Hey deb. How are you?
c6/30
Not so bad thanks... Daughter went back to school yesterday.... Haven't seen you for a while
Mine are back to school too. I've been trying to be a good girl and get enough sleep (just because my hubby hasn't been here to get them to school for me). Hubby comes home tomorrow. It can go one of two ways- he indulges my obsession and isn't a bear if I stay up late (and even gladly gets the kids ready) or I have to go to bed early to appease him.
I got rid of mine..... Husband I mean not kids....lol
t6/30
Tempting sometimes -for both:)
lol...
Sorry, cbr... I was concentrating on puzzle... yeah, he has to catch the train at 7, so... ;>
I told him.. either give me a divorce or buy me a black dress!
While you've been having fun - I have 166 words to go
Better than me... 178 to go & my eyelids are drooping!
i8/55 e8/55
I've only got 74...
Hah! I'm slow... Just got the need for a black dress. One of these days I'll be nice and alert when I'm on here, and look out. I've still got 153 left to find. Sheesh.
I still need 194 still moving along
I dont mean 74 to go.. I mean I only have 74!....lol

I'm going to have to bail at 101 - it's 2 am here!
s8/55
did anyone get the e7/36 from the c5?
Yes - I did
134 left and I must call it a night. I guess I'm older then I thought. See you tomorrow, debs? Bye! :)
no, but i got an e7/44 from a c5/18
See you later, cbr!
but did you go on from there to get the e8/55?
'night!
Nite to all who are off and G'day to all coming on
doh! BrandyJack, thx
Yes Brandyjack and I got your other e's too
how about the i8/55
Not yet - I have an i7 though!
yep.
but it's so close.........
Got it now
And now I'm really going to bed!
how about the t6/30 that uses up the remaining q?
Dr_God, when you hide or show icons it reverts to show only last 50 messages. Not that I mind, but you might.
I've got that one -
nothing like a little measured pressure eh?
I wish I could call it a night, but my 4 year old is a nite owl... he's coloring beside me (& counting in Spanish, LOL)
LOL
Gotta love that Dora the Explorer... that's his passion these days.
84/1299 nite all, morning will be here all too soon.........
Mine are too old - but I know it well from days of yore!
Nite, brandyjack!
Me too - 110/290
I'm at 84, gonna try to make 100 before I knock off
Well, I'm just sorry, word-length-wise... my longest is 6 letters & it's a plural!
Ever get fixated on word you can almost get like prequel?
Jera, try some in or en prefixes
I just want to change the P to an R for donair and a few almost other words... Yet I can not see the ones I am looking for like the 8 letter I etc.....
p7/40
Why the heck isn't pyro a word??
is there a clue for that p 7/44
sorry, disregard my p7 Blaze got it already. I searched the comments for p7 instead of p 7.
p 4/9 same word different ending pryro
I get fixated a lot here, BrotherCaine! Not a very good game for OCD... or maybe it is, depending on how you look at it!
I love fire, so I got that one!
Oooh finally found some good ones with the in & en tips... thanks, BrotherCaine!
sorry I am very new to this game - why isnt spain a valid word please ?
Like scrabble country names are not used nor peoples name etc..... see babble rules upper right hand corner of web page.... good luck it is a great game and good chat
A lot of place names, proper nouns are not allowed (but some are!). Never hurts to try!
and then there are some words that you only find in the dictionary.... and they can have some bizzare spellings.
morning all i8, e8, p8 - anyone know what the other 8 is?
I keep forgetting to try British words.
s8 according to BrandyJack
Brother Caine don't forget the scot. welsh and india words tooooo
ooo missed that posting, thanks
I do searches for '8/' and '7/' to mine the comments.
Well, I've found 100, no more jumping out at me, so I'm gonna hit the sack... gotta get up in 4 hours to get my daughter off to school... nite all!
same for me at 107..nite nite...
91 :( G'night
That's it, I'm done... penpal isn't a word... good nite & I really mean it this time!
I am off for now.....be back after a few hours of sleep.
it's all gone very quiet - can someone help with the 2nd letter for the s8?
Fmitch - if I had the s8 I would be happy to help you but alas :(
Hi Dianne, was beginning to think I was the only one around lol
It's 4 in the afternoon my time so I'm here.
Just after 9 here and I must get on with work -106 for 1475 will have to do for now, till next time :)
If names are not allowed how come yesterday henry was
and ralph
exactly
henry : The unit of inductance in which an induced electromotive force of one volt is produced when the current is varied at the rate of one ampere per second.
A henry is a unit of measurement and ralph also means to vomit.
Hello .We`ve had rivers too.tyne etc
macadam how are you doing today ??
Tyne also means point in zoology. All the medical/science terms make it much tougher.
The thing that kills me is all the undefined acronyms -- where do they come from? There are so many words you can only get via monkeytyping.
I usually peruse (?) the dictionary....and still can not believe some of the words....that is maybe a great part of babble....learning
Me too, Blaze -- I'm constantly clicking words for definitions (and to see if there are plurals I've missed).
It is the plurals, etc.... that add the points....
I`m fine thanks.I still hate needles though.
Like you I enjoy finding the meaning of words and am constantly surprised that some are words at all.
I like the challenge and I have sometimes used a word or two that I have learned....
Morning everyone. 238 words today.:-( I'm going to get a few typed in before I have to go out but don't reckon I'll finish today as I'm out tonight, too. (Going to see Pam Ayres' 30th Anniversary show.)
Hi Jacula.Lucky girl Pam Ayres always makes me laugh.Enjoy.
Just been reading the log back - all this talk of rivers. Was looking for 'limpopo'. LOL. Found the north eastern one though.
Hi macadam. I saw her live years ago and also once sat next to her and her 2 boys at a Postman Pat show. (Her hubby was the producer. Of the show that is, as well as the 2 boys. LOL.)
She`s probably wrtten a poem about postman pat. With a twist no doubt.
Why can`y you have yipee? It`s better than y4/9.
More than likely, Macadam. The title of the show is 'They Should Have Asked My Husband'. I've read the poem and it's funny.
I wondered that too, macadam!
I won't bother typing 'yipee' in then. I'd got it written down. I think it's 'yiPpee' though.
I`m glad I`m not alone melissamay.
What`s a p between friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Speaking of pees and poets, I take it you've both got o4/5? LOL.
this puzzle is like a bingo game tonite.....I seem to be missing one letter to make great words....yet I can not seem to get the right words sourced out...
so far 4 o4`s and 1 o5.Just trying to find the other 2 before having a coffee.
Got it, Jac :)
I`m seeing indolant and wishing I wasn`t
morning everyone (or evening!) is this puzzle as bad as it's looking right now?
It's worse, Ginger!
yep!
it got me jeremaid already
Morning Ginger.
Hi Ginger.
Spellit - Apparently 'yep's' not a word, not even in plural. ;-)
Can't have oreo biscuits either.:-(
no "nand"? you can't fly into space without nands!
and just why not the oreo's
Thats it Jacula ,now you`ve mentioned biscuits I`m away for a coffee.TTFN
I see what you mean about missing one letter in lots of great words... very frustrating!
What the heck are 'nands'??
Bye Macadam. I'm off for some breakfast in a min., too.
some times that is used as slang for gonads
Oh, lol. Thanks for that Blaze. I've heard 'em called 'nads' for short but not 'nands'.
it's probably the same or not.....
How can there be 25 A words - UGH. I've struggles and struggled and have only come up with 13. This is terrible.
I am amazed at 13 I only have
Dianne - I've only got 5 so far. I go through all the obvious words first and then start concentrating on it letter by letter. I suppose we all have different methods of approaching the grid?
four a words OOppss did not mean to post last before finished sentence....like the current words
nand - short for not and, a logic gate that outputs true or 1 if either of two inputs are false or 0
they why does it not accept it as a word ??
I keep wanting to type 'loon' but it won't fit.
I am off again until later..... Good Luck
Me, too. Got 101 words down. Only 137 to go.:-( TTFN. Good luck everyone.
Anyone have a little hint on the i8/55?
just like the e8/55 but with an i
what if you don't have the e8 either??? do you have 2nd letters please?
look for a c5 and work from there
You know I shouldn't play this game - I had the e8 and just didn't do it with the i - pretty dumb of me. Thanks for the nudge.
Any hints for the s8? Or the p8, for that matter. Yeesh.
p8 from p7 To hold out; to stretch forth
thanks Brother Caine, got several words out of that!!!
GingerUK, four or six words? there are two applicable c5s
Ginger - when you pay a bill they always tell you to do something with the slip and your payment.
Thanks, BrotherCaine. Not one of the p7s I have, but I'll keep looking.
Got it BC -- thanks again!
s8 is a combo of two s4s. kind of like dirtbath.
BrotherCaine.... I got 6 words :)
AH! Thank you so much, HighEnergy!
thanks HE, and here I thought it was an s7 with a d on the end.
So there is an e8, i8 and s8. Anyone know what the last ones is (sorry I was busy trying to work and didn't get to read all the posts).
p8 clue at 4:34 am. Use browser find to search for '8/' or '7/' if you don't want to read through the comments.
oops 4:54 am
Thank you - saw it now.
Please can I have the 2nd letter for s8 as I have to stop soon and it is really bugging me!!
Morning Fmitch :) It's sa8
i'm with you fmitch, only got a few minutes left & would love to get the s8, if anyone's feeling kind.

I've got 24 p's and have hardly made a dent!

Lo, the ubiquitous an4/4 :) There sure are some doozies in here today...
beagle lab mix, just the most adorable friend. I know its silly, but seeing the New Orleans / Oprah special where they showed that people were forced to leave their pets behind by the Govt. during the evac was hard to watch
mtn- know what you mean, it's always the kids and animals that get me.
Oh yes, Anj! Was thinking of the C word from yesterday :)
lola if you are still there... eo6/18
Thanks jen :)
Wierd. Thought I'd lost my word list as it disappeared but I've just found it right at the bottom below the message box. Dr God, how do I get in back to the top, please? I've refreshed, logged out and in.
I've got all the e's but the one on the second row. Lola, there is only the one en4/4. Any clues as to which one I'm missing? I've got Lola's list plus the eo6. Thanks:)
Thanks smithchick, thought so! I am still missing the same one you are :(

Hi Swimmy
Missing 4 P's :( I have pa x 8, pe x 11, pi x 13, po x 2, pr x 10, py x 2, can anyone help?
Finally over 100 words (sigh, way too many left), so I am out to hit the gym and yell at my apartment complex. Have fun everyone and I'll see you later! :)
Wish I could - I'm missing 24 of them myself!
Probably just a temporary glitch lol - I will go up & down like frisky kangaroos, you wait and see :)

lola - yes, that p6 is related to the RC church... For lack of a better clue, the word also sounds like dried crumbly flowers that smell good.
That ws a great clue Bugzy! THanks
larlielou same base word as your en7/36
Bugzy- thank you! Tried every other combo, the "twisty" ones always fool me :(
Moozey, think about tinkling those ivories to get the ep7 (same letters, slightly misspely) ;) Mtnjock - think of a y5 for 'really want or pine for something' and drop the R

It is now an hour later than I told myself I would play for so I must go, but I will be back :)
Anyone else finding that today we get to use all those weird words from AtoZ that we normally just think 'damn! nearly...' I'm greeting them like long, lost friends lol :D
I know what you mean Anj.... I swear this grid came out of a can of alphabet soup!
Great grid!
Evening, Sprite!
Hey Krys10, nice to play with you again! Like your buddy icon, lol, Krys8.
Hi Sprite :) Damn, Krys, that icon is an optical illusion...looks like it leans to the right lol
Lola that's the word - think of Ian Paisley!

Sorry Anj, had to do it because the tile is not square...
Hi all, nice crew again here! Just started, so I have some catching up to do... Too bad when work gets in the way of babbling.
Most English words with Q in them are followed by a U. The Qu tile just means that you don't have to look for a U tile to follow the Q.
i'm thinking that i must find a neater icon. mine looks too cutesy...
Nothing wrong with cute, Baggo. It takes guts to be cute these days ;)
sprite, i tought it was a bit late to be seeing you...it's a great grid
Missing an n...Here's what I've got: na4/4 na4/4 na4/4 na4/6 na4/6 ne4/6 ne5/14 ne5/14 ni4/6 no4/5 no5/12 no4/5 no4/4 no4/4 no5/12 Any help would be much appreciated.:)

ant = ent? I got lost somewhere along the way, I think! LOL. I need 11 more words, so I might be able to help you out, but I am not sure what you are looking for.
here are the 3 an's a5/10 low tide an5/10 turkish tyre company or hispanic communications firm in new york an5 with an 6 positive charged electron
hi sprite... do you have the other an5/10?
Lotti, he sure does. Give him a guitar and let it rip :)
I do, but I found it by making a T4/7. Can't find a def. Anagram of what would be the plural of the bottom A4/4.
He makes enough noise without a guitar, it`s his head i`ll rip off in a mo if he doesn`t stop shouting!!!!!
Does anyone have an i7/44 - and can they give me a clue?!!
Yes i7/44 - has to do with how you keep a bracelet on your arm - it is one of your other c5s
If you have the E7/44, you have the i7/44 as well.
Chris, in plus buckle on a bracelet :)
Ginger I got it - thanks and sorry again macadam, I got confused as to who had written which clue!
Anj - I could have sworn I'd tried that one! Ta ever so.

I have an so5.10 you don't seem to have... is that a typo?

Hi all, just got home from work. Before I even look at this puzzle, can someone tell whether it's gonna drive me mad and keep me up all night??

Good morning, all...oops, afternoon here!
allnight boysaway
Hi Boysaway, Jera :) This one is a doozie...it's not giving them up easily although there are some juicy words in there
Greetings all. Uhg. 200 words today. And a Qu. Anything over 200 words is too long in my book. Nevertheless, I commence to Babble...
Thanks Karenth and Anj. Can I resist???
I don't think I'm gonna finish this one... I have a Girl Scout meeting tonight!
Judi, that will probably chnage to Dribble if my experience is anything to go by lol :)
tell me about it judi, but hey, 200 words, there are bound to fun words
Okay, finished the 'q's immediately! (Lulled into a false sense of security)..

The A hints were posted at 7:04 am
E-gurl al4/4 - goes with vera ac4/6 - spots/zits etc as5/14 - tree, ski resort (in Colorado?)
My apologies, So did I, but I had to be in 5:30am this morning and just got told I would be here a well into the afternoon.
Anj got all the clues thank you so much
your clues are the first i understood
no biggie; i was gonna sneak a noon beer if we went. next time.
Ginger, just monkeyed the pe6/30 and pe7/44 with the aid of a bit of maths :) Think 'abduct' and apply it to your cat, dog, gerbil, wombat etc
e_gurl, one a = by ones self, an an 5/12 works well with transisters, and the ac 7/40 is a variation of that word,
Pe6 and 7: what you would call a bit of sleep from your dog or cat (and the plural)
brill anj maybe sleepy 4 legged friends
y/w e_gurl - just keep your eyes peeled for clues. If it's a bit quiet it's only because folk are concentrating on finding the words themselves :) al5/10 - solitary ae4/4 - 'plane ae4/4 - looooong time an5/12 - positively charged electrode an6/21 - plural of the an5/12
thank you very much appreciate the help felt stuck for a while
It's 238 words / 4.84 / 3307 points today, in case one wondered :)
Cheers Sprite - just a p6/24 to go :)
Good Morning to you Prissy

En8= when something is put in an envelope it is en******/ the in8 is the same except 4 the first letter...
Thanks all, got everything but the pr8. Thought it was associated with a qu word, but couldn't get anything to work.
thank you people i finally got it thank you thank you
en8 - completely surrounded in8 - same as en8 with different start letter pr8 - sounds like 'not real' plural of the pr7 (which is main character from K-Pax, plus 'finish') sa8 - two s4s - what you find at the beach plus what you use in the bath* * not a rubber duck lol
Yay, I'm halfway done!!
pr8/55, 2 part clue, what t5/12 means to take care of something. and what you might call them if they did it professionally.
Still not getting that pr8... gonna go look up KPax... never saw that one...
Many thanx for the 8 letter words...damn these obscure ones...
Yay, got it... ty mtnjock!
Thanks from me too - got all the 8's and a 7 to boot!
Sorry but what is KPax anyway that might help me to understand your clue
KPax is a movie - go to netflix for the name
E_gurl, K-Pax is a sci-if book which was made into a film. Kevin Spacey plays the character to which the clue refers :)
I know there are 3 qu's and at least 1 oter word using the qu... does anyone know if there are any more uses of the qu?
Ginger, there are only three words that start with Qu.
and apparently only 4 q used over all
thanks live_n
3x Qword and 1x -q- used in a Tword.

Cheers Punster - I 'm on the case :)
anj pa6/24 it seems misspelt
the complete p list was posted at 11:13 a.m.

eo6- lasting for an indefinite period of time.
Punster, there are two od4/5s - poems and one that sounds like a brainwave lol Movieman - eo6 is two 3 letter words e... meaning looooong time, and a boys name (as in Astbury of The Cult)
Anj, I tell you this - I don't think I will be getting the rest of the p's, and if I try I WILL go insane :>
good to see you smithchick
Hey elmer, don't you have lives to save? Or is this an imposter?

Very cryptic, elmer. But hey, I get your meaning.

Is there a list of e's? I'm missing two and can't find them!
live_n, you need an op5/14, or5/14 and an or6/2 the op5, is O plus a cone tree. the or5 drops the e, and adds an r the or6 adds the e again Hope that makes sense!
Harrumph. Won't take "inland".

in 7/44 is a c5/18 with an "in" prefix
in 5/15: A white, crystalline substance, C8H7N,
Oh sorry, that's] in 5/12 NOT in 5/15 - there isn't an in 5/15

saladspork the first 3 letters are a word for a large passage of time/epoch/era, the last three is a man's name
Help - help. Can anyone decipher which R I'm missing?? Thanks.... re 4 6 re 4 4 re 6 27 re 6 24 re 6 24 re 5 14 re 6 24 re 4 6 re 5 14 ro 4 6 ro 5 20 ro 4 9 ro 4 4 =8-)
doh! i swear i tried every combo but that one. Thanks!!!
saladspork, the eo6 is same as the ae7 minus that beginning a
cat2 - that woulda helped if i'd had that ae first ;) i got them both though :D
saladspork, it's the sort of long time in geological terms that would make tectonic shift look like rush hour on Broadway. Two 3 letter words e... (loooooong tme) and i.... (blokes name)
saladspork ...lol i know what u mean... i ididn't get it first either
Need cluez for the last e... I have ee4/7, en7/44, en7/36, en8/55, en4/4, eo6/18, ep4/6, ep7/36, et4/4, et5/10 & ey4/7...
movieman, en4/4 - solitary, backwards....
I think you're also missing an En4/5 - at last, the fairy story ****.
Can someone give a clue for the 6/27?
Based on my last effort I think I'm going to be a hinderance rather than any help :( I'm going blind...
sorry punster didn't catch which one?
I'm sorry!!! I meant the re6/27
Sorry can't help you not made it to the r's yet!
Re6/27 - "Having a somewhat wavy margin."
Anj- missing the same R as CSA. Please check out the 4:13 post and help us out :)
Punster- re plus Andy P***y :)
I have to skidaddle now, night everyone - Lola I owe you chocs and I won't forget ;>
Cheers Punster :)
Lo, CSA, it's an ry4/7 - sounds like the Kaiser Chief's song 'I Predict a R...' :)
Thanks Anj! Did you know that there is a soccer team in SA called Kaiser Chiefs? They often predict one of those R's at their matches :)
Really? Competition is healthy by the sounds of it lol
Anj!! Consider yourself kissed - that's me done for the day. Now I'm off to supervise the Monster Baby's dinner and potty time. sigh....
Yeah, soccer is huge out there but the matches can get a bit scary if the wrong team scores etc !
well, i'm running out of time and still have all these great helps and hints to find missing words :( Guess i'll have to settle for 109/1366 today. LOL
Ah, fans take defeat seriously I see lol Thanx CSA - have fun with the monster :)
Time 4 little ole me to say bye bye now...am leaving today's game with a grand total of 161/ 2311...hope tomorrow's puzzle has slightly (!) less words...
Hi -- just one p left, the pa5/14 that's not short for miming. Any hints? Thanks!
can someone help me with the 3rd re6/24? i have the wood one and the sin one
it's the same as the sin one for the first 4 letters, and it has to do with undoing a law or regulation.
what's teh wood one? :)
melissamay, dic.com say: 'In quantitative verse, a foot of one long syllable and three short syllables occurring in any order' I say, put a P in front of your first ae4/4 :)
Saladspork, it sounds like it means to redo something with a common light wood
finally home from work!
Got it thanks Saladpork
...you're late!
Yeah Cathy, you're dinner's in the dog and the fish need feeding!
Could be worse, you're dinner could still be in the freezer, and the fish could be in the dog ;)
Melissamay says: time to mail back that lit degree in shame, and that Anj is my Tower of Babble.
Gonna call it a night on 140 words 2020. Thanks everyone for the clues. Good luck nighty night :-O
Goodnight Denny, sleep tight :)
I have a word that listed but doesn't give points for it. Does that happen?
stillcrazy- try refreshing :)
y/w melissamay :) 'nite Denny Stillcrazy, press f5 and refresh your browser...
wow tyvm
any hints on the re6/27? it's my last r
Alright, I'm down to the last dang p4. It's the first p on the bottom row. Help!!!
Are there seriously 3 po's?!?! I can only come up with one! (the one on your face)
jen - one wears a funny hat. don't have the 3rd.
facial wash clears your po/4 s
Yeah!!! I'm done! Now I can get back to real life. Any questions before I leave?
smithchick - how about the pe6/30 and pe7/44?? :)
Yes smithchick - what's the best way to cook pork chops? ;)
Any clues for the py6/39?

jen - nope, it's a 4-letter one. think old dude, in italy...
238 words hunted down and captured :) Thanks for all the help Anj. Have to get some shut eye now so see you all tomorrow :)
Chris, it's a deep red garnet used as a gemstone according to the dictionary. Just add your ro4/6 :)
kept wanting to use the P near the Q, not the one in the corner!
'nite Lola :) take care.
I personally prefer Shake 'N Bake. py6-throw an r4/6 on the end. pe6 & pe7-What your parakeet does when it's sleepy. (or your hamster, or your cat, etc.) Bye, lola.
Jen, be sure to mind your p's and q's.:) Sorry, couldn't resist. That's my incredibly corny father's sense of humor coming out in me.
Ah, the tried'n'tested Coat & Cook Cheers smithchick Will have to give that a shot :)
Thanks smithchick!
You're welcome. I guess I'll go try to figure out how to do one of those nifty icons.

have 3 ca4/6 and 2ca4/8
there's 4 ca4/6
ca4/6 an acronym finder what sort of word is that. I only realised tonight that if you click on the question mark you get a definition. just the lo5 to go think I'm just being thick.only 6 hours before we start all over again
6 hours? sheesh... 123 words to go.........!

cor all that p... up energy . how I'm doing?
i've got 3 pr7/36 but my list seems to suggest there is another one. i've got a bunch of ones having to do with the nutrition you get from eating meat...
blaze your ae7 is same as your e6
UGH! I've tried every combination I can think, help please. I've got the so4/6, so6/24 and so5/20, but can't the one in the middle - so7/36!
ferrai I have the ae nailed to the puzzle tree no on to as words
think a superlative eastenders ,perhaps not how miserable can you get!
aah... eastenders... and corrie... wish they were on bbc - then i would get them here!
that is a great clue but my British wit is only supplied by show like HeartBeat, the Royal and Rosemary and Thyme....along with Coronation Street occaisonally
Can you get CBC in Penn, Cathy? Coronation Street is on CBC
over lathering in the bath
ferrai I am just LOL over here.....over lathering in the bath ?? is this the as word list we are talking about.... with eastenders ??? Confused in Canada
saladspork think professional tending
swmbo - no... we don't get cbc... that would be great! i have seen cbc on a visit to sarnia, in ontario... my friend there watches corrie!
blaze have you got the so55?
no to the so 55
i get CBC here in seattle, though i've never watched eastenders... i like it for curling tho!!
sorry as... colorado I think. skiing
Eastenders and Corrie are S*** Operas
CBC doesn't run EastEnders, but we can get it on BBC Canada. I only watch Coronation St though
any hints for the ty6/33?
so55 think desert eastenders can be miserable in the s..d
Is this eastenders my clue for so7/36? If so I live in the US, so it doesn't help.
what a good typist could be
um. isn't it actually an sa55? desert dirt cleanser
kristin - think of the daytime shows... passions, port charles, days of our lives.... they're s... operas
s..p opera
oops yes its late here sorry
I got that word, the verb and the adjective.
now tack the stuff that's all over the beach onto the front of that opera
what a great clue I'm blonde what do you expect except I have finished
I got the sa8/55, but isn't there a so7/36 or is my list wrong? If so, I assume there are 4 words that start with so4/6.
What a good typist could be?
with help admittedly for the last few
swmbo change the last 2 letters
sorry if I caused problems it's an sa/55
LOL well, it isn't typiac, which would be a manic typist if it were a word...
LOL i'm a typiac!
a superlative
Evening all (or whatever the appropriate greeting is where you are in the world).
LOL got it i must be very tired, because I am finding my 'blindness' to obvious words funny...
hi jacula I'm going to bed,its early I know 12.50 pm lol
so6/21??? arrgh.
I need the third 'q', not the word for odd, or the question one...
evening jacula!
take your 'regina' qu and change the second vowel
Night Ferrari. Sleep well.
it's a word for "disreputable young woman" - sounds kind of like elizabeth ii
just spell Elizabeth ER differently
Right on!! Thanx!
night ferrari - thanks for all the help!!
Evening Cathy. I need a p! (A P6/39, I think.)
I'm still here
lol jacula.. thought you needed the loo for a minute
i need a po6/39 - probably the same word jacula :)
there isn't a pa39 but there is a py39
Sorry Cathy - couldn't resist the joke. We British and our toilet humour. LOL.
sorry should have put po
Oh no! Not another 'py'.:-(
'po'? As in 'guzunder'? LOL. Sorry, toilet humour again. po6/39?
there are 2 39's a po and a py
got a clue for the po6/39? :D
lol
Got the red garnet. It's the 'po' I need.
Hi all - re po6/39 & py6/39 po6 clue is an offensive term for the practices and rites of the Catholic Church. the py6 is an anogram of the po6
po6 is what protestants accuse catholics of
po/39 = po4/8 there have been a few words with this ending
Dr God, Why aren't we able to see the first letter on our words? Also, is there a way to see ur words next to the puzzle rather than the bottom?
sorry should have put po4/8 2
i can see the first letter, kim
I know the first 3 letter now. It helps... sort of.
my words are next to the puzzle
The words are next to the puzzle, Kim.
jacula - kind of sounds like potpourri lol
Still have 122 words to find - no chance. I give in @ 116/1442. Goodnight and the best of luck to you all
really am going now lol
goodnight, ex-wren...
Thanks Ferrari. I'll get there in the end. Night, night. Goodnight exWREN.
ok..going to change computers and watch tv whilst looking at this!
still missing 19, but i'm goign to miss my bus if i keep trying. night all!!
Got all the 'p's' now. Night saladspork.
Good night saladspork- safe journey.
stuck stuck stuck maybe I should call it a night
What are you stuck on swmbo?
lol 89 words, a little of this, a little of that
the 'n' that arises from the bottom line is driving me bonkers. i have monkey typed everything excpet the right one arghhhhh
Is that an n5/14?
i dunno. i never can figure out how people know the word scores...
swmbo take bottom n and work around the bottom two rows on the left
ne5/14. If it's that it doesn't have a definition. All I can say by way of a clue is that if you were fishing and got a hole in the keepne* you'd have to sew it up and so might perform a ne****. (In short.)
omg, i have 116 words. The rest I must have NEVER heard of..or they escape me with the twisty turns...who would have thought there could be so many fargin N's.! (sorry about that..i swore.ack)
It is not the one to do with the tides, I have that one
Hiya Lianakate. Are those boys behaving themselves? LOL.
Swmbo - the clue I gave you isn't for the one to do with the tides.
BRILLIANT clue, but I have that one too :(
lianakate, its OK, it was only a teeny swear
Jac...the boys are on temporary suspension..Hijinks in the shower room!! I am not saying what..but the boogers all had a smile on their faces!
Lianakate. Are you now singing that old song, 'Don't, don't, DON'T eat the daisies'??
I dont know how I can be missing 4 s's on the upper left...there are no words..oh waaaaaaaaaaaaaah...i hate the world!
Swmbo - I presume you have the little sleeps and the back of the neck ones?
Well, I am missing 6 esses LOL
Oh, and granny?
Jac. LOL..you and i have a similar sense of humour..SICK..and ridiculous ..hahahaha
GRANNY!!! That was IT THANX!!!
LOL, Swmbo. Knew I'd get you there in the end.:-)
You are a doll!
Working my way through some 'c's' now - got 4 to go. (Which will leave me 31 words left to find.)
whats all this about the tides?..i am so lost..I hate being all alone for months on end..I am retired ..and in a new state..so I dont see ANYONE...*the man will be gone for my birthday, thanksgiving, and christmas* I HATE THE WORLD..lol, bunches
I have 22 of 23 c's so fire away!
Jac...I may have to smack you for your prowess in word finding! (thwaap)
The tide ones sound a bit like Scottish potatoes, Lianakate. Oh dear, you sound in need of a laugh. You should have come to Pam Ayres' show with me and my Mum tonight. I laughed till my mascara ran.
there there lianakate, take a deep breath dear
OW! That wasn't very nice Lianakate when I'd just suggested a social evening. Was that a wet rubber daisy you just thwacked me with?
you saw pam ayres? man...i remember her from when i was a kid!!!
liana... is your husband in the military?
tatties?..Only word i know for Scottish taters...and I sure wish I could come with you...your mum is probably MY age :) *although, no one is THAT old*
glass of red wine, anyone? i found a nice bottle of Pinot Noir 2001 in the cupboard!
Actually, Swmbo, she's the 2nd person to say that to me tonight over this puzzle. My other half said it it, too, after I'd done a couple of lucky guesses earlier when HE was looking for 'p4's'. LOL. In fact, he wasn't so polite, he told me to 'bug*** off'!
lucky girl cathy, pour me one too please
My Mum's 71 and I'm 48.
he is my fiance..my boy toy..he is an former force recon Marine..and he is now a catastrophic insurance adjuster...on the storm Katrina..
I'm on the chardonnay thanks. I'll wake the other half up for the red though. He'll have a glass of that to save for Friday night when he can let his hair down. (He's a trucker and so doesn't drink in the week.)
MY mom is nearly 80 and I am 55!
well, MUMS got a few years on me..but I have 8 yrs on the boy toy..am a grandmother 7 times..
*since jacula didn't completely spell bug***, figuring it must be in the puzzle somewhere.....??!*
LOL
gee...a few sips and i'm already stuttering
No, it isn't in the puzzle. I was just being polite and censoring myself. LOL.
My mum, sis and grandmother were all killed in an auto accident when I was 23..and preggers..she borrowed my car, and I had to go identify the bodies..I have never gotten over it.
I'm 11 years' older than my partner. LOL.
Bloody hell Lianakate. That's awful.
gosh liana...how terrible...
SW..i am closer to your age.. ..lol
Oh, Lianakate, so SORRY *hugs*
how could you possibly get over something like that?? wow
Yes, ))))))))))hugs(((((((((( from here, too.
ty, guys..for condolences..I was 9 mos preg..baby born a week later, ..named her for my mom, and sis..Cecelia Jane
Please pass the wine...
yeah... i'll even use the posh wine glasses
Youre all so kind!! Looks like all i am doing is chatting..sorry. I do get lonely with my boy toy gone..and JAC, Good for you , cradle robber..LOL
Yes, pouring another glass myself. It was bad enough losing my Dad in a long and slow fashion to Alzheimer's but Kate's loss was so huge and so sudden.
Nowt wrong with chatting! Though I guess some of it would be better in private on MSN. (Say that from experience and not from any sense of 'it shouldn't be here on a word game'.)
Jac..am so sorry, sweetie..*hug*
we should open a babblers yahoo room or something...somewhere to go and chat when you;re done with the puzzle!
cath..thats a great idea!! I have a friend from australia..i play tanglewords with, and she wants me to come visit her..(thinks i am waaaay bizarre..lol)
liana Just logged on and read the log So Sorry for all you have been thru we may not be there physically but we are with you spiritually. Lost my father last year due to diabetes and heart failure and it was terrible.
liana.. i'd take it as a compliment!
Speed..oh my, bless you and your family..i have diabetes, its such a struggle when you have had for a long, long time..((((((((hug)))))))))))))
cath..i do. She is a lot of fun..I havent been in there lately since i discovered this puzzle..and she is barraging me with Emails..thinking i have died..or even worse..LMAO..
Is Yahoo the thing for chat in USA? Most of us over here seem to use MSN Messenger. (Works fine with hotmail addys, too.)
Wouldn't it be great if we all got together somewhere and Babble spoke everyone would think we were "bizarre" or very happy people!!
liana what a beautiful tribute to your mom and sister and congrats on the boy toy - I'm jealous!
I have a cable modem..that i play games on..IE..but, i belong to AOL..and have for 9 yrs.
lol...what could be WORSE?! lol... i'm thinking an alternative to a babbler's yahoo room is to pester Dr God for another chat room here - like, a members chat room or something?
speedfreak... we have enough strange words to make a whole new language! lol
there are good message baorss to be had at ezboard, as a matter of fact i belong to several there and own one. Free too if you don't want any bells and whistles
Well, I've had a few get togethers with people I've met on forums on the net. Not had a bad experience yet. (YET!) I've seen one or two people on this chat log mention meeting up for a drink and wondered if they'd sit there doing the day's words. LOL.
can anyone help with a te 6
I meant message BOARDS of course. want me to open one?
swmbo...sure! the yahoo chat room offer is open too, if anyone wishes
sorry droman... i am getting too distracted and have not got to the te's yet!
Ole docgod..should have a chat thing..on the bottom of the screen or on the side..lol..I think that is an excellent idea..i should go..am not playing or anything..just thinking..ACK
Sorry droman. Not got that te yet.
i agree, liana
sorry for the disruption, my new friends..I shall leave you to finish the puzzle..and ty, for the chat..I feel MUCH better..xoxoxox
seconded, Kate.
The chat board/room I meant, not you going!
lol jacula,... i felt the same way when i posted!

hello everyone. 238! yeegads! that's not going to happen for me. I'll be doing good to get 100. got 84 so far. Hi Callie hi Swmbo
hey lbdawger
back with pizza. Speed freak, if you registered, you should be able to go to http://p105.ezboard.com/bbabblersanonymous and post. Let me know if you have trouble
swap a sl;ice for a glass of vino!
Hi Callie and Elbee. I have 85 words to go and i doubt I'll get much further, it is 11 PM and I should be thinking of heading for bed soon...
any clues for the 8 words? i have NONE!
two of the 8 words one is the en - to surround on all sides then change the en to in
I have an i8 and an e 8 different only in the first letter and both end with a c6/27
Why is the ne5/14 considered a word ?
You've more stamin than I SWMBO - merely 8pm here and I can barely keep my eyes open.
thaaaaaaaaaanks for the I and E clues!
Anyone have a clue for the te6/21?
calling it quits with 25 left to find letters are all running together and keep typing words I already have. Thx for all conversation Goodnight All
bye speedfreak!
plural of te5/12
Ugh. It's obviously getting late in the game and I am Babble blind. Thanks, Uneaixoise.
and good night from me too...
night swmbo
118...half way, and my eyes are totally gone! lol my last word was rather appropriate...lots of them misspelled words! night all
nighty night
I have tons of words to go but I'm gonna shoot for some big ones before I leave. Any clues for the py 7 and the pe 7. Also it is driving me nuts that I am missing an sp 4, 5 and 6. I don't know if they are a combo but I can't find them for the life of me. Help!
if someone steals your dog or cat, he/she pe----s
Jax the two sps I have are not related - one 4 and one 5 the four means to bridge and the five means used up
Thanks unex - I can't belive I missed that. Cbr - I have those 2 but thanks!
58 words to go... think i'll do it?
how about sp5 - based on pe4/6
Hope so Cathy! good luck
I have that one too. The 2 sp 5's I have are the one to do with $ and the one based on the pe4. I need 1 more and the sp 6. Also hoping for the py 7
there are actually a few based on money - do you have them all?
anyone got clues for the in7's?
sp6/27 is plural of sp5/16
There are 3 sp 5's right? I have the one based on the pe4 and then I have, I went to the store and sp... $50 on shoes. It is the other one I'm missing. And ps, I'm willing to share too if I might have what anyone needs.
in 7s are form of two different cl4s
try the present form of $ for the other one

CBR - can I help?
3rd letter is n let me know if you want more - it is a compound word
Jax - I am missing too much to figure out how to even ask for help yet! I have most of the big ones - it's the four letter ones that are driving me crazy!
CBR- can I bother you for the py 6 and po 6 then, pretty please? I keep saying I'm going to leave. Just one more... just one more... Sigh
thanks cbr... really struggling with it...
GOTTTTTTTTTT IT... thank you
Po6 is based on a church leader - add ry to the end - I don;t have the py either or I would definitely help you!
take py and an r4/6 meaning very thick piece of string....
Bless you Cathy and CBR.. Much appreciated.
py6 = A deep red garnet, Mg3Al2Si3O12, used as a gem. Now, I have 3 only left: la 5/10, la6/18, and an6/21. Anyone who can help, thank you!
la6/18: woolly
melissamay - thanks - I would have never found that!
The an is a plural of you an 5/12. The la 6, is la with a part of your face attached. I don't have the la 5
an6/21 is plural of an5/12
One la5 is an Hawaiian porch
la5/10: A veranda or roofed patio
Ok, my last 2 6's and I'm gonna quit. I need a te 5/6 combo and an sc 6. I have the small amount sc. Dang I need a pa 6. Geesh I feel like such a beggar. But at this hour....
I have sc6s - one where you get burned in the plural and one where you have almost nothing on
Thank you all so much! I had that an6, I must be missing another one -- my last one! I'll keep looking. (Thought I'd tried that Hawaiian porch -- I'm obviously at the end of a long puzzle).
plural of sc5/16
Add ia to the base word of a small two digit number and the plural for the tes

there are actually three of them, Jax
you're welcome!
cbr - 3 6's based on that one 5? Ok I will look
no - there are two 6s based on that five - I misunderstood and thought you only had one of the two
phew - so it is the other te 6 and 5 combo (probably the easy one) that I'm missing
I don't have the other one - ARGH - now I have to search too!
I will keep hunting, whoever gets there first....
do you have the one that ends in oy?
yes
and the one that ends in "ee"?
yup, I'm pretty sure the one I'm missing has to be able to be plural. but then again that doesn't necessarily mean using an s
any hints on the pa 6? Can I help anyone instead of just begging?
pa6 : try french basket
Jax, - pa6 is a french basket also
do you have the three te's based on: A narrow band or ribbon for the hair that was worn in ancient Greece?
Yes I do. The te 5 and 2 te 6's. I am looking for the other te 6 and I think there is a te 5 that goes with it but not sure
