Mornin' Jack! You're really on the ball this morning.
t7/40
good day to you!
SHIT! Missed out on yesterday's grid due to local net crash.
Ow, that is frustrating!
good night, good day, good morning... I'm so confused! :-)
still sobbing after only having 12 words to go on the last one!
Not too bad, I'd say, only 12 more? It was quite a large grid.
yeah, I ran out of time on that one.
sprite... yeah... almost makes it all the worse, since i spent the WHOLE DARN EVENING on it!!!!! lol
c6/24 h6/36
LOL! I'd call that an evening well spent.
A global net crash then, it would seem?
C6/24 x2
h7/48
s7/28
jacula.. it def. slowed down
O6/33
anyway... i like these words better... lol
t 6/27
Still listening to Pam Ayres here in my head phones - The horse's farewell to his cowboy. Didn't deff your site cath. Just got kicked off the net.
c8/65 c9/84
jacula... i would have liked to have seen that! do you like victoria wood?
Yep, Cathy. Vicki Wood is on my wavelength too.
wahey... thanks brandyjack... got the c8/c9
she is a hoot
I wish I could put Pam's soundbites on here. Like the one wher she asks (as a mother) has she suffered enough and then says she then has to welcome her son's new wife who is a PRAT. LOL.
Why, if there is a hitman, there is no hitcar?
lol sprite... there is no reason to this game!
lol jacula
While Victoria wonders why the hair that was once 'there' is now making a break for her ankles.
m6/24
she cracks me up... i have some old cassettes of hers, with Acorn Antiques on... my gosh... they should carry a warning for if you are listening when you are driving!
h6/27
h6/27x2
h6/27x3
C7/48
Kathy - It may well be Celia Imrie or Julie Walters that has compromised your driving there. Celia plays 'the snob' and Julie (a fellow brummie born girl) plays the doddery old waitress).
h6/36
yeah,,...julia walters is so excellent... i loved Dinner LAdies when I was living over there... she is also good in Calendar Girls
m6/24x3
cathy22w - Is that a 2nd one?
Watch the waitress doddring through the cafe with a tray in her hand - sheer brilliance!
am chuckling thinking of it... i miss the brit humor stuff... we don't get enough here... lol
Haven't even given the grid a look yet! All hail to you Pam Ayres for that! Luv ya girl.
lmao
h6/27x4
Oh! First word I found was a 'get your ti**s out for the boys!' word. :-(
Are you okay over there Jacula?
well, I gotta get my 6 hours of sleep. guess the remaining 111 will have to wait until tomorrow. good night!
night carla!
plurple - yes, I'm fine , thanks.
i7/28
ok.... finally finished the wine that has been my companion since 8pm.. it's now 1.41am and perhaps i should get some kip!!! night all!! i WILL finish this tomorrow!! and.... it's FRIDAYYYY!
Don't your family members get worried that you guys spend too much time on this game?
Nope... it does wonders on my mood, so they let me ;)
I only have 63 so far. B****RDS!!
c7/48 x 2... Morning all :)
Hi Debs, morning!
38 words here and off for now. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZONK!
Morning Sprite.. or evening ..or very very early morning.....
Morning Jacula> Have you been up all night?!!!
8 am here, so I am about to take my kids to school, do some shopping and then come back for the other 87 words.
I am confused... thought that there was this 'hiat' or 'hiate' word, meaning an empty spot where something is missing... but it won't take.
7am here Sprite so i have to get mine ready too. I`ll be back later, only wanted the letter count!
good morning from rainy scotland
Good morning from sunny Hungary. 8:40 and time to go to work - have a nice day, you all!
Morning all.Work today.What a shock.See you later.
e8/80
e8/50
never mind, that word is 'hiatus' and it isn't in this grid. Not in a valid way anyway. Some hiatus in my brain, right?
is it e8/80 or e8/50?
its e8/50 - cannot type. Sorry
i found e8/50, can't see an e8/50. perhaps a typo?
A typo like yours, LOL!
O7/36, related to C6/24
morning all!
which c6/24 would that be Sprite? I have 3
Oops... got it
Funny, isn't it, how asking something in the log somehow makes you see the answer? ;)
It happens to me so often too. Hmmm... maybe I should ask for a hint on that e8/50 that is eluding me.
Omg... it worked
ROFLOL!
I swear... I've been looking and trying everything. Then it just jumped out at me
Hey, Hugs!
Hey, Syr! How are ya?
I'm all right, and you? I thought I'd stop by before bedtime. :)
I'm good. It's past my bedtime, but I just can't tear myself away.
I know how that is!
I'm so bad! Some nites it's after 4
:)
At least you can be sure that somewhere on the world it is a decent time to play babble :)
lol - yep... it's always a good time to Babble
any time is babble time...what is really great is there is also someone to chat with at the same time.
That's true!
You guys burning the midnight oil always lighten up my babble mornings :)
what time is it there Sprite?
9.42 am now. Kids in school, groceries in the fridge, so mum can play babble.
Wow! 7 hrs ahead of me.
0845 in UK now off to play snooker at 1000
I am blessed, the new babble grid comes on at 7.00 am
You get such a head start on us
Yes, it's the ideal time. I can play some before waking up the kids and when they are getting dressed, then I make them breakfast, get them to school, shop and get back to the grid, lol. That is, if life doesn't get in the way.
Sounds just right
I submit 'rehug' for a making-it-up cuddle with your love. Can't find that last R and it is driving me wild.
I'm stuck on 1 R too
And 1 C. grrr
I have: Ra4 x5, Ra5 Re4 x2, Re5 x4, Re6
Another Re5 it is.
re 5/20 & re 5/14
T7/40
could you pass on a clue for that t7
T7/40: becomes a biter T7/28: more irritated T7/40: nice play to go out to T7/52: in that direction
how come raita's not a word? had some last night
S7/52, S7/40, S7/28
thanks for the clues sprite... I have 2 out of 4 solved
Nice work! That darn E-color is back, by the way. Searched for it for half an hour, literally.
I hate that colour Sprite, it`s as bad as the slimming "D" word!!!!
I couldn't agree more!
Oh, and since it isn't in this grid, I can put it here, another one I really hate: anoa! Can't seem to remember that one.
Like me with "naoi" :)
and haole
Right, that is a bad one too. Strange, isn't it, they come by so very often and still they give me the chase.
Yeah, this English language is far too complex at times like these!
Hi Everybody. Struggling with the last O. I have o4/7 o5/14 o6/24 o7/36 o4/5 o5/10 o4/6 Anyone know what the last one is?
Dianne - Oc 6/33

Could someone enlighten me ...... how many 'm' words are there today ?

Thanx
Any info in the 9 letter word - I've been trying to get some actual work done and have not been following the chat as much as I want to :(
Morning Dianne, I I've just got back in from a meeting, last posting I saw was early and just said c8/65 and C9/84. Can't help more than that yet.

...woof growl bark yap grrrr :) Everyone should learn a foreign language lmao :'D
You and Lola always make my day !!!!! :) Where is she anyway ?
Lola's probably lurking. Just lay a trail of Just Brazils with a pot of coffee at the end and she will appear like magic :D
She can always join me and macadam for lunch but she`ll have a long drive...... so could you, but it would be tea time by the time you arrived !!:)
Trying so hard to find the last T7. I have t7/40 - dental t7/28 - more irritated 7/40 venue Any hints for this thick head?
I know. I can get to Edinburgh in 90 mins but it would take me about 4 hours to get to you...even if I flew South West Air to Manchester and hopped. Coffee would be cold :(
Sorry Dianne, i'm still missing lots of those myself. Will see if I can catch up with your list :)
Dianne: Glance at sprite's 3:38 AM message
ROF LOL.... Oh well........ another time then ;)
Sandbox - I saw that but since "over yonder" ins't in the grid I don't have a clue about the direction word.
Add a letter to the t6/27
Dianne - sor of think scissors but with a lisp!
I kept glaring at 'thereat' as if it was personal lol. Sounds like flat harp :)
Fmitch - great clue after I got my tongue up on the roof of my mouth! Thanks.
LOL, now am off in search of the e8/50
Morning all! Love the lisp approach with the hint about putting tongue on top of roof of mouth! it worked! LOL
Hi Jen

If there is an o5/14 could I have the second letter or a clue please.

Thanks! :)

Fmitch - any help on the 3 S7s? I have the s7/40 but no luck so far with the other two.
Jen - see Anj's 5:12 post for some good clues on this.
If they would only let me rearrange the grid......
Awesome, thanks again!

Hi Bobsta!

Morning Ginger! Yes, it's a co9... a type of Chevy car
c8 & c9, small ship used in anti-submarine warfare. Chev Stingray.
Thanks BradyJack!
thanks for that Jen ;o)
I think this is the longest I've seen Dr_God's stats generator take.....
Never mind, looks like it pays to hit that refresh button a few times during play.
what do you mean Brandyjack... are your stats not showing?
Nope, I just got his little blue rolling pin. Then I hit refresh and it displayed properly after that.
learning a lot about what i consume this week... mental note: dont take nasty cough syrup on an empty stomach. *uggles*
Morning all, Anj love the brian icon, eva - ewww... sorry

wow, c6,7,8,9 thanks for the clue BrandyJack... got me all those in one swoop!
morning again, all.... just got to work, so having a few mins here first!
Good morning, everyone! My daughter's off to school, my son's watching a movie... finally Mommy can BABBLE!
how was girl scouts last night Jera
down to the last 32 and struggling
down to my last 145 and struggling rofl
Fun, but tiring, mtnjock! Lotsa business at first meeting.
I think my back yard will be filled with kids a lot this fall!
Hopefully they won't scare off all the deer...
The boy scout troop I work with meets year round, but the start of school year always brings in newby's
I like meeting year round, dunno why most people knock off in summer. Hard to coordinate vactaion schedules, I guess.
I guess I should start finding out about Boy Scouts pretty soon, my son, Gwyd will be four in 2 weeks!
I keep seeing corset, but it just won't take. lol
shhh everybody Gwen is seeing things lol
I tried to make it take cravet for about 5 minutes... finally broke down & pulled out the dictionary... duh, it has 2 a's, LOL!
Sometimes it helps to be able to spell in this game (sometimes it doesn't)!
all the best people Jera, I did exactly the same thing.
I think you need to be creative and persistent, some of these words are quite unbelievable
...you just know someone is going to get frustrated looking for a Chevy Corset Stingray don'y you rofl...
oh and completely off your rocker because we keep coming back
cub scouts or explorers (unisex scouting, actually cool for familys with young teens...
LOL Anj, I was just working something along the same lines!!!!
How uptight are they about God in Boy Scouts these days, I've heard some horror stories?
don't forget to look for goatee ladies, trust me, I keep seeing it ... swear its there...
...they probably let an oath fly when they drop a log on their foot... ;)
Anj, I like your (new?) icon... Brian is cool!
Cheers Jera :) He's a cool dawg. Might stick with him for a bit...
Our council just cares that the child has a spiritual foundation. Midtown Memphis is a very diverse area and some children practice very secular religions or philosophies (we have a taoist child in our group, makes for very interesting discussions about why not to do things).
Hey, jocate's a word, right? It's when you look for someone with a laughing attitude...
mtnjock, that word is there!
That sounds really cool, mtnjock,,, I really thingk diversity is the key... understanding that people are people & everyone is worthy of respect (except for, say, axe murderers!).
OMG, I just typed it in, and it threw it out... must have mispelled it.
...we're all different :)
I keep trying to make veer fit
I think I'm gonna change my icon weekly, just to stay flexible
Good day, global babblers.
I think my husband likes Family Guy because it makes him look good..
um5 18 ur5 10 ur5 10 ur4 4 ut5 10 Can anyone tell me which U I am missing please?
Hi Judi
uv4/7
uv4/7
I just fell of my chair laughing at Stewie and was hooked ever since. Haven't got series IV over here yet though. Does anyone watch American Dad?
TY :-)
Gwyd has his Stewie moments... when I say that N word (no), he gives me a look that would reduce mere mortals to a pile of smouldering ashes.
Well I have to run. Bit pushed for babbling time today but might be back for a quickie later. Have fun :)
Later, Anj
Jera, the sort of 'what the deuce?!' look with added 'plotting your untimely demise...' lol
babble has a lot to answer for... keeping me up at night
there goes that s7/28 again
I was so tempted to get back on last night, but I just couldn't... went to bed at 11, which is unheard of for this nite owl.
Hi all - Its good to see that the Girl Guide & Scout movement is thriving. I run Rainbow Guide 5-7yrs and assist at a Brownie Guide unit here in Wales UK. We did finish for the summer and I've spent the last two evenings planning the next terms programme.
i went to bed at 1.30am!!! blimey... then was up at 7am to get the kid off to school
I love planning!! I have to really rein myself in since the Girls are supposed to be starting to be more active in the planning process (especially my daughter's age group).
When we moved last December, we switched Councils... very different here, much better organized!
Cathy, I forgot... boy/girl? How old?
a boy, Ben, 11 and a half... and becoming more of a stereotypical teenager every day!
That's a great age. Sprite (my daughter), is 9 1/2 going on 30 sometimes.
Jera I know the feeling! Our Rainbow movement has its 18th birthday this month so national parties are being held. Still plenty of craft opportunities this term and I can't wait for our 1st meeting next week.Being busy definately gives me more motivation to be organised. Will be babbling till dawn so that I can fit it all in!
lol jera - it is a great age, sort of in between being a little boy and a full blown teenager. a tweenager. lol
I hear you, snowyowl. So how do Rainbows compare to Brownies? Do you still have Brownies in the UK?
Jera,Yes Rainbows are 5-7yrs, brownies 7-10 and Guides 10 - 26(inc rangers). I do r/bows & brownies and my daughter (26) runs a Guide and Ranger unit.
Sprite really wants me to lead her troop, but it seems Brownies leaders are more needed. I found an excellent Junior troop for her, talking with other leaders last night. The tiny one she was in last year (moving mid-term stinks!), disbanded, everyone either lost interest or moved.
We are coming up on 100 years of Girl Scouting, which should be really awesome, Nations's Capital does some great stuff!
The 10 - 14 age group here finds it the hardest to keep girls and leaders. We find we get large units of 20 girls plus or tiny ones. The youngest girls are a joy and I have a theory that Guide Guiders are born not made as they have the most difficult job, keeping teenagers happy and motivated.
It's the same way here. ITA about Leaders/Guiders. It's a calling like the clergy! Someone was joking last night about the tag phrase to recruit Leaders... it's only an hour a week (what a crock). My response... not if you do it right!
Its nice to know that the time joke is global! My usual recruiting strategy is to invite a unit helper (non uniform) in and after 6 weeks I just slip in that they are doing the job so they may as well wear the uniform & make the fun official! Its worked so many times. Don't you just love gullible friends?
We had a lot of moms volunteer to be Leaders, but it remains to be seen how many will follow through. I think every parent should register & do basic training. That way if there's an emergency, there's a plenty of official adults to jump in.
My scary motto is... they'll be running the world in a few years, they need to be taught how to do it well!
or we will end up with loads of Becky's running the world <shudder>
How true scary isn't it how much influence you have. It's nice tho' to see the girls coming through . My newest adult leader was my 1st Rainbow guide nearly 12 years ago and that feels really good. hope to speak to you again later. The laundry calls! Yours in Guiding
YIGGGS!
Who is Becky, Moozey? Thatcher?
OMG Moozey - Becky. Poor misguided child (guiding pun). I'd almost (but not quite) forgotten her. Been quite peaceful around here hasn't it? and long may it continue> Jera Becky was the 14 yr old a few days ago who wrote in text speak and was generally abusive. The only good thing was that she made me want to spell and punctuate really well!
Can anyone tell which T i'm missing? Judi.Guess the size of something
Judi there is only one e8 es8/50 to guess
Thank you Csmith and Macadam. Earlier posts said there was 2 E8s. Didn't catch the correction, but it is good news. One E8 was bad enough.
Ettu, Brute? Apparently not. (I know... it's two words.) Phooey.

but the clue WAS clever!
Thanks, Ginger. It's so rare I get to help others. Usually begging for clues myself.
Hello.I wondered when you`d be back.
add an e to a word that means : "A landing place; an elevated staging upon a wharf for discharging coal, etc., as from railway cars, into vessels."
Hi all! Late start today but at least it's Friday which means I can play 'til some ungodly hour tonight if I have to!
thanks!!!!!
Hi Lola, have a look at all messages and you will notice your ears should have been burning!!!!

Thank you, Gwen. Got caught up in Bobsta being in the house. (He's so disruptive!)
madhatter see on the green bar where it says show all messages, click on that and scroll right down to the very end

Any clues for the e8/50?

hi judi, long time no see.. krisitn there is a 6,7,8,9 all associated with that c..
Hiya, Baggo.
My Latin is half-assed at best. So, I guess "utero" is no good unless there's an "in" in front of it?
that surprised me too . . . any clue on the h7?
H7 a continental measurement of land
H7: "A metric unit of area equal to 100 ares".
e/8/50 - I got one from the contractor before having him do work on my house. h/7/48 - a unit of land area measure
thanks!
Refinnej: love your icon. Is that the little creature from the Harry Potter movies?
Thanks! Yep, that's Dobby. How do I get that flag by my name to show where I'm from? I've tried putting my state in the location box, and US and USA, and United States. What am I missing?
You guys are making this game fun. Your clues are making this more fun by trying to figure them out. Thank you all.
"Master has given Dobby his sock!". He's the cutest.
Sheila R - if you thought you were confused before, just keep reading our clues. Bwa ha ha ha ha!
I am still stumped on the e8, any more help guys?

sorry ..... kristin :p
Anyone care to throw me a bone for the U's and I's. The words starting with vowels continue to be my nemesis. Have the i7 and an i5-16. Have one U4. * Bobsta - just teasing. Would you feel better if I told you you were as cute as Dobby?
Lola - you still out there?

Hi cbr! Yup, hunting the R's :)
Did you notice my farm friend is actually in today's puzzle? I almost laughed when I found it but held off offering any clues to the g4/5 and 6/21!
judi missing an i4/7
cbr- noooooo! I had not seen that one yet!!! lmao :D
So, anyone know how to get that flag next to my name?
Just showing my mom my icon, nothing to see here, folks...
reffinej: just have to make sure you put where you're from in your profile i think
i think the flag comes from your profile
I tried, but nothing seemed to work. I put Michigan, US, USA and United States. What has worked for others from the US?
refinnej - if you have entered your country, but it still doesn't show up, I would e-mail dr. god - he can fix anything!
Refinnej - enter your profile info and submit it. Then, refresh the profiles page. It should take. Same thing happened to me the other day.
ok is this icon better than tink??
Thank you all for your clues. I have to go so the movers can finish loading our house. Thanks for the entertainment. Hopefully I can check back later.
Hi all, can anyone tell me why ocre isn't a word ? Like yellow ocre, y'know ?

Anyone have a clue for the Th7-52?
Is the J used at all?

nope
Doesn't seem so, tweeds312 . The word postings are at the beginning of day for letter/word counts.

Judi - do you have the it5/16??
any hints for th7/52?
Aah, thanks mtn!
That is too funny!!!
Any one have a list of M's? ? I won't offer (or threaten) like Anj did :p
But, I think it was yesterday, it accepted the name of a river in northern England. It's completely capricious!

No, jrs, those words have another, uncap meaning.
Torgone: the it5-16 sounds just like the et5-16. Only the first letter is different.
another ma4
another ma5/14
Ooooh. Capricious. Major points for using a 10 letter word, Ers.
Judi - I was giving you a clue to the th7/52!
you don't have to make it obvious, or give it away... just a little hint of a hint, a suggestion of a hint, really... th7/58. anybody? please?
hi all any clue for the st/7..not the speech impediment?
thanks tor
A landing place; an elevated staging upon a wharf for discharging coal, etc., as from railway cars, into vessels
Uneaixoise: thanks anything you need before I go?
beek - an earlier clue - say scissors with a lisp
st 7 Brancaster St... or what a houthwife doeth with the kidth, she st... home
Ha ha, Torgone. I got it now - plus the other two related to it. An alternative clue for the Th7-52 would be "scissor" with a lisp.
ta jessmom..brilliant clue!
Gee thankth!
There's a th7/58?
would someone like to share the point total for today (so I can find my last @$)& m)
and wouldn't I just love to have found that in the grid. oh well (sigh), it's back to work for me. can you imagine, some passerby saw me babbling and thought that i was playing bingo.
Does anyone have any "simple" clues for ea5/10 and ei6/27 for lil ole "simple" me pleeeez :o)
No, Jera. But there is a Th7-52 and a Te7-28. And yes, I need a clue fo the Te47-28.
Thanks, Judi... hey, me, too! Glad to have the t40's, though (only 2 I hope?)!
ea5/10 - one who consumes ei6/27 - _____ this or that
ea5/10 is one who ea4/4.
te7/28 - use te4/4 and add the last three letters
I mutht be thtupid. I'm thtill not getting the st7...
You had a lisp, we all had another speach impediment!!
Porky pig does this when he speaks
the lisp goes with the scissors, the st7 is the other speech impediment. ok, ok, i'm really going this time.
begrery... I need more... which te4/4, maybe?
Never mind. I h-h-h-had the one, and just got the other. Thanks.
Jera - shool exam
Thanx Saladspork i`ve finally got all the e`s :) Torgone put your st in front of your u5/10
what other s7 is there? I only have the one
There are at least 3 s7's. Which do you have?
the one (obviously) I thought needed. the speach impediment
Judi started me on this te7/28 path... now I can't find my way...
Jera, you will kick yourself. think of this definition - more on edge or irratable than usual. (remember to start with te (school exam))
Hey, but I found the es8/50 looking for the te7/28, LOL!
Regarding the 7's - I still don't understand the clue for the th7 or the clue for the st7 that isn't the speech impediment... Help me pleaze, it is driving me insane...
just got that burgery
Jera - take the te4 (exam) and make it an adjective. (as in an ending meaning "more than").
Yay, got it! I was trying to make the wrong ending work!
torgone, didn't mean to be testy or anything with my reply to you, I have the st7, I would really like some help.
Does anyone have a clue for the 9 letter word? It's driving me nuts.........
And if anyone asks, "what's an adjective?", you're off the team!
ha ha ha :0
bundlao...pl of the c8 65
you know, I always feel so good about how I'm doing, and then I read the chat and realize that I'm nowhere near close...as you brits would say "bugger"
C7, remember a pop song about a little red chevy?
Movieman th7 is where you go to see a play, but use the American ending!
I meant C9 bundlao
There's an st7/40 that's a landing place; wharf There's an sh7/52 that's to insert into a covering or sh6/36
Jeez, I got 107 words and I couldn't see that one LOL - thanks lottijw
Does anyone here watch the History channel? They are doing a special on Rome (a favorite subject of mine)... anyway, it's a BBC production, evidently & sometimes I feel like I need a Brit translator...
No worries, mtnjock. I'm just a slow keyboarder.
Tell me more about the longer sh words...
Missing 2 H's, any help? ha4/7 ha4/7 ha5/16 ha4/7 ha6/27 he4/7 he4/7 he6/27 he5/22 he5/16 he5/22 he6/36 he4/10 he4/7 he4/7 he4/10 he5/22 he4/7 hi6/36 hi4/7 hi6/27
Jera - no, but there's a mini-series on HBO right now entitled "Rome". It's pretty X-rated. Toga's more on than off. Shagging each other rotten!
You`re welcome :o) Must leave it at 151 words for now. See you later guys and gals.
Hey, the ancients knew how to party! Not much of that pesky Christianity ya know...

We don't get HBO, but History channel has been doing specials I think to kind of support that series.
Snap Lola ttfn. x
Now there's a hint I can appreciate, begrery!!
Roman soldiers... hubba hubba.
Afternoon everyone! Back in for a few more words. Ahhhhh, Rome! Good show, but waaaay too much of the nasty, since it has no barring on the story line. IMHO
Right. Commercials should say "Stay tuned for more T & A on the Apian Way"
The History channel stuff is racy enough for me... I get the idea, they did it anywhere, everywhere, all the time. I don't need to see it, okay?
Bergrery.... isn't that a s6??? I am obviously missing something!
I must be the most prudish pagan alive (LOL)... sex just isn't a spectator sport to me...
In my opinion there never needs to be a reason for gratuitous sex...then again I'm 27
Yeah, it covers both of them, just different spelling (add letter to the end)
sh6 is the noun; sh7 is the verb. How's that, Judi?
With this game, if you find a word & there's an s or an e next to the last letter, go ahead & add it on... it's prolly a word, LOL!
begrery...ur missing another he6 27 and the he7 48

Ok, Babblers. You now have control over your flag icons. I've added a "Country" field to the Profile area. The country you select controls what flag shows up. Just don't go choosin' some wacky country, because I've only created flag icons for a few countries.
thanks Dr_G
Can someone help me with the last i? I have it7/28 & it5/16.
How did you do the flags before???
Ok Dr. God. I updated my profile, and we will see what we will see :)

PAV3, I'll quite willingly admit I'm an addict and a humble one, and that I'm starting to think crack would be better for my self-esteem and mental health, to say nothing of my schedule.

lianakate I hope you find something soon. such a terrible disaster. I'm sure we all send our thoughts and prayers to all the victims and those trying to help them.
I do not imagine it ever will....but then I am over keeping everything "white glove ready"...cleaning house when you have teens and hubbies is like shoveling snow in a blizzard.
edmo - soz, misread the post...
Could ne1 be so kind as to post a rundown of the m's? I am missing three and they are doing my head in :o( Many thanx...

Thanks MU
Where is Brandy Jack today he or someone usually posts a second letter list.....
Okay, need help with he4/10 & he748. I have one of the he4/10's but don't know how to say it without giving it away!
I'm at fifty words.... and now you tell me there's a list!
I too am a grandmother (of 5 under 6 yrs) but mine do go home( sometimes)!. I take my hat off to you, going through the teens again isn't easy. Saying that, they are the joy of my life and so much fun.
He doesn't do it til late now, somebody complained when he posted it "too early" one morning (made me mad... the complainer, not brandyjack).
I remember the Joy part..... and for the most part I just roll with the flow.....
JW just dawned on me that you probably meant a breakdown of the letters. It will take a bit of time to get them if that is what you need
ra4/6 ra4/4 ra4/4 ra4/7 ra5/16 ra4/7 re5/14 re5/20 re4/4 re5/14 re6/18 re5/10 re5/10 re4/4
Its the only way to go & babbling does help to cut out the real world doesn't it ?
Jera..sounds like u r missing the h's beteen he6 36 and he4 7?
Mu, that would be nice, but I was also happy to learn that there were 195. It means I have many to go...thanks again.
Jera.... I missed the complainer post.... I like getting the second letter list....early or late.... if someone does not want it they can just not look.... My 2 cents worth.
Yes, PAV... can you help me out?
Jera wish I could help but we're looking for the same words
Blaze it was like my second day Babbling, so I was very disappointed... wanted as much help as possible!

LIttle late tonight.
Diolch yn Fawr brandyjack (TY in welsh its about all the welsh I know)
Don't make me have to start speaking Gaelic!!
hello there snowyowl !
Which is three more words than I know. You're quite welcome.
Snowyowl, I love your name... but why not brown or tawny, since you are a Guider?? (I have both pins in my collection, btw)
hi live_n Perhaps you should be saying morning all? Good luck with the puzzle & happy babbling.
I have 5 he4/7's!
G'day t'yee then , well I got a head start earlier on and have 110, quite a few to go but if I should be handy to anyone...
I still need help with last H... he4/10, please!
Jera we already had a boss (brown owl) and a tawny owl and they tend to say barny owl here instead of barn owl and I'm 'barny'enough if you know what I mean.I couldn't take the risk! So I chose Snowy Owl which is the nastiest of them all but sounds fantastic!
jera your top right hand corner
All birds are nasty, I hate them (up close). But I love crows (corvis... which I have been trying to spell all day!). Owls are cool, my mother collected them, so I have quite a few things around the house.
the last U ur 5 has me stumped can anyone provide a clue for me...??
Jera..ur correct 5 he4 7's...he4 10 upper right....only four tiles to choose from...no defin..could be an acronym
What about it, edmo?
ur5 - a salt of uric acid
jera think of beckoning someone then add an s
Only 4 tiles to choose from, first 2 are he... won't take the only 2 choices!
live_n I have that one need the other
jera last 2 letters are hs
Oh for pity's sake... got it, thanks! Kept trying to use the M with the corner clue, LOL!
alright I don't know how to describe it but the ending resembles the first three vowels of the alphabet
Okay, I have to get off for awhile, hubby needs to do some work from the office. Hopefully be back later to finish last 44 words!!
Jera so did I. I'm not sure that my vocabulary needs to improve this much!
Line_n you're a doll.....thanks
goodnight from scotland im off for a dram. good luck to all.
Only 82 words to go....but alas I must cook dinner and do all those things.....(blah blah) I will probably not be back till after 10pm (my time) when the new puzzle comes out.
Goodnight Blaze & edmo it was good to babble with you
need assistance with the two co6's - any cluez and/or def. would be gratefully received...
By the way - the one co6 I have is the one that sounds like the American car...
movieman 3 x co6....co6 33 x 2 and co6 24
all done--goodnight from Nashville!
my son wants to see me post something -- no questions or answers here ;-)
There are three co6's : - Labor exacted by a local authority for little or no pay or instead of taxes and used especially in the maintenance of roads. - a coat with flaps (think a very cute coat) - A war vessel, ranking next below a frigate
missing the re5 20..help?
re5/20 rhymes with mayhem
once again it's the easy ones that escape the sight...
live_n - Any more cluez for the coat one...it is beginning to send me completely loopy :o(
yeah yesterday I missed one that was mostly in a straight line a four letter!
It rhymes with g6/21
Iee don't knowee howee to describee itee ... thee coat thingee
corvet
how about the st7 that's not a speech impediment
live_n - It's another of those (possibly) made-up words...
Got to post something to see if I get the English flag! Not done too well tonight, too busy elsewhere, so I'm going to bed now.
YEAH!
st7 : A landing place; an elevated staging upon a wharf for discharging coal, etc., as from railway cars, into vessels. with an e on the end
yep there seem to be plenty of dodgy words movieman... !
think 'cover for a sword and add a vowel
Now I need cluez and/or def. for the me4 that isn't the netting or to distribute, the me5 that isn't a measuring device, & the mi6...
Okay, fellow babblers, I need one more word which has been evading me forever, and it's probably looking at me right in the face. Does anyone have a clue for the RE5/20, please?
You may need to do this if the edging of your skirt comes down
re5/20 try to "hem again"
sorry movieman, I'm not that far yet
movieman, think drugs...
movieman - for the me4 try a short name for a popular illegal drug in crystal form
me 4 and 5 are related. think of a spirit that is me....and sometimes drunk by tramps and then the plural
movieman..I sent the m's but now I see I'm also missing one...as for your two me's ...there's a pandemic almost for these 'labs' popping up in the nicest of places for the scariest of drugs now prevalent...
live_n, thanks, like I said, right in front of my nose. I have finally finished, unlike yesterday, 195 words, 2998 points. Does anyone need any help?
i have a whole of 35 words lol not may to go
Mary - a clue for the mi6 would be most helpful... Many thanx...
I have the i/7, but can't find the other two
it4/6, it7/28, it5/16
Mary, I'm missing the other me6 that's not French, if u'd be so kind...
Alright! so the mi6 is like mom with an i
Mi6/33 an alternate word for mother, change the first vowel.
ME6/24 it's an offspring of a white person and a quadroon (west Indies).
I could use the ei
cbr1965 you want ei this or that
ei6/27 another word for "or"
can't believe I missed that one - thanks much, live_n
Mary (or anybody) - a clue or definition for the ra5 would be very useful, thanx...
ra5 - Appearing or ripening early in the year, as flowers or fruit.
ra5/16 ripening or appearing early add a vowel to your ra4/7
I'm off, good night all.
Goodnight all - sticking to my new rule of bed by 2.00am 141 words only but got to go now. Good luck all
sweet dreams
Goodnight everyone - am off now (I don't usually play Babble this late!!), and I would have completed it if it wasn't for those pesky t's (damn them all to hell!!!)
thanks live_n mostly dream about word definitions now!
maybe someone will come up with a meaning for the dodgy mi6!
Isn;t there only one mi6? The one like your parent with a different first vowel? Is there another?
that's the one it would be nice to define cbr1965
only one mi6, scottish momma.....
oH it's scotts !
for the missing i4. the express lane, 8 i---s or less, fot the i5, h6/36 headless....
can anyone help me with the me6 not the french for occupation one ?
still working the ma's
me6 is The offspring of a white person and a quadroon
thanks anyway brandyjack
Good night Mary... Live-n, see Mary's post just a few messages ago,,I'm also looking for that in re: the mi6, ther's an hi6 and ti6 along the same train of thought, but for this one think the TV character Mr. Smithers, w/o the s's :)
live_n - the mi6 is defined as slang for to fuss and bother
I've got it but not come across the me6 before... is it pejorative PC or what ?
Thanks cbr1965 !
I have no clue and had never heard of it before - it is based on the word mestizo is all I can tell you based on the nifty online dictionary!
ok thanks again!
But there are no PC police here
Can you help with the Ca7, live_n?
good ! but i like to know what a word implies too
sure ca7: A concave molding with a cross section that approximates a quarter circle... sounds italien.
the ca7 is in italien plural too
Got it - thanks!
What is black as hell, strong as death, and sweet as an angel's kiss ?
...
the coffee I am about to consume ta da x
coffee?
do you always pop up like that with the magic word minski ?
rarely. I suck at babble. that one is just what I am longing for at this exact moment. too late for it though.
It's all in the preparation... give a couple of spoons a short sharp shock of steam, no more no less ... apparently the shorter the amount of time the powder spends with the water less cafeine and more aroma hits you!
oops I'm double messaging... maybe that's a sign, a flaw in the concoction
Relax live_n. It's a glitch only the poster can see.
;-)
Any help with r's would be great - i have a mental block against h, r and t and can't seem to find any new patterns
what d'y need in the r's ?
This is what I have so far: Ra4/4 Ra4/4 Ra4/7 Ra5/16 Ra4/7 Re5/20 Re5/10 Re5/10 Re4/4
I could do with a hint on a ca5; I have the one that sounds like a veg; the one that means to slice, and the passage one.
THe other is a symbol that you use to insert letters into text when editing - Bugs Bunny likes them too
live n, a plane takes on this in its hold.
Sorry - other ca5 is what ships carry - or semis - another definition is that gasoline helps the ca_ __
you need an ra4/4 like a running ra__
sorry that was ra4/6 like a running ra__
Only 1 more to go! Any clues for the ae 6 would be greatly appreciated and repaid in any clues you need. Pretty please???!
an re5/14 : a chain re___ion
Jax - here it is: The rust of any metal, esp. of brass or copper; verdigris
an re4/4 : anatomical mesh or network, as of veins, arteries, or nerves
an re5/14 : desert shrub of Syria and Arabia having small white flowers
and an re6/18 : having failed you take re____
Thank you CBR. I'm done! Can I help anyone? BTW I completed the puzzle yesterday and went DOWN in the rankings. That su**ed. I guess because I finished so late??? Even if everyone ahead of me finished too shouldn't I stay in place?? Oh well, supposed to be for fun right?
cbr - There's an ra4/6 ahead of your 4/4's
live_n you are my new hero - thanks so much!
Thanx cbr1965 Hi Jax
They are showing R's completed now - so only t's, h's and one m left - yay!
Hi live_n
Get this Jax - I jumped 40 places and I didn;t finish it yesterday!
oooh I've 4 left to finish but don't know which; I think I'll pause before recounting
Well congrats to you CBR!
I just think that is strange - I was prepared to get up and have dropped significantly - but I guess many of us in the lower echelons give up too easy and I got more than they did even I didn't finish -
right CBR and if you go for the high point value ones that helps too. some people just get on and get what they get, and of course they find the 4 letter ones first...
I don't know about Dr_God's secret formula for rankings, but words/points ratio, improvement, and time spent seem to be weighted heavily. I really don't know though. I have gotten a fairly consistent percentage of the words, completed a few, but I'm steadily dropping in the rankings. I just enjoy the game immensely, and if I can stay ranked among the better players, I'm happy.
AH time spent matters? Then it probably isn't a good idea to leave the window open all day when I'm at work! lol
Tor - same with you. I try to complete all under 200 but the ones over that are hit or miss. The time they had one over 400 it wasn't even fun after awhile.
Maybe that's why I went up because I got a significant number but was on a short time yesterday unlike every other day when I have it up and play off and on all day
I'm going to leave in a minute. Can I help anyone before i go?
any help for ti 6/24and any of th te 6/18?
Could use help with the a6/18, thanks Jax.
And I'm still short an mi5 - I have the one related to baseball and the one that is a liturgical headdress
ti 6- sounds like when you get an earring for the 1st time, but first letter is t instead te 6's - one who gives an exam, one who gets the exam and the first one is plural of a hard outer coating of a seed
mi 5 - plural of a small bug a6/18 - there are 2 of them. ar 6/18 - plural ar 5, at 6/18 is to affirm to be true or genuine
Thanks - I should have gone back through to look for plurals but I haven't gotten through the Hs or Ts yet and time's running out! I appreciate your help.
your welcome. I do that all the time myself
cbr - any last requests?
Gah Jax, I misspelled the at/6 at first go. Thanks for setting me right.
Well...if you're offering - I'm still short the two th7s
Coming right up.... One is a place you go to see a movie or a play One sounds like you are saying scissors with a lisp. Or it goes along with your mi 6 and ti 6, just with a th
YW Melissamay
Thanks Jax. i still wont finish but i'm closer!
yo... gee... busy day today... got some catching up to do!!!
glad to help. Last night in the last hour my brain was fried and I was pretty much just begging for words. I love to help when I can.
Thanks Jax - I've got 17 to go so I may actually finish this one tonight
cbr - Good for you! It sounds like you can do it.
well I'm off. Good luck to all and I'll probably see you all tomorrow, same time, same place. Have a good one.

Definitely - the t's and h's are killing me!

hi Sandbox...i dont rmember seeing brandyjack posting his usual list. Edmo and others have just posted strings along the day.
It was posted earlier so that is the real deal - the actual brandyjack second letter posting
the he5 you want is the plural of an he4/10
ahhh, musta posted that when i had to leave the computer! things happen so fast in here!
the he6 you want is the same as the other he6 with the second consonant changed
Thanks live_n - got the he5 - I must have miscounted the he4s - too many words today
cbr do you have the ha taht means a minute amount or a jot (scottish)
do you have the 6 words that build off of (exam)??
there's a frutti "t"
I just checked and I only have four so I'm trying to find the others off the exam - live_n, I don't know if I have it or not because I don't know what many of these words mean! I have a few with an interesting vowel combination though which seems Scottish
te4/4 te5/10 6/18x3 te7
can you decipher this : aaeeeerier ?
just missing one 6/18 now - I have the obvious and the one with a double vowel
t4..the exam t6 one who takes exam t7 irritable t6 what you could also call the person taking the exam t5/t6 outer coating and it's plural (which is to add a vowel..)
both those t6's end in the same letter...:)
Got 'em all - you guys rock!
9 words left - I will finish this one if it kills me
Alright ! I'm off . good luck and sweet dreams x
help..tu5
oops never mind, have it...and i'm brain dead! nighty night everyone and thanks for the help
just curious, isn't utero a word?
i think it has to have in -in front - weird
lbdawger - need anymore? I'm down to 9 words nd still need help - want to trade?
cbr i'm back what do you still need??
I'm down to 3 h's but Brandyjack's breakdown is telling me I still need four - can you tell me what is right? I have these: Ha4/7 Ha4/7 Ha4/7 Ha6/27 He4/7 He4/7 He5/22 He5/16 He5/22 He7/48 He4/10 He4/7 He4/7 He6/27 He4/10 He5/22 He4/7
ok you need an ha5 the person that doesn't like someone
my eyes have stopped focusing, so I'm giving up w/ 15 left. Good night, good morning, whatever.
and I swear I only hit "post message" once.
the thing that makes your house warm. i can't tell if you have the he5 and 6 that is the lifting one.he...ho...
do you have a clue for the He5/16?
Also need 6 (yes 6) more tes and I'm finally done. I have: Te4/4 Te4/4 Te5/16 Te6/27 Te7/40 Te4/4 Te5/10 Te6/18 X3 Te7/28 Te4/7 Te4/4
He5/16 is when how you warm something up
there are 3 he5/18 and an he6
He5/16 - put a pot on the stove and it he*** up.
cbr1965 and others who were discussing rankings earlier: A couple of things I have learned from Doc God include a) the rankings only look at the last 30 days. So even on a day you don't finish a puzzle, a puzzle you did poorly on 31 days before won't be considered any longer, which may well cause you rankings to go up on a day you don't even play. B) the rankings generator primarily looks at how many people got scores lower than you did. The completion of a more complicated puzzle with lots and lots of words does not, in and of itself, cause your rankings to go up, but the fact that completing a complicated puzzle will mean that there are far more people with scores lower than yours *will* cause your rankings to go up. That's what I've gleaned...
I do have the lifting one but didn;t have the warming one - which is funny since I just gave someone else a clue for the shorter form
thank you
ok here are your t's ta4/6 x2 ta4/4x2 ta5/14 and a te4/6 (yeah rah gooo te....)
Yay - H's are done - I was missing the person that does the lifting Baggo - thanks
rrrr that's always the tough one...hint hint hint
hey doogle...recover from the seizures???lol
Help for the th6/33? I don't have the th5/20 either. Any help much appreciated.
th5 and 6 A case, covering, or sheath, such as the pollen sac of an anther, the spore case of a moss, or the outer covering of the pupa of certain insects.
Thanks much, baggo!
your welcome
Indeed I have, Baggo. Thanks for asking!
baggo - when you posted earlier the ts for me those were all tes right? Not really tas?
the earlier ones refering to the exams were tes's but you are ta's
doogle , where are you at???
I had five tas by Brandyjack's count - is that wrong?
I think I had all the tas already so I didn't post them and only needed 6 tes to finish
oops my fault... you still need te5/10 pl te4/4 cow utters te5/10 te5/14 te6/24 te5/16
Thanks - down to 4 now - I thought I was really losing it because I couldn't find any more! Thanks very much
and add in your te4/6 and that should make 6
I did find that te4 pretty easily - I am very ashamed I couldn;t find it on my own!
the te5/10 is a region in nepal t6/24 A group of three lines of verse, often rhyming together or with another triplet te5/14 is a variant of your ti6/24
oh and the t5/16 is a pl of a te4...hope that helps..break is over gotta get back to the babies
I'm done - thank you so much - let me know if I can ever help you - I usually start early!
Anyone else need help? If so, I'll hang around
cbr.... *sticks hand up*
A couple of people helped me a lot today - usually I can get most myself but I couldn't do it today - maybe it's Babble burn-out! But I'll pay it forward if others need help! I know you don't - you always have the answers!

There isn;t an ac6 - there is an ac4 that is a unit of land measurement

Have been trying ALL DAY, more than 12 hours, to get that #$&^&#%^ st7/40. Just spent more than 2 hours plotting out and entering every possible combination (I thought!) and then I tried unsuccessfully to Google it, which doesn't surprise me as I am computer illiterate. Will someone please tell me how to get this word????? It is the last one I need to finish the puzzle!
you start with the s, go down two, go up to the left one, go up one, go left one, and then up to the left one.
or course, that's only one of them. for the other, you are on your own....
