Hi all!
Hi, BrandyJack! I see you are back to your usual "face"

It's late for me but since I hopped on I wanted to say hello :)
evenin' Toesock!
May need to refresh. I don't have to because I am usually returning from Babbler's Anon and that is effectively a refresh for me. I have never managed to generate the stats and get back to the board before the board's stats are ready.
((((((mama))))))
hi tsm...i need to give you a web site - i had on a pair of toes for mrp tonight and promised i would relinquish it to you - i'll find it for you....8)
Which is good becasue sometimes my stats are a little bit off.
Toes, you HAVE to see the icon that renfield used in yesterday's grid. Said she was gonna send you the site; A picture of toes making a peace sign!
I just peeked at your bio, ToeSock! I didn't realize you were a fellow Chicagoan!

brandy - you're the go in my gto!!!!
I am going to turn in early tonight, folks -- distracted by other things and need some sleep -- see you tomorrow -- it my day off so I'll be around at some point during the day -- Kristianna wants to see her Badgers ;D ((**Hugs**)) for everyone!!!!

no...not on tv.....but in a car show.....or at my cousins house...8)
LOL...about 90 average, but it only takes 20 mins to get to M62 from our house!! It was sooooo quiet, it felt really strange. We just called to see friends who have a B&B. Stayed a couple of hours and came home!!

My hubby hates Harleys, he`s more into sports bikes though........Good job we`re all different isn`t it!!??!!
right on that lotti - the harely is more road cruiser and a club bike in our area...i started on a little vespa when i lived in the carribean, then progressed to a kawasaki dirt bike when i came back to the states...do you like to ride?
No....the thought of it terrifies me!!! LOL I love to see and hear bikes....especially with race cans on. And you can`t beat the sight of a man in leather!!!!! ;)
How can you all get the pictures???!!!
omg lotti you are so right!!!!
what?????????????????????????? ???
tella - click on going pro and you can get the stats, a bio, and post and icon.
Tella you have to pay the lifetime fee to go pro!!!
Tella - if you sign up to be a pro-Babbler - you can have an icon, flag and bio and you also have access to the stats panel
Well, I must go for now. I want to get my ironing out the way before my kids arrive back home :) BFN.... :)
later lotti 8)
ironing????????? yuck!!! have fun, lotti!!!!!
howdy.... I just signed up... woooo
howdy molecule
welcome molecule!
well I have half!!! gonna save the other half for tomorrow!!!! good nite all!!! *hugs*
nite mama b....i'm watching a movie so i may sign off as well...8)
why won't it let me add certain words.... for example, 'night'
g'nie rennie - hope you sleep well!!!!
the letters have to be "touching" molecule..... up and down or diagonal.
molecule - up at the right hand corner of the screen is "Babble Rules" - that might help you
ahhhh... thanks :D
one more thing, molecule - click on "Babblers Anonymous" on the right and then on "General" and "stats" that will give you the letter list for today's puzzle. scroll down for he "2 letter" list - gives you a list of all the words, i.e., ar 4/4 means it's a 4 letter word worth 4 points that starts with AR....
thanks mama - you too - this is a claire trevor movie.. molecule - you amy want to read babble rules, it will give you direction.
cool thanks, woo... I have 4 words so far :( .... I checked out those scores... is it really possible to get up to a thousand? Or is that thoe total score all up?
molecule - today's puzzle has 171 words worth a total of 2004 points.
yeah I get it.... I suck
no you don't molecule!!! Once you get the hang of it, you'll be surprised how they just POP out at you!!! LOL
hahaha.... yeah, I guess
Molecule - where are you located?
you've got 24 hours molecule to get the words, and there are some word sites when you get stuck, plus the clues others give here.
Perth, Australia
i'm in houston texas usa
Well, I don't know what time it is in Perth, but where I am in Chicago, Illinois it is 1:45 am, so I think I need to be signing off and getting to sleep pretty soon!
hehe, it's 3:45pm here
mama bear and i are in the same time zone, she's in the north usa and i'm in the south usa...so i won;t be here much longer either...
Well, welcome to Babbleonia, Molecule - have fun!!! Hope to see you again!!!! (be warned - Babble is VERY addicting!!!) LOL
:D thanks.... yeah I'm kind've hooked already :P
Molecule - the chatlog is kind of quiet right now, but at the bottom (right above the message box you type in) it says "show all messages" - if you want to get an idea of the chatting that goes on click on that and scroll down.... lots of fun people and fun chat!!!
Molecule - I think we are in the same time zone - it is 3:55 pm here in Hong Kong.
really..... that's crazy, we are in the same time zone
well that's it for me.... good nite all!!!! *bear hugs*
Goodnight..
you sure it's 3:55pm ??
Nite mama.
huggies back mama... hi dianne!!
Hi ren - how are you?
i'm doing good dianne - how about you?
I'm doing great - it's a lazy Sunday afternoon for me and then a relaxing dinner out tonite - what could be bad about that?
HAIL AND HELLO
Hi blaze - check out the H in the bottom row.
hey blaze, hey... if I sign out and come back on later, will my score reamin the same, or will it be wiped out?
sounds very relaxing dianne....i could do w/ a dinner out hi blaze
moelcule./... it will all be the same.... and OOps signed in before looking LOL
thanks
ren - this will be the 3rd one this week but the other two were business - this is just "getting together". Blaze - I knew that's what happened - I thought it was funny :)
Dianne me too as soon as I saw it..... te he
Hi Blaze -- you signed on when I wasn't looking.
Oh here I am for a bit... I may need to pop out and do Taxi duty..... but not for a bit...
114 in two hours -- that's about the best I can do. I'm on my way -- may see you tomorrow. :)
good night... I will plunk a way for a bit more
Morning all.
Morning Sprite! Long time since we have been on at the same time, it's a quiet log today but I guess thats Sunday mornings for you!
Hi Sprite
Hi Dianne, good to see you.
Hi FMitch and Dianne! It is Sunday morning here, yes :) No worries, you will get to my morning soon enough... after a few hours sleep maybe? I am having a blonde day or this is a tough grid. Can't seem to find them. How are you doing?
Hi Fmitch - we haven't been on together in a while. How are you?
only 42 words in 1 hour..... :(
Sprite - I'm way ahead of you - it is almost 5pm Sunday afternoon for me.
Glad to hear I am not the only one having difficulties, Molecule! Dianne, you are right - those time zones always get the better of me.
greetings folks :)
sherb! Long time no see :)
very well thanks Dianne, not been able to play at my usual time for ages and work has been at the forefront. The grid is hiding the words well today, found 75 but have to go out shortly.
hi sprite :) ...I've been more of an evening Babbler recently... good to see you again...
I love to play when the grid changes, but can't always make it. This morning I had a lot of other things to do before I could steal some time for myself, which is now. Am enjoying myself, though the grid is giving me a real hard time today.
hi sprite
Blaze! *hug*
I'm remembering why I like playing early...
(( to all))
Hi Blaze and Sherb too. I agree Sherb it's great to see the gang again!!!!
And why would that be, sherb? ;)
hi Blaze :) hi FMitch :) sprite - because it's usually a bit more peaceful, and everyone's working hard to find words... later on, the log gets full of people asking for help with their last 27 words because they don't want to use any aids... can get tedious... (sorry, I'm obviously in a critical mood today...)
must be off .... taxi job done.. a few words done and now all the chicks are in and this hen is off to the nest... see you tommorrow.
Asking for help is also an aid, right? ;) But I know what you mean. This IS a nice gang to play with.
good night Blaze, sweet dreams :)
Night Blaze, sweet dreams!
Nightey night Blaze, can't believe I have to go too but must depart for a while. Good to see you all again.
sherb.... I have just been dealing with an obstinent teenager for the last hour and a half...believe me this is nothing.... Love ya Sherb (())
Bye FMitch, see you soon!
Love ya too Blaze ((hugs)) :D
later FMitch :)
Okay... found a couple of the L-words and start to understand why I can't seem to find too many words today. Some strange customers these are!
sprite - there are so many words that I've never seen before and (of course) many, many that I have no idea what they mean. Just have the A's to finish now.
Am stuck at 143, but I have started to try anything remotely likely to be a word, and it is paying off. WTG for you, only the As! I still need something of every tile.
still playing with the T's... nothing too strange so far, but then who knows what I haven't found yet!
Found the A6-7 combo by trying something I only know as a name, and it took... but I can't find any def on internet. Really strange grid this is.
this is hard work... off to get coffee and the papers... enjoy your day sprite and hope to see you again soon :)
isn't it hard?????
Good Morning Everyone, It is 5:22 am where I am.
morning all how many words today please
morning rosalind ... 171 Now you've gone pro, you can see the total when you click 'flip to stats'... at the top.

This is a tough one. time for a breakfast break
I am off for breakfast now see you later
such a shame alizarin isnt spelt alizerin :(
'morning all is it cars today?
Hi Ste!
any hint for the li6 please?
Mr. P .... reptile :)
trish... I never ever ever EVER asked for that clue!! (embarassed)
I'll never tell.
good man, good man!!
If it makes you feel better, I monkey typed around it for an age before seeing it myself.
if I tilt my head to the left... I see it!
*tries this, and gets a crick*
38 left to find, time for a break. This one's tough, but interesting.
I cant find the la5/10 (2nd one) any hints!
la5/10 - la plus letter plus form of verb 'to be'
thanks haz!
You're welcome - I've just got started but won't have much time since we have guests coming for lunch.
Good morning one and all. I'll babble until the power goes out. We're having quite the winter storm here.
Good morning, gramma. Hope the storm causes no damage.
how many ha's!!?? I will see you in the morning... nite all!
It's snowin' & blowin' pretty good.
A good excuse for staying inside, then.
though this grid might rapidly drive you outside in frustration!
You said it! This is silly. I'm thinking , if the power did go out I'd at least have an excuse for not finishing.
looool yes! *starts doing a rain and storm dance*
morning all--this one's a bit of a bear, eh?!
Why yes it is
Ds done. that makes me feel a little better!
today that's a huge accomplishment!
Atalante, we should do that w/all the letters.... D-done, A-accomplished, F-finished.......
I'm blanking out the As from existence at the moment - those really are too painful!
B - beaten C - completed / conquered !!
You got it! W-whipped
G-Gone!
I like it ^-^
E - eradicated M - managed
Z- zilch left Morning everyone! :)
I-Interred!
Babble on. I have to get a little coffee.BRB
any clues for al6/7 combo please?
O- over
morning, Jen! Got snow today?
O - Overcome / overpowered / outwitted
S- smoted (to use Dr God's favorite word!)
Nope, no snow! But still tons of wind... it knocked out our cable, internet, and phone last night.
wow . . . my daughter's in the Western NC mountains and they've had 60-70 mph winds!
Not sure our top speeds, but I was walking the dog this morn and it just hurt!! Did you get anything the other day from the storms that went through the south?
nope, not here in Nashville but further northeast they got a bit . . . we've really had a crappy global warming winter so far :(
I probably shouldn't say this then - but I will :P Walking the dog this morning was soooo nice. We took her to some lovely woods, the sun was just about shining and it actually felt warm for the first time in weeks!
This winter hasn't been too bad, but then again, we just moved back to DC after having spent 3 years in Nebraska... so it doesn't take much to make it a milder winter to me!
no, go right ahead and enjoy warmer temps and a glimmer of sun, Atalante--can't begrudge you that ;-)
Doglet loved it - probably too much. She went swimming in some disgusting-smelling pond - ewww
ah, but for our pups, the more disgusting the better!
Good Morning, Jen! We're off to church, talk to you later! Me
of course! she came out black, brown and slimy green ...
any clue for la 5/10 - the first one??
Hey Mom! I should be here, cleaning Ethan's closet! :)
la 5/10 - a persian currency
thanks !! :-)
di 7 / 52
sorry Stef - working backwords today and yet to reach the d's
why do people work backwards? is there something deep and meaningful behind it?
I work backwards so I can see the current letter I am working on without scrolling back and forth.
Easy to keep up with words without scrolling down for one reason - the other - just because - nothing deep
ohhhh - good point! I'd never thought of that one!
variety maybe? i do it sometimes. i'm sitting with my daughter asleep on my lap. typing with one hand can be frustrating!
I wish Dr God would make the word list have its own little scroll bar so you could scroll up and down while keeping the puzzle in view!
brilliant idea. hope the creator is listening...
i've only got one z (the obvious one) clues anyone?
one is a country - one you do with zest - the other rythmes with the 'tubes' your blood runs through
thanks ohj - i've never come across that one before
Atalante i've just sent dr god an email about the word list let you know what kind of reply i get
oh cool Stef! Something like that would make life so much easier!
playing would be a lot easier for sure. any chance of some help with the last z?
last z - nothing
The last z means nothing. Bob Dylan's Love Minus Z---
i've got that one and the kingdom and the thing that rhymes with the blood vessel. still missing the fourth :(
Do you have the one that means: "A prolamine protein derived from corn, used in the manufacture of various plastics, coatings, and lacquers"
yay - got it! two of the words are countries!
Do you have the one meaning enthusiasm?
Or the one that is a synonym for passion?
Stef - ze + alcoholic beverage minus last letter
there's one meaning zest
thanks jen and hydra - got them now
any cluesfor ti6/21 please
baby girl is waking up. got to go make lunch. see you later - thanks for the help :)
neater
ros, ti6 means neater, ti7 is plural of someone who is neat
thanks ferrari
your'e welcome
18 words to find. need a break - back later!!
anyone have the first la5/10?
Nevermind... monkeytyped the right one!
Hi everyone :) Good afternoon and Happy New Year Ferrari :) Seems like ages ago we last crossed paths!!!
hiya lotti, happy new year too, haven't seen you or you mum for ages, are you better now?
Yeah (touch wood) I`m doing great for now!! Just need to shift some weight (lots of it) for when they finally give me a date for the gall bladder op!!! Mums been poorly with a really bad cough and lost her voice before christmas. She still hasn`t got her voice back to normal and is only just regaining the Babble mood!! :)
you both sound to be in the wars, hope you're both ok soon, lol
I`m sure we will!!!! Thanks :) How are you?
might need an op to remove a milk duct, went on Friday but don't want it doing but will probably have to though
Jen, I can't get it even with monkey typing. Can you give me a clue please?
I`m sure everything will be fine.......my neighbour is in the same boat at the mo. They`ve decided to leave it for now.
la5/10 is a Persian currency
thanks lotti, it's the thought of being cut open in such a soft area if you know what I mean, I need to lose lots of weight too but I'm sick of trying only to put it all basck on even though I've now worn out 6 exercise bikes!
Still can't get that la5/10. Have trawled Persian currency sites to no avail. Any other clue? Help!
it's got a double vowel in the middle
and starts in the bottom right
morning
afternoon here harp
Thanks, ferrari. Got it at last.
I know exactly what you mean!! I`m bigger than i`ve ever been at the moment. I stopped smoking 3 1/2 years ago and my weight gain is only just nicely stopping. I taped Paul Mcenna the other night so that may be my next move :/
Hi Harp :)
gave up smoking 22 years ago, had dreams that Id started again for years and years
Oooo I don`t get those. It repulses me now. If i go out to the pub, the smell of my clothes and hair when i get home make me heave :/
I never realised how antisocial I'd been til I gave up, yuk
There's an st word in the A2Z and the grid won't let me have it. Help, Dr God!
I`ll second that!!!! My mum gave up 1st, then me a couple of months later, my husband 2 weeks later and my good old dad has been stopped for about 18months now.
LOL Hydra.....I hate it when that happens!!!
Hello all
what is this "obvious z" I keep hearing about?
Hi yoink, how ya doing?
lottijw, it's the first time it's happened to me, and I feel outraged. In fact, I'm off to get coffee and choccy biscuit.
The most obvious Z for me was the one that means "nothing"
Not bad thanks Lotti, only got up about an hour and a half ago, enjoying a lazy day
Hydra, thats the only way to deal with it!!!!! LOL :)
I had a stitch in my ear and my daughter gave up 3 weeks before she got married with the same, she feels like a nonsmoker now, I'm so proud of her
morning, all
the most obvios z for me was the zest oneI missed the 0 one
Hi Angelsong :)
hi yoink, angel, lovely lazy Sunday
Good for you Yoink :) My husband and myself passed by your way last night, we went to Blackpool for a couple of hours to see some friends. It was great cos both kids were sleeping out at their friends :)
morning all! yoink-an hour and a half ago?!!! you crazy europeans!
Hi Smaller! Hey, I like my sleep
Hi Angel and Smaller :) Ferrari, did you go to Sowerby Bridge for that ???
Yoink, I'm in Mountain Standard Time and I just got up half an hour ago.....I'm seven or eight hours behind you!
Lotti, i haven't been to Blackpool in years. It's a fun place to go though
Harp, it was half past one my time, I am a very lazy person
Some friends of ours own a B&B there Yoink. It was really, really quiet........very odd!!
Yoink, I'm secretly jealous! I'd sleep till at least 10 every day if I could!
early 70's, November, Blackpool , wind, and a Labrador we had to leave in the car, a small citroen, and the poor thing got the runs, it was like a hosepipe let loose inside
Eeeeewwwwww!!!!!!!!!!:O
Hmm, too much information
missed your post lotti, Hebden Bridge it was, it's still the same guy and he has a 90 percent success rate, the dieting stitch didn't work for me though, perhaps I ought to try it again
mornin/afternoon all!
Morning EvaN
Blackpool was hilarious, I cleaned the car with wet paper towels, which because of the wind all ended up on a big hedge, yuk
Hi Eva :)
hi eva
Oooh yeah, I meant Hebden Bridge.......and what a nightmare to find!!!! I had the weight loss stitch, it worked in my left ear, but not in my right!! I got 2 stone off in about 10 weeks. Is it still off, errrr NO!!!
there's an echo in here
Captain caveman!!! Cool Eva :)
havent updated the icon since my favorite superhero...hehe
Eva, he needs to borrow the Flintstones car!!!! :)
any clues this day for the 2 Di7's...I'm stuck
You still there Smaller?
di7/32, samuel pepys was one
Pbr.....a person who keeps a journal.
di7/32 actress Cameron Di** + what people shout at a bullfight
Mac...great clue :)
great clue macuser I've got the di7/52 now

excellent clues -- phew! Will be back later after church. ty
Later Pbr :)
Hi Yoink, sorry yes, i'm still here computer difficulties, won't post any messages (and i need clues darn it!!)
thanks macuser! good clue
you're welcome :)
Smaller, I find that a hammer is a useful tool for solving computer problems
LOL, ah welll, that was the next strategy. I hid the icons so that seemed to help. what's the theme today?
Smaller, it's cars
well, then cars overpowered my 'puter do you think brandyjack would post a 4th letter list for like a half hour?
Done! Need to do some cleaning. Have a great Sunday all! :)
lol, you never know if you ask nicely enough
woohoo for jen! i have 21 words.
See ya Jen :) LOL Smaller........ only half an hour !!!!!! ;)
Lottu! lol, i was trying to not seem greedy : ) or lazy but....well....i'm both. Brandyjack -may we special this-time-of-day people have a 4th letter list?
oops! lotti (we always hurt the ones we love, sorry!) big hugs!
As long as it had the 3 letters prior to them, 4th letters on their own wouldn't be much use
well, that's my greedy laziness just assuming he would infer up to the 4th letter correction: brandyjack please post words. lol
LOL.....you guys :)
hi everyone!
i now have 22 words, i must slow down
Hi Sam :) No car icon??? :(
hi sam!
I got a 7, on my own! Happy days Hi Sam
Yeah Smaller, you don't want to burn out
howdy
oh cars one minuit!
Hi Molecule :)
hi Molecule! sam's french?
Hi Molecule
No Smaller...... Sam`s 9
Anyone know if there is a physical version of Babble, to play in person?
theres a game called boggle...its sorta similar
Kentagram, it's basically Boggle
Smaller, he usually spells better than me!!!!!
LOL lotti! so isn't 9 a little young for ....french(verb)
hi everyone
you could get a Scrabble game and a Boggle game and mix up the pieces, Kentogram. Just a suggestion.
kentagram the only game is boggle I think
hi poos'mom
Hi Poo's Mom
Jesus, I'm stuck on 45 words??? :(
I have a car... who ever said I was french... BONJURE POO'S MUM!
Hi Poos mom :) (((Mab))) How are you??
lotti, i know it's just so wrong! Miyavi fan is so much more intelligent than me too. not fair. ..thankfully i'm meaner
Hey Sam! LOL
hi poo's mom! don't worry molecule, you are at least doing better than yoink, he has 7
Click on Babblers Anonymous, my molecular friend, under Frinds of Babble. There click on General and then Stats -- many wonderful, helpful things.
hehe
Hey! Smaller, she'll learn to be as bitter as you in time
babblers anonymous?
I'm done, anyone want anything?
Wow, Everyone has arrived at once - I didn't see the coach pull up! Afternoon all!!! Hi Sis : )
psst - at the right of the screen under friends of...
Wow Sam ..... cool car!!! (although it looks very hot)!!!! LOL Smaller, I know what you mean!!!
ohhhhh, cool... thanks :P
Hey Sis!!!! You ok??

What!? Ferrari - you're done already? I just woke up.
Good thanks Sis.... Happy washing up :)
so I see!
I'm having BIG trouble with the dr 5/12. Have the one with the plural and the one that's a y short of gloomy. Any help w/the other one?
See you Ferrari..... take care :)
does anyone know why I'm not in the rankings... my score is 440

bye Sam :D
Smaller, I haven't seen her in a while either
See ya Sam :)
dr 5/11 not wetter but dr***
i still have 22 words
Bye Sam.
ooo 23! thanks inge
At least you're consistent Smaller
still only 47...hmmmm, my vocabulary musn't be all that great...
Molecule - how long have you been playing?
this is my first day
This game has little to do with one's vocabulary really. Many many odd words, obscure, antiquated, etc.
yoink, i sensed some TONE in there
You will soon find the more you play the more words you find! FYI rankings are updated once a day when the old grid shuts and the new one is posted.
congrats molecule! mab, i definitely agree! and not just b/c it makes my ego feel better
lol, moi? Never!
mab, poo's mum, smaller, ferraru, yoink, molecule, smaller, fmithc, speedfreak sam, and lotti!
ahhhh... sweet :D
You haven't been playing long enough to have a ranking, wee Molecule. Read the bit 'about rankings,' and the rules. They should explain all.
Hi Temple :)
HI Temple Owl!
Hi temple!
Hay 72TO!!!! Yoink - still can't believe you didn't get up til 1.30 - did you have a very late night?
Hi Temple. Probably just hung over, Smaller. (joke)
Hello
Phew....what a list Temple, now take a deep breath in.......... and out!!!!!! Hiya :)
FMitch, I watched Pleasantville which started around midnight and also some American football playoffs, then I fell asleep on the couch and eventually got to bed at about 6am
guys - it is so blustery here - the lights are blinking!
Here too, Temple (western Mass). Yesterday the temp was in the 50s, today 20 and hideous snow.
mab! lol!
Hi all. How goes it?
Hello
LOL Yoink - you are incorregable (sp?)
hi lian!
Hehe, It'd be nice if the message box was up the top of the page..
smaller..hiya :)
hey lianakate! nice to see you!
lol molecule!
Nice to see you too, TEmp!..Wow ..my rating has gone waaaaaaaay down ..since I havent been playing...ACK
is this your 1st day back?
Hi Liana :) FMitch, yes, I am
would be nice if the chat area had scroll bars!
i must say - al 6 and al7 is a fine how de- do... i am clueless (so to speak)
hi angel
no..i got back from Mich visiting kids, and grandkids and all siblings..brought back a bad cold. I played a bit yestereday..but have been sick.aaargh.
fmitch and yoink, european spelling - inucorruegeuuubleu
ROFL!!!!!
oh is that what she meant! thanks smaller! Hi Lianakate, welcome back to the madhouse.
lol, smaller.. (have 69 words and am calling it quits for a bit...happy babbling, friends..(exits left)
Angelsong, that is a very good idea. You should suggest to Dr. G_d.
bye - i am ready to go after 25!
lol Smaller. Nice how you group the entirety of all the European languages into one there
Bye Liana. My goodness how quickly people come and go here.
and again with the TONE : )
'Ae 2 - ,Ae4x1,Ae6x1' ahhhhh... I don't understand this, can anyone help with the 2nd letter count stuff...?
lianakate, don't feel badly. Your score went down cuz you weren't playing. It's much worse when it goes down 'cuz you are playing.:{
al7 = al + consonant + di4/5. for the 6 drop the last letter of the 7
I thought so too, Yoink. A bit of welsh, french, scots, etc. By the way, do the Welsh use vowels at all? Hebrew doesn't, not formally.
molecule read the rules at the top of the page - all will be explained.
words, tone, body language... ah, if only we had Video Babble...
Ae 2 means there are two words in the grid that begin with ae. ae4x1 means that there is 1 4-letter word starting with ae. Hope that's clear.
SHERB! BITE YOUR TONGUE!!!
Another brilliant idea!
hmmmm.... thanks I guess :P
video babble? yikes! then i couldn't sit here in my robe and slippers!
They do Mab, just not as often as people who speak normal languages ;)
sorry fmitch - do you mean al + vowel?
lol... :D ...mixed feedback for that idea...
Doh 72TO I owuld like to say I was just testing you but yes I mean a vowel!
hmmm. I suppose one would feel the need to make an effort toward presentability with video. (tucks up strand of half up half down hair) But it would be fun to see Yoink's Sunday state.
oops gotta go! bye all! hi sherb, bye sherb!
No, it really wouldn't. Trust me
Bye Smaller! See you tomorrow
Bye smaller. Shall I dial 911 for you?
bye smaller... come back soon :D
tha's ok fmitch - i have decided to go down the list since this is a long one but that has disadvantages in solving that sometimes don't balance the advantages in record keeping...
bye smaller!
Well i`m taking another break. 114 and driving me mad now.....it`s not a kind grid today!!! May bbl. See ya :)
of course, I suggest Video Babble safe in the knowledge that Dr_God would be likely to take some time to get round to implementing it... after all, his developer's log says he's working on letting us see who's currently playing, but where is it?...
lotti - you know you will! bye now!
later lotti :)
Bye sis - good to see you Im off shortly too. TTFN
Bye Lotti!
Bye lotti :)
I'm so stuck on 48 words... I've got to make it to 50 atleast.. does anyone have less than 50?
bye fmitch.
Mol - I have 35, and I started 8 hours ago...
:P I guess that's okay then
46 words in half an hour, now struggling, how many are there today anyway?
Mol - have you tried Speed Babble?
haha..no, I only started this today, I've been playing for about 2 hours all up...
there are 171 words today.. I have 41 and started 45 min ago.
Thak you Sushi, now on 49 and about to give up... not much staying power today..
here's a hint to pile on a few points for those that need it. li 6/36 is who lives in Emerald City only this one is slimy
I'm on 49 too, I've got to make it to 50!
li 6/36?? I don't get it?
Whats speed babble?
thank you, for the li6/36, not a blue tongued one was it?
Emerald City is from the **** of OZ
The word starts with li, has seven letters, and is worth 56 points.
Six letters, 36 points.
I think I've got it... sure it isn't worth 36 points?
Yippee Molecule;its just as much fun solving the clues as finding the word, non?
Speed Babble is my name for playing the game in hurry, like when I get in late from work... I open up three windows - Babble, a2z and Babb Anon - and toggle between the three... finding words faster leaves more time for chat... :D
Ok mab, for that little slip-up you owe us a hint for a word that is worth 56 points :)
I got one worth 48 points
Spaghetti.... has anyone found spaghetti yet... that one is worth a lot
give us a clue... a good one... not too easy...
Thats what I do I thought you were talking about another game
bring it on molecule
Just post it in the ledger, Sushi. If I ever find a word worth that many points, it will belong to everyone.
I shrink my windows done to have them on one screen
any clues 1st lo4/6 and lo5/10? Looking for ages!
ha4/10 - a heat ha** in the summer, then take that as a root word and play around with endings to give you ha5/22 and 2 x ha6/36
lo 4/6 is a balcony in a symphony concert hall.
I've tried that, but reverted to full screen... guess I don't like being fenced in...
lo 4/6 - you have to start with the l in the top left of the grid. Then there's only really one possibility with the correct score!
Hi, Sushi, wow, it took me over an hour to get 40 words last night at the flip. I'm staying up wwwaaaayyyyy too late!
WOHOOO, I made it to 50... finally
Sherb, that's what I do with the windows, too - sometimes I print off a paper copy of the 2nd letter list so I can check em off. Good for off line Babbling at work, too!
Well done Molecule!
thanz sushi and kukana. Down to last 5 words, v frustrating!
Do you know which ones you are missing SJW?
did we ever get a clue for spaghetti?
hahaha!!
I think that's it, Temple. That's the word. Look harder.
good work Mol :D hi Anno :) ...I always print off the grid on paper... worse still, I have kept all the grids since I started playing... obsessive compulsive, or what?
Me too, Sherb - I've got a stack of Babble papers 4 inches high!
can some one give me a clue for the ai 6 i am missing pls.. i have the one thats got more to breath
today's tip for UK players... remember US spellings... Z not S...
Maybe Molecule would like to give us a clue for the 48-point word? Hmmmmm?
yes ho hum, both si6 and the 2 last ti s ti5/10, ti4/4 thought I'd tried every single possible combination, obviously not!!!!!!!
mab - thought there was a letter attached! : )
I had a word without a score. So I refreshed and the word is gone. It ended in ole. Any help? I think it was 7 letters
rolin - is it the one that's lighter than ai*, ie ai****
got that one sherb
si6/18 - mountain range si6/21 - Mister; fellow. Used as a contemptuous form of address
The other one is plural of the ai/5
Rolin, is the one that sounds like you made er4, pluralized? It is a lot like the other ai6.
thx kakuna....
inge: I think the clue was: Cameron di** pluse what people shout at bullfights.
inge - brace yourself for disappointment... sometimes Babble accepts phantom words, just to keep you on your feet...
thanks ho hum, got them!
any clues for the first la5/10 please
ti5/10 - pl of the 4 above it. ti4/4 - A beginner in learning something - guess thats all of us babblers huh?
I'm stuck on 51 words.. :( would anyone like to know a 48 point word... or can't I give away answers?
Mol - give us a clue...
there is an re7/48
Mab, yes that was the clue. but Sherb may be right I cant get the word back into the grid.
Just clues, Molecule, no actual words from the grid.
here's a clue for a different word... __________ make your muscles big but your little guy small.... ?? :P
Any help on the very first la5/10, please?
why isn't oralize a word...harrumphh
what would oralize mean?
the re/7 is what happens when you have an epiphany
I just didnt' re******* that word was in there.
Mol - what letter does it start with?
hahahaha
it starts with 'S'
synonym for vocalize I suppose sherb....or maybe we could ask Bill Clinton...j/k
huh, I've already got the 48... hence my point about US spelling...
Sherb it is a s7/32
got that one too... I'm working backwards... now on the O's...
hmmm.... has anyone ever had a lucid dream?
GoBraves - I see what you mean... :D
Thanks, Sushi - great clue for the re7!
I had another one lastnight... man, they scare the hell out of me
thanks sherb
still waiting for elaboratoin on the spaghetti clue mol
methinks that clue was a joke
ummm... italians eat it for breakfast lunch and tea???
how do you define a 'lucid' dream? ...all mine seem to involve me trying to run and getting nowhere...
well.. I can't tell if I'm awake until i see insanly looking figures, I usually scream that loud until I wake up again... only to find that I'm still dreaming, it trips me out a bit, I haven't had a pleasant one yet
'pasta' isn't in the grid...
lay off the tequila molecule j/k...mostly
Yes, Molecule, that's an example of an excellent clue, if the word were actually in the grid. Which is highly preferred by the way.
I've also had OBE's since I was around 11 years old... they're more scary than anything if experienced in real life
Atalante, I received a reply from Dr God about your scrollbar suggestion. Its due to be introduced shortly. Yay! Go us!
Mol - you need more help than I can give you... :D
Stef - I aw your post earlier - that is great news WTG!!!
mab - again with the TONE... love it!!
That's brilliant! Yey us times two!
yeah... you can say that I guess, I've researched it and a lot of people seem to experience what I experience
well i've had it for now - bye! BBL!
sorry for joking, Mol... I've never experienced anything like that, but it sounds unpleasant... :(
How old might you be now, mol? You say you've had the dreams since you were a child
How many 7-letter words are there today? I have 7...
C ya, T-Owl!
I turn 18 in ten days :D
Later Temple.
GoB - there are 11... and isn't it time you went Pro? :D
GoBraves, 171 words, 11 7letter words.
Help, still waiting for a clue on the very first la5/10, please? Advance thanks.
bye Temple :)
You will probably grow out of the dreams, Molecule. Will you miss them?
MAry - do you have the Scottish nobelman?
That molecule sounds like a smart baby (with a few issues) but bright. I'm waiting for more clues from ya.
Mary, I only have one la5 which is the Scottish nobleman, and it is probably the first one...Sorry. Can you give me clues on the other ones?
Mary la5 is currency, double the 1st vowel then go diagonally right and up.
JBs, I wish my cats knew how to drive. I would sit in the back seat and read.
oh and start with the lin the the bottom right hand corner
hehe, seriously no issues... just blown dreams, I always seem to see the same old recurring dream characters in waking life... only my dreams would make people think I have issues.. I'm pretty fine though :P
la 5/10 is supposed to be a Persian coin. I have researched all my sources and came up with nothing to fit that. Any help?
Thank you much, HoHum
that's kind've why I don't really tell my parents or friends about them.. only my bro, otherwise.. people might think i'm "crazy".. :P
inge - see Ho Hum's posts... on screen...
glad to help Mary
Hello, hello!
That's some car bunny.
anyway.. I'm stuck on 53 words... I'm tired too, goodnight all.. Happy Dreaming :P
*startled by the sight of a tank* ...er, hello bunny... :D
What kind of mileage do you get, say on the highway
bunny remind me to get out of your way when you go to the store!!!! 8) howdy you all...
night Mol... still puzzling that spaghetti... see ya soon... :D
about 5 if I'm not heavy on the pedal!
later mol
Thanks HoHum via Sherb. Finally got my coin.
Night Molecule. Hope you come back. 'Sweet' dreams.
the only spaghetti word I got combined with the currency clue /.....italian money
hi there ren :D ...I'm giving up on the pasta...
Molecule is very cryptic... I like it!!!
Hi Ren! I think that's sensible, Sherb. Thanks for recognizing the tone. I often for get to put (joke) or (teasing).
hey sherb, mab, gobraves,inge,sushi, jw, jb, mary...hope i didn't forget anyone.....still a little muzzy...
Thanks for a hearty laugh, bunny. Now I have to go and do some real work.
does everyone have their black and gold on today?
me too, mab... gets me in no end of trouble...
Hey Ren! Weren't you just here in the wee hours of the morning? Of course, I was also...When do we sleep?
hey nut.....what time do your steelers play today?
;)
hi there nut !! :D I'm in black, but not gold... should I change?
jw... i was...we were watching a claire trevor movie...and kept running it back so it took us 3 hours to see an 90 min movie....
one out this way ren, you'll have to make the proper adjustment for texas? that would make it what, 2?
oh definitely sherb, get some gold, i like when the steelers are underdogs
If my cats drove, they would pull off at every fish and chicken joint they came to. I wouldn't be able to read, but I sure be broke!
lol jbs
bunny, that's a VICIOUS vehicle! Who's driving? or do you have a remote?
morning everyone .... Huge grid today?
mine break me anyway, what with prescription diets and all.
hey tim
Just regular, I'd say, Tim. Nice icon.
I probably need one the the way I drive, killed alot of suspension systems. Curbs are more like "guide" lines....
hi there Tim :) ...5.30pm here...
hey ren :)
I need to look for a red one.
Pink.
68 Chevelle convertible........Swwweeeeet. ..
But red is better - it's a safety color.
any clues for the last st7/32? Please
oh dear bunny, sounds like you need those cars on tracks like at the amusement parks!
nice GTO, ren......
Red is beautiful, but the police seem to see red easier than other colors.
mac - sounds like someone who stretches their legs when walking...
thanks tim....like your ride as well!!
Hi, ren! Are you awake now? BTW, cool car. I've always like Mustangs.
See, I can't fit all my kiddos in one of these nice little red cars...
i'm trying to wake up jb...haven't made it yet...
great clue sherb. Thanks :)
Mustangs, TIM. Okay, I'm not awake yet! bunny - tank ren - gto tim - mustang babble - need 100 more words!
thanks mac :D you missed me out, Anno...
Sherb, I am not awake either and can't get your clue about stretching legs while walking. Can you please stretch my brain a little more? thanks
JW - think of some who takes long steps, or st*****
Jb .... mines a chevy.....68 chevelle
Not intentionally, Sherb!!! I'm not in the police, but your car does stand out in elegance, as mab's does in menancing sophistication...
So, now you know why a cat is driving my car - I don't have to know the make or model!
Hi All.... back again for a few mins :)
hey lot.......:D
hi lotti :D ...you look a little... squashed...
hi lotti.
lott, look out. If Ralph (the mouse) is driving, I don't know that I can restrain my driver!
Lotti doesn't like curbs either
But cute eh??!!!! It`s a micro machines Phat Boyz :)
hey lotti
You just rising Ren??
sherb, I think Iget you clue, but what comes after the d?
Big car you got there Bunny LOL!!!!
well about 30 mins ago lotti....watched movies all night...tried to get last work week out of my brain
JW - that's why I said 'sounds like'... a person who does this would normally be a *****er... just change the vowel...
Thats not a good sign when you can`t shut down!!! January is a crappy month too!!
Thanks Sherb...I was stuck on looking for an 'e'.
Hey, all, I'm here IAFK (intermittently away from keyboard) doing laundry, watching football, and picking up, so if I don't reply, I'm not ignoring you!
you are so right lotti..year end closings, month closings, taxes....blah, blah, blah....8)
y/w JW... I found it in the a2z... would never have thought of it otherwise... :)
Evening all ,any clues pleae for the 1st la5/10 im pulling my hair out with it!
hi caitlyn :) ...sorry, just started the L's...
still on a's!
we can swap clues later, bunny... I started on the Z's...
maybe someone should start in the center so we can cover all areas....
go for it, ren... the centre ground is yours...
I'm feeling random and have some from all over...Any one have the od5?
Thanks anyway .I will try the a2z again .Back after if you want any clues
sounds like a plan!
ok - starting the next time i can play...i'll start in the middle...8)
od5 - someone who writes poems
ok ren, but work towards the A's, that way you'll be able to clue me...
Now willl you move up or down or alternate?
ok - i was wondering how i should do it - l to k then m then j then n...ok sherb your idea is better..i could confuse myself...
ok bunny - now if i get a 3rd computer...i can do alternate then to the a's then to the z's....or may we add some additional staff here?
No, L to K to M to J to N to....staying in the middle. You can do it!
We are to cheap for additional staff, it's all on your shoulders!
or M to A during the week, and N to Z at weekends... I need the help on work days...
Listen to Bunny! There's a tank involved!
yeah, no need to add to the overhead when we've got you ren...
wait...who thought of that idea???? turn your turret bunny and get a bead on them....wait...i thought that thought....ok...
Ran out of ammo on the salesman and driver who don't use blinkers (but no one has to know).
So ren, go the az yet?
OK i give up........ I dont think la5/10 exists!!!!!!Has anyone found it yet?
Maybe we need an Energizer bunny to handle the job!
caitlyn - do you have the one that sounds like a make of watches?
Sorry Cait, not yet...
lo5 - any of several small, slow-moving, nocturnal prosimian primates of the genera Lo*** and Nycticebus of tropical Asia, having dense woolly fur, large eyes, and a vestigial tail
I have the 5/12 at the top ,its the very 1st one i need
caitlyn from earlier - double vowel, up right, up
cait - start in lower right hand double 1st vowel + 3rd vowel + consonent
ooh, that works... must remember to make a note of clues for later...
i have an la5 / 12 which is a scots word for lord of the manor
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! Got it at last.
ok-dokey....( i wonder where that phrase orginated?)
my productivity is low... 84 words still to find... back after I eat...
ok sherb....
ren, now I'm curious! Try this to start: http://www.phrases.org.uk/bull etin_board/7/messages/798.html
My lunch: Hebrew National straight from the ice box and a coke. Just for the archives.
Hey mab what is a Hebrew National???
thanks jb!! go it and save the site mab...love hebrew nationals.....i love their bologna as well..
kosher weiner.
............oh................ ....
I got pot roast in the crockpot, and it smells like supper is gonna be good!
Can I say yuck? Yuck (if your weiners are made out of the same thing our weiners are)!
Meatloaf....
cait - hebrew national is a anme brand for kosher deli products. they have weiners, salami, bologna, sauerkraute, the production is overseen by a rabbi.
Whoo hoo - touchdown Steelers! JoJo, if you see this, sorry - gotta root for the PA team!
Yuck is ok. I love pot roast, brisket, meatloaf.
Thanks i understand now ,enjoy!!!
Watching hot dogs get made does not seem like much of a spiritual calling, does it? (grin)
lol jb...it's a job and someone must do it...but not me...i see blood - plotz...onto the floor...
I'm sad. Thought I had a day off. Instead I am driving kids all over the place, including son back to college an hour and a half away. boo-hoo
Sorry, Sushi! Did your son stay for the weekend?
oh sushi.....we'll be here when you get back.....8)
yes, son stayed for weekend with 2 of his friends sleeping in the basement. Didn't see sonny-boy too much. n cept when they came to get something to eat
ren, I was that way until my husband went to medical school. Think of having spaghetti for dinner, and seeing the anatomy textbooks open to the female private anatomy in colorful detail. ren? ren? did you plotz?
Dont be sad Sushi, You know we will be here for you when you return(could give him train/bus fare and send him on his way)
....uh.....whaaa....what happened.....jb...why me?
hey JBsanno. Sounds like my lunchbreak on friday. Eating a sandwich at my desk and reviewing CD on infectious diseases and only you know the area of specialty!
Anything is good on the grill with a little bar-b-que!
(taking ren by the hand) There, there, it's all right. Look over here - there's the puzzle grid. All those pretty letters make words! How many do you have? Can you get 171 total?
Sushi, that's what chief residents are for!
must find words...no food...must find words....
ah they were busy saving lives...: P)
Sushi, I know what you mean!
ren? are you okay now? How about a PBJ sandwich?
Ren, just set a coffee pot up on the computer desk like I do. Can stay alert and in one space for hours! (Waiting for porta-potty to be delivered!)
ok...pbj...thanks jb!!
No, not a rabbi, Ren...I'm trying to think of the word, but babbling scrambles my word recall. A person who is schooled in Talmudic butchering law. It'll come to me.
mab - sochochet? I just LOVE Google!
lol bunny...my mom has a little camper p-o-p in her green house that's about the size of a little cooler...
(handing sandwiches all around) Eat up, people, there's still a ways to go!
ok mab...8)
(dusting crumbs from hands) Gotta go AFK for a while, lovies! BBL! (hmm, notice how that acronym for Be Back Later kinda sounds like Babble? A coincidence? I think NOT!)
you crack me up JBsanno. luv yr humor
ok jb thanks!!!! i thought brb was burp....
LOL, ren! Thanks, Sushi. It's fun to pun and joke with like-minded folks!
Is anyone running super slow? Every word I type in is taking over a minute to add on....
not me...
Help! The last st7/32 is eluding me! Maybe it doesn't exist...nah, usually it's right in front of me and I just can't see it! LOL Anyway, thanks for any help!
st 7/32 - a harsh, shrill, or creaking noise (sounds like someone who takes very long steps)
priscilla - st 7/32 - a drug used to beef up people and animals....
oh - sorry - looked at the other st 7....duh...back to the i's
Thanks Bunnyvicious (really? Vicious???) - and it should have been obvious but that's the fun of Babble!
Oh yeah, thanks JBs, shochet. Can't stay awake, must nap. Ren, you ever read Boychiks in the Hood? Ok. Later.
sleep well mab....8)
Hello. I'm back from church.
hi harp!!!
Howdy Harp!
brb, in laws here, DARN!!!
bunnyvicious. am going cross eyed from what sounded like an excellent clue on st7/32. dare i ask for more?
bunyy? bunny? think the in-laws kidnapped her.
sushi - earlier sherb gave a clue like someone who is a really long stepper only change the last vowel - does that make sense? think a shoe st*** rite (or right)
priscilla did you get the st732 that ren is desperately trying to squeeze in to my brain, but itjust won't go?
I did, Sushi - Takes a really long step, then add the 2-letter word that goes with either.....does that help?

I AM FINISHED!!! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! You have 0word(s) left to find 171 words 4.78 2004
LOL tbear - the only way that journey would have been worse & thats if it had rained!!! He was incredibly tall about 6'5 (I'm 5'2 on tippy toes) and incredibly thin ( I'm what nice people would call well rounded) and had a huge mop of curly hair ( If it had been red he would have looked like a big matchstick). He drove that car with his knees around his ears! You may have gathered that this was not a long running relationship!
ei 6, please?
congrats mr president!!!!!
ai 5/10?
ai5/10 take the s off the ai6
Mr. president, unfortunately that doesn't help. I don't have the ai 6 either.
Congrats Mr P : ) On that note, i'm heading for the state line and sweet slumber. Catch all you good people again tomorrow : )
ai5/10 you put damp clothes on a clothes ai***
ei + girl child favourite toy D*** then change the last letter to a vowel
Night anj - sweet dreams
harp you breath ai* then add the second vowel + r
Thanks, pres
cyber, that ei is a weirdo word!
Got the a's. Finally! di 5/14?
di5 like the song... little di*** about jack and dianne..
harp, bad clue di5 di + you do this when you are not living any more
Thanks mr. p! I was looking for "tty" and wondering what I was missing, until I got the second clue!
te 5/10? Not the one related to earth.
te5 take the earth one, use the first three letters, then change the last two to 1st vowel and 3rd vowel
either st 7?
st7 some bad naughty athletes use this to get them strong
st7 something body builders often take
ha 5/14?
st7 you use a st****** wheel when driving a car... drop the last letter and change the middle vowel to a
ha + you put this on the top of a pot to cook your food
Good evening all. I'm only just starting the grid. Had a busy day.
Hi Jacula - you are late tonight!
TY, pres -- have the athlete's drug The last st 7?
Hi Snowy. I wanted to watch the Alan Bennett interview on The South Bank Show before I settled down to Babble.
st7 the gait you use when you walk is your st***... change the last vowel to 4th vowel + r
st7 - a harsh sound made on in or exhalation
gotta go!
Hi Jac! bye cybernan!
Oh I must start to watch TV again I miss loads - did well today tho - watched Child of Our Time - our twin grandaughters were born in Jan 2000. and then watched Friends & Crocodiles - which I quite enjoyed.
bye cybernan!
ha 7/32?
Harp - ha7/32 - more hirsute.
If a man has a beard he's ha***** than a man who doesn't
Having more ha 4/5 than someone else.
ha7 if you don't shave your legs they get ha****, my legs are ha**** than yours!
No they're not!
Hi Mr. Pres, Haz etc. 'Bye Cybernan. Snowy - Drat! I meant to watch Child of our Time. I forgot it was on.:-(
yes they are!!
No. They're not!
lol Jacula I would have watched Alan Bennet if I'd known! I love listening to him being interviewed. Have listened to him this week on a radio 7 programme he did about Thora Hird.
Snowy - His new book is one of the many books I had for Christmas. Am looking forward to diving into it. Busy knitting 'hairy' scarves for everyone at present though...
My next door neighbours mum knitted a hairy scarf for me for Christmas. I love it! I bought loads of that fleecy knobbly wool last year to knit for the grandchildren but my poor arthritic hands can't cope with it at all!
Done. Finally! (Yes. They are! Trust me, Mr. President. I win contests!)
harpjane gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
Snowy - send the wool to me and I'll knit 'em for you! Seriously. I love making them. Am doing a couple of scarves for my Mum, who was always an avid knitter, as she has same prob. as you, albeit mildly at present.
Well done Harp! I've found 87 words on my 1st sweep of the grid.
congrats harpjane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Harp... OK, OK.... I don't enter "hairy" contests!!
Back for the last time. still 14 words to find. Will be shamelessly begging for clues, as usual :)
Thank you. My title is important to me!
I'm going to have one more bash at the wool Jacula - I thought I'd try wooden needles to see if I build up less heat !
Hi Peri! Let us know what you need
although... I could give you a run on longest legs !!
Snowy - If you're building up heat, maybe you need to knit slower! LOL. (Got a vision of your with sparks flying off your knitting needles.)
missing both lo5/10 and last lo4/4 or one before it,not sure.
missing an re4/4 not sure which one though also ha5/12 last twoha4/5 (I think)
Just looked at the clock and it's time I left. Am doing a hygiene course tomorrow so that I can serve teas in the kitchen I've been using for the last 15 years for the church. There's a possibility that we will open a drop in cafe to raise funds for a new hall & we have to do this course before we can open it up to the public. So tomorrow is - course 9.30 -4.30, Brownies 5.30 - 7.00pm and 3 littlies overnight! Oh and we're decorating the hall stairs and landing at the same time! HELP!!!!
Snowy - Just finished a scarf for myself in Paton's Whisper, shade 00006, a beautiful rainbows of jewelled shades of garnet and green. It takes 2 50g balls. 30 sts on 6& a half mm (No.4) pins, knitting in garter stitch throughout. Just keep knitting till that 100g is used up.
These new hygiene regulations are something else, aren't they? How many people have been poisoned by church teas/suppers?
ha4 when you cook food, you he** it up... swap the vowels around.... then ha5 plural it
Good luck with the course, Snowy. I'm sure it won't teach you anything you don't already know. (Bloody beaurocrats!)
missing a dr5/12 too, have the gloomy one and the clothes one
lo5 rhymes with moral
dr - take the ra4 and add a d to the front
Thanks for the pattern Jacula! Haz - I know - I appreciate why we have to do it but I already hold a pack holiday license that includes kitchen hygiene & all we seem to do today is duplicate things. For example - as a gude leader i have to have an enhanced police check - I wholly support thisscheme and am happy to comply - My daughter who is a guide leader and a teacher holds 3 - 1 for each of 2 education committees and 1 for Guiding. Terrible amount of waste man hours and money!
mr president - thanks, another word I never heard of
I suppose it keeps people in jobs checking up on everyone else, but it just means that everybody is to scared to flout the rules in case something goes wrong. Insurance companies are probably in on the whole thing.
night all - sweet dreams when you sleep!
the other lo5 is tough... lo + r then follow it up to the top line
nite nite snowy!
Good night Snowy - I'm heading off myself, grid uncompleted, but 'Tomorrow is another day!'
lo5 is a man's name in italy...
Goodnight Snowy & Haz.
nite nite haz.
missing an ha word, think it is the first ha4/5
mrpresident, can't get the man's name in Italy
Found 90 words now and need to start hunting seriously.
Peri - If it's the word I think it is it can be found within the word for someone who sells flowers, a fl*****.
Jacula and mrpresident, found the lo5 - didn't know that was a man's name anywhere
yes, it is... the famous one I know is a motorcycle racer in the MotoGP Lo*** Capirossi
still missing ra4/5 one of the re4/4 not sure which one
ra4/5 the police organise a ra** to surprise catch criminals
found the ra4 word
mrpresident have that one
missing the first ha4/5
ha4/5 double the vowel and add r
mrpresident, thanks ever so much
your welcome peri! (just bashed my knee against the coffee table... ooooowwwwww))))) getting ice pack!!
Ow! MrPres. Take care there!
Jac, I'm a clutz lately! bashed my little toes against a piece of furniture yesterday too... and my shin against the blanket box the other night (ice pack is getting well used)
found the re4 I was missing -Just missing one word Li5/12
take the li4 above it and add a d
mrpresident, a question for you - if your handbag is red why is your screen name mrpresident instead of mspresident
MrPres. Be careful! I once broke a toe on the base of a settee! It was VERY painful. I reset it myself and strapped it up (having just finished a 1st Aid course, not knowing I'd be my own first patient) and went to the hospital the next day. The doctors and nurses laughed when they heard how I'd broken it. Cruel lot!
thank you so much, mrpresident. I am now finished TOO.!!!!!
back ! hi again!
Hi Temple Owl
WELL DONE, PERI. Hi again, Temple. Thought you'd gone to bed?
Peri... I don't know why... just liked the ring of it!
jacs - only 1655 here...
periwinkle gets *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~* ~*~*
It's getting like an owl sanctuary here, what with Temple, Snowy & Hoot. Not that I mind - I like owls. Once had a tawny owl resident in my garden for a while - a youngster waiting to find territory. Took some lovely photos.
Jac, the nasties are often from under the settee!!
why is za5/20 accepted, thought it was proper noun?
hurrah for peri! i'd like help for the fourth re - re4/4?
Temple, just like the re4 above it but ends in a different consanent
peri... it is a unit of money somewhere (congo maybe)
Since I found that za5 (earlier) I've been hearing that wretched song, In Za***, about Mohammed Ali's boxing match! LOL.
all: i'm seeeking the thirid or foruth re word...
Jac LOL, you need to retune your dial!!
only here a few more minutes anyone need help
as well as the ri5
Temple, do you have the re word used to pull in horses
Rumble in the jungle, MrPres. It's in my head, not on my radio. LOL.
ri5 is plural of the one above it - skin of a fruit
yes, peri : )
jac, as I said, you need to retune YOUR dial (the head one!)
dial... face?? oh forget it!! Sorry!
I am just not funny... should stop trying to be...
Have to go now. Thanks for the help. See you tomorrow.
mr p typed a wor-rd! mr p typed a wor-rd!
bye peri!!
LOL, Temple. I was just about to chant that.:-))
I didn't mean to!!!
'Bye Peri.
Can I get a heads up on the theme at the flip?
Pardon, MrPres?
what is the icon theme for the next game please?
Speaking of themes - I know the theme for Thurs. 19th is volcanoes but it's also Paul 69 (my other half)'s birthday. So, may I request some Happy Birthday icons for him, too?
MrPres - Tomorrow's theme is 'The Waltons'.
What are the Waltons??
Jac, is Paul going to model any new sleepwear he gets for us all?
Ah! Coming from Australia, you might not have got that TV series. It's about a mountain family. There's Maw, Paw, Grandmaw, Grandpaw, Jimbob, Elizabeth, John Boy and more. 6 kids and 4 adults, plus the people around them. Great series!
New sleepwear? LOL, MrPres. He's getting a portable DVD player off me. (He's a lorry driver and so it will be handy for him on nights out when there's nothing worth watching on TV.) I did try to get him some Superman pj's the other day, so he could model for the superheroes icon day, but they only had them in 'small' which would NOT fit him. I had to make do with putting Jason Momoa on my icon in the end.:-)
may i have a clue for ar6/18 please?
ar6 the ar****cats!! great movie
hi owl! don't know if that clue helped... it works for people who have kids and are forced to watch cartoons
ar6 take the di7/32, remove the di and add the 4th vowel to the end
Well, I got it from that clue, MrPres. t/y
thanks mr p - my nieces favorite for a long while ... i am down to one an elusive re 4/4 the 2nd or third re4
you got the one that you use to stop a horse?
absolutely my last one... the last st 7/32, anyone?
actually - i was missing the one after that one - and i'm done!
leslie ann- bodybuilders are notorious for using this
st7/32 the gait of your walk is also called your st****... change the last vowel to the 4th vowel, then add r
owl gets *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~* ~*~*
oh i got it! thanks folks! and congrats, temple, too!
Leslie gets *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~* ~*~*
well done, leslie ann!
i must go - more homework and study for midterm - see you tomorrow! happy babbling!
Well done Temple & Leslie.
bye owl!
*Jac plods on with 49 more words to find.*
*Decides, 'Sod the di4/5 (and why is that word coming up so much lately in grids? Is Dr_God trying to tell us something???). I'll pour myself a glass of white wine. It'll ease the pain.'*
my husband is lying in bed all day today. I want to go out, get coffee, read trashy mags and potter around the shops... he is 'too tired to spend money"!!
Hear Hear, Jacula!
Hi JB!! How goes it!?
G'day Commander-in-chief
Hey, mrp - working hard on the words, really want to finish tonight - still 50 words to go. but I have all the D's!
Hi JB! MrPres - Nick his credit card. I'm sure you can, like any good woman, already forge his signature. ROFLOL. That'll teach the bugger!
My poor hubby, fighting a cold all day. Can't take anything for it, either, 'cept Vitamin C & zinc. We've both been pottering around the apartment all day.
way to go JB! Jac, he cut up the credit cards, I get cashed up twice a week and shop til I drop!! He just doesn't want to join in the fun!!
JB, I feel for you and your OH! I used to not be able to take any thing for flu either and it was a drag!! Nothing like seudoephidrin to get you on your way!!
JB - Echinachea is also good for colds. Can he take that? Trouble with men is they never have a simple cold - it's pneumonia at the very least! Every headache is an impending brain tumour and every moment of forgetfulness, not their fault but ours (cos we 'hid' something). LOL. Gotta love 'em though!
MrPres - I guess you'll just have to wait until he's snoring peacefully and pinch his cash then. LOL.
(49 words left to find here.)
LOL, Jacula - you hit the nail on the head! He says to me that I'm much better at this finding stuff than he is... And yes, I do love him, sniffles and all (collective 'aaaahhhh', everyone!)
Jac, we are neck and neck! 49 left here, too. Checking my list, and getting more C for the man...
126 words here now...
Have all of the a's now, if that's any help to anyone.
Hi all! -- Back for my last 16 :) (*Hugs*)
Hi Wolfie! *Hugs* How's the mum-to-be?
A bit down --- today was to be our last 'date' night before the big day, but her mum came down with avirus and was unable to baby sit :( All we got to do was go to the local diner for dinner and even then the service was lackluster ar best :\
Hi there. Anybody need hints?
Which diner, GW - so we'll know not to go there!
Oh dear! If you were nearer, I'd have cooked a lovely meal for you both and left you alone together by candlelight.
Harp - ha6/24 and ha7/36 - I'm stuck! TYIA
Jacula, that's very sweet of you!
JB -- the American Star on 63 in the same shopping center as Redner's in Montgomeryville -- I think it was just a bad night for the server though --- Kirsten and her mom have gone there before and had great service :)
Jac -- the sentiment is greatly appreciated -- Thank you :)
We haven't eaten out that far off 309, pretty much stick with the chains.
We usually don't go anywhere special either -- it is just too expensive these days
We ascertained earlier that my legs are ha***** than those of mr. president. very hirsute.
JBs, once you get the 7 letter, you should be able to get the 6 letter word before it. It contains two 2-pointers.
Everyone - the trouble with diners is that they emply teenagers, pay them peanuts and treat them like sh*t. It's not the kids' fault, but the employers. I know this, 'cos my daughter has waitressed and barmaided under severely difficult to remain friendly and smiling circumstances, as have many of her friends. They're students all ... One thing I would say to clients in diners, restaurants, pubs etc. Be aware that one day the waiter/ess you are being rude to (if you get a kick out of that sort of thing) may one day we the lawyer/brain surgeon/nurse that you need to rely on. I wasn't saying you were rude to any staff though, GW!
*employ
Thanks, Jac, I shouldabeen more specific. The ones I need are later in the list, not sequential, and not hirsute!
Erm. JB, it was Harp who gave you the clues, not me.
JB's angel topping + identification
hi all, off for a few days but Im back...171 seems like a lot tonight.
Another salute to Jacula - so true about the servers and restaurants.
Jac -- actually this was one of the most disinterested, unsmiling middle aged female servers I have ever encountered --- she had the personality of a cardboard cutout and the energy of a dead battery --- at least the food was good, not great, but good -- I had a bacon cheeseburger and Kirsten had fish & chips
Yes, it was I. I'm very proud of my legs!
Jbs-Plants that survive in cold weather are ha 7. Sounds like part of an old comedy team---Laurel and ****
Wolfie - then she was either in 'the change of life', has got a crap husband, has no husband but horrible kids, or else she was just a miserable cow! LOL. Sorry you had a bad time. Let me make a meal for you and yours at some point in the future. If you let me know your likes and dislikes, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.x
Jac -- I will do my best to take you up on that offer! ;)
Jac: You sound like a chef, or at least, a very good proficient cook. Any ideas how to cook Yellowfin Tuna. My Hubby got a whole bunch down out of Mexico waters, and so far, only found one recipe I like. Any ideas?
You do that, Wolfie, because it was a sincere offer.
Jojo - the latter. I've never cooked yellowfin tuna (not being a lover of tuna myself) but I'm sure I can sort you out. Give me a while and I'll post my ideas on BabAnon in a day or two. For now, just gut the fish and stick 'em in the freezer.
Jojo - First of all, you'd better tel me your likes and dislikes re food, and any allergies you may have to any possible ingredients.
8 to go -- All A's
Jac: Thx. They were already gutted and in the freezer for a number of months. The long distant trip was out of San Diego in Nov. I am REALLY REALLY trying to like this fish.
JoJo - try to get him to catch salmon or trout next time!
No allergies to any food. If there is an ingredient that my husband (not me, I like them all) doesn't like I will just not add it. No prob.
jojo - unless the fish is fresh off of the boat, be sure you soak it in buttermilk (i knoiw it's not kosher) to remove some of the fishy taste. i do this to my salmon when i can't get it fresh...i lived in the carribean and ate fish everyday (and not all of it was fresh catch of the day)...of course the mistress is the pro chef...i'm just her humble servant...8)
Jac: We have a freezer full of Salmon and Halibut (he fishes in Alaska every year). No prob. fixing those, know how to cook them.
Hi Ren! Jojo never mentioned needing Kosher stuff. Glad you brought that up.
Ren: Thank you so much. My hus. also got a fish called Grouper, and it is soo fishy tasting, even he can't stand it. Will try the buttermilk!! Thx so much.
Jac: I don't need Kosher stuff.
Also, Ren., you have just verified a statement I once made to Paul about dogfish (me not liking it). I said that, like shark, it tasted 'too fishy'! You may have just solved my problem there with the buttermilk thing.
Okay, Jojo. Got that.
jojo... marinate the yellowfin tuna in 1 cup white wine 1/2 cup olive oil 2 tablespoons Chinese Oyster sauce 1/2 cup soy sauce 2 cloves garlic, chopped 2 tablespoons ginger, chopped 2 teaspoons chilli, chopped 1 onion, chopped Salt and pepper maridate overnight. cook in hot oven for 10 minutes then serve on rice with green scallion & nuts ontop
I never considered that as an answer for too fishy fish! Dunno why! I mean I soak liver and kidneys in milk to make them taste less like what their functions are.
hope it helps...8)
Jacula and HarpJane, forgive my unintentional rudeness of mixing you up, and then walking AFK with no explanation - so sorry! had to find Benedryl for my patient....
MrPres. Thanks for the recipe! Please post it on the recipes thread in BabAnon, so it is not lost. JB - we understand about Men Who Are ILL. LOL.
Mr.Pres. Thx so much. Will try your recipe. It sounds yummy. Have you been a long distant fishing trip and caught yellowfin before?
there is a recipe thread?? woohooh!!
I am going to ignore all of the comments re:sick men, cos it is easier that way ;) down to my last three -- al6 & 7 and the 1st ar5
OK. How do I get into the babbler recipe thread. Anyone?
JB - Have you taken him the mug of hot milk 'with just a touch of brandy/whisky/rum for medicinal purposes' yet? Or gently put a hot water bottle under his feet? Or a cool flannel on his fevered brow?
jojo... the yellowfin is typically served in most of our top restaurants and the recipes are so easy... must get alot of flavour into that fish!!
JB, you can have one of my 'sleeping tablets'... LOL that will fix him!
Wolfie, you're a wise man! Now, do I want to give you clues since you are ahead of me? Hmmm...
jojo bab anon is to your right under friends of babble
Jac -- I think I am more atypical than wise -- but maybe the 2 go hand in hand...
Oh dear! Just noticed. Wolfie's icon is a howling wolf.
Mr.Pres. I understand that yellowfin is very expensive in restaurants, and I gave the recipe you posted to him and he said it sounded really good. Will try it. Thx so much.
al 6 = al + garfield's dog replace last letter w/ 1st vowel al 7 = add a hockey stick consonent
any hints for the al6 and 7?
whoa ren is psychic!!!
Ren: Once I go into Bab anon, then where? general? or where?
sorry al 7 = al 6 + hockey stick consonent
Ask and you will receive, Octarine --- LOL Thanks ren!
Think I forgot to say 'Hi' to you, Octarine. Hi!
hi, had to come in here, it s a good way to clear my head
y/w...8) jojo - underother interests then recipes
Wolfie: what's the date of your son's birth?
hi octarine
JoJo -- Feb 3
Wolfie: That is really close. I am sure that everything will turn out just great. Give your wife a lot of support, she will need it. I know you will.
And I am done!! Got the last one on my own :)
strange, I have two ar 4/5s that are ont on the list...what gives?
JB: Is this your hubby you are caring for?
sorry, just the one...
Jac, we don't have spirits (teetotalers), don't drink milk (lactose sensitive), flannel itches, and he can get his own water bag if he wants it!
No worries there, JoJo -- we are both looking forward to it -- for two key reasons -- 1: We want to meet Sebastian 2: Then Kirsten can finally be taken off the blood pressure meds which have taken away all her energy
^*~*^*~*FIREWORKS^**~*^*~ for WOLFIED!

'WolfieD'?? LOL.
HooooowwwwwwLLLLL for GW!
way to go wolf-e...way to go wolf -e
Wolfie: She got high BP during pregnancy, or had it B4? I have high BP, and monitor it every day, is this something due to pregnancy?
Can I get a clue for the ei 6/21? It's the only one I lack.
Wolfie - we're all looking forward to meeting Sebastian. Make sure you post pics of him, e-mail them etc., real soon. If you're too busy to do so, which you may well be, then get HootOwl to do so. PLEASE!x
ei+ Girls like to play with a d*** change the last letter to the 4th vowel
OK * F5* I'm ready for tomorrow!
JoJo -- it is pregnancy related tabbycat -- it is the plural of the def : 1. A phantom; an apparition. 2. An image of an ideal.
MrPres! What a clue! I am SHOCKED! Shocked, I tell you!:-)
Sorry about that Jac!
Don't worry Jac -- I'm thinking of starting a BabAnon thread for photos to intro him :)
You're not a bit sorry, MrPres! I know you're not. LOL.
I could have said, some people like to stick needles in these and curse people!! but that would be worse!!
Wolfie - a good idea. Which reminds me yet again, I must get photobucket so I can show some pics. That is one big fault with the EZ boards - you can't download pic off your computer.
Yes, MrPres.. rabbit, rabbit, rabbit... ROFLOL.
Thanks, GW and Mr. P...got it and I'm finished.
I read it again jac... you are right...it looks bad!!
tabby gets *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~* ~*~*
Well done, Tabby.
Great job, tabby!
i'm going to be the walton's radio....8)
grey, I found a funny icon... I think you might like it, will go and fetch it!
the last st7/32, please?
st7/32 -- Aragorn was also known as st7 -- just change the last vowel to fit the grid
i've got that one . . . guess it's the other one i need
Une - then it's the drug taken by bodybuilders that you need.
the other st7/32 -- athletes get in trouble for using st7-s to bulk up
ooooooooooohhhhh, thanks!
1st la5/10 anyone?
Jac -- the first la5 is the last la4/4 with the 1st vowel doubled
la5/10 take your last la4/4 and double the middle vowel
it is a unit of currency -- I forget from where
t/y both! Got the la5.
Incidentally - that qursh word from a grid or so ago - it's a unit of Saudi currency - either a 10th or a 20th of a riyal. Can't remember which now. No one could find a definition though, but Paul and I did find one.
grey, it's the Maldives
thanks mrp
mrp -- just noticed the new icon --LOL!!!
the other unit of currency is the za5 ... republic of congo
It's it fun!! I laughed silly when I saw it!
I always wanted to go to the Maldives, one of the smaller islands until that tsunami hit. Still think I want to go though. A tiny island, a man I love, plenty of supplies .... heaven!
I don't remember seeing cats 'at it' in The Waltons??
cats at it!! Oh Jac... get your glasses on! It is a wolf leapfrogging a sheep!
Or is it a cat leapfrogging a dog? Difficult to see on here.
Omigod! That's even worse! LOL. Fanning self vigorously with a copy of.. oh bugger! can't find a women'smag... a copy of the Babblegrid.
LOL!!
I prefer my hunky kangaroo though... will stick with this one as I have no idea about the waltons!!

Thank you.

I actually got it! tu, GW
1st la5 - 1. A landslide or mudflow of volcanic fragments on the flanks of a volcano. 2. The deposit produced by such a landslide. Sounds like a place/airport in Pakistan.
1st la5/12 -- la + 1st ha4/5 without the double vowel
Wolfie - you signed out!
Sorry, Jac -- had to shut down for a minute, is all
is it just me, or does it seem to take longer for the box to accept your words the closer you get to the flip?? yumpin' yimenies!!!
Just got a great pic of a dog with wolf puppies.
I'm Ma Walton (Michael Learned) now, btw. REFRESH!
EB -- same reason as why it gets slow shortly after the flip as well --- all those people typing in their words as quickly as they can :)
EB - What happens is, and this is just my theory, is that you type faster as you get nearer the end of the grid. The grid word accepter can't cope with fast typing. It has to think for a while longer. LOL.
Anyone need any last minute clues?
...I was thinkin' it was the shear 'panic' of trying to finish & it only SEEMED to go slower!! I only have 1 more di to find...gotta figure out which one (with BrandyJack's list to help of course!!).... back in a moment!!
Thanks again, GW.
we are poised here, fingers on the 'di' clue buttons....
Just doing my fair turn, c-nan -- no thanks necessary ;)
let's hope the 'di' needed is an easy one and not the bonded atoms one.:-/
I need a little more help if possible: one of the last three li 4/4 (I have the money and the harp) and the li 6/36
I can chat now I've finished. Paul told me off for chatting when I should have been looking for words. LOL.

Better wipe off your screen, Sushi!
