No glitch just type in the add word box and not the chat box, though it happens to all of us now and again.
I am frequently on a roll, but the words just stop typing. Let's hope they haven't all been going in here. Sorry if they have.
Do you have auto correct enabled? Sometimes I find that it glitched things.
