I agree. Ever since I was a small child I sensed that being single was right for me. On a deeper level, I know there were many lessons I needed to experience and learn, and I accepted that, usually with contentment and real happiness. My beloved was a monk for 20 years, and I was pretty upset when he first left ... then voila! a miracle happened :D. We're both evolving in new ways.
And you do great when you give clues! -- sometimes I think people get to caught up in giving cryptic clues -- though their creativity is fun to witness (when I am not the one wanting the clue ;D )
thanks, gw. I must say, I looked at your profile -- a Taoist! And Wiccan too --- it's a unique combination. I studied the Tao briefly in the course of world religion studies. And one of my dear friends in school is Wiccan. Both serious approaches to spirituality and living. Good for you!
Thanks ch -- I came to both by accident -- I was never raised within a religion so I developed my own pattern of faith which was very strongly influenced by the SF I grew up on -- then when I met my wife and Wicca I found that it was a very close fit --- Then I found the Tao and it filled in the gaps :D
What a great faith journey! I was also heavily influenced by the Science Fiction I grew up with -- mostly hard core Asimov, Heinlein, Clarke, Bradbury, Zelzany, Ellison, Blish. I lived in Hawaii for years as a kid, and when I rebelled against my family religion my mom (bless her!) encouraged me to seek other paths. Hawaii is a crossroads of the world culturally and spiritually. So I had an amazing opportunity to attend Buddhist and Hindu services in addition to many, many Christian churches. Sounds like you found your Way too.
ch -- the only author you listed that I have not read much of is Blish --- otherwise while growing up I used to referred to the holy trinity of Asimov, Bradbury, and Clarke with Heinlein as their prophet (shades of heresy! :D ) --- but Zelazny's Amber is one of my Favorite realms which I reread almost annually

She was quite a snappy dresser was my Gt.Gran., right up until her death at the age of 92! No wonder her only son became a master tailor and theatrical costume maker.
Same look, just darker color w/blond highlights to cover the hated grey. I've got seven years on you. But to be fair I started getting grey streaks when I was in my 20's. Can't blame it on my kids or husband since everyone is grown and gone----except my hubby. He hasn't grown or gone. :-)

Once you start colouring, it's hard to stop! I was very blonde as a child, got darker, got greyer, but am helping things along with highlights.
i'm too poor, but not too cheap - highlights work wonders
evanonut.....back then it looked "cool". Everyone was getting their hair streaked and mine was natural. Now I'd be almost all grey/white. More salt than pepper. I'd "LIKE" to think I'm too young to go all grey yet., HENCE the coloring..........

Mama: Good luck on the cold. Maybe we are getting your cold instead of you. But, hang in there. I went out walking last Thursday @ 7:00 am and it was 24 degrees. I double gloved and had a hat and a scarf, plus a very warm hat. I stoled my husband's long underwear that he used for hunting, and I was OK. My hands were the coldest, so don't know what to do with my hands since I doubled gloved.
Ren: If I take one tree down, I have to take them all down. And, it is really a beautiful site to see all the trees, but, if I only take a few down it leaves the rest in jeopardy. Trees suvive better when in a clump rather than standing alone, as far as falling that is.
jojo -we also had a pine struck by lighting. i grow trees from seedlings and replace the ones i've lost and add to my tree lines.
Ren: What happened, as far as insurance, when your tree took out your neighbors sitting room? Did your insurance pay out or did their's have to pay out. I have always heard that trees were a different animal when it came to accidents. How did yours come out?
