night, nan! *hugs sprite* SPRITE! Hello!!
hiya rbud :)
hiya rebel :)
I just found out that a little group of people in our new community go outside every tuesday morning to sing Dona Nobis Pacem together. Guess where I will be evere tuesday morning once we are living there :)
oh how excellent, sprite!
well, how cool is that?!
isn't it! I was sent a pic of them last tuesday, in raincoats, witth umbrella's, singing happily :D I can so relate. With the singing, and wiith the silliness of doing it in all weather, who cares.
that sounds so awesome!
*happy sprite*
*gently kickes the Gs into better behaviour*
how have you been sprite?
mmm tough question. Things have been pretty taxing, especially physically, so lots of pain etc. But somehow I am getting so much energy from our new home. I feel amazing on the inside :)
and how are you doing? School fun?
I can TOTALLY relate to that one. with a new house, new possibilities, but the physicality of moving sucks rocks. i remember how i felt after we moved into the house. we (my sister and i), both felt like we were run over by the moving truck with all of our stuff still in it.
fi4flies. Fun little grid, not as easy as it looks
school IS fun! all of my classes are n the same building right now. so i don't have to walk very far to get to any of my classes. and my intro to cinema class is a LOT of work, but i'm learning SO MUCH!
lol exactly. I have moved house 25+ times in my life. I hate it with a passion. But this time, we move to our forever home or so I hope, and it is worth it
oh that is awesome, good that you don't have to move too far. Lots of work isn't too bad, especially if it is something you love and which is interesting. Glad you are going strong.
poofing with hugs!
and cinema is the only online class i have this semester, but it is a TON of work.
hugs, sprite!
yay, listless fireworks... laters, all!
later, rbud!
fireworks! yay! now i can try to get some rest before my procedure! later ya'll! poof!
UGH- procedure.
UGH - doctor's in general
UGH - dealing with insurance
UG- pharmacies. My doctors are fabulous. My pharmacy- traumatizing.
The current climate around sleep medications will keep one up all night.
I have the same pcp for 30 years. My pharmacy got really rude.
My pharmacy has gone downhill. They rarely answer the phone and when they do, it's someone who speaks unintelligible broken English

We must just be lucky pharmacy-wise. We can order meds with an app or in person on the phone. They have a compounding lab so they can custom made meds for chidren in a more palatable format (gummies, lollys, etc) plus, if you live in town they will deliver your meds to your door for free. If you run short on meds due to doctors being away, they will check your med history and front you enough until your doctor gets back from vacation.
My beloved is scheduled for a CT today. We just go to reception, get registered get a wrist band, and it is in and out in fifteen minutes--zero paperwork. Sometimes it is worth it paying a little exta on the taxes.
That sounds humane, crossahair!
As it should be. Everyone should have timely healthcare made easy.
good morning everyone -- have the same situation here re: pharmacies, crossy -- guess it is a Canadian medicare thing.
hello folks
It is less expensive to the person and the country by not having to wait until it becomes so serious that it becomes ten times more expensive to treat or clogs up hospital beds when a quick outpatient visit can take care of things with prompt attention.
Howdy, Hurshy
yes but in the US we don't REALLY care what's less expensive. we just want to make sure nobody gets anything they don't DESERVE. i mean what if they are a lazy good-for-nothing SOB?
I wish this for our American cousins--someday very soon.
me too
Well, Hurshy, our country discovered a long time ago that dead people do not pay taxes. :)
neither do lazy SOBs
you understand i am not expressing MY viewpoint...
And since we only have 40 million people--give or take, we want them health and paying taxes.
Healthy.
just the viewpoint of rich politicians and donors and stuff
however lazy sob's do spread disease
I cannot imagine a system where citizens are left to die or go bankrupt because they are poor. We all chip in and everyone is covered.
yeah, it sucks
I'm up set that our medical care seems to be moving away from preventative medicine -- well health checkups (annual physical) are now a thing of the past because of the shortage of doctors.
To get this, a country must get out of the mindset of "Why should I pay for that persons doctor visit with MY taxes?"
We live in a underserviced county here. At its worst a MRI may take a month to get, or two weeks for a dr. Appt. Hip and shoulder replacements can take eight months.
I would like to see some of our tax money dedicated to helping qualified students train to be doctors. It is long expensive proposition so I'm thinking that some of our bright so inclined minds are choosing to train for something else.
If you have cancer things get done pretty fast in my experience.
Yes crossy but if it is something serious all those services are immediate.
We have a lady here; her and her husband were very well off, and when he passed she donated enough money to her local medical school that every student currently enrolled had all their education expenses paid for. :)
Yes my granddaughter had 2 MRI's and surgery wtihin in 5 days of the initial diagnosis. 3 weeks later she is enrolled in a clinical trial as well as getting chemo and radiation.
And the Munk Family continues to fund several hospitals in the area. :)
That is good, Nan. How is she now?
phantom: grief
Give her my best from someone who has been in remission for fifteen years now. I hope she gets to ring the bell very soon
Still tired but her morale is good. She is one of 58 in a trial involved with taking niacin in conjuction with the chemo that in the first trial looked promising. Her oncologist is part of the team conductiong the trials.
will do
I wish her the best. They are doing amazing things now. When I was undergoing chemo, my doctor told me that if I had gotten my cancer in 1970 it would have killed me.
They have already told her that considering her youth if it grows back they will operate again.
