hey onyx
u6/33

f6/42
nite renny don't go
un6/36
erg I *hate* all those un-words
Good morning! :)
hi sprite!
Did I ever mention I hate K-words?
No. I'm certain you have never shared that with us.
(but at least these K words fell like kninepins)
Thought so. Glad I told you now :)
pi 7/52 and pi 8/70. Good day all!
hi mm...
Oh, thanks for those melissa - I did not know that was a word! or even a thing!
Hi again -- backrub done :) HI sprite!!! ((**HUG**)) And Griffums!! ((**HUG**))
there's lots of naughty stuff in that bottom right corner!
Hi gw! Not naughty, leslie...just unencumbered! :)
You know Griffs, I didn't either -- they came straight from my subconcious I think. Always weird when that happens!
well, usually i miss those so i had to point them out when i found them :)
subconscious, I mean -- it's choosy about when it wants to spell correctly :)
p7/52 p8/70
Hi, melissamay -- thanks for those, I agree, definitely an occurrence of your subconscious merging with the grid
okay..debs and melissa...can you now merge with us so we can pull out those longies too!
s8/55
sa 8/55 and that'll go in melissa's patch too
Hi all! *big hug for Woulf* How are you all doing?
vi6/30
Hi GreyWoulf! Hey, babs, I always think of the log as our collective unconscious. I usually couldn't finish a puzzle without it! And hey sprite, it's been a while since I've been on when you've been -- nice to see you.
Groovin' along here, sprite -- though tension is building -- Baby is due on Feb 3rd and still a ton of preparation to do :)
have 66 -- sure don't know where the other 87 are coming from!
Wow Griffs, thanks -- it's a flowery puzzle today, I like those.
cybernan...can we look inside your brain? How do you do these soooo fast!!
Hi melissa - I know, I have been away for a couple of days, stayed with a friend. Woulf: just realise that baby will arrive whether you are ready or not, in it's own time - and you will both have exactly what baby needs at exactly that very moment ;)
d7/46
I think 'poink' should be a word!
de 6/33 and 7/48
Anagram it, and it is, GW
I woulda gotten that one, Griff.... ok, probably not :)
BTW -- the fi4/11 is my real world last name ;)
finw?!
Got it!
LOL
Close, but not valid :)
ne 6/30 and 7/44
Took me a while to figure out why profain wasn't allowed.
u7/52
that's the one I'm after deb, haven't seen it yet
Jack's list is posted
A piece of timber untouched!!!! =un7
I got the same def for un 6/33, will look harder
GW in the 60s, Steve Allen created an alternative for your name... so people would say You're a FERN! ...instead of your name.. it was fun while it lasted
aha! thanks!
Oh, there it is...
Cheesenips -- to make matters worse, my first initial is A -- so I have no excuse -- I am A Fi4/11 and darn proud of it!! ;D
Middle name not Rat, I hope...
gw...have you gotten teased with that fi 4/11 all your life??
lol -- nope -- no middle name at all
good one griff!
GW FERN would only be 4/7 so your name is 57.1 percent better than FERN
Babs -- actually not much -- a little in elementary school, but I was always a bookworm and a nerd so they had plenty of ammunition without having to resort to my name :)
Hard to believe there are any nerds here
ROFL
*tee hee* cheesenips! *griff pushes glasses back up on nose*
:D
Nerd pride! Four-eyed pride!
I'll see that nerd and raise you a geek!
(griff rushes to grid to check how many word violations she just posted)
mm -- Four eyed pride put the image of a bunch of lions in glasses in my head :D
'Cool' people are soooo jealous of us. On some level.
Geek clique! Geek chic!
Yeah mab! We understand...VCR programming! and escrow!
Subconcious level, probably. Shouldn't 'FOR Woulf' be a word then, since we all are, and make a nice P7?
GreyWoulf, ha. I'd make a lousy predator, always bumping into my prey and having to excuse myself.
and amortization. Well, kind of. And we know how to use semi-colons and ellipses.
...and we actually USE them
...in the way they were intended, and not because we can't think of any other punctuation
Ywis!
God bless you!
(snort, snort) yeah!
I second that ywis...
Hear us ROAR!
Although maybe if I wasn't such a nerd, I wouldn't keep trying to put OVOID PIANO in this puzzle
And we don't HAVE to communicate in Leet Speek to speak in code because most people don't understand what we are saying when we speak normal English
We will punctuate you bloody! We will trap you in an ellipses and do you in with a sharp semicolon! Rrrow.
Ow Griffs, what a wonderful image that creates!
That's right GW! Nobody but nerds and geeks could be laughing as hard as we are right now!
Melissa hahahaha
It's not the most intimidating rap ever, I admit.
grammar rap!
I was intimidated by it.
Griff - too right! I am going to hurt myself because I don't want to wake the baby I am laughing so hard!!!
Schoolhouse Rock gone terribly, terribly awry.
i have no idea what any of that means, cuz i'm a jock.... he .... hehe.... hehehe... HEEHEEE HEEEE HEEEEEEEEEE OK YOU GOT ME I'M A NERD NERD STOP IT!!!
snort sprite!
Yay, I scared someone! I'm feeling very gangster now. *pushes glasses up nose and peers out menacingly*
Thank you for spelling gangster correctly.
melissamay PLEASE don't hit me with your dictionary!!!
Fear me, fear myopia! Ok, I'll stop now, I don't want to scare anyone to death.
Myopic Unite!
oops
*hides trembling behind Woulf's shoulders*
Least successful football team *ever*.
Griff - that's why nerds and geeks can't be rappers -- proper spelling and grammar is so second nature we can't avoid it! Remember when Oscar tried to get Felix to loosen up and be messy? Same sort of thing ;D
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
I'm myopic (literally only), and I'm astigmatic too!!!
I'm astigmatic too! (not to be confused with a stigmatic) That's another thing - we know how to spell optometrist and we know what he does! (and we know his name!)
LOL!
Okay, so reading the chat now I just have to know...who all wears glasses or maybe after our last 10 minutes shall I ask, who doesn't? I'll start...count me in for glasses? Am I finally in the majority? Oh, I hope so!
Glasses here.
And here. Both vision and shot.
myopic, astigmatic, and an optician here! So I can adjust glasses to fit without getting in trouble (unless I lose MY glasses ;D )
Lost my glasses, hate my contacts; now just bump into things alot.
Let's face it, we are terrifying. Astigmatic, asthmatic, fearsome four-eyes!
And we approve other people's mortgage loans!
LASIK 7 years ago, worked great for far.... well over 40 so need glasses for reading and computers
glasses here
I think it's more a contest to see who best qualifies for the legal definition of "blind." I can't see past my own nose, so I'm probably in the running. *increases tiny puzzle text another hair*
I love it. I now know there are all these kindred folks bumping around in the night with me and also great to know we're keeping folks like greywoulf in business! Thanks for the laughs and insight friends :)
Ah Cheesenips, I'm saving up for lasik. I've got a Lost/Castaway phobia that I'll someday be stranded without my glasses and become a sad example of Darwinism in action.
153 words / 4.67 / 2126 points today, and I need to get my kids to school. Happy hunting all of you and thanks for making me feel at home ;)
mm -- working at Lenscrafter's, it is amazing the number of people who come in claiming that they are blind as a bat without their glasses, and their prescription is usually less then one fifth as bad as mine -- and I am strong but not ridiculous in my myopia! People are just such wimps these days :\
Oooooooo, mm, last week I watched that Twilight Zone marathon, the one with Burgess Meredith with the coke-bottle glasses...and his awful fate
Oooh congrats dear sprite! Have a lovely day!
bye sprite!
So long, sprite -- great seeing you! (*HUG*)
melissamay, i had similar nightmares, also had positives like doing outdoor things like skiing & scuba more easily
Good day, Sprite!
Hugs for all, and a special one for Woulf. Good luck with the final preparations for the new cub!
Thanks, sprite -- I will keep you updated as things progress :)
Please do, my thoughts go with you and your dear lady :)
Hee, GreyWoulf, I know what you mean -- if someone's not past the 2000s they have no idea what it's like to be really nearsighted. And Griffs, thanks for reminding me to put the Burgess Meredith phobia on my list.
Night all... 56 words left for tomorrow... see you all then!
I have plenty more where that came from, mm...
bye nips!
G'Nite Cheesenips!
'Night cheese;.....
Night Cheesenips!
I was about the same age as the little schoolgirl running away from The Birds... I fretted over my little baby-blue eyeglasses for two weeks...
My other pet peeve are the people who wait until three days before a special day -- wedding, holiday, birthday, whatever, -- and then get upset because they will have to wait for their glasses because tehy want a special treatment on them which requires us to special order them!
Poor Griffs! I had the little baby pink glasses from 4th grade on -- with a little pink chain to keep me from losing them, just to fully round out the portrait of the Babbler as a Young Nerd.
Oh, I wanted the chain so bad! I had to settle for looking like Mrs. Beasley in blue.
After all -- you have only known about the date for HOW LONG? And you wait until the last minute to come in and get them?! It is not my fault that they have no concept of proper time management and planning ahead :)
Maddening, GW! Let them walk through their weddings as blind as we did! Figuratively AND literally!
Sorry about the rant there -- it just sorta slipped out ;)
Heh, GreyWoulf, there's nothing like those demanding sorts who insist that their lack of planning is your emergency.
GW, your real name is a very good name; it scans well and sounds like a filmmaker's name. The first name makes the second name work. Ok. I must be up early to drive Malka, one of my cats, to Conn. for thyroid tx (that will cure her). Now going to attempt sleep (my car's inspection sticker has lapsed and it has about the 20th hole in its muffler, and my driving license has expired, and I'm worried about Malka's feelings).
S'okay. Better out than in. I had no idea that my optician was such a pressure cooker of internalized frustration...
Wow, that's a long list, mab. Hope you can get some rest.
Good night, mab -- hope it's good news for your kitty.
mab -- I do hope you manage to get some good rest despite your stress -- It will do both you and Malka good -- I will send you positive thoughts for a safe journey and uneventful recovery for Malka (*Hug*)
Oh, yeah, don't you hate people that don't plan ahead? (HA)
Had to come back, just found this poem in my mailbox. It's from Victory Lee Schouten. It All Comes Back To Me Not willing to be vicious, I lost my voice. Not wanting to be foolish, I lost my courage. Averse to being led, I lost my way. Unwilling to be like them, I forgot my name. Remembering now is blessing enough. Waking up groggy is still waking up. From Wolf Love, Great Path Publishing, 2000
it's not the lack of planning I hate -- it's when they refuse to accept the responsibility for the consequences attendant to said lack of planning :)
On the right side of the 100, so calling it a day -- see you all tomorrow :)
Bye cybernan, sweet dreams!
Wow, sprite, that's lovely. Thank you. I think that's the proper note for me to go off to bed as well. Best of luck to the Nerd Posse in finishing!
sprite -- that hits very close to home with me, thanks for sharing (*hug*) G'Nite c-nan -- see you later, sleep well (*Hug*)
Thank you sprite! 'Night c-nan...
G'Nite mm -- (*Hug*) -- we nerds have to stick together ;)
un7/52
Hugs back, GreyWoulf -- you're so kind. Good night/day everyone!
'Night mm! Leave 'em where you can find 'em in the morning!
just tuned in!
Hey judierae! Nice to...see ya!
Hi judie -- trying to make a spectacle of yourself I see!
giggle......yup!
nyuk nyuk!
sun 6/36 is another one for melissa's patch
hail and hello to all....
hey blaze!
Hi Blaze
Hail and well met, Blaze! (*hug*)
Oh I just love coming here.... how goes this grid... I only have about five words so far...LOL
Its tricky, but not too bad -- once you get a few, others follow for a while --- it's just finding those linchpin words is the trick ;D
thanks GW finding those linch pins and the usual babble banter... I can hardly wait to go grocery shopping again and use the vi 5/18 word.... lovely
Oh, the pr 5/20 is my new favorite word
that is a good one....too
Isn't it just so suitable to describe some people?
and to think they may take it as a slam when it really is a compliment.... LOL
Hi everyone
hi hugs!
Hi Hugs (*HUG*)
Hello Hugs.... you are up late tonight....how are you??
I'm fine... how is everyone tonight?
I am good....starting sitting on an exercise ball at the computer for 30 mins at a time to improve my back.... it feels good but also is working on the muscles.... ouch
doing pretty good, Hugs :)
I was just reading your rants GW
It just so happens that I'm getting my new glasses tomorrow... finally.
Good for you, Hugs!
I should have gotten them Dec 29th, but they ordered bifocals instead of the new tri's.... :o( so I had to wait
<------meanwhile use these Hugs
LOL You know... they look like a really old pair of mine.
surely "vire" is a word?
Sorry to hear about the mixup -- but these things happen - unfortunately too often for anyone to be totally confident these days -- Even at my store :\
It is if YOU say it is, Dr G!
griff... I thought is was Dr. G too but it is Ray with the Dr. g icon looks good Ray
I think I need new glasses
Oh, I know these things happen.... I've been patient.
I'm hoping with my new ones, I'll be able to see the words better... they'll just pop out at me! *wink*
Was it a Lenscrafter's that you went to?
Hugs it is better to know that there was a mistake than for them to not know and give you the wrong prescription...... oh my.....
Not this time. I've always gone to them, but this last pair, the coating has been coming off and got scratched so badly (and I only use cloth) that it feels like I'm looking through a cloud all the time.
Blaze... it was me that noticed the error. If I hadn't, I would be walking around with the wrong glasses.
Hug - that is the kind of story that gives the entire industry a bad rep
Good for you.... my sister had the wrong Rx for a week before we made her go back..... it was the sudden lack of co-ordination that was the clue... LOL
But that would be me on a regular basis! :o)
I sometimes think we jump to conclusions about the "industry" what ever it is.... when it is usually a human error... a missing check mark or something much simpler...
Good morning...another day another babble puzzle!!
But with folks like us it don't matter 'cuz they got us by the eye-balls...
I think it is a misplaced faith in the perfection of machines -- too often people presume that just because something is done by computers it is superior to anything done by hand -- usually it is just faster
Whoops wrong icon....
And you know what they say about computers... GIGO
that sounds like the election debate tonight.....LOL
ok I'm all flowered up......good morning to all..
Hi tbear!!! (*Hug*)
Morning tb!
GW your wolfie has compromised and added flowers for mamabear in the background...very nice
tbear.... htat is one of my favorite flowers... the first on I had I thought was a "startrek" type plant... I thought I had rescued a green vine and then pop pop pop there were these lovely flowers... I had never seen one before...aare they in you back yard?
finally, under 20... huff, puff
Birds have some of the darndest names! :D
The h, gw? That's a fun one!
Yep!
I adore passion flower too, when I was young and living in Spain they were everywhere..here in the uk only in the past 10-15 years, there is a beautiful red hybrid which I'm going to find and grow...yes I have some in my courtyard. Did you know they have a religious meaning too,all the parts of the flower having relevence to Christ and the crucifixtion apparentely...they are weird looking and very otherworldly aren't they....
Down to the A's...
tbear yes they are... and I have read about the religious meaning too.... they are awesome... I love to sit with my tea outside and watch them Pop open
Might I have a clue for the sa 5/20 pretty please... thank you

My pleasure, tbear :)
And now, if no one wants any more clues, I will take my leave and go to my slumber :)

hug... did you finish the whole puzzle!!?
any one have the in5 please
got it
anyone help with the ho4/9 second one please?
Ho 4/9 the Captain in Peter Pan
Mr. Prez, if I'm right (and who knows?) it's something you crochet with or if you hit a golf ball & it curves away it is said to ho**
Good one, Dalmatian! My brain TOTALLY shut off when I tried to think of a clue. :)
aahhhhrrrgggg..... so obvious, yet so DUH!! thanks guys!
Your welcome, Mr. Prez.
Ah, but I thought the crochet clue was great! Interesting how words make us go in different directions.
hi again! can I get a clue for fi6 please (sure, it's right infront of my nose but am stumped) ;)
Hope you haven't been waiting long, Mr. Prez. I'm hopping back & forth between this & a crossword. A fish is said to be fi**** because it has these things to propel itself through water.
Dalmatian, the funny thing is I don't crochet at all! Yet that's the first thing I thought of. I do love to see the variety of clues.
queen, you rock! another totally easy word lost in the vision blur of babble again!
Happens ALL the time, Mr. Prez. :)
oh, I can 'see' the really screwy sa8 word, but not the easy peasy words!!
hi, may I have a clue for said sa8 please....
morning all :)
Good morning, Mia Metro. Sorry, Sunny09, I'm not there yet. :(
Sunny - Griffum gave a great clue at 2:37 an Grey Woulf helped more with a clue at 2:45
Queen, it's all good. plenty more to look for yet... thought i'd get the biggies out of the way first.
thanks dalmation, will look and see.
ok, another clue is needed please de7 (TYIA)
I haven't got the first de6/33 or the following de7/48 if anyone has a clue please!!
Hi to every 1 who are playin BABBLE!!!
just got them!!
care to give out the clues mr pres, i don't have them either!
Any chance of a clue then Mr P?
is anyone else finding todays puzzle quite hard?
miametro, yup but thought it was just my lack of sleep! have been blessed with 4 mth old who doesn't seem to need any.... :)
i'm about a 3rd of the way there, but i might have to break out the list soon!
de6 and de7 are an extention of de5/20 & de6/33 (second one) add another identical vowel after the first vowel and then plural it!
Okay, I am officially hooked, but glad to know I am not alone. Good mornin'.
i don't have the de 5 :/
did that all make sense? or should I review...
I have ONE MORE to find.... then I am finished!!
de5 - de + to become pale then plural for the de6 then follow the past clue for the de6 & de7 follow on
oh, what silly words! lol
Mr. Pres what great clues - thanks for finishing up that group of words!!!!!
can I please have a clue aw5/20
I got it!
Mr. Prez, it's an anagram of the de5 you were just talking about. Think of a shady cover. Past tense.
Yeah!! That means you are done?
I FINISHED!! YES, I DID give myself *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* F I R E W O R K S *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Congrats, Mr. Prez. Hail to the Chief!! LOL. Well done!
congrats mr president!
Ok, happy happy joy joy la ♪ la ♪ la ♪ de ♪ da ♪ la ♪ la ♪ la ♪ de ♪ da ♪ I will hang about and give clues if you need them
some clues for the v's and k's would be good mr pres, just can't get my head round them today

dalmatian, I see you are hot on the player rankings! I am trying to catch up with you guys but you keep on keeping on!!
I was much higher at one point. Really have no idea how the rankings are really rated - even after reading the explanation. But, I just try to improve my skills and it is great fun!
Good morning everyone.
an 4/4 should be easy, but I can't find it.
One of the things I wonder is the time needed to complete the puzzle calculated into the rankings?
ja - think about what we breathe
I just keep on plodding along and complete the puzzles that I start... don't understand the ranking either! Hi eva.
Some of these players are fantastic! They finish puzzles before I have even reached the middle of the puzzle. But, I must say I am starting to pick up on more of the words that are used over and over in grids. It really is a great brain exercise.
Thanks. Onward.
as it is nearly tomorrow here... Iam going to load my scenic pic icon for the theme... brb
ok, I am just about on my last leg... any more clues before I go?
I have one word let. The se 6/18 - the first one. Any help?

Do you have a melon with that name? We don't.
Good morning Elena! I made another try at the photos this morning, but couldn't get it to work. What we need is a resident 13 year old.
Eva, it's also called a honey dew melon : )

now have to get the last 3 p's. Haven't gone to Brandyjack's stats yet. Too intense for this early in the morning.

ok...considering it's jan and the state of the bank balance....and you hun?
know the feeling, i'm good thanks, can't wait till the weekend!!!
it's only tuesday!!
i know!!!!
mornin all!
hi shorty
nice roses..shorty
thanks they were my dads favorite
got to go on a trek to have a cig, back in a while.
Love everyones icons, all very pretty!
Mornin' all. Looks Like I accidentally fit in today.
LOL Darleen
Hi All, I knew If I kept my icon, a flower theme would arrive and it did. I love the color of the periwinkle flower and it is so sweet to look at. I also just like the sound of the word.
and good morning
I just love ALL flowers. I don't think there's a one I don't like.
hello room
Mornin' Jeff.
I have returneth with hyacinth in honour of my late grandmother......
periwinkle you have seen the little white periwinkle, haven't you?
tbear, no I haven't
morning!
morning, angelsong!
todays a toughie for me, what with all the stinkin vowels!
Peri...they are lovely...slower growing,not so invasive,smaller leaved and flowers...you'll love them too!
may hafta resort to babblers anon earlier than usual! or even worse, i may hafta do REAL WORK...heh
tbear, I will look for them, although I do love the color periwinkle
roses and tulips are my favorite flowers
I love all flowers but especially love the stargazer lilly.
Just noticed in the back log Lola has chosen an appropriate South African Protea...they are truly gorgeous....
Anyone got a clue, please for the de5...it's driving me nuts
De + 1st 3 letters of a magical stick
all 5 letters circle the s and then use the s to make a 6.
thx evanadine....sitting here stupified as to what a magic sticks called....yep yep got it.....need sustainance...beef/salad sarnie coming up..
to make a 6/7 combo double the 1st vowel
thanks fmitch -- didnt have the double-vowel version!
Thx Fmitch too...
: )
any help with the Vs?
glass of wine eva?
ahh, thanks. always forget that babbles "foreign words" rule is shaky at best...heh
in that case we should be allowed a portuguese glass of wine with a 'h' in it......
vi5 think it is french for meat. 6 is pl.
Good morning, all!
mornin jera!
How goes the grid today? Tough??
well, lotsa vowels, which make it tough, at least for me...
It's a lot better than yesterdays one Jera
What's all this about french meat??? Can't we pick a language & stick with it?
Jera, your flowers are lovely this morning.
french meat? huh? man, i should start reading back through the log sometime...heh
Hi everyone:)
another way for the vi5 is carry on diagonally in the grid till you cant go any further and then diagonal down to the bottom row.
Okay, I have just spent 20 minutes trying to find this lovely picture I took of roses I pulled out of my garden when we lived in Omaha, but I can't find it, so I'm just sticking with my original. Morning all!!!
Hi sis, didn't see you come in! Hi Jen
Hi Sis.... how are ya??
Thanks, Angelsong... i would have preferred a more natural looking bouquet, but I really wanted carnations, & this was the best jpg I could find of them.
It can be very enlightening, evanadine!
good thanks and have finished grid too so doubly smiley
What-ho, everyone!!!!! Seeing as today's theme is flowers, I've decided to go with a little bit of culture....
One of my favorites, movieman!
ok, 70 words to go... better take a babble-break and go get some work done! back later all!
Is anyone else having trouble with BabAnon today?
Yup, I am Jera
Well done you!!!! I still don`t know wether to bother starting it!!! Hi Movieman :)
This will not be a good Babble day without The List... I get easily confused... (even more important than the hints!)
movieman....very up-market..
Hi TBear :)
{{{Jen}} Wanna try for coffee again today? I'm feeling much better & want to avoid housework...
Thx for the vi clues...I now have a beef sarnie with french mustard.....!!
Oops, lopsided hug... :D
I can't seem to access b-anon either.......(I wonder what the problem is)......
hiya Lotti....glad to see yhe back of the Aunt tag...lol
Sure, but we are motivating rather slowly today as Ethan just wok up about 30 minutes ago. :)
LOL.....What do ya want to be????? Cuz!!!!
That's fine... I was thinking after lunch anyway... I need to at least sweep & mop before I run away from home...
You wanna say 1:30? Fair Oaks Mall Starbucks?
Nothing much Lotti....Queen Bear'll do...looks around guiltily for Mamabear...only kidding (Ithink) bearfriend will do as in girlfriend........
Sounds great! I'll get to meet your son, right?
Yup! He'll be there as well.
Ok ((((Bearfriend)))) :D
Yep...I like that.... :)
Sounds great... what entrance would you suggest I use? Can you see Starbucks from the outside?
if you guys ever wanna trek out to the chinatown starbucks, i can probably escape for a latte!
Chinatown? I'm thinking SanFrancisco for some reason...?
Hey, you know what would be fun? Get together at an internet cafe & take over all the computers, then go for coffee, LOL!
Hmmm, no clue. I've only been there once. Starbucks in like smack in the middle of the mall, in a stand alone stall. Eva... I'd love to get into DC! I was thinking about doing a museum or 2 with my son sometime soon.
Jera and Jen,I hope you're heading out to meet in better weather conditions than here at the mo.....drizzle,drizzle,drizzle ....have one for us here in miserable UK
heh, im in DC every day! ;)
Lovely day here in Virginia... 40's & relatively sunny... supposed to cloud up tomorrow, though...
I'm sorry, evanadine, I had the totally wrong chinatown... didna know there was one in DC (no surprise, though... DC has everything)...
Yeah have a couple.....the wind is wild and the rain won`t stop although it does fade to fine drizzle occasionally in my part of the UK :(
Eva, is it near the MCI Center?
Jen, I'll be wearing a black T-shirt & jeans... short fat lady with a cane! ;>
right by there! its on the corner of 7th and H
Oh & glasses, I always forget to mention I wear glasses, but that is a good clue...
I was trying to figure out what I was going to wear today but brain isn't working :). Hmmm, jeans and a lime green argyle sweater.
TBear, aren`t you glad our streets have names?? ( even if some of them are stupid!!!)
hi everyone! i cannot get to EZ board, so i'd appreciate a word total for the letter a, d, and e please?
lotti, hows macadam, havent seen her on line for ages?
Actually tbear, sometimes the letters and numbers of streets helps because that way you know if you are going the right way and the numbers get higher or lower. One thing I hate in Virginia is that all roads have like 5 names and you never know when it's going to switch!
There's not much more I can do without a list... getting frustrating... I am sooo spoiled!
She`s loads better now!! I`ve been out to lunch with her today :) She may be back on later!!
Oops, sorry I meant lotti! :)
That happened to me one time when i was lost, Jen... I found a road with a name I knew & hurrah! we're not lost! I even knew we were heading in the right direction (as the crow flies, at least) since I have a compass in my car... then the road just freakin' ended!!
Hi Temple :) I see Jen..... Our country isn`t big enough to warrant that, so we just get the names!! :) LOL
temple - there are 12 a's, 9 d's & 3 e's....
72TO a-12, d-9, e-3 lotti, glad to hear she is feeling better.
jera tell me what you need I bought the list up earlier and still have it
LOL... I mistyped a word I was trying to spell & accidently found another one...
I need brandyjack's last list, second letter & word length/value... that's the only thing that keeps me straight...
We got a car GPS for Christmas, so I feel much more oriented now! :)
The a-list or the W's would be great... start at one end or the other...
wa 4/ 11 wa 5/ 24 wa 4/ 8 wa 5/ 18 wa 4/ 8 wa 4/ 9 wa 5/ 20 wa 6/ 30 wa 4/ 8 we 4/ 9 we 4/ 9 we 5/ 20 we 4/ 8 we 4/ 8 we 4/ 8 we 4/ 8
Jera I can't do much but if you tell me what letter you're looking for I'll type the list for you....as in 'e's
Jen, if it's in the middle of the store, I might just get a wheelchair... the cane helps but it's painful to walk long distances... can you check those out at the information booth?
periwinkle are you still here
from my years working in DC, ive actually found it easier + easier to figure out... theres mainly letters, numbers, and states with a few other random ones tossed in there. no matter what direction youre going in, youre bound to hit a letter or number, so as long as you know which quadrant of the city youre in, you can figure out where youre going... now, NYC on the other hand confuses me cause their streets are all numbered!!
Yeah, according to the web site, they do have wheelchairs available.
Hey guys. Is Babbler's Anonomous down? Or is just me
I never go anywhere without a map or three... there are some scarey places to get lost in my neck of the woods... Thanks, FMitch! I only have 2 to go I just realized!
Not just you, fit1... :(
Guys...we get things like Duck Pond Avenue....in the middle of a city without a quack quack in sight.... I live on High Street, which is a piddly little side street far from the main drag.....Numbers aren't character tho are they??
Thanks Jera. I have come to rely on that sooooo much for the second letter stats
When I used to visit hubby at the Navy Yard, I never went at night! BIG homeless shelter right across the street!
I'm at the website, too... can't find starbucks...
Me, too fit1... I was just remarking how spoiled I am...
I live on Matthew Grove.....whichever Matthew it is/was!!!!!
It's under food specialty, but I can't seem to pull it up on the map... I do know it's on the 1st floor tho.
anyone care to assist me with the wa6/30 plz.....
Done with W's... how about a U list, please?
Just got that one, movieman... think more pale...
What is it near, jen? I can't handle wandering around... it makes me cranky... ;>
Right....school run in a mo, so i`d best be off!! Bye all :) (((FMitch))) (((TBear)))
un 4/ 5 un 5/ 12 un 6/ 36 un 4/ 6 un 5/ 14 un 7/ 52 un 6/ 33 un 6/ 21 un 6/ 21 un 5/ 20 un 6/ 33 us 4/ 6

Lotti......hasta later
Later, lotti!!
Bye lotti! I just called them... they are right next to the customer service desk which I think it would be easiest going in through JC PEnney
You're a peach, jen!!
next time, you can just come over to my house... we have a starbucks right across the street!
We could do that instead if you want. I don't have anything to be at home for specifically, so we can make our way south if it would be easier on you.
Serously? I hate to make you do all the travelling, but that would be so much easier for me than doing a mall...
NOt a prob!! E-mail with with directions to your place!
Oh wow... thanks... no fighting over the check, then... my treat!
How 'bout a list of the v's now......I'm only missing one and it just won't come.....
Im guessing that you are missing the vi5/16 and is the last of the 4 v's
I also need cluez for the 8's.....you know how tricky I find the long words....
hey evanadine, how u doing? southern MD here!@
Jen, just sent you an e-mail...
Cool I'll go check it out.
I'm looking for U words & keep finding E words... oh well, finding words is finding words...
Okay, everyone within 30 miles of Dc, raise your hand...
<<raises hand>>
Seriously, we need to have a Babble convention on this side of the pond... so many BritBabblers have been getting together...
Did evanadine leave?
Oh & jen... the starbucks is in the shopping center across the street from my house... I won't be home, I'll be waiting for you there...
Haven't heard a peep out of her in a while. I just looked up the Starbucks on your road... see you there at 1:30!
I also need cluez for the 8's.....you know how tricky I find the long words....
im here, im here, sorry.... was getting some work done...hehe
Jen... my son wants to know where you found your icon and what it might mean and who is it??? thanks
Sounds great... I better get some work done to warrant my break... later, hon! Bye, all... back later to finish (I hope)!
Sorry, movieman... will try to help before I go...
pi8/70 = not a needle, but sharp metal thing + what you pull out of garden (unwanted)
sa8 = sa4/4 + fo4/7... no idea what it means...
Gotta get to work so I deserve my break later... bye all! (hope I helped, movieman)
Christa, it's the mascot of the Florida State University Seminoles, my alma mater. Actually, it's Chief Osceola. :)
Def. for the sa8= A Eurasian plant (Onobrychis viciifolia) having pinnately compound leaves and pink or white flowers, often grown as a forage crop.
Good morning!
Afternoon, harpjane!!!!
morning everyone!
evidently Babbler's Anonymous is down?
'Fraid so Harp, it's been down for a while now.
Hiya everyone. Hope it wasn't the 'groanworthy' jokes I put in there yesterday that's closed BabAnon!:-(
YIkes! My fingers were on the wrong row when I typed "oria" which turns out to NOT be a word. However, I typed a word I have never heard of, which was accepetd. Thank you BabbleGods.
hi everyone!
Anyone care to help me with my last 7....? I already have the de7, the pi7 & the un7.... Gracias.....

is Babblers Anonymous down?
Ah, but does anyone have the second letter count? I desperately miss it :)
there can not be 12 u words in this puzzle, where are they hiding and why are they hiding from me?
There are indeed 12 u words. That I have :)
I posted a list of the u's at 08.51, hopefully that will help
I have the 2 letter list from last night -- give me a minute and I will post it.

Good morning! I'm stuck on the pi's and need some help. Any clues/hints for po 7/52?
OOPS!!! I mean pi 7/52 (Blush, blush)
Ren - take the fuse out of the lamp tonight.
pi7/52 & its plural p8 - Any of various North American perennial plants of the genus Lechea, having narrow leaves and numerous small flowers.
That's not going to help me any. Having a slow morning. Any other EASIER clue/hint?
afternoon all!
pi 7 & 8: compound word starting with what you wear on your lapel + what you don't want in you garden
pi7 = sharp point (3 letters) + plant you don't want in the garden (4 letters) and then add s for pl.
great minds c-nan!

i can't get Babbler's anon to open. could someone please tell me how many s, t, u, v and w there are?

hello everyone!
An heroic effort, Cybernan!
anyone care to help me with the in6's.... gracias.....
good morning
thanks cybernan!!!!! *mmmwwwaaaaahhhhh*
Back again. Any help with the first two in 6/21???
Cybernan, TY..TY..TY!! I finished, just in time to fix my sweetie's lunch. I'm really not sure I would have finished w/out your 2 letter list. I'll check back and see if any1 needs help after I feed the man.
Don't know how the rest of you feel, but there is one icon here that I find objectionable.
time to change outfits -- brb!
thanx cybernan, unfortuanately my weak little mind does not do as well w/o the second letters. thanx again
the profile isn't much better.
here we are! much brighter now!! :D
2nd in6 = in + d4/5 something you dont like to get on your car perhaps?
I agree the icon is VERY offensive!
cyber. Once again let me thank you for making my job so much easier on this puzzle :)
1st in6 also builds from a d4/5 that means a sandy tract or dune by the seashore
fmitch -- if that's the 2nd in -- what's the first?
ok, if it takes the hawaiian goose, why wont it take hawaiian geese??
Thanx fmitch. For both.... And I agree w/you all about the icon. I'm not prudish, but this is inappropriate....
daddy, could you possibly change your icon? I'd appreciate it
evanadine... yes very frustrating. but at least there are many flower words to go with todays theme. weird flower words though.
not sure which one you guys are talking about, but if you find something offensive, send a message to Dr God about it
evan, the icon is in the previous 50 messages. It's very obvious
Any help with the se 6/18?
i guess its kinda of an age/location thing... i certainly wouldnt have that icon for my own, but i dont find it offensive either...just kinda stupid...heh
anywho, i think its about my lunchtime, so im gonna go see what i can find. be back in a bit! :)
se6/18 - Mack Se**** directed old comedy films
need help with the se5/10 now...... gracias.....
hey everyone. back for another bash at it...only 82 to find.. gah.
movieman -- add a vowel to the se 4/4
de 6 & 7 combo, please?
de 5/20, double the vowel then pluralise
still stuck on the se6, don't know that director!
miametro: sounds like the highest house of government in Canada and the US
Sounds a bit like US parliament se + 2xconsonant+vowel+consonant. ...and on that note I must dash, see you all anon.
miametro: that se6 sounds kinda like part of our gov't, part of the legislative branch!
thanks guys :)
de 6/33 (first one) and the de 7?
cybernan, do you have the de 5/20? de + to look pale.
mia -- it is the first de 6/33 that I'm looking for (following the de 4/5 and second in the list)
hello everyone - did smaller ever clue that ne7/44?
yeah, if you double the first vowel of the de 5/20 you'll get it, then pluralise THAT. they're very similar words :)
anyone have a clue for the fo/16?
there was a clue a while ago, temple --- someone who is more ne 6/30, and both based on ne 4/8
Make an adjective out of ne 4/8 to get ne 6/30 then make it a comparative for the ne7/44
thanks, mia
ty i will look for it : )
ah haz - got it striaght away!
IN 5 & both IN 6 words? Thanks
Good - glad the clue worked.
Done and done..... Thanks to all who have assisted me today, and I will be back on the morrow!!!!! Gotta go, my stir-fry's getting cold!!!!! Byyyyyyeeeeeee!!!!!
sorry, the fo 5/16....
bye, movieman!
Temple-Owl.... hi! i got it by accident and was just commenting on the flagrant silliness of it.
Plural of fo4/7 fo plus preposition to make a word meaning to thrust
I'm down to my very last word and can't find/figure it. ANy help with the un 7/52?
it is silly - but a word none the less! gotta go ! be back tonight! happy babbling!
It's another way of saying un6/33
69 words to go... i think i've done well enough on my own, time to look at the list!
Thanx Haz. I'm done and out of here. So much to do today. See you all tomorrow
hey haz - i think we have a mind meld - had neith un and got both fro your clue!!!!
Bye, Nonny - glad to help Temple Owl!
thanks haz! silly words running amuk today
If it's silly words you want, babble is the website to visit.
anyone have a clue for one of the in 6/21? I have the one that means to "push in"
The other in6/21 uses a de 4/5 - anagram of need
Sorry - I've posted a word.....
got it...thanks!
na 4/4? -- I know it's probably staring me in the face!
It's a favourite babble word - lots of vowels.
any clues for the un 6/33?
got my lunch, and its chinese and yummy!! :D
un 6 /33 - wood that hasn't been cut up is un****
un 6/33: not cut up un 6/33: not stitched
thanks again guys :)
evanidine- that's ironic, i'm talking to a guy from bejing right now. he's looking up english words as we speak, so i'm waiting.
Hi guys
hi yoink! poppies? hehehe
Thanks, Haz -- thought I'd monkey typed everything -- obviously not! -- have it now.
Hi Smaller, wondered if you'd notice :D
I think it's that Hawaiian goose, isn't it?
yoink, you silly hawaiian goose!
Honk honk
no, the hawwaiian goose the the repetitive NE :)
So is the na the unit of currency? I know it's not the Sicilian volcano or the Greek cheese or the French needlcase.
Yoink used a woooooord, yoin used a woooooord! hee hee hee!
needlecase
Oh Goddammit, it's Smaller's fault
the definition points you to another word which says "The inner room or sanctuary of an ancient Greek or Roman temple, in which the statue of the god was situated"
hey! where's the chivalry yoink! shame on you! blaming a girl! the injustice!
sa 8, please?
Sa 4/4 + Fo 4/7
sa8- Eurasian plant (Onobrychis viciifolia) having pinnately compound leaves and pink or white flowers, often grown as a forage crop
Ahh, chivalry schmivalry
boys seem to be more potty-mouthed today than we girls
haz -- can you tell me how long the greek cheese and volcano N-words are?
You are joking, aren't you?
i dont think i have them...are they just 4-letter ones?
I'm sorry, Eva - it was just me being sarcastic. Feta, etna and etui appear so regularly in the grid that they seem to be fixtures. They are not here today, however!
oh...lol...ive got food coma, so im just not reading into the sarcasm....haha im still missing 2 Ns then...hehe
yes haz but the infamous french no4 word is there again
I'm also missing 2 n's but I'm taking a break now for food.
Can I get a lead on any of the V's? Still have zero...
enjoy!
you're right, Trotters, it is!
bunny -- think wine :)
Bunny - vi plus an 4/5 and its singular.
ty, sorry eva, know nothing about wine, tequila however.....
Well, not getting very far, I think I'll leave it again for now, bye
actor V** diesel, plus a vowel on the end
su 6/36?
brightest star in the sky + morning moisture
Has anon been down all day? Can get it up.
vi 5/16, please?
No snickering...
MTV used to play the occasional music Vi*** -- then change the center letter
Thank you. We have those in Montana (su6) but I have never heard of them. Ah, my limited life experiences!
thanks eva, but don't watch mtv! -- the generation gap again?
heh....well, a VCR plays Vi*** casettes -- then, change the center letter. :)
think vhs or vi*** rental store
anyone have a clue for pi 5/20?
2 letter word lists posted between 10:38 and 11:09
k, ty nan
Much thanks, bunny *as I dance across the finish line*
JJ55 - Pi... slang term for a communist.
5/20 ending in a vowel
Thank you, too, Eva -- just happened to see bunny's clue first.
Sorry
thanks Judi!
Just change it, please, daddy
sorry pi 5/20 ends in vowel
here goes nothing
sorry, daddy, made that last comment before refreshing.
is southern pride ok?
Any one want a clue before I sign out?
daddy, just be you. you'll find your spot. thanks for acknowledging the concerns though. that alone means the world, and is appreciated.
first de633 and the de7/48?
Oh, dear, Jeff. I think your confederate flag may offend some babblers, especially if they are babblers of color. What do you think?
need a clue for ho6/24 plz! thanks!
de 6/33 & 7: same as de 5/20 & 6 with first vowel doubled
ho 6/24: ho + circle + edgar allan
thanks cyber!
mab, i thought the same thing too, but then i felt bad that we were knocking everything daddy did today.
thanks cyber!
got ya cybernan
I just got here, but it's a pretty powerful image. Your icon is beautiful, smaller. Perhaps Jeff would like to join in on the flower theme. Jeff?
wow, i think i fell asleep with my eyes open there...hehe
lots of pretty southern flowers!
anyone got hints for the Os or i in the 2nd row? they have been taunting me all day!
daddy, interesting new icon. what is it?
oops! bye yoink!!!!
ok, make that just the i from the 2nd row -- any hints for those 2 words?
very offensive icon again! Spotted your earlier one daddy! are you telling us your homophobic or gay? I think we have a pro troll people
Smaller -- it seems that Daddy doesn't like me objecting to his first icon and didn't see my apology regarding the second -------- he is now calling me a bitch. It is a childish attitude that I would like to see stopped, simply because we do have one child and a few teens playing the game, and does not set a good example.
*confused* doesnt see any messages on here from daddy calling anyone names...
Cybernan how did I call you anything?
Hi guys! : ) evaN, one sounds like the past tense of opp of out, and the in4 think the I in IT : )
thanks lola!! *slaps self with Technology fish*
Evanadine, he's changing icons all the time
Oh evaN, I hope you unplugged it first! : )
hrmmm...i can see the icon changes (my computer isnt refreshing well) so i guess i cant comment on that...
cant* see, i meant
Unless anyone else needs a clue, I will be on my way.
i'm confused too. i think i too strongly wanted to believe he was trying to be civil. am i wrong?
of course lola -- who likes their fishes to be plugged in?
any clues on the oi? i have the piggy one... thanks!
I must say, I don't really understand the new icon, Jeff, but I do find it less offensive than the previous image. Feel free to attempt some flowers - they're pretty and soothing. After all, this is a game site; think fun.
efor - there is only one oi
if someone does see something really bad, perhaps you could take a screen shot + send it off to Dr God?
Mab -- when the most recent icon was posted -- the comment was directed at me.
oops! sorry about that! i meant the or
OR + another name for a tack
or + what you wear on your lapel
and i just guessed, somehow. yay! o's are done!
thanks eva!
Are you finished, eva?
nah, still got 40 words left to go here... but i dont worry too much about finishing, i just play to keep myself occupied at work...hehe
lol - what do you do, besides babble, that is
*Tuesday tackles Evanadine* : D Hi all - just starting so it's SpeedBabble for me : )
How do you like dem apples!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i work for a government contractor...what i do depends on who you ask...heh... but shortest possible answer is that i write and edit summaries of government reports and im generally in charge of the quality control for the information that goes into our database...
Hi Anj -- you won't find it too tough! Bab anon is down, but 2 letter list is posted starting at 10:38
Cheers Cyber - it's been one of those days then... ?
Jeff - beautiful.
Thanks Mab, you are great.
Hey babe (((xxx))) Thanks for train in4/7, will check out that site after dinner : )
thank you, daddy -- great improvement!!!!
awww! Thanks daddy! And excellent tact and directness to you babblers in voicing your opinions.
Hi Lo : ) (((xx))) That's not a bad site although I can't say for sure if it's deffo the cheapest option...
hiya anj! *grabs anj and pulls him into a Tuesday Tussle*
jeff wants into the tuesday tussle
Thank you everyone -- see you at the flip.
jeff -- youre in camp springs? not far from where i grew up. :)
*wrestles EvaN into the custard tub* Hey E, happy day??
bye cybernan, thank you for your help today
Evandine I am at Andrews Air Force base you live near here now?
ooh, custard! *momentarily forget about anj and grabs a spoon* nothing remarkable, but not a bad one. actually had a good class last night with my first class, which is rare. lost a student in my last one though, which was a bummer.
grew up in Upper Marlboro. live in Crofton now.
oo-eer... just entered 10 words on the bounce without getting an 'Oops...' When is this one going to bite??
Hi all, how do you like my Tinkerbell flowers?
what do you do in the air force, jeff?
itll bite when you get to the Os, i's, and Vs....hehe
oooo pretty! and so tinkerbelly
Evenadine, thats cool. I am a govt contractor too, just like you. cant beat govt work......easy money!
Hi Schro' : ) EvaN, er, lost a student?? Misplaced or hoofed out?
Pretty Schroe. Very fairy-like.
work on air force helicopters, but i was never in the air force..... dont see how these people do it. i was in the real military
USMC!!!
Thanks, just popping in for a bit. Lots of good clues in the log only 88 left.....
ne 4/4 anyone? Its driving me nuts!
Have to go, dinner's ready. See you later : )
jeff -- ill let you know in a year if i still have a job -- our contract is up for rebid...heh anj -- kinda complicated, but basically, i have her for jazz. after that, she is in the senior hip-hop class. i guess those kids were teasing her for being younger + she was gonna drop out entirely, but instead, they moved her to the junior hip-hop class, which happens to be at the same time as my jazz class, so i lost her. stupid kids. :/
I am out. time to go home. love these hours!
Bummer EvaN. Peer pressure sucks at that age... : /
DSP -- the Ne 4 is a repetitive word for a hawaiian goose.
my contract is good thru 2011, then we re-bid to get it again
i was *thisclose* to having a not-so-nice talk with that other class even though they werent my students...cause someone needs ot let them know thats just not cool. but i decided to keep my compsure instead...
Thanks evanadine
holla at a playa tommorow baby!!! luv
...sounds like a Fonz moment EvaN ; ) lol
not in love with what i do anyway, so one way or another, i need to find myself a new job sometime in the near future...been here too long + im too bored.
*thumbs up to anj* ayeeee
so, you have an opening in your class, evana? (hint hint)
sure do mab! but i work those girls hard! i dont care if its a level 1 class, everyone breaks a sweat!
EvaN, kids seem to get mean at a certain age. I have had to talk to several over the years at our studio.
The truth is, evana, I don't think I'm capable of learning tap. It's so fast. And I'm so slow....
tell me about it schroeder... they werent even MY class, so i kinda didnt really have a right to yell at them. but their behavior impacted 3 different classes, since we have to alter the routines they were learning. *steams*
lucky for you, mab, this is a jazz class. :)
My nine year old is having so many problems at school, i'm thinking of pulling her out of that school, I don't think it's the age, I think it's particular children....
se 5/18?
But it would be great to have a class for semi-old people like me.
course, its faster than any tap class i would teach...heh
our studio offers adult tap + ballet classes over the summer, but most of them dont wanna stick around during the reagular season...
Oh Mab, I have the perfect class for you!!! My Wed. class has ages from 30-55 and they have a blast.
hi everyone!
Evana and Schro, it's so great that you are dancers -- I so want to be a real dancer. I love jazz and modern classes. Gave up on ballet long long long ago.
Hi Sam, pretty flower!!
id love to take some kinda ballroom class...or swing...or bellydancing....ooh, or hula! something thats very different from the kinda dancing ive done all my life....
Hi Sam!
having a hard time with aw 5/20, any clues?
Belly dancing would really be fun.
Bunny, sign of fatigue...knock off the Y
oh god back in an hour or so can't find any time today!
bunny -- something you find over a doorway is an Aw****...this is a past-tense version
bunny, past tense of the first three letters of the shade that hangs over windows on the outside of buildings.
ty
wa 6/30 ?
I take it we are on a flower day!
phases of the moon...wax and Wa** -- but more so
...that word sorta sums up Enable : /
heh, sure does anj. like my question earlier -- why does it accept the hawaiian goose, but not hawaiian geese?
How was your day, Anj?
...or ex-geese : / Hi Mab. It was mostly Tuesday, with a touch of Monday although it tasted like Thursday afternoon as well... : ) How about you?? : D
Drove my cat to Connecticut (from Mass) for a holiday. Typical day. Thought you sounded tired or discouraged or disenchanted, something like that.
Mab, i'm ok thanks...a little off the pace but I think that's just 2006 kicking in. : ) Cat holiday??
heh, my cats holiday is when i actually let them into my bedroom...
Not much of a holiday, really. She's getting a quite benign radiation treatment for hyperthyroidism. She must stay for three days or until she no longer glows in the dark. Over 99 percent cure rate, no side effects. Just an overwhelming feeling of abandonment by her mummy. Aren't you sorry you asked...
ooh, im so sorry mab. :(
ok, so is it strange that i am the one in the office heading up the donation-collection and gift-shopping for my ex-BFs surprise baby shower? hehe
Sorry to hear that Mab : ( I hope she pulls through OK...or at least not too luminescent at night ; )
Mab, at least when she comes home finanlly she will be well.
Actually, I feel lucky the tx is available. Meds are toxic and no tx means she dies. So a cure is fabulous. But thank you for so kindly empathizing. I felt terrible leaving her there.
EvaN...buy a drum kit : D
need clue on the de 5/20 & de 6/33 combo before I go back to work.... anybody? pleeeeeez?
Thanks guys. She'll be fine I think. My vet had her cat treated at this clinic and everything went beautifully.
tempting anj. :)
sorry about your cat troubles...... I hope she will be all better.... she knows you love her!! (him?)
Oooo, calla lilies....reminds me of Katherine Hepburn. Very pretty.
Mama, it's the Babblefave indian governor I think... de plus w3 for pale. Then whack it with the plural fish : )
Her. Malka, my little ginger tabby queen. My Sophie, the other cat gets a holiday too, as she and Malka have hated each other for the past ten years.
Must grab something to eat, be back later..... Hi mamabear, hope your new year work schedule is a little easier...
thanks anj. sneaky - had the combo with the double vowel.... who woulda thunk it would work with a single too...... only in Babbleland!!!! see yas all later!!!
hi schroeder - it is... but now I am pursuing a possible job change.... and my hubby and I are at major odds right now. My life is in turmoil.
Mab, a friend of mine has just got a couple of cats after years of looking after his sisters... as he put it: "Two tabby cats have just deigned to allow me to cater to their every whim for the next 15 years" lol! : )
mamabear - if you are still here - hang in there! see you tonight!
That's so true! And I love catering to their every whim.
yes temple... just at the "one more word" phase... thanks.
I'm back! : D Anj, the cheapest I can find is £24.40 and £9 (both singles)... still a lot cheaper than the first quote though! : )
*lola gives mamabear a big hug ((((x))))*
Whoa babe, let me follow up on that... : / I saw a return for £19 for the Posh/Brum leg... BiaM *kerpow!*
Try this: http://www.thetrainline .com/Buy_Tickets/Matrix/ displ ay_matrix.asp?expand=&T2ID= 95 21_2006110201221 ...mind the gaps now! lol : ) It's the 9:54 train : )
hey anj, do you have song-downloading abilities?
Thanks babe, but I can't make it from here to station by 10, has to be the 11 one I'm afraid. Besides, the single at 10 is only £6 cheaper anyway : (
...most computers have that EvaN ; )
*Anj realises he has 11 of the 12 As with the lost* *Anj faints*
yeah, well, i meant do you belong to any of those sites or whatever...
Lo, get the return at £24.90 then : ) It's the 10:54 train
Babe, you need to confront your A hang-ups...they are all in your mind! : )
Eva, I use Limewire to taste things and EIL, Djangomusic, Opalmusic and Amazon to buy : ) If you just want to listen use LastFM...it's light years ahead of the others.
wanted to get my hands on a few songs + i dont belong to any of those sites myself...was gonna ask you to do my dirty work for me. ;)
No probs - what are you after?
got the list at home -- ill email it to you later. :)
No worries... : )
thanks bebe! :D
ok all, im off home! see ya when i get there!
Later, evana.
thanks for the hug lola!!!!! ((((lola)))))) see everybody later!!!!
Love this flower theme, mama. See you later.
later EvaN, Mama : )
'bye evaN and mamabear : )
mab - how was the trip today???
Sorry Lo, I was talking return. Are you just going to go single??
Any hints for po 5/14 and po 6/24?
Anj, been pricing both single and return 'til I decide! Was only going to book next week anyway, but am now wondering if I should grab one of those £9 tickets while they are still going??
Hi ren! Got lost a bit, but kitty and adoptive mummy survived nicely. Oh, and the car didn't explode! (elderly mazda) Sophie is reveling in being sole cat of the house. how goes your day?
Can't go wrong there babe : )
badcat, take what ducks swim in and throw in the 'me' vowel : )
thank you lola!
i'm not as silly as i was... i've been off sugar for nearly a week now and feeling rather frisky...is that cat talk?..about to start on state taxes but wanted to check on you....8)
Thanks, ren, that's sweet of you (but entirely sugarless). 'frisky' is not in my cats' vocabulary; science diet only, although that harder for them to pronounce.
right mab... it was easier when it was meow mix...8)
Anj, will check with K when she gets home later about the Monday and will decide then, okay? : )
badcat po4/5 + d for the po5 then plural for the po6
Much. They ask for that one a lot, but my cats must eat more wholesomely than I do.
OK babe : ) Mab, I just want to know, who TASTES cat food. How can they say 'MMM liver & kidney'? : /
certainly a bunch of pretty flowers today...
all beautiful!
Anj, there actually exist people who taste cat and dog foods. Not sure how that works precisely, nevertheless, I saw a taster on johnny carson several years ago.
Mr P, you should go for Rose Tattoo : )
i use to eat doggie biscuits....
Were they tasty, ren?
A taster? I hope they like steak tartar then : / Ren, noooo. Have you any idea how they make them??
lol anj! That is one ugly flower I had my kangaroo paw flower yesterday... do you want to see it? I have about a zillion of them in my garden!
Go for it Mr P : )
they were ok - i thought my mom made a mistake and they were just yeckie health food..not the green ones though...
Anj, K has day off so I can book return from Bristol for around 12:00 on the Mon....your call : )
here we go!
doggie biscuits, yum, staple in my diet when I was younger, til my mom figured out my little secret...
MrP, that is gorgeous! Reminds me a bit of the strelitzias we get in SA : )
bunny - did you eat the green ones?
Mom just bought the beige looking ones, but if the freen ones taste anything like hamster food, then yuck!
Nice one Mr P : ) Lo, there's a 12:28 train from Bristol which will get you back to Brum with time to spare before the next one : ) How do you feel about that??
...green... ren, you're pretty close to me...
Beautiful, mrpres.
Ren/BunnyV, dog biscuits are made from tastless roughage and are sprayed with emulsifiers and flavouring once they are baked : /
kangaroo paws come in so many colours... they have a lovely downie felt covering and and grow to about 5 foot!
Yup, I think that's the one I had in mind. Shall I book a return then? Makes sense, doesn't it?? : )
lalalala anj...no don't tell us....
Hey, if they work for Mel Gibson, they work for me! (I don't eat them anymore by the way!)
Anj...how does one come upon that sort of in4/7??
Well, if you're happy with that Lo : ) Does mean we can do something nice on the Sunday night... : D
Hi Folks! So many pretty flowers, I'd almost think it's spring..... Then I remember it's only January :(
Mel Gibson is certifiably insane. Could be those doggy biscuits.
I just cannot get the un7/52 and would appreciate any ideas you may have. it's got me puzzled
me either bunny... 8)
and still in the 80's
...I watch How It's Made on Sky. Believe me, somethimes you don't want to know. I didn't realise that bubblegum starts with rubber pellets : /
Siggi won't be hurt, will she? Oh well, here goes! *lola dashes off to book tickets*
yup - pretty warm here...
changed my flower to my favourite Aussie version :)
un7 you cut something with a sa* then you past tense it, then you add the un at the front
hi folks :)
80s??? It's a heat wave today here - I think we hit 40!! :P
add a past tense ending to the un 6/33
*lola spits out her bubblegum*
Hi sherb :)
gum pellets....what?
Same definition as the de6, exwren.
I don't think we'll even get a Texan winter this year.
Hi atalante and sherb : )
did you guys get the un7 clue?
Hi Atalante & Sherb : )
bunny - we did for 20 seconds...i saw it zoom past....
bunny - I would imagine a Texan winter = a Michigan summer LOL
atalante... that is gorgeous! Which one is it?
lol, you're closer to the coast than I am, still a little hope, supposed to be rain coming, cross your fingers
hi Bugzy :) lola :) Anj :) what a bunch today...
hey bunny - i got rained on last night!!! then i got in my car...
Am I thick, or what? thanks mrpresident and bunny
no worries!
If we don't get some pretty quick, my husband won't be working, then we'll really be up a creek.
a dry creek bed...
hi sherb, atalante, bugzy. I'm enjoying these flowers in the midst of winter. very uplifting.
Sturt's Desert Pea ... :)
lol, yup!
I agree mab ... got a Jackson &Perkins catalog yesterday and was so happy to see all the roses :)
I bet if I got plant some bulbs, we'll get a great freeing rain, works every time! Or plan an outside birthday party for Eycsis...
Ah, that's better. Just stretching me fronds : ) Refresh for an su6/36 : D
hi mab :) ...the flowers are wonderful... great idea for a dull January day :D
freezing... i meant, lost typing ability
OH, what is the theme for tomorrow?
Very nice su6/36 Anj... I was going to use a sa8/55 for my icon :)
I am offering up for hints as I finished last night... anyone need a clue?
theme is scenery... will slip into mine in a second!
bunny - outside party does it everytime..plan a big ol' bbq!!!
...sa8/55 for starters... : / lol!
combine sa4 and fo4... both 4's end with the opp of out
when i plan an outside party, i always include a water balloon fight so those expecting rain will not be disappointed...8)
lol ren!
Excellent clue Mr P....nevver heard of that before lol! : D
sa8/55 - A Eurasian plant (Onobrychis viciifolia) having pinnately compound leaves and pink or white flowers, often grown as a forage crop. or sa4/4 + fo4/7
I want to come to one of ren's parties... sounds like fun :D
Last time I used water balloons, I didn't factor in the nice dry patches of dirt everywhere. Talk about mad and muddy in-laws. It was great!
what is 38C converted to F?
ok sherb!
I've seen the carnage water balloons can cause at a wedding... a stray shot hit a guests gladrags and they didn't see the funny side.
...about factor 5000 Mr P : D
Did they plan to have water ballons at the wedding, or was it sabotage?
In6/21, anyone? I have the one you do at the beginning of a paragraph.... Thx
anj...only those who want to participate...that's mean hitting someone's good clothes..
It is 8am and already 100 degrees outside!! This is going to be a stinker!! (loading the water pistols) I am not happy about midday coming... (refilling the ice maker)
change the last letter to a vowel from the in that you already have
in6 same as in6 but change the last consonant to a vowel
keep talking mrp... you're making me feel warmer just reading about it...
and I was complaining about the heat!
mrp - don't freeze your water balloons though - ok? 8)
What a dumb word! THanks Mr P, that's me done!
Bunny, planned. It was a 5 day thrash in an old coastal fort. The actual ceremony (and dressimg up opportunity) lasted just over 15 mins so it was to be expected really. Plus most of the guests were on a bouncy castle in their morning suits and dresses. There was also a spacehopper fight going on so it was only to be expected. One sense of humour failure amongst over 100 guests isn't bad... : D
right bunny - but mrp is suppose to have summer right now...
sherb... I am sweating!! I hate sweating!! The humidity is 98% or something stupid like that!!
bugzy gets *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~* ~*~*
Ahhh, didn't consider that.
mrp - now it's sounding less pleasant... I like a mild 70F, or even 80, but 100 - no thanks...
NASTY HEAT! The kids are already whinging and I have 12 more hours of daylight to go!!
sherb... it is only 8.00am!! 100 is 'comfortable' compared to the 3.00pm temp we are expecting!!
ok, just checked.... 113 degrees!! I'm going to the shopping centre ALL DAY!
Your kids go outside? Mine discovered PS2, only see daylight in car ride to school, hurts their eyes.
mrp - aarrgghh!! ...maybe I should be talking about how cold it is here, instead...
Fireworks, 100 degrees by 8am, water balloon fights... *daydreaming about summer*
if you can.... SEND SNOW!!
Well, must go fetch the kiddies. Bye for now :) *interrupts daydream to put on scarf, gloves, and wool coat* :(
I'm closer, send it to me. :)
Unfortunately, no snow here either. Just gray and cold :/ see ya :)
later Bugzy :)
bye bugzy...be safe!
ok, last call for hints, tips, clues, outright gives! I
ok for the mo, but thanks mrp... :)
Me too, done if anyone needs help. I gotta get as well.
Hi All. clue for ho 6/24 please
ho6 - African bird with a big feather crest on top, possibly enjoys playing basketball???
ho6 ho4 above it + two vowels - 4th and 2nd
thanx, mr prez and vicuna...
Hello, again. Any clues for the 2 D7's and/or the Pi7 and Pi8?
de7 - plural the de6 above it
pi7 - pi* - sharp needle + w*** what you pull from the garden and throw away pi8 plural it
pi 7 &8 you pi* a brooch on your shirt + you pull ***** out of your flower beds
Thanks, bunny & prez. Sorry, prez. Apparently I don't have the D6 that precedes one of the D7's I'm looking for. So, lets start with the D6 then.
the other de6/33 is the same (double the first vowel)
d + double vowel + the moon waxes and *****
Good evening, folks... I'm back for more (thank goodness BA is up & running!)...
I agree, didn't realize how much I depend on the list...
evening Jera :)
how bout a clue for se5/10 and se6/18? pls
Okay, Bunny & Prez. Those clues worked. Now I just need the D7-46.
se 5/10, add a vowel to the 4/4 before it
se6 sounds the same as if you say "seen it" really quickly
d7 plural the d6 with the double vowel
bunnyvicious - thx , still working on the se6 clue
I'm confused now. Is there a D7-46? Or just a D7-48?
se6 I se** a parcel in the post (drop the last cons) + n** (what you trap fish with)
just a 7/48
de7/48 only
Ah, that makes life easier then. And now, onto the Un7-52.
didja get it pbr?
add a past tense to the un 6/33
last one... un5/12 anyone?
after you remove the last letter :)
plural of un 4/5
so I can move on with life? (life doesn't start until after babble is done!)
thanks bunny... ah.. now life begins! yeah!
Why of course, yet it is four in the afternoon, and here I still am!
...woot! 1st all-chocolate KitKat of '06 : D
thanks bunny. let me know if you need anything
Allergic to chocolate. SNiff, sniff.
Been done for awhile, but thank you.
oooo tough luck Bunny : /
OK, bye all, enjoy the heat wave mrpres. See ya'll tomorrow.
bunnyvicious not yet!!!!
....
bunnyvicious -- just got it -- thanks my friend
OK, was that all you needed?
Must be your lucky day babe ; )
Need help with un7/52, please...
Is the theme for tomorrow scenery? : )
Also un6/36 while I'm at it...
past tense of un 6/33
remove the third letter of the un 7/52 when you get it
un6/36 - not impressed (the impressed part is part of what valley girls say about something great)
Lo, no it's lingerie ; ) lol! All booked then babe : D
Both of my un6/33's are already past tense...?
The un6/33 I have is already a past tense. What's the other, please?
The two un6/33's are only one vowel apart...
Got it, Vicuna, ty... how's about the 7??
Ahh, thanks. (I thought I'd tried that, but apparently not!)
Yup! I'll mail you all the details tomorrow, okay? : ) How you doing with babble?
remove the last letter of the first 6/33, the add the past tense suffix for your 7/52
...just missing the vi5/16 : /
Got it, tyvm, bv!!
...just got the vi5/16 : D I'm done!
now remove the third letter and you'll have the 6/36
Babe, it's like the V in VCR, but different consonant in the middle : )
Yay! Well done babe (((xxx))) : )
Hey everyone, back for another round! Great meeting you today Jera!! :)
Hi jen! Hey, did you guys finally meet face to face?? : )
{{{JEN}}} Yes, Lola, neither Jen nor I are figments of the collective Babble imagination...
hi everyone!
Yeah, we did!!! And neither one of us is a cyber-stalker! LOL
Help with the te5/20, please?
Yes, well, I left my axe at home...
Hi temple! : ) jen, jera, that's great! : )
Jera, take the 4/8 and make it past tense
te + to get married
hi Jen :) hi Temple :)
Got it! Thanks!
Hey sherb, hey temple!
Hi everyone!
Bye now
hi periwinkle!
greetings everyone...this one is a doozy...how many words today?
Hi peri : ) 'bye bunny : )
Hi! just got kicked off the site- anyone else having trouble?
hi peri :)
T-Owl, it can sense a subversive influence from 3 blocks away ; ) Marc - 153 of the blighters...
anj - : P
i agree that they're blighter....especially if there's 152 of the %^&*-ers
hello everyone.... :)

a2zwordfinder.com You can type in partial words & it lists everything that it could be... alike all words starting with ai...
It's a2zwordfinder.com It's a fantastic site that when you put in the 1st few letters of a word (say... you are stuck on the po's), it'll give you everything that starts with po that's allowed in scrabble, enable dict, etc. (although it misses a few words here and there)
Karys and mo, thanks found them
Octarine - welcome to Babble :) you can also try morewords.com
Thanks, its been a long time since I played this kind of game, a friend linked me here

peester... the gibberish is part of the australian language LOL... that's why I play this game! My clues are also gibberish most of the time too!
bye all you sweetie pies... i'm going to supper 8) w/ no whine...
Pres, today it was the botanicals & the foreign gov't officials that got me. I beat the grid mercilessly before I ask for clues, then check the definitions before giving up. G'night from Kentucky & thanx again
bye ren!
night peester! enjoy your evening
oh, I would love wine! Not allowed wine... but would love it!!
clues for IN6's? Please?
Can someone help me with or5/12, please?
found it just as I typed it.
or 5/12: or+ what you stick yourself with when hemming a dress
in 6's: what you do when you start a new paragraph, and then the other word is the same, only change the last letter to a vowel
could I have a clue for the su6/36? I am down to the last 6 and can't see....thanks
I am monkey typing nonsense....
it shines down on this glistening in the grass
Mr.Pres: Why aren't you allowed wine?
I guess I am really dense, can't get it
join the two 3 letter words together
Thanks, I had no idea that was a word..
clue, please, for de 6/ 33 & de 7/ 48
mon if you have de5/20 and de6/33 ... double the first vowel
lwg50 :) yw
Thanks Poo's Mom ! Those were my last two... I kept seeing them and thinking, "I already have them"... LOL..... I am done.... woo hoooo!
Congrats Mon! :D
could I have a clue for the ne6/30 and I hope that the ne7 is the plural..
lwg50, they are related, and they build off the 4/8 above them
adj and more so, respectively
Got it! Thanks only 1 more to go ...the pi6/24. I don't know why I couldn't see it....:)
in wrestling, you loose if you are pi6/24
lose, sorry my fingers got happy for a minute
Thanks to all! #4 grid actually finished. Iam so addicted...
lwg gets *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* F I R E W O R K S *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
moncrunchr gets *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* F I R E W O R K S *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* too!
Nia: Thx got the pi6/24. LOL
excellent, thanks for fireworks. Which do I like better ..Babble or Chocolate? maybe Babble will help on the diet.:)
Oh no, iwg, chocolate and babble arre like this. (crossed fingers and toes)
you're so welcome JoJo... that's what the log is for! ;))
Cool, I hate to have divided loyalties
Nia: My son wrestled in HS ~ a long long time ago, however remembered.
JoJo, I really don't know much about wrestling... except that! Really cool about your son... and your memory though!
Nia: Lots of sports memories with both our daughter and our son. Always looked sooo forward to both of their games on the weekends. Awful to get old, and have no kids sports to look forward to.
You are not old, JoJo.
Mab: Not in today's world, but I really miss not have my kids' sport games to look forward to. But, that is just me.
I can understand that.
Everyone: Enjoy your kids while you are raising them, because it is a very short time in your life.
I have no children, but life does go by amazingly fast.
You have no idea how fast.
JoJo, your never too old to have fun! My kids are just starting sports... I will definately enjoy that!
Nia: I am JoJoFunLvg, I really love to have fun.
Good evening all! - how are you all?
Howwwww-deeeeeeeee (oh wait, Jethro was LAST nite) hi all!
hi everyone
good evening gw and mama!
Hey Mama!
Hi MAMA -- got your message last night -- I didn't get on til late -- I finished the puzzle though ;) (*HUG*)
GW - were you following me in or was I following you?????? LOL
evening GreyWoulf, how's your day been?
Hi GW!
GW: Good Evening to you as well. Where in the heck have you been all evening???? ~Goin' to have to explain~!!
hi mab, doxy & poo's mom!!!!!!! good to read ya!!!
MAMA -- I think its a case of GMTA again ;)
I reckon you are right!!! I'm glad you got my message finished the grid. I have 22 to go tonite, I'm thinking it aint gonna happen....
Niamh & JoJo -- been doing not much today except playing with Kristianna and getting my act together so I can go to a temp agency and see about transitioning out of retail -- on a little late tonight cos I had to go grocery shopping :)
GW - please put an "and" between message and finished......
GW: Really nice to read you are helping your wife out by grocery shopping and playing with your kid. **Lots of Respect Guy**
Mama -- 22 is nothing! You've got me here tonight and I am ready to clue everyone in -- I was able to finish before I went to bed this AM :)
I've got 18 to go, mama, we'll finish! Two whole hours!
anybody have the in 6/21's who would like to maybe share them?
Three hours, really.
JoJo - GW is the greatest husband & father - his family is very fortunate and I hope appreciates him - not everyone has what they have.
in6/21 -- one is how you layout the start of a paragraph (in+de4/5)
mamabear, one is what you do to the beginng of a paragraph, the other means A colorless organic liquid, C9H8, obtained from coal tar and used in preparing synthetic resins.
mab - the puzzle has 2 more hours but I don't know if I do!!!
Mama: Sounds like it. ***Hugs for GW Everyone***
other in6/21 -- drop the last consonant of the one I just gave and replace with a vowel
Point taken, mama! I felt that way when a sedative I took early this morning kicked in two hours ago. Somewhat revitalized now, however.
note -- I gave the in's in reverse order from on the list
thanks. next on the agenda is the kn 5/12
Vi 5 please? I can't imagine.
1st part:it shines down 2nd part: it glistens in the grass
mab - a sedative? are you ok? I am STILL fighting whatever virus I got on Christmas Eve..... didn't even make it to choir tonite - too much coughing.
and for those who weren't here this AM to participate in the nerd/geek thread, go back and read it -- it was a rip!! and all because I observed that fi4/11 is my true last name :D
about whqt time was it on, GW? I could use a good giggle.
what word is that a clue for, BrandyJack?
Aw, you must miss choir... I'm skittish. Took Malka the cat for her hyperthyroidism tx today; it was far away, I had to leave her (for three days), etc., blah, blah. Mild sedation seemed in order. I don't like to do it, but sometimes I'd never get out of the house.
1st vi5 is singular of the vi6 - vi + an4/5
2nd vi5 -- you rent movies from the vi*** store -- change the consonant
oh that's right mab, I'm sorry - I remember now I think you were talking about your kitty earlier today..... I understand...
su6/36 a word lwg50 was looking for about two pages back in the log. wasn't paying attention to where I was. Couldn't figure out why the log wasn't updating either......
nobody wants to give a clue for kn 5/12??/ must I beg????
any help with the last un 6/33??
mama... there isn't a kn 5/12, do you mean kn 5/18?
Iwg finished a little while ago, brandyjack, but how nice of you. Thanks gw; should have mentioned I have the french for meat.
kn5/20 perhaps?
I make a dress on a ***ing machine - if I take it apart, I have un**** it
sorry - I guess it's a kn 4/12 - the 4th kn on the list
my 9:32 post was for realityfan....
sorry, MAMA -- checking on the thread -- it started around 12:30 this AM kn4/12 -- when someone tells you something you are already aware of, you say "I kn** that!"
mama, if I kn 4/12 that I'd have given this clue 10 minutes ago
take that "i kn** that" and change the last cons to P
omg omg OMG!!! OK please do NOT, I repeat, do NOT give me a clue for the kn 4/12 - I can't believe I asked for that...... *mamabear is extremely red faced (under the fur of course* and I'll pay each of you handsomely not to tell anyone I asked for a clue for that word! grasias
are you begging Mama!!?
no, right now I am black & blue from self inflicted fish slapping
vi 5/18 anyone?
LOL 8O
that's ok GW - I think I'll go check it out.... like I said, I could use a good giggle. brb
oops and vi 6/30...I'm having trouble with the Vs
realityfan -- I just gave a clue for that at 9:30, just scroll back for it :)
vi6 plural your vi5
French for meat, sing. and pl. vi5,6. or just add 'no ifs, xxxx, or buts.
I already have that Vi...I need the other 5 letter one. It's bugging me. I know, I'm a cheater. :P
thanks mab, just got it! :D
No you are not a cheater! The other vi is a bird. look down a tiny way in the log for gw's clue.
realityfan -- using the log for assistance is NOT cheating! If it is, then we are all guilty of the same crime --- you are merely exercising your right to utilise all the tools at your disposal :)
including cheating. NO! Kiddding!!!
mab -- ROFL!! ;)
got my scenery icon all ready for tomorrow!! :D
wa 6/30 help?
I can't believe I just got the sn4 and 6 combo. What lovely words.
hi evanadine!!!! GW - I just went back and found the nerd-a-thon..... funny as a pocket protector protector!!!!
wa 6, stupid word: more pale and frail
okay ive gone through the list alphabetically using the first 2 letters and point values, and am missing a few. Mind giving help? Here are the first few: an5/10, ho 4/8, ho 5/18, ho 4/6...THANKS! And good thing this isnt cheating, or id be going to heck...haha
gotta love those Scots, mab (sorry about the delay in post -- cat just spilled an entire cup of water on the rug)
reality fan, the an is like an*** cookies around christmas
ho 4/8 and 5/18 are what horses have for feet
is that what it is? brother. hey, what's your cat doing walking around with a cup of water?
and your ho's are what a horse clomps around on
help with pi7 and pi8? pls.
ho 4/6 is round... what the Alvin the chipmunk wants for Christmans
haha my clue came out wrong
pi7 -- what you use to hold a seam together before stitching it + what you pull out of your garden plural for the 8
doxy: compound words; pi is the thing you use in sewing and we the thing you don't want in your garden. sing and pl.
thanks GW.
lol, mab -- Kirsten left it on the floor and I didn't realise that the water bowl was empty, so Meeper decided to help herself :D
I'm not thinking too clearly tonight. My daughter has been in early labor for 2 days now. I'm going crazy.
how early doxy?
she is due next week. She is just contracting but not dilating. I was up til midnight then awake at 4:30 this morning, and worked all day.
The first po 5/14 & 6/24 please?
pi 5/20, pi 6/24, po 5/14, first po 6/24, first po 4/5
I never get my clue in first. gw, my malka loves to drink out of cups and glasses. But she must touch the water in the glass first. And if the glass isn't very full, she gets her nose stuck in there. Thus many spills.
mab -- mine are the same way -- except the spills always happen because they are surprised that they get their feet wet!! :D
doxy, is this her first baby?
is she in the hospital, doxy?
Ok greywoulf - I'm here. Now how do I play? No directions!
she was sent home twice yesterday. Started contracting again tonight. She just doesn't want to get sent home again.
po5/14 -- you po*** at something to reinforce your choice to a salesman, just change the last letter plural for the 6
darn those braxton hicks contractions!!!!
that happened to me with my second baby, I didn't want to leave the hospital because it was a 3 hour drive... so I marched up and down the stairs all night and had my baby early in the morning
she is ready to be delivered. And I want my granddaughter, darn it.
That's awful, doxy! How stressful! And painful, tiring. Can someone go with her and be a little bossy with the staff? Sometimes that really helps. The person in need is in no shape to advocate for herself.
hootowl -- the instructions have their own button next to the my profile button at the upper right -- but it's very straightforward -- min word length is 4 letters -- same restrictions as Boggle
I am po****** to the grid and changing the last letter, but still being told oops
Doxy: I had the same problem with my first baby. Contractions, sent home, and the next day the same thing. FINALLY, the third day she was born. No problems, I would think right now.
she is delivering at the same hospital I work at. I have no pull. I even talked with her Dr. today.
(I love that GW is recruiting.... heehee) did you warn them how addicting this game is?
BTW -- Hi Mom! -- the references you see regarding po5/14 refer to the ist two letters of the word in question along with its length/point value
we have a storm coming in tomorrow. I am hoping her water breaks tonight.
They like the baby to make the decision!!! My first was 25 hrs labor, with no sleep for 3 solid days. My 2nd was 12 hours, my third was 3 days and I had pneumonia at the time. She cured me. I didn't do that no more.
Also need help with any of the Se's except 5/18 and 4/8...
LOL Mama!
I'll say a prayer for her. I hope her water is breaking as we speak.
Doxy: Sometimes the Dr. or nurse breaks the water, they did with me, with my 2nd kid.
The 2nd letter list is accessed via the Babblers Anonymous link in the Friends of Babble box -- Click it, then the General topic, then the Daily Stats topic -- there you will find a breakdown of the puzzle
Hi GW's Mom!!!! Welcome to Babbleonia!!!!! (your son is a sweetie, by the way!)
since it is her first, he doesn't want to induce her. I understand the reason, it's just hard to see your daughter in pain.
jojo, I would try myself, except I won't check my own daughter. I am being grandma, not her nurse. too stressful for me.
I can sympathize, doxy - I think it's much easier to go through pain yourself than to see those you love in pain - especially when you know first hand what they are going through!!!
What am I doing wrong? I still can't find the first 2 po's - I am getting PO'ed!!!!
I can't even imagine, doxy. It must be 100 times what I feel for my friends' children or my cats. Ooh, that doesn't sound quite right, but you know what i mean; I can only imagine how you feel.
doxy -- you have full sympathy from me and Kirsten -- we will be sending you what positive energy we can that your stress reduces very soon (*Hug*)
mamabear, similar to what you do with your finger po***, change the last letter.
I understand mab. I am just anxious to see my grand baby.
it will all be over soon doxy... you and your daughter are in my thoughts.
ohhhh. the n at the bottom... I was stuck at the top. *slap*
Okay...I clearly have issues. I'm stuck on sa 8/55. Anyone feeling generous?
sa8 = sa4/4 + fo4/7
kristinc - it's an sa 4/4 fo 4/7 combo (hold the mayo)
sa 8/55 is a compound word sa 4/4 + fo 4/7
Remember the T-shirt, Mama -- "Note to Self: The grid turns in BOTH directions!" :D
I have 14 left. 10 of which are undone un's..... might just let it go at that....
don't let it go mama! i only have two, which are both un + se 4/4s
I have 0word(s) left to find Yee Haaw!!
Thanks...hold the mayo? *scrunches up nose and hence the glasses :)*
1st un4 - un + 2 vowels plural for the 5
My friend Penny, had the dream delivery. First (and only) child, oooo, a twinge. She and husband go to hospital. ooo another twinge. Takes hot shower. Dries off. And bingo, baby is born. It was amazing.
just playin!
way to go niamh
that's a DREAM birth, mab!!!!
wa 6/30 anyone? I'm so close to beating 2000 for the first time!
un6/36 -- not impressed (un + aw4/9)
Never mind - I figured it out.
I'm with ya, GW... tell me more!
hootowl -- did you see the other posts I gave you?
My (ex-wife's) first baby was a bit of a struggle- about 16 hours of labor. The second was a tad easier; The third was a c-section.
Hurrah, Niamh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
un4/6 -- beneath - but drop the last letter un5/14 -- double the last letter of the 4
realityfan09, it means to be unnaturally pale ~ er
Hi Torgone! I asked the dr. to do a c-section on my third, but he wouldn't. Said it's "major surgery and they only do it if it's life threatening". Since I had pneumonia, had already been in the hospital and felt like I was going to die (literally) I considered THAT life threatening. He say no.
Congrats, Niamh!!! un7/52 and un6/33 are both ways of referring to uncut lumber
having trouble with in4. help please?
Only missing the 2 un 6/21's now... (thanks to GW!)
I had all 4 of mine c-section. so, my daughter has no reference for labor from mom.
doxy, the ****rmation superhighway
1st un6/21 -- not visually observed 2nd un6/21 -- not mailed or shipped
mamabear, un + se4 times 2
Actually, mama, that might have been good. There are still way too many c-sections done, most encouraged by doctors. It is major surgery (which is overwhelmingly successful, however).
where's that fish again???? *slap, slap, slap* thanks GW
I'm not quite getting it but it pointed me at 24 pts.
Depends on the doc and hosp. I guess, Mama. Contractions went on for quite a while, and the monitor showed increasing distress. The finally decided on the c-section, which I watched . . .
So realityfan -- which ones do you still need? -- I am sorry that I have been neglecting you -- the log has moved so fast I lost your list :)
6 more but I only know where 2 of them are - the last 2 se's
Hi MAMABEAR thanks for the welcome
te 5/20, te 4/8, wa 6/30
Never saw a birth from that "angle"..... must be fascinating - and MUCH less painful than the angle I had!!!!
mama, se****, se + pale and what you have done with needle and thread
te 4/8, the number after one, spelled wrong
Undoubtedly true, mama, but it must take a bit of fortitude to watch a section.
I caught a cold in September (when I was pregnant with 3rd) and it kept getting worse.... went in hospital with pneumonia the day after Christmas - was on IV's for a week - went into labor on New Years Eve - they stopped it and sent me home on Jan 2 (my birthday) that night water broke (from coughing I'm sure) and she was born the next day.
hoot - Don't worry, mom -- you'll get it pretty quick :) - and don't hesitate to ask anyone for help/advice/whatever -- we are all here for the same thing -- to have fu! ;D
it is actually quite fascinating. My hubby watched 3 of mine.
oops! to have FUN! I have no idea what fu is! :D
It was a bit intense, but I was was determined to be there for all three.
I agree mab!!!!!!
wa 6/30 wa + consonant + three letters meaning more so
Another good hubby & DAD!!!!!!! Good for you, Torgone!
Aw, torgone. You're so sweet when it comes to your children.
te5/20 -- t+ ew4/8 - change the last letter so it is past tense
I don't get the clues about pointing...po 5/14, first po 6/24, first po 4/5. I already have the one thats spelled like what you do with a finger but with another letter at the end.
I don't know...it gave me a good laugh! Glad I wasn't eating or drinking! You have to send me some directions. Just making words and have no idea how many I need or total points or what!
thanks for the se clues doxy, but I must be tired... not seeing them.
realityfan: po to be on the verge. Stick an i in there after the o.
I have the needle and thread one. must be the last 2 se 5's i'm missing.
PO 6 means to gave grace and presence.
mamabear, go se then straight up from the e, then left.
I'm back, for my last 18.
PO 5, I mean
Cancel that. I'm missing a 5 and the 6/18 ..... my list is a bit askew
take your last se4/4 and add 2nd vowel
thanks doxy - got the 5 now I'm just missing the 6/18
se6 - a signal call on a trumpet or cornet for entrance or exit on the stage.
de 6/33 & 7/48?
mama: not the House, but the Se (spellled diff)
Mom -- installing Yahoo messenger now -- will let you know when it is done :) Mamabear -- the se6/18 is like a misspelling of a part of the gov't -- not the House of Representatives but the Se*** -- it has a double consonant in the middle
wa 6/30 anyone? pleeeeeaaaase!
got em. thanks. stats say I am missing 4 w's. hmmmmm
It was an interesting couple days. The three year old had cut her foot open after Mom had been admitted to hospital, and came to visit after being treated. Plus, I had a horrific toothache, and as soon as baby was born, I ran across the the street to the dentist to get it pulled.
i gave a clue at 10:26, fan
wa6 -- take your wa4 -- the last one -- drop the last letter then add 3rd vowel + 2nd vowel + consonant
Amazing how we live through it, in't it, Torgone????? You have stories like I do!!!
OOps. Sorry to interrupt the clue-fest...
Wow, Torgone. Lots of symbolism there. And pain.
dont be sorry, Torgone, nice to hear from ya!
Is this similar or WHAT? When my third was born (already described - pneumonia, etc.), my other 2 children had strep throat and ear infections and my husband had walking pneumonia. He lost his voice and I lost my hearing. was like a comedy sketch.
going to check out my double yous. brb
harp - your de 6 and 7 are like your 5 and 6, but with a double vowel.
Thank you mab!
hootowl -- Mom -- I have finished installing -- Yahoo ID is gw_babbler
The rules finally showed up!
missing wa 6/30
HO 6/24?
MORE PALE AND FRAIL (IER)
woohoo i'm done
Mama -- my clue at 10:35
yah Ken! :D
harp: who? plus edgar allen.
ho6/24 -- a bird -- 1st 3 same as the previous ones, last 3 are the author of "The Raven"
Sorry for shouting. It was funny how many times that word was requested and clued in that last hour!
Thank you MAB, 9 to go!
0 words left to find!!!!!!! Thank you soooo much, GW, mab, doxy for the clues!!!!
Wahey Mamabeer!!!
good job mamabear
9 for me too harp! We can do it easily. Maybe.
I love it when you call me that!!!!! LOL
Yayyy for MAMA!!!!!! (*HUG*) and you were doubtful of completion!! You should know better by now! ;D
Brava MAMA!!!!
finished.
yay doxy!
torgone -- Hi there, btw -- not ignoring you -- just trying to multitask and doing my usual poor job of it :) Always great to see you!
Great job, doxy!! (*Hug*)
couldn't have done it without all the help. I would normally stay to help give clues, but I am beginning my ritual "cough my head off so I can't go to sleep" spell... so I must go medicate and try to sleep. nite nite and thanks again *hugs*
Well, mine are almost all u's. I'm not even far enough along to ask for a clue!
nite mamabear. Sleep well.
Yeay doxy!!!!!
congrats doxy!
No prob GW. Just here for as long as I can be.
harp -- almost all the un's have been clued recently -- if you scroll back you will find them :)
harpjane, there was a u clue extravaganza a bit back, (20 min.?) so you could scroll back if you want
I'm off for now. Very tired, and will probably get a phone call in the middle of the night (if things go well). Have a good evening all.
GW - btw, I had an email first thing this morning from "LI" - said he misplaced my phone number and I should call him. I called tonite, but got voicemail..... aaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh
good luck doxy!
Whoa. Got the u's in record time. Now I have 70 minutes to find one last word!
Mama -- go take care of yourself and try to get some good rest -- I'll keep sending you good vibes :) Sleep Well, Sleep Tight, Good Night (*HUG*)
good luck doxy - will be praying for your daughter and new grandchild - for a speedy delivery and healthy new child!!!!!! enjoy the moment!
Mama -- but at least it wasn't a disconnected number! Don't worry -- it's all good -- I have a good feeling about this :)
Done! Tomorrow is comics, I believe?
Well done harpjane!!! (Scenery tomorrow)
I think so, harp -- it was my suggestion -- I was specifically envisioning web comics but that seemed a little to limiting since not everyone has the time to waste exploring the net like I do ;)
yay jane!
oops -- scenery tomorrow, huh? -- then are comics on Thurs?
OK. Scenery it is. How are you doing mab?
ok - kiddo - give me a clue! When can I stop?
The "flowers" and "scenery" themes were my ideas.... I thought they would be nice to brighten up this very dreary January...... ok now I'm going..... nite nite all!!!! GW - thanks for the encouraging words!!!! *kiss on cheek*
Night Mama; flowers was a brilliant idea!!
Not really brilliant, mab - I work for FTD!!!! LOL
G`nite Mama. Sleep well.
Ok mom -- there are 153 words in this puzzle -- is your messenger up -- I'll fill you in that way -- it'll be faster that way :)
g'nite torgone.... you too!!!!!! good to read ya!
I'll give it a shot (sleep that is . .)
Great - I've got 54! Not up but it'll just take a min. brb
on
Fi 6/30? may I have clue?
mab -- all fish are fi6 -- they possess fi*s -- double the consonant and make it a past tense
mab, what a fish is said to be because it has these.
What a fish is?
like, if a fish challenged you to a duel. it's not that he slapped you, it's that he fi**** you
Thanks all. Got it.
I always miss the technical terms.
You need a technician in your life ..
OK - everyone -- I have to go give Kirsten here nightly backrub-- I will be back in a few :)
woot! done. any clues?
oops, her... (I have been making quite a few typos lately...:\ )
Hiya, I need a clue for se 5/10, please
se 5/10, add a vowel to the se 4 just above it.
Hm. There's an echo in here?
tu, harp...
how about TE 5/20?
past tense of the te 4/8
Thanks LesleyAnn
I'm back :)
I'm up to 66
i'll be glad when this puzzle is over. it made my head hurt!
Done. Thanks for clues y'all.

Hi Mom! Hi Kids!
Good evening everyone.:)
I may have to add you to my friends list first. Same name?
i thought she might be wolfie - hi mom!!! you have a very wonderful son. he is always the gentleman to all of us!
nope -- it was taken at Yahoo -- my yahoo ID is gw_babbler
Yes a good son! :o)
bean!!!
I'm very glad others can appreciate the job I did! :):):)
Hi Rennie ~:o)
brb
Very nice to meet you hootowl. I hope you will enjoy our little game. Hi beanie.
Doesn't want to add you! This compter is more finicky than any 3 women!
Hi Mabster ~:o)
mab - i think you've hit on something there - our own beanie baby!!!
Ha! So no uncledaddy for a while? That sure had me laughing.
A very spatial beanie baby!
That is frustrating, mom... I wish I had the knowhow to be able to advise you :\
ouch
uncledaddy was really funny!! i to was quite tickled!!!
I'm blushing.
I mean spatial as in the way mid-westerners pronouce special.
LOL Mab!!!
