Thank you, B-jack

o7/32
Beautiful bridge, MR P. Is it Sydney?
it's georgous Mr P!
harp... yes, new years eve *~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*
so is it on fire on purpose?
I watched the milennium celebrations for almost 24 hours straight, in 1999. The Sydney bridge was awesome! Also loved the olympics opening and closing ceremonies!
e8/50
dang I was JUST typing that debs!
all "g's" done
tr7/32
Sorry Griff.. Two cokes???...lol
Maybe a rum and coke. All the op's were fun, they went out like a buncha ninepins!
OK rum & coke it is....I'll have to finish this later... Got to get ready for work... Hope you all have a great day :)
have a good one Deb!
bye debs!
Cya Niam, Griff Take care x
se 7/28
t's are done!!
se 8/45
this is a lovely flowing grid! easier than most we have had lately... you are right!
re 9/72
I love this grid!
Me too. It's got the best REAL words in it!
I know what all these words mean without looking it up!!
o7/32x2
don't forget the 8 while you're there, hugs
Got that too Griff... thanks
re9/72 was so smooth!!
yes it was... this grid rocks!
I have the nine and almost all of the eights on my own wthout clues! This is unprecedented in my babble career. Also, I learned to open two windows at once. I'm so pround of myself! (got to be a catch somewhere) May I quote 'Liza Doolittle: 'I'm a good girl, Iyam!'
Yes you am!
p7/40
pr7/36
I'm with you Mab... I can't get over how much I love this grid... but I'm wondering when the other shoe will drop... *knocks on wood*
well, if it *does* drop, hopefully it won't *be* a wooden shoe (ow)
I have a few of those... yes ouch!
And I got them without the list too. This is a far kinder grid than we've have recently, so i don;t think there will be fallng shoes. The fours and fives can be pretty easily gotten. Oooo, we are so lucky.
Hi all, and for now bye all su later
well, just to be the exception that proves the rule, I did just find a STUPIDHEAD word... ho 6/27 (no, the other one)
stupidhead word... lol... I'm getting tired
hail and Hello just jumping in...how is the water.... full of stupid head words i hear...LOL
no, blaze - it's a WONDERFUL grid! Just about the best ever as far as I'm concerned. Full of real, wonderful words!
It's actually really nice Blaze... griffums just wanted to see me laugh myself silly
(full of real, wonderful words and one really STUPIDHEAD word)
Hi Blaze! Congratulations on your new job -- I'm happy for you!
thank you Mab... I am still excited.....
dumb ph words!!
I found one ph word... let me know if you find the 7/44
How many ph's mrpres? Haven't gotten the list yet.
got it! ph744
Yeah, that's a SUPER stupidhead word
2 x ph7
wow... I'm just silly stupid right now, when you say stupidhead I keep picturing my son at age 3 saying that (he was so cute)
ph for stupid head words....
A bit late, but still... good morning to you all! :)
hi sprite - it's a great grid!
well hello sprite, GW sends (*hugs*)
Hello Sprite it is looking very good ....
Hi Sprite!
Hi Griffs, Niamh... thanks for bringing Woulf's *hug*! *big hug back to Woulf*
Hiya Sprite
Mab, Blaze, hi... yeah, looks inviting! :D
ok... I'm giving in to my stupidhead sillyness and going to bed night all
Note to self: if 'scenery' doesn't take the first time, it won't take the second, third or whatever time either. Stop trying!
Hi Hugs! *hugs Hugs* Night, Niamh!
have sweet fairy dreams....
night-night-niamh!
Griffs, have you heard, seen or smelled the volcano where you are?
No, just on the news. Winds have not been bringing us the ash - what there is of it (not thick, it's been very dispersed) has been going about 200 mi to our south.
You live in an adventurous area, Griffs!
Yeah, I guess. Cool pictures at http://www.avo.alaska.edu/
thanks griff that is cool....
Well, glad you're safe, but it would be fascinating to be a bit closer.
It is so beautiful and impressive - but only from a distance, of course. Are you alright?
Oh yeah, there's no impact on us. The only possible impact on us would be ash and we'll just keep our fingers crossed about that. In a place that relies so heavily on air travel that's a real downer, literally.
On that web, if you click on the location map you'll see Anchorage about 180 mi or so northeast. Spurr is the one that has really dumped on us here - you can see it's very close to us. Augustine got us back in the mid-80's but it was like 1/4 inch.
Lol, I love the way you put that. My fingers are crossed too for you there... which is pure hell for my babbling, but okay. We have this saying in dutch: wouldn't you want to be a vulcano? All day long you can lie on your back in the sun, stare at the sky and smoke all you like, and everyone who passes says: "Look, it's working!"
(Each of those mountains is a volcano not just a mountain). And they are *very* pretty.
heeee heeee sprite!
p's are down... some interesting ones!!
Having a ball with the Gs. No inkling on the big Os though.
sprite - once you start singing with the Os, then they'll work for you :)
Oh wow, Chessy, now I see! Thanks!
cheesy great looking icon...
Is there a theme today?
thanks blaze, a photo I took of sea holly - one of my favourite plants :)
theme to day is fairy tales
Thanks Blaze. It's beautiful, Chessy!
Thank you Sprite :)
Guess I am sprite enough to fit into today's theme without needing an icon ;)
Fabulous photos at that site, Griffs.
Yeah, it's pretty cool-looking.
Theme for Jan. 11 is bridges. Promised myself I would quit 57 minutes ago! Leaving now -- want something left for tomorrow. 38 to go. :) Good night all -- I'm sure you will be finished by the time I get back tomorrow morning.
Bye nan! Must have missed the bridges day then. :)
Sorry -- that's how tired I am! January 18 is bridges.
Lol, thought as much. Sleep tight!
Weird -- the 19th is volcanoes!
Griffs is always a bit ahead of us :)
... and there's a volcano in the grid today!
One a bit closer to home for me!
Morning all..... :)
My current bridge is the one I see from my window -- switching now to what I think is one of the most beautiful in the world -- can you guess?
*refresh* -- hint: it's in Paris
Morning tbear!
Ah... beautiful, nan!
there's a very appropriate to4/5 word for me today
to?
ok ignore me....I even put it in and thought it was in....haven't really woken up yet....2nd cuppa tea needed.....obviously need a toad/frog prince to wait on me....BIG Lol
ROFLOL! You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you meet a prince, right?
Personally I think I've only ever found tadpoles........
I found my prince, but I sure had to find my way through an awful lot of nasty toads ;)
sprite good for you....personally I'm not holding my breath.....Cuppa tea, cuppa tea....good book and cats...and chocolate...
I have lived alone for quite a few years and liked being alone. Never thought I would give that up for a man... but well... you know... what can one do when that one single irresistable man shows up and doesn't give up? ;) Together for 12 years now and married for almost 10, still very happy and in love, so I guess it was the right thing to do, lol.
That is lovely, really great and I am very happy for you. Although I joke, I'm not a cynic, believe in love and partnerships, when they work.....just seem to have never lived with anyone. Always very content with my own company but who knows......
You never come across like a cynic, I think. I love the jokes :) Well, one thing is certain: living alone happily beats the hell out of living together unhappily. Nothing wrong with being on yourself, if you like your own company. I don't think living with a partner is needed to live a full life. It's just that I really love sharing my life with my love, and I realise I am a very lucky woman to have met a really good man.
Has he got a slightly older brother....and are they dutch.....says tbear grabbing her passport and heading for her ancestral roots....
LOL! If he had a brother, all my friends would be fighting over him. But still you are welcome :D
Got to go, my love wants my company ;)
Shucks......back to kissing frogs then!!!!
Bye sprite....good talking again....give him regards from Bristol.....
Awww what about poor JG!!!! Is he kicked into touch already??!!!!!! LOL
Lotti.....I can't help it if he doesn't know I'm alive....a girl can't live by one text alone.....Lol
Hahaha ((((TBear))))) Good morning :) Must do school run bbl :)
Hasta later...lovely mad Lotti
some down, some for later.....nice puzzle so far... bye
... sweet D's.... lovely grid!
only 14 left to find!
36 left for me...
.... FINISHED!! That was lovely....
WTG MRP! 17 still to go for me...
thanks Grif... a few of the p's were crappy, but very well done today!
Yes, it's been really fun!
And now I'm done too. Whew!
I'm off to bed. 'Night everyone.
nite grif!! *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~* ~*
any clues needed before I retire to watch the tennis!?
you done already mrpres? wow!
morning all
morning all : )
Morning Ladies, great grid today :)
any clues on the three words for the top row s?
HI Fmitch. I wasn't going to play (as it's over 150 words - my new year's resolution), but it looked too tasty! So I've broken my resolution now and dived in. :/
I wasn't going to play today ether I was going to do ironing but here I am again.
rosalind, welcome to the addicts :) Back for the 2nd half, after a wonderful massage from my love.
Top S: I have two, both got to do with catching animals.
Hope you enjoyed it sprite
sorry, I did reply Mia, but I was thrown out as the site went down. There is an s4/7 to do with predicting the future.
To the hilt, rosalind :)
Yeah Babbler, that was the third! Thanks!
hi Sprite : )
LOL I tired that too Babbler and it didn't work for me either but this is nice today, found 120 words before stopping and then found a load more. Mia - clues for 2 s's another word for trap and pl, the 3rd s has no vowels, use the number count. babble seems a bit unstable today!
my pleasure! look at me, giving a clue to the mighty Sprite! :) *chuffed to bits*
Tsssss :P I need clues all the time!
lol! nah, you're mighty! : )
Mighty sprighty? LOL!
lol! I like that! Mighty Spritey it is from now on! :D
Please not, it sounds terrible!
ok *throws it over the bridge*. now you're back to Sprite : )
Thanks! :D
pretty bridge icon up!
Ow, nice one Atalante!
hi Atalante : ) lovely!
any clues for the ar 6/ 30?
Do you have the Ar6/24?
yup
Last two letters: one changes place, the other must be replaced by another.
thanks sprite :) you're a star
Good morning, everyone. This is a MUCH nicer grid than yesterday's. Your ar6 clue was very helpful, Sprite.
Real stupidhead word, to quote Griffums. Def: a merchant ship, a fleet of ships or a rich source or supply. Sure. ;) Hi Haz! I must admit I loved yesterday's as well.
I monkeyed most of yesterday's. It was an exercise in logic for me! : )
I didn't have either time or inclination to finish yesterday's - today's words are much more visible and able to be added onto.
Yes, it was a challenge :) It's very true this one is less opaque, once you find a biggie, you find a lot of them.
op 7/ 36 op 7/ 32? I Have the ones that surgeons do.
Maybe it's me, but grid's like yesterday's remind me of sudoku.
I'm interested that the ta5/14 is defined as a light shield or buckler. In Ireland and Scotland the word is used to describe a cross, nagging woman!
op7/36 - same beginning, then add african currency
oh don't worry, found them :) yay!
LOL Babbler! The other big Ops: start the same. One ends in R4, 'to rave'. The other ending is alt. spelling for that.
Well! Now! Making us work for nothing! Ywis!
Sprite, has ywis become an expletive for you?? lol :)
:) Don't you admire my skill to bring it up in casual conversation?
lol Sprite! yes, I do!! :D:D:D
what was the other one? crwth? lol!
Can't come up with a way to do that with the crappy Ps though!
I prefer pfui!
Did I play that day?? looks familiar! lol argh, the site is really playing up today. :/
I had difficulty getting on at first and I'm now getting red messages about the chat log and not being able to update stats.
I keep getting thrown out. : (
Yes, I was kicked out a few times as well. Looks like the server isn't happy today. :(
Is it just a British thing or or the others having difficulty?
I haven't gooten kicked out yet but I keep getting the red messages and it is very slow to accept my word entries.
It's frustrating but I suppose there's nothing we can do about it.
Hello good people :) I'm done! *spins around like a little girl with joy* Weeeeee!!!
good morning (afternoon/evening) !
congrats, Missy!!! and hi again!
yah missy!
hi Dianne : ), hi Poo's Mom : )
Hey Babbler! :) I'm headed to bed now...finally. This puzzle was so much fun I couldn't leave it til it was finished
it is like butter on toast, isn't it? (though I am only at 89 words and have over 100 to find yet!) have a lovely sleep! and I hope no one comes knocking at your door like they did me just now. :/
Good night all...cya sometime tomorrow so I can bridge the icon gap :)
Babbler...after yesterday's puzzle there's jam for the toast too :)
really??? can't wait! :D
Really weird thing just happened - I have 10 words left to find but the stats don't show that I have entered any words - the list is there but no grey boxes!
try refresh, Dianne. The server is having problems today. You won't lose your words, don't worry.
Dianne: refresh might help. There are some server problems, it seems.
I did refresh - and it healed :)
Lol Babbler... in unison!
Great minds, Sprite!! (Missy and I were doing this all day yesterday. We were in sync!) : )
We have great rapport ;) Got to go, good hunting to you all and enjoy this very nice grid!
yes, we do! have a lovely day, Sprite, see you soon. : )
Hi all, can anyone help with a clue for the pr7/40 please?
Goodbye, Sprite. I'm heading off as well to do the ironing. 89 words left to find later.
Morning all
I was just thinking about you! Hi Yoink! ((xx))
morning yoink! toodles sprite and haz!
see you later, Haz : )
Fmitch, hi! Try an early melody.
thanks sprite, will think on that one!
Or something before the melody :) Got to run now, bye! Hi and bye Yoink!
fab clue, Sprite!! ty : )
Sent you a message on Last earlier Babs, about Martha Wainwright, I can't remember whether I had mentioned her before to you
FMitch - think of before kindergarden plus a melody.
Bye Sprite!
Well, who would have thought that was a word!
I adore Martha Wainwright, Yoink, and I've just ordered her cd off amazon. I've been meaning to for ages, since I saw her on Jools. : )
Ahh, cool. Just ignore the message then!
thanks for the message, Yoink!
Jut about finishing off listening to her album right now, then some Mars Volta for a bit of a change of speed
.... and I just replied! ;)
I don't know Mars Volta. What's that?
I'll include something about the Mars Volta in my reply on Last, don't want to take up the whole log!
Reply sent Babs :)
99 words left to find. whoop!
Go Mia! :D
ooh! I have 93 left! reply sent, Yoink :)
I have 131 left, I lose.
I think you joined us later.... and you're catching up fast!
Good morning everyone. Hope I'm properly dressed - today is bridges, right?
morning eva! (yes, bridges)
What's your bridge? Mine is the Leonard Zakim/Bunker Hill bridge in Boston - one of my favorite. It was just completed a couple of years go, part of the Big Dig.
Hi all back again and 133 words to go are there any clues yet for ar 5/14 ar 6 /24 and ar 6/30 ??
MissyMe are you there? Before I change to bridges see my icon especially for you!
ar 5/14 - add most of a word being away or departed ar 6/24 - pluralise ar 6/30 - first four letters, then the plural letter then sometimes vowel
hi Eva : ), hi again Lucky!! : )
Hi Babbler!
Hi Lucky, the ar5 is a noble gas and the plural is the 6/24
Eva this is the Gozo natural bridge located in Malta.
Lucky, Missy has gone for the day, I think. :)
Babbler my grape painting got squashed in the upload process my painting is not square and the icons are
what grape painting, Lucky? Did I see it?
Haven't seen your bridge in person yet Eva. Maybe next time I go home.
can any kind babbler help me with the ep's and the ph's - i don't have any and can't see where to start
thanks yoink got them do you have ar6/30 as well? Babbler sorry to hear MissyMe is gone for the day!
You'll get two or three of the ep's tucked right in the corner.
Lucky, Haz's clue at 6:09 got it for me
Babbler I promised MissyMe yesterday to show my paintings in my icons thats now my grapes in a tin bowl if you cannot see it you maybe need to refresh? My icon is has squashed the real painting because it is square.
ahaaa! yes, I see it, Lucky! :)
do you paint in oils?
Ty Yoink got it too Yes Babbler exclusively in oils... I love it
I haven't tried oils... (unless I did in school and don't remember!) : )
ep 5/15 - add first three letters of equine ep8/50 - add past tense of eat ph7/36 - take off the e at the front of the ep8
Babbler did you get around to de 6/24 yet?
I'm afraid not, Lucky. But I'm still guessing the grid and not tried BJ's list yet. : )
great clues, Haz, thanks : )
Babbler good luck!
Lucky, is de6/24 really bad??
thanks haz - got them
Good - I'm still trying to find the other ph word
morning all!! is it a hard one today?
No - it's a really nice grid.
hi Shorty : ) Well, I have 78 left to find and yet to turn to BJ's list. Most of it is lovely. : )
well, i have to go for now - i've 60 still to find. Hopefully catch you all later this evening.
cool thank you!!
see you later, sandr : )
Babbler de 6/24 I have tried for half an hour monkeying ... but don't let that scar you... it could be me
gah! I'm gonna have to focus on it now.... :/
French for inside or within, if that's any help for de6/24
This grid gets hugs and squishes for being so nice :) I'm done... thanks to Haz and Babbler for a couple of clues lifted from the log. Anyone want a clue before I go?
hi trish! congrats!! : )
Or de plus a couple of desperate comic book characters.
that's a clue I understand, Haz! thanks : )
thanks Haz if possible keep those nice clues coming .. I like them alot!
Glad to help - still looking for that ph word!
think I'll join you, Haz. :)
thanks Babbler :) Which ph are you hunting for?
don't tell us yet, trish! I wanna see if I can hunt it down :)
that's the spirit! Good luck :)
Well, I'm exactly half way and I'll have to leave it there till later, bye all
see you later, Yoink. Have a good day :)
bye yoink! i'm off as welll... must go to work
Thanks Babs, I've sent a reply
see you later too, Poo's Mom :)
heheh, I just replied back,Yoink! :)
Haz, are you ready to ask Trish for a clue, if she's still here?
Yes please!
ph + rodent + first two letters of type of bread
Triiiiiiish ?? are you still here? so, about the ph7/44, do you have a clue for us, please? ty :)
oooh!! you beat me to it! lol :)
That sort of word should be illegal. Thanks!
I take it you both found the 7/36 okay?
Yes, the first ph was a doddle in comparison!
lol, you're welcome. I read the def... it's as though someone thought up the word first and then said 'what can we make this mean?'
what an AWFUL word!!! thanks Trish! yes, got the other one from Haz's clue earlier. :)
Sounds like Jonathan Ross trying to say flattery
lol Haz!!! can't give that as a clue to our international friends though, can we?? ; )
lol Haz
No - Jonathan's humour probably wouldn't go down too well elsewhere.
Okay, I'm gone... hope tomorrow's is as pleasant :) Good luck & good day everyone
what's your bridge, Haz? Kind of reminds me of Tintagel.
have a lovely day, Trish, and see you tomorrow :)
It's the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge on the Antrim Coast Road. Salmon fishermen erect it every year to get across to a small island, but it has become a major tourist attraction. Not for the faint-hearted or those suffering from vertigo.
not a bridge I'd try then, Haz, what with being faint-hearted AND suffer from vertigo! :)
I crossed it as a child when I was young and foolish but wild horses wouldn't get me over it now. I can still remember the swaying....
Haz and Babbler ph 7/44 ... please elaborate to this incrowd whispering .... I can take it sure!
groo! I'd be so scared! But it looks beautiful though! :)
Lucky, did you not get it from Trish's clue at 6.42?
It's picturesque, for sure. Lucky - have you got the ph word we're talking about. There are lots of r's in it and Jonathan Ross is a British TV presenter who can't say his r's properly. His rendition of flattery would come out ph7/44
mornin babblers! big grid today!! happy to announce i was on time to work today. :D
hi evanadine! and well done! :)
babbler 6:42 on the ph said it all! onward we go
Lunch time - will be back later. Bye!
see you later, Haz :)
clues for the ph 7/36?
er 5/1 er 6/24 and er 6/21 anyone have clues yet?
trishtrash's clue from below: ph + rodent + first two letters of type of bread
Mia, see Haz's clue at 6.19 :)
er6/21 -- task, chore, "i have to go run an er6"
er 5/12 -- to eat away at something...especially what water can do to land
Thanks Evadine how smooth this grid is today I cannot believe it ...
yw lucky. i still have 120 words left to find, so i wont comment on the grid just yet...hehe
ep8/50 - add past tense of eat can't get this one!
mia - sounds like the number 4 + the past tense of to eat.
Mia, ep5/14 + past tense to eat
Eva I'm down to 105 so we are almost equal today
to avoid confusion my clue is for the ph7/36
ah, thanks guys :)
87 words to find. this is really nice grid today :)
I have 57 to find... but my nemesis is RE words, and I haven't found a single one... :/
Morning everyone!
mornin jen!
ha babbler,i just looked and neither have i! lol
hi Jen :)
i have re4/6, re4/5 no re + another real word though
Babbler and Mia - workd on the g's first and then you will romp through a lot of big re's as a result!
thanks Fmitch! :)
lol!! like butter on toast! :)
LOL yeah!!! BTW been looking in yr handbag Babs, the list of themes has really grown hasn't it - some great ideas in there too.
thanks Fmitch ! I logged in yesterday and suddenly there was a theme-fest! Nearly collapsed getting all the ideas in! (enjoyed though, of course!) :D
right, the only re i'm missing now is the re 7/36 before the re9. any help?
well I never!!! I got all the RE words and it wasn't painful!! thanks again, Fmitch and Evanadine :D
You guys are scring me about the re's.... you know I have re-aphobia!
Mia - it uses the gr5/14 - one that students live off.
Sorry, supposed to be "scaring"
it's present tense, Mia
haha, dunno how i missed that. thanks guys!
I have 47 left to find. Time for a break and something to eat. be back later :)
the Re7 i have just before the Re9 is just the non-past-tense version of the Re9. course, i dont have all the words yet...heh
whoa...I found the 9 letter word and didn't even notice.
see ya Babs, will probably still be here when you get back LOL as I have finished but can't tear myself away just yet.
angel, i was exactly the same! hehe
how often can we say that about a grid word!!
hi babs, haz, lucky, miametro, eva, fmitch, jen, angel...a 9 letter word today, huh?
Angelsong, you inspired me to look at the re's...TY...that led to a whole passel of words.
Morning TO!! Hope things are well for you! :)
Does anyone have clues for the following: op 7/36? Much obliged!
Lucky, if you have surgery, some doctor op****** on you.
lucky when you have surgery they op... on you
think posh italian musical with the end of hand put on it.
err sorry 36 is the name for what you add
today's grid is twice the length of yesterday's, and more than half as easy.
i think if i finish this puzzle i'll make it onto the bottom of the village elders list. how exciting!
thanks Miametro got it... lol
miametro, I read your clue and was desperately looking for wrist. DOH!
lol gramma, sorry!
Mia or 4/5 and last or 4/4 please if you have them yet?
sorry lucky, i don't have many o's at the moment :/
the or 4/5 goes in a square lucky
hi T-Owl :)
Lucky, the or4/4 comes from a mine
or5 - speech (and past tense)
there's another one that sounds like someone from london saying horror. think no h's!
thanks Mia, I was stuck on that :)
comes from a mine Mia what do you mean by that?
anyone have the ho 6/27?
or4/4 po5/12, minus the P
Lucky, it's a plural of a 3 letter word meaning: A mineral or an aggregate of minerals from which a valuable constituent, especially a metal, can be profitably mined or extracted.
Thanks eva got it!
ho6/27 - past tense
ho7 minus the second vowel
Thanks Babbler I am learning every minute!
oops! there are two ho6/27s! sorry
y/w Lucky : )
ho 6/27 occurring once an hour
thanks, Evan :)

all i can think of is hourly!
HO - go left, up, left, down
ho + sun god + type of bread minus last letter
think of famous people who receive ho****** degrees from various universities--they didn't actually attend class . . . then delete "no"
never heard of that word before! lol
une -- i was thinkong of the same clue! but i couldnt think of a way to make it sound clear...hehe
evandine, ty for the map...I wouldn't have found it otherwise.

lol Gramma! *hangs head in shame*. ok.... duly chastised.
stil 85 to go here...
Babbler, I thought the theme today was bridges. Why aren't there bridge icons like mine?
Gramma, love yr icon. always enjoy the way people choose to interpret the themes.
mine should be a bridge -- i swapped it out last night
because you're unique, Gramma!! lol :D

Thanks guys..When you get older, words take on new meanings..:}
may i have a clue for the first se5?
Babbler the first ho 6/27 is too hard to monkey do you have any clues for this one too??
Does my bridge look familiar or does it need Clint and Meryl in front of it? We visited Madison COunty when we lived in OMaha, but our prilgimage was to see John Wayne's birthplace, not the bridges.
1st H06 - i gave directions below. HO -- then go left, up, left, down.
pe8/60
Jen, Bridges of Madison County!!! the book made me cry! and I love the film! :)
Jen, I see a couple. No bridge..sorry
babbler -- any hints on the meaning? hehe
do you have pe6/24, Evan?
surely dont babbler...hehe
ok, pe6/24: One who pays undue attention to book learning and formal rules. for the 8, add the type of bread minus last letter
I think I'm the only person in the world who really disliked that book. Infidelity is not okay w/me under any circumstances.
Never read it gramma and never wanted to... like I said, we were there for the Duke!
of course i couldnt find it -- i forgot about that other P up there!!
Have to scoot ... will be back later bye for now all

Mia, it's a plural
I just stepped outside for a quick ciggie and boy oh boy is that wind howling. It's coming from all directions. I drew some water "cuz it's just a matter of time b efore the power goes out again :{

ep...take the ep5/16 and put a different consonant on the end
this is for the second ep5/14, Ouwa? hi btw :)
babbler take your er5 (to wear away)and change the second letter
pe8? please?
the 2nd ep5/14 is a lyric poem...change 2nd consonant of the word on the list just past it
At last....I've found my bridge,at last.......sung in the old time style......all this googling is driving me nuts AND my files look weird as hell with all these odd and random downloaded pics......Arrr and all this before Babbling...
I have the first 3 ep words. It's the last one that is eluding me. And it my last word too!! :)
DONE...anyone need a clue before I go
babbler see my clue...change the second letter of the word below your last ep...
Nevermind. Found it without help.
babbler....go up the right side of the grid

oh no, have got those ones then. damn it! it was the swarm clue that threw me
Okay, change of plans, I'm back! Can't go to the gym because I gotta get my cat to the vet in an hour.
ya, it's the same pronuciation on the ho's, but different spellings.
has there been a clue for the pe8/50?
of course it is!! thanks, that's the last of my h's :)
72TO, no, no one ever gave me one! :( But I found it all on my own... take the 6 before it, and add an ending
ty jen! i've already tried the most obvious one...will keep trying!
the suffix makes it mean and intance of pe6 (it uses that "sometimes vowel")
I meant an instance, not and intance! :)
k all. gotta get back to work. bbl! happy babbling!
bye efor!

Hi Jera :) Hi Harp :)
dont i know it -- my alarm didnt go off yesterday morning, so i overslept...then i had to stay 2 hours late at work to make up for it... was dark, dark, DARK by the time i got home!

Has Jen left already? I'm running late today

Not sure Jera.....if she has gone, then only just!!
I'm running away from home to go to the movies this afternoon... that's always more fun with a friend you know...
Cool....have a good time. Whats the movie??
Haven't decided yet, I'm thinking either Hoodwinked (to screen for the Sprite) or Casanova...
Well enjoy it whichever you choose :)
What's your bridge, Jera? It's cool!
Jera - both look good...should be a fun afternoon!!
That's the coathanger... Sydney Harbour!
I'm still a little punch drunk with the freedom I have with Gwyd in pre-school...
anyone know which 6 6'es im missing? the list of what i have is at 10:05 am
Oh, it's the same bridge as Mr. President has!
I'm not surprised, harp, since she's actually there... I'm just an Aussie wannabee
ta6/18
Sorry Sami, i've only just dived in the Babblepond... : /
no worries anj. for the most part, its really not a toughie today.
Eva it`s the plural of ta5/10

the last 5/10 i think :)
thanks, lotti!
How funny, we have both the ay4/6 & the na4/6...

congrats Babs!
thanks lotti -- both Ta 5/10s i have are aalready plurals...heh
I need the ar6/30, please...
Woo hoo Babbler! :)

Hey Jera! Taking my cat to the vet... she's got blood in her fe5!
I'm thinking of their Pastiche album - are the original line up still going?
Yeah good sis thanks.....still waiting to hear from that job!!
Oh joy... sounds MUCH more fun than running away to see a movie with me...
yes . . . my daughter and I saw them a couple of years ago at the Blue Note in NYC--sooooo cool!! :-)
evan, i can't see your list any more. I just found sn 6/18.
ar6/30 - to the first four letters of ar5/14 add s then sometime vowel
ar6/30 think of Jason and the Argonauts
Yeah doesn't it! Can't wait to see the vet bill too!
here's eva's list: ok, now just missing 6 of my 6'es, i have: ad6 21 ar6 24 ar6 30 cr6 24 da6 24 da6 24 do6 24 er6 24 er6 21 er6 18 gr6 30 gr6 27 gr6 30 gy6 30 ho6 27 ho6 27 or6 21 pe6 24 pr6 24 py6 27 ra6 21 sn6 18 tr6 24 tr6 21 ya6 30

If they're still making records, I must look out for their new stuff.
Thanks, Haz... what a funny word... i would have never gotten that one!
It is strange, I agree.
Maybe if you can get away tomorrow we can go see Casanova... how chick flick can ya get?
Those living in Britain might use it as an adjective to describe cheap tat...
Mums loads better....she has been back babbling!!! I haven`t spoken to her for 2 days, which is unusual for me :)
haz: Janis Siegel has recently finished recording her ninth solo album called A Thousand Beautiful Things. The CD will be out on the Telarc label in March of 2006.
I'd love to, but I have Ethan and probably not age appropriate. ;) Can't really do a baby sitter at this point either.
You can really learn a lot from the multicultural aspect of this game... don't much care for the obscure coins, though...
and: Cheryl Bentyne's newest solo album on the Telarc label, "Let Me Off Uptown", was released on April 26, 2005.
Haven't seen her but then I haven't done much chatting lately...had ANOTHER cold! : /
une -- add: de6 24 ta6 18 im just missing 4 now
Ah, well, maybe another time... Gwyd felt well enough to go to school today, so I'm revelling in freedom for the mo...
Thanks, Une - duly noted for attention!
right . . . i got those too . . . missing the same ones as you!
I'm so glad he's doing better!
Aww sis, hope you`re feeling better now!! Did you get your mail ??
haz (and i promise i'll stop): their last "group" album was Vibrate in September 2004
cant the babble gods perform a miracle and just finish it for me today? hehe
Me, too...he had a high fever this weekend, brought home a bug that was going around at school... thank the gods he didn't get the diarrhea aspect of it... just coughing & fever, not much appetite...
Thanks - I've noted that as well. I enjoy listening to people who really can sing!
lotti, haven't checked mail today! Excuse me while I do... : )
haz, are you familiar with Pink Martini? bet you'd like them as well!
No, that's a new name to me. I'll keep an eye out for them.
I'd love to have the "no appetite" part for a while!
I'm stuck on the de6/24 ... help, please? (holds fish poised)
Jera, my family and I had that virus over Christmas. No fun! :/ Hope he gets better soon.
de + desperate comic heroes
de 6/24 - French for within, or inside. Or add Mr Quayle pluralised.
We got sick right after Christmas... had to cancel New Year's plans... now this is part 2 I guess... seriously, it's quite different... I'd be just too depressed to get the same thing twice...
Haz, love that clue!! :)
ok une -- i checked out the BA stats + here are the ones we are missing: pe6 24 pr6 24 ra6 21 ta6 24
Thank you - I had to think of something that would be internationally understood!
oh Haz! I didn't think of that! Isn't our desperate hero international then?
Love it when my French comes in handy! Thanks! Maybe someday I'll improve on seeing these things on my own...
Yay! I got the volcano : ) I usually miss that one... : /
pe..... 24. Hoist by
I did Anj!!!! LOL Cheers for that nudge :)
Hey babe, did you get what we are going to have to get lots of to visit SA?? : )
pr6/24 - rhymes with da5/14
Babbler- I don't know whether he is known in the States. Funnily enough I tend to think of him as American eating his cow pie and everything..
ra6/21 - we're still talking the same rhyme (plural)
lotti, thanks for the mail (((x))), will write back soon, okay? : )
Love the pe6/24... one of my favorite phrases... lovely imagery, LOL
I'm in the US and playing Babble.
lol Lo...I do now : )
babbler -- i have that one...seems theres another pr6 24
ta6/24 - plural
Haz - what is a 'cow pie' in Britain?? here is the states...NO ONE would eat a cow pie!!
yes, past tense pr5/12
The comic book character we're talking about specialised in eating huge pies which he called 'cow pies' - presumably beef. He wore a stetson etc and looked like a cowboy.
ahh, im missing the Ta6 18 -- sorry!
Ok Sis..... thought I was never gonna get round to mailing you!! Hubby was down your way yesterday....east street i think at the newspaper production building!!
ta6/18 - plural
We'd probably call that a "pot pie"... beef, chicken, sometimes turkey... yum!
yikes...the only thing i know of called cow pies are....well....stuff the cow has already eaten.....
Hello everyone Looks like i've missed a lot of chat; the grid looks better than yesterday's stinker :) Today i'm the Forth Rail Bridge
Haz - cow pies in the US = cow droppings left in the pasture... ; )
hi Stef :)
Hi Stef!
aren't they cow pats, EB?
Ah - so that's why you were so horrified!!!
pe 6/24 is my last 6 to find!
This is going to take a while!
Remind me not to laugh if a Brit comes to a Montana pub and asks for a cowpie.
Hi stef! : ) My bridge is the one between Zimbabwe and Zambia at Victoria Falls : )
not as long as you think, Stef. Most of it is like butter on toast! (my fave expression today) :)
Lola, the same Victoria Falls that are the highest in the world?
*WHEW!* found all my 6es!!
Babs - US call 'em cow pies... As Jera mentioned, we'd call it a 'pot pie' - top/bottom crust - filled with beef, chicken or turkey w/ veggies & gravy...
Babs, I don't think Vic Falls are the highest....but they are very beautiful : )
40 words left to find, all 4s and 5s! woohoo! *takes a break from word-searching*
I read somewhere they were, Lola. But I was a kid at the time, so I might be / probably am wrong. :/
Angel Falls are the highest I *think*
babs, just had a google and the highest are the Angel Falls in Venezuela : )
*slinks back to work* see you in a bit!!
Later EB :)
ahaa!! thanks, that would have bugged me till I looked myself! :)
yes! Yes! YES!! Got all the As in one hit : D woot woot woot!
see you later, EB :)
Nice one atalante! And hello! : )
the whole grid is kind of like that, Anj. :)
Calm down Anj!!!!!
no lotti, it's a truly delightful grid today. a total pleasure!
Oh wow... sn4/6 = my favorite Brit word, LOL!
hi :) that was a bit of perking up over totally random bits of information! One day I'll learn something useful!
I mean, quite a few of us got the 9 without even realising this morning!!!! how often does THAT happen?? :)
...but As are my mortal enemy. I consider the beats slain and will prance about on my charger looking unbearably smug until it bucks and throws me off...
Anj, REs are my nemesis, and they just completed themselves today!! It's a magical grid! :)
got the 9 and most of the7s and 8s no problem. its the 6es that were beating me down! hehe
Then you'll be hoist by your own pe6/24
But atalante, the useful things are sooooo boring! : D
Babs...I copied the grid this morning and did loads of words at work. Now i`m typing them in and yeah i agree it`s quite a friendly grid!! :)
Mornin' all, just read thru the last 50 messages and rotfl about the cow pies. Hey, when they're nice and dry they make great frisbee's... hahahahaha
Anj - careful you don't use words in the grid, hun.... :/
anyone have a clue to the nine?
hi Darleen :)
To paraphrase Sir Humphrey Appleby ' It's a lovely grid. It's the kind of grid that Harrod's would sell you'
hi babbler!
Wordlady - re9/72
Anj I can tell you`re excited cos the pr slipped out LOL!!!
...eek! I used a word... : / I haven't got to that one yet : ( Pass me the Fish of self-flagellation please...
lol Haz!! but would you find a cheaper alternative in the ar5 high street store???
Yes, Anj, if you must pr6/24 about the grid, at least put it in code...
(oh sorry, the ar5 I just referred to isn't in the grid, but something close to it is)
an ar6/30 grid doesn't bear thinking about....
true! ok. useless information. there's a word "aa". I love it! The international telphone dialing code for Antarctica is 672.
Anj, we were having a theme fest last night (which was why I missed you when you were on)..... and I had a blinding idea for a Fish theme!!! Dunno why I didn't think of it before! :)
Ooo that helped with an 8, but I"m 9-blind
Okay, I'm off to the vet... happy thoughts that my kitty is okay everyone! :)
LOL Haz!!! (actually, confession, I like that store!) ;)
See ya Jen hope it`s ok :)
Wordlady - past tense
But you wouldn't buy a babble grid from it, would you?
why not? same stock, different venue! (isn't it??)
Fish theme sounds good : )
I got it ... can you tell it was bugging me ... you all have a TERRIFIC morning, or is it afternoon by now
have you seen my handbag today, Anj? take a deep breath before you dive in! lol :)
y/w Wordlady! you have a lovely day too! :)
atalante....how do you know these things?? lol! : D
lol Atalante!! :D
don't know really! I just pick them up from random places! Well, aa is a type of lava, so I learnt *all* about that when I was shoved in an office with lots of vulcanologists!
somebody please - may i have a clue for de 6/24???
atalante, don't you just HATE it when that happens....
I gotta scoot in 25 mins... think I can finish my last 80 words??
*giggles* oh yeah ... its a bitch :P
beep = female dog!!
T-Owl, see Haz's clue at 10.34 am :)
LOL! ; )
OK everybody I thought I'd play... refresh if you want to see a pic of the Royal Gorge bridge over the Arkansas river in Colorado. It's 1,000 feet over the river...eeeeek. Went there once. Stood at the side of the bridge and went "no way am I driving over THAT."
yes you will, Jera. see you later! :)
WOW, Darleen! :)
Bummer, missed Jen while I was taking a potty break...
Your confidence in me is most heartening, Babbler! *doffs hat*
Lola? Recognise my new bridge? (I've just changed it)
...! Got all the Gs in one hit too.... why the sudden Babblegenerosity??
thanks babs ! : )
atalante, I don't : /....should I??
Anj, it must be your lucky day babe! ; )
Just wondered :) Its the Kaimaans River bridge between George and Knysna - on the Garden Route - didn't know how well you knew the western side of the country!
Not that lucky sis if you`re in Peterborough!!!!!!LOL
atalante, that's why! I've never been to the Cape but my sister worked in that area and would probably have been able to set me straight! I have heard of it though : )
The first se5/14 has me stumped... help, please?
lotti, LOL! : D
ta 5/12 is my last word and i just cannot see it - may i have a clue please?
tis a pretty bridge :)
The 9 is in it's box : ) Woot! I'm on a roll : D
jera, se plus consonant plus opp of yes : )
jero - take the 4/5 below it and add a letter before the last vowel
go anj! go anj!
T-Owl - ta5/12 - weird word. starts off as a word that means when someone is late, and ends in a hoop
Thanks! Another weird one...
atalante, it's a beautiful area. Have you been there? I know you've seen Capetown but not sure how much you've travelled in SA : )
ta 5/12 - first three letters of road making surface, then two letters meaning to act or bring about
oh, and you have to drop the sometime vowel at the end of it. (eeek, not sure I'm making sense!)
thanks Haz! *phew* maybe I should stop with the clues?
thanks babs! i thought i tried that one! and i am done *grabs babs in d5/14 of happiness*
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeee!!! congrats, T-Owl!! :D
that was a fun grid, if a tad long....
Yay! Well done temple! : )
Huzzah for TempleOwl!!
We used to have a holiday house in Mossel Bay, so I know the area between Cape Town and there very well - but apart from that .. We I know Port Elizabeth and East London - and I nearly went to uni in PE!
Thanks all! any clues needed?
Hi, Temple, help with pe8/60
perii - do you have the 6/24 above it? if so add the suffix that makes it the practice of...
need that one too please temple
atalante, that's cool! I do intend to see CT and the garden route at some stage. I'm also desperate to see the karoo and the kalahari gemsbok national park (north west cape).
nope don't have the pe6/24 either
I love the Karoo! Though I've only really been in the Little Karoo - I just love deserts full stop.I'd love to spend more time there
Help with py5/16 (the first one) and py6/27 please??
ok - pe6/24: one unduly concerned with book learning and formal rules
py + opposite of "walked"
and py-***, py-*** so far away... py just ***, py*** both night and daaaaay...
lola: py4/7 - last letter + opposite of walked
smaller - couldn't believe the puzzle the other day allowed carroty but not oaty 8 D
atalante, me too! My favourite part of the world is near the SA/Zim border. Very dry with lots of red mopane bush....gorgeous! Also great elephant country : )
Temple, thanks got the pe6/24 right away, now to make it pe8/60
*places hand over evan's forehead* now dear, just sit down and have a rest...
eva - singing "Flock of Seagulls" again?? LOL!
LOL Eastern Blue! maybe Dr. God got the message and allowed y endings on all fruits/veggies/whole grains
Thanks guys! : )
smaller - I fear not on the fruit in the grid today...
found the pe8/60 thanks Temple
Well, I gotta scoot... 48 left, hopefully I will be back!
bye Jera!
but the fish do seem to have disappeared lately...
and I'd like to visit Durban and that side of the country! And I'd love to spend some time around the Drakenbergs
'bye jera : )
yeah, you laugh at me now, but youll remember that word next time, wont you?! hehe
bye jera!
EB- oh i just tried it too. maybe he's allergic, so he's biased
atalante, the KZN north coast is amazing! Pristine beaches AND game reserves.....what more could you ask for?? : ) And don't even get me started on the Drakensberg!...*sigh* very homesick now : /
awwww sorry :( I've spent a few days in the Drakensstein - which was beautiful enough - one day I will get to the Drakensberg! And Namibia (changing sides of the country in a flash!)
EB- oh silly me on that appropriate reverence thing. I'll retype to correct. "Maybe He's allergic, so He's biased."
well i must go! bye all! happy babbling!
smaller - ROFL!!!
Bye T-Owl...
bye temple - thanks for the clues!
Namibia! Another place I'd like to visit : ) Next time I go to the D/berg I want to do a five day cave hike. I'll let you know when and you can come! ; )
'bye temple : )
Help with the ph7/44, please?? : )
I really really want to go to Namibia - though it has sad overtones - one of my cousins was killed there while on military service. But it just looks so beautiful now ... and 5 day cave hikes? Wow! The only caves I've been in over there are Kango and Elephants Eye - its a little cave about 3/4 of the way up of one of the Cape mountains
*coughs*
Anj? Are you o.k.??
...or is that the subtle hint that you've finished?
Anj.....feeling of neglect, or coffee time???!!!!!! LOL
ph7/44 - ph plus first two letters of rodent plus 'attempt'
Sorry to hear that atalante. We all knew someone who had lost a son or brother in that stupid war : / Yeah, it's a guided hike and you sleep in the caves at night : )
Le Pont Alexandre III, Paris Good morning, everyone -- Back for the last 35 :)
Just the "who? me?? lurking???, nooo..." type of cough...
Oh my! thank you haz! : ) What's up babe??
hi cyber!
any clues for the ra5/10 please
sleep in the caves? wow!!!
Hi Cyber :) EB i take it work wasn`t calling afterall!!!!! ;)
ros - pl of the ra 4/4
Plural of the unusual ra4/4
atalante, I know! How awesome does that sound?? : )
Afternoon, popped in for a few before I take the kiddos to the grocery store.
Hi Bunny!!
Hi bunny : )
I only have 5 words left....and they are all E's! : /
Ihave not got thera 4/4 help below the ra5/10
The bottom right P is putting up a stiff resistance... : /
ros - something that is not common is ra _ _ or...when cooking beef, people like it ra _ _ , medium ra _ _ or well done...
hi bunny!
hello again, looks like a fun one today!
got it at last thanks easternblue and haz
bunny - it's not too bad!!
ros - glad to help!
Kids want their dinner!!!! See you all later :)
Good day everyone. Just back for my few (100+) words.
Um...help with the ep8, please?/ : )
later Lotti : )
bye lotti!!
'bye sis! : ) Hi mab! : )
hi mab!
Oh, I do like the bridges, although bunny is creeping me out a bit with hers.
OK, 100 left, back after THE TRIP. Take care, bye all.
hi folks :) ...nice bridges...
Lola, ep8 - stick an e infront of your ph7/36
hi to all who just joined! :)
er, said that before I saw bunny... :D
ep 8 is ep plus seventh letter plus ra4.
hi Sherb!
Thanks babs!...could have sworn I tried that : /
Hi sherb : )
hi EB :D hi lola :D
Hi All, Babbler, I like your Turner....
thanks Chic! I'd forgotten all about the great fire of London till today! lol :) What's your bridge?
Hi chic : )
I'm fond of my bridge. It's a Claus Oldenberg, the artist who sought to amplify the dignity of ordinary objects. It's in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where I grew up.
hi chic :)
It's the Brooklyn Bridge (I was born In Brooklyn). And the Twin Towers are spot lights...
I thought it looked familiar (though I'm not a New Yorker!) :)
nice image, chic.
Mab, is yours a spoon with a cherry?
tu, any clues for the de 6/24?
de + plural Mr Quayles, Chic
Yes. It is in front of a modern art museum; has wee pond underneath with irises thick about it.
I'm just looking at it in Google - WOW!! :)
pe 8/60?
thanx, babbler; almost forgot who he is...I'm not very political minded...
hmmm. Babbler, I can't find 'blockhead' in the grid...
cybernan, look at the pe 6 and add 2 consonants
lol Mab!! when was your bridge built/made? I can't find that in google.
I've got it down to 18 to get without 'the List' : /
Thank you, Chic
Years ago, perhaps 20. Google spoon bridge. It belongs to the Walker Art Center.
you are truly supersonic, Anj! I resorted to the list much earlier. :/ but I'm not supersonic.
thanks Mab. found it. 1985-1988. :)
Go Anj! : D Okay, last plea for help...er6/21?? : )
Babs, I can't take all the credit. Some good clues helped me along too : ) Right, time to feed before i'm struck down with malnutrition... BBL folks : D
Wear away, past tense.
Lo, have you got the one meaning to go deliver something, as in e.... boy?
sorry, wrong er.
Cheers babe : ) mab, thanks, but that's the er6/24 : )
Aaargh! Thanks babe! And I'm done : )
pe 5/14 following the 8?
congrats, Lola!!! you're supersonic too!! :D
Hurrah Lola!!!!
cyber - sounds like a spanish guy's name. well, actually it is a spanish guy's name! lol! :)
babs, lol! I think you'll find that the only thing I'm flying on is too much cough mixture! : D
awwwww!! (((xxx))) another hot toddy?
Thanks, Babbler -- never considered that anything other than a proper name!
babs, no thanks. I am sipping a cough mixture martini as we speak : )
lol Lola!! well I couldn't compete with that! :D
right - do I really need a pair of jeans off ebay?
iola -- there was an article in the news the other day saying that cough mixtures are just a waste of money, they do no good and might actually do some harm, depending on the contents. Recommended plenty of fluids, vitamin c and lots of rest. Hot lemonades, anyone? :)
Perhaps you can get this over the counter there; cough syrups with codeine in them are useful. At the least they give you a break from coughing, especially if you are not sleeping well due to cough.
cyber - that used to be my policy, ie no meds, but then I learnt you can scar your lungs with too much coughing and that's why cough medicine IS a good idea. I take it now. Though I still limit the meds I take. (I am prone to bronchitis as a result of not taking better care).
I was only kidding about the martini! lol : D I agree with mab and babbler. Most things are fine in moderation : )
Lola - say yes or no to £12. Your decision.....! :)
Er....yes! : D
yay! that will be my max bid for the jeans. ending in 11 mins.... : )
ep 5/14?
lola - now Babs will blame you since she bought the jeans!!
Lola, they are black with very subtle black beading on them. could I go a bit higher with my bid? should I?
cyber - a lyric poem...
babbler, no! You said 12...stick to that : )
you are truly a good friend, Lola. I'll do as you say. Good plan.
cyber, one sounds like e-4 and the other has another word for a poem on the end : )
Thanks, Eastern -- thought I had that!
What always seems to help me when I have a cough is a good deal of hot herbal peppermint tea. The peppermint oil soothes the throat. Never been a fan of cough medicine. Except for NyQuil when I want to sleep for 12 hours. That stuff knocks you out!
ar 6/30?
ginger is a natural expectorant, so I always put a chunk of that in my green tea when I have a cough. (that needs it, of course) :)
babbler, I am living through you as I am too terrified to look at ebay! I know that once I start there will be only one ending, and it would not be a happy one : /
help with de6?
it is truly terrible, Lola. I'm back on it since I decided not to play big grids... :/
my dad makes his own cough syrup - southern comfort w/ oil of peppermint and/ some peppermint candy dissolved in it....%}
only bought a cd for a couple of quid so far though.... not too bad! :)
Hi ren! Can I just have the southerns?? : D
cyber, start with your first ar5 word. drop the n, add the wiggly consonant the the sometime vowel on the end
doxy - de + plural Mr Quayles
Got it, thanks
sure lola... he has a store room full of it...8)
ar6/30: ar plus opp of come plus opp of outgoing without the middle letter.
thanks babbler
Renfield, that sounds like an excellent recipe whether you have a cough or not ;)
Hello to all - Beautiful Bridges and sculptures.
Hi faerie : )
jael...it is - his mother made it w/ moonshine....
lola.. great clue! thanks!
You're welcome smaller : )
:'( Lolaaaaaa! I was outbid. they went for £13.50. But I stopped at 12, so that was good at least. Need a hug now.
hi faerie :)
Lola - where is your Bridge? Mine is the Mighty Mackinaw Bridge connecting the lower & upper pennusila of Michigan
Hi Babble *great big hug* (*^_^*)
all finished. Thanks for the clues.
Awww babs! (((((((xx)))))))....better? : ) faerie, it is the bridge between Zimbabwe and Zambia at Victoria falls : )
well done doxy :) ...still waiting for you to go Pro... :D
thanks Lola and Faerie. *brightens* :D MUCH better. I didn't really need them, did I? :D
Yay! Well done doxy : )
doxy.. yes I agree with sherb! then we can see Abbigail photos!
payday is tomorrow.
congrats, doxy!! really, you're going to join us?? yayyyyy!! :D
babs, no you didn't : )
woo, party for doxy tomorrow... :D
well, my hubby is going to Arizona next month, bought his plane ticket this morning. I think I can spring $10.
Babbler I went shopping yesterday and bought 2 pair of jeans exactly alike just because they fit and they were cute * so there * I got tired of the job seaching so I found something better to do.
have to go to work. See you all later.
'bye doxy : )
see you later, doxy :)
Bye Doxy (see you tomorrow as a pro?)
lol faerie!! good for you! My clothes are a bit snug right now, but that's only because of Christmas. Just need to exercise...... :/
I must say goodbye now too. See you all tomorrow : )
I must go be domestic now; have 84 to go thanx for all the clues! c u later.
bye doxy bye lola
Bye Lola *hugs for you sweetie*
bye lola... bye doxy...
Bye Chic ------ back on Waltons Mountain *flash back*
bye lola and doxy :) I'm off too... friends arriving... back later :)
bye Lola! :) (((xxx))) get well soon!
see you later, Sherb. have a lovely evening! :)
Later Sherb
pe 8? and the ph words? Could I have clue?
stuck on the last ta 5/10 & 6/18 -- between 'protective covering' and 'covered with black goo'?
Bye, Sherb
pe8 builds on pe6/24
Evening all. Hope you are all okay today (and sober)
pe 8: add 2 consonants to pe 6: if at first you don't succeed.....
Hi Caitlyn
bye, faeriekae...a little Nash anyone?
ph7/36 - start with ep5/14. drop the e, then add past tense for eat on the end.
Good evening all........I want sweeties....liquorice comfits...cos I've just spoken to my sister (in law) who's 8 weeks pregnant....Yay
ph7/44 - ph + rodent + type of bread minus last letter
ph 7/36: ph + not either, but ** + consumed ph 7/44: ph + egyptian god + attempt
cyber - ta 5/10 & 6/18 - think road covering, double the consonent and add a vowel on the end. then the plural.
hi caitlyn :)
Thanks for the p clues. Great clues!
hi Harp. thanks for suggesting bridges today. Hasn't it turned out well?! :D
congrats tbear - will this be your first niece/nephew???
hi tbear!! congrats to your sister!! :D
Thank you, Babbler -- *LOL as I cross the finish line*
Hey everyone, I'm back! The cat is doing well... and I got out of the vet for only $130! :)
No but first one from them....other two are 12 and 13,so we haven't had a family baby for yonks....can't wait...I'm SO excited
congrats, cyber! :)
that's a relief, Jen. Glad your cat is well. :D
I think we should be able to get health insurance plans for our pets!
Congrats tbear xx
tbear - you'll have to join me in the besotted aunty brigade! lol! :D
cyber...I think they have some... Jen - glad the kitty is o.k.!!
I actually have seen pet insurance, but I don't know the cost. It would be totally worth it on our dog! Last time had a problem, it cost $600
Im going again now .......back later
Hey Cybernan if there's a Petsmart with a Banfield Vet near you (I know there are only a few Petsmarts in Canada but not sure where you are), you can get health insurance throught them. It's a great deal-- I used to have it when I had a cat. Have to see their vets only, though.
bye caitlyn...
I only plan to be besotted til he/she's 12ish...have decided children should then be cryogenically frozen from 12 til 18. Must admit tho will be fun to hold and look after a baby again.....and then hand back....
Thanks, but we don't have a pet anymore -- our cat disappeared alnost 2 years ago and we haven't had the heart to replace her.
Jen....good to hear your 'baby' is ok.....
jaelithej, I actually live in the US, but I looked that up, thanks for mentioning it! We have a Petsmart very close to us. Will have to get more info.
Thanks tbear! You don't wanna know what they had to do to her though..... ;}
Exciting news, tbear! Love newborns. And older too, but especially adore the new tinies. Congratulations!
So many bridges bring back so many great memories -- I have to keep changeing!
Jen...i love your covered bridge...would have chosen one if we didn't have our famous bridge in Bristol. Reminds me of 'Bridges of Madison County'.....lovely book
time for dinner :) may be back later, otherwise see you tomorrow for volcanoes! :D
Oh Hi Jen! I should have addressed that to you too considering you're the one with the sick kitty! I had just seen Cyber talk about pet insurance, and Cyber's in Canada, which is why I said something about Canada :)
Thanks! We actually saw this one, the "Hogback" bridge when we went on our pilgrimage to John Wayne's birth place in Madison County
Bye Babbler! Jen, so glad kitty is ok. Just spent a small fortune saving mine -- twas worth it though.
hey folks, how hard is the grid today? wondering if i should do it...
Bye Babble (((((((xxx))))))
Bye Babs...
hi hurshy....todays seem quite reasonable...altho I'm on 40% in....
I think you especially will find it easy, hurshy.
Bye babbler, hi hurshy! :)
It's fairly easy compared to the last two!
so embarrassing when i forget to dress properly - here's my bridge if you want to refresh. hi everyone!
hello there everyone.....been in and out all day !!!....but can concentrate a little now I think !!!....going for the 'p's !!!
Hi hurshy/Karys...
Name and where of your bridge, Hurshy?
well, now that you guys have given me such a vote of confidence, i HAVE to do it. :) it's already reminded me of elvis. maybe we should have an elvis theme day sometime.
Hi Karys!
it's the golden gate - at night just cause it's an incredibly pretty shot. had to choose that bridge bc of star trek :)
hi eb, karys, mab, cnan, jen, tbear, faeriekae, whoever else is still here :)
LOL....hurshy...you be worn out soon !!
It is a pretty shot -- we were there last year -- couldn't get over the size of those cables!
I think Eastern is of like mind?
cyber...indeed - it was my attempt at the GG bridge!! (daytime 'snapshot')!!
Hurshy --- Hi Hon whats shaken' ?
Finally! I am finished! It was easy today, but man! All the "interruptions"! :)
oh, just trying to keep my spirits up - babbling away - 75 so far.
Off to work on my digital photo albums (getting behind) -- will check in later :)
bye cyber...
Bye Cybernan
bye cyber :)
aw...i just missed Babbler, shucks
I am off too! Need to work on a quilt. See y'all tomorrow. :)
bye Jen... Hi mark!
I has to finish sanding in by bathroom so I can paint. Better get my butt moving or I'll be sanding this time next week. bbl
Bye Jen :)
ooh, pe6, nice, very shakespeare
bye fairiekae...
bye jen....hope it wasn't something I said !! :)
hey Eastern...just taking a quick break from job-hunting... :)
having a bit of a word block on the ar 5 and two 6's can't someone start me off pleazse
mark - how's the search??
look there's another one going now....it must be me....Hi mark...please dont go too !!
tbear -sorry - haven't done the 'a's' yet...
i've got an ar5, it's an element
well, the search really began in earnest last Friday, and we had MLK 2 days ago, so i shouldn't feel too bad that nothings happened yet
and one of the 6's is the plural
thx Hurshy that gave me the 5 and one 6......
mark - keep pluggin' away...my hubby was out of work & just found a PT job w/ H&R block...he's working on his investment licenses for long-term employment...
the other starts with the same 4 letters, then add a "Homeric" ending :-)
i used to have my series 6 and 63 licenses (i just suck at sales)...
mark - hubby's recommendation is to network as much as you can...that's how he found both jobs (pt & long-term investing one...)
For the ar 6/30 think of a British catalogue store and add sometimes vowel
Hi everyone!!! OOOOHHHHH - it's a biggie... don't know if I should dive in or not!!
mark - I always say he's a schmoozer...(in a good way - not used car sales schmoozing...)
yeah, im working on my network, but i just relocated recently, so it's a whole new territory here...
MAMA!!! ((((***HUG****)))) It's not that bad...I found the 9 w/o any clues or help!
just past halfway in...20 minutes? it's not so bad, mama.
mark - where do you live?
Dallas/Fort Worth area
hey Mama!
Hi Music Man!!!!!!!! hmmmm... encouraging words on the grid... maybe I'll take a peek.....
(((((((((((((((((EB))))))))))) ))))))
you should look at local career resource centers, libraries...local magazines might list 'groups' too...
i guess that's me, the Music Man?
yessir!!!!!!
mark - do you play - or just like music??
Nice bridges everyone!!! Like mine?
*sheepishly asks* Mama - what's his first name again?? (I know it's going to be an "AHA!" when you tell me!!)
Mark i am in the DFW metroplex, more Fort Worth. what kind of a job are you looking for?
Eatern, i do like muisc, but i also play, have a CD of original instrumental piano and keyboard out: www.markbowersmusic.com
hey Joey, i have experience in administration, and am looking for project or operations management, but im open to other stuff too
mark - I've always wanted to learn to play piano... I sing & used to play violin/viola but haven't played those in years!!
See, mark, I am your PR dept.!!!!!!! EB - Lloyd!
Mama - thank you!! (it was the 'ahhhh...yes!')
like to take this off-line..... send me email joanne.e.klutz@lmco.com
Mammabear you are so funny LOL
faeriekae - life is too short to take it too seriously!!!!
mark -...(virtual) networking may even pay off! 8 D
did mark just get a job through babble! that's soooo cool!!!
ok, DEEP BREATH.... :)
Hey, Smaller - how goes it?
smaller - it appears that joey may know of opportunities, or may be able to help in the job hunt... the Babble group is so great!!
*I'm still sanding in the bathroom just walked thru my office* I love you guys... You just make me smile and I thank you. (*^_^*)
I can try.... i work in a big company and there are always openings....... maybe it will work, maybe not.
Hi Joey!!! if i read all the stephanie plum books can I have a job too?! and can i go on the cruises?!!
of course you can go on the cruises.... i am getting excited about them...... get a job? depends on how far you want to travel - are you in DFW also?
ok, i will have you all know that 'detray' is a word. in college, if you had too many people at the table in the dining hall, you had to take all your plates and glasses off your trays so that everyone could fit - those trays were too bulky. this was known as detraying. someone actually carved "death before detrayal!" into one of the trays.
joey, but it would have to be a Montana branch and from my home would be great and allows babble while working and a company car and a masseuse ...am i asking for too much?
Hey I need a job too.... That's what I've been doing for the last 3 weeks is job seaching. It sucks and I'm very discouraged at this point.
joey - it's nice of you to investigate the possibility...I know my hubby appreciated any leads or ideas when he was searching... (good luck mark!)
can I say I think joey's bridge is the prettiest so far....the others are all lovely too of course !!!
MamaBear, you are just a miracle of a person. Do you know it?
however, since babble will not accept detray, would anyone like to help me with the de6?
just waiting to start a dialogue.....
faerie - hang in there... unfortunately, I don't know anyone in your area (just looked at your profile)...but my general suggestions to Mark might work for you too... good luck in your search too...
DFW- Definite Fan of Words? Destined to Find Wealth? Determined to Foster Warmth? then yes I'm with DFW
Back to sanding walls. For real this time.
Greetings All. Haven't been around for a while. I hope all is well with everyone.
faerie- we'll believe it when you start painting LOL!! keep up your spirits...we'll be here for you!
i like the last one - destined to foster warmth. actually Dallas-Fort Worth
nice to see you minski :)
EB - I am networking and pounding the streets and papers and I'm not giving up....that's just too easy.
hi Minski :)
hi minski! joey - shoot! we were so close!
Yes, Babbler, the bridges are beautiful!
hi minski...
Hi Minski! How are you?
so, um, that de6, anyone?
We are doing well. Paigey is now almost 13 months old and crawling all over the place but not walking yet. She is taking a nap, thank goodness, and I am babbling so I don't fall asleep myself. It's too late in the day for me to take a nap.
faerie - good for you...it does take time...just think - you can add 'handywoman' to your resume...(once you finish your bathroom of course!)
From earlier clue: to rid oneself of Quayles.
Smaller, and by the way - the masseuse was over the top.......
smaller - you were so close with that job!!
Joey, i just sent u a brief email, with resume attached. (i think i'm having sudden heart palpitations)
joey! gotta find those boundaries! : )
Hey guys, py 6/27 (and the preceding 5/16)? pr 7/40? tyia
ah, that's french - how'd it sneak into the puzzle? thanks though!
py 5 & 6 py + opposite of walked then the plural...
DE6? Another babble non-word that noone's ever heard of.
pr 7 - suffix meaning 'before' + synonym for ditty/aria
Eastern Blue- that's the sense I got too. Don't you think joey's being a little discriminatory on not allowing the masseuse?
Hey, smaller, where in Montana are you? I'm in Hamilton!
smaller - maybe it's the year-end bonus & she just can't tell you about it yet!! LOL!!
really?!!!!! Hot Springs!
LOL Eastern Blue!!!! Well she is going on a cruise. If I get hired right away maybe I could make it!!!
mab - thank you for the compliment, but I am merely trying to make my way through this wonderful world as best I can... I have found that taking it "lightly" helps!
Dang! We're almost neighbors! I think I'm playing at the Simes Hotel in Feb.
afternoon/evening babblers!
WOW!!! Contracted through the Artist Society?
hi eva!
Hiya Eva!
hi eva!
Hi eva ;)
LOL MamaBear!!!!! I LOVE your "bridge"!!!!!!!
hi again! (((((((((((((Lloyd Bridges!!))))))))))))))
Smaller, I think so. Someone else is actually arranging it. I think it might have fallen through. I play at a harp camp every year at Camp Bighorn in Plains. You should come!
hey Mama, i just uploaded a "new" song to Soundclick.com: a 10+ minute meditative medley for FREE download: www.soundclick.com/m arkbowers
thanks Smaller!!!! ((((((((((((BABBL ER))))))))))) Thanks for recognizing me!
hey Babbler! good to see u. long time, no see.
hey mark! how's it going? :)
Mamabear - you are such a hoot!!! lol! :D
Thanks Mark!!! Can't wait to hear it!!!! You rock!
good. did u see my note to Mama about a "new" song that's available for download?
hi eva!! welcome back Babs!
MamaBear, you have a wonderful giving quality; I hope that you advocate for yourself as well as you do for others. By the way, I loved Lloyd Bridges on the Seinfeld episodes. And I looooove his sons, especially Jeff, who is a genius.
Harpjane! of course!!!! just let me know when and where! We'll have a Montana Babble Convention at the same time. For all 2 of us!
just updated my *outfit* :)
yes, I did, Mark. Is it not on your CD?
define "outfit"...
no, it didn't make the cut because it was totally spontaneous
heh, it means my icon, mark
i c
I LOVE spontaneous!!!!! *wink*
which one is it, Mark? One Day Medley?
mab - you are too sweet ;)
Evanidine, in montana outfit means the big ol' pick-up truck that you have
spontaneous music = may contain "mistakes"
Mamabear, I second what Mab just said!! :D xxx
heh, i figure your outfit is usually what you are wearing...but since you guys can only see my icon, it works as my daily outfit...hehe
yeah, the Medley
mmm, love those op's! flew through 'em. :)
*mamabear humbly looks down* thanks to you too Babbler for the kind words.... my life is in such turmoil right now and you guys are the best medicine! I appreciate it immensely...
I can't do this anymore without a tiny nap. Baby won't sleep much longer so I'll wake up when she does. See y'all later.
Mmmmmm just had my sweeties delivered.....Haribo sour (why I don't know!!?) and Minstrels....piggy piggy piggy
Awww Mamabear! I think you're great too!!! Did you need to vent about your turmoil?! Sometimes that helps. We'll listen!
sweet 'cat nap' Minski...
Mama come share my sweeties and we can hibernate together...
I'll look out for you next time I have a big dream, Mamabear, and I'll come and give you a hug like I did last time! ((((xxx)))) : )
Mama - I second what mab, Babs & smaller said... anyone we can 'take out' for you?? I have a violin case...
see you later, Minski :) Good to see you again!
And I'll help, Eastern!
bye minski :)
Righto EB! Mamabear.... I have access to SEVERAL guns and lots of ammo
LOTS of ammo
help with the pe5 that follows the 8?
um... my violin case actually has my violin in it - but since it's been so long since I've played, I figured that would inflict ALOT of pain on anyone who had to listen!! LOL!
...to compensate for the poor aiming ability
mmmmm. ......... don't tempt me! thank you all for your concern!
must report - I heard from Mark and gave him a lead that he might not have had. thought that he might be a fit into two immediate opportunities I knew about but not too be.. wish that it would have turned out better.
LOL EB!
tbear - Sounds good, but I'm not sure what your "sweeties" are!!!!!!
joey - it was a nice try... 8 D you never know if you don't try!!
and while we're at it, the ph 7/44?
joey... "A" for your effort!
smaller - i'll never disagree with you again... but - yer cracking me up w/ your ammo & subsequent comments!!
curtseys but hides head in sorrow for not succeeding.
hursh - ph + 5 other letters... : )
EB, I wonder if that tactic will work on Dr God to get him to allow the words I want
hurshy - pe5 - spanish guy's name
might makes right! it's the american way
hurshy - real clue this time... ph + rodent + "if you don't succeed, ___, ___ again" (but drop the "t")
why would a spanish guy's name be allowed? As in VOTE for PE***!!! Still haven't entered a word yet - haven't decided .... should really get back to work anyway...
smaller - oaty. it's a word. i swear!
Mama....minstrels used to be called Treets...they're like bigger chocolate M&Ms and Sour Haribo are disgusting jellified shapes that give you a tummy ache... hey mama, also I'm watching a programme all about bears on tv at the mo....Aren't we gorgeous?
wow, what a word. i'm having trouble with the spanish guy...
Mark - I'm listening to your Medley. Very moving! :')
hurshy -- have you ever visited south of the border? you see signs for the mexican guy for MILES before you get there...
thank you, EB! peay should be a word today too. pea + y, this split pea soup tastes very peay
oh, got it - started with the wrong p
smaller - yup! peay...a definite word... *hiding from ammo*
Eastern Blue, good girl. I'm glad we have an understanding
EB, incidentally - where do you think dr. god lives? no reason for asking. just a thought
this is so embarrassing.... i have the website up, mark, how do I play it?
smaller - I would assume somewhere in Central Time Zone...(not that it narrows it down too much!!)
I have a hunch (only a hunch) that Dr. God lives somewhere in the Central Time Zone since the puzzle flips at midnite here.....
every little bit helps. someone has to stand up for these dissed words....i mean...um...never mind...you didn't hear anything
*shivers in corner* *whispers* smaller is starting to scare me...
Mama, there should be some small sideways triangles nearby, press to play
there there, my pet. not to worry. smaller will take care of it mwah ha ha ha ha (that was an evil laugh)
*hides behind Babble grid*
eastern blue, besides, you're only saying that to cover your bottom Dr. God, if you're listening it was all EB's idea
Mama, depending on your connection speed (dialup or fast) pick lo-fi or hi-fi...and then click to play
*hides behind EB*
*hides behind babbler* this is fun
smaller - ammo be da*$%-ed... That was to defend Mamabear against her tormenters...NOT to go after Dr_God...creator of all that is wonder... so there!
thanks for the heads up, Mark. I've been meaning to get back into meditation. This ought to get me started again. : )
Smaller.....ur not at it again? Intimidating fellow babblers! Really.....!!
Smaller!! We're hiding from YOU!!!
<hides behind smaller>....(hopefully you're not actually smaller than me)
you notice how I am staying in my corner, me thinks that smaller has had way too much caffeine today
...oops... wonderful!... *hides behind mamabear* 'cuz no one would hurt mamabear!!
mark!! you're on the wrong side!! LOL! :D
missing the last dr 4/7?
babbler - I know, that's why it was fun! lol! tbear- *hangs head in remorseful guilt* yes I am but only b/c it's so fun
doh!....
Hey smaller ! *slips smaller another pro plus and sits back to watch the festivities*
*runs to join EB behind Mamabear*
Eastern Blue! gasp! WIMP!
done!
So how come I seem to be the only one facing her up.....and I'm just a baby bear
<crossing Atlantic to get onto correct side>....
Mia - you're going to kick yourself - your laundry dr4/7 on the washing line.....
*stands out in the open* take yer best shot smaller....
Hi Folks! The grid doesn't seem so bad today :)
congrats, hurshy!! :D:D:D:D:D xxxx
OF COURSE!
Good for you hurshy.....still got 17 to find here !!
it's not bugzy - only took me an hour and a quarter!
hi Bugzy :) the grid today is a dream!
thanks. :)
hi bugzy...granandan...
I smacked my forehead when I wasted ages looking for it, Mia! lol! : )
tbear - b/c I just got the granadan backing! that's good for another 2 rounds. granadan trumps mamabear. b/c grandmothers are higher in the hierarchical fondness
hiya eb
Hi hurshy, Babbler, EB... and everyone :) Even the vowels aren't too tough!! Hallelujah!
can anyone please give me a clue for the fe 5/18
Smaller, I reckon even granadan wouldn't condone you suggesting you'd take out Dr G for not allowing words you want!
true Babbler, but granadan PLEASE
Ok smaller I'm off to sharpen my claws (read.....give up the laptop to my revolting oldest child) back to sort you out in 30 mins....lol
ruthy - fe 5 - poopies!
ruthy - fe5/18 looks like word for poo, but with a vowel missing.
bye tbear...
woohoo tbear!!!!
see you later, tbear : )
my last d is do 5/14 .. any help?
ok I'll be good. ....but only b/c i'm going to look for more words that should be allowed
do5/14 - just like your other do5/14 but ends either in R or S
do 4/6 - plural or more of do 4/6
Too bad proper names aren't allowed - there are some good ones today... Sephora, Opry....and almost Oprah!
Good grief - dont look t me for ethics. Im the one who likes to walk into a pub, talk about politics, football and whther hanging should be legalised - then watches the fur fly from a safe vantage spot in the ladies room....
*looks at clock to see how long Smaller can be good*
thanks eastern blue and babbler
ahhhhhhh...... soothing, Mark - just what I needed... thanks! and sorry to have caused such a ruckus with the ammo and all...... geez..... a bear says their life is in turmoil and all he** breaks loose!!!!! LOL
more of do 4/6, that's the one EB, cheers! didn't even know that was a word
Granadan!!! I say!!
Bugzy- how badly would you like them to be allowed?
Mama - we just wanted to see you smile 8 D
Mamabear - at least it wasn't a film noir !! LOL!
*EVERYBODY DUCK!!!*
*quack*
thx Mama...more to come soon i hope
*watches smaller's ammo whizzing across the sky missing everyone*
Smaller - I don't know... does this involve anyone's Italian relatives, getting things allowed?? ;)
Mamabear... glad you're at least feeling a little better! Babbler- LOL!!
Bugzy, I'm not at liberty to disclose.
*empties violin case*
does the na 5/10 build from anything?
Smaller, will this one be big enough?
*EB starts playing her violin* SCHREECH...
Please REFRESH!!!!
not if it is the one relating to nostrils
oop, not to worry, found it :)
*flies over to Mamabear / Lloyd Bridges (first class) for Babbler-style splendiferous, wonderful, sparkly, glittery, gorgeous, squeezy tight bear hug*
....or a horse's head in someone's bed... or a toll booth??
*claps hands* A happy Mamabear!!
OOOooooo, Eastern! That's quite a weapon you have there! Thank you for demonstrating.
no Mia, it's totally on it's own. Rhymes with female horses. (plural)
Yay Mama bear!!! Granadan - perfect!!!
oops! too slow! : )
Bugzy - That's old school. We've got some fresh tactics.
a toll booth in someone's bed, bugzy???? wow.. you're quite the nasty one
Eastern Blue.. Woohoo! (oh and note the rhyme!)
ROTFL mamabear - I had a mate at school who needed a toll booth in the bed... couldve made a fortune *slaps self round the head for being bitchy and runs pin into foot of doll hanging over screen*
Hey mamabear, I've known some people who could have made a good living by putting a tollbooth in the bedroom!! LOL
missing a pe 5/ 16 and a pe 6/ 24. i'm determined to finish this grid!
Oh wow - it bleeps out the word for female dog!
LOL! Granadan!
Do we know the same people, Granadan?? :)
It sounds like it bugzy!
pe 5/16 - we wish you a ______ christmas...just switch the first letter
pe5/16 - I think this is what they call the equivalent of cider made from pears.
wine made from pears
lol you guys!
pe6/24 - foot + insect
ta-dah!
ah no, i already have that pe 6/24
yayyyy!!! hiya! :)
clue for ho5/14 - the one after the ho6 that means hours ? Please and thanks!
Hey anj!
Mia - pe + word that means late
hoisted on ones ----
pe6 - hoist on your own pe6
pe 6/24 - cats & dogs are your pe _ _ (minus the s) + opposite of soft (minus the h)
Howdy : )
rhymes with your other ho5/14
ho 5/14 - large crowd (homonym of another ho5)
You know what's even funnier???? Because I am so tired, and so distracted mentally by so many things... I was reading "toll booth", I was typing "toll booth", but I was thinking "phone booth"..... didn't even realize what my "toll booth in the bed" was implying!!!!
*looks at clock* so Anj, how many left to find? ; )
oh and refresh.... my Bridges is back
LOL Mamabear!!
LOL Mamabear!!! Did you get my mega hug?
ANJ! Didn't see you come in..... good afternoon to ya!
lol @ Mama
Mama - tee hee hee!!!
...last 15... Had an extended break with my beak in the tabloids...
Afternoon Mamabear : )
Thanks, Hurshy! That's 218 and I'm gone. Anyone need a clue before I go? By the way Smaller, I'm in Idaho, so if you have that Montana Babble Convention I could be there representing the potato state.
yes I did Babbler - thank you - am STILL enjoying it *kiss on cheek for Babbler*
DONE !!!!
congrats, CH !! :)
bye ch!!
...then serve when cool... : ) lol! Yay Karys : D

congrats Karys & ch!!
ty...ty...feels good !!!
Ch1212- woohoo we're up to 3! and congrats on finishing!
Mama, this one's a pussycat. I found 200 without the list and i'm trying not be unbearably smug about that... ...and failing ROFLMAO!!! : ' D
Mamabear, this grid really is a dream. Try it!!!! :D
..... with a warm glass of milk?
LOL Anj!!!!!!!
*slaps anj round head with wet kipper and scowls over the 80 left*
...Granadan, any marie rose sauce with that?? ; )
granadan, I had to hit BJ's list around when I had 80 left.
only the best homemade here - double brandy and a pinch of paprika in it!
8 words to go and they're all ta words. how did that happen?!
which says a lot, cos I'm not supersonic in the least!!! that's how easy this grid is!! I even finished while it was still DAYLIGHT!!! and I found the 9 and didn't even realise!! it really is a gorgeous grid. :D
give 'em to us, Mia. :)
Just found the first gy4/8, and now I can't get that stupid Jabberwocky poem out of my head!!! "Twas brillig and the slithy toves..." Arrgh!
Mia - before Big Brother!!! lol!
I have always threatened to name a puppy Granadan Slithy Tove
As long as it's not Bandersnatch, Granadan!! :)
you and me both Bugzy !!
...one notes, however, that Disable seems to reject Gimble and Wabe, those gems of common english, yea verily...
LOls... Now THAT really is a good one.
lol which ones do you want? :P
ta 5/ 12 ta 5/ 14 ta 6/ 24 ta 4/ 4 ta 5/ 10 ta 6/ 18 HELP! lol
Bugzy, Anj - I had that on my brain today too! :)
Ch. Frumious Bandersnatch, the ... what breed?? ... sounds like a schnauzer to me!!
one is to dawdle....
Mini smooth dachshunds... hence the slithy tove... always sounded like something low to the ground to me
ta5/14 - rhymes with vessel you find on a canal. then the plural.
ta5/12 rhymes with the last name of aging French 1960s movie star Brigitte Ba****
maybe will dive in later..... must really get to work now - can't seem to get anything done as long as this site is open *mamabear scratches forehead in wondered perplexity* toodles! *hugs to all*
Slithy tove would definitely be a mini doxie! Perfect!!
Bye mama...take care!!
ta4/4 - you know cards you read to tell the future? drop the last letter
laters Mama : )
Bye Mamabear!! (((((((((((((xxxxxxxxxxx)))))) ))))))
just missing ta 5/ 10 and ta 6/ 18 i'm so excited because tmrw i'll be on the village elders list for the first time :)
I must feed hounds and go to bed. farting lapwarmer needs her pills and eyedrops. Night all *breathes deep and prepares to minister to temporarily paralysed farting lapwarmer....*
ta4/4 - road covering + e then plural
ta5/10 - road covering (double the consonant) + e then plural
got those babbler
granadan, LOL!!
bye granadan!
time for telly!!!! Big Brother eviction, then double bill Desperate Housewives!! woooooo! see you all tomorrow! :D
Bye Granadan (and farting lapwarmer too)!
She'll be stinking out the screen again next week when her crate rest stint is finished. Never fear

Anj - how Jonathon Ross might say flattery
Congrats Mia : ) | | *hints towrd last post : D* | V
Greetings again, fellow Babblers!
or ph + rodent + type of bread minus last letter
congrats mia!
Yay mia! Hi Jera :)
ohmygod what a bizarro word!
Welcome back Jera!
LMAO Babs - got that...now what the h*ll does it mean???
But an excellent clue! Thanks, Babbler!!
don't know.... don't care!! lol! :D
Beelzebub: "A kinship group constituting an intermediate division in the primitive structure of the Hellenic tribe or phyle, consisting of several patrilinear clans, and surviving in classical times as a territorial subdivision in the political and military organization of the Athenian state" Anj: Cheers...
Mia, how about the ph7/36 & the py6/27, please?
yeah but would you have got it if I'd posted the def.?
sounds like an anthropological term, eh?
Well, of course... everybody knows THAT definition! *rolls eyes at bizarro Babble word*
Hi everyone, need help with D words: last da4/5 and last da5/14, de5/12 and 2nd de4/5 and de6/24.
Une, "An exogamous subdivision of the tribe, constituting two or more related clans" is the anthropologocal clue according to Dic.com. Babs, Google is a wonderful thing...
ph + 4th vowel + ra 4/4
Anj, grrrr... ; )
hmm...should have been an 'i' in there somewhere...
can someone please give me a clue for the sy 4/8
py 6/27 is a plural of the py 5/16 - py plus past tense of run.
2 more to go... ep5/16 and pe5/16, please ?
sy 4/8, all the bottom row except e.
pe 5/16 is pear wine. sounds like a guys name
Ruthy, sounds like a short version of a nasty disease...
do you have the ep 5/14? it's the same just a different constanant on the end.
thank u
LOL... I had that py, just in the wrong spot... *hums while looking for py4*
Yay... done with P's!
Found em! Thanks Mia !!! Yay for me being all done! :)
will someone be kind enough to help me finish the D words: I posted a request at 3:07, thanks
Oops, not done with P's... need ph7/36, please?
Also need help with 2nd do4/6 and 2nd dr5/16
da 4/5 and 5/14 - What you go on with your boyfriend. and past tense
de 5 /12 - the de _ _ _ of the college (admissions...)
yay Bugzy! : D
2nd do - sounds like a name you'd call a geeky person, but with a p instead of the k...
Kristinarose, thanks but have those two
Peri.... last da4/5 = going out on a Saturday nite and last da5/14 = past tense de5/12 = plural of de4 before it (head of part of a college, also a guy's name) 2nd de4/5 = begins a letter to a friend de6/24 = French for within
peri : de6/24 = de + French for within
Oh poo... spent so much time on a long list it's now obsolete... sorry, I try!
2nd dr 5/16 - the dr _ _ _ of society (low lifes..) rhymes with what you hold beer in for a frat party
I'm working on my circus pix for friday....it's so much fun!!
Did I miss someone helping me with ph7/36??
My volcano tomorrow will be kid art!
Jera - ph + or5/10
ph 7 - ph + to 'talk' (a famous person is known as a great _____)
Jera - that's the best kind!!
Thanks, someone mst have helped me before... I had it but forgot to put it on my list... thanks! *takes a deep breath & dives back into puzzle*
...and finish, and breath : ) ...woot! : D
any help w/ the ar 5/16??
Yay Anj!!!
Jera, Bugzy and EasternBlue, thanks so much. I am still missing the 3rd da4/5 and do4/8. I could kick myself sometimes for missing the obvious but I am going cross eyed and already wear glasses. hehe
Congrats to Anj!!!
do 4/8 is an alternative spelling of the do 5 above it.
peri - you might play 'da_ _ _' in a bar (sharp, pointy things)
congrats Anj!!
da4/5 the third one can be something thrown at a board
ar5/16 - add three letters of a word meaning away. Think of Jason and ?
Haz and EB, thank, D's and A's are done. Need help with ep5/16.
Nevermind, found the ep5/16, need help with 2nd ep5/14
ep + the '____' of your car covers the engine (minus an 'o')
ep 5/14 - add a type of poem
hi all - can i have a clue foe the de 6/24 please
2nd ep 5/14 - ep + lyrical poem
Thanx haz1558!!! Got a very late start and have to go away again in 45 minutes. Soooo much to do sooooo little time....
thanks EB and Haz, E's are done
de 6 - de + lots of Mr. Quayle
de 6/24 - add either two Mr Quayles or two desperate comic book characters. Or think of it as French for within.
congrats, Anj!!! :D
thanks all
missing a gr5/14 have the one college students live on also gr5/18 and first gr4/6
Have to go pick up the kiddies .... Enjoy the rest of Bridge Day! (Mine's the Ambassador Bridge that connects Detroit and Windsor) See you all tomorrow! :)
bye Bugzy!
gr 5/14 - have you got the plural for gr4/6?
can anyone give me a clue for the pe 8/60
gr 5/18 - when you complete the babble grid, each box gr_____ out...
The gr4/6 is shortened form for your parent's mother
gr 4/6 - what you might call your 'Gramma'
The pe 8/60 builds off the pe6/24 - add type of bread minus letter
Afternoon (or evening or morning), all. I'm close to finishing, otherwise I would have been begging for clues much earlier than this. This seems to be a fairly (dare I say) easy grid. On that note, I have to ask for a clue for the Pe8-60.
gr 5/14 - plural of what you might call your gramma!!
Hi Judi - make more effort with your pe6/24 ; )
hey judi! :) :) still yeoman rand after all these days? :) :) :)
Haz and EB, thanks again, what would I do without you?
missing an ho6/27 have the past tense of crowd
Yeah, Hurshy. I'm unspeakably lazy. I'll see what I can do to update my icon.
ho6 - if you didn't actually graduate from a college, but you did something impressive, they might give you an ho8 degree (not in puzzle). now take out the on.
no no, it makes me so happy! :)
hurshy, can't quite figure out your clue, I know the type of degree you are referring to but just can't get the word :(
it starts with "what an ho5 to meet you, mr. president!"
hurshy, figured it out, thanks
*note: all clues are strictly pragmatic and do not reflect the political views of playbabble.com or the clue giver.
hursh - you could be referring to mr president...our fellow babble player!!
Hey, Hurshy... is this icon okay?
true
well, i'd love to say i know what it is, judi, but i'm afraid i don't.
Hurshy - stinggggggg%* - I'm back. Finished sanding for now. Have to wait for more mud to dry.
what's stinggggggggg%* mean?
Hurshy, I guess you're too young. It's Sherman and Peabody (they used to be part of the Rocy and Bullwinkle Show).
Judi, I remember Rocky and Bullwinkle, You must be old like me 8)
how old are you, judi? and are they anything like pinky and the brain? :) (i'm 28).
Sigh. 41.
i've seen a bit of rocky and bullwinkle, but not all the subsidiary characters i guess.
Lol - never mind - maybe Mr Pres. understands.
Judi - Remember the Way Back Machine?
Don't feel bad Judi, I am older than you
dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink dink... (1000 points to whoever correctly guesses what i'm doing)
Faerie - of course! And Dudley Dooright, and Fractured Fairytales, Boris and Natasha, etc.
Monkey Typing?
nooo....
Hurshy I have told you before, your clues are just super. thanks
oh, joey (blush blush)
No luck with the Pe8-60. Clues for dummies, please.
Hey, it looks like I am still missing a D word: 2nd dr7, help please
Hurshy :) what's with all the dinking?????
judi, the earlier clue was attempting to get you to realize that the ending is "if at first you don't succeed..."
Judy - pe8 refers to people who insist on the literal meaning of words
hurshy, I agree withjoey, you are a GREAT cluer! very creative!
peri, i assume you mean 4/7? the bitter stuff left at the bottom of a cup (singular)
ok speedfreak sam you are scary - you're 9, how did you know that? i hope just from clicking the ?
nevermind, found the d word I needed, It was a singular this time and not a plural. need to take a break from begging for clues. bbl
oh smaller (blush blush blush)
Am I building off of the Ped6-24 or the Pet6-24?
judi, the ped
Yep, that was the one hurshy.
nobody can guess about the dinking? not even our genius of a speedfreak sam?
alright fine, here's a hint: chinese food.
judi the Pe 80 ==foot worker-ry
re. my 9 old genius ... don't want to blow my son's cover completely, but his dad does sometimes join in the fun
Got it, finally. Geesh. Some words just seem to wear camo.
oh, well that's ok then. :)
hi can i get a clue for the se 5/14 (the first one) thanks
se 5/14 add a buffalo-like animal that begins with a silent letter, then change the vowel.
Well, I spent so much freakin time on the Pe8 that I have no time to complete the D's. So, I'm packing it in with a total of 210 words. Only 8 short. Guess I'm not a total loser. (no rebuttal necessary).
hint #2 re the dinking: it's a song.
judi, judi, how can you give up with only 8 left??
evenin all!! :D
Theme from Jeopardy, Hurshy?
thanks
back for a bit...need a clue for the pr 7/40, please
Happy hour calls. And I have gift certificates for $20 for the place we're going. Free booze & eats. Can't beat that.
no, judi, that would be "doo doo doo doo doo doo doo..." and also wouldn't incorporate hint#1.
pr 7/40 before tune hi evanadine!
*giggles* Hurshy said "doo doo".
finishing babble is SO much more satisfying than happy hour.
lol - come on, who's got the dinking - with those two clues it should be easy.
Maybe on your planet, Hurshy, but not on mine. Gotta go now. Must empty bladder to make room for free beer.
sigh. i was playing "chopsticks".
hurshy, a little more, please
chic - the first three letters mean before, the last four are an so4
tu, hurshy. who is making up these words anyway?
the great computer in the sky.
must be evil genius...
who likes mythbusters? and who likes the clip where adam says, "i'm not sure i'd say jamie's an evil genius. i'm not sure he's evil and i'm not sure he's a genius."
Back to finish!
oh dear, i should go, i have to compose a test for the morrow.
bunny....such a good look for you honey.... :)
lol, it's a bridge...
5 words to go... can I get a GO JERA???
Don't tell me....it's your bridge...haha
Go Jera...go Jera...go Jera...
Hello everyone. I've been going through the various chat and saw it's bridge day? ....so I thought I'd throw in a bridge and ask how everyone is doing with today's puzzle?
Hello, and it's not to bad.

thank yu sandr!! do you have the ad 5/14?
i have four left can someone please give me the clues for pe 6/24 pe 8/60 pr 6/24 and pr 7/36
MaryJo - ad 5/14 - very swift at doing something...
ad 5/14 a very highly skilled person
thank you EB and Bestmarks!! Got is right away!
ruthy - your pr 6 & 7 rhymes with your first da 5....
pe 6 & 8 - on a necklace you might have a 'pe _ _ _ _ _' (remove the first n) pe 8 is the 'act of doing' the pe 6...
ruthy ure pe is a person who is concerned alot
Any clues for se 7/28 and se 8/45.. Please
Mary jo- a type of blade on a knife and past tense
Hi all - bigger grid today - just wish I'd logged on earlier! No way I'll finish tonight -got 5 littlies to get breakfast for tomorow.
HI snowy!!! goes kinda quickly actually
snowy - lots of words , but not too bad...
Hi Snowy, I thought the same thing but it seems to be going quickly so far
Snowy, long time no see, sorry I have been playing but not chatting lately, too little time. Mary se 7 and 8 are jagged edges
There may be hope then! LOL
does it build off the 4 infront of it?
hi Trotters
Hi Trotters Happy new Year! Are you well?
mary - sort of...double the consonant in the middle...
happy new year to you too. Very well thankyou, but haven't seen my two little ones since weekend before xmas. Youngest was 1 yrs old on 7th jan, oldest will be 4 on 19th March so hope to be there then. How are your babies?
Hi Eastern - how's the weather at your end of the pond?
Thank you EB , Trotters and smaller...
We've been having fun here tonight. The 3 yar old choked on a piece of sausage and as i was pouring drinks i didn't notice very quickly. slapped her back and dislodged the piece, thank goodness. She looked at me and said " well I 'most died then nana!"
Have to sneak in later and get the last 13? How many hours left?
LOL bunny 7 hours left love your bridge!
Snowy, no!! scary!! Is it possible to do a heimlich on a child? (probably spelt wrong!)
!!!! Snowy!!!! that is some excitement!
Trotters the twins were 6 on 9th Jan. It was a good weekend as it was my 29th wedding anniversary on the 8th!
Trotters - it is snowing, wind is blowing...my side of the pond isn't too nice today! ; )
snowy - thank goodness they're o.k.!!
Snowy, January's as bad for you as for me - son was 30 on the 6th, baby 1 on the 7th, daughter (baby's mum) 33 on the 22nd!
I'd have spent too much time worrying about breaking her ribs! A good old fashioned thump ion the back worked and she was actually totally unconcerned by the whole thing! She got coca cola for a treat & all was well with the world - she actually asked for more sausages lol!
I fibbed, to close to quit!
Eastern, I wish I could be in New York when it snows! My daughter, son in law and brother were there 5 years ago in February (they didn't invite me). They loved it - throwing snowballs in central park. I suppose if you live there it's not quite as thrilling!
Ooh! Snowy, I have three year old twins. Tell me it gets better in a few years!
I'm not near the NYC...western NY is nice too - just a cold, blustery day today...
...and not enough snow (or the right kind) to make snowballs!!
oh bunny it does - mind you they are my granddaughters so I think they are perfect! Loads of plusses with twins. I just feel they always make other people smile and isn't that a gorgeous thing? Even now people smile at them and other peoples twins make me smile too! The hard work IS worht it!
Bunny, OH DEAR, are you in trouble. It gets worse and worse as they get older, then they become adults and if you're lucky, settle down and become normal people then you can relax THEN they present you with grandchildren and it all starts again!!! lol
can anyone please give me a clue for the pr 7/36 still cant find it
I had just gotten my youngest in school when these two surprised us! I love em to death, they are great...but....they conspire, mentally, to torment me! Whew, great. Thanks Trotters, I feel SO MUCH BETTER NOW!!!!!!
and i need a pe 6/24 its not the one with the clue about a necklace please
Eastern, it's cold here too but very, very damp and dismal and grey, that's the North of England for you in January! can't wait for spring.
LOL Trotters my two left home and 14 months later in 2000 I had 3 grandchildren, 2 weddings ,a graduation and a huge christening to deal with! All parents of teenagers take note give VERY explicit contraception talks!
pe 6/24 - rhymes with a mean name you might call a 'dummy' pr 7/36 - Dasher, da 5 -er, Pr _ _ _ _ _, vixen... instead of er..make an 's'
Pr7/36 - rhymes with da6/24 and means the same thing only more showy. pe6 - hoist by your own pe****
All I'm missing is the tr 5/18, any hints?
Snowy, my contraception talks must have been very explicit, I almost gave up on grandchildren. My daughter didn't produce until she was 29 and my son is still dithering (his girlfriend is very broody) and he lives close by so waiting with baited breath! See Bunny, we love it really!
Hello everyone!
All of mine will be teenagers at one time...13,13,17,18,& 19, and four of them are girls!
Bunny, I can't see a tr5/18 - tr5/10 is cross-country?
hi Niamh!
grrr, that was an abbreviation, thought they were not allowed. Got it and done! I better get dinner ready. Back tomorrow!
Bunny!!! 4 teenage girls, OMG are you in trouble. lol. Don't worry, teenage boys just love their mothers!!!!
hi all i just started babble, and finding words that are not allowed ,words starting with scr etc,any clues why please?
sorry, asked for the wrong clue....ty anyway!
My son was the father of twins 2 months after his 19th birthday - I thought I'd never stiop crying and then the babies arrived 8 weeks early. But he has been a fantastic father - he had to grow up really quickly, he was dithering about what to do with his life and then the problem was taken out of his hands! He sorted himself out really quickly and I am so proud of him now I could burst!
omado - welcome1 Babble uses the Enable Dictionary, so only words it recognises are allowed. It's weird but wonderful so stick with it!
bye bunny...have a good night!
Snowy, isn't it wonderful when they turn out good? I'm so proud of mine and just hope my grandchildren will be the same but, whatever, we will always love them to bits!
Bunny you deserve a medal! Take up yoga - quickly! LOL Well I think now all you can do for your kids is to love them & teach them to respect & love others. They can't go so far wrong then.
thanks for ur help everyone i need the other pr 7 not the one that rhymes with the da 5 please can some one help so i can finish this grid
It's just great to be the subersive granny that mine was - great fun breaking all the rules!
pr 7 /40 - suffix meaning "before" + diddy/aria/tune
pr7 - before the tune
ruthy... think before + music
Omado... welcome to babble. oh yeah some words should soooo be in there.
hi snowyowl thanks for the welcome,im using the chambers official scrabble words book.!! ive managed 79 words so far, how many is in there ? yhanks

night ruthy :)
Subversive granny, love it - I don't see mine often enough but at least when I do see them I'm just good fun - Ellie calls me gwandma cool! lol
Omado - 218.... If you look to the right - under "Friends of Babble" there is a link to "Babblers Anonymous"...click on that & then the "General" tab to see the daily stats/2nd letter list (posted by fellow player Brandy Jack)...
EB - too late!!! Omado - for example "gonfe" should be a word as in "oh Eastern Blue, if you leave, don't be gonfe too long because we'll miss you"
Goodnight Ruth. Omado, we all use a2z wordfinder on line - it's very good.
smaller -ROFLMAO!!
there are 218 omado - there is more information - including a 1st 2 letters stast list on babblers anonymous. Look to the right of this page and at the bottom of the list is the babblers anonymous site, click on general when you get there and you can access the stats from there. Youll also get a tatste of the babblers you will meet in the chat log- have fun!
night ruthy!
Omado - recommend that you open a second browser/window so you can see both the list & the grid! Also - grid changes everynight at Midnight CST (U.S. timezone)...
thanks everyone for the welcome and help
Snowy, is that the Severn Bridge? Mine's the old swing bridge over the Manchester ship canal.
Can anyone help with the PH's?
omado... ask anything anytime, we're very helpful sorta
ph 7/36 ph + vowel + r 4/4
...mostly
Well all - happy babbling... I don't know if I'll be back later to chat...going to make some dinner & spend time w/ my hubby!! G'Night all (unless I return....then it'll be see ya later!!)
...ok less-than-halfly
night Blue
bye EB!!
Eastern - have fun, goodnight
Great crowd here omado - feel free to ask for help - the only rules are be nice and don't post words in the log! LOL. There are some really interesting things & loads of very funny things at babblers anon so it is worth a visit - you do not have to be a member to access it by the way.
Night Eastern have a lovely evening
Hi again..... back for a few minutes, still haven't started the grid..... I see the bullets are still flyin!!!! And I started the whole thing!!! I should be shot.... oops. .... wrong thing to wish for in here... *mamabear runs behind a tree for cover*
ph7/44 - ph+sun god+attempt
ph 7/44 ph + 3 letter rodent + 3 letter word for "give it a go" (those 3 letter words overlap eachother)
Trotters - yes its the good old Severn Bridge - well the newest one really! I never thought of anything romantic or funny -just thought of the one that lets me escape the madhouse i live in now & again!
I've never been across it Snowy - love South Wales, especially down by St David's but don't need to cross the bridge to get to it from here.
Mamabear, Hi - brilliant "Bridge". What bullets? (or am I being stupid?) lol.
St Davids is great & the coastline is so lovely there. My husbands relatives stay at a great B&B in Solva (its on a farm) when they come from Norfolk twice a year. Am thinking of booking us in when I manage to get a break form babysitting- in about 10 years time I think!
Hi MAMA!
We used to camp down at St Davids (near St Justinians) every year in the late 70's, early 80's, lots and lots of happy memories with the children. Went back 3 years ago and rented a cottage - will certainly be back again!
hey all... back again, escaping fom kids tv...
Don't Enable know about squirrels nests then?
Hi Jera - How are you?
Thanks Trotter!!!! Glad you recognized me!!! I was referring to EB's post at 5:11pm - it was something that was started earlier this afternoon...
hello Jera!
Hi Snowy!!!! Beautiful bridge!!

Paul69 here thank Jera for your clue earlyer for de 6/24 i was about to pull my hair out lol p.s all done : )
glad i could help. jacula... did you get your fireworks???
congrats!!
TY MAMA it links Wales & England - not the only way to go -but it is beautiful when the river is full -just a big expanse of mud when the tide is out.!
Snowy, no, no squirrels nest! Mamabear, I wish I could go back and look but it's time for me to go to my rest, got to go to work in the morning and it's 11.30 pm here now - goodnight all.
so are we just chillin' or does anyone need help?
good nite Trotters!!! sleep well and dream deep
night Trotters!
sweet dreams, trotters!
I haven't started it yet!!! LOL
Sweet Dreams Trotters - See you again soon I hope.
i wasn;t sure if i'd finish since i ran away from home this afternoon to go to the movies...
Mama- really you haven't started the grid?! you are just tooo cute!
Been trying to get to the cinema for a fortnight myself - have now missed 2 films at a small local cinema - am going to have to give in & visit a multiplex I think
i used to never go tot he movies, except once or twice a year, like to harry potter movies or something with swesome scenery... but i'm punch-drunk with freedom since gwyd started pre-school & i often take off for the afternoon... went to see hoodwinked today & plant o see casanova very soon...
No, I haven't. Saw the # of words this morning and thought it was too big... came on at lunchtime and got caught up in chat but then at the end of chat asked and was told the grid was kind... but still haven't taken the plunge. What did you see at the movies, Jera? I wish I could just do that ..... but they frown on that kind of thing in the office!!!
Oh those stolen moments are soooo sweet are'nt they. I managed to have a whole 2 hours alone in town today -it was great! As my husband took early retirement due to ill health 7 years age( he's 59) and then I babysit for my children to work, I am rarely alone. I love it when they've all gone off somewhere!
hoodwinked... it's kinda like a fractured fairy tale... the real story behind the little red riding hood tale... very entertaining... i even enjoyed the previews which i usually hate...
lol he did not retire a 7 years of age! That should have read ago!
Well, I think I'm going to leave work now. Maybe I'll be back on when I get home if I ever decide if I'm gonna babble or not!!!! Have a good nite..... *hugs*
{{{mamabear}}}
see you later mamabear (*hugs*)
(((((((((MAMA)))))))))) take care - see you again soon!

sometimes i'm on, sometimes the clever won't come...

don't be too hard on yourself Jera, you were very helpful... I however, am not so great at clues... I get all excited about being able to help that I look at the wrong words or make no sense at all or do something stupid

Well, I'm halfway through and have been at it about an hour if that helps you make your decision. It is not too bad. Sorry you're still under the weather...long time for you right?
desparate man from a comic strip??? how about desparate woman from a word game
Rosalind, don't know who the desperate man might be. Can you give us the name of the comic without giving away the answer?
yes, kristinc - it started Christmas Eve nite. Felt better this past weekend, went back to choir rehearsal last nite, maybe the singing irritated it? I don't know. Didn't go to the other choir rehearsal tonite..... and I did start this thing. I am committed - or maybe I SHOULD be...... LOL
de6 - rhymes w/ plural of body style of automobile - 4 door s * * * *

Hello every1..I'm finally back. Only 6 words to go. All te's..pray for me...I need the help. I may resort to AtoZ. I'm sooooo tired. What a sucky day :{ Power outage..dog sick..million dollar trip to the vet...flooding..freezing roads..now it's snowing like a banshee. This grid is my punishment and my salvation. God bless BABBLE.
Oops, I meant ta's.
Hi gramma!! What a day!!! Enjoy the escape that is Babble!! I love your icon - I like people who think outside the box!!!!
34 so far kristinc!!!! I think I am regretting so far also! Oh well.... onward I go.
Ty, Mamabear. I try :D
Hi all -- short stop in before storytime :) gramma -- t's are all easy -- got em in about 5 mins Mama -- in the 20 mins that it took Kristianna to get her bath, I found all the R's through the Y's except for the 10 I located before turning in this AM, you'll do fine ;)
Time for stories -- be back in about 30 mins -- see you then :)
My cheerleader!!! (((GW)))) I'm not quite as certain as you are however!
Could anyone give me a clue to the re9 please?

yw
Hey - done !!! interesting grid all told
Hello darling fellow babblers. I'm missing the first TA4/4; I think it is a phantom word. I would be grateful to infinity if someone could give me a clue.
ta - 4/4 - plural what you get when you sit in the sun before your burn
hi mab! you sits out in the suns to get a ta**
sun ta_ _
Thanks Mama, that was my last word and could not see if for looking. Can I help you with anything?
mab, are you any warmer?
Thanks Tim. I miss the easiest things. I think I get aphasic at the end of the grid.
not right now mab, started from the end about a half hour ago and am up to the pr's... slow compared to what Im hearing, but I'm moving in slow mo I guess!
could use some help on the 1st py5/16 and the py6/27..please
Angelsong it's sweet of you to ask. The weather is warmer, so my drafty apartment is warmer. So yes, a warmer me.
Tim - py 5/16 py + past tense of run then py 6 - plural
Tim: py plus past tense of to move fast, like jogging. The plural is your six.
I just decided I am glad I started this grid!! So nice to see normal words - SO unlike yesterday's!!!!
Amen Mama
mab - you are cold???? here, let me warm you in my bear fur hug (((((((mab)))))))))
mab ..... thanx again getting closer .... have 25 to go
(((((((Mama))))))))))))))) I have on so many layers of clothes! And huge man socks - 4 pairs, plus the normal size cotton ones. My ankles look as big as my thighs!
how about a clue for the ph7/44............?
ph plus Egyptian sun god plus another word for attempt.
LOL mab..... you're the abominable sockwoman!!!
For the other ph add your or6 that means to give a speech.
I could have sworn someone was blathering on about this puzzle having normal words in it.....
*mamabear slowly raises her hand about as high as the top of her head*..... ummmmm,.... that would be me, sir
Well, it has words that are identifiable as words. No Welsh or Scots. Ywis.
mab ...do you have the last 2 gy words... and by the way thanx again.((((mab))))
ok... ok... ok...... not ALL normal words..... thanks BJ, you jinxed me!
The last word, gy4, is a sandwhich of a Mediterranean sort. The gy4 before that means to twirl, and then its plural. You know the Charlotte Bronte book 'Jane Ey**'?' Substitute g for the first e.
Hello again! See Mama -- I leave for a half hour and you are almost caught up with me ;) (*Hugs*) for everyone!!
is there a clue for the na 5/10
And how do you know that, GW?????
pe8? re8/55?
re 8 is to ed the one before it
Because you just said you were working backwards and up to the py's -- I am only up to the pe's myself + about another 30 I found before bed earlier this AM
Oh.... must have said that awhile ago.... sorry. Now I am up to the no's...
pe 8 is an extension of pe6. Add another word for an attempt to the six.
Well , then you are even closer to me than we both thought! -- I told you you would do fine :)
de6/24? ar/624? ar/630?
I'm sorry -- I'm so sleepy that I must go to bed.... Night dear babblers.
de 6/'24 - rhymes with a type of 4 door car, change the first letter from s to d
good nite mab!!!!! sleep well & dream deep!!! (((mab)))
nite mab thanks again....... : )
sorry, tim - no ar's here yet.
G'Nite mab (*Hug*) -- Sleep Well and Dream Warm! ;)
Sorry Tim -- working backwards, no A's yet
Tim: that ar is like the element that you already have; just noodle the ending until it sounds like Homer's Odessy.
oops ar 6 before that one is plural the element.
Wasn't the ar6/30 Jason's ship?
thanks anyways .....went all the way through......missing a couple here and there, 21 to be exact.
Odyssey.... Don't rightly know Jack, sounds probable.
Hmmm, looks like jason's ship was only 4 letters. oh well, never said I had a good memory....
Brandy -- no, Jasons ship was only ar4
Keep going Tim, you can do this.
thanks again.....18 more
op 7/36, the 1st op 7/32?
op7/36 - "A quantity on which a mathematical or logical operation is performed."
both, Tim, are similiar to the one you have, the surgery. Change the ending so that one is the South African currency, and the other is to ra** and rave.
1st op7/32 -- change the last consonant ont the 7/36
thanks : ) getting closer...
Help with the 1st ho6/27, anyone? Mama -- how are you doing?
gotta go....daughter needs my love and guidence, or the car keys.......may be back : ) bye for now ( :
"up" to the ce's - 12 more...
sorry GW, thats one I dont have...C YA.....
later, Tim!
ho 6 - ho 4 above it plus the type of bread minus the last vowel
see ya Tim!!! have a good nite
Thanks Mama!
welcome!!
Finito!!! Thanks to anybody who is still here who talked me into starting this one... it was fun and it took my mind off "stuff"... anybody need clues?
Mama! You beat me! (though I did have to go to a quick practice). Well done!
Sure -- make me feel bad ---- You start after me and finsih well before me!!! :) TANJ!! (There Ain't No Justice)
Great job, Mama!! (*HUG*)
kristinc - you were one of my "coaches" .... thanks!!! I am glad I started it, even though it was such a late start..
Oh p'shaw, GW!!!!! T'wasn't a race... (although I think this is the FIRST time I finished before you!!) *slight smirk*
well, hopefully the "coach" will finish sooner than later--I keep getting called away though. At least I'm not the only one who was trounced by your lighting-fast fingers and blazing speed :)
I should change back into my bear icon... maybe if I don my fir, I won't be so cold. But when I heard today's theme was bridges, I couldn't resist putting this guy up!
I know it's not a race, but it still niggles me a little -- remember, for all my empathy and good nature, I am still male and thus competitive ;D
Really, GW? Gee, I hadn't noticed! *mamabear changes her slight smirk to a hardy guffaw*
ROFL!!!
LOL, kristinc - you forgot to add "a2z" to that list of "traits"!
hello everyone GW, Sprite received your hugs from last night and returned them
hi niamh!!!! how goes it?
Thanks, Niamh --- (*Hug*) for the messenger :)
GW - do you recognize my icon, or are you too young?
I am doing well, I love this grid! 7 words to go! How are you?
Mama -- I've seen Airplane!! ;)
Mama...whatever it takes. Now I though you were going to bed early. What time is it?
thank you GW and a ((hug)) for the sender too!
I'm doing ok. Fighting a sore throat tonite though.. still lingering since Christmas Eve... I need it to be Spring
It's 10:06 pm.. will be going shortly. Do either you or GW (or niamh if you aren't done yet) need any clues? Or anyone else, for that matter who might be out there.
that's an awful long time to suffer mama... I'm sorry! I like to drink pomegrante juice for sore throats, it helps me a lot
Was he in Airplane?
I'm down to my last 21, Mama -- in the do's now I'll let you know if I need anything :)
Pomegranite juice? I'll have to try that. Thanks.
I am working on the a's not really giving up just yet... thank you for the offer :D
Mama...not shooing you off but just wondering :) And, since you asked, I am stuck on only three that I can tell: the ar 6/30, the first do 4/6 and the do 5/14 following that (as far as I can tell) Thx
Mama -- he was the grond based controller who picked the wrong day to gove up his various vices (smoking, sniffing glue, etc.)
OK. I'll stick around for a little while.
oops, give not gove
they sell pomegranite juice in the refrigerated produce section at most Safeways, it comes in a cute little snowman shaped bottle. kinda spendy, but very worth it
kristinc ar 6/30 - take the ar 6/24 above it, remove the 2nd to the last consonant, and add the sometimes vowel at the end do 4/6 - another word for illegal drugs do 5/14 - one who does the illegal drugs
You remember the movie better than I do, GW! I can't remember Lloyd being in it though. I thought that Leslie Nielsen was in that movie.
Gracias mama!
He was also, Nielsen was on the plane -- he was the doctor - random character -- "Surely, you can be serious?" Nielsen (de4pan) -- "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley"
I think Lloyd was in a later Airplane. But he was definitely a clueless Air Traffic Controller. Leslie Nielsen was one of the pilots.
greetings bridges.....8)
Looks like GW remembers it better than both of us....
down (up?) to the A's!
hello ren :)
hey wolfie - you are correct - he did pick a bad day to give up...smoking...drinking...etc. ...
LOL GW, that was one of the best lines from that movie!
Brandyjack -- more likely, I have seen it more recently -- It was highlighted on one of the flashback shows recently
hi rennie!!!
hi ni !!!!!!
Hey ren!! (*HUG*) -- how you doing today?
hi mama bridges...8)
Hi Everyone!
you're welcome, kristinc... any others?
Hi JoJo!
i ran away from work this evening....8)
Hi JoJo -- (*Hug*)

still 20 to go but I'm lookin' good. thanks again
hello Jojo!
hi jojo - ready for sunday?
good for you rennie..... you ARE going back, though, right?
That's a good thing to do every now and then, ren -- I did the same thing today as well :)
Mama: What's with the pic tonite? Had a good day, went to the movie Munich. Good show. If anyone out there remembers the 1972 Olympics, you will enjoy the show.
yes mama... i will be back at 7 in the a.m.....w/ my smiley face on....8)
Ren & Nia: Yeah, you got to believe we all in Seattle are ready for Sunday.
And... Done!!
Work. work. work. we all work so hard and spend so many hours at it. I think.. we should all buy lottery tickets and make a pact that if anyone wins, we split it, and all meet up in Aruba and lay on the beach with our mai tais and laptops and play Babble!!!
grats
ok w/ me mama...i've never played the lottery...however....as long as i can have an umbrealla...i in!
JoJo - the theme for today is bridges! Good job GW!!!!!!! whoo-hooo *!*!*!* fireworks*!*!*!*!
GW: **hugs** How's wifey doing tonite. Not too long now until Sebastian enters this world.
sounds GREAT mama!!
way to go wolfie!!!!!!!!!
How come I didn't know the theme of today. Lloyd Bridges was one of my favorite actors.
sctv does a routine on sea hunt....8)
Kirsten is fine -- just tired -- she got the advantage of my running away from work -- she got a nap before dinner :)
Yeah, when I jumped in this afternoon to say hello - there were so many bridges already taken, but nobody had him yet!!! LOL
cailte....? hi.....8)
I wonder -- did anyone post a musical bridge today?
I think I'm gonna cuddle my daughter for a bit, it's almost bed time so I see y'all in a few
GW: You sound like a great hubby.
Hello :) I'm just sitting back lurking. wasn't feeling to good and about to go to bed but i can't pass up congratulating someone who finishes these :)
sorry, Cailte -- thanks and how are you tonight? (*hug*)
night ni....8)
Enjoy, Niamh :) Cuddle time is the best time!
I do my best, JoJo :)
cailte - is that your siamese?
GW: Sounds to me like to do better than your best.
Musical bridges???? Yes, GW, but they all fell down!
Not an exact picture of her but it's Really close. :) She's a very uppity thing and definitely looks the part :)
my bridge is the one on the way to corpus that keeps getting hit by boats ...
i love siamese kittys
ren -- I prefer kitties that have at lease some siamese in them -- it makes them more lovey and definitely very chatty
She's about 12 yrs old but you'd never know it. She's super energetic when she's not sleeping the day away. ;) Oddly enough I didn't want a siamese at first, but now I can't imagine my life without her. :D
lol wolfie....they do talk and talk and talk.....feed me...now...how about now....nink..nink...nink
Anyways, short night for me. I need my rest. :) Y'all take care. Catch ya later. G'night from me and Pounce! ;)
I don't know about siamese kitties. I had a part siamese cat for 17 years. She only loved me. Slept with me every night, but hated everyone else in the family. But, I loved her dearly, and was very hard to have to finally put her down.
Yeah -- but they also chirrup an 'I love you' every now and then to keep us off balance :)
we are pet pecked...2 cats, 5 dogs....only 2 dogs live w/ us, the others are our neighbors...
night cailtle and pounce!!!
G'Night cailte!! and to Pounce as well --- (*Hug for the human) and (*Skritchies for the kitty*)
You have 0 words left to find---7 fantastic words. Thanks mambear and others!
Yayyyy! for kristi!!!!
way to go kristinc!!!!!!!!!!
anyone have a clue for de 6/24
?
Hi all. I'm back and trying to finish up as fast as I can b/4 midnight. Any help w/ pr 7/40?
de6/24 -- rhymes with the term for a 4 door auto, pluralled
pr7/40 -- pr + vowel + so4/6
thanks, greywoulf! crazy word :)
I know, ST --- I just looked it up -- who would have thought?
thnx gw. Now on to the r's.......
ep8 anyone?
ep8 -- ep5 + consumed food
Good evening everyone. Woulf, what happens if you don't have ep5? :)
hey hootowl.....do you need ep5?
And I do have both. I've been lurking. Find it less distracting.
Hi mom!! -- then I help you there too! ;) Should clarify -- builds of the ep5/14
oops -- off of the ep5/14
I've only got 144 words so I won't be finishing it. But they do get weirder and weirder don't they?
And when you look them up they can't be found.
This is actually a fairly tame one despite the size -- only took me a little over 2 hrs to finish
whew hootowl...i thought it was me getting weirder and weirder!!! 8)
Aah but you are used to this insanity! I'm still figuring it out. And except for 2 words, I figured out the rest on my own.
No way Ren - it's whoever puts these together! :) And thanks for the clue.
lol hootowl! it's a friendly asylum though...8)
That it is. Just can't spend too much time in it. Been copying the info and working on paper when I get the chance. Who said retired meant doing nothing?????
Woulf - where'd you get 2 hrs from?
Mom -- you have so many pet projects, I think you could term them a menagerie! You do nothing, ha!
retirement means more time to do the chores you didn't accomplish when you were working the 24/7 ...doesn't it?
Well you know what my current pet project is. And I'll be staying in Memphis.
I get my time by logging on the grid shortly after Kristianna goes to bed and/or by staying up til stupid o'clock in the morning or some combo thereof
Well stupid o'clock doesn't work for me! I get...stupid!
ok good people - i'm changing my icon and going to read for a while.... ho**fully i will see you all tomorrow...8)
Hi Greywolf. I am also up until stupid o'clock, but only plan on going to bed at dumb hundred hours.
So long, ren -- (*Hug*) -- see you tomorrow! Enjoy the book and Sleep Well!
and I'm back...38 words to go....
any help with se 7/28?
Well chores but also adding all the stuff you didn't have time for. So you still have no time and too many things to catch up on!
se 7/28 - kife edge
SEE! knife!
kind of looks like a zit..... it's ra patera on jupiter's lo taken by voyager...oh wel....(((huggies))) and night all...
LOL, Sushi se7/28 -- drop the last letter from the se8 which is type of knife blade -- not smooth but se8
Night Ren
OMG.... I just had 6 plain clothes cops searching my house. They arrested my son on marijuana charges. I am shaking so bad, I can hardly type. I can't beloieve this is happening
Well -- time to do the back rub thing, and then the kitty cat thing, will be back after the flip for sure -- maybe shortly before, we'll see :)
mamabear are you alone now? You need someone with you.
My husband is here, but it's the same thing as being alone
how old is your son? what a terrible thing. do you have to go to the station to help him?
Understand the alone. been there. How about a neighbor or family?
ar6/30?
mama was just about to log off from the server and saw your message... are you ok???
Mama --(*HUG*) -- how bad is it?
give me a minute please
ar6/30 -- "# Nautical. 1. A large merchant ship. 2. A fleet of ships. "
hi all
hi CJ
how are you GW
Doing fine at home -- kinda in sympathetic shock with the rest here in Babbleonia -- scroll back a bit and you'll see why
OMG poor moma....
Yea...
wow, what a wake up from snuggle time... (((((Mama)))))
Sorry GW, still can't get the ar6/30?
I'm sorry I souln't have said ahything
ar6/30 -- same 1st 4 letters as the other 6 + sy
no mama, we are all here to suport you in whatever way we can... don't feel bad for us, right now it's our job to be suportive to you.
hugs for moma ((moma))
Mama -- we're your friends, it's all right :)
Mamma, there is no need to be sorry for anything. We do care, and I am always willing to listen if you need to vent.
Poor Mama ((HUG))... things will be ok... it has happened in our house too... please be assured weverything will work out OK
i have 136 words. how can you tell what is left?
At times like this I say we should have had more dogs & fewer kids!
still can't get the merchant ship ar6/30
and fewer husbands apparently. sorry boys.
8, there is a link on the right to babblers anon... that has stat info on it
re 8/60, anyone?
ar 6/30 remove the second to the last consonant from the ar 6 above it and tag on the end the sometimes vowel
re 8/60 to score an exam again (past tense)
re 8/60...teachers sometimes do it
re8/60 -- past tense of the re7 re7 -- when a teacher evaluates a test score they re7 the paper
thanx, everyone...
pe 8/60 would be nice.
just 4 to go.. do 6/24
hoot add ry to your pe6/24
Iam so sorry to upset everyone. This was unfair of me and I apologize. You are all very wonderful people and I apprefciate it more than you know.
pe8 builds off the pe6 which means -- "One who pays undue attention to book learning and formal rules." just add 'ry'
mama, we are upset for you not at you... are you ok?
((((((((((***********MAMA***** ******))))))))))
Mama, I will email you if you like... this same thing happened to a family we know and to a household border living in our house.... let me know if you want me to email you
do 6/24 is past tense of the do 4 above it
Got it! Thanks. Trying to work off the wrong word!
No, truthfully, I am not. The image of having your son taken away in handcuffs from your own home, and having them search his room, etc. I'm just glad my daughter wasn't home.
mrp - my email address is in my bio. thank you
Don't have the do 4 above it either.:(
OK Mama... will do! Sorry that you witnessed that whole scene!!
I can only imagine, my son is only 10 and I would hand him the moon if I could... I truly just want to cry for you... I'm sorry
tu, niamh, ta 5/14 ta 6/24
Mama I wish I'd half the support you have right here. It will get better.
