12:48 am

er, "quickly"

12:49 am

how many z's r there ? ... how many r's and u's .... or the others for that matter ?

12:49 am

3 Z's

12:50 am

A 7 E 4 G 4 H 15 I 1 L 16 N 5 O 2 P 5 R 7 T 9 U 2 Z 3 4 letters – 58 4 letters – 13 6 letters – 7 7 letters – 2

12:51 am

I'm 'going pro' tomorrow; I find it impossible to complete a puzzle without Brandyjack's lists.

12:51 am

ah .... thx hugs & Hazzardous ....... here i was looking for more u's and i already have them ... along with the z's :p

12:52 am

Is it now discouraged to have that type of list for the non-pro folks?

12:52 am

List of long words so far: L7/56 U7/28 E6/18 H6/27 L6/30 O6/33

12:52 am

Is there a clue for the u or l words ???

12:53 am

I don't think so - the real advantage to having Pro, as I use it, is the stats panel, and it's not like we can give that to a non-paying user...

12:53 am

Don't believe so, HighEnergy. Most of us are willing to post the stats in the log, but usually we are too busy entering words in the beginning.

12:56 am

Well, with so few words in this one, I'm delighted to help... ---- Word lengths ---- 4 letter words: 58 5 letter words: 13 6 letter words: 7 7 letter words: 2 ---- 1st letter counts ---- a - 7 e - 4 g - 4 h - 15 i - 1 l - 16 n - 5 o - 2 p - 5 r - 7 t - 9 u - 2 z - 3 ---- Letter counts ---- a - 62 e - 52 g - 8 h - 27 i - 38 l - 39 n - 44 o - 13 p - 7 r - 17 t - 20 u - 3 y - 10 z - 13 el 6 / 21 eo 6 / 18 le 6 / 30 le 7 / 56 =)

12:57 am

List of long words so far: L7/56 U7/28 E6/21 E6/18 H6/27 L6/30 O6/33

12:57 am

HighEnergy - Thanks for the list. I appreciate it.

12:57 am

The critical list for me was brandyjack's second letter list. But he doesn't often post it now.

12:57 am

Krys10, do you also find that knowing from which tile you have to start makes it a lot easier? I try to leave the stats panel till last because of that.

12:58 am

I think that 2nd letter list is giving away rather much, especially in the beginning. Never look at it, unless I get really stuck.

12:58 am

Yeah, it's definitely spoiled me - sometimes I print the puzzle out with the stats panel showing and play on paper until the next morning. Usually I don't have the discipline :)

12:59 am

yeah i do that too sprite. I use the stats panel as a last ditch clue giver.

12:59 am

Yes, thank you HighEnergy and Hazzardous.

12:59 am

Sprite, do you use a2zwordfinder? I've always wondered...

12:59 am

Mab - I know what you mean about Brandyjack's list. I get the puzzle at lunch time and play for a while. Then I try to finish (try being a very big word here) in the morning after I would see his second letter list. I miss that:(

1:00 am

The second letter list is great after you have been at it for more that four hours or you are really stuck.... althoug being a 24 hour game around the world. there is a strong possibiliy that you will spoil it for somebody. I like the second letter post when I am struggling at the end

1:00 am

Krys10: only as a very last resort, actually. If I am stuck on a few last words and I can't get them with all the wonderful clues and help in the log. Always feels a bit like cheating. :)

1:01 am

What is it someone said here once? Using a solver is cheating, everything else is "research" ;)

1:01 am

I'm still not good enough at this to not need the list, but I'm striving to be.

1:02 am

Lol, I thought that was you, Krys10 :D Wise words, anyway.

1:02 am

Ok, I'm going cross eyed and I still have to drive home. I'll be back in the morning!

1:03 am

nite krys10....see you later..

1:04 am

Drive safely, Krys10... not with half an eye on the print of babble ;) You'd think least they could do was put 'piano' in here, just for the fun of it.

1:04 am

Drive carefully Krys10. Morning, Baggo.

1:04 am

or geezer :)

1:04 am

hi mab

1:06 am

Or just 'giant', 5 letters... isn't asking much ;)

1:07 am

i keep seeing "genuine".

1:07 am

i'm going for phony sprite...

1:07 am

'Night Krys10!

1:07 am

I keep looking at that truncated giant too. Tiny words. Lots of 3-letters.

1:08 am

That's the problem with us suckers for words. If they aren't there, we'll make them up. :)

1:08 am

Finally got the G's! What a letter to choose to start off with!

1:08 am

i want navel too...

1:09 am

"Ophelia" just won't go away

1:09 am

i agree, we are always striving for the ultimate babble puzzle...more words than we could ever find..

1:10 am

Okay, one more teaser and then I'll stop: azalea.

1:10 am

night all ... be back tomorrow to try some more :)

1:11 am

That H5/30whatever, is nice. Reminds me of Shirley Booth.

1:11 am

me too. g'night kids.

1:11 am

'Night folks!

1:11 am

Sleep well!

1:12 am

Goodnight

1:12 am

nite boreetos...sleep well...

1:12 am

nite sfneil...

1:13 am

baggo I'm sticking around, for a while, at least

1:13 am

Now I'm seeing a nightie that's not there, so I think it's trying to tell me something. I'm off to bed! N4/4 N4/4, everyone!

1:14 am

I thought you were off for the night too Neil!

1:14 am

Nope. Just saying goodnight to the folks who were leaving!

1:14 am

G'Night Hazz!

1:15 am

sorry, hearin things on my end...must be time for bed...but we know that won't happen that h6 is eluding me... 8-)

1:16 am

I'm searching for that one too Baggo

1:17 am

I see in retrospect that was a bit unclear... maybe I should tuck in...

1:17 am

and i keep wanting to make it hyena which is totally not in the puzzle nor do the points match...lol

1:18 am

no, don't head to bed...stay with us a bit longer...

1:18 am

t6/45

1:18 am

And I want 'azalea'! No dice...!

1:18 am

We didn't mean to push you out the door!

1:19 am

hugabugs think of another name for bottom...

1:21 am

baggo I have though that word too...can not seem to get it on the word list...??? spelling ???

1:22 am

bottom h

1:23 am

think of the other spelling for a hot dog or frankfurter...

1:23 am

got it Baggoo what a Babble word that is ??

1:23 am

ARgh! Thank you... I got it

1:24 am

not many words in this one!!

1:25 am

T6/45 (my very first contribution today, lol)

1:25 am

there are 2 t6/45 (very close) got by noodling...cause i was busy chattin and couldn't remember what i'd entered and was too lazy to look down this oh so long list...lol

1:25 am

Is that the 2nd one?

1:25 am

Hitting the hay at 50... see you all later...

1:26 am

nite jera...pleasant dreams..

1:26 am

Nitey Nites Jera

1:26 am

Goodnight, Jera!

1:27 am

Hugs: yes, 2nd one. Like baggo said, they are very much alike.

1:27 am

I lost you all for a few minutes. We're getting a touch of Rita here, and it's very humid; my computer froze. My last word: portugal.

1:27 am

h4/10 seems we've hit plants this time around instead of fish... I've gotten 3 so far

1:28 am

mab, be safe!

1:28 am

Hope you are not too close, mab?

1:28 am

Where are you mab?

1:28 am

mab take care!!! we got some rita last night over the weekend and ooh she aint so nice...

1:29 am

Another word I keep wanting to try python!

1:29 am

I'm in the middle of New England -- miles away.

1:29 am

hugs, also 'ague'

1:30 am

I am glad, mab. Good luck with the side effects, though.

1:30 am

i head out sunday for the south..

1:30 am

Hugabugs, don't tell me the fishy spell is broken!

1:31 am

what will we do with no fish??

1:31 am

It's an enormous mass, Rita, enough to touch western Massachusetts.

1:31 am

Go green instead?

1:32 am

Breaking my promise to stop: league.

1:32 am

Phini has to be a fish.

1:32 am

poison ivy???

1:33 am

Well, although babble won't take it, at least 'eel' is there.

1:33 am

mab I remember we were evacuated from northern virginia from one that came up through the gulf... when i was a kid... can't remember the name now

1:33 am

I'm with zinnia

1:33 am

Actually there's 5 plant related words so far

1:33 am

ROFLOL! Baggo, that's just plain brilliant.

1:33 am

if you 'rewash' your hair (yesterday's puzzle), wouldn't that ungel it?

1:34 am

It would, Chessy. Guess babble is bald too.

1:34 am

so chessy you tried it too

1:35 am

Well my 47 words will wait until I have had some sleep... See tommorrow....

1:35 am

'night Blaze!

1:35 am

nite blaze...

1:35 am

Sleep well, Blaze.

1:35 am

G'Nite Blaze - sweet dreams

1:43 am

I cannot believe that it took g4/14.

1:45 am

I use it so often too. Yet it took me a bit before I saw it.

1:46 am

Hi all - words thin on the ground today!

1:48 am

Hi spellit - very thin indeed

1:52 am

well 7 left must wait til am...night all...

1:52 am

Good night!

1:52 am

Sweet dreams Baggo

1:52 am

night baggo, and brava! I have no idea where you got those words from!

1:52 am

Bye Sprite!

1:53 am

I am not leaving yet, mab, just said goodnight to baggo ;)

1:53 am

I mean, Night Baggo. Sorry Sprite.

1:54 am

sfneil...i'm a nasty little noodler...i still have 5's n 1 6 to find...and lots of words you see often on here...

1:55 am

baggo i had thought i had an eye for it, but this grid's got me doubting myself!

1:57 am

hello ol.....any clues for the t6/45 baggo?....just logged in :)

1:59 am

Same here, sfneil, I am getting nowhere. Can't even find that L7 so far.

2:02 am

It won't be too long before you do Sprite

2:04 am

Nice, hugabugs. :)

2:04 am

Great clue, Hugs, thanks!

2:04 am

:o) thank you

2:06 am

Well, I'm kind of getting a Bill Withers vibe from the clue, but I still don't see it!

2:07 am

Can I ask? What's a Bill Withers vibe?

2:07 am

sfneil, if you are making the same mistake I did, you need a longer strand of consonants.

2:08 am

Waaaah! *sobs* I should just go to bed, I think!

2:10 am

In that case, I wish you a nice, not-too-short night full of pleasant dreams.

2:10 am

I'm so desperate I'm trying French words

2:11 am

Makes me think again of baggo's brilliant poison ivy - poisson joke. I am beyond that point now, hugs... I am trying nonwords.

2:12 am

I am short one word for just about every box

2:13 am

I need 8 more, most vowel words :(

2:14 am

Finally finished the R's. i need double yours - 16

2:15 am

Who says complaining doesn't help? That were the vowel words. Now for 3 more Rs. Give a yell when you get stuck, I got most letters completed now.

2:16 am

Thanks for the help, gang, but I am obviously too dense to get any more of this tonight... see you tomorrow!

2:16 am

Bye sfneil, till tomorrow. :)

2:17 am

Maybe it will look wordier tomorrow. Night Neil.

2:17 am

NIght Neil.... have a good sleep.

2:18 am

I can't believe that so many of you are so close to finishing. I am soooo far away.

2:19 am

RIght, that's it. Thought I had entered that wet weather word a long time ago, sometimes it helps to check your list and see what's not there :) A mere 80 words / 4.41 / 928 points today.

2:21 am

Good job, Sprite. I'm now down to 14

2:21 am

What a star, Sprite! I'm sure Hugabugs is right on your heels.

2:24 am

I'm getting sore wrists from so much monkey typing

2:24 am

I am here for another 15 minutes or so, so if anyone needs a clue, just yell.

2:25 am

If i start Sprite, you'll be here longer than 15 min. ;o)

2:25 am

Hope this list below comes through ok in the formatting... =) ah 4/10 hi 5/16 ni 4/ 4 al 4/ 4 ho 4/ 7 oh 4/ 7 al 5/10 ho 4/10 op 6/33 al 5/16 hy 4/12 pi 4/ 6 x2 an 4/ 4 x2 in 4/ 4 pi 4/ 9 x2 az 4/13 la 4/ 4 pi 5/26 ea 4/ 4 x2 la 4/13 ra 4/ 4 x4 el 6/21 la 5/10 ra 4/13 eo 6/18 le 4/ 4 x4 ra 5/16 ge 4/ 5 x2 le 5/10 ra 5/28 ge 4/14 le 5/12 te 4/ 4 x3 gi 4/ 5 le 6/30 te 6/45 x2 ha 4/ 7 x4 le 7/56 th 4/ 7 x3 ha 4/10 li 4/ 4 ti 4/ 7 ha 4/16 li 4/ 7 un 5/10 ha 5/34 x2 li 5/10 un 7/28 he 4/ 7 lo 4/ 4 x2 za 4/16 he 6/27 na 4/ 4 x2 ze 4/13 x2 hi 4/ 7 ne 4/ 4 x2

2:30 am

For your 14 words, hugs? Not a chance, you'll find them soon enough ;)

2:30 am

Down to 13...

2:31 am

I copied it as well HighEnergy, and will make good use of it. Thanks.

2:38 am

Dianne: 2 alt. spellings for plant of the genus Dipsacus, of which one species (D. fullonum) bears a large flower head covered with stiff, prickly, hooked bracts. This flower head, when dried, is used for raising a nap on woolen cloth. (So now you know... but I won't make fun of you.)

2:39 am

2:44 am

Where ever have I been. It seems to be common knowledge, this plant (she said incredulously). Still, I don't know how you see the word. I expect I will in time.

2:47 am

Gone now, thanks for the fun and help :)

2:48 am

Bye. Have a great day, Sprite.

Thanks so Much HighEnergy. Your list really made the difference.

2:53 am

Amazing. Congratulations, Sprite.

2:53 am

<hugs> My pleasure. I'll stop spamming the chat board now!

2:57 am

And since it's 3 a.m. here. I'll be off to bed. Goodnight everyone. It's been a pleasure

2:58 am

Thanks again, HighEnergy. Goodnight Hugs, with all the listing and cluing you did for us tonight, plus completing two puzzles -- you're a superstar.

2:59 am

*blush* geez Mab... thanks

3:01 am

You certainly displayed your right to be wing-ed.

4:26 am

I have never seen the chat soooo quiet

4:33 am

morning Blaze

4:34 am

Morning Blaze & Ferrari. Bit small today, isn't it?

4:35 am

mornin Ferrari & Jacula small but not quite so easy... I am down to words le 6 /30 and le 7/56

4:36 am

mornung jacula, deliberate typo there I was up til 4 finishing the last one after playing cards (bridge) til late

4:37 am

wont take you long to get those then Blaze!

4:37 am

Blaze - the 2 words you want are related. The le7 might be used to describe the time it takes to do a 400-word Babble grid.

4:38 am

Prob. just as well it's a short one today. I've got 2 Christmas cakes to make.

4:39 am

Jacula/// thank you.... as soon as your clue was there I could see it as plain as day.... all the best to you on this grid....

4:39 am

yum can I lick the bowl?

4:39 am

Thanks Blaze.

4:39 am

Jacula do you soak them with rum..??

4:40 am

Blaze didn't you notice the hidden meaning in my clue?

4:41 am

LOL, yes Ferrari, if you can get here before the rest of the household. Blaze - No. They have one soak in sherry & another, 3 weeks later in brandy.

4:41 am

I new when you said 400 words... all I could think was long.....

4:41 am

Jacula.... that sounds delicious.....

4:42 am

Nitey Nite girls.....

4:42 am

Christmas, doesn't seem 2minutes since the last one

4:42 am

G'night Blaze. Sleep well.

4:43 am

Ferrari. I know! They've even got Christmas stuff in the shops now. No wonder the years seem to fly so fast.:-(

4:43 am

nitey nite Blaze, before you go do you have the final points score lol

4:44 am

928, I think, Ferrari.

4:45 am

the first Lakeland Christmas catalogue has already arrived

4:45 am

can anyone give me a clue for the 2nd 7 letter word, I have h7

4:45 am

Not forgetting the Studio Cards catalogue, which arrived before I'd even had my Summer hol.

4:46 am

sorry meant L7

4:46 am

MadHatter. Hello. If you look backFerrari & I have just given Blaze clues for the le7.

4:47 am

It's a un7

4:47 am

ferrari, just had my Lakeland catalogue land on the mat ...!

4:49 am

love their liquorice

4:49 am

thanx Jacula .... found it xxx

4:50 am

I reckon Christmas in the shops shouldn't start till after Halloween - which has also been around for 2 weeks. I mean do people need 6 weeks to buy plastic cobwebs and witches hats for goodness sake!

4:51 am

Chessy - I agree!

4:52 am

Halloween used to mean less than Mischief night, my daughter was born on 4th of November so it definitely means more in this house.

4:53 am

Hi All - looking for a little hint on the Pi4/9 (not the one like a helmet).

4:54 am

Hello to everyone. Haven't joined the chat log since Friday (no time!). Just grabbing a minute before the littlie is back from playschool. Thanks to everyone for the great stats and clues today.

4:56 am

your 4/9, 5/26 is all in the top left hand corner

4:57 am

I'd got those, since thinking about Xmas cake ingredients, peel etc. LOL.

4:57 am

Hiya Dianne & Snowyowl.

4:58 am

Hi Jac. How's it going?

4:58 am

Hi Jacula - food figures a lot in this log! It's not doing my hips any good! Dianne the pi4 is the first word in a cocktail

4:58 am

Dianne, it's a sort of conifery smell, if you know what I mean :)

4:59 am

we used to do it to frogs at uni , disgusting, bits of frog ugh, that's nothing compared to what happened to some of the cadavers,no-one would donate their bodies if they knew, we were horrble

5:00 am

Oh no! Now I have visions of Ferrari chopping up frogs to put in Xmas cakes. Yuck!

5:02 am

ugh dianne did you get those pi's in the top left or did I give you the wrong clue?

5:02 am

sorry Dianne I'm giving clues for the wrong score! Frogs in the Christmas cake might stop me eating so much of it !

5:03 am

with all the brandy would be as pit***d as a newt never mind a frog

5:04 am

ferrari - I'm just looking for the 2nd Pi4/9 (not helmet kinds word). I have the other Pi words. I'm so confused now - I don't know what clue applies. I am laughing so hard - I wish I had that cocktail right now!

5:05 am

Dianne, it's what fir trees smell like ...

5:05 am

Right Dianne think I've got the right clue now. Chessy's clue was good. Think - scent of the conifer.

5:05 am

I've been talking about the pi4/9, pi5/26 combo

5:06 am

By the way if you have any cocktails - it's opening time here now!

5:07 am

LOL. I think it must be coffee time.

5:07 am

Either that or a bang on the bonce with a coconut.

5:08 am

flat white with no sugar and a piece of cake please

5:09 am

could someone give me a clue for the op6 word .... I'm going crazy trying to find it

5:09 am

I haven't made the cake yet, Ferrari. Got some plum crumble or plum & custard tart...

5:10 am

ooh decisions decisions

5:11 am

Op6 semi precious green stone

5:11 am

Dear Babble Buddies - I finally got the PI4/9. Just looking for another word with that H blinded me. Thanks - the drinks are on me!

5:11 am

madhatter its a green rock

5:11 am

we have a plum glut at the moment from our trees, plum jam, plum&apple chutney, bottled plums - makes me very plumP!

5:11 am

1. A mottled green rock composed of diabase. 2. Any of various green rocks, such as serpentine. Morning Macadam.

5:11 am

Morning everyone.

5:12 am

morning mac, I've just waved in your direction

5:13 am

Sorry ferrari I must have been looking through the wrong window.(waves back anyway)

5:14 am

thanx all ..... even google is caked up today!!

5:15 am

Chessy. Same here re the plums. We picked about a million pears last night, too.

5:16 am

Morning Macadam - Just got hubby to make the coffee. All those plums sound gorgeous Chessy. I'm really jealous - just going to eat a plain biscuit (boo hoo). Guess I'll be cooking up a storm this afternoon now!

5:16 am

.. and very few wasps around the fruit this year. Usually you have to fight them off in droves ...

5:17 am

True, Chessy. Wasps have been few and far between this year.

5:18 am

pears. my gran used to have a huge Conference pear tree, bless her

5:19 am

daddy longlegs seem to have replaced the wasps .... there are thousands of the horrible things around this year

5:20 am

they will be gone soon, the adults don't eat anything at all so your pears and plums and your bodies are safe

5:21 am

Madhatter - that's true about the craneflys (ddll's). I had to tip about 30 out of the glass shades on my office lights. They've been driving us nuts this year, dive-bombing us and committing suicide in any liquid they could find, including our drinks.

5:26 am

Speaking of autumn fruits, nuts etc., there's a filbert in this grid.

5:27 am

we had loads of dead ones in the light fittings in our lounge .... they are horrible things, even our cats have got bored chasing them this year there have been so many.

5:27 am

and some gelatine

5:38 am

Good morning everyone :)

I feel your pain, Anj. I start the grind on Oct 3. *Sigh*

10:03 am

Good on ya, Anj. (Get a job, you bum!) :-))

10:06 am

No more LA 4/13 for us, Anj. But, I'm excited. :-)

10:07 am

What do you do Jo?

10:07 am

Cheers girls lol. Next Monday. It's just a chat, but it gives me a chance to give them a grilling over a cup of coffee. They pulled my CV off Monster. They are going to get a shock when I turn up lol.

10:08 am

I'm a marketing manager. :-) Anj, what do you do?

10:09 am

Training & Development Consultant, although i'm more a technical trainer than soft skills guru.

10:10 am

Oh-kay.... having to rethink this Liz Phair thing... my goodness, she isn't shy is she?!

10:12 am

Thanks GOODNESS for the 2nd letter stats today! I'd be lost! Halfway break .....

10:16 am

al5/16 Babblers! Is it just me or does the puzzle have a Hawaiian feel to it today?

10:21 am

Jo, it can also be a pain in the butt so i'm on no hurry to do the same old, same old. Deadlines, unrealistic expectations, politics, highs & lows and managers who think you can change lead into gold. lol. Should be fun. :)

10:21 am

Finally done! This was a hard one today!

10:24 am

yay! There were some peskies in there mickie, lol :)

10:32 am

Did someone post second letter stats??? I am positively stuck on my last word, an 'a' arising from the first left hand column. I have monkey typed my fingers to the bone, as well as consulted several word finders. I would appreciate ANY help so I can go get some work done today LOL

10:34 am

Hi Swimmy - think Ship a....! Aharrgh, Jim lad ;)

10:34 am

Jo - I for one don't hate you - who could hate the chicken?? :) I agree, that second letter list is the only thing getting me through this one today!

10:34 am

so an ah4, hmmmmm... (thanks for reposting)

10:35 am

how many total words are there today? I seem to "finish" then have one more.

10:35 am

OH FOR PETE'S SAKE!!!! Right before my eyes. THANX so much!!!

10:36 am

Anj, do remember Robert Newton as Long John Silver? He was SO good...

10:37 am

There are 80 mostly tough, obscure words.

10:37 am

Plus a few obvious ones LOL

10:38 am

Bugzy ... you've gotta love Camilla! ;-)

10:39 am

Thanks swimbo, that is the count I have, just wanted to be sure--less than 30 to go.

10:39 am

sorry, added an i

10:40 am

That's right... Camilla! I couldn't for the life of me remember her name!! And I'm struggling to remember the names of the 2 old guys who always carped about the show.....

10:40 am

Not sure I do Swimmy. Not to say I haven't seen him tho' Mind you, some actors make parts their own. I couldn't see anyone playing Jack Sparrow other than Depp now lol

10:40 am

Hi everyone ^_^ Nice icon, Anj

10:41 am

HI Miyavi!! Waldorf & Stadtler :)

10:41 am

Oooh did someone say Jack Sparrow......:)

10:41 am

Anj ... you beat me to it! ;-) Those guys are great, I MUST cycle them in my Muppets avatars!

10:41 am

Yeah, he look like me ;)

10:42 am

Newton was Disney's LJS, played in the early 50's and classic. Well, I gotta go do some work. TYLVM for the help!

10:42 am

Anj looks like Depp? I'll be RIGHT over!! LOL

10:42 am

Don't tease me Anj.....

10:42 am

You're a pirate?!

10:43 am

Thanks Anj!! Now I can concentrate my brain power on Babble :) Those guys were my favorites, along with Animal and was it Janis, the girl in the band with the long blond hair?

10:43 am

Jo, there were so many good characters in the show it was damn near essential viewing. Dr Teeth & the Electric Mayhem always cracked me up too :D

10:43 am

Cheers swmbo :)

10:44 am

I'm still confused as to why you're suddenly a pirate, Anj...

10:46 am

Down girls...I'm more Sparrow than Depp lol With a few beads and a hat I could do fancy dress . I keep getting told I look like Richard Gere tho'. Not sure i'm comfortable with that...

10:46 am

Gah...speaking of confused...I have some physics. Back in 20

10:47 am

But Anj, it's Sparrow I'm into not Johnny ;)

10:47 am

Miyavi, I've always been a pirate lol. Lots of leather, a swagger in my step, twinkle in my eye, and a budgie on my shoulder *has fit of giggles*

11:08 am

*tick*

11:08 am

*tick*

11:08 am

*tick*

11:08 am

BANG!

11:13 am

Lots of leather?! Sounds more like Dir en Grey than a pirate to me! It'll be corsets next...

11:16 am

Finally made it in here... been sewing all morning!

11:16 am

HI Jera...seeds?? Miyavi, please, I have some dignity lol

11:17 am

For the LIFE of me I can't see the hi4/7 or the hi5/16... Any smart help out there, anyone?

11:17 am

LOL, sewing, not sowing... Girl Scout badges... first meeting is tonight & Sprite has to look spiffy!

11:18 am

Found 'em!

11:18 am

So, a dignified pirate. In leather.

11:18 am

Hi you lot!!!!! :o) Lola it`s Jack`s you`re into then.....ha ha ha ;)

11:19 am

Hi Lotti! Sorry Anj, there's no way I'm going to let that drop now!

11:20 am

Okay what Jack are we discussing, Sparrow, LOST or other?

11:20 am

I have to say i love the thought of all that leather mmmmmmmm ;)

11:21 am

Sparrow, I think...the pirate flavoured one. Lotti, behave!

11:22 am

Miyavi have i stunned them into silence?

11:22 am

Not a big Johnny DEpp fan, but Jack Sparrow had a certain appeal. Really don't like Dr. Jack on LOST, though, & many do...

11:23 am

I think it would take more than that to stun them today, Lotti...it was corsets a couple of minutes ago. My bad.

11:23 am

Apparently Anj doesn't wear corsets.

11:24 am

I noticed!!!! Jera ain`t it a good job we`re all different :)

11:24 am

Hi all. Doesn't look like a nice grid...

11:25 am

Ooooops i didn`t mean i`d noticed he doesn`t wear corsets!!! you got your message in too quick LOL !!

11:25 am

Yup, looks like I got a thing for Jacks! Hi lotti :)

11:25 am

Whoa! I'm off in non-Babble land with Lola :) Lotti! Where ya been girl?? We've missed you... Nothing wrong with leather :)

11:27 am

Miyavi, how was the physics??

11:27 am

Hey Anj :) OH I know there`s nothing wrong with leather!!!!!!!! Out of interest do you wear a denim cut off over your leather jacket?

11:28 am

The sun is shining..the garden's calling....and babble will not let me go. 3 left. le6/30 le7/56 and ne4/4 not the hawaiin one. Please! for the love of god, let me be free. Help?

11:28 am

Hi Lola, how you keeping? I did my maths class today ;)

11:29 am

Physics was...bleurgh. Like normal. Have some scary algebra for later as well! (I don't know how we got from trig to algebra in two days, but that's mr fitz for you) x + y = my brain melting!

11:29 am

gramma, the le6 & le7 are the measure of a good clue ;) The ne4/4 sounds close by as well lol :)

11:30 am

Some of my bulbs arrived yesterday, so we will probably be out in the garden some this week as well. My daughter loves it there are tulips named after her, LOL!

11:30 am

How did it go lotti? Anj- take back what I said about LP, am loving rock me!

11:32 am

Got the N..still baffled by the babble les. ty

11:33 am

Hi Jera :) Must say I'm not a big Johnny Depp fan either but I would run away with Jack Sparrow in an instant ;)

11:34 am

Lotti, never got into that. Prefer a casual leather to a bikers jacket too although I own one. I'm more of a t-shirt and jeans kinda guy. I've spent all my working life in a suit so it's I need casual or would pop. Miyavi, eek, scary letters. Hope he's not letting you near sigma notation yet :/ Lola, she's ok isn't she :) That one's off her latest album too

11:36 am

Gramma, some people will go to any l........s , especially in a swimming pool lol. Knock off the s for the 6 and add a y for the 7. :)

11:37 am

Can anyone help with 3 of the 6 letter words? Can't find el6/21 he6/27 and op6/33. Ta v.much

11:38 am

Jera, hmmm bulbs do light up the garden lol I was always a lupin man, but their root systems are like vacuums :/

11:38 am

Thank you thank you thankyou...I'm free! before I go, can I help anyone?

11:39 am

We are fortunate to have very fertile backyard soil. the pumpkins & squash did marvelously. Just have to be careful as some parts flood & some arts are very shady. Does look very organized, but it takes a lot of planning to make everyone happy!

11:39 am

Gramma, Jera needs some bulbs planting, and Miyavi wants to know why x & y are in her physics homework :) Not what you had in mind?? lol ;)

11:40 am

Jaxh your el is just like le5/12

11:41 am

Anj, consider it done. (it may not be : but, consider it so.)

11:41 am

Gramma, Haven't got that one either!

11:41 am

le is like real.. hint...

11:43 am

JaxH, op is a mottled green rock composed of diabase

11:44 am

op oh fight.. ;p

11:44 am

JaxH, le is if you're on the up and up, you are le***

11:44 am

Yes, hints on the e6's, please??

11:45 am

ah, shush Anj, you're reminding me of the time I did my history homework in my maths book! I didn't even notice that the pages were squares rather than lines! *hangs head*

11:46 am

Sorry had to slope off for a mo......childminding again. My own are out to tea and i`ve got my friends daughter, typical eh! The maths is going ok Lola, i`m not too scared to return anyway *yet*

11:46 am

My favorite hw goof was doing a German essay in French... whoopsie, LOL!

11:47 am

JaxH, he is a slang word for your bottom. sounds german

11:48 am

Jera, one of ypur e's is a first name in tea

11:49 am

Jera, the other ea is why people have jobs, to ____ a living

11:50 am

my bad, the eo is to fly or be carried on air

11:50 am

Jera, if you get the answer , I gave it to you , you didn't really e*** it

11:50 am

I have the 4's, need the e6's...

11:51 am

Jera, eo is relating to the wind

11:52 am

lol Jera, so it's not just me then! (my maths teacher was mighty surprised when he opened my book and found an essay on why the population of england grew in the industrial revolution)

11:52 am

Jera, el is just like le5/12

11:52 am

Eek...flashbook to those nasty workbooks we used to have for maths :( We had to put algebraic stuff in the front, turn the book over so it opened upside down and backwards, and put statictical stuff in there *whines* I want my mummy :'(

11:53 am

Good luck to all.

11:53 am

Jera, el6 take you l5 that Bobby brown was too le5 to quit

11:54 am

Got 'em, thanks gramma & mtnjock!

11:54 am

There, there, Anj, it's all over with now... Some of us have to relive the nightmare FOUR DAYS A WEEK!!!

11:55 am

Now, now Anj, go to your happy place....

11:57 am

Here Anj have some choc covered cinder toffee :) Help yourself everyone!

11:57 am

This is turning into a bad day. Someone else has just phoned me about a another job. I'm free and they want to put me in a cage again :'( *looks forlorn*

11:58 am

Think of the ££££££££££££`s Anj ;)

11:58 am

Chin up Anj, remember ... we all have to ea 4/4 a living. ;-) Darned adult responsibilities!

11:58 am

11:59 am

Damn Anj, there goes our road trip.....! Thanks lotti :) mbwmbahmnmbba?

11:59 am

mtnjock.. I have that asinine song running through my head ever since I found that expletive deleted word!! (le5/12)

12:01 pm

Thanks folks. Actually it's nice to have some interest, but i'm not sure I'm ready to start working again yet. I go with you Babbler, if it feels good, do it. If not, then don't. Lola, road trip! :)

12:01 pm

Miyavi_fan... my German prof was livid... the French & the Germans evidently don't get along... he was already PO'd that I hadn't quite French to take german... I was taking both at one. that was a very weird semester....

12:03 pm

Arrgh ... what am I missing on these G's? I can only see one, a GE 4/5 :-( Any hints to get the ball rolling?

12:03 pm

lol...there is not much funnier than an angry german teacher! My old german teacher weighed about three hundred pounds, and when he got angry he waggled his chins at us!

12:04 pm

Nevermind ... all I had to do was type my frustration, then I found them all. :-(

12:05 pm

ge4/14.

12:05 pm

We all thought he stored extra supplies in his chins. And though I say three hundred pounds, I think about half of that was nose...

12:05 pm

Well, I was lucky on that count... mine was totally hot & smoked a pipe... very sexy... not that that had anything to do with my decision to take his class, ahem, shuffles feet...

12:05 pm

Jo, two more 4/5s and 4/14 that sounds like J... Louise! :)

12:06 pm

Somebody help me with the stupid az4 so I can move on to the expletive H's...

12:07 pm

Jera, az: "The Muslim summons to prayer"

12:07 pm

Jera!!! Hmph. Why does my class get all the bad teachers. I swear, my IT teacher is an Einstein lookalike! Though I doubt Einstein smelt that bad.

12:08 pm

Jera, take a left turn upwards after the az and keep heading west.

12:11 pm

Sorry Anj, trying to cook and keep an eye on the log! So the road trip is still on?!

12:11 pm

There are no M's int his puzzle! Okay, found the variation...

12:11 pm

Miyavi, that's one scary faculty you have there.

12:11 pm

yeah! Done.

12:12 pm

Herr Edison was an excellent teacher... would have taught the Latin class had their been enough interest. Alas, no. So now I'm taking it 20 years later, LOL!

12:12 pm

Ah...they aren't all bad. Just the ones that teach ME! We call my IT teacher 'flossy' because he flossed with his own hair in class! *gagging noises*

12:12 pm

Of course babe. NYC to Jacksonville to Los Angeles to Seattle. Cancel the milk... lol :D

12:13 pm

The he 6/24 is making me break out in hives. Anyone have hints?

12:15 pm

Jo, it's a he6/24 - slang for derriere I think :)

12:15 pm

Jo -- think of you butt (oh, and it's an he6/27)

12:16 pm

Grr . got it, thanks Anj

12:16 pm

12:20 pm

Never mind, I'm late as usual, trying to be helpful, LOL!

12:22 pm

Ah, forgot about the private jet, lol! Champagne babe ;)

12:26 pm

Several crates of Cristal coming right up then lol :) Food break - all this potential employment has made me hungry. Need to do the feed thing. Lo, check your recommendations link, by your icon, top right on Lastfm :)

12:27 pm

1:03 pm

Jera the na is followed by 2 more vowels

1:05 pm

Yeah, lotti that doesn't help much, LOL! Do you have a definition I can google??

1:07 pm

Never mind, got it by process of elimination... thanks for trying!

Anyone have hints for the 2 te6/45s? My brain hurts...

1:08 pm

5 words to go!! Only need 3 r's & the 2 long te6/45's... could use some help with the long ones, please??

1:09 pm

te6/45 sounds like weasel -- each are different spellings of the same thing.

1:09 pm

spikey plant sounds like a drink

1:10 pm

Awesome clue, sproing!! i thought those would be hard, LOL!

1:10 pm

happy to help :)

All done! Thanks for the help. I'm going to let my brain rest and let some new vocabulary soak in.

1:41 pm

Ah, I'm good for now thanks ^_^ My friend is trying to force me to get into panic channel, so if I'm quoting lyrics for the next hour, it's her fault

1:41 pm

1:42 pm

Lola! Are you working me or am I working you??? lol :)

1:42 pm

Thanks...up to my usual clue-stealing tricks ^_^

1:47 pm

How about 6s to get things moving :) el6/21 - A writ of execution against a debtor by which the debtor's property or goods are delivered to the plaintiff until the debtor can settle the debt. Just plonk an E in front of your le5/12 which looks like it means to scarper pdq on foot :)

1:48 pm

What do the codes stand for i.e. el6/21 Thanks.

1:49 pm

CathyD it means: starts with an e 2nd letter is l has 6 letters is worth 21 points in total (6 = 3 x face value)

1:49 pm

1:50 pm

i have 76 words can anyone tell me how many more I need please

1:51 pm

1:52 pm

1:53 pm

80 total words today.

1:55 pm

How about an eo6/18 - old fave with the Babble grid: 'Relating to, caused by, or carried by the wind' it's an eo plus your li5/10 with the last A knocked off :)

1:56 pm

he6/27 - slang for your butt. Sounds like you're saying hello! to Monthy Python's Knights Who Say ...!

2:00 pm

I'm back :)

2:00 pm

Hola lola! Anj was just talking about you.

2:00 pm

le6/30 - size is important and while we're there le7/56 - size is VERY important

2:01 pm

Hi togone :) Was he?! What did he say?

2:03 pm

Actually, he wasn't. Guess I was just thinking about you. How are you today?

2:04 pm

I'm good thanks and you? How are you doing with todays grid?

2:05 pm

Hi - new to this, I am. Bad, bad game. Home sick today and should be sleeping. The game is a bad influence. :-) Just found a bit of slang ge4/14 that I cannot believe would be here.

2:05 pm

op6/33 - green rocks. As Lola said earlier, sounds like an exclamation plus fisticuffs :)

2:06 pm

It's kind of a stinker. I'm down to 22 and groping for words.

2:07 pm

Hi SashaJo - get well soon. I see you've spotted the daily profanity, although it's quite tame today lol :)

2:08 pm

Thanks. What happens if I ever finish one of these things? Will the ceiling open up and balloons and confetti fall through? (And how do I get one of those cool avatars?)

2:08 pm

Yeah torgone, plenty of nonsense words and they tend to hide the ones you should find easily!

2:10 pm

sashajo- that only happens when there are more than 250 words to find. We will clap and cheer tho'! :)

2:11 pm

anyone got the in4/4? I've tried every combo except The One......

2:11 pm

what?! I can't find that bad word! That's so unusual for me! *searches*

2:11 pm

Lol, I wish SashJo. No, but you can expect a 'yay!' from the other Babblers in the log. We've asked for something to happen - I think Dr God (creator) is working on something so we just have to be patient meantime. You get an avatar, flag and handbag if you go Pro which is $10 I think :)

2:12 pm

.......... I am officially an idiot......... I already have it....... (hangs head in shame)

2:12 pm

in4- like the country, but missing a letter

2:12 pm

Miyavi, you were lurking! Clue: sounds like cheddar :)

2:12 pm

Babbler - You mean the South American freshwater dolphin that is ten or twelve feet long, and has a hairy snout?

2:13 pm

LOL! yep, that's the one, Torgone!

2:13 pm

miyavi- it's very tame today, ge4/14. Use the points to help you :)

2:13 pm

Yes, I was lurking...I'm always watching you...*stares* Thanks for the clue though. 'preciate it!

2:14 pm

Miyavi thats my trick ....... lurking!!!!!

2:15 pm

ok, help. For the life of me I can't figure which L I'm missing! TIA la 4 4 la 4 13 le 4 4 le 4 4 le 4 4 le 5 10 le 4 4 le 5 12 le 6 30 le 7 56 li 5 10 la 4 4 li 4 7 lo 4 4 lo 4 4

2:15 pm

Oh please lotti, you can't stay away from the log long enough to lurk!!! :)

2:16 pm

la5/10. I'm looking for it too.........

2:16 pm

Haha...lurking like two short...er...lurking things. sorry, algebra turns my brain to mush ^_^

2:16 pm

Got them all. With only 80 words and the help of the a2z wordfinder (bless its little heart), it didn't take too long today. Can I help anyone?

2:16 pm

i just had an idea, if Dr God is lurking somewhere.. for the Pro Babblers... would it be possible if, on the screen with the word list, you could click on the headings at the tope of the list (i.e., "words", "letters", "points") to order the list by that topic? so, for example, if i wanted to group all the 4-letters, 5-letter, 6-letter, etc. words together, i could click on "letters" and it would order the list by word-length. does that make sense? would anyone else be interested in that?

4:57 pm

z4/16? wha...

4:58 pm

9:17 pm

good grief.... i'm sure i am staring at the words!!! any clues for the te6's??? thanks!

9:20 pm

Both te's begin with a very British and Indian drink. But they refer to a plant with a spiny seedhead that was once used to brush up the nap on woollen cloth. These days, they are more likely to be seen in British homes sprayed gold or silver in dried arrangements for Christmas. Both words have the same 3 letters for their ending (one of which is a 10 tile) but the letters are arranged slightly differently in each word.

9:21 pm

thanks jacula!..... burning the midnight oil tonight? lol

9:27 pm

Something like that. Surfeit of sleep for a while.

9:51 pm

Thanks Jacula. I'm down to 9 words

9:52 pm

which 9 words? Jeez, Ben Elton's got a horrible imagination! Worse than mine when it comes to a horrible murder for an opener, worse than Jack the Ripper's. almost, come to think of it...

9:57 pm

I'm missing, I know, the EL6/21, the LE 6/30 and 7/56, the OP 6/33, the RA 5/28 and the UN 7/28

Down to my last 2 - the op 6/33 and a te 4/4

10:19 pm

Okay , re the op clue. I'd tell you to gogle serpentine rock, but that doesn't seem any good right now. OPHelia is a character from Hamlet. I Think Each character is a separate entity.

He will recover fully. He is not yet fully recoverd, but he will be! Fractured his pelvis in two places, major concussion, lots of abrasions and one large laceration over his right eye extending down through the eyebrow into his eyelid. But he is one very lucky young man and he should be fully recovered by Christmas (too bad our bank account won't be! )

10:32 pm

CadFan, so glad to hear that good news. You are blessed.

10:34 pm

Cadfan - so glad to hear he will be okay, My Dad had a young man all battered up, next to him in hospital one time, he formed a close friendship with him for a while. The young man, Neil, looked far worse than my Dad did then, but Dad's now 'gone' and Neil is the fatyhere of 3 kids and has a happy family.

10:34 pm

Hi, Munner!

10:35 pm
