Haven't had time to look into it, Atalante... too bad it is so hard to get the right dictionary.

2:52 am

yeah, its a real shame. apparently its because the dictionary babble uses is 2 years old, so the current enable files don't match

6:09 am

6:09 am

I RECKON SOMEONE IS PLAYING MIND GAMES...BT xxx

Not hard to play mindgames with me right now tho

6:13 am

because it's spelt arctic

6:14 am

the t8/50 uses the U. only one I've found so far

6:17 am

WIth the u words, I looked for endings - the ending "ous" can be used with a few of the words. Also, if you have the T8/50, then you can get a T7 / 36 out of it. I promise it's not mind games! I'll give more clues if people want?

I wont say no to a clue beepbeep

I have used the u, but not as the first letter, tho I believe there are a couple

cant believe the cat sound is in the dictionary

6:31 am

Afternoon all. Elmer, thea - the other J is a je4/11 an is Korean curency

Morning all! I am only gettin' 1 cat sound. Looks like it's going to be a hard day. :)

6:48 am

Anj - THANK YOU! brandyjack - grrr! I am scratching my head over that second T7 / 36! Thanks for the tip though.

6:49 am

Morning from east coast Canada!

6:49 am

well beepbeep, i'd give you a timely tip, but i'm not sure i'll be here when you finally ask for it...... heheh

6:56 am

I think I love you!

6:56 am

Well, it's only been an hour but already I'm touched by the outpouring - nay, avalanche - of words of sympathy and indignation over Babble's denying me the word tanh. (My word count would have catapulted into double figures.)

6:57 am

Am I the only stupid one blind enough to not see the E4 staring me in the face?

6:58 am

Poor Fred! You have my sympathies - it wouldn't accept "moomin" for me.

7:01 am

Don't worry Fred, it did that with demi & hemi yesterday, even tho' it liked semi. Just one of those Enable foibles.

7:03 am

Jen, the e word was in yesterday's puzzle as well

7:15 am

Welcome back space shuttle! (I know you guys will have been playing Babble for the last 24 hours.)

7:21 am

73 words, cant find the cat sound, being thick maybe

7:26 am

what do you mean by E4?

7:26 am

am new here

7:27 am

E 4 letters

7:28 am

E4 means a four letter word beginning with E. E4 / 11 means a four letter word beginning with E that scores you 11 points.

7:29 am

There isn't actually an E4 / 11 in this puzzle - that was just me mixing up the J4 / 11 and the E4 / 7! Gah, my brain aches!

7:31 am

thanks Anj I finally got it!!

9:19 am

carolecs -- your clue was good enough that i could find it using the a2z! thanks!

9:20 am

pabloid -- the list on your right is all the words you have come up with. you just count how many words start with each letter.

9:20 am

i could still use come help with the T8/65 and the i7/32 if anyone has them...

9:20 am

For what purpose Pabloid?

9:21 am

are you allowed to say what your score is?

9:22 am

Evandine, T/8 65 - If a government was oppressive it would be classed as this

9:22 am

Still working on the I myself

9:23 am

i want to know what your scores are

9:26 am

evanadine hi pardon my ignorance what does t8/65 mean and all the other posts like i7/32 t7/36

9:27 am

evandine, i/7 32, your insides.

9:27 am

mine is 645

9:28 am

Pabloid, I only have 990 points, but the purpose of this game is not to compete against others, but challenge yourself.

9:28 am

roncook: for example, T8/65 means a word that starts with "T" that is 8 letters long and worth 65 points

9:28 am

mine is 1096

9:28 am

106/1746 pabloid if that helps you!!

9:31 am

i agree with Jen Pabloid. if i tried to compete with the likes of sprite, une, baggo, etc. , i'd always feel like crap! lol :)

9:32 am

I'm really stuck now and that tome and jerry clue has me totally lost. my score is 1387 with 100 words. Much tougher than yesterdays puzzle

9:33 am

thank you! tom and jerry lost me too! :)

9:34 am

Dtill can't see the T7 / 36, but have sussed what it begins with !!! help ....

9:35 am

for the tom + jerry clue...forget about cats + mice. think "punctual"

9:36 am

Sorry I am always being cryptic. The Tom and Jerry clue needs to be pronounced to understand it, it isn't spelt that way eg Bind, small furry creature. Spell different. x

9:37 am

heh, i like those kinda of clues carolecs -- i feel like im still working it out and its not being handed to me. :)

9:38 am

Or you could try hour or minute of the day + get rid of minus last letter.

the main words are...do da de da de de doe doe de da de de doe....and just keeps going....

10:29 am

i admit nothing! i challenge thee to a duel! (wait, now ive lost it!)

10:33 am

No No NO!! the hampster and the frog are totally unconnected. The frog sings to axel F and says Ding Ding and Bam Bam in appropriate places...trust me its catchy

baggo, it started out life as a joke website that has now evolved into http://www.hampsterdance2.com; it's a regular stop on thenet for my three year old. And the site's designer would get mad about leaving out there extra "p" in "hampster"....

The frog is much better as a song than as the ring tone.

10:37 am

thanks zeu...one would think i could spell after this site, but alas my brains are fried...lol

10:38 am

5:27 pm

i only have ha5/20x1 but i do have a ha/18

5:28 pm

I haven't got ha5/16 either. Did you mean ha5/18, Denny?

5:31 pm

babbler - My h5's are 16, 18 and 20 and I have all 9 h's is there another h5 not in the stats?

5:35 pm

9:58 pm

fit1, there are 4 str6

10:01 pm

you're missing an ra4

10:06 pm

Thanks so much, Uneaixoise! I am appalled at how often I miss either plurals or third person present forms of three-letter words! Just add an 's', dummy! But it somehow fails to register if the root is less than 4 letters.

10:08 pm

Im' missing an no 5 and an na4. I need 2 more and I'm outa here. the na 4's I have are na 4/7 x2 na 4/4 na4/5 PLEASE RELEASE ME!!!

10:08 pm

no problem!

10:11 pm

i'm missing the no5 too--completely stumped

10:13 pm

I swear I have typed some of these wrong words 10x each

10:15 pm

Hey Un - trade me the last na for the no5, I just got it on chance. It is like what you tell a little kid when you don't want them to do something, but change the 2nd consonant and make it plural

10:17 pm

wow just got the na too. blind luck. well I'm outta here. good luck all

10:18 pm

The no5 refers to ancient Greek law and Greek prefectures (I have a more explicit clue if desired)

10:19 pm

thanks Jax!

10:19 pm

no5 - administrative division of greece - onomy

10:25 pm

A mess o' m's!! I've got: ma4x6 ma5 ma6x2 me4 me5 mi4x2 mi5x2 mi6 mo4x9 mo5x4 What else? Thanks.

10:38 pm

Thanks, everyone! Now counting 33 m's. Now only 4 t's and 3 s's to go!

10:52 pm

you're missing an so4

10:55 pm

10:56 pm

you're down at least a ti7 and two ta4s, but I haven't finished the ts myself - I need the th5 and th6.

10:57 pm

Thanks again, Une! As I said before those ultimate s's are my nemesis!

10:58 pm

there are 8 words with the U in them. m4/6,m5/14x2,m6/24,r6/24, t7/36x2 & t8/50.

10:59 pm

ti7 - ti4/6 with three-letter ending

11:00 pm

syncopate thanks! working on those.... the th5 sounds like it might be an elision of a definite article and a human appendage, but it really refers to the belly. th6 is its plural.

11:04 pm

many thanks, sfneil

11:09 pm

I am curious how people know how many letters are in their missing words. I can tell from the posted stats how many words beginning with each letter I lack, but how do people ask specifically for word lengths, sometimes with two inital letters? I am guessing it's from reading the chat carefully (which I confess I don't do until I'm down to the wire), but is there another way that I'm being dumb about?

11:15 pm

I read the chat.

11:22 pm

Thanks, sync. That's what I thought, but sometimes just glancing over people's questions it can appear as if they somehow magically know how many words of each length lie within each letter! Anyway, I'm very frustrated to be down to two t's and two s's and a very scrunched brain. I'll probably stick it out to the end, but I am out of ideas at this point. Sigh.

11:27 pm

do you have all the ta4s? sailors, hats, Chinese religions, Irish epic, pastry - that's all I've got

11:27 pm

11:30 pm

yeah, thanks, syncopate... I've got all those. brandyjack, that rocks! wish I wasn't legally braindead...

11:33 pm

One's a plural of the haitian good stuff. other one is a lot like cash.

11:35 pm

mo5 - what austin powers had a lot of mo5 - a very rare surname (could be an incorrect spelling for currency; a Billly Idol song?) -sorry

11:41 pm

I really appreciate the help.

this is boring

11:50 pm
