Still working on a fix for 2 things - one - getting clues to run normally and 2 the issue with Babble Expert sending 1 word rather than many

I am glad I never got into playing with Expert. Regular Babble works fine and I could not be bothered with all that trouble to play Expert.
I dont think I ever heard of expert. I think I paid a £1.99 sub about 20 years ago (IIRC) - best investment I ever made!
Yes Lickety Add doesn't add the wods to the list for me either
I imagine Lickety will have to make code changes to Expert as the server has moved for Babble. I don't use Expert because I often play on a Mac, though I have used it in the past. Lickety (and Dr God for that matter) does this out of the goodness of their hearts - I imagine real life gets in the way!
Lickety is having a problem because this new site is https and his solver doesn't work with that. He is looking for one that does.

Lickety's clues come up in a new tab by clicking the link in black below. And if you don't understand tab browsing, I am at a loss. I tried and failed to explain it to Ruby.

MollyL, after the migration to new server, the links at the bottom of the page is not there in Chrome browser. So Lickety disappeared for Chrome users. Maybe that's why the confusion.

It's in red, and it'll take you to the clues.
Part of the problem is that there are people who don't under tab browsing. That is why they use Expert because it's an "all on one screen" kind of thing. They don't get that when you click on the link, the clues come up in a different tab.
Does someone have a link for Babble Expert? All these years and I have never really looked at it to see what all the fuss is about.

yes, not just you. lots of players are reporting expert doesn't work, and lickety, the creator of expert. said it will take him a while to fix it.

you will have to play directly on the website on playbabble.com. then if you need lickety's babble clues, scroll down to the black bar that says Helpful Links (in white) and then click on Lickety's Babble Clues (in red).Then you can copy your word list and paste it into the box on that page that says "bulk add".
It is a Lickety fix and he is working on it. Follow Carla's directions to play the regular way.

Me either. It always came up as an unsafe site so I just never got into it.
the difference is that it gives a little more away. if there are three fe4 in a row, and you enter one, it puts it in the right spot of the three, i believe. so you know more directly what you're missing in relation to the list
I do remember thinking that it made things easier. It also appeals to people who don't get tab browsing.
I know peri and mari were here before me so they definitely played on the website. expert came along a year or two later.

I remember a user profile list and I would put that into a spreadsheet
licketys list page has a web counter since apr 2006
he added the bulk add to that in apr 2007, and the note on the side said expert was in beta, so it was probably at the earliest 2007. so a lot of people played this game several years before expert.
Today if you enter a word in Lickety, it shows up on the web but not on expert.

well, i have one titled "Sanditon" that is by "Jane Austen and Another Lady", so i thought that was cool that she didn't want to put her name to detract from Jane getting the credit, and it's very good. i picked up another version called "Charlotte" and flipped through it at a bookstore and it seemed all wrong - the language was more Shakespearan than Austenian.
