I was about to say, Darleen, give it up; it's a lost cause, when you just said you had 50 words to go. LOL.

morning jacula, trey was one of the words for the previous puzzle
Hi Babbler! just missed the last board by 2
Hard luck Babbler, Zubie was 1st in today. No tantrums now!
Looks like 418 this time out.

TE7/28
yes, I know. Just haven't had time to redo the ol' avatar.
WOOHOO ne12 -117...!
I love the internet -- now I found a cat and wolf pic -- it's a little crowded but it works!
ME7/44
Thanks BJ, luv. *Goes off into a corner and wilts.*
n11/96 n12/117
HA got the 12 nanner nanner nanner. wiggles butt at the grid.
Ouch just looked at the number of words
Well, doubt I will finish this...I'll start tomorrow. Have a good one y'all!
Too big, tooo, tooooo biiiiig...even for kat kong.
See ya Smeltz :)
Sleep well Smeltz
lol Darleen! what does it begin with?
ne/12 117
ne ... just sorta popped out
'BJ- if I said you were a bastard would you hold it against me?' Lol. Song lyrics, you can't hold it against me, esp., as it is Jamie (Dr_God) who decides what's what. ROFLOL.
yahhoooo!! I've got the 11 and 12 too! :D
LOL Jac!!!!
Mother of Pearl! 400+? Dr_God has it in for me (and you all too)! Thank you again for all the help. My closest finish yet, 1 minute to spare.
Haen't even bothered looking at grid yet. Was too busy talking to BJ.
I'm trying to decide if I should start this one.... I couldn't even get 160 words yesterday....
hey I'm here
Can't be first Babbler! EEEEEEEEEEEEK! 418 words???!!! I might as well give up right now!
harp, yesterday's was a beast of grid. This looks friendlier ......... errrr.......... just about........ (over 100 S words!)
Hey Nava!!! You sure you wanna stay???!!!!!!
No wonder I was getting words so fast! GRR.
but, harpjane, think of the challenge to get as far as you can! I know I won;t finish, I have too much else to do tomorrow/today - but I gonna see how far I get and yes, the 12 just sorta jumps out at ya, doesn't it?
lol zubie! well, I tried. how are you? I've missed you lately. I managed to sleep! : D
oh what the heck....I'll do it. We're fogged in anyway. Plus, we're not going to have power for several hours. This gives me a perfect excuse.
it doesn't seem so special to get an 8 or a 9 when there are so many, does it? :/
That's the attitude everyone...go go go to 418
Of course I'm enjoying this. Who wouldn't? I can here the groans clear across the pond the air is so still and cold....
I got the big one's...I'll get the other 416 tomorrow! GN!
omg! Am I seeing correctly?
humph! and I thought you were a nice guy ! ( :D )
Looking now. First word I see (thoug Dr. Hook is still singing in my head) is what anyone with grey hair might wat to do. a ti4
LOL BJ........ You`re a star :)
I'm good, Babbler. Ankle's less painful but more swollen. Is that good or bad? I've thundered to 89 and I was just patting myself on the back, thinking that I'm finally good at babbling, when I looked at the log and saw the heart-sinking 418!
Take care, Smeltz -- sleep well!
Um.... are you kidding? 418? Good Grief!
and then I see a clubman and some of his mates. The polite way of putting it.
pat yourself on the back zubie - 89 words in 15 mins!! whoa !! :D
ankle more swollen doesn't sound too good, zubie. You doing all the right things?
Well there's a couple of ti4's in there that a gray wouldn't necessarily want anything to do with.... Good thing I'm not a greyhair eh?
Mine was the left bottom corner L Jac.... maybe like Lola i`m obsessed with the doc and the cowboy!!!!
zubie - what's going on with you? I'm a little out of the loop here-- describe the symtomolgy please -- I have a nurse next to me I can ask for advice :)
I wish I were kidding, jen. :/ Babbler - I'm trying to do the right things for the ankle, but I have to walk on it - have to get to work and stuff. So I guess it's not getting its rest. And it isn't getting its ice, either. Just elevation and compression. :s
Zubie: more swollen is not good. You mustn't walk on that ankle ore the tissues will break down, meaning that you will in future be prone to swelling ankle (the horror!). Elevate, elevate, elevate. And talk to your doctor
carry on like that, zubie, and there'll come a point when you can't walk on it at all for a while. (been there!) Try the frozen peas thing. Put them on for no more than 10 mins at a time, then off for 10-15 mins. (or they freeze the veins)
Torgones favourite pair of birds are on today!!! Where is he to greet them!!!!! LOL
Morning Babblers......I'm ready for Jeras girl... Greywoulf love the cat/wolf combo... :)
hey tbear! how you feeling now? I've just had another beechams and I'm deffo off to bed soon. : )
26 min and i have 100 goes to show this puzzle is just out to get people
Thanks, tbear -- just googled it when the board flipped :) How have you been?
Hi Tbear :)
Well, got the i's out of the way..... heh.
Babs - please do forget alll that 'carrying on' stuff. my friend in New York did that 12 months ago and she is still in pain.
Some really lovely cat icons today...thought of putting my scary one up...but young babble offspring might not appreciate it...
Ok, mab and Babbler. It's not that I haven't been to the doctor - I have! It's just that I can't take time off from work. *frown*
Zubie, proud of you for remembering all the elements to r.i.c.e. ... now a little implementation- and you'd be set.
Hi tbear!!
zubie, GW just said he's sitting right next to a nurse, so he can ask advice for you. Why don't you ask what else you can do?
May havde lost it here. Who is the one with the broken ankle? My advice was for that person. And, BJ. stop boasting! LOL.
Okay I need some help to change my icon - what do I do if I want to use a picture on my computer?
Well, jen, you explained rice very well. It would be a disgrace if I forgot! Did someone mention that there is a 12 letter word hidden in the grid?
GreyWoulf...have a stinker of a cold/flu?? Babbler..just woke and am lemsipping as we speak...hi lotti!! Felling more cheerful than did last night tho...So much to do and laid up in bed...pathetic
Doll - scroll down on the change icon stuff to 'browse'.
Jac, it's Zubie. She tripped against the sofa recently, (is that right, zube? )
Jacs, only 1 feeble little I word. Describes your current state quite nicely I think.....
I have been there, Zubie, and within the past couple of years. I now have ankle and knee problems, however I keep them at bay by doing yoga. Nevertheless, I did do permanent damage. I do understand, however, that sometimes one has no choice and can only do the best one can do.
zubie - is it actually broken or just badly twisted?
I was hit by a (slow) car when I was a teenager and badly twisted my ankle. I hopped around on the other one till I did that one in too. And then I was laid up for I don't know how long. It was awful. And my ankles never really fully recovered.
Greetings everyone -- this is Charlie, our beloved pet who disappeared 18 months ago.
and my parents WERE married at the time I was whelped. And to each other even. Imagine that. Unfortunately.
babbler- sofas are v. dangerous things! I once broke a toe on one whilst chasing after my son (who was then about 12) when he cheeked me over doing his homework. He cleared the sofa during the chase and I did not.:-( Still amuses him now.
GW - I don't think it's broken. I can walk on it and the doctor didn't think that an x ray was necessary. It's just a bad twist, the doctor thought. I was told to rice it - but not being able to take off from work is a problem!
That poor sofa.........
Hi Cyber :)
OK, got my kitty pic, everybody refresh. This is Missy in her favorite position.
Jacula! I second that! Beware the sofa! It's always lying in wait! :D That's what caused my sprain. Ugh.
420 words!
awwwwww, Darleen! adorable :)
LOL, Jack, you know I didn't mean it. What are the real words to that song??
no you haven't, dlfox !
zubie - when I was a young child, the doctor didn't think he needed to xray my arm when I fell off the monkey bars at school -- after a week of agony anytime something touched my arm - my mother made him do so and that's when found the hairline fracture...
yeah, she's a peach. spoiled rotten, too.
420 Words (ten letters or less)
I couldn't type that fast! I have no words yet... Its just that I see there are 420 to pick from
cybernan....don't do that....felt heart strings plucked...always had cats, often dreamt of losing them..can't imagine. tell yourself he was SO adorable someone else needed him.. Last cat I 'lost' was 20 and my best friend ever in the whole wide world.....SEE what you've done??
Oh dear. I'm getting scared now. I don't want to do my ankles in and walking around with more weight on the left (not sprained) one is beginning to cause that one to hurt. Do you think I should demand an xray?
lol dlfox. ooops, my mistake! 418 words. Brandyjack has posted the stats here in the log, if you can scroll down.... :)
also zubie - talk to your doctor about the possibility of getting an walking aircast to help you get around, that should help with you having to walk on it at work
FOUR HUNDRED WORDS ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
you should demand the rest of the week off work, Zube! and an x-ray may not be a bad idea. It's your ankle, not your doctor's.........
zubie - the nurse says YES!
Bellamy Brothers If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me) Written by - David Bellamy
oooh, the noodly appendaged one is back!
I'm not even going to attempt keying in words to this grid, despite having found about 30 without trying. Will key in words later, after a more considered sweep. Not much point in keying in words when tired, over emotional and pissed (as in had too much to drink).
Ok, GW. I'll talk to the doctor about an xray and cast. Not sure about being given a week off, Babbler.
sigh. Nite all. Brain freeze.
who said about anything about being GIVEN a week off. TAKE the week off. Dr Babbler xxx
Jacula...don't tell me you've been up ALL night.....Babble Stop Out YOU
LOL, Babbler! :o I see. So that's what you mean, eh? Hmmm...I'm considering the possibilities. Night, Darleen!
three minutes in and I STILL don't have the 12 letter word
: D.... Zube, what are you waiting for? Till you can't walk at all?? That's what I mean, luvvie.
Bye Darleen... I'm gone too, this slow connection is driving me crazy...
and zubie - Kirsten is also a massage therapist and suggest that you try alternating warm compresses with the cold -- the warm ones help open the blood vessels to help drain away fluid to assist in the reduction of the swelling -- just watch yourself because you can lose sensitivity to the temp very quickly try starting with 5 mins of heat, wait about 15 mins then 5 cold, 15 min break and then repeat
oh, nite nite Darleen! see you tomorrow :)
sorry about the long posts, folks It's only because I care about my fellow Babbler's health :)
See ya Schroeder...Darleen :)
Lol, Brandjack! Poor sofa? :P
Sleep well, Darleen
Tuva....bout time you changed that horrible noodle thing...anyway cats'll eat that today...FIND a sweet cat...go on...pretty please...purr purrr rub nudge
no need to apologise, GW - I'm memorising it for future reference! : )
Tbear.... How DARE you make fun of my God!
If she didn't clear it, must have crashed right into the thing. Either booted the poor thing a good one, or just plain crashed.........
Babbler, strangely enough I have been up alll night - it's 2 years to the day since my Dad died. Check yesterday's log late for how and why etc.
Sniff. Looks like a drooling fly.....
it is pretty weird looking, Tuva. : / it looks like a flying uterus......... lol!
brb all, time to rub the pregnant nurses back so she can sleep
Babbler.... It is the Flying Spaghetti Monster. The One True God!
Jac, I know hun, I read that and it made me really sad for you. I don't know how to give a proper hug in the written word, but here's another and I hope it reaches you <<<<<<<<< big fat loving hug >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Lol, Brandyjack! So the pity's for the sofa and not the legs or ankles, eh? :P
Tuva....well at least throw the two meatballs away..they've got 2 have gone off by now....
The Flying Spaghetti Monster does not "Go Bad" no matter how long He has been out... May you be touched by His Noodly Appendage and see the light of truth...
Jacula....(((((((((GIANT tbear HUG))))))))) and I'm good at those...you stay up as long as you like honey
*sees tbear's hug and tries again* (((((((((((( BIG FAT LOVING HUGS )))))))))))))))))
(((Jacula)))
Got it Babs - but what the hell does a flying uterus look like? Maks note to remember what it looks like should she ever choose the hysterectomy she's been offered in recent years, but is not succumbing to yet.
Tuva....yuk....touched by his noodly appendage....yuk yuk yuk....all this and before breakfast.....
wow. found the ne 11 and ne12
Tbear.... DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU MOCK!!! Do a search on the Flying Spaghetti Monster and all will be clear to you.
well Jac, obviously it looks like Tuva's icon ! roflol !! : D
tbear - a noodly appendage does not sound apppealing. LOL. Who was that? Was it a clue or a statement??
dlfox! So did I! Woo and/or HOO!
Jac, it's something to do with the tentacles coming off the flying uterus.......... eeeeuuuuwwww *shudders*
Tuva, Tbear and I are only joshing, you know that, don't you? : )
You know that, I know that, they know that... But the Flying Spaghetti Monster does not have a good sense of humor.
Finally figured what I was doing wrong here is Milo the Wonder Cat
oh dear, not perfect then, is he/she ?
Truly perfect. Just has a tendancy to get grumpy.
Tuva have you bought a t shirt yet then????
I have three t-shirts, thank you.
off to bed have fun babbling
I have found ONE HUNDRED WORDS... I should feel good about that... but somehow I don't
ok, Kitty Cats, taking the grid to bed now........ miaow-ver and out : D Jac, sending you lots of love, hun xxx
103 and it's sack time.
Zubie, get well soon, (and do as you're told!!) LOL!! :D
Later Babbler!!
Just saw the cold-hot alternate treatment, GW. I'll try it. Tell Karen, thanks from me. 'Night, BrandyJack!
If I can be my Kira, who's eyes you all see in my icon, later, then I can be both understood and misunderstood, should I choose to post in here.:-)
Aaand... I'm back! I've only got about 15 more mins and then I have to go to sleep myself -- believe it or not tomorrow should be a busy day for me --- everybody always waits until the last minute to got out and buy their new glasses for the holiday meal :(
I will, Babbler! Seeya later! :D [Am I ahead of you? :P 164!]
Tuva.... ..... ..... .....I am bowing my head, closing my eyes, placing my hands over my ear and in a monotone voice singing tralalalalalalalala until i am hoarse but I still don't fancy buxom wenches?? Have I been indoctrinated and finally seen the light.....
of course you are, zube ............ trailing at a pathetic 35........... :)
Tbear, Your ignornace will not save you.
So long, Babbler!
The promise of a beer volcano and a stripper factory are very real!
See you later BJ :) Chin up Jacs ((((XxxxX)))) Shower time, then i`ll wake the kids.....See you all later :)
have a great day, lotti!
Thanks GW, you too :) Bye.
Well, I haven't got the 12 letter word, whatever it is. I refuse to look at the stats list so early!
So long all! ooh ooh! I want to say it first: I tort I taw a puddy tat?! I did! I did! I tee a puddy tat! : D
Tuva...gr8 site...i could be encouraged
Aww Babbler! The puddy cat!
LOL, Babbler (*hug*)
We will leave stra nge cats dead Dads, and lovers who can't see to COMMIT aside then. I'm orf to bed now. Jolly gees for me on that.
See, Tbear... You now have been touched by His Noodly Appendage! R'amen!
Jacula....do what i do.grab a hot water bottle,a cat and a good book...take care honey, 'see' you later.. Love yr cat...x
Don't think I'll get close to finishing this one -- have houseguests arriving at noon tomorrow -- who was it that wished for a mega grid and lots of s's?
Jacula -- rest well -- (*hug*)
Tuva...still would rather kiss (read, pay homage to) Oscar Wilde than that Noodly thingy....does he grow on you...?
Love you still Dad. Didn't mean to put you in a list like that:-( Nor you either P. But you know where I'm coming from.
Give it time. Give Him time. (plus, ya got pirates!)
like fungus, tbear :D
Jacs.....while people are still remembered,in whatever form, they're still here.....don't be sad honey...be happy..for your Babble friends
cybernan....that'll be a man then...LOL
Tuva....ur scaring me now....
ok, I found 154 words... I surrender to the night... sleep beckons like a welcoming stranger.
Tbear - Most of the time I do remember the happy things. It's jsut on this day I see him dead, al knarled up how the home staff (who knew no better left him).
tbear... if you are bathed by the love of His Noodly Appendage, you need not know fear.
Good night to all who are leaving us.
Jacula....shall we talk on MSN..is your addy posted on your profile?
From all parts of the globe those staff were, and they didm, most gently, the best for him. That's not something I doubt. Thos e of you you who know me or ave read before know exactly what I doubt. On that note, I will sign off and try to sleep.
just found the ne 11 !
TUVA...before you go refresh...!! LOL
hail to all from Foggy Vancouver.....LOL
Jacula.....'see' you later,hun
Hi Blaze -- the view from your window?
Hey Blaze! It's a monster today!!!
Tbear - my addy is not posted on here. However, should you register on Babnon, you can message me through there and I will give you my MSN addy.
Will do jacula.....sleep well x
oops! -- should always try plurals on this one -- especially when it gives me the 12!
Hi Blaze! You have snow? Lucky you!
cybernan...would love the satisfaction of a 12...any clues???
No snow just FOG No the veiw from my window is almost nil and very dismal... My jaw is dropped off 400 + words are they crazy...??
Wow...my first word is the ne11...what a start..
well...the good news is that every time you find a word you add an s ore es and get another word
Blaze - they aren't, but WE most likely are! ;D
helenary...the ne12 MUST be done...
This is my kind of puzzle. 15 minutes into it and already beat my score for yesterday. Whew!
help!!!! 12!!!!!
torgone's favorite drink is in here.... any word from him lately ???
Saitisfactation guaranteed once you realise it only ne______s a little brain power
Aww no snow? Lol, Blaze. I read that 'your jaw dropped off because of the cold'! 418 words. I'm on 205 now. Slightly angry at the score I've got. I still have to check the list and am wondering why the grid couldn't have been 205 so that I could be proud!
zubie always be proud of every thing that you do.... even the really bad stuff is a learning experience... Besides I only have under 20
tbrar..fantastic..got it thanx to YOU
thank you for the 12
I will remember that, Blaze. Thanks. How are you? Apart from cold, that is.
n'il y a du probleme helenary...mon plaiseur or something like that..
what a doll!!
Zubie .... I am busy getting ready to do a workshop on Friday about simply celebrating when you have to deal with visitations (custody matters) and having a reactive child.....
helenary....must have been my magic wand....lol
That sounds like a lot of thought but ultimately rewarding thing to do, Blaze. It must be tough.
sweetie pie
Zubie.... I have been living it for awhile and am part of a support group for families raising child relatives.... the forgotten ones most often....
Ok. I'm going to the lists. 212 and words have stopped jumping out at me. :/
I see, Blaze. (((Blaze)))
Yay! I finally have another gray box on my stat grid!!
zubie use the fish ladder and let some swim over to me please....
Fish ladder? Hmm. What's that, Blaze?
What on earth..? 115 S words?!
zubie.... I forgot...where are you located ??? Fish ladders are used here in BC Canada for fish to return to there spawning ground. google "hell's Gate, BC"
Blaze....don't worry,I only have 6,but have had two cups of tea,a chat with my daughter, who just got up and looking forward to Frosties....all's well(ish) in the world, heh?
And with that minor victory tucked safely under my cap I bid one and all a fond adieu... I have to open the store in about 6 hours, otherwise I would stay longer :) (*hugs to one and all*)
That 12 letter word looks funny in the word list. Like it shouldn't really be there, it's so long!
hello and good nite grey wolf
Middle East, Blaze. Oh - I'd not heard of fish nets before.
I'm going to stop looking at the stats. They are too depressing. "You have 288 words left to find...." Indeed.
harpjane your icon has given me a giggle ....thank you
tbear - from a Taoist perspective, the world is never wrong, it is our attachment to certain aspect thereof, that may cause the appearance of wrong :)
Zubie better still Google Salmon in BC CAnada lots of info
Blaze, glad you like it. I don't usually turn the icons on. Dial up. But when I do, I aim to please!
Good idea, harpjane. I think I'll do likewise. Ok, I'll google it, Blaze.
And one last (*HUG*) to all as I leave for real this time :) TTFN!
Bye, GW!
217 and that's enough for tonight -- don't know if I'll get back again tomorrow. Good luck everyone!
g/nite cybernan....send some wind this way....to clear out the fog....Thanks
'Night, cybernan.
can anyone help with the 8s
Wow, I sure chose the wrong night to get a late start! Glad I have the day off tomorrow.......
Hey there griff....
Hey blaze...
Hi Griff! It's a horrible one today.
Aw zubie, it's all in your attitude... No you're right. It's horrible!
Hi griffums... have I spealt your'e name wrong....again. ne/11 ne/12
The biggies are ne's huh? Off to hunt (I'm down to 400 words left to go!) woo hoo!
Mmmmmmm, those were nice big crunchy ne's! Thanks!
griffums- thanks for being the only one to reply
Everybody else is probably too depressed to talk (give me 5 more min and I'll be there too...) ;D
Well, Griff, my attitude is engrossed in my ankle! :D How are you?
wow i'm actually talking to somenone on the internet eeeeeeeeeee!
Oh are you still hurting? That's been like 3 days or so hasn't it? Yow. I think a sprain hurts worse than a break sometimes. I'm fine, just wondering why in the world I came in here...and stayed
I'm here i'm not depressed...but my nose is depressed against his darn scree. I think I need tea... can't see the obivious and the letters I need are not in the grid...LOL
No speed, you're not talking to a person. Just a disembodied paw.
Well, I think four days, Griff! GW and Babbler left me with lots of advice about what to do! :)
griffums what's the difference
Hi Blaze, no Torgone today yet :( Hi everyone, SF Sam....is this a go before school?
Yeah, I'm not gonna be very chatty here either, blaze - have to get up early despite the day off, so figure I'd better knock off at least 150 before I go to bed. If you are able to kite a few extra letters send some my way.
I asked Zubie to send some via the fish ladder.....which sent her off to google what that is and what it means....Sorry Zub
llotijw - yeah! how did you know
this is a very tricky...eye deceiving grid...
Don't be sorry, Blaze! I learnt a new thing today! :D
I learned a new thing too - that zubie is a girl? (well, how was I supposed to know?)
Sam, I like a go before i take my children to school!! My daughter is a bit older than you (10) and sometimes she likes a go too :)
gotta go need to sleep ....
Night blaze -
See ya later Blaze :)
Lol. Griff! I'm a she.
opps nearly late for school bye everyone
bye sam
See ya Sam :)
My girls safely tucked off to school...it's 15 minutes of absolute pandemonium.....THEN peace glorious peace...aahhhhhhhh to babble or not to babble... Griff...waz going on, hop to it girl... Bye Blaze and speedfreak Sam
I`ll be taking mine in approx 20 mins :)
There is a choice not to babble? <ooooh, aaaaah> I'm REALLY tired - very long day that started about 19 hours ago so not sure I will make my 200 goal (oh wait, I think it was a 150 goal - anyway I'm not thinking I'm going to make it) - my bed is talking to me <See how comfy I am?>
Griff have u got the ne11 and 12 yet?
LOL Griff, mine does that!!! Is it now saying, "climb in and get comfy" ???
Yes, I have them....
Just realised that's a cat paw doing what comes naturally......thought it was yr foot in a bandage!!!
Well, I'm pretending it's a dog's paw so please don't spoil my delusion...
It *is* saying that, lotti! I am SO glad I'm not the only one who hears it anymore!
That's a cats paw if ever i saw 6 million....and anyway todays a cat day for Jera little girl so look like you've been over ruled....Soz
LA LA LA LA LA LA I CANT HEAR YOU
Lotti...been laid up in mine on and off for 3 days with cold/flu? Stops feeling so comfy when you live in it..
Mine always seems to say it when i`ve just shaken the duvet!!!! The bed looks so inviting then....(thats when i`ve only just got up) lol
Griff....Tuva would approve of your singing..
:(((((( Sorry tbear. Best thing you can do at that point is put some nice clean linens on - at least it feels different and not so sick. :(((
Awww Tbear, hope you`re better soon :)
Honestly, I am doing just as well at this by not even looking at the grid, just typing words.
(((tbear)))
Thanks girls....can soak up all the sympathy..living with teenagers means you get that look....Oh no,you're not ill are you? They are so mean and I am so lovely to them when they're poorly..
A pox on them. Especially if it's YOUR pox.
Well i`d better prepare for ths school run!!! See you all later :)
bye lotti
Yeah...revenge is a dessert best served COLD....hahahahaha
Like the si 6 and 7....afternoon sleep in a warm clim...had that (word, not the si___) on Scrabble last night..
Have just barely gotten to 100 and I'm slowing down, waaaah.
Going to sleep I am, but wanted to see if my icon was presentable. Hello and toodle-oo all.
Griff 62 and enjoying it...slowly..with tissues and VVR
hi/bye mab
Yes, works well enough. Some grid, huh?

Has Sprite been around yet ??
how many worsd total?
418 now breathe....
Morning All
hello....
Hi Blaze, i'm sitting wondering wether i should even try and attempt this grid!!
ah bubbles if nothing else it is great practice... there are lots of easy and good words... remember to add s or es to almost every word... go for it...
any clues for ne11?
119 accomplished to the word list.... is there anyone out there ???
from tbear...Saitisfactation guaranteed once you realise it only ne______s a little brain power
or ne 12?
to require or compel....
nevermind...ne 12, you just add an S I got it...thanx for the help Blaze
ok blaze, thanks....... here goes
YO!Whats U!!!!!!!!!
Well I am off to the sleep see you tomorrow.... get some sleep....LOL
night blaze
morning all.... gosh - this is a monster today! just popped in here before going to work.... !
morning cathy, i thought that too but blaze talked me into having a go.
bubbles... well... i'm having a go... but seriously need to get to work super-early today so will have to get back to it later on... it's good though.. everywhere you look, there's a word!
how many words are their total?
Just 418
Chat log is awfully quiet - are we all typing furiously?
think so haz
It's quite exhilerating finding so many words so quickly but it'll be a different matter when we're struggling for the last few!
more than likely
Good morning everyone, 418 words??????? Oh my goodness, how am I going to get any work done today?
You either work or babble - there's not enough time for both! Speaking of which, I must get started on the ironing. 148 words done - too many to go..
Well, I'll be back later. Have a good one, all.
193 without using BJ's list... my best record so far *sweat* i must! i must! I must i must persist! :P
Ok, I'm back. Had to leave in a hurry. Off to find the rest of the words, if I can! Hi mica! Hi again everyone.
hi zubie hope ur ankle gets better soon
Thanks, mica! I see that you've been studying the logs! :D
heh no zubie, i was lurking but then i didnt chat much coz my friend was over studying and i didnt want to distract her with babble coz she babbles too! :P but her next exam is earlier than mine
good morning everyone
Ah, I see, mica! :D
Hi Poo's Mom!
how am i supposed to get any baking done with this many words to find??
ohh what are you baking?
mincemeat cookies :)
hi again everyone...coming up for air... it's a doggone shame to say you've got 250 and not be the least happy about it... what a mother grid today!
hi jen...barely getting under way here
It's a marathon rather than a sprint.
242 and terribly depressed!
ahh...it's great to be with so many in misery..zubie-elevating?
Yes jen, elevating but perhaps not high enough! [Makes you feel good to not be the only one depressed about this grid, doesn't it? :D]
so when's the appt. with the Doctor, Zubie? **hint - hint**
Yowl!!!!!!!
Lol jen - ehem, this evening? Eva - don't yowl. It's a shock, I know. 418! But I'm consoling myself by remembering the Evil 483 grid!
Hiss!
I explained babble to my husband the other evening. He understood the rules but not WHY. I'm not telling him about the size of the grid today, otherwise the men in whilte coats will be summoned to carry me off.
Lol Eva! You can't hiss either! Hi Haz! I want to quit right now, but then I think. Hey, I've got this far!
Exactly - keep going as long as it's fun and then when it turns to agony, think of the fireworks and triumphant music when you finish....oh, that's right, there isn't any! Why are we doing this again?
I've no idea, Haz!
Mrrrrrp! Zubie - the elevation part is perhaps the most important in terms of preventing further problems. Does anyone have a great recipe for swseet potatoes? I'm bored with mine....pecans, brown sugar, etc. I'd like one that isn't sickeningly sweet ( I now that for some of you nothing sweet could be sickening). Thinking of just baking them and being done with it. Or something with apples, onions and garlic.
Mrrrrp is acceptable, Eva! ;D
It has to be because that's my cat's name (Merp). And he is more than acceptable...superlative even.
eva how about cranberries and orange juice w/ a bit of brown sugar?
That sounds good. Do you have a recipe, or just play with those ingredients?
Oh my. What the ???? This is cruel. Any other day, I'd be so happy to have a grid this size. 418 words? For an obsessive, compulsive person this good be my undoing.
i'll see if i can't find it... tried it for the first time last year and it was a hit
grrrrraaaaammmmmaaaaaa....you can do it!
Eva: try putting them in a baking tray, drizzle generously with olive oil, crushed garlic a couple of sprigs of rosemary, some tomatoes still on the vine, cover with tin foil and put in a medium oven for about 40 mins. take off the foil after about 30 mins and put back in the oven for the last 10-15 mins to brown.
Announcement: I am now proceeding to the ME's. If I don't resurface, know that they have swallowed ME up!
good luck zubie! lol
hope they don't make a me 4/5 if they swallow you.
ty for the encouragement, jenwould. It's not so much, can I do it; as it's, at what cost?
wow bobsta! Sounds incredible. Though maynot be traditional enough for this meal- people seem to have VERY strongly held opinions about what a Thanksgivingmeal must contain....but I'll definitely make those for myself. I often cut potatoes of different kinds up, toss with olive oil, plenty of garlic, salt, pepper, onions, and bake at high heat untile crispy on the outside. Utterly addictive.
gramma~ I have 250 and have only been at this for just over FIVE hours... so really, what's another 5-6 hours to complete it? I have no life and am delirious with words and letters... someone please help me and haz~ it is very hard to type with the white jacket holding your arms to your sides :-)...whew... need coffee
argh 200 words more think i better turn to the list for help
i did forget to mention the obligatory sea salt and cracked black pepper. I tried it once and loved it. didn't read down furhter enough to realise it was for a thanksgiving dinner but hey, give it to 'em anyway!!! ;o)
jenwould-5 hours?! Someone please go and pry her fingers off the board. Time for a babble intervention. I think we need a roving squad to rap on peoples' doors, check whether they are still breathing or just typing in rigor mortis, check whether they've gotten out of their nightgowns (pjs) any timein the recent past, and apply CPR.
'ello'ello'ello...what do we 'ave 'ere then? Was sleeping off my 'flu (cos have decided this has to be 'flu) and the postman woke me up so onward and upward wordward..116....55 million to go....
hiya tbear, feeling any bettter?
LOL Eva - looking down at my bathrobe and socks....lock the door, Poo!
Thank god for the cat. His threats to bite the hand moving the mouse are often the only limit to my babbling. And biting hours is getting close.
Tbear - I laughed earlier when I read your post about your family's attitude to your illness. It's as if they can't deal with things not being as usual. My husband and I had 'flu over the millennium period and all my daughters could do was moan that it didn't make for a very exciting time to talk about.
eva~ it's not that bad... I'm at work right now, so that makes it ok right? I'm showered, dressed etc. and listening to Johnny Mathis Christmas!
No,infact worse than ever.....damn thing....got the works and it's starting to p4 me off. Hey where's yr cta Bobsta....keep up,today is pussycat day, feline fun, moggy mioawkicks....for jeras lil' one (who asked especially)....Worn out now....aawwwwww
Good morning! What a biggie today! Don't know if I will get to finish. Work interferes with Babble! Plus it is baking day. I'm the one cooking tomorrow!
Well, well, well, what a strange ME word! Right out of the sea, it is!
be back in a min, Can we have dog day tomorrow?
Hi, everybody!!!! Movieman back again!!! Is Dr. God serious? 418 words...including a 12...? How sadistic can the man get?
Your cat sounds cute, Eva.
ok tbear done it (refresh)
Love it Bobsta....good man .....Hi Haz..it's true isn't it,if it affects their lives adversely, they have no hearts...luckily they too have to pass twenty and join in with the rest of the human race...HA HA HA HA Just you wait til my two give birth, revenge of the Mother HA
Yayy! I have returned from the ME's safely! One dragged me into the sea, too! On to the NO's!
Hello people, 418 today? That's just evil
In honour of "Cat Day" today, I thought I'd go with Snowball II (coughing up a hairball!!!) lol...
Yoink...that's just what I thought... Why doesn't Dr. God just give us a grid with 500+ words in it and be done with it?! (Ooops...shouldn't give him too many ideas...)
There will be some upper limit to how many words can possibly be in a grid, but I doubt we've got even close yet
Greetings and salutations, fellow Babblonians... good thing I have no big plans for today...
Hi all! I think this might be my fault - sorry! Yesterday I said that I had loads of spare time today, so I was hoping for a large grid. OMG, what have I done?
That's it! We'll blame Dachef!! *looks sternly at Dachef for causing this huge honkin' grid*
Ok, everybody st5 Dachef! ;-)
unless he a6/18
<goes to sit in the corner facing the wall>
Dachef - and U can stay there until you've REALLY thought about what U've done!!!
guys now we know this might ne11/96 a public flogging
[Glares at Dachef] I'm sorry that this is the way I have to meet you for the first time! I hope you're happy with this grid! :D Those of us who have reached the 250's still are abjectly depressed! Hi Dachef!
IT might ne11,I meant IT might
of course, we're no sa6/18 . . .
tbear - thanx 4 that clue...I would never have got the 11 & 12 otherwise...
fank yoo tbear ;o)
tbear, you can ne11 me anytime darling.
I saw where Bobsta suggested dog day for tomorrow, but I would like to humbly suggest turkeys or something Thanksgiving-y. Is that too ethnocentic? What, do we vote or something?
Goodness! What are you lot like?? *pats dachef on the back and leads him out of the corner* Play nicely now everyone!
morning all, just came in to copy the grid...omg...dachef say it aint so and this aint your fault???? but thanks so much, never gotten an 11 an 12 off the bat....back in a bit....
I have been playing for over a year this has to be the largest i have ever seen...we are addicted to even start!!!
hey lola sorry didn't know it was thanksgiving tomorrow. Turkey day sounds good Jera :o)
Oooooo Dachef your dirty little secret is OUT....my place or yours?
Speedfreak, you're right there. I saw the total and told myself I wouldn't even start. Then I did. I have no control
Peer pressure was too much for me. Here's pussy.
I wasn't going to start either but I had to get my 'Fix'!!!
Hi Lola! Tbear - its only a dirty little secret if you dont have a wash afterwards. LOL ;)
Hi Lola :)
why is that, we say no, and then just have to jump right in????
Or before?? or even during?? lol
Baggo: cos' we need the fix maaan!!!!
baggo - 'cos we're all a bunch of masochists!!!
aint that the truth....
Jera i thought all these kitties were for your lil 'un,if that's case, where's yrs?
movieman i think you hit it right on the head...well i'm off to take me mom to the airport...ugh...it's gonna be nasty....back in a bit...
I know it's an American thing, that's why I voiced the suggestion so carefully.
Hi guys :) Hello, my name is lola and I am a compulsive, obsessive babble addict...
Lola, believe me I understand.
Admitting it is the 1st step towards recovery.
there will be a new site soon, 'babbleaddicts.com' they'll probably have something like boggle and no chat log to wean you off!!!
lola...U have my every sympathy...
say it once and say it loud,'I'm a babble addict, and i'm proud'
there is no known cure, but scientists are currently working on removing the synapses that connect your brain with the rest of the Babbleverse. So far, clinical trials have been carried out in secret, mostly on the people in this chat log, and the results, as everyone can see, have been pretty disastrous. If all else fails, theres always Scrabble.
tbear... my icon is Jacob Brent who is my favorite (& Sprites) portrayer of Magical Mr. Mistoffelees in the musical CATS... I have to be weird...
bobsta, lol, I'm having t-shirts made as we speak :)
I'M A BABBLE ADDICT AND I'M PROUD.
bobsta...say it once, no say it twice, I'm a Babble addict, and it feels ...NICE!!!!!
Lola... If I'm better on Sat...I'll chain you to the coach bar and you can go cold Thanksgiving turkey for a bit...ok love? And can u answer my question to Jera, she's ignoring me!!
We should create a T-shirt!!
i can just see it in january, a dark and secluded pub in bristol, a complete corner taken up with a bunch of people sitting round a laptop, with 'Babble addict' t-shirts on chanting, baaaabble, baaaabble!!
tbear, I have gone without babble for the weekend once before, but there has to be a real good reason ;)
Am not, tbear... if you're referring to your question about my icon, that is...
Jera now I look a little closer thru the haze of Vicks Vapour Rub, I understand ys pic...lol
bobsta, lol!!!
302 - I ought to retire! I've been here for ages!
Tiny pics aren't good for detail... that's why it never hurts to ask what is your icon??
Bobsta - good idea, but have you ever heard the maxim that you should never meet your heroes lest you be disppointed?
and the laptop won't connect cos there's no wi-fi connection!
zubie!! That's how many I have left to find... feel better??
A little, Jera! :) How are you?
Bobsta.....I could bring my laptop.....Can you imagine, 'Who's round is it......y4 s ' I think not !! But t-shirts sound fun,big baggy ones to cover bellies of people who have been in bed eating for too long!!
Right, time to collect small person. See you all later :)
I'm actually okay... without ranking numbers, I'm not driven to be competitive... Babble just for fun, so it's all good...
DaChef: true but hey, a p**s up is a p**s up!!! tbear: i'm gonna bring mine anyway, you'll have to have a word with the guvner of the pub to get him to put in a wireless router!!
Lola...WE WON'T ASK WHAT STOPPED YOU BABBLING FOR A WHOLE WEEKEND,JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO,WILL WE FOLKS.....WONDER WHERE ANJY BABY IS?
tbear, who delivers your food? I need that person. Once I start the grid, it's almost impossible to quit. I was even thinking of getting a catheter.
no no, no questions asked (hee hee) ttfn Lola
been typing like crazy for two and a half hours, and just got my first grey box. Trouble is, it was the i. Sob.
418 words?!?!?! 418stinkin' words?!?! And a 12 letter word???? Argh!!! So much for me cleaning the house today! Morning everyone! :)
Hey, I have TWO grey boxes... the I and the E!!
Me too, Jera
GRAMMA....phoned my mate Chris and got him to pick me up shopping....was great except when i opened the door,he said 'Don't fancy you now!!' It hurt, really hurt, who couldn't fancy me with a streaming cold,in old pyjamas and dirty, sweaty hair.....hahahaha My cats love me!!
Sometimes when you're sick it's comforting to wallow in your own filth and diease.
Bobsta there is a connection at the pub....used to be for the internet music thing, and wireless just seems to pick up on all connections aroung....WE'RE WORKING ON GAS!! Can't wait...will be great fun.
Morning, Jen, how are you today? Yay, great excuse for no housework!!
Gramma...too right,it's part of the recovery process, knowing that when you shower and dress and open some windows, you will be a princess again..SHUDDER the thought...too many teenage princesses in this house..
wooooooo hoooooooooo can't wait for that, should be quite a few by all accounts and from what bubbles has told me. i've put up my email address on my profile so you'll have to mail me with the details of where it is and everything. I'm really looking forward to it. Babbler wants to sort out a meet-up for London too.
Nice big puzzle today! :) Morning everyong!
I'm sitting here trying to leave for work and pouring over the stats and my mind is just reeling how they manage 35 words from the c in second row and I found 1 UGH!!
Good morning everyone
Mornin' Doll!
Help if I coulg type.... Once again good morn everyONE! lol
Mornin' toesockmonkey. It's a beaut!
ok, love the turkey as much as i do, thanksgiving is tomorrow so i feel able to join in with todays cat-themed festivities. :D
Hi, doll
Evan - OMG! Your icon rules...
morning TSM ;o)
Evanadine, good one, lol!
ok speedfgreak...think of an alternative spelling for what you should put on your skin c5 and c6
Gramma! Hey! =o) Your name alone makes me smile. I think all of us here agrees with that!
thanks yoink -- i *almost* used the cat in the hat! hehe
Bobstaaaaa *waves* :) hey
evanidine - like your icon...big Thundercats fan in your youth were you...? I know I was...
Speedfreak, there are also a couple related to a colour, a ce6 and it's plural
evandine - thundercats was one of my oldest's favorites

Who are you callin' a ho Eva? :-D
Yoink,it can't be you silly...ur a boy!!
I don't want to do this...but I can't stop!!!
Yeah, I was just curious
Smeltzdog (or Mrs SD??) your icon looks like it could be a shy cat hiding in a faux fur boot....well??
Okay, first time I've used an icon, but it's a great pic of my parent's cat sniffing my dog's butt... did it come through?
260 and i think i wanna take a break now
On closer inspection a sweet cat with a dead duck on it's head!! Please humour me....
it's a kitty croissant...I don't like cats...they make me sneeze. this is the Mr.
smetzdog - nice icon! Pass the ketchup....
Geez, did I do something wrong? <<sniffs armpits>> Do I o-fend? No one's talking to me today!! :(
Smeltzdog: even Jpgs of cats? lol
hi all
Good morning Jen
sorry Jen, Yup honey your icon is showing. ;o)
Hi Jen, woo-hoo, Jen's here! Yay!
HeHe! Bobsta, your adorable! *gives you a friendly hug*
For goodness sake...OF COURSE it it...ANYone can see that without propmpting...EXCEPT me obviously...OK think I'm moving to a deserted desert island (that sounds really silly) surely desert as in desert island means deserted...cos it can't mean desert as in sand, can it? Eight men, white coats,at door............
hiya bubby x
dachef - I've just worked out what your icon is... It's Eric Cartman's Mr. Kitty... *smacks head in frustration*
I have to say that I think the theme icons are fun but they take away from the "characters" we have all become. Some of us have tried to incorporate our characters with the theme but it has been difficult. I think I prefer the character over the theme.
Good morning! I was starting to feel a bit neglected and I even decided to "play" with the icons today!
MIne is a picture of "Milo the Wonder Cat"
Smeltz...it's ok,was a crack team from the Milk Marketing Board. We could always just have ONE theme day....say a Wed,mid week boredom thingy.
hi babe, take that have just annonced that they are touring next year, minus robbie
I could go for a mid-week theme but every day seems a wee bit excessive.
Dachef be very careful what you threaten to put ketchup on......I'm not that far away you know... veiled threat glinting in eye
I agree....can we take a vote on ONE DAY A WEEK THEME THINGY.....all answers on a postcard to Bobsta
dachef-- who was it asked for a big, juicy puzzle today? Hmmm?
101 down and only 317 to go - woohoo. But time to get ready for work. BBL
Joel...he's already been severely punished
thought they might. gotta go have lunch, call you soon bubs x
Good morning everyone. Haven't been around for a couple of days and found that I really miss you all. Very proud of myself got up and immediately got the ne11 and 12. I've been reading the log and the only thing that confused me was tbears comment on cr12. Am I missing something. Alsoc any better clue on cr5 and 6.
Not. Severely. Enough. But I'll leave that to others.
Joel your bird/cat is really freaky, had to move my cat off my lap...would have nightmares
Jen, I spoke to you right away hon... I said Yay for an excuse to not do housework!
marc-- thanks. all it took was knowing the 1st two letters. BAM!!
yeh - Joelgee. twas me. Sorry. I have already chastised myself thoroughly. Although not too thoroughly cos last time I went blind.
Marc....cr5/12 and cr6/21...what a blue blooded family has above the fireplace,or a cockerel on it's head (I think)
Hey there Jera! chat seems to be moving pretty quick today and didn't see it. How are you doing today?
LOL @ Smeltzdog's icon... cat sandwich!
hi again all, gramma, tbear, and Eva, just freed myself from that blasted white jacket... worked up a sweat too! So can someone explain the icon theme coming up... babbler wrote something about "j-rock"...
actually, tbear. I think it's a catbird. Found it and some other weird mutations here: http://www.yuretz.ru/Nov ye_vidy_zhivotnyh_i_Fotoshop_p 408.html
Jenwould! Hey! How are you this snowy chilled morn? =o)
I'm jealous! Who has snow? I want snow!!
A little chilly... no heat in computer room... hey, might snow tonight! *sings operatically* I'm... dreaming... of a white... Thanksgiving...!!!
Chicago has snow.... and its quite a bit too!
well, to believe that your request had an effect on today's random word generation has cosmic implications I wouldn't want to even consider, so . . . On the other hand, perfect example of "be careful what you wish for".
Thanks tbaer got them both, what about the cr12 did I misread because I only see one 12 and it is and ne.
Oooh... I just got a special weather bulletin... http://www.wund erground.com Check it out Jen!
Marc....don't worry love you hallucinated that cr12
Sorry "wunderground" is all together... I realized the precise link was pretty long & we don't want that today...
okay, lets try a supposition: I hope tomorrow we get a really little grid cos I do not have much time to play.
I'm baaaack. Took a bath, fed and brushed cat, considered giving up the nightgown and thought better of it. Jen, yes, being at work makes it better - although I hope you aren't a neurosurgeon or some such. The topm is making me crazy - how CAn there be so many words with it?! I have the 11 & 12 and plenty of 8's but am missing all the 9's and 10's? Any hints?
OKay Dachef...we get it....You only have time to play with a little one.....ahhhhh
That's okay, I saw there was a space and deleted it. Oooh, I can hope! Weather channel says a chance too!
dachef, more specific, please. A really tiny grid that does not have a lot of 12th c. derivatives of fatal oozey diseases (archaic spellings)
Gotta go make some grub for the Gwyd... second day of preschool today & he's rarin' to go! Later!
See ya Jera!
See ya later Jera
We have snow here in Vermont, but not half as much as was predicted. This early in the season they tend to get a bit hysterical with the forecast.
Snowing on Cape Cod Mass. Early for this time of year.
Eva, Sugarbush is supposed to open this wknd. Do you ski?
snowing here in Indiana!
I am flippin cold....
Any clues on oe7/28?
Joel only took a week to get down that addy,is there a . betwwen Nov and ye?
I'm back... his majesty wanted peanut butter sandwich & milk, getting to be his usual breakfast...
LOL Jera :)
TSM... were you hot over here the other day?
archaic spelling of es6/18
tbaer, I just need a new set of glasses
tbear - just read your earlier comment alluding to a little one. I am shocked. No more catnip for you.
It's pretty cold here in Cambridgeshire, although we don't usually get heavy snow (or any snow at all) until January at the earliest...
jenwould - YES! I was amazed because it is usually -0 in there. Other day we had the fan on! lol How is it today?
tbear-- sorry. just went to make a latte. I just cut and pasted the URL. I'll check again.
TSM~ besides the increase in carbon dioxide (severe exhaling) and instant negativity... it's cool ~ for now...just counting the 34 mins til escaping... heading to bbic to drop off some stuff.. see you there?
Decided to scare all other cats ....as Jera little majesty is busy....love this one REFRESH si'l vous plait
2nd st6/18, please
*runs away screaming in terror... hides in corner with Dachef*
this is it: http://www.yuretz.ru/Novye _vidy_zhivotnyh_i_Fotoshop_p40 8.html I guess when URLs post and they take more than one line, spaces result. Cut, paste. Look for spaces. Delete spaces
no gramma,I dont skit. Not fond, at this time in my life, of things that go very fast and threaten broken bones. But last year I bought myself some snowshoes and had a lot of fun with them. It was the only way I could get to the bird feeder to fill it without getting stuck hip deep in snow. Speaking of bird feeders, do you think the bears are safely asleep yet? Its been so warm that they've been up and about and just love eating bird feeders for snack time.
Fab isn't he....just inverted my white one with turquoise eyes
love me some gingerbread latte from starbucks!! *drools*
tbear-- simple, yet effective. Nice effect.
Why won't it grow up and accept fest?! I keep trying.
Hi guys, i'm back! Did anyone finish while I was gone?? lol!
9's $ 10's?
Eva-- Let's see. Grid doesn't accept "fest". You keep trying. Who has to grow up? ps. I tried again too.
Thx Joel..I'll check it out.Need to go steam my head for a bit, having trouble breathing and focusing.A latte would be lovely...Oh you didn't offer...don't worry...I'll be ok...eventually.....:)
Oh definitely lola! I got on about 45 minutes ago and I'm already done. lol
eva - I'm still puzzled as to why it won't accept 'resit' I mean, what do U do if U fail your exams first time round...?
lola-- dammit!! I thought about puss-in-boots. Forgot.
Evanadine...I try fest every time it pops up....
I find that the older I get the less I accept "no" as an answer....ergo the fest quest.
Eva, I don't think I'd risk it yet. There's probably some state agency that could tell you. Our tax dollars at work.
okay-- I'm sorry. Who wants lattes, espressos, or cappucinos (sp?)
Yup, the qualifications for redoing various acts seem pretty random.
Youjust triggered a memory...wanted to ask you all... BARCODE is a real word, right? Scrabble site i play on wouldn't allow it and it was a 7 letter word on my first go..HOW unfair is that...:(
joel, can I have a small mocha? :)
joel... I'll take an eggnog latte if you don't mind.
Rubbish, quagmire of a grid!
There's always the "put the $40 bird feeder out there to find out" method. You know, when you have to ask the answe is you should wait. Last year they came and tore the plastic tubes in half, yanked the metal grommets out and departed stuffed. But I do miss the birds.
Eggnog latte?? Brilliant! Yummmmmm
pssshhhh. gurgle. gurgle. *hands eggnog latte to jen (w/cinnamon stick to stir)* psssshhh. gurgle. gurgle. *hands small mocha to lola (dark shaved chocolate on top)*
gramma, they are fantastic! Starbucks brings them out around the holidays and it's the only time I stray from my venti non-fat quad shot latte!
Thanks joel! *lola sips her mocha in a dainty, ladylike fashion*
Someone mention coffee?? purr purr purr EXTREMELY cute look : )
BARCODE ANYONE?? PLEASE SUPPORT ME....SOMEONE.....ANYONE......
Good grief! Let's see, work this huge grid or prepare for 15 for Thanksgiving dinner--how do I make such a momentous choice?!
Hey babe! How you doing today? (((xx)))
tbear-- in the project I'm currently working on, I've seen barcode as one word and two. Coin toss, I guess.
Okay, my body is doing the theatening things that bodies do when kept in the same position for ridiculously long periods of time (at least bodies over 30 years old). Time to move around, have breakfast. do the things that normal people do. fake it til you make it, as they say.
delish joel! Morning/afternoon Anj!
anj-- espresso? latte? cappuccino(sp?)?
We don't have a starbucks here. I never felt we were missing anything. Ignorance was bliss. Now,of course, I feel completely deprived. Gramma gets ugly when she's deprived.
Movieman's gotta go, lunchtime is calling!!! P.S. be back soon, so don't no-one be goin' nowhere!!!
Hi All :) Latte please Joel Hi babe (((xx))) : ) Bear, it's in the dictionary as bar code Mom, toss a coin ; )
mom23, if you are crazy enough to cook for 15 people you are crazy enough to start this grid! :)
can I have a catnip mocha please?
oh, is that cartman's kitty??
i burnded my tongue on my gingerbread latte...hehe
*hands catnip mocha to dachef* (little shaved mousey bits on top)*
This was just a quick glance before I nip out but since is 418 beastie and it's also cold outside I might nit nip anywhere : )
Joel...thx...just was indignant at not being allowed, just wanted someone to agree it is used as 1 word sometime, even if incorrectly...Missing 50 extra points hurt a little.....tar mate
morning all! any clues for the 11 or 12 letter word today?!
une - yup. joel - ta. Could have washed the mouse first tho.
Hey! The cup was clean!
And it was a free-range mouse.
Excuse me, but I need to give myself a good licking, Back in 20 with a monster hairball : D
It's no good bribing me with catnip Dachef...i have my own secret stash of orgasmic catnip hidden....but w e could negotiate....what was it i had to do...Oh yes..easy,not make SMALL references.....that's easy...pass the catnip...

lol Jen! :) Hey Babbler! Meow!
Babbler hiya girl!
why isn't meeses a word? (pl of mouse)
Toes- Where are you today!
Is this grid fun? It was fun up till about 3 hours ago, since then my masochistic nature has come out and if it wasnt for the extra-strong catnip and coffee being passed around, I would've killed someone by now. And before you all start shouting at me, I know, I know, its all my fault.
ginger - no words please...refer to her as to4/4
HI Toes, Tbear, joelgee, Anj, ... *looks around for EB* lol Dachef !! : )
I'm only partially serious
Gopod Morning all - I am sooo excited...I found the 8 & 9 without ANY assistance. What a great way to start a snowy, winter advisory, freezing morning.
Off to dose up....see ya all ina bit
haha! Anj you have the character of nermal down thats for sure! *gives nermal cat nip* Babbler, how are you today?
Ginger - I am at Book today. By the way, there are 418 words today! :)

Toes-Forget this puzzle...This will take me all day and all night
Off to the eye doctor again. Maybe some day I'll be able to see. Be back later. Babble on!
Babbler - Nermal is a character from a cartoon strip called "Garfield". Never heard of it? And I am wonderful thank you so much for asking! :)
Ginger - LOL! Yeah i know tell me about it. I have faith that you can do it! Besides, it helps pass the time.
oh........ I've heard of Garfield...... but never really got into it.... : ( yes, I am an ignoramus......... : D
Nice to see you again Anj, any clue on lo8/40?
Bye gramma! Go buy some eggnog and make your latte! :)

Finished the horrible REs. Now the STs. Why am I still here? [sigh]

Hi Babbler and Zubie nice to see you again. Any chance on a clue for lo8/40?
I was here for about three hours at the start, Babbler, and then took a long break. I came back around 260. I'm now on 370 and very annoyed. My ankle's less painful but more swollen. How are you?
Well toes, it was 'til I logged on here to see how many words there were today! I have hardly moved since and have just thrown the list of things I had to do today away :)
*psssssssssssssssssssssss. here kitty kitty*
Poll time. Who thinks I should bag going to the gym today?
*temple owl opens eyes wide with horror as cascades of cats caper towards her*
Hi marc :) For the lo8 think '**** and found' and the scottish lake monster :)
* no! NO! good kitties....................... *
jen - if you skip I will too!
lo 8 40, Marc - completely unfound. (you have unfound as an lo 4 4). Think of unfound and then the monster that lives in a scottish lake.
Can you believe I had it and didn't know it. Thanks lola
Can't blame you, Marc. It's tough to know what one has in such a swamp of a grid! {grumpy} :D
Since I only got one vote and it was for skipping, I guess I will. :) And you are free to skip too, smeltz!
cough cough HACK!!! OK, who wants a 2nd hand furball?? Hmmm 'You have 418 words left to find' Sounds like a challenge if I ever heard one : D

Yoink - by that site my #1 song in the US was Alone Again (Naturally) by Gilbert O'Sullivan and in the UK Puppy Love by Donny Osmond. What was everyone thinking!?!?
mine too... I like the suspicious minds by elvis (re-made by a local artist is even better)
No1 on my birthday was Ticket to Ride by the Beatles over here, and Ms Brown You've got a Lovely Daughter by Herman's Hermits in the UsA
DaChef, lmao. QUite old??? Did you SEE what's on my list? Who ARE those people???
good link - i now know that the No 1 on my 18th was Abba's Dancing Queen - funny how some things are just better forgotten:)
Hi everyone, Are you lonesome tonight by Elvis somebody LOL
My US number 1 was MacArthur Park by Donna Summer
Deutsch - Elvis Costello? Hi, btw!
over the pond it was good lovin by The young rascals
well beans. I tried that weblink and they don't even go BACK to the year I was born. Sitting in corner now grumbling to myself about being ancient.
Yoink - I 've just had a peek at your bio and I've found out you're 27 (the same age as me...) So when's your b-day...? (if you don't mind me asking...)
Sorry, Dachef! In UK No. one was It's now or never by the same guy. I'm guessing he was pretty popular! Also makes me pretty old!
lol, no 1 in the uk when I was born was 'Skweeze me, pleeze me' by Slade :D

Hi Sis.... I hate to say this but BJ had that icon this morning!!!! Hi Baggo.
Baggo, is that the prize for the worst song or best song?? :)
Jen - it's an instumental "tune" that middle-aged and old people dance to at wedding receptions, anniversary parties, etc.
lotti, I was surprised no one seemed to have it! I'll have to change into something else if he comes back :)

Right well I'm off for a while, probably be back on in about 6 hours. Good luck with this monster everyone
*SNARF*
My UK No 1 song was Ken Dodd - Tears My US No 1 song was The Beatles - Yesterday good question, Movieman : )

Of course gramma, as far as I can throw you ;-)
ugh......... think I'll take a break ......after the break I just took........ yeah I know, I'm avoiding my issues.......... LOL! :D

any clues yet for the 10, 11, or 12?
see ya babbler....
can anybody beat 1948?
Atalante, stay, oh pleases stay. It's not as bad as it looks......it's worse. Misery loves company.
3292
beat what joelgee? only just returned. :)
Beat my Guest ??
see my vest! see my vest! made from real gorilla chest!
found most popular song for 1948: manana is good enough for me by Peggy Lee. Wondering if anybody here can beat or come close to 1948. Please. Anybody.
Run Atalante! An don't look back! That's interesting, Joel. We're fairly close in age. I like the movie Gentleman's Agreement with Gregory Peck. It's a real stand out film.
EvaN Simpsons??
What should I have for lunch?
i'm such an idiot, need to get back in the chat, i thought you meant points, which i thought was an odd question, but then i'm really out a kilter today....
Evanadine, what are you up to now? What is your icon (I have to ask since I thought your turkey was a goddess figure).
gramma-- I've come to a conclusion about this: Misery does NOT love company. Misery wants to swaddle in bedclothes, close the shades, and be left alone.
1941!!!
ToSoMo - Candy!
Yo :)
heh, mab -- its the logo from the Thundercats cartoon!
Toes, cocquille st jacques serves in clams to start with, lemon sole filliets in cheese & herbs with a touch of lemon served with saute spuds and fresh veg for main, creme brulee for afters : D
Dunno TSM...I had Turkey sandwich and i`m about to make chilli for tea!!!
Good evening Miya : )

miya-- good day.
Wargh...I forgot about the cat icons *runs*
There is a st 6/18 that really made me giggler :)
NE 11 & 12--think "The Bare ______" Anyone have a clue for ME 10?
lotti - sounds good
Now I'm confused. I thought tea was like crumpets and toast and muffins, marmalade, scones. Chili?
thanks harpjane -- i actually got em. :)
Isn't that afternoon tea? Wait. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Where does the tea go in again?
guess what? I just cleaned the loo! Infinitely more preferable to looking for tr8/45 and tr9/90. What are they, btw, anyone know? oh, washing machine just finished...... : )
...eek! TMI The loo...isn't that the kitty wash as designed by the dog??
Thanks eva, I think I can just make it out. Movieman asked earlier what songs were popular the year one was born. Kind of interesting.
n/11 make something indispensable n/12 add s
soz, Anj.......... but this grid has got all my avoidance tactics in full flow.... LOL!
back in a bit
*still considering* LOL! I'm so undecisive today!
OMG....this damn computer is so bl**dy slow!!!!!!! It`s driving me crazy :(
There...that's a cat...I think...
Atalante, I'm only at 127 words and I'm looking for displacement activities already.............. I'd start on paper, if I were you, mate ! If you want to at all......
lotti - Going reeeeaallly slow . . .and driving you crazy . . .hmmmmmm . .
It certainly looks like one to me Miyavi....Good evening :)
harpjane: me 10/ 84 plural of me 9/66 (prepares cotton for dying)
Alright going to get a sandwitch for lunch. See ya all in a bit! =o)
Can you take it slow babe?????......
any hints on the 10?!
Hey Lotti :) How are you? In fact, how's everyone?
evanadine: me 10 is me 6/ 24 (textile deale)r in verb form
listen i have tried everything with the clues you gave for the ne11 and ne 12 still cant get it help please!!!
Sometimes I'm a Tigger, but usually I take . . . . my . . . time . . .
Back...charry brandy and lemsip...gr8 combo but not together... Evanadine...take yr me6/24 and add three typical endings me9 me9 and me 10 is a plural
Got to pick up karate kid and go to the shop! See you all later :) (((((((((XXxxxxXX))))))))) Torgone ;)
So I'm still stuck on the stupid 11 and 12... I got the "Bare ______" Clue but I just can't monkey type it.. Any other clues Please...
Cmith -- thanks! the real kickers is that i had the 9...heh
Mmmmmm sounds great to me!!!!! ;o)
ne11 & ne12 - think verb form
maryjo -- make it a verb. "to require, to make needed"
torgone...do you now...
"heightened security at airports ne_______ patience when travelling"
MaryJo24: ne 11/ 96 absolutely require ne 12/ 117 plural of ne 11/96 (requires absolutely)
bye lotti
evanadine: always happens to me
Csmith is there another way to spell ne11 cause i type that and it not in puzzle
i am having trouble with the me clues... for 9/9/10
ne 11 & 12 = ryhmes with hesistate & the plural
kakamaloca...do you have me6/24?
nope... i don't
got it thanks kaka
Miyavi....love ur cat,it's so you...fab
What the...418?! That's a misprint...right?
Thank you .... I finally got the stupid 11 and 12
ok me6/24 first for letter 'to show me_ _ y then add errrrrrrrr ummmm you got it now huh?
Hey Bear. How are you feeling dear??
Thanks, Bear :D
tbear there is no y how is that word in the puzzle? very confused
alright, back in a bit...can't tackle the t,s,r's just yet...
Anj...like p3 but cherry brandy is helping..just makes your mouth taste like the bottom of candy floss maker...lol...breathing thru mouth like Darth Tracy
Hi everyone! Miyavi - your icon looks like my crockett!
e_gurl, it's a word that means compassionate (me5) which isn't in the puzzle. Take off the Y and and an ER for the me6/24 (Think goth - Sisters of M.... for the me5)
Temple, weird! How are you?
Bear, mix it with southern comfort. Clears the nose, throat, ears, pipes, brain...
I think that sometimes you will see the me10 word on the label of cotton teeshirts. It is what is done to strengthen and add sheen to cotton. In the grid it is in the present tense.
fine! and you?
sorry anj i still dont see it
oh mab -ty, ty, ty! I was still trying to add endings per anj's earlier clue! : D
is it anything to me6/21
Grrr...*glares at screen* how addictive can one song get? Been singing kekkonshiki no uta all day... "omedetou kimi ni okuru tabidachi no uta sa!"
hint for ai6 plz
Sorry, I don't have the 6, I don't think.
Thx Anj 4 helping e_gurl,am SUPER multi tasking at mo..babble,burning cds, wiping nasal area, huffing and puffing, sipping cb,cookin dinner (ish) and phone...AAAaaa
I'm good thanks Temple...had one of ~those~ days, but good now :) In fact, my day started kinda badly by a girl in my year punching me in the face :/ nice
hi raolen!
e-gurl, there is a children's book author, i believe it's the i don't want to go to bed. His name is me**** mayer
e_gurl, I don't think so. Google 'A dealer in textiles, especially silks' to get the me6/24
i try to start the day with breakfast, myself...
re 9/78? and the 6,7,8 that precede it?
miya-- punching? What the heck?
hey temple
lola coosin, are you going to email me?
That's not nice Miyavi...you tell her you'll get THE BABBLERS onto her...that'll really scare her..hope you reported her...cow
There's a famous songwriter named Johnny M6/24 who wrote "Blues In The Night" "Moon River" etc.
hey miy... punching! I hope she didn't hurt you!
wow, you must be really old.
joelgee,you're back from the shops...where's my sandwich,honey?
harpjane re8 is to recall something - the 9 is its' plural
hurt, shmurt!! What's with the punching?
sniper kitty will get her if you want!
He also wrote Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!
got ai6
thanks anj i thought i typed that but i was spelling wrong i guess
I know, Joel! Totally out of the blue as well. :/ Weird. Got a nice shiny black eye now :) Bear, she won't sleep at night...mwhahaha... Don't worry, Mtn, it wasn't too bad :)
Thank you neeny!
Mtn, think you may have got that picture from the same site I got mine! Loads of random cat pictures on there...
well, alternate hot and cold on it to reduce the bruising, and keep your guard up next time!
Miya?? Did I just read that correctly? Gimme her name! *rolls sleeves up* ... I'll sort her out! grrrrrrr.......
well raolen - can you please give me a clue for it?
mab - I am.
tbear-- here it is. *hands tbear a sandwich comprised of ham, lettuce, dijon mustard, tomato on properly grilled french bed, thick and crusty*
you should see her in action! Its an animated jpeg, LOL I couldn't get it to work on here earlier!
does anyone have clues for the me 9 letter words or 10 letter words please
Hahaha...I don't need guard. A guy mate of mine was standing nearby, and he's pretty tall. Good back-up! He didn't hurt her, but I don't think she'll be touching me again :D
glad to hear it, Miya. Just remember, if anyone hurts you, you tell us and we'll sort it!
Woah, Babbler! Easy now :) I'm not going to do anything, she's got powerful friends :/
that's good miyavi...you did not hit her back
Miy, have you picked tomorrow's theme?
Someday, you'll be famous, rich, and talented. She'll be saying, "You want chips/fries with that?"
Temple, in spite of the drumming I do, my arms have all the strength of two overcooked noodles! If I'd hit her back, she'd have just laughed at me more :)
hey temple sry
oh yeh, I agree with T-Owl. You did the wisest thing, MIya. : )
Miyavi, You need to press criminal charges.
clue for ai6?
yes. escalation not good.
me6 is one who deals in textiles, if that helps; I'm not sure if anyone is still looking for the me series. So people who do things are doers, with that er ending. Then add suffix make an adverb.
mtnjock - tomorrow's theme already sorted - we're doing Japanese Day for Miya!! (check my bio) :D
ea5/10: past participle of consumed one who consumes what am i missing?
oooh. assault and battery. Interesting.
Thanks Joel :) Mtn, I managed to persuade somebody else to pick it for me :) Since I inspired the banana theme
e guru pluralise your 8 nd 11 words
coosin, finally got that mail off :)
same stem as next ai-4, french ending
well i dont have me 8 either
or me 11
hee hee! you will just have to recall other puzzles!
what do you mean by that
Hey miya, dir en grey just came on my last radio! Child Prey, in case you were wondering :) 'scuse me while I take a small mosh break....
good morning everyone...this is a fun one huh?
ne/11 nd 12 an action ne.... a reaction!
e-gurl, me8 comes from me6-
e_gurl - Add on to you me 6/24 before that! That will give you both 9's and the 10. And then pluralize me 6/24 to get the 7/36 after the 10
what radio are you listening to, Lo? ..... wait, I can see on the site, can't I?
recall puzzles refers to ur re8
Really, Lola? That's great! I love spreading the j-rockiness...:D Thanks
Torgone, you're not. I'm not, therefore you cannot be. And I'm not in denial.
https://email.prod.fedex.com/e xchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http: //www.msn.americangreetings.co m/view.pd?i=382219626%26m=1652 %26rr=y%26sou
babs, go to my page and click on my personal radio :)
may i get a clue for the missing ea5/10, please?
Does this hitting go on often in your school, Miyavi?
Lo .... : ( .... just tried that and it wouldn't let me. (tanny on it's way....!) I want to listen to your personal radiooooooooo *pout pout*
owl, do you have the consumtion of food
Babbler, have you downloaded the LastFM radio streamer yet???
yes ty - and the one about who does the consumption
oooh, I did it!! I'm listening to your radio, Lo! Cool!! :D
Temple: plural?
Anj, does it mean I have, if I'm listening to Lola's radio?
Babs, yup. Can't stream anything off there without it : D
Mab, more often than the teachers guess :) Actually, there was a big fight today...though most of the one on one hitting just happens occasionally...like, I was walking along the humanities corridor once when a couple of guys slammed me into the lockers (ow) and started yelling at me. Luckily the same guy mate was just coming out of a class, so it was okay
right first and foremost....Joelgee......would you like to come and live with me...she says licking her lips after a most delicious sandwich...best ever.... Then Miyavi pls refresh...Nurse puss wants to check you over!
72 Temple Owl: were you missing the plural of the compass direction?
Just for a sandwich? Wow! I do believe that the humble sandwich can be elevated to an art form, giving the Earl of Sandwich his props.
Miy, why don't you home school?
babs, that's cool! I'm hearing live's selling the drama now...are you too??
Lol Bear! :) Don't worry
Wow. That doesn't sound right. I wonder. You should be safe in school. I wonder why people are violent? Really, the school should make sure everybody in the school or on the grounds is safe. I'm a little shocked. it sounds like little mafias, or gangs.
Beebee, I don't know...if you're in America, then it's not so common to be home schooled in England
miya-- is this just your school or is it more widespread?
Mab, I guess it's the same in every school...there's just kids that are psychos!
Ooh, managed to answer Joel's question as well :)
If you had this virus any kindness and caring from any quarter is triplefold in wonderfulness,I'll break the habit of a lifetime and let you move in (best wait til the bugs gone tho)
Miy, I am in the US- but, if you can't be safe at school, why go? and you really should press charges. If you were adults and this happened- the police would be called. it's not right for someone to hit someone else no matter what their age.
tbear-- okay. I won't start packing yet.
hot chocolate anyone?
Beebee, don't worry :) As long as I've got my friends around me, I'm safe. And the girl who did it is pretty close to being excluded anyway
Lo - I've got Embrace, The Good Will Out now...... have you? :)
Hi all, oh Miya how scary, my daughter came home on Monday and said they had armed police on campus all day because they heard there was going to be a fight.
Miy, i'm not trying to lecture you or bring you down- i'm just worried for you.
that's a great idea, joelgee! yes please!
hmmm looking for the 10 letter word....
one frothy hot chocolate for babbler
Please don't worry, Beebee :) It's all okay :)
418 words! Crazy!
*smug face* I've got the 10, Tuva............ muu hahahahah : )
One for me please joelgee...
babs, weezer's beverly hills now :)
thank you kind sir, Mr Joelgee sir : )
Schroeder, really?! Armed police because of a fight?! Our school once had five fights in one day, but the police weren't called until one boy was lying on the floor with a broken nose and eye socket
fine... but I have been touched by His Noodly Appendage....
hmmm, Lola, I've still got Embrace.......... interesting! :)
Oh yes please joel :)
...and one for schroeder.
...one for lola.
Oh Miy! I just came back on for a bit and saw what happened! Hope you are doing okay. A pox on the girl! Be safe and know that you have a heck of a lot of people behind ya! :)
hint for be8/50?
Thanks Jen :D
allo? half way there!
Miya, she said it was suppose to be a fight between 2 groups. I live in the mountains and we don't have a lot of problems like that so when word gets out they act fast.
You have 298word(s) left to find *heavy sigh* hi everybody!!!! I gather miyavi is having a rough day? Do we need to charter a plane and go kick some bu**????
Hey mamabear!!! Thank you joelgee
Wow, Schroeder...our school needs some kind of system like that :) Mamabear, you sound as if you do it often lol
I wonder if there is less violence in schools in the US because security has become such an issue. We've had several shootings in schools, so that any sign of violence is jumped on. Kids typically go through metal detectors in lots of schools. Violence takes a whole different meaning here, where guns can be so easily gotten. Which doesn't minimize what goes on in your school, Miyavi. It's awful. I can imagine what happens to kids who don't have friends to protect them.
nevermind found be8, a little odd
Hi Schroeder!!! I think I attacked this puzzle all wrong. Didn't print the list and now have no clue what I need...... harumph and a half.
Mama, love Felix.
Mamabear, I printed the list and still have no clue....lol
be7/40?
No, not really, Miyavi, I'm really a softy..... but I TALK tough!!!!
Mab, metal detectors? And shootings?! Kinda puts a black eye into perspective! Wow...where do the kids get the guns?!
Hi all... what a monster! And I don't have much time to play, so I shouldn't have started... but hell, who am I kidding. How did Miyavi's exam go?
Thanks, mab!!!!
Hi Sprite!!
Anyone have Ne11/96
Hi Schroeder! Is it a bad one?
I am almost done!!!! I just need help with these last 268....
IT'S MAH MAMABEAR !!!!!!!!!! yahooooooo! *leaps over for a big fat squeezy tight bear hug* how you diddling, Mama? :)
lol Mama! Hey Sprite :) Er...what exam?
Mama once threw me out of the house into the cuzzi.
Jen: fellow Crohn's person, are you well?
TWH: one of the very first I found! Something like 'to make so that you can't do without'?
hi everyone is it a cat day?
Sprite, just getting started not so bad so far, but....
Miyavi: I was told you had some sex related exam and all people here were supporting you with banana's :) (see my icon...)
hi karen! yes it's cat day, for Jera's daughter. Anyone know if she liked it?
Sprite: one of my first as well.
Hi Karen, Sprite :) Yup, it's a puddy tate day. Right 200 to go - good time for some tactical nosebag methinks. Anyone else for Whiskas??
enough with the cat croissant...the dog in a cape is back!
And then you have the Ne12/117 too, of course! Wow, what a wonderful couple of biggies!
Anj, Karen, hi! :)
Riiight...we were going to have a PSE day about sex...in which we would be expected to put, er, contraception on bananas :/ But they changed the unit at the last minute and gave us eating disorders instead. Er...not literally...
i had a quick peep yesterday and the log was awash with smiley faces is this a new trend? *sighs* (always behind) :)
It's just 1 p.m. on the east coast babbler, Jera's daughter may still be in school. Sprite: how droll!
Tuva refresh...I'm prepare to try this out for about 5 mins...but it's not me...
Yep, got 'em both!
Aha... well, in that case, Miyavi... have a banana :D
TBEAR!!! Welcome aboard! Yaarg!
Hi karen and sprite :) See you later babe :)
LOL Tbear and Tuva! .......... I can feel a future theme coming on ; ) ...........

Sprite... :) this is unusual for you morning girl!!
I, not a cat lover ate the cat croissant for lunch.
it's The Sweetest Condition. Wow, I've never had the pleasure of seeing them live! : )
Tbear... I am almost done! Only have 262 to find!
Hi tbear! Well, not really, because on Wednesday and Thursday I have to be at work at 7 am, so that is before the grid changes. I can only play after work then.
Oh my Tbear, I'm scared....
*lola nips off to check her mail*
LOL!! Lola!!........... Bananarama !!!!!!! : D
Argh...anyone heard of a song called 'kick the can'? Sounds sort of like a modern can-can song. Someone put it to the backing of a dir en grey fan vid, haven't been able to get it out of my head
Smeltzie!!!! You're back from your seminar cruise?
babs, eeewww! lol, I had the carpenters earlier, guess it can't be 100% all the time! DM were amazing. Dave gave up singing 'everything counts' and just let the crowd do it. They were one of the first big bands to tour there so it was special for everyone.
Anyone know how to make the text bigger on the screen (tired eyes) i have tried CTRL + scroll mouse. normaly works, any suggestions x

Me too, first word...what does that say about us? hmmm
You mean you haven't started yet babs?? *lola slides half empty bottle behind monitor*
I needed a B4 right after I entered the first few words, then pauzed to look at the stats panel, just to find out I should NEVER have started this one ;)
*babs downs it in one.......... smacks lips* cheers, Lo ! : )
JO, Babbler: my first word was em5/16: the fireplace one
that was my first word, Sherry! :)
Hmm, sherry. It'll be a hot nite tonight. Combine that with the be! LOL

Hi Minski!
Hey Minski :)
sea monsters have always had to fight for proper recognition
Lola could you please toss a cold one over here? I think I'm going to need at least one.
Haz something that is vital or a need to have and plural it
Hi minski! :) *lola hands minski ice cold b4/6*
Isn't she a lake (or loch) monster? The male cross between human and fish is accepted though in the plural.
lola - you passing out the be 4/4's????? I could go for a few!!
It's okay - I got the words ages ago. I was just posting the points for Sherry.
oh sorry
Thanks Lola! *Neatly catches and glugs down 1st beer.* Another please!
Thanks Haz!
It's no problem - I'm sure others have been helped by your clue.
*lola hands mamabear an ice cold b4/6* Help yourselves everyone, there's plenty to go around :)
OOPs. Forgtot to bleep out word. Toss the fish over here too please.
A soldier for hire... that is a merc, right? Won't take, though. Probably because it is an abbreviation or something. Longer versions are valid, though.
*puts on false beard* *talking in German accent* Ich say, Ich could do mitt ein Beer!
Why not? There's always room for be4/6!
Yah vol!!!!
Miyavi - if you were asking for it in German, the word construction would be 'I could with a beer do' Strange language!
Timer dinged. Gotta go check oven. CUL8R
Jawhol jawhol jawhol!

Hi Sherry : ) Whopper today ; )
Anj - in my world, its a whopper every day. Hur hur!
Anj: yeah! when I saw the number, I was like: 'non, ils plaisantent, là ?' lol
My connection is going haywire and I am going bananas. Sorry to be so silent on the log, and so unhelpful. Don't seem to be able to get more than one or two words in, then my connection fails again. And the clock says I only have one more minute to finish.
Anj ....Dachef lives in the world of magic mirrors LOL
csmith i googled a person of mixed blood and nothing is coming up. sorry to keep bothering you
lotti - I love my magic mirrors!!
Pas une plaisanterie. Babble fait ceci à nous de temps en temps lol Dachef, careful with that carving knife then... ; ) Lotti, shh, it's a man thing : D

mick jaggers group......
sorry
cr 7/32 and cr 8/45?
e_gurl85: me 7/32 = person of mixed blood There are several alternate spellings for this word - the most common has a z and ends in a vowel. Change the z to an "s"
cybernan, add 2 letters to the rabbit food then plural
Cybernan: cr 7/ 32 scented oil burner cr 8/ 45 plural of cr 7/32 (oil burner)
cybernan cr7 - the small green stalk-like vegetable that goes well with egg sandwiches, add the French for is. Then, of course, pluralise!!!

Yay dachef!
*comes back from kitchen* cor dachef!! bravo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy day before Thanksgiving everyone. Haven't had much time to babble lately - but wanted to stop in to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
i wish i was close to being done i only have104 completed
uh-oh...now i'm not entering good words 'cos I used them in yesterday's puzzle and my mind has blown a fuse : ?
*hesitating in front of wardrobe* Um...first on the pile are white ones which I half dyed black, then ripped almost to shreds. What to they go well with?
Davetins: In Sci-Fi when you go on a long space trip, you have to be put in st 6/18. This is the plural of that
Hi lupe :)
Happy thanksgiving to you lupe
miy - non-revealing pants.
Can someone give me a hint on the oe? I'm guessing this is not a word I know...
Hi Lupe!
Anj, I believe that's what Liana calls a brain fart :)
Dachef: wow, felicitations!
ughhh I just got be8/50....
oe 7/ 28 yet another alternate spelling for a female hormone
be7 and be6/27 anyone?
Ripped almost to shreds! Almost! All incriminating areas well and truly covered. It was in an effort to recreate Kyo jeans for a cosplay...then I couldn't bear to let them go.
...I call it 'tilt' : /
Hola Lola, mab - thanks e_gurl!

grrrr won't accept beseen. 'S a good word grump }(.
mtnjock, when Dr_God first set things up so we could upload icons, he had to remove the option of animation because it was slooooowwwwiiiinnnggg everything down . . .
I can guess its about the use of animation. When we first got these icon privelages, some people posted animated icons .... they were terribly annoying. LOL
Anj: change last letter and you have a valid one. As a consolation ;)
i dont see how to pluralize it
Animated icons...sounds like a good idea, though...*gasps* I can make Kyo move!
TR 9's? Either one? Hurry, they're shutting my power off in 11 minutes!
Harpjane: your helmeted cat is a scream!!!

See you Dachef :)
egurl: find the french word for plait, and remove the last vowel
ANYONE HAVE THE SE 9/60?
e_gurl85: in your tr 5/10 change the second to the last letter to the same as the last letter
Egurl This word isn't in the grid. HINT~ when you are having a bad day you might say you are ST8 OUT. Remove the S and you have the TR
Kelstar :se 8/ 45 ancient roman coin (ends in te 5/12 being the third position in fencing) se 9/ 60 plural of se 8/45 (coins)
kelstar - plural of the se8 - someone who gets spicey :) Think spring, summer, autumn etc

*lola slides chocolate over to Anj*
egurl go back to the old clues for the TR9 and use them.
Man! I feel like I got so far with my word finding and then saw I still had almost 300 to go! :(
reaally gotta go this time. baby has a diaper emergency. later.

*watches lola passing the chocolate and licks lips*

Oh my, I'm not even close. Wished I would have never known how many, than I can think I was cranking them out this time!!!
*Cmith whimpers pathetically as the chocolate whizzes by her*
Well, I suppose since you finished all my b4/6 you may as well have my choccolate too...*hands chocolate to babs*
*hunched over maths homework, trying to ignore the tantalising choccy smells*
*tackles anj's hand with her face* Thank you Anj!
*Babs tries to take laydee-like sip, even though she's depressed with today's grid and feels like being mega-greeedy!*
*passes CSmith large bar of Yorkie in recognition of clue giving efforts* Tell you what, if that se9/60 for the most occult is a word, Enable needs severly updating given what it won't accept lol : D
Just need the last one, ST6/18 the 4th one on Brandy jacks list, next to the things you use to go up to the next floor??? Any clue gratefully received, Cmith's stoppage of bodily fluid didn't work for me??
davetins...not sure if this is the one: Think Lisa Simpson's doll. Malibu St..... and swap the Y for an S : D
Davetins: and my space flight clue didn't do it for you. *grabs chocolate and downs it in 1 second - body goes into st 6/18 from sugar shock*

Bye Sherry -
x = (5ky/8k2) + 3f/8 [k] Anyone any good at rearranging equations?
shoot miy (engineer / mathematician here)
*points to scary equation below and whimpers*
you want to find k?
Derrr!! Am i doing a maths course for a reason?????
davetins...it's a word associated with suspended animation. Or at least it might be in NASA's dreams : /
MMMMMM, the first 2 be4's... is there anything better? :)
miyavi, I used to love doing those but many moons have passed since I was at school and I'm afraid I wouldn't know where to start now :/
yup, need to try and distinguish k from that merry mess. Maybe I can get away without doing it if I plead temporary insanity?
davetins: take the st 6/18 from the USA and change the second "t" to an "s". I am not taking yoiu on my next visit to The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

hi miyavi, hows the homework going?
Absolutely Miyav!!!
lol lotti, that's why you two are such the match....lol he only has eyes for you now...8-/
baggo! LOL!
its been a while but see if this makes sense: x = (5ky/8k2) + 3f/8 x - 3f/8 = 5ky/8k2 8x - 3f = 5ky/k2 (8x -3f) /5 = ky / k2 y-2 ------------- \/ (8x - 3f)/5 = k
Think I deserve a cognac after all that Any one else???
LOL Baggo, that does wonders for my ego!!!!! He`s such a babe :)
gimme the bottle, dave
omg! this is the biggest puzzle i have seen since i started this game!

hey folks! WHAT a puzzle! anybody have either of the ce8's?
Sorry about that. Minor burp. Everything should be back to normal now.
...it's a bit unstable today isn't it : /
OMG I`m a home wrecker!!!
k was to the y power, divided by k to the power of two when you have powers (say y = 4) k4 / k2 = k2, thus the step where I divided the k's and got k y-2 power I left off., I took the y-2 square root of both sides and got k
anj-- who isn't?
Hi all. Was that formula the one for calculating how many words and points are in today's grid?
Hurshey, small US coin thes pluralise twice for second one change the 7th letter to another vowel
*still with arms around Mtn, big cheesy grin on face* Love love love
Oops! Babble couldn't connect to the server to add your word. that's a new one for me, anyone get this before? sad I just got locked out for a few minutes. :(

Cheers Mtn. Now I remember why I hate algebra with an unholy passion : D
yeah mtnjock, the theme was much easier to bear today. :)
Gotta go :( Miyavi your letter is in your mail box!!!!!!! See you all later :)
you should try abstract algebra and differential equations LOL (evil laughter in background)... Miy, I loved story problems, that is what got me through Math as a whole.
*prises self with difficulty away from Mtn* Oooh...that reminded me...:D

I dunno mtnjock. I really enjoyed differential equations...
*grabs Mtn by the hand and starts dragging him through the monitor to England* You're coming to my next maths lesson...
I enjoyed Diffi Q's as well.
mtnjock: er? k = exp ((8/5)x -(3/5)f) - exp (y-2)
think of a european liquid measure and change the first letter Babbler

daventins the only superlative that i see cant go in it am i missing something??
It's not even sad imagery, though! Miyavi just ran away from a house when someone answered an intercom...and I started crying just because he did...weird...
That's a little weird, but go with it! I've wept at weirder!
Ugirl if you've got the re6/21 use the last letter to make another word for exam
The "sad" part of the film seems to be over now though...now he seems to be teaching guys how to put on makeup :/ Hey, it's all good :D
feel like I have been entering words for hours peeked at my stats still have 188 to go!!!
ugirl, you are starting with the r in the right hand column??
speed, earlier this am, i copied transposed to letters when i wrote my list, cause i was gonna be away, so imagine putting in all these words that you know are words and it won't take them, took me about 10 minutes to figure it out....
Onesies is a word!
Miyavi? tissue please? I've just conquered the c's! *snif*
*hands back one slightly soggy tissue*
yeah thats the r i was using im just babbled out i guess cause i sure do not see it

I know what you mean Baggo, took it to work with me this am and people helped at break and took me forever to weed thru doubles and oops not a valid word!!
*reads davetin's message, faints*
Well, I thought so.
The re6/21 meaning in the last few minutes use the last letter and add 3 which means an exam at school
yeah it is torgone...alas proper name i guess
ok, so what do i need to add to the prev lo4 to get my lo8?
It's the thought that counts :) *cheesy grin* I am a disgusting child :D
neverMIND, used the old noodle and got lo8.
hurshy the monster(loch....) over in the uk
With 190 left to find, I guess I shouldn't quibble over accepted words ..
I always start at the end deutsch because you get to see the grid as you go up
Hi all, 290 still to go.....oh well should have known better that to start but I couldn't help myself.
davetins - that's my secret too. saves on a lot of scrolling doesn't it?
Miya: i'm listening to Amadeus just now. That is great!!! Absolutely my style!!!
Hi shroeder, Davetins, sometimes I start at the bottom. I like to watch it fill, also!
Thank God...the nightmare is over... Given the choice, I would rather spend an evening wit' Freddy Krueger, Jason Vorhees AND Leatherface than go through a marathon like that again!!! lol... Anyway, just gotta refresh my icon ready 4 J-rock Thursday, then I'll B off... See y'all.......!!!!!!!
See ya Movieman!

me too, speed : )
here here....all hail the babble lords!!!!!
Baggo?? umm..., well there's an se8/se9 combo for people that like Vivaldi's Four :) Then there's an se7 meaning produce a bodily enzyme an se8 which means produces that enzyme an se9 - put a T on the end for the most hidden : )
speed, I've been at this ALL day...I've done nothing else! lol!
Well done babe : ) quick slow dance? I've still got 72 to go...
Im happy I finished the .....M's (yea)
it was that enzyme one that i had never heard of, the others were kinda there...
can anyone help me with me 8/45?
harpjane, take your tr add a vowel (think the drug) add a USA coin add a vowel (hoop this time). That will give you the 8, pluralise for the 9 :)
Yea, speed, I was happy to finish the c's
How about a quick kiss then and I'll wait for you in the jacuzzi? ;)
for the me8 add to the 4 & 6 above it...it is the M__________ room you have ever seen!!
*clinging to monitor, crying helplessly*
lola...afore ya get busy with anj, could i have a clue for the first re8/40?????
baggo, add salt to food again?
movieman's new icon, is cute
thanks, lola!
OK ; ) (((xxx))) Miy, you need to find a happy place dear : ) Can't you watch something less upsetting? Texas Chainsaw Massacre springs to mind...
lola, thanks. Got the clue. Have no idea why that letter is supposed to be related to drugs. But I got the clue!
lola...thanks thought i had already tried that...these ones get so big its hard to remember what you put in and don't (((xxx))) anj, i was thinking of one of the freddy movies...
Sorry, it's just...*sniffles* so sad...but, I don't know why. *dissolves into fresh wave of tears* Poor Miyavi!

Speaking of which, I think I recognize Moviman's new icon *cheesy grin* Miyavi Miyavi :D
really they are so fake ya just gotta laugh!!!!!!
ok ,it turns out my mum's flight was canceled and she's not coming in until tomorrow, so I get to sneak in a little more babble time today. :)
Oookay...I got to go rethink every single moment of Oresama in my mind for hours, then finally fall into a Miyavi-themed sleep in which I'll dream myself on stage with him in Japan. Ooh, I can't wait...
Baggo, I was thinking more of your actress/bishop comment :'D
sorry to hear that, boreetos. But good for babble!
Miya: what other cool bands/singers do you know apart from Miyavi and Dir en Grey?
back to my earily query.. any clues for the ne 11 & 12?
Sorry boreetos, weather related?
yeah, fog. and lots of it.
golly. somebody please tell me that the first no 6 and no8 are NOT related to the first no4. please?
*sighs* ...hand me the plural fish, somebody please...
boreetos - to make needed, and makes needed
Boreetos The cancellation of your mother's flight makes NE9 (not in the puzzle but the root word of the 11 and 12) another trip to the airport tomorrow.
*hogs plural fish............. it's not for sharing today!*
boreetos, too much fog ne/12 the cancellation of your mom's flight. Take the plural off for the 11 :)
hurshy minski, thanks, great clues. easily lead me to the right ones. :)
Lola, you too, thanks!
Hurshy, yes they are. Add a two letter word (babble ** addictive)
so, any help for hurshy with the first no6 and no8?
I still don't have the ME10. Could someone please assist me in remedying that situation?
Forget the fish we need a whale for this one!!!
thanks lola!
...no, No, NO! If lo8 is a word then Enable really does need a boot up the butt for what it doesn't allow : /
hurshy: yep no 4/4 is the root for the others.
me 9's and me10 all build on prev me6. first name of children's book author. wrote "just for you"
minski, plural of the second me9. Shout if you don't have it :)
you have GOT to be kidding.
I have some MEs that refer to the state of my house because of all the babbling and no cleaning, but no others. and no 9s at all jsut the related 8
hurshy: no 6/ 18 reasoning process no 8/ 40 plural of no 6/18 (reasoning processes or "not my female siblings")
Anj: Just had to find that lo 8 you were talking about could not believe it when I monkeyed those letters also and it took!!!
minski - the me6 on which the 9's and 10 build starts with same first 4 letters as what you show someone if you pardon their crime
anj, what is this lo8 you speak of?
csmith, i'm set on those, thanks. my last comment was regarding this oe7.
ok i think i've entered stress about 5 times now
Minski: The closest planet to the sun and the missing me's start with the same four letters
YES!!! got the oe7!
minsky, me6: think to show someone me***. Lose the last letter and replace with tv medical drama. me7: think sunny blue sk***, lose the first two letters and add. 2nd me9: swap last two letters of first me9 around. me10: pluralise.
sorry! *minski* :)
Hello babbblers!
Hi yoink! Back to finish then? :)
268 words left - why did I even start???
LOL, I very much doubt it, not if I want any sleep between now and work tomorrow.
yeah finishing today is a very unrealistic goal for me. I think atleast getting the sevens and up is a good thing though.
is there anything about this puzzle that doesn't make you want to die?
ive got 334 words to go, not going to happen.
hip hip hooray....FINISHED...anyone need any clues before I go
Hurshy: yeah...I got friends to give me clue!
Hi Yoink Because lbav we have to babble...270 left...lol

fe5, what monkeys throw! and on that note. I'm going back to work. Have a great day tomorrow everyone, I'll probably get some babble time on Friday. :)
If you didn't know where you were, a measure of it would be your lo8
Got it, thanks!
LOL! 'bye boreetos! :)
I don't care what anyone says lo8 is NOT a valid word. fuming and pouting.
see you Boreetos!
Bye boreetos....have a great T-day!!

Hi renfield!
upstate ny....love the bnl
lol renfield!!! Hi
But Renfield, it's SUPPOSED to be 80 in Houston. It's TEXAS, fer pete's sake. LOL Here in Wyoming, it should be snow on the ground about a foot deep.
hi sherry - how's your brother? hi shro -
189 words left to find ................ should I continue after Lo4/4 (on television!), or should I just give up?
don't you give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh drat. I gotta get to work. Besides this grid is making me nuts. later all. Maybe I'll get back if my sanity returns (laughing hysterically all the way out to the studio).
Renfield: he's fine! the mamoth grid scared him away today! so he just came into my room to help me find a couple of words.
Babs, I'm torn too. I think I'll be part-time babbling while watching the late lo4 on E4
Babbler, winners never quit dear ; )
Come back Babbler....you can do it!!!!

I'll probably be here, Ren, then gone for a few days - weekending at a cabin upstate in the biiiig snow we just got. Of course I have to finish THIS grid first...
lol sherry... my icon is always the same.. thought it a bit of a coincidence that there were many other cats in here today!
Happy Thanksgiving, Griff. I know that your icon is a dog's paw and i hope you won't mind if just for today I think of it as a cat paw.. I hate this grid.
Babe, I have to get some sleep, I'm shattered :/ I'll write you a quick mail before I go tho', okay? (((xxx))) Goodnight everyone and good luck! :)
Cathy: lol! Tomorrow is Japanese rock day.
G'night Lola :)
nite lola!!!!!!!
Nite Lola!
Oh! And happy thanksgiving to all the USA players :)
Hi mab - I hate it too. I got through half of it last night. Have the rest of today off and might need it to finish. TTFN.
night lola...... sherry... what does a japanese rock look like?
envy the snow - we still pay a yard crew to mow the homestead - i painted my hair w/ fall colors since our trees are still green -
'Night Lola, and well done (who does puzzles that take all day? We do. Why?)
thanks lola - we do enjoy our turkey days
Cathy: you've seen Miyavi_fan's avatars? Japanese rock bands, singers who dress outlandishly.
ty lola...
'nite Lola, sweet dreams babe (((xx))) Cath22, that's fightin' talk!! lol : D
sherry... i was kidding... trying to be literal... lol
I have the me/9 which means sloppiest, may I have a clue for the second me9 and any other 9 letter word, pretty please.
lol anj... i have 4 days off now, so have a bit of gusto in here!
Cathy: oh, la, la, my apologies....it's that *%$§ grid! It's driving me 'dingue'! lol
The last se9?
A clue for the me10 would be most appreciated. I do have the ne11 and 12 though.
lol sherry... i haven't spent long enough on it to get like that yet!
Peri - do you have the me 6/24 before the 10?
Cath, those 4 days might well be spent on this grid lol :) There are some weirdies on here...
Is there only one me6/24. I just found an odd one.
No, there is two.. Are you looking at the list?
harpjane: do you have the Gaul currency one? se9/60?
anj... you might be right with that... i plan to finish this grid tonight! tomorrow is thanksgiving here, and, as the saying goes, 'when in rome.....', so i am hoping for a bit of a smaller grid so i get a chance to finish!
My family just doesn't get it...here I am with a 400t grid and fixing thanksgiving food and they just asked what is for supper...!!! Gave them the takeout numbers.
I'm back! lol! Anj, if you see babs will you tell her I'll mail her tomorrow? 'nite babe, see you tomorrow (((xx)))
Peri, there are 2 - one deals in textiles, specifically silks, the other are blokes with fish tails : D
speedfreak - whack 'em with a fish
Will do babe : )
I have the me that is blokes with fishtails. Never saw that word before, just monkeytyped and voila.
Anj: 'blokes with fish tails'. lol!!! I got it!
Hi Periwinkle! Sorry... I hadn't noticed you.
ok i need my last word, it's the last ta6/18...please i still have to shop for tomorrow....my hubby is ready to kill me, and i might have to work at 11 tonight...help 8-(
Peri - Now add to that 6/24 and you will get the two 9's , 10 , and 7
Sherry, I go descriptive when the brain starts to limp... : )
Anj: pretty efficient!
Sherry, I DON'T have the Gaul currency se 9? I guess that's the one I need a clue for!
Baggo, take the S off your ta7/28 : )
ad break ........... I got that Lola! no worries :D
Babbler, Lola says ...oh right... : )
Anj, have you finished?
Babbler, no, a solid 47 to go...
Ah screw this, I'm giving up and swapping babble for tv then bed, I'll be seeing letters in my sleep
omg...slaps self with the plural fish...i did the change y to i so i was sure that wasn't a word....***gives anj big smooch***
Harpjane: A silver or bronze coin of ancient Rome equivalent to one fourth of a denarius. I said Gaul, because first I came across this word was when reading Asterix!
Yoink, you know you're going to regret that lol : )
Bye Yoink, sleep well

Bye Baggo, Congrats....I'll be shopping about 10pm later
the stuffing is the best part....ok really gotta go afore he takes the babble away!!!!!!!!!!
Goodnight all.
This is a non babble question- but, I figured with so many intelligent people in one place- someone might know. I am trying to find out about electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). There is alot of stuff on the web, but you never know what is true.
Hi, Sherry, Hi everyone. Really big puzzle and I am very tired. Need to take a break.
What is it that you want to know?
shopping -shopping? we have to shop as well?
They are saying it is a proven treatment for bi-polar, with little to no side effects. but, shocking your brain into having seizures- doesn't sound like a treatment
beebee: wow....sounds like the good ol' therapy they used on shell shocked guys during WW1.
ts? oe? Thank you!
My only experience is that of a friend who suffered from severe post-natal depression. All sorts of medication failed to give relief, but the ECT worked.
Harpjane: did get you se9?
did she have any memory loss?
She had a little memory loss after each treatment but it was temporary.
lost in a quagmire of se's. can anyone help with the se7 and se8 that come right before a group of six?
ok - shutting this office down and hitting the highway - see you guys once i'm home - maybe i can get a few words typed in....
I did Sherry, ty!!
Sherry, not yet. I think I need a clue that practically spells it out! (hint, hint!)
See ya Renfield!
Harp: google it!
Hey, who's the icon theif........
ignore request - it won't make sense. will re-ask soon.
You're welcome Schroeder!
Bye Renfield, can you go shopping for me on you way home....
I'll try again with Google. Didn't see anything that started with SE last time.
Harp: google will give a se8/45 then pluralise.
well, that's comforting. my friend is in the pysc ward and that's the treatment they are recommending. i'm glad it's a choice i don't have to make. but, i want to be informed of everything that goes with it. even though she's not really in any shape to make life altering decisions. i appreciate you answering me question. happy thanksgiving to everyone.
my husband doesn't let me grocery shop - i don't even get a check book - but i've got my amex - so what do you need me to pick- up?
Happy Thanksgiving Beebee!
beebee - I know that the treatment sounds strange, especially as the doctors don't always seem to know why it works. I hope your friend gets better soon.
thanx sherry and same to you. it would be better if i didn't have to cook the meal ,have everyone over, and clean the mess. the joy of the holiday season. :)
Sherry! Thanks. I didn't see your specific clue so I was googling "Gaul currency" Got it!
LOL renfield, you sound like me, my husband cooks, and shops, I call him my "houseboy"
Need a clue for the EC words, please
Harp: great!
thank you haz, i hope she gets better too.
And just think, you'll get to do it all over again at Christmas, Happy Thanksgiving....
Thought I would play with the r's for a break..they are usually easier to add re to words..well after an hour I still am missing 22 words starting with the R GRRRR!!!
May I have a clue for the br8 and the cr8 please
It's going to be okay speedfreak, stay calm....breathe...have a drink.....
ec 6/21 - repeat the first vowel then add diminutive of female sibling. ec 8/45 - plural of above
be4/6 + i plus superlative ending
I meant be 8
Peri: I read you right!!!
be 8 is superlative of be 4.
be 4/6 that is.
Thanks for the ec clues Haz! would never have found those!
I have the be6 that means excellent. Is that the right one?
Peri: nope! it's alcohol one you need!
The be 8 I'm talking about is related to the drink be 4/6
peri, it the be4 that you drink!
no- it's the one that comes in a can or bottle
Thank you all, Didn't see That be6 until it was pointed out. Got the be8, stupid word.
I meant didn't see that be4/6. Really do need to take a break :)
peri did you make the be4 into be5
May I have a hint for the cr8 and ec8 too. Yes, I am still here. Can't seem to get off the chair. My arse seems to be glued to it. :o)
beebee, I did now
Peri - do you have the cr 5/12 before that?
cr8 is plural of cr7
Do you have the ec 6?
FROM HAZ: ec 6/21 - repeat the first vowel then add diminutive of female sibling. ec 8/45 - plural of above
ec8 is plural of ec6
Got the ec8, Thanks for all the help. I have two cr5/12
cr 5/12 - type of toothpaste with the last letter changed..
Now add to the 1st 5/12 You will get both 7's and the 8.. Good Luck
Does anyone have clues for cr 6/21, cr 7/32 and cr 6/24? Please
The resulting words sound like a cheerleading team for green garnish...
Kristinarose333, thanks so much, found them
No Problem..
I have a cr6/24 that is plural of 5/14 variant spelling of what you put in tea/coffee
Time for bed. Goodnight all!
kristinarose, it looks like you just need to make plural words you already have
goodnite haz- once again thanx for your response.
WoW.. I was using the top E...
do you have the 1st cr 6/21 and the 7?
Nite Haz!
Bye Haz....sleep well I'm out of here also, be back later....
kristinarose - 1st cr6 and 7 - like actor john from fawlty towers, but change second letter. or like a fold in something, but change fourth letter
kristinarose, people like to iron this in their clothes(funny spelling) and then its plural
Folks, I haven't finished, still need 282 words...but I'm off for today. I'm going to write a little. See ya tomorrow! Thanks for the clues!
a demain, Sherry!
goodnite sherry
Thank you.... I got it!! Only 200 more to go...
'nite Sherry : )
I give up
don't give up-misery loves company:)
Evening, all. I take it everyone has finished and is just sipping wine, munching truffles, and awaiting the next grid?
Hi Everyone! I have just spent the past half hour typing in the nealy 200 words I thought I found while at work today, It tuens out that I only found another 95, leaving me145 to go :) looks like if I want to truly finish this one, a2z will be my copilot :D
Any clues on the SC's??
GW: I feel like this is the neverending grid..been at it for hours and still have 178 words to go..getting tired!!
sc5 and sc6: cologne sing. and plural
sc5 - ordor, smell, pefume, cologne. sc6 is pl.
so, we learned from grey- don't use worktime for babble. lol
I am here trying to type in words with my daughter helping me -- she approves of kitty cat day, BTW -- she keeps holding her toy kity up to the screen to look at all the icons :)
sc5 - "Loose rock debris covering a slope." sc6 is pl.
beebee - not unless you work somewhere with net access and/or a better dictionary than a students vest pocket dictionary ;)
GW: I'm sure if you let your daughter just type random letters with this puzzle some words will take LOL
Thank you...
hey GW
lol, sppedfreak -- so far no luck yet
but at least you got the 95, so that students vest pocket dictionary is doing something. :)
how many words
te 6/ 18 and te 7/ 28, at the bottom of the list, anyone, pls? ..... back, btw ; )
Hey GW - been working at this monster grid all day off and on. Missing a lot of the me's. Any clues for the first me 6/30 and below?
Hi, hilaryfan -- how are you doing today? beebee - actually I got only about 25 from the dict -- the rest I got by inflicting the grid on my coworkers :D
You're lucky. I can't access Babble at work. IT dept. frowns on the consumption of bandwidth. Silly, eh?
Great! Happy early Thanksgiving to all!
Allstart -- I hve no clues to give bec I haven'e even looked at the second letter list yet -- I haven't had a chance to ;)
te7/28 - at the cosmetics counter, there are lots of little te***** so you can try out perfumes, etc.
GW- you are a smartman- if only i had a co-worker- then i could have more words. the print in the dict. is tooo small.
allstar - me 6/30 - "We are me6/30 of this club" then pluralize it for the 7/44
1st me6/30 - if you join a club, you are a me****
Gotcha. I had a vacation day today, so I've Babbling and doing stuff around the house. Need any help.... rhetorical question, right?
oops, hang on, sorry, they're about 2 thirds of the way down, just above the te4/4 exam
Allstart -- I don't have web access at work, I work for Lenscrafter's -- I printed the grid and wrote down my list of potential words!
any clues for the 10?
allstart- take the me- you just got and it'll give you the re8/60 and make it plural for the re7/78
GW - Do you have the me 6/24 before that... If so you will get the 9's and the 10...
beebee and Charm - thanks. Can't believe I missed those. Way too obvious.
me 6/24 - "Take me***y on me" - But change the last letter.. Then start adding for the 9's and the 10
GW - the 10 is a term used for the treatment of cotton fibres used for clothing.
me6 - Johnny me**** (Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil) me9 - process for cotton fabric. me 10 is present tense.
HOW MANY WORDS!!!
only 418.
Still missing the me 7/36 and 8/50 below the Me***** Only words.
ONLY 418
allstart - the first word I found was the em5 & 6, and the others kinda followed after. pure dumb luck - the best kind!
Charm.... you mean I have to work at this? Geeez. :D
me7/36 - something to remember a personal event. me8 is pl.
hilaryfan1 Don't Start!!! Run Be Brave!!
hilaryfan -- If you check the start of the log you will find that you are not alone in your reaction ;D
Charm - AAARGH. Have to remind myself that words can go in different directions. You'd think that I'd learn by now....
babbler - did you get your te6 & 7?
I only have 59
any help with what i'm hoping is a 5/6 combo right before the last ti4?
ti5/10 - looks like a fr. word. "Concentration of a substance in solution." ti6 is pl.
hilaryfan -- how long have you been working at it today?
Hello everyone...still ill but at least clean....to word infinity and beyond p.s.has jacula been on...she sounded so sad this morning..
: ( , no Charm, I didn't. (thanks for remembering!! cor!) : D
oh of COURSE! thanks charm!
Hi tbear! I've only been on a for a little bit, but I haven't seen her :)
tbear, I was thinking about Jac too. I haven't seen her and I've been here since, well, this afternoon!
babbler - do you have the te5/10 meaning short, curt? more te5/10. Most te5/10.
I'm such an idiot! I've been poring over those for hours! I need another te6/18, one of the three at the end of the list. I have goolies, and exam-on. Need the third. Thanks, Charm! : )
allstart- did you get the me7/36 words?
After playing this game for over a year, this is the first time I can say I am getting tired of looking for words and I just hit the 300 mark!!!

Anj, may I have clues for the st8/40s please? (I need more, but at least they'll start me off!) ty : )
be7/40 insert letter in 3rd position in following be6

babbler- i have a st8/50- if you need it
OK.. st5/10 - bottom bit of plant - swap the M for an N and add a hoop st6/18 - whack it with the plural fish st8/40 - whack it with the plural fish again...
Thank you...
st8/40 (second one) s + prefix meaning three + past tense of eat, plural
kristin brings up an interesting question about which i have been wondering... does dr_god design the puzzles or are they just computer generated?
st5/10 - think, take your clothes off, and replace the P with an A st6/18 - put an E on the end st7/28 - drop a T in before the E st8/40 - whack it with the plural fish
Hurshy, random generated as far as i'm aware
you reading my mind, Anj?? LOL!! thx for all the clues, my Kitty Cats! :D
well i hope ye olde random generator doesn't give us another long one until sunday!

I've got 230 words left to find so i better get cracking.
*snorts* just found it ! lol!
hey angelprincess - puzzle wise, it doesn't make that much difference as we can get stats from babblers anon. but by going pro, you are supporting the future of babble. and you get to put up a pretty picture.
Good question...don't see why not. It's an automatic programme so unless Dr G declares a festive amnesty we will be wishing each other Joyeux Noel while we wonder how to use up what's left of the turkey : )
speaking of turkey - it's so warm here everyone around us appears to be bbq'ing their birds for tomorrow - we even have some neighbors who have a disco strob going and they're dancing on the patio
Can't we ask him for a day off......rehab......as long as we promise to return on boxing day...Hang on..not fair, what about people who don't celebrate xmas...forget it,just being selfish
Anj You are up late tonight..just trying to help us dear friend!:)

Speed i'm trying to hunt down an icon for tomorrow's j-rock theme : )
Babbler It is 8:25 pm here for me what time is it for you can never get that straight
I'm sorry, Anj - what's tomorrow's theme?
thank you soooo much Charm! :) dreaded se's now......... *shudders*
Anj The way I am so slow changing icons I might not get to that if I ever even finish this puzzle!! Might be like CathyB and just put a rock and say it came from Japan LOL
speed, it's about 1.40am (middle of the night!) : )
Speedfreak...bet that was fun...well Spain isn't quite as exotic but as I was brought up there and half the family are still there,I love it for a change.Last Xmas decided to stay at home with my girls, who promptly left me straight after xmas dinner to do their own things upstairs and I spent the rest of the day alone with a bottle of Baileys and the tv...Not really Xmas
Charm, I'm the Theme Queen. Check my bio..... :D
Minski: I live on the So. Shore (Plymouth)..we still had white on the ground this afternoon..my son came home from college Fitchburg State and he said they didn't get any Hopefully tomorrow it will be up North, but then again high school football in the rain is just as bad
Babbler - you lost me on that theme! lol Shall we do a 'dog' day to balance out the kitty day?
Anj,Joelgee mentioned earlier that this themeing is very distracting. Can't we do it once a week or something,or am i being a party pooper...?
what say all? a dog day soon, after Kitty Day today? all who agree, say Aye :D
Charm, google dir en grey and pick a pic :
If not...can we have fat bottoms on bikes...in which case..I'm ready...refresh
yes babbler - i love doggies too - you're our fearless leader 8)
tbear: that ruins the holidays to be alone even though Baileys helps just about all..we have such a large close family noone is ever alone, we travel together and hang out together, all cousins very close as well
Bear, you're being a party pooper ! I think Joel was being ironic : )
puppy dogs!
Dog day gets my vote too : )
AYE to doggie day soon I am more of a dog lover myself but all animals are great
What, no turkies in honor of our US Thanksgiving Day! :-(
doesn't our prez pardon them?
Jo A few from the US said they might do turkeys but since it was only our holiday they didn't want to push that on anyone else but I'm sure all our friends won't mind is we do turkeys
Speedfreak...i had other options, just thought it would be nice to gather my girls to me,before they fly away...but..wasted my time....At the moment I don't really exist as an individual and should stop trying where they're concerned. They come back when they're ready.
hmm, i think so renfield
i think they were doing the j-rock theme for miyavi_fan(sp?) because she got beat up at school today.
We live in Stoneham. By 9am the snow was over and gone. We are going to Rhode Island and Hingham tomorrow so I am hoping the snow and rain are both light. Otherwise the traffic will be a nightmare. Of course the longer the drive the longer the baby's nap between houses so I guess I shouldn't complain. We go to my hubby's family for dinner in Rhode Island and my family for dessert in Hingham. It's always fun but a lot of driving.
Then, I might do a turkey ... if I get any play time all!
how do you get the pics?
tbear: Big hug for you!! How old are your girls?? hopefully they will smarten up and realize a mother can never be replaced!!
beebee you mean miya got in a 'cat' fight?
Go Pro, Hilary! :-)
hey fellow massachusetts-ites, plymouth here, home of the original thanlsgiving!!!

Speed, I told you I'm from Plymouth over here didn't I??
I've done ok with the first half of the SE list, but I'm struggling with the second. Any pointers for me please? ty : )
i'm not sure cat fight is the right word- she has a black eye and didn't fight back. a guy friend of hers got the other girl away.
Babbler/Anj...is it j-rockers (whatever they are??) or turkeys in honour of thanksgiving.....Miy did get the banana thing....What's it to be?

*gasp* Miya really got beaten up???? *sob*
Too bad we couldn't do an exchange our Plymouth visits your Plymouth My sister lives in Bedford, Mass and their soccer team had a sister team in Bedford England and their whole team and parents went for 10 days.
GREAT icon, tbear!! It's Japanese Day tomorrow. for Miya. ;)
anj, plymouth england? where my ancestors originated before coming to plymouth massachusetts
maybe y'all shouldn't put up themed icons- as kristin said, they caused a "cat"fight.
Babbler - what do you need? on the grid??
We had relatives come over on the Mayflower maybe we are related!! (you notice I keep typing messages to avoid the words) SSHHHH
I don't think I have anything after the sun goes down... :/
speed, there is a plymouth exchange. some of our town folk just got back not too long ago and periodocally they come here
I'm missing one of the last two ce5,6 pairs but i don't know which.
didn't get sp. for nap?
I'll never finish this ... I'm too focused on Television and 7-year old. But, this has been so fun to fiddle with all day. Is there any hope for me to get the 12 letter being only halfway thru?
shu-oor we could be related as my relatives came over on the same shhh-ip !
well aknitter maybe we can do a babble exchange visit? as far as theme icons they are fun if you don't want to participate then you don't have to
bab, se5/10 -se6/18 -se6/18 se5/10 (take or grab) change the z to s. for the other two add to the ending
Babbler, two se words arter the sun going down one. Where a badger lives and the plural : )
a babble exchange would be fun
hi! not trying to be antisocial... but busy cooking and baking for tomorrow and sneaking in a few words here and there. did I miss anything????
ne12 - when my 3yo forgets he has to go potty, it ne12 a change of clothing. (means needs, demands) ne11 is singular.
Mama, you missed a memo for Friday's theme - dog/puppy day! : )
Mamabear: would we chat w/o you??
babbler, yes si***, bob, you gotta try harder.
That sounds like fun!!! Is it taken for granted then that tomorrow is Turkey Day???
Smeltz, they are all related to the greek belt The first one ends in A plural AS 2nd set ends in i plural OS (no i)
speedfreak.... ummmmmmm..... yeah!
Hey, MamaB!

tbear hope you feel better soon ((xx))
nite tbear! hope you're feeling better soon
Charm, don't have much of a "crew". The only family I have is my sister and she is a vegetarian and doesn't want to come. I will make dinner for just my family and then do a "meals on wheels" over to my inlaws - they usually have Thanksgiving, but my mother in law is going through cancer treatment and is not up to it this year. So will pack up food and take it over for them.
pls could I have clues for the big se words, further down the list? ty so much ! :)

My mother is in N. Mich, told me the same tale. She is on Lake Huron. Hooray for lake effect!!
Mamabear ~ That is so funny. I made chocolate peanut butter cheesecake bars also. I got the recipe from a baking magazine that Nestle sent me in the mail. I also made swirled surprise cookies from that mag. They both came out great!
thanks mary! now i have someone to blame! my parents in MA always blame me for sending snow to them...
yep, Jo, the sunrise side is getting blasted
I feel bad for you and my mother! :-( I'm SUFFERING under mild 50 degree temps at the mo ...
Leslie Ann just wanted to find a martini theme and Brian was just a given!
minski - that's the SAME recipe I made!!!! LOL - I haven't tried them, but they look good!
mica- take the be4/6 that is yummy to drink and add 4 letters to the end(the most) it doesn't look or sound like it should be a word
yeah whose leg do i have to hump to get a dry martini around here?
anybody... anybody!! :P any clue for be8/50? pleaseeee :)
Ahhh, Leslie ... my fav line from Family Guy, LOL.
Sorry, I'm a cosmo girl
I'm one of those strange people who love the weather changes, I was blowing the leaves off the lawn while the snow was coming down today.
thanks beebee
mica, do you have the be4/6, if so add a superalitve ending. the be4/6 that has to do with alcohol.
speed, how you doing? I have 136 left to find.. :/
MamaBear ~ They are bars. Noone will know the difference if you try one ahead of time. Go for it. They are really good.
be 8/50 - take the be 4 above it and make it the most be** it can possibly be.
micamonkey-did you get the be8/50
I need help with tr8x2 and tr9x2, please
I live in New England because my family is here but also because I love it. I love the 4 seasons and the weather changes. I love skiing and swimming and gardening and collecting leaves. I don't have a favorite season. I love all of them.
Need some help for the following: re 6/21 and re 7/32 above the re 8/60 of memories and the re 8/40 below what you pay for an apartment

Those 3 are the last 3 I need for this beast. Clues welcomed.
gordon bennet Anj!!!!! mind reader extraordinaire !! :D
allstart- kids fav part of school re6/21 -re8/45 the plural
re6/21 - re + m4 (to join someone, to be introduced) re7 is pl.
ne 11/96
yeah.. anj rocks
re8/40 - re + fall/winter/spring/summer (if your gravy doesn't have enough salt, you have to re8 it)
re6/18 with an errrrr makes a re8/40 and the re7/18 with a plural makes re8/40
ne11 - v. "To make needed or unavoidable. To require or compel." ne12 is present tense. based on ne* is the mother of invention.
thor, don't forget to grab the ne 12/117
Babbler I am down to 39 words..they are all t's but made an extra apple pie so family is going to have apple pie ala mode right now bbl:)

Mwah! A big kiss goes to Anj. Thanks so much for the hints on the S words.
singing, of course! Have I told you lately, that I care?
bravo allstart !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
*Anj sniffs to see if someone slyly squirted him with Aramis* Y/w folks : D
we should tell babbler that the next theme day should be anj day in appreciation
Anj.... this one hurt. I owe my finish to Charm. She saved me big time as my brain had reached a crispy stage.
oh wait, babbler's still here. you hear that, babbler?
noted LeslieAnn!! and it would be my pleasure !!! :D
very welcome, allstart!
which reminds me, what's the icon du jour for Thanksgiving????? Or is that self explanatory? I have an auspicious turkey hat I could wear!
Anj - se4/4 prophet?? don't gettit.... :/
Still seeking clues for the tr8x2 and tr9x2. Help, please.
Mamabear, is it a japanese rocker turkey?
ooooh oooh!! Anj - what would you like for The Anj Appreciation Day? I figure you should choose icons you might like to gaze at........... : )
tr8 - "The 14th century, especially with reference to Italian art and literature." tr9 is pl. tr (meaning 3) + penny + vowel
peri - one of the tr 8 is obvious if you leave in a geography in the U.S. that is near say NJ, NY and PA. or CA, AZ, and NV, or any other group of 3 of these .
tr9 - tr5 (meaning hair) + suffix meaning the most.
Thanks for the SE list Anj. It took me a while but I got them all. I had about 1/2 already. Needed the fish for a few. (insert eyes rolling smilie here)
I'm all out of japanese rocker turkeys.... damn
se4/4, tr8x2 and tr9x2 what does that mean?
minski, what was the se4/4 prophet? :/
se4/4 - a 4-letter word, beginning with 'se', worth 4 points.
what is this langauge you guys speak?
please, any clues for ta 6/ 18 ta 7/ 28? not one of the 5 senses
Me! Me! pick Me! No, hang on...not good : / OK, my theme day is fractals : ) Can't play until Monday after tomorrow though, and then not again until Friday : (
boogerface ta 6/18 means the word starts with ta, has 6 letters and is worth 18 points, for example
Hey all! Baby is currently babbling herself to sleep so I get to work on upping my word count for a bit... :D Mama - love the Felix icon!
what day would you like, Anj? You pick :)
Babbler ~ If you haven't found it yet you will want the fishie. It is a word that is in many grids. Double the middle vowel and add a consonent to the end then pluralize it.
ta6/18 - pl. of the Idaho ta5 tots
Hey GW! Haven't "seen" you for a few days!!! Going through woulf withrdrawal!!! Not a pretty picture.
ohhhhhh thanks!!
Go for the Monday then. Should brighten things up : )
Monday to be Anj Appreciation Day. All who agree, say Aye !! :D
erm charm, i dont follow :S
ta6 - ta3 (meaning to make lace) + men's neckwear.
aye!
I know, Mama -- been suffering similarly re: bears -- zi haven't been able to get on early enough to catch you ;)
aye
I'm having issues with the last 2 AT words. The AT 6/18 and the AT 7/28. Any assistance would be appreciated.
is the me10 hard to find, or am i just not seeing it for looking?
More clues st5/10 - rock st6/18 - rocking the ganj st7/28 - passing it round st6/18 - Rolling S...... (Brown Sugar)
still confused, minski........ : (
micamonkey - are you not from the states. The state product of Idaho. Chop it up, shape them, fry them and make ta5 tots. ta6 is pl.
anj, I got stuck on the se4/4 prophet.... :/
This is so unnerving. Everytime I think I"m doing really well I check my score against the stats and I still have 202 words left to find. Is the bar still opened? I need a drink.
Minski - at 6/18 - if you're dressed in a tux your in some snappy at****. Then pl.
Only sneak babbling from work Monday and yesterday - never made it back on either night when I got home. And now THIS monster....
hmm... is jack daniels good with canada dry?
Yep! This monster... you shoudl have seen the reaction at the flip -- it was amusing to say the least :D
thanks charm got it! gawd im slow :P
Minski, clothes, as in 'you're not wearing the proper at....' Could be Michelin Man lol :) Babbler, se4 prophet, fortune teller, uses 'eyes' to look into the future...
babbler - to foretell, vision is the hint-hint.
You can read it in the log now, but it loses something after the fact
I declare next Monday's theme to be Fractals, for Anj Appreciation Day. (biog updated) :D
Babbler ~ The definition is "A clairvoyant. A prophet."
erm, what the heck is a fractual?
ty minski :D
Oh yes. Jack and ginger. Pass one over here please. Make it a double.
Peri, just type fractal into Google It's a pic generated by a recurring mathematical formula
on the rocks? going to get the jd... lol
peri - fractal. they're those lovely abstract icons Anj and Lola usually have. I'm sure there must be a whole load in google images. (haven't looked myself yet!) :)
me10 - something you do to cotton fabric (based on the me9) takes off on the me6 - composer/singer Johnny me6 (remember midnight in the garden of good & evil).
I finally finished a letter. The As!!
Me too, Minksi!!!
On the rocks with a wedge of lime please.
thanks for the clues... and lime sounds good!
any tequila to go with that lime???? put a lime in the coconut and shake eet all up!!!
Thanks, found both tr8 and one of the tr9. Need help with me10 please
marigold are you playing?
en 7/28??? please
en7 - pl of "A slight convexity or swelling, as in the shaft of a column, intended to compensate for the illusion of concavity resulting from straight sides."
well i am going to do something i think may be a tad unheard of... I am going to stop at 100 words
not unheard of at all doc!!!!! have a good nite!
thank you Charm!
yum
wow - i didn't know that's what a fractal was - cool
Anything vodka-related, double or better, rocks . . Thank you.
Now that I had a nice visit with the family, homemade apple pie with ice cream I am ready to finish the t's 36 words and I am done!!
been to a few addictive sites before (yep even non-porn) I have a mastery of my cyberwill... muahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa aaaaaaaa
docvoodoo - You'll be back. We know. Just give in.
good evening all
Hey torgone - Love the Krazy Kat image! any clues for the be7/40 and 6/27, please?
Oh my gosh!!!!! I got them all...I'm finished!!!!!
hey doxy!!!!!
docvoodoo - you are one of us now, otherwise you wouldn't have commented about stopping ;)
stillcrazy..... no wonder your cat looks like that!!! congrats!!!! I can't believe people are actually finishing this thing.
Stillcrazy: AWESOME!!!
just got home from work. Going to try and get a few words before bedtime.
Sorry GW. I have neither of those.
Good for you, stillcrazy!!
ty ty ty......I'm so excited!
bravo stillcrazy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
im missing my 3rd se4/5 any help? i got the two with similar alphabets
stilcrazy - AWESOME!!!!!! Congrats!!!
You rock stillcrazy!!!
what's this ENABLE dictionary you often mention, Anj? And where can i get one?
be 7 - take the be 4/4 that you drink.. remove one vowel... add things aren't always as they se**.... spelled with a double vowel. for the be 6 - take out the ending consonant of the be 4/4 drink
Thx, tor--- I was actually asking everyone, just trying to kill two messages in one post :)
Babbler, I think I put the link in the toolbox on BabsAnon : )
Thanks MAMA! (*hug*)
I do that too, GW... saves a stamp!
You GOT them, GW?/?? I was expecting a "huh?" response....
thx Anj.......... I tried to download it whatever once before, but it wouldn't work..... : /
MAMA - you know that we tend to think on the same wavelength ;)
se6/21 next to ssssshhh not telling? ty
Done with the Bs!!
And now the B's are done!!
In THAT case, what's the last be 6/24?
be6/24 = be + st4/4
se4/5 anybody? i think im looking for the 1st or 2nd se4/5 on the list
be + what you do with a spoon in coffee
thank you!
Oh my! I only have 11 ce's out of 25
Hey everybody.
mica, it would se** you don't have all your se words yet : ) try swapping the last two letters round too also try abbreviation for seconds (as in time)
Hi ohrom!
hi ohrom!!!!
OMG! I just looked at the word total and started laughing. ............yeah.........there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that I will finish this puzzle.
I was gonna say something about THAT, but thought I'd let you be surprised!!!!
Same here ohrom and I was here for the flip! Unless I cave and run over to a2z later on...
ohrum - it's pretty much reduced me to a gibbering wreck, I can say that right now! : ) roflol !!! :D
i forgot what i was doing - this is a wild one
lol Mama. : ) So mama, GW, are you guys gearing up for a big day of turkey-eating and such? I am going to the parade tomorrow so I am super-psyched.
how about a clue for the ce8's please?
finally found one of the me9
Ohrom, I surely will not finish as I cannot sustain any kind of focus. The grid is so big I am both intimidated and bored.
please may I have a clue for se6/21 next to ssssshhh not telling, pls? ty
lol babbler. hang in there. It will be over soon. : )
ohrom - we're going over to friends tomorrow to do the whole turkey thing...
thanks babbler, the time one did the trick :)
Some days you get the bear; Some days the bear gets you.
I just got it myself a few seconds earlier ! : )
ohrom - back when I was living in Rockland county I had friends who actually got to be in the parade as clowns!
pretty much ohrom!!! I got out of work early and did some baking and cooking (sweet potatoes, fresh cranberry sauce, etc)..... no parade here ! too cold!
Thet're actually talking about snow for Thanksgiving here in PA -- at most an inch, but then later it will turn into rain
torgone..... want bear to get you????? LOL
Mab: good luck. I get intimidated and bored when there are 200 words. : ) Hey--yesterday I logged on and everyone ad a bunch of bananas for their icon so I changed to a bunch of bananas. Today I log on and everyone showed up dressed as a cat today. Is there something on babbler's anon which states the dress code?
babbler's profile
ohrom - you need to check Babblers bio on a regular basis -- she is in charge of the dress code :)
I could be gotten pretty easily right now . . .
Babbler, do you think you will finish this hideous thing? I cannot focus on it and keep stopping to do other things, like read a book, etc.
What I would like right now is a good clue for the oe7
Mama: that sounds good. I will start driving now. I should be to Chicago by mid-morning. lol : ) And by the way, it is too cold for a parade here too but the luckily, many new york tourists are stupid and like to stand outside when it is -20 degrees below freezing. : ) GW: NYC is supposed to get snow. That aught to improve everyone's mood. lol Did you have to work today or did they let you have a much-needed refuge?
mab - I don't think I will, you know : / I still have 125 to find. I'm sure the Anj The Magnificent has flaked by now (not being a proper insomniac like me!!). What to do??
oe7 - brit spelling for a female hormone.
Ah, more of Torgone's favorite wisdom. The bear shall get me today. I like your krazy kat icon; it suits you better, I think.
LOL Mab!! Well, today, I've done housework, laundry, dusting, cooked (!!), .......... and I was just browsing Ban Anon just now for Anj's ENABLE link. LOL! :D
oe 7 - oe + a kite s****g (but don't use the g)
Thank you!
Everyone is invited to my place tomorrow. We're brining a 22 pound bird, and chef has a passel of side dishes and desserts planned. There will be PLENTY.
Ooo, 151 left for me. Not promising.
Ohrom - I'm the Theme Queen.. Check my biog ..! : D
you beat my turkey by 3 pounds, Torgone!
torg - have you crossed the finish line?
Just passed the half-way point, ren. My spirit is crushed.
marigold, are you here?
ohrom - of course I had to work, and I have to work fri and sat as well... nothing like retail to show how much your bosses care...
You are so talented torgone. I would surely drop in if there weren't all those other states in between.
i'm only at 157 - repeat - it's only a game......right?
*mamabear runs over to torgone, picking him clear off the floor and swings him around hitting his head on the ceiling fan - sorry about that - screaming "do not let your spirit be crushed by this cursed puzzle - DO NOT" and then puts him down and holds small of her back thinking " that was NOT a good idea"........*
Hey all - took a 3-hour nap and maybe I"m ready to finish this thing.
Yes, renfield, it is only a game... it it turns into anything else, the joy will be lost :)
GW: sounds decidedly sucky. Your schedule, I mean.
hey Mamabear - my spirit is kinda crushed too *babs braces herself* :D
poor torgs head -
oh - and poor mama's back!
Chef (my daughter) is handling most of the process. I just pop in and help where I can. I cook fairly well, but she owns the kitchen tomorrow.
ROTFLMAO, Mama. Hi Griffums! GW: my condolences on your lack of time off. : ( If it makes you feel any better, I work every day this week (including tomorrow) and also the weekend. I am on calll so I don't have to go into work but I will have to work from home. I think we should quit our jobs and just play babble all day. : )
the only bright side to my schedule, mab, is that not too many people are buying glasses at this time of the year ;) As a matter of fact, my store is the only one in the mall that does not have to maintain those stupid extended hours everyone else does, so I still get to see my daughter at night :)
"mamabear takes a fast acting vicadin, runs over to Babbler... lifts her high, ducking under ceiling fan, hugs her wildly and screams "do not fear, mamabear is here"..........*
*babs squeals with delight* Again!! Again !! :D
Hi folks and hope all from US have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
ohro, I agree with you. I'm ready to quit
Torgone you spirit must be uplifted now. Too bad about that mild concussion. (Just set your alarm clock for every 20 minutes tonight)
Not the first time I've been hurled into a ceiling fan . . (Ooowww) . ..Reminds me of an old joke: "Have you ever been picked up by the fuzz?" . .
Does anyone need a hint?
ohrom - unfortunately, society would punish us for doing so... however, if I ever hit the lottery...
yeh Cheese, do you think my hair needs washing?? ; )
clues for the no8 please
Wassa punchline tor?
You finished, Cheesenip? *ohro bows down and starts chanting "I'm not worthy"*
Hi Cheesenips!!! Hint? Hint? do we need a HINT???? I think not... more like we need a freakin NEON sign that says "stop the madness" !!!!!!!!!
Babby dunno-- are ya sposed to be a DIRTY blonde? hehe
sorry tor.... ummmmm.... you might want to put some ice on that before it swells to the size of Rhode Island
lol Cheese! you finished? bravo Cheesenips !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
OK MamaBear Calm Down Repeat after me It is just a game...It is just a game...it is just a game....
no8 is plural of the no6/18! easy game, aint it?
I'm with Ohrom!!! Quit work!!!! Reminds me of a song.... (uh-oh's from the crowd)..... "I don't want to work... I just want to bang on the keyboard all day..."
Did Anj say goodnight? Or has he nodded off at his PC? Anj?? *looks everywhere*
"No, but I've been swung around by the ti4/4 a few times.."
slow day at the office---- boss flew home to NYC yesterday--- used a2z of course
speed - that's not how to handle it... here MAMA, drink this (*hands MAMA rum and coke*)
I got a late start today and with so many words I'll never finish. I'm at 290. Must get some sleep so I can get up early and start the cooking. To all have a Happy Thanksgiving.
ROFLMAO... torgone!!!!!!
G'nite Mary! A valiant effort worthy of great praise!
ahhhhh.....GW........ you KNOW what I like!!!! (reminds me of another song... Chantilly Lace, and a pretty face, pony tail, hanging down.....)
I'm more worried about Mama's back. Do you nomally lift things the size of wool-producing farm animals???
Sorry Mama - I cut off the pony tail about 8 years ago ;)
need help with o's please. have the Brit spelling of female hormone. what am I missing
*ohro starts clearing her throat and making 'ahem" noises so that GW will notice that she doesn't have a rum and coke. Ohro does the same to mama in order to get a free vicodin*
g'nite Mary - Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!!!
Vicodin AND rum and coke, ohrom???? hmmmm.... would we be interested in sleeping through Thanksgiving, now, dear?
The no 6/18 is an extension of the no 4/4.
CE 8/45? Both of them? Also the last ce 6/21.
Oh my, only have three of the A words :(
(*hands ohrom rum and coke*) Careful there, ohrom -- vicodin and r&c can be a lethal combo -- esp how I mix drinks!
well, Tor, I usually try to hold off on that kind of lifting until Friday nite when I don't have to work the next day, but seeing as tomorrow is a holiday, I made an allowance.... and don't be so sheepish - just say what's on your mind!
harpjane the last ce 6/21 is a mineral--- i know that will give you the ending
Hi everyone...just in for a quick chat...been making pies for tomorrow & still have a bit more to do...plus - this one is a DOOZY - no way I'd ever finish now!
may I have clues for the Ce8's please
hi EB
GW - another please? you mix a mean R & C
Thanks for the R&C, GW. I promise to not take the vicodin until the next time that there is a puzzle with 400 flippin' words. : )
I think sheer adrenalin will carry Mama through. Are you divulging that you resemble a ram, torgone. Oo, double concussion -- you've been hit in the back of the head with a brick. Could actually be therapeutic. So what's punchline to fuzzy joke? Hmmmmm?
Hi EB.... and HI Griffums... I didn't see you come in!!! *bad mamabear*
I QUIT! I admit I'm a weak willed wuss. I'm unworthy of the grid god. Sometimes knowing your weaknesses is the 1st step. The 2nd step is going to bed. third, sleep soundly thru the nite. 4th stsnnnnnoooooooorrrrrrrrrreee. See ya!
(*refills Mama's glass*) So who else wants a hit?
this dial-up is driving me nuts
he already gave the punchline!!!!! that he was swung around by the ti 4/4's once!
LOL Mab.
Poor gramma, you probably feel like that poor little kitten looks.
gramma, lol on the icon & rant -- have a good night and a great tomorrow!
hi grif - hi eb - i can't see anything - had to put on my specs - colors blending together
ce 8/45 - suppose your favorite penny caught a disease, it might be called ce 8/45 except that the horrible disease changed a vowel!
do not fret, gramma. in a few short hours this grid will be archived and nobody will admit to ever having seen it anyway!!!!
thought if maybe this was a small one, I could jump in but I just wanted to say a quick hello...and Happy Thanksgiving to anyone celebrating tomorrow...off to the in-laws for the day so I won't be babbling until Friday....
All I'm trying to say is that I'm not an easy lift. When I step on a scale, It says, "Hey! One at a time!" Punchline at 9:35.
gramma = you did better than me - i didn't even start!!
Mab, self portrait? or kitty making snow angel? or road kill? whatever I'm sooo done.
HI EB !!!!!!! have a lovely day tomorrow, luvvie :D
Hey there Griff -- saw you come in, but a little distracted at the mo -- how much do you have left? EB -- Great to see you, even if you can't stay!
thanks Babs... See you all Friday! Luv, EB
happy thanksgiving eb - enjoy your day
......... if I get 5 more words, I'll break the 300 barrier........ probably teh most I've ever got....
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, EB!!! Will be cooking to beat the band tomorrow and then back to work on Friday...
Hey EB. Any snow yet?
Oh you were wise not to begin, EB. Look at your icon! That's one happy kitty!
Still 83 to go but a number of them are verb forms that I missed. Not sure I can make it. Tried a2z but clearly I am missing the web-word-aid gene because I can't figure out how that would be really useful esp in a time crunch.
Easternblue, you're in the puzzle and your brilliant for not starting. Note to self: "no more babble..... evil babble..."
That's awesome, Babbler!! I only have 238 and will have to quit soon....
It's actually only (slightly)funny if you imagine a man asking the question to a woman . . . Olde-timey misogynistic humor..
maybe that's why I understood it!!!!!
I don't get it, but that's okay. For the best.
ce 8/45 - give a penny to your female sibling but first, stick a vowel in the middle
(mab, i think they mean fuzz in the dirty way!)
Babbler - we're tied at the mo!
I don't a2z except on the rare occasion that I feel truly driven. I don;t like it for some reason.
are we, GW !! cool! I'm utterly blinded by this grid. It's overwhelming. The worst I've ever seen. *shakes head in disbelief*
does everyone now have ce 8/45 after my hints? who else needs a hint?
I take it that no one was able to talk Jamie into making "fest" an official babble word. I keep trying it night after night and babble keeps telling me that it isn't a word, night after night.
mab - I have come to agree with you there -- a victory driven by a2z is hollow in a way... partly because by using it, the whole human element of the game vis a vis the chat log is avoided :)
Did it for me, Cheesenips!!! Thanks! how about the lo8/40?
some me7s would be great, Cheese, if that's ok? : )
ohro, i agree it should be a word as well. along with aint (no matter what the dictionary says!)
So am I better for being too stupid to figure out how to use it? Praps. Back to the monkeys.
Mamabear, you know that fab show of the stranded people on an island? lo4/4, begins with that, then add the Loch n*** Monster in Scotland to the end....
lo 8/40 was hinted multiple times earlier--- many complaints that this word is even allowed--- the condition of not knowing where one is!
Hey all, just popping back to say goodnight and, well, same time, same place, a day later then lol : ) Happy Thanksgiving for tomorrow : D
418 Words Done Finished No Brain Cells left, drool sliding down my chin body stuck in one position, fingers, hands, wrists, aching but I am DONE To all a Happy Thanksgiving and to all else A Happy Thursday
nite Anj!! thought you'd fallen asleep at your desk!! lol! sweet dreams, mate : )
Wow speed!
ohro - Dr_G has no control over it. To simplify the game and eliminate disputes, he chose the ENABLE dictionary as the final authority on accepted words. Whoever controls the ENABLE dictionary is the one with the power to update.
Sleep Anj. Thank you for all those lovely se's.
mama take your lo4/4 and add 4 letters to the end.( loch____ monster)
WOW Speed !!!!!!! Bravo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks Babbler & Cheesenips! I apologize - did not realize it had been clued before....
Bravo speed!!
Hey Anj! Torgone: ...everything is starting to make sense now.

We are me7s of our club! Thank you for this beautiful me7 of our recent event (like a souvenir)
i'm still confused - i think i'll put on my rae bans - to bright

beebee - it was babbler that asked for the me 7's....
Speed you are amazing! Multitasker of the Year!
Goodnight, speedfreak. Have a nice holiday tomorrow.
Speed, I'm trying to beat my sleeping patterns into obeying GMT : / ...or at least paying lip service to a european time zone. I'm stuck on Babbletime at the mo and it's feels like I should be living in NZ or something equally unlikely... : )
sorry, i'm very tired
good nite speed - have a good day tomorrow
noprob Mama-- huge log today cuz it's so hard
Well, I think I will join the ranks of the nitey-nites.... congrats to all of you who remain for the next few hours and slay this beast!! Sleep well and bear hugs to all... sweet dreams and Happy Thanksgiving! GW - how about an R&C for the long road to the shower?
WTG speed!!! HUZZAH!!!
nite mama b - enjoy your day tomorrow -
Good night MAMA - have a great day tomorrow!! (*refills glass one more time*) (*HUG*)
Goodnight, Mama. Have a great holiday tomorrow.
that's ok bee bee - I just didn't want you to think I was ignoring you by not answering. At this point I don't give a flying fig for the me's anymore!!!!! *is that thunder I hear?*
Oh Mama have a happy happy day tomorrow. (Save some pie)
Nitey-nite Mama. Sleep well. Hope your back isn't broken.
Not broken... just a little confused.
*waves sad bye bye to Mamabear* :'(
me7 - dealers in textiles-- the singular is key to several longer words
(*hugs Babbler to raise spirits*)
Do not be sad, Babbler!!!!!! *mamabear picks up .... ok.... maybe not.... mamabear gently dances with babbler around the room, swinging and dipping her until she is giddy*
*babs head spins in a really fabaroony way* *giggles* : D
me7 - variant spelling of a word usually spelled with a z, but not this time-- a person of mixed blood, usually including Spanish and Indian heritage
*ohro takes down ceiling fan to avoid another "incident".*
ok, so who's gonna give me 4 juicy words, so I can go get a shower and wash my hair? Purrrrrdy pleeez ?? *bats lashes, cos sometimes it works..*
That's better! Mamabare could not sleep knowing babbler is sadly waving......
thanks for the hug, GW ! *hugs* : )
me7 - plural of a stone block- if something changes genetically, it might also change its first vowel ;
*Babs watches sadly as Mamabear makes her way home*
I'll take over for you Mamabear. Comforting Babbler, I mean.
I am missing the 2nd and 3rd CE words. ce 6/ 21 ce 7/ 32 Please help.
Well, it's time for the secret weapon.
*turns to Tor-Tor expectantly* : )
I have now clued all five me7s. Who needs a clue on another word?
ce6/21 - "A water-filled limestone sinkhole of the Yucatán." *sounds* like slang for $100 bill.
What is the secret weapon, Griffums? (although if you tell us, it will be a not-a-secret weapon)
OK, the corner E's are driving me nuts -- how are theree 15 (!) of them -- I have the fire remains, master of ceremonies, and the em4 (inc. plurals)-- what are the rest?
Minski ce 6/21 is how you would say a slang term for your $100 bill! Then, plural for the 7.
Cheesy, honey, how about the ec5 and 8 -- I'm just curious.
em5 - man's name. Em5 Walsh. em6 is pl.
Yes, but it will only be my weapon (at least tonight)... :D We have a FANTASTIC candy company here called Alaska Wild Berry Products. (You should go to their website and buy their stuff.)* They really do use wild fruit in their chocolates. Delish. Anyway, this fruit is not an Alaska one, but I have just....opened... a whole 8oz bag of Dark Chocolate Cabernet Cherries. This ain't your maraschino cordials. I just can't believe the goodness..........mmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmm *I am not a paid or unpaid endorser of AK Wild Berry Products, though I think this message should be worth SOMETHING!
share griff 8)
mab ec5 is a true Babble word: The successful establishment of a plant or animal species in a habitat. Hmmmm.... trying to think how to clue it
em6 - 2 variants of the act of vomiting.
Griff -- give, give, give! please, please, pleaase!! My mouth is watering already, they sound absolutely decadent :D
That sounds delish, Griffums. I have a secret weapon called "cheetoes".
Thanks. Now working on the CRs. How about the CR7 and CR8?
ec5 - kill your female sibling, then cover your tracks by changing the first vowel
They ARE. I got these when I took my mom tourist-hopping before her flight East. I had no idea these would be so good or they would have been gone a week ago! The cherries are juicy and sour and the cabernet is smooth and the chocolate is smokey...and omg... okay back to the grid sorry but these are an Experience
Thanks cheese, I'll noodle with it.
oh griffs - thats cruel - all i have are week old twizzlers and fruit pops
www.alaskawildberryproducts.co m, ren :D
oh - cheetos - orangie fingers and all - wish i had some
cr7: A metal cup, often suspended on a pole, containing burning oil or pitch and used as a torch.
Well, I guess I will make do with the fresh baked pumpkin pie that was just handed to unless my cat steals it from me first!
I could do with some Chee-tos too! (is that how you spell it?)
got it griffs - will go on line and order some - fedex over nite am delivery
ren - I have a friend who eats his cheetos with chopsticks just so he can avoid the orange finger syndrome!
Hi again! I'm back to try and finish!
now that is a great idea
Cheetos with chopsticks? Cheesticks? Choptoes?
*ohro starts passing out bags of cheetoes to interested babblers*
cr7 alternate clue: a tiny piece of a very low calorie green vegetable, of which sandwiches are sometimes made for tea in the UK?
Thanks Cheesenips
wow - great idea! i can eat cheetos any way i can get them
Tip bag into mouth, no hands at all...
please don't take the bag away from me
Cheesenips are better than Cheetos--- but I happily eat whichever ones are available, free ;
*babs begs for crumbs*
Cheesenip: If you eat cheesenips, is that cannabalism?
Here ren, I'll trade you the cherries NO I WON'T - what was I thinking?
Who needs a clue? Gotta leave soon, get your requests in
The ne's are my nemesis and for a change I checked the grid before I put that nemesis word in there and got my fanny spanked for grid exposure.
ohro: hmmmm.... wondering why i only have one leg lately
cheesenips are wonderful as well - i carry them in my roy rogers lunch box - the whole box
The Untouchables - Elliott Ne4/4.
renfield Now that is the RIGHT way to live
ne6 - pl. of the Elliot Ne4.
cheesenips - is it dark inside the lunch box?
lol cheesenips.
Yeah, I just got him... okay they're done. I got the bigbutt ne words last night.
never dark here in SoCal--- so we say until you have actually CLOSED on your house
Charm - thank - you down to three missing E's from the corner
My last C word that I am missing is a CR 6/24. It is the 4th CR word. Please help.
it's a plural Min
em5/14 - "A Eurasian wheat (Triticum dicoccum) first cultivated by the Babylonians and now widely grown as a cereal grain and as livestock feed." There's an SUV by GM called H2, H3. em6 is pl.
Minski: cr6 brulees. Is that it?
yes but I don't see how to pluralize it
em4 - *sounds* like pl. letters 'm'
but it took it so who's complaining? not me.
gotta go-- happy holidays all
I finally have 300 words........... admitting defeat now. see you all at post time probably !! :D
G'Nite Cheesenips - have a happy T-Giving!
Bye babbler, cheesenips. Have a nice holiday.
nite-nite, babbler. better luck tomorrow!
now I see it. I was going up and with the word and not down. Time for me to go to bed. It is 11:30pm and baby will probably have me up at 5:30am. She doesn't understand that Mommy and Daddy like to sleep late occasionally. So I finish with 167 words left to find after working on this monster off and on all day. Discouraging, but I'll be back. Nighty-night.
Congrats on 300 Babbler!! See you later (*happy dance around the room ending in a big HUG*)
bye Minski
Go to bed BAbbler. It must be 2 or 2:30 in the morning there.
Niters, Minski!
bye Babbler too!
*curtseys to GW after the happy dance* :D
Babbler: what is the theme tomorrow. I don't want to show up and be embarassed because I am dressed as a cat and everyone else is a watermellon or something.
((((XXXXX)))) Big hug for Babbler!!!
Minski -- no doubt about it, this one is a mindtwister -- so you did great! Have a wonderful day tomorrow and give the baby a hug for me!!
My endcount is 251 words and 4664 points. Good night for real this time.
it's all in my biog, ohrum, click on teh pink handbag! : )
Brava Minski! Have a great day tomorrow.
'Night Babbler. (stupid puzzzle)
Sorry, Babbbler. I keep forgetting to check your profile. I will show up dressed as a dog tomorrow. : )
STOOpid puzzle!!!
RE 8/40? any and all of them? Thank you.
no ohrum! LOL! Tomorrow is Japanese Day for Miyavi_Fan! Or Japanese rock (aka j-rock). :D
re6 - kids' time to play at school. re8 - pl.
re8/60 - don't forget. tie a ribbon on your finger to re8. re9 is present tense.
re8 - re + fall/winter/spring/summer.
Good evening all... how is everyone doing here at cruch time?
re6/18 - "To remain firm against. To keep from giving in to or enjoying." re8 - one who re6/s - usually in the sense of fighting an enemy.
i'm only 1/2 way through -
Flagging badly here, Jera. But fortunately, not caring too much.
hi Jera, I wimped out at 300 words. Already said g'nite to the gang, but still lurking......... just done my profile for tomorrow (Japanese Day) How did your daughter like Kitty Cat Day? How old is she, btw?
I only have 303 words to go... I'm SURE I'll finish no problem...
Merry Meet, Jera! I for one am resigned to my fate to not finish, tho I did break the 300 mark so I am pleased with my performance :)
re7/28 - to repeat, in a new form. re8 - present tense. re + 50 US entities.
Same here, mab... busy day, not much Babble time it turned out...
Sprite loved kitty day! I almost put her picture up, since her middle name is Katherine... but I never got around to it!
how many a words are there?
Merry Meet, GreyWoulf, nice to see you!
BTW, Jera - my daughter approved of Kitty Cat day -- she loved showing all the icons to her stuffed kitty ;)
Oh how sweet, GW... glad she liked it! She's two, right?
lol Babbler. I went back and read your profile more closely. Japanese rock. got it. : ) Goodnight everyone. For all who will be celebrating Thanksgiving, have a great holiday!
hilaryfan - there are 15 A's -- you can find this out for yourself by clicking on the Babblers Anonymous link to the right, then click the General topic, to get to the Daily Stat Link -- all the info is there
bye ohro -
by ohro - chhhhheeeetttttooooosssss
So long, ohro -- enjoy the parade for me -- maybe you'll be visible on TV if you get close enough Jera - yep - she is two and 3 months
*ohro puts a cat dish on the floor in front of renfeld and pours a nice bowl of cheetoes*
The only thing that gets me up on Thanksgiving Day is the parade... love watching that... it's my little indulgence since I'm the only one in the family who really enjoys that...
meow meow meow - means thank you for the cheetos
GW: My friend called and said that they were setting up the baloons on the ave next to her apt building. She said that she looked out the window and there was a 70 foot long baloon that looked like Mr. Potato head looking in her window. : )
I remember when the Xmas decorations did not go up in the stores until after the parade brought Santa to town
meow, meow, meow right back at ya', renfeld.
i love a parade
GW, i don't see any thingh like that
That must be awesome ohro... what a view! Like in the movie Miracle of 34th Street (or is it Yes, Virginia?) One of thos old ones where the mother & her daughter live right on the parade route... that would be kinda cool...
ohro - LOL, that must have been unsettling ;)
Grey: I want to sit down because I have some bad news. You have been lied to. There isn't a santa claus. Your parents lied to you. Sorry to have to break the news to you.
ohrom - *covers ears and starts humming retro tv theme songs*
NoOOOOOOOO! There is a Santa, there is, there is, there is!!!! I know cos I sat on his knee and told him what I wanted when I was 5, you can't tell me any different! (*pouts and tries vasliantly to keep tears from leaking out*)
NOT TRUE! I know where he lives!!!
WHAT? there's NO SANTA CLAUSE?
GW, yes there is a Santa. I believe in him, too!!!
That's right.. no Santa Claus... Grandmother Winter leaves gifts on Yule Eve!! (whoo-hoo, early presents!)
Well don't tell me Griff, because I'm not fond of the fellow.
The very last re 8? Thanks for all the re clues. I still need that last 8, if you don't mind!
I have e-mailed Santa before, if you want to, go to emailsanta.com. You can also email rudolph for your pets 8-)
Jera: she lives on 6th ave and I think the parade is on 5th ave so she will have to march down the block. I thought we could see it from her window so I was going to go there in the morning but as it turns out, we will have to watch it outside in the cold. : (
BIG WIDE GRIN! :D :D 418 words 5.52 7256 Done. I KNOW now that I'm addicted to this game! :D
Seriously, Santa always creeped me out... a strange guy sneaking into your house while you were asleep? *shudders*
Zubie - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
congrats, zubie
I retract my previous statement in regard to Mr. Claus. *ohro walks towards GW with a tissue* Sorry for the pain and suffering everyone.
Hey! Who's bashing Santa? :o Now that I'm free to read the log!
Great work, zubie!!!!!!
harpjane - thought I gave 'em all.... are there more than 5?
*does happy dance of doneness for zubie (cuz it ain't happening for me!) & throws confetti*
Jera: give me Chanakkuh harry any day. I think Chanakkuh Harry could win in a wrestling match with Santa.
any help on the re 8/40s? i have the one that means winter again
Thanks, Griff, GW, Cathy. I'd left off last night at 399 - guess what I was dreaming? [sigh] :D
SEE! I told ya so!! (*takes tissue and hugs ohro*)
One re 8 -s like the Abba song, do you re8 it?
My sister-in-law is Jewish... Hannakkuh is cool!
Charm- I might have missed it, but I don't think there was a clue for the 5th one. I'll look again. I'm in no hurry, since I only have 168 words to go!
"Do you re8 the first time, and all of your sweet sweet talk..."
How could anyone not love a holiday with 8 crazy nights?
re8 = re + 50 US entities.
I'm all over a holiday that gives out chocolate AND money!
Hurrah for zubie!!!!!!!!!!!!
Charm, found it. So now I only have 165 to go. No chance. Abba? I vaguely remember something about Abba while I was in college, trying to learn Vivaldi! Were they a string quartet? hee hee hee
Another re 8 is to "sibling again" [where sibling is an si6 you already have - a female sibling] another re 8 is to re[st5] as in "I st5 this now I re8 it!
that's right - 8 notes - 8 presents - and yummy food - yes - it is a miracle
Personally, I feel that all of the December holidays serve to reinforce that idea that while the window dressing is different, the underlying principles are the same :)
great going zub
Amen, Griff. Well goodnight again to all.
We do the 12 days of Yule, a present each night from Solstice to New Year...
That line from the Abba song is the real clue - The song is "Love isn't easy but it sure is hard enough" [Not sure if that's the title] The first line is "do you re8 the first time..."
Thanks ren.
oy channukah oy channukah - come light the menorah -
owww - 12 notes - 12 presents....i like that too
It's because I adore that silly song Twelve Days of Christmas... so I revised it... nothing like being an eclectic pagan, LOL!
Eclectic is the best -- It makes it so much easier to introduce Wicca to the sincerely interested
Since Cat Day is waning... does anyone know the legend of the Yule Cat?? (it's midnight here... time for a scarey story!!)
the last se 8/40? 138 to go.
hee hee, just noticed I posted a word in the log. My bad. So much going on here that nobody noticed!
Don't think I know that one, Jera...
Last se 8 40 is a plural of the sharp and ragged edged se 7 right above it.
se8/40 based on se7/28 meaning "Arranged or occurring in a se6/18 or in rows."
sorry, folks. Needing toothpicks to keep the eyelids propped. Try again tomorrow. nite, all.
bye charm -
Good night Charm.
G'Nite Charm -- Thanks for all the great clues! Enjoy your day tomorrow :)
14 left!!! the third ne4 first 2 st6/18 st8/40 the st4 that follows the st8/40 any help would be great!!!
any clue on SE9/60 (not the one +te6/21)
*shines flashlight under chin to make spooky face* It is an Icelandic tradition that everyone in the family works very hard at harvest, and preparing for Winter, especially the Autumn wool. Everyone who works hard receives a new article of clothing, perhaps only something small, but warm and new, even the smallest child had their reward. But woe to those who were lazy and did not work... for they had no new clothing... and the Yule Cat would eat them up!
Here's a link that does it much better... http://www.simnet .is/gardarj/yule11.htm
se 9 60 - The most se 6 of all. I'll tell you a se6 (whispers in your ear). Isn't that the se9 of all? [imagine schoolgirls telling each other se6 in the playground, whispering and giggling into each others' ears]
Can't get enough of them Icelandic Sagas. . .
ack zubie i have that already hmmm is there any other se9?
nvm how about me9?
The scariest stories come from cold lands, I think!
I am proud to say I have 244 words left to find....ROFLOL
Yeah blaze!
Good for you, Blaze!!
i have 16 more and i give up *grrr* even a2z fails me this time
You got me bear, Blaze, LOL!
Another se 9 builds on its se 8 and 7. You're cooking. You add se6 to the food. These are se9s!
LOL... beat, I mean...
I can imagine that just SURVIVING in a place like Iceland involves a tremendous amount of work and commitment. Certainly, someone who does not contribute would not be much appreciated.
I mean, you add se6ing to the food.
And ya gotta motivate the kids somehow...
hello all, any help with the oe7/28 and the 10 word would be greatly appreciated.
Evening all I have 234 words left to find so I am just here for the company and to see what comes next!
You can do it Blaze! Keep your chin up....Actually I guess that's unreasonable, but well done anyway. This grid is more fun to just dip into than to complete, I think (she who will not finish says).
ts?
Think jungle fly that makes you sick (lethal, maybe even?)...
lol thanks zubie u wont believe it but i didnt have that whole series at all! that took care of 3 words :) thanks
Hello all, would greatly appreciate help on the oe7/28 and the me10
me 10/ 84 plural of me 9/66 (prepares cotton for dying
You know, if I finished, there wouldn't be enough room on the page for my full list so it's better not to press on.
harp: ts is repeating two sets of ts+vowel
oe 7 is a hormone.
harp think fly as in bugs
oe 7/ 28 yet another alternate spelling for a female hormone
oh, THAT ts word! Thanks.
You're welcome, mica. I completely disliked the grid! It kept swallowing me up, and I kept losing myself - not knowing which words and I had and which I didn't!
any help on the other ME9 word? i only got the ME9 that is singular of ME10
zubie, yeah i know what u mean its really difficult to track on this grid *sigh*
Let's just ditch this one and move on to the next one . .. Next grid please . . . .
I have a me9/66 but that is an independent soldier for sale. I don't think that is part of me10. Please give the hint for 9/66 as well
These last weeks I have kept thinking that it would be great to learn what all these words mean. Now even if I knew what they meant I'd never want to see them again, so what's the point?
mica plural of the me 6 lots of them
Thank you for the sleeping sickness fly clue. Believe it or not, I've been waiting for ages for that word to turn up in the grid. I know have no more room for words on my list.
other ME 9 - You have an ME 9 already. Switch the spelling around, of the last three letters!
me 9/ 66 textile shops
lol, Griff
mab do you not use the word list on the page ???
Okay, maybe someone knows this here... what se6/18-ings go into making homemade stuffing? Sprite has a bee in her bonnet to make homemade stuffing tomorrow for some strange reason...
I don't get the textile shop any other clues.
One ME 9 - Think a type of cotton cloth - Me9d cotton
jera, I use sage, salt and pepper, some chicken broth and melted butter, chopped apples.
jera, don't forget the onions
me 9/66 and me 10/84 end with ce 6/21 and ce 7/32
Marc: its often on the label of cotton items. Torgone used this earlier-- singer Johnny me6. First syllable rhymes with the last.
she might even be able to find a recipe in a cookbook.
I'm off to bed. Have to work in the morning. Have a good Thanksgiving all.
Jera - If you have thyme, cumin, parsley, sage, rosemary, sage, or any combination thereof, you will be good.
thanks zubie! lol 1 down 12 more to go
You don't need twice the sage ..
zubie, im missing a RE9, not the memory one
Too tired have to go to sleep, thanks for the help though. happy thanksgiving to all
I'm stuck on one of the st 6/18's near the top of the list, not sure which one I'm missing tho
I knew torgone would know. Just think Simon and Garfunkel.
G'nite doxy and Marc - enjoy the day tomorrow!
RE9 - Builds on RE6 - RE6 events. Think "most RE6" events to get RE9
I was about to say... lotsa sage? Very cleansing! Thanks, I will let her experiment with that... gotta keep her occupied over the holiday!
Chef tells me cumin is important..
GreyWoulf, what are your Winter holiday traditions? Do you do the secular Christmas stuff or more Yule?
Little hint - Mix all your herbs together dry, and take a whiff... Should tell you how it will taste..
thanks zubie got it :D i was hoping that it builds on a word i dont have already i am missing a re 6 7 and 8 what other RE8 are there, other than the memory, fighting against, and saying again?
Griffums: st 6/ 18 plural of st 5/10 (things you climb to get from floor to floor) st 6/ 18 stoppages of bodily fluids st 6/ 18 plural of st 5/10 (verbalises)
One st 6 = I won't take the elevator, I'll take the st6! Another st 6="A condition of balance among various forces; motionlessness" Another st6 - US has 50 st6
The st4 of a plant can be extended with er (ST8/50) Add es to your st5. (st8/40) Don't forget potheads (st7/28)
We have all that except for cumin... I'll send the man out to fetch some in the morning...
Basically we utilise the Yule/Xmas framework -- personally we celebrate Yule and have a personal gift exhange then
RE6- Re6 events RE6 - To ME4 again (I will ME 4 you at the clubhouse, ok?)
ERRRRRRGH. I hate this part, running out of time and knowing these are great clues and I am too thick to get them. I am missing the *second* st 6/18 which may be the bodily fluids one? Which I just ain't gonna get...
"Poultry Seasoning" has the main things.
We do our family thing, then it's off to the grandparents for Christmas... they are somewhat religious but have learned to leave me be on that front... ever since I broke the earth shattering news that Jesus being born on December 25th wasn't in the Bible... I'm just a wicked Witch, aren't I?
No recipes... the little darling wants to invent her own... this should be very interesting...
Re6 - "what you do with your eyes" again [plural] Re6 - past tense of above Re6 - alt form of "take an Re4 or you'll have a breakdown"
But we also celebrate Christmas on its spiritual level for two reasons - 1. The rest of our relatives do, which simplifies familial relations 2. It serves to reinforce the optimistic rebirth imagery of Yule in a framework that others can relate to
Griffums: change second t in USA st6/19 to an "s"
mab can u elaborate on the ST8 that is st5 + es?? which st5?
zubie, help for RE8 please?
Re 6 - Hold a grudge against; I RE6 that remark! Re 6 - All schoolkids play outside during Re6 and then return to class
If I just get all the tr's, do i win?
You are much more mellow than I am, GW... I get kinda prickly this time of year, knowing history as I do...
Got it, thanks cmith.
You cooked, mica. You'll have to Re8 the food. [Re + se6}
Mica, the one who takes shorthand. Add es to the pl.
Another hint for the little one - Whatever spices and herbs she chooses - Have her put them all into the palm of her hand before adding to the food. That way she won't get too much of any one thing.
lol thanks zubie lol i guess me and taht cooking dont go too well together
Re 8 - Schoolkids have many Re8 during a school term.
mab, ermmm that word is meaning leaking out right? i already got it im still missing one st8 *sigh*
Jera - At this point, the important thing is to spend time with family. Underplay the rituals, and accentuate the family time, and all will be good.
Thank you Torgone, the Sprite can go to town now! She feels a little let down this holiday, since we have already done our Thanksgiving at Mabon in September... so now she wants to get creative!
What's a clue for the very last st8? Is it the same root as the previous st 4/4? I have 149 words to go. Think I'll make it? NOT!
St 8 = A constriction or narrowing of a duct or passage; a stricture St 8 - Plants have three basic parts, leaves, root and st4. St8 is st4 +....; These plants are st8; ivy is an st8
i have 8 more but my tracking is so screwed up if i retrack now the new puzzle will be up lol
Jera - it comes from my forays into Eastern philosophy/religion -- one common theme is that perspective is what defines importance. If you can shift your viewpoint, you become better able to find the happiness in every situation :)
I'm routing for you harpjane!!
st 8/ 50 plural of st 7/36 (plant stalk removers) st 8/ 40 constrictions of a bodily passage st 8/ 40 plural of st 7/28 (marks with lines or stripes)
How about past tense plural of word meaning a rock.
Try, mica!!! Do you know at least which letters?
harpjane - maybe if you had broadband instead of dial up :D
One more question, Torgone... how do you get the spices to stick to the bread crumbs? Do you shake & bake it? I guess sprinkling spices on after baking would work very well... I'm pretty clueless in the kitchen (microwave queen that I am)!
thanks zubie!! the stricture one was the one i was looking for :D
*DOES THE VERY HAPPY DANCE...FINISHED!!!*
Add a beaten egg, Jera. And a bit of broth.
yeah Smeltz!!!
I see GW... sounds peaceful... hopefully I can find that path one day... right now I'm more Celtic warrior... perhaps as my red phase wanes I can mellow out...
Jera I sometimes used a little mashed potatoe too
Goody! Tell me any other letters you're missing, mica!
Yay, Smeltzie!!! (*gives Smeltz a bearhug for MAMA who had to go to bed early*)
i have missing on my list a RE6, RE7, SE7, SE5, ST5, ST7, TE6 and 7 and ME5 lol but then i already have 410 so lol 2 of those i already have
Jera - Creativity is good in cooking. Cooking with your kids is excellent. Letting your kid determine the mix of seasonings is brilliant, as long as quantities are somewhat limited..
You mean you like paint it, mab? Or dribble it? I'm sure I sound really stupid, LOL!
im definitely missing a ME5
be8/50 please help me!!
missing a RE7
Jera - one of the best books I have ever read on the topic is 'The Tao of Pooh'. You will find it at any good bookstore.
Re6 and Re 7 - Like Roost but change the oo to another vowel; 7 is plural
Once you get the bread bits moistened, add the seasonings and mix well. All will be good.
I'm stuck on the last two ta's?
hey hey smeltz!
Be8 - The most Be4 where be 4 is the alcoholic drink people have and watch football in pubs
Hahahahaha! I've slayed the monster!
Am I right about the egg, torgone? I think you mix everything and then bake. Butter is probably a good thing to add too.
i already have the roost like RE
griff, i'm so thin on ta's i'm not sure what i have. you have the root vegetables, right?
ta
i guess i will have to settle for everything but the s's. last two ta's, anyone? (6/18 and 7/28)
st 5 - short form, of one who does shorthand
Griffums: ta 6/ 18 another slang for potato ta 7/ 28 plural of ta 6/18 (slang for potatoes)
EEERRRRGH. I'm missing ta 6/18 and ta 7/28
Is that a serious book, GW? I always thought it was a joke/spoof. The Pooh characters are a fascinating gamut of personalities!
Yes, mab. Moisten well and mix well before cooking. Absolutely add all herbs and spices before cooking.
Ta 6 - A mat or screen of fibers, as of the kuskus grass Ta 7 plural
Never mind, I give up - can't find the clues in all this chat and it takes so long for screen to refresh, and time's gone.
