Ermm I know I'm back but this looks like a different puzzle or am I just going mad!
Am I only one here?
I don't know what just happened. Apparently the server folks took the server down again, and in doing so, erased everything that happened in the brief period the site was up about an hour ago. Ugh.
l7/36 r7/36
Hiya Doc... think Im the only one here....lol
This is a different game isn't it?
It is a different puzzle. You're not going mad. ;)
Thank god for that....lol
so is this the correct one for 1/6?
No the other one was but its lost in cyber space....
What happened?
I dunno... one minute I was here doing quite well then poofffffffffff gone and another puzzle appears!
Awww... I had written a whole bunch of words for the other one. I had found both 8's too! :o(
So will the old one be put back up, or is this the official puzzle for today?
DAre we start? -- at times, I'm still having problems with freezing when I try to post a message
r10/91
I think this is the one... old one got erased
Too bad -- like Hugs I was enjoying the previous one -- this one is awfully vowelly.
Morning If you click on View yesterday's puzzle at the top of the page you will be able to complete it. Dr_G has left it open cos of the problems.

Morning, FMitch. I already completed that one -- there was another up briefly that was meant for today but it's gone now, so that's what we're referring to.
Thanks, brandyjack. We don't pay you nearly enough :)
Morning Jack....
ahhh! that'll teach me to oversleep lol
h7/40 and t7/36
Mornin Debs, melissa....
B-jack -- thank you!
Don't know about the rest of you, but I was really into that other puzzle with all the 7's!
....so does that mean if we just stick around a while we might see a puzzle we like even better than this one? :) Woof all.
Just checked! -- more words, more 7's!
(abashedly goes off to hunt non-Xmas icon)
Hello and hugs to everyone -- just stopped by to see if the site was back up yet before turning in -- and found the 10 first thing -- will be back later to find more
L8/55
So the next question is -- does the loss of yesterday's grid mean that it has no impact on our ratings as well?
Yeah, I need to know that too. I can hardly sleep at night wondering about my rating. :))))))
Good question, GreyWoulf -- but I doubt it, given that it was zapped clean gone. I guess Dr. God can clarify.
Yesterdays grid is not lost, in fact it is still open to be completeed until noon. It was the first grid for today that was lost. It is replaced by this one.
And I must say I'm impressed by all you folks finding the biggies straight out the gate -- my mind is still looking for lovely q words :)
Holy cow, so I really could be doing two grids at once? Woo hoo!
But I already entered a bunch of words on the one that got lost. Bummer.
LOL, Griff :D It's just a question -- I would forget about the ratings if there wasn't the big blue star saying 'View Player Ratings' at the top of the page
hey BrandyJack- did you do a hardware upgrade? Well done bye the way - very fast.
E7/32
Um, melissa, perhaps you should look at the stats first. According to mine, there are none in this grid..... That's the old grid :P
I know - in my case it should say "View How Far You've Fallen Because You Keep Skipping Out On Grids"
Oh! Thanks, brandyjack -- I think you just cleared up a bunch of confusion for many of us!
oops BrandyJack <> Dr god
No, i'm not him..... I just post meaningless stats to play with peoples minds....
Doc was here... think he's gone to a dark padded room to lay down...
brandyjack, that's what I meant -- my brain is still in the old puzzle! Which I'll shut up about now, since it's only confusing people who didn't see it for the brief time it was up.
OK -- time for me to go! My neighbor will be fixing my computer this weekend, so I don't know if I will be around much -- so (*Hugs for everyone*) and see you later!
bye-bye gw!
Hi and bye GW... sleep well *hugs*
this thing is waaaaaay slow.
gosh, I love it when you look at the grid for the first word, and the tenner just says "here, take me"....
p7/36
Dang, griffs, this is getting embarrassing -- I see a lot of biggies but no 10! I'll keep hunting...
p8/60
I was just about to post that Debs :o)
Ah, found it! Whew.
the 10 letter is re............= moving to a different place
Great minds Hugs :) h8/55
*yawn* Not sure if it's too little sleep or too many beers (hey I only had two) but I'm whipped and will knock this one out in the morning. 'Night!!!
Good night, Griffums! Sleep well.

the last few grids have lulled us into a false sense of competency.

Angelsong - I just e-mailed a friend tonight on how I thought I was improving with the Babble grids. Boy, this one has really made me rethink that statement!

Time for breakfast......hasta luego folks...
just finished watching Father Ted... still weeping!!
c8/55 builds from c5/12
Co8 hint here in case anyone needs it. I had a devil of a time finding the co5 the co8 builds from. It'll be easier for Aussies than Americans. The co 5 has doubled vowels, and the 8 has the gerund ending.
The co 5/12 is a kind of call for attention.
Oh, and sorry if I was unclear -- by doubled vowels for the co 5/12 I meant 2 sets of doubled vowels. The the co 8 builds from there.
Does anyone have a clue for the he8/55, by any chance?
I guess that's a no...
I guess so, Yoink. Either that, or I've confused everyone so much with my co8 clue that they've given up the ghost entirely.
he8/44 no def. take yr he4/5 that sounds like a greeting, add a consonant and then a short word - if someone asked you how old you are, they could also ask your a**.
He 8 - the state/condition of being a serf. Build on he 5/12
even better clue esp as I didn't have the he5
Ah! I'd been trying to add ing to that he5 instead; thank you so much Ho Hum and Sweet Tooth!
<-----needs a clue for ne5/12 plez~~~
ne 5/12 = ne plus the opposite of bottom. Quiet in 'ere innit?
<quiet in here innit> that was the echo.
Dachef, thank you sooooo much.. yes it is quiet right now
*yawn* mornin all.
*walks in coffee in one hand rubbing eyes with other* GOOD MORINING* Why don't ya come and see me sometime????? Anyone reconige my icon??????
Today is movie day right? for movieman
faeriekae 'mornin .... gotta be Mae
Frances - you are soooooo right. Faerie Dust for you for being the big winner
I gotta say Mae had some huge boobs...
faeriekae Thank you atishooooooooo bless me. All that dust!
Bless you Frances. Your not supose to snort or inhale it just *^_^*
Just, just, dance around in it and let work its magic
While I'm at it I think I'll throw some on the grid I could use a couple more letters like a "S" and a "D"
faeriekae Snort! What does snort mean /* *\
Evanadine - good morning *throws faerie dust at Evan to help the waking up process*
Frances - to inhale through nostrals.....lol....
faeriekae But what I want to know is, does it stop your ribs aching from laughter?
Oh no.....You will be laughing for the better part of the day with this dust. LOL
faeriekae Oh goodeeeeeeeeeeeeee
So now...*whispers to Frances* alittle more for you and alittle more for me...tee hee hee don't tell anyone.
faeriekae My lips are sealed.......or does this dust do other strange things?
You will soon find out Frances. I makes you much smarter and the words just JUMP right out at you.
faeriekae I'm finding the long words but your magic dust seems to be hiding the small ones!
need to go ge started on taking down bathroom wallpaper. Wish I could throw faerie dust on it and make it all fall to the floor...and then clean itself up and then magical have it all painted.....No such luck though. bbl
Morning everyone! Anyone have a clue for the re10?
Frances - just the opposite for me.....all small words no long words. Gotta go BBL good luck
faeriekae 'Bye
re 10 -- re + moving to another place
Thanks ARB! I really dislike re's! :)
But re's with ing at the end are the really long words!
Greetings, everybody!!!!!
Thanks goodness I bought a new vacumn yesterday, all this dust about.......Movieman...you like?? (myicon, not dust or vacumn!!)
myicon....look like on of those words that crop up in Babble that is never used on Earth
Tbear - it's a pretty good icon....Bette Midler isn't it....?
You betcha...my ex step father says I remind him of her....which I took as complete compliment and not with the sarcarsm he intended.....Lol My brother would completely approve of your icon...
Okay, refresh. I changed icons for you movieman!
jen - I can't quite make out who your icon is supposed to be.....could you enlighten me please...?
Robert Redford. Although I may switch throughout the day, I wanted to start with him.
any clues for ac6/21?
oh, jen, be still my heart!!!
ac 6/21 - variation of vinegar type acid
Jen - oh yes, it's Ol' Rob, but I thought today was supposed to be an 80s movie day....?
That's why I chose RoboCop.....
Ooh, I didn't know we were getting specific about the decade. Okay, I'll look for one of him from Out of Africa... one of my favs.
Good idea, jen.......
OOOO Kevin Costner or Ryan O'Neil hahahahaa big joke from yesterday!!!
Where do you find the daily themes?
Okay, finally found one of hime from the movie. Refresh if you wish to see.
granadan....babbler usually has a list of them, so you could look back through the posts until you find one by babbler, or you could look for her name in the rankings, and click on her gender icon....
Thanks movieman!
yw, granadan....
having a hard time with the A words, espec. ac ones. only have ac5/12 - moviestar, saw the hint for vinegar but can't figure out the spelling
Being thick here...any clue as to the last three letters of the ac6/21 acid variation please
touche periwinkle
Use the British version of can for the ac6/21
peri - another a word is what movie stars do.....(ac6/27)......
Thanks Haz....can I vacumn for you with my new HENRY.....trying to bring it up so as I feel guilty enough to actually vacumn now that I have no excuses....Babbling does take over...wish i could be strong like Joelgee....HHmmmm
thanks movieman, found it, Haz, not sure of the British word for can, tried one but it didn't work
peri nit...the other way
ac - first three letters - unreturnable tennis serve, next three letters - comic-book Belgian detective
tbear, that's what I thought, will work on looking for it again
Haz so you were an 80s movie icon? You must have been a baby...
I can't keep up with all this changing of icons! It's hard enough trying to do this grid.....
excellent clue Haz. tvm
hi kids!
Haz, love your clue, but still can't get it. don't play tennis, and do not know the detective you are referring to :(
Hi, EasternBlue
so very pleased to see my favourite sentence end h4/6
hi peri...it's been awhile! happy new year!
morning everyone! :)
Try playing card, plus metal alloy
ac6 = jack, queen, king, a** plus a type of metal (3 letters)
like....i go to supper last nite and the site goes down.... hi all!!! 8) going to work now!!
Peri ac3......meaning top thing and nit backwards
Haz, Bingo, finally found it with the playing card clue thanks

Good- glad you finally got there!
Hi all :)
Oh Missyme such an attractive look for you.....which facial cream do you use honey?
clues for the first ac5/12 and ac5/16 would be great
Hello Bett :) I accidentally touched my face with my finger, (it lights up, you know), and well, I sorta scorched myself.
just found the ac5/16, an ing word
Mornin all
ac 5/12 - your playing card plus shortened version of thanks ac5/16 -continuous present tense of serving unreturnable shots
Missy...your finger lights up? does it need batteries?
Morning toesock....
Toes! G'mornin'! Hi MissyMe...efor...
ac5/16 present tense of the first three letters of the word just above it :)
pitot is a word....why isn't it allowed?
so is "poot", gobraves, but that isn't allowed either. :)
ac4/10 am I blind?
Angel We don't have bunnies with drums where I come from...we have to make do with ackracktor worms rubbing two sticks together to create energy...it's the reason we came to your lovely, energetic planet. BUNNIES :) Yay!
LOL, Missy
Hello Eastern :)
((((((((Hugs for all)))))))))
clues for ag7/40? I found ag7/36
Hello Toesock *returns hugs*
Peri...there's an ac4/5 but 5/10??? not possible
ooooh any clues on the 10 letter word? :)
ac4/10 Peri I can't see a 4/10 word...
Oops, meant ac4/5
TSM....go live somewhere else re 10
add shortened version of thanks peri
TSM that was a bit harsh for a clue....sorry love
tbear, thanks, I know that word, must be tired, at least that is my excuse. finding this puzzle difficult. will take a break and come back later.
ag7/40 Related on or descended from the father's or male side, (drop the "e" and add an "ic"ky ending to it)
ROFL!!! too funny
why can't "poot" be a word!?
Peri ac4/5 this was what thespians do on stage. They ac* out their part. Now add a vowel at the end
Angelsong - do you have a clue for the ag7/36?
Missy us gorgeous gals gotta stick together,do you think that enlightened finger could give me a winter suntan if you didn't get too close......
I rock.....just got the ag8......I rock
I've been cruising the beaches doing that very thing, (for a small fee), but I'll give you a treatment for free. :) Fame has it's perks...
ag7/36: a washing machine might do this change the e to another vowel
I rock but i can't count....make that a seven
tbear, how 'bout giving the rest of us a clue for the ag8 then.......?
Thanks, Angelsong, stumbled all around it.
Missy....let me be your embassador IT WORKED...refresh and see the new me...not only in colour but slimmer....now that's what I call a magic finger....gimme gimme gimme
Toesock...I believe poot is a word...Didn't it show up in one of Shakespear's plays? "Poot Yorick...I knew him well..."
ok, that was weird.. i logged out to change my icon (seems like an 80's movie theme today?). i never saw it change my other postings to the new icon before... oh well! long live the 80s anyway!! :)
Movieman...and now for the non-existent ag8, as before then any letter of your choice....haha..(oops, shopuldn't be laughing like h4 today)
yes, tbear, had a feeling you made a boo-boo....
!!! tbear It's never worked that well before! You are lovely. Yes, I would love to have you represent me :)
movieman i did confess at 8.55...math never one of my better subjects..
Missy aren't I....I want whatever Bette's on these days...oooo oh yes it's your finger....hmmmm is this getting a little outta hand...shall I go do some vacumning...getting a little over excitabubble....
Have hyacinths on my table...think the aroma is getting to me....or the fun fun spirit of my grandmother who loved them...
clue for at6/24: You need this to successfully create a college term paper.
first ag7 is a word like irritated, excited, or like what a washing machine does to get clothes clean...it makes this type of movement. Change the last letter to a different vowel. second ag7 Related to or descended from the father's or male side, (drop the "e" and add an "ic"ky ending to it)
tbear ewww vacuuming...ewww What a lovely sentiment that those flowers remind you of your mom :)
That'll be my Grandmom Missy...she died beautifully two years ago,but still lives very much in this house and my heart. Complete doll, who laughed thru all adversity and made our childhood magical. bet she's got the whole crowd up there ROFLing...
Good morning all.
Girls home in 42 mins...gotta look like I've done half a day cleaning..otherwise can't justify asking them to do their bedrooms...see you lovelies later
afternoon all
Bye tbear :)
gotta run too...bye all!
Hi bubbles and bunny :) Bye Eastern :)
ci5/12 clues? I'm going cross-eyed
ci5/12 this is the person that actually does the word above it which means to point out a specific detail or object
hi missy, gotta go, typing calls
k bubbles :) cya soon
Missy, I was reading your profile, the bauldur's Gate Icewind Dale game, is it a spin off from the Salvatore book? I just recently started reading him and enjoy him quite a bit. It'd be nice to find a game that goes with the story...
Good morning!
Hi guys! : )
Morning. I'm stumped on the ge 7/36, anyone?
Sorry bunny, just started and only have a handful of words (which do not include a ge7!) : /
I am missing a theme day? All the movies...
woohooo! found the 10 all my own *suitably proud* LOL
gj atal!
WTG Ata !!!
ge7, one who creates or produces.
I know it was an easy one, but hey - thats still good for me at the moment!
Woo hoo, got the g!
er6 anyone?
nevermind.
er6....sexy??
Sexy, Jen! (That's a clue for the er6, not a statement! LOL.)
sexy like young Redford or Mel Gibson at any age? ;)
Well, I certainly find Mel er6... : )
or a tahitian beauty
Re the e word - change the 2nd letter for the highest scoring tile on the board and you will get another 6 & 7 combo
g'morning everyone! what's the theme today?
hi folks :) HotTimale - the theme is 80's movies - your icon will do just fine ;)
ok, co 8/55 has got to be THE funniest word ever to appear in babble
Hi sherb : )
lol sherb
hi lola :) hi hurshy - don't tempt me with the C's... I'm just starting on the T's...
Lola....we have second row seats for the Jane Sibury concert.....Ow about dat guys and gals....
that's still leftover from 3 days ago
I know... it works...
good morning, everyone. We had a false start last night, so I'm way behind with 120 words still to go.
this conversation would look less strange if I wasn't represented by a picture of Harrison Ford today...
I just can't seem to make and lead way today, stuck in moron mode...
Hi Cybernan...et al....
ok, i'm all themed up - refresh!
morning cybernan... don't worry, I still have 218 to go...

tbear is bette middler!
Hurshy, I love your icon!! Definitely my fav movie of all time!
mine too!!!!
Bette Midler? ...looks more like Jessica Lange... I definitely need new glasses...
Hurshy, sorry, can't see it well. Maybe I need glasses too, what is it?
Good morning all and Happy Epiphany! Maybe one of these days my icon will actually match the theme...of course that would mean my 16 year old would have to show me how to do it... :)
mine's the princess bride
Of course...Lola...we gunna have fun that nite girl..we'll go clubbing after....ooo and dinner...I'll start saving (bottle tops) Sherb it's Bette Midlers new slimline look...isn't she faberoo. Cheating a bit but have an 80s icon which I've been using on and off...my ex step-father said I remind him of her....which I love,I think!!

oooh, good one, my girl's love that movie
Hi norad : ) tbear, you bet we are! ; )
Hurshy, you've intrigued me... clues for the co 8? ...I can only get co 6...
Okay, I have moved on from Out of Africa to my idol of middle school years, this pic from Young Guns. Refresh please!
tbear - I'd be very happy to be compared with Bette... :)
DONE...anyone need a clue???
co 8 builds ridiculously off the previous co 5/12, a cockney british expression of wonder
hurshy, co8/55 The funniest word in babble, do you have a clue?
mary...co8/55...5 vowels in a row
yeah, o'chita, i need both ga 6's
Thanks, hurshy, got it, it is THE dumbest ever.
Sherb...I love her too but he's so sarcastic (ic ending word not in todays puzzle) you never know where he's coming from....'Stella' was one he never failed to mention once I'd had my first girl and he's gone on from there....She fab and loud and funny and soft and overemotional and everything,a rounded person...
ga6...2nd one is the act of ga4.4...the 1st ga6...just change the middle consonant
ty
Anyone have the he 8/55? Feel like I'm looking right at it but can't see it.
Hurshy, sometimes it takes me awhile...Thx, it is funny...
bunny try he4 greeting minus one consonant PLUS the 3 letter word that has the price on and a vowel
he8...take the he5/12 just ahead of it and add the number of years you have been alive
Great clue! Thanks a million (apparently I haven't been looking right at it!).
both le's
oh, monkeytyped the double vowelled one
and the other one - there is no surer way to get words than to ask for clues for them!
Hurshy, there's no def for the other one but if you google a Hungarian composer of the opera, "the merry widow", take his name and take out the "a"
Hi all

Hi all -- baby let me get back to the grid so I finished yesterday with 60 to go! not bad for a little over an hour total grid time :) See you later, MAMA! (*HUG*)
Hi Woulfie...long time no see ; )
EB -- couldn't have done it without you (*hug*) ;D
Bye Sherb :) Hi Woulf :)
glad I could help!
I played for a bit last night, and now it seems that all my words disappeared. Anyone else have that happen?
Hey Yoink!
I made the mistake of printing the list... now I want to start it......
joey - if you refresh, it will sometimes appear...(f5)
also, it is a different grid? am i nuts?
joey - yesterday's grid was held open for a while til noon today (CST) - maybe you were on yesterday's.
joey -- apparently there was a server glitch after the flip and the first new one for today was eaten by the minions of the derver gods :)
Evening All : ) Has the server settled down now??
Hi Anj - seems like it!!!
Joey, yesterday's puzzle lasted longer than usual due to some downtime, the changeover was later because of it. Woulf, cool movie you've chosen :D Hi Anj :)
Hi Anj -- seem stable enough since I was on this AM
thanks all. I played from about 12:15, until a little before one, got booted off. I just remember that there were a whole bunch of WWWWW's.
hi Anj...
*grabs anj for a Friday Frolick*
joey -- seems like you were a victim of the server gods --- every now and then they demand a sacrifice ;D
Just scrolled down to see who's here - hi Yoink, Jane, Sherb, etc..... good to see you all!
Hi Mamma, Yoink, GW, EB : ) I was on about 6 hours ago but it all went horribly wrong and I lost all internet activity : /
oh, no.... i have sacrificed???????? at least it is only my mind and not my body........
I'm doing work in between Babble, but have some requests I HAVE to do for work...be back later!
GW - what is your movie?
Aww *gives EvaN a squeeze back* How's the cold hun??
Hi Shreb, how's the new year?
Hi Mama, I already said bye to you, i thought you were going! Good to see you too
BTW, Mama -- I wa thinking of giving this grid a pass when I saw it this AM, but then I found the 10 right off, so I kinda got dragged in... ;D
Pish-posh - work, yuck!!!! See ya later EB!!!!! Today is my last day off - back to work on Monday - trying not to think about it!!!
GW, that sorta happened to me too... : / LOL
still lingering, unfortunately...but im back at work today...figured if im gonna sit around all day and do nothing, may as well not waste a sick day on it! BF came over last night + hes caught my cold and THEN some!
I was, Yoink..... somehow babble seems more enticing than laundry and taking down the Christmas tree!
Mama -- it's Flash Gordon with the Queen soundtrack
Well EvaN, a cold caught is a cold shared ; )
hi!
Greetings Kaylee : )
hes pretty pathetic at the moment, the poor guy...heh
Hi Kaylee
hi Kaylee :)
has anyone ever mastered sleeping w/ their eyes open???? i'm going to sit here and stare at my computers and try it...8)
lol EvaN...there's nothing so bad that a GF can't make worse when it comes to us blokes being sick :D
it's called daydreaming, renfield.... a pleasant pasttime!
hi kaylee!!!
Hi ren -- my father used to work with a guy who could do it, although he had an unfair advantage -- he was narcoleptic
anybody have the 10 yet?
thanks mama....8)
never mind. I found it!
Narcolepsy: fits of irresistable drowsiness or the ability to fall asleep at a mom... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
hey wolfie.... well...i don't believe i have that so i guess i'll just go back to work....8(
See, MAMA -- it kinda jumps out at you, doesn't it? :D
lozzzzzzzzzl anzzzzzzzzzzzzzzj zzzzzzzzzzzz
please, he made it worse all on his own...heh
I take it you had another bad night, ren?
long night at the office - short night in the snooze position...8)
back in a few -- baby wants some attention :) sorry to hear it, ren (*HUG*)
..do I not like the As... : (
ren - we need to win the lottery!
Can someone please give me a hint to the re7/32? I cannot find that for the life of me!
I do not like the a's, I swear I do not like them here nor there. I do not like them anywhere.
Those A's are a little sickening aren't they? I was real happy when I finished them, and so will you be :-)
Wow! I've got that one Mickie: do over, as in play, part or situation : )
ok mama!!!! i love working...i just really don't enjoy correcting others boo-boos.... 8)
re 7/32 do en5/12 again ( make into law again)
punster- great icon!!!! Very, VERY 80's!!!!!
...careful with the Prime Directives there Movieman lol : )
Yes, anj, anyone who I ask for assistance has 20 seconds to comply......lol
Thanks everyone!
thanks movieman thought you'd like it :P And same to you with yours
As far as I can remember, punster, that's the very last scene in Batman isn't it....?
Yeah, I figured you'd recognise it :-> If anyone needs help I'm online for a time yet and I'm pretty much finished the grid
Yipe! Don't click on the [close] option on Dr God's message... everything vanishes : /
I noticed that too Anj, it should have a warning, babblers close this notice at their own risk
alright, punster, give us a clue for the co8 then.....
Yeah, Anj - I learned that the hard way!!!!
Anj, too late I already did and almost died on the spot - it really freaked me out!
me too mama and anj...we all vanish into cyberspace...
hi everyone!
extend the co5/12
*phew!* thought my ISP was going to go breasts up again...
the co8 is bogus in my mind, but it is the present tense of a word with 4 vowels in a row
Hi All.... How's it going?
Hi Sam...how's that new game you didn't know about that you rec'd for Channukkah??
hey again all! how's the babbling going?
and oops - 5 in a row for the co/8
Hi Sam, hi Hugabugs :)
Hi Hugs!
punster- that's never a word in a million years.....
...oh yes it is lol!
Hi Yoink... Hi EB.... long time no see EB!
Hi Hugs : )
I believe the co8/55 is a completely invented word 'cos I can't believe its real
I agree punster - most dubious word I have ever seen in this game
Hugs - I was away for the holidays... I'll be travelling for work next week...so I'm trying to get my Babble fix this whole week!!
The co8/55 may be dubious, but it has a definition. Or rather, the co5 it's based on has a definition and shows the extension.... Compared to so many of the words without a definition at the default dictionary.....
Hi Anj! :o)
attribute it to those crazy Aussies (they're all sleeping now, right??) 8 D
Left for a minute - came back to find all these intriguing messages re the co 8... now I must find it.... *mamabear dons her miner's hat and clicks on the light*
I can't get the co8 at all!
I'm leaving the game for the time being, I keep losing my Broadband connection.....
Sam - it's built off of a 5 (def. is here) A peculiar cry uttered by the Australian aborigines as a call to attract attention, and also in common use among the Australian colonists
see ya movieman!
Sam, do you have the co5/12 that meane 'one who makes the sound of a dove or pigeon'?
yes
Movie, might be the Sober Worm getting jiggy wid it... My ISP has been suffering a bit as well... : /
I cannot get my icon to change ahhhhhh and by the way hello everyone
hi shorty!!!!!!!! ((((((((((((((shorty)))))))))) )))))))))))))
Shorty, you need to hit refresh to see the change. we see a kaleidoscope of colour as your icon....
hi shorty!
Brandyjack who is your icon?
EB - what do you do with that co 5 sound that the bird makes in order to get the 8?
Hey Shorty, Brandyjack : )
I know its when I go into edit it wont change
mama - one who is in the act of the co....
Too bad for you movieman, I hope it firms up enough for you to finish up later. I'm going to bug out myself, as I've managed to wrap up the grid and my mind needs a rest (and some caffeine) so I bid you all adieu.
Sam, change the ending consonent to match the last vowel, (unless you already have the co with two sets of double vowels) then add a common three letter end'ing'...
see ya punster!
I see alot of people like dirty dancing another great movie Patrick Swayze hottie
We may like dirty dancing, whether or not we like the movie is something else....
Brandyjack who is your icon? The reason I ask is he looks like my brother -in law
thanks brandyjack!
LOL BJ
I'm not overly into themes. That's my ugly mug.....
Yah, thanks Brandyjack.
drat. sounds like I made it too obvious.....
you aren't ugly!
So I am still here sorta -- dealing with the consequences of letting Kristianna drink most of my Diet Coke --- she's bouncing off the walls AND she just entered the imitate everything she sees or reads phase yesterday so it is highly amusing! ;D
not ugly at all!!!!! ;)
well you look alot like my brother in law all though hes no longer living
and thanks for the co 8 clue - found it right away *mamabear clicks off lite on miner's hat*
You're a hunk, Jack.
hints please for the two en7
en plus ti/5/10 for en7/28
yeah I finally got it
en plus thespian for en7/32
do you guys see Johnny Depp?
yes, shorty
cool
shorty - yes...but that's not the '80's! We'll let it slide since you had such trouble loading it in!
thanks, haz! i needed the first en. :)
oh i didnt know it was 80's sorry ill change
Haz, thanks for the help, found the 2 en7
Good - glad to help.
Why isn't tagine acceptable?? : /
K hows that :) :)
Anj - I wondered that about 'tagine'. Also, 'pootle', 'pootler' and the 'ro' version of the word.
any clue for re 7/32?? I think I have lost my mind - what little that exist
Can I buy an "S"
Off to make some chilli to go with our jacket potatoes now. I'll come back to finish later.
Hi Jac : ) Must be an Enable thing... It will be interesting to see if it likes balti, tandoori etc
re plus en5/12 - to play over again
there is a en621 and en5/10 after the en7/32 that I do not have. Are they obvious ones?
It would be used for people fighting old battles.
hi folks, lots of weasel words today and no pootling, boo hoo
The en 5/10 I have seen before - add T** Maria. En6/21 - en, plus vowel, plus facial twitch
Haz, again many thanks
You're welcome!
Right got my definitive 80s movie icon....William Hurt in The Big Chill only seen it about 20 times in as many years.....Great film

in6/24 = in +ga4/6
There's a he8? Oh grobbits... : / Evening ferrari : )
why won't anyone speak to me?
Hi Ferrari
enfor, can't find it, must use ga4/6 that I don't have yet
hi ferrari!
hi ferrari -- distracted by daughter and can't always respond in a timely manner right now :)
Hi Anj, was feeling invisible and that's a feat in itself with a bum like mine
the ga4 is something you walk through
I usually walk into it
hello everyone, Happy New Year, lol
Aw, I see you ferrari, but just bearly. There's a big pink box above the log, so if I get an oops I can't see what's going on.
oops! sorry periwinkle! :(
Hi all - EB SNAP!!!!! LOL Have antoher one so will change this soon!
if it is the ga4 I think it is, babble wont take it
lol! I've just flicked back thru the log. I think you kept disapperaing from view before your post appeared. I can't see much of the log with Dr Gs looming red box on display.
dsp...you've done it now...he's been in Smoke with harvey Keitel, broadcast News, lost in space, children of a lesser god, kiss of the spider woman, second best, history of violence, the doctor, gorky park, accidental tourist, body heat, the fourth floor, the proposition and definately not in that order...some good some bad but all with him......nuff said
think of a computer brand for the ga4 g***way
And when you click the 'close' the whole page disappears?
haven't been on at this time for ages, the mornings are so quiet
efor, that is the ga4 that I am trying to use but it wont accept it when I put en in front of it :(
something outside that swings open and then you walk through it it's like a door only it's shorter and usually has a lock on it. you can't not get that!
ferrari - was just about to say I hadn't seen you for ages.
Hail and hello to all... nice to see you anj been a long time...
He was especially appealing in Children of a Lesser God.
ferrari, the log's been a little quiet these last few days as well. I think there are all sorts of software glitches in the 'Net at the moment : /
DUH, I was trying to put en in front of ga4 instead of in, think it time for another break, efor, thanks for your help
Hi Blaze
hi snowy, still babbling
Hi Blaze
periwinkle it's in + ga4/6 LOL!

ooh ferrari

Hi Blaze : ) I went awol over Xmas lol
Hi Anj - Eastern Blue & I had the same idea for the icon! I wasn't going to babble tonight - was off to see Harry Potter but The cinema we were going to ws a community one and there were about 200 kids there! The chap on the door recommended going back on Monday as the noise levels are almost unbearable!
these lo's are a bugger,still missing 4
good for you anj... wish I could do the same from over here... LOL
mab and efor....so good to know he's appreciated across the pond too...I find him unbeleivably sexy and normally I don't go for blonde men...he has gorgeous hands too...MmmmMMmmmMMmm dreaming (only for the last 25 years)
can somebody give me a clue for the he8 pleeeease!
t bear which actor are you talking about ??
I'm back! : ) Hi babe (((xx))), missed you today! : )
Blaze I know where Anj was.....I'll spill gossipy beans if you finish my puzzle.......LOL
Yes, tbear! His hands and his forearms!
Hi Lo ; ) (((xxx))) You ok...how's Iz? Any more mishaps??
he 8/55 - take one l away from the word that British people use to greet each other. Add t, then the three letter word that denotes how old you are
he8, it's to do with serfdom, ends in how old you are
Babe, you do not want to know. She is finally in bed and I am calming my frayed nerves with my beloved wildhearts : )
hi lola
William Hurt, Blaze.
Blaze William Hurt....and keep a low profile on the gossip thing.....someone's just signed in......whistles whilst disappearing to the kitchen for tea
Hi ferrari! : )
oooo good clue ferrari : )
LOL! Oh tbear! xx
Hi Folks! Bit of a toughie today, eh?
Lo, is she ok? Sounds like something's up... : /

Hi bugzy! : )
Hi Bugzy : ) ...and then some... : /
She's fine babe, it's just been one of those days : /
Mab I'm not possessive,I'll share him with you....His mediterrenean equivilent is the father of my oldest girl....same serious appeal and hands....but dark haired version.....irresistable
bugsy.... just look at it as if someone has taken a corkscrew to it..... there the words will be...
oops reality calls must depart....
hi Bugzy
thanks haz!
see ya blaze
One of those days Lola?? I go through the same!! You should have heard the verbals this morning. Not fair is it......
see ya blaze!
Good, Sam - I was hoping you would get it - take away the last three letters for the 5 before it.
Hi Anj, Lola, Blaze, Snowy et al :) I think a need to take a corkscrew to a large bottle of merlot to finish this one LOL

What an excllent idea Bugzy...and after xmas I have a selection
I'm enjoying a good syrah at the mo : )

Hmm, a drink....what a good idea : )
zy, sorry pressed post instead of jump
Only virtual vino for me, as I'm at work still :(
Don't worry Lola...it only gets better!!!! As nose grows across the room...
virtual vino doesn't taste the same
...oooo, that sounds terrible lol! " I hereby sentence you to offspring!" : D
But is certainly more affordable! lol
... and less likely to get me fired !!
why do I never remember that loofah type word
IT'S A SERIOUS CASE OF CAN'T LIVE WITH 'EM CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT 'EM.......Kids!! who'd 'ave 'em......I DID....Alcohol quick......Bugzy prepare yourself foe a large virtual glass......listen......glug,gl ug,glug into a balloon glass.....aaaahhhhhh
Okay babe, she was really cute too. Her new song at the mo is from shark tale and she sings 'don't, worry about a thing, because every little thing, is gonna be all right' at the top of her voice : )
...you're going to have to teach her some SNG babe : )
Of course she thinks I'm nuts when I tell her it's bob marley. She knows it's the jellyfish after all....
Next time Lola bring her with you and my girl'll look after her.....why do young girls love teenage girls....it's instant love thing
Thanks tbear, I needed that!!! Going home to a 2 year old and a 6 year old in an hour or so.... and someone in my department did get fired today.... Needed the BIG glass !!
Bugzy I'll top you up when you get home...even if it means opening another bottle....sounds like you really need it...
My two and a half year old is currently rolling one of those plastic IKEA chairs across the room because she wants to get to her markers so she can draw on her whiteboard! Talk about precocious!!! :D
Anj, any song in particular? tbear, be careful, I may just leave her there : )
Yeah, the Diet Coke just isn't cutting it today!
Lo, Supergirl or Bubblegum on my Boots : )
GW - Just be happy she's drawing on the whiteboard and not the sofa (like my 2yo did, with a Sharpie) !!
babble has definitely eaten one of my he words, as in not there, I put it in this morning, beam me up
ferrari, that's happened to me as well. Some of the words I entered at midday have vanished. Mind you, the server appeared to throw a serious wobbly at the same time...
Has happened to me as well.
soooo frustrating, I want to go and pootle
urf - that happens to me nearly every day, ferrari
Bugzy - she has done that too! Bu thankfully on HER Winnie the Pooh fold out futon so the damage was selfcontained :)
Hey, tbear was he in The Deep?
*Anj has Jacqueline Bissett moment* 8D
so we can rootle and pootle together Anj
dsp not sure.... Lola P L E A S E do......put my girls off starting too early
tbear, now there's an idea!
LOL GreyWoulf... My (now) 6yo also drew on his bed sheets and bedroom carpet with markers when he was little.... we've started to outlaw markers that aren't those Crayola 'no mess' ones and only allow crayons and colored pencils!! :)
*yawn* almost time for sami to go home, do laundry, and pass out!
snowy -sorry for the delayed response...it's the work thing...gets in the way of my Babbling... I've 'changed' into one of the 3 I was deciding among today...(Breakfast Club was the other which lola has)...
Hi EvaN - feeling better then??
No-one has done The Unkown Stuntman yet either ; )
so-so really sleepy today...and i hafta judge a dance team competition bright + early tomorrow, so i have a feeling tonight will be early-to-bed!
Hi evaN! : )
Hi Evanadine, EB... So hard to pick just one 80s movie, isn't it?? So many good ones...
afternoon/evening all! TGIF.
woot! Just nailed an e7/52 : )
hi evan
Bugzy...I did "Dirty Dancing" this morning...snowy can have it for the afternoon...I don't think anyone else had Bueller today... Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? Bueller?? 8 D
Back again -- I see you have a movie icon up, GW -- surprised it's not Dances with Wolves!
Bugzy -- of course the other fun bit is when she hands me the pen and asks me to draw something for her, like a dragon! My artistic ability at best and she wants me to DRAW! :D
Refresh babe, this ones for you ; )
EB thats ok - I had one in case too! I loved Dirty Dancing so much - all those great sing along tracks LOL
ac 6/21, please?
LOL!
EB - Save Ferris!!! I'm a Jake Ryan girl, myself :) But I had considered Airplane and Caddyshack too!
Was Buckaroo Banzai an '80s film??
Relating to vinegar - unreturnable serve plus metal
yes! No matter where you go ... there you are. BB
cyber, a tennis a** plus a cake t**
D*mn! The band, the BAND! We forgot the band!! We're on a mission from God : )
C-nan -- I decided to go with a movie that I willingly will watch over and over --- Dances w/Wolves was great, but way too long for me view multiple times :)
GW- or when they draw something and you're supposed to guess what it is... um, a tree? a cow? oh, it's Spongebob and Patrick playing volleyball, of course! LOL
if yu want to be a movie star yu must take ac lesson
Anj - It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Thank you, ferrari
Cheers Darleen : )
Bugz - hit it! : D
ooo...BB! another good movie!!...or Stripes...man - way too many from the '80's!! What a decade!
:D The Stand By Your Man scene is a classic, as is Aretha in the diner!
ae 5/12?
I had an 80s party for my hubby last year for his 40th birthday - as a game, we had "Name that 80's Movie Quote" (and 80s song lyrics too) It was so much fun trying to come up with them!!!
LOL bugzy our 5 yr old grandchild drew 'papa'( my hubby) with plaits ( braids) - it took us hours to get her to say who it was so now I say 'Oh fantastic drawing tell me all about it' That way I don't offend them and I dont have to spend 2 hours guessing!
cyber, a cuplike structure of rust fungi, lots of vowels, ends in a c
Hey GW - want to play pictionary????? LOL
Bugzy - I'd be great with the music...I can never remember movie lines!!
Exactly, snowy, that's the only way to do it! :)
oo....ooo!! I'll play pictionary!! I love that game!

Ha ha! Ferris Bueller. God, I love that movie. My husband hates it. He hates it even more when I find it on TV and HAVE to watch at least 15 or 20 minutes of it. "Save Ferris".
I'll lend it to you next time you're down...

lola - Noddy would probably to**** along the road in his motor car :)
Lo...what about adding to your t4/4 for to6/18 or are there loads
...and that would make him a to7...
Gotta love noddy clues! Thanks sherb and tbear : )
SHERB...WHO'S YOUR ICON?
I don't know who Noddy is...but I got the clue! thanks!
same as yours, tbear... the gorgeous Ms Basinger...

*sings* Ohhhh, I'm a little noddy man, I always nod my head! EB, he is an english children's book character created by enid blyton : )
don't know what Calista Flockart would think, though...
Well sherb ha ha who knows...!
good evening ladies and gentlemen, and creatures of undistinguishable origin. How are we? Lovin the icons - Lola- Howard the Duck? Wonderful! George Lucas' biggest regret!
Shreb, why a mistake?
thanks lola...I had a feeling it was a kid's book!
hi Dachef!
Jessie - mistake? sorry, you've lost me...
Hi dachef! It was a wonderfully awful movie, wasn't it? lol!
awww...i grew up on Noddy. :)
oh, sorry, Jessie, I'm with you now... mistake because I'm finding it difficult...still 134 words to go...
evandine - you grew up on Noddy? Ugh! Didnt Big-Ears get locked up for that kind of thing?
must finish up some work stuff & then I'm heading for home...I'll be back on in 1 1/2 hours or so... for any leaving in that time - farewell... for those who will still be around - see you in a bit!
evaN, did you read The Magic Faraway Tree too, then??
mention Noddy, and somebody eventually has to lower the tone... :D
I hope to be finished by then EB, so I will say goodbye as it is important to be optomistic : )
well hell's bells, as my granny used to say. You all change so often how can I keep up>?
sherb, lol...and it's what our dachef does best! : )
lola - I'll be optimistic for you too & say "fare thee well!"
<chuckles inanely to himself in the corner>
Thanks EB! See you tomorrow?
heh, never saw the other one... only knew Noddy cause my grandma read the books to us whenever we visited
Please will someone help me with the first to7/36?? : )
the rate I'm going, EB, I'll see you later, but in case I don't, bye :)
evaN, MFT was also enid blyton. Amazing stories, can't wait to read them again with my daughter in a couple of years : )
lola - to7/36 is the act of doing the word preceding it :) (haven't a clue what it means...)
*FINALLY* had to wait til i got home to update my icon so i can actually see it now. :)
still here...still at it....still got 76 words to find !!!....hello to all I din't see before...and bye to those going or gone !!
Shreb, have you heard from smaller, I haven't been able to bullbait her for over a week.
Dachef.....how's the new restaurant and are we gunna try to do what we were discussing? p.s. HNY
sherb, in that case I don't have that to4 either...wasn't sure if the one I had came before or after the 7 : /
Jessie - saw her a few days ago... seemed a bit more subdued than usual... don't know if she's played since then
Evan - fab icon! But can anyone settle a long runing dispue between me and my sister - at the end of the film in Evans icon, the boy shouts a name out of the window, but it is indistinguishable. I will give a pineapple to anyone who can actually make it out.....
lo - the to4 is the French for roof
Lola what boys like to play with to4/4 singular and then the person doing the to4........lowering the tone...!!
*MOONCHILD!!*
"Moonchild"?!?! That was the name of his mother!?!? Suddenly, the movie has taken on a whole new meaning....
my college roommie actually wrote a paper based on the movie... one of her main points was that the name was intelligible + purposely so -- so anyone could relate to it. then she downloaded the script + saw the real name...heh...her theory was blown to bits!
evanadine....eh?? Moonchild...bit random
precisely!
But that would mean Paula Yates was his grandmother!
ok thought we might have to call the Babble emergency services for a minute there
*shrug* thats just what i know...heh
sherb, tbear, thank you! : )
dachef...you said you + your sister had an argument over it? what was the other choice?
there were no choices - she said that it was Sebastian, the same name as him, but my argument was that that was really stupid. The real answer seems even more ridiculous.
Aaargh, I hate the T's : ( Please help with the ta6/18 and the ta5/14 *lola bats eyelashes*
heh, yeah... i still prefer to go with my old roommates theory that it was supposed to be unintelligible...therefor, more universal. i like that much better. :)
lola ta6/18 - a narrow band or ribbon for the hair that was worn in ancient Greece (ends like the Chronicles of Nar***) ta5/14 - a subarctic, evergreen coniferous forest of northern Eurasia located just south of the tundra and dominated by firs and spruces
Thank you soooo much sherb! : )
y/w lola :) I start from the end and work backwards, and the T's nearly put me off the whole grid...
sherb, I do the same but had to skip some on this one as I was worried I'd never make it to the A's! I've gone back to the end and am trying to get the ones I had to leave now : /
I wish I'd done that, lola... only got as far as the N's...
Aargh, I still need three of them! lol! This one is a toughie, isn't it??
i still need 116 words...hehe
sherb give me a clue to the ta5 pine forest one...just tried every concievable (obviously not) possibility...pretty pls

Can someone please help me with the first re5/10? : )
tbear, how many you got left?
lola - lease again
Lola is it the re (rent) one
Aaargh, thanks cyber! : )

cyber, shall we all have a break for a *** and tonic?? lol!
This grid has me beat. I played a bit earlier on, but didnt get anywhere fast. Came back bout an hour ago and have found only 4 words. When you start to dribble on your keyboard, you know that this grid was not meant to be beaten. Gonna turn in, see y'all next week.
18 to go and determined not to use a2z
C'mon cyber, we'll do this together then! : )

Try ending your pi 7 with a double vowel
Thanks haz! The only damn combo I didn't try... : /
You got there in the end....
lo - pi7 ends with double vowel :)
I've only had 3 tiny glasses (babycham style glasses) of cava and I feel tiddly.....might have to change my drink to this in future....yay
haz -- still can't see how to get there! -- I figure the word has to start with something you drink or something you set a golf ball on.
If you look at the number value you will see that one letter has to be a 2.
*boogies through log* "Well, my temperature's rising and my feet hit the floor Twenty people knocking 'cause they're wanting some more..."

Wow, Thanks right there in front of me
sherb, I am ashamed to admit that I have obviously not done enough research into your uk chocolates since I got here. I plan to start rectifying this first thing tomorrow! : )
at 6/ 24: at4/5 plus 2/3's of an intensive care unit
thanks, Cmith
OOO - chocolate run - let's go
Thanks cmith! Babe, never heard of one of those : )
sherb - i've got 4....that's 4 entered....8)
well, ren, it's right to pace yourself... it's taken me about seven hours on and off to get this far...
to7/28 and to7/36 am missing lots of T's but help with these would help
to 7/ 36 present participle of previous to4/4 (blowing a horn
to 7/ 28 one who does previous to 6/18 (cute horn blower
peri, for to7/28 put an R on your 2nd to6/18 : )

I'm sensins there's a movie theme today ??? Guess I'm out of touch.

pi7/36 and pi8/60 please
renfield - I am! I am! chocolate, alcohol, and illegal substances - not necessarily in that order
pi 7/ 36 carnation variety or could be a wee pi5/14 (ornamental loop used in crocheting, knitting, etc) pi 8/ 60 present participle of pi5/14 (edging with an ornamental loop)
ok - hey then i have 25 pounds of choco and 2 liters of 151 rum....8)
ren, do I detect a note of desperation tonight ?? :)
peri, the 7 ends in a double vowel (use the 5 before it) and the 8 is doing the 5 : )
renfield - done. what do you need?

cathy... i have read so many words today....i'm seeing words...oh wait - that's the grid...8) yes i am living a life of quiet desperation right now...
*lola leans over and wipes sherb's brow*
What is the Babble etiquette for re-, in- and un- word clues? Do we do "re plus another word" and thereby provide the first four letters or what?

there are too many co words
This is the grid that never ends.... it just goes on and on my friend.... some people starting playing it not knowing what it was... and they'll continue playing it forever, just because... it is the grid that never ends.... it just goes on and on my friend...................

stop torturing me with melodies stuck in my empty head!!! I am going for a drink. Be back later
I love your icon, ak - it's adorable - purl one, knit two!!!
yes who'll be around???
Mamabear add an "er" to co4/5 above it this word is even more lower temperature than one above once again, same ending as the co6's above but this is a continuation of the root word co4/5 last co6 has an interest"ing" suffix
* holds up arms * i'll catch you mama!
Anj, you still around? Mamabear needs you to be Johnny for her Baby and catch her !!
Yvo - we're practically neighbors!!!!! Evanonut - that's a good torture song too!!! I like your new version LOL
will ya'll excuse me while i drive home? i think i can cnnnect to my wireless...but ican't drive and babble...8)
drive careful ren
ren -- I'm very glad to hear you say you won't drive and Babble at the same time :) have a safe trip home !!
Ren I would feel better knowing you're not driving at Babbling at the same time. Cya when you're safe!
k - be back in about 45 minutes!!!
thanks for the help missyme!!! I am missing one still - I have the er added to the chilly word... there are 2 on the list together - missing the other one
*does the "final jeopardy" ditty for aknitter* That one can't possibly get stuck in your head :)
drive carefully ren!!! see ya later!!!! sing on the way home - it'll make the drive go lots faster!!!!
probably because it's stuck in mine!
mamabear did you see the info I left a few posts down on the co6's?
*evil grin* Gee, I'm sorry Evan ;)
yes missyme - that's how i got the other 2 i was missing
nothing a little tequila rose won't fix
Mamabear -- bet you're missing the one that could refer to body lice :)
oh...just saw your response Mama that last word is like the one above it only add a sill"ie" suffix
good idea.... 50 words to go.... time for a rum & somethng.... brb
yes cathy, boys have those

Eva....lol boys...ewwww...eww ww...they have co*****! Bleh...phfpfhfttt

Too bad you're not great apes..would be a great source of protein...
Thanks!!! I've Conquered the C's - time for rum.....
share...
you mean i'm not supposed to eat them?
Eva, well it's not a hard, fast rule you have to be a great ape...I'm sure there's a recipe for them somewhere on the internet...google it
* delicately picks at teeth * well, if you say so.
that last one was fiesty, must have thought he was trying out for fear factor.
oh...eva....fear factory...oh my...that show...must...turn...channel.. .before...I...toss...chunks... .
WHAT a puzzle! just wanted to check in so the evening crowd would get a chance to see my icon. :)
Hurshy...I found this puzzle pretty tough. I fought for almost every word!
oh, and is everyone amused by co8/55?
hi hurshy !! it's a tough one today, isn't it? I'm down to my last few words, though, and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel
me too, missy.
loverly hurshy, what is it?...i think tomorrows theme should be grubs, in honor of our ape friends, and the puzzle too.
co8 one was siillyying
yeah, i mean, when i finished, i was actually taken by surprise, bc i had not thought it was near!
hi kids...done with work (sort of) and thought I'd come back to tackle the last 100...ugh...this puzzle is never-ending!!
grubs? not a VERY appetizing theme... mine is the princess bride
Hi Blue I loved that movie...so funny!
oh yes, now i remember. #1 best selling movie of all time. but i'll take harry potter.
well now, i love harry potter, but i can't say the movies are all that great. they don't compare to the books.
My all time favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption but there are so many others....*sigh*
not as good as the books, true...but do you really think it is possible?
Missy - that is an awesome movie!
sure - just make 'em 50 zillion hours long - us true fans will watch :)
just saw pride and prejudice myself, now that was a disappointment.
i gotta go folks, sorry to pay such a brief visit. nice to see you all though!
bye hurshy!!
ta ta hursh
bye hurshy ... see ya this weekend maybe
Peter Jackson did one heck of a job with LoTR which I thought an impossible task because of the material. Maybe he should tackle one of the Potter books :)
perhaps the final one?
Blue...wasn't it a delcious movie? So perfect from beginning to end!
Eva It would probably be a grand finish for the series if he did!
I coule watch that one over & over again...
po6/27and the two po6/21's right after it
Blue The same...and I can because I have it on DVD :)
hubby is waiting until we have an HD TV to get the HD version...
po6/27 thick creamy soup. Combine a vessel you cook in with a time in history, the stone***
peri - po 6 27 is a thick creamy soup
hint or ro7/36 please
po6/21 po + second te4/4
second po6/21 po+ last te4/4
ro7/36 first ro4/4 + a time in history, the stone***
thanks MissyMe and cathy, Don't know why I didn't see them, I keep looking for obscure words and don't see the obvious LOL
anybody have the ga 6/30 "first on the ga list" - thanks!
Peri You're welcome. Its those suffixes that get me too :) oooo Blue you're getting an HDTV? Nice :)
Missy - not for 2 more years...it's a long term plan!!
ga 6/30 this is like the word below it only with a different end"ing"
MissyMe, don't think I have the first ro4/4 and actually I need help with both ro7/36
Blue...that's pretty much where we're at...we're waiting for prices to come down
mama - ga + vowel + popular end___ in this puzzle!!
Missyme - I watched the first 3 Potter movies this week while I was home sick..... I thoroughly enjoyed them!!!!!
its the second ro4/4 its like what you find under the dirt on every plant
Mama I've seen the first two...such fun! They were real eye candy!
both of the ro7's use that same ro4/4 word as their base...
MissyMe, I did have the right ro4/4, thank you. still need help with the other ro7/36 though
MissyMe, found the other ro4/4
great! :)
The last ro7 has a different end"ing" than the other which is like the time in history, the stone***
MissyMe, thanks got it(the ro/7/36
Peri Yw :)
I don't think I have ever asked for so many clues before. ne6/24 and ne7/36x2 please
clue on last ga 5/14 please?
mama - think crocodile...
mama...and it's nearby 'cousin' (abbreviated)
Peri, I found this puzzle very frustrating! ne6/24 this is when you cancel something out the others are people who actually do the canceling, change the vowels in each suffix to get both words
thanks EB!!!!! an actual word, no less!!!! *embarassed*
lol Mama! :D
MissyMe, thanks so much, yes I am finding this puzzle quite frustrating and difficult.
mama - with all the whacko words...it's hard to remember what the REAL words are!!! 8 D
peri - a2z is my new best friend today!!
EB - I love a-z , but also love Onelook Reverse Dictionary
Peri yw :)
how about the first ha 6/27?
ha 6/27 its like the word below it but with a different end"ing"
mama - like the ga 6 you were looking for earlier!
Begging for clues again, to finish off the N's - ni5/12 and ni4/4
I'm working through the l's right now...no n's yet!
ni5/12 - think Ms. Kidman without the last vowel. ni4/4 - a time of darkness with a different spelling.
the base word of ha6/27 means "to have" and sounds like "hay" but change the last letter to a vowel. Now add an end"ing" to it :) I hope that's a better clue :)
Jacula, thanks found the ni/5 - I had tried it with the e on the end and it did not work, didn't think to drop the e. Still can't find that stupid ni4/4
peri - think of the opposite of morning....for the ni 4
Peri - opposite of 'day' or a chap on a white charger killing dragons or rescuing damsels.
EB - DUH, I swore that I had typed that ni4/4 already.
thanks EB!!! what a strange grid this is!
Thanks Jacula, thought I had that ni4 already, but I didn't
peri...I'm going to be begging for clues soon..!!
I keep missing the easy ones :(
nothing is easy in this grid!!
EB, I will help if I can, only have 170 so still lots more to find. don't know how much longer I will be playing though, getting tired.
Peri - I did the same in the co's with the henhouse and in the lo's with the lasso end!
I'm working on my left over t's now, having given up trying to find he8/55.
missing the 2nd ha6/27
peri - disliking.
jacula - he 8 he + "I want to buy a ____ so I can build my house" + once I buy it I'll stay there until my old ____
Jacula, thanks, another easy one that I missed
any help with 3 lo 5's? lo 5/10 lo 5/12 lo 5/12
anything on the last 2 po 6/21's???? hi jac!
lo5/10 sounds like Mr Armstrong the jazz trumpeter
lo 5/10 - remember the song "lo*** louie, oh baby, I say now we gotta go....oh yeah yeah yeah....."
po6/21: strong, powerful
Mamabear, do you have the po + camping gear (common babble word, starts with t)
on both the lo 5/12's - add a consonan to the end of both of the 4/4's above each of them
lo5/12: Of, relating to, or living in moving water
no i did not peri - but I do now. Thanks!
thanks for the lo-down on the lo's!! 8 )
Mammabear, glad I could help, been begging for clues most of the day :0
Hi MamaBear. EB - Thanks for the he8. I don't think I'd even have guessed that without your clue.
still need the other po 6/21 as long as I'm on my knees...
Unlawfully distilled Irish whiskey
someone gave some other clue earlier that helped me get it....but I can't remember what their clue was...I just had to wing it for you...glad it worked!! (my hubby says I'm always too wordy...sometimes it's a good thing!!)
marigold are you playing?
po6/21 - Irish hooch. Think po+ troublesome age for a child (between 12 & 20).
Mammabear - po+ (those between the ages of 10-20)
need help with re 7/32, please
*stage whispers to Mama...* keep asking - they're helping me too!!
gnubee - re + en5/12
re7/32 - to en5/12 again.
t/y, t/y, Jacula, haven't done the e's yet, so I got 2 words
Please allow me to join the begging. Missing one of the co5/12's near the end. Have the device you'd use on apples.
gwenski - co+ what you get when you sit in the sun
thanks, again, peri!!!!! brb
gwenski co5/10 co + what you get at the beach...that nice color :)
gwenski - co 5 - co + what you shouldn't do in the summer (lying out in the sun to get a _ _ _ )
peri - great clue!! 8 D
Y'all are so helpful! Thanks!
'You have 0 words left to find.' YIPPEE!
Mamabear, you very welcome (what does brb mean?)
(and MissyMe) for clarification - by brother in law is a dermatologist...so I'm very warned against the damage of the sun's rays!
Congrats to Jacula!!!!
Yw gwenski Im running back and forth preparing a chicken cassarole..one of those complicated ones so i'm absent at times
good job jac!!!!!!
brb=be right back
peri - brb = be right back
Jacula!!! Alright! :) ~%~%~%~%~fireworks~%~%~% ~%~
woo hoo jacula!! congrats!!
love your fireworks, missyme!!
quiting at 175 , may come back later
Blue, I know better to sit out in the sun too. I have very delicate skin...I just call myself a geek and get over it. :D
k peri cya later :)
bye peri...you'll be back - the pull of the grid is just too much!! 8 )
ty mama :)
I have 180, peri - you'll be back!!! I think I am committed to finishing this one.. for some odd reason.
mama - it's for the scintillating conversation!!
I'm here for clue-giving for a while, if anyone needs some.
Didn't go quite yet, there is an A word I am missing that has to do with rocks and I can't quite get the spelling
which a peri?
peri - it's a + what you walk through in a 'fence' to go to the front door of the house...
EB - you know it!!!!
I think it is the ag7/36
ag7: think of what a washing machine does, but end with a different vowel. Or someone who stirs up trouble.
peri - the ag 7 /36 - not related to the rocks...it's what you are trying to find the word!!
peri think what a washing machine does when it cleans close, it ag***** to do it. Now add a different vowel at the end
need help with one of the last re 6/18's, please I have: the optic part to fix a fork to change color to prepare to manufacture another item to rend again
peri - that's a musical direction. Sounds like someone rather stirred up with a round vowel ending.
EB and Jacula, thanks found it
gnubee - not quite to the r's yet...sorry!
gnubee looks like you have them all
gnubee - Yes, the re's are always 'fun', aren't they? One never knows what one can 're'do!
any clues for oc6/24? Please and ty
oc6/24 this is a plural of the 8-tenacled underwater creature...
As Missy said, gnubee, you seem to have them all.
why, I do have them all (15 re's ) - I had another one on my list, duh, TY!
gnubee lol yw :)
Thank you MissyMe - wonderful clue :)
macuser yvw :)
Wow, that puzzle turned my brain inside out. I just finished -- does anyone need a clue for anything?
melissamay - congrats! this was a beast to slay!!
just came back and looked at my list to see where I am.... the re's - need 11 of them!!! aaaaahhhhhhh
mama...I need more than that - I'm only on 'o's' right now!
Thanks, EasternBlue! I started really early last night and took a loooong break. It was slow going -- even the little bitty words were elusive.
melissamay Yay! ~%~%~%~%~fireworks~%~% ~%~%~
I need 38 EB, from re's to the end of the to's!!!!!
I'm going cross-eyed just looking at the grid!!
mama - 63 for me...
would you guys believe I monkey-typed he8/55 and got it on the first try? I was cracking up!
Thanks MissyMe :). I'll hang out for a bit and if I can help anyone, just give a shout!
LOL, Missyme!!!! You'll have to give your monkey a raise!!!!
Mama ROTF!!!
*passes banana to MissyMe's talented monkey*
OK--I have 87 words to go, and I'm going to be asking for clues! Believe me, I'm going to need 'em! Please?
I was right to name him Einstein He thanx you for the banana with a polite bow, EB
No prob, harpjane -- I can hang out for another half hour or so if your monkeys get tired. Mine sure did!
re 8/45?
harpjane...this puzzle is a braintwister! I think several people have mentioned the same thing--that we had to struggle for every word!
Missy - gotta love those chimps... I'd love to adopt a real live chimp...he or she might do better on this grid than me... I've always wanted a chimp - they are so darn cute!
re 8/45 this means you're reluctant to do something, holding back
re8 means shy, retiring. Take the first 4 letters of the re5 before it and add a word meaning a penny.
The dictionary def for re8 word for word is: Inclined to keep one's thoughts, feelings, and personal affairs to oneself. That might help if you need to google!
EB they can be very difficult and get quite nasty in old age if not treated properly. I remember one chimp that had been raised in capitivity and donated in his older years to the San Francisco Zoo...he used to spit at people. So the zookeepers put a plastic screen up in front of his cage. Despite this, he spit over the screen through the top of his cage and hit people every time!
thanks mm.... now I gotta find the 5's above and below it!
Missy - I bet he was pissed he wasn't with his "family" any more...he showed them! That made me laugh!!
how about the first re 7/36 and next 6/24?
lo 8/55? I might as well start with the big ones!
EB I was thinking the same thing. :( It was his way of showing his anger because now he was caged.
harp - we've been lo ______ words in this grid (or not!) all day!!
Mama - the re5 below it is what you do to your shoelaces if they come undone. The re5 above it is the same but with a diff. vowel ending.
heck, there's a few people I would like to spit at!!!!!!
lo 8/55 this is when your trying to find something...you're in the process of lo****** wherever it is hiding
lol Mama!
So we have! Thank you!
re 7/36: A substance used in a chemical reaction to detect, measure, examine, or produce other substances. re 6/24: An antibody found in the blood of individuals having a genetic predisposition to allergies such as asthma and hay fever.
Jane lol! Yw :)
Mama! tee hee hee!!!!!
lo 5/12 x 2?
I've been seeing 'nicotine' in this grid all day, though it isn't there!
Jacula...I hate those "ghost" words...they're so distracting!
jacula - that's because we've been 'smoked' by this grid!!
LOL, EB. I'm going to have to get off to bed now, folks. It's 2.48am here. See you for the next grid. Happy Babbling!x
And a good evening to all! Back to find my last 73 if my cat will let me have my arms! *pulls arms from under sprawling cat in lap* And it's not even one of the fat ones!
lo 5/12 lo + what doctor tells you to do when you open your mouth...say *** but drop the last consonant add a "c" to the word above the last lo5/12
sweet dreams Jacula! thanks for your help!!
Night Jacula :)
thanks melissamay!!!!!! i wouldn't have gotten them without those clues.
Woulfie! Welcome back... Mama & I are both here....
Hi/Bye Jac (*hug*)
(((((((((((((((((((((((((GW))) )))))))))))))))))))))
Hello GW :) Nice to see you...or your sweet puppies anyway :)
EB -Yay -- the three babbleteers ride again!!!
HI/bye Wolfie. *Hugs back*. Sorry I can't stay. I need some beauty sleep. 'Night, night all.
No def for the first lo 5/12 -- add a 2 point letter to the end of the lo 4/4 before it. Second lo 5/12: Of, relating to, or living in moving water.
g'nite jacula!!!! have a good nite's rest!!!
Get so rest Jac -- we'll catch up another time :) Missy - you should be seeing Ming the Merciless, not puppies :\
((((((((((((**********MAMA**** *****))))))))))))
You're welcome, mamabear. MissyMe's doing great giving clues, I'm just a bit slower :)
harpjane...that "c" i said add goes at the end of the lo5/12 word I forgot to add that
Good night Jacula!
i'm here somewhere...8)
GW I will refresh...
hail, hail, the gang's all here!!!!!!!
nite mistress!!! 8)

snow --- yuck!
pi 8 end"ing of pi5/14
First re 5/10 -- to rent again, or to permit again. It looks weird. Re + a three letter word starting with L. re 5/14: If you worked in retail and someone returned an item, you'd put the little piece of paper with the price on it again -- you'd re + three letter word starting with T.
eb - i love cheesie toast!!!\one for all and all for one!!!
i want the 10 letter word are there any clues? I am begging
(((((((((((((melissamay))))))) )))))) you are awesome!!! Only 2 more re's to go then I'll be on to my t's
If you get a new job and have to move to another place, you are re********
aknitter, re 10 - in the process of going to another place
i'm going start singing if i don't get that 10 letter word. Someone stuck a song in my head and i can not get rid of it
aknitter re10 re + lo8/55
aknitter - if you move from one place to another - you would be re _ _ _ _ _____
So unfortunately I am now forced to ask a clue for pi 5?
that was very mean of that person, ak..... I wonder who could have done such a thing!!!! teehee
thank you all, you've saved yourselves from my singing
aknitter -- if you start throwing memes around, I'll throw some of my one back! ;)
pi 5 pi + a small foldaway bed
mama - was that you???
pi5, a small decorative embroidery or crochet knot
ak - I could hum a few more bars, if you would like me to infect everyone!!!!
re10 -- If you're moving, you'd say you are re + word starting with L to a new area.

Does anyone remember the movie, The Angry Red Planet? I just got it on DVD and forgot how weird the "technomagic" effects were. I'm thinking now it was one of those films you had to use the 3D glasses to watch. Anyone know if that's correct?
Ren -- it seems like everytime you are watching an old film while babbling :) Which one tonight?
not eye said the gleam w/ a girl in my i...8)
MissyMe - never saw it...sorry!!
Hi Mamabear!
K :) I'll hunt some 3D glasses down somewhere and see if that makes the scenes on mars pop out at me
Missy -- just hit the IMDB -- here's the trivia bit they give: The "Cinemagic" process, used for all scenes on the surface of Mars, was the result of an attempt by producer Norman Maurer to turn live-action footage directly into hand-drawn animation - or to simulate that. This would enable hand-drawn backgrounds to look as real (or as unreal) as the live action footage.
the unguarded hour..mez either records or buys them for me...
could I have clues for the er words?
Don;t know that one, ren -- but then my movie exposure has actually been fairly limited :)
*smacks head* I forgot about IMBD....thanx GW :)
hi lucky!!!!! long time no read!!!!
no prob, Missy ;)
harp - er words - think "sexy"
er words: Both are forms of sexy type material...word ends in a vowel...second word plural of it

MissyMe all the Hugs are keeping me until I say Goodnite sleep tight
ge 7/36?
((((((Lucky)))))) oh :)
ge 7/36 meaning of 36 hugs from 7 friends BYE

ren -- supporting character from Dukes of Hazzard
duh...like ol' co***** brown... i should have remembered!!
rh6 please?
Woulfie - rh - often used in "speech" with an "ic" at the end
rh6 rhymes with better but take out the double consonant and add a different vowel in the suffix
you are so kind JoJo..... yes bummed is a good way to describe it.... life is full of turmoil these days..... but FIRST..... have to find the last 25 words!!!!

GMTA, Mama ;)

ok i tried every combo except THAT one... now need the ti 5/10
ti5/10 -- take the metric version of a quart and change the 1st letter

Hi everybody. I can't think clearly... Any clues please for the first RE 6 the last TO 6

Ren...is are you lips moving? I'm asking... :D
Last pitiful request LO 5 the second one? For the love of g-d?
leslie - re + secret ag****
Leslie Ann - it's a 7/6/7 re - + sports "ag _ _ _" re + vowel + vodka like drink re + en 5/12
lo5/12: lo 4/4 + a 2 pt. consonant
LO 5 The specific position of a gene or other chromosomal marker
my lips are moving...... 8D see....
lol Ren
No way . . .Let's take a look at the split . . .
but if you always lie to me...then by telling me that you are telling the truth which means you're not lying which means you don't always lie when your lips are moving... ahhhhhh o-0
thanks so much eb!
Hi Torgone :)
http://users.mcmedia.com.au/~s tocky/ausfilms.html here's a movie site and my lips are not moving....8/
Torgone!!! Hi!!! I was just thinking I hadn't seen you in ages!!!
hi torg!!!
Hello, luvs!!! Haven't been around for a while..
I want s's in the next clue to give me a break from this one...and some t's and some d's...
so what does that mean, you've been a square?
I mean next puzzle Torgone...all is well?
LOL mama 8)
I want 0 words starting with a
I do not want words with A I say, I do not want them anyway I do not want them here nor there I do not want them anywhere.
Thank you Ren. This lady from "up over" will now be Australian movie savvy :)
15 minutes -- time to grab a glass of wine.
Mama Do you want them with a fish Do you want them with a dish?
LOL Mama! I've been away from the computer a bit, plus I can no longer Babble at work . .
I do not want them very tall I do not want them very small I do not want them on a wall I do not want them here at all
I do not want them with a fish I do not want them in a dish I do not want them with a squid I do not want them on MY GRID!
still stuck on second lo 5 despite very good clues; more help please?
Torgone...were you caught Babbling?
Then it stands to reason, then that you ARE updating your resume??????????????? *missed you*
lo + british for "thanks" + 2 point consonant
lo 5 lo + sounds like *sigh*...only with a "c" instead of an "s"...then add a vowel
Missy - Kind of. They installed a new firewall that blocks EVERYthing that looks like fun.
the other lo 5 is lo + bug on a dog (not a flea!!)
www.resume.com
Torgone...geesh...I bet the boss can march right through that firewall and play Babble any time he wants...preferrably when all of you are out of the room
Tor - dag-nab firewalls!!!
I'm staying only to see the flip - then I'm headin' to bed...this is one tired puppy!!
argh I gave the wrong clue! sorry mab word rhymes with phooie
Yup. My boss asked me to look into wireless headsets for the service people; I was blocked by the firewall from "shopping" sites, he tried, and it wasn't blocked . . .
Nite EB :) pleasant dreams and restful sleep!
co 8?
I do not like the firewalls They are like a kick in the ba*** I do not like that I can't play I wish that they would go away.
co 8: add present participle to co 5/12
LeslieAnne - co 5 the crazy c + double vowels + double vowels - co 8 is the "act" of doing the co 5
Torgone...my husband was a purchasing agent before he went into business for himself. His company had a firewall like yours. What a pain for him when he had to shop online to go ask the boss to take it down for him!
Mamabear is quite Seussian tonight . .
9:53 pm and a relatively balmy 6C (43F) outside -- have this horibble feeling that a rude awakening will be coming along soon!
what is that?? thanks eb.
Leslie - an Aussie Aboriginal call!!
What is what Leslie?
Cybernan all my spring bulbs are coming up because the weather has been just cold enough to "set" them but not cold enough to keep them in the ground until spring. It's been a warm winter here too
I came within 23 words of completing the grid..not bad, considering
cyber - she was asking about the crazy co 8 word & what it meant!!
Angelsong Considering the short time you've been working on it 23 words left is admirable! :)
congrats Angel - this one was a doozie!!
Which state are you in, Missy?
that co8 word is siillyying the whole puzzle up
almost flip time!
You did better that me Angel. I still had 31 left.
Cybernan California...I live in a small town near Auburn in the foothills You?
1 min left...tick...tick...tick..... like New Years Eve all over again.
woo hoo - this one's done!!
