In Texas, the earliest they can start is the 3rd week in August. This is typical. And still too crazy hot. IDK about the nails. Just regretted being there mid-day. Next year I'll time it better!

nc schools are like the monday closest to aug 26, va schools where I grew up are early august. tn schools next to where I grew up are aug 1, which is crazy to me.
I think school has started here in sc too. I've never lived anywhere that's after labor day. I think that's a northern thing.
It seems weird to start them, then immediately get Labor Day off.

the worst one I read on wedding shaming, molly, was a 19yo college student saying her sister was having an adults only wedding and didn't invite her because she was not 21. but then she sent a link to the registry and argued with the sister that she expected a gift from her.
of note: the wedding was dry so why would a 19 yo family member not be invited? since when are people not invited expected to give a gift? since when are children expected to give a gift?
I saw several like that. And the parents always think that surely no one means THEIR children should be excluded.
