Hi All
Clues are up
to7
ty lickety
nbt, nbs
thanks Lickety. Morning babblers
"titbone" should be a word...just sayin'.
good morning dear friends. * hugs * sprite
*hugs rose* hello dear friend. I am doing a quick babble because we will not have power for the rest of the morning.
good morning, granny!
actually also good evening to my friends
hey jeanne. how are you doing?
understand sprite. it is a fast grid. i'm sure you are just about there already.
three quarters, but the last part is always slow
doing well. Got to do some sewing today!
how was the birthday boy and the rest of the family?
struggling to find that to7...
* giggle * jeanne. i moved my sewing machine into a more accessible place over a week ago. it there it stands.
jeanne, think pillow
ends in the ends of a fork
I sew all the time. It's my zen place. Take a few deep breaths, go over and set your tools out just to where you like them, prepare your fabric and plans....and dive in! It is my catharsis. I tried so many "arts," but somehow fabric clicked. I make actual "things," quilts, and for fun am doing collages. There's the art part!
oh! Thanks for the clue! Was thinking it was what you were going to sew...LOL
all good sprite. found out another lie my ex fed to my kids. he told them he had paid for our block of land on which we built our house. I PAID THE DEPOSIT FROM MY SAVINGS, and then had a bank lend us the rest of the payment, based on MY income.
he is a big fat liar, he is
was, darling, was. he can't tell lies from the grave. but it does make me wonder what he told my eldest to make hin disinclined to talk to me for 15 years.
Thanks to granny and sprite, I have done learnt me a new word!
nah he still is. Lying through his teeth in between the flames :)
"No it is not hot here!"
probably to his parents. i'm pretty sure they were goats...lol
*giggles*
i know he told my youngest i was a racist. fortunately that son wasn't so gullible. he worked out that i was the opposite for himself.
yeah it is up to your eldest to grow up and make up his own mind. He is long past the age that believing his father's words without testing is no excuse
i think he has done that sprite. his attitude has changed a lot since his father died. but i still feel intimidated by the threat of him removing his permission to visit his home, and see my grand-daughter.
*bites tongue*
i have been denied the right to speak my mind about the situation leading up to my divorce. but only with him. the other two accept that it took two to tango. and i openly admit i wasn't the perfect person. i was so young, immature, and lacking in understanding. you see i had thought i could trust everyone. if my mother was cruel it was something i expected. and she was quite open about her attitude to me, and my siblings. but not to my father.
fireflies. Just in time. 8 am the power will be shut off, lol
WTG SPRITE !!!
I know, honey. *hugs* and sleep well tonight. See you on the other side, lol.
i hate saying i told you so... giggle.... but i told you so.
hope your day allows you time to rest sweetheart. bye for now.
jeanne, you all good? or may i help you?
nope, she's gone too. ttfn everyone. catch you at the next flip.
Phantom nobody
how meta
"doobie" not FOUND in the DICtionary???
yeah.. that one went up in smoke
but just drop one letter from it.. how random
thanks dorens
hey good morning doren
I still don't understand how pitot is not a word
yw harsh, morning to you both
why what is pitot
and hi ata!
did you finish your grid yesterday doren?
yes I did,ru
oh great.. didn't know if you were too busy or not again.
even though the first day of high dose radiation knocked me around a bit. Second dose today at noon - hope I've acclimated to it already
oh boy.. ugh
Have tickets to see Johns Oliver and Seth Meyer son Sunday evening and I'm determined to make it
oh, only one John.
I really like John Oliver brilliant guy
yeah love his show
He really is. He reminds me of (my son) David, but David doesn't see it.
morning, babblers!
morning eva
how are we today?
David is less silly than John OLiver.. but I see what you mean... I'm looking forward to seeing him..
Oh David can be VERY silly when with the family.
I'm doing okay here Eva. Been better, but been worse too. How are you?
yes I've seen that.. but still
now why is bitone not a word? two tone?
im....hanging in there. lots going on, not the least of which is transitioning my mother to Hospice care.
oh, so sorry to hear that evanadine
OH sorry, I know that's rough. But hospice is so much better than the alternatives we had back when my mother in law was dying in the early 70's. It helped so much with my dad. Still, a hard time
sorry eva
my dad passed 2 years ago. he was only in hospice 2 days, but those people are angels on earth. mom is definitely earlier in the process, so i think we've got some time....but its been a rough year with her, so its been a lot on our plate.
gosh you seem so young to already be going through that
im prob older than you think. ;) but mom is 86
yes, the sandwich generation is supposed to be older. Sorry you have to deal with this at this time
Eva you're 46. That's around my kids' ages. Too young
I agree ... doesn't seem fair
my mom just turned 97
the joy of having older parents. and the gap between kieran + me is only a little smaller than between me + my mom...so im taking lots of notes of how to set things up for myself as he gets older.
But unfortunately, we can't pick it. I was 30 when my mother in-law passed and I stayed out there at her house the last week. I definitely was not trained hospice, but we did what we could
I hope you do have a lot more time eva...
phantom: tiptoe
initiation is a phantom to me
I tried tipitoe
i just have 2 left, a B and a T
I can't get that second column, fourth row I
loosely independent film doren
like a non-hollywood film
I'm missing one t, probably the same one hursh
oh man I usually find that one too thanks
fork prong and Freud's favorite word
yup that was it
ah thanks
*hugs eva and dorens*
back at you, ata
phantom: bidet
aHA done
welki and I were just talking about you the other day ata
hello Ata!
not a bad grid.. just a couple snarky tiles
:D
I see the convo about caring for our older parents. So rewarding most times.
you've made it work bea.. but I guess that your Mom is a really nice person and easy to get along with.
my mom is wonderful. but its been really hard to see her decline over the last year or so. and while shes still mostly pretty sharp/lucid, her cognitive skills are definitely declining, so we are reaching the point where we need to just start removing her access to things so we can handle them + she doesnt bugger them...
hello, right out of the gate I'm seeing phantoms, like nobody
Hello all. help with to7 please
thanks, that's that word where a group inherits something
ends in fork part
ty carla. and it has been in grids before
yep, I learned it here, but have seen it on tv shows, etc. since
gotta go deal with whineston and then get ready for golf. TTFN
good morning - just have half an hour so here goes
Namaste
to 7 is also the title of a Costain novel
babble time at SFO - hi, everyone!
where are you heading from SFO?
*poof*
well, I'm back and only 4 posters since I left.
hey hokie
(if ch1212 is lurking, on my way back to alberta)
welki!
92F, feels like 99 here.
yuck - too hot for me. weather in CA was beautiful (and it was nearly 90 in alberta while i was away, so glad i was away for it)
yeah, seems like northern CA is always cold in the summer.
don’t know why, but my posts aren’t going through. so, sorry if i repeat - how’d you golf today?
about the same as usual. just played 9. Had some good shots and some not good ones.
putting terribly still
same as me. my short game is great, but my drives are generally pathetic
but this is our neighboring sister course and they just aerated the greens last week. they did something to the fairways too, so there's a lot of sand in holes or lines.
best tip i ever received (from mr. welki) about putting is to stop aiming for the cup and try to just get within 3 feet of the pin. more often than not, i either get really close or sink them
my drives are usually good and I can hit a good 2nd shot with 3 wood, but everything else is not great
my fairway shots are hit and miss - mostly miss :D
yeah, I definitely overhit most all of my putts, so I should start trying that
sounds like golfing will put a wedge in between you?
i can’t explain it, but i can do the math on the greens and judge slope/angle really well.
I did have some good wedge shots today. maybe I'm figuring it out.
I'm usually decent at reading greens, just can't figure out speed.
hey ru - the kid really likes you
aw.. thanks she's great too.. tell her thanks for the flowers.. I just trimmed them and put in fresh water
(and the leftovers made a great salad)
That's what I was hoping... you hardly ate a thing
i had plenty
and you didn't have much champagne either
maybe she was afraid you were poisoning her so she had to make sure no one keeled over.
that’s why i watched him serve and let him eat first
LOL get a food tester like Trump before you come next time
that champagne was deeelicious, wish i hadn’t been driving
although a food tester for trump would only know diet coke and McDonalds
is that bottle something i could find up here?
hmmm … maybe i shouldn’t even ask, you said it was pretty special
I kind of doubt it.. it's a tiny producer.
it's $175 a bottle
<— is better off with a beer and shot of fireball :)
I'll stick to my ciders
sorry ..it's $135 not $175
your daughter was hoping you'd make it your house champagne welks
the house you stayed at was right on the water.. looked awesome
she liked the rose, too - lil wino
the Rose is $15 and one of my favorite house wines
the views were absolutely amazing. that seal beach was the one you could see
you have nice friends
sounds lovely
the kid has good friends, i was the freeloader
well tell her hi and it was very nice to meet her. Great to see you too.
we loved your pups
thanks.. they're great dogs...
i gotta straighten up before the cleaning lady gets here.
Safe travels Welks
poofskie
later, toots
Cleaning up for the cleaning lady always makes me laugh
yeah, I always hated that. it was more like decluttering so the cleaning lady could clean
I would need to get a decluttering lady to sort my house out before I got in a cleaning lady. Sadly I can afford neither, so I’ll continue to be as cluttered and cob-webby as usual
my biggest problem is the never ending supply of golden retriever hair
hi all, diving in
Soodle - You just read my mind. I'm the same these days. x
Bit late to the game BDGwen!
I'm here for a short while to provide clues if anyone needs them.
de 5/16 please
and bi 5/14
Hi cyber nan. de5/26 is a god, ending in the sometimes vowel. Bi 5/14 might be what someone says to you re getting rid of something you've kept for too long.
got the god, ty
The bi5 means binary eight. But also perhaps 'just chuck it away!'
thought chuck away was ditch
Cybernan - where do you put things you want to throw away? In the 'bi*'!
And if it's just one item you would bi* it.
got it ty
Hope you get it as spelled out since it's almost time for the flip.x
Well done, cybernan. Anything more needed or are you done?
pi 6/21 please?
found it - done in the nick of time :) Thanks for the help.
pi5/21 organic compound found in pine trees. Add a consonant and a vowel at the end.
Well done and you're welcome. xx
