Morning sprite
hiya Foxy! Having fun with the Olympics?
Yeah, there great
They’re
Treating Kiwi a four day weekend road trip, might make it 5 days
my daughter and her friends are gonna watch the climbing ones this morning. They climb themselves.
oh wow, sounds awesome!
Watched the speed climb, absolutely amazing
Kiwi is awesome
she is. Am glad she found someone who appreciates her.
* slides in Tom Cruse style * but i have been good spritey. * hugs * and Foxy too. and where's wonder woman?
*hugs rose* Hi there, dear friend. Good to hear you haven't been overdoing stuff.
pyjama day here.... * grin *
very good. Proud of you.
that sorta kinda ending is rather ornamental today, isn't it?
yeah. it's pretty useless today
Hi Grannyrose
hey ya foxy
Wonder Woman having a kip
*waves at Kiwi in her dreams*
now i wonder how i didn't know that... * giggle * you gotta stop keeping her up all night Foxy.
I bet Kiwi doesn't agree with that, rose!
isn't a feetish a certain kind of fetish?
probably not... these newly weds don't know how to make it last do they?
lol rose
feetish..... an out of control love of feet
exactly
put it in the dictionary please
will do
have you ever checked out our dictionary in my profile, Foxy?
No comment, not going to Incriminate myself
Foxy. i am not responsible. it's all sprite's doing...
lol. It is fun. I promise.
No sprite, it looks pretty comprehensive
um, sprite i think foxy was " not commenting " on my message about newly wed. not your dictionary.
:D
Yes I was grannyrose
at the bottom there is also a rather useful list of babble idiom including babblets. But the dictionary is the fun part :D
I think I’ll use your dictionary sprite. I probably only know about 1/5th ofthe words that Kiwi knows and a 1/10th of what grannyrose and yourself know
babble is a great way to learn totally useless words, grin
that it is, indeed, sprite :)
like all three spellings of the Jewish village.
hiya seain, indeed. And those seemingly vowelless words like crwth
aeolian for those times there's nothing but vowels
tons of currency...
cwms and crwth are both from Welsh, in which W is like English oo or Dutch oe, if long.
lwei is a favorine currency I've learned here.
yeah I know, but for the non-welsh it looks vowelless
true.
I love those words that start with unlikely consonant combinations.
I used to work with people from Ethiopia, teaching them to pronounce consonant clusters, which don't exist the languages there.
world is a hard word for them.
hey seain. how's it going? why aren't you in bed? do i need to come over there and teach you how to sleep?
on a personal note, today I went to the optometrist and got a haircut.
my sleep hygiene is horrific.
but I have no Saturday plans, so can sleep in.
it is interesting. When you grow up not hearing certain sounds, you go deaf to them. Sounds have to have some kind of meaning for our brain to retain them as noticeable.
* giggling * no i'm not going through that again... lol
after insurance, for a regular pair and a pair of sunglasses with full progressive prescription and a couple custom options.
roflollllll okay.... so we have seain getting a haircut at the optometrist and then doing the dirty?
agreed, sprite re phonemes that sound right to us.
You’re naughty granny rose, that why we love ya
oh, $2224 out of pocket.
you are worth it, seain
aggghh seain. that's a lot of moolah.
insurance covered $1000, which is not bad since I'm on the pubic insurance.
it mis 2:45 am kn leveland Heights, ohio... what time is it where you are???
I've always worn bifocals, progressives for the last 27 years, with polycarbonate lenses.
here it is 8.47 am
Morning all. Can anyone please give me stats for the bottom righthand corner R?
I'm 1h ahead of grid time (UTC-4), US EDT.
morning matty. I think that is re6/21
we have private insurance for hospital only. now old enough to have most services at a very reduced rate. BUT we do have to pay the extra for specialist consults.
has to be an RA or an RI
Morning Sprite, rose, Sammysmom and dcseain ;)
morning, Matty nice to see you again.
I am so sorry. I misread. Bottom corner, not top. Let me check.
ra4/5 it is
Oh FFS! Slap me with the wettest of fish. Thank you ;)
oh, fishy! thanks, sprite
*gently hits matty over the head with a slightly rotten salmon*
hi matty. how's life?
hi Mqatty.. hi everyone!!-- this ancient old lady is cjuggin- listening to Gene Watson sikng and playing the game.
*and seain too, but even more gently because of his new haircut*
Not bad, thanks! Apart from dental (well, gum) issues - my disposal income for this month, I predict, will be going to dentists and periodontists :)
she did do an amazing job of highlighting the curl.
awww that's too bad matty
nice, smom
seain, the curl in the middle of your forehead?
At this rate, I'll have to change my name to Gappy McGapface
may it be money well spent.
fireflies. Very nice grid. It has teeth but it flows too.
it doesn't matter what i do or don't do, take or don't take, my teeth keep breaking.
WTG SPRITE !!
My 👂 are 🥵 🥵
yay sprite! have a lovely Saturday.
My teeth are fine. My gums (and the bones of my jaw/gums) much, much less so
But getting broken teeth is horrid - I feel for you
well hello kiwi. nice nap?
*hugs all around and one extra for rose* Have a blessed day and a peaceful night, all.
g'day, kiwi
* hugs * sprite. have a lovely day honey.
Not long enough but it’s evening so I thought I best wake up now rather than later lol
Hi sprite bye sprite
And Kia Ora dc
don't think foxy will complain if you keep him awake tonight kiwi. lol
He’s already complaining about my snoring
tell him to put a sock in it.... and i don't mean YOUR mouth..
time for a sleep study, and maybe a CPAP?
oh she does have a CPAP seain. keeps putting off getting the replacement bits it needs.
* sigh * i am gonna have to go over the ditch and sort Kiwi out.
ah, yeah, that can be a problem.
I’m only allowed one free set every twelve months
i simply cannot sleep without my CPAP. i snort myself awake all night... lol
that's not enough for a lot of folks.
can you folks see me /
mind you i'm not one to talk. my current halter is held together with glue and sticky tape.
Hi sammysmom!
hello, Sammysmom, yes :)
yes smom. do you need a hand?
ji matty-- was have a blank spot..... happens a lot of late...........
I’d love to have a fancy one but this one is free from the hospital so I don’t complain
nd I didn’t plan to nod off … it just happened
maybe ask the hospital what you're supposed to do when the CPAP falls apart mid-tear.
errrr. * YEAR * not tear

If anyone enjoys the John and Abigail Adams story, the miniseries "John Adams" is wonderful. Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney both won Emmys for their performances.

ooh, one of my fave canadian candy bars! gillie, you must know which one!
hmm...
all I remember about canadian candy is smarties are nothing like US smarties and are more like m&m's
they may be more like m&ms, but they're still awful
chewy toffee, peanuts, chocolate - the trifecta!
lol
you have m&m's though, right?
yeah, smarties are pretty bad - weird coating
yes
do you have sixlets? I always liked those. similar, but different.
no, never seen those
i've never run across them, but see they're available up here
they are round chocolate with candy coating
anyway - eatmore, that's what they're called
of course!
I'm bad at compound words generally
me too
but never saw that candy bar in my visits to canada
and they're gluten free
not a big peanuts fan but love toffee
they are pretty good
it's not like the toffee you're used to - it's more like a chocolate caramel with really finely chopped nuts in it
rs
is there a US candy bar simiar?
not that i can recall
flavor-wise, maybe a chocolate baby ruth, but the texture is what makes eatmores 'special'
my fave candy bar is SKOR, which is only at like drug stores and gas stations in my experience. when we went to Hershey, I bought a whole case.
ohh, carla, up here we get SKOR blizzards at DQ
It's pretty widely available, I think
mmmm. only Heath blizzards here. and Heath and Skor are both Hershey but Heath is widely available. not as good either.
heh - i treated myself to a heath blizzard last year and it was pretty good (i order mine without the chocolate syrup)
me
Never seen heath - I do like SKOR
I haven't had a blizzard in forever, but I always got them with choc ice cream if available, and choc syrup if not
they're ridiculously expensive (and not great for the glucose levels), but a treat once in a while isn't a bad thing
I love blizzards but just don't want to deal with having to ask them to clean the machine first and still risk it
i understand - not worth it. maybe you have to schedule a breakfast blizzard, first thing in the morning when the machines are pristine :)
mmm, breakfast blizzard
well, I am one R away from bottom 2 rows gray
done procrastinating - later, folks!
bye welki!
bye!

clue for the AM7 pls?
ooo nm
sh8 - comparative form of an adjective (mainly British) meaning bad-tempered or annoyed
(for those who thought it had something to do with the garment)
well - it may have had something to do with the garment back when it came into use in the middle of the 19th century, but it's not meant to compare anything to the garment
that's a blouse-y definition
Well, I took it from Collins Dictionary online (should have credited before, I guess), but there are plenty of other sources. It may have come from an old expression "to get one's sh--- out", meaning to get annoyed, according to various sources.
but the comparative is admittedly a bit odd - and I haven't found any examples of it in use
that was a pun gillie.. just a joke
ha! last two minute fw! yay, me!
