Clue for in 10, please
havent got that far yet but am not looking forward to it lol
I just found in9.
Guess I should say "an in9". Don't know if there are others.
too many works! LOL and hi y'all
I have the in 9, but the list says there is an in 10.
Allrighty then. thx!
Got it! Starts the same as the 9 but ends with what you have in court.
nbt woot
wtg!
Thanks, been looking for quite a while.
ty all for the in10 clues
and the 9
corner done woot
nbs woot
*corners done
BBL. 90 left.
halfway done. see y'all next time
Done, thanks for the clue, i think this is the hardest puzzle I have seen in a long time. or maybe the brain is not that sharp today?
could I have a hint on the in9 ?
it means to forbid, but maybe if you fool around with - within webster's - you might get it
to prohibit or forbid....starts with the word for bury....
Thank you
yw...
this is a very hard grid today
I agree!
yes....no fun to be stalled at 113!
I played last night and am at 107
hoping to see more on my laptop than I did on the ipad
i hate to tell you, but the grid is the same...
lol, I know, but I can see it better
and type faster
you brought me luck....found 7 more words... ;o)
made it down to 101
on just 2 tiles
52 here
nice
phantom tendril
me too
and lenient
and tenant...
yep
and medical...
had not seen that one
lots of phantoms here...
yep
phantom: mendicant
nope
don't think I've ever seen that word anywhere
ooh, grayed the first col L
just found the an 9....didn't think that the root could be made into a comparative....
Latin roots are both helpful and very annoying in babble
so is the root a 6? I don't have any 9s yet
That's the only other 9 I've got, pen. Sounds weird too
like being pregnanter....
guessing I don't have the root
starts with the A on the right...
old as balls is the technical term
think I'll do wordle and come back
wordle's tough today too
anyone know the word that broke the most successful wordle streaks in 2024?...learned this on Who Wants to be a Millionaire...
yes, I saw that and I was surprised at what it was
me, too....
What was the word?
corer...
corer
I can see that.
yeah, gonna have to go back to that after 3 guesses
guess there were too many possiblities if one guessed teh R and the E....
I remember losing my original streak on FOYER
now that one looks harder to find...
C and O or not often letters that I would use.
not use
well if I had the ER, I might try the O....
but I don't really play wordle much...
just checked my archive - I failed it
yeah, and then there's about a million combos for _O_ER
last 4 guesses were CODER COMER COWER COVER
I often struggle to remember to repeat letters
very true...and people might have tried A or I instead of O....
I didn't know you could check your previous plays. How do you do it, carla?
on the games drop down menu you can see wordle archives. I googled what day it was - Oct 15 of last year.
you remembered the day???
you might have to click the arrow on the right to expand under wordle
no, I googled "what day was corer the wordle answer"
ah, ok...
for a minute, I thought it might have been a traumatic experience for you.. ;oP
no, I gave up worrying about streaks around the time NYT bought it because my stats didn't transfer over like they were supposed to
have you subscribed to the site because I haven't and it appears it won't let me look at it
back to this one - why is the upper E so hard?
yes, I have a games sub
well that sounds like a nice feature but not sure I'm ready to subscribe.
I did games only when they had a special and then when they try to raise I threaten canceling and then they let me keep that deal
now they try to get me to subscribe to the whole thing for cheap but I don't
lol sounds like my experience with subscribing to Sirius radio
i do....when they want $25 a month, i unsubscribe...then they offer me $6 a month within a week's time...
and that's for the digital edition of the NYT...
when mine is about to expire, i start the dance, too - until they cave and give me the $30/year CAD i've had for years. i hope they keep up the good work :)
CAD?
canadian dollars
yeah, I canceled my siriusxm the other day and they gave me 3 more offers, the lowest being $6.99/mo. I think I was paying like $24.
ah...excellent!
I got an offer for $3.99 mo. from Sirius and jumped on that
oh, found that en6 that reminds me of california
and it has a 7
it doesn't cost them anything to sell it cheaper to you....at least they make a little money off you....
I'm so over their DJs, will just use my spotify when I drive
i wish i had taken advantage of the $300 lifetime sirius subscription when they first started out
wow that would be amazing, welki!
"it'll never last," she said
I don't rem that deal in the US. but when they started, they were separate and my car had XM.
that was in the states, carla - many, many years ago (maybe early 2000s)
but kowning me, I probably wouldn't have taken advantage of that offer at the time either
yeah, I think my minivan I got in 2001 was the first radio I had with XM
wow, still need 16 more c's
i need 15...
blech. i have 75 left (12 c words) and can't see a thing. going to do some chores - later, everyone
bye welki
bye, welki...
welk
i am "down" to 94...
does anyone know if the in 10 works off the in 9 plz
the prefix is the same...
that's the first five letters...
so far i have that lol. its the rest that has me stumped
well, you're way ahead of me. still no 9s, and only 1 8.
the second part is a real word...
i have never heard of the combination....
phantom initial
well, just found a prefix and tried a bunch of regular words with it but no luck
same here hokie
scream it out if you find it lol
I will
the second part has to do with a court proceeding...
thanks, pen
or should i say IS a court proceeding...
are there any against words?
I've only found the 4 letter one
and the 6 that I don't what it means but has those 4 letters
i have found one an 7 that starts with the against word...
thanks
thanks penquis!! that helped !!
it's not against beer because I tried that last night
i guess it's a real word...
hmm i see neither beer ale stout nor alcohol
ale is right there
oops divided attention. time to run to p o before it (hopefully) rains
ok, the in9 - you said had same prefix. is last 4 a real word?
no...think forbid....
or prohibit...
that is the definition for the whole word...
ok, will have to let that percolate too
i have forbid
i think. more like accuse of a crime, formally charge
well, that helped me with the ending, thx
no, that is a different word, TO....
got it ty
yw...
a word i should know from work duh
well i need a lunch break....bye all....
later all
bye pen!
and TO
think I will move on for a while too. still 81.

the in10 is you have this when you got to court ..and hope you get a fair on

the in9 has nothing to do with the in10, apart from the prefix
N in 4th column please
Wow peri, I'm impressed with your Wordle performance. What was your first word guess?
i have na5

Luv it was baker
Nice job!

well, bea if it makes you feel better, I played last night and this morning and still have 68 left.
i vote for that to be the official song of babble
agree!
stretch phantom: incendiary
also indecency
that's even more of a stretch, that's a Gumby phantom
a lot of phantoms today
yep. iceland isn't a word, btw.

My brain feels fried from this grid.
a 9! i found a 9!
well, now that you mention it, of course I've heard of her
WooHOO!!! which one hursh?
I only have 1 - IN9
that's the one
I have that and the an
against something? before something?
do not have that one either
No. If you have an 7 it builds off that and looks stupid to me.
I have one an7
but i haven't got a 7
but it is against something
i tried ar5's sister andrina but that did not work
an7 I have is like pro bus or plane
maybe there are two an7 then and you each have a different one
Another word for old
ok i got hokie's
oh yeah, someone mentioned that earlier and I said I would let it percolate. apparently that didn't work.
and also against what we breathe
alll I can think about is antique, which it's clearly not
really REALLY old
like the pyramids
woot woot
that makes 3 an7 so far
it finally came to me
that is a dumb comparative
phantom: arnica
This game is full of dumb words. Yet people keep playing. And the beat goes on.
oh i just found that in7 that i gave a SILLY clue for a few days back
from which i?
oh, I rem and have it
still need 1 i from each
that's better than me, i need 2 and 1
oh found another, ok, 1 of each
well, haven't seen you mention the 10, so that is one of yours
hmm, in6ment would re-use the same N...
is it in5 something, like the 9?
yes
Champ clued it earlier as a legal word
2nd part is regular word
thanks, got it!
so now what is my missing i?
I have all IN
um, hokie maybe you need the in6/18 that comes at or near the end of the i words
I have one after the 4 babblet
ok um... idk what you would miss then
the one i wanted for in6ment?
legal also
no, have both spellings of that and a one who from one
or maybe the second in5/12
duh, same in5 I missed the other day
not a big studio version
first col gray!
oh then which L word am i missing?
might take a min to sort them out
maybe li5 that is a reptile with a missing letter?
no, i have that
or li6 dumb adj
the one that is describing something in a straight li4?
have that
they are all li
no, fabric related
or no you mean li6/24
that's dumber, yeah, but i have that too
yes, that one
word that looks like alt sp of fabric?
yep, got that
i shudder to think how normal it must be
2 5/10s at the top?
yes
yeah, the rest are normal
ok i got it
i don't think a person who makes li4 is normal
yeah, I'm not sure what that one actually means. not normal but I assumed you try that suffix on everything.
erm, not always i guess
still need 5 from each of the other 2 Ls
oh i need 2 and 4
have you got the legume? and change the last letter for a 6/21?
did not have, thx
on the right there's one rhymes with a person in a certain military branch

I have la6 that diabetics use
yes
try as i might i can't find any words to do with the dairy thing
yes, have tried with -tant at least 2x
I dont believe there is any end to this horrid grid.
I agree, nancy
well if you openly insult it, it's not going to want to cooperate with you
HAHA good one like that could actual happen.
grids have feelings too
nope
first pass complete, 41 left
40. suppose i will get some dinner for self and kittoes
not seeing in9 even with clues
The in9 and 10? I have the in9. Is the 10 similar?
No. The first 5 letters are the same.
in9 ends in the first 4 of the book you look words up in
ty got it finally
Thank you. Now the clues make sense after the fact.

91 here...
there is another me7 in that group that ends like the 9 but just doesn't have some other letters
thx hursh
idk why a ca9 possibility that i tried isn't a word. i mean ordinate is, and ordinal and ca8 are the two kinds of numbers like that, so...
Because enable is stupid.
One ni sounds like peanut butter and...
ooh forgot about that one
ty, molly...
I never remember that one.
it is an odd one
IF THAT IS THE NI 6 I ASKED HELP WITH, STILL NOT GETTING IT. IS IT THE NI 4 WITH SOME CRAZEY ENDING?
so if there is another ni6 that is my last N
nancy, did you watch Who's the Boss?
Nancy, what's up with the shouting?
and do you remember Tony Danza's character's last name?
it ends like that
Not shouting just caps so i can see the grid better.
watched that show but do not remember his last name,
well just make it like an italian last name then lol
HAS A DOUBLE CONSONANT AND ENDS IN A VOWEL...(not shouting either)...hope that helps...
it's so funny how i cannot not take it as shouting even when i know
To me, caps are used for emphasis. So if you're using them for a whole sentence...seems like shouting. To me.
but it also makes sense that someone might find it helpful for their vision
it does, but sometimes, if eyesight is an issue, it makes sense to use caps...
my wanderoos are having no luck finding a second ni6
there is only one ni 6 and i have the tony last name but still am not getting it right
oh
well that explains the no luck
NANCY....DID YOU SEE MY CLUE?...DOUBLE CONSONANT INSIDE THE WORD AND IT ENDS IN A VOWEL...
nillei
MOVE THE I TO THE SECOND LETTER....
Oh, MEANT MOVE THE E....
MOVE THE E TO THE THIRD SPACE...
yes finally got the right sequence
ty for the tutoring
you're very welcome...

thank you!
yw....just lucked out on that one this morning...
cool
half an hour and only 12 words. i guess time to give in, hate using list for so many words.
it is a slog...
65 to list? total bore
but grateful to have found 228
cool....
break time. again, i'd rather be reading
I listed at 49. Tired of looking at it! And so far it's just words I'd overlooked in the morning frenzy.
i seem to be finding the oddments
for the most part but no 10 yet
okay break time
well i am stuck at only 111 words and going to sleep
Good evening, Babble friends. :) Been a tough day for one of our labradors. He tore all the tendons in the lower part of his left leg, and was operated on today. He is currently crated to restrict his movement post-op and has a bunch of good drugs on board, but he still cries in his sleep. Poor puppy. Poor mummy and daddy, was a $4,600.00 touch at the vet. :(
whoa!...sorry about your dog, crossy....
Sorry to hear that, crossie. I hope he handles his recovery time ok. It's so hard to restrict a dog's movement.
i am down to one word....can't find en 6/21...it's either the first or second one....
found it...i am done...
Congrats pen! This is a tough one for me.
They did a T.P.L.O procedure that bypasses the need for tendons in that leg. He may have a bit of a limp afterwards, but the leg will be stable and will bear his weight with no issues.
Yaa for pen!
i remember my brother's dog had to be treated by a neurologist....it was also pricey....
ty, crossy....
well it's great that his outlook is good...
He is only seven, so this will save him a lot of issues down the road.
i bet....still some good years left...
The other leg will also need doing down the road.
are leg problems typical with labs?...
Brings back memories; the money flowing out made it feel like we had kids in the house again. :)
lol...
They can be. They quite ofen have issues in their hind ends--especially the big males.
Our boy weighs 85 pounds, wheras the girl is only 60 pounds.
quite a difference...
well i am heading out...goodnight all....
Indded, but even at 85 pounds our boy still falls within the weight parameters the vets uses. He is just large for a chocolate lab.
Goodnight, Pen.
@ crosshair, sending healing thoughts to your fur baby.
Ty, Christa. :)
