i need some more help - i see friends of babble, but i don't see where i can get the total # of words in the puzzle; also if i leave the game, can i save it & play it later, if so how?
there's an 11???????????????????????????? LOL!!!
I have a vaporiser, Blaze --- it's a good thing his sister doesn't need it tonight :)
there are 335 words in this puzzle.. the new stats will not be posted for almost 12 hours..(?) any thing you leave will be here when you get back... just start looking and have fun
helenkeller - it ususally takes some time for the stats to be posted - they'll be under the Friends of Babble ---> Babbler's Anonymous site.... Once in Babbler's Anon - Click on General and then Stats...it will have the 2nd letter list with the point value
GW that is good... hope all stays well.....
335!! too rich for me!! see ya all later! bye (wave)
helenkeller - you'll also see clues posted in the log.... for example - ea 4/4 means the word starts with ea - has 4 letters for 4 points total (point values are under the Babble Rules at the top of the page)
to bed I go. good nite everyone!!!! Good luck with this monster!!!! (leave me a list under the mat on your way out!!!!) ((((((((((hugs)))))) )))))))))))

east & blaze, ty very much for your help - i play tangleword on iwin.com & it was down all week, just got back up yesterday & we all were discussing where we were spending our time & someone came here & said it was fun & he got a really nice reception - i'm gonna give it a try
Good Evening, All -- how's it looking?
its a monster, c-nan!!
Hello Nan Jump in helen it will take a few grids and this one looks especially menacing.... but it is a lot of fun and good people....to help
helen - this is a bit of a doozie for a puzzle to start (since it's rather large....) but the group that's in here is great....always willing to help with clues!!
Welcome, Helen -- the more the merrier.
big words... lots of plurals , past tenses and plural past tense......
Monster is putting it mildly, GW.
helen -- welcome to the insanity that is Babble -- as you have seen, don't hesitate to ask any questions that you may have -- if we don't answer directly, we will tell you where to find the info you need :)
S10/77 S11/96
L7/28
LOL, c-nan -- somehow it's not that scary when I look down and see Sebastian sleeping in my lap ;)
iceboy are those words refering to jury duty....??

helen - we'll give you our standard warning too...this game pretty addictive!!! : )
i7/32 & i8/45
Blaze - they have to do with a meteorite
lol east
another i8/45
s 11... meteorite !! pretty one too!
in tangleword, you are able to rotate the board for different perspectives, i keep trying to do that here, not working too well, lol
t 7/28
good evening everyone. It's a bad hair day.
and an i8/40 I am a bit slow on using all my suffixes today ;D
S 8/50, evening all again...
r8/45
might I have a small clue for those big I's please (())
hi chic & doxy....
hi EB.
in7/32 -- builds of the in6 meaning within plural for the 8
the other 2 in8 build off the in6 meaning to forcibly assert
so you guys who are using the 'code words' have the babble pro?
both of the i's are grayed. woohoo!!!
What do you mean by code words helen?
Cheers for doxy!
helen - babble pro gives you a stats panel - shows how many words start with each letter in the grid.... also gives you a grid to tell you how many words (eg. 4 letter words = 102).... the codes are based upon the players simply finding them....
some do have the babble pro but the code is start letter.... number of letters in word and value of word some times there are second letters added the clues are from everyone to everyone after the word has been found
helen -- going pro grants you access to a stat board that breaks down how many words of each length there are in the puzzle as well as a mini grid that tells you how many words start in each square for example the L starts a total of 40 words in this grid
helenkeller, welcome to Babble...you will find resources for the game at Babbler's Anonymous via the link to your right. the game changes once daily, at midnight central time; you can always come back to the game and it will be saved for you automatically.
Great clues, GW -- thanks.
angelsong, your kitty is great.
That reminds me -- for our non pro friends :) 335 total words 4-letter words: 102 5-letter words: 99 6-letter words: 83 7-letter words: 35 8-letter words: 14 10-letter words: 1 11-letter words: 1
Love the beehive, Eastern! -- can't believe we actually spent so much time teasing our hair into that shape.
done with the dreaded q's.
Has d 8/55 been called yet?
cyber - it was a little before my time...but I often wondered how people could hold all that hair on their head!!!
EB, they used lots of hairspray.
Hi Blaze -- guess we were both on the sequestered jury -- unfortunately a couple of letters are in the wrong place!!
EB back combing was an art form of itself... and we sometimes used baby food cans for curlers.... LOL
Nan... I keep trying stressed.... and it still will only give my oops
omg, i looked at the chat here, looked at the results from yesterday & scores --- you all really take this very seriously!!! lol are you all, ahem, addicts?
My name is blaze and I am a babbler......Pro
i admit i have a problem. I am addicted to Babble. is there a support group somewhere???
Beginning to regret starting this -- been at it over 1/2 hour and still only 1/3 of the way through.
*looks around guiltily....* me? a Babble addict....NO WAY!!! (but I hear Dr_God [Babble creator] is developing a 12 step program...)
LOL blaze and helen....
doxy -- we are the support group!!!! ;D
rofl - you guys are cracking me up
hello all...what is today's theme? And also, why did I start this puzzle...now I'll have to finish! :)

kristin - Hair Do's & Don'ts.....
oooh...hats, sounds good. I might have to break away to find a goodie!
oh, hairs dos and don'ts...even better and so creative!
hats was yesterday's grid.
helen -- Babble is one of the good addictions out there -- we are like minded people who genuinely enjoy each others company as we have a confirmed common interest -- but we can (usually) break away long enough to deal with our non cyber lives without suffering too many withdrawal symptoms ;)
OOpssie doodle .... it is still the 18th here in western canada
technically, you were both right because it is still "today" for me (PST) but we're on "tomorrow's" puzzle
it is still yesterday for me too, for another 10 minutes or so.
it's today for me....
Good Morning.....My name is Tim and Im a Babbler...: )
helen -- the other advantage of going pro is the ability to fill in your profile info so you get a flag and a 'purse' next to your name as well as the ability to post an icon --- if you click on the purse, you can read other peoples profiles to find out more about them :)
hey tim!!!
Hope everyone had a great week...busy for me. GW-how is the new job treating you?
Hi Tim.... I've been inspired by everyone.... my name is EB and I'm a Babble addict.....

How very Cowsills of you Ren. ; )
What has this chat come to!!!???
oooo.... chic!!! you may cause "permanent" damage with those kinds of jokes.....
It has to come to a head ...... of hair.
Ah-- EB -- it just takes some 'conditioning' to avoid the damge! ;D
Is it too early to get the stats?
yes corp - i'm the doo wop girl for eb and mama bear
Keep trying to find the 10 and 11, but no luck so far.
Damage is already permanent, I'm thinking!

I did -- didn't find anything.

getting fussy, tbear -- can't tell if its gas, diaper, or food issues -- think it's diaper though -- otherwise he is doing great!
I love the fact the d4/5 going on to plural 6/21 and past tense 6/24 is a valid word.....unless it means something else...my daughter uses it if someone offends her
There are 40 L's in the grid. I have all but 13 of them: LI: 4/5 4/4 5/10 6/18 5 /10 6/18 LO: 4/5 5/12 4/5 5/1 2 6/18 8/45 7/28 4/4 6/21 6/18 7/28 4/4 6/18 7/28 6/24 5/12 4/4 5/10 6/18 Any suggestions for others?

tbear, not to worry about the icon. great minds, and all that... Mac, I don't see the li6 and 7 you have.
335??? wahhh!
There there Atalante.......it's ok,you only have to find 10 at a time....33 and a half times.....LOL
Here's the def: A Roman functionary who carried fasces when attending a magistrate in public appearances. the 7 is the plural
to start or not to start ... that never-ending question ...!
Angel Do you need a better clue than that one?
atalante, it's not bad. Jump in!
nope, Mac...got them both. I was right on top of them; just didn't go far enough...
ok! I'll blame you in 10 hours time, Angelsong!
Okay, good :)
Atalante....start with clues at 1.32 from Renfield for the 10 and 11 word and you'll feel so good you'll fly....
tbear...got a clue for the lo5/10 you mentioned? The lo5/10 I have is for tales.
Angel...in that case take these three lo5/10's My brother always lo5/10 his gloves because they are lo5/10......he is such a lo5/10!
and lo5/10 of the manor....
Whoops that was 5/12 not 5/10
super! now I need just 8 more L's.

yep, tbear, found those as well. only need 6 L's now.
Angel Do you have the lo6 that means, to stand idly about; linger aimlessly? Then plural for the 7
Sorry kinda posted a word then.......I'll call him a lil minx instead
macuser and 8/45 for the past tense
yes, Mac. there are signs warning against those in my city
Angel, do you have lo6/21--plural train, extra vowel?
Thanks, tbear - I'd missed that :)
Summer thx i didn't have that funny word.......why can't i have Oreos...they are American choccie biscuits aren't they? Mmmmmmmmmchoccie biscuits....does Homer Simpson donut sound

Here is the list of L's I currently do have; there are six missing: LI: 4/5 6/21 7/32 4/ 4 5/10 6/18 5/10 6/18 LO: 4/5 6/21 5/12 4/5 5/12 6/18 8/45 7/28 4/4 5/10 6/21 6/18 6/18 7 /28 4/4 6/18 7/28 4/5 6/24 5/1 2 4/4 5/10 4/4 5/10 6/18 5/10
I see the oo6 & 7 are back again.
I love this! You find one word and that gives you three or four more!
Know what youmean! It's the 1st time I've ever got 142 words without pausing for breath.
yes, spellit! I like it too. still need to find six L's but that's a lot better than needing 30.
spellit - apply yr theory to the q's, find 2 root words and you will find all 8.
there is an IN with the qu also.
thanks, was wondering if qu was used anywhere else.
Yes HoHum I got the q's straight away
Would anyone like the full list of Os? It's the only letter I've completed!
yes, please for the o's
oc6 21 oc7 32 od4 5 od4 5 od6 24 od5 12 oe7 32 oe8 45 ol4 4 ol5 10 oo6 18 oo7 28 or4 5 or5 12 or4 4 os4 4 ot4 5 ot6 18
thanks, boysaway...I posted a nearly complete list of L's also, at 3.01
Angel - Do you have lo7/28: Abnormal curvature of spine...... lo5/10: Plant (variant spelling)
thank you for the O list.....
summer, I don't think so! can you give other clues for those? the Lo7 I tried didn't fit.
angel - you're also missing another lo4/5 at the beginning of the list.
Angel - The flower is a water lily. Once you find it, make it plural using 2 letters
summer, what about the abnormal curvature?
Angel - The plural is the curvature. :)
I'm drawing a blank on the lo's :(
Angel - Hope this helps....The flower is also known as a sitting position in Yoga
angel.... it looks like a bizarre way of pluralizing the big money game l*t*....
Hi All - just finished the Ns - do you want the list?
((diane)) please
got them now. I also found the first lo4 and an lo4 just before these two strange ones
Ne 4/5 5/12 5/10 6/18 4/4 6/ 18 4/4 6/21 6/18 7/28 N i 4/5 5/14 5/12 4/4
angel strange ones?? they are all strange....LOL
I know, Blaze, but that lo5 and 7 were stranger than normal.
that is true... although I have seen them before....
YIPES!!
yep you bet..... however there are root words that you can some times get 4 - 5 words from it.... by adding endings
G'day, every1.. It's a humungous grid . ( tee-hee,hee,hee,he) Angelsong and tbear, that's great you guys chose the same icon. I can see why too. Very cute! 8)
YIPES is right!
Yipes..yippee
The latest list of L's; missing only one: LI: 4/5 6/21 7/32 4/4 5/ 10 6/18 5/10 6/18 LO: 4/5 4/5 6/21 5/12 4/5 5/12 6/18 8/45 7/28 4/4 5/10 6/21 6/18 6/18 7 /28 4/4 6/18 7/28 4/5 6/24 5/1 2 4/4 5/10 4/4 5/10 6/18 5/10 4/4 5/12 5/10 7/28 which one is missing?
in addition to the 8 qu's, the qu appears in at least two other words.
Angel - have you got your hats to5/16 and plural?
Angel - OMG! Just realised I gave you wrong info..the one your missing is lo8/45. This is the one w/abnormal spine curvature. It starts lo--(and master) and ends with do5/12 (medicine amount). Sorry for confusion.
Summer, I love you! that was the LAST L I needed!!! all 40 are found.
LOL :)

Boysaway - Found another one! De 8/50
boysaway, please, can you give some clues for the 8's you have, specifically: co8, do8, in8's, RE8, SE8?
Wheee...that was fun! 189 without stopping or thinking. Like going sledding without getting cold or running into trees. Now the hard part.
co8 is a form of the co7 above it, meaning to biuld together
do8 also builds on a root word, meaning medic
in8 - two of them come from one word - she in8 on singing even though she sounded like a cat
in8 - he got the full story from an in8 at the Palace
re8 - she re8 anything except chocolate
se8 builds from a word mean part, ie part of a company
SweetTooth, do you have a clue for the de8?
whoa.....less than 100 words to go!
De 8/50 is related to the De 6/21- dry arid land
Cheers, got it
that de 8 is an odd one too
Hi everyone. I've been searching the meteorite pages and have seen a lot of beautiful rocks, but no 10 letter s word. Any other clues for those of us not space rock hounds?
Eva, start with your si4/5 and end with your li4/4, and add two letters in between - Michael **w the boat ashore.
eva - see renfield's clue at 1:32
40 words left to find - WAKE UP BRANDYJACK, I can't do it without you!
si10: si4/5 +consonant+vOwel+li4/4. si11 is the plural
can I name my next cat after you boysaway? Since I don't have a firstborn to name that's the highest compliment I can give. Thanks!
LOL Boysaway! I have 18 more to go but I'm throwing in the towel. Bye everyone.
Good Morning, does anyone have the 10 or 11 yet. If so, May I have clues please
peri-look just a few clues ago.
peri, good morning. clues at 6.06 and 6.09 for the 10 and 11...
I have to take care of the stoves before the house gets too cold-back away from the keyboard Eva-that's it-you can do it, peel those fingers off the keys.....easy....keep breathing....now put the mouse down...
Eva, LOL!
FYI, It is my Birthday today.
Oh, Happy Birthday Peri!
Happy birthday, Peri!
Thanks Boysaway. Since there are no stats, I am not sure if I have the correct si4 to start the really long words with.
thanks Angelsong, lots of really nice people born in Feb. :)
peri, in a debate, participants must choose a si4...
si4, the team that is fielded, or your flank.
thanks, found them!!
has there been a clue for the ec8
ec 6/21 - ec plus vowel plus shortened version of female sibling. Pluralise for the ec8
Boysaway, have you a clue for the IN5/10 before the 7/40?
in5 - not moving
thanks, Haz
You're welcome. Happy birthday by the way.
any clues for the lo8's
Thanks, Haz, It is only 7:30 am here but I will accept champagne and cake if anyone is willing to offer some 8)
Lo8 past tense, hanging around aimlessly
lo 8/45 is the past tense of lo 6 - to hang around lo8/45 is a combinarion of noble gentleman and ration of medicine.
Or even combination and rations
thanks to all who were so patient with me as I tried to tame those L's...!
thanks, Haz, got both of the lo8's
Peri, is it impolite to enquire how old one is today?
Must go and get showered and dressed. The sight of me in my dressing gown would be enough to put the lunch guests off their food!
Happy birthday periwinkle :)
OK Boysaway, stats posted......
boysaway, yes it is quite impolite to ask, and anyway I always lie about my age, suffice it to say that I am 39 again 8)
Oh, my hero BJ!
may the bluebird of happiness fly straight to you BJ :)
thanks ever so much, brandyjack. Don't know what I would do without you or your list
Thanks, Chessy for the birthday greetings
Boysaway, hope I didn't come across too harsh
No. Peri. it's cool
morning babblers
Hi there, hurshy. ...and happy birthday peri ^_^
thanks gramma bor the BD greetings
meant: for the BD greetings. it is also my Cat's birthday but she is much younger than me ;)
hint fot the lo8/40 please
Greetings everybody!!!!! And extra-special birthday greetings to Peri...... And Peri, you're right, a lot of nice people were born in February, including myself AND George Washington (who I share my birthday with by the way, and who's visage I'll be choosing for President's Day)........
Thanks movieman!
oh, happy birthday, peri! gramma - guess you went for the "don't" aspect today
Happy birthday, Peri!
thanks une and hurshy!!
have most of the 8 letter words, need help with the co8 and the lo8/40
hurshy, he's sooo dreamy! ( if you're into nightmares!)
There are alot of bad comb overs out there; but, he really should know better.
i know, he should. i went for the "do's". meg ryan in sleepless in seattle. her hair looks great every minute of that movie.
She's just darn cute no matter what.
I decided to go with Marge, who's hair could be a "do" or a "don't", depending on your point of view.....
I also found this 1..which do you prefer?
and Phil Spector, a classic don't!!
movieman, that's not Marge on my screen???
wow, gramma, that is pretty bad. but trump needs to be sent a message.
Gramma, try refreshing.....
movieman, you're right! my bad.
Good afternoon, all :)
hello, sprite
hello sprite, welcome to a long puzzle :)
Hi, sprite......
Biggish today...
Hi sprite. ..more like humungous!
yes. you are another one who likes to find a lot without the list, aren't you sprite?
Has anyone out there managed to find the 10 & the 11 yet, and if so could they clue me up plz........
*hurshy plugs her ears, doesn't want to hear any clues yet*
movieman - good clue at 6.06 from boysaway ...
I have found almost half of the words without looking at BJ's list.
I'm at 190 words without the list, I've been through the log though.
i am at 200
I am at 38.
Lots of great clues in the log.
well yes but you just got here, sprite. the question is, how many will you try to get before getting the list?
Never use the list. Just the log and the stats panel. And in case of real trouble A2Z, but I'd rather not.
ah, see, sprite is the babbler of babblers.
It's just that the list gives so very much away. When I know the first two letters and I know the place on the list, I can almost spell it out, right? I like a little more challenge, that's all.
well, sprite, not all of us are as brilliant as you are. I try to get as many words as I can myself, and with help from the clues. But I also use BJ's list and a-z and onelook reverse dictionary.
but sprite, don't you ever have a day where you didn't get much sleep, and you have a lot to do, and you just want to get the words in any old way you can?
and quite often I don't get all of the words and that is okay, since it is only a game.
on a good day, i think i can do it your way, sprite. yesterday i only used the list for the last 23 (and found that i should have gotten at least 10 of those)
It's not in any way meant as judgemental, I just don't like to use the list myself. I think everybody must play as gives him or her the most pleasure.
only a game?!?! :)
When I get really, really stuck, I use A2Z and that helps. And of course the clues and hints in the log are great helps too.
Greetings, all! How goes it today?
we know it's not judgmental, sprite - it's just rather in the nature of throwing down the gauntlet to some of us :)
lol hurshy :)
lol hurshy! And I don't think I am brilliant either. Just someone who doesn't know when to stop. Somewhere far down our bloodline there must have been a pitbull or two, I guess.
Hi Jera! Having fun so far, but I just got started.
well, speak for yourself, sprite. *i* am brilliant.
You are, hurshy, I am not. That's what I said :)
missing two of the 8 letter words, co8/50 and lo8/40 help please
Good Morning Everyone --- waiting for Kristianna to awaken so I thought I would check in to see who was here :)
My personal opinion: you play to have fun... if it's not fun, what's the point? For some people, not finishing is not fun. Some people couldn't care less about their ranking & mostly chat. I like the challenge, but don't take it too far (I can get obssessive & that isn't fun)... I don't look at lists or chat until halfway, unless it's really really hard. Then I copy & paste BJ's list & fill in what I have... this reminds me of plurals & helps me think of other words. I'm usually about 75% done before I start really looking for clues, either from fellow players or a2z. But that's just me.
ok i was just kidding btw
Hi, GreyWoulf!!!
Hi GreyWoulf, how's the family?
Hi, Wolfie......
((**sprite**)) -- I missed you at the flip --- I was in rare form again (I think having Seb on my lap helps) and one of my first thoughts was that you would like this grid ;)
Oh wah, citroen isn't a word...
Hi peri, hurshy, movieman, Chessy, Jera and anyone else I may have missed --- if I have you are still loved just unobserved ;D (*Hugs for all*)
{{{GreyWoulf}}} Can't believe my luck you being here this time of day!
hi gw. citroen proper, right?
Hi Woulf!! *big, big hug for Woulf and Seb* Great to see you, missed you. Yes, it is a great grid so far :) How are you doing?
Yeah, hurshey... still one of my favorite words...
Is the new WolfCub doing well, GW? Staying snug & warm during the cold front?
Family is doing pretty good, Chessy, though Sebastian and Mom just went off to the ER because Seb was wheezing earlier this AM --- nothing to be upset over, just being careful since he is only 3+ weeks old and his sister just got over a cold
Hope Seb will be well very soon. "Citroen" is so a word. But Dutch. For lemon.
So suffice to say that while I am concerned, Mom is a bundle of nerves
Gwyd was born end of September & I think he caught a cold on the way out... very pitiful, a coughing newborn...
good wishes to you all Greywoulf (*hug*)
Gwyd? What a beautiful name!
sprite -- your comment about Citroen reminds me of a story from the Cyberiad by Stanislaw Lem --- in the story one of the main characters creates a machine that can create anything that starts with the letter N
Sprite... funny the non-english words they deem valid here... I for one can find no rhyme or reason...
335? too big. See you tomorrow, unless my ski trip doesn't happen!
Gotta go, lunchtime calls...... But I'll be back before you know it......
taking a break, may be back later
However, when the inventor asks for some 'natrium' because it is the latin name for salt, the machine points out that in some language somewhere, every thing starts with N (statistically speaking)
Must be a fun story! Though I am afraid "citroe - N" would be taking it a little too far. Jera: you are so right! I always try everything I see, just to be sure ;)
Therefore, it would then be a machine that could create Anything, not a machine that only created things that started with N -- which was not what he invented :D
Here here Harp!!!! Can`t find time for this today :( ((GW)) Hope everything is good with Sebastian xxx Have a great babble day everyone. See you all soon :)
That's my little man, Sprite... Gwydion Domhnaill. He's currently succumbed to the coughing stage of the flu that has run roughshod through my family... snuggled up on the couch watching Madagascar for the 87th time...
LOL... guess that machine is right! That's just like saying it is always happy hour at some place on earth at every time.
lotti!!! I had hair JUST LIKE THAT in high school... I adored Cyndi Lauper!!
Of course it was a machine that could create N-ything. Figures. Jera, I think it is a wonderful name. Hope all will be well and coughfree soon.
I do highly recommend the author, he was a Polish (I think) scientist who enjoyed exploring the absurd -- I find that usually yields the best Science Fiction
I agree, Woulf.
taking a break for a while, have fun all
Jera and everyone else -- thank you for your we4ll wishes -- needless to say I will make sure that I let everyone know what the outcome is -- if I have to I will add to the thread on Bab Anon :)
Getting back to the grid, sprite -- I have managed to find 219 so far without assistance from anywhere except the log -- a personal best :D I do admit that you inspire me a little --- but I freely acknowledge that my method of enjoyment differs from yours-- that is what makes this world such a fascinating and Wonderful place!
Though it is annoying when I look at the stat board and I find that I only have one to go to grey out about 6 squares and I can't see another word for love nor money! ;D
That's when i can get obsessive, GW...
that's when my monkeys earn their money ...
that is when I usually will break down and look at the 2nd letter list --- I do like my grey after all!!! ;)
I love to be inspiring, even if it's a little bit ;) And I agree totally, we all should have fun here as suits us. Like all good things in life, there is not one true way, but as many ways as there are people doing them. :)
And congrats on that personal best, Woulf! It IS great. :D MrP would give you fireworks for sure.
That is also the point when I really wish I could twist the grid to view it from a different angle
Or rescramble the letters, lol.
Well, I'm really shivering so I'm off for a nice hot bubble bath... back later, hopefully it will warm up some more... bye all!
Enjoy Jera -- I don't have the space to enjoy a bath (tub is too small) so take some extra time for me! :)
I think its list time for me. I've got to the point where the only words I can see are tense and sense!
I'm just putting the kettle on - anyone for a cuppa?
I'd love a cuppa and then I think I'll join Jera in the tub :)
Sounds good, Chessy -- I didn't get much sleep last night :)
Will do, GW {{{HUGS}}} for all... *poof*
O6/21: a nice example of how it is worth trying anything even remotely likely to be a word... with double OO in the 2nd half it is a dutch word.
Well, I'm back.....
wb movieman
you didn't lie, movieman -- that was quick! Welcome back!! :)
I've been working on the CO's, and I'm tangled up in them. here are clues/definitions for the ones I have; still need 3. Can anyone help sort this out? co4/6 zip co** co5/16 is required to play video on a computer and the plural for the 6/27 co5/16 past tense of co4/6 co5/14 one who encrypts and plural for 6/24 co5/14 plural of the first co4/6 co4/6 fishes (noun, not a verb) co7/36 and 8/50 bulds together, and plural co4/5 c + a lubricant co4/5 blue is a co** color co4/5 mother speaks to a baby this way co6/30 a french flirt co4/6 a pile of wood is measured by this and past tense for co6/27 co5/12 the centers of apples co/12 archaic term for a dead body and plural for the 6/21 co6/21 a woman's undergarment co5/12 place dishes on a table, together co5/12 variant spelling for snug and comfortable co4/5 and 5/12 A small shed or shelter for sheep or birds.
co5/12 the centers of apples Do you have the singular and the past tense of this
[Hurtling in to say hi and give quick hugs] This grid looks lethal.
(*zubie*) -- actually it is pretty fun -- come on in!!!
Hi Zubie. It is fun!
tigereye...yes, I do have the singular and past tense of the centers of apples
Hi Sprite, GW. Yes, I shall attempt the grid but not much time. I'll have to leave at any moment. :)
Angelsong you're missing a 5/14 before placing dishes, a 6/21 then a 5/12 after the last pair of 5/12's
Angel -- do you have the plural stacks of wood?
You're more than welcome, even for a minute or two :)
yes, GW, plural for stack of wood is here.
angel...you have the centres of apples..but do you have the derivations...?..single and past tense> ?
(((sprite)))Thanks.
co5/12 place dishes on a table, together. pluralise this
Change the first Co5/16 so it has a curly consonant in the middle
I ofund the co 5/14, tigereye, and I found the co6; still need the 5/12, I think
I don't want to play with the 're' words any more - they're no fun :(
I think the one you want comes after that 5/14 you jsut found
change the last letter of co5/12 place dishes on a table, together, to the letter which immediately precedes it
We can always think of so many more Re-words than enable can.
C's are done!
WTG Angel!
morning all my oh my 335 words you have to be kidding me, I will get nothing and I mean nothing done today, lol
Sheryl... of course you will! You'll get done finding an immense amount of words today!
I'm off to slay the R's...wish me luck..
Watch out, Rs... here comes Angel... nowhere left to hide!
sprite, lol
hiding the chat; makes it easier to concentrate. back in a bit.
Gotta go -- time to start Kristianna's day :) (*Hugs to all*)
Have a great day, Woulf. *big hug for you and yours* It was a true pleasure to find you here.
same at you, sprite! :)
good morning and goodbye for now, GW!
Une! Well, that's a long time ago. Good to see you :)
what?
What what?
has anyone found si/11?
I'm back... clean & shiny & ready for action!
Just missed Woulfie, rats!
wb, Jera :)
Hey, the chat's slow today... my previous posting is still on my screen!
Its the plural of the Si10 Si10 =Si4/5 + consonant + vowel + li4/4
Probably because there are so many words waiting to be found, Jera... no time to chat ;)
I'm out of here. Have to leave. :( Hugs everyone.
thank you. i guess i'm a long way from that one. i just started.
Bye zubie! Thanks Tigereye.
got all of the re's. Anyone need clues for 'em?
G'day everyone... I'm 2 words shy of completing the Ts... any clues for to5/16 & to6/27 ? I have monkey-typed myself into a stupor... any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Macuser: hat(s) french words.
lalobstah si10/11 A meteorite composed of a mixed mass of iron and stone, si11 plural of si10/11
Thanks Sprite... now if I only knew French, heh. The only french word I know for hat starts with a 'c'
You know the start of the words, and you need to use the rarest letter in the grid. :)
It's foot digit with a high scoring double letter in between.
Got 'em! :) Thank you so much for the clues! Learned a new word today :)
Should give you 2 Rs as well ;)
And so it does, sprite :) Thank you!
Mac, Sprite & Haz ... thanks ... just got to the 'sticking' point, and those helped a bundle :)
And if you are there, you could also look for another Ro6/27, change last letter of the one you have... and then look for a C that is similar.
Hey Trish :)
Hey Mac :)
JoyLee Thank you. I just saw your clue.
phew...c's done...
WTG rolin. Some tough ones, right? I still need a few, working on them.
yeah sprite... me and a2z finder
Though I usually find that I have overlooked the obvious ones, falsely trying to convince myself that it is toughies I am looking for, lol.
Well, I'm off for another warm-up break... very cold here today! Later, all! *poof*
anyone with a clue for the de7/32?
doesnt matter i found it..:)
For those asking before: I opened the stats panel at 225 words, and now I am down to 9 and I really need A2Z to finish today. Stuck, hit a wall, nowhere to go, etc. ;)
Have some after your main course.
rolin - it's the last course of a meal.
rolin, a pudding - what you have after the main course ...
thx all..:)
well, i hadn't the heart to do so many without the list today after all. and now i'm needing clues too. ce7?
Eat too many of them and you will need a co6/21
lol..i know where ya coming from haze
haz - was that still on the de, or was that a clue for me?
Still on the de
thought so, as it seemed applicable
hurshy: Pertaining to, or derived from, beeswax or Chinese wax;rhymes with one of my favorite E-words, E6/21.
so the 6 that follows is unrelated, eh?
I am gone for a while, back later for those few last b@st@rds.
Totally unrelated, just shares first 3 letters.
i cant believe this...but i need a clue for the di4/5 next to the noisy one
di4/5 - to speak badly about someone.
i got it monkey typing..
its not a real word chris...ggrr
street language to show disrespect ...
yikes that's a lot of co's
Hi folks. I'm just quietly typing words in from my written list of the first sweep of the grid. Not looked at the log or the stats yet. I'm wondering if I can get at least three-quarters of the words on my own. Icon pic is my daughter when she was a lot younger.:-)
i am amused by this di 6/7 combo - what is it, a place where you go to eat your cheerios?
hurshy...di6/7??
not as in 6 letters 7 points, but as in a 6 and 7 letter word that go together
there is life after the R's. I've found all of them!
haven't you seen people do that before?
usually if the numbers are followed by the word "combo" then you know it's not one word being discussed but a pair
ah ok.. nah..i hadnt seen that before
ec help, please?
*hurshy is afraid nobody likes her anymore*
hurshy ec + second vowel + opposite of brother, shortened
then plural for the 8
ec6 means "The successful establishment of a plant or animal species in a habitat", then pluralise for ec8
oh, macuser still loves me! thank you thank you
ec-top right down thru & not your brother
lol, yw, hurshy :)
thanks to chessy and lbetterman for the love also (even though i already got the word) :)
ok, how about ne 5/10?
hurshy ne5/10... ne + rock & ****, minus the last letter
oh, drat, oc words. unless it's ocean, ocelot, octave, or octogon, i'm hopeless at those.
Any clues for the in7/40? Can't find it for the life of me.
thank you again macuser
an investigation into a death, Mac :)
hurshy, abbrev. for autumn month, then French for king ...
in 7/40 after they find a dead body in england, they have an in7
mac The Spanish In************.
and THOSE are some weird oc's for sure, thanks chessy!
Crud - posted too soon. The Spanish In******** was an IN7/40
but musicmom, nobody expects the Spanish inq.......
um, i don't think that's exactly true, musicmom
Of course! How did I miss that? Thank you so much! :)
Sorry:-(
Urgh, done. Anyone want anything?
A new grid?
48 hours?
LOL Chessy! ...afternoon all :D
yes, tigereye. i'd gotten used to oestrin, but that's not the oe today. help?
sorry musicmum, no can do
Congrats tigereye!
eternal youth?
Brad Pitt?
Hey all... me again (can't keep me away)! Hey, musicmom, how are you today?
and while you're at it, i'm similarly stuck with the oo not being oocyte
BTW Congrats Tigereye
oo +li4
Oe7 O + Er4/4 + past tense, 8 is plural
I'm starting to feel better. Head is still a little congested but now as bad. I have a Harry Potter meeting in a bit. Trying to get as many words as possible before i have to leave.
Good morning everyone -- there's nothing like signing on and picking up 4 words from clues posted on the last page of the log! -- Thanks, everyone!
Oo6 oo + li4/4, 7 is plural
thanks musicmom and tigereye
Just redeeming myself for that bad in clue.
aaargh, i am horrible at O's - what about the ot6, and then i'm done with them.
hi Jera :D ...and hi nan :D
Sorry Hurshy. Don't have that one.
Hurshy.. ot + 3rd vowel + facial feature, minus first letter.
Ot 6 First three letters of the Ot4 plus a hoop a curly letter and another vowel
now i do:-)
ahh...relief. thank you.
Okay. I'm out for a while. Only 195 words left and I haven't used bj's list yet. I have been gleaning clues from the log. Going to finish lunch and go to my meeting. Probably be back later. Have a great day everyone.
later musicmom :D
what is the "log" that u r getting clues from
this, sandy - the chat log
thanks im soo dopey
man oh man, been at this for hours and I am down to 146 left, slow going
you're not dopey
oooh ty
however, there are clues on babblers anonymous, have you found that sandyloo?
babblers anonymous....this is only second game ....do i need to join that yet! lol
nope, not at all... if you click on the "babblers anonymous" link to the right, then click stats, then click general, you will get a first and second letter breakdown for all the words today
Sorry, I came in, greeted, then jumped into the grid without waiting for response... A Harry Potter meeting, musicmom??
ooh, nice hair LeslieAnn :D
whoops i lied - first click general, then stats
thanks sherb. i was actually remembering my days with a quasi-rachel with your pic!
somebody give me the 5th letter (just the 5th letter, mind you, not a clue for the whole word) of the 10?
I was at the hairdresser yesterday, contemplating parting with my long hair... takes too long to style in the morning... I know I'm gettin old....
how long is your hair, sherb?
sherb i did that a couple months ago... so long what i cut off could go to locks of love (10 inches) and am soo much happier with the shorter hair
ok thaks for that i will explore those links never even noticed them but i have 180 words ot go so i feel im going quite well lol
i did locks of love once too! that's why i asked.
wow that is great, sandyloo!
about six inches past my shoulder... but it took me two years to get it this long after years with a shorter style...
The Sprite & I did that a couple of years ago... I just did it again last May (my hair grows fast).
It's a charity close to my heart as I remember being a little kid in an itchy wig!
5th letter e
sorry r
jera if you don't mind me asking why did you have to wear a wig?
thanks better maybe that will help me find it
the first do4/5 is making me dizzy...help, please?
I have hydrocephalus & they had to shave my head to install a shunt. It was horrible since my hair had never been cut before that!
do 4/5 - nike slogan - just do4/5
oh my goodness jera, sounds pretty traumatic (i mean the treatment, as well as the hair)
hurshy did you find 10 letter word
yeah, but i had to use morewords after all
Better than the excruciating headaches that made me pass out... not fun!
st7?
hope u r ok now jera i f that is you in the pic u look fabulous
need qu8 pls
nvm, plural fish. and qu8 is a plural also
plural of qu7 - people who are searching
LOL, no that's Pippi Longstocking for crazy hair day today... I am good, had another shunt when I was 13 (they only had to shave half my head then) & now still going strong nearly a quarter of a century later (yay, Walter Reed!).
lol its so funny ...i havent heard of crazy hair day ...guess its a yankee thing ..but im glad u r gooing well
first te 6/18?
no sandy, it's not a yankee thing, it's a babble thing. we have themes for each day with the icons. today's is hair do's and don'ts. the list of icon themes is in babbler's profile - but i think it's posted on bab anon too?
hurshy te + re4/4
Actually it's a Babble thing, sandyloo... there are themes than many of us participate in for the fun of changing our icons daily... the list is on Babbler's profile (the player).
im beginning to see that there is a lot more to this than meets the eye it all sounds fun this site seems to be full of nice people
thanks macuser (again)
yw, hurshy
Tomorrow is Presidents' Day in US, so we are doing favorite President (or PM/leader for non-US). Next day is Gorgeous Children (yours or anyone elses')

Angel - please don't tell me it's that bad. I'm ready to give it my best shot today.
*shakes head to spread faerie dust in hair...*
Angel - that is the most pityful looking kitten I believe I've ever seen. But so adorable.
it's not too bad, faerie... no, actually, it's hard... but we need as much brain power on this one as we can get, so jump in... :D

not getting cose to the si10 & 11 combo. could use a little help?
start with a 4 letter word meaning edge si**
lshult - sounds like an alcoholic apple drink, plus a vowel, plus the word you use for the diet version of something
wow faerie (about the tree) - sorry i went to quiddle and didn't respond sooner
already figured that, but that's as far as I got!!
Okay, thank aguys, got 'em, but what do they mean?
si10 = si4 + beginning of fancy brand of watch + li4
oops i'm too late
Hurshy - oh yeah - the tree - what a mess. It is laying over my back fence. Plus there is a 60' pine tree that one whole side every branch is stripped off and also in my yard. It is 16 outside right now so I'm doing clean up until I get a little warmer day.
OK it means an iron & stone meteorite
going for a nap...back later...
How bout the si8/40, clue please?
Sherb - later :)
Omigosh! Just logged on and saw the word total--and that's with even a blackout on the grid! Yikes! My brain is in shock! Will be perusing the log later when I have more time to hunt for clues! Leave good ones, y'all! Pleeeez! 'Til then ...
Got the si8/40 - wicked or dishonorable
Woohoo! Done!
Me too! :) Congrats, macuser.
wtg, micmac :)
ty sprite, congrats to you, too :)
Thanks Trish :) I got an early start last night at the flip

Trish *sprinkle*sprinkle*sprinkle* just a litte faerie dust to help you find the last of your words :)
ty for the encouragment Mac :) Faeriekae, two more words rode in on your dust ;)
Hi All: Usually I go with the theme but today is a very special day for race fans, so I had to deviate!!! Will enjoy doing babble during the race:)
hey speedfreak - who's your driver? I'm all about Jr. Go Baby, make your Daddy happy.
Michael Waltrip has alway been my favorite...but I have also been a Tony Stewart fan for years
I must go now... I think hot chocolate is in order, then I have work to do. Good luck everyone! See you later, Trish :)
Oh yes, gotta love Michael. He has such a personality. You truly can't help but to love him. Do you ever go to any of the races?
We have gone to the New Hampshire Speedway for the last 6 years...would love to do more, that is my dream when boys are both out of house and college...extra cash on racing!!!
I've never been to the New Hampshire track but I've been to Daytona, Michigan, Brickyard, Bristol. Bristol was by far the best track. But I love the short tracks. Would like to see Talladaga though.
Am I jealous!!!
LOL - I don't know are you? I don't have children so that makes a really big difference. I am able to come and go pretty freely.
lol sorry speed - just had to say that *giggle* :)
Phone call be right back.
Finished ... yay! I'm getting out of here before this grid decides to spawn *more* words... clues before I go?
Congrats trish *%*%*%*fireworks*%*%*%* how about the oc words please.
Oh my, I feel waaaaaay behind today! I've been busy tending to a cut spaniel paw, and have only just really got to the grid!
ty faerie :) oc6/21 + plural abbrev. fall month + french word for king (can't remember whose clue that was, but it worked for me, so thank you!)
Atlante: must be a bad day for dogs' paws, we burned yesterday and my rottweiller decided to try walking through the pile OUCH!!! Got him in the snowbank fast then babied him all night, thank god not too bad!!!!
TY trish -:)
Poor puppy paw......
dogs! we took Hobbit down to the beach and when we got her home we noticed a nice trail of blood coming from one paw - so goodness knows what she cut it on - will have to keep a careful eye on it, I think
*scritches the spaniel's ears* poor pooch!
she's now using her sad spaniel eyes to get as many treats out of us as possible!
My dog has learned that after he comes in from outside he gets a treat so now-----he will go out and turn around and come right back in and stand at the treat cabinet like ok, I went out - now give me another one. lol
I'm missing a to4 at the begininig of the to's. I have the man's name, pedal digits, labor...any help is welcome...and thanks
My dogs do the same thing at the treat cabinet..but it is fun spoiling them!!
It's amazing how animals can make use act so silly. I love my dog like he is my child. So I know a hurt paw is pretty pityful. And the sad eyes always melt your heart.
so do I faeriekae!
Angel-I wish I could help but I'm don't have that one.
what sort of dog do you have, faeriekae?
Angel, do you have the word that could be a spade, or drill ?
Ata-I have a shih-tzu. 15lbs. Damn that telephone. Be right back
Angel - do you have the to4 which is an implement?
awwww shih-tzus are the cutest things!
trish, I'm not sure about a spade or drill
what goes in a to**shed, Angel
work up the grid, with the double vowel... (or lo4/4 backwards)....
I'm back - My ex is dropping off my dog. We sorta have a shared custody thing going on. I have Max 95% of the time but the ex likes spending some time with his also, so I share. His girlfriend hates it.
LOL I bet she does!
She doesn't like the fact that he "sees" me. He and I can talk but not "see" each other. lol
oh yeah - him seeing you must be highly dangerous! what does she think is going to happen? he's going to take you in his strong arms and whisk you off somewhere??!!
missing one 8 letter word, the lo8/40, clues please
I have 2 lo 45's?
what theme is it today, by the way?
Hair dos and donts
do's and don'ts of hair!
to6/18, after Spanish bulls?
plural of to5/10
Ata - she has nothing to worry about. I don't want him back. He is drop dead georgous. Great body. Very, very smart and witty. Beautiful hair. but he is an alcohlic and he I don't want to be with anyone who would chose a beer over marriage.
oops, wrong one--add an e to the bulls
it is the si8/40 I am missing, there is no lo8/40
He's a drunk. Thats what I'm try to say.
now I have the worst dog hairdo in the world!
urf. no. you dont need that!!
si8: dark, evil, ominous

this is my mom's springer Derby . . . she lucked out when his owner developed allergies and couldn't keep him, so she's had him for a couple of years now--we looooove springers!
I took a pic of Hobbit cuddling up to me and sleeping this morning ... http://www.atalante.f2s.com/ho lly_sleep.jpg - she's so cute!

Must go get photo of Max. Be right back.
help with the si8/40 please
sorry, don't have it yet, peri
peri - si8 - not dexter, but si******
sherb, don't understand your clue
another word for 'left'... from the Latin
Moosie? awwwww! I just love spaniels. Especially working cockers and springers - they are so alike, working cockers are just a bit smaller. They are both UTTERLY adorable!
did you see my si clue at 12:40?
Une, nope but got it anyway
cool
need the last 8: SI8?
got the si8. thanks for the clue from 12.40, Une...
this is my precious Lady who got her angel wings in 2002
oh baby! what a gorgeous girl!
oh, atalante, that looks a lot like our cocker Chris (Christmas present!) that we had back around 1960!
omg I've just looked at BJ's list - it looks more scary than the actual grid!

With you Karys - finished at last
congrats angelsong. (sorry, was immersed in the grid.)
Could anyone be kind enough to assist me with the ec8/45..... Thanx in advance.......
Well Done spellit !! :D
angel, you can hit "print screen" button, then go to your word program on desktop. Hit control v, it should come up for you to print.
To copy the grid, highlight it before you log in so you don't get the chat log. Then paste into Word or whatever you have
Karys, ty the look again works for me! I still don't get the 6/21 before it.
ec8.....ends in si5/10
Here is my photo of Max. Not very good. Gotta go watch a little of the race now.
gramma think of a creepy crawly and change the first two letters
ec plus a vowel plus not your bro but your *** then plural
spellit, ty that did the trick. 8)
gramma....there's 2 re6/21.....re plus lump of earth plural and re where you live minus last vowel
I also got it Thanks for one last word.
TA Karys ^_^
have you got them all now gramma ?...the 'r's that is
I was able to print the grid from my browser, but I will also paste it into word. Thanks...Babble is now portable!!!

sha: pucker up and change the first letter for the last di 6
thanx doxy how obvious were they lol
evening sha
1 to go....co6/30...right before the measurement of wood....any clue???
I saved today's grid as an image to my desktop, then, when I opened it with Word, I got the second-letters list, instead of a graphic of the grid. Is this normal? If so, it's cool.
ou, think flirt
co6/30 is a flirt, with a french accent :)
when you want to copy it, don't save it. just hit the print screen or highlight and hit print.
I'm going to have an ice cold drink. I wish I could share; but, I'm too selfish 8D
evening ruthy
I'd settle for a hot chocolate. It's cold here. started snowing yesterday afternoon. Finally stopped around noon.

hahaha - yes i have texas big hair....i got it by birth!!!
chic - we still have a lot of guys that wear mullets as well
Ren, some can wear mullets. McGuyver looked good in one in the '80's!

to6/21 is a type of hat and plural of to5 before it. Foot digit(s) with high scoring double letter in between
thanks Haz, that word has been in puzzles before, just couldn't see it today
Can anyone help with the si 8/40?
There's an ro variation as well
chic, just looking over the log and I have to say, it's SO WEIRD reading "the Donald"'s words -- like "his" comment about Texas big hair :D !!! Just hilarious!
help with te7/32 and te7/28 x2 please
lol ch1212...we love the donald!!!!
si 8/40 is latin for left or a word meaning dark and nasty
found one of the te7/28
si8/40 - evil
One te 7/28 is used for those who try out things.
you on the other hand, renfield, look gorgeous. I tried the curly perm look when I had long hair in my youth, but on me I looked like a deranged poodle.
Thank you Thank you Thank you one and all.
Haz, just found that te7, help with the other te7/28 please
I don't have it yet, either! I'll look for it and let you know - you do the same for me.
Hi everyone!! Good hair day to all!!
hi monpazier!
will do , Haz
mon - now that's texas big hair!!!
anyone have the te7/32
Hi ch1212....your green lipstick is a nice understated look with your hair.
peri - plural the te6/21 above it
Yep peri......Farrah is the original Texas big hair!!
The first er 5/12?
Yes, ty mon :) I haven't googled yet to find out just what Reese Witherspoon could have been thinking when she did this. Hopefully for a movie!
Sorry peri.....I meant renfield.
mrpresident, I don't have that te6/21
The other te7/28 - people who take a te4/4 (plural of the 6)
Got em!
oe 7 and 8?
thanks, Haz, I knew you would find it before me
oe 7 32 - shortened version of overs then shortened version of cuddly bear. Then pluralise for the 8
Peri - I was on earlier and got the initial 220 or so done. I'm now back to see if I can get a few more, but can't help being tempted to help people with the ones I've got!
Thanks, Haz, really appreciate your help, today and always
I am almost up to 200. will probably stop then
You're welcome - I saw from a post earlier that we share the same philosophy - it's only a game!
Thanks, Haz -- any clue that you need?
I've just started looking at BJ's list so I'll be sure to sing out if I get stuck. I use a2z a lot as well!
the last tr5/10??? please.
Un deux ?
I only use a2z as a last resort -- more fun trying to figure out the clues.
Or, for non-French speakers, tr, vowel, form of 'to be'
se 6/18 (last one) -- have most dry
st7/28 anyone
Last tr5/10 - menage a tr**.
st 7/28 - sound doubled
Helloooo. Is this doable, this puzzle? Ren, you are beautiful!
sr 7/28: sound coming from both sides of the room
It's a giant, Mab, but doable.
sorry - that clue was for the st 7
thank you both, found both sing. and plural
se6/18 - Bristly.
okay, I give, a clue for the co 7/36 and co 8/50,please
co7 & 8 - to build together.
co 7 and 8 - build together
clues for the so7/28
nothing coming to mind, Jacula -- a different clue for the se 6/18, maybe?
a little more, Haz, please
up to 202 time for another break
Try se+ an anagram of the 10 things on the end of your feet.
286 words found here.
That did it Jacula -- thanks.
never mind, haz I got it...
Good - I had missed your post looking for more.
329 here -- but ooooh, those last 6! so 7/28?
so red*****
Sorry so+ valentines day flowers *****
Thank you, Norma
Really could do with different clues for co 7/8 Anyone?
lo 6/21?
co plus er 5/12 meaning straight or to build
co 7/8: co + the e word meaning to build
lo 6/21 - past tense of the 5 before it.
good afternnon
Thanks Haz, I couldn't see that!
lo6 21 let free
Thanks, Haz *blushing with shame"
You're welcome.
de 8/50, please (the co's are resting)

Woot! Finished!
de 8/50 + add "like" suffix to the de 6
de 8/50 - add two letters to the dry place to indicate a type.
de8 - no definition but, presumably it means' dry, arid place-like'!
55 : (
*~*~*~*FIREWORKS FOR ATALANTE*~*~*~*
thanks jacula
Three left: te 6/21 te 7/32 te 6/18 All in sequence following the number (te 4/4)

Well done Atalante!!!!!
Atalante: Way to go!!!! I am thinking of even using a2z today and I have not gone on that site for months!! Still need 110 UGH
se 6/18: se + anagram of foot digits
Chic - I only found that de8 by playing around and adding to a word for fun. You know Babble, the more unlikely it looks to be a word, the more likely it *is* to be a Babble word.
that is totally true!
you dont need a2z, speed - go for it!!!!
thx cnan
te 6/21? (first one)
cybernan - te 6/21 - te plus re4/5 then pluralise for the 7
The other te 6 - add 'with reference to' plus part of beveratge
Excellent clues, Haz -- thank you. Time to celebrate! -- anyone want a clue before I leave?

Hello. I'm back from skiing. 292 words to go. Oh well!
hi harp
I wonder if I could put a flower or something in the hole on the top *what do you think*
go for it!
Hi Harp - good skiing?
help please for any/all of these: the di 7/32 that follows someone who 'puts down', (in other words, NOT the di7/32 money one ... the re8/45, and the last st6/18. Please and thank-you! HARPJANE: where did you go skiing? Downhill or cross-country?
re8 - you don't give in to something
Hey Faerie are you still here? I saw you looked for me earlier - sorry I missed you. ]Hi everyone.
ch-don't look at me I'm so far behind I'll never finish this grid. Gots lots going on today/tonight. Just in and out.
re - past tense
cross country. On Chief Joseph Pass, the Continental Divide between Montana and Idaho.
reed
MM running tackle hug (((((x))))) - Hi.
I have no idea why that word is there. Please tell me it isn't in the grid.
Ah yes, harpjane -- haven't skied there but know of it. We have 5 ski resorts within 120 miles of where we live, and we both love downhill. Haven't been lately, though. THANK YOU FOR THE 8/45 clue doxylover! Got it!
(((faerie)))) right back at ya. I'm feeling quite a bit better today thanks.
have to go for now, dealing with a very fussy baby.
Bye doxie!
ch1212-just read your bio? Are you at Cottonwood?
MM-was worried about you. The flu has a way of kicking you butt if you let it. Glad to hear your feeling a little better.
Doxy - Bye :)
Greg was awesome yesterday about nursing me and keeping the kids out of my hair. The r*** did me so much good! Have a quiet day again tomorrow - plan on taking advantage of it.
No harjane, we're south central Idaho -- by Sun Valley, Pomerelle, Soldier Mountain, Magic Mountain... Cottonwood is where friends live though, at the convent near there.
MM-Greg sounds like a good Daddy and Husband. Your so lucky. Re** is the best thing you can do for youself.
He is the best daddy and husband. I couldn't ask for any better (that's not saying he's perfect but.....<G>)
Cottonwood is Benedictine, isn't it? I'm not really up on my monasteries.....
Hey Harp - love your hair! Glad you had a good day at skiing.
harpjane -- indeed it is. Monastery of the Ascension is the Benedictine men's monastery near Twin Falls, and Cottonwood is the convent. Beautiful land up north; more like Big Sky. (We went to Big Sky a few months ago to visit friends.)
could someone start me on the st's. I dont have any and I cant find any. brain is shutting down early this evening.
My beloved is still down in bed today and I need to go tend him :) Have 10 more words left to go...back later!
The first one is a horse you r*** in on.
Bye ch. take care
faerie, one is what you use to play music
can't figure out the de7/32 -- any help?? ty
Some you find on a cattle drive.
the last course of a meal--the sweet one
Sorry pbr that clue was for faerie.
but it worked for me -- ty
Hi. I'm back again. ch1212 - di7/32 (2nd one) sounds like your pudding. It means 'to discourse formally'. When at Uni., you have to write a di*****ation.
TY :D
de7/32 - pudding.
Hey jac - I think ch left but I needed that one - thanks.
Last st6/18 - Any of a group of predominantly unsaturated solid alcohols of the steroid group, such as cholest**** and ergost****, present in the fatty tissues of plants and animals.
MM - Hi. She'll read it later, if she returns.
Great! I do that too. Go back through the log when I come in. I don't read everything but look for clues.
MM - You don't know what you're missing, not reading it all! I sit here laughing sometimes at some of the brilliant exchanges on the log.
Yep I have done that. I particularly like to read what happens right after the flip.
Incidentally, my icon pic is my daughter when she was much younger with a skipping rope tied up in her hair.
There was a great conversation about valentine gifts a few days before - Loved it!
Very cute! I've been trying to resize a picture of my girls for Tuesday.
MM - Yes, today's flip was amusing when they all discovered there were over 300 words to find. I also smiled at the dire warnings to the newcomer and the protestations of not being 'addicted'.
ok - still no st words - I'm sorry I didn't get the horse the I r*** in on clue. It doesnt work with the ro word and I cant find the musical instrument that starts with st either. what is wrong with me?
Yep that's always hilarious too. I'm hopelessly addicted after just the couple of weeks I've been here. everyone in the family knows it too.
How many words are there? Thanks.
If you can't play an instrument you play a st**** A knight in shining armor rides a mighty st***
Faerie - a knight has a trusty st*** to go into battle on.
335 words today.
Hi everybody! I have enjoyed a rest today. One look at 335 words and I was out of there. I did work out some of the biggies on paper, but restrained myself from declaring them!
Jacula - Thank You - I got it. Yeah for me.
Faerie - then there are the cattle that cowboys rope and ride.
Hi ex! It is a little intimidating but I'm ticking along.
Hi ExWren. Like the hat!
Diffrent spelling on the horse. Thanks MM - got it.
st6 & pl 7 - If your record player has 2 speakers it is st****.
Oh yes - I'm on a roll now.
Thanks jac. It's my sister-in-law at a wedding
ExWren - I'll refrain from quoting one of my late-Gran's favourite sayings, 'Red hat, no dr*****!' LOL.
Knowing her jac, I wouldn't be sure!!
evening all Back to it again, down to 103 words, not sure if I can make it tonight, lol tough one
LOL, ExWren. You know the saying then.
Hi Sheryl. I know what you mean!
Hi Sheryl.
Hi Sheryl
The last se 6/18?
MM - the last se6/18 means bristly. se + anagram of the 10 things on the end of your feet.
Thanks jac. I appreciate when the def is included in the clue. Got it!
y/w, MM. I like to learn new words, too.
One I won't forget from a recent grid is 'waftage' which, apparently, is the art of waving. I'm just looking for an opportunity to use it in every day conversation!
That a great word. I must not have played that day!
jacula, hi, i'm the 'newcomer' from last night - just scrolled back & saw what you wrote - always glad to bring a smile, i'll tell you this - it's amazing how fast time has gone by today, sat down to see what i could add & over 2 hours have gone by, lol
Skating's on. Be back when they change venue again.
Hi Helen. Nice to meet you. I knew I knew the name from reading a biography but couldn't remember what it was. Goodness me! You were born in 1880, the same year as my Great Grandmother, whose picture I had up yesterday for the 'Hats' theme. :-)
MM - Happy viewing.
Hi everyone....the American skating doubles were wonderful....best of everyone...
lol, jac, small world, maybe i knew her
Maybe you did, Helen. LOL. She invented the expanding wristwatch strap but sold the idea to her employer in the Jewellery Quarter for very little. If she hadn't, we'd be squillionaires now!
Hi TBear. ((HUG)) How're things?
Ok Jacs and you... :)
TBear - Daughter and her boyfr are ill was this bad head and stomach virus that's doing the rounds, I came down with it yesterday and Paul today. Other than that, we're fine. LOL.
(Bet you wish you hadn't asked now!)
wow jacs, great piece of family history
No....it's good to share....VIRTUALLY.....lol
Mind you.....after seeing that piccy of Paul...I could do a Florence in a mask....
Jacula is spreading germs be careful. Jac-you should be in bed taking care of yourself.
Yes, Helen. Did you see the pic of my GGran? TBear - You mean you don't want our virus for real?? *Throws self dramatically to floor sobbing, 'And I thought we were friends!'*
I mean - in bed getting better:) LOL
My first gray square has appeared. 228 to go......
No Babble was invented for poorly people as long as fingers and a few brain cells aren't affected
TBear - Which pic of Paul was that? The one in his pinny??
i'm curious, are there usually fewer words in the puzzle? or always in the 300's?
usually less helen! i would say 150 is about average.
Faerie - I'm glad you said that. Saved me from being branded 'mucky-minded' by taking it wrong. (Which, of course, I DID!) ROFLOL.
We're friends but there are limits.....talking about nthe one that you accused me of doing micro surgery on to 'see'anything lol....only kidding ya
Great minds think alike................*

dalmatian, madonna's other name - the h? does that help?
that was supposed to say minus the h. didn't look that way.
missing the last qu6/27
Plural of the qu5 (don't qu*** me).
anyone have these ec's? (6 and 8)
Jacula, thanks, don't know how I missed that one
Thank you so much LeslieAnn. I wanted that word but my brain does not see the words that bend back on each other! This finishes the grid for me. Many thanks!
what about the qu 7/44 please.
congrats dalmatian!
thx leslie - very glad to hear that, maybe i'll try it again, gonna quit it for now, found 260 words
Dalmation - Congrats *%*%*fireworks for you*%*%*
I need one last word, please, and I'm done. It's the co6/30. Clue, please?
Past tense of qu5 (A Knight's qu***, Qu*** for Fire etc.)
that's more than me! good one, helen!
qu7/44 is the past tense of qu5/16
co6/20 french word for a flirt
sorry, co6/30
The ec's - The successful establishment of a plant or animal species in a habitat. (Google the definition!) Sounds a bit like 'he died from alcohol and drug exc*****.
LeslieAnn the ec is an odd one to me. It is the word and its plural. The definition of the word is the process by which a plant or animal becomes established in a new habitat.
co 6/30 is a flirt
323 words found here, Helen. Nice to meet you. See you again soon.
Congrats to all the finishers. Cross country skiing is back on. I can watch that and babble. I'm here until the skating comes back.<G>
eek, that's an odd one. thanks.
Thanks, Uneaixoise, I am finished, now I can go watch the Olympics. Thank you all for all the help. This one was a bi***.
congrats mary! (and i agree!)
hi
Congrats Mary *%*%*
mary, enjoy!
Well done, Mary! Hello Lourdes. Are you Madonna's daughter??
Whooo I have finished all the q, s and t words.
MM - I started with the q's this (UK) morning. I thought they looked the easiest. LOL.
MM-qu 8/55 and I believe the last 7/40 would help me out. Pretty please.
REFRESH to see me in my curly locks days with my 2 babies.
The ones who go looking in the first qu5/16
Those who qu5/16.
The last qu 7/40 is plural of the 6 before it.
Love your curly locks Jac.
I am quitting at 240, see you all tomorrow
Good night Peri. See you tomorrow.
I know where to get the fish. TY
goodnight peri!
Peri good nite and sweet dreams
9 words left to find here, one's a 'd' and the rest are re's.:-(
'Night Peri.
I hate re's. I'm still working through them. I have ro's left too. I somehow have ended up working the bottom part of the alphabet more than the first.
Got the 'd'. Must now seriously attack the re's for the missing 8.
I'm miss the qu that comes after a person who would give qu***s the qu 7/40
make it past tense
Faerie that is exactly it he would be the qu********
Never mind.
I keep typing the word but it just isn't taking it. I'll keep at it.
Yes that's right many people who give a qu5/16
Yes - stupid computer (grin) *
type the same word 15 times and it won't take it then all the sudden "poof" there it is. can't be the person running the keyboard. :)
No, Faerie, of course not! The very idea!
Nope it is always the computer's fault.
Jac-you really had a head full of hair lady. Cute pic.
I did, Faerie. Still do! Am changing icon to my other half and our friends at a 70s weekend we went to last year.
Jac-which one is yours in the red or purple?
Oh, it doesn't show up very well. I'll try to find a close up in a bit, must attack these re's first though.
Faerie - the red & orange. The purple is my friend's hubby.
oh no, i said i was leaving 1/2 hour ago and i'm still here, & it's only my first day here! YIKES!
Looks like they are having a grand ole time. :)
The first co 7/36?
Helen - You can't say you weren't warned! Ha! Dr_God secures yet another victim.:-)
lol
MM - co7/36 - to build together.
Thank you!
Close up of friend's hubby with the Afro hair, headband and big gold chain on. Can't find the one of Paul.
Oh, and the 'tache isn't real either! LOL.
Now, you lot, lurkers and posters, own up - who's nicked my last 8 re's??
Not I. I don't have them either. Someone stole them.
I wish we could get a closer look at these icons. Hard to see with the dark background. I'm sure the afro was killer. lol
I have my own. But I'll share.
Don't look at me.....I don't have the re's......I've the ones that you do when you lay down for a while. and where you live.
i'm done with all the c words. I'm going to win the battles instead of the war today.
just starting the c words. *big sigh*
Yeah - but you have the re's. I gave up on those. Will go back.
hey Jac. Do you know the song "Little Boxes" from the sixties? That's what is going through my head everytime I grey one today.
I know what you mean musicmom. I need a break for while. I'm going to have a hot coco and turn on the tube for a minute. I'll try to return.
Bye Faerie - Enjoy!
need to get some dinner. be back to finish later.
Bye Doxie
MM - yes,I know the song. I'm singing it now, too. I'm down to 4 missing re's: 1st re6/21 (after the bull-annoying colours), 2nd re6/21 (after dwells), 3rd re5/12 (after 'put up a fight') and the re6/21 immediately following that.
i'm back -- jacula, thank you for the followup on the clues about an hour ago! Just scanned the log and got them. Down to my last 5. Help on both the ce 6/21's anyone? And the ro 5/16 that follows the ro 6/18... ? Pls and thx!
Do you have to put earth down again?
ch1212 - your pic creepily reminds me of reese witherspoon
ch- if you do good a lot of times, those are your su******. drop the su (ce 6/21)
The first ce6/21 sounds like a breath mint the second one is a plural of the 4 before it.
jacula, your second re6/21 is the same as re (dwell) without the final vowel, AND it's plural.
helen - i agree! i was trying to place it for quite a while.
THANKS leslieann and musicmom!! HELENKELLER, it IS Reese Witherspoon, and what on EARTH was she thinking?!! :D
yw
ch1212 - y/w and thanks for the clue. That's one more down.
jacula, your first re6/21 -- think of what a doctor does when he takes away a part of your intestine or bowel, and then puts the remaining pieces together (GROSS!!!) It's called a re*****on
MM - was the to put earth down again clue for me? I've tried reso4/4 (what a baby does to a nappy before you can even change it and the grid won't have that.)
Yes it was for you. Re5/12 re+so4/5 (the first one)
jacula, the put down earth again clue is for you, and it's re + 3 letter word referring to dirt, sometimes new grass is called that. Then plural.
Got the medical clue (due to family experience, sadly) and both the grass clues. Thanks! That just leaves one word to find.
Is the de 8 related to the de 6 before?
ch, nooooo, really? that's her? good question! what WAS she thinking, lol
oooh! I've got 2 left... could you help (or anyone help) with either the so5/10 that follows what you do when you put things in order, or the ro 5/16 that comes right after the word that kind of sounds like what a rooster does plural?
musicmom, yes it is, unfortunately... it's a very different ending -- think of the little bug that causes Lyme disease. :)
so4/4+round vowel+consonant.
I'M ALL DONE - 0 words to find.
ch - do you have the ro that is similar to the te that uses the rare cosonant?
YEAH Jac. I still have 72 to go. Somehow I think i will be settling for points at the end of the evening. Not giving up yet though.
thx, musicmom! JACULA ***^^^^%%%%%********* YEAHHH! Hip, hip HURRAH! Congrats!
ch - thanks I got it!!!!!
Thanks for holding my hand and guiding me over the last words, folks. Any help I can give now, just ask!
wait i don't get it! someone explain the so 5/10 again??
jacula, I'm not sure about musicmom's clue on my ro5/16... It's the one between the ro 6/18 and ro 6/27. The ro 6/27 is the one using the rare con.
Sorry ch - that was the one I was thinking of. I'm thinking I don't have the word you need.
leslieann, she meant so + beverage letter, circle letter, and a consonent.
aha thanks
thanks anyway, musicmom! (Love your hair btw)
ro5/16 - uses a high-scoring double-letter tile in the middle. A variation of croquet played with short-handled mallets on a hard court that is bounded by a concrete wall against which a ball may rebound and be retrieved.
In fact, the word's in the clue!
Got it, jacula! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Who is your icon? The hair is hilarious. THANKS ALL -- done, done! Today's was a beastie.
congrats ch!!
Well, ch1212 - depending on whether or not you've refreshed lately (F5'd that is, not showered!) it's either Weird Al or my friend's hubby.
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR CH1212*~*~*~
Sorry I shouldn't try to give clues, search the grid and watch tv at the sme time. I am lost in the log.
Ah, Weird Al -- haven't seen him in a few years. Classic. Thanks again, all !
congrats ch!
musicmom, you do wonderfully! Please don't worry -- we all 'babble' along together :)
Thanks ch. Sometimes my fingers get ahead of my brain.
MM - 'Lost In The Log' - you should write that on BabAnon for the Babble Parody song contest to the tune of Bonnie Tyler's 'Lost In France'.
good idea Jac. I haven't explored much of bab anon yet. I will do that.
Goodnight all. My beloved is feeling poorly and I need to go give him some more tea and hugs. Tomorrow!
I'm going crazy for 2 simple words I'm sure! Two of the three co 4/5s right before the 6/30 (which I am also msising). I do have the twisty co4/5. Can anyone save me? ;)
Good night ch. Hope to see you tomorrow.
Tomorrow is President's Day (both in US, a national holiday, I believe? and on Babble for the theme). Since I'm from UK and so don't really have any real knowledge of US presidents, I shall by myself (as I am when I photograph myself tomorrow).
not warm but co** what a dove does
musicmom-oh give me a break! THANK YOU!
co** as ice. Next one is what a dove or a new mother does.
Hello. I'm back after a shower. 142 to go. hmm. borderline. The clues are really helping!
no problem - yw.
Hi Harp. Come visit with us.
I've been working really hard on this puzzle, instead of visiting. Figured that was my only hope!
I need a ce 4/5. It's one of the first ones--not the letters.
Yep I still have 70 words to go. I'm trying to ignore the log and watch it at the same time for clues.
Harp - that's what the clues are for. I leave clues, even if someone else has. Sometimes, if I don't understand a clue given, I think someone else may not either and so I try to give another perspective on it. Together, the clues all add up and often lead to words found.
Got the ce 4's. Now my last c--- the first 6/21?
Harp - it sounds like a brand of breath mints.
Got it, mm! Thanks!
while we're on the c's can someone help with my last two-the co 6/30 and the last co 5/14. Musicmom-I kept writing clues to Harp and then you would beat me to the post...very speedy tonight! Well done!
Hi Kristinc. Like I said, or tried to say, multiple clues are not a bad thing. The different perspectives often lead to words being found.
the co 6/30 is a french flirt
I agree - the more clues the better. We all seem to have a different approach. That really helps.
true Jac...I always feel like such a heel though to post almost the same thing...trying counts right?
french? So my Spanish won't help me here?
How about the last er6/21?
it's hot hot hot musicmom! ;)
use the high point consonant. co+high pointer+vowel+cross
musicmom i am watching desperate housewives your pic looks like bree!
wahooh and a big thank you for the revised clue for the co6/30...thoughts on the co 5/14?
This is lame Kristin but it sounds like a Russian soldier. I'm sorry that isn't very good.
kristin there's a few co 5/14... do you know around where the one you need is?
Leslie Ann - it does look like her doesn't it?
yes sorry...last one
the last one i have is the past tense of co** an apple, but i'm probably missing the last one too
UGh I'm still not seeing the er . Am I going to need a fish?
mm-er**** movies?
DUH! Thanks! Yep need the fishy please.
thanks anyway...leslie ann. I have that co though. When I figure it out (bad with my russian too) I'll post it!
co+squiggly+second vowel+c
er 6/21: XXX movies
thanks cyber
Yippee Musicmom! Those are the type of clues I need on a night like this. Got it Leslie Ann?
yup me too. thanks musicmom
yw yw
Have 10 minutes to give clues -- then on to supper.
Other half's up now. Has led me to his 70s closeup. REFRESH!
do 6/24 and 8 55? I'm sure once again, it is time for the fishy!
I never thought I'd see grey boxes today. Finally!
Congrats, HarpJane
Well done, Harp!
Yeah Harp.
well done Harp!
do6/24 & the 8. The man in the white coat (think George Clooney in ER). For the 8 - think 'the results were do******' (false results).
way to go harp!!!
NO, wait! They're not ALL grey. Just a few. But I'm making progress! OO words, anyone?
Harp - the oo words have been here in the grid before. Sound like a washing cream for jumpers without the first 'w' consonant.
oo's: oo + description of diet drink (L 4/4)
Thanks! I swear I tried that but clearly I didn't!
both oo's are a type of rock, limestone oo + li 4/4 (not heavy)
Hi aknitter.
Got the oo's. How bout sn 5/12?
greeting mm (and everyone else)
Never mind. I asked too soon. Got the sn's!
I sheepishly enter the room.
sn5/12 - Derogatory in a malicious, superior way.
sn 5/12: sarcastic --- sn*** remark -- next two are built from it. Got to run.
sn 5/12 is what most people consider me!! make a sn*** remark
Hi AKnitter. Where did you pop up from?
i popped up from my couch! thought i'd chime in for a while
BRB - Want to snog my OH before he leaves for work.:-))))
BTW - That was a statement and not a question!
i'm sure this is a dumb question but what is a snog?
FINISHED!... 335 words 5.31 5293
Way to GO Mr.P!
snog ... very unattractive word! but nice meaning... KISS
um aknitter i think it is something they do in er 6/21 movies :)
WTG Mr P and hallo to you!
before work???? (covers eyes)
whoops i was thinking shag. never mind ;)
Any help on the first do 5/12 and the do 6/21...Can't see how it is related to the first do 4/5 but maybe?
do we all speak the same language? isn't shag to fetch" like shag a ball? Am i from outer space?
Hi all!! I have been hiding whilst this grid loads like a wharfie on Xmas day!!!
aknitter, they are thinking of the Austin Powers movies.
i have never seen those movies ( i am from another planet)
Kristin I'm still working on the do's as well.
I haven't watched them either. Just seen the commercials on TV
so 7/28?
aknit...never seen them here either
mm, no worries, I'll ask in a while and hollar if I do get them!
so7 - so + romantic flowers
no big so's for me yet-sorry!
so7 so + r + os4/4
you could make an sn*** remark about the so 7/28. if you were not impressed with those romantic flowers ... so (insert flower here)
Got it. thanks! mm--er7--a prude would say it means nasty
oooh...MrP...a finisher. Do you happen to have a clue for the first do 5/12 and 6/21?
do5,6 - similar to a co word meaning tints or hues, change first letter
thanks!
do5 - 'US currency' remove one of the double letters in the middle and then plural for the 6
co 7 and 8?
I am no good at clueing today... better dash off and do some cleaning! In-laws are coming
Helloooooooo! We've just been reading back through all your posts since I said 'snog'. It was only a loving 'goodbye, have a good day' kiss!
co + the first er 5 and 6 (to build)
co7,8 - co + er6/21
Bye Mr P!
oh few jac, thought that since there were those er words in the puzzle this site had become xxx rated ( i did cover my eyes)
How that turned into a shag is beyond us! No time for that at this time of the morn! LOL. Incidentally, if you said 'to shag a ball' here in UK, Lord knows what would happen!
bye mrp.
if someone sent me to shag a ball, i'd go and pick it up!!!
ok...119 words to go yet and still no 10 or 11. i hate to ask for a clue but pride goeth b4 the fall. please?
Definitions of 'shag' that I know: A bird A dance A type of carpet pile And the ex-rated love-making kind.
si ...something... hmmm
Jacula, it's also a "hair-don't!"
cathyar, i always make the long words one of my goals (i rarely complete a grid) the 10 and 11 (plural) have to do with outerspace and meteors and the like i will work on a better clue
si 4/5 +ro + li 4/4
jac i had a shag rug in my room as a teenager -- used to rake it daily to keep the pile up
si10,11 - besi** + r + opposite of heavy (spelled differently)
GOSH LUV YA'S.... thanks! I'd have never gotten that!!
i can not make a single word off of the e or the o in the 4th line. i am convinced that they do not exist!!!
same with me aknitter
*whispers* I have some but I couldn't begin to tell you which ones :( They have to exist though (missing many too btw)
Okay - me and Paul have snogged, laughed over the chat log, said 'bye, 'bye again and he's gone to work now. Who needs what clues?
i, for one am clue-less (as usual)
make that clue-less as evident by our recent discussion LOL
I have 0 words to find. Finally finished.
since you asked, what about the de 6/21?
*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR DOXY*~*~*~*~
hooray doxy!
de6 - dry arid place, full of camels and oasis
Harp - forgot the shaggy perm! A hair don't? I loved my shaggy perm!
thanks...I imagine the 8 and 7 to follow then aren't related?
Damn, Doxy! Now I'm singing 'Midnight At The Oasis' (old Maria Muldoor hit'.
I'm off to find icon for tomorrow. Thanks for the help, see you tomorrow.
de8 - build on the de6, third vowel + consonant de7 - after dinner treats
de7 - what is good after supper
midnight at the oasis???? now that's a song i could have lived without thinking about. Jac if that gets stuck in my head ........
de8/50 - stupidhead word with no definition other than that it follows on from the dry sandy place with camels... de6/21-like. A 3rd vowel and then 3rd letter of the alphabet finish.
jac, ROFLMAO
the oe words? I'm assuming the 8 is a plural of the 7?
sned your camel to bed
ooh...thanks for the help on the de's!
Omigod! AKnitter's going to skewer me with her knitting pins! You are all witnesses to this! HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLP!
i will tie you up with wool first so that you do not get away. THEN pipe in the oasis song and drive you mad!!!! I'd never use my needles as weapons (love them dearly)
MM - The best way to find the 'oe' words (no female hormones in this grid) is to Google the definition for the singular word: The centimeter-gram-second electromagnetic unit of magnetic intensity, equal to the magnetic intensity one centimeter from a unit magnetic pole.
Shadows painting our faces Traces romance in our heads
No, no, AKnitter! Not an Oasis song! How could you be so cruel to a relative of George Harrison??
oh my Jac and aknit. You guys need peer mediation (or a mild sedative)! :)
oh make the voices stop.... Heaven holding a half moon Shining just for us Let's slip off to a sand dune real soon Kick up a little dust
Whoohoooo got it.... "Little boxes little boxes on the hillsides...."
I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping While my guitar gently weeps I look at the floor and I see it need sweeping Still my guitar gently weeps
ty jac... you've sent me off on a much better song, one of my favs
*Jac looks to Heaven and says thank you to her cousin. Tells him his words stopped her being bound up in yarn and murdered.* LOL.
cousin? that is rather cool
The first te 6/18?
te6/18 - Cylindrical but usually slightly tapering at both ends, circular in cross section, and smooth-surfaced. Or te + 2nd re4/4.
AK - I think George would have rather liked this log, had he found it. Especially when it got what I would call 'heavy' on the discussion front.
i really loved his music, my older brothers were of the beatles error. i think they even had a band. i have seen a pic of my oldest brother in a nehru jacket with the little sunglasses -- guess he was a wanna-be LOL
A brief icon just loaded. Me wearing the false 70s 'tache. LOL. Enjoy! (It must be a Hair Don't!?)
passes a razor (def a hair don't)
The little sunglasses, AK, were more Macca and Lennon's style. Not George and not Richard.
hey aknitter...did u ever find that e-word from the 4th line?
i'm still on the e-word hunt
LOL, AK. Okay, I'll shave it off! It was irritating my nostrils anyway.
Jac...seriously? Is that really you?
it's e + the little bug that makes sheep itch!
might there be a clue flying about for the qu 6/27?
Kristinc - yes, that is me, trying to hold a false 'tache, the glue of which has gone, on. Did that make any sense?
qu 6/27-add an r to your qu 5/16
sorry-to the second qu 5/16
qu6/27 - there are 2 of them actually. one who cites something previously written... and the plural for same.
Jac...made sense, that is unreal!
qu6/27 - someone who spouts Shakespeare or whomever.
oh that deserved a fish, had the other 2
Sorry dropped out for a bit. Putting the kids and husband to bed. I'm still waiting to see the top American dance team skate.
jac will you lose that mustache it is hard to take you seriously wearing that LOL
I think I deserve a nice Scottish Salmon for putting up my latest icon!
you'll get it caught in the fir
Jac that is hilarious.
oops fur
Kissing a man with a 'tache like the one one my icon is like kissing a toilet brush, And I should know, my ex-hubby sported such a 'tache. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy to prickley!
Cathyar -- are you still there? i have the e word form the 4th row. I don't know what it means but try this e+the blood sucking bug that attaches to your dog (minus the last letter)
My Dad also sported such a 'tache, but, well, it was a different kind of kissing. LOL.
i'm only up to 165 words, don't think i'll even come close to completing this grid
I've changed my icon t my today one, but I'm going to nip off now while you sort your words out, all of you.
Good night Jac. I'm going to keep at it until the skating is over. Then I'm going to bed - done or not.
jac, that is much better -- a great improvement
Well, AK, I hope it helps your concentration. I'm off to a games site for a while.BBL.
to 5/16? & to 6/27?
to 5/16 is a type of hat, common on chemo pts and its plural (uses that lovely q)
bye Jac! Thanks for all you help!
Thank you ak!
yw
hooray done!
Oh brother I have nothing but l and r words. left. 23 of them.
Wow. Congrats LeslieAnn!
Congrats LESLIE ANN!
i will give some clues if you gals need 'em :)
Could I have the first li6/21 and the first lo4/5 to get me jump started please?
li 6/21 - first three letters what you do with your tongue - K, second part another name for rip minus the last letter
first lo 4/5-a specific place or to be really simple: li+third letter+vowel
first lo 4/5 - what you have on your door, exchange the k for an i
sounds a bit like Hannibal L*****
ty
ooh unea's clue was better
ty one and all. That will help.
with fava beans and a nice chianti
There is another word game that a lot of you play -- it was mentioned by a newcomer to our group either last night or earlier today -- can't remember the name though -- any ideas?
cyber- either 'tangle' (on iwin.com) or literati....those are the 2 I've heard bantered about....
was it literati?
cybernan-I think it's Quiddler, www.setgame.com
this one's fun: http://www.eastoftheweb.com/ga mes/Eight1.html
Thanks, Easter -- I will look them up.
this game is a killer....dunno if I'll finish this beast.... *dives back into puzzle*
first in 5/10 anybody?? it is taunting me
can i have a clue for the 2 E words from the E in the first line please?
argh! one r left-the first re 6/21-purty please?
in 5/10 - not moving, i + a geeky person, change d to t
Try the east of the web multi player games. I was on those way before I discovered the addiction that is Babble!
in 5/10-a type of gas-rhymes with dirt
re + se 4/5, kristin
Re + a short Sidney James, he of the dirty laugh from the old British 'Carry On' films.
ty all
i think those are the ec's, cathy... ec + second vowel + not bro but *** (and plural)
thank you LeslieAnn
cathyar ec -- The successful establishment of a plant or animal species in a habitat. and the plural
Hi everyone
well i'm off --- bedtime for me see you all tomorrow
'Nite Ak, Hiya Wolfie (((HUGS)))) Sorry my UK-based clues didn't work for the rest of you.:-(
Hi Woulfie!! Bye aknitter....
co8?
Hi All: Been out with friends and still have 40 words left..might have to forget finishing this one
Hi Speed. I'm down to 10 but am fading fast.
don't quit, we can help!
co8?
So I am sitting here trying to finish the grid so I can finally go to sleep -- have only had about 2 hours sleep in the past 24
Woulfie: Where have you been? Busy with Sebastion?
lo8/45 - not the one that is having hung out in a parking lot.
co8 is plural of co7/36 - what builders do when they decide to put up a building togtether.
co + er 6/21 (it is a plural)
Jac I thought you were leaving.
thanks--had no idea that was a word!
lo 8 - the deity + os 4/4
MM - I did not say I was leaving. I just said that I was off t o a games site for a while.
TY Leslieann. I knew that had to be the r***.
musicmom-curvature of the spine
Hi JoJo -- sort of -- he caught his sister's cold and last night could not sleep as a result -- then this morning I noticed he was wheezing so we took him in to the ER to be safe and they have admitted him to observe overnight --- the pediatrician thinks they may keep him there for a couple of days -- Mom is staying there with him
Ahhhh. I get it.
to5/16?
to5/16 a kind of hat
Woulfie: That doesn't sound good. My prayers will be for Sebastion. Overnight?
could be allergy and could be exacerbated by the cold weather . . . so sorry to hear
to5/16 - a hat. We've seen it before. In 3rd place it uses the double lettered tile.
the to 5/16 uses that big-pointer in the bottom row
He tested pos for RVS so they want to keep him where they can watch him closely due to his extreme youth
Woulie - sending good thoughts to little Seb.... ((((((HUG)))))))))
sorry -- RSV -- the virus that you have to be careful about with children -- however everyone is fairly confident that there is nothing to worry about
Woulfie: Guess I am stupid or something, but what is RSV?
RSV is a virus -- I actually don't know much more than that - since Kirsten is a nurse I let her keep track of that info -- all I know is that due to the separation, she is very brittle emotionally right now
Woulfie: Glad to hear there is nothing to worry about. Kids are a gift. So glad that Kris is staying with him tonight. It does mean a lot, babies do remember.
GW - if Kirsten wasn't brittle emotionally and physically right now, I would have to wonder if she wasn't Wonderwoman! It's natural.
Woulfie: Tell Kirsten that she is making the right choice, staying overnight with Sebastian. You al will survive.
GW - best thoughts and prayers for Seb. Though common it still is stressful to have one so young ill.
Big Hugs to Woulfie and family (((XX))) will say extra prayers for all of you!!!!

Thanks everyone. i'm off. I want to watch the end of the Olympics and I need to get to bed. See you tomorrow.
**Hugs** to you Woulfie and to Kirsten and Sebastian. Will remember them in my prayers. Things will be OK, I just know it.

I'm afraid to compliment the icons today. What if I say "wow, your icon is a classic example of bad hair!" and then find out it is a self-portrait....
Of course, President Carter is my favorite president, AND he has bad hair....
I have no wish to talk about either presidents or prime ministers at this point.
Wow: That was one long puzzle but I finished....have to say first time in months the last 50 I used a2z...but when I got that far I had to finish!!!!

any clues on the oc's? I already know the 1st 3 letters, just can't find the endings!!
and how about thje oo's?
Ish: oc plus French for three. oo plus variant spelling of light.
i have one four leter word left and know what it is but babble wont accept it, it keeps telling me that i already have it, do you know what i can do
thanks mab, got all of them, leaving just 107 more to find in the last3 minutes?!?!?!?!
my first full days work here - got 305, can't wait to see what i missed
i just hope all the puzzles aren't this long - don't think i will be able to fit that into my life
oc7/32 - Oc +20th letter of the alphabet (first letter and sound of UK and India's favourite drink to cure all ills))is the start for both. Best clue I can give you is for the oc7/32 = oc + French for 'three'. For the oc6 - remove the last letter.
