geez, my word list now looks like a four-year-old wrote it
Hi all, I'm back from the wide world of google with my j pop icon -- it's from a group called Guitar Wolf so I get to keep to my personal theme as well ;D
You did good GW!
Thx, Schroeder!
Wow, it's puny today! Couldn't we average these things out a bit?
And on that note, I have to go, at least for a bit, gotta take care of the kitties and such, I'll try to be back soon!
Nite GW, I may be gone when you get back...
(*Hug for Schroeder*) Just in case ;)

127? Where are the words hiding!
anyone able to get a list off babblers anon?
got 74.....
List is not up yet
hey all, just popped in to copy the grid and take it to bed. hey Zubie! What did the doc say? : )
Hi Babbler. The doctor still doesn't think it needs an xray! But I'm to rest it more and next checkup is tomorrow.
hey, I'm back for a quick pass through before I go to bed now that litties are fed and happy :)
zubie - is the ankle feeling any better at all?
Zubie, humbly request a second opinion. He/she is obliged to honour that. Or take yourself to A&E, if you can. Something isn't right, is it? :/
Doesn't feel more painful, Babbler. But didn't look less swollen when I saw it last night.
Hey Babbler, knowing nothing about j-pop I googled it with wolf and came up with the group Guitar Wolf :) Know anything about them?
Hi GW. Ankle isn't hurting more - but isn't hurting less, either. I'm on brufen - good or bad?
It's not just the pain, Zube, that swelling is wrong. Does everyone agree with me?
hey GW - don't ask me, mate, I'm clueless! It's Miyavi_Fan who is our little j-rocker. That's fantastic you found a band called Guitar Wolf! LOL! Are they japanese as well?
Being on brufen is good, anything that helps your body spend its energy on healing and not enduring Another important consideration -- how well are you maintaining proper hydration? -- how much water are you drinking each day -- that will also have an impact on how quickly the swelling recedes
excellent point GW ! Also, did you know water is a natural pain killer? Sounds mad, but it is. : )
Bab - yes they are -- you may have noticed that I am trying to always have a wolf to match the daily theme -- I'm kinda glad I missed smiley day bec there are no smiley wolf images ;D
I did notice, GW !! :D
I'm sure I saw a wolf icon of yours recently that was very friendly and smiley?
zubie - the key is to be drinking at least 4-6 glasses of water every day -- not soda and definitely not anything caffeinated -- the caffeine counters the benefits of the water -- you can still have coffee or the like, just not as the majority of your fluid intake
Really, GW? The water, I mean. I don't drink enough even at ordinary times. :s/
Well, true Bab - but I was looking for a yellow smiley to match everyone else
I try to drink 6 glasses of water a day but never reach the target.
I wanted a smiley of Aishwarya Rai, but I changed it to a smiley to match everyone else too! : )
zubie - really! I am always getting chastised by Kirsten bec I don;t drink enough water myself. But I have to admit that I find I do function better on the days that I actively work at drinking at least 6 (8 ounce) glasses of water throughout :)
Bab - I have no idea who you are referring to
Zube, water is the best thing. But it can get boring. If you're looking for alternatives that you know you WILL drink, try herbal teas, green tea, or naturally decaffeinated tea like rooibus / redbush / bush tea. Do aim for those 6 glasses. (you really need more, but not too much!) :)
oh, oops, she is a bollywood actress who is making it big in hollywood now. She was a Miss World at one point. I had her icon for a while, until we started theme days. : )
I forget to drink water! I've taken to keeping a bottle on the table but even then, I forget! When you mentioned it, I realised I was thirsty. Probably been an hour or more since I began to be thirsty but it didn't register in my head! I've now begun on glass #1! [cheer!]
BTW - has anyone claimed first find on the 7 today?
I have a w8.
tw7/44. Morning
Yes, I just realised I have the 7, but someone mentioned both earlier - I forget who.
well I have a p7
well done, Zube! Proud of you! Did you know, when you're thirsty, actually, (supposedly), you're already dehydrated? (full of information today, aren't I? LOL! ) : )
True, Bab -- a friend of mine told me taht when you feel thirst it means you are already about a quart low
and funnily enough I was told that you were drinking enough water if you are thirsty.... Pass the champers please
*passes champers to blaze* : D
ta babbler
Well, it's time to say sayonara ! see you all later today :D
david sylvian!
(*opens new bottle for Blaze*) I think that refers to the fact that you're body is reacting properly to stimuli, Blaze. I think one of the signs of severe dehydration is that you no longer feel the urge to drink -- similar to how the body will suppress the hunger urge after a while
hope you feel better, Zube ((((hugs)))) and *hugs* to GW ! : ) ooh, spot on, spatial!! :D
Later. Babbler -- have a great day! (*HUG*)
You are are probably very correct.....
Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving to US people, happy Japanese day to all.
Morning, mab -- Happy Thanksgiving!
Ok [shamed and hiding] I understand! I will drink more water! I hereby appoint all of you to remind me to drink a glass of water BEFORE I type a word each day!
Zubie you will be floating or peeing through the grid.....:)
zubie - no need to feel that way -- Blaze and I were exploring a tangent :) Besides you know it's because we care :)
Lol Blaze! :o Shhh!
Yes, I know, GW, and I'm touched. I am so new here and everyone is so friendly. It's wonderful! [bear hug]
I feel the same way :D (*bear hug back*)
I only have 64 words to go.... and yes I would like fries with that.....LOL
66 here, but running out of steam...
I'm running out of letters and words....LOL
82 and stuck
I feel a little punked because I can't see the w8 Probably bec I'm tired...
GW - w8 builds on what you advised me to drink lots of!
Imagine me drinking it and barking. I'll be a w8!
Zubie a real New Foundland dog to the rescue... our saint of words......Wub U
thanks, zubie -- I don't think I've heard of that critter before :)
oh it's a type of salamander
Lol - I hadn't heard of that word either. I was monkeying around, typing whatever I could!
hi spatialbean, how are you today?
It's the fish of the grid to day
I'm good thank you! What are we wearing today?
J-pop imagery for Miyazi_fan
Still stuck on 82.
hmmm ok
yeah - that's kinda how I felt -- but I put in a google search cross referencing j-pop and wolf and found a band called Guitar Wolf so I'm using them -- I know nothing about them otherwise ;D
Lots of creeturs in this grid.

Sweet Tooth...little indicator for the m7 please
the dictionary found no entry
nava,it's a derogatory term for a gay man in the uk
I'm having trouble finding a def. for the M7, but I think it's the face of a crab with an alt. ending. Or imagine a toddler saying my fake hair piece.
oh, i never knew that. thanks
nava,are you a Spanish speaker?
no, my husband lived in argentina for 2 years...and has a masters degree in spanish
i;m not understanding the " fake hair piece" at all
Lucky man....I'm a fluent speaker, having been brought up in Spain and was on my way to South America when i fell for my eldest...so that trip has been on hold for almost 17 yrs...but once the youngest leaves home,i'm off for at least a year...Yay

Thanks for the clarification sweet tooth - now I understand the hair piece.
I would very much like to do voluntary work with children...will investigate further in a couple of years.Have seen some very distressing documentaries about the treatment of children in some of the poorer countries...
Boker tov Ishult-sweet tooth's definition a few posts before gives you the me7.
yeah, it's so sad and unfortunate. that would be a great cause to work for.
sorry, meant mo7
I'm missing a 7. I have at7,me7,po7 and tw 7. What am I missing please?
me 7 - first three letters 'encountered', vowel, then latinised feminine plural ending.
Anu clues for the mo7?
H Eva I posted a list at 3.27
motpoop should be a word.
Sorry for the slip.....

Does anyone have all the o's? I'm missing two and don't know which ones!

Haz...can u explain latinised feminine plural ending cos what I wanna do doesn't work...
for o's there's also the olfactory one, the western and more frequent. Do any of those help? I don't have them all by a long shot.

I don't know about the movies - but in the fairy tales there's an o4 monster.
The o4 monster has a vowel beginning and end.

I don't think I have the church calendar, Eva. What is the second letter?

Apparently it means a gaseous exhalation in French - wouldn't like to be anywhere near that....
So a fart.....yay!!
You might be glad of blocked airways if there were lots of them going on....
tbear, what do you mean you don't use anything either...i really don't know what a2z is. sounds like a help sheet
www.a2z.com is the refuge of those who, like me, need a bit of help! You can type in the beginning of a word and it will list all the words or most of them.
Haz....absolutely... Nava, think it's a word site ask someone else to explain it,i have no idea....see you later lovely people...

Lotti: lol! Mine is Malice Mizer. I've listened to some of their songs. It's ok. I wanted to put a pic of Amadeus but it the result wasn't nice when small.
zubie I think it is another do4/5 you are missing, Im just double checking.
Great game - can anyone help an oap? Cant always access the word answers from the day before. The link doesn't always connect.
Lickety....only yesterdays stats are still posted at the moment. Brandy Jack is normally the one to give us all the days info :) He`ll probably update it in an hour or so!!

Hiya Jac :) How you doing today?
Hi Jacula! You're always so efficient! That's great!
Hi all! Lotti - I'm fine, except for a Water Board workman with a Jackhammer, digging up the pavement at end of my drive! (They're renewing all the water mains round here.)
Ho Hum?
zubie, you're missing or 4/8
zubie or4/8
LOL we all post at the same time, can't help you on any other o's right now still missing some too.
Ok I got the or. Now one more pesky O. :/
Good job it wasn`t the morning after the night before!!! And better than the sewage blockage in my manholes on the drive last week :/ !!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone care to compare a T list with me? I'm missing 3.
Im still missing 6 on the t's
Lotti - True! However, they're only doing all this work on mains and sewerage after many of us had our houses flooded 4 or 5 times with sewage and surface water.
Should I post a T list, Ho Hum?
Oooo yak!!! Hope it does the job this time!!
doubt I wll be able to help zubie, but you can if you want and I will compare.

Why isn't Frodo a valid word????
LOL Sherry :)
sorry zubie ca'nt add to yours this time.
There's a to6/18 (funny word for a certain part of the male anatomy) that isn't 'allowed' by the grid's dictionary either.:-(
Ok, Ho Hum. It's maddening to be stuck three words away from victory!
Zubie, I have a ta 6/18
Jac thats what my son calls his :) !!!!!
you'll get there, there is still plenty of time.
If you keep golden 'orfe' in your pond, you'll find this grid won't let you. 'Fatdog's' not allowed either. LOL. Nor the tw7/44 extension of one of the tw4/8's!
Yoink - nice one thanks, zobie, think body art
Zubie - Having looked quickly at your list I think you have a ta6/18 and a te6/21 missing.
Oooh Yoink and Ho Hum. Missed that completely. Thanks! One T and One O now!
Zubie - te6/21 - Think container for popular UK & Indian drink.
Yayyy! I got the missing T thanks Jacula! And I drank that all day! [thwacks my own head]. Now just an O!
Which 'o' are you missing, Zubie?
These are the ones I have, Jacula. oa 5 10 od 4 5 of 5 16 og 4 6 or 4 8 or 4 5 ot 5 10 ot 4 4 oy 4 6
Oh.:-( Missing the same one myself. Sorry! Other half has just asked me to text him today's grid. I may be gone some time...
Ok, Jacula. Yikes. How do you text a grid?!
Jacula, you need camera phones, a picture would be much easier!
Ok Jac....say hi to Mr 69!!!! See ya later :)
I'm off folks! Paperwork to do before it's too late and I get in trouble again! 73 words to go! See ya later! :)
Jacula, can you tell us which o on the grid it might be?
See ya later Sherry :)
Zubie - it's not difficult, just a bit time-consuming. Yoink - He has a camera phone, but I don't.:-( Lotti - I will!:-)
Anyone has any idea of the O I'm missing?
The missing 'o' word starts from the 'o' on the 3rd row down, 2nd from left.
Any idea of its value?
No, Zubie. Sorry. I'll let you know as soon as I find it.
Ok Jacula. Thanks.
Found it! of4/9
Yayy! Thanks, Ho Hum! :D :D And with that, very wearily, I've reached 127 words 4.66 1586!! [Without BrandyJack's list but with lots of nice help from everyone here. So thanks to everyone! :D]
Congrats Zubie :)
Thanks, Yoink. I should get rid of this addiction, I really should!
* Clap, clap, clap* Take a bow!!!!!!! Well done you :)
Well done, youu can go and rest now but if you felt like posting the m's before you went........ :)
this puzzle sucks
Thanks, lotti! I'll be here for clues for a while, if anyone needs them.
Well done, Zubie!

Any clue on te6/27 please
Just change the last letter of your 21
Ty lotti
You`re welcome :)
Am back and I wondering Oreo isn't a valid word either...
Macadam, have you had lunch?
And wondering so much that I forget to type half of the words!!! lol!
Hi again Sherry.....the grid pleases itself from day to day!!!!
There is a workman digging a hole in the pavement at the end of my drive who seems to think it is amusing to yell, 'AARGH!' to his mate up the road with every stroke of the spade. If he continues to be amused by this, he may well find himself head down in his own hole. *Quietly fuming here.*
Sherry, 'Oreo' is a brand name, so not allowed.
Jac don`t forget to stick the spade in his head first!!! LOL
Lotti - Don't tempt me!
Lol Jacula - just for that, I'm glad I didn't leave yet! I actually forgot to close the window and got busy with another site! Now I'm happy I didn't miss that! :D
Jacula: I know! But I keep trying that kind of words at time...just in case! lol!
Sherry - Me, too. I never believe that the grid won't accept 'Erse'. Zubie - I'll take a photo if I do upend the b*gger!:-)
thought the orfe fish worked last time it was on the grid
You do that, Jacula! :D
Jac promise to use it as your icon!!!!
anyone got a clue for the fo7/27 please
sorry meant fo6/27
ho hum fo6/27 is a bad smell
I`ve just been on the phone again trying to sort out the nuisance noises----what fun.No I haven`t had lunch yet Lotti
thanks, got it. 5 left to the finish line.
Have we time to do the GC???
I think so.
I`ll be with you in approx 15 :) See you lot later :)
clue for wa8?
jacula! no words in the log ! * giggle* hi everyone!
doxy - a liquid and add an animal
Ooh, thanks, TempleOwl. Hadn't spotted that word! :-)
that's ok - i got the words before i spotted it - i think!
now for that F0/7...the ending....
got it! i hadn't realized how anglicized i've become until yesterday when i never even thought to look for a "z" to make merceri(s) (z) e! : )
i also need fo7
fo6 = 'enemy' + 'hilltop'.
There is no fo7.
The PO 5-6&7 are killing me, I can't see them to save my life. Are they related?
mabey I'm stupid, but I still can't get the fo6/27
are there any y's? trying to avoid stats...
TA6 ...I have 41 of then, ink in the skin
yes, 2 y's
thanks, une! : )
Ishult - Try this instead - Think of a baby before it is born and then change the last 2 letters to 'an alternative' rather than 'America'.
po7 is a derogatory term for gay person (not related to po5or 6) - an extension of po4/8
po6/21 - root vegetable po6/21 - famous scene in "Ghost" involved a po***** wheel.
lshult, thanks ... I'll get to work. For yours .. combine an enemy + your jacket got "t---" on the fence .. drop the fence. Drop the last letter. Does that help?
thanks right back at you
O M G you guys! OF Course they would be obvious!! Get the fish out ...
Nevermind the random "Drop the fence" in my clue, I don't know what I was thinking. Ive only been up for an hour, coffee hasn't kicked in!!!
lshult..stuck on po7 - i do have po4...
this is an icon test. this is only an icon test. if this was a real icon, you would receive instructions on how to proceed.
Lookin' good joelgee! Very nice album cover, I'm sure Miya will approve! ;-)
northwest american indian pole... TO5/12
thanks. movie poster section, actually. Can anybody read the text?
does anyone have clues for the te words over 7?
there's only 1
sorry, i meant there's only one word over 7 . . . and it's not "te"
So. Am I the only one who didn't finish yesterday's gridzilla?
are you kidding?!
There was another one who didn't finish?
finish??? not even close
yep, just moi! :-)
no - moi! *giggle* i quit just over 300...
oh une - ty.
I'm finished for today. Will nip in and out to give clues. I did yesterday's grid, but only on paper. Am going to check how I did from the archives later.

Bobsta....you're not switching sides are you...you know batting for both??? Shall i be the one to break it to Bubbles..
Une,was quite pleased with myself got about 75% of your original message...spanish my first main second language but i love French...unfortunately you have to be French to do it justice
is it a bloke then? looks like a girl to me ooooops :o/ mind you, when boy george first hit the scene i thought he was a girl.
Oh wow -we have gone from a still, sunny day to high winds and pouring rain here in about 15 minutes. Its really horrible!
Aixoise: c'est carremnt dement!!! lol!
okay, miyavi. you miss one memo.

Bobsta...you have potential then,,,think Bubs ought to be warned...then again i still fancy kd lang and I'm StRaIgHt as a di.....
See you all later - off to try to turn my house into something that resembles a home with a wife in it! At the moment it looks like a house with a compulsive babbler in it!

Hi Cathy! Bye Snowy!
blue skies and bright suinshine here in east london
Snowy: you're not really going, are you?
okay. miyavi two. Um, about this miyavi character . . .
Bobsta - So it's nice in London? Glad to hear it. Have a dear friend visiting London for the weekend. And he's a Floridian, so you know we're "weather wimps" :)
Happy Thanksgiving!
tbear-- I was busy making sandwich. *hands tbear sandwich containing shaved smoked turkey, melted smoked gouda cheese, tomato, lettuce, dijon mustard, on grilled sourdough bread. Accompanying sandwich is mug of comforting hot soup*
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, gnubee !
why isn't bayer a word....
hi Cathy, yes its bright but B****y cold. as long as your friends a wrapped up they'll love it.
does anyone know the total today ?
Joelgee, you shave your turkeys? Most folks just pluck them...

HI Yoink! HI Temple!
Joel...I am not fickle...true and loyal to infinity and beyond.......sniff
hey all. i'm walking in a winter wonderland here.
especially where food's concerned....in this age of equality,it is also the way to a womans heart....
tbear-- *hands tbear a soft handkerchief for nose and eyes*
Hi Evanonut! Lucky you! Here (in Toulouse) it's raining! No snow yet.
you know what you can do with your winter frigging wonderland. #$%%^!!
Hi All! I think we have a problem here. It will not accept Frodo, which means he does not exist. People of Middle Earth, hear me well, GANDALF IS LYING TO YOU!
Joelgee...STOP IT...I'm melting...(and I'm accused of being cynical!!) Keep going,keep going......lol
oh my joel, not a snow fan? i'm not until i get my snow treads either i suppose.
dachef-- Very brave calling Gandalf a liar. Remember, "wizards are subtle and quick to anger" (or something like that)
Dach.....what are your sandwiches like???? ROFLMAO.....only kidding Joel!!
Hi Dachef!
Hi all, happy thanksgiving. Very frustrated today because the wife wouldn't let me have my big thanksgiving and we are going to some friends and I am not cooking anything. Seems so out of place. Last year i will allow this to happen. I hate being out of control but maybe a good lesson for me.
also, according to the god of the little red box, Godot does not exist either. I bl**dy well knew it! Someone tell Estragon and Vildamar, they're gonna be peeved.
Dachef: yeah, I tried Frodo and Oreo too...
sherry, no snow? how depressing. how do you freeze your turkeys then?
LOL Marc .... hmmm, bit of a control freak are we? ;-) Think of the positives .. no clean up, free food ...
Babsta, didn't get the b clue you gave Cathy. Can you give me an easier clue.
greetings all
hi evan, dachef :)
Hi Sherry :) I'm on and off here too at the moment, only just noticed your greeting
Bubbles.....are you sitting down...need to talk about Bobsta with you....only kidding, how are you?
hey 72!
I love looking at. A walk in it is nice. It's the driving, I guess.
hiya bubs xx Marc: i didn't give a clue earlier mate, i just was saying its Bl***Y cold here ;o)
Temple - hi, been meaning to ask - any particular significance for your moniker there?
Well, Godot, you just have to wait on him. He's always late. Try again later.
the key, joel, is really expensive tires.
Sorry Babsta it is cold here to. I have a good friend here with your real name. A little older and owns a chimney sweep company.
evano-- Now if only all the other drivers would get real expensive tires and remember from one year to the next how to drive in snow.
Happy Turkey Day all from America. Does anyone have a clue for the p7? I am really struggling with it.
trivia du jour: only male turkeys gobble . . . hmmmm
Hey bAbsta....do you think that was a freudian slip....
woohoo marc, we get everywhere doncha know. hope he's doing well.
so what do female turkeys (turkeyettes?) do?
flutter their drumsticks!
right you are joel, signs should be posted every twenty feet that say don't lock your brakes!
now now tbear PMWL!!!
dachef- i am a graduate of temple u in philly...and we are the owls!
jeolgee: they gobble
PMWL?
any clue for po 7/44?
P**S myself with laughter
the image of a flock of female turkeys fluttering their drumsticks. . .
mica, I just asked the same thing. It's a tuffie
The po is making me crazy too ... clues would be gREAT. The one I got earlier didnt do it for me :-(
Temple - Ahhh! And you're 72 then, right? ;)
And every 10 feet explaining the laws of physics.
hi mica - extend po4/8...
hi baby, anything you want to tell me before its too late?!! Hi tbear, how you feeling?
* flutters her eyeleashes* why dachef! i'm not a day over 60, i swear...LOL
Whew, got it ... what on earth does that po 7 mean???
And here I thought there was some deep mystical, wisdom thing involved. Very Minerva-ish. No.
72 thanks got it
Hey temple, thanks. I just noodled until it appeared. :)
Hi Marc! Hi Bubbles! Hi Fit1!
and telling them not to go so slow that idiot drivers try to pass them.
Chains joel chains
bubs, did you know this Miyavi person was a bloke? (the real one not miyavi_fan)
Hi Sherry
Yo Sherry.
temple: po4/8 with the double vowel? any clue on what to extend it with?!
bobsta, i didn't know that, looked like a chick to me.
mica: its what the english and aussies call a gay guy (derogatory)
use the end of your wa 5/18 to make the po 7
Bubbles...just keep an eye on him...!!! Feeling grotty but Babble friends make it easier...thanks for asking...Joel's really looking after me...
yeah-- miya has made the point numerous times. Go figure.
He's got a certain amount of androgyny going on, but any quick google search or image search shows him to be male
Thank you evanonut thats what i said *pokes tongue out at tbear*
i know... po4/8 is the same meaning for gays but i cant think of wth to extend it with *frowns*
mica, did you see my clue???
geez would never imagine to put those two consonants together :P thanks i got it :)
no babe thought it was a woman
mica: start with the letter directly next to the 'f'
to the right
Bobsta...don't get over sensitive...you're are amongst friends....feel free to express your true self...
Tbear: rofpmwl!!!!!

nonny, at7 = right now you are at7/36-ing to guess what at7/36 is :P it means to try to do something
what i meant was, i don't get what you mean by the depends
Congrats Mica!!!!
ha! depends = adult diapers! roflol!
Ah! What's a Depends you might be asking. Since you were rolling on floor pywl, I handed you a clothing article sold here in USA for people who have incontinence problems. They also make great coasters.
the two OR4 = or + (i must submit this ** 4pm) or + (i must ** the above or i will be late)
thanks sherry it makes up for yesterday's not finishing hehe
Thanx micamonkey. I had tried that before, but apparently didn't spell it write---oops, right!
And great bar towels, I imagine.
ahhhh now i see. in that case, *thanks joelgee and wipes up*

ty and bye, micamonkey! bye bubbles!
A minigrid, compared to yesterday's :) Hi all!
you drink wa5/18 as I see it I am missing the canine I have all of the wa's except the 8/75.
i'm not sure if they're similar to a 'tena lady'
Hi Sprite!
hiya sprite ;o)
Sorry Mica reread my message and I sounded a little testy. My apologies.
Hi Sherry, Bobsta! Hope my connection will behave now. How are you going with the grid?
just googled tena lady. Seems the same.

how are you today, tbear?
I did, mica. Found the wet canine. :)
Am I crazy, but how can there be an me7/36. Aren't the 7's divided by 4? Any clues
wet canine?
gotta get Footballers wives series 4 for bubbles and something for me, dunno what yet.
36/4=9????
Bobsta, was that a long lingering sidelong glance at Joel? Sorry, in a silly mood
9x4=36
Marc: 36 divided by 4 = 9!
Tbear!!!!
Errrr.... 36/4 = 9?
Mica, your clues seem good enough to me.... Brandyjack here at work by the way...
math geniuses abound.
bobsta, I'm HOOKED on footballer's wives ... just found it in time for the end of the season. Can hardly wait for the next go round.
Babbler...quite possibly worse...but the guys are keeping the spirits up...and you honey?
babbler-- that's right. how's your cough?
I think I'm on the mend......... having a beechams now..... had my benylin............. off out to meet a girlfriend!! LOL!! :D
lol BJ, why do u have an alterego at work? :P
Joel/Dachef that's really funny....
mica, what was your clue for the w8, wet doggy or something ?
babbler: wa5/18 + canine
darleen, it is very good, the next series is the last one. Bobsta got me hooked about 6 months ago!!
Gives me something to do while I'm waiting for a machine to load, and some days I don't do the entire puzzle. Don't want to mess up my rankings to badly. Even though I'm sinking like a stone......
I haven't coughed yet today, joelgee : )
Babbler, think what we call a baby who like water/swimming and add a canine instead
thanks mica - gottit!! : )
Bad Tbear, you said a word!
ack! no posting words in the log!
Nump...my ranking are like hell...but enjoy myself playing and chatting....
Yoink...what word...really?
I can't stand the new ratings system. I dropped like a rock!
*puts protective arm around tbear* aaawww, easy guys, the girl's poorly.... !! poor little luv. you ok? anyone hurting you??
Tbear, the w5 in your clue to Babs
No Babbler...but Joel's being really sweet...
What an idiot and I am good at math. Any clues on me736 and mo7/44
Yoink...drug induced slip up...I did warn Bobsta and Joel....my very best Uriah Heep cringing apologies
Marc, just call it a senior moment and move on, LOL. I now have blonde senior moments and it's a b*tch.
mo 7/44: An opening in the earth from which carbon dioxide and other gases escape, usually marking the last stage of volcanic activity.
nump, totally know the feeling had to persist with yesterday's puzzle despite the fact i am SUPPOSED to be studying lol anything to keep the ranking up up up :P
anyone in London here? what did they say about snow?
me7/36 = me + (opposite of bottom) + first two vowels
I'll forgive you Tbear, this time ;-)
I don't know what it is, but I have no focus on words or grid today. Ratings, shmatings!
you got close, didn't you mica? was it you who was 4 words away from completing?
Tar Yoink.......
babbler, they said blizzards tonight and tommorrow, getting really cold, then warming up on sunday, snow by monday
micamonkey-- great clue
I think yesterday's grid knocked the stuffing out of a lot of us, joelgee :/
seriously, bubbles ??????
Joel...it cos you're thinking bout what to pack....isn't it?
Here in Michigan: 17(F). Monday, supposed to be 61(F).
Some days I just plain don't have the time to play except at work and I won't get many words. Frequently have nasty headache by the time I get home (not so nasty when I head off to work, but by 16h00, bloody hell). Save my main acct for the days when I can get serious about it.
thats what the gmtv weather women said at 7.30am this morning
yes, tbear. That's it.
gosh bubbles, as soon I saw your post, the wind picked up!! eeeek! I'm getting the train to croydon now...... oh dear! :/
tbaer don't worry we both had senior moments at the same time. Darleen thank you but maybe it wasn't a senior moment it could have been a blond moment except I am not blond. Just a joke in the midst of humiliation. sherry your clue, so intellectual I am impressed. I don't know if it will help but I will look at it.
Bubbles i know it causes probs...but YAY..I gave up my vehicle some years ago and only have a racing bike now, which has gone into winter storage so I'm on shanksies pony and love SNOW....as long as it clears on the 14th and 26th of Dec,when I'm flying to Espana
oh dear, its ping it down here at the minute, but then i am at whipps x so its always dull here!!! Make sure you put on socks, hat, gloves and scarf!!
hey Marc, no need to feel humilated. Many's the time I've tried to slap that square peg in the round hole and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go... :-P
it's come from nowhere here too, bubbles. I must have jinxed it when I asked....... blimey! :/

well, I'm not a teenager but getting perilously close to 65 so have decided to simply stop having bdays. Or else celebrate the 38th anniversary of my 21st bday next week.
Here in Los Angeles, 54 deg F & sunny, anticipated high of 66. Snow - what's that?
Bubbles, how lovely and romantic....I'll be cooking for my mother, brother etc....very lovely but not at all romantic...
No Darleen, that's 21 with 38 years experience.......
sherry, OR + (middle 2 letters of ab4/8)
this year i have no idea where i'll be!!! Far away from being the cook though
Sherry or/4 one smells and the other I don't know what it means but it ends with two 3 letters.
Darleen and probably gorgeous on it...you're a Babbler at the end of the day..
happy thanksgiving, babblers!
I'm gone too, should really at least pretend to do some work
sherry, the other one is OR + (i need to ** my homework) figure out what that ** should be and add it behind OR
Hurshy...happy thanksgiving to you hon
have you brits adopted the holiday too yet?
sorry sherry the or smell clue was for an od word. Maybe i should go too many mistakes today.
sherry, marc's clue about it smelling is my second clue with the silly homework one its an alternate spelling for somebody with a body or**
Mica: I had the homework one actually...just realised!
Marc: don't worry! Mica: I don't have ab4/8...
Konnichiwa, I spy some J-rock *cheesy grin*

fo 6. enemy + "I t--- my jacket on the fence" & drop the last letter...
hurshy, would if I could, but I can't,don't have it...and no we haven't adopted Thanksgiving just wanted to felicitate you
Hi again folks. I checked back in the archives to see how well I did doing yesterday's grid with pen and paper (no chatlog, no clues, no stats etc. ) and I got 283 words out of the 418. Not bad, I suppose, but I think I'll write 'Could do better' in the margin. LOL.
it's ok tbear, jo's hooking me up! :) and thanks for the felicitations.
you get that 4/7, jo?
Nipping off to vacuum carpets now, so anyone who wants any clues will have to type LOUDLY. LOL.
LOL jacula
lotti, from here, all that dark hair looks asian to me are they? or brit?
Jacula How are you today??
Got it Hurshy, thanks. Was having trouble w/ that one for some reason. :-)
Woah, sorry, just nipped away to get a new icon :) I'm gonna be an icon tart today :D Plus, I'll be posting loads of links to j-rock pvs...I will forcibly make you all get in the spirit! ^_^
Hey Speed! Kyo :D
i'm a little stuck on the io6.
*Jac yells over sound of hoover, 'VERY WELL THANKS, SPEEDFREAK'.*:-)
hey Jacula
nevermind, i got unstuck
y5 anyone?
first link posting of the day :D http://www.youtube.com/?v= y_z_p9PedyE miyavi's new single...a painfully happy and hyper song. I love it :D
My family is threatening to limit my babble time, they claim I am ignoring them and the house!!!
I prefer Beach Boys myself.....
Speed ...My boyfriend used to say that, I got rid of him, tho!
lol @ jacula
tbear senior when your bones creek and you can't remember anything anymore. I am 54 but my kids think I behave like a 5 year old I say I am more like 7 at least.
hi five for the beach boys, brandyjack!
Hi BJ :) Mica, sorry i have one foot out of babbleland.....they are Japanese!!!
Well...Miyavi's no Beach Boy, but as it is the official J-rock day (just ask babbler!) I feel it's my duty to post his songs up :D
have i mentioned that i hate me7 words?
LOL Jo, I'll show my family that reply
this is utopia, except me7 is mine, not yours.....
Woah, J-Rock icons? Ahem, just needed to ask Meev_fan if our English Babble homework was as usual.
three cheers for brandyjack!
Speed, they can't make you get off babble...not when you have such a lovely icon :D
LOL speed....;-)
Hyar, it's official j-rock day on babble. And it wasn't even my idea! But no, it wasn't babble for homework today
great clue, Brandyjack. And I second you on the Beach Boys :)
lotti, lol thought they looked exceedingly asian is this japanese theme night or what?! :o *huggles her anime* sorry not much of a j-rock person though
Hyar? Okay, I can't spell today :/
The big green guy is the only j-rocker of any importance....
There's a combination to suit everybosy, "Surfin Usa" covered by Japanese band Melt Banana - it's nuts!
It is Mica.....me neither, i`d do better if i`d actually heard some!!!! Lol
have i further mentioned that i hate mo7s too? and that i really think "moopyet" should be a word?
hurshy...m3 to encounter in the past and (o6 that would mean not see thru as in tights for example) minus the gu in the middle....oh yuk but hard to explain... See you all later teenagers are home and demanding my laptop....xx
Brandyjack...so, so, Not True!
Happy thanksgiving fellow americans!
Heh Mica, I thought my nephew was the only person who used the word "huggle"
hey, same to you smeltz!
yoink - i use "huggle" too, when talking to my cats.
Any Y5 clues on the go?
sorry lizmac - not there yet. hmm...let me monkey...
ye, then a consonant and the 2 lessters - the sound a sheep makes. Hi all!!
hi smeltz!
alright, don't make me beg. mo7 clue anyone?
Hyari, your silence is disturbing me :) Either you've left, or are watching some random Gazette PV. In any case, the english homework we have instead is easy...just need to write down three questions we'd ask Natalie, three we'd ask Tulip and three we'd ask Anne Fine
yoink lol i like the word my nephew likes *hug hug* lol
Hi Fmitch :) Lizmac i was gonna say like zebra with a y, but swap the br round!!!!
I don't feel like playing today...Slaying the beast yesterday took it out of me.
but smeltz, this one is so relaxing. it's like a cool down after a hard work out.
Go on Smeltz....... i dare you!!!!!
Hi lotti that clue works too, mind you it's easy to say that when you have to word!
lotti, i have heard j-rock i kinda prefer j-pop, japanese jazz singers and some less hardcore j-rock... im kinda over my screaming and yelling angsty teenage period
I'm impressed, thank you for the clue!
can't type tonight...urgh.
hey fmitch! *wave*

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!!!!
Nonny look at the 10.16 post :)
any clues on the of/4 9 it MUST be obvious but I cant find it
same to you christa!
mo7: An opening in the earth from which carbon dioxide and other gases escape, usually marking the last stage of volcanic activity.
Hurshy, is your icon one of your cats???? He/she is gooooorgeous! My tabby went to the great catnip patch in the sky three weeks ago and I miss him. he was gorgeous too.
of 4/9 add a short version of a scottish affirmative
oh, i'm so sorry neeny! yes, that's one of my cats. her name is mitten.
of4 rhymes with nay
fmitch, im good but ive been hanging around here for way way way too long lol i just cant get away from the chatlog lol
mica - what's wrong with nice simple clues like "sim. to the little miss who sat on a tuffet"? :)
thanx all...I wouln't have got it without your help tho.
hurshy: lol how about mo7 is my userid on another website lol... totally unhelpful :P and to think i thought i made that word up!!! :P its erm yeah like lil miss muffet... kinda rhymes like muffet, add 2 more letters behind
well obviously i have it now. :)
te 6/18?
te6/18 rhymes with madhatter :P

Hurshy....been in love b/4, but apparently not enough to be tw7pated. :-P More help please.
Hurshy te6/18,walk carefully in very high heels without the second e
nice clues, thanks....
nonny - it's a sound birds make. you know the song about laughing from mary poppins? this word is in it.
Duh.....I'm all a tw7 just thinking how easy it was...NOW!
tw7 is t + w6/30, change the 2nd vowel
brandyjack - good to see you!
lol at least u got it nonny
the love thing is from bambi, if my memory serves.
Actually Nonny, your clue was better than any of the others....
Thanx brandyjack!!!
*hurshy pouts*
nonny - really good kojak
just popping in for a few. miya-- you here? I dressed up for you.
WOW, joelgee. what a costume.

ot5 is an animal. furry, swims.
Hi Bobsta *waves back* :o)
thank you, thank you.
Hi lottijw just back from school oh and can you give me clues for pretty much anything. and to anyone else that probably gives you the idea I'm STUPID but I'm not! remember I'm only nine and where's zubie?

hiya miya *cheesier grin*
What a shock Bobsta.I haven`t been away for so long have I?Anne Robinson eat your heart out!
any hints for the f5?
*staring a little too fixedly at Joel's and Bobsta's icons* er...
Hey! It's Miyavi!
As for your clue's Hurshy, they left me clueless. Although it did point out the tw4/8 and tw5/18 for me.....
macadam: hi and eh?
fe5 add what happens to wet wood, backwards
Are you talking about me or someone's icon...?
got it, hurshy, thanks
i must be tired to have missed that one. Think I'll take a break and start decorating the tree. Check in later...
brandyjack - you just need to get up on your disney movies. :)
Hi Sam, Zubie finished this morning :) to5/12 a pole with carvings used by indian tribes (i think)
yes
Bobsta,to put it simply.Boy you`ve changed.!!!!
i am in need of the do5/20 and a do4/5....I have the French artist and show fondness for....any help will be much appreciated...thank you very much in advance
Does Disney do Terminator or Farscape?
i don't know who does terminator or farscape. :)
I'm only half awake, but I still can't get the mo 7, even after reading all the wonderful clues. Anybody care to try again? Or should I just have some coffee and try again later? What does the word MEAN? That might help!
OK - house now looks like home and dinner prepared - all I need now are the smelling salts cos he'll faint when he gets home! Hope you like the icons Miyavi - I do haven't looked this young for a veeerrryy long time!
mo 7 - An opening in the earth from which carbon dioxide and other gases escape, usually marking the last stage of volcanic activity.
harp - mica posted the def just a bit ago if you want to google it
sorry lottijw can't work it out
see hurshy, there are people who appreciate definitions ;)
*confused*
well, i did get it from your def, mica, so i shouldn't complain too much.
Actually, a to5/12 is a carved icon used by many superstitous early tribes to represent the god that favors them. Some were tribe oriented, some were personal. The massive poles used by Native Americans are an extreme form of the art.
do5 - nike slogan: "just __ __"
ah i see, well, i'm told today is either turkey or miyavi day so i chose miyavi. bit of a mistake cos i thought miyavi was a girl judging by the images on google. tbear soon put me right though.
Evening All : ) Just stick my head around the door before food
For the mo7, think of a female smurf and lose the smur....
two do 4/5s are homonyms - the showing fondness one and its mate
hey Anj ;o)
Got it, mica! I actually knew the word once I got the definition! I live 800 miles from Mount St. Helen's, but I figured, know thy enemy, and learned about volcanoes.
Hi, y'all...movieman's back... Hmmmm...seems the puzzle won't accept a 4 letter d word for a squirrel's home... I wonder why... Won't accept "twite" either, which I know is a member of the finch family of birds...
thanks hurshy but i dont know the nike slogan!!!
do 5/20 - "yippee kai-yai-yay, get along little do5s"
any help with the po7?
mo - if you want something done right you've got to ** ** yourself.
harpjane: lol i need to move near a volcano then! lol i have an exam on natural hazards on monday and i swear i never knew mo7 was volcano related lol
Ok Sam...how about Roger the Do6/30 or even Duck Do****s. Although you don`t need the s You can drop the last letter for a do5/18 too :)
Oh well, the hailstones have started! Winter has reached us this afternoon.
po7 builds on prev po4.
Evening Bobsta : ) Well, 'scuse me for now. Feeding time : D

Oh hi Anj
Unbelievable, just got back from a phone call and I got to put in a cooked smoked turkey into the oven to warm. I got it from Chefshop.com best food site on the internet, tell them I sent you as I did some consulting work for them, great people. Anyway, Sherry I copied your first volcano description into google and lo and behold mo7/44 came up. Thanks
Mica, Thanks. It a mosaic on the side of a building in Tokyo. My nephew took the photo. He knows the name of the singer, I don't. But everyone in Japan knows him, I guess.
hurshy: lol i know i realize but hey we call her miyavi too ;)

hurshy, hmm? refresh for...??

Do you want any more Sam??
that means you lottijw
Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to you Dr_G
macadam, NICE icon lol
you too hilary!
I think Mica meant the po7. And it's British slang for a homosexual male. Build on the po4/8. Or combine the po4/8 with the o5
Sam have you got og4,Shrek is one.
Hi Snowy, Lotti, Miya, Hurshy...everyone : ) Just doing the food thing so back on later
Thankyou I would love more help!
lol sorry theres no po8
Hi and Bye :)
Sam wa8/75 is what you get from a tap....plus a pet animal :)
does anyone else think dr_g would fit in really well with the mythbusters?
MIca, I wondered why you thought he was so cute! You can get your own Lime Cat. Just Google her.
Thanks macadam make that three best freinds!
Speedfreak Sam - there's a gr 6/24 - Santa will have lots of these in shops all over the place.
Anj i would love a coffee if you`re making ;)
Speaking of Myth Busters. I read this morning that the whole tryptophan thing is a myth. It's not true.
wait, are you saying it IS a myth or it's not true that it's a myth?
Ready Dr.G? No kidding ... off to Google I go ..
http://physorg.com/news8453.ht ml
fo6 got the enemy but can't figure out hilltop any other clues.
*really* not ready ;-)
Marc , instead of hilltop ... "My jacket got t--- on the fence" and drop the last letter.
marc - to enemy, add what happens to wet wood, backwards
harpjane: lolol no he's not so cute hahha limecat wins ANYDAY! :P and u sound like u're selling limecat "you can have one of your own today! just google her at limecat.google.com" lol
at 7? Does it build on at 4?
at7 - no building. it means to try. add a te5.
Wow ... DR. G. I feel so lied to :-( LOL
Thanks haz1558 Thanks lottijw thanks To many freinds to count let me see 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 shortly after 98976523!
fe6/27 is Brit spelling (proper) of fe5/16
harpjane, at7 = right now you are at7ing to find out what the word is it means to try something
ty hurshy. I didn't have the te word either!
Also, speedfreak sam there are two idiots - both tw 4/8
but harp, it's a real word and it means to try. you can totally get it. (the te5 is to try to get someone to do something naughty)
There's a do4 idiot, too.
oh i see you said "didn't" not "don't", so you're all set i guess. :)
Marc, the hilltop -backwards it is what happens to vegetation as it dies back.
i think i really should go to bed its 1.11am :P
sadly .. there is a limecat.net ....
ok so why DO we get so sleepy after thanksgiving then?
Sam you`re brilliant you see, now you have the longest word in the grid today!!! What about fa6/27 it`s what you`d get if you eat too much junk food :)
lol jo you tried?! :P
Hursy ... maybe we just simply eat too much. Overloading on carbs can make you sleepy.
well, it's very pleasant, anyway. :)
Yes, I'm a shamless Google W*ore. ;-)
the snow has ceased to fall here in CT.
Marc my favourite fella on Babble....T**gone!!!
Woah...Just got back from a nasty bout of dead-computer syndrome and saw that Dr God was on :) Dr God, if you're still here, welcome to official babble j-rock day :)
see you all tomorrow - i better go finish getting the house ready for company! :)
Miyavi- J-rock? Did I miss something?

See you Hurshy :)
Well Macadam, i`m not exactly shy about the fact now...am i ????!!!!!!!!
Shy-------------you!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
thanks lotti! your good at this!
Um...*turning suddenly very shy and quiet* We elected Babbler to be our sort of president...thing. I was going to have a, um, rather nasty sex ed. class, so in honour of that she got everyone on babble to post bananas as their icons. I didn't have the lesson in the end, so they gave me the gift of a j-rock day :D
Sam, what's your icon. Is that a j-rocker?
Sam i`ve still got loads to get myself :/ Have you got ot5/10 a furry animal that swims?
Hey...has anyone noticed Dr God is in the grid today? Divine intervention :)

Okay, now I'm offended. Why is 'poot' not a word?!
my mother-in-law used to always say...."excuse me, I pooted".....How funny is that?
Exactly, Nonny! Also, poot is the universal sound effect. A train horn...POOT POOT!
Nonny add a da 4/5 to get your io6.
Nonny, Um, I think it depends on what she DID right before she pooted!
Just can't find the of 4/9 anywhere, or the or 4/8. Any clues, anybody?
thanx haz1558!!
hydra - of4 is what King Kong would have said to Miss Wray the actress (her first name rhymes with her second)
Greetingsd, fellow Babblers! How goes it?
Hey Jera :) *gasps* It's j-rock icon day!
The or 4/9 is related to sceptre and ?
i thought it was dog day...
Why is the name of a town in Arkansas allowed?
If I knew what j-rock was, I might join in...
Brilliant clues. Thank you both!
You're welcome. Time for me to do something about feeding the family. Seee you all later.

Thanx Anj....you saved the day!
Nonny, it's Y plus an anagram of Grizzly B... : )
y/w Judirae : D
Hello, i've been playing for a while but haven't spoken up before.
Anj, thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm done and out of here. Have dishes to do, a tree to decorate and presents to wrap. Plus I know there's a nap in there somewhere. Bye to all. See you tomorrow.....
'nite Nonny - have fun : ) Hi QueQue : ) You've picked a quiet day, although I suspect it will get more crowded as Thanksgiving warms up lol
Hi Anj. Ok, I'm done. I cheated and used a2z for my last word. I'll say hello again next time.
Congrats QueQue - see you next time
any clues for the po-7-44 pleez
Hey folks
Sha, take a gander at my 2:12 clue for Judi
Evening Yoink : )
How's it going Anj?
You still here then Anj!!! I couldn`t resist another peep!!
I'm all done. Just patrolling the outer frontiers helping Babblers in distress. How about you? Hey Lotti, can't keep away hun??
Just coming back to it, got the majority done at work today, just 35 to go

Have you many left to go sis???
lotti, 16 left but I'm burning some music at the mo, so the search has slowed down a bit!
i've a missing tw 4/8 any clues pls?
I haven`t a clue how to burn music!!!
Good eev-a-ning, all. So quiet here. Over stuffed usians are likely watching sports (nodding off) on tv and getting ready for the later afternoon raid of leftovers. Ah, tradition.
Lotti, lighter fluid works well, or petrol :)
any clues for the mo 5 12 pleeeeeeeez
Hi yoink :)
Linda, there's the swearword, the birdsound without the T on the end, and the idiot : )
Hope you had a good one mab :) I`d better go stack the dishwasher and make some coffee. See you all tomorrow :)
thanks lotti
Ciao Lotti.
oops i mean anj
'bye sis, I'll see you monday. Have a nice weekend :)
Are you going away???
Yup. Say hi to mom for me too? :)
Evening Mab. Is there a full programme today then?? Sky are showing the Atlanta game over here. Sha, there are 3 mo5/12s - any particular one?? : )
Will do :) Have a great time, see you Monday then. Byeeee :o)
y/w Linda : ) 'bye Lotteeeeee : D
I think so. Football is on and also basketball. Oh and the parade in NYC.
Hi mab :)
Hi, dear Lola. Has our Miyavi been on yet?
I flicked over to the football earlier on but it was Mariah Carey singing at half-time so I quickly switched back over.
Oh, that was a close call Yoink.
one last word or/4 a clue would be soooooooooo helpful!!
mab, not sure, I haven't been playing for long. yoink...eeeeewwww!
Yoink, I'm seeking sanctuary in the UEFA cup lol. Talking of Miya, where is she?? I've got a j-rock icon, i've been listening to Dir en Grey, Loudness & X Japan all night and not a peep lol : )
Even the presenter in the studio said "Mariah Carey there looking fine as usual, not sure about the song or the lip-synching though..."
Judi, german name - it's palindromic as well : )
anj i think its the last on the list
Anj, me too, rooting for Bolton, they are only a half hour from me.
Yoink, any wardrobe malfunctions??? lol ; )
I love that sort of incisive, probing coverage, Yoink.
The clothes stayed firmly fixed unfortunately.... Anj, have you heard of Polysics?
sha, it's a slogan or working principle Same as the previous mo5/12 but with a hoop on the end instead : )
...polysics? Bad parrot??
thank u anj sometimes 2 obvious 2 c lol
*groan* No, a Japanese band, my icon today, they're a band I've seen live a couple of times, work checking out
Worth, not work
Political scientists, no doubt.
Anj thank you for the brit slang site. I wish I'd had it when I first started watching eastenders, about every fifth word of which I understood.
I have to say that this grid is giving me a new-found respect for my monkey typing skills! :)
Thanks Yoink - will check them out : ) Mab, Eastenders is a blight upon our nation's viewing. I'm not a fan lol
...it's driving you bananas the?? ; )
'dodat' is a word! I hear 'no mommy, I don't wanna dodat' all the time round here!
eastenders very popular hear, of course, and now available only on "premium channels." I've not seen it (except when in england) for years -- back in the days when Den and Ang ran the pub and Rollie the poodle was about. I did love it.
lol Lo : ) Mab, I only have to suffer when the folks visit. They are vetoed at all other times in this household bwah hah hah!
Okay babe, time for me to start asking for help. Please nudge me towards the do5/18 and do6/30 *batting eyelashes*
Hi folks. Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating it!
Hi artlady! Happy Thanksgiving to you :)
Ever played do*** ball at school?
hi artlady! and i am done! yah!
Hi Artlady : ) Happy Thanksgiving Lola, think Jammy D..... biscuit ; )
Hi Artlady, I'd give thanks if I had had the day off too :(
*sigh* Thanks brandyjack! :)
Congrats to you, mom. I may or may not start this puzzle...turkey's done, just waiting for my husbands relatives to show (they are ALWAYS late).
Hey :)
I actually have 5 days in a row off...decadance!
Hi Poos, Brandyjack
Well done poo's mom! :) Thanks babe :)
Hi MF :)
Ah, good evening Miya : )
Hi miyavi :)
Ciao...a piu tardi! Hi Miya, bye all!
Hey Yoink :) Anj, there was something disturbing about that greeting! I think it's because my maths teacher says hello to me in the same way lol!l
And hey to Lola and Artlady...how is everyone?
You see your teacher in the evening? Extra-curricular activities? ;-)
any clues on the po6/21...I have the one that is Harry's last name....plzzzz
Ewww...Yoink! My maths teacher is about one hundred years old and smells like a neglected pond
Miy, I know what you mean. It's a written version of the Mommy Voice : )
Ahh, eau de neglected pond, one of my favourite fragrances
Think chips.
Ouwa, you want chips with that? Though clue might ap-peel ; )
Yoink, it is typical old man teacher smell. Mixed slightly with gin :)
miyavi, does my icon mean anything to you? I just googled j-rock and liked this one, hope it's okay?
The mommy voice? Is that an actual term? Myself, I can see my maths teacher in my head...sitting the way all men inexplicably sit, only straighter so his knees click...*shudders*
*squinting at icon* If I'm right - and I'm probably not, my contact lenses have gone AWOL - it looks like it could be one of the off shots for A$hita, Genki ni naare :D
DUH>>>>you can tell it is a holiday here...my brain has the day off...thanks
I know I recognize Anj's though...was listening to Loudness this morning :)
...! DeG's Vulgar is retailing for $54 in the States : /
Ouwa, I missed that one too lol
It may not be though, Lola, the head looks like it could be someone else...
Really?! I guess it's because they're import copies, but...a copy is already on it's way to me :D
miyavi, I get that a lot....
*slips in contacts* In fact...it's, er, not MYV...can't actually figure out who it is :)
I only knew 3 Japanese bands before coming on Babble, Polysics, Melt Banana and Guitar Wolf, of which only Polysics I really liked, though Melt Banana were good live
I have one 4 letter word to go...do4/5 near the bottom....have the french artist and the excessive fondness ones
if I get some help, I can go back to eating more turkey
Yoink, what sort of bands are they? Are they rock, pop, or "death-metal-filth-fetish-roc k"? (the category Jonathon Ross put Dir en Grey into)
Three left and I'm too tired to care about the damn fish. Can someone please help me with ot5/10, ro5/10 and ta6/18??
Ouwa, sounds like the thing you open & shut to get in/out of a roomy??
I have that one ANJ
Isn't the ot5/10 the mammal that lives in water? Or is there more than one?
ot5/10 - next time you go for a chinese, order Chicken Tarka. It's like Chicken Tikka, only 'o...... LMAO :D
*sigh* No, that's the one miyavi...hand me the fish please.
Anj, chances are it's actually ot5/10. That's why I avoid those places :/
*hands large haddock with long, spiked up, blond hair, scary make up and piercings* The haddock has gone j-rock too :)
OK, ouwa, how about two x two letter words which seperately might be an order to get busy??
Oooh! A filth-fetish-fish! :D
Lo, don't be silly. It's more likely to be cat, dog, rat or pigeon. Only the plumpest, choicest.... no, let's not go there...
*cheesy grin* a filth-fetish-fish...Kyo inspired :D
Polysics are kinda electronic-noise-rock, Melt Banana are even noisier noise-rock, short sharp shocks of songs, and guitar Wolf are a bit more conventional indie-punk rock kinda stuff. Funny, each of them to me has a cover that sticks in my mind, Polysics with "My Sharona", Melt Banana with "Surfin' USA" and Guitar Wolf with "Summertime blues"
Ah...do they sing in English or Japanese? Or Engrish...which seems to be what Panic Channel chose :) Can someone please tell me what "what self bades street, stay with me alone to sun" means?!
Oh my goodness~~~ I forgot to thank you Anj..I was so excited about finishing, I danced around the turkey ( which I obviously am) and totally forgot...being 69.....quite a sight!! anyway many many thanks
No. Let's not. You're cooking on saturday.
I'm listening to Loudness at the mo, and trying to track dow which albums my Dir en Grey songs are from...
thanks...ANJ....finally got it...sometimes it is the easy ones that are the hardest to see
y/w welcome Judirae. Did the turkey get to lead then?? lol : D
Hey, just name the song and I'll name the album :) ...I hope...
Um...did you lot not see that I needed two more clues?!
giggle
Ouwa, in my experience, it's ALWAYS the easy ones that ar hardest to find LOL :' )
Guitar Wolf I think English, Polysics both, and Melt Banana, you try listening to them and telling me! I haven't got a clue.
bye all...see you tomorrow
'bye ouwachita :)
will give a clue if anyone needs one...
If you can't tell, it'll probably be Engrish. "I believe was rocking my dream" :D
Anj, have you tried allmusic.com? indispensible
Hey, this could be a good test for me :) Try me
Sorry Lola *looks contrite* ro5/10 - half a schwarm in the Luftwaffe ta6/18 - body art : )
OKaaay... Erode, Karasu. Macabre & Scars : )
Macabre is from Macabre :) Erode is from Missa, their first mini album... Got a feeling Karasu is on a single...if not, then either Vulgar or Withering to Death (nice and vague) And...I wasn't aware Dir en Grey have a song called 'Scars'...could be on the playlist for WtD, which I haven't seen yet :/ Scars is a song by X Japan, though
Thanks Anj, got the ta6 but I can't make head or tail of your ro5 clue :/
Yay! Just monkeyed it, I'm done :)
Lola, when something has gone off it is ro6, take off the last letter
Lol, better not mention gruppe or geschwader then : ) OK babe, you're SA'n, someone knocks on the door, you grab the rifle, open the window and ket the r.... out. Lose the I, double the cuppa and add an E
Cheers Miy. Think you're right about Scars. Hmmm, must have mislabelled that one... : /
lol, no! And it's a handgun, not a rifle ;)
And I'm done! Woo-hoo!
Go yoink! :)
Oops...I was wrong about Karasu though...it's from Kisou :/
...And you're welcome, If I can remember my manners!
Yay! Yoink :) Finished then Lo?? no worries Miy lol
Nice one Yoink!
I am :)
And nice one Lola :D
Well done Lola :)
One of the titles of the song had me confused, though Anj...just please tell me, is 'keloid milk' (er...Kyo's words, not mine) going to be something I'll want to find out about? I know what Keloid as and it's not nice!
Miy, it's just the Jap/Eng language thing again. Keloid is scar tissue, so it's just getting descriptive with plasma methinks : )
Well done babe : ) Slow dance again??
Miy, i've found another. I've got The Final as DeG but that's an X Japan track too isn't it?? : /
Thanks Anj...knowing Kyo, that makes a lot of sense...like when I was trying to decipher the word 'mazohyst'...turns out the poor dude got confused between Japanese and English *again*
MF, dipping into my first taste of Miyavi right now...
Mmm, lovely. I've got the OP on already ;)
Yoink, really? Which song? *calm down Miy*
Hatachi Kinenbi, I have the first 6 songs off that album so far and I'm checking them out
Right guys, time for me to get some shut-eye. I'll see you all on monday, have a great weekend :) 'nite babe, sweet dreams :) (((xx)))
Great...Hatachi Kinebi, Peter Pan Syndrome :) Bit of a strange song, have you heard Girls, Be Ambitious?
Have a lovely weekend, Lola.
See you later Lola :)
*pops on just in time to say gnite to lola*
Bye Lola :) MF, I will have done in about 10 minutes
Nite Lola ; ) (((xx))) Sweet dreams : )
Brilliant :) That was the first Miyavi song I ever successfully translated...then found an English translation for on a site two days later >_<
...just been listening to Increase Blue. That's quite a good track as well. Hi EvaN : D Have you survived the turkey???
evening all! im full of turkey and sleepy now! hehe
*fights urge to throw arms around Anj and proclaim everlasting love*
so very yummy...turkey, cornbread stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce...we are all taking a break before dessert -- we have a choice of apple pie, pumpkin pie, flan, or strawberries with cream. :)
evana! no tackling anyone? It MUST be the tryptophan (sp).
missing an ab/4, have the one that means to assist
feeling too fat to tackle anyone...hehe
Flan, please. And apple pie.
im gonna opt for strawberries + cream...and maybe i can hunt down some ice cream while im at it. ;)
I love to make apple pie...no idea why. I feel really housewifey when I'm doing it though..the next day I'll start weeping at nursery rhymes and adverts for wholesome brown bread :D
Peri, a farewell : ) oooo! strawberries & cream. I hope it's clotted cream dear or you're really missing out : D
oh, its hand-whipped by my daddy! he wouldnt serve it any other way!
Miy: my icon is a bit retro, but I am going to Anj's music sight tonight and I'm going to finally (if I figure out site) listen to some Japan rock. Finally getting curious.
*wraps Mab in massive hug* yay :D
Wait...what are your normal musical tastes like?
(hugs back) Shall I start with Miyavi?
Depends who you're into usually...lots of people are repulsed by dir en grey...but that's usually after I translate the lyrics for them :)
Mab, not sure who's streamable on there, so try and find a radio tag for j-rock : ) EvaN nooooooo! Whipped cream... no! Bad EvaN lol Must be clotted, or double in a worst case scenario. Clotted cream does not come off the spoon without industrial grade assistance : D
I'm jazz, blues, classical; so this will be a departure, but it's about time I stepped into the 21st century.
hey, youve never HAD my dads homemade whipped cream. its pretty thick stuff!
In that case I'd definitely try starting with something softer...Dir en Grey can go OTT sometimes...listen to Pink Killer sometimes if you don't believe me :D Some lighter Miyavi may be a good start...Girls be ambitious or Coo Quack Cluck (don't ask!)
Need help with G's please. I have the color and the cave. What am I missing?
Well, there they go. For some reason not what I was expecting, but not bad, needs further listening to develop a proper opinion
Oh, oh, oh -- clotted cream! yum. can be gotten in posh markets, of which there are none in my corner of nowhere. Just as well as I'm financially compromised.
EvaN, OK e-mail me some lol Don't forget the sprinklies : )
Great :) What were you expecting?
gonna go enjoy my berries now... might be able to hop online later, but im sure youll all be gone by then... gnite all!
I'll try numerous bands. Would like to hear girls be ambitious. Appeals to my quaint feminist notions.
*musing to self* Berry...that's a dir en grey song... *snaps to* er, I mean, later :)
ENJOY evana!!!!!!!!!!
'nite EvaN - enjoy! : D
Good...name appealing, that's a hopeful start :) The translated lines for that song are stuck permanently in my head!
You know, I have no idea, yet it still wasn't what I was expecting. Heavier than I was thinking, and then in that song you mentioned, the vocals surprised me when they came in as it sounded like a routine heavy metal song until that point
Well, thanks for checking it out :) I don't know why, I just love it when people are open minded towards it...so thanks :)
I'm open minded to any music there is, I refuse to be pigeon-holed *looks around furtively and flees from approaching pigeon-holes*
Miy, how about Clever Sleazoid and Deity??
That's great, I wish I was as open minded as that...I'm stuck very firmly in my j-rock pigeon-hole. It's really quite cosy...:D
Anj...the albums, you mean?
Yup, Amazon USA has a good list of albums but i've still got a few loose tracks...
Is everyone finished but me?
No peri, I'm still at it. Downloading the stats to have a proper go.
I feel better now. Lots of chatting so I thought everyone was done.
Richtig...Clever Sleazoid is a single, and Deity *concentrates* is on Macabre... ...the very first track :D And it's, um, all sung in Russian...o_O
I have 80 words - let me know if there are any I can help you with and I'll shout for help if I need you.
Haz, I am up to 105. I will help if I can
Cheers MiY : )
Peri and Haz, I'm here to assist if you like :)
Hey, you forget you are giving me a chance to talk about Dir en Grey, I should be thanking you :D
Oh good, reinforcements.
Yoink I need help with the G words. I have the color and the cave.
Same here, Haz, Peri - sing out of you need help : )
There's go 4 - think of blood and ?
When a bull sticks it's horn through someone it's said to go4 them
Also, shorten your cave by 2
Yoink, I did that. STill need ge4, please
Peri you need to ge4 clue for it!
Yoink, thanks. had tried that one with two t's but it didn't work.
peri, there's 'a' vowel on the end ; )
woot! Umbrella, complete with mad chicken noises now : )
thanks, Anj, found it. Need an fa4, got the kismet one. Also need do6.
Just found the do6.
Do6, there was an artful one in Oliver Twist
Same here...:) I finished the translation yesterday, so have been getting as much of it as I can :D
Peri, a passing phase, with a hoop on the end : )
Miy, couldn't find artwork for Clever Sleazoid or Fukai but nailed all the rest.
thanks, Anj, found it just as I saw your clue.
...artwork? *hangs head* ignorance...
Wow, I'm watching the live Umbrella...it always amazes me that me makes those incredible choking noises on stage as well...especially when he did Mazohyst of Decadence.
Miy, for iTunes. I'm in the process of tracking it down for all 4500 plus tracks : /
*brain parachutes out to safety*
I love itunes, it doesn't work properly at work so I have to use winamp, but at home I always use it
Need help with me7 and mo7 and the mo5's. I have an mo5/12
listening to radio now; if you go to npr.org when you have a few minutes you can listen to stories about thanksgiving menus in new orleans -- nothing like what's standard in the rest of the country-- and Missippi Delta music in the '40's (fascinating). I'm addressing anybody I guess. This is too good not to share. (Can listen anytime)
I don't trust my computer to go to any radio sites...it just about handles youtube :/
Mo5s, there is a credo or saying, that word with another vowel on the end, and a word like a roadside place you stay in overnight with a different vowel on the end
Peri, me7 - m3 - as in bumped into someone you know, and o4 - gem or stone, drop the L and replace with an E
mab -listen to npr everyday
It's silent though, until you click on the story you want. But I don't understand how computers handle these things.
wooo hoooo and done!! evening everybody ;o)
Congrats Bobsta, the old lurk and jump out ploy eh?
Okay, this has been driving me mad... http://www.youtube.c om/?v=V5xj4jMliU4 does anyone know who sings the song that's playing in the background of this fan video? (wow...sounds like I'm doing a radio comp) It's been driving me nuts for days...
Renfield: as a virtual recluse (have been ill) it's all I listen too, all the time. I don't think the radio has been off for the past six months at least.
Peri, mo7 Grand M... Tarkin from Star Wars plus Steven Spielberg's cute alien guy forwards, then backwards : )
you got it Yoink been here since about 10ish (hee hee)
Bobsta! A woot! is in order I believe : )
Anj, can you help me with the mo7 and the mo5's.
woot!!!!
Bobsta! sneaky. You're gorgeous. Your icon, I mean.
Mab, isn't it though? My beloved MYV :D
hi mab, yes its some BLOKE called miyavi i believe
Peri, 3 x mo5s - place you drive to for overnight stay, but with a T on the end, not an L - reverse the last two letters of the above word - Drop the E and replace with an O
I would look up 'woot' on the britslang site, but I think it must just be what it sounds like, like yippee.
Yup, that's Miyavi :D *whispers to icon* "they don't mean it, they know you're a guy really"
MF, Shazam tells me it is Myslovitz with "Krak W"
Yoink...wha?
Hi,I'm back...snivel snivel snivel... Just to show Mivayi solidarity Miy,i'm off to change my pic for you....ps I'm fed up,just had to cancel seeing my oldest friend on his birthday tomorrow..cos of this blasted bug....moan moan moan
Anj, having trouble with the mo7. Haven't seen Star Wars. so not sure what comes in the middle.
Shazam is a number you can phone up and put your mobile phone next to music, it listens for about 20 secs then hangs up, then texts you with the artist and name
miyavi: i honestly didn't know it's a fella, i said earlier that i thought it was a really cute girlie. tbear soon put me 'straight'.
Wargh...got to go...no school tomorrow though :D A definite woot! Aww, Tbear *hugs* solidarity, sister :)
ha ha ha, bobsta! Not fair for them to look prettier than me!
Well...I guess it's good that you said a cute girl...however, to me and many other fangirls, he's a very hot guy :D Ooh, leave me in my insanity :) See you all
Bye bye MF :)
Hey Bear, it's all in a good cause dear ; ) 'nite Miya : D
Miyavi...refresh..back tattoo view
Ciao, Miy.
ttfn miyavi *waves* hey tbear, still feel like sh**?
Hi Everyone---Happy Thanksgiving and how is eveyone doing on todays puzzle?
Ooh, Tbear...I have that picture on my wall :D He's got a whole song on his back! Ouch...

*stop getting distracted* Okay...really am off now. For good. Really.
Straight Bobsta....you wanna talk about it love??
Bobsta....you have no idea....need a night of laughter, buddies and beer (or gin) (or both)
LOL tbear right thats it i'm outta here i'm not going through all that again. :D
Bobsta...promise not to tease anymore...don't go!!
Up to the Os. Need help with the or4's and the ot4 please.
Off to get a Bobsta friendly icon...now miys gone to bed....
Don't go bobsta!
Ot4 is a character out of the Simpsons if you watch it
found the ot4, just need help with the or4. I have the one that starts like a command.
(hee hee) *sneaks back in* tbear, a good slug of gin'll do you the world of good hun.
Yoink, nope don't watch the Simpsons.
ooh can we change icons now? whats the theme?
Some tatoo! (this is my new response to everthing surprising: 'some xx!')
ok, it is or followed with what everyone was just saying to Miayi_fan, with the last letter off...
DJs.....Yay the very best
Just to say sorry Bobsta
I think we shall have to cosult Babbler, but I think we should be theme-free until something really grabs us. Besides, tomorrow is Saturday. Less traffic.
no need tbear honey, I really love that icon!!!
Yes, that was a crappy clue and yes I did spell Miyavi_fan's name wrong
i hope tomorrow isn't saturday cos if it is, i've lost a day somewhere
Tomorrow is saturday? Work will be surprised at that
Oops, as Babble says. Its a holiday here so it feels like Friday already. You've not lost a day, Bobsta, I've just lost my mind.
Mab...too much Thankgiving alcohol love?
I wish it was saturday tomorrow *sigh*
right then, time for a ciggie then bed to watch 'Sky Captain' cos i bought it today. goodnight everyone, hope you feel a lot better tomorrow tbear honey. xxx
One of my cats who sleeps in her basket next to me is making that 'I'm warning you that I'm clawed and dangerous' noise in her sleep...it's really funny..Feel like waking her but she'd probably claw ME
Need help with P's. po5 and one of the po6 ( I have Harry's last name)
I have no such excuse. However I'm thinking of buying a bottle of shiraz tomorrow, but that would hardly explain today's confusion. Let's just say my grasp of reality is tenuous these days. Feeling any better today, tbear? Have you consulted doctor?
The po 6 is a vegetable.
Po6 comes mashed and chipped...
Nite bobsta....skip that ciggy...you don't need it..you're just trying to kill me really!! See you tomorrow
See ya Bobsta
There are two po6, I need the other one
po 6/21 - either Harry or the vegetable used in mash, chips, crisps etc
Nite Bobsta. Cute kitty dj, tbear. Love when kitties dream with little growls and twitchy paws, claws extended, then retracted.
No mab...I'm a great believer in just letting bugs run their course...tomorrow will be day 5 tho!! If you can you should try,I think it was called Black Chook, apparentely it's great...have been looking for it here but so far no luck...still whilst looking found a Chateau Neuf du Pape on special offer, saving it for my birthday next month...yum
hmmm..seen chook in stores, but not tried it. Maybe. Well I hope the course of your infirmity has been thoroughly run, then.
tbear - I know what you mean about letting things run their course, but don't leave things too long in case things get nasty. I speak from experience!
KONICHIWA !!!! *hic* hi gang!! Hi Anj!! Nite Miya, soz I missed you : D
Hi Everyone, I have one word to finish and it's the po7. Any clues? thanks
Hi Babbler, bye Babbler! And bye everyone else
Thankyou mab...me too. Think Joelgee recommended the wine, discussing shiraz, one evening...
Agreed. Consider torgone's son. I hate antibiotics and their over-use is dangerous for everyone, but just a check can't hurt.
bye Mr Yoink : )
cliff notes anyone?
Heh, you can just call me Yoink you know, I only use the Mr prefix if my name is already taken
To the po 4/8, add the last three letters of po 6/21 the Harry one.
pezzie...it's not the derogatory one for gay man is it?
bye yoink. hello babbler! sounds like you're feeling well again?
I like Mr Yoink ; ) teehee !
well, a nite out with a good buddy always does the trick, doesn't it? :D
Fair enough then! G'night!
I don't know if it was, but it took what I put in. Thanks, I'd never heard the word before
Hi Babbler : ) Good night ??
Babbler...you had a good one then? If you all knew my doctor you'd not go either...think you'd have to be carrying a limb in a bag to get a response....he's ok but so laid back...you end up feeling like an idiot
Britishism, pez.
tbear - change your doctor!
Now I can get to the ads. I haven't figured out where I'm going to go shopping tomorrow. LOL
great night, Anj, Tbear ! :D tbear, you need a new doc, hun. I'm sure there's a way you can do that. I'll think of something tomorrow when my brain is in gear again :)
Aaaak! you're a brave soul pezzie!
so what did I miss tonight? cliff notes anyone? : D
LOL, two years ago I got in line at 4 in themorning for a laptop at comp usa. They only had 10 and I was the 10th one. That was luck. I don't think I'm going out that early this year.
i detest doctors who prescibe pills for every little affliction. Almost as much as I hate the idiots clogging the emergency room waiting to get those damn pills.
Anj...my doctor comes to the coach sometimes...that's kinda weird....especially as what I tend to say is 'How are you' as he watches me slurping gin....ha
BJ, what's your icon? : )
Night all, thanks for the help.
T'is insanity. (but mazel tov on last year's buy)
King of Japanese ragtime..... To heck with j-rock. Rag is where it's at....
tbear...was reading posts for clues. how's your foot?
lol BJ ! :)
Hmmm. Looking at it, I can see where it's hard to tell what he is. Obvious to me cause i pinned him up there. Godzilla.
clue for the ro6 please
nite pezzie :)
Babbler...I've adopted Joelgee...putting him in the wardrobe, next to the bank manager...he's been looking after me....Anj felt like a gooseberry!!
Wait, wait, wait --- Japanese Ragtime? Wha? Your icon looks like ancient japanese sculpture.
awwww, tbear!!! lol!! :D
Peri...ro6 turn round and round
nevermind, found the ro6. almost done
thanks, tbear, found it before I saw your clue.
Bear, a little of what you fancy is always good for the soul OK, got to split now. Have a nice weekend folks. I shall be back to Babble on Fractal Monday : D
Every time he visits Tokyo, they break out the cryin rags..... He does a wonderful charleston on city hall.... and the nuclear power plants..... and mono-rails.....
awwww Anj!!! I'm so sorry to have missed you! flippin trains. I'd have been home an hour ago otherwise. Have a fab time and see you on Monday ! :D
WHY Anj, what'll you be up to all weekend........ Hope to catch you both on Saturday....put some vitamin C in your champagne...to guard against me
Oh, Godzilla, I get it. Was he a fan of 'japanese ragtime?' Oh, nevermind...
Songbird...hiya....that foot's a cold/flu virus hun...thanks for asking
He was the creator I think.
bj - everytime i see the biggest j-rocker of all time- i feel the earth move under my feet, i feel the sky come tumbling down - or is that the buildings tumbling down?
If it's whacking you on the head, does it really matter where it came from?
Brandyjack very worried about the polar bears up your way, sounds like they could be having a very bad time if there's no freeze....
Or a late freeze
Finished!
Sounds like heavenly weekend planned. Enjoy! Bye Anj. Say hello to everyone for me.
Great Haz......take a break
I was checking on the dog - she was outside trying to catch snowflakes in her mouth!
Woot! Yey Haz! (borrowing brit 'woot')
Awww, that's so cute.
Where's it snowing haz?
We don't get a lot of snow here, but when it arrives Spangle gets really excited, trying to shovel it with her nose and toss it in the air. It is cute!
Ballymena in Co. Antrim. We were fog bound for four days and now the snow!
Spangle....OMG I remember spangles...what a trip downmemory lane
missing the last da 5. ANy clues?
If you have the preceding da 4, add another t.
tbear...sorry...someone was recovering from foot surgery...must have mixed two folks up. HOpe you feel better soon anyway.
thanks haz
Happy Thanksgiving to those of us celebrating!!!
Thanks Songbird...that's very kind, hoping to recover for Sat at least to meet up with anj and Lola for drinkies....cross fingers for me
I suppose once Thanksgiving is over you can all start putting out Christmas decorations. In Britain they start putting out stuff in August. Slight exaggeration but not much!
anyone have a clue for the of/4?
Nah....the shops here have been putting Christmas stuff out for the last two months. Shame....
lala: a southern term for white people? rhymes with okay.
of 4 - it's what King Kong said to Miss Wray (the actress whose first name rhymes with her second)
lalobstah....if you spelt the first letter of the alphabet pheonetically of _ _
tyvm
Right I've had enough...goodnight all...sleep well
Gobble, gobble evry1 and all. Company just left and we're about to eat, finally. It's been a long day. I have 1 word left and I can not find it for the life of me. If any1 could help, I'd greatly appreciate it. PO7/44? tyia.
nite tbear hun! sleep well and hope you feel better tomorrow. : ) (((((((( hugs ))))))))) xxx
g'nite tbear.
Night tbear; TAKE CARE....
Gramma...you just caught me...it's a derogatory term for a gay man po4 plus
Nitey nite...thx for your sentiments
Wait! tbear wait! po4 plus what?
A president runs for t_ _ m ...take off the m
gramma: use your po4/8 plus a suffix that means one who does something. Drop t in the middle.
Gramma...you got it?
TY...TY...TY Done!
Yiey gramma! Go enjoy your lovely meal!
Can I help any1 before I go?
BIG time nite all....hugs and distance kisses....germs the germs
Ty all. see you on the flip side.
finished! Any clues before I go?
songbird: tw7 please?
Just got it! Thanks for asking.
any clue for mo/7?
hey all, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Only have 1 left, me7/36. Help anyone?
mo7: add a frenchy sort of ending. sort of like little miss mufette sitting on her tufette.
great clue mab. tyvm
Hi doxy. me7 --- past tense of 'to meet' plus a hoop, plus to tender money for something, but use latinate spelling. Does that help?
Mab, thank you so much. I tried everything but that early this morning.
My pleasure.
Any clues needed?
fo6?
Hi All Just back from Thanksgiving with family Doxy do you have the te6/27 please
Hello. I'm here for a while to help give clues, unless Doxy's got it all under control?
speed, change the last letter to a "sometimes" vowel
Hi jacula
Hi jacula.
Thx Doxy never heard of that word before...
I hadn't either. Just stumbled on it this morning
Mab - fo6 - Think 'enemy' + 'hilltop'.
Thanks, Jacula.
sorry, my son signed on and am talking to him also
Should have figured it out with the total but too tired after yesterdays puzzle and all the food today...
I'm only glad that we in UK don't have to do a big Harvest Festival cook-up (our equivalent to Thanksgiving, or near enough) as well as the Christmas & New Year one! LOL.
I was actually supposed to work 12 hours today. Got to work 6. Didn't plan anything today. Hubby and I went out to eat this evening.
I've already made a vat of Irish Stew today (which should last us for a couple of days) + dinner + 3 lots of cookie dough. One lot of cookie dough is a tried and tested old favourite of ours, the other two I made up as I went along. I'll be posting the recipes in BabAnon once I know they work (or not, if not!).
Jacula: although i think people really do reflect on what they are thankful for, the holiday has also become a major run-up to xmas, with the Friday being the busiest shopping day of the year. So all that food consumption becomes a metaphor for commercial consumption.
the Irish stew sounds wonderful (even if I am full)
my daughter works retail. Is calling tomorrow "Black Friday"
Mab - I think you're right. Christmas seems to start in the shops in August here. At one point, one shop had Easter eggs, hot cross buns, Hallowe'en goodies AND Christmas stuff on display!!
Not that that's necessarily bad, in moderation. I love stews. My ex-husband used to make a wonderful beef and orange squash stew.
Doxy - Sorry for going on about food when you're full. :-/
no problem, can talk about food all the time, and usually do at work
I just like Thanksgiving because families don't get together as much anymore and this holiday seems to help w/o all the buying of presents..luckily we have a strong family unit and do all together
Jacula: I love stews what is Irish stew??
doxy, how unfortunate to work today. I can relate -- used to work for psych hospital and worked most holidays.
work in labor and delivery. Had 2 babies born before I got there this morning, otherwise slow day.
The main topics of conversation when I used to work in an office with 20 other women seemed to be, men (either sighing over them or, for those married, sighing because of them), soap operas, food, how much money you'd need to do everything you wanted if you won the lottery and, for some strange reason, every Friday after (without fail), ess ee ex. Dunno why, but it always seems to be that way.
That's a good point, Speed.
Ho Ho Hello!! see me tomorrow with 15 points! Goodbye!!
OOPS! Meant *every Friday afternoon!
in my area of work, the talk always seems to get to that subject. We wouldn't have our jobs without es ee ex.
That's true, Doxy.
In a psych hospital everyone just talks about patients, all the time. It sounds wonderful to work in labor and delivery.
My husband is a police officer so he always works the holidays..now that our kids are older, he tries to take the early shift on Xmas so the fathers with little ones can be home for Santa..
Hello & goodbye, LeeMc. I'm sure you must have found more than 2 words really.
They were so busy on Monday, they called me twice to come in. Offered me time and a half plus $100. I felt sorry for them and went in for 5 hours.
Jacula Don't know if you missed my question what is in Irish stew? Thank you
I prefer to work earlier and have the afternoon off.
Speedfreak - The contents of Irish stew differ from household to household but, essentially, it's a lamb based stew with root vegetables and dumplings. I like to add peas to mine, also.
doxy: it seems like if one is a nurse and is willing to put up with what nurses have to put up with, one can make quite a good living. There is such a shortage. Hmmm.. should have gone into nursing.
That sounds delicious on a cold winter night Jacula!:)
not in my state. I would make $5-15 more an hour if I left Utah.
I am back from Thanksgiving and I am stuffed. Hy all. I am now looking for to4/7 and to 5/12 any clues
That's what my ex's stew had - lamb, not beef. I do love lamb.
Speed - I do mine in the pressure cooker to speed things up. However, it still needs 2 days prepping really to taste good. You cook the lamb on day 1 and skim most of the fat off once it's quite cold, add the vegs and cook it all together the next day, and then heat up however much you want (+ the dumplings) the next day.
marc, to5/12 native americans carved them (to*** poles)
Thanks beebee
Welcome back Marc. I hope you enjoyed your meal? to4/7 (the pole clue before was the to5) - a homestead or a hillock. For the first 3 letters, think 'sticky, chewy stuff'.
to4/7 to + something not hard, drop the s
jacula, sounds wonderful
Well, re the stew, if you both have pressure cookers, I can put the recipe into BabAnon.
I almost always use my pressure cooker when making beef stew. Makes things go so much faster.
I have always used my crockpot but my mother has a pressure cooker..
Apart from being warming in winter, it saves you cooking for 2 or 3 nights. Just make a vatful, like I do! Will keep in fridge for up to 5 days, so great if there are only 2 of you. When you get to the end bits (when most of the meat has gone) you can 'whoof' it up by adding a can or two of soup.
Any help with my last 3? me6/21 te4/6 tw4/8 - got the one like 5/18
Speed - It can be done in a crockpot. I'll make sure to put an adaption of the recipe in for you. I used to love my crockpot, especially when I worked long hours. It was very nice to come home to the comforting smell of dinner already cooking/cooked. Unfortunately, my crockpot was a casualty of my first (of 4 house floods) as it was on a low shelf. I've never got around to replacing it.
me6 - past tense of meet + what you did with turkey
Thanks Jacula I would Love That!!
te4/6 - someone who is not a permanent worker
tw4 - think n** w**
Marc - tw4/8 could be either a rude word for female genitalia or it could be the other tw4/8 - 'a daft person, a silly tw**'.
ye 5/ 18 clues please.
thanks for the help...all done
like the movie yorba but with different vowel. how bout ye4?
patact - look up 'rhamnus californica' for the 'ye' word.
ye 4--"aren't you done ye** double final
ye4 - think not y* + double consonants
Thank you!
congrats mark
Well finished the puzzle...did most of it this morning before dinner...talk to you all tomorrow, going to curl up with hubby and kids to watch a movie Happy Thanksgiving to all, Happy Thursday to everyone
doxy1lover--thanks, I've been working on that for far to long.
ye4/6 - another way to get this would be to think of The Abominable Snowman but get rid of the personal pronoun at the end and double up on the consonant before it.
'Bye Speed. Enjoy your evening.
no problem
wa8??? help pls
wa8 - use previous wa5 + a canine
thanks for the wa8 hint
your welcome
I can't take credit for that one, my hubby found it for me
Have a good evening all. See you tomorrow.
thanks for the w8clue..who would have thot of that one?
I did get that one on my own. My parents always used to have Poodles, which are, or originally were, that type of canine. That's where the daft pom-pom clip came from. It was for buoyancy.
'Bye Doxy. Nice chatting.
hi guys!!!! Been off turkey day chomping..am stuffed!
any clues for the 7 letter words?..they seem to be giving me the most trouble..YUCK I have only one of them
Hi Kate. I'll see if I can put a set of clues together for you. Did your day go well? Oh, which 7 have you got, btw?
the one with the AT..took me forever to find..
Oh well, Kate, at least you tried! LOL. I'll be as quick as I can with the list.
Jac..my day was fun! Went to my boyfriends first wife's house for dinner..LOL..you gotta love the south! I really like her..
Jac..thanks for taking the time!! I just havent been able to spend much time with the puzzles lately..what with doc visits..Cat scans..and drinking their foul chalky stuff..ewwwwwwww
hi lk - today - someone said tw 7/44 " all a tw*****"
Ren, thanks..got it right away with that clue!
lk - you must be really brave to go to an ex's spousal units house - espically in the south.... i admire you for that -
these letters are kind of in a convoluted way today..i wouldnt have seen that..without the clue
me7/36 - No definition for it. How do I explain it? Will think and get back to you on that. mo7/44 - 1. An opening in the earth from which carbon dioxide and other gases escape, usually marking the last stage of volcanic activity. 2. The gases escaping from such an opening. po7/44 - derogatory name for an effiminate man. (An extension of the po4/8 above it.)
yu know, Jac..i tried all kinds of extensions on that gay man thing..i have the first four letters, ..but will try, try again..
Okay - me7/36 - Think 'French underground railway' and take out the 'r', then add a small, greend round vegetable (a legume) but reverse the 2 vowels. Hope that helps!
okay..i got the gay man extension..LOL, ty.
Kate - Glad you got the 'po' word in the end. I think it's really a UK word more than a US one.
p7, anyone help me?
Kate - if you Google my definitions for the mo7/44, you should get the answer.
I have never heard of it, Jac..just noodled away at it..I may have to google the ME words..or A2Z
Michelle. Hi. If you scroll back a little, you will see I just gave LianaKate the clue for the po7.
tbear clue for po 7/44 - add last 3 letters of po 6/21 to po 4/8
sorry - jacula - i had never heard of that word either - it was a surprise
Kate - re the me7/36, the small, round green veg is NOT a sprout. LOL.
Thanks, I got it!
Hi Renfield. Like I said, it's probably UK slang. You can get in to all kinds of trouble in other 'English-speaking' countries when you visit from UK. For instance, if you say you fancy 'a fag' (meaning you would like a cigarette) in US, it may well be taken in an entirely different way. Likewise in Australia, if you ask for 'Durex' (a condom here in UK) you may well be given a roll of sticky tape over there.
hi Jac (((((((( hugs !! ))))))))))))) :D how are you, hun? I can't get this me7.......... :/
Talking of 7's, I'm missing AT7, and could use a clue, please.
babbler it sounds like something you throw at a bride and groom
Mab..i DO have that one..to make an at....on ones life..or to at..to do something..make a good try..double the first consonant..:)
Thanks so much lianakate.
I am sorry I meant to4/7 and also te6/21 and 28
Hiya Babbler. )))))Hugs back((((( Oh dear! How else can I explain that me7?
Was thinking of that word but couldn't see how it worked....can now!
Mab..youre very welcome..I receive LOTS of help here, and am just so glad when I can reciprocate...:)
Marc - I've given a clue a bit back (not too far) for the to4. to6/21 - container for popular British and Indian beverage.
thanks, Jac..i found the Mo word..took awhile..BUT..I went to googe the hole in crust of earth..and learned more than I wanted to about the greenhouse effect, volcanoes...and other stuff..But..not the mo word..LOL
Marc - te6/27 (not 28)... it's a small ornamental table of Persian and Indian origin. Meant for holding the te6/21 and its accompaniments.
well, here we go with the "language barrier" again..To something to carry liquids in..Brit?..oh duh
Marc - te6/21 - is the container for the beverage, NOT 'to'. Excuse the typing error.
okay..its te not to..LOL, might as well be greek to me..
te6/21 - It is a vessel that is often covered by a te*cosy!
te6/21 - also known as a 'Brown Betty'.
brown betty..a gun?
You put your beverage into it, brew it and then pour it out. AARGH! LOL.
lol..ty jac..LMAO
No, Kate, the gun is Big Betty, I think! LOL.
no language differences there, eh?
haha
i need a course in British idioms..LOL
i actually got the vessel covered with a te cosy..thats what gave it to me..LOL, gawd. Simple word.."Im a little TE...., short and stout..here is my handle ..here is my spout"..
Well, Kate, if I'd known you knew that song, I'd have sung it to you! ROFLOL.:-))))))
Hello all. Whew, TDay dinner out of the way! ;-)
LOL, Jac..I know my lyrics..if not my geology..(dang that MO)..i know magma..but thats it..no other holes or earthly crust manifestations..am a Polack you know..AND , blonde..(laughing)
Hi Jo. Hope you had a good day? You've arrived just in time to catch me singing a daft song to Kate.
hi jo..am stuffed more than the dang Turkey was..lol
hey jo - happy turkey day -
HAHAHA..Jac..who sang to whom??????, eh???..LMAO
Or was she singing it to me? The blonde has now confused the brunette.:-(
Jac ... I'm reading the log at the mo, how funny! My little neice loves that song ... "im a little te 6/21, short and ...." LOL
Ren..that is such a mysterious looking woman in the icon..
Thanks all got em
No turkey for me, my son's a veggie. But, WHEW, the fixins did me in! I'm stuffed like a turkey! LOL
Jo - When my kids were at playgroup a favourite song there was 'The Wheels on the Bus'. Know it?
way to go marc -
Marc - Thank goodness for that! Well done, mate.
oooh, yes. A classic! There is a spectacular BMW commercial right now that uses that song. A grown man signing along to that song in his car .. is it playing in the UK? Too funny ...
Yea, Marc. I'm hoping to find myself in that happy place soon! ;-)
the wheels on the bus go round and round..(know my lyrics..lol)..also, how about :Little duckie duddle , went wading in a puddle.."..lol
Jo - Have you read back much, much earlier, in UK morning? When the workman was digging a hole at the end of my drive? Lotti and me had quite a funny convo about that.
ALSO.."Itsy bitsy spider when up the water spout"
No, shame I missed it. I've been so in and out today....
Good evening all! Hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving!!! OOps, I forgot to take off my hat!!
and the cat came back the very next day the cat came back -
Jo - not seen that ad here yet, no. Mind you, don't watch a lot ot telly (TV).
LOL, Mamabear! Welcome back ..... :-)
I have suddenly slipped into my "second" childhood..I better quit while I am ahead..Although..not far from my dotage, anyhoo..
Hi Mamma.
Its just great. The man is singing the song, and the car phoen rings. Its BMW telling him that the 'car told her' he needed an oil change. He said "What else did it tell you". She says "thats all" .... he's afraid she knew he was singing that silly song. The spot is quite cute...
We're singing???? Cool. Is everyone done with the puzzle? I have 4 words left... if anyone would like to have pity on a poor humble bear?
hi mama - what do you need?
Good evening folks -- and how are we all today?
hi mamma..bye mamma..i am having hot flashes. Gotta git outside and lie on the deck in NUDE..arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..bb l, mayhap xoxoxox to share :)
'The babies on the bus go, 'WAAH, WAAH, WAAH!' 'The mothers on the bus go, 'Natter, natter, natter.' 'The fathers on the bus go, 'GRUMP, GRUMP, GRUMP.' Just a few of the verses our kids in the group used to add.
hey gw
Any hints for the TW 7?
Hi renfield!!!1 cool icon! I need.. do 5/18 do 6/30 do 5/20 (I guess this is not my day for do's) te 6/27
Hi Wolfie! It appears Kate is stripping off.
so how did j-pop day go for Miyazi?
go get some air liana..... and try not to get arrested! Hi GW!!!!!
icon was for the j-rocker today for miya - the tw 7/44 "all a tw*****"
Hi Jac -- so it would seem -- how are you doing today?
And that's another language difference between US and UK - We say hot 'flushes' over here. 'Flashes', if not to to with lightning and storms, or electrical stuff, mean strange men in nothing but raincoats who open them for their own pleasure but not other people's, over here.
do 5/18 do*** ball
jacula - we have them here too - we call them Flashers! I have a joke on the subject if anyone is interested...
Jac, we call those perverts in the US "flashERs" ;-)
Hey MAMA -- loved the turkey humor you sent me :D
Mamma - We call them flashers here, too. LOL. Thank goodness, a language 'same'. LOL.
I got a great email joke "things you can only say at thanksgiving" ... super funny.
GW - good I'm glad you enjoyed it!!! do*** ball??????
go ahead mama with ur joke
and by the way HI
go ahead with yours first jo, in honor of the holiday!
hi shorty!
Hi shorty *wink*
Oh Mamma, even I would get that do5/18 clue! Don't 'do***' the issue! LOL.
ok how about the cars, plymouth, cryshler, do***
hi greyw
Here's just a few of about 16: Talk about a huge breast! 2. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist. 3. It's Cool Whip time! 4. If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst! 5. Whew, that's one terrific spread!
Remember, the title is "Things you Can only say at Thanksgiving."
ROFL, Jo ;D
ok... hit me with the turkey fish.... I knew these do's were gonna be slappers. thanks renfield. got the 6/30 one too. dare I ask about the do 5/20?
Jo - I guess that joke is about 'Things That Sound Rude At Thanksgiving'?
oh jo - oh no
Yes, its bad....but, in a funny way! ;-)
still want to hear the flasher joke?
Absolutely, Mama! Bring it on .... ;-)
No definition for the do5 - other than that it is an extension of the do4 before it (The elected chief magistrate of the former republics of Venice and Genoa.) However, since we've been singing, think 'How much is the do*** in the Window?' It might help.
Ok... here goes, but you can't say I didn't warn you... A man retires in the Spring of the year and decides to spend his new found free time being a flasher on his favorite street corner. He spends a few hours every day there throughout the summer. When the weather started to change, his friends asked him if he was going to give it up since it was getting rather chilly. He said, "Nah, I think I'm gonna stick it out a while longer." TADA
LOL!!! Mama, that was great! .....
te 6/27 is te 6/21 change the last letter to the sometimes vowel
Mamma (Sorry! Mama.) Every time I see your name I hear that Phil Collins track in my mind. Brill. song though.
Mama -Aaarghh!
found a thanksgiving wolf icon :) *refresh*
But as for the joke... URGH. Worthy of being posted on my groanworthy jokes thread in BabAnon.
oh mama -
hi Jac - sorry ....... my pc had a paddy and threw me out..... just as I spotted the me7 too!! :D
thank you very much Jacula & Renfield!!! I am dun, dun, dun!!!! Unlike yesterday, yesterday, yesterday.... but that's just a bad memory now.
Hey, at least her's wasn't as offensive as mine! And, mine only got worse .... ;-) I liked it, Mama ... funny
*snorts* LOL Mamabear !!!!!!!!!!!! *flies over for My Mamabear hug * :D
ooh, you finished? bravo Mamabear !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
I liked that one Mama -- made me snort.
Love it, GW!!!!! Now I need to find bears ... but I don't think bears eat turkey. Babbler!!!!!!! *bear hugs, bear hugs, bear hugs* - did you read my joke??????? Thanks, Jacula, my joke will go down in babanon history!
1st verse of the Phil Collins song. LOL. 'I can't see you mama but I know you're always there ooh to touch and to feel you mama oh I just can't keep away it's the heat and the steam of the city oh its got me running and I just can't brake so say you'll help me mama cos its getting so hard'
Whoa, them's some lyrics!
I love that song too, Jacula!!!! Thanks for posting lyrics!
Erm, I'm a female and that wasn't personal. LOL. The song's a great song but also funny 'cos full of double-entendres.
I saw your joke, Mama! :D made me laugh
Just looking at many of the icons, is it a Miyavi day again?
MAMA - just plug "bears & thanksgiving" or "bears & turkey" into google images and see what comes up -- that's all I did to find this one
It's miyavi day, still. Although Miy Fan has gone.
yes Jac, Anj asked Miyavi what she'd like seeing as banana tuesday went a bit pear-shaped (seeing as her sex-ed class was postponed to the new year).
then I'll put the Guitar Wolf icon back -- my bad...
Amidst the general merriment here, may I have a clue for IO6, please?
Mab - I should hope she has gone at this time of the night/morn. She's only 13! What was the day in aid of?
I would change my icon, but there IS only one day of the year I can wear my hat....
anyone so kind as to help with fo 6/27 or po7/44??
io 6 - io + da 4/4 - meaning to go out with someone of the opposite sex, or da** and nut bread...
Miyavi Fan was to pick todays theme, and she picked, surprise, J-rock.
io6 - 'io' + what you panic about when you are getting ready to go on your very first one (a thing that changes every day, due to time. Or a fruit most people only eat at Christmas.)
Not if we declare an appropriately related day here in Babbleonia, Mama! ;)
that was very funny Mama I just saw it (I was telling my kids goodbye)
Thanks, Jacula.
That's true, Wolfie, as long as no one declares it a naked day and gets us taken off the air. LOL.
Keep those clues coming folks! I had to stop this AM with 50 to go and just got back to the game now :)
mama nearly did that last friday - she came on line w/out her fur coat - in neon no less
fo 6/27 - same as the fe above it, but throw the hoop in
Jac - don't challenge me -- I'm sure I can come up with a naked theme which would work ;)
well yes, renfield, had to -it was naked Friday..
I think I remember that, Renfield. EEK!
Hmmmm...I think I remember da4's. I think I enjoyed them and even married someone because of them. I would like to have another before the curtain falls. Oh, dear.
Oh well, Wolfie, at least you said,'Don't challenge me,' rather than don't te5/14 me! I said that word to Lotti over the workman thing much earlier before I'd even realised it was a grid word.
po 7 - take the po 4 above it and add consonant, vowel, consonant. I saw clues earlier that said it is something that people in England use as a name for gay men
po7 - rules 1, 3, 5, & 7 of the Australian Philosphers Society sketch from Monty Python --"NO po7's!"
GW - did you finish last nite?
Or, alternatively, po7 - anagram of 'footer' + shortened version of short version of taking a leak.
I haven't looked at the comments for awhile but I need a clue for be5/18 please
Gawd! I've done too many cryptic crosswords over the years. I do give 'roundabout' clues, don't I? LOL.
Nope! :D I gave up at 323 -- I refused to use a2z Besides- I had more fun chatting at that point :D
Marc - be5/18 - Think The Bible - and Adam be*** Cain & Abel. But change the 2nd vowel to make ending sound like a type of gun.
i just finished my first puzzle!!! thanks so much to all of you who gave hints that helped me out! (even though you didn't know you were helping me) :)
marc - kind of like torah - lineage (past tense)adam be***
That's okay KatMama. Drop in and chat with us sometime though.
bravo katmama !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
Congrats, katmama!!! Welcome to the finisher's circle!!! :D
help please with the at7/36..its got me. That Australian reference..a very ignorant macho term for g..
any clues for the y's pls anyone? ty
great going katmama
Anyway, Babbler. It's 3.02am here in UK. What's your excuse for still being up? LOL.
will do! this is so addicting and i've been fearing that talking to people would make it more addictive.. ;)
LOL Jac.......... errrm, well I was out this evening and I haven't finished my puzzle........ and I really ought not to be up as I've got electricians coming tomorrow....... and errrrr.......insomnia! : ) what's your excuse then?? :D
Katmama - Talking to people will DEFINITELY get you addicted. Either get out while you still can or relax and join in the fun.
babbler & jacula - how do you guys stay up so late?
renfield - I'm a chronic insomniac ... : /
Babbler - Knew you'd ask that! Errr.. workmen will be at end of srive at the crack of dawn, so I really should not still be up, but I got lots of sleep last night and I'm not tired now.... and I've been busy... and erm...
*grin* jacula, i'll keep that in mind...i'm off for the night happy thanksgiving to all!
ren - I am typically up till 3 -4 AM myself on pure adrenalin sometimes trying to leave as little as possible for the evening so I can focus on chatting :)
at7/36 - to try.
babbler- ye 4/5 - add double consonent
how easy..thaanx Jac
Jacula and renfield understand the reference but if it has the 4 value letter it would be a 5/20 rather than a 5/18 what am I missing? I know I am going to slap myself on the head when you tell me. But tell me anyway.
thx renfield : )
i love staying up all night - however - it doesnt help my attitude at 5:00 AM when the alarm buzzes
I hear you, ren -- I can usually only do it for a couple of days before I need to turn in early to recharge
Renfield - I never normally am tired until about 12.30 anyway. But sometimes, working from home to my own hours now, I get more sleep, then less sleep, depends. I'm lucky now that I can choose how and when my 8 hours occur. I used to survive on much less sleep when I was younger. However, past few days have been hard because 23rd November was 2nd anniversary of my Dad's death. I get kinda restless around then and can only hope that my partner in life understands that.
how are you feeling now, Jac?
Renfield, my brother is a conservative Rabbi in Walnut Creek, Calif. He is retiring and they are looking for a replacement. Interested?
ok marc - be 5/18 how about if you go and *** something from the fridge - you went and *** it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Babbler - still a bit restless, but I'm trying to keep busy. I'm not sure anyone but my Mom (I'm an only child) understands why though.
Happy Thanksgiving, Smeltz!!
it's a thought -my husand is a rebbe
Sorry Renfield I am thick tonight your clue didn't help
Happy Thanksgiving to you Smeltz.
sorry... had to spin off and get the last glass of pinot grigio............. did I miss anything? Hey, Smeltzie!!! Happy Thanksgiving to ya!
jacula - i followed the thoughts you were writing the other morning - you helped me to understand - my mother is in the early statges of dementia - i cried w/ you although you did not know that at the time
be 5/18 - be + an animal that has horns and climbs steep mountains, a billy **** - remove one of the vowels
It's a big deal, Jac. Your Mum probably is the only person who best understands, because you both were the closest to him. Other people can only empathise. Renfield, I did the same.
ok marc - try this be 5/18 - 7th consonent vowel consonent
marc, when you g** this, we will pass you the obvious haddock.......... (but change the middle vowel first, yeah?)
Oh Renfield. I am so sorry I made you cry. There is, though, a kind of black humour in it all, most terrible though it is. Even my Dad saw it, before he went too far. But, when they are still at home and they come to you desperately asking you to 'take them home', it's heartbreaking and even more so, once you've had to hand over care to professionals and they rush to the wired glass doors and bang on them, and look at you. Breaks your heart a thousand times over. Sorry to be so honest and I hope your Mom's future and yours will not bring that. However, if you need to talk, seriously and funnily, then private mail me re the Babblers Anonymous ez-box.
thanks, Renfield I am slapping my head. Have to leave now for awhile and will be back before closing.
Marc - We'll make sure the barmaid doesn't clear your glass away.:-)
thanks jacula - you have helped me very much already - i am indebted to you.
marc - we'll all be waiting for you
any hints for fo6?
fo 6 - an offensive odor, or stench
Renfield - just looked at your profile and added your 'wahoo!' addy to my MSN messenger. Hopefully, that will get us in contact, if we want.
fo 6/27 - enemy + foot digit - drop ending vowel add a consonent
renfeld - thanks -dare i ask for fe5? I have 106 words done
GW - did you notice yet that your "first name" is in the grid? As well as my "home"?????
jacula - i appreciate it very much
MAMA - I actually hadn't registered it - til you pointed it out :D
to 5/ 12 and to 6/ 18 anyone pls? ty
to 5/12 - a to*** pole - an indian carving
to 6 - to sway as if about to fall down
not teeter but to****
Renfield - I'm there for you, whenever you want to talk. Bit of black humour re the Alzheimer's thing.... A man of only 9 was in the same locked ward as my Dad. We called him Marchin Man, 'cos that's all he ever seemed to do... march up and down, up and down. When his sister came to visit him, the only way she could get to spend any time with him was to link arms and march up and down, too. My Dad, when he first got there, thought the guy was an ex-waiter, because of the way he held his right arm out in front of him, like it had a teatowel over it.
mwah mamabear !!! :D do you have the ye5, by any chance?
thx pbr, gottit just as you posted : )
fe 5/ 16 periodic table symbol for iron & ending of the foot digit again
*A man of only 9? I'm sure I typed 59! So, a correction to my last post here.
ye 5 - the definition is a Spanish plant.... if you don't get it from that.. remember the play Zo*** the Greek? Try that
And another correction, he was only 49. Sorry about that.
mwah mamabear!! gottit from the greek bit : D
renfeld -- again thanks
mwah back Babbler!
Mama - keep 'em coming! Down to 24 to go -- how about the mo7?
Little Miss M****** sat on her Tofette....
te 6/ 27 and te 6/ 18, pls anyone ? (I know, I'm not really trying here, am I? lol ! ) :D
Nice simple clue there, Mama (unlike mine!) That should do it!
te 6/27 - I'm a little te****, short and stout, but change the last consonant and you'll figure it out!!!
I got yours straight off from google, Jac : )
Just hit me in the head with a clue by 4, why don't you? LOL :)
Bab - how many left?
46 yet to find........ how about you, GW?
clue by 4??/ LOL LOL
22 and dropping!
Hello! Any help with po 7/44? Thanx.
te6/27 - clue already given for that earlier. te6/18 - Think of tee***ing on the brink and then change a few letters. BTW, the word ryhmes with 'letter'.
te 6 - te + double consonant + vowel + consonant
6/18 = te - i think there is a blue star oninetment that is suppose to cure this scaley skin disease (?)
lol! gottit Jac! mwah !! and got your's too mama mwah too !
ta6/18 pls? ty : )
Hi Maru! po 7 - take the po 4/8 above it, add consonant, vowel, consonant
Maru - Where are you from before I try to clue you up on thee po7? It's a mainly UK derogatory term for an effiminate man.
ta 6/18 - i think it was said earlier that this was body art
ta 6/18 - the little short guy on Fantasy Island.... zee plane!!!! zee plane!!!!! OR, when ink is applied under the skin
Babbler - think ink under the skin!
mwah renfield : )
oh yes ta 6/18 -i think gw said he has one of these
LOL mamabear !!!!!!!1 I remember that show ! :)
I'm from South America and living in Atlanta (USA) rigth now. I'll try with your clue...
6, actually ;)
oh no, I don't have any of the TE6's.
i would love a clue for m7/36!! Thankyou
Thanks mamabear. I'll try with your clue too!
Don't boast, Wolfie! LOL. Have you any in painful places?
I'm told ankles and other bony places are painful for that body art stuff.
me 7 - me + not the bottom, but the *** + 2 vowels
Not boasting -- they are all small, three on my arms, the others are on my chest --- Kirsten has the painful one -- a tribal band around her thigh with some other art on the outer thigh -- she knows exactly where her sciatic nerve is as a result :)
I got it. Thanx Jacula. Thanx Mamabear.
te 6's: I'm a little te****, short and stout. Same as above, change last consonant Rhymes with letter
thank you mama..what does it mean?
Helenary - I did give the best clue I could for that earlier. It has no definition. I think I said, 'Think French underground railway and then drop the 'r', + small, rund green vegetable (a legume) but reverse the last two vowels.'
Jac - that is true about ankles, et. al. -- the nerves are much closer to the surface and thus more easily irritated
wolfie - always been curious about those body art things - how long do they take to heal?
BTW, Jac that clue for the me7 worked beautifully for me ;)
the first po4/6, and the po5/12 at the bottom pls, anyone? ty : )
I don't know, Helenary - that's why I gave the bizarro clue I did!
po 4/6 you and **
ren - everybody is different, but typically the worst is healed within about a week or so -- the key is to follow the after care instructions to the letter
soo me6/21? clue and thanx to all for the great giving spitit
spirit
po4/6 -A fleshy fruit, such as an apple, pear, or quince, having several seed chambers and an outer fleshy part largely derived from the hypanthium. Also called false fruit. However, think of Pam Ayres (A UK poetaster, as some might say, but not me) and think of what she's been known to say.. 'Here's a po** wot I wrote.'
po 5/12 rhymes w/ mo 5/12
me 6/21 - google this: "A stone block with a shallow concave surface, used with a mano for grinding corn or other grains."
thx renfield, but I still can't find them..... haven't got the mo5 yet either........ : /
Hi all ... Happy Thanksgiving
me6/21 - or add the French word for tea before your ta4/4.
I thought about getting a "body art" on my ankle.. but then once the fur grows back, nobody would see it!
Hi Cathy! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
thx Jac, gettit now........... soz Ren, just slap me with the obvious fish! : )
ok - hmmmm you and i work the words backwards - ok - po 5/12 po+ double cosonent + vowel ( i think anj says its a loop on the end?)
Hi Cathy! MAMA - but if you did it for yourself -- you would know it is there, and that should be all the reason you truly need
That would be true. Mama. But being a bear must be the best! You eat all you want all warm times and get fat, then you sleep away the cold times and wake up thin again. BRILL!
Babbler - google this for your mo 5: "A polyphonic composition based on a sacred text and usually sung without accompaniment."
True Jac... but I have to scratch my back on trees!
thx mamabear thx ren - I couldn't see how it fit, but it did! :)
hi Cathy
Nowt wrong with that, Mama, unless you're wearing a pale top and it gets all green stuff on it!
hi cathy - happy t day
Jac - that is a downside I never would have come up with! lol
trying to catch up on the conversation here, and it's quite an interesting combination -- body art to what it's like being a bear ... looks like an interesting discussion :)
hmm. last word for me is wa 8 does anyone have a clue to share??
Yeah, Cathy, we get pretty deep!
Well, Wolfie, the wasdhing side of things isd not something I'd expect a red-blooded Alpha wolf to think of. LOL.
Never a dull moment in Babbleonia when we're around! ;D
wa 8 - clear liquid running from your faucet.. + canine
Happy Thanksgiving all, 8pm company just left time to babble.....Mamabear I have a real bear(s) that comes through my yard nightly.
guess that shows you turkey & pumpkin pie is really brain food, huh ? LOL
thanks mama - I wouldn't have ever seen that! :) all done - hope everyone had a great turkey day.
Hi Schroeder!!!!! A REAL bear????/ Be still my heart!!!
Actually, I am in charge of laundry in my household, Jac -- I do a better job of folding than Kirsten :)
wa8 - think poodle or other canine who retrieves ducks shot down over aqua.
mama..when you say google it..how does that work? do I put the quotation marks in as well, ot is there a google site for putting in quotes.??? Still cannot find the me6/21 even with Jac's clue!!
Hey Schroeder!
you're welcome circe! I wouldn't have found it on my own either!
helenary - copy and paste the clue including quotation marks into the google search box.
hey shro - did you make to macy's parade
Wolfie, I know you're a capable man, just like mine. But I wouldn't mind betting you'd become cavemanlike again should it be your missus up on her until this hour rather than yourself? (It's 4.03am in UK, btw.)
Yes mamabear he enjoys my apple trees very much, I also have coyote, couger, fox, deer, racoons and almost any other wildlife you can think of..
me 6/21 - do you have the me 4/5 above it? add a consonant and vowel to it
helenary - here is the google address - http://www.google.com/
Schroeder - that is awesome! Can I come live with you? I'm no trouble, really!!!
Mama! You really must stop trying to move in with folks and/or marry them! LOL.
got it!!! Ta
renfield, say some of it on TV, I am on the wrong coast to see it in person....I am trying to perform in it next year but I was told I was to old....(that went over real well) Hi GW *big hug*
Jacula, whatchoo talkin' about, Willis???/ This is the first time....
Oh, I really must get out of my cryptic clue head and learn to give simple clues. AAARGH!
Come on over Mamabear on the next plane...plenty of room on the ponderosa....
Is it Mama? I must have been mistaken then. Please excuse me for interrupting a Boby Goldsboro' moment. LOL.
Jac - don't change -- we love just the way you are! As for becomong cavemanlike - I'm sure I understand your meaning...
Wolfie - you mean I amuse you all by being a 'pratess'? LOL.
oops, I'm sure I DON'T understand...
no don't change jacular - you are fantastic - you make us think
Jac -- I like cryptic, makes life interesting :)
I love your clues, Jac ! :D (btw - got fa4/8 and fa6/27 for me, pretty pls?) : )
First few (yea, more!) lines of the Bobby Goldsboro song, Summer, The First Time: 'It was a hot afternoon Last day of June And the sun was a demon The clouds were afraid One-ten in the shade And the pavement was steaming I told Billy-Ray In his red Chevrolet I needed time for some thinking I was just walking by When I looked in her eye And I swore it was winking She was 31 and I was 17 I knew nothing about love She knew everything And I sat down beside her on the front porch swing And wondered what the coming night would bring The sun closed her eyes As it climbed in the sky And it started to swelter The sweat trickled down the front of her gown And I thought it would melt her She threw back her hair Like I wasn't there And she sipped on a julep Her shoulders were bare And I tried not to stare When I looked at her two lips...'
sorry shro - i must have zoned out
Hi all!
hi artlady : )
Hi artlady!
Hi there, artlady!
hi artlady !
hi art lady
BH, Artlady! What are you doing here at this time of the morn?
Lol renfield, so much adult beverages today I'm living in the zone....
Ha ha, it's only 10 pm....managed to sneak in a puzzle between company and dinner...
Wolfie - 'pratess' - female version of 'prat' - UK sland for male (mostly) idiot.
Artlady - my apologies. For some reason I'd started to think you were a UK not a US resident.
circe - did anyone answer your wa 8? aqua + canine
fa4/8 and fa6/27, anyone, pls? ty : )
Jac - I would never consider you a prat for any reason-- I consider you to be an exemplar of the standard Babble player -- you are intelligent, witty, and capable of recognising the humor in your mistakes
But, even if I hadn't... no excuses for me asking another person why they are up (or not) ast a certain time of the night or morn. I should not do that, since it's one of the 'net policing' things that annoys ME most!
Hi I am back, any clues for oa5/10 and of5/16
fa 4/8 fa + 2nd word in wedding vow
Hi Marc
Hi Artlady! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Wolfie - Thank you!
Why, Jac, thank you...I am of English heritage, you are SO perceptive... ;-) Also German, Norwegian, French, ... a real mutt!
Babbler - not sure of the fa 4, but the fa 6 is what I feel after that big Thanksgiving dinner (aka, heavier)
Jac - BTW, the oops before was not re the pratess comment, but the caveman comment prior :) I am actually fairly up on Brit slang due to my love of Britcoms ;D
fa 6/27 - you get this if you eat & eat & eat
Got the oa already just need the or5/16
Hi MamaBear! Finished. Anyone need any clues?
wa5/24 please clue me?

thx artlady !!!!!!! : D
If tomorrow's theme is dogs I will have to see ifany old scanned pics of my beloved JR/Sheltie X work as an icon, or if not that, me with him and my tribe of sheepdogs up in Wales back in the 70s.
I am looking forward to it, ren ;)
weren't they just the best, lshult ??? did you have a crush on David Sylvian too? : )

Congrats, Grey! (I can't call you GW...)
Being a bloke I could never admit to that. But I did once see him (solo) live in concert. (Hammersmith Odean I think). He is still a bit of an iconic hero to me (but don't tell anyone). Still get shivers listening to some of his music..

*Jac., sorry that Mama thought she was yelling at her, giggles watching Wolfie do a 'Dad Dance'.
Mamabear, the of... you can't refuse clue can't figure what you mean by 3rd constanant in the first 4 letters there are only two constanants and when I add the nearest 2 value letter it doesn't work. Can you give me a simpler clue?
Last word. RO5 --- may I have clue please?
ooh, found the one that goes after ice be**
missin a y. Have y4/6. help with the other?
artlady - sorry to hear about the bad memories, but not to worry, I have been there before (twice actually -- don't know how...) Besides, as long as I get the message I don't care what you call me ;D
Take your first r4 and double a consonant...
*hands artlady a tissue* It's oka we have all done it
marc, think of another word for 'regularly', as in "I of*** go the shops on a Saturday". Change the last letter for another consonant
No problem, Gr4/8Woulf, just joking... ;-)
ro 5/10 drop the last vowel from ro 4/4 add a consonet & a new vowel
Thank you, Schroeder. Cute kitten!
ro5- Think Shakespeare...'Something in this state is ro****.' Change last consonant for 2nd vowel. Incidentally, since this has benn misunderstood on her before now, vowels are A,E,I,O,U.
*huge bear hug for artlady.......* was just having some babble fun!!!! don't cry - it'll mess up your sinuses and make your makeup burn your eyes and make em all puffy..... not worth it!
It's from 'Hamlet', I think.

Yay, mab!!!
BAbbler, as Queen sang....."another one bites the dust" Congrats!!
WTG mab!!!!!!!! Join our happy dance!!!
mab, ditto for you!
anybody out there in Babbleonia still need clues?
Ah, the Queen reference I can understand. ANyone see Brian May playing his electric guitar in Queen's version (for Freddie) of God Save The Queen' atop Buckingham Palace. Magic! Even EIIR thought so!
artlady - you just reminded me of an anecdote that I just read in Bennet Cerf's "The Life of the Party" (I love reading his stuff -- it's a great snapshot of US social mores in the first half of the 20th century ;) )
Mamabear thanks for the offer, to many to choose from...
Need help with we6/30, please...
saw Queen live back in '85 breathtaking stuff!
Hi Jera - we is 'more waterlogged'.
we 6/30 - if you and I both run through the sprinkler, but I stay under it longer, I will be we**** than you!
w6/30- more w3/3!!!!
ruff !! : D (just getting changed for tomorrow!)
Jera, what the wa 8/75 gets after a swim...
Me too, Babbler...found a pic of my mum's dog...
Ishult - I saw them about 4 times, back in 70s, when they were a rising group. It WAS 'A Kind Of Magic'!
Thank you! Sorry not chatty cold in computer room... no heat...
This guy will have to do for now... shows how I feel at the moment...
It's about Texans - so hopefully, no one will take offense, but here it is -- 'John Henry Faulk once roomed with a Texan who was deeply religious - but lazy as they come, He had a prayer framed right over his bed, so every night he could slide blissfully between the sheets, point to the prayer, and say, "Yep, them's my sentiments." '
Any clues on fa5/16 and fo6/27?
Jera - get yourself one of those electric oscillating heaters then, if there's no radiator where your comp is!
my sister also saw them many times in '70's. She's the one that treated her little brother. Still in her debt
Marc! I thought you had finished?
te6/27 clueys please??
7 to go
fo6- enemy+hill top
marc - do you mean fE 5/16?
Jera - Merry Meet! -- what's the temp by you? It's around 22 by me, before the wind is factored in -- then it drops to under 10 BRRRRR!
Go, Marc, Go!
Jera - I can understand.... the heat hasn't been on in my work for the last 2 weeks... hope it's on tomorrow, the wind chill is below zero here.
marc - fe5/16 has same meaning as the fe6 you asked for. Think 'fe' + hilltop.
fe 5/16 - fe + you have 5 of them on the end of your foot, but change the last letter to a consonant
yes mama and fo6/27
fo 6 - enemy + same last three letters as the fe 5
same word marc, but starts fo instead
Babbler - I LOVE your icon!!! Is he yours?
I was gonna sign off............ but I'm gonna stay for marc! :D
Ok, I'm ready for tomorrow...meet Gretl, my mother's favorite daughter... ;-)

Oops, for most of you it's today...this time thing confuses me!
AWWWWWWWWW, artlady!!!! She's so cute.... doggy icon day is gonna be fun!
I dunno GW... cold... had snow last night... I can feel draft here in front room... used to be porch... no insulation... BRRRRRR!!!
I'm gonna have to see if I can scan in a pic of my 2 doggies .....
te6/21 - small ornamental table to hold tea-making equipment. Persian/Indian word. Sounds a bit lke the UK thing that is covered by a cosy to brew it but has the 25th letter of the alphabet as the last letter and the third vowel as the penultimate letter.
She's cute and incredibly badly behaved. Repeated beginning doggie obedience class 3 times....I don't think she passed...
Just was reading through last bit of log (was off making dinner) and oh my how I would love to go dancing! It's been years, literally!
what's wa 8/75
te6/27 pleese?
jp, it's wa (what you drink) plus today's icon theme
I agree mab!!!! Three of my most favorite things... singing, dancing and mushrooms!
What rain consists of plus woof wooof.

thx
helenary, see jac's clue just now, 10.59
Mama, if you like singing, dancing and mushrooms, you really must check out the Badger, Badger, Badger site on the net. It's brill.
MAMA - what kind of mushrooms? ;)
marc - how you doing?
I've never met a mushroom I didn't like.
Odd combo mamabear!!!
thanz Bab and Jac..got it now
Jac - my daughter absolutely loves the Badgers -- everyday she will point to the computer, wave her arms and start chanting - 'Badger, badger, badger?'
Wolfie! I'm sure she doesn't mean those kind of mushrooms! (They grow locally, btw, LOL.) Shame I'm not nterested in telling anyone where to pick 'em. P's my Ohter Half off no end, does that. LOL.
te5/14 There are 2 of these I need. Getting there!
Got them thanks onto my last 5 and my computer is acting up. Any clues on y5/18
Right Jac, not THOSE kind.....
helenary, build on your te4/6. drop a hoop on the end of one, and a consonant on the end of the other
Be right back must refill cocktail...anybody else?
te 5/14 - one is the beat of a song te 5/14 - to entice
ye5/18 - Sounds like Serbia, but take penultimate vowel out and change 1st consonant.

marc, A low California undershrub

jera, po5 rhymes with Santa's gr5
po 7 - start with po 4/8 above it, add ter

OK, folks, I need to take a few to rub the pregnant wifes back so she can get to sleep I'll be back in a few :)

OK. Will stay since Schroeder was so gracious as to bring me a refreshment.... maybe will help deaden the pain!!!!
Wolfie - sorry for delay replying. I'd just gone off to view the badgers again. At times, I think I was far more linked to that site than my daughter was, when her lst longterm chap was. Oh dear! Both of us are probably nuts, but never mind! Wolfie - can't get your link to work right now.:-(

*cheers with babbler and mamabear* I have to work at one of my jobs also tomorrow....at least it is only one of my jobs
Thanks to all who helped me I am done, only 2nd time to finish and it feels great and i am signing off to give my apple a rest.
I'm back! Kirsten says that I have magic fingers cos they go right to the tension spots without any unnecessary fumbling around Mama - Kirsten sends you a professional (*neck rub*) (she is a formally trained masseusse ;) ) Jac - I embedded spaces in the post for the link, did you remove them?
*toast to marc* *clink* congrats!!!! job well done
bravo marc !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
later marc -
time for a break........... be back at post time !! : D
Congrats Marc!
Congrats Marc....bye
I'll have a fresh drink waiting for you babbler....
GW - tell Kirsten thank you for the offer... I have never had the luxury of a professional massage. Maybe some day will splurge.
me to - need to log onto office servers
Schroeder - I hope Smeltzie logs on sometime tomorrow - he will love your icon!
I did remove them Wolfie, but still couldn't get there. However, I added a few magic touches of my own and did get to view it. I still prefer the original though! The only thing that comes near to it, even with the badger originals, is the Africa one.
I have to work tomorrow myself... at least Lencrafter's doesn't subscribe to the whole extended hours just cos it's the holidays -- so I get to maintain a normal sleep and family routine :D
Bye renfield....
g'nite renfield - thanks for the help earlier! have a good nite.
I agree with you, Jac -- but seeing Ron wiggle instead of the mushroom just totally appeals to me for some reason :) And of course, my daughter loves it, too
G'nite renfield!
I have a better one on my other computer...I'm being lazy right now on my laptop in bed so this is the best I could do
In the battle between Babble and Pain, they are running "neck & neck".... ha. Actually Pain is winning ... g'nite all!
So I have to ask - am I the only one who thinks that if you plan to get together at a friends for Thanksgiving dinner, they should treat it as something other than a normal get together night?
Sorry to hear about the pain, Mama! Get a good nights sleep, we'll see you tomorrow! (*neck rub and HUG*)
Thanks GW *wink & hug back*
ready for dog day!
I cannot find the or4/6 and or4/5. Clues please?
or4/6 is a big, scary giant.
Nite mamabear *big hug* GW that's the way it works in my house...is there a story to be told here?
that's og4, no?
isn't that an og jac??
No it isn't, that's an og4/6.
or4 A n annual calendar containing instructions for the Mass and office to be celebrated on each day of the year
There is no or4/6.
weird break, sorry . . . or4 An annual calendar containing instructions for the Mass and office to be celebrated on each day of the year
The reason I post my query -- Kirsten cooked the turkey and the pies for dessert and we dressed up in nice outfits, to go over and share the holiday with our friends -- they provided all the other dishes. Once we got there, they were dressed in their standard casual clothes - he was in black jeans and a t-shirt - and kept leaving us to go do things on the computer -- I handled primary baby supervision due to the pregnancy (np there), but until I turned on the TV I had nothing to do - there was no real convo of note or anything -- it was a very underwhelming experience :(
Aix - there was no break for me. But thank you for explaining the word. I did not know that, even though I completed this grid many hours ago.
thats a funny one..thanx jac
nine words to go... need help with at7, please...
you are at*****ing to finish before midnight!
at7 - to try, as in your at7 to finish in time drop the at for a te5 as well
ro5/10 please??
ty
then drop last leter fo a t4
did someone call for the smeltzdog?
I'm sorry to here that GW, we had friends over today, (family lives out of town) we all cooked/drank/talked together. I love to have people over for holiday's since we have no family around, next time you and Kristen need to fly out here, we will show you a fun time (plus I love children)
ro5/10 - double the consonant in the preceding ro4/4
ta, to GW
goy y4/6 what's the other one?
Think I've dropped a bo7n (no idea of score since points for words changed) - means male spherical thing, by stopping up here tonight.
Oh Smeltz we are almost twins today...your going to make me get out of bed and go to my other computer and find my other icon huh...
Schroeder - thanks for the offer -- when I actually have the money I will consider taking you up on it :) I've never been to CA and I have to admit that I am the kind of person who would love to actually meet my fellow Babblers face to face -- I think it would be very interesting to get a few of us together in the same place ;)
the ye 6?
What do I see here? Do I have a Smeltzie wannabee?
GW the offer will always be open, I have 13 beautiful acres in the Sierras, indoor pool for the summer months and lots of toys for the winter months when and if we ever see snow (beginning to wonder this year)
last word & its a stupid do4/5... help!
ye4 - ends in a double consonant ye5 - 1st three letters are a variant spelling of your, last 2 are the sound a sheep makes
the second to4/4 pleese??
ah right, i meant 5. thanks.
Oh Smeltz, no one could ever be like you :) Your icon looks just like my 2 pups laying at my feet right now....
Jera - do you have the one that sounds like one of Pinky's exclamations (from Pinky and the Brain-- "Narf! P***!")
sorry I meant the second TO word
yea - get to come back for a while 2nd to 4/4 - foot digit + 1st vowel
thanks Ren
I don't think so, GW... can't remember the word, though!
Oh, it seems I haven't dropped a bollock stopping up here - I just wasn't pshycic and didn't get him up on time this morn. GRRRRRRRRRRRR1 arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!
do4/5's 1st - better clue than I just gave - Nike tag line "Do **"
cAN'T SPELL EITHER RIGHT NOW. aND BLOODY CAPS lock is stuck again!
Got it! Done! Yay! Gonna go climb under my big quilt... so long & thanks for all the fish!!
Does this mean you are in trouble, Jacula? Or just inconvenienced?
Jera - 42!
Nite Jera...sleep well
Congrats Jera - Merry Part! and Pleasant Dreams!
anyone have ye 6????
Don't adults wake themselves when necessary?
sleep well jera -
Jac - in my experience...
nava - no ye6, just ye5 and 4
ye4 - ends in a double consonant ye5 - 1st three letters are a variant spelling of your, last 2 are the sound a sheep makes
Wolfie - not sure at the moment. Just peed off, I think, Don't need that right now. I'd had a laid back day. Made sure of that. Maybe other half resented that? Who knows?
the fourth to word to4/4 pleese..neally there!
to4/4 - get around "to **"
thanks greywolf, i was making it more difficult
Yw, nava
amazing thanx GW
to 4/4 is like do 4/5
well, after getting yesterday's grid...I did terrible today.
to4 sounds a bit like the first part of an owl sound.. before toowooh!
Jac - then just breathe deep and let it go for now No other reall choice then to let it fester and that's no good
i didn't even get 300 yesterday - started after 8 PM - that was serious stuff
let it go or let it fester easy choice to me, LOL
I bet I did worse Smeltzie....*toast to the none finishers*
Oh, now I think about it, it sounds more like the last part of a word for adept at doing something, or the French word for 'left' as opposed to 'right'.
(*toast*)
I have 8 to finish and this is the best I have done..and thank you friends for the clues
i'll drink to that!
