Ai8

12:38 am

Done

12:39 am

who uses the term ai8??? It's not even in the look-up dictionary

12:45 am

it's a bus that transports passengers to and from an airport, apparently

12:46 am

I figured it would be British (I lived there for several years, aeons ago), but I never heard it there. Anyways, it was a head-slapper for me, in the end.

12:47 am

yeah, I don't think I've ever come across it before

12:48 am

Well, I'm down to one 5-letter word and all three 6-letter words - time to list, I guess

12:48 am

Always seems to be one or two words that are just not quite in the realm of general dictionary use...not merely unusual, but simply odd in some way.

12:49 am

I'm down to 8. Good luck to you, Gillie! I'm too lazy to list. I used to, when I used a desktop and had a printer to print it out. Not fun with my laptop.

12:50 am

good night!

12:52 am

jeanne there is a way to get lickety clues on your screen to the left - but i cant remember how

1:00 am

jeanne, resize the window you have open. hover your mouse on the edge, and when the little two headed arrow appears hold down the button and move the arrow sideways. then open a second window with lickety's list open in it, and do the same. then click and hold your cursor over the window and drag the second window to the side. then you will have two windows open side by side.

1:01 am

this is how i play on my laptop.

1:27 am

morning babblers

1:28 am

Namaste

12:03 pm

🙄

12:31 pm

Ugh. This is not a fun grid. Half way and quitting.

These grids are not entertaining.

12:45 pm

the kh 4/12 doesn't exist

12:46 pm

nm

It’s there bitchon not before—— but kh**ter. Sorry not too good at clueing

I try to make my clues a little obscure but everyone has a different style.

1:04 pm

nm means Bichon figured out it was there

clue any way you want short of spelling the word out, if you can

is my preference.

how much better it would be if the C and the K could just switch places

I’ve never clued before so I tried

Was OK. No worries.

the clues I don't like go "squiggly letter, round letter, sometime-vowel," like that. You might as well just say the letters.

1:18 pm

Those kind of clues are lame, I agree.

1:23 pm

Or sh + ap4 (for aper) which gives 4 letters of a six letter word

saw your feedback molly Guess your the genius

I am not the genius. I don't finish grids.

Like, ever.

Is ho a slur?

I annoy people by pointing out racial and ethnic slurs in the ENABLE dictionary.

We used to have this tradition of the Penalty Box. Once someone joined the game,. got put in the PB and left saying we were a bunch of rigid snobs. Too bad. The PB had cabana boys and mojitos.

1:52 pm

It also had wine etc.

1:52 pm

The PB box sometimes had parties. Love to see it back.

1:59 pm

chiao everyone, bye for now

2:08 pm

The Penalty Box was a lot of fun. Too bad it has become "passe" as someone said. What?

2:10 pm

can someone clue the ca6 pls, i saw the def but still not getting it

2:20 pm

nm, i used morewords :D

2:26 pm

That

2:26 pm

is what it's there for

2:42 pm

Hello

3:35 pm

Howdy, Christa. :)

3:58 pm

Read back on the discussion about cluing words and the different ways thst people do so. My thought has always been that I work the grid, with the chat off, until I can go no further, then I turn the chog on, enjoy the company, and pick the hive mind for clues. Should I feel that the clues are too direct, I simply turn the chat off. Easy peasy.

4:44 pm

🙄🙄🙄

that works Crossy

I was always in the PB when I started because I typed in the wrong box. Someone new got offended that we PB'd her and thought we were a bunch of old cranks, which is basically true, and she left because she felt chastised. But the food in the PB was great. It was kind of fun to catch someone use a word by accident, an extra game.

6:35 pm

hello :)

6:54 pm

hello anyone

7:02 pm

hi mool

7:02 pm

hey nan, happy Sunday

7:06 pm

off to assemble a chicken pie for supper -- back in a bit. Tough grid.

7:06 pm

enjoy :)

8:02 pm

The concept of the Penalty Box was all in good fun. Anyone who got offended by that is overly sensitive.

8:03 pm

8 individual chicken & veggie pies in the oven and the kitchen cleaned up -- a good hours work :)

8:47 pm

hi all

8:48 pm

I loved the Penalty Box.

8:48 pm

I brought cookies

8:49 pm

9:28 pm

9:28 pm

thanks, sue, for letting me know I'm not just yelling into the void. Yes, I searched the chog for "ma5" and even "ma". No one's talking about it

9:29 pm

9:30 pm

It's not maiko or maico, I keep typing them, lol

9:31 pm
