good morning babblers
en ook voor jou een goedemorgen, lieve vriend.
aw sweetie, how beautiful, a dutch morning greeting! Lovely to see you. How are you feeling?
at the moment pretty good. have just eaten a small tub of yoghurt. staying down, and no nausea.
wow, progress! Glad to hear it. You had me worried for a bit.
AND Don ate his lunch next to me, without me gagging..lol
roflolol
how's the packing and sorting going?
that yoghurt is the first solid food since Saturday night's dinner.
we are going strong. I sold all my nail salon stuff yesterday, and caya came and picked up most of my yarn stack. We have a good planning. And today, Tim comes to help us bring stuff to the thriftstore and the... whatitcalled... where the waste is dumped
tip? garbage dump?
ugh darling, what an ordeal. Glad you are starting to climb up the other side of the abyss
tip, I think. It is complicated here. You have to sort out your garbage before handing it in.
are you having to hire a truck for the rubbish?
we have a little trailer that we can pull ourselves with the car, that should suffice
yeah. pretty much what we have to do here as well. makes me wonder just what do we get for the money for council rates.
if ever anything happens here, we will have to hire a skip... extra large. lol
I am gonna leave the sorting to Tim and Rob. One thing I have learned over the years is to stop trying to control it all and spend my energy on every aspect. THey will let me know if they need my input. I will just point :D
* giggle * like point to a room, and say that's your job. sort and empty that please
almost, lolol. I will point and say: that is for the thriftstore, and that is for the tip. ENjoy, boys.
i am pleased to see this. i have to admit being a tad anxious for you. it's a big job.
Tim has booked the hotel for us for the moving weekend. And he has rented the moving truck. Rob is working on getting us cars to stack the moving boxes onto, to make it easier for the kids to get them in place
it is huge, honey. But we are managing pretty okay. Step by step, and allowing Tim to take a bit of a leading role. He likes that, grinnnnn
well done. forward planning is such a good idea. saves a lot of fretting.
it's good for Tim to feel that his input is important. bless him. if you remember please give him a hug from me as my thanks for helping you.
we are all thinking ahead and brainstorming on how to do it most wisely. The kids are taking on responsibilty for us, the old folks, and apart from thinking how very sweet it is, I have to admit it is kind necessary too. We are not in our twenties anymore.
and a great idea to move into a hotel for that weekend.you will have some where quiet, and comfortable to head for after a long day.
it is even better, Rose. The kids don't want us underfoot during the move. We are to leave for the hotel, stay there and only come to the new home after everything has been put in
as Tim put it: it is the only way to keep the two of us from carrying stuff too heavy for us
are any of us? in our 20's still? well bits of me might be, but the kit and kaboodle is well used.
our spirit is unbroken and always young, lolol. The rest... well... let's sau well used is putting it midly
say* and mildly*. Back in da days, I could even spell
yep. passed a lot of water over the years... roflol
hmmmm i wonder just how much ? would be amusing to work the numbers...
I am very happy with the kids and how much they are willing to help us. They are taking good careof us.
I once read a fascinating article on holy water. It was about how much water must have passed through Jesus during his life and how the cycle of water through the world means that we all have at least a drop of that water in us now. And if you add all the other holy persons and saints etc, it is pretty amazing
oh, and btw, the human bowel seems to hold 3 1/2 kgs of weighty matter. i found that out the hard way. weighed myself Saturday morning, then after that night, weighed myself again. 3 1/2 kgs gone.
*giggles* well thanks for passing on that tidbit. All 7 pounds of it.
yeah, must remember to tell my doc to take off 3 1/2 kgs the next time she weighs me. *snort * like that's gonna happen.
lol of course not. You earned the right to claim that loss, honey. You suffered for it.
oh btw, I have finished translating the first part of my book. Wanna read it?
ooohhhh. yes please.
which format would work best for you?
hmmm, a pdf if via gmail.
no problem
thanks
okay, on its way
wish you well with your move Sprite - we lived in the same house for 46 years and the amount of junk we had to get rid of was mind boggling - took me weeks and weeks before the move to sift through
hiya ursh! Oh i know! We went through all that when we moved out of our home into the caravan 5 years ago. Threw away about 95% of what we owned. Things are not half as bad now. Still a lot of work though.
btw, if there are any babblers here who like to read fantasy and would enjoy being beta readers, send me an email. My addy is near the bottom of my profile.
it's arrived sprite. am going to enjoy reading this very much.
makes me very very happy to be able to share it with you.
it is weird, I use my downtime in between doing all the moving chores for translating. You'd think that is work too. But it gives me so much energy.
that makes sense. you are actually switching off the stress of moving totally when you start translating.
very true.
oh roflolllll Rob is reading a column. A teacher asks his class what is the function of the beeping sounds that some crossing lights sport. Answer from a student: that is for when you are on your phone, you don't have to look up then to see it is safe to cross
oh good grief !
I swear, the next generation will be born with the communication devices as part of their flesh :D

well I don't have either so probably
thanks
Carla, did you see my passionflower pictures on FB.
I didn't. Will look. I have gotten a million friend requests and haven't accepted any. I don't have any FB friends or post anything outside of the sewing groups. I should just accept them all and tell everyone how they will never see anything interesting.
lol
the more you interact with FB the more it will spy on you
if i weren't socially enmeshed in it already i wouldn't start now
I have no problem with that. I just saw your name and clicked.
You ae exactly right, hurshy.
BTW, I mentioned to you before these weird things I had growing that looked like single rose shoots with no blooms. Mr. homie cut a bunch of them down and said they were growing all in these bushes. Google tells me it is smilax.
smilax sounds like it should be the name of an alien race on doctor who
phantom: myeloma
While mom was in hospital, a doctor came in and introduced himself. Before long, I got a FB note that said I might want to friend him.
For sure, I watched and read a ton of stuff last year about hurricane helene and now my feed is all doom and gloom from all over the country. Like I get a lot of TV stations show up with local articles that are nowhere near me but when I look closer they are places I traveled this summer.
yeah, I've had too many creepy things like that happen. I absolutely believe that is true. I even deleted the app from my phone for a while but reinstalled because I was doing a sewing pattern test and needed to see posts from the pattern maker while I was out. anyhoo, deleting app from phone again right now.
oh, found my last H
and my E. thought that was a phantom because it goes two ways.
what was the H
now just 3rd row and 4th row
it was a 4. I think of a chopper but not sure what it is exactly.

Got to close my eyes...

2-5-3 left
does anyone have ch5 14
oh, found a c set finally
my lasst c
that's what I just found but it has a plural, so can't be your last. must be another.
Fun story peeps! About 11 days ago my dog stepped on a bee and was stung (that's not the fun part, I'm not a sadist). He was insulted and in pain, but otherwise no reaction. We had a half-mile walk home, but we ran into a woman who happened to work in an animal hospital, and she told me to give him 25mg of benadryl when we got home and to watch him for signs of a delayed reaction to the sting. I gave him the benadryl wrapped in cheese, and he was fine and dandy within a few hours. Flash forward to yesterday, when I was out for a solo walk and saw a man trying to figure out a problem with his dog. I asked him if the dog was sick and he said she had been stung by a bee in her mouth a couple of blocks away. I started giving him my wise benadryl advice and he looked at her and said, "She's going down." She was panting heavily and sagging onto the sidewalk. I ran home (a block and a half, but I am not a runner), grabbed 2 benadryl and a slice of cheese, and ran back. By this time the dog was on her side. The man had to force the cheese and benadryl in (probably because she was stung inside her mouth so she didn't want anything in there) and then his wife pulled up and they rushed her off to urgent care (25 minutes away). Long long story short. The dog was able to walk into the pet hospital on her own by the time they got there, they gave her more benadryl and sent her home on a 5 day benadryl regimen, and she should be okay. I told Ricky (my dog) what a brave and good thing he did by getting stung, because if he hadn't, I would never have known how to help.
the other ch5 14
wow
that's a wonderful outcome, nrkii. well done
i have the one youre referring to
poor doggos, who knew bees were so bad for them
so what is the 8?
u want a clue for the 8?
just what it starts with, unless it's weird
ch8
plural of a ch7
ah well then those are MY missing c words! lol
you may not get it, its a pretty weird word
ah but you don't know my wanderoos

ch8 is pretty delicious
never would have guessed that would be a food
yeah we make it every week
well i feel pretty stuckish for the last 5
MMANT
I'm stuck at 7: HTMMAAS
there are two ways to spell rocky for the S
have them both
and you can past tense the burgling word in its normal irregular way but also in an unexpected regular way
yep, got those too
well maybe st5/12 then
On the N's, there are 5 NO-4 words in a row
ah thanks
have you got am5
I think I missed a more obvious S word
ooh, no
got it!
1 se, 1 sn, the rest st
aHA, my last A was an5/16
oof, I was missing an ST5 that I thought I had already entered
needed that too!
4 left, 1 5 and 3 6
just one H, eh? there are 2 H6 words, he6 is a plural, ho6 is normal
heh, ever look at a word that ends that way like Ho6 and think, no, you can't make a superlative out of that
I do that a LOT
if the person who runs the town is the mayor then couldn't the rest of the townspeople be called mayees
i usually type in the normal word like ho6, and then later think of it as a superlative and be like heck, might as well try it, and it's like "hey you already have that"
mo6 - a bunch of different things
ah thanks
gtg
