Clues are up
Pi7
thanks, Lickety
cooee and * hugs * sprite. how was your night?
hi sweetie, a bit bumpy. How are you doing after your fall?
improving rapidly. but feet still quite swollen. tomorrow will go through my compression stockings (the ones with the open to4 ). i pulled out one pair the other day. although marked large i can hardly pull them wide enough to go over my to4. i am guessing i am going to have to just grit my teeth and have Don put them on me.
make sure you keep your feet up today! And hopefully you can put some on tomorrow.
os8/40
oh hello Molly. don't see you here this late often. are you okay?
fireflies. That was one fast grid, wow.
sprite, i have never been diagnosed with PTSD. do you think it is possible? you know me well enough.
WTG SPRITE!!
quite possible, honey. I will move to whatsapp. *hugs*
okay. see you there.
CULINARY TREATS
clue for the last ch 5plz
got it
Name That Proper Noun: Egyptian God
Pteh
Pteh
Very Excellent, but there is another. I will give you a prize anyway. You get a black bull: Apis
co 6/21?
morning all
top row grey!
The co 6/21 I have us a plural that ends in game, ***, match
phantom: helix
2nd row grey!
ty LuvWordGames!
Good morning, Babblers. :)
morning crossy
phantom: tipsy
Clue for H in first row, please.
handle for a sword
Ty, slap me with a fish. :)
lol
it took me forever to find the corner E
:)
The E in the third column, please.
el4, et4
abr for school grades
Got the et. Ty
the el is the dumbest portmanteau here. never heard anyone use that. it might be US schools, crossy. you all might call them different things.
el, not low
my guess is there was a fad for using it in some previous decade and then it went away
probably 50s
yeah
Ty, phae, and hurshy. Call foul 😔 n that el4 tough
well, lo and behold the def says 1945-50
Damn typos :/
but we do have that one a lot so you gotta get used to it
yep
Well, if I can absorb several words for a needlecase, I am sure my mind will retain this El4--eventually.
lol
phantom: pastiche
well I still haven't absorbed all the other ways for meow
phantom: paisley
I can see myself at 90 in some old age home cursing at Enable while pounding away on the keyboard with a magnifying glass in one hand.
you can make stuff bigger on the screen, you don't need a magnifying glass lol
and it'll be the same enable from 2000
Yup.
can't make the keys bigger!
of course if you had typing class you know where the keys are
The glass is for they keyboard! Lol
oh, you guys never learned to touch type?
never heard it called that, but yes, I had typing class in 10th grade
Never did, sadly, though I can hunt and peck 50wpm when I am on a roll.
i feel like typing class was the most obviously useful class i ever took
But not on this idiotic touch screen.
my current keyboard has little nubs on the F and J but the J is worn down so I occasionally find my right hand on the wrong spot. the other day I was typing LOL and it came up KIK.
i don't babble on a touch screen, have always kept it to laptop
you could make a little new nub with a dot of glue, hokie
I do touchscreen babble occasionally in bed at night but I hate it
true
well, the c is being a PITA yet again today. still 7 there.
1 ce, 7 ch, 10 co
Any nice clues for the longer pa and pi words?
not from me, just on 4th row
in Cornwall a standard quick lunch is pa7
Got that one
not there yet
pi7 rhymes with a little purple flower
thanks for the pi 7 hursh
Lol I barely know a rose from a dandelion. :)
if there are more i need them too
this flower is very well known, also the name of a color of the rainbow and a girl's name
trust me, i am no botanist myself, if i use a flower clue it is probably a flower everybody knows
You would be surprised. :)
it's too bad we don't HAVE the flower in the grid despite the fact that we do have a V
roy g biV
Oh well, will just come back to it when it is my last word. :)
you really didn't get it with flower, color, AND girl's name and you don't know roy g biv???
maybe they only do roy g biv in US schools
That last bit means nothing. Looks like a tyop to me.
Typo
Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo and...
I have no idea what Roy g biv means
it's a mnemonic acronym
for the colors of the rainbow
Glad I am not the only one. :)
g'morning
the pi6 is an ice ax
don't be such a shrinking vi*
the v flower word-remove a letter for a word that means very aggressive
Ty all, and ty, Luv. From nally found it
Finally.
Cannot recall ever seeing ut gefore.
It before*
yay
No wonder you all had to beat me over the head with it to get it. :)
Sounds like someone who flys a plane.
pa7...food
Got that one, ty, phae
so now that you got pi7, would you say that you have indeed heard of the flower i was talking about, that it rhymes with
os7?
os7 ends with spanish cheer
ty
Of course, I do, but it is odd how minds work differently if you had said sound like the person that flies a plane I would have been all over it.
oh yes, i understand that crossy
i just want my lack of botanical knowledge and accuracy of what flowers are known by all to be clear
lol
But ty for all your effort. I appreciate it.
whatever else i may tolerate, i will not be thought a botanical expert!!
although what i do wish i knew was like that whole "language of flowers" people made up, where different flowers represent concepts like love, hope, grief, etc. that's just pretty.
Lol. Main reason why my wife wont let me buy her flower--I would come back with a pot of chives.
co7?
co + vowel + location, as of a construction project
ty
Ty, hurshy
wow, there's a weird sc6/36
(went to the list for my last 10)
as7
Ty, the points nailed that one down. Never would have found it itherwise.
Otherwise
Think facy wristwatch. :)
Fancy
are you asking for a clue phae, or reporting that you found as7
clue...I get what crossy said but trying to connect that to ai
by the way, crossy, i apologize if my incredulousness about my clues not working was insulting. i should think before "speaking"
oops..as
crossy was talking about sc6, it's not related to as7
did you read Lois Lowry's books about a girl called An******* Krupnik?
It is fine, hurshy. I am a bit dense when it comes to flowers. We all have blund spots, and this one is mine.
ahh...lol
Blind
did you know that clue phae?
no
that girl's name was also the name of the Romanov daughter that people always had rumors that she survived the massacre by the bolsheviks even though that's pretty clearly impossible
ty got it from that clue...FW
Ty for as7, Hurshy
Got that, but did not see a flower--go figure. :)
Yaa for phae!
ty...hagd
Trying to hunt down my one missing V...
Taking an eye refresh break; go read the news, see what Trump has set on fire today.
hi all. Not seeing the d words at all. Any help welcome.
d + what you dig to create...and pl....
should say ... you dig to create this...
Got both words. Ty.
Pefect clue.
yw...
Any clues for the 8? And stat as well please. Ty.
os 8....last four letters are the last four letters of the dh pl word....there is a singular os 7....
Ty. Any meaning?
no idea...
Biology. a small opening or pore, especially in the fruiting body of a fungus.
atart with the left O...
Struggling to get from os to the ho within two moves. Ostisechole????????
there is only one way to get there, I think....you have the correct first four letters....
Yes start with left os and then either t or p, and then i cant use the E as this is the last letter……hmmm
look at what i just said...
Got it!!!!!!!! Try
Ty
yw...
Ok ty for great help!
Off to start the day over.
bye...
time for lunch....bye all....
Ty for the os7 and os8, Pen.
Yaa! The V's are vanquished!
The sneaky one was the vo5--a measurement for electricity but with an extra vowel on the end.
hello everyoe :)
thx for that crossy
Hidy, Cybernan. :) Nice to see someone is alive out there. :)
Namaste
Hiwdy, bzzbea. :)
Howdy*
Bit of French in here as well with the pa7
is there a patisserie (she asks hopefully) - a croissant would be lovely about now
no such luck
No, and it is creole spoken by a group of people to be more accurate
yes - I found it -- thought it could be any french dialect though
Even that is not exactly right. My cluing skills are off today.
the pa7? I have a pa6 that is the creole, not sure how to make it a 7
anyone want to guess my misssing i word?
Sorry a 6 not a 7 my mistake
oh yes - it is a 6
the pa 7 could be something you eat or nipple covers - take your pick
could be both, nipple covers that you can eat
Now there is an idea...
lol
even in cornwall?
I sm sure they also have nipples in Cornwall. :)
solet
oops
Someone please tell how on earth 63 words can hide so well. :(
same attributes as the 55 I need
including 5 c's - grrr
:/
I still need seven c words.
as soon as I hit 50, I'm listing
oh -- misse 3 ea words :)
48 - off to lickety
There is a ch5 and 6 that sounds like ethnic slang as is "honey ch5" when referring so a young person.
have that
Though I am told it is another word for oeppers
Peppers
co 7 please?
Co6 is co+ game, ***, and match, and pl
il
co + vowel + place
co + vowel + place like a construction ****
Sorry, was cluing the six by mistake

don't have it but will look
Looking as well.
is + vowel + most of satan's world
Ty, Cybernan.
ty!
how about the sc6?
don't have that either
Seems like most of my missing words are of the five letter variety. :/
begins like the reprimand before it and ends like a very expensive watch
thx crosshair!
I actually forgot that I clued it much earlier. When using the tablet the word found list does not scroll for me, so after the first twenty words or so I have no idea what words I have found. :(
pi6/21 that follow michaelangelo's statue(s), please?
Do the statue ones sould like the person who flies a plane?
Sound
no
famous statue in St. Peter's, Vatican City: La Pi 5/12
ty crossy - that was the one I needed
:)
La Pi 5 is the most beautiful statue I have ever seen. It is the one of Mary holding the body of Jesus.
Ty for pi5,cybernan
Thebone I love is the statue that is male on one side and female on the other, but I cannot rememer who carved it.
I don't know how anyone can get such a moving expression on the face of a person carved in marble.
like many things in the art world photos don't do it justice
NAN THE PI 6 IS THE SAME AS A PURPLE FLOWER WITH A P BEGINNING
There is also a female bust where the carver had such skill that he carved a transparent veil out of marble. It is stunning.
BUT WITHA P BEGINNING
and it also has a pt
that rings a bell, crossy - was it a Rodin?
I think so, Cybernan.
It has been popping up in my FB feed of late.
Done -- anything else wanted before I leave?
Yea, if you could clue my last 52 words that would be great. :)
Just clue the toughest word you have before you go. :)
How is Nancy doing this fine day?
Good afternoon. Crossie, I just started & have 52 words but I’ll bet they’re the ones you found first & won’t be helpfyul to you
Lol, howdy, nef. :)
Buckle up, there are some really strange ones, nef.
I’m seeing that already. But I have the top row black already. :D
:)
And now NBT (still need the 8 though for NBS)
almost tapioca
the last few clued were my toughest. :)
btw: the veiled lady I was thinking of is by an Italian - not Rodin
hagd everyone :)
Bye cyber
Great clue hokie but still working on it
lol, I didn't clue anything
I just said we almost have tapioca in the grid
OH! No wonder I can’t find the 8! I just checked the word counts now & see I need an os 8/40, so am working on that now
Nan did you find the pi 6?
thanks, Nancy. got it
OH good to know someone got my clue.
Stole
Oops! Sorry
