I wanted to, but I was asleep before it was proper dark
Missed them due to light pollution. Going to grab some coffee (or beer) and go into the countryside tonite. Hope to see them or some meteors.
we looked but didn't see them
sometimes you can't really see them with the naked eye, but they show up great on a camera set to dark mode
it was such a strong burst around 7pm eastern that you could see them with the naked eye in greater boston!

so mochi can be both the ice cream (trader joe's has DELICIOUS green tea mochi) but also soft confections kina like turkish delight (but not really)
yeah, just saw that on google, which is why I specified the ice cream one. I also never knew about the hawaiian one until I saw it on a tv show in the last year or so.

I bought some bubble tea, maybe at TJ's also, but only had one so far. kinda forgot it's in my freezer somewhere. I don't like actual tea so I do like it better than that.

I tried! In other news, it's been a big week here. Middle child (daughter) got engaged, wedding next month. Daughter in Law had an embryo implanted today. SO...by Thanksgiving, I'll be a MIL again, and possibly, hopefully, a soon to be grandma. Overshare, I know!

rehi - only got called once and I had a toddler with nowhere to go and was like 38 or 39 weeks pregnant. I tried to get my dr to write me a note but she said it wouldn't matter. luckily when I called the automated number the day before they said they didn't need me.

Not much to plan, thankfully. The grooms family is coming to visit for the first time the week before Thanksgiving, so they decided to get 'er done. JP ceremony the day his family lands in Houston, lunch to follow. This daughter is low-key, easy peasy!

Well done Champ. Last year, , I was tasked with assembling potential jurors for a massive inquest here in Ireland. (Stardust fire). It was my job to get 350 bums on seats for the jury selection process. And I did! So i have huge respect for jurors. (Sidenote - inquest ran for over a year, with a very satisfactory outcome). If I had a careercrown, that process would be the jewel in it.
Way to go Soodle! That's why I show up. They told us that they send out thousands of summons to get a few hundred that actually show up. One of my kids (bride to be) is an attorney. I know it's important!

one of my stay at home mom friends got put on one for like 6 weeks and they excused a grandma who was the caretaker of her grandkid but not my friend, so we had to take turns getting her daughter to and from preschool and watching her the rest of the day. then the trial went long and they asked if anyone had any hardship for it to be extended and finally excused my friend. so it was all for naught!
Fabulous!!! My son and DIL have been working on this IVF all year. They have 2 embryos, and transferred one today. Prayers for a good outcome would be appreciated.

carla, you just never know! I was on a jury for 5 days, held up by a woman who had a "feeling" that had nothing to do with what we were deciding. I was foreman, and the minute we bullied her into changing her mind, called the bailiff, and we were done! Thank you Gwen!

I really don't mind doing it, but an 8:00 a.m. call in Houston Texas from the suburbs is easily 45 mins to a hour travel time. I'm up, no biggie, but the traffic and what can delay you is a pain.
I wouldn't have minded if I thought I wasn't going to go into labor any day and I had a grandparent to take care of my kid. :D

My sister had 6 unsuccessful bouts of IVF. They had given up. Then my late Dad went to Lourdes & lit a candle that they might have a child. My sister fell pregnant immediately afterwards, and had two more babies in quick succession. My brother in law requested my Dad to go back to Lourdes & blow out the candle. True story.
