How do I do what?
Mornin Woulf & Bean (((hugs)))
hi everyone!
you always say hi first at the flip ~:o)
Hi

Sounds like a plan, Octarine :)

h8/50
h7/36

Nor me chic..... lol

oy/7
Brandyjack left us a gift.
Hurrah brandyjack!! Lucky us!!!!!
Pressie....where where....lol
Is it made out of chocolate?
Woof
No chocolate just letters. Wow I could use some chocolate. Yum.
Woof Woof
I've still got loads left from Xmas....
Dark, slightly sweetened chocolate is a powerful anti-oxidant. Woof, griff!
se8/45
Well, this'll be fun. I have a stats chart but only green where the grid is. I've been *saying* we needed to use wild cards!
Brava mrpres.
Thanks mab.... typed forever!!
It will be fun. It's much harder if you have to guess the letters.
Or easier, I don't know. But anyway I can use the letters in the little yellow/gray boxes...and a magnifying glass
When I figure out what it is, I'll try real hard not to post it in the log. Promise.
Refreshing doesn't help, griff?
Hasn't yet.
Oh, looking back, brava Debs, x 2!
Nite All, time to crash and burn, I can't keep up with you morning ones ;-)
and what do you mean EEYORE isn't a valid word!
Can someone explain how the letter and number clues work, such as the clue se8/45? Thanks!
The word begin with se, has 8 letters, and is worth 45 points.
se = what word begins with 8= how many letters 45=how many points...
maybe reboot griff?
Thank you, thank you. :)
Don't want to reboot while I'm actually still getting words, but yeah, I think that's the answer. If it's still blank when I get back, I will know you all are pulling the green felt over my eyes.
Also, Dspanda, if you click on Babblers Anonymous under friends of babble at the right, you will find a listing of how many words, first two letters, etc., under Stats. Copying and pasting the list is very helpful once you can no longer find words on your own.
oh wait - there they are! well, some of them
Well I just nodded off in front of the computer! Will go to bed now -- -see everyone tomorrow! (*Hugs to All*)
night gw!
By all means! Night GW.
Thanks for all the helpful info Mab.
Nite GW
my pleasure.
ok, there's the 7's and 8's, now it's time to start my backward plod through the alphabet...
(I'm not boring and predictable, I'm consistent and reliable, yeah that's it)
At least you have a method. I go along hither, and yes, thither.
And yon as well, mab? I do that too - pick off the big ones, do a quick pass of whatever I see, and then I just start working it like a berry patch. Almost as tasty.
Well... yes, yon as well. high and low, wide and far, stern to stem, etc.
For some reason, possibly stupidity, I don't see the se. Just a wee cluey?
I see the lipstick tree.
Starts with that prefix for partial, end rhymes with the thing in the middle of your face x2 (which would look pretty weird)
Excellent little game this one!
(er, with apologies to anyone here who has two of those in the middle of their face, in which case it looks incredibly distinguished...well, distinguishable)
Thanks, grif. Eager to look that one up. Not that there's anything wrong with partial multiple features.
I keep typing newsmen!!
Ha! I tried newsreel!
My least favorite word and its plural, sn4 and 5.
Really mab? Guess you won't be visiting me soon!
no, not soon soon...
n7/32 is a great word to find!! monkey typed to get it though!
Someone left a clue for that earlier - something about foes not friends, that's where I got it.
Athough, think about it. Jan is nearly shot, Feb is a short month, March has warm moments, and then it's April. We're practically into Spring! It's just around the corner. Get out those seed catalogues.
Oh, people here already have them out! We give our stuff a long head start indoors since can't usually plant outside until after Memorial Day.
I hate, hate, hate, the RE's. I hate them and REhate them.
It's practically Thanksgiving!
By the time we see the first crocus here in mass, it's nearly azalea season in DC. Where's the justice?
tee hee spatial!
That's your next novel, mab - Justice in the Azaleas
Yeah DC intrigue
I'm polishing the menorah now. Just so I don't fall behind. I'll bet I hate the re's more than you do, Griff. Enable is utterly random with its re's.
We need to mobilize all the peoples of the world and help them relocate to their preferred climate. Climate Justice for all. All the coldblooded people, like my exhusband, could live in cooler climates and use less heating energy. People like me in hot areas, etc.
Wonder what the population center of the planet would be then?
Ok, I'm boring myself. must sleep as kitty progress report will be telephoned early in the morning. Later, wordies.
I think that's really a good idea.
good luck with that, mab - looking forward to good news for the wee one. 'Night.
Nite Mab. YOu and the kitty are in my prayers.
It could be a plank in a green party platform. hmmm...
Oh, that's so sweet. Thanks.
I know how worried you are. It's gonna be fine.
Morning all :)
Hi sprite!
hi everyone!
First word I see is my favorite S word... but I don't see a way to get it beyond 3 letters. What a way to start my day ;)

Well, I'm sure they're very valid to the Dutch, there there...
sorry griffums haven't learnt that in school yet.
Guess they are. Doesn't do me any good though ;)
That prefix is also what you often hear people call an 18-wheeler truck.
150 words 4.84 1891 And that's it for me, I'm so tired I can hardly think. 'Night all!
Sleep well, Griffs, congrats on finishing :D

You're welcome.
i'm obviously being really stupid but i can't figure out that plant again one!
mia - change the last vowel... (looks like female pig)
i could've sworn i typed that it! ha, thanks :)
why isn't mens a word?
mia - there are loads of "nearly" words in this grid!!! How about "Nosser" from Boys From the Blackstuff, and "Moes", where Homer goes drinking!
any clues for the me7/32
hola, como estas everyone!
como estas mi padre! vale?
Peri.... me + 3rd vowel + if someone doesn't win, you'd say he 'L***** ', drop the L.
thx trish - been searching for that for ages!
thx trish.... it was on the tip of my tongue the whole time..... :/
yw, I hate those kind of endings, makes me sure there are a passle o' unknowable words still lurking in the grid :/
lol, poo's mom
Hi everyone. any clues for the se8 floating around? got the ho8 really quickly!!
Hi Ishult se4/5(meaning partly) + same ending as my clue for the me7
thanks, got it
Thanks trishtrash for the clue for se8. been looking for that one for awhile.

Thanx spellit so 4 got it don't know why I missed that one!
ho8 .. responsible for chocolate craving, irritability and slitty-eyed death stares about one week a month. In my case, anyway ;)
what is the theme today?
thanx trishtrash If I think what you mean is right that word does not stick ... help
Thanx trishtrash got the ho 8 wrong spelling from my part before..
that was a good clue trishtrash thanks
okay, ...if anyone else needs clarification on the ho8, let me know, it was kinda silly for a clue.
morning, everyone . . . looks like all the missing e's turned up in today's puzzle!
lol, une, I think it's their AGM.
em 7x1 anyone please?
sounds like the boards used to file nails, Lucky, don't know if that's actually the def.
gmornin, all my fellow sunshiney happy babblers!!
hi, everyone
morning Evandine :) Hi Angel :) Anyone got a hint for the re6? My monkeys hate the re's and don't want to type any more.
trishtrash - add on some female pigs to your re ...
chessy, thanks :) I had the singular, too... stupid lazy monkeys.
do your monkeys by any chance have the mo5/16 or the first of the no4/4s. I have the facial one ....
chessy -- No4 is opposite of yesses
no4/4 ... garden ornament, drop the 'g'
Is that the multiple not yeses?
*slaps self with fish* didnt mean to use a grid word (didnt realize i had til after i used it!) my apologies!
oops, sorry, gave you the '4/5
mo5/16, to saunter or walk in a relaxed manner

any clue for me7/32 please
evanadine, thanx, but I have that as well. can't work it out at all ...
gotta go get a beverage, BRB all!

there's an no4/8, chessy .... plural of 'right no*' (this instant)
ty got it

I think it's definitely a no4/4, looking at brandy's list ...
oh, duh, I see it.... it's that french for black word!
trishtrash - you have saved my sanity, thanx so much :)
sorry, chessy, didn't mean to make you work so hard for it, lol
right, now I'm really gone :) toodles.
Good morniing everyone. Any clues for the mo7?
trishtrash been looking for the em 7x1 with your nail clue sorry to say still nada can you clarify a little different?
Ha! I knew there had to be at least one word in the grid ending in a double vowel. found it, too.
if you have mo4/5 add on to that
Hi Chessy-do you have the mo7 & yo 7 yet?
shorty, I have 2 mo4/5's- one is green soft stuff and the other a part of the body-which one do I add on to?
the green soft stuff
I thought I'd checked all of those out, but must have a blind spot. Off to hunt again.
add a vowel and 2 constanants
Thanks Shorty! Is that someone who collelcts the green stuff, eats it, wears it, worships it or what?!
LOL I think so
Hi eva can you send a clue for the mo 7 and yo 7 please?
lucky Mo7 -- take the Mo4/5 (soft green growth) and add the "person who does it" ending and than make it plural
according to the stats a babblers anon, there is no Y7
Eva you are TOPS! Thank you so much!
time to go get breakfast... be back in a few!
yay instant oatmeal! saves the day when i dont feel like walking all the way to the caf. :)
Morning all!
I saw a clue about a "lipstick tree" ...I am totally lost on that. any help welcome.
no idea, angelsong...i didnt even see that clue...heh
mornin jen! did you + jera finally meet up yesterday?
Morning eva! Yeah, we finally met! Now I just have to connect with you! :)
heh, i barely have time to connect with myself, most days!
Hi guys! : ) Please could I have some help with the last em6/21, the me5/12 after the happy me5/16, the mi/6/21 and the ne7/32?
60 words left to go and i have even used the babblers anon stats yet. w00t!
hola lola!! dont have any of those yet, im afraid...hehe
wait -- Ne7 is enemies...superman and lex luthor ar arch Ne7
Em6 is the same word, minus the N
(((lola))) hello alll here you go.. em (pl) the one above it me5/12 think theater row mi think cell division ne7 think comic arch enemy
Mi6 = Me7 minus the first E
mornin baggo. :)
Thanks guys! Got them all except the me5 which I am mulling over : ) Baggo! Hi there (((x))) How are you??
Me5 1st 3 letters of unclean, then 1st 2 letters of where birds live.
lola: me + offspring of a certain gender
Thanks evaN! : )
didnt have any of those til you asked for them, so thank YOU! hehe
thankful for a day off work..and how are you?? did everyone have a good new year???
Baggo, a fabulous new year...and you? : )
DONE>>>anyone need a clue???
good so far.
Ouwachita -- ive got the H8, whats the other?
clue for the lipstick tree?
dachef, re your earlier post about huey louis--can you believe he's the new male lead in "Chicago" on Broadway?!
evan...do you want the h7?? if so, take off the plural
une - as long as he can tapdance he'll be ok! Cant do much worse than Richard Gere in that film "adaptation"!
no, the other 8, please :)
oh, dachef, I loved Richard Gere in the adaptation . . . you know, he started out on Broadway in Grease, right? Re the adaptation itself, it was definitely a "Lite" version of the musical.
se8...half of the os4/4
baggo, still enjoying the new job?
se8/45 18 wheeler (slang) + what you smell with (pl) minus the first letter
yeh - but its not the same as being live on stage. its difficult to make a musical into a succesful movie - by taking it off the stage you lose the magic! does anyone have the en7/32?
thanks Ouwachita and baggo!
film adaptation of Phantom of the Opera . . . let's not even go there . . . groan
en7/32...another word for your foes
i absolutely love the new job, theres lots to learn, and i am amazed every day by the things people do to get themselves in the er...had a girlfriends husband die, while i haven't been on much. her kids and relatives all would play under my name...
I DID like the film adaptation of Evita but then I melt over Antonio!
Antonio does nothing for me...but then I am not that kind of guy
baggo, great news about the job...you are going to have to start telling us some of the funnier stories! Sorry about your friend though : (
I avoided the film version of Evita cos i saw it on stage and it was beautiful - I didnt want the illusions to be shattered. Then one day I came home and my flatmate was watching it - I joined her and cried my eyes out!!1
ouwachita - got it, thanx! Talk about obvious! Got all the dodgy m words straight away and then miss that one!
thanks lola...my husband says do you realize that you find humor in other peoples misery..which is kinda sick when you think about it. :-) i'm truly amazed so far at what adults will do while drinking...chainsaws and alcohol don't mix...but what's amazing is that they leave after stitches. none have had to have surgery..
ahhh, i can imagine . . . on a different note . . . that is, adapting film for stage musical--just saw Spamalot in NYC and would see it again and again and again--witty, hilarious, clever, charming--I'm not a big laugh outloud kinda theatre person but I howled thru the whole thing!!!
baggo, I guess so but I always think if you're gonna be that stupid you deserve to be laughed at! : D
very true....we're serious while we need to be...but man...and the people with animals where they should not be...that one freaked me out a bit...lets just say a woman with a gerbil....
Eeeeeeeewwwwww! : D
Hi, kids. Hope this puzzle is a little less gnarly than yesterday's. For some reason, that one gave me fits.
i'm not a little rodent kind of person...it was all i could do to assist...
une - spamalot? Dunno that one, but Im guessing it has to do with the Python boys....? baggo - defo tell us all the humorous stories - esp when people insert things into places they were not supposed to go. Always hilarious.
i'm not sure what kind of pleasure that would bring..
hi guys ; )
Hi judi : ) Baggo, again, eeeeewwwww!!! : D
basically the stage version of the Holy Grail . . . fabulous and wonderful!
Hi bubbles! How you doing? Have a nice festive season? : )
hi all who just joined.... Just picture it, nurse who has only dealt with babies for her career and on day 2 this is what i get
Waves morning to all Trying desperately to imagine the thought process or conversation leading up to that incredibly stupid idea. and what about animal cruelty? aren't there laws protecting the poor creatures?
i'm good thanks. You? Had a lovely christmas, i've was obviously a good girl last year as santa bought me lots of nice presents!! Did you have a good one?
But baggo, I am trying so hard NOT to picture it! : / lol!
oh yeah and it was still alive but barely when we finally got it out...(she took it home with her)
noooooooooooooooooo
Hi circe! : ) bubbles, me too! Although I didn't think I was that good... ; )
I have a friend who works in a hospital and he relayed to me one day the hilarious tomato sauce bottle escapade. Basically, this guy was admitted with a bottle of ketchup where no bottle of ketchup was designed to go. Apparently the conversation with the doctor went something like this: Doctor: how did it happen? Man: I came home with the shopping, only to realise that I had locked myself out. I climbed a ladder to the first floor, where there was an open window, and slipped. I fell onto my grocery bags, which had a bottle of ketchup inside, and thats how it happened. Honest." Doctor: fair enough. So how did the bottle of ketchup have a condom on it? Priceles.
*GASP*
You let her take it home with her??
dachef- LOL!!! : D
it was hers...they guy took his chainsaw blade home with him too... dachef very true they all say they "fell" onto objects...this girl wouldn't say a word as to how it got up there she told us to think what we wanted just please get it out...
legally she or he could've sued the hospital for not returning their property if they wanted...so unless the cops want it (murder etc) then they get their stuff back...
Good morning babblers...*waves sleepily*...I started the grid too late last night, but of course didn't finish. Any clues for the ey 7 or the oy 7, last of the big ones for me... p.s. baggo, was she very drunk or high?
i'm gonna be really naughty this year and see if he still comes!!
i believe...(don't know other than the smell) that some pot was involved..
what nice presents did you guys get??? i got an ipod shuffle..
bubbles, LOL!....me too! ; )
*lola is no longer talking to baggo as that is what she wanted...and didn't get*
i should send it to you and i wanted jewelry and didn't get any...;-( my son has the mini, which i use so i'm not sure why my hubby got me this
Hi norad! For the ey7 take one of what you see with and add a so4/5 (sounds like addition in maths).
....and the oy7 is the plural of the oy4/6 : )
baggo, lol! I got a new computer because the old one blew up. I can finally play the fourth edition of Myst...which i got for xmas last year : )
Hi folks. Have been splitting my sides reading Baggo and Dachef's hospital tales. I've saved them to notepad to show Paul later end entitled it 'Baggo's Adventures in Casualty'. Baggo - glad you're enjoying your new job. I think you should start a blog on BabAnon with the title I gave the notepad stuff.:-))))
Thanks lola, got them both...
waves to Jacula and Norad - morning.. don't gerbils BITE??? *still shaking head over that one*
Hi jacs! What a good idea! baggo, you could do it in the form of a diary : )
Hiya Circe. My aunt & uncle both work in a hospital and, believe me, the gerbil tale is not uncommon! As for biting, I doubt the poor thing can even breathe, let alone bite, when trapped in a place a gerbil was never meant to be!
missing a 7 -- i have: en7 32 ey7 40 ho7 36 me7 32 mo7 32 ne7 32 oy7 36
you're missing em7--plural of em5
baggo I got an amethyst hearts bracelet and a sapphire and diamond pendant for christmas...
hi circe, great snowman...
good point Jacula - guess I was just thinking the poor thing would panic - for pete's sake some people just should not be left unsupervised.
LOL, circe!!!!
thanks Norad - tho haven't seem much snow yet this winter here. refresh if you want scenery for today's theme.
sorry was on the phone...**not talking to angelsong*** :-D i should start a diary on bab...
hmmmm...any scenery or mountains?
Baggo - Please do! It doesn't have to be all funny tales, of course, but I think it would make fascinating reading.
oh yes Baggo - do please. (received a much needed but very unromantic vacuum)
thanks! got all the biggies now. :)
I went a searching on the internet after this episode...and just ignore if you don't want to read...but lets just say that the said person wants the animal to "panic" cause that is where they get their pleasure from most times it is the other orifice that one puts the "gerbil" in...
My icon scene is one of our holiday photos from 3 years ago - a wonderful silver sunset as we took our nightly walk along the beach. There's also one of that scene with me in a bikini standing in the middle of it but I'm not putting that one on!
for crying out loud!!!! am I really that naive??? ew.
and a 2 years olds nose has the capacity to hold 17 raisins...
norad, any scenery I believe. Mine is of my beloved Drakensberg in Natal, South Africa....my favourite place to go camping : )
spews coffee on monitor LOL
cice...no more than I was..all of the "oldtimers" in the ER were laughing at me...
oops that should be ciRce...
baggo, I believe my cousin holds that record, lol! : D
Im 29, and Ive just managed to hold 23 raisins in both nostrils at the same time. Do I win a prize?
Hold on, 24.
dachef you take it...do you need help getting them out....i would gladly volunteer..
Baggo - If you continue in that job you will expand your capacity for amazement. People insert all manner of things where things should not be inserted. Then they get them stuck and have to think up 'plausible' reasons as to how the things got 'there' when they have to ask for medical help. I must ring my aunt and uncle and ask them to refresh my memory on some of the things they've seen.
dachef...24?? What would you like?! : D
25
so, is that 17 raisins before the parent even notices that the child has placed foreign objects up his nose, or before the child screams so much that the parents need to have the child attended to?? Is this some sort of predictive behavior - perhaps the 2 yr old is a future gerbil patient???
LOL!
Dachef - Whatever you do, DON'T SNEEZE! LOL.
lol jacula...or inhale too deeply...
circe...LOL! ...and eeeewwww! : D
too late! If I put them back in the pack, do you think anyone will notice?
24? good lord
I could sit here all day enjoying this wonderful log conversation but, sadly, I must away at 101 words found... do some work. I will return! Thanks for the laughs, and the clues, folks.:-))xx
the parents weren't watching the child...football was on...that was dad's quote...and the mom said she knew there wasn't enough time for the child to have eaten them...and she saw one...and freaked...did i mention that kid came in by ambulance???
Lovely conversation I got here just in time for... Sprite once shoved a pokemon counter pebble up her nose... actually had the sense to come & tell me... she sneezed it out just as the ER doc was coming at her with the pincer thing to shove up her nose... she NEVER put anything up her nose again...
Thanks dachef...never going to be able to look at a raisin the same way ever again. Probably won't be able to eat them anymore either!
baggo - do you do house calls? I can only find 22.
why not put them on the menu at your restaurant dachef...
i'm on my way....lola fire up the jet
waves to Jera
bye jacula...will post on babanon later today
I can't...I am to busy laughing...
ewww...dachef...on that note, I'm off...thanks for the laughs...later
bye norad
*lola takes deep breath* That should have been 'too'! Hi jera : ) 'bye jacs : )
funny - but everything seems to smell like raisins.
bye Norad
*waves back at circe* Good to see you again!
'bye norad : )
lol dachef...
Hi, Lola! Bye Jacs! People come & go so quickly around here...
Dare I ask how old this raisin child was??
quick put some oatmeal up there and you'll have a cookie
jera 2
or if ya mean dachef 29
I thought the two year old was 17 raisins... or are we talking multiple incidents?
I think I've developed a raisin allergy. Anyone got a clue for the er6/30?
lola how's anj???
Oh goodness baggo, don't encourage him!!! : D
*decides she really doesn't want to know & focuses on the grid again*
baggo, he's fine. He'll probably be around later, I'll tell him you say hi if you miss him : )
dachef it means heretofore or before this moment if that helps jera there are 2 dachef go for the world's record mine from work
did he find work? or has he tried yet???
dachef, take an old fashioned word for before (three latters and add the opp of later : )
Oh now I remember... I need help with the el, please... all the raisin talk distracted me, LOL
baggo, not yet but I think this week is the start of some serious looking : )
got it - thanx baggo and Lola. All words begiining with vowels should be banned. Thank God there are no a's today.
el + the first thre letters of em4/5
jera, the first four letters sound like the beginning of what you call primary school and then add the 'me' vowel : )
i agree dachef...i'm not very fond of those nasty little vowels
Well, of course, why didn't I see that? Why, I use that word every day! *laughs hysterically*
here is the real def but i didn't think that it would help...cause i too use it everyday...lol Any of various oily resins derived from certain tropical trees, especially Canarium luzonicum of the Philippines, and used in making varnishes and inks.
Hi eveyone. Back for another bash at this grid. anyone got a clue for the y6's?
well i best go get some stuff done around the house...see you all later...i'll try and stop back later...lola tell everyone i said hello when you see them..

'bye baggo, will do! : )
Help with em7, please?
ishult, there are two plurals of the opp of no : )
bye baggo - when you come back be sure to bring the raisin extractor with you. Stating to get a bit worried now. How long does a raisin take to dissolve?
I have the Y's Ishult... whattya need?
jera, you file your nails with these : )
ty, Lola, a two-fer! (found the plural as well)

I have to disappear for a bit, will try to come back later...'bye! : )
Later, hon!
I think it's scenery, Ishult...
laters Lola!
Hello.
morning, harpjane
hi harpjane
anyone know the el5/12?
Ishult - scroll down - baggo gave a brilliant clue for that a few minutes ago. Not a word in common usage!!!!
30 to go... I need a nap... later, all!
l8rs jera....... slepp well. And remeber, the incidents you have heard about today are isolated, so please, dont have nightmares. (still missing 2 raisins)
or5/10? I am fast approaching the conclusion that it just doesnt exist and that I have rasin poisoning.
Does anyone have the ho words?
or5/10 your TV needs an ar*** to receive pictures just change the 1st letter. or6 is the pl
harpjane - ho7 - the things that make my girlfriend throw things at me once a month. Or, phonetically, the sound of a prostitute whining. ;)
Fmitch - thankyou. and thankyou, and thankyou.....
that made me laugh Dachef.....hello there :)
and don't forget you can make the ho7 into ho8 (pl)
Dachef yr v welcome
Thank you Daschef. We have those in Montana. I should have gotten it! I hope your girlfriend doesn't aim too well!
missing the 2nd em6/21?
HJ - you have those in Montana? What? Gilfriends throwing things, whining prostitutes or h07's?
also the en7?
I only have one Ishult....probably not the one you want !!
mines the plural of em5/12
en7 - *we are friends not en7*
Completely stumped by the Ri5-12. Any hints?
en7 = arch en***** - such as batman and the Joker. em6/21 = The Joker and the Penguin where Batman's ne7/32. Take that word and drop the n for the em6/21.
good clue FMitch, ty
excellent clue Dachef, didn't have the n7 yet, so 2 for the price of 1, ty
Never mind. I had the Ri5-12. I'm just blind.
Dachef-all of the above. We have ho7's in my very own home!
thank you Dachef :)
finished all the e's, nowto do battle with tyhe o's!!
need some help with my last 2: the last ri6/21 and ye6/27?
ye**** of the gaurd
good morning
Ishult - I think I love you.
steady on old boy!! (your welcome)
and Im done. thanx for the clues. Now to find those last 2 raisins.
ri6/21 try googling: Full of chinks, cracks, or crevices. Can't think of a good clue/hint so the def will have to suffice :)
I done the 'e's too now !!
Is the site having problems or is it just my connection?
Good Morning Everyone
Dachef- just noticed your in Bournemouth. My dreaded in-laws are living there at the moment. Been there a couple of times myself in the last year or so.
morning nan
good evening cybernan
hello there nan ;)
morning everyone! :)
Ishult - yeah, Bournemouth's really cool at the mo. Lots going on. Its perfect for me - really busy town centre but nice and peaceful in the suburbs (where I live)!!!
Gotta go - work calls. Thanx all for the clues today!
looking for oy7? has me beat!!
bye Chef...thanks for clues :)
Ishult - if you have the y6/24 just add the o to the beginning. If you don't have that one it sounds like lots of affermatives.
Ishult...take yr oy4/6 and keep going (linda pluraling)
(((tbear))) hi ya!
Just scrolled down through the log -- see that Jera and I are of like mind (good or bad?) with VanGogh today -- will have to go and change!
Hi Fmitch...bit quiet and jaded...been nursemaiding my youngest thru the nite and today.....phewy

ive sort of lost motivation with 43 words left to go...heh
all those e's make for a rough board
hi eva...I have 40 !!!
mi6/21 - constriction of the pupil of the eye
Good morning from a "little dryer" Vancouver.... only 37 to go all m's and L's....
Back from my vault of impressionist paintings where I exchanged the Van Gogh for a Renoir.
I like Starry Night, but the other is nice as well
that is awsome cybernan.... how are you today? I was reading on bab anon about possible babbler gatherings... what do you think about a summer gathering in Canada...
hi all! me6/21 - ick!!!
I haven't had one for 28 years .. tra la tra la......
lucky duck!!!! do you miss it? would like mine?
hey folks - here's my scenery. can i get some help with the first two em words?
do not miss it one little bit..... although I did also have instant menopause....taken care of with little red pills... and now that too is over with ... no fond memories either...
who can help out clues for y e 6/2 7please?
wait, what little red pills, how did you do that blaze?
hurshy def: An Arabian military commander, spell with two vowEls not one...
ye 6/27 very low ranking people in the military - janice rand was one in the original star trek
Blaze, are you sure? I'm sensing deep remorse in your no-no-no. i'll try to UPS the burden across the border for you
smaller - you got it right now? me too...
oh, duh, i need a fish
The little red pills were "premarin" used for estorgen replacement... I was 27 and had no estorgen makers either....
isnt it nice not to have one Blaze
woohoo hurshy, maybe we're cycling together b/c of babble time. you know, they say cattle do that b/c they spend so much time together. nothing like a cattle simile.
em 5/12 and 6/21 - alternative spelling of em4/5
shorty.... it is awsome....
wait, so how do you convince a doctor to give you instant menopause? and are there any downsides? i mean, assuming you don't want to have children.
smaller - yeah, that happened in college of course with my dormmates.
ladies, ladies, ladies stop lording it over those of us who are less fortunate
that works in at home and in the office too... what a little miracel... I have two daughters and now two grandaughters... who lo and behold are on the same cycle. two live in my home and two live elsewhere... of PMS is an artform around here.....ROFLOL
you can wear WHITE pants and not worry LOL
lol blaze!
can i have a clue for the me 7?
you can get the same effect with depo provera...i was on it for like 3 years and never got a monthly visitor. :D
downside to "instant menopause" ... let me count the ways. On second thought, the guys reading this don't want to hear it.
and can i have a clue for er6?
My instant menopause was not my choice or disease... I had scar tissue that caused a strangulation.... already had two kids... so it was great news all around...
If you have mi 6/21 - put an e in.
so we're going with Van Gogh landscapes?
er 6/30 - another way of saying before the present time.
I had my fourth child c-section they couldn't stop the bleeding so they had to do a hysterectomy
so6 anyone?
so6/18 French for evening gathering
I'd like to get the shot, but every type of birth control I've used makes me so ill. I'd rather have the surgery, five kids is plenty for, and my tubes are already tied.
ty haz, got it
no kids here yet...maybe in a coupla years
i'll loan you the twins, they'll make your mind up for ya
Haz1558- French is more than a little rusty (more like non existant)
Okay - think of a word that people use for an evening party - ends in double vowel
argh, these e's are insane. es5?
Hey bunny my tubes were tied and I got pregnant
es 5 - more than one s
es 5 many curvey letters
i know someone else whose tubes were tied who got pregnant - 6 times in fact
got it, ty Haz1558
AND hand me a fish
shorty that is not uncommon.... a friend of my daughters was promised that her tubes were caterized, and clipped.... over a year ago... she just found out she is 18 weeks pregnant.....NO Laughing there
6 WOW
Shorty, don't tell me THAT!, or my husband will never be "friendly" again!
LOL
just found a new letter to hate ........m
I know I've heard many cases about it It had been a year after when it happened to me
Apparently I have a tendency for multiple pregnancies. I'm known as fertile Mertle all through the family.
Morning all... re6 anyone?
re6 - plants again
So does your body just heal itself, bring the tubes back together? I'd have to store another one in the attic!
shorty... I think the body rebuilds itself sometimes... or the doctors do a lousy job.... either way it can be shocking and sad...and some times unexplainable...
ok all, missing 5 6-letter words... any help? i have: em6 21 em6 21 er6 30 ey6 24 le6 21 le6 18 me6 21 mi6 21 mo6 21 mo6 21 or6 18 or6 21 re6 30 ri6 21 se6 21 so6 18 ye6 24
Hurshy I googled your ye 6/2 7 def about the military person no luck can you give another clue?
ye + om4 (portent)
ye6/27 ye+consonant+op of women
heh, thanks to luckys post after mine, just missing 4 now
hurshy thank you I got it
I just figure him as a miracle child b/c they said everything was still in tact nothing grown back or undone
BUT if you googled janice rand i'm surprised you didn't find it that way :)
Hmmm, odd. Cross you fingers for me then. :) I would actually love to have a boy, but my current odds are stacked 4/1, so.....
must go a-lunching, see y'all later!
Bye hursh.

LOL bunny
ye 6/27, same as the wo 5/20 without the first letter
me 5/12, please? (following 'happy' -- have the one meaning middle)
me 5/12 - there is a previous me5/12 relating to 'month'. Shift the third and fourth letters around.
Haz - that's the one I have -- do you have a clue for the other?
spell just like the last le 5/10
me + your child (not daughter)
I have that one too -- it's one of the two just preceding the last me 6/21 that I'm missing.
Thank you, bunny
Didn't realize there were so many 5/12's.
whew! -- that's the m's done.

ri 6/21 (the last one), please?
ri + rhymes with a common red flower sent in dozens
ri + word that sounds like what you have in the middle of your face.
cyber: ri6: Full of chinks, cracks, or crevices - you'd prob have to onelook or google that one.
Thank you, Fmitch -- great clue!
Yahoooo!! -- red checks and black squares -- what a lovely combo.
Congrats c-nan!!!!!! It was a good grid today.
Agreed!
yay cnan!
Anyone need a clue before I wander off?
weellll...now that you ask.....LOL!
a clue for ow 5/18
add a consonant to the 4/8 before it
why isn't meoi a word? it is in the dictionary!
ow 4/8 preceding + consonant ( no def. -- it's another of those fictional words, I guess)
me6: periods me + male offspring third me6?
me 6 21 - plural of me4/5
temple: lots of me4/4!
me 6/21: plural of me 4/5 (where army types eat)
er, 4/5, I meant
how about the me5/12 thats right after the Christmas one?

gite . . . holiday . . . france . . . ??!! How wonderful!
Une -- it's the payoff for 43 years of marriage, hard work, raising family -- we go every two years now -- France is our favourite country to visit.

ooohhh, love the Loire Valley . . . and Normandy is sooo charming . . . have "des vacances magnifiques"!!
cybernan, thanks
no4: pluralize the three letter word for the present
Merci, Une -- Nous departons en Mai.
missing an L, the le510 right after the le6/21

hi all : ) just dropping off my handbag so you can see this week's themes. : )
hi babbler!
hi efor! : )
brb all
hey ducks, how's about a clue for mi 6?
nvm, alt spelling of me7, silly me
any clues on the or's? my last four o's & they are driving me nuts!
the or 10/18 combo is a kind of window, and pl (looks a smidge like the name of a bird - baltimore's baseball team)
MD state bird/s
and the other or combo is like another kind of window - the kind that sticks out of the roof - except without the initial d
think of an F-word meaning previous, then remove the F. ththen make it plural as well.
hurshy -- sounds like we are thinking along the same lines today...hehe
lol evanadine :)
got the "window"/"was" one... just need the bird one. thanks!
except i think i've got windows on the brain - maybe it's a sign it's time i switched to a mac.
actually the or kind of window refers to a window with two different sash sizes, usu. the top on is smaller.
got it! i went up & should have gone down. thanks for the help! :)
interesting, octarine - for some reason i always pictured it as a round window
we just call those round windows :-)
on5?
evening all..octarine Eire's in the puzzle today...
lol
heh, I noticed that! stupid no proper names grumble grumble
nvm found on5
ok, i'm missing an se 4/4, one of the two at the end - i have the one that's a country in africa minus "gal"...
neverMIND, pulled another hurshy.
second se 5/12 anyone?
and done! thanks for ignoring my clues - i find things so much faster right after i ask for help. :)
dsp0705 - just change the last letter on your first one.
Thanks hurshy!
grats hurshy!
thanks efor. :)
so, i have a few minutes, occupy me by asking for clues, folkses.
ok hurshy - I'll bite - how about the se 8?
se + mi6
Mama - I was just going to ask that. I reckon it starts with the se4/5...?
How about the second ri621 hurshy?
ok, then clue for the mi6?
ri 6/21 - take the flower of love, and after the first letter, insert "** sorry"
Hmm, if I had the mi6 I'd have it!:-(
thanks again!
me too, jac! lol
mi6 alt spelling of me7 - both are latin plurals, and are a word from biology about cells splitting. um... if you don't know it... let me think...
me too ladies... :)
ok, well mi6 = mi + os4
Hirshy - Got it! Thanks.
*Hurshy
got it! thanks....
Thankyou very mucho... :)

wose should be a word. as in "this wose if fow you, bunny wabbit."
My cats just gave me 2 feline me's by asking for their supper.:-)
smaller,sweetie...you're all cute and fluffy today...awww
LOL, Smaller.
cats are so helpful!
tbear - depends. are you holding any chocolate. what's so funny is that I brought a WHOLE BAG of chocolate chips just to make sure I'm pleasant. That PMS, sure makes those cravings STRONG.
There are 4 feline me's altogether; did you get alternate spellings?
The donkey from Winnie the Pooh isn't allowed.:-( Guess which word was the first one I saw today? (Top r/h of grid. Only 3 letters, so not allowed.)
my dog is sitting here wondering why bow wow isn't in the puzzle. He feels it is disciminating.
ne7/32 help, please??
jacula, yet "pooh" was allowed yesterday. Babble is discriminatory, n'est pas?
ne7 - arch enemies
I wanted Essex and Wessex!!
maybe "woof" would be allowed though.
Vicuna - I'll try again, I think I may have got my e's and i's the wrong way around. Thanks.
ty, hurshey!
me too tbear!
i only count 3 cat sound me's
Banging my head against the last five. Anyone have a clue for the Ye6-27??
Jacula- no i's, just with and without o's
Whoops, I guess that means only 3 total, since one singular isn't long enough. Sorry!
en7/32 = my last long one & I get a break... help, please?
ye 6/27 - google this: janice rand star trek :)
jera - oops, gave you en7 in my ne7 clue!!!
just cooked two haggis, made lovely gravy, mashed potatoes and fine green beans and the poorly girl said No Thanks in a weak voice and the other one said YUK...so I had a lovely meal all on my own....Haggis anyone?
Vicuna - Oh, I'd already got the stables one that sounds like a cat noise. I thought you meant the 'me that hurt!' noises with an 'i' in them.
Thanks, Hurshy. How did you know I was trekkie enough to know that?
(the americans whistle and look at the sky)
Okay, Jacula. Sorry to send you on a wild goose chase!
what's haggis?
tbear... is it chocolate coated haggis?
oh yay!!! people earlier didn't know janice rand, so i'm glad i found a fellow trekkie at last.
And now, a clue for the Me7-32?
Tbear - Do you get The Daily Mail? There's an hilarious recipe for haggis in there today. I'll have to put it in BabAnon.
judi, see discussion at bottom of this page about mi6, se8, and me7 is in there
So you did hurshey... yet, i still had to ask... break time for me... later, all!
Yeah, Hurshy. And I didn't even have to Google that. I just "made it so".
smaller, could be arranged hun......now I'm saying YUK
that oy7 is so stupid, am I the only one who never heard of it?
Mamabear - Haggis is sheep's stomach filled with liver, heart and lungs, onion, herbs, seasoning, suet and oats.
Jacs...haven't left the sick bed today so,no,no paper..
judi - didn't you love her?
ye6/27 - The Beefeaters at the Tower of London are ye**** of the Guard.
i always wished i looked like her.
TBear - I'll put the recipe in BabAnon later. Shall I put it under 'Recipes', 'Have A Laugh' or 'The Babbling Thread'?
except that this particular sheeps stomach..was a plastic one....still yummy tho....the inside I mean, not the plastic
ok, must go shower... (blows hurshy kisses to all)
Yes, Janice was very underrated. And her fling with Kirk barely got an innuendo. I was mesmerized by her checkerboard hair.
Reminds me of a comic strip here - Haggi the Horrible!!!
judi - totally!
S'up to you Jacs
no offense, t-bear, but no wonder you're sick!!! LOL I'm home sick today too..... w'ere SO alike!
dsp0705 - I think the oy7 must come from Meg Ryan's famous scene in 'When Harry Met Sally'.;)
I like that definition better :)
TBear - I think I've got a haggis in the freezer. I might cook it next week.
Mama....Capricorns unite n all that. But I'm not sick,my baby is....she had a high high temp all night and has slept for the entire day. She's even sleeping now and I have the tele on....She probably wake up at midnight and wanna chat all night..
Hi all
Ode to Janice.
Hey smaller, where are you?
Jessie....she's stuffing chocolate covered haggis....
Hi Granadan. Got your copy of People's Friend handy? You might need it when you read back on the log, Baggo's experiences in ER.
hi granadan! sorry about your baby being sick, t-bear..... worse than being sick youself!
tbear, what is "haggis"?
you don't want to know Jessie!
Haggis is sheep's stomach filled with liver, heart and lungs, onion, herbs, seasoning, suet and oats.
See Jessie, I told you you wouldn't want to know! LOL
LOL.
I'm missing the first Me6-21, the 4th Me5-12 and the 2nd Em6-21. Helps?
Sounds good! Where can I get a bowl of this?
Jacula - will I need to cover the eyes of farting snoring one - she is back on my lap for a very limited treat - she got use of her back legs back today for a bit - think I will rename her lucky though, Diagnosed with glaucoma and cataract yesterday, may lose they eye....
Speaking of food, I think I'd better toddle off and make tonight's dinner - ham & mushroom omelettes with salad. I'll be back later for my last 19 words. Toodle pip!
But once again, my babbling nostrils are full of dachshund farts, and my ears assauklted by her snores. Never thought Id miss it till she couldnt be here *inhales deepley*
have a good dinner, jac - sounds yummy! later!
Granadan. I'll keep my fingers crossed for her (and a peg on my nose!). Hope she'll be okay. TTFN. x
*whimpers* we're not back onto haggis, are we?
I must say with a queasy stomach today - between all the biology words in the grid, the "haggis" and dachsund farts being inhaled deeply..... sure doesn't help!!!!
Jac - only the good die young, and while I worship this old dog, she is a total cow.... trust me, she is a stubborn old thing and will cope with anything. *smiles fondly and goes all mushy over the farting one...*
Dont knock em till youve tried em... good for the sinuses.
Mabear, for a "queasy stomach" you must try Menudo!
em 5/12? I don't have the 6 or 7 that follows either.
was a clue given for the ye 6/27?
menudo?
opposite of no's
You don't want to know what it is but it's great for a hangover.
that's the ye 6/24 granadan, I have that one. thanks
To deliver us from the evil of haggis and dog farts, I invoke the names of holy gourmet chocolates: Godiva, Lindt, Toblerone, Valrohna, etc. etc. Yea, tho I walk through the valley of wretched and demented food creations, I shall fear no evil. For my cross is made of chocolate.
sorry - try "An attendant, servant, or lesser official in a royal or noble household. "
ne 7/32 clue anyone?
Well, farts aside, Im eating thorntons.
lucky - what lex luthor is to superman - pluralized
judi I am with you on chocolate mmmmmmmmmm! its in my genes
thanks granadan..... got it now.
efor who is lex luthor?
oops, not plural sorry!
that's a toughie, lucky - I had chocolate on my jeans once and couldn't wash it out!!!! LOL
lex luthor is a bad guy in Batman
drink lots of wine. wont shift the stain but stops you caring about it. ;-)
he's the bad guy in superman.
ne7 IS plural - a latin plural.
mamabear in stead of eating chocolate I can better eat my hat for i have not seen the movie batman ...oops!
Q: what's the most common word in Babble?
and for ye 6/27, the clue instructed you to google "janice rand star trek" unless you know star trek
anyone willing to give a newbie a clue on using x?
honestly. It wont accept Pooh bears grumpy pal OR our friend from the bullrushes.
oops!
sherb - is this trivia and you know, or do you just want to know?
Or homers bar tender.
tedsmom - no words begin with x today *wipes brow with relief*

hurshy my latin was too long ago amo amas amat etc any other clue on the ne7 ??

ne7 arch rivals
I'm re-submitting my request for clues for: the first Me6-21, the 4th Me5-12 and the 2nd Em6-21. Pretty please with grated cheese on top?
I dont know if we are friendly or mad. This nutty gang have kept me sane so far this year.
evan - gibson, torme, brooks
getting frustrated...only 3 left and can't seem to find me 4/5 (between division & month) ow 4/8 & 5/16 any help?
I can not find either the first or second no 4/4. the one that i have is the plural of a negative. do I get a fish for how easy it is and I can not find it?
thanks hurshy!
oh dear, i so want to give clues for all these but i have to go again

em 6/ is like ne7 without the first letter
se8 - word for 18 wheeler + lovers flower minus the r
TY doxy!!
anybody have a clue
A sensible one for once! You have made my day. A woman in UK died a couple of years ago - maternity unit was too busy with routine inductions (on 40 year old dodgy evidence base) so she and baby died of eclampsia while waiting for attention. Ind. seems to be used to shut up litigationists rather than in cases of necessity. Arghhhh. Guess what my soap box is!
yw maryjo. Found the clue back several pages.
oops-LOL anybody have a clue for me 4/5 (first or second one-I have the month)
Judi, i'm afraid i'm blind on the me's : / Sorry... About as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike, me...
Anyway, we are all dying to see pics of grandbaby when he/she arrives!

I'm having trouble with the ME's. I have all but one. I'll narrow it down. I have: me 5/16 me5/12 me 6/21 I'm missing the other me 5/12. The me 5/12 deals with subatomic particles. Can I have a clue for the other one? Thanks.

the late night talk show host, plural
That did it, snowy, thanks!
I meant to say I have the me 5/12 deals with subatomic particles.

Kathleen H, are you here? Also checking my icon to see what it looks like "tiny" (it's a picture of a rainbow from my window from our previous Center City Philadelphia apartment)
Jera my 1st me 4/5 is the opp of women + the 4th vowel
Ohmig-d, I'm so sorry. When I gave the clue "The em 7/32. The organs you use to look at stuff with plus so 4/5. Good luck", I was looking at the wrong word. So sorry. Pay no attention to that woman with the wrong clue!
Clever, Unea! At last my French comes in handy! Merci beaucoup!

oooohhhh, Mama, I have to tell you (and you other guys) - I have a new title at work! Short background - we interview doctors from foreign countries who want to train for 4 years to become certified Ob/Gyns here in America. After the interview, they send thank you notes. English is usually not their first language. (continues next post).
I wish I would have gone to work today only for the sake of being able to put a beautiful ocean shore picture I have there as my icon today...... drats
Nite, Jera - ty for the clues!
Haz - thank goodness for the tiny amount of french I can remember from school!
my downfall today - I Sprechen sie Deutsch!
It comes in handy, doesn't it?

does the mo 5/12 clue come in any other style other than French?
mo plus anger
that I understand!!! thanks Haz! 4 more - all re's
could someone help me with the re5/22 right above "look again"?
or mi4/5 with vowel inserted
So, one lady sent me a note thanking me for how the day went (I do all the scheduling, emailing, food ordering, and suchlike) - she said "thank you for the good plannification." I just LOVE that word! So, now I'm the official Plannificationer!
re 5/22 - sounds like a visit to South American country
lol MAMA! I shot myself in the foot rather this summer - having no spanish i was trying to tell the owners of the apartment werented in Majorca that we would change the bed linen ourselves - they had no english so I did the 'Parlez vous Francais Madame' bit and - she did - Fluently!!!!!!! God what a struggle!!!! LOL
thanks Une, I need that one too!!!
oh JBs - a wonderful story LOL!!
haz . . . huh?
Yes, snowyowl, I'm STILL laughing! I don't think I have enough room on my nametag for that title, though!
Plannificationer... I LOVE it!!!!! LOL
then get a longer name tag!!!!!
Une re+ 'south of the border, down ***ico way'
Culinary partner of retex
re 5/22 - with regard to city/country which hosted 60's olympics

Isn't more like when the taco you had for supper repeats on you (innocent lift of eyebrows)?
hahahahaha!!
Good evening all. I'm back again to find my last 18 words. It was 19 but I just saw Haz's clue for the re5/22 and got it straight away. JBSAnno - I'm glad I was here in time to learn the word 'plannification'. :-)
thanks for the re 5/22 - got it need 3 more the last 3 re's - 2 re 5/18's & re 6/30 then I promise I will stop bugging all you generous clue givers

oh, haz--great minds!
re 6/30 plants over again
Have to step AFK for a while, need to plannificate supper (greek salad) and call dad-in-law in nursing home (minimal recovery from a stroke in June). BBL around 10-11pm. Hope you feel better, MamaB. Parlez-vous on, you guys!
hi jac!!!! (I always giggle when I say that because it gives me a mental image of myself standing at the door of a semi trailer truck holding a gun)
bye JB ty for your company
Hi Jacula!
Mama - Hi again. Yes, I always tell people who greet me with 'Hi Jac!' never to say it to me on a plane! On one forum I used to go on there was a thread where a group of us used to regularly 'meet': me, Jean and Rick. Rick got such a kick out of saying, 'Hi Jac!' and 'Hi Jean!' that eventually we got him back by saying, 'Hey Rick!':)
bye JB - thanks!!!! and thanks for the clues.... watch for the pits in those olives, now!!!!! LOL
It's time for bed so I'll say goodnight and happy babbling to those still ploughing through em's and me's.
Sweet Dreams Haz
me 6/21 the last one please anyone?
me6/21 - pl. of the me4/5 (untidy) before it.
Sleep well, Haz.
Baling out with 123 words - 2 littlies arriving by 8.00am for breakfast & lift to school so I'd better get as much sleep as this cough will allow. Happy babbling to you all.
g'nite Haz -- pleasant dreeeeemmmmmmzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I still seek 4 x em's, 2 x en's, 2 x le's, 2 x me's, 2 x mi's, 2 x ri's. Oh well, something to get my teeth into! LOL.
Snowy - Get yourself some 'Drocera' from the health food shop. My Mum swears by it for coughs. Sleep well.
I was just about to give up on finding the last re5/10 when I saw une's 7.08 posting. thanks for that. I can go to bed now. Goodnight all
good nite snowy!!!! and yet ANOTHER member of the coughing club!!!! I am in same boat..... take care!
what is Drocera, Jac?
*Drosera.
Drosera is mainly a cough remedy and is especially useful in whooping cough. Drosera was used by physicians in the sixteenth century for treating tuberculosis. It's made from an insect-eating plant.
Drosera's key uses are for the following: * Violent, hollow, barking coughs * Difficulty breathing * Growing pains and bone pain
Jacula: can you get that Drocera without a Dr. I have had a horrible cough for over a week now....also anyone have a clue for the first m7 word down to 5 all M words
et tu? speedfreak?????? That settles it - everyone disinfect your keyboards - we are being attacked!
Speedfreak, you can get it without prescription here in UK from Health food shops. I don't know if the same applies in the USA.
speedfreak - the m 7 sounds the same phonetically as the mi 6/21
This has been the worst season for nasty cold symptoms, just get over one and get another!!!
Mama - THANK YOU! You've just given me mi6/21.
A clue for mi4/7?
THANK YOU! Been after that for awhile
*mamabear humbly bows*
mi 4/7 - same as mi 4/5 above it, remove last letter and add sometimes vowel
ok need the me5/12 and me6/21 before the one where you make a me-- of your room.
Thanks, Mama. Do you know, I could swear I tried that earlier. *Tuts*
me 5/12 - me + a male offspring (not daughter, but..) and me 6 is the plural
me5/12 & pl. 6/21 - sounds like the French for house OR 'this is myself (short word for that) and my male offspring.
Please don't hate me now missing the me5/12 right above that last clue Thanks for those got them!!!
me 5/12 - me + you get a tickle in your nose that makes you ***eze
Speedfreak - 'hate' you for asking for clues?? We LOVE giving clues.
You Are Awesome I am now finished...going to get some Vicks on my chest and hope to sleep in between coughing!!! Thank you I was just about ready to quit..
I'm after the me4/5 & me/12 after the cat calls and before the body of water, pretty please?
Jacula is right! In fact, I think it is a proven fact that if you try to enter "hate" in the word box, it comes up with "oops - that is not a valid word in Babbleonia" LOL
me 5 /12 the one after the me5/16 me 5/12 the next one in the list and the following me 6/21 the first me 6/21! three missing me's in a row who can help me please???
me 4 & 5 - I am not really here, I am a ****ly a figment of your imagination. me 5 is more so
Speedfreak - Get someone else to rub the Vick on your chest; it's more fun! LOL. Sleep as well as you can.
lucky - see my post at 7:42 for the first me 5/12
LOL Jacula Lucky think your clues are right below you post Mama Bear and Jacula just gave a lot of me for me:)!!!
Mama - I have those. I must have written them in the wrong place. It's the one's after that I need then...
for the next me 5 & me 6 - see my post at 7:39
Mr. Haggard's first name and the plural
Jacula It could be the one that means blackbird or ________ Haggard Country singer
jera please help since you're don me 3x right after me 5/1 6 M.. Christmas I'm on my knees !
Got those too, Mama. Now I'm getting confused! It's the 8th & 9th or 10th & 11th me's in the list that I need.
Mama & Speedfreak - Gottem! T/y.
there are 3 in the Haggard family - one 4 letter and 2 5 letter - one plural and one with an Ending vowEl
Lucky - I'm not sure which ones you are asking for...
It was getting the blackbird one (that I know as a type of border collie, a blue me***), that confused me. I got that right at the start of the day.
Lucky - if it's the 3 after the M**** Christmas word, then see my posts at 7:39 and 7:42 for those clues
*Jac scans the grid in hope of finding the first ri4/4 and 5/10.*
She shoots! She scores!
ri + **evator going up! and plural
sorry for the premature clue!
8 words to go...
Don't be sorry, Mama. Even if I didn't need it, others might!
I am finished, Jac, so if you would like a clue, say the word!!!!!
Yes please, Mama. The le5/10 ad le4/4 following it (after the yellow fruits) are eluding me.
le 5/10 - your meat is not fatty, but le** (spelled phonetically) le 4 - the last name of a male evening talk show host
oops sorry - throw a squiggly letter on to that meat clue word
Mama - Got the 4 now (wouldn't have done if I didn't have SKY tv though!) but the 5's still eluding me. It's the 5/10 straight after the plural yellow citrus that I need.
take your le 5/10 that means your contact le*** and change the letter order around
Got that. It must be the 5/10 after the chat show host I need! I really must pay more attention to how I write my words on my paper list.
oh that is easy - just plural your talk show guy
Scrub that! More than one chat show host. Got it. Thank you!x
Lucky - are you still there and hunting?
It's very quiet in here right now, Mama, isn't it?
I guess it's changeover time when most sane Brits and Europeans are sleeping and the other side of The Pond are busy elsewhere.
yes it is...... *tumbleweed goes rolling through Babbleonia and the wind gently whistles through the leafless trees*
Is it around 2 am-ish by you Jac?
Yes. Mama. 2:08 to be precise.
Mamabear thanks got the male offspring but do not understand 7: 4 2 me + **eze the ticke in the nose please another clue for that one?
I normally would not be here either on a Wednesday nite - it is a choir nite but this coughing is preventing that
Lucky me + the first three letters of the word ***eze (achoo!)
Lucky - if something irritates your nose, you expel the air violently with a sn****. Those 1st 3 letter of that word give you your last 3 letters of the word you seek.
Mama - I'd check with your health food store about the 'Drosera'. It may help.
Thanks, Jac - I will try to do that!
how are you doing on word count, Jac? Lucky?
Oh!:( Just checking what em's I need, I discovered I don't have er6/30.
6 words left to find here, Mama.
er 6 - er + second vowel + don't do it later, do it ***!
thanks jacula and Mama got it mi 5/12 amd mo 6/21
Words still to find: em5/12, 1st em6/21, 2nd em6/21, last em4/5. er6/30 Last se4/4
mi 5/12 is plural of 4/5 above it
er 6 - er + vowel + at this moment
mo 6 - there are 2 that work off of the mo 4 that is the green stuff that grows in the shade, commonly found at the base of a tree - one of the 6's is the plural and the other is one who would care for it
Thanks for the er6, Mama. LOL. That's something I often hear young mothers yelling at their small children these days, preceded by 'ger'. Translates as, 'Get away from there, dear, and come to me.' Hmmm.
1st em5/12, em6/21, and last em4/5 are all related. Think prince or ruler in middle east.
em 5 - em + the appendage on the side of your head that allows you to hear, spelled with a double first vowel. the next 6 is the plural
second em 6/21 - add es to the em4 above it
Down to my last three wordss total mi 4/5 mi 5/12 mi 6/21 Mama I have a mi 4/5 but cannot pluralize it... is it maybe the other one I still need?
last se 4 - think of the movie "To *** with love" but change the vowel to an e and plural it
the other mi 4/5 - mi + my boyfriend just gave me a ring and now we are **gaged! (add the ** to the mi) and then plural for the mi 5
mi6/21 = me7/32 minus the e
Mama I have the one mi 4/5 which means slimy soil
mi 6/21 - mi + the romantic flowerS that you give for ValentineS Day - minuS the firSt letter and plural it
Jac - last em 4/5 - is em + 3rd vowel and consonant (vowel and cons together sound like appendage on side of head once again)
Gwenski - got all but the first em5 & 6 from your clues. You helped me get my written list in order. Thanks.
Anyone got a clue for the last se4/4 while I struggle with the Eastern ruler related em's? (Got the Eastern ruler already, btw.)
Take your last em4/5 and replace the middle vowel with a double vowel. Different spelling for same thing.
I am new and will have to learn but you are using codes I cannot yet understand. What is ri4/4 and 5/10? Newbies!
Gwenski - Gottem. Thank you!
ri5/10 means that the word starts with ri, contains 5 letters, and has a point value of 10.
THANK YOU ALL PLURALIZED I HAVE FINISHED FOR THE SECOND TIME EVER WHO WANT A GIN AND TONIC TO CELEBRATE??
Sushi. Welcome to Babbleonia. 're' means the word begins with the letters 're' 5/12 means it is 5 letters long and worth 12 points. To see how all this works click on 'Babble rules'.
thanks Gwenski! So far I have 327 points so not too bad for a novice!
Congrats, Lucky! Just pour me a diet cola or plain bottled water, please.
Jac - clue for the se 4 at 8:20
Thansk Jacula. Rules, smules, it is more fun to chat.
Well done, Lucky! A G& T sounds lovely, thank you. Want a slice of lemon to go in yours? *Jac hands the lemon bowl over.*
I'll take a lemon, too, please.
Good job Lucky - but gin and I don't get along.... make mine a rum & coke! Hi Sushi - sorry - I stepped away for a minute and missed your entrance! Welcome to Babbleonia!
Mama - wil check back for the se clue. Thanks. Sushi - Chatting is fun but knowing how the scoring works DOES help! (See Babble rules.) LOL.
boy this game is addicting and hard! To think I used to think I was good at the OGG version of thiis game!
Se 4 --Cover up a telltale breath with..se****..drop one s amd one n.
Jac - do you really think you should be using that particular citrus fruit today???? LOL
Oops. Sorry. I did it too.
It grows on ya, Octarine, just like mo 4/5 on a tree!
Mama - OOPS!
Mind you, it makes a change for a Babbleword to be one in everyday use!
you're both in luck - this happens to be "no time outs for listing grid words Wednesday!"..... yeah, really!!! It's on MY calendar!!!!
Drinks are on the house tonight and I toast to everyone may we all get well soon (for those who are not feeling so good) Hope to meet you all tomorrow I'm off to bed LOL cheers!
mo4/5 on a tree... Now I get it. Ha Ha. Ok I am up to 341 points. This is fun. I am attracted to the gin-lemon talk tho.
good nite Lucky!!! Thanks for the drink!!!
Thanks for the reprieve, Mama. Now I can sign off with a clear conscience.
bye bye hug for mamabear!
oh yes, gwenski, it t'would be a restless sleep with something like THAT on your mind!!! LOL good nite - sweet dreams!
(((((Lucky))))))))
Goodnight Lucky. Sweet (Babblefree) dreams. Mama - my calendar says it's my best friend's 49th birthday (tee, hee) and another friend's son's 25th birthday. (Good grief! I remember him 5 minutes ago when he was still 'a lump'!)
Jac - you all done too?
Grant - Thanks for the clue but I haven't been able to work it out.
does anyone else print out the two letter combos on a single page and strike them out as you solve them?
se 4/4 - Yes *** that's my baby, no *** I don't mean maybe," Only change the vowel to an e and add an s at the end
raises hand high, that is how i solve, with a list
Oh yes Octarine!!!!! Couldn't do it without it.
oh please no singing tonight
Octarine - I write the bloody words by the combos, never mind strike them out! LOL. Thing is, I don't always write them in the right order - hence the confusion at times. :-(
hi ak - sorry. will try to control myself *mamabear hums quietly to herself*
yeah Ihavent figured out the order thing yet so I just keep plugging away.
Oh, yet another case of me writing it down wrongly... It's not the last se4 I need but the one before it. *Sighs and slaps self with a wet fish.*
so Jac, do we have our se?
No, Mama, 'we' don't!
evening mamabear, just got in. i am off to a late start tonight!!
Hi AKnitter! Don't you want us to serenade you as you Babble? *Looks hurt and cries quietly into keyboard.*
the se 4 above it is se + the joint in the middle of your leg minus the first and last letters
oh don't cry into your key board it will short it out!!!! -- Hands tissue to jac
besides, if I could sing tonite, ak, I would be at choir rehearsal. Hope this infernal coughing isn't annoying you nice people.
i am having issues with these ho's... any help?
Got it, Mama. A regular Babbleword and I didn't see it! *Slaps self with large frozen fish.* AKnitter - Thank you. *Blows nose noisily after wiping eyes.*
hot tody for your cough??? holds out a cup
LOL LeslieAnn!!! when a boy goes through puberty, his ho****** are running rampant.
LeslieAnn - Issues with ho's? Maybe the police could help?:)
lol jac, i was thinking the same thing
thanks ak - never turn down a toddy!!!! mmmmmmmm
I've still got a stack of mulled wine mix left over from Christmas. Shall I make a pan up for us all? We can have oranges and le6/21s in it, too.
seriously... yesterday i was trying to give someone a clue for "hoofs" so i said "these are the ho's that horses clomp around on" which looking back was hilarious
is tomorrow comic day? I am an icon behind. Here I am the one that suggested flowers and scenery and I am not participating .... bad mamabear
mulled wine please! i have a large glass here
what is mulled wine?
oh mulled wine is yummy, better than a hot tody. spices and fruits into your simmering wine. i get all gooshy thinking about it. the warmth starts your toes and quickly rises
SIGH
sounds heavenly!!! COUNT ME IN!!!!
Mama - Yes, it's scandalous that you are not participating in your own icon day! Mulled wine is a good red wine that's heated (not boiled!) with spices like cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg, and has citrus fruits and perhaps apples (sliced and chopped, all) in it, too.
LeslieAnn - Oh dear! I now have a vision of 'women of the night' being stomped on by horses.
'Stirrup Cup', traditionally drunk before Winter Hunts, packs more a a punch as it also contains port and brandy or the like.
farbeit for me to be scandalous.... please REFRESH
Mama - I meant to put some Christmas drinks recipes into BabAnon but I got caught up with making gingerbread houses and mince pies, and so didn't have the time.
Mama - That heavenly looking beach has redeemed you!:-)
put it on your to-do list for next Christmas!!!
flowers and scenery...my icon even matches in a way! Its light on water
That is Ormond Beach on the east coast of Florida. I vacationed there 2 years ago... was beautiful.
what is today's theme anyway?
today is scenery pics, ak!
oh, brb, i must go and change!!!
My icon, as I said earlier in the day, is from my photo album. It was taken on holiday 3 years ago in North Wales - a silver sunset that occurred as we took our nightly stroll along the beach. I chose NOT to put up the version of it with me in the middle in a bikini (despite Paul's pleas for me to do so!)
you're right, Octarine! your icon is very relaxing!
LOL Jac!!!!! A beautiful sunset.... I absolutely adore the ocean
done with grid Jac?
what is this..."sun"... you speak of? Its been grey for weeks here in Chicago, at least its not freezing anymore
Octarine - you saying light on the water has now got me humming Deep Purple's 'Smoke on the Water'.
i'm back, refresh for japan
Goodness me, AKnitter, you got to Japan fast! Did you resurrect Concorde?
Mama, yes. Sorry, forgot to say I AM ALL DONE WITH THE GRID. *Checks back. No, I didn't forget to say. I said so at 8:46.* LOL.
i did dig up that old relic of a plane love that sunset in wales. it is on my must visit list
Octarine - yes the sun was out here for about 10 minutes yesterday and about 2 minutes today..... we desperately need a sun filled day to raise spirits and heal viruses.
Sorry, Jac, must have missed it!!!!
Octarine - are you vacationing here in Illinois from Ireland? Or relocated?
AKnitter - my Dad worked for Lucas Aerospace and was in at the start during the French collaberation over Concorde. Incidentally, there was no fault with the plane itself. Debris on the runway caused the final fatal fire in the wing.
i would have love to have flown on it, love to fly. have passport and will travel anytime!!!
Concorde's fuel was stored in the wings, you see. The debris hit the wing. Nuff said.
might there be a clue lying about for the en 7/32?
I'm with you, ak!!!! All I need is the time and the money!
en7/32 - what you call your foes.
en 7/32 - not your friends
ty jac, i always miss the obvious
OR plural of the boards you use to file your nails
If someone is not your friend they may be your en***. (Then plural it.)
or allies
Grant - I think it was either nail files or 'anti-allies' in this case.:-)
Hi Everyone!
getting very sleepy.... must go hibernate.... good nite all. *hugs* sleep well Jac - it's very late, *mamabear taps foot on floor* you really must be getting to bed, my dear!!!! LOL ciao!
Hi JW! bye JW!
Sorry Tiffany won't go away. She is still stuck on 80's day.
nite mamabear
It's no good. I've been bursting to ask this for months. It's only something I see folks from USA use... what does 'ack' or 'ak' mean??
Nite Mamabear. Hi JW.
nite ak! not true, JW - you have a lovely beach scene!
thought I could piggyback on 9:06. En nail files??
general exclamation of surprise or consternation
jw tiffany did go away!
ak could be me!
ack = acknowledge
JW - I see a palm beach. Grant - em*** boards. Like sandpaper.
Babblephish - Thank you!
when I said "ak" I meant aknitter
AKnitter - I think, in Mama's post, the 'ak' was you.
LOL! I just knew Mama would have to come back for a last look.:)
ak = me ack = sigh, disgust, arghh
;-)
er6/30?
Octarine - I think the 'ack/ak' you describe is probably the meaning I was seeking. Lianakate (where is she lately?) used it a lot. Is it a Jewish expression? It sounds it.
er 6 --- if you were from the u.k and your frien just arrived you might say he was h*** *** as opposed to being here later
no particular ethnographic basis afaik I think it is most likely from a comic or cartoon
Yup, they're both e 7/32's, but 9:06 asked about en
weird, I could have sworn I tried that to no avail earlier thanks!
er6/30 - take an he4 word meaning 'in this place' and remove the first letter, then add a three-letter 'no' word meaning 'right at this moment'.
minus the h octarine and with appologies to those in the u.k.
Well, AKnitter, us lot in UK always say it as 'heretofore'. Yeah right!
ah the english language, such a strange creature
got that right. I remember being struck by my German Teacher telling us there are no spelling bees in Germany...if you can say it you can spell it.
i might be able to say it, perhaps even spell it but type it?? forget that. my delete key is worn out
Thanks for letting me know that Tiffany left the building. She wasn't going away easily. Glad to lose her finally. Now I will have to stay awhile to enjoy everyone's beautiful scenery.
The English language is a wonderful, ever-changing mongrel of a language and I love it. Without it, games like Babble, the unmentionable other game that sounds the same, and crosswords would be barely possible. But for beautiful languages of other kinds, one need look no further than Gaelic and Welsh.
And a wonderful good evening to all!
my grandmother was from scotland. i loved her words for different things. i still often use them ... anywhoooo
You know, once you know the alphabets for those last two I mentioned, they're not so hard. Well, not until your teacher says, 'That's what the book says but, actually....'
Flowery Wolfie! HELLO! *HUG* How's the mum-to-be?
I loved the old Onion article "Clinton deploys vowels to Bosnia"
Hi Grey Woulf
(*JAC*) -- she's doing fine -- just had to run out to the pharmacy to pick up her meds :) Hi JW!
Octarine - That's not a version of the English to German joke is it?
mamabear, sorry didnt see the ? From Eire orignally and I like the flag better next to my name:-) Ive been in Evanston for the last 30 years
So I see I just missed Mamabear :\
re 5/10? NOT the plural of re 4/4, the other one.
you mean like Mark Twains' essay on German? No, they mention sending vowels to places like Tygzhr and Shplxyx
re5/10 -- to view again
Has there been any word from doxy1 about her daughter?
GW-thank you! Too many r's and e's in the grid!
Anytime, harp :) (*hug*) I agree!
LOL, Octarine. Sorry for delay. I've learned Welsh but I just went off on the Net looking for Irish Gaelic phrases. Made the mistake of clicking on 'The Alternative Irish Gaelic Dictionary' and found some stuff I'd rather not know! *Blushes*
Wolfie - by my clock it's 12th Jan now and it's YOUR themed icon day - comics. Is that comic books or comedians?
Jac -- comic strips -- specifically I was thinking web-based comics :)
That wolf looks ever so nice and fluffy amid those flowers! LOL.
Doesn't he though, Jac? ;)
Web-based? Means I can't to The Beano much then. Weebl & Bob maybe?
sn 5/10? um, what are web-based comics? How would I find them? Will I be offended? bored? Or will I have another addiction? Should I proceed cautiously or throw caution to the wind? If you can't answer all of my questions, perhaps you can try at least answering the first one?
Jac -- use which ever you want -- when I suggested it, a lot of folks said "what are web comics?" so Babbler widened the scope --- not everyone has the time or twisted friends I do to find them ;D
sn5/10 -- to address in a condescending manner (usu. with a curled lip)
ack, much trouble with me 7/32. does anyone have it?
ty gw
Think Snidely Whiplash stadning over fiar maid on the railroad tracks
I'll bet that Wolf's a bit like my cats and will bite eventually if you stroke him! Mind you, a wolf is a canine, and they don't tend to do that. You can watch tv and stroke a dog and not worry he's gonna bite through your wrist while your attention's away. A cat? Not so! They get so much pleasure out of being stroked that their survival gene kicks in and tells them to stop being blissful and be AWARE! Then they have to either scratch or bite! They're sorry afterwards, but they do have to do it.
and no, I cannot type to save my life
Octarine - for the life of me (though I have the word) I cannot see how the fair maid tied to the railway tracks clue works?? She's yelling, 'Save me!' I guess?
Web based comics are a hit or miss proposition, harp --- some are very cool and some can be quite offensive -- one that fits both categories is "Something Positive" --- it is so over the top that you can only say "Man I wish I could do that for real!" I highly recommend it :)
so 6/18?
But basically, web comics are just that -- comic strips that are only published online One of my other personal favorites is "Two Lumps" - The adventures of Ebenezer and Snooch I've mentioned it before -- the main characters are kitties :D
kitties? oh boy! I'll check it out!
me7/32 - think of a small child, forlorn after losing a race on school sports day. He or she might say 'me lo***' (present tense of to mislay something). Change the 'l' for the 3rd vowel in the vowel list.
sorry Leslie -- don't have the me7 yet
'sok i got it! done! hooray and thanks!
so6/18 -- a gala event, a ball
Was it my clue that got it for you, LeslieAnn? Was it? Was it? LOL.
looks like a misspellling of an apology
WELL DONE, LA.
so6/18 - French evening 'do'.
I think it was missed earlier -- Has anyone heard from doxy? --- is her daughter OK?
please ...just a little insanity...please...
Hi, Jac! (a la MamaBear)(is she gone to bed?) And Grey, and harp, and LeslieAnne, and anyone else I know that I haven't seen for a while!
ren! Hi!
hey jb...8)
Hiya, Rennie. Did you get the shoofly pie I sent you? LOL. Wolfie - I didn't miss your message about Doxy but I've not seen her. Not been around for all of the logs lately though.
Jac -- BTW, I wish you had been here last night-- my mom showed up -- I emailed her about Babble and she came by to check it out -- her screen name is hootowl :)
yummmy yummy ate it all!!! lol shoofly pie - that's for me!!!
I told a friend today by email about Babble. She's already signed up, but I don't know if she's here. Kathleen H - are you going by another name?
JBSAnno - Mama's been quiet for a while now, so I do believe she has really gone to bed, cough and all.
Hi JB and ren!!! (*Hugs*)
{{Hugs}} back. Sorry I missed your Mom, GW!
Don't worry JB, she'll be back ;)
It's a bear being sick in the winter. Pun not intended!
I bet it'll be a hoot, GW! (sorry, I'm just punny tonight...)
Ren - that was the crumble-topped one. I suppose you'll be wanting a chocolate-topped one next?*Jac grins evilly, seeing a way to transport the choc from her own home to Ren's, seeing as there's a 'revised eating programme' going on in her house right now.* No! Don't anyone DARE say the word 'diet' or Paul will panic and feel hungry.
Hey, do you guys like my rainbow? Our apartment during school in Center City in 2001 had HUGE windows, great views.
hey wolfie!!! say a young dude riding his bmx bicycle today balancing a load of clean laundry and thought about you 8) made me smile 8)
Don't look now, Jac, but I think you said the "d" word...
Wolfie - I'll be sure to look out for your Mum and say 'hello'.
transfer that pie this way please mistress....8) beg,,,plead...grovel...
The 'd' word isn't in today's grid. It's been in about 3 grids since Xmas though! HUMPH!
JB -- your rainbow is quite beautiful :) Ren -- rough day?
help, please, with the ye 6/24.....
mon -- double the consonant in the ye5
*Jac throws a choc-topped Shoofly Pie over The Pond in the general direction of Ren's house.*
on5 please?
And JBsAnno jumps REALLY HIGH in an attempt to one-hand snag a flying pie!
GW- stubborn, feisty
when i lived in the carribean, i followed a rainbow to the end and sat w/ it shining on me...since the water was at 3000 fathoms...i wondered if there was some pirate's gold there
GW- I mean, anagram of stubborn, fiesty
Thanks harp!
Thanks, GW - it was so glorious set against that wolf-gray sky!
oh, ren, I would love to see the end of a rainbow!
Forecasting intermittent periods of AFK to feed cats and get ready for bed, so if I don't answer a question, I'll catch up!
jb - your skin kind of changes colors while you're in it..it was a wonderfule exp.....
LE 5/12?
ok, the or's are eluding me as is the oy7 Help, please?
le5/12 -- used to make -ade
GW add an O to your ye 6/24
*Jac grins as she now sees a money-making idea coming from JBSAnno's post about jumping high to catch the pie. 'Get Your Figure Back - Exercise With Jack! Jump High. Catch the Pie! Look good in the sack!'* (That's the chant, and also the name of the video, book, tv series. You saw it first here, folks! ROFLOL.
thank you
any kind of clue for SE 8 greatly appreciated
can i have a cllue for ye 6 32 and me 7 32 please....
LOL mistress - love it jump high catch the pie!!! may i design the workout costumes???
GW--Bill Clinton is a fo**** president. Drop the first letter.
Ren - sitting at the end of a rainbow is something most people never get to do. (Though rainbows are circles, you can see that in the air.)
se + se 4 5 + os 4 4
thanks ren -- two down, two to go
Wolfie - oy7. A realy silly word that puts an 'o' in front of your plural affirmatives. I said earlier that it probably describes Meg Ryan's famous scene from 'When Harry Met Sally', after which the old lady told the waitress, 'I'll have whatever she's having!'
ne 4/4?
Got that from harp, Jac -- I meant the other 2 or's :)
ne4/4 - the name of the Scottish loch in which the Monster resides.
ne4/4 -- Loch Ne**
jacula - i know - it was during my running away and finding myself period of adjustment...made me fell special...
Thank you jac
Ren - you can design the costumes for my classes. E-mail me the results.
Ren - feeling special is a precious thing. Hang on to any moments like that.
thank you mistress.... i will...8)
*YEUCH! Jac spits a mixture of white wine and soda water onto her monitor.* Okay, folks, I tried it in the name of our 'revised eating plan'. What a DREADFUL thing to do to a good wine! From now on I wll stick to my former plan of one glass of wine then 2 glasses of water... Splutter, splutter...
Last word, and I'm dizzy, can't see es 4. Too many possibilities for monkeying...
Harp - Have you got es5/10? If so, take an 's' out of it.
Yay -- only 29 left! Booo! -- they are all E's and M's ;D
Sorry folks, still choking over that horrible wine/soda mix here.
Jac: Forget the soda!! Just drink the wine.
jb - we can run away and become rainbow hunters!!!
JoJoFunLvg - That's all very well, but what about my calorie count for the day? Oh, sod it! I know you're right!
Jac: So you are trying to lose weight?
JoJo - Not trying but doing so! I'm an old hand at this one. Thing is, as I've got older, I've got to appreciate the taste of a wine more. So, anything that depreciates that is abhorrent!
Thank you Jac, that did it!
How does adding soda affect your calorie count? Just drink the wine and enjoy it. Add a little moderate exercise and you're good.
hey torg!!!
Torg - have you any idea how many calories there are even in a dry white wine?
Hiya ren! For some reason, I just got the ho7 & ho8!?!?!?
Jac: We have all gotten older. But, I have lost 75lbs in the last 8 years. Kept it off too. Tor is right. Excercise is the key. But, counting calories was also a key in my success. Forget the low carb thing, you gain the weight back.
ok all of you wonderful people...i'm going home in about 5 minutes....byeeeee!!!
hi rennie, jacula, gw, jojo, jb, torgone. Jacs, judging from your pics, you don't need to lose weight, do you? I will not finish grid as have been sick today and now keep getting tossed off line. Quich hello and oh no. I'll go rainbow hunting, ren.
90-110 calories in a dry white wine. something my wife won't listen to.... bitches about the size of her butt until I use the recipes from Truestar, then eats double portions and sucks back at least two glasses of wine with supper...
BJ - You're not wrong there! Re the calories, I mean.
oh mab...i was just about to log off - i'm so glad to see you. how are you??
hmmm. relationship not going well, brandyjack? I'm so lucky to not have to lose weight; I get deathly ill any time I actually reach normal weight! It's like aversion therapy for eating!
I know, I know. I like ale myself. But I don't try to water it down. That would ruin it. I TRY to either drink less, or work it off with exercise. I'm not preaching. I'm way overweight, and I don't exercise enough.
mab -- sorry to hear that -- on all counts (*HUG*)
Hi Mab: Sorry you are sick. I think I need to lose weight, but my husband thinks I am anerexic. Not even close.
thanks gw. I'll live. I think.
ok love to you all....logging off and driving home...8)
how's this, GW? *F5*
Bye bye ren. Be safe. Be cool. Be back.
I hope so, mab -- it would be lonely around here without you! REn -- safe journeys (*HUG*)
Drive safely, Rennie.
Ren: **hugs**
at work stil!!! drive carefully ren.
Anyone here still need any clues for the grid?
57 of them, Jac.
Well, let's see.... yep -- still have 27 to go now, still figuring out what I need -- spending too much time chatting again :)
Ey 7 pls?
AAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEWWWW WWWWW! Cat in the butter! Jazz - get off the table NOW! (licking her chops) See what I get when I ignore the chores for Babble? I hunt rainbows and jump for pies (and type in the occasional word on the grid, got 79 left to go), and the cat sneaks up on the table behind me and gets her licks in. Sigh. ho 7/30, anyone? Buehler?
ocular items + a small number of any item. Wierd word.
ho 7/30, they kick in when your in your teens, and stop working when you hit menopause
JBSAnno - ROFLOL. That sounds like one of my cat's to a tee! The other can't be bothered to expend energy jumping up to nick things, she just waits with her mouth open below when anyone is preparing any kind of food. She's have loved being around when my kids were little - the dog used to do what she did beneath the high chair!
That was for the ey7 which i just got (after being made aware of its existence). The ho7&8, well you've heard the old joke about 'how do you make a prostitute (sub much smaller word) ****, don't pay her". Or a condition that most teenage boys suffer from: ho***** poisoning.....
ever notice, jb, how cats never feel contrite? She knows the butter on the table is not for her, but if she thinks she can get away with it, well, there she is. feline delinquency.
TY, Nia, got it! (and losing them, at the same time. It's the dreaded "M"!)
thanks brandyjack for the ey's.
Nia: My list, I have no ho7/30. I have a ho7/36 and a ho8/50.
Jb, YW and .....ROFLAO
i've still got 85 to go....
I keep chuckling at the log tonight! "No ho" ...better not go there! Good clues, BJack, thanks!
ho 7/ 36 ho 8/ 50 are all the ho's....
you're right JoJo, I just copied and pasted from the request...
BJ - you naughty man! Why am I not surprised that you didn't hold back from telling that 'ho7/8' joke?
mab, is it delinquency if they don't think they're doing anything wrong? It's only wrong if they get caught!
hey, someone asked.......... always give in to temptation, It may not pass your way again....
Dogs have masters, cats have servants. Who are the fools in both cases?
BJ: Sounds good to me!
that's a philosophy I can embrace, Brandyjack!
rice pudding with rum soaked raisins....... excuse me while I go get some more....
boo hoo! It's 11:45 here, and another 5:30am wake up call. Have to leave the party, folks! Jac, take a big swig of wine only to wash out the soda. ren, I'll be looking for rainbows in my dreams. Oh, and I missed the pie!
It's worth the purr, Jac!
JoJo - at this time of night/morn here in UK I daren't even try to comment on your post of 'BJ sounds good to me!' I can only thank the Lord above that my other half isn't signed in here to reply to that post.:)
Jac, she did have a colon in there after BJ... (eats shoots and leaves)
Nyuk nyuk! BJ Sounds good to me too! Nitely nite JB.
I know, JBS, but I chose to ignore it - earthy Taurean that I am. *Shrugs.*
G'nite JB -- sweet dreams!
Jac -- you naughty girl! ;)
Torg! Control yourself! We don't want a messy log.
Night, Tor, GW, BJ, ren, mab, JoJo, harp, Niamh, and the Shining Ones who show up on the stats but not on the chats! Off to dreamland!
Wolfie - Who me? *Taps foot and whistles in an innocent manner.*
mi6 please?
Well, someday someone will ...
night JB!
*peeks in - reads jac's last post* what in the world is going on in here? without me?
not a blessed thing.......... (ok, so I'm dense)
ROFL
JBS - Yes, that reminds me - the talk of those who show up on the chats but not on the stats - where is Chessy? Chessy has been vying with me for weeks now on the stats.
*looks at everyone all squinty-eyed*
mi 6 is an eye problem... constriction of the pupil
Everyone: Got to sign off now. Will watch TV with my hubby of 34 years. He gets a bit upset when I don't join him to watch shows HE wants to watch. So tomorrow guys.
morning everyone. just two words to finish this morning, starting with the last ri6/21?
Thank you, Niamh
Laters JJFL.
YW Grey Woulf ;))
Now if only I could figure out which of the me's I am missing -- I am still down by 10 m's before I move to the E's
later JoJo
Mi6 is part of the UK Secret Service. Oh, yes, I see, you want a clue for an mi6 word... I gave one earlier. It didn't seem to work when I talked about a small child lamenting over losing a race though. Try mi + red flowers often sent in dozens by lovers. Then take the first letter off and add the 2nd vowel in the vowel list.
So long, JoJo -- Kirsten gets the same way every now and then as well (*hug*)
GW & Nia; **Hugs**
Wolfie - All partners get like that, even me, as a seasoned 'on-liner', if their partner spends too long chatting to 'those faceless people on the computer'.
well how's the night shift tonight? I'm doing my homework and trying to google up the answers to doublecheck...
I don't believe I only just now found the cat sounds!
Woulf - I finally got you in this afternoon! But you have to IM me to give permission. Then we can yak!
Hi Mom! Ok, I'll take care of it :)
Hiya Temple again. HOOTOWL - Hello! Welcome Wolfie's Mum.
* puts out hand to shake* nice to meet you, - as one owl to another!
that last ri6/21 is now my last word. havn't finished a grid in at least 10 attempts. life can be just sooo exciting!!!! ri6/21 help please?!?
Wolfie - you do have 3 cat sounds, I hope? The first and second are the obvious ones, and the last, a 4/9, means stable buildings but sounds like a cat sound.
Yes I do Jac
lshult, ri + Dorothy's Auntie + lover's flower (- the r)
OK, earlier I was having trouble with on last ME 5/12. So I am going to list the 18 ME's that I have. If someone can figure out the one ME 5/12 I need, I would really appreciate it. ri6/21 actually means 'Full of chinks, cracks, or crevices'. However, think of the edge of a cup or something, the ri*, and then add the lovers' flower and take off the 'r'.
Folks - I am gonna be a bit quiet for a few while I bring my mom up to speed -- not ignoring, just focusing :)
thanks everyone, finally finished one. any clues needed before i start working?
you are missing a 5/12 after the 5/16, supposed to be two twixt the 16 and the 6/21
bt:ingular of last 6/21...
boatierra, it's one of the me 5/12' s after the 5/16... they both have the same third letter
Its a color
Wolfie- that's fine, as I'm sure you knew.
bye all! happy babbling!
Hi Temple Owl - you a collector too?
bye Temple Owl
pardon me, hootowl?
'Night, 'night, Temple. Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.
How's everyone doing? I don't think I'll still be here for the flip tonight, but I can give a few clues....
Sweet cheeses. Thanks so much folks. That one was really bothering me. I figured it out. :)
hello harpjane :)
Well done, BT.
Harp - I need no clues but you can play your harp for us... please.
thanks, jacs - but i have 1 1/2 hours more of problems to do before I sleep % [
Temple Owl, I think she wants to know if you collect owls... my grandmother did, she's past on now, put I keep one of her owls on my computer table to watch over me
Harp - seriously, one day you must make a sound file for us and post it in BabAnon.
Sorry Temple Owl - Woulf said you said hello so I did too. Trying to IM him, do the puzzle and keep up with messages. Pain!
I will, Jac. I promise. It's one of my New Year's Resolutions. Others: lose 25 pounds, learn to make creme brulee, don't make any mistakes at work....
i did when i was in school- school mascot - and i will still pick one up now and then...to go with my pussycat collection
learn to make creme brulee hun harpjane? I hear tell that involves fire...
HootOwl - I know just what you mean! Get Wolfie to give you my messenger addy. My son used to like owls and collected them. My fave owl ornament, one I got myself, is 3 owls in a tree. 2 are upright but one is hanging upside down. The motto on the ornament is: 'No one is always right.'
harp - speaking of creme brulee, you've reminded me - one of my friends is raving about a recipe for creme brulee french toast - a make-ahead for special mornings - i intended to post on babanon the day it went down
Creme brulees require a blowtorch for the finishing of. Not too much fire really.
I will tell him jacula. Temple owl I have to try and concentrate on the info woulf is trying to feed me so I'm going on the side for a while
night, hoot. nice to meet you...
Well, my husband knows how to weld, so I figure he can handle the creme brulee torch if I get too nervous!
Hoot - I've just told your son a thing or two, so, hopefully, between us, we'll get there. LOL.
my friend is an excellent chef and she was talking about needing a torch for creme brulee... I'm not so sure she should operate a torch :)
no torch in french toast recipe - just oven : )
Night Temple Owl - I make my french toast in a frying pan - cast iron!
you should post that recipie Temple... maybe she'll be satisfied with that and not try to use a torch... she's very accident prone
lol niamh - i can definitely relate! the oven comes into play to make a large amount at one time - and when you do that and soak bread overnight, it takes a different kind of heat to get it fully cooked.
French toast is fine, as are oven chips, if you have an electric, fan-assisted oven. If, however, you still like cooking with gas, like I do, then the recipes don't work!
it sounds very good... *wonder what kind of yummies I have in the kitchen* you're making me hungry!
Evening all, down to the last few, need clues for ye 6/24 re 6/30 tu
ye6/24 - more than one affirmative.
really? i did not know that. can't remember if friend has gas or electric. she made it for christmas morning gathering.
re6/30 - scatters the seeds again.
Temple - gas heat is a moister heat than electric heat, and then fan-assisted dries things out faster.
Hence all the different instructions in my recipes in BabAnon.
i had electric once - and it was once too much - burned everything top of range
Brilliant, thanx, jacula and c'est fini....
yay, chic! with time to spare! really going now - bye!
Well done, Chic!
So tomorrow's theme for GW. is it comics as in comedians or comic books?
or comics as in dilbert....
Congrats chic! I keep falling off line tonight I think because of the weather, but maybe it's because of my over-enthusiastic clueing last night. Ah, justice, darn!
Hi all. Waiting for the flip
I've got to get some things done before bedtime.... night all!
..or comics as in comix ..
comix as in comix folks! any comic strip including or especially online

Wolfie - I think Mum's up to speed. Q is - are you? LOL.

Pretty much, Jac -- I am not gonna finish -- still have about 15 to find and too busy getting caught up with Mom -- But I did get all the 7's and 8's so I'm good ;D
