Just when you want a big one...
I had all my treats laid out for a niiiice looooong Babble session....sigh.
So the first word I see COVID, got that! husband too today.
I noticed that too. Our brains must be hardwired for it now. Sorry for your illness. We just got our boosters this week. As far as I know, neither hubby nor I have ever had Covid, but who knows anymore. Get well soonest!
Clues are up
I have 6 left, but don't have either the 6 or 7. This might turn into a long session after all!
Its nothing more than a head cold for me. I have been having six monthly boosters as have low immunity
Glad you're taking the precautions. With low immunity, that is certainly a must.
nbt, nbs, ta 7
Thank you (as always!)
Anytime I can, lol.
lynnx. you are in the same boat as i am. i have covid for the first time, and hubby just tested positive today, for the first time.
sn4.5 Rose...1st time for me too
Things are different where I live. My immunity levels are so low that some can't even be measured. I never took the vaccine nor the boosters and I have never had Covid.
Well, I know they've got Covid in Windsor, so maybe you never go out?
this mutation must be pretty virulent. lost my appetite, sense of smell gone, and today was the first time i had the enrgy to have a shower AND enjoy it.
mine is really just a head cold - that is all
please be very careful of you, Rain. i sincerely hope you don't get this mutation. it is vile.
lucky you, lynn. when i had RSV earlier this year it was like that. i did do a RAT, and it was negative for CV then.
Of course I go out Gillie but there are more than a few people here who opted out as well. Almost all the few people I know who have been vaccinated and boosted did get Covid, some of them multiple times.
Statistically, almost everyone has had Covid now whether they've been vaccinated or not
Just as almost everyone has had the flu, ditto
And Covid is still killing a lot more people than the flu
the main point of the vaccines is to reduce the severity of it
ditto here Rain. People make up their own minds, and have the right to do so. Of course what Gille also holds some truth in it. the severity of this cv isn't anything like the original, and the impact is not as much as it could have been.
Gillie, I am a retired clinical scientist - pathology. My specialty was virology and immunohematology. I not only read all the studies but understood them as well. hence my decision to opt out. I haven't had the flu or even a cold for at least 5 years. My immunologist and hematologist are really impressed considering how low my immunoglobulins are.
Yikes - The officials, who oversee low-lying towns including Steinhatchee and Perry, posted on Facebook Thursday afternoon to ask all residents who chose not to evacuate to grab a permanent marker and write their name and date of birth on their leg so that they canbe identified if necessary.

i looked at ci4/5 and forgot to think goodbye
rain, since, specialty was virology and immunohematology, can you explain the professsional reason to reject the vaccine ? i got mine, and wife got sick, i did not .... i listen to all ppl concerning the safety of it
MD here, I have had 7 or 8 CoV vaccines so far, the last 2-3 have been Novavax which is more effective. But NO current CoV vax prevents infection yet. Severe illness is prevented.
#1 mitigation = wearing a N95 or better respirator. The virus is airborne. We need clean air.
first pass 8 left, i'm sure these last 8 will take me all day
Good work, Shirlock.
Hello everyone!
Hi Car! I love your leaf cookies!
Hi Scrabs! So good to "see" you! I am enjoying our hiking adventures!
Thank you! I really loved doing something easy for a change (LOL)
I wish I could eat cookies
:(
I enjoy sharing pics of my adventures. We hike into beautiful places.
I'm glad I don't eat very many.
You really do!
cookies?
pass one over

I'm really trying to lose weight... so all those things are a thing of the past for me.
It's so hard, Ruru, my eternal struggle.
no shit.. I eat a salad and gain two pounds
I hear ya ruru. I've had vertigo for over a month, so I have dropped over 10 lbs., but I CANNOT recommend this plan at all!
As am we, Scrabs.
i've had a sweet tooth all my life and I have to really resist
vertigo is awful
absolutely.
The headache clinic can see me in April....
you could dye your hair blonde and be a dizzy blonde car.ee
Oh, car. I get vestibular migraines and had a whopper from Tues-yesterday. It was intolerable.
I do not need any dye for that!
Yes! They have been so bad lately!
April? Geez, I will call the neurologist later.
I have had to cut my work load since I can't focus on the blurry cookies.
I rarely get headaches now that I'm divorced :D
My ENT has gotten me in with a different neurologist in November.
ruru! LOL
I feared falling and getting injured.
Scrabs...we really were separated at birth.
I have to drive Nicole to school 2 days a week...its been challenging to say the lease.

Stats please for the lower O in the first column?
op5
scrabbler, i see "NO current CoV vax prevents infection yet. Severe illness is prevented" and understand, but, i was curious as to the 'reason' rain. saw in studies, that it wasn't worth taking ... i've had all shots ... and only got covid when i missed a booster .. a office mate of mine died april 2020 ... so i knew it wasn't a political stunt
takes a good eye to see it
phantom = opioid
yup
I think the earlier strains of Covid were more dangerous what do you think Scrabs
CoV infection, and especially repeated infections, is devastating. The acute infection is often "mild" but the virus is thromboembolic and neurotropic and the post-acute period is the real concern. Strokes, MIs, clots, brain damage, autoimmune disorders...
got the OP. Thank you. Thought I had tried that.
I've only had covid once... we all got it on our trip to Scotland .. for me it was like a bad cold for two days.
I am off to cookie. Wishing you all a beautiful and healthy day. Prayers for our friends affected by Helene.
ruru, this surge which started in July-August was causing 100-1500 deaths/week. The government and CDC have suppressed the reality
My son at CMU says the campus is rife with Covid right now.
OK, I'm off
You can't get Long COVID if you don't get COVID. I don't want to be disabled in bed.
I bet colleges are a breeding ground for covid
bye car
The "mildness" of the acute infection fools people but the post-acute period and LC are crushing people.
I feel totally normal now... I am vaccinated to the max though. I have to wait till later this month to get the new booster
COVID dementia is skyrocketing. The most effective protection = wear a N95-99 respirator when indoors.
do you think Trump has covid dementia?
and/or senile dementia or Parkinson's
he sure acts like he does.
Doit
doit to you too mkg
Sorry all.
Hi mkg
Hi all.
Here is another scary fact about CoV: 50% of infected people are asymptomatic, but spreading disease.
In my book we have two non-presidential candidates to vote for. Both are very very flawed.
true mkg but I'd vote for a serial killer for president before I'd vote for Trump
I really like Nikki Haley. Sad that she didnt make it.
If it was haley verses harris it would be an interesting race. Both women of color…………too bad
I voted for Haley in the primary
Howdy folks. No power but we’re pretty sure the eye passed over us a little while ago.
I pray haley gets the nomination next time.
Well this grid sucks. So did yesterdays.
Any help with six or 7 welcome. Ty.

Thx for that set. I believe those are snakes. Or little leaguers that always make it to the world series.
hi carla, one variety is the most poisonous in the world, it is in Australia, hope your power is on soon
does that ta pair end with skillet?
that's the inland ta6 absolutely the most venomous snake in the world
Some people still don't believe COVID is real. Sad.
that is sad...
well.. i have to straighten up the house.. have a good day everyone
You gotta wonder how messy that house can get with one person living there. 😊
I'm cooking for a friend who just had surgery and vegan food uses a ton of pans and equipment as far as I'm concerned
How is your friend doing?

she's really doing well.. still on a walker. I've been getting groceries for her too. She's getting around well. I hope she doesn't push herself too hard and focus on healing.

i know an Aussie who refers to the ta6/7 as the "two step snake" Because that's how far you'll get if it bites you!
