Morning dear gang :)
h7/32
morning all !
Morning quick :)
morning back all - I agree with sprite - quick. 119 words so far, and this grid is bursting!
Hi Sprite Do you think today's puzzle will be any easier than yesterday's?
yes Ch1212, I've already gotten more words than I did on yesterday's (which I did not finish)
Quick: so far it is, but hey, we'll only know that for sure when we get to those last 30-odd words and find they are at least as hard to find as the last ones of yesterday's grid...
Hi Sprite -- been researching Amsterdam hotels -- which part of upper or lower town is the best to stay in for easy walking distance to everything we are likely to want to see?
p 8/55
p 7/40
o, duh, p 8/55 (plural of the 7/40 I just found!)
Hi nan! I asked my love about hotels and he couldn't help out. He usually camps out, lol, so he doesn't know that much about hotels. If you look at a map of Amsterdam, you will see that its center is shaped as a couple of rings inside eachother. As long as you are within the outer ring, you can get everywhere by foot. But if you can find a hotel in other parts, it's no problem. There are trams and busses everywhere, usually with no more than 10 minutes between them. Amsterdam is small, compared to cities you are used to, I think.
Thanks, Sprite -- we really couldn't tell from the city map we have just how great the distances are.
a8/40
a9/54
Nan, I just measured a map and the widest part of Amsterdam center is about 3 kilometers wide. That's the part within the rings of canals. As said... Amsterdam is small ;)
Good -- there's lots of places that will be just fine, then.
When will you be visiting? If you like to have a homecooked dutch dinner, you are more than welcome to come by and visit us too :)
That's very good of you, but we only have 2 days before we move on to Brussels, so I don't think we will be making any trips outside of the city centre!
We arrive the evening of May 24.
m 7/40
No, that's really short indeed. You will only see a snapshot of Amsterdam in that time, even without other visits. Too bad! Enjoy your stay, nan, it's a very nice city!
anyone done yet?
Hello everyone
Nava, ha ha ha ha HA HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Hi Nava, SweetTooth -- a nice juicy one tonight.
i am! yeah right, not that smart. hello to everyone
Hi Sweettooth
The big ones are so much fun because you start off finding so many words so quickly.
Nan, I stayed at the Canal House Hotel when I was in Amsterdam a couple of years ago. It was a good location and a nice hotel. Very close to the Anne Frank House.
Thanks Sweet Tooth -- I'll look it up on the net.
Hi All! g 7/36
L 7/32
Nan- Just in case you travel with a lot of luggage..... the Canal House doesn't have an elevator.
No -- we only did that once! -- have it cut down to a 24" and a carry on, now.
Only once! It took me several times, but now I travel pretty light too.
hello everyone
Hi mrp!
L 7/28
Hi Mr. P :)
having a day of it :<(
Hi mrP :)
hail to all.... and oh my why did I sign into this grid.... here goes....
Hi Blaze -- it's not so bad, so far.
Hi there Blaze! Because you just can't resist, dear, that's all. It's called 'addiction' ;)
Hi Blaze!
Sprite you are right....
Takes one to know one, Blaze :)
p 8/45
thank you nan
Slowing down, think I'll have a peek at Canal House before I call it a night -- leaving 99 words on the wall -- see you tomorrow :)
good night nan
bye nan
Finally... kids to school, now I can babble away. I only have 81 words so far! So now for some serious hunting...
Atalante is almost here.
No game though....
G7/36
Phooey... not even halfway and already slowing down. Could be harder than it looked, this grid.
down to 173 woo hoo
131 now. And found some new hide-outs for words, so I guess there are more words there :)
T7/32, or was that one mentioned already?
t8/50
Thanks, mrP.
M7/40 So far I used the X three times, A x 2 and R x 1.
sprite...how did you use the x starting with 'r' ?
They made me pay again...
there is also an i 4/9 that uses the x
aha the bottom r not the top one.... very well done Sprite
Nice one, SweetTooth!
t word using x also
Thanks Sprite! Now I have to find your a's.

I have to work in the morning... better get myself off to bed whilst I still have a chance!! See you all later!! (wave)
MrP - Sorry to hear you've had a rough day. Here's a ((((HUG)))).
Sleep well, MrP.
Oh Jac!! Nasty sh** of a day too!!
I keep seeing 'Taggart' (name of Scottish murder detective series in UK) in this grid. Makes me keeping saying ,'Merdur!' (I love the way the Scots say 'murder' - makes the word sound just as menacing as it really is.)
good morning! Well, this looks a bit more normal. Any clues for that al8 & 9 combo?
Does it come from the 5 letter root meaning to change?
Eva, yes
You would think that knowing that would clarify everything but noooooooooo
Eva, the al words are made up of two other words from the grid
Afternoon Eva - add a tiny insect for the 8 & pl for 9
Thanks guys! Had tried everything but that of course!
FMitch - Thanks! I hadn't got those either.
Hi Jacs, always glad to help when I can.
Just come back to my computer (have to worrk sometimes!?!), thanks for the clues for the al8 & 9.
gmornin babblers!
Helloooooo !
big grid today -- get ready to feel defeated!
Sorry, FMitch, I had to leave the office for a while. Thanks again for the clues. Hi, Evanadine.
Evanadine - Don't be defeated before you begin. I found 150 words in about 20 mins/30 mins. With the 2 FMitch clued me in on I'm now more than halfway through the grid. If I can do it, so can you.
Actually it not too bad for a grid of this size, I had a slow start but once you get into it ...!!!
I'm stuck on the ag8?
Sorry Ishult - I don't have that yet.
add to the ag5/14. The def for the 8 is of or pertaining to the a5/14. Start from the a on the left hand side, 1st column.
Got it! What a silly word! Thanks, FMitch.
I've just finished the a's and there are a couple of really stupidhead words as Griff would say.
got it FM, took me a while to spot the right ending!!
I want to know why you can't 'pad' or 'tip' something again. Damned 're's'!
how about the al7?
urgh, don't remind me, re's always seem to be the last lot I have to sort out to complete the grid ... might go and have a look at them now and get them out the way.
just had a peek at BJ's list and there are 15 x re :((
Are there? Well, I have 11 so far (re's, that is).
I see Atalante is almost in today's grid.
WTG Jac !!!! I have 3 LOL
FMitch - Let me know if you need any clues. Ishult - Haven't got the al7 myself yet. Looking for it though.
it's a flowering shrub also known as Rose of Sharon--self-propagates around here . . . bit of a pest!
any hints on the 9 yet?
Jac and Ish...al7....like an****** girls name as in Turner...extra first vowel in the middle !!!
Thanks, Une!
Thanks also, Karys. I had one of those in my garden years ago.
Une.....change plus tiny insects
sorry not Une....Eva !!!!!
i didn't ask for that one, but thanks on behalf of others :-)
I'm easily confused !!!.....specially on Mondays !!
heh, thanks karys
167 words down, 89 to go. Time I had some lunch and sorted some laundry. Don't know where all this washing comes from - I'll swear complete strangers sneak in off the street and shove things in my laundry bin!:-(
morning, Jacula--happy washing!
Funny that happens to me to Jac, see you later.
lol......see you later Jac :)
could they be the same strangers who sneak in and stack piles of papers all over my house?!
.. and the ones who eat everything in the fridge and take the last apple :/
we have an unkown, unseen resident in our house...we do know it's name tho'....it's called ' not me '....he or she gets everywhere !!!
ROFLOL, you lot.:-))) That'd be the same complete stranger who hides car keys, tv remotes etc., would it? Really going now. TTFN.x
got the Ag8 and the Al8 -- any hints on the other 8s?
only got one .... pa8.....starts with ' first pa** of a book'....and is a spectacular procession
thanks karys -- i had the singular, but not the plural of that one!
pa8- places of much merriment
lshult -- is that also the beauty queen one? or a second PA8?
the one and same, i'm afraid. havn't got the other yet!!
anyone got a clue for the re7. It's driving me nutso
pa8/45 - Think PG movie ratings.
ag8. Is the stem the person who represents an actor?
yes Eva
thanks summerbreeze!
got it but what kind of a fershlugenner word is that?! If they can make up words why can't we?
Your welcome..
indeed it is nuts, Eva. But Babble is a fershlugener game, aint it? :) And now I really need to beg for the re7 clue.
*must. find. 4. more. words. for. even. 100. before. heading. to. breakfast!!*
fit1 - just starting to hunt for 're' words now. If I hunt it down, I'll let you know :)
Thanks for the PA8 clue. Here is another. Think mommy and daddy
great clue for pa8, summer--thanks!
Thanks Crissy, It is my last re word
2 words to go until i can allow myself to go to breakfast...haha

ah trishtrash, thank you thank you thank you. I can now say goodbye to the re's :)

Yay Trish : ) That was my good deed for the day. Now I go back to being an evil little toerag } )
ty, Hurshy :) Anj, Don't spend the karma points all at once, anj ;) dammit, now I miss you being evil ... unless.. does anyone want clues?
Morning! today's grid is much better than yesterday's...anyone have a clue for AN7?
can't say yet trish. lemme fetch the list.
Angel ... Anj just gave us one at 8.12 :)
*puts some karma points in cute ickle piggywiggy bank and hopes no-one notices* *Goes back to gloat over collection of doomsday devices*
morning all -- evanadine, what musical is your icon from? Kind of looks like Angela Lansbury in Sweeney Todd?
ok, i'm doing pretty well, but maybe that last al7?
gah! anyone else with the overwhelming urge to type axial, Arselnal, palantir & patent : /
ch1212 - I think the icon is Elaine Page in the musical Cats?
Hursh, remember Uptown Top Ranking by Donna & Al.... gets you most of the way there. Ends in 3 vowels...
and let's not forget 'garment' anj :)
anj, add penant to your list :)
another name for the rose of sharon, Hursh, buncha vowels on the end... I can probably break it into a better clue if you need it?
and enrage
anj -- didnt go...like i said saturday, i didnt have any more friends who were available + i didnt wanna drive all that way alone in that kind of weather (we ended up getting a foot of snow at my house) so i just spent saturday night alone and cranky. :/
good heavens, FMitch, of course you're right. (sheepishly thinks how on earth could mix those two up?!)
ok i have no idea about this uptown top ranking, is that a song?
heh, yes, im Cats! woulda been the rum tum tugger but grizabella is much more recognized...hehe
hi all! what's the theme for today?
ok, got it!
Hursh, yup...in fact I think it was Al.... & Donna...google it and ad an extra A : )
Hi - can only play for few minutes then I must go grocery shopping or I will starve. Living alone one doesn't need much, but, I need food. Donuts, Chocolate, Cereal, Milk, Bread and such....
LOL ch1212 Evan - gor for it if you want to be Rum Tum
Awww (((EvaN))) that's a real pain : / send that friend a bl**dy cactus for Valentines Day } )
need one of the 5/10's after the an7 - have one that looks french...
Atalante, it's Musicals and Shows I thinks : ) Stage rather than screen...
Hi guys! : ) Hey babe (((xxx))) : )
change the vowel, Hurshy :) faerie, you're my kind of shopper ;)
Hi babe : ) (((xx))) Hursh, try changing the last vowel to another one...
sure, evanadine, be rum tum ... after all, I'll probably think Rum Tum looks like Michael Crawford :)
actually it's film OR theater.
but definitely musicals. and thanks trish and fish please.
How many words are there today..
Trish-just the staples of life. LOL. How about a little faerie dust, now that your finished, sprinkle*sprinkle sprinkle****** enjoy....:)
at the point where im actually debating whether or not to include her on my "friends" list at all anymore... shes pulled this kinda of thing one too many times now, and im just fed up. she even wrote about it on her blog, but she wrote about it in a way that people should feel sorry for her for being so busy... then she immediately followed it up with another blog about she spent all of friday night making out with her Ex...some guy who shes "absolutely in love with" (though they only dated for a few weeks and he needs serious mental therapy) but she knows she "cant be with him" *ugh*
256 but it seems like more...
Oh Joy thanks Anj
Okay, well Anj isn't doing anything impressively evil ;) so I think I'll call it a day here .... have a good one everyone :) Thanks for the dust faerie!! *sneezes*.
EvaN...don't call her, let her call you lol.
Evan- been listening in - sounds just like one of my friends. Needs a swift kick in the ass to be very blunt.
ok now I have antelopes from The Lion King!
at6?
she just never used to be this self-centered or full of drama before... its like shes regressing!
i hate 6's all by themselves.
oooh Hursh, a plus yellow cab plus a : )
Use the x for a condition relating to motor control, Hursh :) *goes and is gone*
*bow of thanks*
new icon is in place. anyone know for sure what tomorrow's theme is?
Angel, it's Feb 14th so the first two guesses don't count : )
Hi all... How is everyone this fine Monday?
oh good! I thought I knew! And I'm all set. Besides, tomorrow is my birthday.
Hi Bugzy : ) 100 to go so i'm taking a break...
Hi bugzy : ) Later babe : ) xx
Hi and Bye Anj! -- Ive got 99 to go :)
Hey Lola :)
Hi all ..any clues please for the an7/28 ty
Angel - tomorrow is your B-day? Well we will have lots of reasons to celebrate tomorrow then.
Hi Caitlyn - against + what we breathe (thanks to Anj for that one :) )
Thanks Bugzy (and anj) lol
fairie, it is! Iwas supposed to be born in May, but I was a preemie. Sometimes I wonder why I was in such a hurry to get here...
Angle - I have a niece whos B-day is tomorrow also and she too was a preemie. Is that wierd or what? She was a 7 mo. baby. Her name is Genevive. We call her Jenny.
Angle - why were you in such a hurry? This is a pretty screwed up world we live in. Be we all so glad you are here. I gotta get. I'm hungry...
I weighed two pounds, 7 ounces at birth, and came home from the hospital when I was three months old.
anj, have you seen spamalot?
Angle - Oh My God - you were so tiny. Isn't it amazing what we can survive? Even as an infant. BBL
une -- i think anj already escaped...hehe
oh, ok--wanted to compare notes--i LOVED it!!!!
my mom gets mad propr -- she gave me 2 Mad Libs books for my bday! haha
Good morning to you all. Any help with the first en 6/21???

Do see it if you get the chance EB. I saw it in Chicago on my girls' weekend. Anna Gasteyer from SNL played the lead. She was wonderful - Great story - good songs...
Well, I have big news... today my husband is earning his REAL DAD stripes... taking both kids to the dentist all by himself... let's have a moment of silence in his honor...
Bugzy...I was planning on doing that with some friends (in NYC), but had to travel for work the weekend we were supposed to get together....*sigh*... When I win the lottery, I can see all the shows I want : )
All Hail Jera's hubby :) I hear you EB... My most wanted is Mamma Mia... huge ABBA fan... When it was in town here I was just about to give birth... still want to see it!!
Hi all, Any good clues for the al9?
The only musical I've ever seen live was CATS... my husband took me for my 30th birthday, it was awesome!
al9 - change bugs
Hi Boys - I just got it - it's change (al5) + picnic pests
What a hubby, Jera, he takes the kids to the dentist AND he does musicals!! :)
I all :) just a quick hello before I rock the wee one to sleep.
Bugzy - my list is endless... Avenue Q...Light in the Piazza...Spamalot...Wicked... Mamma Mia....Jersey Boys....The Producers...The Lion King....& the Putnam Co. Spelling Bee...Hairspray.... *sigh*
Well, the two incidents were 7 years apart, LOL
Jera - LOL!! too funny... well...just dropped in for a quick howdee-doo...must get back to 'work'... Take care....
Thanks Bugzy and Haz
Hi Gramma - EB - I agree. We used to have season tickets to the theater, pre-kids. Now when I go it's Sesame Street Live... Sigh ... Jera - LOL :)
Hi friends, here just for a bit before I go to the Police Academy
Hi all! Any clues for the fa5/22? it's evidently not in a2z, or it's in the wrong order on BJ's list, or - most likely - I'm being thick and just can't find it
Bye EB - Hi Deutsch and amandacath - sorry, don't have fa5/22 :)
Fa 5/22 similar to toffee but change the first vowel to an a
sorry Tiger, not getting that one - toffee? You probably mean a brand name that I don't know...?
Oh - thanks tiger - i got it... amandacath, like a kind of chocolate sweet that usually starts with fu ... change the vowel
tiger's referring to a kind of chocolate candy lots of us make esp around the holidays . . .
thanks Bugs - I was right. I was being thick.
Hi all any clues for the an 7/28 please
rosalind - clue's been given, scroll down a bit
an4/4 + what we breathe
*slightly perturbed apgar isn't valid*
Jera, apgar is a proper noun.
Ah! I wasn't being thick, I was being da4/8!
I guess so, just figured it's common enough to have passed into the vernacular... silly me...
LOL amandacath !
thx for the clue amanda -- I was just starting on the d's! :)
you're quite welcome!
hello!
Need help with the tr6, please...?
hello everyone!
lianakate - i was thinking about you last week! how are you?

tyvm, amandacath!
I wasn't sure that would help - you're welcome!
boysaway - still here? nice icon.
I can't find the ha7 or ha8......can anyone help please ? I have the ha7 stoppers
Karys - it's what you put dirty laundry in (believe it or not) - change the 2nd consonant to the symbol for sodium
what a very lovely clue amandacath!
glad you liked it! Giving clues is almost more fun than finding the words!
could someone possibly oblige me with one for the first fa 5/16?
amandacath....thank you so much...I just couldn't find it !!!....got it now :)
first fa.....up left and follow it up
'cept drop the t and add first vowel
karys, as far as i read it, that would give me faeaa
ta 7/32?
... or like flora and fa*** - change a vowel
ah, thanks amanda
clues for re7/32 please
I only got it from a2z - don't like to have to resort to it, but sometimes it just doesn't work any other way! The Ta7 = ta4/5 + opposite of short - one letter
re7 - sounds kind of like "like a slimy animal"
re7/32 - means crawling like a snake or lizard, or think of a word for sorry and remove the middle "en"
thanks for the clues
First Pa 5/16?
pa 5/16 = heathen
Thanks :)
New to babble. love it. but do horrible. what are your # clues. don't understand them. thanx.

Hi all. I'm back to find some more words. Nitenurse - Welcome to Babbleonia. A site you might find useful as a last resort is a2z. http://www.a2zwordfinder.com / (No gaps)

256 words today
Thanks, Jac - one of these days I'm going to finish one without BJ's list - I tried on Saturday, but he got it up - ummm, the list, I mean - before I was finished, and I just couldn't stop myself...
thanks tiger!

Oh! The most poisonous Aussie snake. Got it now! (ta6/21)
(Could have sworn I'd already tried that.)
Temple - To save you some typing, you can neither 'tip' nor 'pad' something again.
Just found my last 're', thank God.
you can't make lace again either! lol
Harp - After reading that, I just had to try the last part of 'coup d' ****'. Didn't work though.
Speaking of 'aliens who want to phone home', I see the Sicilian volcano's back again.
Jacula, I try that one every time - in the bizarre hope that somehow it will have made it into the list of accepted words
...and I forget the volcano every time
I like the eg4/7. It's cropped up a couple of times lately. The first time I saw it I typed it in for a joke. Gadzooks!
That's exactly the same way I got the eg4/7 the other day - one of those "I'm sure it won't be a word but I'll type it in anyway"-words.
Amandacath - I knew it was a word, I just didn't think it'd be a Babble word. Should've known better! The more unlikely it looks, the more likely.... etc.
I'm a little over half way. Time for breakfast!
That's what I meant - I know it's a word and you know it's a word, but does Babble know it's a word? My attempt at eg4/7 was after Babble had refused realtor, no matter how many times I typed it in. So I was sceptical that it would be taken. But lo! It was and I saideth 'Od's blood!
done!
hooray for hurshy!
Way to go, hurshy!
Any help/clue for the re6/21 please.
re 6/21 - to fix
believe it or not, Realtor is a trademark word.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who missed that one - the re6/21, I mean. I felt quite da4/8 after searching forever for it!
ooh thanks for the da amanda :)
harp - that was the only plausible explanation I could think of for realtor not eing accepted. Thanks for confirming. YW, LeslirAnn - I like that word. I'm going to try to use it more often.

Erm, to save my proclivities being questioned, I meant I like the word. Must try to use it in every day conversation. LOL.

Got that, thanks, FMitch. The frenzied woman was my last 'ma'.

Attempting to shoot quail in Texas, Lola. Managed to keep it quiet for 24 hours. The old geezer seems to be pulling through.
temple, for one of them add what you catch something in, the other means to be engrossed in something : )
Form an orderly queue! Right, en6/21 - sounds like what a present has done before it's give. Or what the police do to ctahc a suspect using a plant (without the middle t)
Anj, let the right hand go first babe... : )
mab, never understood the need that some people have to go out and kill things anyway : /
thanks anj and lola !
Hello
Hi harp : )
i have two left...
It was very sportsmanlike. A sedan drove the hunters to good quail spots. Poor old Cheney has one foot in the grave plus a few toes of the other foot. I would think the recoil of a rifle would send him straight into defib. Ok. I'm stopping now.
Howdy miz harp.
Hi Harp : ) Temple, doesn't that look strange, lol ; )
Anj? What does a girl need to do round here for a clue to the first pa5/12? *lola resists urge to bat eyelashes*

hi kids! I'm reusing last week's icon, in my tribute to the Monty Python musical Spamalot! hey, Anj, nice icon!
I teach morons! No, they're good people, but one was a bit of a pill today. I teach them grammar and punctuation.
Hi boreetos! : )
Hi boreetos, It's like looking in a mirror
Brigadoon! sweet!! I really wanted a Seven Brides for Seven Brothers icon, but couldn't find one. :)
hi Deutsch! true dat!!
Thank you, Lola en 5/10?
Hmmm. I should check into that area, Deutsch. Nan, your icon is charming. Was Audrey Hepburn ever anything but?

Thanks, again -- away to watch the end of the curling now.
in deed. Viva Las Vegas would have been good too. "Bright light city gonna set my soul, gonna set my soul on fire!"
boreetos, I haven't watched it for years but it was one of my faves as a kid. A bit cheesy but very romantic! : )
It's contract training, Mab. I work with some local colleges in their continuing ed unit.
my mom was really into musicals when i was a kid, so I've seen more than my fair share of them.
the king and i is my favorite....
including but not limited too Brigadoon, but yeah not for a long time.
boreetos, yup, same here. How many times did you have to watch camelot?? lol : )
I'm not sure but I've seen Grease two thousand four hundred and seventeen times.
temple, loved that one too! What did you think of anna and the king?
ha 8/50?
jodie foster rules!
boreetos, lol! : D
sadly, I've also seen Grease 2 a number of times.
Camelot, Seven Brides, King and I -- I love all of those. Ok. Thanks Deutsch.
but Michelle Pfieffer was in her prime!!
it was ok - but anothing can compare to yul and debra!our high school did a musical every year...
ha8- ha plus consonant plus ap5/12 : )
she's not very active lately, is she, boreetos?
temple, I know! that's what I thought, it was missing something.
i was in a production based on Singin in the Rain when I was in high school. It was called "And then there was Sound" A lot of fun, we wrote all the dialogue and music. good times.
i can't say i'm a fan of musicals but looking back, i remember i saw many rogers and hammerstein ones at saturday matinees...the best!
thank you lola!
btw - clues anyone?
I saw singing in the rain in London when I was twelve....it really did rain on stage! An amazing experience : )
I've changed outfits to another fav musical.
temple, if no one wants clues you could always get us another drink ; )
ah...it's like magic when you see theater as a child! i got to see sound of music on braodway because my borhter's teacher's sister was one of the children...magical! to this day i have not seen the movie!
lola, that's awesome! Singin in the Rain was just here a few months ago and they did a similar thing I think. I wasn't able to go, but it looked really cool.
*gets out old mr boston bartending guide* *throws guide away* will a choclate martini do, dear?
temple, you should! I've seen it on the SA stage but nothing compares to Julie Andrews! boreetos, it was! And we are not talking gentle rain either, it poured down! : D
Oh yes! I haven't tried one of those yet : )
that's a whole lot of water! but yeah TO, you should really see the Julie Andrews version, its pretty great.
"Don't know whyyyyy there's no sun up in the sky, stormy weather..." *kersplooosh!* : D

We're knights of the Round Table, we dance whene'er able, we do routines, and chorus scenes, and inpersonate Clark Gable! we dine well here in Camelot, we eat Ham, and Jam, and Spam a lot!!
Howdy all! Hope you all had a great weekend. Didn't have a chance to babble since I was visiting the in-laws. :) Had to pick SOuth Pacific since that was my "professional" debut at the tender age of 6 in the Florida State University production (I was an island girl!!)
lola, that's a line from Moulin Rouge right?! :)
Jen, all coconuts and grass skirts then? : ) How were the outlaws??
boreetos, I was picturing julie running through the valleys but if you prefer MR then that's fine too! : D
Aww, Jen, how sweet! I love South Pacific. In fact I like almost any musical in which the score is not written by Andrew Lloyd Webber (apologies to Webber fans - I just can't stand him!)
Actually, I wore a sarong and had my hair dyed black and my body tanned with stage makeup! Then went on to add my child-like voice in other productions including Ballad of Baby Doe and my first Sound Of Music (later went on to co-star in a production of it as the Mother Superior... yes, I could hit the high note!) Good visit... they were excited to see their only grand child.
Hi jen! : )
yeahyeah Austria is beautiful whatever. But Moulin Rouge has Nicole Kidman!
"Think of this as Masculine toast and Masculine butter!"
mab, me too! Except for JC superstar, I liked that : )
hey jen!
Hi Jen!
To-day I am out of my indentures, and to-day I leave you for ever... since i had to play frederic(before implants hahaha) in the pirate pennzance - i decided it was my best choice!!

'bye boreetos, keep whistling 'your song', lol! : D
hey ahj!
Hi ren : )
Love G and S. Hi rennie. You and Jen -- how I envy the ability to sing on stage. or, just to sing.
Hey mab! :) Singing I could do, acting was only so-so. I think that's why I wasn't cast as Maria... too big a part!
Ah, well, Jen: 'Climb every mountain.....'
Ahj?? OK, them "Keeeeep yer hand on yer ha'penny, cover it well with your palm la la la la lah..." : D
Or should I say 'ya wanna live in this lousy world? Play it cool. Boy, boy, crazy boy, play it cool boy, real coooool'
'got a rocket in you pocket, keep it cooley cool, boy...'
I like to live in A-mer-i-ca! O-K my me in A-mer-i-ca!
Maria! Say it loud and there's music playing, Say it soft and it's almost like praying.
when you're a jet you're a jet all the way...
Smoke on your pipe and put that in!
'I'll never stop saying Maria, Maria, Maria, Mariiiiiia, Maria...'
temple, sing with me now!....'I feel pretty! Oh so pretty! I feel pretty and witty bright! And I pity any girl who isn't me tonight!
oh - got to go! see you all tomorrow!
'I think I'll go back to San Juan' 'I know a boat you can get on' 'Everyone there will give big cheer' 'Everyone there will have moved here'

Give me down to there, hair! Shoulder length, longer, hair!
OOOOOOO-OOOOOH, say can you see.... my-y eyes .... if you can.... then my hair's too short!!!!
I would just like to say that it is my opinion that longer hair and other flamboyant affectations of appearance are nothing more than the male's emergence from his drab camoflage into the gaudy plumage that is the birthright of his sex.
MAMA!
: D
ooo, that was GOOD, harp!!! MamaBear!!!!
you go, harp!
Down to here... Down to there... Down to where.... down to where it's not by itself... Don't never have to cut it cuz it's not by itself!!!!!
There is a peculiar notion that elegant plumage and long feathers are not proper for the male but AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAA cually that is the way things are in most species.
If you see him tell him that Angela and I don't want the two dollars back, just him....

when chandler and joey said a wrong answer in the lightning round, ross moved on to another question right away. when rachel and monica couldn't get chandler's job, they kept guessing and ross just let the time run out. so the whole thing was unfair.
but it was FUUUUNNNYYYY!!!!
:) yes. :)
but riddle me this: why, when phoebe got married, was there no hint of frank, alice, the triplets, her birth mother, her father...
dunno . . .
Thanks, Hurshy -- odd how you can monkey type all around something and never come up with the right one!
and why, in barbados, did rachel seem as if she had to make an effort to recall curious george, when it had been clearly stated in an episode with marcel that rachel had a curious george doll. doesn't add up.
marcel!!!!!
remember the line? "let's just say my curious george doll is no longer curious." there was also one about a barbie not being able to wear white to her wedding.
marcel and the lion sleeps tonite . . . classic!!
in the jungle, the mighty jungle...
don't you love when they all sing it at the movie set, and joey goes all high?
does nobody here love friends besides me and une?
*i think they're ready for us to move on* :-)
i sensed that.
HI all! hurshy- al7. add article? what?
alternate spelling of rose of sharon
hi smaller :D
an article is a word like "a" "an" or...
and, oh, i should have mentioned that the two vowels you have to add don't both go on the end, one goes before the end, and they are both the same as each other.
HI Sherb! hursh-i must be off on the root. thought it was the al5/10, understand article def, but no two vowels by where i end up apres article
eureka!!! LOL
ok, my clue was horrible. so sorry.
hursh- never! your clues are perfectly enigmatic and fun just like this game. keep it up!
but looks like you weeded your way through it, smaller?
got it!
i think that one was a smidge too enigmatic. :)
Hurshy, are you talking about the definite article?
uh, yeah
any clues for the fa 6/22?
oops, that's fa5/22
th 7? any clues?
so for al7, if you put together things i said at 3:17, 3:22, and 3:39, it should get you there (although possibly giving you a headache on the way)
fa 5/22 the red _____ of courage (rhyme)
th7 "i'm older ___ you." "really, what's your ___?" put 'em together.
thank you, can't say as I've ever heard that word used in a sentence!
i think it's funny as a substitute in that book title :)
urshy, what a fabulous clue. Thanks
hurshy, truly, it's ok. b/c i've purchased bulk quantities of Excedrin Migraine just b/c of your clues. see, no worries. all prepared! tally ho!
oh, harp was talking about the th7, nvm.
ouch, smaller!
LOL!! You know I'm a big fan of a Hurshy Clue!!!!
well, ok...still, it was a low blow... :)
and i like your chocolate bars too
haven't any bars but i'll blow you some hurshy kisses. xxxxxxx
did someone mention chocolate? oh wait, that was me!
don't mention choccolate... I was doing ok until you mentioned chocolate...
awww!!! THANKS!! oh and I like your Hurshy hugs too! (hint hint)
Hey! Is somebody picking on my pal Hurshy??? *slips on brass knuckles and assumes a menacing position*
(((((((smaller))))))))
any clues for al 7 please
wow, i feel so special now.
ha ha ha sherb, i'm eating nestle crunch!
oh no, here we go again. somebody else do it this time.
Oh, it's a jolly 'oliday with hurshy, hurshy makes the sun shine bright....
but i will share. *passes sherb some choc*
just finished a box o smarties!?!?
between smaller, judi, and mab, i am blushing with all the love
hoping they live up to their name to get me through this grid!
I'm completely stuck on the very first ta 4/5. Help?
al 7 - al 5/10 (to change) + little bug that bites your feet
thanks hurshy :D ...*chomps choc*
no bunny that's al8.
ta 4/5 - do you know who played cowardly lion in wizard of oz - rhymes with his last name.
sandy, to recap: for al7, if you put together things i said at 3:17, 3:22, and 3:39, it should get you there (although possibly giving you a headache on the way)
You're right, sorry! Knew there was a reason I was being quiet.
yes, and that is that you're a bunny. :)
Ahhhh! Thank you! We're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful wizard of oz.....WHO KILLED MY SISTER?...follow the yellow brick road, follow the follow the follow the......
btw, i think someone may have asked you this the other day, but why the "vicious"?
al 7 first three letters of al5 (to change), next thee letters Scots to have, finish with a vowel. All reminiscent of Miss Turner's first name. (Former GMTV)
ah, haz has provided an alternative to my headache
My daughter used to be nicknamed babyvicious and sweetie (Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde.). She had a sidekick stuffed bunny named bunnyvicious.
Clue for ma6/30, please?
ma 6/30 a bird
cathyar - do they seem to be working so far?
Thanx much, Hurshy
one for sorrow, two for joy...
three for girl and four for boy?
it 7?
Hey, all! I finally get to work on this.
it7 - sort of a math-y word...the nth term is the nth it7
not really...still 137 words left...tho thanks to u all...i have the 9!!!
if you aren't math-y harp, i can give a diff clue
it7/28 - add almost all of word meaning wandering.
busted. I'll take another clue!
coke comes in a two-l**** bottle, take those four and add the picnic ruiner
haz's is nice too.
oh, THAT math term! Thank you!
well, i think i used it as the wrong part of speech in my sentence anyway, so that is prob why you couldn't get it :)
it's actually an adjective.
36 to go. time to re-boot and take a nap. Thank you all!
I'm no ornithologist and just don't understand the clue about ma6/30 being a bird... I even went to OneLook but no go. Could I please have another, non-bird-related clue? :) Thanks!
it is a kind of bird, that's all. but it can also be slang for one who chatters a lot. and possibly a nickname for someone named margaret - seen "runaway bride"?
ch - they're black and white, they collect things...
ch1212- it could also be a very chatty person... The last three are a yummy pastry.
AH, GOT IT! Thanks, Hurshy -- the runaway bride did it, and the chatterer...
and smithchick and sherb!
*grin* - don't you love the scene where she does the platypus thing? that is prob my favorite julia roberts moment ever
Oh yes! My beloved and I are unabashedly great fans of hers, and own all (I think all) her movies.
well, i'm not like that. but i do like to see someone so gorgeous being so very silly.
As an actress, she's always had that ability to make you forget how beautiful she is, and her willingness to be totally silly makes her seem more like the girl next door.
Julie Andrews was another -- she could do great comedy, and make you forget she had this astonishing beauty and voice.
on a semi-related note, i thought nicole kidman was as cute as a kitten in "bewitched"
ai?
I agree --- it was her voice that was wrong, but I said years ago that if they ever did a remake, she HAD to play Sam, she looks so much like Elizabeth Montgomery.
ai - more full of what we breathe
I just need the ta 7&8, can't seem to monkey em, any help?
it's funny, i don't see THAT much of a resemblance between them. but i didn't really care, i'm not a stickler about things like that. and i thought her voice was one of the cutest things about her (although you're right, nothing like E.M.'s)
ty! geesh, I think I'd typed every possible letter combo but that.
ta 7 rhymes with an upper-level person in an office 8 is pl
well, i guess you just got outnumbered (hahahahaha)
LOL
She pulled it off, that's for sure. LOVED her in Moulin Rouge -- she made me a fan in that one. And of course, ObiWan was amazingly good. Speaking of...haven't seen any icons of that show.
OK, probably never would have monkeyed that! Thanks Hursh (no Excedrin Migraine needed for that clue, it was great). Makes me done, bye now.
bye bunny!
Yea bunnyvicious!
oh, my, and that little dog in bewitched was so cute too!
Bye bunny, congrats!!!!!!!!
and since we're on the 'related notes' I think the best dog I've seen in years has to be the cute little one on As Good As It Gets. I think his name was Arnel, or something like that. Just precious, especially the scene where Jack Nicholson is trying to make him go to the rightful owner.
re5/16?
Help, please..HA 7/36 and HA 8/50...possibly the plural?
re 5/16 ends like what lava is called before it comes out of the ground
yes, there was a great clue for those ha's this morning: the place you put your dirty laundry, but change the M to the symbol for sodium
TY, Hurshy 8)
hello All, can I get a clue for the an 7/28, please?
an 7/28 against what we breathe
an7 - someone protesting about flying. Or an4/4 plus what we breathe.
the re5/20,5/10 and 6/18 are bugging me any assistance would be really appreciated
re 5/20 the IRS comes round again re 5/10 like en 5/10 re 6/18 turn 5/10 into an adj.
thanx hurshy and haz!
oh wait, you're not american, do you know what the IRS is? the government collecting agency.
wow hurshy thank you so much
what do they call the IRS in england?
I must say, I love seeing all the musical icons! I've seen most all of them so far, either live or on film. Hard to concentrate because songs keep popping into my head, and now that Chic has appeared with "Hair" it's just getting worse! When the mooooooonnnn is in the seventh house....
The Inland Revenue - popular people.
robbers!
i am so glad i have you guys to give clues to. it makes me feel like at least i can do SOMETHING right, when a certain kid in my life is making me feel like everything i do is annoying - even when i am being extra nice!
bejay ...i agree wholeheartedly!!!
lol bejay
awe hurshy, feels like just yesterday that i was that kid.
Teenage boys tend to be like that. The ones who don't aren't normal, hurshy.
yeah, i know. but it sure ain't fun.
hurshy: You must have teenagers!!!! how about a clue for the at 6/33
Not that it makes it any easier to deal with.:)
Oh hurshy, sounds like you're doing a great job as a parent. I realized with mine that I WANTED her to be independent, speak up, challenge, think for herself... just, of course, not with me :-) All I can say is it's wonderful to be the parent of an adult person, now, and that we all understand. (((( Hugs ))))
al7?
at6: a plus that government collection plus two vowels
those were the good old days, tragic and misunderstood.
i'm only a pseudo-parent, though. student living with us here at our boarding school because i thought he could use some extra help and TLC.
outnumbered - check back in the log btw 3:15 and 3:45
ahhh, yes... we had a German exchange student, and it is tough when they need a frank discussion about boundaries, courtesy, and so on.
i can see how one can take one's own parents for granted, of course, but when someone unrelated is really going out on a limb for you...
Well hurshy, basically you're parenting the kid whether you gave birth to him or not.
yes, i definitely am. i mean, he could just be living in the dorm like the other kids. i took him in so i could parent him.
My sister is doing the same for my 18 yr. old nephew (still a junior) -son of another sister and she was telling me just today that he is an ungrateful brat.
oh, like jess on gilmore girls!
hi kids
greetings, boreetings
Hi boreetos. Hurshy- don't know. The only shows I really watch are Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. I missed them both last night, though. Bummer!
boreetings, eh?.... yeah ok. :)
i taped DH, but am hoping to see the prev 2 episodes before i watch this one. got way behind bc the cable was out several weeks ago.
sorry boreetos, i'm a little silly :)
nice icon Hurshy, great movie. smithchick what's your icon?
that's ok, silly is good.
Ohmigosh, smithchick -- we tuned into Grey's Anatomy for the first time last week, and HAD to find out what happened with the bomb last night. I'm sorry you missed it! Be sure to watch on the reruns. I was stunned.
my teenager is funny - sometimes he'll be so sweet and grateful and affectionate, and other times cold and hostile and stuff.
hurshy, that's not funny :) just normal. Roller coaster of emotions .. you couldn't pay me enough to be a teenager again!
speaking of medical shows with bombs, anyone remember the ER episode where dr. ... omg i can't remember his name... the black guy who dated corday before she got together with mark... benton! where dr. benton cut that bomb off that guy and threw it in the corner at the last second?
I still can't get it...is the al 7 from the same al 5 as the 8 and 9?
no, outnumbered - its fourth letter is an H
then all vowels after that
Grey's was like that last night, only without the nicer ending. People got killed in the explosion in last night's (but not saying who, no spoilers.)
ooh.
Sorry, tuned out for a while. My icon is Rent. My mother, sister and I went and saw it last year when we went on a NYC trip. Very good.
cannot find the ge6/27 HELP PLEASE if you can
ok, got it! ty, was reading the clues wrong I guess
oh definatley SmithChick, I saw it back in 2001, when it rolled through Seattle, I just couldn't tell! Great show though, did you see the movie version? I heard it wasn't very good.
Well, if life (as portrayed in T.V.) was convenient it would be McDreamy's wife:)
I would love to see that on stage. The movie version was good, though. My icon is a Sondheim musical, in case y'all didn't know. We love all things Sondheim in the house.
ge 6/27 - ich bin ein berliner... etc
hey ch1212, i don't want to alarm you or anything, but one of the S's in Passion is backwards!!
Haven't seen the movie, boreetos. The show was one of those where you do a lot of thinking after seeing it.
true, like don't trust anyone who says you can live for a year in huge building rent free. :)
are there any clues for the th7/40, and the ta7/8 combo (but not the office one, again, I seem to be in a fog today understanding clues!)
Hi,everyone, late start, just got home from work. Wish this puzzle was on the weekend.
got the ge6/27 thanks
boreetos, it's supposed to be that way. It's a layered musical about opposites and love, and what it is and isn't. The 'logo' of the show is with the opposing Ss
Lol, boreetos!
th7 - "i'm older ____ you." "really? i'm 87, what's your ___?" put them together
Hi, periwinkle:)
ta 7 - what you go to the beach to get, plus how old you are, plus one more consonant, ta8 is pl
ch1212. :)
hurshy, as always, you are the CLUEMEISTER or MEISTRESS... thx!!
speaking of not trusting people, have you seen that commercial or infomercial for the stuff that helps you focus, and how they'll send you a free bottle. and this woman says, "they'll give you some for FREE? it must be good!" and you can't help thinking, "the first sample of cocaine is free..."
LOL! hurshy!
Haven't seen it, hurshy.
what, it's true.
wow, uh no, I haven't seen that. That's pretty messed up. Have you seen those twisted anti-smoking ads with the dolls? One has a little girl chewing on a dead rat, and the tagline reads: "Kissing a smoker is just as gross."
i guess you can't get teenagers' attention without shock value these days...
got my attention, chewing on rats you say?
I guess if I was a smoker, I might be offended by that, just a little. Hi, evan...
heya - as a non smoker/chewer - i think it an excellent comparison
yeah, i mean i don't smoke, but I imagine that fear tactics aren't the best way to keep children from trying it.
either that or make'em use a whole pile of cigarettes in one sitting, make them hate it
having never kissed anyone who was a smoker either, I really have no basis for comparison, so maybe they're right. :)
I think someone needs to do that with me and Krispy Kreme donuts!
i'll be right over with a box smith chick, we'll get started
well crap, 150 words to go. I gotta to get back to work. Have a great rest of the day everyone!
ello all, can anyone please give me a clue for the an 7/28
did someone say krispy kreme?
mmmmmmmm krispy kremes..... forbidden donuts...rlrlrlllrllalrllrlall rlalrl *drools* mmmmmmmmmmmm
an 7/28 against what we breathe
Bring it on, evan! Bye boreetos and hi ruthy!!
hmmm, the closest krispy kremes are 30 minutes away
ty hurshy
We have to go over an hour! It's probably a good thing:)
help please for the ne5/10...i just cannot see it
Plural of the ne4/4 above it.
smithchick thankyou but it is the other na5/10 i need
anyone have the very first ga6/24 and ga7/36 not even sure if they go together
so sorry i must be tiring ...it is the ne5/10 i need
sorry, thought you said ne5/10:)
What part of speech are the word as if? Preposition?
Hey speedfreak! It is a water mammal (shortened and spelled differently). It's actually some kind of waterproof over shoe thingie mabob:)
ma 6/24?
The last ne5/10 is like a spongy ball but with a different consonant and pluralized.
Hey, I just found Blue's friend! Ma7!
Missing cybernan's ma6/24, too.
smithchick, I think I know what water mammal you are talking about but can't seem to figure out the spelling. for the ga word
smithchick ...thank you once again and sorry for the confusion, but i did get it in the end
Hey Speedfreak its what holds your socks up and pluralised
smithchick, I found it. sounds like the water mammal, I figured it out.
No problem, mo:) Glad you got it!
found almost 100 words by myself or with clues, have not looked at BJ's list yet. I am doing so much better thanks to the two months I was home with a knee injury. Must break for dinner for me and for my cat who is carrying on like she never gets to eat 8)
Thanks all kept going to the wrong a for the ga words!!
anyone got the first ma? - ma 6/24?
Bye, periwinkle! Come back and finish!!
Love, love, love Grease, speedfreak!
I second cybernan's request!
cybernan...a frenzied woman
mo -- saw that clue earlier in the log -- still no wiser!
Cybernan, i googled the clue and the first result was the answer.
ma...West film star+ an anagram of and....a strange word!!
cybernan, just monkey-typed it. ma + second vowel + go***.
Thank you, Smithchick
First two fa's? 5/22 and 5/16
Went back thru the log and can't seem to find anything on the ma7/40 Help
speedfreak it is a colour
ma 7/40 reddish purple color
ma 7/40: a colour -- a little more pink than maroon
fa 5/22 the red ____ of courage (rhyme)
speedfreak, it's a colour, and a generally bright one at that.
fa 5/16 f, double vowel, short sleep minus p
Got it right away with your clues Thanks
not DOUBLE vowel in the sense of two of the same, just two vowels
Thanks, Hurshy -- I swear I tried that 5/22 several times last night and it was declared invalid every time!
fr 5/16?
cybernan fr+ an old fashioned girls name
Thanks, mo
I've got to oversee piano practice. Be back in a bit...
yw cybernan
Down to four t's: tr 5/12 (between stair part and reward) te 4/5 (bet. camp gear and semester) first two ta's: ta 4/5 and 5/12
i dont suppose anyone can help with the fa6/33 please
just found the ta's that rhyme with actor, Bert (from Oz)
fa 6/33: fa 4/7 + southern state
tr 5/12 is BEFORE stair part - that may help you
southern state, not Alabama
te 4/5 add not ma but...
wow, i don't see how fa 6/33 relates to any southern state, and i have it.
OH, i get it now.
cybernan thank you so much...got it!
Thank you -- t's are done!
there should be a special fish for that.
congrats, cybernan...could you help me with a clue for the ta5/6 combo that is NOT the narrow candles? Please and thanks!
No need Hurshy -- remember the comments a few weeks back about looking at the grid sideways? lol
ooh i can i can! spuds, tubers, fries, tots...
hmm...sideways...must have missed that conversation...
ch 1212 -- it is not a combo ta 4/5 (first one) rhymes with Bert *** - actor who played the lion in the Wizard of Oz ta 5/12 is the plural
thanks, cybernan, I got those... I meant the ta 5/12 and ta 6/21 duo that are not the narrow candles... thanks!
ch1212 me gave clue me gave clue!
ta 6/21 is a poisonous Aussie snake (but sounds Japanese): ta + first person singular + ***s and pans
hurshy, you did? Where? (looks frantically around, searching...)
i give more if nec.: baked, mashed, au gratin, scalloped, boiled, smashed...
5:58
sorry gang, I goofed OOPs! pots and ***s
re 5/16? -- following the gaucho's rope
evenin babblers!!
ch1212 -- the clues I gave you are for the first three ta words.
hurshy, cyber... just whip me with a wet noodle. My error in what I was asking for. I just went to BJ's list and realized what I'm missing: one of the ta 6/21's that follow the narrow candle (I have the plural), and the ta5/12 that follows the strange ta7 word right after the two 6/21's... is that clear as mud? THANK YOU!!!
The 5/6 combo half way down the list are the narrow candles.
Drop the last letter from the ta 7
still looking for the re 5/16
ta5 - add beginning of ***ates of the caribbean
re 5/16 ends like what lava is called before it comes out of the ground
Thanks cybernan! (I can be taught!) got the other 6/21... now just need that ta5/12 between the singular spud (I know, not the def :) and the ta7 - please!
ch1212 - like cnan said, drop end of following 7
thanks hurshy!! Got it! DONE! Just in time too -- husband due to walk in the door in about one minute. Gotta go -- hate to babble and run.
oh, got lost in the maze there. oh well, glad you're done!
Thank you, Hurshy *dancing a jig over the finish line*
Congrats ch1212
Hi, all.
and congrats cnan!
Need help with one, please - the an7/28. Thanks....
an 7/28 against what we breathe
ah, you are all here! Hello
Hey again. I'm taking a break from helping my son with homework before one of us hurts the other. Grrrr....
Thanks for the clue hurshy! All done. G'night everyone!
Bye charm, congrats!
remind me how old your son is, smithchick? and what hw?
hurshy... did you request brangelina day for 11 Feb ?
Hurshy-13 and it's English, which I used to really excel at. NOT ANYMORE! Parts of speech. through, when, while, etc.
... or did babbler just put it on that day by chance?
Would someone be so kind as to give me a clue for the tr6/21?
i didn't request it at all!
tr 6/21 add na4/6 backwards
tr 6 21, looks like it means "three pot"
sorry, 4/5
terrorist pose a th 6/21
*sympathy for smithchick*
Much appreciated, hurshy:)
oopss just jumping in and misread sorry
mr pres - that was babbler's own thought.
nb, blaze:)
Oops meant np, blaze!
it is not the word finding that makes it difficult it is the fingers doing the typing.....for me anyway
I'm back after dinner break. Probably will not finish since I want to watch some of the Olympics before I go to bed.
I'm challenged both ways, blaze.

ma 6/24?
thanks cybernan
ma 6/24: anagram of lion's long hair + abbrev. for what you put in the newpaper when you want to sell something.
ha 8 (pl. 7/36): what you put dirty laundry in -- replace second vowel with salt symbol.
thank you cyber!
Oops -- not salt, sodium
Hey all... back yet again for my last dozen...
Hey Jera! How the heck are ya?
Got to run -- time to put supper on -- see you at the flip :)
cybernan, can't figure out how to get the ha8 with your clue
Bye cybernan, thanks for the help!

You put dirty clothes in a laundry ha**** -- change the second consonant to the symbol for sodium
A little chilly today smithchick... no heat in puter room, but trying to finish anyway!
ha + na4/5 + consonant
sorry -- totally messed up my first clue -- no wonder you couldn't figure it out!
Hamper isn't a grid word... it's okay to say it, isn't it??
Brrrr... Rap up in a warm, cozy throw! That's what I have to do. Hubby is to cheap to keep us warm.:)
cybernan, got it now, thanks
It's just the way our house is built... the 2 front rooms are actually enclosed porch, so no heat. Well, there's electric, but it doesn't work.

pa 7/40... what beauty contestants are in... 8 is plural...
Whew... wasn't sure I was being clear...
ma7/40, pa8/45 and ta8/50 anyone?
ma 7/40 = very bright pink
thanks Jera, got the ma7
pa 8/45 = as in the rights of those who gave birth to a child
found the ta8/50
Blues' buddy on Blues Clues (ma7) pa8/45- part of a movie rating
hey, if anyone sees babbler, tell her she's duplicated today's theme on march 2. (unless she's updated it since i copied the list...?)
ta 8/50 = plural of the ta 7/36 right before... it's a bird, often scarlet
Oops, sorry, you're too fast for me!
Jera and smithchick, thanks
Well, if I don't finish, I will at least have all of the long words,
have more than half of the words, will play a little longer, really appreciate the clues
ap 5/12? not the plural one?
harpjane, do you have the one that means separate?
ap5/12 separate from
Yes, I have that one. I need the very last one! (ap5)

I love cats too!!!
That's sweet that your dad named you after a musical!
yeah, he used to sing the songs to me when i was little. :)

Well if the help needed has tapered off, I will scoot along to spend time with the family...

:O jera
Jera, don't go yet, fa5/22 and fa6/33 please
does anyone else know what a birthday symbol is? i mean we already did signs of the zodiac...
'sok peri. fa 5/22 the red ____ of courage (rhyme)
Maybe it's more open... flower, stone, etc.??
fa 6/33 - thing that blows air plus how old you are, backwards
hmm, ok
my last one? at6?
fa6 = fa4/7 + abbr for Georgia (state)
thanks hurshy, got them both
got it! done!
harpjane, may I have a clue for that at6
at6 = a + cab + a
FORTY FOUR A'S?????????????????????????? ??????????
Hi, MamaBear!!!
peri, it's a kind of stroke, I think. Contains a 5 point letter? at6
thanks Jera
Hi mamabear!
I'm missing the re7. Am I just being completely dense?
*pats MamaBear comfortingly on the paw* It's not so bad when you break them into second letter chunks...
I'm thinking I better not even start this thing...
re 7 = 1st 4 letters of scaley creature like a snake + picnic ruining insect
MamaBear, It is not as bad as some of the other puzzles, give it a try, you can do it.
Oh and forgive my rudeness.... hi to everyone! Was taken aback by the A thing... and forgot my manners
If you are just now starting, MamaBear, it would be stressful to finish, i think... can you just have fun finding a few or are you compelled to finish??
UP to 150 which is more than 1/2 of the words. off to watch the Olympics. may come back later if I am not too tired.
Hi, mamabear. Could someone tell me what part of speech together is? I can't remember and I'm too babble-brained to think of it.
I tend to lean toward the compelled to finish side.
Oooh... maybe you could just chat with us a bit then, MamaBear? :D
TY Jera! Finished the r's!!
I'm thinking "adverb", smithchick.... but it's been a long time .. not 100% sure
Glad to be helpful, smithchick!!
is is a verb
Those R's were no joke... whew!
How a verb? It's not an action??
because being something is an action The dog is brown Dog is subject is is the verb brown is the adjective
Could you guys please help me out? I need 2 words RE 7/32 and TA 6/18 ...the 1 after the birds. I haven't been very chatty tonite. I'm just trying to get thru :(
gaahh!! i'm having problems with the two "i" words! anyone else?
also known as a predicate. (Oh I hope none of these words are in today's puzzle. I'm not really here)
I thought she was asking what part of speech "together" is..... I could have misunderstood.
together is an adverb...it describes how something is (to be) so it modifies that verb
Duh I'm the idiot that couldn't read the question. Told you I wasn't really here.
it plus a vowel and **** and rave
together is an adverb
that's what I thought!!! :)
the little i is full of vowels other than the high point consonant ( which is the 2nd letter)
mxzombie, those clues were a bit convoluted. Did they help tho?
So how was everyone's day?????????
Never mind I got the ta 6....still need the re 7, please.
Hey there Mamabear...^_^
mama, glad you asked. I threw up last night. Don't know why. I don't feel sick. Anyway I decided to stay home today. Yay!
Thanks everyone, I thought that too, but he has only a limited number that can be adverbs, so I needed to make sure. He must have missed another. My 13 yr. old thanks you, too. This is what happens when you are absent and then forget to bring your book home to do make-up work!
:( well, I'm glad you aren't sick-sick, harpjane!!!!
Hello everyone who came in on the chat log while I was busy not helping my son with his homework!
that's what mom's are for, chick!!! Well, one of the things anyway!
Got the last 1....c ya
Just took a gander at the stats grid. 38 P's???????? Yikes!!!! The P stands for palpitations - which it gave me when I saw it!!! LOL
I think I'm fine. I have to make lasagna tonight. That will be a test....
lasagna is a lot of work to make! ARe you sure you are up to it?
I've had a good day today but a busy one. Haven't even looked at the second letter list on banon. There is no way I'm going to finish. I keep typing words in when I see htem but I'm not pushing it tonight.
Okay got another. It's confusing because it can be an adjective, a pronoun, or a conjunction. that- as in "feelings that draw people together"
does anyone have any clues to spare for the first an5/10 & 6/18? I'm missing a lot of the an;'s and just need to get myself oriented.
I think it's still an adverb, since it is modifying the action "to draw"
He's filled his quota of adverbs unless tired (as in- they looked tired and afraid) isn't one.
Well, I'm off to tuck the littlies in bed... might be back for the turnover... rotten cold makes sleep impossible for any length of time... goof night, all!
Night Jera, TY for all the great clues!
good nite jera - good to see you and hope you feel better and sleep well!!!! *get better hugs*
1st an 5/10 = a + opposite of far... the 6 is its plural
night jera
Thanks jera!
*vanishes in a puff of fa6/27 dusy (not in today's grid)*
gotta go for a min..... brb
Phew! Finally finished! Takes much longer when trying to do homework, too. :)
If nobody needs any clues, I'm going to go help Tim some more. Anyone?
not me smithchick...just dropped in to say hey!!!
No thanks Smithchick. Have fun doing homework!
Hey, ren. How are ya?
Thanks, musicmom. It wasn't fun then and it isn't fun now, though:)
i'm hanging out smithchick...just arrived home from the office!!!
I know we have been doing simple and compound interest here. ICK!
Eewww. Well, my children surpassed my ability to do math long ago (except the 2nd grader- I can still keep up with her). Shhh, don't tell hurshy:)
what's w/ all the P's again???????
That's a long day, ren...
The interest stuff wasn't too bad because we just bought a house and went through all that. Plus I do direct sales and deal with percentages all the time. Science is the subject that frustrates me.
yes amithchick...sometimes i long for the days prior to eduction...when i had a pet barricuda and didn't have a watch!!!
musicmom - are your children doing interest?
LOL, ren!
not only did i not have a watch somedays i wondered if i would have a hand left or right after feeding time...
Sorry stepped out for a minute. Yes Sarah (the 11 year old) has been doing interest.,
Well, I guess I'm outta here. Bye all:)
later smithchick - thanks for the chuckles!!!!
bye smithchick
mm - that is interest - ing...
I see your point Ren.

Hi Jac. What time is it by you? Need help? Weird and wondeful words on this grid!
And thank you too.
I only came in to change my icon for St. Valentine's Day. Mind you, I think my love is miffed with me for still being on pc and not in bed.:-(
Hoot - Thanks for the offer but I finished the grid about 5.30/6pm in the UK afternoon. It is now 2.50am here.
Oh good grief - why are you up? I thought I was the onlt owl around here! :)
I'm a creature of the night, too, Hoot, hence the name.
Yeah. My Bf wasn't too happy with me either. But he'll be working the 4 nights so I'll be able to get on all night if I want!
What time is it with you, Hoot?
Or maybe not if I can't type normal english...
mistress!!!!!!!
LOL, Ren. Hello.
8:55pm right now. Does your flip come at our time or yours?
Hi Ren
The flip comes at 6am for us, Hoot.
hey hoot!!! i'm just waiting on a train.....LOL
Hello Doxy. Have you got snow there in Utah? Time to make that stew, if so!
That has got to be confusing across the world! But at least , if you sleep, you're wide awake instead of nodding over the keyboard.
not much snow, just cold. I have 6 days off coming up. i'm thinking about making it this weekend.
Ren - what musical does your icon represent?
hey doxy!!!
ta7?
Doxy - I take it that by 'making it' you mean the stew?? LOL.
Hi Doxy - And anyone else who wanders in!
yes, the stew. I'm really tired, had 2 very busy days at work.
Angel - ta7 & its pl. 8 - Any of various small New World passerine birds of the family Thraupidae, often having brightly colored plumage in the males and usually living in forests. (Sounds like a kid/kids over 12 but not yet 20)

The first is a bird - second adhesive ta**+ greek or indian for lentils
Sorry, Doxy. Being Taurean I have rather an 'earthy' sense of humour.
you ought to work where I do. We can come up with some really "earthy" things there too. I'm used to that kind of sense of humor.
Ren - you WERE? Oh. I will wait with baited breath.:-)
I watched South Pacific for about the 10th time yesterday, whilst doing the ironing, thanks to this theme day.
But, as I said earlier, what on earth possessed them to name the heroine Nelly Forbrush??
I belive that was realism back then And I think it's Forbish
mistress...it's sent!!!!
Hoot - I just checked the film (which is one year younger than myself) - it's Nellie Forbush.
Ren - I will go and look.
i hope you like it mistress!!! 8)
ta5/12 following the ta 7/32?
angel song, it's an antelope. change one letter in the previous 5/12
well, ok. it's not an antelope. But it's an animal.
Interesting. On-line distionaries don't have it. Think it's a pig. Or sloth. Or sompin like that...
The ta is related to horses and rhinos but not pigs.
Found it on Wikipedia. Looks like a pig with a long snout. But it isn't.
Use ta5/12 (to narrow) and change the 2nd vowel to a first person singular vowel.
hi everyone!
evening all... trying on outfits for tomorrows theme -- anyone care to give a little feedback?

2nd to last te4/5 - A crystalline organophosphorus compound, C6H12N3OP, used as an insect sterilant and in the treatment of certain forms of cancer. (Anagram of the 'ta' word I just gave you a clue for.)

YW
lg...yep...yw
The BF was sleeping cause he's been working nights and I was able to work on it this afternoon. Weird, weird words. Lots of monkey typing. He'll be working the next 4 nights and I may be able to finish them all. I may be new at Babble but not new at Boggle. A favorite!
Then after 4 days off he'll start day shift and who knows?
Hoot, then your experience will serve you well. (I had no doubts!) So, if he's working tomorrow night, will you get a belated special valentine's day?
Not sure. He may have something planned for the morning. We'll see. And I may not tell! :D:D:D
How is everyone doing?
Have a great time then. Okay, I think I will head off then. If I stick around, I'll just get sucked in at the flip. Take care everyone!
54 more left -- don't think i'll finish tonight . i am on the r's then s's and t's.
I changed into mt Valentines Day outfit
Hi Nan. Is that Audrey Hepburn?
Night Kris
My Fair Lady
Aha! Thought I recognised it! Amazingly boring movie.
Greetings!
I love that movie
I am amking a general hello to all the flip visitors! HI!
I think I better go to bed .
Time to change costumes -- would anyone like one?
Goodnight, hootowl :)
Doxy it's just different tastes. I was into it until about 2/3 of the way thru.
Night Nan
that is true. there are other movies that some people love and I really don't care for.
Want to compare? :D
nah, I think the list would be too long, hehehe!!!! :D
I also admit to predjudice. I hate when someone makes a show famous but is "not good enought" for a movie. Bull!
Might be fun though. Get a lot of different opinions from this crowd methinks!
Does anyone else feel like this game is like New Years Eve every night?
I think you are right about the opinions here. Lots of different personalities
I'd love to have that conversation though. But not, I think, here.
