I'm enjoying your sign, Une, and wishing I had one just like it. Oy, this is an immense grid!
Can't right now. It's a 1000 miles and I'm still waiting on NY to issue a new title on my currently unregistered truck! I'm hoping for spring.

Hello everybody. I see some of you don't sleep anymore than I do.:)
wow, it's a big night for Brit spellings!!
Night woulf - be good
Nite, GW :)
I'm headed to bed. Have a good night all.
Goodnight, GreyWoulf and Doxy.

Good night, Chic
Night all who are heading for beds.
G'night to those leaving
Morning dear gang!
Morning, sprite.
morning, sprite . . . and g'nite all . . .
Goedemorgen Sprite wat ben je vroeg! Alles goed?
Morning, Sprite! Several great endings in this grid.
Oh yes, this is very promising! Gheghe, hi Lucky, alles goed hier, met jou ook?
Ja Sprite alles goed ik heb alleen de hele nacht niet geslapen
Too busy babbling, Lucky? ;)
hi all
Hi, CJ.
Hi CJ!
how are you?
Hi CJ.
Yes Sprite I'm hooked for life!
:D Lucky, just as I am! Well, there are worse addictions, right? I love this grid...
Grid is great but why does it take so long for the stats to pop up?
If I would make a website from a beautiful seaside, wouldn't that be called a S7?
Lucky: hit refresh. Stats are there already, but you were probably on when they were generated.
Sprite refresh is f4 right?
F5 here. Or the arrows on the top of the browser.
Ty Sprite that's what lack of sleep does to me, stats are up
Lack of sleep makes for curious miracles all the time, lol. You should try to sleep sometime, though. You don't want us to call you Lacky, all of a sudden, right? ;)
150 words -- good time to quit for the night. See you in the morning :)
Nite nan!
Night, cybernan.
Sleep well, nan.
Lacky of sleep, lacky of words, lucky must be fed and off to her bed bye Sprite LOL!
Lol Lucky... sleep well and sweet dreams!
Hello hello helloo to all.... this is a nice big one tonight
hi blaze
It's off to bed with me. I'm sure I'll see bunches of you tomorrow. Night!
Hi Blaze! It is nice! Beautiful endings and all, jump in :)
Bye smithchick!
good night chick

jon... how do you want it sent?
can you please send it in simple format on site cheers
jon, it is too big, sorry!
jon... hang on... trying something
Back! And the hunt goes on...
jon... go here for stats copied directly from BabAnon http://www.writely. com/View.aspx?docid=bbcm4wqp64 s9b
... after taking out the spaces... should work, otherwise can't help
Hi All - how is everyone doing?
sprite!
Hi mrP :) And Dianne... going strong so far, but about to hit the wall, I fear. Funny, no matter how big the grid, that halfway point is always the markstone for trouble.
hi Sprite! 119 words to go ..... eeep!
I have absolutely everything from the l's down so hit me for clues ... L and down only!!
I've got 55 left to find. Chipping away - bit by bit :)
Hi Atalante! :D 111 here, same ...eeeeep!
its that "100 to go" barrier!
And no 'satellite' to help us get there :(
nor resilient ....
I hit that barrier! 99 to go... how is everybody doing on the biggies? I am doing poorly there.
I need 1 more 8 and 2 more 7s.
I need 5 more 8s and 10 7s!
li8 is a weirdo one...
sprite - the Rs are full of 7 & 8 letter words (3 x 7 and 4 x 8).
From the log I got those: R8/45, R8/40 and now your Li8. D7/32, E7/28, R7/28 x 2 and S7/32. I have the R8/40, the E7/32, the R7 that goes with the 40 and a T7/32. I am very thick today.
I don't have a Li8 but I have a La8.
that's the one dianna! seeing things again!!
Ah, just found a sticky A8/50!
sprite, there are 2 li7s - have you got those?
Do you have the O6/18, inflammation of the ear? Took me 20 minutes to find :(
Nope, just found the La, but no Li. I keep wanting to make liaison and that's impossible...
work along those lines and you'll get them
sprite.. I spent 10 minutes misspelling that li... but got there in the end, with the subs!!
Yeah! Thanks guys, found them. Er... sorry to have put a word so close to them in the log...
Do you guys want the first 2 letters of the 7s that I have?
I need 2 more 7s, rest has been found now. That would be great, Dianne, we can compare then :)
De7/32, Er7/28, La7/32, Li7/28, Li7/32, Re7 x 4, Sa7/28 and Sh7/32.
Just got the last 7 - At7/28.
I can add At7/28
LOL!
37 to go now. Found a lot of small ones while hunting the biggies. Nice teamwork :)
Hail. No greeting. It is what is ticking at my window. I long for Spring to arrive NOW!
can I have a clue for that at 7/28?
It's a medical phrase. It rhymes more or less with the illness of forgetfulness.
In case anyone is interested in the def: 1. The absence or closure of a normal body orifice or tubular passage such as the anus, intestine, or external ear canal. 2. The degeneration and resorption of one or more ovarian follicles before a state of maturity has been reached. Just saying.
got it thanks!!!
Guess I'd rather have O6/18 than At7.
May I have a clue for the L8 please?
the Li 8 that is.
I don't have a Li8, only a La8.
Please can I have a clue for the la8
It's La8/40 Start with the La5/10 and expand on that.
la8 - la4 (meaning not on time + ri4 (last one)
8: Ad50, La40, Re40x2, Re45x2.
Got it thanks thought I had tried every possible combination
Thanks Sprite, I'm missing the A8 not the L.
SweetTooth: think sticky.
Got it!
Nice one, isn't it? To find, I mean?
Yes, thanks for the clue.
5 more words, all S. Any stupidhead S-words I should think of?
I'm missing 9 s's.
Ah, Sprite. So I guess you don't need the OT 6/18 anymore.
Nope, don't need it :) Don't want it either, so very painful. Found a stupidhead S-couple myself: alt. spelling for hebrew letter and its plural. Usual spelling starts Ts.
Sprite, do you have sa6/18 (sa4/4 (condiment) + two vowels) ... it borders on the stupidhead.
Oh trishtrash, thanks, no, didn't have that one yet. That IS a stupidhead one. I'd understand it if it would have had an R as final letter. Strange word!
hi, everyone. I will be hanging out here today. I got up to go to the bathroom, almost fell, and twisted my back. I hurt everywhere....
Ouch! Angelsong, hope you feel better soon.
:( sorry to hear that Angel (that you hurt, not that you'll be here, obviously)
Ahhhhh Angelsong.... that's not a nice way to start your day. Be careful with that back.
Hi Angel, I hope you feel better soon!
Done! If I can help anyone with a clue or two, just yell. I'll be here a little longer, until my daughter comes home with her guests. She's having her birthday party today. Guess I'll be busy the rest of the day, lol.
Happy Bday to your daughter, Sprite!
Thanks! We'll go paint ceramics this afternoon, so we will be having fun. Even my husband is coming along. Daughter is in the 7th heaven :)
congrats, Sprite :) ... and birthday congrats to the littler sprite :)
sprite gets ~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~* (Happy BDay to Daughter)!
Hey great, fireworks! Don't think I ever had those :) :) And thanks for the birthday wishes, I'll pass them on. She is 8 years old now and soooooo proud ;)
Is the LA8 connected to the LA7s?
Are you and your husband going to paint something too?
Sprite... my 8 year old (24th Feb) is having the ceramics party too! We thought your idea was great and booked it...
SweetTooth: yes, we are. I like it, and my daughter just begged daddy to try it and he smiled and said of course... LOL. It's part of the fun, I think, that all participate. We'll see how he likes it :)
Boysaway: yes, in a way. They start the same, other ending though. mrP: that's wonderful! I'll think of you guys when we are painting. Nice to share!
My husband and I went once......he loved it! He used to paint years ago. I am a horrible painter and ended up using templates, but had fun nonetheless.
That's what I like so much about those workshops: real artists can make wonderful things there, and hopeless folks like me can use templates or sponges and things, and the result is surprisingly beautiful too :)
I know what you mean. I was very proud of the mug I painted.
I also like the variety of things you can paint. There are useful objects, like plates and mugs and bowls, but for the kids also little statues of dinosaurs, mermaids etc. It's a great concept :)
OK, on the countdown now... only 8 to go!!
LA8 = A red residual soil in humid tropical and subtropical regions. Njoy....
WTG mrP! Almost done... :)
It is a great concept. Part of the fun is deciding what to paint. I'm sure the kids will have a great time.
... DONE!!! Finished, Completed, Over.... YES!
Congrats!
Ah, I hear little voices coming to our house... daughter and guests arriving at daddy's side :) Bye guys, thanks for the great company and chat and help. Happy hunting! :)
mrP gets.... ~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~ *
bye Sprite, have fun :)
thanks Sprite!! Have fun!@!
Bye Sprite! Have a great day!
hi & congrats, mrp :)
trish! How goes all?
good thanks :) .... enjoyable grid today, wasn't it? (past tense for your sake, I'm still a quarter or so off completion) How's it on your side of the world?
Lovely thanks... nice weather (cool) finally... kids are back at school... life is good! I am here for clues for a little bit, then off!! to bed!!
I just found another reverse dictionary: http://www.wordtree.com/
Can anyone help me with the last er5/10?
Mari - Hello. Last er5/10 sounds like sections of a poem but knock off the first letter.
mari - er5/10 = Irish Gaelic / Language from Ireland
Thanks a million Jacula it was driving me mad!!
someone help me with sh7 thx in adv. Njoy....
y/w, Mari.
sh7/32 - one who removes the fleece from a sheep.
thx Njoy....
What is going on w/the log? I've refreshed...shut down...restarted..it's not working. I'll try sending this message to see if that helps. Oh ! if it does..hello everyone 8)
hello gramma :)
Hiya, Gramma. It's just quiet today, I think. Big grid, you see.
good morning/evening
Has it been quiet for an hour? That's what my log reads.
probably ... everyone head down, working away ...
Yes, Gramma, it has.
Well, that's enough of that!! ;} Hey, I hit a 1000 in 2 of the stat columns. I tell myself "it doesn't matter. it's all for the fun of it.." but when I saw that I was Psyched.
Hi Chessy, Doxy.:-) Gramma - Well done! I'm just looking for my last 45 words. Ha! 'Last 45,' she says. LOL. The majority are, of course, re's...
Hi Jacula. I hate 're' words with a passion ... grrrrr
Hello, everybody.
hi smithchick. I'm with you chessy, grrrrr.
Nice one gramma
Ty adsman
Hi Smithchick. Chessy - Yes. The number of things that can't be 're' done is annoying. The sitting exams again ones annoy me most. You can't rehome animals according to Babble either. (Not in this grid but has been in the past.)
I could use a clue for the AT 7....Any help out there?
definition is: The absence or closure of a normal body orifice or tubular passage such as the anus, intestine, or external ear canal! suggest you try googling that :)
mornin all!!
Hiya Evan, Adsman.
Chessy, I googled it and got it! TY.
y/w gramma - couldn't think of a decent clue :)
Chessy - Thanks for the at7!
hi, evan.
I suppose a clue for the at7 is that it rhymes with that sweet-smelling flower, the free***.
hi eva
Good morning babblers. You all are going to be sick of me today. I am giving myself a mental health day and intend to play this game until I finish the grid today. There will be brief interludes to refill my coffee cup and switch loads of laundry. Ahhhhhhh
morning musicmom. Good for you!!!
I don't think there is a decent clue for a word w/that meaning....I'm not feeling well now...everything is closing up.....AAAAAHHHHHHH.... 8D
Hiya MM. You don't fancy doing some ironing for me, I suppose? *Ducks*
Thanks Doxy. Love your sign!!
Hey, musicmom.
I only iron the fronts of tux shirts (for my husband) and flat pieces of yardage for quilting. Otherwise, I make the 11 year old do it. She thinks it's fun. sorry, she's at school.
ty. yours is good too.
Musicmom, if you think this game is good for your mental health, you do need a mental health day!!
Hi gramma. You have no idea........
LOL, gramma
Doxy - Love the sign! Where's it from?
found it when I googled road signs. don't remember the site.
i believe Hell is the name of a town inMichigan
I've been looking at this game, on and off, for the last four hours, and cannot make up my mind whether to play it or not? On reading your comments, I'm not so sure.
DA 6 anybody??
Doxy - S'okay, I've found it. 'Road signs I'd like to see' site. Worth a look for a laugh.:-)
the site had a bunch of great signs people had taken pictures of and sent in. I had trouble deciding which one to use
Oh sure give it a whirl Ex. Put your jammies on and pour a cuppa...
Gramma - Sorry. I'm looking for the da6 myself.
gramma, pretty white wild flowers growing in your lawn - you don't want to be pushing them up!!
sorry, I woke up at 3 am with reflux and couldn't get back to sleep. Been up 3 hours now with about 3 1/2 hours sleep.
ExWren, jump in! The water's fine...it's a fun one, so far. And everyone will help you thru.
There is a place in Norway called Hell, near Trondheim, I went to the station and had my passport stamped, which proves that I have been to Hell and back!
hi exwren
LOL, ExWren.
any clues for the first three ti's 5/10 7/32 6/18 please
very pretty head decoration. Like a crown
da6/21 is a plural of platforms.
Too funny, exwren.
ti5 - princesses' headgear ti7 - what the princess is when she is wearing the headgear ti6 - pl. headgrear
TY..I thought I had tried that ....probably typed it incorrectly the 1st time.
* or even 'plural headgear'!
Thanks, jacula. I love it when those boxes turn gray.
Is that ti7 really a word?
apparently so, it worked.
thanks very much dacula got them now. Hi to everyone
hard to believe musicmom!
Hello, rosalind.
MM - Yes. It's a real adjective.
Hi Rosalind. Chessy - I wouldn't have even tried that one without the clue.
I love this game - I learn something new every day.
me neither musicmom, although I suppose if you can be crowned, you can be ti*****!
What's wrong with hottie?
Hi, everyone!!!!! The number on my road sign is an indication of how many words I have left before I desperately need assistance.....lol
hi movieman
Hi movieman.
Movieman, w/only 40 left..we need help more than you! :}
Lol, Movieman. I have 37 words left to find.
I still need 150+.......
HI, musicman. I've got 64 to go.
brb
hhaaahahaaaa I still have 233 to get. I don't htink I'll be helping any of you all soon.
That's okay musicmom, you've got all day. I've got to run my kids to school. Be back soon.
have 104 left
see you soon smith.
later smithchick
Well, with 31 words now left to find (8 of which of re's), I think it's time I got that ironing done. Will check back in every now and then to give/receive clues. TTFN.
Don't burn yourself Jac.
later jacula
laundry brb
oatmeal with cinnamon and splenda, and a wee bit of corned beef hash, it is! *drools*
I refuse to belive that the game won't accept "resit".... I mean, what do students do when they fail their exams......
Living in a university town, I can tell you that resit is definitely a word<G>
hi everyone... i still have 148 words to find and I have nooooooooo idea how some of you manage to finish! happy babbling!
Hi uk. I haven't finished since Saturday.
130 to go here, and im right there with you, fizz!
evandine, what does your sign say? My vision isn't what it used to be ^_^
I have you all beat! I still have every single darned word left to find! :) Morning all!
morning, jen!
Good morning Jen!
Jen, you win!
Great sign, Une. I think we will all need that one before long.
;-)
missing an re6/18 near the end. have re6 - re + area re6 - re + dog or cat appendage.
go out again in a boat with a floppy thing attached to the mast
hi une
morning, doxie
have that one. need one before the last re7
do you have the "backward, posterior" re6?
Hey, what'd I miss?
Morning smithchick!
these are the ones I have: re4/4 re7/28 re8/45 re8/40 re4/4 re5/10 re7/28 re8/45 re8/40 re6/18 re7/2 8 re6/18 re6/18 re6/21 re6 /18 re6/18 re7/28 missing one near the last 7/28
morning une, morning jen!
Morning Jen!
Welcome back smith. one cup of coffee. That's all you missed.
gramma -- my sign says "caution: water on road during rain" hehe
Oh goody. I hate missing anything.
Eva- did you realize you used a word a while back? ha4?
MM -- no i didnt, cause i didnt have it yet....hehe....but i do now!
It helped me out;-)
well, thanks to you for pinting it out -- i think i got about 5 words, just from that!
evandine, that's Brilliant! Thank heavens they put that sign up. How would we ever know otherwise??
Yep that's what I mean...it was very helpful. Sounded tasty too.
sadly, theres probably a person walking around out there who is the reason that sign exists...hehe
There's one on the main road that I live on that says...Road dangerous when under water.....OKay, thanks for the warning.
theres one my old roommate always used to laugh at: "SLOW *picture of children* Children at Play" she always thought it was just a warning about slow children...hehe
We had an idgit work for us once. It was a virtual down pour and he was outside working away....when he came in and I reminded him that we don't pick apples in the rain....he straight faced said " my perception of percipatation must be a bit off." True story!
No way, gramma!
Oh yeah 8)
makes you wonder how he survived that long :/
evanadine....perhaps she'll like this one then....suits my life at the moment...hello everyone... :)
The signs that kill me are the slow children at play signs that a parent can buy at Toys R Us to put up by their house... helloooooo? Teach you child not to play in the street or keep an eye on them like a good parent! (and evaN, hubby and I like to make that same joke... slow children...hehe)
hi tbear
Hey Eva. My husband thinks the same thing about that children sign. There used to be one in our old neighborhood that said "We <picture of a heart> SLOW our children" It looked like we love our slow children
He was brilliantly stupid
Hello, tbear.
hi doxy.....smithchick cn't remember the last time I saw you...you ok?
Saw a sign that stated " Do you believe in life after death? Tresspass here and find out!"
i saw some cute no parking signs once... "thou shalt not park here" "park not, lest ye be towed" hehe
evandine, sounds like a church parking lot *_*
Goodmorning All *sprinkle, sprinkle, sprinkle* a little faerie dust for the gird to get me going today. I may need the help (*^_^*)
Doing well. Just busy. Hubby's home about every two weeks for two weeks so I don't get on here much then. He left the other day. While the cat's away....
good morning faerie.
I'm having trouble finding the last ar6/18, ar5/10 and ar4/4. Any clues?
HI faerie. Send some of that fairy dust this way.
Morning faerie! :)
Hey, haz.
Oh yes and my sign says Lodging next Right - State Prision
Love it!
Hello smithchick - back at babble when I should be doing other things!
Ditto. Sleep being the primary thing I need to be doing. Do you have the ar's meaning to get up?
Smith *sprinkle, sprinkle, sprinkle* now close your eyes, hold out your arms and spin the dust. All for you Smity
hey all!
I am going to have to figure out this icon thing. I feel so empty without one.
How stupid can I be?
Hi Hurshy. Hi Haz
thank you, faerie. Much appreciated. I'm down to 52 and they are buggers. Especially those re's.
hurshy!
Smith-the icon is very easy and Haz can tell you how to do it (chuckle)
Hey hurshy! :)
That's what's called passing the buck!
Mab, do you and doxy ever sleep?:)
Smith - Jen could tell you how if not Haz
I could use a buck or two. (Not the antlered variety).
hi jen!
Haz - yes dear I did pass the buck on that one LOL
hi to those who came in. was getting some hot chocolate and muffin for breakfast.
Smith or Hurshy could give up the heads up on that.
Hurshy - Hello cutie...
hurshy, i almost used that sign. :D
Hello, hurshy.
Could I get an ad8 clue? I keep wanting to do adenoids.
oh hello everyone! i have to go teach, just wanted to get a few words in before class. see you all a bit later.
Glue is used for its quality of ad******
later hurshy
Great clue Haz! TY
Glad you got it.
Bye hurshy, thanks haz.
Haz-thanks that was a great clue and I needed it.
thanks haz
Thank you - I was on earlier and managed to get some of the longer words from clues given by the early morning experts!
Haz - come on give Smithchick a quick lesson in icons? Please? I suck at giving directons.
Smithchick. Do you use a MAC or a PC?
Okay, what I do is to go to google images, type in a vague description of what I'm looking for. I then right-click the picture and save it to My pictures. In the my profile part of Babble I follow the directions for uploading a new icon.
smithchick, here is what I do. I find the picture I want to use. Right click on mouse, click on save picture as. I send it to my pictures. Go to profile page, change icon. I push browse button, it brings up my pictures. Click on the picture you want, make sure you click on jpg or gif file. Click open. Then click load.
Smithchick, this is how I do my icons (there undoubtedly are other, better ways): Right click on an image, choose 'Save picture.' My Pictures will pop up and require you to create a file name. When you've done that, click 'Save.' When you go to 'edit' your icon in your profile, click 'browse.' My Pretty Pictures will come up again. Click on the image you want. Click 'upload.' Finally, refresh the page.
Haz - Yeaaaaaa, *%*%*%*% you did a terrific job. WAY better than I ever could have.
Smithchick, go to your profile page and click on "edit" where the icon should be (on the upper right hand side)... once you are on the edit icon page, you may either pull a pick from your own stash on your computer or find one on a web page. to put it in, copy the URL (if doing a web based pic) and paste it into the slot and retrieve it that way.
doxy, are we not brilliant?
'Smithchick was carried away by men in white coats. She was babbling incoherently about icons.'
Sorry, let me get caught up. Wasn't reading the posts.
great minds think alike. :D
Haz!
Mab - Great - thats the way I do it to. Now *why couldn't I have given those direction* *scratches head and wonders where the faerie dust is* LOL
Why ohhhhh Why isn't the word "raisin" in this puzzle. I see it three ways:-))
I find it's a lot easier to just copy the picture address rather than save it to my pictures on my computer.
I've decided to change my icon to something more amusing...... Incase you can't make it out, it's two street signs, one pointing to Seaman Ave., and the other pointing to Cumming St., lol...........
Thanks everybody. Let's see if my feeble brain can figure it out. Back in a bit.
raisin is in the grid I also found it a couple of times what is wrong with Dr-G? Did he miss it (smile)
Speaking of signs, I like how 'look right' is painted on the pavement in London in order to cut down on flattened tourists.
The grid needs to be like Rubiks cube. We could disassemble it and put it back together to suit us.
raisin isn't quite there. too many i's between s and n
Music-if only-I've tried many times. I'm always finding words that "should" be in the puzzle.
Mornin' all... how goes the battle?
Ah, but Jen, then you don't have a lovely album of past icons. I save the pretty/amusing ones for future use elsewhere. (Copyright notwithstanding)
{{{{Jera}}}}
hi jera. nice fairy
Morning Jera. It's interesting.
morning all.
hi chic
Hi Jera!
Hi, Jera...... I'm struggling, been playing for over three hours now, and I'm still 120 words short......
Hi chic!
has anybody found a word ending in 'ite' yet?
la 8/40 ends in ite
I've only been on about an hour, some interruptions... I'm still not feeling great, but Gwyd was, so off to school with him... the Sprite is home sick, though, poor baby...
Okay, here we go....
thanx, haz
As does ri 4/4
chic, I've found three, an s4, an l4 and an r4......
Sorry to hear you are feeling unwell Jera. UGh and with a sick child as well.
Haz, looking at your sign, it made me think, those damn triffids get everywhere..........
Well done Smithie. Aw, sorry you and the wee Sprite are not well, Jera.
The boy brings it home from preschool, I do believe, fortunately he doesn't stay sick for long...
I know - aspidistras are the worst
yay for smithchick, you got it.
They are little petri dishes Jera. (children)
So, smithchick - whose directions did you follow?
Smity - congrats - you did it. Easy huh...
Hello, movieman, chic and jera. Did anyone else come on while I was honing my fine technological skills?
A combination. Mostly from haz, I think.
Yeah Smithchick You did it!
Good morning!!!! Any help with the first la 5/10? Having trouble finding it.
morning nonny
Jera, if it makes you feel any better, I came down to FL and got sick! Hacking up a lung as I type!
HI nonny. la5/10 Think of what a cowboy ropes a calf with without the last two letters and add the plural.
Nonny la*** eye surgery for example
there is also tr 5/10.... thanx, guys
sorry to hear you are unwell jera and jen.
How are you, dear Tbear?
tbear and smithchick....have both of those. need the very first la 5/10.
Good Mab....how's you... :)
And with 163 still to find, I am going to head out for a while and go to the library with my son. BBL! :)
have a good afternnon jen
Bye Jen. Have fun.
Do all the de6/21's that are all globbed together start with the same three letters? I'm having to use bj's list today. Not enough time.
the first la5/10 I have rhymes with pears
Later Jen. I'm essentially fine, tbear, although black dogs are jcircling ust outside my door (the blues).
Bye Jen. Have fun at the library.
The first de 6 doesn't use the same as the rest. It continues with a vowel
Bye Jen :)
But the other four are the same?
Yes - they're normal words
Greetings. Road signs today? I thought it was Evan's birthday today. I'm out of the loop!
Oh mab...in that case if we're being honest....black dogs are in!!!!! Still I always grow back.....eventually... Huge hug for you..honey
smithc... and all start with the same 3 letters, and the last one extends to a 7.
hi harpjane. B-day tomorrow
Smithchick - I'm missing one but three are definitely the same first three letters
Hi harpjane. If you're out of the loop here, you're just where you are supposed to be. Or something like that...
Hello, harpjane.
okie dokey! I love my roadsign btw!
And huge hug for you too, tbear. Fortitude is a necessity.
Smith-what does your sign say?
What does it say, harpjane?
mab...I'll say!!!
harpjane, I wonder how many people went in before they put that one up
I don't know what it says. It's Japanese.
It says... Hand Car Wash
LOL - in the rain it appears.
tbear, I know some people who need that sign in their yard.
I have a Japanese sign that in English below reads 'please do not harm the sleeping grass.' So sweet.
In a flood. Water is half-way up the guys legs.
doxy I need to put the sign on the inside of my house door to remind me when they return from school that two insensitive to the human condition aliens are about to invade my space.....what i do instead is greet them with a smoothie and hope 'today' will be different.....lol
hi all has any 1 got a clue 4 ad 8/50
hehee t-bear. I can relate.
billie.....stickyness
Haz had a great clue for that one a little while ago.
billie, a great one posted earlier glue has great ad****** powers
tbear, fortunately I am almost through that stage. The last one home is 19 and leaving soon.
ad 8 - glue is used for its quality of ad******
thanks haz, couldn't remember very well.
Musicmom....my only consolation is that one day I will be able to choose whether to open the door or not....revenge will be sweet.....hope it's raining hard THAT day.....Oh no,they've turned me into a monster
don't worry tbear. You'll come back when the aliens return your children
clue for ad 8/50 at 8:38 (what glue does or something like that)
Hehe. I looked at my husband the other night and said "only 13 more years!" And he got all put out because I want them to move when they are 18. I'm not going to kick them out on their birthday or anything. but there is a limit....
Youch, tbear. Are you sure my kids aren't visiting there?
It's SO hard when you love them more than life itself but you don't like them at all....and you have your own issues to be dealing with....aaaarrrrggggg OK that's me off-loaded......sorry guys
No problem Tbear. It's nice to know I'm not the only one.
at least we understand tbear. Most of us have or are going through that.
Right there with you, tbear. My 13 yr. old is trying to be sweet lately because I've been having a lot of headaches and I told him I figured it was from stress and part of my stress was the kids and their school performance, chore avoidance, etc.
Guys....firstly....thanks for being there and reminding me I'm not the only one!!!! Secondly.....35 minutes and counting down........aaaahhhhhh
There are the occasional glimpses of humanity. Few and far between, but that's what keeps me going, I guess.
has any 1 got a clue 4 ai 5/10 ai 6/18
Fortunately we don't have issues with school performance but chore avoidance is huge here right now. I threatened to take Sarah's entire social life away from her for an indefinite time if she doesn't get it together. She's eleven.
People that hang out the dirty laundry.
my grandbaby just got here. "have" to babysit.
ai5 where you hang your clother to dry and ai6 plural
Have fun doxy! Snuggles to the baby.
Lucky doxy! Enjoy!
Hi guys! : )
hi lola
Doxy - Bye
Doxy......enjoy....see you later
Hi lola. Yes, do yield to elephants, I agree.
My 13 yr. old is very intelligent, but has ADHD and is lazy to boot. He barely passed his classes at the semester. At one point, he had a 28 in Math. He scores advanced in Math on all of the standardized. He also had a 40 in language arts and he reads past the 12th gr. level. Very frustrating knowing he is capable with just a modicum of effort and he just doesn't give a hoot.
I've been laughing while reading some of your comments about your children. I know the teenage years can be hard (my daughters are now 22 and 19) but don't you remember yourself how ghastly it can be to be a teenager? Above all, keep a sense of humour and a sense of perspective.
Bye, doxy. Hi lola.
Hi Lola - sprinkles of faerie dust for you. ****@****
and a very hard coating.....
I like to think I'm paying for my husband's raising, not my own.:)
I wonder, smithy, if they are boring him in school?
Hi again everyone. Teabreak time here. Has anyone got the last se6/18? I can't see it!:-(
mab, lol, it is the wise thing to do! : D Why thank you faerie! Aw, the girls still giving you a hard time bear?? : /
Hi Lola... :)
Haz. You are right. That's why I cringed when I had two girls. Smith - take heart. My husband was the same way in Jr. High school. He now holds a Master's Degree that he had a 4.0 through the entire program. The only way he got into his bachelor's program was standardized test scores and musical talent.
Hey jacula, do you have the person doing the grabbing?
((((HUGS FOR TBEAR)))) They do turn into 'human beans' eventually.xx
Hi jacs : )
Or I guess the person having convulsions, maybe.
I've got the burner, the grabber and the concubines' living quarters. It's the last se6/18 I need.
Hi Lola. I nearly used the elefump sign but I decided to be kind to hodgehegs instead.:-)
Thanks Jacs and Lola...I feel very supported by Babble Buddies this afternoon and not so alone......You are all lovely...infact so lovely I'm going to send my girls to you all in rotation....plaese do not return for at least 4 years......thankyou So much.....Lol
has any 1 got a clue 4 ar 4/4 ar 5/10 ar 6/18
LOL, TBear. *Spits tea all over monitor.*
LOL, tbear. I've got a lovely 13 yr. old boy to trade you.
Thanks tbear - I only preach - I don't want to practise all over again....
tbear, perhaps a very good military school?
Jacula...in that case you first...as your keyboard is already wrecked they can't do much worse...!!!
Billie - example - this ar** is off limits. Then plural
Last se 6.18 think soap operas
EEK! *Sound of click as computer is turned off.*
bear, sure...maybe THEY can convince my three year old that potty training is a good idea : /
im sorry i have that 1
Just don't send your girls here Tbear. I've got my hands full. I'll be happy to support you and listen and let you cry. but I don't want them. hehehe
oh, mab stole my icon. :)
UGH Lola that's a battle I'm glad is behind me. My five year old had issues with that. I swear it was our first battle of the wills.
MM - Thanks! How did I not SEE that, esp as I have the one before (female relatives' or concubines' living quarters)? *Slaps self with wet fish.*
Ok looks like I'm stuck with 'em.......So it's put up and shut up or Brat Camp......Think I'll leave it'll be cheaper.
Happily, I'm done with bottles, car seats and diapers. WooHoo!! There are definitely trade-offs.
TBear - Stay. You'll be glad you did in the end. Child-rearing IS worth all the effort, promise.x
tbear -- YOU could come here. I have a very comfy guest room. We have wireless and a couple extra computers - you could still babble. and in peace.
Does anyone of a clue for the sa7? Please
musicmom, I am determined not to make it into an issue but must confess to removing myself from the room to weep in frustration more than once in the last few months! : /
Okay. Got 8 words left to find - those wretched re's from earlier.
Yep me too Smith. I teach infants through 7 year olds. Love those babies. --- Love giving them back to mama.
does any 1 have a clue 4 ar 6/18 5/10 ar 5/10
ar 6/18 gets up ( as in the morning)
Marigold - Hello. sa7 - condiment + 'anger'.
ar6/18 - old fashioned way to say 'gets up'
Oops that's the plural. the 5/10 is the singular. The other 5/10 is another word for your patootey.
I'm guessing that the girls are perfectly charming toward other adults -- how annoying that must be for poor mom! It's said that you know your children and secure when they treat you badly; they have no fear that you will abandon them.... (cold comfort, that)
'patootey'. What a great word! LOL. Never heard that one before.:-)
Around here when the girls are being good we call them cutie patooties.
any help with the ot?
ot6: ear infection
i don't see why we can have re5 (to sit again) but not its past tense
Thanks Gwenski - good morning.
ot6/18 is earache.
Ot** Reading - only spelled diffrent
Good morning -- Just 'lurking' while I'm working.
It's the babble way, hurshy (sign stealer). (kidding)
hey - i picked mine out weeks ago. :)
o +ti5/10 (the booby/birdy one).
Hi, gwenski. Impressive rhyme.:)
Unintentional, I assure you. I'll be around in-and-out for a while, then try to really work on the puzzle when I stop for lunch.
musicmom...very kind offer..and mab yes everyone else tell me how fab they are......Gggrrr Right off to face the music..see you all bit later
Courage, tbear!
'bye bear, take this with you ((x)) : )
Shew that one was rough. thanks for all the help. It took everyone's clues.
Bye, tbear. Hang in there.
YAY! FINISHED! '261 words. 2977 points. You have 0 words left to find.'
That was timely! Paul's just arrived home.:-)
Terrific Jacula. Way to go!!!!!!
Hurrah, Jacula!!!
I have 120 words left<g>
Thanks so much Jacula I kept looking in the wrong direction.
Yay, Jacula!!!! Does anyone else think that la7 word is stupid? Or is it just me?

I don't have that one yet Smith.
ar4/4...another word for your buttocks
Could you give me a clue for er7? Congrats!!!!!
Congrats on the finish Ouw...
Ar 5/10 to ar*** to the occasion. I ar*** from bed to find I am by myself. Thats the best I can do Billie.
Just got it. Maybe if I keep asking for clues, I'll figure it out by myself. It seems like every time I post a request, I immediately find the word.
smith ... it is built off the 6 just before it...3 letter ending having to do with chemistry
Brava, Owachita!!!
brb
Okay, I need the 2nd de6/21. I've got: de6/21- more valued de6/21- unseason de6/21-leave behind de6/21-want
smith...it sounds like fuel that trucks use...spelled different
Thank you!! I was looking for the same beginning as the last three.
thnk u i have that 1 its the 2nd and last 5/10 and 2nd b4 the last 4/4 for ar
Thank you Ouwachita and smithie.
it is very hard to turn the boxes grey today. i have only turned the bottom right A, even though i have over 150 words.
I'm down to two t's and eleven r's.
i am trying to put off using the list as long as possible.
Well, I thought I could make it, bt I must take a warm-up break with 32 to go... back later!
Jera Bye :)
Bye, jera. I've been trying not to use it the last couple of weeks, but today I don't have as much time, and it is bigger.
Losin' it. I'm looking all over for some l word and I've already finished l's.
Hard slog today but finished at last
Congrats Spellit.
Spellit - Congrats *%*%*%*
Fabulous, spellit!!
In UK if you fail an exam you are allowed to "resit" but Babble doesn't like it..
Thanks all - any clues needed?
Way to go, spellit!!!!!!!!!
Oh no. But babble will re sit you down.
Spellit - Oy 4/6 please.
Afternoon, Any chance of a clue for the sa7/28 please - I just so cant see it!!!!!
oy4/4 is sort of what the Town Crier used to shout in olde London town
Hi sis! : ) What you put on bland food plus anger : )
sa 7/28 is the cross of St Andrews or add anger to condiment
Spellit - just got it - but thanks.
sa7/28 is a St Andrew's Cross
St. Andrews Cross? Never would have gotten that - thank you.
Thanks - would not have found that in a month of sundays and am running out of time.
I'm missing one t. tr5 I've got tr5/10-the thing you hike on tr5/10- the thing you inherit tr5/10-overused
Hello, FMitch.
Are you missing out on the legal one?
Court tr5?
tr5/10 think of a court
Also, the re7 right after the second re4/4. I'm hoping that will springboard me. I'm down to all big words. Yuck.
smith tr5 - what happens in a courtroom
Well for pete's sake. Pass the fish.
re7/28 you do this in poker if you have a monster hand
Wow thanks for all the tr help. I wasn't there yet but I filled them in from the clues.
Greast clue, spellit, thanks :)
Hi guys and gals - running against the clock this afternoon, wor is piling in and it's BF b'day today. In fact just realised have 1 1/2hrs left to finish work, tidy up and get ready and finish grid - OK grid can wait. Stressed moi - you bet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, chic.
You're such a star hurshy (even if you do steal).
Yes we are sis. table booked , just have to finish wrapping girfts. Bubbly is in the fridge. Am going to go now, only 22 words left to find and a bejillion things to do that are not computer related. TTFN to all and good babble hunting.
sorry - hope it isn't annoying if i am being a cheering section for myself
Bye FMitch - have fun tonight.
Have a fab time sis, see you later! : )
Have a wonderful evening FMitch!! (tiny bit jealous here)
Yeah I'm down to under 100 words. I've been all over the alphabet today. It's going to be hard to figure out what I'm missing. I know I need help with the ea6/18
ea 6/18 - superlative of less difficult minus the t
Thanks Haz!
You're welcome, musicmom
Hurshy - I greyed one too!
ooh, which one musicmom?
I have 7 where I just need 1 more to grey it out, it is so frustrating!
I have four that are like that. There is an ar 5 that is eluding me as well as the at 7. I don't know which ar 5 I'm missing though. UGH!
see i haven't looked at the list so i really don't have a clue what i'm missing
The at 7 rhymes with the flower fre****
Okay the ar words the spaces the plural of backside the getting up What am I missing?
There's a plus re4/4 meaning actual
a + not fake
Perfect. Boy, Haz, I surely am thankful you are here today.
Thanks Hurshy. That's two more grey boxes for me.
I'll send you a bill when it's convenient....
haz, i don't get what flower you are referring to... :(
It's a really cold one with a memory problem.
thanx, hurshy, that was the one I was missing :-)
ohp! figured it out!
The lovely sweet-smelling flower often used in wedding flowers
Still have five pesky r's. all four of the lower r and one of the top row r. They're all 6's and 7's. Not good.
hi hurshy, i don't get that flower on either (glad I am not the olnly one)
Thanks hurshy. I don't like words like that, or ir6 -- one just doesn't speak that way!
lol, mab, you just helped me grey that i box!
Okay - the flower also sounds like a breed of cattle.
Minus the n at the end
oh i found it, just too many eeeeees (stupid fingers they need to learn how to spell)
hello evryone.....not going to get anywhere near finishing today....shouldn't have started !!! Has anyone got a nice little recipe for langoustines as a starter please ? ( or even the alternative spelling ( just for babble ) lingoustines !!
Last re7/28? re6/21? Help!!!! I'm desperate!!!
Hey aknitter and karys:)
Have you thought of undergoing another tr5/10?
Good morning, err, afternoon! Is it pretty bad today?
karys -- i had to google langoustines just to find out what they were LOL sorry no rcipes here
Oh My Gosh... What is it with that word? Sheeh. I'm gonna be black and blue from the fish. Hey bunny, by the way.
yes, greyed the other i box!
Hi karys! Where I come from we usually just eat them grilled with loads of garlic butter or peri peri sauce : )
Watch out world I'm on an sh run. .......
da 6/ 21, anyone, please
plural of lounge chair
Hi bunny : )
da6/21- Please, please don't eat them...
It's the plural of da4/5 -
Sort of misspelled. Or plural of podium word.
Hi Lola....thats about what I thought...'cept the 2 recipes I've got, one says grill the other says blanche..how long to they take to grill....and should I grill or do them on the griddle thing ?
Hello, all. Can only stay on a short time. Have to meet hubby for lunch at 12:30.
Hi Judi. Good sign. So sensible.
greyed the O!
Hi Judy. Does anyone have a clue for the re6/21?
Smith, you upgraded!? (Or I'm nutso bananas)
Um, karys, I've never cooked them myself...only eaten them in restaurants. They are very much like prawns though, so cooking time will be fairly quick. Over cooking them will probably make them tough and chewy, so beware! : )
greyed a T!
...and if it were me I'd do them on the griddle : )
thanks for looking aknitter : )
If overcooked, Karys, shred and say it's calamari.
Hurshy, my turn to self-encourage, I got all the sh words without help!
Bunny- I was always pro, just to daft to do the icon thing. Today however, I got tutelage. Yay, tutors!
LOL mab.....its only for the two of us....so if all goes wrong won't be too much of a problem
Way to go musicmom!!
i have got 200 words without the list. i am very impressed.
karys, are they frozen or fresh?
and only a few from clues, too.
Thanks smith. Don't think I'm going to be as talented with the re words. I keep skipping that section<G>
I hate re6 words.
Hurshy - that is terrific. I was too chicken to approach this one without the list.
But smithchick - it might be a lovely word when you find it...
haz and smithchick, I was trying to make a flower out of it, pass the fish!
yeah, i don't know what's gotten into me today.
Oh dear - I said it rhymed with a flower... sorry for the confusion.
Hi everyone! I believe I have figured out today's theme.
re6/21 Any of the Mediterranean plants of this genus, including the mignonette
Impossible. If it were a lovely word, surely it would have jumped right out at me. I think I might need the fish in my possession for a while, chic.
Hi judi and deutsch! : )
HI, Deutsch!!
afternoon babblers!!
I think I missed judi. So hello, judi!
there's plenty to go around, I like the tails myself...
ergh. i cannot for the life of me see what the t in the lower left corner is!!!!
Deutsch... I'm impressed that you can find a zebra for EVERYTHING!! You are dedicated!
Hi evaN! : )
Hi evanadine!
Hello evanadine. Didn't I see you on here in the dark of the night? Or the wee hours of the morning?
r
Thanks, smaller. I told my mom that if she ever signs on to look for a zebra.
Thank you spellit for the re6/21. I was despairing of ever finding it.
Hi Deutsch! 'mignonette' is a very nice word.
sorry for delay Lola.... preparing cottage pie for tomorrow night ( proper little domestic godess aren't I ?)....they are fresh today !!!
karys -- what is cottage pie? I think I live not only in another country but on another planet!!!
Hurshy, Did you find that "t" yet? I can't see it either.
If they are fresh then they should cook nicely on the griddle : )
no i haven't :(
It's a ta6/18. Has to do with ligaments or bones.
Thanks smithchick.
oh, of course! when you say it, it seems so obvious.
It took me forever to find it. And that was using the list.
thats what I'll do I think.... and make some garlic butter, melt it and pur it over....served with just a few leaves and some crusty bread...what do you think ?
Much like it is taking me forever to find my last re6/18 and re7/28. GRRRR.....
You shouldn't tell us that, smithchick - make us think you found it yourself....
There's lots of getting up and lifting up again in this grid, isn't there?
*lola thinks her tummy is rumbling and her mouth is watering!* ; )
well....let you know tomorrow hopefully....thanks for your help :)
I know. I should hold on to the illusion of brilliance for as long as possible. I'm sure I didn't tip anybody off with my lack of ability to have an icon. Shhh....Don't tell anybody that I'm daft.
It sounds lovely, Karys. Very yummy, and I wish I had some right now.
Karys, please do! : ) aknitter, cottage pie is savoury minced beef topped with mashed potatoes : )
Is that the same as Shepherds' Pie then?
Haz, that was perfect. Didn't get the getting up again. Those were the two I was missing. Duh!!! Told you I'd need that fish, chic. Thank you, haz!!! You can have my firstborn for that, as a matter of fact, take all three!
ok, i have 50 left and i think i am going to go to the list now. :(
sorry aknitter....missed your log....do you have something similar ?
That's about where I broke down, too hurshy. Anybody need any clues? Because I have ZERO left to find!!!!!
cottage pie sounds sort of like sheperds pie
yes mab.....some people say its shepherds pie with lamb and cottage pie with beef
Way to go smithchick. I have 76 more. Glad i don't have anything else to do today<G>
could never eat a lamb ... love the wool though LOL
mab, yes. Shepherds pie is minced mutton though : )
now that i have the list, i feel really stupid for not seeing ad8 before.
aknitter, I'm the same with veal : /
I see, thank you, Karys. Do have a delicious - I mean lovely time.
argh, i missed a plural!
thats funny lola....I can't do veal either !
thank you very much mab :)
didn't know veals had wool lola (LOL) i don't do veal either
LOL! : D
congrats, smithchick, how about the de 6/21's I have the last one
ok, help, i'm missing one of those 4 de 6/21's all in a row. i have: remove NaCl place with little precipitiation yearn
I do love lamb. The actual creature is, I think, a year old. It's still pretty awful, but I don't think they are the fluffy wee ones. Mutton, on the other hand, is so yech.
Hurshy. Those are the ones I have. I'm still missing the other.
The other de6 rhymes with fuel for a truck.
It is like big rig fuel spelled differently. de6
Actually, I eat little else than fish, tofu, refried black beans and rice. I do crave the other though.
hmm... but how...? i'm trying variants but not getting it still. :( also how about the es?
ah, got the de.
thanx, smithchick and gwenski!
hurshy, do you have de6, more expensive, or more precious?
es: more than one squiggly letter
es is plural of itself.
ok, REALLY i tried that before!
YW...
Hurshy. Start the de6 with de+first vowel then rhyme with the fuel.
smithchick - sorry, I was preparing dinner and so missed (a) your moment of triumph and (b) your offer to send your children to me. Sweet thought - thank goodness for the Atlantic.
how about the he 6/21 the second one?
he 6/ 21 funeral carriage
he6/21 - funeral car
he 6/21 drives you to your final destination clue for la7 please?
Haz, that isn't a problem. My husband is a pilot.:)
Right.....
la 7/ 32 toward the side or la 5/10 plus a TV commercial
But you've heard all the bad stories about Northern Ireland? Bombs and things?
oh, great, so the la8 isn't related? dang. but thank you anyway!
la7 is a stupidhead word. It works of la5/10 (the fifth one, I think). Hmmm.... At some point after, a business might run this in a paper. That's the best I can do.
whoa, monkeyed the la8 first guess!
la8/40 - an untimely ceremony
Haz, my son could give any scary people a run for their money.LOL
thanx, hurshy, haz and csmith... I need to shower and decide if I'm going out early today. c u later...
But you'd miss him if he wasn't around, wouldn't you?
So funny! Look out, Haz, he's on his way!
'bye chic : )
Let me guess - road signs as icons today ?
Bye chic. I'm about to be outta here, too. Any other clues before I go? The dryer just beeped at me telling me it is time to fold another load.
I keep wanting to use the "tion" in the corner to make spectacular words...
ME TOO BUNNY!!!!! (sorry very excited there)
Bye Smithchick - have a good day!
Yes, I'd miss my little angel. He can be very sweet. He's a very quick-witted kid. Good for several laughs a day.
Bye chic, smithie....I missed your finish, smithchick -- congratulations!
Hi cmith : ) 'bye smithchick : )
bye smithchick
lola - is that an elephant crossing? and mab - is that a pacman crossing?
Thanks, bye everybody!!!
Bye smith .thanks for all the help. Hurshy. Any clue on that La8? I'm not having as much luck monkeying it.
cmith, yes. Just something to remind me of 'home' : )
la 8/ 40 red soil or la 4/4 plus ceremonial act
THANK YOU!!!!!
Bah! 89 words left to find and I get called into work. How rude! Happy hunting everyone. Leave me lots of clues for when I return ;)
Very rude indeed, lol! 'Bye macuser : )
ok, need some help with re 6/18's. between gets up again and the 6/21, i only have put back in chair again, what is the other? then between the 6/21 and the final re7, i have to locate elsewhere and to follow again, what is the other?
bunnyvicious - lol until I peed my pants - I am so scared! re 6/ 18 take out the non-power boat again!
uhhh, could you re-type that?
cmith - i swear it wouldn't take that before! thanks.
I thought I tried that before also...
it wouldn't take it the first few times I tried it either Hurshy!
ah, monkeyed the other.
re 6/ 18 towards the back or misspelled following re 7/28
The stupid il word please. I know I have tried every combination possible and am going to need a fish with the clue.
il - add two vowels
Finally. I really think I typed that combination 20 times before it took it. <whine>
argh, missing an ra 4, and they would all have to be 4 points. i have what a train rides on, not frequent, the one that rhymes with lift, and the speed at which something goes, what is the other?
hurshy - ra plus vowels?
THANK you cmith!
bunnyvicious: wrt earlier comment - do you have an attack-bunny or a long-floppy-eared guard-rabbit or what?
Former President Jimmy Carter was nearly KILLED by a rabid rabbit.
Floppy eared, supersonic bunny! Uses the ears like nunchucks, pretty scary.
maybe I should have used bunnytender or bunnysweet...
sa 5/14?
Mab, I meant to look that up after you told me last time but never got around to it. He almost got rabies or?
sa 6/ 24 plural of sa 5/14 (Hebrew letters - alt spelling or poor man!)
and sa7?
sa 7/ 28 an heraldic design in the shape of St Andrew's cross OR a seasoning plus anger
i'm a little not up on all my hebrew letters... poor man, poor man...
Mab and bunny: he also visited Three-Mile Island during the almost meltdown. The man is a walking invitation to ukky things. I really like and respect him, but I am not going to stand beside him in an electrical storm
hurshy - useful page for Hebrew letters - and twiddle the spellings a bit
looked it up in psalm 119 :)
No, it was simply embarrassing. He was in a row boat and a deranged bunny swam toward him. He tried to shoo it away with his oar, but it persisted. Photographers recorded the incident for posterity. I'm not sure what ultimately happened to bunny.
Okay. I'm going cross-eyed here. I'm going to take a break for about an hour. I'll be back. I only have 47 words left and am determined to finish today. Thanks for the visiting and the help everyone!
last se 6/18?
See you later, musicmom.
se 6/ 18 a literary work (or TV programme) presented in installments am I the only one who works the puzzle geometrically?
Bye Music!
argh, fish fish fish
To hard with all the one point tiles, really comes in handy with the high pointers spread evenly through out the grid, but they are all bunched in the corner.
So, I have a list of all the words Babble will not accept - at least the ones that really bug me. Todays puzzle contains two of my most irksome. It accepts re6/18 meaning to put butt in a chair again! but it will not take "resit" and "resat" as resit/resat an exam
I agree, Cmith -- irksome!
I think it should take shart, snarf and doritio too!
And wasn't there a vicious bunny in a Monty Python movie?
gwenski - probably ran the Bureau of Silly Walks
Sorry, don't remember that part of the movie.
Holy Grail. I think they kill it with the Holy Grenade of Antioch.
I don't know about shart and Doritio (proper name) but Babble MUST take snarf - tell me it isn't so!
it was with the Enchanter called Tim
Unfortunately, yes, it is true. Pinky, nor The Brain, will be to happy about this! I hate to admit it, but I don't think that I've watched any Monty Python. Not that I remember.
I guess you need a warped sense of humor to enjoy Monty Python. And I assume I'm in good company?
Could I please have some help with the last er5/10, the first la5/10 and the re6/21?? : )
My pre-school nieces have memorised all the lines from all the Monty Python shows and movies, and they delivered them (deadpan) at the most inappropriate moments
LOL! great icon, Bunny!
I do especially like the bureau of silly walks. AT 7, please? I know it must be obvious, but cannot see it.
Hi smaller : )
at 7/ 28 intestinal disease where something closes (or remains open) when it should not
Hey all, I 'm back for more... hopefully to finish this time...
Hi jera : )
er5 : Think the words of a song, without the first letter.
Well that's not so obvious -- thank you!
ty, I just refreshed, was wondering what pac man had to do with the right left sign?
Thanks gwenski, I have missed that one before : /
Hi Lola! Is yours a "look up for elephants"? hahahaha that's probably a yield sign not an up arrow
Oh, hurshy has the keep right sign as well, so I changed.
re 6/ 21 mignonette flower or re plus to plant in ground (minus a vowel) plus a vowel
first la5/10 sounds like plural of (misspelled) li**'s den
smaller, LOL! Yes, it's a 'beware, elephants may wander out of the bush and onto the road' sign. : )
or, la5 and penates, that great comic duo of the '40s.
Lola, that's good b/c I'd worry so if you were in a torrential elephant rain area. Cats and dogs are bad enough. Elephants would hurt. a bit
lola100: I kinda like smaller's interpretation - watch out for falling elephants
OK, that was fun! Lovely lot of REs LOL!
cmith, thank you! And you are right, her interpretation is more colourful, lol! : D gwenski, thanks...working on that : )
Or, lola, it could rhyme with the plural of nostrils.
Yay! Got it! Thanks gwenski, I'm all done : )
Congrats! Now, could you help on the sa5/14 & sa6/24? I think I'm brain dead.
hi all - is today really a day...or a nightmare??? 8)
gwenski, sa5/14,think opp of happy and opp of she. Pluralise for the 6 : )
afternoon again babblers! back from lunch!!
Thanks! (Maybe I'm not completely brain-dead after all! That's a new combo for me.)
Hi ren : ) I hate to finish and run, but I have to go. See you all tomorrow : )
Bye lola.

Hi again, everyone! back for a bit before I start my merry adventure to radio shack
I by-passed the one showing the intersections of Seamen Avenue and Cumming Street but maybe it is a better fit for Babblers than I thought
ROFLMAO!! LOVE the icon, evanadine!! Hi Ren!! Hang in there!!
LOL Cmith, I opted over that one too, funny, but I worried about some of the teens that came in...
doh! i just realized that since my computer doesnt refresh the way it used to that i may not see all the lovely gifts you all are gonna have for me tomorrow!! i guess i may hafta clean out my cache a few times throughout the day and cross my fingers!
Bye all. Work calls again. Hopefully I'll be able to get the remaining 8 re's tonight at home. (I promise I will NOT lurk, but work, work work!)
hey smaller...i'm cliff hanging...not that i know anyone names clif....8)
Are we supposed to bring b/d present icons for evanadine tomorrow?
ren, how odd. i'm on the same cliff. yet you are states away.
yup cmith
Hi All!! Just driving by.....
evanadine: Oooohhh goody. Did you make a list? Is Dr_god going to give you a 400+ word puzzle?
Hey Tink!!!
csmith -- i think id faint if it were that large! i like the short ones...hehe... tomorrow isnt so must pictures of gifts, but pictures of what you would give me -- what would be *IN* the box. ;)
Anyone need a clue or two before I get?
*crawls, panting and dusty, across the finished line* Rejoice, we conquer!
bunny - before you get - what?
woohoo jera! bunny, i have 200 left. would probably help if i looked at the grid. woohoo for you on being done though!
Smaller!!! How goes it on the cliff, mines a little jagged today.... Congrats Jera!!!
lol, zipping mouth on that one.... laundry done.
wtg, jera and bunny!
*stands up, dusts self off & flasshes a bright smile at everyone* Does anyone need any help?
going back to work....8) hey shro!!!
Hey Renfield, Bye Renfield!!! Congrats Bunny
Oh, I need plenty of help, I just hate paying by the hour.
*hangs up sign that reads... FREE HELP (but you get what you pay for)*
Hi all ..grandchild number 5 just left after playing with nan all day,any clues please for the last re6/18 and the re7/28 ty
re 7/28, to go to court again re 6/18 - remove a vowel from one above Hi Cait!
re 6/ 18 towards the back or misspelled following re 7/28 re 7/ 28 take into a law court again!
Jera, okay I've got the world's most vicious dog coming in for remedial socialising and I could use some help. Oh! You mean with the puzzle? *sorry*
Jera, I love your icon by the way, I'm a faerie nut!
TY bunny (hi) and Cmith and all !! Cant stop long but i am such an addict i had to have my fix of babble!!
Thanks, none of the real road signs spoke to me... so I did faery sign!
Sorry Cmith... I don't do dogs...
Ohh-kee-doh. If no one needs a clue, I'm gonna get the laundry goin', or maybe play Lord of The Rings....hmmm
bye bunny! Have fun!
Bye Bunny

Got it, ty
And naturally, I see it just now!
*waves from behind huge tissue* hi...*sobs*
what's wrong, miyavi??
Thanks, Une! Miyavi, what are you listening to now?
Are you sick, too, Miya??
The song I'm listening to just made me burst into tears! Completely out of the blue :/
yw
Oh no! What happened Miyavi?
Don't worry, I'm just being over-dramatic!
That happens to me too, Miya. I think it is very normal.
Oooh...which songs set you off?
Sometimes it's a song that reminds me of someone, or something we did together (think men, here). Sometimes I just need to weep and put on something sad, like the soundtrack of Shindler's list. That sounds strange, but it helps me to get cried out.
Well, if I am not needed, I will be going back to bed... must rest up before I have to go pick up the Gwydion...
And sometimes it is a piece of music that is just so sweet and beautiful that sets me off.
Doesn't sound strange to me! The song I was crying over was played at the funeral of someone very special...which may explain it
Take care, Jera.
soundtrack from Schindler's List . . . ohmygod
I aways cry at the end of Beethoven's ninth! I get emotional just thinking about it.
rest well, Jera!
I know Shindler's List sounds extreme, but it is beautiful and I don't think about the move. Just the music.
not extreme at all . . . I well remember how moving the music was . . .
Do you know that song 'You Never Walk Alone,' from the musical 'Carousel?' That was sung at my mother's funeral and then at my grandmother's funeral two weeks later. I tend to avoid that song. (even though Sinatra sings it)
I don't blame you...that's awful :/
Mab, is that the song Jerry lewis sings at the end of his marathon?
Probably. It's quite sentimental. I'm sure Jerry Lewis really lays on the schmaltz.
His version is schmaltz. But I'm sure the versions you heard were tasteful and moving. It's a wonderful song.
The ninth is very stirring. Years ago I listened to it before I met with my professors! For strength!
I have less than 100 to go, but I must be on my way to radio shack. see you!
Later Deutsch.
Oh, well, if you're going to talk Beethoven. Yes, I find it empowering.
I'm going to hear the 7th in a couple of weeks.
Beethoven and I share the same birthday. His music is so intense that you can really get emotional. I always want to move around after a beethoven symphony. Especially the seventh.
The first ti 4?
Oh, wow, I didn't see your post before I posted. Interesting.
Then I'll always remember your birthday. I almost suggested Beethoven as an icon theme the last time you celebrated your birthday.
Wow, we were sharing the brain at that point! LOL
I'm definitely leaving now. Nice talking music with you, mab!
You are in the Baltimore area, Deutsch? Will the new conductor be installed by then?
Afternoon all! I'm back for another go at this grid!
musicmom: push off kilter?
I have that one csmith. I also have the small bird, the one before that with the r in it and the one that goes on my car. I don't know what I'm missing.
Hi Jen. I have been pottering about all day. I should really concentrate and just finish this.
I'm down to 30 words. I really want to finish this one today.
I've got TONS left, but I am finally up near the top on the rankings and I don't want to set that back. :)
Mab, just came to IM someone and saw your post. No, she doesn't arrive until next year. It's at the Peabody Conservatory here.
I must get out there next year. I loved the controversy about her.
musicmon: light colour?
That was a joke! The paper made too big a deal about it. REally infuriated those of us who knew the story.
Music: do you have to add color?
but would love to meet you in person and go to a concert either there or at Peabody. (I get free tickets to the Peabody concerts)
Some men just cannot get their minds around a woman conductor. They's rather see a female president before a conductor!
Ugh! see y'all la5
i;d love it. I may even be living in the area by next year. Ok, go to radio shack
OHHHH csmith. Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!
Musicmom- 'skay - the little ones will get you every time
The problem was I couldn't even figure out what it was I didn't have.
The last ta6/18 and ta5/10
OOOOPs Those should have been te6/18 and te5/10 sheesh
The last te 5/10 I have means short and abrupt in speech.
I have to speak concisely or speak very little, and the plural of to joke with or taunt.
Okay I have that one. Is the last 6/18 a plural of the 5/10?
I'll read back through the log for these. Hannah has homework and needs help. Be back later. I am going to finish this today.
Either you will finish the grid or the grid will finish you!
ok, i'm back, and i need help. can someone tell me for starters just the 3rd letter of the first ti5?
I make it r
hurshy - is that the plural of the previous ti4 - the things on your car?
it's the first letter, hurshy
hurshy it is a crown to go on your head
Sorry - it's the a - think princesses
no, no, the very first - joey's on it!
omg, i need the biggest fish ever. i need jonah's fish. i WANTED it to be that, i looked for that, i couldn't see it, and i am the stupidest person ever.
and now i'm done!
WHAT a bad note to end on.
jonah's was a mammal and you're so far from being stupid, it's ridiculous.
Brava hurshy!!!!! Hurshy, ever see the film 'Emperors' Club?'
actually i don't think it was. i believe the biblical account says "big fish" and everyone just thinks of whales.
nope, never saw it.
congrats hurshy, glad I could help. I have about 50 to go, but don't think I am going to finish
It is about a prep school teacher at a school for boys - Kevin Kline. I think it might be interesting to you. It lacks the pathos of other movies about kids that age.
sure you will joey, with plenty of time and us to help with clues?!? piece of cake.
i think my sister likes that movie.
nah, I am trying to squeeze it in at work and am just about out of time. will try though. great you finished
it was, well, interesting. It focuses on the son of a U.S. senator. He's a real nosebleed, but is challenged to behave honorably. No happy ending, just a logical one.
i always finish, barring internet unavailability, 14 hour driving days, and such.
And I'm sure you're right about the fish. I doubt the original aramaic or hebrew distinguished water mammals from fish.
and who knows, maybe there was some huge species of fish that is extinct now?
It's the Loch Ness monster now.
i wish that I could, Hurshy, I admire you a lot for being able to do that. Maybe when I get a new home computer....8)
sounds like you need one, joey!
income tax refund time is coming..... yippee skippee, new one for me
hmm, no refund for me this year. i am finally a tax-paying citizen!
oh, sorry to hear that. I use mine as a bonus for my being "good" during the year....... ha
it's ok, i don't mind paying my taxes. after all, i do use the roads! but ugh, i better go. i have a calculus test to concoct.
Taxes? I feel like we are paying up the wazoo this year, but this is the first time we have ever had to pay state income taxes... went from being Florida residents to citizens of the "commonwealth" of Virginia! I hope we get something back!
any clues for ti 7/32?
It's what you are when you are wearing a ti5/10
unfortunately I don't have ti 5/10 either
ti 7/ 32 past tense of ti 5/10 (as a verb - put crown-like jewelry on head) ti 6/ 18 plural of ti 5/10 (crown-like head jewels)
ti5/10 - headgear worn by princess - like a little crown
gee, just tuned in again --- "Emperor's Club" was a good film, directed by Michael Hoffman, who also did "One Fine Day" with George Clooney. My little claim to fame is that I went to college with him and we did some plays together in theatre.
That is, college with Hoffman, not Clooney (unfortunately, though Mike was pretty cute too)
That's impressive ch1212. You know people. Or at least, person.
Well, it was years ago, back in the mid-70's. Mike was a talented guy even then. And very, very nice. I mean, a truly decent man.
The film was well done. It so easily could have dissolved into pathos at any point, and it never did.
He's good that way --- has a lot in common with Ron Howard, who directed Cocoon, Cinderella Man, Apollo 13, etc. He's also directing the upcoming DaVinci Code. Should be good.
Any clues out there for the at7? I couldn't understand the one about rhyming with the flower. Please and thanks!
I have a blind spot for that one. Still looking.
at 7 ends like when you lose your mind. goes at consonent second vowel squiggly consonent third vowel first vowel.
Sorry, I'm working backwards and still in the li's. :)
joey, THANK YOU! I finally got it! And NOW I understand the flower clue ... duh. Hand me a trout.
Here you are! *Lobs trout over.*:-)
help with the second set of re8's? all I have left are re's, and i only have the first six of those.
At7: The absence or closure of a normal body orifice or tubular passage such as the anus, intestine, or external ear canal. (What a way to make an entrance!)
yvw.... sometimes clues just don't do it, need to be hand led... i need that a lot..
thx, jacula, judi -- what a definition! Let's just not go there :)
re 7/ 28 move higher again! or ante for poker again! or increase salary again! re 8/ 45 past tense of re 7/28 (moved higher again!) re 8/ 40 3rd person singular, present tense (plural) of re 7/28 (moves higher again)
Thanks Judi! I just wasn't getting the flower/consonant/vowel thingy! :/
I shall have words with gramma next time we meet. I was persuaded to start this grid against my better judgment, but wasn't warned about the re's. I've only just finished them, and still have all above them to do. "You have 120 words to find". ahhhhhhhhhhhh
re7/28 - to ra5/10 (elevate) again re8/45 - past tense of above
re8/40 - active tense of the re6 & 7.
ExWren, no worries -- the hardest part is over!
re6/18 & 7/28 - to get up out of bed again, present & active.
Ex-Wren, is that the arch in Roma on your icon, the one near the coliseum?
re6/18 - to set out to sea again re6/18 - to give another chair to :-)
re6/21 - 1. Any of various Mediterranean plants , including the mignonette, having densely flowered terminal racemes and divided petals. 2. A grayish or dark green to yellow green or light olive.
ah, yes. Thanks joey. I new it had to do with the word for foyer.
Can someone tell me why I can't see the li6? (meaning... can I get a clue pretty please?!?!!?) :)
re6/18 - to relocate re6/18 - to sell
Jen, I found it tough... finally got it. Think of a person who connects, a li**** for (perhaps) a consulate office.
re6/18 - 1. Situated at, located close to, or directed toward the back. 2. Backward; reverse. re7/28 - what a prisoner might demand if wrongly convicted.
Was that enough for the re's?
wow! thanks for all the clues, Jacula!!
When trying to find the li6 & the associated 7s following it, remember that the word contains TWO i's.
Thanks ch! I kept trying that one without the extra "me" vowel. :)
help with the sa 7 please?
sa7/28 - a cross with diagonal bars of equal length. Think sa(condiment) + short word for 'anger'.
Hi everyone, I'm back and finally have the DVD hooked up and working. Anybody have any DVDs I could borrow? LOL
sa7 means: An ordinary in the shape of a Saint Andrew's cross, formed by the crossing of a bend and a bend sinister... but it looks a lot like a common cracker made by Nabisco only the 'n' is an 'r'... if that makes sense. :)
tyvm,,,,,,,,,, preciate the help, both ways.
deutsch, I have "Dora" and "Thomas the Tank Engine" and "Bob the Builder" which would you like?
Hi Joey!! Hi Jen!!
And I have Wiggles, Sesame Street, and Kim Possible (all of them!)... ;)
hi smaller
hope you're having a good day
Hey smaller! How are you today?
Hey Joey, you should post your baseball hunk photos as your icons for the next few days. Jen, i'm failing at this grid. I only have 86 words. Work is just not being nice to me lately
I've got 'Stoppit & Tidyup', 'Fireman Sam', 'Count Duckula' and lots of Disney films, Smaller. Anything take your fancy?
Jacula, lol! They're actually for Deutsch, she has a new DVD player and asked for DVD's. My repetoire is limited in genre but compensates with quantity.
smaller, some of these words really kicked my butt today! But I am doing so much better on the rankings page I felt compelled to not give up! LOL
Jen, the rankings page makes me te4/4-y.
Oh, and Deutsch, I also have the entire John Wayne library and the 1st season of Magnum, PI. :)
Jacula, Jen and smaller! Thanks so much. They all sound like fun. I like some of those shows very much. LOL
Jen, the first movie my dad watched on his first VCR was true grit. By the end of Christmas break, everyone was quoting (and sorta sounding like) the duke.
help please on the de6/21 that is not associated with table condiment, wanting, or the sandy place... please and thanks!
smaller, your wish is my command, not the best, though
Deutsch, my son is named for the John Wayne in The Searchers... Ethan.
Jen, that's a good name and a good movie
de6/21 - sounds like lorry fuel (DERV). Anagram of the sea-going sa4/4 (+ past tense).
"your wish is my command" wow, wish i heard that more! thanks joey. kinda dark though. who is it?
Thx, Jacula -- I'll work on it from those clues
y/w, CH.
pete mackanin, former manager of the pittsburgh pirates. i am very disappointed about how dark the pix is, it is the darkest of the ones that i took that time/place..
joey, wouldn't it be just a hoot if he babbled?!!! i always wonder that: i wonder if any celebrity babbles. well besides ren. she IS a movie star
oooooooh, what movies? what did I miss?
Thanks for the DVDs. I'll return them when I've watched them all twice. I'm going to see if I can learn how to use the remote. Doesn't really matter. We spend half the time looking for the TV remote. *scoops up DVDs*
Does anyone have a clue for the ti7? Please
joey, well i didn't recognize the names. but she's been in 2!!!!
ti7/32 - what a princess is when wearing her jewelled headgear.
deutsch, oh sure. deprive my cute little boy of his favorite movies. shame shame
how cool for her..... I will have to ask. down to 8 to go. have about an hour in between work to try to get them.... dreadful re's.
ah, yes, smaller. *hands back a few DVD* *quickly leaves before anyone else asks*
marigold, to be small-crowned... take the thing that Miss America wears and make it past tense. In terms of TV, I was the anchor on a kid's news show when I was in elementary school! Oh, and Cheryl Hines (from Curb Your Enthusiasm) was my babsitter! :)
ok. I'm down to my very last word. It is an RE 6/18 (I think). THe ones I have are: get out of bed again go to sea again offer a chair again olive green to sell toward the back which one am I missing?
marigold are you here?
Joey - if you scroll back a bit I put lots of clues on for re's.
I'm sure these are staring me in the face, but I can't find two of the ta6/18's... I have the one to do with a bone. HELP thanks!
Angel - re6/18 - to relocate.
Thank you so much Jacula. I can't believe it was right there in front of me.
tks Jac, i will take a look when i figure out what i need
Marigold - the ta6/18s are both related to bones in the foot.
Hi, marigold!!! Hi Everyone!!!
Hi periwinkle!!!!! :)
I'm all done! I can't believe it, but I did finish!
WTG Angelsong!!!!!
****!!!!!!***!!***!!!!!! Angelsong!!!!!
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR ANGELSONG*~*~*~*~*~
Hello!
Hiya Peri, Harp and anyone else I've missed.
Hey gang! I'm down to my last 28 words. I'm going through with brandyjack's list to try to figure out what I'm missing.
Hi, Jacula!!!
I'm sorting some files out but I'll be around and about - so, if anyone wants any clues just knock on my monitor. Not too hard, mind, 'cos it's a soft screen.:-)
Had to change my icon from the Idaho 'deer crossing' to this -- far more appropo considering I STILL can't figure out the de6 I'm missing DESPITE Jacula's most excellent clue of 'anagram sa4/4 +past tense.... The sign reads WRONG WAY - GO BACK! in case you can't see it... help!
ch - try this: de + anagram of the sa/4 that's found on a yacht.
(The lorry fuel is not petrol but d*****.) Hope that helps.
The last er5/10?
Thanks again, Jacula... I'm trying every possible combination -- again. Clearly, I'm not trying the right one :) but at least I'm still smiling. It's my last word.
musicmom, a great clue awhile back was, think of the words to songs, they come in v*****. Drop the v.
so... come on all of you clever ones... how do you finish so often? lol
Only with each other, ukfzz, only with each other.
Thanks CH. I got so busy looking at the grid I forget to watch the log for the clue. I've got it now:-)) UK I would never finish if it weren't for these clues.
It's amazing how you can try every combination possible and still miss the word. Then you see a clue and BAM - it was there all along . 'doh
ch1212, try googling: a Gaelic word that derives from the same root as the Latin dexter, “right, right-handed".
Those weird symbols should be quote marks, by the way. :)
What'd I miss? I was making a Cosmopolitan! ;)
Can someone tell me which li the roaring mammal is? I'm trying to figure out which li4/4 s I'm missing.
Well, I have half of the words, tired from work. may be back later, time for dinner
MM, it's the king of the jungle.
musicmom, do you have "king of the jungle"
Yep I have the word I need to know where in the list it appears. i.e. which li 4/4 is it?
Figured it out. I'm good. Thanks everyone.
how many words are there please ?
261 total words today. :)
Thankyou.....
These pesky "re" words. UGH! Jac thanks for the clues earlier. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm missing so I can use them.
Okay, moving on.... How about ho 6/24 and ho6/21
hello again, can I have a ckue for the sa7/28? plz...
NaCl + one wheel on your car.
thanx, musicmom!
No problem.
evenin babblers!
Hi Eva. Can you believe I'm still doing this? I'm down to 17 words. Will not quit!
heh, i still have 113 words...not even attempting to finish...
I really thought I was going to be done earlier this afternoon.
I still have 161 words left to find GGRRRRR........
Melissamay, Jacula -- THANK YOU!!! Finished! This one was a toughie, and there's no way without all of you. Adios! (a babbler told me she likes that way of saying good-bye because it's A-Dios (to God). Now it's my favorite way of signing off too!
i hardly babbled all afternoon at work -- wanted to get a lot done today so i can sit on my duff for my bday ;) then i had a lotta stuff to do when i got home, so im only just signing back on...heh
really? "hottie" isnt a word? but i use it all the time!!
I'm STILL in my pajamas. Okay, well I took a shower and put on clean pajamas. I was serious about not getting dressed today> I have done five loads of laundry, made a 100th day of school vest with Hannah, checked homework and handed down the chores. I'm not a complete slug.
Gee evanadine (she says drily) I wouldn't have guessed that from your sign (teehee*)
No hottie isn't a word - although if it were a word, I would only need one ho instead of two.
who, meeeee? ;)
you need 2 ho's MM? gee, how greedy! ;)
Yeah. hohos you know chocolate covered cakes with gooey goodness:-))
well, I see the conversation is rapidly deteriorating...too bad I have to leave! ;)
hehe, good try MM ;)
ch - chicken:-))
must. not. get. sore. throat. for. birthday!!
You all might want to leave the room while I scream! I'm going all the way back to the beginning of the log today to see if there is any way to figure these words out. be back soon.
No no don't get sick.
i have the 2 Ti 8s those are my long ones...hehe
is there even a word with the "x" in it today?
if there is, i havent found it...but i still have just over 100 to go
I haven't used x yet and I have 16 words left.
evanadine...i beg u for clues to your 2 ti 8's?
cathy -- take your Ti6 that is a beauty queens crown. * add a 2-letter past-tense suffix. * add a 2-letter plural suffix.
any clues for the sa 7/28 please this is my last one and cant see it for looking must be getting tired
rosa condiment +anger=scots flag
Rosa, sa7 seasoning plus emotion
Evan, am still working on the grid, but I don't think there are (2) ti8's. There is a ti7/21. Right?
I'm still around if anyone needs clues. Still sorting and labelling photos. Just knock on the monitor if you need me!:-)
Okay I need ho6/24 and ho6/21. I also need li 6/18,li7/32,li7/28 Please anyone?
yeah mary, youre right.... i combined my Ti7 with my 2 Re8s oops!
Past & present tense of the ho5/12 before them, MM.
Got it thanks jtdp and mary off now bye
musicmom, Ho6's, add on to your ho5/12
Need a HUGE fish. I feel incredibly stupid. Thanks Jac.
Thanks Mary
li6 & 2 7s - all related. 'act between parties with a view to reconciling differences'. Remember, when you make the word(s) that there are TWO i's in it!
MM - would a giant cod do? Some of them grow massive if the size of their drying heads on racks at the roadsides in Iceland are anything to go by. (I went there for the day on my 40th birthday.)
That would be perfect. Make sure they are old and stinky. I think I need two. Thanks for the li's. I ended up doing the reverse dictionary thing because I could not figure out where those stupid 'i' s went. Now I have to go back to the list because I'm STILL missing an l word
don't have any ho 5's or ho 6's. wahhhh!!! Help?
MM - They are old & stinky, believe me! REFRESH to see a pic of the drying racks on my icon.
replace the n of the no5 that means sounds with an h.The sixes are related to that word.
eeeewwwwwwwww
Cathyar, ho5/12 is to lift something very heavy but change last letter, and build on to that for the 2 6 letter words
2 of the ho4's have to do with gardening
la 7/32 and 8/40? Please
very odd...i tried those b4 and it wouldn't take them... not the first time that's happened to me tonite though....very strange. Thanks a bunch for the aid though!!! :)
MM - When I asked Hedda, our guide, WHY we had to get out of the coach to smell the fish, her reply was that since we (British) had stopped them whaling then we could put up with the stink of the fish.:-( Actually, she was a very nice lady and we got on well.
la7/32 - 'toward the side'. Add a short word for a tv commercial to the la5/10 before it.
Kristin la7/32 Toward the side; away from the mesial plane la8/40 a red soil produced by rock decay
Hehehe. Jac that is funny. What about the last te6/18 and te 5/10?
Kristinarose la7/32 - take your la5/10 and put what a tv commercial is called
TY.. I got both
la8/40 - A red residual soil in humid tropical and subtropical regions that is leached of soluble minerals, aluminum hydroxides, and silica but still contains concentrations of iron oxides and iron hydroxides. (Add 3 letters to the end of the tardier la5/10 before. Like at the end of Yos***** Sam.)
Last te6/18 is the plural of the te5 above it.
Is the te 5 before it the one that me sharp or short in speech?
Last te5/10 - Brief and to the point. Rhymes with the v's that poems have.
Okay then I have that one. I'm missing the te5 that also needs the te6 plural. Are you ready to kill me yet?
No, the te5/10 before the 6 is an anagram of ' I tear'.
MM - No, can't kill you. I already 'shot' someone when they asked on here earlier in the week. Only allow myself one a week. LOL.
Boy am I lucky I got stupid later in the week<g>
I've saved the worst for last. the r's, s's and t's. I need to shut down from one place and sign on later. Hopefully I will get finished!! 117 to go!!
Hooray! Done! Finally! Some interesting words in today's grid
Jac - got them finally. I made chocolate chocolate chip cookies today. Can I send you some for your trouble?
*~*~*~*FIREWORKS FOR MACUSERS*~*~*~*~
*or even for MacUser.
MM - That'd be very nice! Thank you.:-)
Yay! My first fireworks :) Thanks Jacula!
mmmmmmmmm.........ice cream makes throat feel better. :D
Just going to get rid of these fish racks. They stink!
Here's a dozen. How about the last ta 5/10? (I also need the 6 but figure it is the plural)
MM take your ta4/4 and add a vowel
Glad to see the sign back. Didn't like the fish smell.
last ta5/10 - ta4/4 + 1st person singular pronoun.
and for the ta6, add another vowel
last ta6/18 - same as the 5 but also add a definite article at the end.
Thanks! Got to figure out what I'm missing. I thought I was done. This thing is boggling my mind today
Jacula - your clues are much more refined than mine :)
MM - don't say 'boggle' - that's another game! LOL.
Macuser - Often the pincer movement of 2 lots of clues helps more people than you might realise.:-)
OOps. giggle. Actually I really need all the clues I can get.
I'll go back to my photo files and do some more labelling whilst you're sorting out what you need, MM.
That is true, but still...
Mac - You keep on giving clues. The more clues, the merrier!
Thanks for the encouragement, Jac :)
Here Mac how about this one sa6/24
MM Plural of your sa 5/14
la dee da... waiting for download to complete... how are the babblers?
Hi hurshy I'm a babbling idiot at the moment, heh
UGH!! I'm down to one stinkin word. It is an r word but I cannot for the life of me begin to tell you which one I'm missing. Don't list them all again. Let me go back in the log again. I know we have been over and over this today.

BTW thanks Mac I didn't even know what that 5/14 was I got it from a clue earlier.
Yes hurshy, finally!
You're welcome, MM :)
Hi Hurshy!:-)
help with li7/28 and li7/32 please
MM - My clues didn't include the first 6 re's.
Peri - li6 & 2 7s - all related. 'act between parties with a view to reconciling differences'. Remember, when you make the word(s) that there are TWO i's in it!

Peri - li6 clue. Many companies have a Client Li***** Officer.
MM do you have the one about going to court again?
li 6/18 - someone who acts as a go-between is a li7 (different ending - not in puzzle). this li6 is the verb.

MM - change location?
I know this is pathetic but will you give me the 3rd letter? I htink that is the one I'm missing.
s
MM - res.
MM How about the one that's like the going to court one but minus a vowel?

*~*~*~*FIREWORKS FOR MUSICMOM*~*~*~*~ (Hope she can hear them above all that singing and dancing!)
congrats, musicmom!
Thank you thank you (bow bow bow) I dedicate this grid to all my patient friends in cyber land.
Way to go, MM! Good job!! :D
Hurrah, musicmom!!!!!
Oh yeah I hear them popping in the air.
How pathetic is it that I dedicated my entire day to finishing?
MM - Hope that's the fireworks you can hear and not my Other Half; I gave him cabbage again tonight.:-(
lol, Jac
this is going to take FOREVER. i'll just have to let it run and go do something else (i'm downloading iTunes. trying to jump on the wave of the future, or something.)
MM - Not pathetic at all! You decided to have a day off doing what you wanted to do. Everyone deserves a day like that every now and again.x
hehehheee. That's funny. I'm just excited because I'm done before my other half gets home. I am going to quilt tonight while Law and Order is on.
er7/28 and ti7/32 anyone?
MacUser. I am also a macuser and I love my iTunes. I even got an iPod for our anniversary last year. I love to use it in the car to listen to NPR podcasts and do lesson prep.
I must go now and fix some dinner. Happy babbling everyone! :)
Hurshy - I know how you feel! I'm sick of titling photos. Why, oh why, do I (and others) save them on here without removing the automatic numbering and changing it to a title?? AARRRGH!
ti7 = wearing a ti5 . . . yes, believe it or not, it's a word!
Bye mac. Thanks for the help.
ti7 = having placed a crown on one's head
Yay! Another Mac person :)
Oops, I already had the ti7 but thanks anyway,
Yes, the ti7 is a real adjective. It's in both the big Oxford and the big Collin's dictionaries.
er7 = waves do this to the shoreline...except replace the second vowel.
Peri er Think land wearing away but change the middle vowel to the 1st vowel.
Cathy and musicmom, thanks got it
still looking for the sa5
er7/28 - the act of rubbing out or obliterating. (You do this when you rub out your incorrect, pencilled-in crossword answers.
Cathyar - the sa5/12 or the sa5/14?
have the re8's that mean to lift up again, may I have cluies for the other re 8's please
sa5/14 sorry
sa5/12 is the plural of the sa4 before it. (There's a singer of that name.)
sa5/14 = unhappy + masculine pronoun
Peri do you have the re7/28? The words you are looking for build off it. I just RE***** you needed a clue.
sa5/14 & its pl. the 6 below it - The 18th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. (Add the 8th letter of the English alphabet to the sa4 previously mentioned.)
thanks musicmom, I usually see those words spelled with a "z" in the middle
Yep me too. It took me forever to find them.
help with the la8/40 please
la4/4 + opposite of wrong
I don't know what it means. It starts with the la5 meaning not now and ends with a science suffix
une and musicmom, thanks got it
have all the 8's , missing an re7 but don't know which one
I think I am missing the re that means to relocate, but can't find it
do you have the one that means going back to court? getting out of your chair again? starting a new family? the other one is related to the other re word I gave earlier.
Peri, To relocate --- think about the re word that means to say a poem. Change the middle consonant.
Peri - Start with either 'r' then go to the 'e', then down to the right, up to the right, up to the right, across to the right. Voila!
Jacula and musicmom, I only came up with an re6/18 with your clues
down to 3 words and am missing one I'm sure is uber obvious . . . ti4/4 above "very small" and after big crown words . . .
siiiiiiigggggghhhh... can't beat dinner made by others and son bathed by grandparents!!!!! I'm baaaaaaack! :)
It's a light color. hue
sorry, already have that one--there's another one, right?
peri - where does a construction worker work? On a building s***. re + that word.
A sideward lean
Jacula, got that one, it is an re6/18 , I still need an re7, have the ones musicmom mentioned
aaahhh, thanks so much--that's been driving me nuts!!
or the end of a pinball game for the ti4
re7 - to elevate again. (?)
Do you have the one that is going back to court minus the 3rd vowel in the middle?
Jacula, have those 3, thanks
re7/28 - to 'see the light'. (?)
re7/28 - gets up out of bed again. (?)
HALLELUJAH, I'M DONE!!!! Woohoo!!!!
Jacula, have them, musicmom, don't understand your clue- have the going to court again, but when I don't use the 3rd vowel the word is not accepted.
re7/28 - try in court again. (?)
Jacula, Bingo, had the singular but not the plural, thank you
I have a six letter re word that is the seven letter word minus the personal pronoun vowel.
uni, double HALLELUIA!!! So have I---Just
up to 160 which is more than half, going to bed early, see you all tomorrow!!!
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR UNE*~*~*~*~
Terrific Une. I missed that you were done because I was helping Peri. Here have a cookie.
congrats, exwren!!!
And *~*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR EXWREN*~*~*~*~
mmmmm, delish . . . thanks!
Good night Peri.
Congrat! Exwren. It was a tuffie.
'Night, Peri. Sleep well. Don't Babble in your dreams!
WTG everyone who has finished!! :)
Hey all. I'm still here for a while if anyone needs help. I'm folding towels and quilting but my computer is right by my chair.
Octopus Mum, oops! I meant MusicMom - How do you fold towels AND quilt??:-)
Hello everyone... are you present ?? Kim - Colorado???
hello all Been spending way to much time on the ra's need some help on the last three on the list, the last ra 5/10, ra 6/18 and the last ra 5/10. Any clues pls
last ra5/10 is the plural of the ra4/4.
ra6/18 is those who ra4/4. Think, if you didn't like something a lot you might say, I didn't ra** that much.'
ty Jac my oh my just looked at the re's lord help me, don't think I'm finishing this puzzle tonight
Sheryl - if you scroll back there are lots of good clues for the re's.
ty Jac I will do that.
I'm so sorry. WE had a discipline issue here and I ended up being away from the computer. I need my street signs - that's for sure.
Jac. I fold the towels as they come out of the dryer. Start stacks on the floor. Then I pick up the quilt unti lthe next load is done. Towels and socks are the only things i don't fold in the laundry room. Takes too long.
MM - It's okay. I was only kidding. I'm a multi-tasker, too.
I think my husband wonders how I do it. (I knew you were kidding). My chair is like command central. My phone, my computer, my Bible, the blank absence and bus notes for the kids, sudoku book etc. I work from home a lot so my computer has to be where I can access it easily.
Speaking of which, I need to check the dryer. Brb
Just took the last load from my dryer.:-)
hello folks, anyone have ad 8/50? at 7/28?
Succcess at last! My artistic masterpiece is complete.....200 words for 2222 points!
ad 8 is a sticky word
congrats lawyer!
at 7 sounds like a word for memory loss. Sorry that is a crummy clue
good job lawyer. This was a tough grid
might have been a less than perfect clue, but was good enough.... thanks.
When the grids are that big, I just try to do something different and then quit rather than try to complete it.
Thanks brandyjack. I definitely wouldn't be finished today without your list. Wheweee.
Just been checking my e-mails and a friend from Austin, Texas has just sent me a funny link. Take a look, if you like: http://www.ultranalog.co m/sale/cd.html
(Remove the space from between the c & o in 'com' first though!)
*or rather the 'o' & 'm'.
I wasn't ignoring you the other nat Jacs, was sleeping. Slept all day with stupid migraine in fact.
Hey BJ. That's okay!
That is hilarious Jac. thanks
BJ - a tendency to get migraines and staring at computer screens all day (even these modern ones) don't really go together. The only 2 migraines I ever had in my life were back in the early 80s, before anyone knew breaks had to be taken etc., were from working with computers.
It is good, isn't it, MM! Glad you enjoyed it. (I don't know about you, but I could hear the voice of HAL from '2001 - A Space Odyssey' when I was reading it.)
I don't think mine are 'migraines', just feel like it. Most seemd to be caused by laying on one side all night while sleeping. If I wake up with one and can sleep on the other side for an hour, it will usually go away. And Tryptan doesn't work is another contra-indication.
at7? can someone help me?
Oh definitely Jac. I sent it to Greg - he works on computers and has been helping a friend all week with a major problem. He'll appreciate it too. Yep definitely Hal
Cathy did you see my lame clue a few minutes ago?
at 7. The type of well that bubbles out of the ground. mis-spell the middle syllable and lop off the 8th character.
just saw it mm... trying to get it
Cathyr - If you can't work the at7 out from the clues, try Googling the definition: 1. The absence or closure of a normal body orifice or tubular passage such as the anus, intestine, or external ear canal. 2. The degeneration and resorption of one or more ovarian follicles before a state of maturity has been reached.
siiiiiiggggghhhh.... still trying to get some babble peace. ;) brandyjack, I hope you are doing okay! Just saw a brief mention about migraines and started thinkin' positive thoughts for ya! I started my migraine life with a coma when I was 11, so I KNOW headaches! :)
Thanks Jac. i was trying to get those for her and my screen froze.
BJ - That's very strange. I suppose you've asked your doctor about it? I don't know about you, but I have a preferred side to lie on at night, if I lie on the other for more than about 10 mins, my arm goes dead and feels kind of 'spare'.
...and if I lie on my back I'm afraid I tend to SNooooooooooooooorrrreeeeee! (So, I'm told... but it's all a malicious rumour....I NEVER snore!) LOL.
brb
LOL Jac... my hubby has sleep apnea (just like his father, who wears a hideously huge/loud breathing mask at night) but refuses to do anything about it! I put in my shooting range ear plugs and if he wakes up with our son and I don't... so be it!! ;)
Jen - both me and my other half use earplugs at times. LOL.
I am having no issues. i have no 4 --the short fiber and the no 4 -- the strange way of saying i won't and the musical no**. What is the remaining no 4????
Hi AKnitter - no4/4 - French word for 'black', maybe? 'Film no**'.
Or is it no4/4 - a short letter. (?)
ty jac. now there are no mo issues !!!
its a bit early, but i decided to change my outfit for tomorrow so maybe i can see it...hehe... :D
y/w, AKnitter. What kind of road sign is that??
Jac, Hubby has said maybe 3 times in our almost 11 year marriage that I kept him up snoring and I remind him of the total of 15 years I have had to put up with his (including a couple of scares pre-marriage when he stopped breathing [the apnea] and I was trying to come up with a logical reason for me being there so early in the morning! LOL
Evanadine - it's already 9th Feb. here in UK so happy ??the birthday to you!
have you ever driven through the black hills of south dakota? only place that i have ever been where you can look behind you and still see your car on the road below you LOL
woohoo! yay differing time zones!! :D
No, AKnitter, I haven't, but now I have one of my fave Doris Day songs going through my head... 'Take me to the black hills, the black hills of Dakota...'
So, Evanadine, it's you *7th birthday? I had my first child at your age.
my daughter was doing a personality test on line last night. one of the people she was compared to was doris day ... who is that she said!! ALAS I am getting old
welp, im still baby-free, as far as i know...hehe
Please note the '*' before the 7, folks. I was being a lady and not revealing Evanadine's age. I did NOT have my 1st child at 7! LOL.
AKnitter - 'The Deadwood Stage' is more fun though, isn't it? All that 'whip crack away' stuff! LOL.
thanks guys...i finally got the AT...googling really helps!
What are you doing for your birthday Eva? Anything fun?
AKnitter - I'll lend you my copy of 'Calamity Jane' so your daughter can watch it.:-)
Oh please help... need the last de6/21 and de7/32 ... give ya a big warm hug!!! {{{{hug}}}}
I need a clue for a de 6/21 I have 3 -- remove the sodium, leave the army want something a lot what is the 4th de 6/21
i think my friend/coworker is taking me out to lunch tomorrow...then the BF is coming over after work + i think we are going out for sushi... friday night some friends + i are driving out to a club to see my friends band play -- so the whole club will be like my own personal party! then sunday night my family will get together for dinner.
Okay now I know I'm addicted - I keep looking at the grid to find more words. PATHETIC I tell ya!I'm going to pop over and email my mom. Be back soon.
she knows who shirley temple is though... loves her movies but not doris (poor doris)
de --- it sounds like fuel for a large truck. Different spelling.
Evanadine - Sounds like a good day! Enjoy it.
now just the sh7 and i'll have all 7's if someone doesn't mind please
Sounds like a wonderful birthday. I love sushi.
someone who trims sheep
music mom, can i have the third letter ? Perhaps i can buy a vowel
sh7 - the person who removes the fleece from a sheep.
lol...boy do i ever feel stupid!!! lol thanks
AKnitter - dea.
woohoo, thanks jac. i kept typing that in but it wouldn't take it ... had to refresh
AK - the whole word is an anagram of what people did when they went to sea with big pieces of material flapping on masts above them.
I had to buy a vowel too Knitter. I kept trying every combination of des under the sun.
'Des'? The lorry fuel is 'die'. LOL.
heh, well, i worked todays puzzle down to an even 100 left to go, so im gonna settle into bed and get an early night -- after Lost is done, of course!
'night evaN! If I don't get on 1st thing... happy birthday!!! Hope you have a great one hon! :))))
Rest well, Evanadine, and have a lovely birthday later.
Hey eva. I just found your birthday cake. I'll save it for the morning. I'm about done here. Law and Order is coming on soon. I'll be around for about 10 more minutes.
Good night eva.
I suppose I'd better gift wrap either Johnny Depp or George Clooney for you, Evan??
oooh oooh, if she doesn't take Johnny, can I have him?!?!?!
Or maybe Jason Momoa again? *Whispers to self. 'He did a good job of distracting all the lady Babblers from completed the grid last time he was here. Helps my ranking!' Evil cackle!*
Calm down, Jen! You'll wake the neighbours! LOL.
Not fair Jac. That is distracting. Okay I'm out for tonight. I'm going to put the cookies away before L&O See ya'll tomorrow.
Maybe that's what made my hubby call from on his business trip and my son wake up! LOL
Hee, hee.
Jac I hope that laugh was for me and my plight, because I am not seein' the humor in finishin' this d@mn puzzle. ;)
Jen - I'll clue you in as far as is possible! Try not to look at Jason if he distracts you.
Jen - I could have put Johnny Depp on here - that would have distracted you more.
Dang girl!!!! I just refreshed!!!! Thanks a lot.... mumble grumble... only have like 10 words left and hubby is away for 6 moths and she goes and puts up a hottie....
that would be 6 months... not 6 moths!
need one er5/10... have the one that means delete... any clues?
other er5 means Irish Gaelic + S
Cathyr - the er word. The sea wears the coast line away by ero****. Change the 3rd letter to vowel no. 1.
er + sending out an ***, change middle vowel
Jen - moths, months. Is there any difference? All will be 'dry'. :-/
Cath - scrub my clue! It was for an er7.
Jac...I needed the er7 so thank you from me!
The er5/10 you seek sounds like sections of a poem, but scrub the 'v'.
uh, yup, unless you are talkin' in terms of liquor... 'cause I went back to my parents home for a visit with my son (their only grandchild) and they have a veeeeery nicely stocked liquor cabinet! :)
Kristinc - y/w.
bless u all for such wonderful help
Jen - REFRESH! Johnny's home!
You ladies are soooo silly!!! But thanks for the great clues!
Cathyr - Have you finished?
Silly, Smaller? Nowt wrong with appreciating a tall, dark handsome male.:-)
WE'RE silly? you're the dip! ;)
Rhett Butler, Heathcliff....
.. my Paul. *Sigh* All gorgeous.
oh-hhhhhhooooo yeaahhhhhh. Thanks! :O
All I have left are the T's -- hopefully I'll get them all....on with it.
Jen - shut your mouth, there's a bus coming. (As my mother used to say. ROFLOL.)
Jen, i'm a brain dead dip so everything seems silly. Jacula, dreamy
As I said, hubby is away for 6 months and we are into this separation about 7 weeks.... ;)
Jen - How far away is he? Can he be visited from where you are?
At the mo, I am down in FL and he is somewhere up in the VA/MD area (I don't know/can't say)
Keep plugging on, pbr. Any help we can give... and all that....
Okay, Jen. I get the picture. The meeting up again will be good, though. Think about that to get you through and, in the meantime, there are always letters/texts/e-mails.
Jen - maybe even MSN or Yahoo messenger conovs?
*convos.
Jen, so can you at least get emails from him?
I do wish Dr_God would give us the edit/delete facility on these messages!
oops...sorry jac...just now scrolling to read the posts. nope...not done yet. :(
Actually, we get to talk on the phone every day, which is nice... much better than when he was in the Navy and we had contact "whenever". Plus, it's really good for our son to hear Daddy tell him good night and give him "air kisses" (the kind that knock ya down!!!)
phooey...still 70 words yet to find...don't think i can make it.
Cathyr - just say what you need nd I'll try to help, if I can. Jen - no computer contact then? But the phonecalls are good!
Jacula, Dr. God's quite stubborn. I've asked for oaty and resit several times. In fact, I think you type it correctly, and then he changes it during the post. Just to mess with your head. Did you know there are going to be Babble t-shirts soon?
Babble t-shirts? No, I didn't know that, Smaller. Does this mean I've got to walk around with 'I Babble' on my chest??
I'd love a babble tee! Heck, I paid the $10 for the upgrade, might as well flaunt my wordiness!
Oaty, resit, resat, re-almost every other word you can think of. Yes, he's stubborn! LOL. Speaking of Babble and Dr_God - Have you lot done your entries on BabAnon for the Babble Parody song yet?
Oh, and another word I'd like included is 'drey' - a squirrel's nest!
Jacula, Who wouldn't want "I (heart) Babble" displayed proudly on her bosom? maybe it should be "I (heart) Babble But Stop Staring at My Ti4/4"
Woooooo Hoooooooo! Finally! Last word was an elusive se6... one who chars meat. Can I help anyone? Still feeling the tiniest bit of energy before I collapse from the cold medication!!!
Cold medication? Now I'm singing the old reggae hit, 'Night Nurse' by Gregory Isaacs.

Hi, LeslieAnn- my icon is my birthday pressie for Evanadine. She can loan him for one day.
Grey Woulfe, Hey good to see you! the proud papa. glad you still have your wits about you despite your sleep deprivation
I would totally wear it if it would actually get people to look at my ti4/4 for the 1st time in my life! lol
HIya Wolfie. Hope you didn't disturb the young wolf cub rolling around on your ar4/4 and laughing out loud like that!
Evening Woulfie! :) How's it goin'?
sleep dep hits me strangely -- I tend to function normally, just with a shorter fuse -- then all of a sudden, my brain just melts onto the floor :)
Same here, GW.
Hi Everyone!
HI Jojo! Well I'm off to bed. Happy silly babbling!
Seb is currently sucking a bottle down, while I type -- Mom is about to take a shower :)
Speaking of sleep dep... I am off to neverland (yet another Johnny Depp ref Jac!!!) Have agreat evening all! G'night Jac, GW, smaller, and anyone else I might have missed. :)

Sure am glad we help each other out -- I still don't know the meanings to quite a few words -- but at least I can spell them!!
awww man...57 words to go
good evening everyone. Back to try and finish this thing.
Hey, I have 111 to go --- don't feel bad :)
Hi Doxy!
65 to go here but we can do it...the night is young!
Woulfie: Just logged on a few minutes ago. You are better than I, so you will make it, I never have ever solved the entire grid, but I won't stew about it, it is suppose to be fun.
oh man, it won't let me be a hottie.
Right now, the more important victory for me is to get Seb to burp before he spits up or gets gas pains :D
got all my 7s and 8s... only an hour left.
GW -- good luck!!
there's 2 hours left!
Woulfie: Time passes so fast. Enjoy your Seb. In another year or two, you will not ever remember the burbs or gas.
GW - STOP! Put a towel over your shoulder first. Now you can 'burp' him.:-)
my grandbaby just left. has had a mild GI upset all day.
Jac -- no worries there -- I have two in place -- the burpy cloth I put under his chin while feeding and the towel I keep on the shoulder at all times :)
And now he has pulled his typical behaviour... he has fallen fast asleep despite being played like a bongo to get the gas out :D
GW - I can see you're a pro at this.:-)
Wolfie - that means that sometime in the night he's gonna release the gas 'with loose luggage'. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.:-(
As long as it isn't as painful for him as it was the other night, I don't mind
Well, I am going to catch the news, and get some rest. be safe.
nite pbr
pbr: Stay Safe and Babble Soon!
So long, pbr --- rest well :)
I need help with the last three ta's -- 6/18, 5/10, 6/18
GW - it's always painful for them for a while, until they adjust to life outside the womb. He won't remember it. Don't worry!x
GW, they all build off of the last ta4, add vowels, consonant, etc.
Thanks doxy -- thought I had monkeyed all the combos -- obviously not!
no prob.
the ta's are foot bones, Wolfie.
Someday I'll finish a grid. But for now, if I'm at 50% (give or take) I'm pleased. Congrats to all who finish--especially without other online resources. Done for today. Nite all. Yawn!
nite mom23
Night Mom23. Doing without the other resources comes with experience on here.x
Jac: What other resources??? Someone clue me in. I have just been going by the seat of my pants, and brain ~~ which could be the same. HAHA.
jojo you have the first and second letter list right? babblers anonymous link to the right, click on general, then click on stats
Les: Yeh I got those, I thought Jac was talking about another resource. Sigh~~ I thought I could pick up other references.
well there is also a2zwordfinder.com... you can type in the first few letters and it will tell you what words it could make
But, jojo, (hello, btw) you can mostly do without when you've been on here a while because you get to know the weird words and not-really words that the grid throws up.
Les: Thx
just found this game. already I love it! is there any way of knowong the maximum points in the current puzzle??
have 1 word left. an re6/18 (stupid re words)
hi chips and welcome.
can I get some help w/ the re's I have all the 4/4s and the following: the sudden awareness of: re7 and re8x2 backend plural:re5 one related to height: re6 & 7 to boat again: re6 the type of store: re6 Thanks!
chips, scroll down to my last post, it'll tell you how to get to the stats board
Jac: Will try what Les said, but thx for responding.
Hi chips, get ready for the obsession!
whoops, sorry chips, it was longer than that. go to the babblers anonymous link to the right, then click general, then click stats (and welcome!)
Welcome Chips!
doxy do you have to get up again? that was my last re.
Hail and Well Met, chips!
here is one more resource www.morewords.com the search is very powerful and they also have a words by length section. njoy....
Welcome Chips. You've really jumped into the frying pan now!
hi, my mom got me hooked on this game, this is the first by myself, thanks for some of the clues
hi berry! welcome to you, too!
Hi Berry. Welcome.
Omigod! We sound like 'moonies' welcoming the innocents in!
hi berry and welcome.
Berry -- it worked in reverse for me --- I got my mom hooked ;D Welcome and don't hesitate to ask for clues when you need them!
i have been here from 2 games now... I am already behind my work. My boss has already spoken to me about it. Njoy...
Thanx to all for the welcome! and thank you les for the advice and Jacula, I'm not that innocent!
what is this blasted sa 7/28?
9tanks - Don't lose your job over it!
are there any words that start with the x or y
Hello. 56 to go. I'm sure I need clues. Just have to figure it out first!
2 with y
at least
berry--actually 5 y's
sa7/28 is your little Aunt SALly + one of 4 round rubber things (the way you US folks spell it) on your car.
there are 5 Y words none that start with X
hmmm...i wonder why it won't let rera4/4 be a word.
sa 7/28 = table seasoning + ti 4/4
at 7?
thank you quick you're my hero!
Cathyar - you'd have to reuse the "e"....
Harp - Scroll back and google the definition for that at7.
yw. I'm sort of new to this and it feels good to finally be able to give a clue !
oops...i meant the rera4/4 that trains use
Go for it, Quick. The more clues, the better.
any clues for the y words
jac how do the brits spell it?
berry, two are expressions of excitement, and two have to do with your age
Hi everyone. :) Quick - ti 4/4? A clue please?
The y's: ye4/7 A triumphant, air-punching type affirmative. ye4/6 - a period of 12 months. ye5/14 - plural of the above. ye4/6 - plural affirmatives without the last consonant of the one before. ye4/6 - female genitalia (as per The Kama Sutra).
li 6/18, 7/32, 7/28 Sorry to be so greedy!
ah well...i can't take it anymore...53 words left but it's 12:42 a.m. and work comes early. bye everyone & tks for the help tonite!!! :)
LeslieA - we spell it 'ty**'.
help!!! I need an re6/18 between the re6/21 and re7/28 at the bottom of the re's. I have the re + area one and the store one. I can't find it :(
doxy take the i out of your 7
oh well what do you know jac. learn something new every day.
leslie ann, I love you. Thank you and pass the fish.
ti4/4 clue - your car rides on 4 of these
I have to go now. Happy Babbling all.
harp, the li's - li + 2 vowels + curvy letter + vowel, the plural and past tense.
thanks for the y clues I got all but the kuma sutra but im still trying
bye jacula.
doxy is your sign from hell, MI?
So long, Jac -- (*Hug*)
Thanks, Quick. Got it now.
berry that one is a yo word (i think - my kama sutra is a bit... um, nonexistant) and it has 4 letters, if that helps
Berry - someone in charge of a yoga class is a yo**. Change the 2nd consonant. Night all.
ye4's - one is 12 months and the other is plural for a word meaning I agree
leslie, I'm not sure where it is from, just found it when searching for road signs. Thought it was great.
thanx I got it
hi ya'll - about to head home from the office!!!!
hi rennie...
hi ren, you're at work late tonight.
I'm finished and have to send some emails. Will see you all tomorrow night.
man, there are a lot of twisty words in the puzzle today
down to 67 -- working backwards so the only big block left is the L's :)
bye doxy!
ye 4/6.?
Hi GW.
yes...work and no play makes ren really want to stay home and play a game!!! 8)
Yayyy for doxy!! (*Hug*) See you tomorrow, hopefully -- I return to work tomorrow -- no more late night babbles for me except on the weekend
Hi ren -- Jac...everyone
zubie - what you use to make bread dough, without the 't' on the end...
32 left to go. I might actually make it!
Hi zubie
by doxy hi zub hi eb go wolfie go harp
Thanks, EasternBlue. That shows that my brain's babbled out!
Hi harpjane
zubie- that happens at this hour... I'm working on my last 30 or so!!
im not a pro so how many words can be found in the puzzle
sa 5/14? and 6/24?
Berry - 261
Berry 261 words.....but the grid changes at 10:pm
ot6?
Woulfie - ot - ear infection
well for my first time i am at 49 words and 370 points thats a good start ( I think)
Berry, the grid changes at midnight central time.
ot6 - put somthing in middle of the famous elevator makers.. Njoy....
EB thank you Berry welcome to our babble land..... Babblers... this is my daughter....
Last 30, EasternBlue? I'm on 159 and I'm studiously avoiding to ask how many words this grid has! I only logged in about an hour ago so I'll be happy with whatever number I finish on. :D
Berry -- you are doing great! Just focus on the fun and not the finish and you will get the maximum enjoyment It's like anything else -- mastery comes with practice and exposure
we have been taking good care of her, blaze!
Berry-a fantastic early showing...you'll be an "expert" in no time :)
Thanks for the ot
Berry - after a while, you start to see the 'same' weird words...plus there are a bunch of clever people who provide great clues!!
I knew you woud.... she is good at this game and helps me when she is here...
Berry -- doubly welcome! Blaze -- HI! (*Hug*)
Sa 5/14? & 6/24? (I can quit any time, Berry, honest!) GIVE ME CLUES OR THE PUPPY GETS IT! (I can quit any time, Berry, honest!) HELP ME>>>>>>>>

the s get out of the sun and plural
Berry you are brilliant... thanks
thanx mom I try
All are well, Blaze :) Kristianna is beginning to act up a bit at bedtime now -- but we recognise that it is how she is dealing with having to share us with Seb :)
This grid's awfully big, isn't it? I'm beginning to think that it's bigger than the 162 I've found. Just HOW many words are in here?!
*whispers to zubie* you don't really want to know... but it's 261
GW trying doing the bedtime story with Seb .... that way they both get attention and K thinks it's all hers... It really does work
Will try thatm Blaze -- you haven't steered me wrong yet :)
[Oh dear, EasternBlue. No, I didn't really want to know that. But thanks. *whispering* One of those awful grids. Time for a 40 grid, don't you think? :D I don't think we'd had one since I got back!]
woooooooooo i'm done *happy dance* willing to give clues? jane did you ever figure out the sa's?
Hi Everyone -- got a really late start today -- been working my way through the log and have three left -- help, please: se 5/10 & 6/18 (last combo) yo 4/8
Thank you LeslieAnn! The puppy's ok!
yo4/8 -- counterpart to the lingam
phew, jane. didn't want that on my conscience. :)
CNan there is Joni mitchel and then there is yo 4/6
nan there's a few of those combos... se + what a train travels on (and minus last letter) and the different spelling for your breakfast, (and minus an i)

jane, mad and madder
Found the yo
ir's = really angry

congrats nan!
very 1st la4/4 and 5/10?
help from anyone on the last re 7/28?
Please don't mention that ch - word --- back on the diet and I'm dying!
the la word.. don't point in your eyes
re 7/28: a case before the court for the second time
GW, it is the first 4&5 letters of your last la 7/8 or if you are putting something off, you'll be doing it la** and add an r for the 5
yellow, can I have a clue for the 2nd ta 6/18, plz?
gw, the la 4/4 is like a dragon's la**, the 5/10 isn't related... it's la + two letters for "again" + s
Then I need the 4 & 5 that come after those :)
GW...just realised you asked for first..duh!
berry how many words have you gotten so far...??
ta 6/18: having to do with bones in the foot
Lazy and the bright lite
GW, the reverse the last two letters on your very first la and pluarl
or else I need the 2nd 5 and the 4 after it -- hard to tell :)
darth vader sword
that got it kristi!
gw, what if you switch the last two letters in dragon's la** and plural?
thanks cyber, 7 more re's to go...ugh!
as 5/ 14 as 5/ 12 as 4/ 7
now I just notised that I don't have any of the ho's! with 35 mins to get 41 words :0
well, have that; maybe it's the last one...
GW, good, at least I can make up for not reading things correctly this way :)
The re's were the worst I think
67 for 528
You are doing great......
oops...didn't mean to post...those were the last few i needed to find & i was using the msg box to eliminate what I had!!
hoisin sauce still isn't there!
okay, what about the second re 7/28 and the 8s that follow...pretty please?
chic, for the last one those first four letters are the same, then two vowels
wow the ho's were easy!
they always are, gw. they always are.
cybernan, where is kelowna? I think I've been there but I can't place it. 3 to go....
GW - aren't ho's usually 'easy' (EB's brain slips into the gutter at this later hour!!)

My husband says I've never been there. (He doesn't know everything!) We go to Glacier Park in BC every now and then. Don't think we're going this year.
gw, er + sending out an *** change the vowel
er GW? no er 5/10
ty Leslie Ann !
Thanks, LA! how about the ea6/18?
I have an er5/10 - it sort of sounds like a funeral car said with a very bad cockney accent (no ofense anyone).
speakea**** (plural)
ea 6: during prohibition there were speak ea****
ea 6/18 is plural of the ea5/10
Sweet! 20 to go in 25 mins! :)

Clues for the at's anyone? Please?
that's a tough one... not a good clue, but... a + "three" in spanish, plus two vowels
little at is plural and past tense of eat, let me think harder on the biggie!
perfect clue for me, LA!
at 4 sounds like 8's
great clue on the large at LA!
Got the 4, thanks harpjane. kristinc. Now the 7.
Ooh got the at7. Thanks for the clues. :D
as4/4?
a sailor might go there
where the sailors are....
On the ocean
I always have trouble seeing that one! Thanks :)
when they switch to a new puzzle, do they show a list of the words so you can see what you missed?
Evening all - I'm stopped at 218 words. Refuse to waste more time.
The last tr5, please?
Quick-yes there is a word list after the puzzle closes.
Hello Hoot owl Quick yes.... your can click on a name and it will show the word list...(the screen that will come up at he end of this puzzle... it is on the right hand side
Sure Quick. There will be a bar showing you where the list is on the old page. ONLY way to find some of the weird words!
well i got 87 how bout you mom, I was only on for an hour
tr5/10 - hackneyed.
The last tr 5---silly, not important
And Done!! not my usual last minute finish for one this size, but a fun race, nonetheless ;D
last tr 5... not important... all but one letter are in the top row
Woohooo GW!!!! :D Yayyy!
thanx guys. I've only been doing this for about a week but I'm hooked! sigh.............
zubie: last tr5: trivial, unimportant.

Quick -- welcome to the insanity hoot -- Hi Mom! (*hug*)
Thanks, Leslie, mab. Got it.
How do you do it woulf????
And I'm retiring on 193. :D
I forgot ! The eidectic memory!!!
Berry, 87 is GREAT for an hour's work!
Hooray GW! Hello hoot and goodnight zubie
Hoot owl is that a word for genetic... (LOL)
Zubie see you on the flip
I've been doing this since late October, hoot -- I have played nearly every grid since I started and have come to learn a lot of the odd balls (both words and players :D ) I also have learned to not be afraid to try combos that look like they shouldn't work ;)
You leaving, kristinc? I didn't mean the 'abed retire' ; I meant the 'I've had enough of the brain convoluting babble I shall retire from this grid and await the next one" kind of retire. ;D
Hi dear gang... waiting for the flip :)
too many to go ;-(
Hi sprite meet my daughter berry....
Hi sprite!!! (*HUG*) it isn't often we see you before the flip :)
((((Woulf)))) ! *big hug from one of the oddballs*
Quick if you want to get a jump on the board - you can print out the 2 letter word list and a copy of the grid and work on it off line. Better than having a pain in the butt from sitting for hours.
Hi Blaze, hi Berry, welcome! :)
zubie...I see. Yes, I think I will head off. I was sticking around to help w/ clues since others are always great about helping me. Well done all! See you tomorrow
bye kristinc.... take care
G'nite, kristi -- (*hug*) Sleep Well, Dream Deep :)
Thanks kristinc. Ok. See you for the next grid. :) Goodnight :)
Night Kris
