Happy New Year! I know, I'm a day late.
Meh, year is still new....not even a day and a half old.
How would you like to be that person in Michigan who won $842 million in Powerball? What a way to start the New Year.
I think I would donate most of it
Seriously, at my age, what would I do with it. I'd give some of it to my grandchildren
Happy New year to all you Babblers. With more peace and kindness in the world.
Damn...wish I still lived in Michigan!
Indiana has the most Powerball winners. I would have guessed California or New York.
almost hashish in the grid
getting a lot of use from the -gh- today
Almost hashish, is that like near beer?
well the idea went up in smoke anyways
well, 31 left for later. no HOET thanks to the 5th col
ooh, just found an 8 from there though
29 now - 14-8-4-0-1-2 TTFN
he6/24 has no definition
FW...some really weird ones
he6/24 is a shell. If there is no definition here, you need to look it up
I did...dictionary.com
That's what I got when I clicked on the word
No, I mean do a Google search
There are a lot of words allowed here that have no definition on dictionary.com
yes molly i find this problematic too.
if i won the powerball i would divide half it among my kids so they can prosper, and then use the rest to buy properties to rent out.
need clues for the 8s and 9s. help welcome
got the 8s. on to the 9s.
got one 9. so no clues needed. ty
thanks for the he6

hi all. i am stumped. the third column H is blank, but i have the word hi4 that can only be from that H. so confused.

8-3-2-0-1

top row grey!

is there more than 1 ph word?
I have 1 p remaining, and only one ph
found an 8!
found the other 8!
similar track to me :)
except i need TWO p words lol
pfft :)
5 to go
10 here
HH S P V
2-1-2
yeah missing same stuff but more
ok got the V, va6/30, dunno why i thought of that
moolingwa what does it mean when someone writes like you did 2-1-2?
he needs 2 four letter words, 1 five letter word, and 2 six letter words to finish
2 4 letter words 1 5 letter word 2 6 letter words remaining
it's also known as hurshian notation :)
whereas i need 4-2-2
oh duh. That makes so much sense. I'm not sure why I didn't think of it.
hursh - love your kitty icon
only makes sense once you know...otherwise pretty obscure :)
thank you. she is an angel who happens to look like a cat. her name is Rilla.
(she never does anything naughty, hence not a cat)
ah, found an h
which S are you missing from, mool? I need one from each!
4th column s
and you got the not-happy-fellow?
oh duh on the v
really? you're calling a duh on that one??
yeah, because I always think of it as an alternate of the w...
well apparently it IS, so well done
i hadn't connected the two
yeah, though I had to look that up
if you mean the hebrew letter, then yes I have that
2-0-1
H S P
uh, yeah, that's what i mean
10 to go here, and hi all!
hi nrkii
i'm stuck on all 8 of mine
hey nrk...well done to get to 10
found my s
stats on that v that's like a w?
shoulda got that earlier too
va6/30
ooh i got my left S words
2-2-2 now
super!
I'm at 4, 4, 2
and apparently va6/30 is one of my 2
nice
got it!!
woot
pegs
shoot
bang
lol
got my last p
so just the h to go
I had that already... I am randomly trying 4-letter words on my last 7 tiles
perhaps if it was weird you can clue it
not the worst strategy
p4 :)
Hawaiian word
she means the p
2-4-1
good chance it's the one you need
oh, didn't get the last p yet
well, one of the ones i need, yeah
ok i think i got that one you meant, no vowels
but still need one other one
at least i know it's not a ph
oh, I forgot to look up
then all the others are easy
one is an odd word but comes up frequently
1-4-1
check plurals too :)
hmmmmmmmmmm
i have two plurals
i mean not counting plural 4s
right, then p4
and there's 4 p3 plurals
yeah i have a pa, pe, ph for those
:)
ohhh pee ESSSSSS
forgot to think about that
yes!
yep
ok, that leaves 3 H and an S
that was my second guess
and 0-2-2
I'm missing one A from right side... 4, 5 or 6
interesting
0-0-1
probably you miss ap5/14 nrkii
no wait that is left
yeah, that's an odd one
got it!
it was from the right, hursh, thank you
down to H2, S2 1-2-1
oh yeah it is, nvm, my brain just blipped
ok got some odd hi words, 5 and 6 pair
one more H and one more S
not if you're bad at spelling :)
lol
but i'm not
true
oh shoot, I already had those
missing some other h 5/6 pair, or h4/5 pair I fear
is your last one H or S, mool?
H
okay, down to 2 H, 5 and 6
I suspect your s is s5
perhaps the turkish military unit
if we are missing the same H then that would be correct mool
we might all end up with the h6 as last
turkish military unit???? ack
yeah
turkish thing comes up a lot --- greeting at a massage parlor
ty nrkii
hah
i shall have to try to put that in my mind near the sa5
I got the two back to back, so works for me
if it would just take a plural for that odd he5...
I always look for both together
what is the odd he5???
how tall you are, minus last letter
oh, have it...
well I think that's an exclamation, so that would be odd
I was hoping for an o at the end
yep, it is
but there's no o in the grid
AHA EUREKA
more's the pity
it looks japanese
he6/24
woot!
looks japanese but not - small disc- or tube-shaped beads made of organic shells or ground and polished stones. They come from the Kewa Pueblo people of New Mexico, before the use of metals in jewelry by that people.
ah, the japanese did it for me
tx hursh...fw pour moi too
:D woot woot
not me :(
not far to go though for you either right?
still have h5 and h6 to go...
do you have ha5/14
no
and then the one i just found and clued? or another 6 besides that?
the one you just clued + ha 5/14 are my last 2
ok cool
found ha5
ha5 is like shakespearey or king jamesy
twisty
found he6! fw!
he6 ends like japanese raw fish ... that was a good clue earlier, but I was trying to be too cute with it
Thanks so much. Back to work. Have a great day all.
triple fw is extra lucky
(i just made that up but it sounds good)
glad I dropped in in time to see that he 6 clue....hello all....

rehi - recaulked the bathroom because the stuff mr. homie used when we remodeled was terrible. then I started taking the ugly wallpaper down in another bathroom. what a PITA. I said I'd never move into a house with wallpaper on the walls and yet here we are.
Whoever thought wallpaper was a good decorating idea should be put in the stockade.
these people also had very questionable paint color tastes. if you recall, I've had to paint all the walls and trim in here.
finally HOET!
found the 2nd 8. seems a little questionable.
well, back to work. 12 left. 5-3-2-0-0-2
I'm hoping someone can help me. Got a Mac laptop for Christmas but don't know how to transfer Babble Expert to it. Can anyone help please?
@zadit - If I remember correctly it only works in windows. Lickety did not have a compiler for apple os. Not sure if it will work with a win os emulator on a mac.
thank you Knight, that makes me so sad if that's true. I've been playing this game for years but always on my PC which I was hoping to get rid of.....
catch lickety at the flip and ask him
Lickety is not at the flip, "Clues are up" is an automated message. Email him at: licketySplitAUS @gmail.com. But Expert is never working on Macintosh computers.
what would we do without you?
hello again if anyone is still here
one more reason not to buy a mac :)
I've never liked Macintosh products
so many new words added to the dictionary -- maybe it is time to drop the middle english?
va 6 please?
Done - back at the flip if I'm still awake :)
the "clues are up" is automated, but sometimes lickety is at the flip. however, as a long time mac user, I can tell you there is no babble expert for it. you just copy your list and paste it into lickety's sheet. no big deal.
I'm on my second Mac since 2012 and would never go back to Windows.
I've been dragging my heels at getting a mac but my husband insisted this would be the year to make a convert out of me, lol.
He keeps sayng I'll LOVE it once I get used to it <keeping my fingers crossed>
I assume he has one and loves it?
Ok, so I did the bulk add/grab after opening the link that says Lickety's Babble Clues and it worked, but there is no chat there :( So I would have to keep flipping back and forth between two tabs , ugh
Oh, yeah, he's Apple all the way lol
I just play here until I find as many as I can or get tired of looking, then paste into lickety's sheet.
was just thinking. 2012 was when I got my first macbook. just realized I have been mac way longer, with an imac and then a mac mini.
CARLA?
Open a new window for Lickety’s list and split your screen - the list (for me) goes on the right side, about 1/4 the size of the babble screen, depending on how many long words there are. AND HEY! OWL!
HEY WELK!
see you later
lurker fireworks! tyvm! ahoj!
