Good morning, all.
Hi, Jac!!!!
New Grid!!
don't do the other waltons; never watched them...
jac - you are fast!!
ok, here we go!
chic - who is YOUR Walton??
EB - fast? I'll have you know I am a Good Girl! ROFLOL.
The Waltons had a cat named Calico, so I just guessed at the image...
Hello again, everyone.
181 words today, and I have to work, too!
Jac - I meant POSTING so quickly... tsk! tsk! your mind is in the proverbial gutter!! ROFL!!
He's Bill Walton of the Portland Trailblazers (basketball) now a coach somewhere and most important a huge Grateful Dead fan. BTW, S 8/45
EB - That's exactly what my OH loves about me! LOL.
Chic - It's meant to be The Waltons (the mountain family from the UK/Canada series). We have a set of Waltons with 6 kids here in UK, however, they live in Liverpool.
t 7/28
Oooh this is my first experience Flipping Over to New Puzzle at 1:00 am EST. Cool.
Good morning, and good night, everyone! I'll look for you on the log later, have to go to bed. It was fun on the previous grid, lots of vroom-vroom.
chic - I like your take on the "Walton" theme... I didn't watch the Walton's much either...I was more of a LHOTP fan...
Sushi, trust me, you'll regret it around 11:00am. Especially if you're updating ACGME stats like me!
Jacula, it's the rebel in me; see my 12:01 post...:-0
JB - Sweet dreams...catch you later!!
EB, that translates to what..?
s 8/45
chic - LHOTP = Little House on the Prairie!
<blowing kisses all around> *bleary eyed tearful grateful expression on face* "Good night, sweet Babblers! I want to thank each and every one of you...wha????" <unceremoniou sly jumped on by hungry cats demanding food and why the heck are you up so late anyway?>
33 words so far for me, just idly meandering through the new grid. How are the rest of you doing?
I watched that for Michael Landon but I couldn't stand Melissa Gilbert...
JB - nightie nite!!!
*quick wave* Night, everyone!
wa8/80
JB - chuck a chicken carcase or a tub of margarine at the cats. It'll keep 'em happy. You may have some cleaning up to do later, though.:-(
chic - he reminded me of my father...I liked to pretend to be Laura...read all the LHOTP books when I was in first grade!
r 7/28
nite, JB!
Damn! When the flip comes, I am half-asleep, I keep trying Welsh words.
re 8/70
'Morning! This looks like RE hell...hope I can stay awake in the next 24 hours long enough to finish. Couldn't for the last one.
hello mab!
feeling good. already up to 30 words and the puzzles only been on for 16 min.
r8/50
Hi EB. I think my body is trying to hibernate; can hardly keep my eyes open for an hour at a time!
49 words here.
Only 43 here....
Hi everyone -- gonna do a mad flurry of typing and then turn in early(for me) tonight -- Though, I just want to know -- who got the E's and R's on discount today? ;D
mab - maybe you've turned into a bear!! I love sleeping when it's cool under warm flannel sheets & big ol' comforter!!
tr7/36
c7/40
Excuse me?? 'Yorker' isn't allowed? It is a cricketing term!
not very cricket of them eh?
I thought I was a New Yorker...I must just be "New"!!
Indeed not, BJ!
EB - No! It seems you will be forever 'new'.
Wolfie - glad to see you're taking some experienced parent advice and getting some sleep in now, before the birth.x
What's sleep?
Polished off the R on the right.
Mab - I've got rid of that 'r', too.
Wolfie - sleep is the state of unconsciousness a brain reaches about 5-8 hours in every 24. Well, it does when you don't have babies in the house.x
I'm so proud of myself. (ha)
...or Babble to play!! 8 D
In other words, sleep is like my memory, a figment of someone elses imagination....
LOL, EB!
5-8 hours? are you sure? I'll have to give it a try some time ---- 4 hours of downtime is my typical :)
I like the little reminder Dr_God put up there to refresh after chagning your icon...........
Not sure of your age, Wolfie, but if you're in your late 20s to 30s - 4 hours is okay. Before and after that - 8 hours! Dunno about after 48-years'-old, 'cos I haven't got there yet!
Yes, I saw that, BJ. Do you think he's catering for the older and the drunken and sleep-deprived ones?
Hail and hello checked the grid first tonight... LOL Also where is the icon change list posted ?? thanks guys
Hi Blaze! (*hug*)
Perhaps just the slow learners.....
((hugs))) wolfie and family
Blaze - the icon themes thing is in Babbler's profile. Toda is 'The Waltons'. Hang on and I'll get you the rest....
Blaze - Babbler keeps the list updated in her 'handbag' (as she calls her icon)...today it's "The Waltons"...
Theme for Mon 16 Jan - The Waltons Theme for Tues 17 Jan - Fairy Tales Theme for Weds 18 Jan - Bridges Theme for Thurs 19 Jan - Volcanoes Theme for Fri 20 Jan - Circus Theme for Sat 21 Jan - "Let's all go on safari" Theme for Sun 22 Jan - Stars and Planets Theme for Mon 23 Jan - Harps Theme for Tues 24 Jan - Favourite Album Covers Theme for Weds 25 Jan - Book Covers Theme for Thurs 26 Jan - Marbles Theme for Fri 27 Jan - Devils Theme for Sat 28 Jan - Dragons Theme for Sun 29 Jan - Chinese New Year - Dog Theme for Mon 30 Jan - Musical Instruments Theme for Tues 31 Jan - Ducks
A PLEA AGAIN FOR THURS 19TH JAN - It's my oher half's 37th birthday. Can you please post some Happy Birthday icons for him (whether he's modelling pj's or not???) I, thank you!
Can you please also vote to change 26th January to all things australian??
will do Jac!
Jac thank you very much I saved it in word.... is there a section in Bab anon for this list ?
Babbler has a themse entry under other interests on Bab Anon but it hasn't been updated lately.
thank you brandy jack... I did not think to look there...
Blaze - Like BJ said, it has not been updated in there.
lots of fun Y and K words today :)
got to go.... see you later.... a job interveiw tomorrow... want to be fresh and energetic.... good night/day to everyone
I think themes are 'archived' after a little while...but they are subject to change here & there....so I think Babs waits until they've come & gone....
Goodnight Blaze! Good Luck with the interview....
Another month half over....sure went fast.
thank you
Good luck, Blaze!
Good luck, Blaze! Rest Well -- see you tomorrow! (*Hug*) and an extra (*hug*) for luck!!
All the best, Blaze.
I don't know about themes being archived. I've asked repeatedly for 70s glam rock (not Gary Glittery) icons but not got them yet!
(62 words here right now, btw.)
68 here, including only one of the 8's.
75 here Jac ;D
Good night, Blaze, and good luck! :)
Jac - I think the 'archive' is for themes past...not ideas presented...usually Babs asks in the chat log & gets ideas in batches...you could always request the next time you see her on...I'm sure she'd add it (it looks like it would be in Feb. at this point!)....
the darn st8 is eluding me and I am sure it is staring me in the face (nah nah nah nah nah!) help if possible?
st8/45? Past tense of double-speakered in hi-fi.
mrp: past tense of what we used to call a re6 player?
Jac, I swear I tried that!! aarrghh!!
Weird thing is, I've got that word, but it's not showing up as ticked off on the 8-word stat list.:-((
Jac *refresh*
65 words will have to do for now. I'm going to see the Harry Potter movie tomorrow finally! So nite all...
Night chic... sweet dreams!!
Enjoy, chic!! I did! :D Sleep Well! (*hug*)
MPres - I have and it still doesn't show with a red tick! I guess if I signed out and then signed in again it would. Can't be bothered to do that right now though.
My husband just handed me potato crisps and white wine!! :))
Jac - are you sure you have all the 8's??
That's one studly roo, mrpres. Looks like he should be smoking a cigarette.
mrpres - I thought the hubby was away??
Chic - sleep wel and enjoy the film. As Wolfie said, 'I did!' Next one's due out Xmas 2006 with a £2 million break for Harry and Hermione (the actors) to take their exams, AS levels for Harry and GCSEs for Hermione. I'm glad they are keeping their heads on and doing them.
Oh, I'm sorry - is that a pic of mr. mrpres?
Thanks, that is my hunky-roo!! I had to *edit* out the rough bits for this rated-g forum!! Husband was in bed all day... he is alive and well now!!
EB - The stats say there is ony one 8. If that is so, I have it.
eastern, yes, he was away but came back... they always find their way back! 8@
Jacula, my stats say there are 8 8's.
Jac - my stats show 8 8's...(sorry to be the bearer of bad news!!)
Jw - oh sh (smelly stuff)! You are right.
mr pres...it helps when they drop breadcrumbs to find their way back!!
I haven't seen it yet, so t7/36
eastern LOL
I don't remember a kangaroo on the Waltons, but there could have been. Actually, I don't remember MLK and Rosa Parks being on either.
d8/45
Oh, that's not a kangaroo, that's grandpaws (runaway-returned in the last season) dingo-horse! This baby makes him alot of money!!
I thought okey dokey should work. Guess not.
Shall I VIEW your PROFILES????
knock yourself out.
excuse Me!!!!! any answers?????????????????
Tella - yes, you can view the profiles any time. Excusde me for not bbeing here to answer when you questioned, I was off watching my fave Hurra Torpedo set again. Ever watched them doing 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' whilst destroying kitchen implements?
Well -- T's are done!
Oh well, I guess not! It's the total answer to teenaged/middle-aged/old-aged frustratation about life and its so-called restrictions. You should watch it. It's brilliant (if you are mad, which I am). LOL.
Wow! That's great!
Mab - waht's great? Wolfie finishing the t's or Hurra Torpedo? Wolfie - get back on line, man!
I meant GW, but I like the idea of the other a lot. Smashing kitchen implements is what I would like to do, being quite mad also.
any clue for ro7/36 please? (blind)
Stuck on that one myself, mrp :)
another word for cooking in the oven ro/7
*Yawn* Mornin' all!
re7/36 clue please!
hi Jera!
Hi Jera!
ro/7 when you bake in the oven
judie -- thanks but that was for the 7/28 :) Having just figured out the 7/36 -- it is r + shellfish often consumed for its aphrodisiac qualities
Hi Jera!
oops sorry
Greetings, {{{GW}}}... did you enjoy your Moon??
same word, change the 3rd letter
no prob, judie -- done it myself a time or three ;)
thank You!!
Indeed I did, Jera -- and it was just wonderful when Kristianna looked at it tonight and said "That's a wolf moon!" with no input from either of us :)
Woulfie - from the mouths of babes...don'tcha just love it!!
*wiping a tear* That's simply precious!! I had a proud moment a few weeks ago when Gwyd spotted an extremely pale moon in the afternoon sky...
EB -- they are indeed a marvel to behold -- It is still amazing to me how much better she is at communicating than just a few months ago!
Ahhh... I miss preschool communication... Gwyd is usually more of the strong, silent type...
Oh Grey... aren't they beautiful!! That is sweet!!
morning all
Sprite is crocheting butterflies for Imbolc... can't believe January is half over...
did I tell you all about the obsenities my daughter yelled!!
Mornin' Rosalind!
They are so keen at that age -- so ready and eager to absorb everything. Such a joy to behold, Kristianna and Gwyd, I should think.
g'mornin' rosalind...
Sometimes I get flickers, that he is taking in & understanding everything... I'd just like a bit more output reassurance... people are getting a bit worried about him...
Jera - a friend was telling me about their son...he didn't speak for 3 years...then once he started, it was full sentences (now he's 8 & doesn't stop talking!!)....
My husband was like that, but now Gwyd is 4 & still not stringing more than 3 words together at best... just started a testing process... hoping for the best...
EB -- that reminds of the old joke about the young man who didn't speak a word for the first 18 years of his life, much to the consternation of his family. Finally, one day he shouts to his father, "WAtch out for the Bull!" which was running towards him, thus allowing dear old dad to jump out of the way. When confronted over his silence over the previous years, his explanation was quite simple ---"Well, gee, Pa, I never had anything important to say before now"
Jera - speech therapists can do wonders too...hopefully the testing, etc. works well...
Generally speaking, it seems kids are too much watched (by teachers and other pros) and probed to see if they've met the age-appropriate milestone. Some children just take a slightly different path, like the boy EB just mentioned.
Can anyone clue me in on the re6/18 and the w8? Those are the only ones I have left in the last 3rd of the alphabet and I need to go to sleep :)
I agree, mab... 40 years ago (with my husband), it was merely anecdotal, like streaking at church (funny for a toddler, but not much beyond)
re6/18 add er to the end of the re4/4
I have 2 re6's they are both doing co4's again... you probably have those, though...
can I have a clue for the re5/14 please!
I have 72 words. Haven't even looked yet for how many there are.
OOps, sorry, those are 24 points.. (my re6's)
mab -- I agree with you -- as soon as a child expresses the slightest variation from the books, there is always at least one Negative Nellie telling parents that they need to see a specialist
wa 8 - first part = opposite of 'peace' second part = boats might be considered a water _ _ _ _ _ or witch _ _ _ _ _ or arts & _ _ _ _ _s....
That sounds good, Jera, but I'm not sure that at four he's even close to missing the window for language acquisition. I hope everything works out well (and I bet it will).
I don't mind checking things out but I don't want him labelled or unneccesarily medicated...
mrp -- I should have just typed it in -- I didn't see how it twisted so discounted it's existence
wa8 is a ship that carries air***** for the airforce and they have wa* games
can I have a clue for the re5/14 please!
you can tell vocabulary is our most common form of game with this group -- Because all my friends play it I would have just said: Worlds of Wa8 -- currently the most popular online MMORPG
Jera - that's the good thing about speech therapists...they work on pronunciation, words in general... 2 of my nieces/nephews had them... I don't think they can prescribe medicine as they are not doctors... Keep reading & talking to Gwyd...asking questions & giving him 'time' to answer...some kids process words differently and think longer about responding than others... We'll keep you in our thoughts too!
mrp -- to make a second attempt, like when we re*** a word that we got an oops message over cos we don't see any other options :D
thank you!! Didn't see that through the forest!!
I suppose if he is autistic, he would need some form of meds, so he can concentrate & function in school... I am prepared to homeschool if necessary, though...
Jera - more of us should be like Gwyd...they say we have 2 ears to listen twice as much as we should speak with our 1 mouth!! (I have trouble with that one...I'm a talker!!)
So am I & his big sister... I'm still not absolutley sure he's simply gotten in the habit of not being able to get a word in edgewise, LOL
I msu look really sick... my husband is up doing dishes at 3 am...
my darling daughter (7) and I were driving along and happened apon my son & husband walking along the side of the road. I said to my daughter "Yell obsenities our the window at them" She poised herself at the open window and yelled "OBSENITIES!"
ROFL, mrp!!
Jera - there are so many alternative therapies aside from meds...I think for austistic children too (I'm thinking back to the days I worked at a summer camp for 'differently abled' children...). We had some kids who were 'fine' without their meds - but different structure, etc.... I don't have any schooling/background or a good path for info...but if I come across anything, I will send it your way....
the innocence of our babies!!
mr pres - tee hee hee hee!!!! That's a RIOT!!! 8 D
I just had a similar experience tonight --- Kristianna has a scratch on her nose that I have no idea where it came from -- so I asked her, "Where did you scratch your nosey" Too which she responded in a bright tone, "Like this!" and proceeded to scratch her nose with her finger :)
lol grey!! very cute!!
Woulfie... 8 D tee hee hee!!
When my daughter was about to have her birthday (4th) a friend of ours was making a fuss about it... he said "so, if you are 3 now, what are you going to be on your next birthday?" To which she replied "REALLY EXCITED!"
And on that note, I must go to bed -- should have turned in an hour ago, but can't seem to pull myself away ;) Will be back tonight to find my last 43 :) G'Nite and (*HUGS*) for all!!!
I was going to bed an hour ago -- but got on a roll. 24 for tomorrow, see you then! :)
mr pres...hopefully you've written these down to save as memories...too funny!! Well kids...as Woulfie says... I've reached the 1/2 way point and now must bid adieu...my eyes are getting sleepy...should've gone to bed at the flip...but resistence is futile!! HUGS to all.... Nightie Nite!!! oo \_/
Nite, GW!!
{{EB}} Sweet dreams!
Goodnite grey, cyber, eastern!!
Just got caught up from when I wandered a=off to shop at eBay... LOL @ mrp's daughter... that's what you get when you try to corrupt youth... And tyvm EB, if you are still here....
Jera, I was half expecting her to tell me to 'get lost' but it didn't occur to me she didn't know what 'obsenities' meant!
I might have to try that on Sprite... she's nearly ten... I try not to cuss too much around her, so I usually say "expletive deleted" ...
What time is it in your part of the world, mrp?
it is 7.30pm (Sydney)
I still find that amazing, here we are chatting & it's such different times of day in different parts of the world...
sorry, was just on the phone to said daughter... my kids are 300km north having a wonderful beach holiday!!
any clue on the or6 ??
That's so cool, mrp! We go to the beach every other year, alternate with the mountains... this summer we are going to a gathering of the clans (Scottish) in the mountains
Sorry, I haven't gotten that far... just passed halfway & am getting my list in order so I won't get confused towards the end...
Scottish clan gathering... sounds like fun!! We seaside and flat plain holiday every year.
I start from the bottom of the grid and work my way up so I don't get confused either... I pen down what I am unable to find and keep going!!
I'm a huge Aussie-phile (must have been one in a former life)... I need to get my hands on some Vegemite for my Girl Scout Troop... we are celebrating Australia Day
I kept messing up & wasting paper, so now I just copy & paste the list onto windows & shrink the screen so I can see both... type in what I have more or less in order...
vegemite... my kids go through 800ml jarfuls at a time! Have you had it with avocado and cheese melt!?
I have never had it, but I want to try... & intorduce the Girls to it... trying to get my hands on an Aussie Guide uniform as well... What would you suggest for a first taste (wanting to make it as good as possible)... on buttered toast bits, maybe?
Jera, if you use firefox browser, ther is an extension called Quicknote that you can open within Firefox. no need to minimize windows with it.
jera, it is an acquired taste... very strong taste, so only put a tiny smidge on toast and maybe melt cheese over it... then go from there
Cheese is always a good food tempter...
oh my .... I have been monkey typing the ke!!! what a dork!!
Howdy, Angelsong, didn't see you there... thanks for the tip!
mps said a word... mps said a word!! (bad form, Lady!)
oh!!! no I didn't mean to!! haven't even done that end of the puzzle!!
I've found it have to watch that more closely as I've aquired the Babble vocabulary...
Mr P. Why are you not watching the tennis??!! Serena is playing.
I am watching... I am watching three different matches... Serena is FAT!! There, I said it! She has piled on the icecream thighs and is out of shape!! Print it!!
Helen, who are you rooting for!!?
that is so funny and so true
Does anyone have the ar5/10... I've decided to work on the beginning...
Any stories???

Jera, ar5/10: ar4/4 plus a vowel

10:46am here. 76 words found on my grid. Stevie Wonder's 'Talking Book' in my headphones... The day looks good.
Hi again Jac!! 5 words to find!! giving up!!
Giving up? With 19+ hours to go on the grid? Why? Gather your family around, they'll find the words! If they don't we'll all clue you in.
I mean giving up for the night! it is almost 10pm and have to work tomorrow... hopefully will be able to get onto the grid to finish the FIVE words tomorrow!
serena williams looks set to go to the 2nd round... she is panting like a racehorse though!
morning all, how did Henman do?
a clue please? co5/16
and did Henin beat Hingis, I think they were playing each other
ferr, he is still playing - one set all - almost at the end of the second set , all equal
will check on the hingis match... have to surf through the 'active' channels to find it!
thanks mrp
Mrpresident, are you in Melbourne?
henman just lost the 2nd set Tursunov has a 2 sets to 1 lead now
I mean third set
I am in Sydney, watching the tele!
is it as hot in Sydney as Melbourne?
usually hotter in Sydney... closer to the equator!
Wish I was there, was in Melb 2 years ago and went to watch the tennis, very hot though and spent most of day in beer tent, well, someone has to
co5/16 - a coder or decoder.
you must be baking
got it, thanks jac
As for the tennis - got too much of that at my senior school, where Ann Hayden Jones was a pupil, then more...
oh dear... sounds like a good day in the beer tent! Hingis is playing a russian player first
Hiya Ferrari. Seem to just keep missing you lately. E-mail me!
my husband is very rude about her
Martina Hingis (SUI) vs. Vera Zvonareva (RUS)[30] match starting now is Michael Lammer (SUI) vs. Andy Roddick (USA)[2]
thanks mrp, did you get the co5/16 from jac's clue?
thank you for your up-dates MrP will have to go and put tv on and try and find some live coverage, luckily we don't get all those commercial breaks like you do on Channel 7, that is a pain
oh.... will get to it now!! So busy with the tennis
mum, I also have foxtel!! can watch 3 matches at a time!!
well, must be good to be multitasking like you, 3 tennis matches and a bit of babble on the side!
co5/16 - Supplmental clue - Short company + first 3 letters of a ten-year period.
*supplEmental.
mum, my husband says I am SCARY because of my multi-tasking/talking/reading/ watching/listening!!!
your'e sunning yourselves or you would be if it was daylight for you and I've just put my washing out and it's pi**ing it down, can I beam over?
Mrp, I had already guessed you were female, no man can juggle as many things at once!
thanks Jac.... best clue ever!!
It's raining a bit here also, Ferrari. My son's just brougt me a cuppa. I was also, just looking out of the window, with my headphones on, going to say, since I saw daughter's b/f get into her car, say ,'Has she gone out without kissing me goodbye?' Seems she has, since car has now gone.:-(
LOL mum, cooking/ cleaning/ answering questions/ giving commands/ repeating questions/ challenging arguments/ feeding the animals...... and the list goes on and on and on!!
ferr, it is humid as hell here and pi**ing down too!! But you are welcome....!
I hate it when they do that, always feel bereft. perhaps you didn't hear her cos of the headphones
have to go now, got a lunch date, catch you later, happy babbling/multitasking!
bye bye mummy, there you are jac that's for you too
bye mum... enjoy lunch!
And do we get thanked for all that, MrPres? Most of the time, NO! Hope we get to see them regretting that at our funerals! Oh, too bitter! Sorry! Forgive me. It all just gets to me sometimes.
jac... I feel for you!! I am hating my daughter growing up... they forget us!!
they'll understand one day jac
jac, I ban my family from going one step anywhere when I am feeling that way... they have to give me 'attention' and understand I love them, then they can move!!
my eldest has just gone away until May, Seattle, Mexico, Guatemala and Bolivia and i doubt if I will hear from her
Yes, MrPres., sometimes they do! Esp., if we've been through hell with them. These days, I don't know what face to expect from her. Doesn't really matter wehat I do or say in the meantime though. Last thing I did that made her hug me a lot was lose a few pounds of weight. Not much fun that, considering she has anorexia.
Jac!! Not a healthy situation for anyone!! I am sorry!!
Oh, I'm sorry! Too much! Sorry, it just got to me.
that's not easy to deal with jac, lol
I think I'll just shut up now and look for words.
Jac, hope you get/got help for yourself and the rest of your family... eating disorders are horrid, horrid and painful! I feel so much for you...
Ok, help with the co8 please!! eluding me!!!
MrPrs - the so-called 'help' for the rest of the family consisted of laying all the blame on 'The Mother' - so, as we all felt, not much bloody help. We've worked it out though, as best we can.
why isn't yorker a word? babble obviously doesn't play cricket. don't get upset jac' easier said than done I know
Sorry, haven't looked at BJ's list yet, sso don't know scores, but don't have a co8 yet here.
bable certainly doesn't play cricket - there's at least a few cricketing terms it doesn't accept ... *sigh*
mother's are an easy target aren't they, so grossly unfair
Ferrari - Indeed they are! 'Blame the mother!' the easy way out for everyone, it would seem.
Jac, it's always our 'fault' . We did give birth, survive, then manage to feed and cloth them, give them love/warms/education/more love, care for them when they were sick, sacrifice every cent we have.... and we are still to 'blame'.... tell them to FO and shut their pie-hole!!
MrPres - you might be proud to know that on behalf of all we mothers, I did just that!
COOL JAC!! ROFLMAO!!
mrp take your ro6/18 and you get your co 8
I think I mentioned the non-acceptance of 'Yorker' earlier on in the grid.
sorry jac didn't see that
thanks Ferr!! that is a beauty!!
can't believe it's a valid word can you
co8/45 - To rotate in conjunction with another body. More valid than cooiers, or whatever it was, a few grids ago!
Jac! Words! :P
any clue for the re8/50 please
So that's the ro6/18....
re6/24 over again
re8 take your second 6/24 and do it again (prefix)
For the re8 that is
thanks mrp
ferr... I am using the co8 word at work tomorrow, for the group of suck-ups that take turns sucking up!!
Ty haz and Mrp, all done
3 words to go.... I am tired.... sorry ca6/30 Please!
Well done, davetins!
Good day to you all!
davetins gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
used to hold wine MrP
what do you do mrp?
Good morning, Sprite.
I own a baby goods retail store!
cd6/30 decant wine into one
dave... I tried cooler but not working!
Atalante - if I accidentally posted a grid word, I have to say I don't give a flying f4/13 right now. Sorry!
cd6??? Don't tell me this is another unword-grid!
mrp you decant wine into your ca6, hi sprite
Try what you drive for 1st 3
oops, make that cA6/30
it's from the top c and go left
sorry Jac! It was just a bit of an obvious one :) *hughug*
replaces a bottle Mr P
thank you! thank you! got the silly *can't spell* word!
next one please (only 2 to go!) ar5/12 the 1st one
Atalante - must be an obvious word I havwn't yet found! I will, eventually...
Jac (((HUGS!)))
ro6 Jac ;) in the definition of the co8. I shouldn't notice these things ....
intensity of emotion for the ar5/12 Mr P
ar5/12 is an american spelling too
thank you thank you again now for the finale!! ar6/18
when you are behind in your payment Mr P
ar plus re4/4
ar6, when you get behind with payments you are in one or these
sorry of
Just realised I'd already got the word Atalante mentioned. Took the sharpness of The Darkness singing, 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' in my headphones to bring it back to me though!
Sad, but true, I really do need my rock music to keep me on on even keel!
Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah! I'm FINISHED !! Give it too meeeeeee
not sad! it works!
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR MRPRES*~*~*~*~*
well done mrP
WTG mrP! Hiphip hooray!
Thank you sooooo much for the clues!! you guys are the best!! *(*(*(love fireworks!)*)*)
three cheers for mrp
Omigod, I just realised the legendary Sprite is In The House! erk... feverishly looks for more words from grid...
:P
*waves to Sprite*
only 2 k words today sprite
Will continue to to my grid to rock music from now on today. Motorhead 'Ace of Spades' in my headphones now... if that doesn't focus me or kill me, nowt will!
Hi dear gang :) Still 2 K words too much, but manageable... I guess ;)
I am noticing Sprite and Ferrari being 'cream o the crop'.... *~*~*~CONGRATS!!~* ~*~*
P.S. That Motorhead track might kill me if I play it in car or lorry with my OH! He tends to 'head bang' to it! He's the driver!
When in Dutch you say 'good luck' to someone, you can say 'sterkte'. It's in the grid. Very distracting.
Good afternoon everyone : )
Hiya Lola.:-)
hi lola, thanks mrp, miles behind sprite though
Hey sprite, it's the same in afrikaans! : )
Spirte IS the cream!!
Lola, that's fun! :) Just heard a song from a Dutch theater man, 'If you go away' in Afrikaans. (Moe nie weggaan nie). So very beautiful!
that sounds a bit rude mrp!
Sprite - like I said earlier, I see lots of Welsh words in the grids, also v. distracting. I see French words, too, but many of them are 'allowed'...
Never mind the rankings, just come on and have fun with me!
Oh Ferr... ! pick your head out of the gutter!! LOL
sprite, have you ever heard any David Kramer?
sorry
has henman lost yet?
Lol ferrari! Lola, can't say I have. Should I?
There's a song called 'If You Go Away'. Can't remember who sung it now, but it's a 70s one, I think.
ferr... he lost!
sprite, was just curious : ) He is quite well known in SA and writes/performs some very funny as well as some very sad afrikaans songs.
That is the song I just heard in Afrikaans, Jacula.
I'll try to find some of his music then, lola, sounds worthwhile :) Thanks!
just have to hope murray wins then
*celebrates little private party: found both Ks!!!* Drinks for everyone on me!
sprite, you may enjoy Koos Kombuis too. He is sort of folky afrikaans rock : )
Damn! I do know this song & artist. I run some music threads on other sites and this has come up before. Trying to remember now...
murray v chela - might be a toughie!!
Originally it is French, Jacula. 'Ne me quitte pas'. I know Nana Mouscouri has sung it, among others. The english version has known a lot of different artists bringing it. The Afrikaanse version is by Herman van Veen and almost made me cry, to tell the truth.
your'e right there mrp
Oh my goodness, where has the day gone?? I must dash, see you all later : )
bye lola
run lola run!!
Bye lola!
I think it is a male French artiste I know it from in UK charts... it won't come to me right now though and I really can't be bothered to trawl back through months' worth on the other forums.... Not meaning I don't think this discussion is worth it!
Lo-Lo-Lola-Lola... (The Kinks)
Jacques Brel probably.
problement!
One for Dr_God in my headphones right now! ZZ Top - Gimme All Your Lovin'.
*Gimme some private clues, too!* ROFLOL.
LOL Jac!!
Should we write a zz Top parody song, based on Babble, for our Jamie? What say you all?
I rather fancy a Lo Lo Lo Lo Lola parody!!
"You light up my life"
Sorry, if that came all unannounced! Writing parody songs is one of my professional thingeys...
Okay - ideas now. Decide what ong we're gonna parody first.
'well, we drank champagne and babbled all night in the computer candlelight....."
*song
LOL, MrPres. That's a good start.
"babbling the night away..."
well, I'm not the world smartest chick but when bj's list came out I was the greatest hit Oh yeah my babbler, bab bab bab babaa..babbler
"Babble I am leaving, I must be on my way... I'll be missing you... You know it's you, babble, giving me the courage and the strength I need..."
Jump - Vn Halen playing her right now. Oh! correct that! It's Battleship Chains now by Georgia Satellites.
Oh! You're all way too good. Too many songs give possibilities! Let's try to decide a song! We need to create a Babble Anthem. I guess it has to be a ZZTop one? Yankee Rose by David Lee Roth in my headphones right now! Sounds like the return of the Babblegrid! LOL.
Am hunting one last unwilling F in the meantime - and after that I need 30 more words starting with another letter!
JAMIE! ARE YOU HERE? Give us the song and we will create the anthem.
"Grid of hope and glory..."
imagine all the babblers
It's my babble grid, give me so much heartache makes me so darn sick! Can't get the last re4 clue and I just wanna die (sung to "she's my cherry pie")
Sprite - sorry, can't help., because I've been listening to rock music and chatting, and haven't got that one yet.
That's it, ferrari... that one can be made into something very funny :)
yeh ferrari!
LOL mrP! Never mind, Jacula, I'll hunt the little b@stard down. No mercy for the wicked!
Do I vote for sprite, ferrari or MrPres? This is SOOOO hard!
Hi guys, just thought I'd chip in my suggestion of "Babble, babble" to the tune of "Rebel, rebel".
I vote for the Imagine song :)
vote for mrpresident
mrP for president, you mean? ;)
vote for ferrari!
i like that yoink
or what about Congratulations
Congratulations... and definitions...
babble babble, your grid is a mess babble babble, you have no regrets babble babble, your words are so sad hot dog babble, that fart word is bad!!
Hiya Yoink! That song has distinct possibilities. There are so many that could though. Do you think I should e-mail Jamie to as for his top 3 or 4 that we should parody?
ROFLOL!
MrPres- the David Bowie one is good so far.
Heh, I had thought of "Your grid is a mess" too!
Never mind what Dr_God replies, 'Your grid is a mess' goes into the Babble archives!
going to have to finish later, must try out my new exercise bike, I keep wearing them out and getting them replaced before the guarantee runs out, this is the third one now, see y'all later, good luck with the song
Bye ferrari, have fun!
bye ferr... thanks for all the fish!
"I want to ride my bicycle, but babble holds me here... I want to ride my bicycle, but I won't get it done I fear..."
Oh, you wear exercis bikes out, Ferrari? I won't boher putting our on e-bay then! Just ask for a virtually unused price before you bid! LOL.
Bye Ferrari, and I have to go too, just a flying visit.
that's the story of my life sprite, exercise the brain with babble then the body
Sounds like a very healthy life style to me, ferrari!
Damn! Someone else on the exercise bike? I'll have to replace the drive belt YET AGAIN!
I've had at least 6 jac I like to 30 miles or an hour don't always manage cos I'm too lazy
definitely sprite but I still don't lose weight!
roddick is slapping lammer all over the court!!
Ferr- I prefer real bkes, but I do not like kids telling me, 'Lady, you're too old to ride a bike!' Little Shits!
don't get upset again jac!
lol Jac!!
or roddick is lamming slapper
If I haven't had a heart attack by the time I get up the hill and back round again to them, I may feel obliged to run them down!
ferr.... I agree!
Teenagers with Tyremarks! That has a certain 'designer' ring to it, does it not?
Jac, next time those little angels say that, grab them by the handle bars and show them what a real wheelie is like!!
jac I can't ride real bikes, all I can do is fall off
Got to go... thanks for the fun, guys, and happy hunting.
bye sprite, really must go now lol
then give them a super wedgie and perch them on the seat "removed for their ultimate comfort", and tell them to FO and shut their pie-hole!
A yea! A real wheelie! I'd rather show them that little baby on a motorbike or in a car! Now that would have them sh8/55 themselves!
Oh Jac... I haven't had a good laugh in such a long time! Thanks!!
edited my song (sung to 'rebel rebel') babble babble, your grid is a mess babble babble, you have no regrets babble babble, your clues are so sad hotdog babble! the 'fart' word is bad!!
I am off! (in more ways than one!) have a good grid everyone!
Hello everyone!
Hi Molecule!
My friend, Aileen A - a well-known novelist is so blind she has to have just 2 to 3 letters at a time put up in largest font possible on her keyboard. This does not prevent her from writing romantic sagas that sell!
Hi Molecule - you've come back for more then? :)
haha! yeah... it's kinda fun I guess..
you'll be fully addicted like the rest of us before too long!! It's quite a good grid today - enjoy!!
Keep on with that for the whole song through, Mr. Pres. It's a winner!
will do, how many words?
181 words
whoa, didn't expect that many!
181 words in total today.
Hey Jac, love the idea of the parody song - can you done one on the ZZTop song you mentioned earlier - we can start a section on BabAnon!!!
FMitch - I could do one one the ZZTop song I mentioned, but I'd like Dr_od to give us a title to go for really.
:) have you emailed him?
Dr_od? LOL! And Roflol. (Listening to Alice Cooper's 'Poison' which could also apply to Babble! right now).
FMitch- not yet, no. Will do shortly.
first I was afraid, I was petrified when you said 181 words I think I almost died....
certainly would be appropriate for a couple of the grids we have had recently. Good one grandan!!!!!
go on now go, walk out the door - youve finished the whole grid and you wont help us anymore...
Oh for an l5 Oh an l5. I know if I learn how to spell I might just find the 5...
Okay, Ive pulled myself back together again now.
good morning marigold. good morning everyone else. Been busy searching for words. How is everyone?
Hi Peri!
good morning periwinkle and everyone
Granadan - that was great!!!!!!!!! Hi Periwinkle and Marigold
Hello!
awww, why doesn't afro work :P
catch ya's
See ya Mol
Does someone have a clue for the tr7? Please
don't have it yet marigold
Me neither :(
afternoon everyone ^_^
(((((((Miy)))))) where have you been????
FMitch, I've been...hiding away, I think ^_^ ((((FMitch)))) nice to be back in the log though!
I found it. Never mind
you deserted us *sniffs*
what is the theme today?
marigold may I have a clue for the tr7 please
Good to see you, we were only talking about you yesterday, people were asking if anyone had seen you recently! Hold on - are you at school or at home?
*passes tissue* there there now :)
talking of missing persons. Doxy1lover? still no signs....
I'm at home at the mo...not well :/
ta miy *wipes nose and passes tissue back*
BH! Miya! Was wondering where you had got to!
But hey - I was being spoken about? (*^_^*) I'm looooved! :D
Hey Jac! (((Jac))) Oh...er...thanks, Granadan...
It could have been FAR worse....
lol! I don't want to think about what's implied there :D though I somehow managed to cough up some blood this morning :/ (hence being off school)...do I win in the gross stakes? Do I? Do I?! :D
miya - has your bedroom door been relocated now and did the insurance pay for it? I hope it did!
pass that tissue again, the farting dachshund is on parole and on my lap for half an hour - and is being sick....
aaah, it is lovely to have my door back ^_^ So now I can get on with all that I do in peace...no more family members watching me air guitar :D
Look Miya -I once stayed up a whole night, as a mother, in your defence. I don't want to see you playing silly victim now! Sorry! You don't know about all that.
Granadan...?! The farting dachshund?! ...I didn't know you knew my Grandpa :D <<silence, brain!>> *passes box of tissues and stands well back*
Periwinkle - did we ever get a clue from Marigod on the elusive tr7/36?
Ooooh, Jac, this is a story I want to hear ^_^ *pulls up a cushion* story time!
Ta Miy *uses tissue and hands it back again* Youre a pal!
FMitch Nope, will request again
can some one give me a clue
marigold, may I please have a clue for the tr7, 2nd request
No fmitch, she is keeping it to herself..... mushrooms we are.. kept in the dark and s4/7 on....
I...uh...*groans* yes, Granadan, you're welcome...*takes tissue away with rubber gloves, gas mask, clean air filter, protective suit and US army escort* x_x
tr5/14, the secret meeting of two lovers, tr6/24 add a vowel, tr7/36 one of the lovers? : ) Hi miyavi! : )
Miy, why are you hiding the tissue box? *stares uncomprehendingly*
Hi Lola! How are you? Your icon is so pretty :)
Woohoo Lola Hi and thanks for the clues!!!
Well, er, Granadan, about that...*trying to think up excuse* *fails* ooooh, look, something shiny!
Oooh!
HI, lola, thanks so much for the tr/7
*runs*
I'm good thanks miyavi, and you? Thank you, that is a scene from the mountain range not far from where I used to live. My favourite place to go camping : )
Quick, give me a tissue to werap it in... hang on theyre gone..... *one more circuit of the tank and the brain graduaslly goes back to zero*
Hi Fmitch! : )
Hey lola - is the icon from SA?
FMitch, yes. It's the Drakensberg (Dragon's mountains)...or at least a few of the peaks along the range : )
wow! My icon's a little less imaginative, but it's becautiful to me :D
miyavi, I'm just lazy, that's all! We had scenery day last week and I still haven't changed it : D
- Sorry, but that's a bedtime story you are never going to hear.
Awww Jac *throws cushion at Miy and sulks*
lol Lola! Jac, what if I do my puppy-dog eyes? *does impression of deranged, cross-eyed rottweiler*
Just been looking up where that is Lola - not a part of SA I made it to mind you I've only been a few times and that was on business but did have one great w/e at Sun City.
hey hey hey! I'm of a fragile mental state, Granadan! I just lost something on an e-bay auction, that is :) Must...take...vengeance. ..
must...kill...high...bidder I hate it when that happens!
clue for the de8 anyone?
someone who de5/12's
FMitch, did you do the valley of the waves?? I've never been to sun city myself. I did most of my holidaying in game reserves and up in Zimbabwe : )
de5/12 and then turn it into ther person that does it.
Peri de8 This is the actual person who stops someone from doing de5/12 above this word
Me too! butchering spree time. We're looking for a rabid X Japan fan carrying a CD like the one in my icon ^_^
de8 - To prevent or discourage from acting, as by means of fear or doubt
I have tried making the de5 into de8 and must be spelling it wrong cause it won't accept it :(
Peri...add some extra "er's" at the end
Lola it is the most amazing surreal place wonderful, extravagent and actually given the inbalance of £ in the country a bit obscene but I loved every min. I have nothing but v happy memories of SA.
got the de8, it needed an extra consanent added in the middle
double consonant
Why won't it accept 'froat'? Chav language for throat?
Peri I forgot to mention that...
FMitch, that's great to hear! Would you go back then?
Lola - oh yes for sure, there si so much more to see and the people are wonderful, want to see Durba, and Cape Town and well the list is pretty long ... and so is the flight.
anyone have a clue for the co8/45
peri, add the ro6/18 : )
don't have the ro6/18
FMitch, tell me about it! If you go to Durban remember to head up the north coast....some very unique ecology and beautiful game reserves that way....*sigh* very homesick now! : (
ro6/18 You turn something around in a circle... you ro**** it
the earth ro****** around the sun
ro6/18- to turn around on an axis : )
Hi une! : )
thanks everyone, found the ro6 and then the co8 before I saw your additional clues
Une is that Jonboy?
hey, lola! And, yes, in all his black and white glory with a sprig of grass between his teeth!
Hey Une ^_^ Who's Jonboy...somebody I should know about? *raises eyebrows*
*lola feels old*
He's one of the Waltons...old TV show "Goodnight, Jon Boy..."
hey, miyavi! today's theme is the old tv show, the waltons--John Boy (Richard Thomas) was a key character :-)
oooh...looks like I'm slightly out of touch with the theme, then :/
he was typecast for a long time but now has had some considerable success on the Broadway stage in some solid dramas
Miya lol only slightly... :)
Morning everyone!
LOL Lola - you feel old!!! I am quite a few years older than you, darn now I feel old ....
miy dont worry - it was 1972 - before even my time! But i did think jonboy looked a bit tasty in "IT" when he was older....
Sorry guys, I don't do The Waltons. :)
Anyone else think ca7/40 is a funny word? I'm trying to think when it would be appropriate to use it in a sentence...
lol Missy! :) Granadan, Stephen King's IT? I've read the book...trying to work up the courage to watch the film :/
I changed my Grim Fandango icon for this Walton one despite the fact I never watched the show when it was on
Missy ... how's about, my that was a ca7/40 cake!
MissyMe - Anne of Green Gables hair was more ca7/40 colured than mine?
Darleen Good enough lol! :D
miy - have you read the shining? The film was crap. It was great, Pet semetary gives me nightmares....
FMitch...that one is bordering on poetry :)
I LOVE stephen king novels. All the framing shows through but it's his characters I really like best. When I got to the end of IT (the book) I cried because I had to say goodbye to the characters.
Oh yeah - Im nearly at the end of "Needful Things" and Im going to miss it.
yup, I've read the Shining :) must get over my morbid fear of evilly possessed hotels lol :D
yes, another good one! Have you read the Tower series/
I quite enjoyed Carrie, though it was far too short! It really intrigued me...the film was disappointing though
Granadan Which version are you referring too, there was a Shining T.V. miniseries and The Shining movie? I'm currently waiting for the second to last Dark Tower Book so I can set them all in the row and start reading from beginning of the series to the end. Should take me about a year lol
Miy, if you ever get to the state, go to Estes Park, Colorado. The Shining was "set" in the Stanley Hotel. Both the book and the movie.
the film of green mile was brilliant - true almost to the word to the book. tower series?
I read the first Tower story about 20+ years ago in the Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction. I was HOOKED and thrilled when he began churning out novels. I have the last 2 and am dragging my feet about reading them cause they weigh a ton.
Yeah, the Dark Tower series, the Gunslinger? Based on the Song of Roland and weirder than anything King has ever done.
The Dark Tower series...the story of Roland the Gunslinger's quest to find and fix the Dark Tower
did you ever read misery or gerald's game? those were two of his best
Darleen...er, think I'll pass on that :) Might just be the thing that pushes me over the edge ^_^; Stephen King is one of my favourite authors though. He and several others inspired me to want to be an author myself
Argh, Misery had me cringing in my chair! "hobbling"...*shudders*
Oh wow check out http://www.stanleyhotel.c om/ the picture of it in the snow is AWESOME!
Yes to Misery. Couldn't get past the first chapter in Gerald's game.
I loved misery... another one that i COULDNT put down. and then wished I hadnt finished.
so you're not really "hard core"?! :-)
Estes Park is the cutest town!! Growing up, we used to go there every summer.
But his greatest EVER book? Have you reaD "tHE sTAND"?
Well now why didn't I think of that? The Stanley is very old and a landmark in Estes Park. It's a real beauty, isn't it?
Darleen I ordered the Song of Susannah and The Dark Tower but only the last book came. The Song one apparently got lost in the mail so I had to reorder it from my book club I'm sitting here looking at the Dark Tower book antsy to start reading it
Une, if you were talking to me, then...hard core?! moi?!
I'm lost, Granadan, sorry. But I've read The Stand and it was my all time favorite until I read IT. The Dark Tower series is off all on its own.
Granadan I've ready that one about 7 times... M-O-O-N... that spells obsessed!
afternoon/morning all
miyavi, was actually referring to Darleen saying she couldn't get past the first chapter of gerald's game :-)
Morning bubbles :)
i WOULD LOVE TO DO THE CASTING FOR A FILM OF THAT. lARRY WOULD HAVE TO BE kIEFER SUTHERLAND (YOUNGER). tHE WALKING DUDE WOULD HAVE TO BE THAT CHAP WHO SANG IN \sPANDAU BALLET... HE HAS THE EYES AND GRIN.
Flaming caps lock
LOL, Man I thought you were getting really excited there for a moment!
Okay, cool...I thought it didn't make much sense, but nobody else seemed to be responding ^_^ hey, I'm just arrogant :D
granadan The T.V. miniseries, The Stand, was wonderful...I identified with the actors with their characters immediately
I dodnt know it had been done! *frantically starts tapping google*
haven't seen you around much lately, miyavi . . . were you on vacation? or just logging on late at night?
Speaking of The Stand, SK actually lived in Colorado for a while way back when. Visiting Estes Park and the Stanley is where he got the idea for the setting for The Stand. just fyi.
Rent it if you can...Stephen King is a hit or a miss when he puts his books to film but this one is a winner. Randal Flagg is scary....everyone just fits their character so well...
miyavi!
MissyMe... I thought they could have done a better job with Harold Lauder & Frannie... the others were mostly spot on, though.
hi missy, how are you? Not sure if i should start this puzzle or do what i'm paid to do!!!
Une, I've been skiving a little ^_^ Hey Eva! How are you? :)
Trish...I thought the actor that played him was great. He started out wimpy and whiney and developed very well throughout the series. :)
Fine today Bubbles, and you? This puzzle is full of words with odd suffixes but was fun to do.
peachy dandy miyave - just checking in. * crosses self at thought of miyavi sky diving *
* tries to eat oatmeal - can't do it - runs to kitche for a waffle *
Heh, each to their own :) I read him as burning with angst and frustration and intellect... he seemed wimpy in mind as well as in spirit on the show. Lack of spirit was my problem with Frannie, as well.
good thanks, think i'll give it a go
miyavi, had to look that one up in the English-to-American dictionary!
sky diving?! is this something I should know about? lol :3 incidentally, I will sky dive...if there's a crowd of j-rockers waiting for me at the bottom ;)
oops! Sorry Une :) What's the American equivalent?
"playing hooky" is supposedly the American equivalent--but don't stop--love learning all these Britishisms!
Trish...I'm with you on Frannie. But the read I read Harold in the book he was extremely intelligent but self-conscious, low self-esteme...I thought the actor pulled the combination off well, and slowly became menacing as he gained confidence in himself
Okay Bubbles...I'm here if you need any clues :)
Right ho! I'll November that next time I come up the apples and pears to go on my box. Though trying to understand some Yankee speak can drive a Brit sixes and sevens! *beams smugly*
thanks, might have to take you up on that seeing as bobsta's no longer around for me to nick his words!!!!
understood every word based on lots of old Brit movies on TV!
I enjoy listening to Cockney....such clever expressions!
*sulks*
Bubbles...lol
aaawww, miyavi . . .
i'll never be able to finish a puzzle again!!! But don't tell him!!!
Gah, I'm going brain dead here. Had to do some searching... speaking of horror writers ... anyone read Robert McCammon's Swan Song? If you liked The Stand you'll like this one.
Missy, you have a mutton pie for the sylvia plath? you good steeple. better watch out for all the bobby n' peelers though! *manic laugh* okay...even I know that makes no sense :/
awww Bubbles I didn't finish yesterday's because I was busy helping hubby putting in some shelves.
Missy, I wish I had felt the same thing, since that's what happened so well in the book. I just didn't buy his 'evolution' as it were. If they filmed the Dark Tower, who would you want to play Flagg? (since I assume the actor from the Stand would be a little old for it)
*sticks out tongue*
Nope - Ive been reading quotes from the series - and a lot of it isnt in the book (and yes, Ive got the unabridged version). I hate it when they start adding to dialogues for effect.
Miya! lol
Trish...I can't think of his name right now but the actor you plays the darker Wizard with the long black hair in the Potter movies...He would be great
Missy...but what did I say?! *confused* ã“ã®ã‚ˆã‚Šã‚ˆã „ã‚る〠éšã®è¡¨é¢ã‹ã€‚ 今ç§ã¯å˜²ç¬‘ã™ã‚‹!
wah! what happened there?!
omgsnape!? I mean *cough* alan rickman. A bit camp, but lovely choice, Missy :)
i never normally get to play at the weekend, we've just bought our first house so i definately won't be playing at the weekends, or evenings. Damn!!!
morning everyone! :)
Trish, do you have a choice? And I can't imagine anyone doing justice to the series...its so involved! Maybe Stephen King could hand the reins to Peter Jackson :D
miya, when I worked au pair in Paris with a Brit friend from Gloucestershire, I learned LOTS of new words and phrases . . . I vividly remember how shocked she was that I didn't know what she meant by "taking the mickey (or p***) out of someone"!
hi efor
Je ne peux pas comprendre le ce non plus. Je ne sais pas pourquoi j'introduis au clavier français. Veuillez l'accepter juste...
lol Une!!!
mais qu'est-ce que tu racontes, miyavi?! ca n'a pas de sens!!
Bubbles...how nice for you. Are you all moved in or still living out of boxes?
Hello efor :)
wont be moving in till probably march, the house needs alot of work doing (exactly what we wanted) the house hasn't had any work done to it for at least 30 years.
The one British phrase that just threw me when I first heard it is the expression Brits use when they telephone someone, they "knock them up"...this phrase has a VERY different meaning across the pond.
ooo Bubbles...I'd love to have an old fixer upper. :)
C'est mon petit secret ! Je colle hors de ma langue à vous. Désolé. Je suis un enfant désagréable...
*bangs head against desk* Babble is NOT foreign language friendly
Missy, I always though John travolta would be a good match to that part. He does 'fake friendly, with an undertone of lunacy' so very well. But now I may be sold on Snape ;)
tu es dingue!
Dieses ist besser. Es gibt weniger Akzente!
Trsh, he would be spot on, or the chap from spandau ballet, but just cos his voice is madder
MissyMe - that phrase has the same meaning that you refer to over here but also refers to when you went round to a friends house and knocked on the door.
oops, you just stepped outside my linguistic abilities!
Snape has that slyness, about him that I see in Randall Flagg. Secret thoughts play all over his face when he gives his lines, especially when he smiles. Interesting joice, John Travolta...
...er...le gasp :D
LOLOLOL!!
FMitch...so i can mean both...getting a girl preggos and knocking on someone's door?
its going to be great once finished, so glad that bobsta and my dad can do the work, otherwise it would be a nightmare.
Je ne peux pas aider mon ignorance !
as-tu appris le francais a l'ecole ou en France, miyavi?
Missy... lol, I'd keep hearing Rickman as the sherrif in Prince of Thieves.... "... with a SPOON'
Bubbles, I'm glad they're up for it. You'll have to post pics online after the task is done :)
Yup, fradd so Missy - that is the joy of language, it has to be taken in the context of the whole to get the right meaning.
rickman would be amazing in ANYTHING
Как мы предположены, что Ñледуем за вÑеми Ñтими иноÑтранными Ñзыками?
Trish...that's funny!
rickman would be amazing in nothing..... : )
Okay - it wont take russian characters.
Does anyone have another hint on ar 5/12?
lol, Lola !
Mon ecole enseigne la langue de l'AMOUR ! ...Tout mon temps est Japonais d'etude depense!
Granadan, I tried that with Japanese characters somewhere down the line :)
lola...I actually had to think about that...then it finally dawned on me...and he happened to be standing there in the buff backlit by the sun when it did
Yes - cool your ar... - means passion and spelt US style.
we will, we've only been in there since last wednesday and so much has been done already. I'll get bobsta to put some before and after.
What the heck was that message Granadan? As an expatriat Canadian, I must say it is nice to see the French being spoken...
tu te debrouilles bien, miyavi . . . je me demandais si tu avais peut-etre passe du temps en france . . . le japonais doit etre extremement difficile, eh?
ja314 ar5 = to have feeling/passion for someone
Or could be chav speak for "more difficult"
missy, for goodness sakes, get the sun behind YOU not him! : )
my attempt at getting this to accept russian
ja ar 5/12 add a "c" to ar4/4 by inserting it as the next-to-the-last letter
It's all greek to me.
lola...should I tell the angels to stop singing Hosannahs too? :D
missy, you couldn't send me a picture or two...could you?? ; )
lola does you're e-mail accept porn? :)
Thanks. That helped! Onward.
missy, damn! Hadn't thought of that.... }(
YW ja :)
We all have clever enough imaginations here...who needs visual aids... <evil grin>
missy, good point! Excuse me for a while...... } )
merci ! Je pense que le Japonais est reellement plus facile, parce que les verbes ne changent jamais! Yume no shikata :D
lol Sushi :D
My highest word-point so far is 27. Must be something bigger out there I can see. Better put my x-ray glasses on.
an alternative ca6 wine container yields 30.
Ampèreheure ! Lunettes magiques
´Ã¿Ã¾Ã»Ã¾Ã¶ÃµÃ½ , þ ûõôÑõü ÷ð òÑõüø øüà and in summation... ãã ã Thank you for coming.... Now if you'll proceed to the foyer, the Ladys' Auxillary has been kind enough to provide milk and their special Muddy River double chocolate chip layer cookies...
oh for goodness sake.
sushi, did you get the orange vegetable? You can add the sometimes vowel to that to make it an adjective
Missyme - get back to work and quit letting your mind wander. I can't concentrate I'm laughing so much.
Okay, Missy, you asked for it :D ç§ã¯èµ¤ã‚“åŠæ„›ã™ã‚‹ 〠ãã—ã¦ãã‚ŒãŒæ¨©åˆ©I æ„›ã‹ãªã‚Šã™ã¹ã¦èµ¤ã‚“åŠ ãªã‚‰ and that's japanese, doncha know :)
highest I have is a 70. Also something you might do (past tense) to a bottle if you only drank halfo of it *goes off muttering about wasters of wine and half bottle people*
Morning everyone! :)
DONE...anyone need a clue?
guten morgan, Toes :)
Octarine you are my new bst friend. I already had the orange veggie so that was a snap. Whether or not that is a word is irrelevant.
Miya Japanese is a lovely language...but what you just typed there looks like what a dubbed Japanese karate film sounds like...lol lol Sushi
Hi toes! : ) sushi, welcome to the land of nonsense words! : )
Ampereheure ! Je vous applaudis, Ouwachita
the bottle clue is also what you are when you drink all the contents of the bottle.
Ouwachita Yay ~%~%~%~Fireworks~%~%~%~
Lol Missy! :D A detailed translation of what I said: "I love you baby, and if it's quite all right I love you baby!" nice to see my open uni course isn't going to waste, no? :D
ty fan...I havent had french since high school....many many years ago
Miya. I have my Babbleonian dictionary at the ready.
<<<<<<<(((everyone)))>>>>>>>
Good morning! (Especially nice to see you, Myavi Fan! How have you been?)
Sushi...Vous aurez besoin de lui autour ici !
Hi harp : )
Thanks Harp! (((huggles))) how are you? :)
speaking of Babble...has BrandyJack ever considered selling the little program he made...I would buy it :)
Hi TSM and Harp :)
Santa sagt "ho ho ho"
I'm good, mya! Had a nice holiday, etc. We've had great snow so I'm skiing a lot, now that the Christmas Music Vortex is done with me!
Missy - what programs is that?
*gasps* Missy! You wouldn't cheat.... would you?? : O
Miya...those words sound like lyrics, is that what they are?
Wow, Harp, sounds great! I love to ski, but by some bizarre twist of fate I just never get to do it locally :D
Toe...the one he made that translates the puzzle into the first two letters of each word, the points for each and other stats... Is it cheating to use it?
Missy, it also spits out all the words! : )
Miya - you'll be happy to know I can pullup translation.com faster than I can find babble-words. I have been decoding your French as you type it. Mine Canadien francais is underused.
Missy, I think they were :) Can't remember the name of the song, though. Most likely "I love you baby" Just a wild guess
skiing changes your whole outlook on those cold dark wet days known as winter.
lola ACK! I wouldn't want that! Maybe he could modify the program to just give us what he usually posts in General topic on BA
Lol Sushi! I wish I'd thought of that when an internet friend was talking to me in Spanish...
missy - sounds awesome! Not sure if it would be cheating. i mean we give clues on here all the time so I think it's ok
Indeed it does, Harp...winter is my favourite season anyway, though :) Possibly because my birthday is in it, and coming up :)
Toe...lola just said the program also spits out all the words! If he could modify it so it doesn't and sell it to us he wouldn't have to worry about posting it on BA any more. :)
Miy - what date is yr birthday?
toes, you do know you can get that list at babblers anon, don't you? ...and when is moving day?? I am so excited for you! : )
Here's one for the Brits and Brit-wannabees. Did you get the Brit form of the word for the rubber stuff around the wheels on your car?
The 5th of February, FMitch :D Obviously, an international holiday and day of celebration :D
Sushi...I have no clue. Which word is it? I was thinking co6/33 but justa wild, wild west, over-the-pond guess
Er, sushi? Do you mean the one that ends consonant vowel, or the one that ends vowel consonant??
Oooohhhhh Miy - do we all get the day off work (fingers corssed) and have you logged it with Babbler for a theme day?
Ok you internationally wise bablblers - my clue is for ty**
oooh, I didn't consider that...And of course you can take the day off work on my birthday :) When your boss complains, accuse him of not honouring the birthday of a NATIONAL TREASURE
Tomorrow is Martin Luthern King holiday in the states...some businesses give you the day off, some don't.
actually MLK day is today.
Sushi...I should have guessed that! lol
Lola. both words - eureka.
actually MLK is today
Today is MLK Day.
lola - yes I know but I can't view it here at work. Most of the sites are blocked. This and email are the only things I can get to pop up for me
True, but some bosses give the following Monday off because it falls on a weekend
Missy is in another time zone. tee-heee. MLK day is today otherwise we'd all be at work not doing babble, right?? (guilty grin)
missy - sounds great! I wonder if he is going to market that. I want to know how he made it! Takes a great mind for that kind of stuff ;)
No, my icon is Angelina Jolie! :)
Toe I'm VERY impressed too. He just called it his "little program he just threw together" lol
Missy, today is Monday, not Sunday
fret not..... Miya's birthday logged in my diary. :D:D:D:D hi all!! :D *picks up Miya and twirls her around for happy new year hug* how are you????? :D
sushi, there is a third ty4 word that ends in a different vowel, btw : )
go TSM! I think Angelina Jolie is a terrific actress and I admire her off screen work (not counting Brad, of course)
Jen...thats what I get for staying up all night...geesh...I've misplaced a whole day! duh!
LOL Missy. You aren't the only one!
hey hey hey! hi all!
missy - Yeah what's with that! Just put it together quick.... It'd take me at least 2 months! haha
Toes, that is sucky! : ( Hi babbler! (((x))) : )
Darleen!! lol about Brad. She is indeed a great actress.
((Lola)) xx :D how are you, honeybunch?
*launches* BABS!!! *cheesy grin* I'm great thanks, how are you???
Yeah but Brad gets the last laugh ... they're pregnant. He never looked so happy.
Hi temple! : )
Missy, I'm a stay at home mom right now, and hubby is out of town on business, so nothing pressing for me and son... believe me, I know of misplaced days! :)
got it - thanks Lola. Too much chatter here. Like trying to get a word in at a frat party. I'm going to the bathroom. Bye.
all the better for a hug from you, Miya!!! Did you have a good christmas and new year? All my family came down with a virus, but I'm the only one who GAINED a few pounds. :'(
babbler, recovering from (another!) cold, but okay! How are you?? : )
imagine how jen feels! especially since she was waiting to start a family until friends was over...
hi all back again, had to do the work thing
Huh Temple?
Jen I'm retired and it seems to happen to me on occasion now. I have to make it a point to check the date to orient myself Darleen...they're pregnant? I'm so happy for them! May it fulfill all their dreams and may the press keep it's nose out of their relationship!
*makes a lemsip for Lola, leans over and puts it on her desk* I'm good thanks, Lola. Catching up on my sleep. I'm back in London now. : )
TO you know that for a fact? You're best friends with her? That must be why she was signed to make 4 movies in a row.
*pats* lol Babs! I had a great Christmas, thanks...I had a dir en grey day :D How was yours, apart from the ill family?
WB Bubbles :)
Darleen - I really like Angelina Jolie too. :)
LOL sorry jen - aniston not you : D
Missy, yes ... big write up in People. Actually Angelina seems to be very ok with the press seeing how happy she is with the kids and brad.
Thanks babs, but if I drink another one of those I'm going to turn into one! How about a hot-toddy instead?? Nice to be home? : )
Gotcha! tee hee. I was very confused since son was born in 2001. :)
I hate to say this because of the crap I may get but, I do think that Angelina and Brad make a better couple than Jen and Brad. Personality and everything.
Babbler - you got an email address I can email you on?
It was good thanks, Miya. My little niece started crawling on Christmas Day!!! And now she's working in one of those cheesy grins where she screws up her face to show me her two little teeth! Sooooo cute!! :D
hi Fmitch! try: babbler_2005@yahoo.co.uk
well missy that's what she told ME LOL
Toe, they do seem to fit well but what do I know. I don't know either of them personally and only get info second-hand from the paparazzi
TSM that makes two of us. I do not care for JA, never have. Not that I KNOW her or anything just don't think much of her acting abilities. But Brad seems to just glow with his new family. He reportedly said a couple of years ago he wanted a big family, 6 or 7 kids. And he's 40. Jen is 36. Do it now or don't. So now he's with Angelina who loves kids and plans on adopting one from every continent.
Toes, I was thinking, shall we have a Brad and Angelina day? Where all the guys are Brad and all the girls are the gorgeous Angelina? What do you think?
thanks
Temple lol
may i have a clue for the wa 8 please?
Babbler, I'll be Zahara...just because I like the name
OOOH, I like that idea and would even change my icon, for a change. ;-)
I like Brad and Angelina together. I agree, Brad looks really happy now. I feel sorry for JA, but I think they didn't want the same things.
TO .. you're PLAYING????
They love helping people, they travel all over the world feeding the hungry and helping out where they can. They raise money for tons of causes. They both love children and want a family really badly
I like their values and priorities, Toes. : )
Jen is rich and famous with a great job and many men after her...I'm not feeling sad for her
Not to carp on the JenAn thing, but SHE's the one filed for divorce.
go figure : D
I'm waiting for the tabloids to nominate B & A's baby for "sexiest fetus."
Temple wa8 Play online games? World of Wa****** (add first cr5/18)
TO ... did you find it yet? I'm still looking (between gossiping)
And personally I think Angelina is more exotic and sexy compared to Jen :)
LOL harp! LMAO!
HARP!!! rotflmao
Pine...I agree...she's doing just fine.
Toes, Angelina is up there as one of the most beautiful women in the public eye. She's stunning!
missy - I LOVE THAT CLUE! I play that game ROFL! :) *blushes*
hee hee hee. They're a great couple, actually.
I agree that Angelina is gorgeous. Hubby said, but her face is flat. And so it is. She's part american indian.
no that's the drawback of working backwards...i'll chew on it...i did n't recognize the game but i will get it! on the bright side - the end of the alphabet is not bad at all!
Toe, I play UO and Guild Wars :)
Angelina is also a bit unconventional even for an actress
yeah pine, that's why I REALLY like her.
temple, the cr5/18 is c plus what the built in lost to get off the island : )
I like how she stands her ground and is true to herself.
Temple first part of word is like the new movie, "Wa* of the Worlds...then add first cr5/18
Good morning, everyone :)
Hello cybernan :)
TO, the cr is like Arts & cr.....
thanks lola ! now for that game...
Hi cybernan! Babbler, it's amazing how she's grown and matured, as well. She's gone from crazed little girl to polished woman of the world in 10 short years.
She has a good heart, willing to stand up for people in thrid world countries
missy that is awesome :) WOOOO
got it! thanks! now my laundry calls! bbl!
Darleen, and all in the public eye, with some crazy times to deal with too.
k Temple...see in a few mins :)
And a crazy ex husband, LOL. That Billy Bob musta been a trial.
Darleen, the guy's a nutter..... : /
*lola thinks* Just how difficult can it be to monkey one damn ce4??!!
it's been fun all but I have to get my rather large behind off to the gym. Later!
Yes Babbler, he is, but a genius of a nutter.
lol Darleen! Later :)
see you later, Darleen! have fun! : )
Darleen lol have fun! work those buns...work those buns!!!
wah, Babs, I missed your post on your niece! That's so cute!!
agreed, Darleen, both a genius and a nutter! : )
This is a deceptively hard grid. Yes?
oh Miya, she's gorgeous!!! If I could show you right now, I would. :D
indeed Harp...the suffixes are what threw me
Oh. There are suffixes? That might help! I can't even get the four letter words today....
awww, I love baby/toddler smiles! I could do with one right now...I've just found out the drummer of one of my favourite bands has broken his neck...
plenty of "er's" around...and the ol' prefix standby "re"s
Lola, I missed your post about a hot toddy! *makes a super-dupe hot toddy, leans over and puts it on Lola's desk* yes sirreee..... it's good to be home! :D
Miya! that's horrible! How'd it happen?
Although Angelina is a little out there with her views om relationships, love, and passion... Kinda creepy if you haven't heard of it!
Oooh, thanks babs! *lola sips the best hot toddy she has ever tasted in a lady-like fashion*
omg, Miya, that's horrible. what happened?
M_Fan! *tickles*
Angelina Jolie is a 'little' out there??
what do you mean, Toes?
Toe, I haven't. I get so much of my news second hand about the stars. I just enjoy them for the parts they play and don't worry too much about their personal lives.
According to what I just read, he actually managed to do it by drumming too hard...watching a video of his band playing live, I can believe it...:/
Miya, so he was head-banging too hard? Oh dear. Will he get better? What are they saying?
Man, Miya, talk about Xtreme Rock! Is it serious to the point of being permanent?
Well in case you were curious, Angelina had a 10 year romance with another woman, even while she was married. Not only was she with another woman, she got into self mutilation with the woman. ICK!
The only part that wigs me out is the cutting :( not cool
is that true, Toes? For real?
Ouch Toe! That's so sad... Self-mutilation is a sign of low self-esteme. I hope she's grown strong enough to get over it
Between Angelina's wackiness, Madonna's weirdness... wonder what they are going to tell their kids when they get older!!
She called it quits with the woman a year after adopting her son Madox. So her and Brad must me happy together.... now :)
*reading frantically* I'm translating from Japanese as fast as I can...it's an awful thing to have happened though, the band have split up now but had a lot of lineup trouble...the guitarist died of accidental suicide in 1998, which lead to the suicide of a lot of fans :(
Madonna's not telling her kids anything..... and by the sound of things, they don't want to know either! Lourdes just wants a 'normal' Mum......
lol Jen Madonna's always given me a good laugh. If she was a man and old she'd be considered eccentric.
I know what kind of life are these kids getting? Spoiled, and not enough attention? Learning that anything goes because of what mom or dad's name is?
Miya...I have never heard that expression before, accidental suicide?
Miya - accidental suicide? hmmm. Sad to hear about the fans. dear dear.
M_Fan - that is so sad :( *eyes well up with tears* Lets save the world! Wonder twin powers activate! lol ;) Honestly it is heart breaking to hear. Makes you want to do more about things like that doesnt it? Help out...
Uh huh...when you are stressed, tying something loosely around your neck is supposed to relax you. The guitarist tried it...while drunk :(
Babbler, I am sorry I haven't done this yet ((((babbler)))) :D
Toes, not sure that applies to Madonna's kids? She's coming across as a fairly strict mother.
Toes, that's exactly how I feel! I'm sitting here working my way through a huge wad of kleenex :(
Miya, that's a big load of twaddle.
(((( Toes!! )))) :D
Babbler - True but she makes me think of that "mommy dearest" movie.... *shivers* She looks like a good mom though
Miya...that IS sad :( I feel sorry for the parents who have had to deal with the death of their children for such a frivilous thing...(not meaning the death of the guitarist was frivilous but what a thing to kill yourself over!)
What, about the something around neck relaxing you...thing? Lots of fans think it was a murder, though. Hide had no reason to kill himself
do you know, I've never seen 'Mommy Dearest'! I must borrow it and have a look one day.
It's like former Playboy playmates... Grandma? What did you do when you were younger? Well, dear, I posed nude in unatural positions for the men of the world to ogle!
*comforts M_Fan with a big hug* Oh honey it's alright! You can do so so much just by telling others. It's amazing what a few words can do to help!
lol Jen!!! (I know I shouldn't laugh..... but that's funny!)
Jen...lol I've actually thought about how they would word that to their grandchildren!
I agree, Missy...he has such a sad story, though. As a baby, he was actually abandoned...at school he was bullied because of it. I think that's why, years later, there's still a museum established by the government of Japan as a tribute to him...it's like he always battled against the odds
So, what would the Waltons think about Aneglina and Madonna?
Yeah, but that doesn't have any bearing on whether you are a good mom or not. I think we all did some wild things when we were younger that we would rather our kids never heard about : )
Awww, thanks Toes :) *biiiig hugs* If my tears start soaking through your clothes, just give me a poke and I'll stop :)
They would have better things to think about!
Miya, what's this guy's name?
Faye Dunaway practically ruined her career playing Crawford in that movie. Other actors became incensed with her portrayal of the Hollywood icon and she had trouble finding work
Missy..... aaaah, so that's what happened to Faye! I always wondered why she wasn't around so much.
harp good question. They would probably invite them both in for some apple pie and a hug
Babs, it's Hideto Matsumoto...he was always called Hide though. The band's name was X Japan, though he also had a successful solo career.
Babbler...their reaction to Ms Dunaway puzzles me because the movie was based on a book written by Crawford's daughter. The actress was only playing a part...very strange
Miya, in Wikipedia, it says they closed Hide's museum last Sept.....
Missy, I remember the controversy around the film. The papers were full of rows and disputes from various parties.
I think the real problem was the believeability of Christina Dunaway's account of her mother...most took her story of abuse with a grain of salt
yup, it went down in September. I know loads of fans signed a petition to stop it, but they closed it even so. Very sad
*points to icon* refresh, and that's Hide *sniffles*
Miya...it sure seems like he's had a tough life. I feel sorry for him having to go through the abandonment and now facing this injury.
Sorry getting busy with patients here I will be back in a bit :)
*nods* he was a DUDE though. He was expelled from school for rebellious behaviour when he got sick of the other kids for picking on him and lost his temper just a teeeny bit. But he had the last laugh, I guess :)
k Toe cya soon :) ACK Miya...I mean the other guy....not Hide...poor Hide is dead...I got it straight now
Miya - just reading the rest of the wikipedia site - I have heard of people using a towel to pull their heads to relieve pain in neck/shoulders. One of my friends used to do it,but she put the towel under the base of her head and got someone to pull, so there was no danger of asphyxiation. Weird Hide should try to do this will so drunk......
lol! Confusing, I know :) But at least the drummer is still alive. And famous enough to have met the pres of America. *smug* wow...now I'm actually being smug on someone elses behalf :D
Some people purposely choke themselves by hanging to enhance sexual pleasure...a few deaths have occurred from this practice
MIssy, I was thinking of Michael Hutchence too.
Well, he was a weird person Babs :) Worse still, after his death report came out, several fans were hospitalized for attempting suicide
o_O they what?!
in wikipedia, it says two fans actually succeeded in committing suicide, the others survived, thank goodness.
Can someone please help me out with the fa5/18 and fa6/30?? : )
fa 5/18 - a type of drama in which all kinds of silliness happens
*glides into log* Of course babe : ) fa5/6 - both do do with unintentional comedy, especially in a situation where it's out of place
*nods* brainy Babs! :) The saddest thing for me was watching the rest of the band play one of their old ballads, Forever Love, at Hide's funeral.
Miya, by choking during organsm it's supposed to increase the intensity Yes, Michael Hutchence is a good example, Babbs
lola, it's a false show, or a type of light play... then add a consonant
The fa 6 is one who perpetrates the fa 5
Aaargh! Thanks babe! (((x))) : )
((Anj!!)) how you doing, Our Kid? xx :D
Hey Anj! What a good time you chose to come in lol :) Missy...O.O
Thanks haz and jen too : )
Hi All : ) Not bad thanks. I'm being grazed upon in the foothills, there's a rave in one of my valleys, it's raining at one end and sunny at the other, but everything's aok : )
Miya...I know 0-o...there's some real nimrods out there doing weird things to themselves!
Hello Anj :)
lol! I could have lived a full and happy life without knowing that, I think :D
FMitch, are you here? Thanks for your mail. I have amended the list accordingly. All - mrpresident requested the theme for 26th be Australia Day. I've moved Marbles to a later date. :D
The only reason I know about it is because I've read the police reports of the people found dead that way...very sad...pathetic, even...
Ja...strange, sad and, um, quite twisted
Missy, for a while that was our MPs' favourite way of getting out of office...
Bab Jacula gave us a nice list for January's themes...I've just changed the 26th to show Australia Day Anj!!! For real?
Er...to6/18? Please?? : )
hi people guess who i am!
Good night Jon Boy
good night mary ellen nice grid today
Hi stef : )
what's todays theme?
Missy, over a period of years we had a few scandals. One guy was found with a plastic bag over his head, an orange in his mouth, and a cord about his tackle : / It's never intentional, just sad really...
to6 - type of matador
lola to6/18 the third to4/4 + what you do to push a boat along like the song, ***, ***, *** your boat, gently down the stream...just drop the last consonant
tackle?
Thanks haz and missy : )
Anj, so sad to think that a small thrill is worth someone's life. :(
Greetings and salivatin's, all! I have 5 left & I need serious help with them all... here's my shopping list!! cr 5/ 18 (second one) cr 5/ 12 ey 4/ 6 (not sure if it's the first or second... I have the one one vowel off seeing organs) to 4/ 4 (again, not sure if first or second... I have the foot digit + 1st vowel) ty 4/ 6 (I have the alt. sp. of car wheel & alt. sp. of beginner)
lola YW :)
Stef!! that's the icon I was looking for!! :D Pls could someone tell Jacula I've added her idea for 70s Glam Rock in my handbag? :D
Second cr 5/18 is a Scottish farmhouse
Miya, the other bit the blokes are meant to think with... : /
*thinks* *falls off chair* whaaaat?!
cr 5/12 - add iron ***
exactly... we will leave that to high office and other unfortunates... : /
Anj, was that the same guy who was also wearing ladies lingerie?
ty4/6 - switch round two letters in the car one
tyvm, Haz... 3 left!!
X_X
ey 4/ 6's ey + ending sounds like the word "jazz" but with a vowel and a consanant that ssssounds like a "z" at times second ey sounds like when you get your anger up, your ire...spelled differently
ey - add vowel and pluralise
Babbler, might have been. My memory is struggling, although I do remember some rather tasteless jokes that came out about it at the time...
Ugh... I need the fish for some of these... I'll have to turn in my kilt for not seeing the cr5...
I found it all distasteful, Anj. I saw the main headlines and stuff, but I didn't delve too deeply. All too disturbing!
I have the ey4 where you add the first vowel & pluralise... is there another, Haz?
Jera, which to 4 do you need?
There's ey as in Jane Ey**
de8/45 anyone??
sounds like "ire"
Got it, finally... was chasing my tail in that corner...
One who de5/12s
babe, someone who de5/12's...but double the last consonant first : )
Whoo-hoo... now I just need the to4... I've had the worst trouble with 4 letter words in this puzzle!!
Ta Haz, got that after I asked...as usual lol! Weird how I never noodle the obvious stuff... : /
Anj de8/45 Someone who commits the act of de5/12 above...use the double consonant you can see in the grid to start off the prefix
Anj, Lola, have you two got your own valley theme going on? ; )
i need some hints!
Thank you all : ) You're the S.A.L.T. of the earth lol : D
Sorry babs, been too lazy to change my icon since scenery day : /
Jera to4 which one...there's a mess of them..
Excuse me, i'm the Blue Ridge Mountains! : )
Fingers what do you need?
Oh I give up!! Please help with the oc5 and oc6??
oops, soz, Anj! yes, of course.... eek. *babs picks up a shovel....* digging, digging... : /
just some good ones that a kid can get
any help on co5/22?
woo, I'm off...must go have a slushy gushy msn convo with the boyfriend *cheesy grin* later :)
lol Babs
I know, I'm trying to figure out a better way to ask than I already have...
Miya see ya! Have a good time! :)
laters, Miya! :Dxxx
oc5 - add first three letters of what you do to a book oc6 - give it a latin plural ending
I THINK it's the second one... between the money & the bracelet...
'bye miyavi : )
Done! :) Anyone need anything?
*soppy grin* I will...:D
lol Babs - later Miy : ) Lo, think of a word for BIG sea, drop the N and put an R in the middle. Then give it a latin plural : )
congrats, Jen!! : D
Haz, you are a saint! Thank you : )
Yay Jen : )
co5/22 - past tense of the 4/9 above it
{{{Jen}}} I didn't see you there, hon!
You're welcome. Lola!
Jen Fingers would just like a few random clues here and there he can understand. You're 19, right Fingers?
{{{Jera}}}! I've been lurking, throwing in my 2 cents worth every once in a while! :)
Three damn words left and I have to leave! Be back later : )
I just need either the first or second to4/4... I have the money one...
well, I'm off to watch my bids on eBay.... see you all later, good luck with the grid! :D xxx
laters Lo, Babs : )
Good luck, Babbler... unless you're bidding against me!!
Jera, do you have the Jewish religious book (w/o the last consonant)
Do you have the to4/4 one that has to do with building up pressure in a tool by twisting it....you build up it's to***...this word ends with a "c" instead of the usual "que"
Bye Babbler...cya and good luck! :)
THAT'S IT!!!!! *happy dance of done-ness*
Woo hoo Jera!
Congratulations, Jera!
Alright Jera! *is entertained by her happy dance of doneness*
jera were you able to get the quicknote extension for firefox?
Good clue, Jen... I had been trying to spell that, but could not see where it was in the puzzle... I should learn to just input the silly words I have a feeling are there.... the worst that will happen is an OOPS! Sheesh. tyvm, Jen & all others who brave the daunting task of helping me...
aw shucks Jera! <<shuffles feet>>
No, Angel, might have hubby work on that this afternoon, if I can't think of better things for him to do...
Off to perform the doggy walk of soddenness. (It's been raining today) I'll be back later to finish.
Fingers...here's a clue for you wa8/80 just like the online game World of Wa******
See ya later, Haz...
Haz We will do the Sitting Pose of Waitingness while you're gone. Have fun :)
MissyMe... just read your to clue for me... yes, I had that one, but that's what i was calling the bracelet... some of my Celtic cylindars were firing today...
Jera...that particular definition didn't even cross my mind when I found that word...thanx for refreshing me :)
brb... gotta check on my auctions... Babbler might have outbid me...
Fingers, here's another one... co4/9, the thing stuffed in a wine bottle. Then you can get 2 co6's by adding a suffix for a person who does that, and also past tense.
or6/24 anyone?? : )
Anj, add a vowel to the or5 before it; if you don't have that one either, the def. is:A sheath formed at the node of a stem by the fusion of two stipules, as in the rhubarb plant
Fingers here's another clue: co8/45 what the center of the earth is called, it's co**, (drop the "e" at the end of the word), + "o" + the first ta4/4
I'm losing it fast with this grid. Did okay at first, but now......
Oops! Anj, sorry 'bout that, I was doing oc, not or! or6 is: A mechanical model of the solar system.
Angel just monkey type "er" prefixes often and you'll get a good many of them
I mean suffixes...not prefixes...duh
Afternoon, how is everyone?
Jen, I've been trying to enter that word for ages lol! Pass me the fish... : /
angelsong, i completely agree with you! i felt like a babble stud-ette at first today, now I'm a babble wimp
Angelsong your posting is very well timed - I have that feeling too!!! Any clues for the 2nd re8/50 please
Hello bunny I'm fine here and you?

Anj!!! Yay!!! ~%~%~%~%~Fireworks~% ~%~%~%~

Well done cybernan.Did you say yesterday you had snow?
Cybernan!!! Woot Woot *toots a happy horn* ~%~%~%~%~Fireworks~%~ %~%~%~
No -- yesterday it was so warm I was out in a light jacket, cleaning up the yard. This morning we woke up to snow! I guess the unseasonably spring-like weather couldn't last, but I was hoping!!
OHJ This has been a strange puzzle, for sure. :)
co 8 anyone?
Congrats, Anj!
If you take that oy6/24 and build on it you will find an oy8/50 - the last word I found tonight and am now done till the next grid!
I woke up to snow on the ground here. First snow of the season...it's been so warm!
Co 8: make a tape with another person(s)
Where is here, Missy?
We had some snow the other night, but the ground was way too wet & warm for anything to stick... Farmer's Almanac predicts big doin's last week of January
walnut co 8 word for the center of the earth, the co**, (drop the vowel at end of word), + "o" + ta4/4
cyber Northern Cali, near Auburn in the foothills

Aawe thanks Missy and c-nan
Walnut...this is a beautiful area here. I love it! And you're right!
k Anj...cya soon :)
You must be at a fairly high elevation to get snow that far south!
Hey Anj , didnt see you there. Am gong too as it is defiatnely food time TTFN all.
Got to leave for a min. -- av program just updated, and wants to reboot.
hehee. I interviewed with a company up in Roseville a long time back, thought about moving out there... but plans fell through, and I ended up staying in the bay area.
cyber elevation in Foresthill is around 2 thou ft. It doesn't snow has heavily here but by the middle of January we have usually gotten at least 4 good snow storms...this warm weather is so odd
walnut I grew up in the Bay Area...know it well. Whereabouts?
Fmitch Bye bye...cya later :)
Missy: I'm in San Ramon/Danville area... where all the yuppies are...
k cyber :) walnut lol! We have people that commute all the way to the Bay Area from here...as far as I'm concerned that's totally nuts!
I spent most of my childhood in Redwood City, went to Sequoia High School
Missy: r u serious!?!?!?!? no way. talk about spending your life commuting: 2 hrs + each way?
Missy -- we're at 1100 ft. -- don't usually have more than an inch or two of snow (just a skiff this morning), due to the influence of a very large lake.
Walnut it's more like 4 hours each way...nasty!
Anyone want a clue before I leave?
Cyber our heating unit has been out for about 2 weeks. Of course, we have a wood-burning stove to keep us warm but even with that going it's very cold right now...My tootsies are cold.

Doh! Should have read the chat. Thanks! Missing one word and don't know what, so am having to count the lot. Arrgh!

re 6/18: add 'more' suffix to re 4/4

Hydra -- that's where going pro helps -- one look at your stats board and you know exactly which letter you are missing.
walnut re6/18 even more behind than the word, re4/4 above it fr 5/16 (first one) fr + last three letters in second fe4/7
st 8: past tencse of st 6/18

ar 6/18 - to be behind in payment
ar 6/18: if you are behind in paying your bills you are in ar___ (do not pluralize)

I'm glad you found the word!

I didn't realize people really read those profiles, guess I should do some editing....
Haz...any other clues? that one made me draw a blank
Ok - take the last two letters from the orange vegetable
Evening bunny +all! Just read your log after doing the same thing (changing profile) Great minds think alike!
ca 4/5, another vord for vehicle with double consonant at end
hello cait! how's it going today? prepare for some interesting words....
What is a Walton by the way, been meaning to ask.
Finished!! Had a day without granchildren. Not much good at giving clues but i will try.
'The Waltons' was a TV series of 1970's featuring an extended family who lived in 1930's - 40's Virginia.
Hmmm, odd theme.
I was addicted to the Waltons.........sad or what!
I don't guess I really know who they are...still.
It was a really enjoyable programme - others may mock but I loved it as well.
But, I was born in 78'.
It always showed good family values could do with showing it again
Yes, but I thought you might have seen re-runs.
I'm not real big on TV shows, we buy new movies, but I mostly read and babble....
Oh, and spend time with the kids!
In fact, the twins are painting my toenails a multitude of colors as we speak.
Sounds like fun........... How old are they?
3 1/2
You have got your hands full. They are busy but fun at that age.
They look just alike, but there is the good twin/bad twin (would never tell them) thing going on. We nicknamed Twy Chopper because she sheared off all of her hair. This morning, she dumped all the shampoo in the toilet and flushed...BUBBLES!
bunny - you have twins? 3 of my sisters each have a 'set'!!
Please help: CA6/21 CA7/40
bugs bunny likes ca6/21
My first two children were barely 11 mos. apart, so I was prepared. But if all my girls pop out multiples, I'm of to Spain! How'd you manage to get off the hook?
bunny - I don't have children yet..trying but so far, no luck!
angel........ca6.a veg ca7 someone with red hair might be called this
Guess you should start buying two of everything!

Tell ya what, give me your adress and I'll ship ya a few of mine for a wekk or so. I'll even pay postage there and back! They'll break ya in....
wa - naval ship - not a time of piece + arts and *****s
My husband just got a new, VERY nice job, and I've been working two jobs ninety to nothing for years, so I quit. I'm staying home for a few months til I go back to school full time. I love my children, and I love being home, but I'm really, REALLY, missing work!
oh my. 49 words to go.
bunny - cherish the time before you go back to school...pretty soon you'll miss being home with the kids! I've got a bit a practice w/ kids...started babysitting when I was 11...worked as preschool teacher & I have 11 (almost 12) nieces/nephews!!
omg, duh! ty bunny.... i am addicted to a game called world of wa8
I know, but the grass is always greener on the other side. Sounds like you come from a real big family!
bunny: I reared both of my children as a single parent when I was in college. It's a miracle we made it.
bunny - 4 sisters...how 'bout you??
Two little brothers, but I really only see one. Robert is mildly autistic and it served him in a bad way, he just can't straighten himself out. My other brother loves my children, he's a good kid. Alot younger than me. Of course, it'll always be that way!
That's amazing Angle, good for you!
bunny - when I was little, I always wanted an older brother...it took a little while until I knew why I couldn't have one!! : )
bunny: I had everybody in therapy. I was born with a dual disability, just to add to the mix.
I had a grant for college, but I tried going right after I had the twin (day after). It was just too much, and my new job kept hoisting more and more hours on me. I missed too much, failed, lost my grant. After I repay it, I can go back full time, til then, I'm taking one class at a time.
East, for what it's worth, I always dressed my brothers up like girls so.....think they still resent me for that.
I have 3 brothers plus 1 sister. But my 2nd brother decided he didnt want to know us anymore, last we heard he was living in Greece. Breaks my mums heart.
Could I have a clue for the ER words?
bunny - wow! newborn twins, working and school...I think superwoman would have cracked!! : ) Angel - just read your bio...sounds like everything worked out for you - your perseverence triumphed when things may not have been very easy for you!!
harp er...rust......er mistake
er 5/12 caused by weather, wear away er 5/10 mistake
Thanks!
bunny - good thing your brother likes your kids...it may be payback time!! : )
caitlyn - that must be soo hard...as much as my sisters & I might disagree (altho' - we're so much alike we don't often now!!!) I couldn't imagine never talking to or seeing them again!
Cait, I'm sorry. As much as my family can aggravate me, I couldn't live without them.
Thanks Eastern....no rows with him just born with a chip..... The rest of us get on really well .At this point i will say good night John boy Good night Mary Ellen and so on..........x
Have to feed the girls. See you guys later!

hi smaller :) ...Walton's Mountain... hi Boreetos :) ...hmmm, not with the theme, I see...
yeah, I know, I'm lazy. This was for Friday's. what is today's theme?
ruthy, do you have the more of re4/4 as in Jennifer Lopez is re6/18 than most people
F's Finito. whew!
let's see, I'm Grandma, EB is the little annoying one (what's her name...?), smaller is the mountain...
Ruthy, try more of re 4
sherb, well it's not THAT Walton's mountain. it's Isaac Walton Inn in Montana. Didn't much care for the Waltons (the show) so this photo of the inn was as close as i was willing to come
i havent got the re 4s
I have tried everything I can think of. Any hints on ro 4/4 or ro 5/10?
back to work.. see ya soon.
ruthy, the re4/4 in question is not to the front but to the re** or J Lo has a big re**
Ruthy, another name for hiney, and then add a suffix.
ok, smaller, that's cool... *marks little black book...*
ja....TA dah! then plural.

ruthy, did any of our clues actually help or are you just being nice?
I was wondering the same thing Ruthy!
no smaller they did help honestly
*sniff*sniff* ...but I agreed with you on oaty...I just wasn't willing to blaspheme Dr_God... Sherb - this is the only pix that would work...I tried to upload one of the whole family...I don't even know her name...I didn't really watch the Waltons!!
b/c I've got an unfathomable well of crappy clues to offer
It's Elizabeth Walton.
Hey guys, I haven't been on for about 1 month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!11

Good afternoon, all...how goes it?
Hi Jera!
hi Jera :)
I was eavesdropping a bit... the Waltons didn't really speak to me today either... so I'm back to one of my originals...
hi Jera. I'm donwn to only 24 words
Go, Angelsong! Need any help or are you good?
this is really interesting... I loved the Walton's, even though they were so cheesy... maybe it was just the big family...
checking the dreaded re's now. it's been like pulling teeth to do the last part of this grid.
Hello everyone just popping in for a moment to see who all is here today.
hi faeriekae...
hi faerie :)
Sherb - I was pretty young when it was on originally...I watched occassionally...but I was more inclined to watch "Little House..."
re6/18 is the only re I need
Hi Eastern, Hi Sherb - I'm still out pounding the streets looking for a job. I had someone tell me Saturday that I was sitting on a gold mine and to use it.....Took me a minute to figure that one out!!!!! I just said NO
Hi Faerieiisieiaakeaeea, you've been in a lot of grid's lately!
EB - may be it's a generational thing... I was a little older by the time Little House came along... couldn't stand it...
Smaller *does a running tackle, with great big hug *
lol faerie... maybe they meant you could rival J-Lo...
Sherb - you got it...LOL
**struggles for balance*** BACK AT YA!!!
Sherb - J-Lo has a MUCH larger re4/4 than me....I'm just a little thing....LOL
I have missed you guys sooooooo much. I hate job hunting.
re6/18? Please...it's the last re I need
Angelsong - to turn around?
faerie - Hang in there w/ the job hunting...my hubby was out of work & just started back...when you least expect it, something you really want will turn up! He also did a lot of networking - joining networking groups, etc. - that's how he found his job!
Angel - Sorry not paying attention. You ask for the re not the ro. I don't have the re
all finished ill say bye and thanks for all your help

Evening, all. The two Re8's have me stumped. I'm sure they're staring me right in the face. Could I have some clues, just the same?
sorry Judi, haven't gotten there yet.
re 8's: 1. put the stopper in the wine bottle again 2. tape a program again
Thanks, Cybernan. Like I said, staring me in the face.
As long as I'm on a roll, how about clues for the DE8-45 and the Fe8-60?
Oops. Just got the Fe8.
de 8/45: one who de 5/12's fe 8/60: past tense of fe 6/27 (animal useful for hunting rats)
Hmm. The only De5-12 I have is the one that means to "prevent". So, Cybernan, that clue doesn't work for me.
Judi, build on that one
hi all! :) I just had an idea for a theme - The Tarot. Would that be ok, or is it too scary?
That's right -- add the suffix that makes it mean one who prevents (don't forget to double the final consonant!)
Oh, duh. The 2nd R threw me. Got it now.
Don't know anything about it, Babbler. I think the themes are beginning to be a bit much -- the icons wind up looking so much alike when the theme too specific making it more difficult to pick out the person you are looking for in the log (including myself!). Maybe we should just save the theme idea for special occasions.
Thank you cybernan, I just get used to an icon and they all change again. Some are too fussy, I like tbear's and Octarine's at the moment
That lady's not on the Waltons. She's on Star Trek.
evening all
hi knitter :D
hi sb, beginning to think that i was all alone
Hello. 56 to go here!
i just started -- 142 to go here

hello babblers......70 more to go......
oc 6? or 6?
I too am bewildered by the OC words, 5 and 6.
mab, I got the oc5 by accident. It sounds like a gumbo vegetable.
octarine -- ca 6/30 please
ak--oc 6/30, what you might put wine into.
I have spelled that gumbo-like veggie this way and that and I am from the south. still bewildered.
harpjane, haven't gotten to the oc's yet, i was looking for the ca 6/30
Yeah, the ca6/30is what you put wine into. Who knows what the oc is?
ty sushi
for the gumbo veggie spell it with the wrong consonant and stuff an extra vowel before the last vowel.
Hey I think I got that oc5/12 gumbo-veggie-like-soundning-wo rd-that-isn't. Once again, who cares what it means or how it tastes....
I'm screwed up. Can't even give good clues tonight. I'm certainly glad you're there to correct me! Sorry.
Got the oc5. Thanks harpjane and brandyjack. Now, oc6.
sushi doesn't want to make you feel bad harpjane. there...there... all is forgiven.
ro 7/36?
Uncledaddy!
Ok. for the oc6 put an e on the end of the five. As if it needed another vowel.
Harp put the ro6 in the ro7 cow, perhaps pig
I just had to look uup that oc7 with too many vowels. I'll definitely be able to incorporate that word into my daily vocabulary.
Anyone have a clue for the st8 and wa8
I take it you not a horticulturalist. Or a florist....
hey I see you are a fellow canuck brandyjack. However i'm living in the deep south. land of no snow.
momma mary, are you sure that's a clue for the ro7/36? It sounds like a clue for the ro 7/28.
Yes, well, I often find myself at a loss for words when the conversation turns to rhubarb, but no more. Thank you babble.
harp 7 builds of 6 lower left corner
Harpjane you have not lost it! excellent eyes. and you are correct.
Visited Texas a few times. Thundestorms down there are like nothing I've seen up here. As for the no snow, I'll take it over tornado's and poisonous reptiles any day......
sorry, was afk oc5 and 6 add the opposite of fake minus the last letter and add a vowel ca6/30 you put wine into this to set on the table ro 7/36 oy 6/24 with the extra letter at the front st8 adds onto st6/18 a past tense wa8 think online game world of wa******
ro7's are the same except for the third letter
don't forget cockroaches. we name our roaches,,,they are part of the family. I'm more east of texas in the no-flood zone.
Finally! got the R's! I have 19 to go. Taking a break. Thank you all.
And here I thought the roaches were the reason the Texans carry guns..........
Texans don't need a reason to carry a gun. Hey, mab, my point exactly. when I am involved in a rousing dialogue on the intricate inner workings of rhubar, hey, I'll be ready with the words.
And if someone disagreess with you and you happen to be in Texas you can shoot them.
I love it, mab! LOL
did everyone already get the oy6/24?? = little sea fellow that makes pearls
need clues for the co 5/16 and the co 8/45.........please :D

Yes Mama she does and I have tried to reach her several times thry her email she gave me but without any luck so far ...
does any one have the fe 6/27 ... I have the rodent fe6
fe 6 is someone who fe 4/7's
fe 6/27, someone who is afraid
Hi harpjane have tried to reach you so many times thru the mail option you gave me but without luck ... any other options? Do you know someone who wants to buy my Lion & Healy double action by chance?
Hello to all! Hi Mama!! (*Hug*) so can I get some help with the oc's? Please?
HI GW!! *hugs back* oc - like the veggie with an extra vowel thrown in for good measure
ty harp.....never would of seen that one.
oh and the oc 6- throw that same vowel again on the end... it's a very vowel heavy word
Hi, everyone! I know most of you here, wow!
oc 5/12 and 6/21 ( latin plural): when you make something you cr**** it. Drop the last two letters and add the remainder to the o.
evenin' JBs!!!!!!
Hi Grey ( furrrrr hugs!!!) how are you ?
Thanks -- down to F's & C's now! (*C-nan*)
Mama! Woulfie! BJack! Sushi (hee, hee, see what I started!) ren! mab! Lucky! Hey, where're the keys to the 'cuzzi, Woulf? It's freezing here, and we all could use some bubbling warmness...
ar 5/12? I have the old world palm. I need the first one. Thanks
Sorry, cybernan, didn't mean to leave you out.
Hi, harp!
Hi JB!! Lucky -- doing as well as a man about to have another child in 2 1/2 weeks can be :D
started at the bottom, huh GW??????
ar 5/12: over-eagerness (not sure about that word? -- been babbling too long!)
I'm not playing the grid tonight, as I really do need sleep more than words. Oh, but great clues, Sushi!
Sorta, Mama ;) ar5/12 -- passion
Life will no longer be as you know it, GW!
Lucky, try me at harpjane (AT) juno.com The other address must be screening you out for some reason. I don't know anyone off hand who wants to buy a pedal harp, but you never know!
Grey I'm counting down with you ... that is the best news ever!
Thanks Lucky! :)
Lucky -- is there a hotel in Amsterdam that you can recommend? -- one near the art galleries and museums?
Harpjane I'll try and let you know what happens oke? Please spread the word about my harp I'll give you more details later in the email.
Thank you for the passion clue GW!
Good to see you guys on the log tonight. I'm just popping in for a hello and goodnight because I couldn't resist seeing how you all are doing. Stay warm, and may all your words be found. Goodnight!
Cybernan there are so many hotels near the big museums depends on your budget but I always like the marriot (midrange)I check into it for you tomrrow and let you know
Good night, JB
G'Nite JB -- sleep well! (*Hug*)
Thanks, lucky -- been searching on line, but it's hard to tell. We like reaonably priced -- even quaint, as long as the rooms are en suite!
JBs - hold on a minute - I am going to change my icon in honor of GW's awaited arrival!!!!
Is Kirsten in labour?
Please REFRESH.... and join me in a "baby shower" for GW!!!!!
OK, MamaB (yawn) sorry, couldn't hold that one back...<sleepy grin>
Not that I know of, c-nan ;)
Guys I'm not finishing tonight ... love to chat but it's 4:30 now good gracious need some sleep! Hugs for now see you all tomorrow bye ;)
good nite Lucky! sleep quick!
(((**LUCKY**))) It was good seeing you! Sleep Well!
did anyone REFRESH?
I'm stuck on one of the tr 4/6 words. I have the one that means "a domino with three pips." What's the other?
Nite all back soon. Remember the bedbugs... they bite
Mama, Lucky, c-nan, and everyone else to numerous to list by name --- Thank you so very much for sharing my excitement --- It means more to me than any of you will ever know :) Excuse me... I seem to have something in my eye.... *wipes away tears of emotion from corners of eyes*
MamaB, what'd you do, reach into the future for a picture of GW & the new baby? Man, what they can do with camera phones now, huh?
OK.... I guess nobody liked my baby shower...... or can't you tell what it is? It's a man in the shower holding a baby.... OK... I guess my sense of humor is in a world all its own.....
harp -- take the plural r4/4 and put the t in front, that will give you a 5 that you can drop the s for to get the 4
MAMA -- No, don't take it like that... I love it --- Thank you very much -- it is a very cool image :)
need just 9 words to finish. need help with : ra5/10, re5/14 and ro7/36
Ha ha! MamaBear - I do appreciate your humor, yes, I do! I just can't see very well after googling "bad kitty" for the villain theme over the weekend...
I like it, mama! I'm just in my own little world right now!
I didn't mean to offend, GW...... just thought the play on words was a chuckle
GW, what they heck are you talking about? I'm still lost!
Hi peri -- ro7/36 -- r+ oy6 re5/14 -- to attempt again ra5/10 -- more collectible due to scarcity
ra 5/10 - more so of the 4/4
baby shower *refresh*
Sorry harp -- it was a bit of a stupidly phrased clue
GW, I didn't know wolves could cry. Howl, yes. Cry? Now I learned something new. Sweet!
Well, GW, seeing as how I don't have the darn word yet, I'll give you another chance..... hee hee hee
Very cute, c-nan :)
nan - that's absolutely perfect!!!!!!!! Brings a tear to MY eye!!!!!!
I'm going to head to bed, lovely people...... hope you all finish!!!!! Have a good night's rest and sweet dreams!!!!!! *hugs*
c-nan, that's cute!
tr 4/6: Helen of Tr**
I was cluing the wrong word anyway, Harp ;) ....OK -- tr4/6 --- not the 3 pip domino ---- recent movie starring Brad Pitt about Greek war
Misunderstood, mama -- thought you were suggesting that we all post baby pics in honour of the coming event.
Thank you cybernan, for putting me out of my misery! Seven words to go!
thanks, Mamabear and GW, Was on earlier and didn't get much help. Still need help with st6/18 and re6/18, or6/24. missing an F and some T's but need to recheck my list.
Good Night, MAMA -- Thanks for the pics and the (*HUGS*) Sleep Well, Dream Deep!!
JBsAnno walks out with MamaBear, discussing the finer points of icon messages - she's got such great ideas! Goodnight everybody!
'Night JB...Night Mama....
st 6/18: one who makes a speech? to say something (minus final vowel) + not either but **
Hi EB! (*hug*)
re 6/18: add 'more' suffix to re 4/4 (behind)
missing the first fo4/7 and two T's not sure which. Will check now. Thanks c-nan for the S Clue.
c-nan, thanks again
or 6/24: drop last letter from or 4/4, + 'more' suffix + sometimes letter
1st fo4/7 -- change vowel ending the 2nd fo4/7
fo 4/7: opp. of fauna, but drop the second letter
Why can't I see either of the fr5's?
fr5: french brother (Jaques?) fr 5 (last one): drop a consonant between the two vowels in fr 4/7 preceding it.
Woulfie - _____ Jacques, ______ Jacques. Dorme vous...
Thank you both! -- I keep forgetting that Enable is not the same as the Scrabble dictionary :)
Sonnez les matinas!
mising either the first or 2nd to4/4 and a ty5/14 (have the secret meeting place) last two words help please
Ding, Ding, Dong!
I meant tr5/14
to 4/4: foot digit + vowel to 4/4: Jewish book of laws (minus the h)
tr 5/14: which one?
the tr5/14's that are not the secret meeting are both plurals of the 4's before them
Thank you both GreyWoulf and cybernan, Found my last two. I am finally done.
Great job, peri!! On my last 5 here -- all C's :)
Can I help you with anything GW.
Not quite yet, thanks --- I have to figure out which I need first ;)
Okay, but I am not going to be on much longer.
Need to get some sleep. See you all tomorrow.
Good night peri :)
It is VERY difficult to focus on the grid when Kirsten has 'Inside the Actors Studio' on with Robin Williams as the guest of honor :D
night Peri.... 15 to go for me...then I'm off to bed....darn that work tomorrow!! 8 D
peri -- have a great night! Sweet Dreams! (*Hug*)
Need any clues, Eastern? -- I'm leaving soon also.
Don't think so...course I haven't hit the 'wall' yet!! BJ's list is a lifesaver at this point!!
And I'm still here, c-nan -- so it should be safe (unless EB needs the 4 c's I haven't found yet) ;)
I'll stick around for a bit -- playing another game on the side.
Woulfie - I'm almost finished with the c's... thanks c-nan!! so far so good.... : )
does the co8 build off the 4/9 like the 6's do?
woulfie - no.... 20 mins. of monkey typing for me!!
Thanks -- at least now I won't waste time on that path :)
no it doesn't... co 8: co + spin around (as a turntable)
co8 - To rotate in conjunction with another body this is the best i can do. GW
Thanks c-nan :) one to go!
but here's a clue for you... when a king or queen is crowned, they go through the 'Co_______tion..... if they are that person, they would be the co_________ then drop the "N" and replace with a T convoluted, but maybe it'll help!!
OR.... look at the better clues below... at this hour - I don't think as well...I was doing the phonetics on it differently!!
Hi marigold! --- how are you tonight? EB -- LOL :)
Hi GW - i am doing very well. How about you?
Pretty good, marigold -- Mama and baby-to-be are fine, Daughter is adorable, I have my health --- what more do I really need? ;D Oh, and I am finished with the grid!
Din, Din, Dong!, GW
GW I am glad that everyone is doing great. I am finished as well.
c-nan -- what is the other game you are playing?
A mindless game of cubis!
I don't think I've played that one yet
So --EB -- how are you doing? Looks like you are the only one left to finish --- no pressure ;)
Bye for now, see you at the flip :)
EB isn't the only one left to finish, I'm still working on it.
So long, c-nan -- see you then (*hug*)
I had to watch the news for a bit...some info I wanted to catch....5 ar's to go!
marigold -- did your son appreciate the info I gave you?
I'm not done. I can't stay awake long enough to get very far! It's so frustrating.
Hi mab -- why so tired, if I may ask? (*hug*)
phew! pressure's off...others have more to find too!! 00 \_/
glad to help you out EB
thanks doxy & mab!! : )
Hi doxy! How're the granddaughter and mamma?
doing just fine. I think they are planning to spend the day with me tomorrow. So I get to play with baby all day. Woo hoo!!!
Sounds like a great day, doxy :)
I'm not well. Moreover, it's so cold in my apartment that even though I'm wearing four tops and a fleece jacket (with hood), a scarf, two pairs of leggings and five pairs of socks, I'm still cold and want to be under the covers. Oh woe.
a lot better than today. Was real busy at work.
so sorry to hear that mab. Drink something hot, that might help a little.
ooo, I'm going to do that right now.
mab - a hot toddy & a warm *HUG* for you!!
woo hoo!! done!!
yay EB
A (*BIG WOLF HUG*) for you, mab -- Very sorry to hear that you are unwell :( Yay for EB!!!
All finished.
Y ay for doxy!!!! Wow it sure is quiet all of a sudden...
If anyone is still out there, may I have clue for RE 8/50? Hello? hello hello hello.......
re + re624
re8/50 -- re+ re6/24
Thanks, pres.
Hi mrp -- how's your side of the world today?
Hi mab, hi grey!! Pretty wet and wild weather we are having.... how is everything on your side!?
C C C COLD!!!
WAY too cold for mab -- uncomfortably chilly for me, mrp
I have to say the chill factor is zero here! ie, doesn't exist!! At work... toilets are broke and we have an ant farm growing out the back room! Hate it when that happens!!
mab -- when I read our post re: what you are wearing Kirsten suggested that you consider electric socks if it is at all feasible for you -- multiple layers of socks can actually restrict the blood flow which will contribute to feeling cold
...or.... get the cat to sit on your feet
Thought I could stay up for the flip...eyes keep drooping in sleepiness....will catch you all tomorrow(hopefully!)!! Swee t dreams...stay warm... Nightie Nite all!!
yeah, have to go home for the flip... this computer sux! nite eastern!
You guys are sweet, GW. That's a good idea. None of my socks are tight, however. They are mostly huge man socks - if I pulled them up tight the heels would almost make it to my knees. My feet look like fluffy shoe boxes.
EB -- been there, sold the rights, got shafted on the royalties :D --- have a good night's sleep and see you tomorrow! (*Hug*)
Night Eastern! Bye mrpres!
mab - sheepskin slippers...definitely warm & cozy!!
last word, or 6? anyone?
mab -- We are glad to hear that you are not being restricted, though we both agree that you would probably find walking around easier in the electric ones :)
or6 - "A mechanical model of the solar system."
Done! Thank you all!
Wow, that's some word. Glad I googled. Thank you so much for the excellent suggestion. I'll have to take it under financial advisement however (cat tx, car falling apart, blah, blah).
Yay for harp!!! mab -- that is why I phrased it as 'if feasible' --- I understand completely about having to be frugal
mab -- need any clues?
GW: I'm sure with the baby on the way you know about the scrimp factor. Thanks for the clues too. Think I'll just stop there and do something else for a little while.
Sounds fair, mab -- will look for you at the flip -- since it is so quiet I will go take care of my normal night time rituals -- (*Hug*)
Hiya, anyone still here to give a clue to the clueless? to 6/18 ro 7/36
to6 - to + r + 2nd vowel, + r then 4th vowel
re7/36 r + oy6
hi chic -- I'm here :) to6 -- combine the to4 immediately before it with the last 2 latters of the 4 immediately after it
ro7/36 I mean r + oy6
mrp -- when are you traveling home? or have you already?
hi grey, been home for 10 minutes now!
mrp -- I wish I lived that close to my job :)
My husband travels an hour to work... I bought my business next to home so I could be close to the kids they needed me
That's cool -- what kind of business?
New and Secondhand baby goods...
Did everyone finish?
Too bad we aren't neighbors ;D
you can google me for 'secondhand baby goods sydney' on www.google.com.au
all but mab, c-nan --- she's just too wiped out and too darn cold to finish :\
