New puzzle!
Hi
You were right, Scatty. Found a few more. Finished on 171.
you're quick tonight harp
Um, where are the vowels?
Hi Everyone
it appears we're using sometime "y"
hi
did I hear a gr 5/10 Harpjane?
That's about as far to the west as we can start a word!
now Ive had a quick look, i'm off to bed before Jon gets up, will see you all tonight good luck everyone, night night Jacula , there will probably be alot of G/24 when the grid gets going
nite scatty -
good evening from arizona usa
Nite scatty. I protest -- borg is not a word!
night renfield, ae you staying on the grid for a while, if you are I'll come clue hunting tonight
what? You want to be assimilated?
hi christa
i'm on it for a while scatty - it's been a tense week and this is my relaxing time
hi ren. is it a hard grid tonight?
My guess--this is a big one.
122
naw. Only 122
so no yoyo because it is a name?
My stats aren't up yet. Dial up. Plus I'm playing "White Trash Christmas"
Christa-that was the first word I saw!
Ah harp! We got DSL FINALLY in August. It's bliss.
yep but obviously it is not a good one!
reminds me of my friend bbnaz....she is definitely a yoyo!
oh harp - that so goes w/ some of the roads around here- someone decorated their old washing machine that's been sitting on their porch for ages
ren--dang. I wish I'd thought of that. It's hard to be original in the middle of yuppie land. We call our non-working cars "the guest rooms."
LOL harp - 8) or as sherry sez MDR
hope it's not a big grid -- only have 53 words and am stalled already!
nan 122
122 words -- only 2 7's and all the rest are 6 or less.
We're going to get something better than dial up if we have any money left after building a garage. (So we have someplace to store our dead cars!)
so do you ever come across my friend bbnaz?
you have a garage? i keep going to garage sales and no one will sell me a garage - we have a muddy road that we call a drive way - keeps people from visiting
bbnaz has been on a few nighte this week
bo 6/24
how come babblers anon doesn't list any "b" words?
gr 6/24; gr 6/27
don't know -- I have 18 'b' words already
Hee hee, I used a word before I knew it WAS a word! Now you all get to hunt for it!
it's probably yesterday's puzzle. Check the number
lalalalalala - i know which word it is
well big whoop on you... ;-P
A big hello to everyone on the far side of the flip!!
my father sent me to bed w/ out supper one night when i said that word

Welcome to the flip, Christa -- we're still figuring it out ourselves :D
Give me a b 5 14 with the word which has a 7 someone! c5 16 is what we have in planes and rockets and rockets have the b 5 14 I just mentioned.

O, come back out, melissamay. It's just good clean fun!
and no supper melissamay
Pro players! Do you know what letter the other 7 starts with? *tearing hair*
melissamay -- you have done wery well in the past, I know cos I've been there! WE all get excited now and then, is all (*consoling hug*)
Don't b 5 20 words around, people! You never know which word you use will be in the current grid! ;D
zubie, no one seems to know yet.
zubie - til brandyjack posts we have no insight to the other 7 unless we find it
Thanks everyone, but this one's already giving me fits...perhaps tomorrow will be better. Best of luck to you all in finishing!
zubie, you don't need to be a pro player to check the list at Babbler's Anonymous. It's not up yet tho.

good morning all time for a quick look before the daily grind.... got to do some christmas shopping
morning to you Karenth
bo 8 - "drill a hole" (sounds like that) + ci 4 5
Thios, all I did was google the definition that Norad gave (see log at 1.58)
Hi Karenth.I don`t envy you going Christmas shopping.
oh ok. thanx
i know :/ why is the male species so hard to buy for?
i love rubie's clues. piecing together words! thanx
karenth, I read somewhere that they are actually from another planet...could cause some of the difficulty.
It`s always the same system.Do they smoke, drink, play sport and drive.Next stage have they a hobby (eg cooking or gardening) favourite food then clothes.
Thios - I looked all over the log for rubie and have finally concluded that the thanks was for me ;D
ahhh that makes sense :D thats why they like machines and toys ....
lol. i m so sorry. i meant you of course
morning karen :) same struggle every year..I try to find one good present and buy it for all the men! ...last year was an electronic barometer...keeps them happy for hours...
It's ok, Thios :D I DID look for rubie, though. Was going to say 'hi'. LOL! I've been stuck on 93 for ages and so I went away and just came back.
And never reading instruction manuals bacause they "know" how it works.(as aliens they must not read earth languages);0)
Gosh I feel so much better now!!!!!!A good moan clears the fog. Thanks for listening folks.
barometer eh? the gaming brothers I have may not be happy with that. But thats better than trying to memorize the video games they have asked for...I'm not a gamer and have no clue what language they speak when they start into Xbox, PS2, etc.
hi sherb thats a good ploy... i made the mistake of a book of useless facts last year thats all we got all day.... useless facts LOL
Things with head phones (or equivalent) seem like a good idea until the wearer drones along or worse, sings aloud frquently off key.
speaking of which (shopping), I have to go and do some myself...65 still to go, so I'll be back...have a good day all :)

Never thought of that .Brilliant.He`ll have to have a coffee maker to go with him,and it won`t be me ;0)
See you later Karenth.
the mental picture of my dad in his shed in his comfy chair is hilarious. My mother would go mad.
ye only trouble is gettin him out when u need him 4 sumfin...cant think wot...unless its 2 fix sumfin thats always good bait.
Dinner maybe?
Meals move him `cos mine cooks.
lucky u mac i'd need a meal 2 get mine out.
He can`t play golf any more (not that he played very often) so now he watches LOTS of it along with other sports. He`d want tv with his chair and coffee.
mmm...that would mean him moving out 2 the shed...good idea!...bad idea..!mmm
Time for a coffee I think.Back soon.

hi all...been here for a couple of hours or so. just laying low coz i'm down to 28 words and i'm stumped!!!
Don't worry, ramix, just keep looking and all at once you will find a word that puts you on the track of a lot of others. At least, that is how it works with me when I get stumped :)
Me too ramix - though I'm down to 2 words left, both B's with 6 letters, and I'm worn out. Can't find 'em, don't care, goin' to bed!
Bye every1!

Sprite any clue for the one before the fish bo5/14 please
The E4/5 sounds like decent, but it means Of or relating to features or items analyzed without considering their role as a structural unit in a system, as in behavioral science or linguistics.
e4 to be path.... is to be feeble
davetins: french box
bo5 french box
TYVM sprite all b's now done

Got it Sprite.Thought it as a mathematical progression.Does this mean I should stop playing and apply cold compress to confused head!!!!!!!!!
Do you live in the country or the city, macadam?
Half way between Hydra.
*cucumber compress for macadam coming up* Sam, what do you mean by the O with one word?
Oh Bliss thankyou Sprite.
the o in the middle of the grid.
I'm 3 miles from Heathrow, but backing onto a farm, so ponies at the bottom of the garden, and visiting deer.

ob 4 musical instrument
That O is very much like the E, Sam. Of, relating to, or located near the ear; auricular.
I've got ya 4/6 and 5/12. What am I missing?
Are you used to all the noise overhead.Planes shoot up every minute or so and I would have thought it would have scared the horses.
No planes at all where I am! It's a military zone, Northolt air base is nearby, so passenger jets can't fly over. It's much quieter than North London where I was before.
ya4/8 chinese symbol half black half white. It`s one of those.
Got it, thanks. Must break for lunch now. Byeee!
Not so bad then Hydra.Do you ride?

Oops. Can't count. There are 17 c's. I have 11 ca's so far, not 10.
*resists urge to throw computer out of window* I've got 8, shall we compare lists?
looks like from an earlier log post, there are supposed to be 5 co's
11 ca's?
urgh, the co's...I can't count the number of times I've typed in 'cobalt'. Stupid science teacher...
Yep, 11 ca's. (counted again, just to be sure!)

there's a ca 5/12 between the two ca 4/5's
yw miyavi...thought those words would spill right out of you too! lol...I think we often think we've typed those kind
ca 4/5 and plural at the end. Sounds like automobiles.

Er, going to have to say thanks but no thanks coosin. Even though it is 4:30 here I have taken far too many cold meds to drink champers tonight! :)
Not usually, mtn, but with no heat in my puter room, no more Naked Bable for me :(

Ooooh! I found the word mtn used!! That euphemistic cursing will get you in trouble...
why is it no one comes out with any 6 or seven letter words....% (
lol... and I was being polite, didn't even notice it yet... LOL
*sobbing* where is it...
cause 4 letter words always get you in trouble...
I used it talking to darleen about her hottie santa that my sister would love to see...
Oooooh...grrr. Mtn, next time, could you use words that I don't have?
*frantic sounds of refreshing*
Like when I post letter lists, and accidently leave the last 5 words intact? now now Miy... you have your 2 letter lists... I hope that BrandyJack is ok...
I also desperately need 1st bo 5/14. Help?
The first ra 5/16? Anyone?
ra5/16 is pertaining to the 'crazy' dog disease, where you get shots in the stomach. Also sounds kinda jewish.
thanks gwen!
*clinging to Mtn's legs* But I'm deeeesperate...
how many do you have sweetie? I have 33, at work and listening to christmas music...
bo5/14: A small restaurant or nightclub
I'm on 72, getting distracted by music and trying to stop myself throwing my computer out of the window :(
Need a bo4/8 after the bo5/16 that goes with stocks. Got the deep bell sound. What's the other one?
any other clues for bo5/14? I guess I don't go out enough at night to know about nightclubs and small restaurants.
Gwenski, containing lots of skeleton. :)
gwen - it is also the French word for box...
Uh, that clue was for the bo 4/8
Grrr...okay, 46 left, has anyone got the 8?
thanks Queenruejean. Just three more to go, that pesky b and then two t's.
Have the stats for today's puzzle been posted. I checked Babblers Anon and it only shows 12/9 stats, did a refresh and still don't have them. Any ideas???
bo8 is a mineral. Ends in ci4/5
DONE...anyone need a clue??
are hursh's two letter clues in alpha order? getting confused looking through the bazillion bo's..
yes babs
hmmmm... a clue for every 7 and 8 letter word? LOL
Still need more help with first bo5/14. Also two to 4/4's near the end. Have 'blow your horn' and 'carry your bag'
temple every 7 plays off the word just before it
Thanks Gwen! Is that the ci 4 that means to quote? That's the only one I have
for the 8, if you have the c4/5 then you were bored. take the hint from the last word of that sentence.
Could use some help with the e... details, please?
Gwen - bo5/14 is also the French word meaning 'box'...
yes, miyavi. You are on the right track

Ack! Sorry! My bad. I was thinking of the 4/6.
that list has a bo 6 24 missing - it goes after the bo5/14, bo6/24, bo4/6
thanks for the French lesson. Needed french/english dictionary to find it, tho. Now just two to's to go, and I can start decorating for Christmas.
How many letters in the e word? Second letter would be great too...

Temple, Babblers anon isn't working for me *breaks down into tears* I have no idea why, I think it's just my computer plotting against me...
I dusted off my french dictionary, too... not too bad a shape for 20 years old...
cybernan - I found bo6 by googling 'aguaji' from an earlier clue :)
yesterday someone said that ez board was hacked...i don't know how they could know that...
Chessy, are you joking??
Thanks, Chessy --- see I'm also missing the bo 6/26 (didn't know there was one til Atalante's post) Any help there?
need 2 r's. I have ra 5/16 ra 4/5 ra 4/5 ra 5/12 ra 5/16 ra 4/6 ro 4/5 ro 5/12 ro 4/4 ro 5/10 ro 6/27 ro 7/40 ro 5/14 ro 5/14 ro 7/40
Ye gods you weren't joking. What a game.
Jera - it was a definition of a grouper fish, also called aguaji someone found earlier :)
YEAH! Done! Now I can finally start working on getting the house some Christmas spirit. Thanks one and all.
Sorry -- my error -- it was bo 6/24 and I already have it.
I see, Chessy... but it LOOKS like nonsense typing...
from hurshy's list: ra 5 16 ra 5 12 ra 6 21 ra 4 5 ra 4 5 ra 5 12 ra 5 16 ra 4 6 ro 4 5 ro 5 12 ro 4 4 ro 5 10 ro 6 27 ro 7 40 ro 5 14 ro 5 14 ro 7 40
Where is everyone getting the word list?
from Babblers Anonymous
Jera - but then so many babble words look like nonsense typing to me :)
thanks, Une
I have ro7, what is the other 7, please... will be needing a warmup break soon... *shivers pitifully*
they're both ro7/40
gnubee, you're missing ra5/12 and ra6/21. Comes right after the ra5/16. Has to do with transmitting coded radar signals.
Good Morning All: Been home sick past couple of days and the only thing I have accomplished is Babble...not a good thing this time of year.

That's a in 6/24, and I have it .... isn't there an in 6/21 following the in 4/8?
lol... agreed ! :)
I love the ca5/16 choc alt... not as sweet as most chocs, which I dislike...
Anybody who actually thinks it's a substitute doesn't understand the connection between chocolate and LOVE!

I need an o-word,I have ob 4/6 ob 4/6 or 4/5 ot 4/5

Sorry folks, not everyone can get to babbler's anon today... figured I'd help (there you go Miy!!!!)
Temple.....shall we have one anyway??? I have to be careful with those.....1 and i`m anybody`s...2 and i`m everybody`s !!!!!!! LOL
okLOL
mtnjock, ac 5/12, songular of ac 6
*swinging Mtn around* thank you thank you thank you! *Mtn in danger of going into orbit*
I need 3 n's, have ni 4/4, evening
I will help keep you ground sweetie, we all need the list from time to time (rather we admit it or not... LOL)
Miya: with all the posting u missed my quest. what is your xmas celebration like and how much time is your school closed? thanks been going over different celebrations around the world with school kids here
Ooooh...er, I don't know actually. I know we close next week on Friday, then I think it school stays closed until after new Year. For some reason the date 6th of Jan is in my mind. *heart shining with love of the purest, purest sort for Mtn*
Gnubee, there's na 4/4, a greek temple/shrine, ni 5/14 ...wish I had a clue for it o_O and ni 6/24, the plural
ni 5/14--it's a word written on rechargable batteries.
Thanks, Miyavi
How many words today?
ni 5/14--two elements, from the periodic table
You're welcome...I suffered enough trying to get them myself, I'm not sadistic enough to sit back and watch while other people do the same! ^_^
same here for you MIY.... ;D
Kristinarose, 122 :)
any clues for the to 4/6? I have the things you play with.
Oooh, Mtn, can you see the jealous looks on all the other women's faces? :D *hugs*
missing a last to 4/4 probably not the very last one..
harpjane: Japanese tire co.
bye everyone-bbl tonight to finish...happy babbling!
No... not mine Miyavi, although he is still v.nice to look at !!!!!!!!! LOL
Thank you
Later Temple :)
harpjane, to 4/6 starts like the playthings, switch the last letter, then pluarlise for a to 5
*gasps* Lotti, how can you not love such a kind and noble gentleman such as Mtn?
I've already asserted that I lost all mechanical ability when I married a mechanic. The to thing is further evidence... Thank you for the clue!
anyone have the BO 6/27 can't for the life of me figure it out. thanks.
Need you ask!!!! I`m devoted to another :o) !!!!!!!
Hi sis! (((x)))
Lottie, he is cute to look at, but probably is high maintenance... most buff guys are ... LOL (thanks Miy, you make my day.... )
Ooooh yes...*sighs* Torgone can't compare :D
ok, so the ni's are a type of battery
to 4/4--I have 1. "get around to--", 2. What you carry, 3. What a horn does. What am I missing?
Mtn, thank YOU...those stats were great :)
Hey Sis ((((((xx)))))) How ya doing ( I haven`t mailed yet) Mtn....I know exactly what you mean!!!!! Can`t do with men who are in love with the mirror !!!!
any clues for in 6/27?
first ra 5/12 please?
LOL... tell me about it, I have 2 bothers like that, and it never works for them. You have to love yourself for who you are, and then love the one you are with for who THEY are, not who you want them to be.
bo 6/27: french good + highest card in deck (change final vowel)
Hey, no worries sis :) I'm much better thanks. How you doing tonight?
Woah...that's both profound and confusing.
harpjane...crispy bread without one vowel... Thanks for your to's...helped me finish them!
Yay Mtn.....a guy with his head screwed on the right way!!!! Sis i`m not bad.....moody but appart from that i`m ok :)
Thank you mtnjock!
Miy, you have to love people for who they are. Flaws and all, they may change over time, but you can't change them. They will grow on their own. All you can do is look at them, love them for who they are, and accept them. No one can change you but you. (wink)
Did brandyjack not post today, or is it just that some of us are still getting yesterday's stats?
hi all : ) how come you're posting lists again? has Bab Anon gone awol?
cyber, look at the previous 50... I posted stats
I still have yesterday's stats...
Mtn....we don`t want Miyavi to change though do we??!!! She`s beautiful :)
Aw sis, did something happen? Hi babbler, sweetie, dahling! :)
Need help with ro5/14 have metal being
I saw that and thank you Mtnjock -- I was wondering about brandyjack.
Hi Babbler :) ((x))
some people can't get to B Anon, so I posted (specifically for MIY)
*silent in the presence of such wisdom*
ro - blue egg laying bird
no we definitely want Miy to be her sweet self. She said it was profound and confusing, I was trying to help a bit with more verbage.
Sis...only cos my pmt has probably provoked it!!!!
*cheesy grin*
I'm getting to Bab anon -- but getting yesterday's post.
still looking for first ra 5/12?
well if it's for Miya, that's ok. anything for my little penguin. :D
yeah, me too. Who said Brandyjack could take a day off?!
hi lola, sweetie daahling : )
cyber, look at the other subject headings, hurshy posted the list today there.
ra + no if's, a***, or buts
cybernan: it has a rabbit at the end.
Oh dear lotti! Well the only thing I have found remotely helpful for that is lots of chocolate :)
Darleen, where did you find your icon, my sisters would melt for him?
first ra5/12 I have is the plural of the ra4/5
I hope BJ`s ok.....he may be ill :(
*smack* Thanks, tbug Is Miya a penguin, too???
Hi mtnjock.... it's Jake G from JARHEAD. luscious, no?
Well, Da**, yeah, send it to me? My sisters would die! sabirkla@fedex.com, if you don't mind...
(( Lotti xx )) : )
LOL Sis......!!!!! Well i`m done, so off to do dinner. If you see my hun, please give him this ((((((((XXxxXX))))))))) Prob mail you tomorrow sis....have to get out this chair i`ve got back ache now!! Seeeeyaaaa xx
Thanks, Tbug..had just found it...Darleen, you have the second ra 5 I think, not the first
hmmm... i can only see yesterday's stats too. off to c+p all these lovely lists in the log..... brb
Mtnjock ... on his way to you now
See ya Babs(((xx))) :)
Cheers sis! Don't worry about the mail...no rush :) ((x))
25 words to go... must go thaw out my toes.. back for more later (I hope)!
check under the other subject headings (about 2 down from the usual place) Hurshy posted
Back again with the BO's...down to my last one, of course it's the BO 8/55 tried everything. Any help appreciated!!!
For the bo 8 - put the ci 4/5 after an island name which repeats itself.
ba 8 - chemical compound consisting mostly of magnesium borate
Thanks!
missing a bo 5/18...not opposite of females
ty Haz, i needed the bo 8 too!
I wondered whether the clue for the bo 8 would work - glad it has.
*computer finally comes back to life* Woo...sorry about that everyone :) Computer died in a crash and a bang :/ ...what's this about me and penguins?
only me, miya ; ) how are you today?
darleen, it didn't come through, try sending it to mtnjock@yahoo.com.
I'm fine thanks...only feeling competitive and cold :) Expecting to see a polar bear floating by on an iceberg any time soon.
does anyone have the second letter list?
know how you feel, miya. i'm cold today too. got the heating on full... : (
bo 8, it ends in your ci4/5, and the first part it is atomic #5 on the periodic table.
I'm sitting here with a hat on and my hood up :D
lalobstah, check the previous 50 or so, posted it about 30 minutes ago...
oh, okay. thanks.
oh no, miya! why? on top of your heating??? oh dear :(
Okay, has anyone got clues for the i's? I have the one which all pro babblers have, the opposite of out + what babies have been, and the opposite of out + pony with the first letter changed.
Babbler, as my friend is never tired of telling me, I "need to get some meat on me" lol :)
there is a ic 4, which is what you call the little pics on your desktop...
help, help! missing 2 ca 5/12's...not the one with the auto in it
There's the archaic version of you can for ca 5/12
Yup, I have that one...the one which all pro babblers have :) Thank you, though :)
Miya- you're looking for in 4/8
Look at the numbers
*bangs head against desk* Thanks Haz...can't believe how dim I am today!
ca 5/12 - old english for be able to
No! No head banging - it will make you even dimmer...
There are two ca 5/12 with autos
Hi folks! How do you like my pirate boots? :)
It depends on who is wearing them, Sherry.
Hi sherry! Yeah, depends who's wearing them.... :)
Haz: how about Jack Sparrow?
shiver me timbers!
Now I'm smiling!
In that case they are the sexiest darn boots I have seen in a while now! :D
just want to point out that i posted the complete second letter listing on babanon earlier today - it's the third one down.
thanks, cybernan...still missing one without autos
B Words... baxxx 5 / 16 baxxxx 6 / 27 baxx 4 / 7 baxx 4 / 7 baxxx 5 / 16 baxxx 5 / 20 baxx 4 / 8 baxx 4 / 6 baxx 4 / 6 baxxx 5 / 14 baxxx 5 / 18 baxxx 5 / 14 baxxxx 6 / 30 baxxxx 6 / 24 baxxxx 6 / 30 bixxxx 6 / 27 bixx 4 / 6 boxx 4 / 6 boxxx 5 / 14 boxxxx 6 / 27 boxx 4 / 7 boxxx 5 / 16 boxx 4 / 8 boxx 4 / 8 boxx 4 / 6 boxxx 5 / 14 boxxxx 6 / 24 boxx 4 / 6 boxxxx 6 / 24 boxx 4 / 6 boxxxxxx 8 / 55 boxx 4 / 6 boxxx 5 / 18 boxx 4 / 8 boxxx 5 / 18 boxx 4 / 8
Haz & Lola: lol!
in case some folks haven't noticed it there.
thks hurshy!!!!
Thanks Hurshy...
Thanks, Hurshy. And with 7 left to find, I'm finally using it! :) I MAY get my first puzzle of over 100 today. I usually don't have time to finish. :(
Any help on the first ra 5/12 and 6/21?
I'm working off your list right now hurshy. Who could have beleieved there were so many bo words?
ra 5/12 rhymes with ba5 breakfast meat
I'm imagining Miyavi is wearing those boots! Okay, nothing else for it...I'm sneaking away to watch PV's, get my head in order. Back soon!
Cybernan, ra + the opposite of pro. And the plural.
See ya Miya!
think of the masked animal, lose a vowel
if people are on during the rest of the day, and other people are looking for the listing, perhaps people could point it out to them? being the third post it's not as noticeable as brandyjack's.
wow, what a variety of clues for the ra5! we're so creative.
Thanks, Hurshy -- just printed out the part I needed -- working on the last 7 words now. Many thanks, Queen
You're very welcome, Cybernan.
the ladies' curling final has just come on, so the last 7 can wait! Bye for now.
Hairdressing competition?
bwhahahahahaha.... dueling stylists, on the next IRON CHEF...
better yet, the next WWF Smackdown!
lol haz! curling is a sport you play on ice. one person pushes the disc (sorta like in shuffleboard) but then two people frantically sweep the ice in front of the disc to make it end up in a good spot.
Miyavi could be the model for the under-18 section.
Bye Cybernan!
Hurshy - I know! They play it in the north of Scotland.
There will be no blow dryers below the belt.
ah. so hard to tell when people are joking. :)
and no illegal use of product to blind the opponent
There are some curlers whom I would not want to meet in a dark alley....they look so big and strong.
bi 6?
Scissor locks are a very popular move. Clipping is forbidden. And none of this shampoo. Only the real stuff!
Jane, is that a rating on the Kinsey scale?
Finally finished...yay, back to life now. Bye Babblers! The grid I put up earlier may show up some day...it is for 4+ letter words. By ya'all as they say here in Texas!
Harpjane, think of a Uni.... with 2 horns.
FINISHED!!!!!!!
I'm probably going to need the fish for this but I cannot see the ra4/6! Please help?
mtnjock-very good, I had to think about that one!
Congrats Speedfreak!
Congrats Babs1 and Speedfreak Sam!
Woo! Well done speedfreak sam! :)
Great Babs1!
Woo, just got back in time to congratulation Sam, it seems! *gives massive hug* Well done!!!
man i'm off the grid is killing me!
Lola, the bells ra.... loudly.
lola - the postman did this twice
See ya Speedfreak! See ya Babs1!
whoa! imagine what Sam's vocab will be when he's an adult...
and here is the Cod of D'oh
Aaargh! If you guys knew how many times I've missed that letter in the top corner...... :)
Haz, if the word you're talking about is "farted" then we have the same postman
Miyavi!!!
*lola accepts said cod with as much dignity as possible*
Miya, LMFAO!!!!
miyavi..the odor is coming through the grid!
I'm serious. Been downwind of the royal mail one too many times
lol : ) that's my ickle penguin!
Oh my God, open the windows!
Yup :) Taking pride in my disgusting and immature sense of humour :)
A clothes peg! A clothes peg! My kingdom for a clothes peg!
bo 5/18? I have the one that sounds like a toy for young males.
bo 5/18 - military leader in old imperial Russia
last word ---- that pesky in 6/27! Help please! Former clues didn't get me anywhere.
cyber- in plus a three letter word for a prisoner plus why? :)
Cybernan, think of the crunchy thing you like to eat ice cream in. It's sort of like that.
Thank you Iola -- back to the curling -- will return later to help out.
Yeah, Cybernan!!!
I'm done too. Have to run, good luck everyone, see you tomorrow :)
Congrats Lola! See ya!
Nice one Lola! :)
BTW -- this is the first time I've completed a puzzle without the aid of brandyjack's list -- thank you Hurshy and mtnjock for the c, i, n, r and t lists, and thank you all for such excellent clues.
Congrats Lola!
Congrats, lola :)
bravo cyber and lola !
first bo5/14 anyone? ty
We have all missed Brandyjack today -- perhaps tomorrow we could come up with a suitable tribute to him with our icons (how many different bottles of brandy are there?)
first bo 5/14: french box
hurshy wanted Bread to be the theme tomorrow, but I think maybe we could ask her if we could move it a day. Hurshy? you here? what do you think?
thx cyber
done. what's our theme for Sunday?
congrats, harp !
Congrats Harp!
Well done, Harp :)
Woo! Go Harp! :)
Curling is in the 4th end, so must run -- somebody please let us know if the theme tomorrow is to be bread or brandy.
I gather from your coments that there's no BJ list today? Any stats available anywhere else?
Bread. So I'm told from reading Babbler's profile.
Hurshy made stats for today... It is the 3rd down in babanoy.
Sherry -- hurshy posted a list -- 3rd down in bab. anon.
hi sherry, yes, go to bab anon, 3rd one down from BJ's. Hurshy posted a full list todya.

Hey Dachef! Where were you? Haven't seen you in ages! How are you?
first ba6/30 pls, anyone? ty
Been working away from home - living in a hotel! :( Very boring!!! Got to do the same next week! Been having Babble withdrawal symptoms! Whats been happening in the Babbleverse?
Bab- add a letter to your ba 5/14 above it...
nothing happens in babbleverse, we just hunt words...right?
yep
; D
Why the flying approximate fumblings is yoyo not a word? Now thats really extracting the proverbial.
an iteresting choice of words
maybe cos it's hyphenated??? dunno. cant see the ba6, kristina..... : (
Hi everyone ... like the new logo???
do you have the 5..
It's great, Sam!
Hey Sam, welcome back :) Love your new icon :)
very nice sam
hold me back, evan, i'm very garrulous today.... nice one, Sam. I've been thinking of having Toys as a theme some time soon. would you like that? kristina, i've got all the ba words... : ( except that one....
good icon Sam, a touch of Sonic the Hedgehog there if Im not very much mistaken!
there are two ba5/30s ... root of both of them is ba5/14 ... think of English aristocracy.
Babbler, think of a wraparound garment & replace the first letter with a B.
ok.. add the letter in the tp left corner to the end..
* looks around to find something to help babbler with, a muzzle mabye, only finds a bra, decides best not to use *
now that's just wrong........... ; ) thx guys
down to last few...any help with RO 7/40 the last one??? Thanks
<spies evanout holding her bra and has to go and have a lie down>
* decided bra was a d*&^ed painful thing anyway, burns it on a stick *
Last one & I have to beg for help. Any clues for the first Bo 5/18?
Girlfriday, if you have ro6/27, add an s.
evening peoples, any chance of a clue for the in6/24 and the 6/30s? I'm presuming they're simply since no one else seems to have asked, buy my brain won't make words anymore!
I usually try to help whenever I can, but I've only just started! Also, the way my brain is working tonight, you might have to wait quite a while!!!
that was * ba* 6/30s for anyone without their telepathy switched on....
trish-in + bo4
Thankyou harpjane :)
Trish, Ba 6/30s are off the same base. Ba 5/14 English nobility.
ba6 -30 take the ba6 24 above drop last letter add sometimes vowel
queenrj & pthomp, my thanks.
Trish, you are welcome. HOORAY! I'm done. Usually don't have time to finish.
congrats queen!
Nicely done, QueenRJ :) wtg
Nice one, Queen! I got bored of monkey typing R's and am not sitting here in sunglasses, a woolly hat and a pair of angel wings
in6-27 clue?
Thanks Babbler & Trish. Should probably go see to sick husband now.
in + prisoner + why?
Congrats Queen! Well done!
in + the furry c4
Thanks, Miya. I was monkeytyping the last Bo I had forever. Or so it seemed. The sunglasses & wooly hat were not far off for me. :)
Thanks, Dachef. Hope next week isn't too bad for you.
Miy - angel wings? Last week I went to a fancy dress party dressed as a cow (the theme was cowboys and indians. I was "cow-boy" - geddit?), and when I woke up the next morning, I had the usual morning after thoughts going thru my head - "oh no, I did that, I did this", and then I thought "oh no, I was dressed as a giant cow"! Strangest feeling!
time for a break and get some dinner. I'll try and chat less when i get back..... : /
Dachef, at least you were in the MOOO-d. :)

Hi Ishult! Miya: 33 left to go!
Grrr, Sherry! A fight to the death!
Good afternoon all. Please…I need help with my last to 4. I’ve got: the amphibian, the drinking mug, the horn or whistle sound, to haul or lug, an object to play with and it’s different ending letter, and the one spelled like when you need to do something you eventually get around to**. So, any clues for the last? Feels like I’ve typed all possibilities!
norad, i didn't get all of your descriptions, but maybe: something you have for breakfast minus the a or to + what you say when you leave minus the e?
That was it LeslieAnn!!!! Mucho Points for saving my sanity today!! Thx...
not a problem :)
any clues for the ro7's (no I don't have the base words I am missing 5 ro's)

ob** when you die someone writes this for you ot** when you use words to describe something, you often put suffix on it such as chaot**
oops...haven't worked on the o's yet...I'm missing 25 words so I'm checking the listjust now.
Thanks MTN!

Hi Yoink. Have you been out this evening?
hey yoink - been meaning to ask you if you like frank sinatra - how do you feel about bobby darin? (mack the knife)
Hi Mab, sure have, been seeing bands from about 5 this afternoon till about 1:30
Thanks ren. Finished can now go make dinner
yw pthomp - what's for din din?
Renfield, I don't know much Bobby Darin, the main one I can think of is "Beyond the sea (La Mer)" which I love
Excuse me for interrupting, but I love Bobby Daren. Also, I the 90th anniversary of Sinatra's birth is coming up.
babbler - i've been gone all day - i missed the brandy idea - can you give me an idea so i know what to do?
din din... camembert!
What about bread day?
omg - beyond the sea - i love it too! have you seen the original manchurin candidate w/ frankie?
renfield, I haven't seen a single Sinatra movie
I have.
why isn't yoyo a word??
challal?
Lickety, it's hyphenated
Not sure lickety, but I think it's hyphenated, although Babble needs no reason.
Hi , just finished, want any help with anything
bugger!
Hi All -- back to finish
SNAP!
yobo should be a word!!
Hi Scatty and GreyWoulf
Hi scatty, Grey. Just finished myself.
yoink - they are frank playing frank the rat pack guy in whatever he's in - delivers his lines really well - and you just have to enjoy him - he's cool
Ren -- continuing the distracting movies commentary from last night -- I have one of my fav Tony Cutis/Jack Lemmon movies of all time on right now -- The Great Race :D
Hey Yoink! Scatty - Congrats on finishing!
hi scatty - gw
THE GREAT RACE!!! That is awesome!
I think he was a pretty good actor, personally. He always said he had only one good take in him.
Push the button, Max!!
Wolfie, toni curtis was the best looking actor ever, i used to drool every time i watched one of hi films
Funniest movie ever!!
oh yes - i've been watching miami vice - why? i don't know - i guess becasue of elvis the alligator? how about some like it hot?
on the iceberg... push the button!! too much!!!!
what about tony curtis and roger moore in the tv series persuaders - shlock - but nice looking
'Some like it hot' has perhaps the best ending line for a movie ever -- 'Nobody's perfect' -- LOL
There just don't seem to be many Sinatra movies on for me to watch and whenever there is I always miss it for some reason. The only movie I have seen with Tony Curtis in (I think) is Spartacus which I do like
Are you serving the last of your challah, Ren?
Never saw the persuaders :(
roger was sooooo ugly next to tony! that's how hot tony is!
Yoink, that has to be the worst tony curtis movie -- he delivers his lines with a brooklyn accent! Thank goodnesss his acting improved.
challal - all gone - 8( sorry
does anyone remember champion the wonder horse on a saturday morning or crossroads (the early version)
champion gene autry's horse? I watch gene autry on the western channel
i used to love the persuaders.....
i dont get a western channel
it's on bbc america here on friday nights
The only horses I remember from TV are Mr. Ed and Silver -- I used to love the original Clayton Moore Lone Ranger :)
Hi Babs :)
hi yoink ((x))
(*Hug for Babbler*)
western channel has the old cowboy movies - some new movies - but the roy, gene, and hoppy movies are all on
ty GW, really need that today. *hugs* back : )
group hug for babbler ((( ))))
'Sup Babbler? -- nothing too bad, I hope :\
im a sad person, i like watching star trek, Little house on the Prarie or Lassie films if I can find any on, then I can have a good cry
Aww, (((((Babs)))))
just under a few clouds, GW : (
thanks yoink. how are you today?
Star Trekking, across the universe Always going forward Never in reverse!
I admit to being a Little House watcher myself, scatty --- it used to be on in the afternoon when I would get home from school and I would just leave it on in the background while doing my homework :)
Doing just fine, been out in Bolton watching several bands and am now home and feeling too sober so have a bottle of white at my side. How are you doing?
scatty - they are starting to put a lot of the cowboy shows on dvds that you can get at what we call the dollar stores. do you guys have anything like that?
We come in peace, Shoot to kill, shoot to kill, We come in peace, Shoot to kill, men
I could kill a glass of that wine, yoink. Got a cup of herb tea, listening to the Chiller Cabinet.
GO GREY, GO GREY, GO GREY!!
lickety - I used to have a taped copy of the 'unofficial Star Trek parody album' It was a compilation of various ST related songs and comedy sketches, unmfortunately the tape was lost years ago -- but it was a blast! :D
renfield, we have blockbusters where we hire dvd's at 3-50, they sell second hand ones but they are the usual rubbish no-one else wants to watch
the beg a thon is showing roy orbison again - love his music -
Always going forward 'Cause we can't find reverse!
Babs you'd be very welcome to it, it's a chenin from the Anjou region. I've got some Ramones on, I need volume after the music I've was out listening to, ears have taken a battering! I fell asleep to the chiller cabinet last night on Sky
grey... that's a shame... it would have been a great party tape
checked the fridge.. ren it's gonna be green enchiladas and a corona.
ren - our pbs is showing roy as well
aww, yoink! I wondered where you'd got to... I love the Ramones, they make me laugh. Might have to treat myself to some wine tomorrow. Though is that a good thing to do when you're under a cloud..... ? :/
mmmmm..... camembert AND wine!
Babs, I've never known it to be a bad time for wine :D
lickety -- it was kinda cool, though now it would be great just to get peoples reactions to the song 'Uhura'
ok on the green enchilads - i want mexican food so bad - and traffic is brutal tonight - i'm the desinated driver at these parties so i only drink water or diet coke
wine on the breath, kissing the kids off to school... now THAT'S a bad time!
wine it is then : ) so who were these bands you saw? any good?
wolfie - he was one of a kind - my cousins had all of his records and when i stayed the night - i always played them - how about that growl?
renfield, we( me and hubby) wnet to see a guy singing Roy Orbison songs, he was bril, he even looked the part, if anyone started to talk while he was singing, he stopped, put his finger to his lips , shoooooo a couple of times. he was being brave considering we were in a very rough working mans club, that kind of place you tend to do as your told, bl good night though
grey. I don't know why uhura didn't have her own album... she was the perfect lady for cosmic music!!
can i have a clue for the last ro 7/40
Mostly local to Bolton, one from Leeds, and average for the main part. The headliners Hella though are from Northern California and were a class above. Lots of noise, a severe wall of it
Oh yes, ren -- as a metter of fact, that's how I first learned to growl, by emulating him ;) I have to admit that the only real exposure I had to him was via the radio -- my parents weren't much into him and we never had a lot of money when I was growing up
scatty - i think it's great when artist are so loved that others want to impersonate them.
ro 7/40 same as 5/14 add you drink water to get rid of h.. ups
lickety - have you heard the song -- it is one of the most contrived pieces of shlock out there, being good only due to it's badness -- though it is better than the actual lyrics that were meant to be sung to the original theme :)
oh gw - that growl - we need a sound button!
Sounds good. So, are your ears ringing then? ??
Babs, for sure. I was standing near the speakers a few times and I thought my ears were going to bleed. They are recovering... slowly
agreed, ren ;D
scatty / lickety- what do you think? sound button?
ren, I used to live in Wales, about 100yards from a golf club. they had some excellent groups there, mind you some were tone deaf as well.
grey... I heard it and thought it was bizarre myself, but am sure it was a better version of the original
yep - sound button SOUNDS good
yikes! I've done that a few times. : ( I started to carry earplugs with me (after about a decade of abuse!), and my friends all laughed at me. Didn't stop me. Hope they recover soon. : )
i love music - wish i had a better singing voice - i do have cousin who is tone deaf - and she sings all the time
babbler... my dad took me to an INXS concert with cotton wool in his ears... I was so proud, didn't care about the cotton balls hanging all out of his ears!!
lol lickety : D ren - are they the boots you were telling me about?
I sing in the bath sometimes, i must be tone deaf, the dog thinks im a cat as well as the rest of he family
I love singing......... though I have no idea how I sound! Don't care........ it's fun... : )
ren -- I sang for school chorus in junior high, but didn't follow through when I changed school districts once I hit 9th grade -- as a result, I love to sing but am hideously aware of how off key I truly am! :D
no these are donald pliner - they come in black and gold as well - as you can see - i have a big foot
I tend to limit my singing to the car where I let it all go!
I sang a John Denver song at my wedding.... had a couple of shots of vodak before hand....
.... same as GW.... school choir at primary school... didn't continue.... do know when i go off..... euw! : /
But I usually don't let that stop me -- just like when I decide to dance -- I know I have no ability fo rit, but sometimes you just have to say stuff it and have fun!
I must admit the car is a good place to really turn up the music and sing to my hearts content, it also blocks out the booming from the teens in the next car
yoink - you know it's a must to sing to the people in the car next to you.
dance!!! ha ha... my bits wobble when I dance... very unattractive
I have the opposite problem; I can hear exactly how badly I sing. I just can't make my voice hit any kind of note. Therefore, I do not sing.
yoink - i've been singing along to cocteau twins and love spirals downwards (heard of them? they're on last). good thing no one can hear me..... :D
tor-tor (( hugs )) : )
led zeplin is a good one to listen to in the car when you are sat there waiting for your son to finish fooyball training and its thundering and lightening, which i can't stand
torg - is it that kimd of evening?
I love to dance. I just adore it. don't care how I look, it just feels good. : )
Heya Baboo!
Heya :D
tor -- I hear that! My biggest prob is that I sing in the key of wandering and man do I know it :)
when do the americans start playing xmas music in the shops, we seem to getting earlier each year, the decorations will be going up in the summer at this rate
anyone! what is a 'creative director'?
Hiya ren! I would like to able to sing, but I just can't. So I don't.
scatty - the walmarts put out the christmas stuff during october
creative director - I'd say someone with a vision of how something is going to look, but with an artistic bent. I'd say Madonna is a good example of a creative director. why?
and I thought we were bad, Asda is the same shop isn't it
sactty -- same over here -- the xmas music started halloween week and some stores had a whole Xmas in july thing this year complete with music and decorations
An artistic bent what?
Scatty, usually we get Christmas music starting the day after Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in November), but every now and then you hear it a few days before that--any time after November 20th. Of course, by January 1, all the Valentine's decorations are in the stores....
creative director as in software?
Elin Woods! Creative director of Tiger Woods.... I don't think so... what is this show going on about??
a creative director is someone who creates, then directs and gets paid a small fortune for it hee hee
am watching a show about celebrity wife etc
lickety, that's what I would call a load of codswallop....
codswallop!! ha ha ha... love that word
lickety - sounds like a show rationalising how celebrity's use lagalese and loophole to avoid paying taxes on all their earnings by creating positions for family members
evening all
grey... it is a show that degrades women, at the same time giving them 'purpose' for spending their spouses money! All horses**t to me too!
evening eva
why does everyone panic buy at christmas, the shops are only closed for one day, I hate food shopping this time of year, it takes longer to pay for the food than actually working out what you need to buy
A creative director is someone who is not creative and has no skills to direct anything, but is someone's friend, relative etc. and thus on the payroll ..
Hi evanadine!
Heya eva!
nice one torgone, had to giggle at that one
I always think of Yoko Ono when I hear that term, scatty.
does anyone ever watch wife swap
torg your sense of humor is great!
tor... that would be a 'Paris Hilton"
Hi Eva :) Babs, I tried to say about 10 mins ago that i haven't heard of spirals downwards but it wouldn't go through for some reason.
I swapped my wife for a life of happiness ..
when my mom was in the hospital - i watched the wife swap show -
scatty -- I try to avoid any of the so called 'reality' TV shows -- about the only one I have seen in the past year was Nanny 911 which absolutely amazed me with the lack of parenting skills out there :)
i watch the apprentice and that travel dude on pbs
that happens to me too, yoink. most annoying.... : ( I heard Love Spirals Downwards on Last FM that day when I put their radio on Cocteau Twins. There's a little playlist on Last, if you want to hear them. : )
grey... nanny 911 is crap.... if you aren't screaming at your kids, you aren't spending enough time with them!
the wife swap shoe i saw was a rich mom and a poor mom
that's show not shoe - i must be hallucinating
wolfie, i only watched nanny 911 a couple of times, my hubby stopped me watching it as i was shouting abuse at the tv every two mins, with wife swap they only do it for the money, no-one in their right mind would treat a complete stranger like sh.. on national tv
we get nanny 911 over here too, I think.... but I haven't seen it.
bab... super nanny is heaps better!
scatty - have you seen bridezilla? we accidently recorded on the wrong channel and it was so stupidly hilarious - and men want to marry these women????
super nanny is wonderful. excellent show!
Oh yeah - Kirsten jus treminded me that we also watch MTv's 'Mad Mad World' and coming away from it wondering how the witch, Fiona, could justify her actions on the show which seemed to be in direct opposition to the Wiccan Reddae
ren - I haven't even heard of that one!
ren, was it the woman with fair hair and the step child that kept his room like a spare room. you missed a good one last week, one family and four kids all slept in one room so that the other room could be used as a playroom for the young ones, the eldest child was 15
bridezilla is frightening! I don't see the love... just the desire to marry for the sake of a wedding
the wife swap i saw was a rich asian man married to a blonde woman and the other family was african american
lickery - you are so right - bridezilla is frightening -funny - as well -
no this guy was Irish, he was quite nice but his wife was a cleaning freak, 10 hours cleaning each day then a blitz once a week, everything sparkled, she can come to my house and clean it anytime, the woman from the other housejust lazed about all day and her husband ran around after her because he didn't work, when they swapped the posh woman got him a job straight away, snigger snigger
scatty quote:the woman from the other housejust lazed about all day:end quote.... that's me, for sure...
dust - no that's part of the decor
we don't get bridezilla over here, we get the ones where the couples go to a desert island to see if they were meant for each other, then had hunky men thrown at the woman and models thrown at the men to see if they would stay faithful, like hell they would
bridezilla has been on over here, scatty. late night on ITV. I saw it once..... *shudders*.....never again...
ren, i keep telling my hubby that but he doesn't believe me
scatty - never heard of that one
babbler, do you remember what channel, i will have to keep an eye out for it,
im off to bed, befor my painkillers wear out, night every one, talk tomorrow, keep me posted on goss
Babs, babble killed my computer and I had to restart. Did i mention that I fell asleep to the chiller cabinet last night/this morning? How do you play tracks by an artist on Last.fm? I haven't done that yet
nite scatty. late night ITV by the way. wasn't on this week.
ok - sactty - you and babbler are going to really shudder - on the women's channel - there was a show " the american princess" - the candidates (really weird people) came to your country to become a "real american princess" - talk about pure shlock - whoever thought of that was meshuga - 4 sure
take about wife swap... michael douglas swapped dianne for catherine zeta jones... that would have cost him a hell of alot! And harrison ford... melissa swap for calista annorexia... half his royalties et al!
Good Night scatty -- (*gentle hug*)
yes, yoink, you told me you fell asleep to the chiller cabinet last night, and I have you a hug : ) you enter the name of the artist in the search thingy and go to their page. most artists only have a preview, but LSD have a little playlist, you have to scroll down a little to see it.....
nite scatty - sweet dreams - as roy is singing
ren..... I am soooooo glad I haven't seen that show. ick!
also, yoink, you know when you're listening to their radio and you have a little panel come up on your screen? you can click on artists on that too, and it takes you to their page. found it by accident! : )
aarrrggghhh! (accidentally flipped to the country music channel!)
got it Babs. i will give them a play when my current cd runs out, going back to the old crooners again!
I love country music... but only the good sort. (yes, there is a good sort!)
good sort Keith Urban?
Reality TV is just scary in general, but it is never going to go away because no matter how bizarre the premise, someone is going to want to watch the trainwreck out of morbid curiosity And, more importantly, it costs very little to produse due to the fact that you don't have to pay an actor's salary
don't know Keith Urban. I like the old stuff. I really like Gillian Welch of today's crowd.
I didn't know that Babs, will try to remember to check it out sometime. Nice to hear you realise that there is good country music as well as bad, ever heard Laura Cantrell or Neko Case?
(I think that's her name)
Yes it is Babs, and I like her too
bab... ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Love it!
Babbler -- some one who understands! there is good country and then there is cookie cutter country
Laura Cantrell - yes (though can't remember what) Neko Case - no
wolfie - you are so right...
grey.... what is 'cookie cutter country'??
I've got a Woodie Guthrie CD. I found it quite hard going when I played it. I must dig it out and try it again. U2's Joshua Tree was purely influenced by country.
lickety -- my own term for modern singers who try to get by in the country genre by trying to repeat what has already been done with out making it their own
i love rock a billy (like gene vincent, collins kids ) old cowboy songs - like red river valley. on rfd tv they show pop goes the country and porter wagonner
Allison Krause is one of my faves - angelic voice ..
k d lang started off singing country. one of her albums is an absolute favourite of mine, I just adore it. It's very country. It's called Shadowland.
It can also be used to describe some of the earlier formulaic country out there which put the truth into the old joke -- "What happens when you play a country album backwards?" "You get your dog back, you get your car back, you gat your girl back"
Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris.......... *drifts away*
keith urban... aussie/kiwi cross breed engaged to Nicole Kidman (allegedly) and a country singer with an ill reputed past of drugs/alcohol etc... but really cute and looks very femine
have you ever listened to sid straw? she played the math teacher in pete & pete
GW - what you trying to do? make me smile? not gonna *crosses arms*
My favourite country/country rlated music is: Laura cantrell, the Handsome Family, Neko Case, Bonnie Prince Billy/Will Oldham/Palace, the anamoanon and of course Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash... have you heard him sing that Nirvana song? Breathed a different life into it.
not even a little, Babbler? I see the smile peeking out there.... C'mon... let it out and I'll give you another hug ;)
well..... Austrailan Country Music is... well.... scary!!
no *pouts and sulks*
will the circle be unbroken - cash & carter
"There was a red back (spider) on the toilet seat when I went out last night'.... whatever!!
Also when playing your country music backwards... You get out of prison your dog comes back to life
lickety was that a song ....or for real???
I think country music is just folk music..... and I love that too.
Johnny Cash is a country god and though many may not realise it, in many ways can also be described as perhaps the original goth (at least that's what some of my more musically educated friends say)
Renfield, nice! My two favourites are his 2 prison albums, San Quentin and the best one: Folsom prison
ren.... for real!! YES!
difox - that is funny as well
yikes, lickety! GW - now you mention it, Johnny Cash is a bit goth..
i like the train songs too
'Red Back on the Toilet Seat' is a song from Austrailan Country Music!!! Very sad and not good!!
goth is good -
I love goth.
One . .lousy . . word . . . bi6/27 . . . .
tor - you know three cornered hats? tri co4? make it a two cornered hat.....
Babbler - folk and country are actually two very distinct genre's so that could explain why the Woody Guthrie was hard for you to get into
bi + what you eat that's on a cobb
ahaaa, now that makes sense, GW. I'm going to give Woody another try as I know he has influenced so much of what I love.
I saw that right when you posted . . Thanks, Babb-a-lab! You're a luv, Luv!
let's go riding in the car car - woody sang to the depression era how about bob wills
there was a fantastic doc series on BBC2 a couple of years ago, about the history of country music. they mentioned a family who kind of started it all. I really like them. Very famous, but I can't recall their name.
Carter family?
Babbler - he is also the father of Arlo Guthrie, who is one of my favorite folk singers Pete Seeger too :)
y/w tor. *not smiling* : /
Fave folk artists: Sufjan Stevens, Joanna Newsom, Devendra banhart (who has the best name ever)
yes! the Carter Family
Why not??
june carter cash tom paxton ?
Devendra is well funny, Yoink! He was on Jools Holland's show once, did you see? Made me laugh. Don't know the other two names you mention....
cos I'm under a cloud, tor.... and it's gonna start raining...
hey, just got back from christmas eve.
Of course, there is lots of music out there that I lvoe but I couldn't tell you who they are or the names of the songs because I am very bad with that sort of info -- I only can remember the names of the artists whose albums/CDs I owned at one time or another :D
I know what you mean, GW. There are lots of names I'd love to mention right now, but I just can't remember them.
you back from the future, evan?
me too
Babs, I didn't see that, i rarely see Jools' show as i tend to be out on sat nights. They are both worth checking out, Joanna Newsom is a solo singer songwriter who maninly plays harp. I saw her live in Hay-on-Wye last year and she was amazing. Sufjan Stevens is a multi-instrumentalist and has written 2 amazing albums based on states of the US, Michigan and Illinois. He is one of my current favourites
evan did you go to a prty?
has Sufjan had a CD come out recently? I think I saw a top review of it.
indeed ren i did. came back with a box full of christmas socks too...score!
I love the harp. I'd like Joanna Newsom.
Yes, his Illinois album was a recent release, it is fairly stunning imo
real socks? like the kind that keep your feet warm?
the sunday times gave it 4 or 5 stars (out of 5). I hadn't heard of him. I'll listen out. Send me a mail on Last with these names on, pls? Then I'll remember them tomorrow!
speaking of harp - where are you harpjane?
Hi all! Just got back from a LONG day of birthday get-together, dance recital and Holiday Party. SO I'm very late at getting to this puzzle. Any help on the last four ba's? 5/14, 6/30, 6/24 and 6/30? Totallly stumped here.
Clouds and rain only temporarily obscure our vision of the sun. They don't destroy it. The sun will shine through eventually.
indeed, even a pair with individual tosies! you all have a lovely night. i have a date with my pillow.
thank you, tor, I know. looking forward to. but i need to walk under the clouds or else I'll have a bigger storm on my hands....
nonny - you need to find ba5: A British nobleman of the lowest rank. then play around with endings for the others.
ba 5 = titled person ba 6/24 = plural of titled person 2nd ba 6/= titled person's possession
1st ba 6/30 = titled person w/ a stanGe consonent on the end
nite evan - i love the individual tosies
Aww, a song I love has come on, "Wichita Lineman" by Glen Campbell
babbler - i still missed what the brandy is tomorrow - is it like the liquid or brandy jack or what we think brandy is like Brandy - you're a fine girl
Hey guys, help with the 1st bo5/14? Yoink - haven't heard that one in ages!
Thanx all. Got all but the last 6/30. Still working on it. Then on to finding the last 10.....
If you know your path, it doesn't matter whether you walk it in the rain or in the sun. You will arrive at the same point. Holy crap! I'm a philosophical sonofa***** tonight!
bo + ni 4 /4- the n
You're talking my lingo, Tor! you're a lovely man. thank you
Thanks ren, and now I am done!!
Babs, reminder message sent
torg - i thought you said you were a sonata - i quite agree on the sonata philosophy
is there such a think as a brandy jack, ren? I havent heard of it. Cybernan suggested brandy for tomorrow's theme. I've already seen Sherry's icon - it's a barrel of brandy. I've done a pic of a bottle.
way to go wolfie!
congrats, GW!
Good evening everyone. Just getting back to the puzzle after a long day and am missing 6. Alms for the addled anyone? ba 6/ 30- not the royalty ending in y gn 5/ 14 gn 6/ 24 ni 5/ 14 ni 6/ 24 ra 4/ 5-not the monetary unit
thanks, Yoink. hasnt' appeared yet.... I get a little pop up when emails arrive... : )
i thought brandy jack was a sailor's term
Don't know if I'm a sonata . . A fugue or scherzo maybe . .
Do you have it set up to e-mail you when you get a message on last? I haven't done that as I never get any
ra 4/5 - like someone who is ra* + s - sounds like mad
Found the ra!
Thanks renfield!
it's set up to my MSN hotmail, Yoink, so I get an email over there as well (hence the pop up). I just replied with my yahoo email address.
ba 6.30 = ba 5/14 + stranGe consonent on the end
got the gn's too- finally occured to me that the gn4 might have an alternate spelling and plural. DUH
.. but having said that, i didn't get a pop up just now..... dunno what I'm doing.... : /
gw - you should do the gn clues
That's the ba 6/30 I already have. It seems there's another one, right?
(*Grrowrrr*)
ni's is a type of battery then plural ni^^^ - again sounds like mad
2nd ba 6/30 - is the same 5/14 + the sometimes * vowel
Got it and added you Babs :)
great wolfie - i could hear that one - wish scatty was here to hear it!
morning everyone, just i to finish. in a hurry to start work, so i need help. the first bo5/18 (got the welsh lads)?
renfield, you were right the first time - it was the one with the strange consonant I didn't have - but now I do. Now, if I can just figure out the ni battery I'll be done!
The batteries are nickel/cadmium.
TADA!!!Thanks to you renfield - I can now go to sleep.
ok eva - i guess i'm a really goos sleeping pill - or just a pill?
time for me to go now, too. nite all! ((( hugs to all ))) ((Yoinkxxx))
wolfie - pbs is suppose to be showing a gratfeul dead movie - but roy's still on ????
Not a pill at all! And now of course I'm wide awake- and since it's 11:46 here and I tend to wake at 4am, things don't look so good. Anyone know some good lullabyes?
Bye bye Babbler... (((HUG))))
nir babbler - see you tomorrow - 8)
Bit of an early night for you Babs! ((((xx)))) Sleep well
just finished, all by my lonesome. Sorry can't stop to chat long today, can just spare 5 mins if anyone needs any clues, then have to go.
good night all.
nite eve sorry ish - i was looking for your word - have a good day at work
Babbler -- Good Night (*BIG HUG*) And remember, without the clouds the sunshine becomes mundane very quickly :)
G'Nite Eva
G'nite woulf
I got that, GW. It's true. There's no richness without the range. Thank you : )
Good night Johnboy
ren -- remember, begathons always screw up timing of the programs in relation to what the guide thinks
kids are coming home from xmas party (santa arrived in a helicopter!!) so better go make the dinner!!
you too, Yoink, (go to bed!) ; )
gw - i know - it's just so ....well you know out of sync w/ my life -
ren - here have a (*Hug*) and soon the badness will go away of course when the begging is over so will most of the cooler programs :D
Yeah, I will, at some point
LOL, Yoink -- sounds like my thoughts the past week ;)
Sad thing is i have pretty much given up on babbling by this point (reaching 5am here) and am just chatting on here and elsewhere and avoiding bed
Chat is good..
Yoink -- that is usually what I end up doing about half the time -- the grid becomes secondary to the chat
chat is very good, torgone :)
finally back to finish my last five words... the little b's
Hi Blaze!
i do that sometimes yoink - it's impossible for me to carry on conversations during the work day - my mom has dementia and my dad is hard of hearing - so all of you babblers have become my release 8)
hey gw how is the family ?? oh and my neice made it safely... she is in Lanceister...
ren we are glad to be here for you
Babble chat is one of those little things that can be fun sometimes, or a sledgehammer that bashes my errant sanity back into alignment other times.
Blaze - we're doing good -- baby got to make her first snowmen yesterday :) Glad to here she got in safely -- the storm moved through very quickly -- when I turned in a t 4am it had just started and when I looked out the window at 10am the sun had been shining for an hour or so already
thanks blaze - - didn't mean to sound heavy - just a note of appreciation - i do have a fun life
ren - sorry to hear about the home sitch, but glad to be of help!
ren I am raising a grand daughter with mental challenges and BAbble has been a great stress release for me...
torg - you are right - i try to steer away from the tense moments - you've got to stay happy -
thanks all - my folks are very happy people - my mom grows roses and my dad bakes cookies and reads to my mom - she talks all the time and he just smiles and turns off his hearing aid LOL - they are really cute
sounds like a perfect couple....
Good evening need a clue onca5/12 the first one
Lopoks like we all have our home concerns that make Babble a blessed haven in a world of chaos and stress -- another common link between us all :) I think this calls for a ((((**GROUP HUG**))))
(((((GROUP HUG)))))
yes it does and a clue for the bo 6/27 the first one... please ((((( hugs)))))
ren - Reminds me of when my Mom was slipping into Alzheimer's and my Dad was trying to take care of her by himself.
Soz Ren, in and out here. I'm glad if we can provide some light relief from life, it is something which I know that I myself get out of chatting with people here on babble
Marc - ca5/12 - the word can in King Arthur Speak
got that one.... thanks
bo 6/27 = bo* voyage + high card - last vowel then add 3rd voel
tee da at last.... thank you....
torg - you've got it - besides the cancer she has this dementia - but she mades us laugh all of the time - she got a perm and looks like harpo right now -
ok so have ya'll thought about a brandy?one of my grandfather's made strawberry brandy and an uncle made apricot brandy - not for sale -
It was kind of good when her child-like, impish nature started to come back out. The definition of bittersweet for me . . .
ren -- what's this about a brandy? was there a thread earlier that I missed? I admit, I usually don't scan through the log for the day cos I typically don't have time to do through the entire days chat :)
gw - i don't know about the thread - i caught the hint of brandy for sunday. I fond a brandy rose
Ah -- as an icon theme, hmmm... I'll have to see what I can come up with
Bread is the Sunday ic4 theme? Then, I must go change!
GrewWoulf used a woooooord, GreyWoulf used a woooord..
torg - you're right about the bittersweet - my husband and i driver her around town and we sing show tunes - by the way yoink - she knew frankie - she said he was always very nice to her - he told her she had the bluest eyes he had ever seen - besides his own....
harp - is it bread or brandy? to many b words1
ren-a parent with dementia? you're in for a wild, wonderful ride! Don't lose your sense of humor, even when they get their eyeliner pencil mixed up with the laundry pen..... (been there, done that!) Bless your heart.
Yes I did -- chalk it up to having taken a hydrocodone earlier cos I antagonised my herniated disc putting up Xmas lights
I checked Babbler's profile several hours ago and it was bread. Has it changed? Brandy would be a fine theme, too. Let me slip into the profile and check.
ok - brandy on sunday bread on monday
Do they have Wiccan lights?
Renfield, from stuff I have read, knowing Frankie could be a good thing or a bad thing. Being on his good side certainly wasn't bad!
owwwwooooch wolfie - walk arounds - don;t stay seated to long
lights, like most things, have no particular association other what the viewer applies to them. So the answer to your question, harpjane, is yes ;D
my mom has never met a stranger - everyone loves her -she is kind and sweet and pretty - even w/ her harpo hair - so it was a good meeting - she stayed an innocent
I try ren, but I spend the whole day at work on my feet, so I have a tendency to want to just settle once I get home. Especially after Kristianna has gone to sleep since she has no concept of 'Daddy doesn't want to play cos he's tired' :D
well my icon is ready where is the new grid ??
sorry - forgot about play time- my neices think i'm 6 & 4 - and that i never need to work when they are around
Awww... It's a Breaddy Bear!
gw -- have you tried a chiropractor ?
Renfield, that reminds me of an expression my mum always used to use with us kids: "A stranger is just a friend you haven't met"
yoink - i need to remember that expression - thanks -
Blaze - the real problem I have is that, like so many of my fellow Americans, I have absolutely no money to go to any type of doctor. I still haven't found a 2nd job and my monthly expenses are just barely met each month woth no room for anything else. :(
Brandy it is. Bread is Monday's buddy theme.
Blaze used a woooooord, Blaze used a wooooord
gw - do you mind me asking what field you are in?
I need some help on my last 4: ca 5/16 ( i have the wooden house and the carnival) or 5/14 to4/4 (i have the sound of a whistle, the breakfast minus a vowel, and when you carry a bag) to5/14 thank you so much
ren - I work for Lenscrafter's as a Lab Tech -- I make glasses -- I am trying to find something else to get out of the retail market but am having difficulty because I don't seem to have any of the skills that most places are looking for these days. (I have never been good at fudging info in my favor to look better than I am) I feel it is the curse of an unfocussed life
hello everyone... my sister and i are playing together tonite..in the same room... should be able to finish for the first time in 13 months
Hi Christa!
toniv- to4/4 I'm getting around to --.
can anyone help with TO 5/16?
gw - i understand - i read 100's of resumes each month - and i'm a pro at interviewing - i know some recruiters on the east coast in the scientific arena
Hi Christa and sista :D
mas - You got married when you were 5??
to5/16 -- a lackey is also know as a to***
It feels like it sometimes but I was 20.
tonyv ca5--a substitute for chocolate
Read your bio ..
tonyv on to4, take the breakfast minus a letter and reverse the last two letters
or 5/14, think ape
thanks, ren -- science is a reading hobby with me -- it fascinates me, but I never had the discipline to properly attend classes in college -- long story behind that, will not go into that here -- but that is the real reason why I have been a retail slave for the past 17 years
or 5--take a fruit and leave off the last letter
Can I please have a clue of bo 8 please.........
bo8 - bo4/6 + ci4/5
bo 8- "A mineral of a white or gray color occurring massive and in isometric crystals; in composition it is a magnesium borate with magnesium chloride."
gw - nothing wrong w/ retail - without retail where would the shop til you drop be?
Thanks Torgone. I only wish I was 35 again, must have been wishful thinking.
i need the last ca5, i've got the candy, wooden house, carnival, antonym of can, and the two words that start with an automobile. can someone please help me
Thank you both so very.......very.....much
true, ren -- however, the retail companies are getting much more greedy these days -- they're cutting staff while demanding more productivity and not giving any rewards for higher work performance. Therby making it impossible for a loyal employee to support his family.
Whatever. Just seemed kind of odd - 35 years old, married 30 years? Not an issue. That's just me. You'll get to know me if you hang around a bit . .
There are three ca 5's that start with automobile.
gw - i know - it hurts....
tonyv do you have the ca*** = tin ca* + abbre for street
yes
