my friend's daughter has FM. poor little love keeps waking in so much pain, she just lies there weeping. my heart goes out to her.

i hear you about the win..lol. i usually get up, go to the loo, come back, and turn on the light and read for a bit until my hip starts to ache. then i put the CPAP back on, light off, and try to sleep til 7 or 8.
yeah, that does not work for me at all. Once I am awake, I had better get up. Or my back and hips and shoulders start killing me.

yes. One step at a time. Cutting your tasks up in tiny portions. And learning to stay in that sweet zone. Not overdoing stuff and not underdoing either.
and accepting that every day is different, and that the things you can do one day with relative ease, are way way too much on another day.
exactly. she has four boys to take care of too. plus my friend who is turning 75 next week. to me she's a little trooper.
it is really tough with little kids.
whenever i think my day is bad, i think of you and her. then i thank God for the access i have to the meds etc i need.

Rob is not doing great. His knees are killing him. We are waiting for the specialist to get through the waiting list. Rob is walking with a cane now. And the gout is also still acting up a lot. Still, he sleeps so much better and that makes a huge difference. Especially in temper :)
i hear you, about the sleep. when you manage a good night's rest you can face what the day is like,
yes, the problem with chronic illnesses and conditions is that you do not land into them full force. It builds up slowly and you adapt, and before you know it, you think it is normal. Like Rob being chronically sleep deprived for ages. Only now do we realise how bad it has been.
so what is the GP doing about his pain? have you found another gp near to you?
no honey, we cannot. Problem is, we are not officially living here. Our official residence is still in Almere. Only once we will have a permanent place to live where we can actually register as our place of residence, will we be able to get a local gp. Rob went back to our gp to get the referral to the specialist for his knees. It is not ideal.
now that Caya is done with her study, we are going to discuss (today) how much support they still need from us and if it is feasable that we move away. If so, I will start searching for a permanent home.
be careful sweetie. she is your daughter and if she thinks she has to allow you to move on, she will. you wouldn't want her to need you but not say she does.

The problem with ice and snow around here are all the dingbat people who don't know how to drive on dry pavement, let alone slippery pavement. And all the people driving cars with bald tires. It is a recipe for disaster.
We've had spring-like weather here. Currently 70 muggy degrees. TOO SOON. Should be more "normal" next week.

they may not enjoy being cold, they may just be concerned about the implications of unpredictable weather for agriculture and the long-term problem of how we will deal with our changing climate

it's not that ice and snow are good for agriculture, it's that people depend on predictable seasonal weather patterns to know when to plant. if you can get a 70 degree day now, you can get a freezing day later too, which then could kill young sprouting crops.

All of my kids and most of my grandchildren play D&D. My sons spent most of Christmas day teaching the youngest 3 how to play.
One good thing about D&D over the similar electronic games out there is that they have to read and talk to each other :)
