actually surprisingly well. slept through to 7am last night, and that was after a 1 1/2 hour nap when i got home.

I am okay. Rob and I are in a better place, we understand eachother a lot better after talking through the whole birthday thing. Very tired though.

wth? How did that happen? Your pain doc needs to send them a letter, honey. For all the next times.

i don't know how it happened but you can bet your life on me getting some sort of answer from the surgeon. not happy at all.
yeah it does. We need to find that home, move, and get settled. Then, we can organise some support for cleaning, shopping and maybe even walking Nero.
it is close to criminal, rose, to let you struggle without pain meds. I would be so incredibly pissed!
and i told the anaesthetist that i fight the drugs. she just said oh yeah. then afterwards she came into recovery room and said " you wouldn't stop wriggling. i had to dose you three times before you lay still. "
oh for crying out loud... will they never learn to listen? Make sure you let them know and make it part of their dossier on you. Or you will have that every year.
the nurses did get me and endone order, and the doc apparently wrote me up for when necessary tapentadol ( quick release ). yup. i was royally pissed off.
you should be. And please do not let it slide. Because you know you will go there every year for this, and you don't need this added pain and stress.
presumably i will have the same anaesthetist next time. but you are right. i will remind her every year that's for sure.
yeah and also do it now, in writing. And insist they add it to their files.

hey, they can do that themselves. Hospitals are supposed to have cleaning stuff for that.
the whole thing was a joke, but not a funny one. after fasting me from midnight (which means no breakfast), when i finally returned to the ward i found that the nurses had forgotten to order my lunch. so i sat there until 2pm when i did the Rose thing. Got myself dressed, packed my bag, then went down to the nurses station to ask for my discharge papers.
you totally rock. But omg that is horrible.
what did they say?
there was a nurse there who made the mistake of asking me did i need help. at which point i burst into tears and said i just want to go home.
awwww darling. And then?
you see, sprite, on the Wednesday night my youngest boy (man) was involved in a car accident which wrote off his car. he's fine, some pretty bad bruising from the seatbelt, but that was all.
thank God it ended like that. Tim had the same thing three weeks ago.
then Thursday morning we found out the other driver had died after he was transported to hospital. and all Josh couuld say "i want Mum. I need to talk to Mum"
oh that is bad! And of course he needs his mum.
you see, it was peak hour. there was alane full of cars waiting to turn right, and when Josh turned into the main road, the left and middle lane had cars in them. so Josh moved over. then this twit of a driver decided to do a blind u turn through the traffic. Josh had nowhere to go.
yeah, it happens like that. Nothing you can do about it.
so there i was, stuck in hospital, quite well enough to go home, knowing my son needed me. i was desperate.
and underfed and undermedicated too.
sidenote: no pacman, no meme, enable is so behind the times
well that too. it's amazing i didn't lose all self control. i could have just walked i guess, except all my meds were locked in a drawer, and i needed the nurse to unlock it. not to mention i still had my IV bung in my hand.
did they realise they had dropped the ball?
and so ends my tale of woe. now i just have to wait for the pathology results. that will be another week. i have already made my appointment with the surgeon.
if they send me a feedback request they will get both barrels.

oh just a side note.... i requested to be admitted to a different hospital but the receptionist at the surgeon's rooms made a mistake and booked me into this hospital. next year i will insist on the hospital i had chosen initially. i just wanted to get this done and dusted, so i didn't object too loudly.
