morning babblers
heydiho dear sprite. *hugs*
*hugs rose* hi my dear friend!
Rob was born on father's day. This year, his birthday and father's day coincide again :) Double party today.
squirrel?
oh? we don't celebrate Father's Day until September. so you will be having a big knees up?
father's day in the netherlands is the 3rd sunday in june. Mother's day is second sunday in may.
Father's Day here in SA today :)
well, with all the retirement celebrations, Rob did not want to do much. Caya is cooking dinner tonight and we will eat with the three of us. And some presents. I have arranged for cake.
hiya ursh! Happy father's day !
hang on. the waiter got my order wrong. he thought i sa4 crackers and cheese, and i sa* crackers and dip. i wish he would use his hearing ai4.
in the US of A too. i wonder why we do it differently?
you guys are special!
lovely sprite. this is Rob's special year.
*giggle* special or precious?
both, grin
;-)
in europe, mother's day is celebrated on lots of different days. A friend of mine works in the flower industry and he basically goes bananas between march and july. Madness.
how about the UK? when do they celebrate the two days?
same dates as us
sorry, bbs, nature calls
i still have my flowers from son Simon. i refreshed them other day. they've been going since the second Sunday in May.
s'okay. not going anywhere. i'm on re-charge
back. That is awesome, rose!
ikr?
Rob's flowers from the retirement dinner with work are already gone.
what a pity! mind you, where i have the vase is like a refrigerator it's so cold.
we are having a dutch summer. It is cold everywhere lolol
ugh. any ra*?
jeez i have to be so careful. a lot of everyday words in this grid.
ra4, hail, storm, temps all over the place from near freezing point to 28C.
good grief! that would be fun trying to organise what to wear... lol... a lot of layers i'm guessing.
yes, layering is key. And not letting it stop you from doing stuff. I totally ignore the weather, lol. It is what it is.
i can just see it. taking the layers off as the day gets warmer, then putting them all back on in the evening. that would drive me nuts... yeah i know.... that ship has already sailed.
too late for that, my friend :P but it wouldn't be so bad if it were like that. The changes are more often, and totally random over the day. One moment you are sitting in the sun feeling like a contented cat. Next, hail comes down, temps drop at least 15 degrees and you are running inside. It is nuts.
crazy weather. are you ready for the next ice age? that's what's next, isn't it?
we will see. Am not even trying to predict, lol
wooly mammoths running down our main streets...*giggle*
wooly mammoths wearing parasols, just in case
LOLOLOL
with bikinis on?
polka dot bikinis
absolutely
just watching a preview of the slide show for Fred's funeral on Tuesday. such a lovely old man!
photo from 1945. my goodness, what a looker!
oh wow
he was a submariner in WWII
one of the many fighting for our freedom
finally. the recharger has moved up to 3 dots. i've been sitting here for nearly 2 hours. my bum is numb..
sounds like you need a speed charger
he was english, migrated here back in the day.
one more dot to go and i'm fully charged again. *sigh*
when you see the younger pics of him, you can just imagine him jumping through the doorways of a sub. he wasn't much taller than i am.
that is a plus on a submarine. Man, they are claustrophobic.
my thoughts exactly. very brave guys those submariners. at least on top of the water they had half a chance. but under??
no chance at all. It would scare me terribly.
fireflies. *hugs* my darling, and lots of love. Ursh, have a blessed day and a peaceful night!
have a lovely day my darling. *hugs*
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads that play.
I love it when the first word I see is an 8
mosh was not found in the dictionary!

Hello welki

hey welki, bea, peri
mr. homie's in the grid
ah yes, also not in the dictionary
the i's are hard today
Yes, I've been trying to untangle them.
find one, and you'll have a string of them
phantom: define
well, I have 4 related from the top, but only 1 from each of the lower ones
now have 2 more from the top, all related. but still no HOET due to the lower ones.
id5/12 from the lowest i
that's the one I do have, unless there is another.
and have in5/10 from the 2nd row
do you mean 5/12 for real peri or do you mean 5/14
oh yeah there's both!!
there are both
oh, found a babblet i on 2nd row
5/12
dolphin hokie
and in6/21
oh, found the 5/14, thanks. now HOET.
is dolphin the babblet? I don't know what that means.
yeah the babblet
it's the amazon river dolphin, it's pink!
I just finished a book where one of the main characters was down there studying the pink dolphins in the amazon, and they never once used that word.
well there are like a bunch of different names for it i guess
also known as "boto" or "bufeo"
but in4 is their scientific genus name
I think this book series is terrible writing, so I'm not surprised. I just thought it was odd that I'd never heard of pink amazonian dolphins and now twice in a week.
never ra5 but it pours
ooh, finally found another 8
Have you ever heard of the Venezuelan Jungle Parrot? Google it
I have not
namaste
Good Morning
oh my goodness, wo 7/8... monkeys on overdrive for that
Hello and happy Fathers' Day!
7 to go here, 1-3-1-0-2
thank you, nrkii. I would have never monkeyed that.
How do people here know about alpine/Arctic ferns? Are you all members of some kind of botany club?
just someone turning over a new leaf in life likely
Perhaps I was barking up the wrong tree
you could have be just hedging your bets?
Or beating around the bush. (Oh dear, I hope that won't trigger anyone)
you all need to branch out
I'll go out on a limb and say maybe we don't
all this punning makes me bushed
my guess is if you survey all the people that know about alpine ferns you'd get to the root of the problem.
hello everyone :)
hey nan
I'm frond of your punning, ruru
i can't beleaf i missed a pun fest
where do these stem from?
that's because you have a lot of stamen-a hokie
ha ha shirl.. you're such a pistil
such a treemendous response
now rurr's going to put the petal to the metal
budding out already?
I thought it was just blooming
I was starting to lose tomentum
cutting out while the cuttings are good
I'm stumped how to keep on punning actually
*Shrubs shoulders* you will think of something
stop beating around the bushes molly :D
Okay, when we start doing repeats it's time to leave it alone
about to ring around the rosies
oh I missed the bush thing earlier
time to get stuff done.. have fun
Not like you to miss a bush (oh there I go again)
Fireflies finally
