G'Morning all -- just checking the board to see if I may work on it later :) My laundry is done and I should go to beddy bye

12:23 am

Morning Woulf... How's Sebastian?

12:23 am

Hello GW how is the little girl and the new man and Mama... is mama on her feet yet ??

12:23 am

GW, how's Sebastian? can you do me a favor?

12:24 am

I have a whopping 22 words and I am stuck :-( to think that I am the one at work who obsessively corrects the spelling (and grammar) in the memos.

12:25 am

He is doing well -- they are keeping him in the hospital primarily as a precaution due to his age -- but since we caught the symptoms just as they first manifested he is not in any serious danger at all

12:25 am

Ah, but paganlady, half the words here are questionable.

12:25 am

PL that is great for a first timer... just keep going...there are little groups of words... just look up and down and all around.....

12:25 am

paganlady--a lot of these words just aren't used in normal conversation. you get better the more often you play.

12:25 am

Angel -- what do you need?

12:26 am

I missed that.... is Seb in hosp for the coughing he was doing the other nite..??

12:26 am

I appreciate the encouragement... the stats page really messes me up too... doesn't make sense to me.

12:26 am

I didn't know he was in hospital Woulf.. I hope he gets home to you all soon ((((hugs))))

12:27 am

GW, on BabAnon, I've posted a link: Announcing a new Babble Resource". Can you go take a peek and see what you think?

12:27 am

what stats page are you looking at ??

12:28 am

Blaze -- Saturday he had trouble sleeping and when I noticed that he was wheezing I woke Kirsten who said he should go to the ER -- he caught RSV (a respiratory virus) from his sister -- so they admitted him to the hospital since he is only 3 weeks old

12:28 am

where the link is to flip to stats

12:29 am

Pagan lady.... are you a pro babbler ???

12:29 am

yes... in name only <wry grin> I paid for babble pro

12:29 am

GreyWoulf--oh how scary. My 4-year-old got RSV when he was 3 months and was admitted. I was just petrified, even though he really didn't have as bad a case as he could. Hope your little one is better soon.

12:30 am

have you entered your profile What do you see when you click flip to stats ?

12:30 am

Angel -- I think it is absolutely cool!!!

12:30 am

in the first line alone in the stats page it has S words listed twice... I'm confused

12:31 am

click on the need help with stats... the numbers are the amount of words made from that letter... two S means each has words that they start....

12:31 am

GW: does it make sense?

12:32 am

Angelsong, I just checked out your new page with the links in babanon -- wonderful! I have bookmarked it and now I can delete all those resource pages I had in separate places, because you have them all in one spot! BLESS YOU!! THANK YOU!!!!

12:32 am

Paganlady, the letters in the stats page correspond with the letters in the grid. So if there are two s in the top row of the grid, the stats page will separate them also.

12:32 am

the first line has S/6 and S/22

12:33 am

yes 6 words from that letter and then 22 from the other

12:33 am

ah... .that's it... thank you so much Jane... that's what had me baffled

12:33 am

ch: I will happily create a page like that for you, if you like. no cost. I do them for fun.

12:34 am

outnumbered -- thanks for the empathy -- it is a bit nervewracking, but thankfully, Momma is a nurse so what we are dealing with is not so much a fear factor as a concern over getting back to our normal routine -- it is very hard on our daughter since she hasn't seen her mother in 2 days -- children under 12 are not allowed in the pediatric wing until April

12:35 am

Greywoulf, just saw your posts. We are keeping your little ones in heartfelt prayer. Thank goodness you insisted on the hospital. RSV is serious. Bless you and your family. angelsong, I thought I could just bookmark it and use the one you have on babanon... do you mean that the page is a 'sample' with no actual links?

12:36 am

oh, gosh, I can imagine that'd be tough. glad your dw is a nurse, that has to help tremendously. can see how it'd throw the family totally off though. how old is your dd?

12:36 am

angel as a new player i like your page very helpful ty

12:37 am

Angel -- it makes sense to me :) and like ch1212 I have bookmarked it for easy reference ;D

12:37 am

Hi GW -- sorry to hear your little ones have got a bug -- hoping for a speedy recovery.

12:38 am

ch1212 -- actually, the hospital stay was at the dr's insistence, but we are not ones to go against the advice of the professional in these circumstance

12:39 am

angel as a new player may I have a link please?

12:40 am

evening all! how is puzzle land today?

12:40 am

outnumbered -- my daughter is 2 and a half -- and the vector for the RSV -- when we took my son in for his well baby visit, there was another little boy in the waiting room and she played with him

12:40 am

ch: no. that page and its content are fully functional. I posted it so Babblers can have a look at it. If you want a page to keep in a folder on your hard drive, I can make one for you, so if the page doesn't load, you will still have your own. I made that one in about 15 minutes, so it's easy to do. I will make those pages for anyone who would like one. It's just text, so it's safe to open in your browser.

12:41 am

In any case, GW... although I do NOT believe that families should be separated in hospital settings. Wish they would let siblings see each other, like the birthing suites so many hospitals have these days.

12:41 am

Hi Mrp, GW and All...

12:41 am

And as always -- my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your ongoing support and prayers :) (*Hugs to all*)

12:42 am

oh gosh, that takes me back. my oldest, then 2, caught it (I imagine at daycare) and gave it to his 3-month-old brother. it was so traumatic for me--dh was at boot camp, and I had a sick 2 y/o and an infant in the hospital.

12:42 am

paganlady, you can find the link at Babbler's Anonymous; general, announcing a new Babble resource...or, as I said, I will most happily make one for you.

12:42 am

they both wound up on breathing treatments after...I remember my oldest running circles in the living room from the albuterol! but 2 weeks later both were back to normal.

12:43 am

Angelsong, you are so gracious! If you don't mind I would be honored :) My em is ch1212@hotmail.com if you need it to send the page along. Thank you so much!

12:43 am

Hi Chic

12:43 am

MrP are those two cuties yours? Twins? They are precious!

12:43 am

Angelsong... thanx bunches... I will check out Babblers Anon another time

12:44 am

ch12... they are my precious ones... 1 year apart!! may as well have been twins... LOL

12:44 am

good job, angelsong! --- a great resource.

12:44 am

oh, cool, ch! I'd love to do this for you. what colors do you like?

12:45 am

ch1212 -- I agree with you that family's shouldn't be separated, but on the other hand I understand the hospital's policy -- the highest incidence of RSV is during the winter -- so they do not let anyone under 12 into the peds wing between November to March -- if it were summer, they would let Kristianna see her brother

12:47 am

87 to go now I need tea... be back shortly

12:47 am

paganlady -- Welcome to Babbleonia!! Our insane asylum away from the insane asylum!! Sorry to be so late in greeting you, but as you have seen I have some other things going on that are a little distracting ;) Never be afraid to ask us anything, we are here to help maximise your Babbling pleasure!

12:48 am

oooh, I get to pick out colors?! Let's see... purple and gold ... or forest green and ocean blue. Either combo would be wonderful! GW, that does make sense. Hopefully your little son will be home shortly.

12:48 am

Time to hit the hay.... 'nite, all... and glad for you GW that all is going well now...(((Hugs))) to all.

12:50 am

We are hoping for a Wed return -- they haven't given a specific time frame, but he seems to be recovering fairly quickly since they started with the nebulizer treatments :) They want his doses to be 4 hours apart before they send him home -- so Wed is a reasonable probability

12:50 am

ch, I have a couple of good sources of free templates; I'll see what I can find for you. I'll send you some links to look at to choose a template you like, then I will make the page for you. I will send you full instructions, also, OK?

12:50 am

((**chic**)) -- sorry I didn't say hi before :)

12:51 am

Hello all

12:51 am

well I will have to go to bed with just 53...kids will be up early in the morning, and it helps to be awake when driving the oldest to school ;)

12:52 am

Angel -- if you would do the same for me I would appreciate it -- I like the idea of custom and not pink ;D Address is in my profile

12:52 am

I'm not finding any words with more than 5 letters, save one lonely little six letter word :(

12:53 am

GW, happy to!

12:54 am

I haven't entered a word yet!

12:54 am

sorry, I had to step away for a moment. My beloved has been in bed with a nasty respiratory bug, fever of 102 F, coughing, etc. I've been nursing the past 3 days, and he just woke up again. Time for more acetominephen. Thank you, Angelsong, please do send the instruction/templates along! You are so wonderful to do this!

12:55 am

got your e mail address, GW...do you have a preference as far as color?

12:56 am

Hi mrp! mamabear and I just played Literati before :) It was great, even though at one point I fell asleep on her (*blush*)

12:56 am

v8/65

12:57 am

Angel -- I'll have to think about that one and get back to you -- my brain is fogging over -- I really meant to do a quick in and out but got sucked into the chat like I always do

12:57 am

say what?!! GW do I understand that you and mambear ... she's your mate? Wow, married babblers! And I thought my beloved and I were the only two :)

12:58 am

ch -- no, mama is just a friend

12:58 am

grey... did you win!!?? or did mamabear beat your a** LOL

12:59 am

(he answers quickly, lest the misunderstanding grow) Well, that's pretty terrific too. She's a babble icon for many of us too, and wonderful with clues.

12:59 am

Kirsten is my lady, but she doesn't believe that she has the capacity or the patience to willingly suffer the torture of the grid :D

1:00 am

could I have some help with the 8's and 9?

1:00 am

okay, I'm off to administer meds and hugs and take temperature once again -- be back later.

ch12.. my OH is licketysplitAUS and he is a big babble cheat!! Watch him!!

1:00 am

mrp -- I won but I did end up getting the majority of the high point tiles

1:00 am

half way and the eyes are glazing over -- good night all.

1:01 am

I'll keep an eye out, mrp. 'night cybernan, sleep well.

bye cybernan! Lovely photos btw!! ch12... who is your beautiful photo of??

1:01 am

I am right behind you c-nan :) (*Hugs to all*) -- I will see you tomorrow night when I will begin this thing Time for some much needed slumber :)

nite grey... don't let mamabear sucker you in... she lets you win for a couple of games, then POW!!

1:05 am

8's and the 9? I"m going stare-blind.........

STATS is up on babanon

1:06 am

one last post -- mrp, that's my little beauty, except she's 30 years old now, and engaged for the first time (like me, late bloomer!) She just finished her Masters Degree in Education and is an amazing woman. She was loads of fun at the age this photo was taken. Okay, night all! My husband is asleep again, so I have to take advantage of it too before he's up again.

ch12... she is beautiful and you must be so proud!! goodnight to you and your sick OH! hope he is better soon :))

1:10 am

Angelsong, sp 8/50 builds on sp 5/14 - faster sp 9 builds on sp 6/24 - arachnid both have the same ending

thanks sweet!!

1:18 am

you're welcome!

that vi8 is a doozie!!

sounds like a treatment for herpes....

1:40 am

or a treatment for what GreyWoulf's baby has.

2:00 am

Candy and flowers to Angelsong! You work is impressive and so helpful. Thank you for taking the time to pull so much information into one place!!!!

2:12 am

any help on the first ir 4/5 ?

2:15 am

Are any of you finding this to be a difficult puzzle?

2:16 am

ir 4/5 - to anger add a man's name to the end

2:37 am

Morning dear gang :)

Hi Sprite!

2:38 am

Dalmation - when I started the grid I thought it was a little difficult but once you get into the groove it's not so bad. I'm done.....would anyone like some clues before I leave?

2:38 am

Chat got quiet Sprite. I wonder who is here!

2:38 am

Ha mrP! How's the grid today?

2:38 am

Hi Sprite!

2:39 am

Hi dalmatian, SweetTooth :D Good to see you guys!

2:39 am

I guess I am all the vowels are throwing me.

2:41 am

Vowel words are harder. Don't know why, but they are. Did I ever mention I hate K-words, btw? ;)

2:41 am

Okay, I have to correct that. I just found a K4 I don't hate at all.

2:41 am

There are only 2 K words so they will not be a problem for you Sprite.

2:43 am

Darn... so there is another one. Better get that out of the way now then... *goes K-hunting*. I deserve a lot of K4's for finding that K4, really.

2:44 am

The other K sounds like a nickname for a girl.

2:44 am

I just tried 'kivi'. Need I say more? ;)

well... it is a challenge!

2:45 am

Ah... got it! Sounds japanese to me.

2:45 am

Sprite, I think it's a Japanese word, has to do with Shinto.

2:46 am

From your brain right to my fingers, SweetTooth!

2:47 am

I really think amor and amore should be allowed. We sure use them enough in out conversations.

2:48 am

I agree fully, dalmation. Especially since 'eros' is allowed.

2:48 am

Sprite, let's try that trick next time I need a word.

2:49 am

It's a deal, SweetTooth :)

2:52 am

I just got thinking about your remark, dalmatian. What a world we live in, if 'armor' is allowed and 'amor' isn't.

2:53 am

Why are we not surprised?

2:54 am

That's the real sad thing... that it is not even surprising anymore. More love and K4's and amor and eros is needed in this world! :)

2:56 am

I agree, Sprite

2:57 am

And it seems like the world is getting farther apart and more violent instead of closer together and getting along.

2:57 am

You know, I really appreciate the gentleness of the chat here - I think it is special.

2:59 am

I have never been fortunate enough to be in a chat area where so much of the world is represented and yet everyone gets long so well and is so special to everyone else. I love just sitting back and reading others chat.

3:01 am

That's exactly what I feel about this chat. Well, at least it shows that it CAN be done! :) There is always H4 for the world too then.

3:02 am

I think that is one of the main problems. Individually folks seem to get along quite well. It is when the government steps in and politics get involved there are problems.

3:02 am

I don't chat anywhere else so I can't compare, but people seem to be very kind and supportive here. Now if only the world leaders could learn from us!

3:03 am

Hear hear! We should make the President take lessons from our mrP.

3:11 am

Time for bed, goodnight all.

3:11 am

Sweet dreams Sweet Tooth.

3:11 am

Sweet dreams, SweetTooth :)

3:12 am

You too Dalmation! Sprite, have a great day!

3:13 am

Okay... 'moreover' and 'coerce' are NOT in the grid. I tried often enough to be sure.

3:33 am

there are 8 and 9 letter words in here? LOL. Stupid grid!

3:41 am

Atalante - you should 'quickly' find at least one of the 8 letter words.

3:48 am

ooooh yes!

Finished!! Yee Haa! that was alright!

3:53 am

Congratulations - so it can be done!

sp9 - the 8 legged creature, works off that sp8 - be faster than... both have same letter endings

3:56 am

I hope there are no arachnophobes on today!

better go watch CSI-NY... miss my gary!

bye all, enjoy!! (wave)

3:58 am

Bye - enjoy CSI!

4:17 am

If only we could have epicerie

4:19 am

I agree. Hi Atalante :)

4:20 am

hi Sprite!

4:22 am

Don't know why, but I am having trouble with this grid. Run out of easy-to-find words long before I hit the halfway mark. But slowly getting there :) How are you doing?

4:22 am

I dont like it much either. Got 70 words to go, and distinctly slowing down ...

4:23 am

Thanks for saying that Sprite. You are always so sharp. This grid is giving me the blues too! I know you do not use BJ's list but I have to say without it I doubt I would be able to tackle this one.

4:25 am

I still need 26 more words, stats panel is already open en I am contemplating A2Z seriously. Still need 4 more 7s as well... tough grid for me!

4:29 am

I will *not* look at BJs list. I will *not not not*!

4:30 am

Some words I had trouble finding: one of the biggies is R7, plural of compound grass. There is a Pt6/21 (really), drooping eyelid. And there is an S-word that ends in a V.

4:30 am

'Atalante was carried off by men in white coats. Her only words were "I will not look, I will not look"'

4:30 am

LOL!

4:31 am

sounds about right! I've got the pt word, off to search for the R grass

4:34 am

I will never learn to find the compounds right away. The leggy S9 is so much easier to spot than that Re7. Teaches me something about the way my mind works... I can see patterns in almost everything, but am blind to putting together a few simple things.

4:34 am

Sprite - I set off to look for the s word ending in v then realised I already had it! It'll be a familiar word to lots of British people.

4:35 am

Haz: it was new to me, found it monkeytyping systematically... that's when I know I am in trouble! ;)

4:35 am

and dont forget its plural ;)

4:35 am

It has a plural too. Figures. *hits self on the head*

4:35 am

It was used to describe black marketeer types during the Second World War.

4:36 am

same here - I hate compounds - I just don't see them

4:37 am

'Sprite was admitted to hospital with a self-inflicted head injury. Her only words were "Plurals, I must remember plurals."

4:37 am

Thanks Haz, didn't know that :) Never came across it in the meaning that the dictionary gives, so this helps!

4:38 am

NO! NOOOOOOO! I want to be carried away by nice men in white coats too, so Atalante and I can keep eachother company!

4:39 am

we'd both end up in the hospital Sprite!! :)

4:39 am

As long as it is the same hospital, it's okay ;)

4:39 am

We'll bear it in mind!

4:41 am

V8/65! Sounds like a detergent for very tiny bugs. If you could see me now... jumping up and down my chair from pure joy and pride, lol.

4:42 am

omg! go you! I nearly tried that ages ago and thought it looked too silly even to try! LOL

4:43 am

arb past tense of anger??

4:43 am

I thought I'd try that ending to anything even remotely likely... it took! :) :)

4:44 am

davetins: i4 angered.

4:50 am

TY sprite but I was trying to help ARB

4:50 am

words I want to type today: diorite, epicerie, orifice

4:51 am

Oh yes! Especially that orifice, because orivice is there... argh!

4:53 am

Any help on the sp7/36, next to last sp4/8 please

4:53 am

Sorry davetins, didn't recognize arb as name ;)

4:54 am

OK, no prob Sprite

4:56 am

davetins: resembling an ever ingoing circle (or outgoing, now I think about it).

4:57 am

Hi, how many words are there today

4:58 am

157

4:59 am

thanx sprite

5:00 am

And about 137 of them are hard, lol. Done! Any clues I can help out with before I go pay some attention to my offspring?

5:02 am

Don't get the circle clue Sprite

5:03 am

Got it TY sprite

5:04 am

davetins: it isn't exactly a circle, but I can't give the right word for it. A shape that starts out like a circle, but circles nearer towards the middle with every turn. You'll need the ending that means "resembling something".

5:04 am

Too late with the clue, lol. Glad you found it.

5:06 am

Ty anyway sprite, I'm stuck on the re6/21 and 7/36 before the long grass

5:07 am

I do not have a Re6/21?

5:08 am

sorry, 6/24

5:08 am

Dave - color + opposite of bottom.

5:09 am

Ty diane

5:10 am

I am off then, thanks for the fun and the company! Have a great day/night/whatever and happy hunting to you all. :)

5:10 am

Bye Sprite

5:11 am

byeeeeeeeeeee sprite

5:11 am

bye sprite!

5:13 am

That's me done, a toughie today, anyone need help before I go

5:30 am

ho 7/40 is giving me problems.

5:31 am

a care centre, Haz.

5:31 am

Haz - ho7/40 is a place for the terminally ill.

5:32 am

Of course it is! Thank you!

5:32 am

ho7 a place to go to die with dignity.(soory to be gloomy)

5:32 am

Morning all.

5:33 am

Morning everyone.

5:34 am

morning, Jac, Mac & Haz. & everyone else while I'm at it.

5:34 am

Good morning to all!

5:38 am

sorry to hi & run, but I'm all done and have to catch up with the housework before the laundry police find me... have fun, everyone!

5:47 am

slow going today. no sign of the V8 or the sp9?

5:47 am

Well, I've typed all my words from my written list (1st sweep of the grid) in. 109 words. I'm quite pleased, though I would like to know why one cow cannot be 'mooier' than another! :-)

5:49 am

sp9/66 (Just got it!) - more 8-legged!

5:49 am

What an awful word though.

5:50 am

Mac - Not that easy to say either!

5:50 am

It`s a pop in and out morning.Hello to anyone I`ve missed.

5:51 am

Very true Jacula.

5:53 am

oooh, the sp9 gives me the cr6/24. any help with the vi8?

5:54 am

still need 100 words, this is the most i've struggled in a long time!!

5:54 am

This was Sprite's clue for the v8: V8/65! Sounds like a detergent for very tiny bugs. If you could see me now... jumping up and down my chair from pure joy and pride, lol.

5:55 am

vi8 an agent that inhibits or destroys viruse

5:56 am

Got it! Thanks, Mac.

5:57 am

Jacula lose the v for another word.

6:00 am

Erm, I lost the 'v' but the grid says 'No'.:-(

6:03 am

oops my apologies.Of or relating to the iris of the eye is the definition of the word I meant.

6:04 am

Thanks, Mac. I found that whilst trying the lost 'v' variations.:-)

6:05 am

or6/21 help please .Not the alloy used in cheap jewelery

6:11 am

Got it.Amazing what fresh coffee can do.

6:12 am

*Jac scuttles off to switch coffee machine on.*

6:14 am

I could have made one for you.How rude of me.Have a shortbread to go with your drink;0)

6:17 am

Thanks, Mac.:-) I need to disappear for a while now - got a poorly daughter and she's sitting here whimpering like a puppy. She also said she could see 'orifice' in the grid and now I keep 'seeing' it, too.

6:18 am

Sorry to hear you`ve a patient to care for.I hope she`s well soon.See you later.

6:26 am

Finished now .Time to go.Bye anyone who is still playing.

6:27 am

bye, macadam!

6:28 am

good morning everyone. wow,is this a hard one! 67 left and I'm completely blind to any other possibilities. Feel like committing vowelicide!

6:29 am

morning, eva . . . yep, this one ain't a breeze!

6:35 am

Is that anything like disenvowelment, Eva??

6:38 am

Morning girls and boys. Vowelcide and disenvowelment? You ladies are......making me laugh!

6:41 am

Mornin' gramma... how are you today?

6:41 am

6:41 am

Help with si5/12, anyone? Hello. Been lurking.Love disenvowelment :)

6:45 am

si5/12 add short mothers

6:46 am

Hello :)

6:47 am

Thanks, all. Sometimes I'm so stupid. I'm stuck on sk5/20 now.

6:47 am

Mornin' lotti! How are you today?

6:48 am

Is a vowel movement the definition of a particularly noise time in the loo? Sorry!

6:48 am

sk5 opposite of fatto milk

6:48 am

Good thanks...how are you??

6:49 am

Well, that wasn't in the a2z wordfinder. I'd never have got it. Thanks!

6:51 am

See ya soon Jera :)

6:52 am

7:11 am

Hi Eva :) Gramma....Macadams gone. I was just on the phone to her and she said she`s sorry, but no she hasn`t seen Munner :)

7:12 am

mornin lotti, mornin gramma!

7:15 am

I remember when I 1st started and was scared to death to jump in on the conversations and munner was so welcoming and kind. ( since then, I've learned that evry1 is.) I also recall there was an illness involved. So I'm hoping all is well. 8}

7:17 am

I must admit, it does seem a long time since i last saw Munner around. Like you say, i hope all is well :)

7:18 am

Good afternoon girls !!....hope everyone is well and happy :)

7:19 am

Hey there, Karys ^_^ Life is good!

7:25 am

Ok, ok, ok I'm gone *poof*

7:28 am

Morning all. Angelsong - love the resource page. Thanks!

7:30 am

musicmom: I would be very happy to make a page like that one for any Babbler who wants one.

7:31 am

Wow Angel that's really nice. let me think about it. I can see it would be useful. There are resources I don't use because I have to go find them every time.

7:32 am

musicmom, making the pages is fun! just let me know.

7:33 am

Okay I will. I'm going to be popping in and out today -Tuesday is a teaching day. Tomorrow I will be around most of the day. Let me get my thoughts together on what I would want.

7:37 am

I'm taking a break for lunch but will be back shortly. I've managed to finish the grid, but giving clues for some of the words will be 'challenging'.

7:37 am

Enjoy your meal Haz. Congrats on the finish. this is a weird one.

7:38 am

See you later Haz :) Just off to get more coffee!!!! Back in a sec :)

7:38 am

Yes, and don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise!

7:51 am

angelsong -- just checked out the page, and it looks pretty good! a very good place to send beginning babblers to, so we dont have to explain everything umpteen million times. ;)

7:52 am

evanadine: I did that page for myself initially to keep everything handy. Worked so well, I decided to share. I posted it online so Babblers could see it...and I'm offering to make a page like it for anyone wanting one. I love making them.

7:53 am

maybe you could just "Become a Friend" of babble + have it posted on the list of links!

7:54 am

I did post a link to Babble on my blog when I went Pro in December, and notified Jamie...but he hasn't linked my blog or anything.

7:58 am

maybe you should notify him again -- he does get backed up sometimes, especially since hes working on a new game. ;)

8:03 am

just sent Jamie another e mail about it.

hi everyone! on way to stupid meeting - see you all later!

8:04 am

i certainly think its a worthy site. :)

8:04 am

Hi TO - Bye TO

8:05 am

I am pleased with it!

8:08 am

angelsong, great job! May i make one suggestion? Add www.morewords.com to the navigation bar in the section where you've listed a2z. I use morewords a lot!

8:09 am

Hi. I'm back again. Angel - I've just looked at your Babble page and I think it's great. I've saved it in my 'Babble Stuff' folder.

8:09 am

hadnt seen that one before, thanks une! *adds it to her list*

8:12 am

thats great angel.....well done.....bytheway I use 'morewords' too

8:13 am

Have to work. Be back later.

8:13 am

Good morning all ! :)

8:13 am

hi bugzy :)

8:14 am

Angel - Just one thing. The BA site is SWMBO'S not Anj's.

8:15 am

Hey Karys :) Angel - Love the site! I have it in my favorites now... Thanks for putting it together :)

8:29 am

Jac, thanks. I've edited the page to reflect SWMBO's work.

8:32 am

Hello all. I do love that Morewords.com website. Just what I was looking for.

8:32 am

Hi All - back for a second bite!

8:32 am

I have added the link for morewords to the Resource page. Thanks.

8:32 am

Hi Sushi and Spellit :)

8:33 am

Hi Bugzy

8:38 am

DONE....anyone need a clue???

8:39 am

Ouwachita - I've been sitting with my fingers poised over the keyboard for ages now, ready to help give clues, but the other babblers are either all finished or very busy!

8:39 am

Yay Ouwachita !! I need about 100 clues LOL

8:40 am

Well done Ouwachita - you're way ahead of me today

8:40 am

bugzy...Here is a clue for all 100 you need....They are all contained wtihin the grid...lol

8:42 am

Thanks - that makes it SOOO much easier! ;)

8:47 am

clues for the 8's? I did find the 9.

8:47 am

I do have a legit question - are the oo6 and oo7 related to the oo5 somehow? My monkeys aren't finding them...

8:48 am

no....think eskimo

I need the ce 6/27 and de 6/24 please :)

8:50 am

eskimo??????????

8:51 am

angel - the 8s are: sp8 - faster vi8 - something that kills viruses

8:51 am

oo6 and oo7...A large open Inuit or Eskimo boat made of skins stretched on a wooden frame, usually propelled by paddles. The 007 is the plural

8:51 am

thanks for the eskimo clue. and the way to find it on morewords.com

8:52 am

de6/24 is a term for a law or commandment

8:52 am

Thanks Ouwachita ... now we have to know Eskimo words??? Yikes...

8:53 am

By the way take off the e from eskimo and see what you get.

8:53 am

how about a clue for the 9 then?

8:53 am

TY Haz for the sk :)

8:54 am

sp 9 - shaky handwriting can be described as being like an insect. Make this the comparative adjective

8:55 am

did everyone get the "turning on your foot in basketball" and the "chunk of grass that I uproot in golf?"

8:55 am

oh my, this may be one of the ugliest grids i've ever seen

8:55 am

ce 6/27 - add a word that means to tear then add a letter at the top

8:55 am

am i sensing that there's no list today, either?!?!?!?!

8:56 am

Oooh. TY Sushi... I got the basketball one but forgot the golf one !

8:56 am

thanks haz -- great clue for the 9!

thanks haz!

8:57 am

Hi Hurshy. If you know Eskimo, the grid's a snap today !

8:57 am

Glad it worked for you!

8:58 am

And TY Haz for the ce6, too :)

8:58 am

lucky for me i spent a year in a remote alaskan village learning the native language just for this very moment

8:58 am

nobody has answered my question about the list yet, and i'm sort of panicking

8:59 am

We're toying with you.

8:59 am

Yes, there is a list today. Thank goodness :)

8:59 am

Hurshy - do I sense a dependency issue with lists? You can go solo today!

8:59 am

you, haz? i would never have believed it if i hadn't heard it with my own eyes

9:00 am

i've gone solo before - but i like going solo when there is a list better than when there isn't. having a safety net makes it easier to walk that tightrope.

Hello all!

9:00 am

Clue #798 - Te....warm water.

9:01 am

hey tsm

9:02 am

Hi ToeSock :)

Mmmmm creamy vanilla frappuccino! YUM!!

9:05 am

i'll take a hot chocolate, please, with whipped cream, and a sprinkling of cinnamon

9:05 am

Don't forget the cherry on top.

9:05 am

any help with the 8's?

9:06 am

no thank you i don't like cherries

9:07 am

Go ahead Angel... throw us a bone.

9:07 am

sp8 - faster vi8 - something that kills viruses

9:07 am

sp8/45 - a comparative adjective meaning faster vi8/65 - death to viruses

9:09 am

DEATH TO VIRUSES!

9:09 am

Sushi...throw you a bone?

good morning

9:11 am

angel - i think sushi thought you were offering, rather than requesting

9:11 am

someone tell the divi trees in aruba that they aren't a real word. :)

9:11 am

morning bunny

9:11 am

hey bunny! go look at my newest post on BA under General...Announcing a new resource.......

9:11 am

Throwing one a bone i.e. giving us something we can sink our teeth into. Those clues for 8 letter words are a good example - Thanx

Jeez, you've been busy!!

Wow, Angelsong, now I can clear out my favorite places file and just have one spot, that's really nifty! TY!!

9:14 am

I made that page for myself about three days after I found Babble.

9:16 am

Good morning....

Good morning Harp

9:17 am

bunny, I'm offering to make a page like that for anyone here for no cost.

9:17 am

Oops! Got kicked off when 'an error occurred' whilst I was scanning in some pics for today's icon theme.

9:18 am

Hi Bunny Fit1 and Harp... and anyone else I missed while lost in the grid.... :)

9:18 am

Do we need to refresh, Jacula?

TY, but I do pretty well with these things, I sell on ebay and have mastered the riddle of HTML and templates...kinda, lol!!

9:19 am

Haz - Yes. A fave pic of my daughter (now nearly 19) as a baby. Who's got the biggest eyes, her or the squeaky frog? LOL.

Bugzy, super cute boys you have!!

ahhhh, she's cute! I love baby pictures!

9:20 am

Thanks Bunny ! Are those the twins? They are adorable as well :)

No, that's Eycsis and Sahera, they are 9 and 7

9:22 am

Oops .... So hard to see in the little icons ... I love baby/kid pictures too :)

I know, need just a little more space.

MOO!

9:24 am

di6?

9:24 am

Either Toe's got Mad Cow Disease or she's seen 'Moo' in the grid.:-)

9:25 am

di6/24 - more risky.

Both actually

9:25 am

wow, this grid is a lot easier with the list

9:25 am

ah, thanks jac

and I feel like a moo cow with all I have been eating lately! So hard doing for 2 instead of one! LOL

9:26 am

Toes - I asked earlier why one cow can't be 'mooier' than another.:-)

9:26 am

morning all. Beautiful children everyone!! ToeSock, I think you could scan a baby bootie for your icon today :)

9:26 am

y/w, Hurshy.

Oopies! I missed it sorry! Ummmmm why? :)

9:27 am

For 2 Toes?? Does this mean a Baby Toe is on the way ??

9:27 am

not to be technical, but if tsm is pregnant, i'm hoping her body now contains twenty toes in all

Yes I went to the doctor today. It's true... it's for real... it's for sure... It was chatted about yesterday but some of you were not around then

9:27 am

OMG.....I'm so sad :( It's over and I didn't even see it coming. What the ??!!? I want more. Any1 need a clue?

9:28 am

yes, ir6 please

9:28 am

Congratulations, Toes!!! ^^

ROFL! Awww baby toes! How adorable I love baby fingers and toes.... so small and soft :) mmmmm

9:28 am

Build on the second ir4/5

9:29 am

*groan* stupid, stupid hurshy thanks haz

wow, that a2z site is awesome, I'm already on the re's and it's morning! wish I'd checked it out sooner!

Toesock, 20 toes? Twins? I think I'm lost, repairmen just showed up and I had to scurry to hide all the laundry I have scattered about!

9:29 am

TSM - you're lucky you are able to eat. I couldn't eat anything for a while - lost 10lbs during my first three months and was bed-ridden for two weeks and had to be hospitalized for dehydration. I was nauseous my whole pregnancy.

9:30 am

CONGRATS, Toes. Lovely news. Another Babblebabe on the way.:-))))

(((M_Fan))) Thank you darlin! :) Your creative... help me think of a fun name? :)

9:30 am

no no this is how rumors start, oh dear i meant ten toes on one baby plus tsm's own ten

9:31 am

Congrats TSM!!! :D Hope everything goes smoothly for you! (((Toes)))

(((Lupe))) Yeah I am afraid of how bad it could feel

9:31 am

if you want a FUN name, you should go with bozo. bozo was very fun.

9:31 am

lol...I wouldn't trust me with that, Toes! But you'll make such a brilliant mother!

OOPS! Sorry! First trimester is the worst, after that, you can take something for the nausea if it continues. Congratulations!

9:32 am

TSM - sounds like you are fine!!! Hopefully it will be that way until the baby arrives!!

9:32 am

When I had severe nausea with my 2nd, they changed my prenatal vitamin to one that helps with that. Made it all better !!

9:32 am

official protest - mo7 is a ridiculous word

9:32 am

TSM, that's amazing. A new life growing in you. Wow. Lots of love and hugs to you.

I wanted to name Sahera, Amythest and the twins Winter and Whisper, but I got vetoed :(

9:33 am

I was lucky. I didn't have morning sickness during either of my pregnances. My icon is my two fiends dressed as a vampire and a mummy one Hallowe'en now.

9:33 am

Bugzy - I couldn't take any vitamins.... :-(

9:33 am

*or even pregnancies!

OOh, Lupe, that would have been awful. I think th pre natals saved my teeth during the last one, gave me what little energy I had!

9:34 am

Jac - you were blessed!!

9:34 am

hmm, hurshy having trouble with both or's

9:34 am

That stinks Lupe. That vitamin was a lifesaver for me! I had no nausea with my first, so it just floored me !

huge hugs gramma! :)

9:35 am

or plus the almost duck or plus almost duck but change a vowel

9:35 am

bunny, it was awful...... but worth it. The weirdest part is that the minute he came out, I felt the nausea go away!!

9:35 am

Care to give a hint for the mo7, hurshy??

9:35 am

Lupe - Yes. Mind you, my eldest did make up for it by being breech. T'was pretty painful bringing him naturally and with no painkillers.:-( Didn't stop me having a 2nd child though. She was born at home, right way round and it was a breeze.

9:35 am

Hey. I have a great idea....name the baby, " gramma". Then if it's a girl, she won't have to change it when she gets older. ^_^

Toesock, first child?

Ever since I started feeling like a prego I started seeing the world differently. Honestly before I even knew I was preggers, life looked more beautiful... Am I crazy???

Yes my first :)

9:36 am

oh, sure bugzy - more of the prev mo4

9:36 am

OUCH! Jac! You brave woman!!

9:36 am

Mo 4/5 - if it had an adjective, then mo 7 would be the comparative.

9:37 am

Lupe - Stubborn maybe, not sure about brave. LOL.

9:37 am

TSM - it's an amazing experience....

9:37 am

It'll be that way for the rest of your life TSM. You're not crazy, just a mom :)

It's just pregger glow, wait til the poopy diapers kick in!!

9:37 am

haz - what is an almost duck?

9:37 am

ei4/5 is almost ei5

9:38 am

ok, I'm guessing at the theme here ... small children and monkeys? or do small children fit under monkeys, or monkeys under small children?

9:38 am

mind you, I'd think there was something to be said for a baby that at least kicks around a bit and makes it's presence known! When my mum was pregnant with me, I was so quiet they thought I'd be stillborn :/ Scary

9:38 am

OHHHH

9:38 am

LOL Gramma... except if its a boy I think it should be Gramps :)

9:38 am

The 'ducks' are the ones you get down from for an ei*****.

9:39 am

Atlante - my small children act like monkeys all the time!!!

9:39 am

Atalante. LOL. Have you taken your medication today?:-)

9:39 am

TSM, my daughter is moving to Chicago, hopefully. She would like to teach there. She's flying out in March for some interviews. If she gets a job, I'll come out to visit and see my namesake.

9:40 am

ummm ... well I've had some chocolate! that's the best medication!

Lupe, aren't u in Chicago?

9:40 am

Today's theme (for MrPres) is 'Gorgeous Children (yours, you, someone special to you)'.

9:41 am

*tosses hair* my mum says I'm cool! XD

9:41 am

although mine is just some random kid i found on the web, since i have none, don't want 'em, don't like 'em

9:41 am

errrr .... I can honestly say I don't know any gorgeous children!!!! I'll stick with my doggy - he was gorgeous. and only a young pup. near enough, hopefully

9:41 am

Just found that mo7. It IS a stupid word! (But not as stupid as the sp9.)

9:41 am

By the way - TSM never go to a loud action movie when you are close to your due date..... the sound scared my son to the point that I thought I was going to go into labor. The loud sounds started him - I had to cover my belly with my and my then-husband's coats to muffle the sound. LOL

9:42 am

Yes Bunny....

There you go gramma, Lupe can be the Babble welcoming party for your daughter! (Not volunteering you.....)

9:43 am

Sounds like a plan bunny!!

9:43 am

Yes, TY for the mo7. It is silly. But i think the silliest words are the oo6 and oo7. (no offense to any Eskimos)

9:44 am

Lupe - my son used to start head-butting my diaphragm about 20 mins before lunchtime when I was still at work. In fact, with him being breech, it was bruised for about 3 weeks after his birth.

9:44 am

ok, in the first trio of re 6's, i have when the waters fall back as well as wedding re****ion, what's the other?

9:44 am

the oo's may SOUND silly, but the concept of mo7 is much more silly

9:44 am

I'm nervous about her moving so far away and living in a city. It's really nice to know you guys are there.

9:44 am

You might need one of these to make a cake/dish

9:44 am

re6/24 - what you use to guide you when cooking.

9:45 am

Jac - again OUCH!! The best was when he'd get the hiccups! It's hysterical.

9:45 am

wow, i AM dense today

9:45 am

Lupe - Yes, that does feel funny!

9:46 am

brrr...you're scaring me off having any of my own when I'm older!

9:46 am

Lupe - Quite amusing when the unborn babe kicks your partner in the back, too.:-)

9:47 am

Atalante, your dogs count ! I went to that webpage you listed yesterday (or day before) and saw the photo of Holly sleeping -- she is so darling and so is today's icon.

9:47 am

LOL jac!

Oh no, being pregnant is the most amazing feeling, especially when they start moving around.

9:47 am

Miya - We're remembering these times with affection. It's the best experience ever,

9:47 am

Finished! - staggers over line, falls flat on face, gasping for breath..

9:47 am

Okay, Mothers....No more horror stories about pregnancy and/ or birth. I have 5 children, no 2 alike, but all delightful. Let's keep happy thoughts. ^_^

9:47 am

spellit...congrats!

Woo Hoo spellit!

9:47 am

Yay Spellit!

9:48 am

Well done, Spellit! Here, have a coffee and one of Macadam's shortbreads...

9:48 am

Nothing to fear Miya - it really is the best experience!!

9:48 am

WTG, spellit!

9:48 am

All this talk about babies - we have a new granddaughter arriving in less than 14 days now...

9:48 am

Gramma - I didn't think they were horror stories??

9:48 am

I'm with you, gramma. When I found out I was pregnant (30+years ago) I decided to have a wonderful time, and I did! :)

9:49 am

me either - gramma - I love remembering the entire experience..... truth be told, giving birth was the easy part! Raising him has been the challenge!!

9:49 am

I,too, enjoyed both my pregnancies.

9:50 am

lol...all I know is that it's bad enough when I get hiccups, let alone something inside of me! ^^ Congratulations, Spellit!

9:50 am

my coworkers wife (he is a babbler, though he hasnt been babbling in a while and rarely used the chatlog anyway) is due to have their baby any moment now! her due date was yesterday...hehe

9:50 am

congratulation on the new baby spellit!

They are scary if you haven't been through it... I was terrified when I was pregnant with Eycsis, my first. Of course, my mother in law used to be a delivery nurse...the stories I was told! Sheesh!!!

9:50 am

I rather enjoyed being pregnant too! Everyone's so nice to you :D Spellit , congrats again in advance for the new grandbaby :)

9:50 am

Miya - When your unborn babe gets hiccups it tickles. It's a grinworthy experience.

9:50 am

yeah, miya - it seems like something out of star trek to me - this life form is growing inside your body - aaaaahhhhh!

9:50 am

Jac, you're right. They're not all horror stories.

9:51 am

Don't worry Hurshy - it's OK as long as it doesn't burst out of your chest!

9:51 am

Hmmm, 'grinworthy'.... now what would that score in the grid?

9:52 am

i think i'd prefer my chest to where it does burst out

9:52 am

Spellit! YUK! She's not expecing an alien. LOL.

9:52 am

scary, Hurshy! like a leeeeech...:/ Jac, it sounds really weird! what if you both had hiccups at the same time?

9:52 am

evanadine, gorgeous baby! And bunnyvicious, I really like that name -- Eycsis. What is that? Were you thinking of Isis or does it mean something in a certain language?

9:52 am

lmao Hurshy!!!

9:52 am

It's surreal - I knew I was pregnant, prepared for him, but when the nurse/doctor told me it was time I looked at her and said, "I'm sorry I can't do this...." they looked at me like I was crazy. I think that was the point when I realized I was going to be a mom.

9:53 am

I must stop watching Outer Limits

9:53 am

ch1212 -- thanks, its my gorgeous nephew! none of my own, just yet -- *tap wood*

Ch, it's the same as Isis, just spelled funky, all of our kids have mythological or celestail names.

9:54 am

Off for a coffee - see you later

I first heard the name on Married with Children, didn't realize til later that it was the name of Bud's blow up doll, but we conceal that little tid bit of information!

9:55 am

bunny -- what are the other names?

9:55 am

Well, before we start contemplating any gruesome stories of damage to outcoming exits for babies, I need to go and sort some laundry and empty the rubbish etc. BBL.

9:55 am

Wow, bunny! I wanted to name my daughter Andromeda Peace and Sunshine, but my family put their foot down, so her name is Autumn. Guess you could figure out the era she was born and what I was doing at the time :D

9:56 am

there! icon is all babied up XD I've kept my little j-rock theme by just putting up a baby picture of one of my favourite rockers! ^^

Eycsis Corrine, Dreyvin Asche, Sahera Serene, Twylah Leigh, and Skylah Kaye

9:56 am

oh, you brits have been holding out on us - why have i never heard this lovely sp4/8 word before?

9:56 am

Bye Spellit and Jacula !

9:57 am

The word was used extensively during the Second World to describe black marketeers.

9:57 am

my ex-husband and I could not agree on a name - one day we were at a stop light and I looked at a poster promoting a party - the DJ's name was Julian "jumpin" Perez. I suggested the name Julian and that's what we named him. It was a sad day when my son asked me how he got my name and I told him I got it from a poster.....

9:57 am

Second World War, I mean.

I like Andromeda, but it reminds me of that book about the deadly virus, lol!

9:57 am

i like it

9:58 am

Skylah's a nice name! My daughter's middle name (one of them) is Layla. Really going now. Peeling fingers away from keyboard... leaving room... BLIP!

9:58 am

Bye Jac.

9:58 am

i dont have any children yet, though i have already chosen a few names...hehe... My first wil be either Eva or Evan, depending if its a girl or boy. Eva Marcelle or Evan Wylie i also really like Genevieve for a girl (and much, MUCH later came to find out it was my mother's mother's name -- she passed when my mom was just 16) and i like Soren for a boy -- but i know ill get vetoed on that one! hehe

My name is Brandy and my husband's is Stephen, we wanted the kiddos to have memorable names. I went to scholl with 18 Brandy's!

9:59 am

I'll bet you're still lurking jacula :)

9:59 am

No, I'm not!

9:59 am

:-)

LOL! BYE JAC!

10:00 am

Sadly, I just know my first child (if I have children) will end up called 'Spanky'...there really is just no way around it

Soren and Wylie, those are great!

that could cause problems in high school!

10:00 am

Eva Marcelle (Marcel is my dads middle name) Evan Wylie (Wylie is my moms maiden name)

10:00 am

Miya - Just be sure not to marry a bloke whose surname is 'Bottom'! GONE!

10:01 am

I didn't choose a name for either of my kids until after they were born.... Had to look at them to see what name fit them!

10:01 am

I can imagine, though, Bunny, that the children will get fed up constantly having to spell out their names. The French government have a policy of only allowing people to register a limited number of approved names, thus preserving the 'purity' of names. You are no doubt glad to be in the 'Land of the Free.'!

10:01 am

i love the name Soren, but the BF has already kindly pointed out that all the boys on the playground will call him Sore-End

When the twins were little, we called the "pooh bear", then it got shortened to "pooh", and since there are two, "pooh pooh's". When I need to get their attention in a hurry, it POOPS!, imagine the looks I get.

10:01 am

well, soren is the evil villain in star trek: generations, who ends up causing captain kirk's death, so i don't know about that one

10:02 am

hurshy -- i was thinking more along the lines of Kirkeguard. ;)

10:02 am

LOL eva....

Haz, that's an interseting bit of info, seems odd. I'm glad we are then! You're right about the spellings though, half our family doesn't even get them right.

10:02 am

lmao Spanky Bottom! I won't be able to marry anyone else now XD ...having said that, I know a teacher called Mr Bottoms...he's about 300 stone and constantly covered in grease...he looks like a toad! Except, he lacks the toad's sense of humour/decency/SMELL

10:02 am

well sure, but just wanted you to be informed

10:03 am

That's why both my kids have short, easy names Haz. I have a long, complicated German last name (which lends itself to bad nicknames) so I wanted to make it a little easier for them!!

10:03 am

yes, hurshy, and I thought you were doing a different spelling of Sauron from Lord of the Rings

10:03 am

lol my dear mother - all the way through her pregnancy she thought I was a boy, so she had fixed on Daniel as a name. Then I was a girl, so she chose Rebecca because it was the first girl's name she could think of *facepalm*

10:03 am

Lupe I have a niece named after a tug boat - Emma Sophia

10:04 am

at least the tugboat wasn't named blinky or something

10:04 am

atalante, I've seen Holly's photo and she's gorgeous -- who is this one?

10:04 am

LOL - My aunt had a dog named Cindy who died right before I was born... I always kid my mom that she named me after the dog!!!

10:04 am

vi 5/16

One of my old school friends named their boy Maximus Renegade John...

10:05 am

well, I've just changed my pic back to Holly lol, but the orange creature is Jake, a cocker we had a few years ago. Totally silly and fluffy and cuddly little creature!

10:06 am

My grandson who is due to arrive in 24 days will be named Harrison Edward - my son and daughter-in-law wanted him to have an uncommon first name they both went to school with a ton of Jennifers and Michaels

10:06 am

yeah, just need vi 5/16 and vi 6/30 and i'll be done

10:06 am

lol Hurshy! XD If I have a boy I fear I won't be able to stop myself calling him 'Pata'

the vi 5/16 rhymes with another word for sound system, ste***

10:07 am

i had a friend when i was younger who was CONVINCED she was going to name her son Ian Malachai *wonders if she ever did*

10:08 am

and is 1 letter different from the things you record TV / films on

10:08 am

why what's "pata"? when i got my first cat i tried to name her pepper. but i just kept saying "mitten kitten, mitten kitten" because it rhymed. so that became her name. when i got two more kittens, i was afraid they would all end up being called mitten! but they didn't.

10:08 am

I'm now in to geneology and would use old family names if I was naming children today

10:08 am

thanks bunny, atalante

BRB, gotta stick on some laundry and run through a load of dshes real quick

10:09 am

hurshy - "pata" is another word for foot in spanish...not sure of Miya's meaning....

10:09 am

btw atalante - i didn't even bother trying to be like you today - got the list after finding just 85

10:09 am

aaah, gotta go...*rolls eyes* sister has to do coursework. See you later, and congrats for Toes once more! (if she's still here...is she?)

10:09 am

LOL Evanadine. I remember my friend in high school who said her kids would be Javi and Jazi (no matter if they were boys/girls)...

10:10 am

Bugzy - we call my brother Javi (short for Javier)....

10:10 am

I really don't want children, but if I did, I'd want a son - for one reason - the family name for boys is Lancelot, and has been for centuries. Now, I couldnt break that tradition, could I? *evil grin*

10:10 am

one of my college friends wanted to have kids named waukegan and wasabe

10:11 am

Bye Miyavi and Bunny :) Doll - I do genealogy too. I named my first Joseph bc both my/ my husband's great grandfathers had that name (or variations)

10:11 am

ok, who's going to be hurshy's new favorite person and give me that last clue i need - vi 6/30???

10:12 am

viri... viro... virm...

10:12 am

Atalante, I knew a Lancelot and it was really his middle name. His FIRST name was (true!) Darling. Darling Lancelot. (And his mother wondered why he had so many problems!) He has a cousin named Valiant Christian.

10:12 am

But you pronounce Javi the Spanish way, right Lupe? She was going to pronounce the J as a J !

10:12 am

ha, got it without you, you meanies!

10:13 am

ow ow ow! poor kids!

10:13 am

oh DEAR, ch1212

10:13 am

i have come across some very "interesting" girls names from teaching my dance classes...so i dont think id ever name my children anything TOO strange... but i do like older names that arent used very often...

10:13 am

now you can give all of us a clue, Hurshy!

10:13 am

Lupe, my daddy nicknamed my second son "Chapi or Chapito". Any meaning there?

10:13 am

i think it is nicer to give your kids names that are not totally boring like sue or whatever, but also that people will recognize and know how to spell, saving constant work.

10:14 am

you know we really do have to think before we chose names for our kids

10:14 am

ok, the clue is - pllllllt! jk. vi 6/30 - ends like what data is on star trek.

10:14 am

i have class now, so i must away

10:15 am

I used to teach in a school just south of Atlanta. The names were so crazy that I sometimes copied the absentee list and jokingly sent it to my adult children as suggestions for names for my future grandchildren.

10:15 am

I can't see bl***y annoying in there! *ponders*

10:15 am

have fun chatting, since nobody seems to be babbling much :)

10:15 am

I'm right behind you, hurshy -- gotta run too. Adios all.

10:16 am

bye Hurshy and ch1212 :)

10:16 am

or c3po and r2d2 if you prefer star wars

10:16 am

Munner that is too funny

10:18 am

Gratefully, none of them took it seriously. I just returned from a trip out west to meet my newest grandchild, a beautiful little girl named Hannah. The other seven are Bridger, Aiden, Abigail, Isabel, Gabriel, Trey, and Toby.

10:18 am

this year, i teach a LaRay, Darby, Jikaela, Dainayjah, Z'ane, Demi, Smartha, and a Shae'La...

10:19 am

evanadine, sounds like some of those North Clayton students moved to your area. :)

10:19 am

are they Vulcans?

10:20 am

hi :) Today's my first day of babbling...only just realized that, to use the log, I have to first go down to the bottom of the page!

10:20 am

I truly understand wanting your child to be unique but some of the names people make up are a bit much

10:20 am

My husband worked with a guy who's daughter's name is Dantasia

10:21 am

We pronounce the J like a H as in the word "have" Not sure of any meaning behind those names munner...

10:21 am

Hi Lemoned :) Welcome to the Babble neighborhood!

10:21 am

"a rose is a rose is a rose....."

10:22 am

^^ thank you!

10:22 am

I'm thinking I did well with William, Martin, Katharine and Sean

10:23 am

*thinks back to last year* i had an Ekan, Isarah, Jaia, Zuri, Dyllan (female)...some of them i just cant remember, but they were creative too...heh

10:23 am

Mine are Simon, Claire, Jon, and Tim (originally Jonathan and Timothy but shortened by the boys)

10:23 am

any children I have must be given names my parents can pronounce in spanish.

10:24 am

That's what I thought Lupe :) Doll - I love those names. I would have named a girl Katharine. :)

10:24 am

i had a student nabed "Coke " what were his parents on?

10:24 am

My son says his little one will be called either Harrison or Harris but I think grandma is going to call him Harry

10:24 am

coke? lol

10:25 am

LOL Onyx!! At least it wasn't Meth!!

10:25 am

Hey gang, how goes it?

10:25 am

My friend knows a man called Holdyn Acok...poor, poor man!

10:26 am

hi smith!! How are you??

10:26 am

I have a niece who named her daughter Pepsi

10:26 am

I always liked the name Kate for a girl and she's usually called Kate or Katie but I always felt one must have a proper name

10:26 am

My boys are Joe (Joseph) and Ryan ... just FYI Hi Smithchick :)

10:26 am

my grand ma named the poodle pepsi!!!

10:26 am

Hi Smithchick

10:27 am

I'm good. Kind of wondering about the current topic of conversation! Guess I'm gonna need to read back through the log!

10:28 am

there's a 9 letter word out there?

10:28 am

I think Coke should get together with Pepsi ... I would have done Kate or Katie, also, but had the proper name of Katharine. Just love that name... sigh...

10:28 am

Names for children is the topic - think it's because of the baby topic from yesterday

10:29 am

Coke and Pepsi would have 7 up starts!

10:30 am

Bugzy I chose Katharine when I read an article on Katharine Hepburn while I was pregnant with my daughter - figured she'd be a good role model

10:30 am

my son was Raphael till the day he was born but when we saw him we changed it... we did not wanrt people anglicizing it and calling him ralph.

10:33 am

Hi all, here is my daughter Monica. Picked the name Monica Lynn because it rolled off the tongue well "Monica Lynn where have you been!" was planning ahead for these teenage years....

10:33 am

Katharine Hepburn, yes, also I was reading Katharine Graham's memoir while I was pregnant. Both good role models .

She's a pretty girl Schro

10:34 am

LOL Schroeder - Thats what they say to do, see which names sound good when you're yelling them!

10:34 am

i have a friend named Rafael but he goes by Raf

10:35 am

BTW she's lovely Schroeder :)

10:35 am

yes Schroeder she's beautiful

10:36 am

Thanks, luckily she's a good teenager so far, I haven't had to do much yelling, except when I get brave enough to look under her bed

10:36 am

it's a good name. i wonder if it would confuse him if i started calling him rafael now.....

10:36 am

Bunches of beautiful children! I need technical assistance to get my beautiful children on here. What size does the picture need to be? I'm techno-challenged.

10:37 am

i had a friend whose moms name was Vicki. not short for Victoria, since her parents figured "we are always gonna call her Vicki, so why not just name her that?" yeah, until she had to send back her college diploma because the school assumed her name was really Victoria + put the wrong name on it!

10:37 am

well i'm about half done but really should be getting some work done here so I'm off for a bit - see you all later byeee

10:38 am

Bye, doll:)

10:38 am

smithchick -- i open my pics in Paint and keep resizing them until they are about 50 x 50 pixels

10:38 am

Bye Doll

10:38 am

bye, Doll

10:39 am

Thanks, evanadine. I'll try that. Be right back!

10:39 am

I'm back for a bit. I don't think you should have to explain it or spell it. Just good basic names. We have Greg, John ,Dan, Matt and Margaret.

10:40 am

smith, pics automatically resize down to an appropriate level when you upload them. it helps if they are square-ish though

10:40 am

I like names with a meaning. I love the name Sakura for that very reason :)

Here are twins!

10:41 am

lemoned, what does it mean?

10:42 am

cherry blossom

10:42 am

TY

10:42 am

It's a Japanese name that literally means 'cherry blossoms'...very pretty!

10:43 am

Bunny they are adorable!!!! I was just going to ask if you were giving equal time to all the children

10:43 am

Bye Doll And they're so cute Bunny! :)

still gotta post the boy!!

10:44 am

woo...thanks Atalante, I needn't have bothered ^^ I'm lazy!

10:46 am

its a beautiful name!

10:47 am

Well, nothing is working. I have to wait for my technical adviser to come home before I can post Timothy, Samantha and Sydney.

10:49 am

we used to sing a song in elementary school called Sakura...i always used to associate the word with that song... until a japanese steakhouse/sushi chain opened up in my area under the same name...now thats all i can think of...hehe... mmmmmmmmmm.... .........sushi............

10:49 am

My children are really not just one big, giant, black blob. They're really very colorful children, I promise! I wish I could post Trey (my oldest that died) but he was before the time of digital cameras. I'll have to see if hubby can show me how to scan a picture of him.

10:50 am

mmm, sushi indeed *licks lips* Unfortunately, I know a song with the word 'sakura' in the title...now whenever I think of the name, I get that song in my head!

10:51 am

*sings to self* "Sakura, Sakura, Yayo ino sorawa"

10:52 am

Lupe are you still there? You need to go pro just so we can see pics of your pair of boys!

10:53 am

lol Evanadine, what song is that? Mine's called 304 goushitsu, hakushi no sakura

10:54 am

O_O it beeped me!

10:55 am

smith - just peeked back in..... I have only one boy --- can you imagine if I had two???

10:56 am

Oh, for some reason I thought you had two. Sorry about that. Remind me how old your boy is and what his name is. I'm too lazy to read through all of the old posts!:)

10:56 am

thats the song we sang in elementary shool...hehe

10:58 am

That's ok!! His name is Julian he just turned 11 on Feb 12.

10:58 am

Let's see. I know that bunny has five (hence the viciousness) and it looks like Schroeder has one beautiful daughter. Evana has a beautiful baby (just one?), Bugzy has two cutey patootie boys. What about everyone else?

10:59 am

heh, actually, i have NONE. this gorgeous specimen is my lovely nephew. :D

10:59 am

My guy is 9 months, Brayden

10:59 am

None. Phew. Just a dog and a kitten!

11:00 am

I like the name Julian. Timothy is going to be 14 in July. Samantha just turned 11 on Jan. 26 and Sydney just turned 8 on Jan. 8.

11:00 am

speaking of babies - anyone heard from Grey??? I don't get to babble too much in the evenings/weekends - and I know he was starting a new job and would not be on during the day.

11:00 am

lol Evanadine...I doubt they'd sing my version of the song in a school!

11:00 am

Brayden is a doll! So is your nephew, evana! That is such a fun age!

11:01 am

smith - a friend of mine just had a little girl about three weeks ago. They let their older (7 yr old) name her - she chose the name Samantha.

11:01 am

I'm having a bad eye day and I just see a pooch in the picture, Atalante. What does your kitty look like?

grey was on a day or two ago, seemed busy and preoccupied, but said everything was going good.

11:01 am

grniz- HOW ADORABLE!!

11:02 am

thx bunny....

11:02 am

Just popped back for a moment and my new picture is from almost 4 years ago - the 3 guys are mine Billy, Marty and Sean l-r and the young lady with the flowered dress is my Katie

11:02 am

Samantha is a fantabulous name!! *points to self* :D

11:03 am

He is crawling all over the place. I also have 7 dogs too which are my babies. Brayden has fun trying to get them or their food and chew bones.

11:03 am

my kitten has her own web gallery - by popular demand from friends lol - http://silver-claws.deviantart .com/gallery/

11:03 am

GreyWoulf was on this morning. If you scroll back through the log you should find it. Sebastians in hospital atm

11:03 am

If I ever have children, I have an awful feelling I'd call the poor child Santa. boy OR girl

11:04 am

11:11 am

Jera your children look so smart!

11:11 am

Hi folks. I'm back to find my last 22 words before I have to start making dinner.

11:12 am

Thanks caitlyn... you mean the glasses?

It's about time for our family photos again, but I'm waiting til Twy's bangs grow back a little more, she went chopper on us!

11:13 am

No Jera...I mean lovely looking!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

11:14 am

I wish we had room for bigger pictures on here for us blind people! I can't see your well, jacula...

11:14 am

Hi again Jac - Just realized it' s lunchtime. Must go find food. BBL

11:15 am

We've had a few of those chopper incidents, too. Samantha was my budding hairdresser. Evana, are you a Samantha too! That is one of my absolute favorite names. Hubby didn't get any input at all on that one!

I better get for a bit, packages to mail, maybe a bit of shopping...tee hee!

11:16 am

Bye, bugzy!

11:16 am

smithchick..What is your baby called???????

11:16 am

Ahhh... smart as in spiffy, gotcha! That was their semi-annual formal portrait. For my son formal = favorite, so he's wearing a wolf shirt & camo pants (he'd live in them if I let him).

11:16 am

Big black blob with an dumb, techno-challenged mother!!!

11:16 am

Later bunny lol

11:17 am

Bye Bugzy and Bunny

11:17 am

Catch you later, bunny!

11:17 am

vi8... when germs kill themselves, ROTFLMAO...

11:17 am

lol Smithchick! You can't be as bad as me...I once managed to turn off a computer when trying to open a window in my ICT classroom!

11:18 am

Oops, lemoned. That would be bad for the image. LOL

11:19 am

Now you've got me searching, jera. Must be good. I could use a good laugh!

11:19 am

eeeh...trust me, it was :/ my teacher just gave me this look like "poor, sad child"

11:21 am

...I used the excuse that I couldn't speak English at the time! sometimes looking foreign is handy...though English was hard to learn!

11:21 am

Well, now I need vitals, LEMONed. I'm very nosy...

11:22 am

And me!!!!!!!!!!!!

11:22 am

lol! ask anything, my life's an open book *cheesy* ...just hopefully, a book in a language I've fully learnt!

11:23 am

smithchick, you're looking a bit blank today... and dark... or do I need to refresh??

11:24 am

Nope, jera. It's me. Waiting for hubby's assistance in posting my pic of my beautiful children!!! Right now, they're rather non...

11:25 am

Alright, LEMONed. You asked for it. Where are you at and where are you from? How old, do you have children, etc.....

11:25 am

Found the ov7 at last! Sounds like eggs doing themselves in.:-)

11:25 am

Good morning, everyone.

11:26 am

Hi cybernan

11:26 am

Ohhh, how cute, cybernan!

11:26 am

Blimey, Smithchick. No one expects..... the Spanish Inquisition. Sorry! Went a bit Monty Python there.

nonny - you there?

11:27 am

Hi Cybernan and anyone else I've missed.

11:27 am

ooookay, here goes! right now, I'm in England I'm from Japan I'm 15, so... no kids just yet!

11:28 am

Hey, I distinctly recall reading the words "open book"!!

11:29 am

Well, I woud hope not LEMONed!!! Now my curiousity is satisfied. Learning new languages always sparks it, as I only know one.

11:29 am

Hello, siamese lady!

11:30 am

Young'un's are quite welcome here... keeps us oldsters on our toes!

11:30 am

well hello, all!!! such happy, wonderful pictures!!!! today is by far, the CUTEST day ever!!!

11:30 am

Hi all. Took a little longer to return than I thought. Greg surprised me and took me out to lunch. Jac are you still here? I thought of a new song.

11:31 am

Im feeling REALLY old,Welcome LEMON

11:31 am

welcome, Lemoned!!!

11:32 am

Thanks for the ov7 clue. I was driving myself crazy earlier looking for it.

11:32 am

er...sorry to sound ignorant, but I'm really not too good with all your English expressions! what does keeping someone on their toes mean?

11:33 am

Watcha!!! : )

11:33 am

warai! thank you! *takes bow*

11:34 am

Hiya Adsman

11:34 am

Hello musicmom and smaller. How do I make your pictures bigger so I can see them? All I can see of smaller's is a crib. Can't make out features really well on yours, music...

11:34 am

Ignorance is okay... stupidity is much harder to deal with... "On one's toes" means ready for anything, like standing tall for a fight or physical challenge... here we mean it mentally/figuatively...

11:34 am

Hey, adsman!

11:34 am

MM - Yes, still here. Was just concentrating on the grid as I did plenty of nattering earlier. LOL.

11:34 am

hey Caitlyn.. : ) hows is one and all

11:34 am

hey Adsman!!!

11:34 am

*is sad she missed Jacula's nattering*

11:34 am

I wasn't sure how to do it either smith. I played with the sizing a little but I didn't do very good.

11:35 am

{{{musicmom}}} *gives Girl Scout sign*

11:35 am

hey smithchick!! i have no idea either. i just like this one b/c his feet are dangling out while he's sleeping

11:36 am

You know Adam Ant's song "Goody Two Shoes?" I'm working on "Goody Two Clues". I'll let you know when it is posted.

11:36 am

oh! thanks, Jera! I had a few odd mental images there :) Languages aren't my strong point...luckily my friends help teach me!

11:36 am

Back again, darn phone....

11:36 am

I jumped onto Toe sock monkey's web site and couldn't get out. Da** computers! Beautiful girl.

11:36 am

{{{{Jera}}}}} back at ya! I ought to figure out how to ascii the girl scout sign.

11:37 am

Hey Tink! Is that your little girl? She's sooo grown up!! And soo pretty!!

11:37 am

Thanks, MM.:-) Jera - The nattering's still there if you scroll back on the log.

11:38 am

(today's lesson was 'the definition of a "tard"')

11:39 am

Lemoned - I bet that was a fun one to learn;)

11:39 am

Jacula, is that your little one?

11:39 am

And the definition is lemoned?

11:39 am

Thanks Smaller, yes that's my baby all grown up now at 14....

11:40 am

Adsman, stick an -re in front of it...apparently it's school slang

11:41 am

LEMONed, how long have you been in England?

11:41 am

Musicmom...it certainly made a lot clearer, anyway!

11:41 am

Schroeder she is very pretty ,You must be very proud!! I think todays theme is great!!!

11:42 am

* wishes he could post a picture of his little girl*

11:43 am

Thanks caitlyn, I am. I'm pretty luck she's a good kid overall. *pictures what Adsman's daughter looks like*

11:43 am

I'll be back I'm playing with icons.

11:43 am

Smaller - It's my daughter when she was little. She's 19 next month. She's sitting here with me smiling now.:-)

11:44 am

About six months now...almost :) It's so beautiful here...but really cold :)

11:44 am

Hi Jaculas daughter.....

11:45 am

*smiles & waves @ Jacula's daughter*

11:45 am

Very cute Jac. Refresh and tell me if this picture is better. if it is, I'll fix the one of the girls.

11:45 am

think 3, with blonde hair and pig tails Shro : )

11:46 am

Caitlyn - She's coughed and whimpered in reply. (She's a 'pporly baby' at the moment.)

11:46 am

Jacula, wow! 19!! I look at my 2year old, and can't imagine him NOT needing me to wipe his bottom and cut his food into smaller bites. Wow! I bet she can even say a sentence without "Momma" in it.

11:46 am

She's adorable Adsman :)

11:46 am

Great pic, musicmom!!

11:47 am

Yep Smaller. They get there eventually. My oldest is 11 now. Hard to believe. I can't imagine her at 19 either.

11:47 am

Thanks Shro : ) lol

11:47 am

LEMONed- WOW! You must have learned quite a bit of English in Japan then. You are doing great!!!

11:47 am

Thanks that's me on the right and Sarah on the left being silly. I'll go and see if I can resize the one of the two girls.

11:47 am

Poorthing..still its cold outside so she is better off in the warm reading this nonsense get well soon !

11:48 am

Smaller, don't worry no matter how old they are they still need Mom sometimes, just for things funner than bum wiping...

11:48 am

Smaller - My daughter says to tell you that she's a bigger baby now she's 19 than she ever was when she was a baby. (She stills says 'Momma', too!) :-)))

11:48 am

missing just one c, c6/27?

11:49 am

LOL Jacula, So if you're gone for a few minutes, we'll know you went to wipe her bottom!

11:49 am

Smaller - ROFLOL (both of us).

11:50 am

Tink, THANKS!! It's encouragement like that which helps through the tantrums. although i've heard teenage tantrums become legendary

11:50 am

Thanks Smaller, but I wouldn't say so myself! I made a fool of myself today because the teacher asked me to write something on the board and I had a mental block...started writing in the characters I was used to!

11:50 am

wohoo ive just found some West country tipple on the grid. * pours himself a glass*

11:50 am

c6/27 - a variant of 'serif' (A fine line finishing off the main strokes of a letter, as at the top and bottom of M.)

11:50 am

Here's one more of the girls. They both have red eyes in this shot. BTW, Jera - beautiful children! All of oru kids are the best I've even seen:-))

11:52 am

Jacula, Don't laugh too hard or you'll both have to change each other. !!!! LEMONed- how did you come up with "LEMONed"?

11:52 am

Smithchick. I cropped just the part of the picture I wanted before I loaded it to my desk top. Does that help?

11:52 am

I still say Momma & I'm 37 with my Momma nearly 8 years dead...

11:53 am

one of my favourite singers has a song called 'LEMONed I scream'! Once I learnt what a lemon was, I found it strange...but it works for me!

11:54 am

musicmom that is a lovely photo...

11:54 am

LOL LEMON-ed, every day is fascinating!!! Babble should help. Well, maybe. Some of the words NO ONE uses.

11:55 am

Thanks Caitlyn. That's a wonderful little girl you have as well.

11:55 am

(Though my real name is Takumi...not a whole lot to do with lemons ^^)

11:55 am

LOL, Smaller. That might be truer than you imagine...

11:56 am

schro -- 14 isnt all grown up...you just feel like she is, and she just wishes she were! but in my late 20s, i need my parents more now than i ever thought i did then!

11:57 am

LOL, that's why I joined, to help with my English! I write better than I speak, which I suppose is helpful. Hardly anyone understands my English when I speak it!

11:57 am

Well, hubby came home and was no help because he is in a hurry to go plant 500 pine trees. Sheesh, as though pictures of our kids on babble isn't more important!

11:57 am

Jacula, There is a .....transition age...isn't there?! Dang it. Oh but we're FAAARRRRR from that age, of course.

11:57 am

lemoned -- where are you from?

11:58 am

LEMON-ed, quite coincidental, that no one understands when we use Babble words. So think of it as yet another language!!!

11:58 am

I'm from Japan - Kyoto :)

11:59 am

Heeeheee smitchchick. They just don't understand do they?

11:59 am

It's true evanadine she not all grown up yet and believe me I tell her that all the time. It's just hard to think that in a few years she will be going away.... :(

11:59 am

Smaller, I'm confuse already!

12:00 pm

oh yay! we dont get many people from the asian nations here at babble, so it will be interesting to learn some stuff about your part of the world. :) lots of us are from the US or England, so we share customs and differences all the time

12:00 pm

LEMON-ed, don't worry! so are we most days!!!

12:00 pm

I think it's mainly my bad accent though - that, and I never get tenses and grammar right! Please, if I make mistake, correct me! ^^

12:01 pm

yknow what though schro? i was a complete terror to my poor mother until i left home...it wasnt unti college that i realized how integral she is to my life... im still a terror, but i also tell her a lot more how much i appreciate her. ;)

12:01 pm

Thanks Eva! :) That's such a welcome thing to say, I feel very special now! Smaller, warai! So do I help you with English, or do you help me? XD

12:02 pm

Evan - that sounds like me. Now that I have two daughters of my own - I realize what a horror I was to raise. I'm hoping the same realization hits mine as they grow:-)

12:02 pm

Well folks. I've just found my last word, a 'vi' I should have spotted, since it's on my bank card! Sorry to cut and run but my ex has just arrived to visit the kids and I'd like to hear more about his recent holiday in The Maldives, and also Paul will be home shortly hungry for dinner. Must get busy with the pasta etc. Happy Babbling!

12:02 pm

lemoned -- so many people who "speak" english dont even use correct grammar, and many dont even know which is correct anyway! i know im guilty of omitting punctuation + capitalization all the time when i type...hehe

bye, jacs! hi, everyone!

12:02 pm

Bye Jac - Have a wonderful visit.

9 letter word hints? anyone?

12:03 pm

Wow, Congratulate, Jacula! Evanadine, omit all the punctuation you like when you talk to me...I will not notice the difference!

12:04 pm

Hi Temple

12:04 pm

um...should that be 'congratulate' or 'congratulations'? *blushes* feel free to stamp on me when I becoming too much :)

hey toes!

12:05 pm

Toe - try more of an eight legged creature.

12:05 pm

Bye Jacula, Hi Temple, Congrats TSM!

12:05 pm

Hi, Temple and Bye Jacula. Congratulations!!

12:05 pm

"congratulate" is the verb, "congratulations" is what you say to the person. :)

12:06 pm

oops! Thank you, Evanadine! I will get these right someday :)

hey smith. musicmom. caitlyn, schroeder, ischult, jera, smaller, eva n, smith, lemoned...

thank you musicmom!

did i mention how much i've come to hate the letters r and e ?

12:08 pm

Well, here's a little picture of them.

12:08 pm

You and me both TO - I have nightmares about them.

12:09 pm

Smith - I can see them. Very cute!

12:09 pm

72 Temple Owl...personally, I'm hate the letters T and H...put together I just can't pronounce them, no matter how hard I try :) I think it's a conspiracy

12:09 pm

lemoned -- youre doing pretty well if youre already working on words like "congratulate"! i took like 4 years of french, and i wouldnt even call myself at all functional in the language!

Temple! ROFL!

12:09 pm

How sweet, smithchick!

12:10 pm

HI Temple!!! LOL LEMON-ed and evanadine!!!!

ki 4/8 - I want one! :) ol

lol. lemoned... this gird i hate ce even more!!!!

12:11 pm

aw cute, Smith!

12:11 pm

lemoend -- not to mention that really, theres 2 different "th" sounds... if its at the front of the word, its harder, and if its at the end of the words, its softer... i think every language has sounds like that -- if youre just not used to making that type of sound, it takes a lot of practice for it to feel natural...

12:11 pm

I am having trouble concentrating today... they are puting in new water lines & I have a huge backhoe about 5 feet away from me (no front yard for me this week)!

12:11 pm

Evanadine, I'm have a good day today! Also, I have to be practise English all the time, or nobody understands!

12:12 pm

Jera - a friend of mine is having the same thing done today. Not fun!

LOL Lemon! LOL

12:12 pm

well, if we get to judge, id say we all think youre doing very well!

12:13 pm

Thanks, jera and musicmom. It's a crying shame that this picture is almost two years old and we don't have a decent current one to use.

12:14 pm

LEMONed........I think you are doing REALLY well be proud of yourself.

12:14 pm

Any help on the ai words?

lemoned: what's your native language?

12:14 pm

*brain falls out* there are 2 different sounds?! ooooh dear...so far I keep say 'th' and 's'...I attracted a lot of very strange looks when I told someone I'd forgotten how to say someSing...

12:14 pm

Thanks, too atalante. LEMONed, I think you're doing great too.

12:15 pm

I was in the same boat ubtil very recently... our last family portrait is Gwyd's 2nd Yule. He's 15 months in that one & almost 4 1/2 in this one!

12:15 pm

Thank you so much, Caitlyn! That's great for me to hear, you just don't know how much of a relief that is! 72 Temple Owl, I'm from Japan, so my native language is Japanese. A lot less confuse than English, I think!

12:16 pm

hahahaha lemon - not from my perspective

12:16 pm

2 ai's relate to what we breathe...

12:16 pm

Thank you, Smithchick! I am hope Babble will help to fine-tune my English (is that right?)

12:16 pm

well, lemoned, dont feel bad -- its actually quite common for asian people just learning english to have trouble with the "th" sound, since its just not a sound you make in your own languages. we used to have japanese exchange students when i was younger, and my name, samantha, usually became "samansa" we usually know what you mean. ;)

12:16 pm

hey lemoned - nice to meet you - been reading a bit of the log and am entertained by you.

12:17 pm

Oh, sorry... those are the only 2 ai's... I was about to hint around the other a's, LOL

wow lemoned - i'll say ! Has anyone seen miyavi_fan lately?

12:17 pm

I'm with you, musicmom. My father speaks some Japanese from when he was in the Air Force, but it is mostly swear words and words a man might need to seduce women.

12:17 pm

yes, fine-tune is right

12:17 pm

miya was here this morning

12:17 pm

TO -- she was on earlier, but i think we scared her away with our earlier baby-name talk...hehe

12:18 pm

Funny how soldiers seem to be well-versed in those types of words... in most all languages, LOL!

12:18 pm

That's good to hear...Samansa :D Thank you, Hurshy, it's nice to meet you too! I was worry I would not be so welcome here, since everyone else would be so good at English, but you have all made me feel so welcome! Thank you :)

12:18 pm

lemoned - the reason we're talking about miyavi_fan is because she loves japanese rock music

12:18 pm

Hey, hurshy. Yes, LEMONed. Just leave off the am.

i was thinking it might be nice to introduce lemoned and miyavi to one another....

12:19 pm

Where is miyavi located?

12:19 pm

TO -- i was thinking the same thing myself. :)

12:19 pm

miya is in england

12:19 pm

Wow, there's another person who likes j-rock around?! I am lucky! Is Miyavi_fan Japanese too?

12:19 pm

Thanks for the help on the ai --- that was tough for me to find for some reason.

12:20 pm

Temple i was just thinking the same thing..great minds!!!!

12:20 pm

ah, my question was answer before I ask it!

12:20 pm

no, miyavi_fan is english, but she speaks some japanese (i think just from listening to the music)

12:20 pm

Hello everyone - I'm back and ready to tackle this grid. I started earlier but had to get showered and run to the mall but I'm ready to pounce on it now.

12:20 pm

I wish I could remember more Japanese! I worked there for a few months in Tokyo several years ago. All I can remember is "sakana no kasaki (kaseki?)" see - I can't even remember how to spell things!

12:20 pm

That 3 letter ending for the ai6 comes in quite handy for the longer words in this grid, musicmom!

12:20 pm

We're all on the same track. Didn't miyavi just have a birthday and turn 14?

12:21 pm

yes, and now that miya is a grand 14 she doesn't have as much time for us :)

12:21 pm

Thanks Jera - I'll keep that in mind. This is a pain today.

12:21 pm

Hey, faerie! How are you?

12:21 pm

I find it interest that one of the first English words I hear were 'beer'!

12:21 pm

there are also a couple of ic's and oid's, musicmom

12:21 pm

All the Japanese I know is hello, good-bye, Sakura, & counting to 5. I may actually know more, but I don't put much faith in the accuracy of Pokemon & other anime cartoons!

12:22 pm

which reminds me...i just heard my first Dir en Gray song the other day... i quite liked the melody...just wish i understood the words!

12:22 pm

hurshy she has a boyfriend now doesnt she?

12:22 pm

Thanks Hurshy. That helps too.

12:22 pm

Smith - Hi! I'm great. How are you dear?

12:22 pm

yes, and i believe he gave her a necklace or something for the birthday

12:22 pm

Evanadine, I am a massive Dir en Grey fan! Which song did you hear? Maybe I can help translate :)

12:23 pm

Hi Faerie - I missed you coming in. Brb.

12:23 pm

I'm excellent right now! My mom finally finished her house and hubby is home for two weeks.:) Hursy, who is that beautiful little girl?

12:23 pm

not sure...i think it may have been called "Final"

12:23 pm

WOW! LEMONed, you and Miyavi_Fan are like twins!!

12:24 pm

You need to put in a picture of your pseudo-son!

12:24 pm

Are we talking about Miyavi? I love talking about people when they aren't around to dispute what you say lol. So she got a necklace for her b-day huh....She's a smart gal she'll be ok - I hope.

12:24 pm

dunno, smithchick - found her on the web. i don't have kids and am not really close to any - i have a couple of nieces and a nephew (by marriage) but didn't have any pics of them on the computer

12:25 pm

Aa...The Final? I'm not quite sure how many of the words translate, but it is a very sad song :(

12:25 pm

MM- (((((((x))))))) Hi! How goes it?

12:25 pm

oh, smith, that's a good thought, but i also don't have any pics of him on the computer - and i guess he doesn't count as a child anymore since he turned 18 last month

12:25 pm

lemoned -- may we ask how old you are? and are you a male or female?

12:25 pm

Hurshy, you may not have given birth to any kids, but you are mothering one!

12:25 pm

I'm back. Smith it's great to hear that your mom finished her house.

12:25 pm

warai, Smaller! I'll be interest to meet her! She seems to have left an impression on you all!

12:25 pm

really? the melody sounded fairly upbeat... but then, i guess with sad lyrics, it could have just been very powerful...

12:26 pm

:) thanks smith, i appreciate the support. anyway, he'd be really embarrassed if i put up a pic of him.

12:26 pm

Of course, Evanadine! I am 15 year old, and a boy :) With a name like Takumi, I would have to be!

12:26 pm

Smith - I'm sure your happy to have your hubby home (for a while anyhow) *_*

12:27 pm

LEMONed without telling us to much what part of England are you living in?

12:27 pm

so, lemoned, what can we call you for short? do you prefer lemon, or ed, or tak?

12:27 pm

lol caitlyn - he's in japan

12:27 pm

any clues for the ai 5/10 I got the 6/18. Please and Thank You:)

12:27 pm

Things are good Faerie - I feel much much better today. And Greg took me to the Chinese buffet for lunch YUM!

12:27 pm

Yes, musicmom. It's a relief. The appraiser came yesterday. Her house looks better than it has looked in years. My 24 yr. old bro. left for a couple of months for a job in Florida. It's just her and my dad so she should be able to keep it nice for a change. :)

12:28 pm

Fairie, just drop your second -to-last vowel.

12:28 pm

Aa, now here is where my bad geography make an entrance...I know I am fairly near London, just a little North

12:28 pm

faerie - drop the second i

12:28 pm

warai Hurshy, call me whatever you want!

12:28 pm

Ty :)

12:28 pm

oh, wait, did i get confused? lemoned, you are from japan but living in england now?

12:29 pm

LEMONed Miyavi also lives just north of London !!!

12:29 pm

MM-chinese yummmmmm-you must be feeling a bit better then. So glad to hear it.

12:29 pm

yes :) I move here nearly six month ago...the worst thing was the time difference!

12:29 pm

we had a japanese american student here at our school who graduated last year. his name was takuro and we called him tak.

12:30 pm

should miya's boyfriend be worried?

12:30 pm

oh my, we might have to do some babble-match-making!! ;D

12:31 pm

yes I am better. Now if I can just stay that way.

12:31 pm

Maybe hurshy Maybe !!!!!!!!

12:31 pm

Matchmaking is always fun!!

12:31 pm

but one hates to break up an existing couple

12:31 pm

wow! If I can look up a word, then I'll be able to say... it's an amaze coincidence! (is that right?)

12:32 pm

amazing

12:32 pm

I dont think we would do that !!

12:32 pm

an amazing coincidence Lemoned

12:32 pm

Aa, almost there! Thank you, Hurshy! :)

12:33 pm

how much do you want us to correct your english, lemon? every time you make a mistake, or only when you ask?

12:33 pm

Okay. I'm lurking for the next half hour. Want to get as many words as I can before I have to go teach.

12:33 pm

MM-are those your girls? Who ever they are they are adorable. As a matter of fact, all the children are beautiful. Children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews.....

12:33 pm

No, break-ups. But we could help create a beautiful friendship! Besides, they are young yet. Who knows what will happen in a week or a month.

12:33 pm

And thank you, Tigereye! You are all so helping! (helpful?)

12:34 pm

Yep Faerie - Sarah is 11 and Hannah is 5.

12:34 pm

true, smithchick - but... do you remember a cosby show episode where denise tried to help in vanessa's love life...?

12:34 pm

helpful

12:34 pm

Hurshy, feel free to correct whenever it starts to annoy you! Since it help my English along, it is handy!

12:35 pm

Almost the same spread as mine, musicmom... Sprite is nearly 10 & Gwyd is 4 1/2.

12:35 pm

wow...it look like, without even meet a person, I have made a friend!

12:35 pm

it doesn't annoy me, i just wondered how much correcting you want, and how much would get annoying for YOU ;)

12:35 pm

mostly it's your verb endings that seem to be giving you trouble, lemon

12:36 pm

so funny, musicmom, i know a pair of sisters who are named sarah and hannah, and about that far apart in age, but they are just 7 years ahead of your girls

12:36 pm

LEMONed, You've made tons of friends!!!!

12:36 pm

LEMONed tonight you have made a lot of friends!!

12:37 pm

I don't remember that one, hurshy. Of course, it's been years since I watched Cosby. My kids and hubby hog the TV. I get to watch Desperate Housewives (of which I am one) and Grey's Anatomy on Sunday. That is about it.

12:37 pm

yes...verb ending and tenses :/ I'm use to there being hardly any variate on verbs...English has so many!

12:37 pm

yes, and i think we should tell babbler to set up a lemon-themed icon day ASAP in honor of our new friend.

12:37 pm

thank you all so much! You have made me feel so welcome! :)

12:37 pm

That is funny Hurshy. We thought we were avoiding popular names when we named both of them. But, in the years they were born they were the most popular names. We didn't know anyone naming their children that.

12:37 pm

I second that motion.

12:38 pm

(variation)

12:38 pm

and (used to)

12:39 pm

Hannah's a very popular name here(England) I think there were six of us in my year at secondary school

12:39 pm

babbler usually reads the log, i think, but if someone sees her, maybe mention it.

12:39 pm

*slaps head* variation...er, er, I knew that really. I was just testing you ;) ...or that is my excuse!

12:39 pm

Hurshy-I second the motion on lemon day....

12:39 pm

yes, i saw that you did faerie, thank you :)

12:39 pm

My internet connection is really playing up so im going now happy babbling all catch you tomorrow lolx

12:39 pm

Is Babbler some kind of leader?

12:40 pm

Bye, caitlyn!

12:40 pm

I wanted Hannah for Sarah but Greg didn't like it. Then when we had her 6 years later - he picked it. I really wanted one of them to be Lydia but he absolutely hated that name. Don't know why.

12:40 pm

Oh ok---just checking to see if you were paying attention...:)

12:40 pm

warai! thank you!

12:40 pm

I'm not a very good lurker;(

12:40 pm

Caitlyn - later..

may i have clues please for the pi 5 and pi7?

12:40 pm

Bye Caitlyn

12:40 pm

babbler is the president of our social club, and she keeps track of our icon themes. (the pictures we have under our names). today's theme is children.

12:40 pm

See you late, Caitlyn! Thanks for making me feel so welcome :)

12:41 pm

(later)

12:41 pm

I told my husband as soon as he went through 12-30 hours of labor, he could name the child whatever he wanted.:)

12:41 pm

Babbler (the screen name) is just another player...she just sort of heads-up the unofficial themes for the icons we display. we also use the word "babbler" to refer to anyone who plays the game. :)

12:41 pm

oh...it looks like I have to go, as well! Well, I will definitely be back now! Thank you all so much :)

12:41 pm

pi5 - friends fan? picture ross, rachel, and chandler trying to get ross's new couch up the stairs, and ross yelling...

12:41 pm

Pi5 what you do on one foot in basketball. the 7 is past tense.

12:42 pm

Any help on the oo words?

12:42 pm

Bye, LEMONed. It was nice meeting you! Come back soon!

12:42 pm

goodbye, lemon! look forward to seeing you again!

12:42 pm

Lem-Hi, I'm faerie and I sprinkle faerie dust on the grid to bring the words out so we can all see them. *sprinkle*sprinkle*spri nkle now maybe I will find the stupid "ci" words....

thanks, musicmom! since i have the di5 and 6 - i deserve a LARGE fish.....

12:42 pm

Lem-See Ya.

12:43 pm

ci5 is "real", ci4 isn't

12:43 pm

AUGH I had missed the di 6 - we can share the fish

bye lemoned!

12:43 pm

the first two oo's are an eskimo word - some kind of kayak the other comes up now and then in babble... add... a kind of marble bread but change the y to i

12:44 pm

HAHA!! hurshy -- i LOVED that episode!

12:44 pm

that pi5 moment is one of my favorite scenes from friends ever.

12:45 pm

12:45 pm

12:50 pm

I think he did, jera. I was wondering the same thing.

12:50 pm

anybody ever have a word accepted that doesn't give you any points? ce****** 8 letters but no points?

12:51 pm

online dictionary report: warai: laugh, laughter, smile

12:51 pm

yes, sassy, that means your computer had a glitch, it isn't really a word, and you need to refresh to get rid of it.

12:51 pm

you have to refresh sf : it is usually an error

12:51 pm

Hey, sassyfrau. Hasn't happened to me that I know of. Thanks, hurshy!

12:52 pm

thanks!

12:52 pm

so now we know that lemon smiles a lot :)

1:00 pm

1:00 pm

why did you say excuse me?

1:01 pm

hurshy -- why did you say "excuse me" ?

1:01 pm

well i was going to claim that all the tuesday trouncing and tickling had made me produce a tuesday toot.

1:01 pm

Hi guys! : )

Hello, speedfreak. Hi again, LEMONed!

1:11 pm

Hi speed - thos OOs use all the letters in the first column Just put the i near the end...then plural for the 7 : )

1:11 pm

Speed - how's it going? Good race Sunday huh? Jimmie J. did a fantastic job for his team.

1:11 pm

1:13 pm

Hi, nice to meet you too! :)

1:13 pm

Hello Lemon just read back thru the log, very addictive game, great people and lots of fun though so welcome

1:13 pm

(it is great to be so welcomed!)

1:13 pm

Could I get a clue for the last sp7? sp7/36...

1:14 pm

Speed - me too. Tony had one of the fastest cars on the track. I was starting to think he might take the race but ..... too many wrecks.

1:14 pm

Hey Lemon : ) Run away while you can lol

1:14 pm

Never mind, just got it.

1:14 pm

thanks, Speedfreak! though I will have to betray my bad english again...what is 'thru'?

1:15 pm

Anj, it's already too late!

1:15 pm

Abbreviation of through

1:15 pm

Aa...thanks! I didn't think I recognize it...

1:15 pm

I'm having a complete mental block over the V's! : /

1:15 pm

Lemon should have spelled it correctly for you through meaning read back over the log

1:16 pm

OK, welcome to the Babbleverse then Lemon : )

1:18 pm

Don't worry about it! it's probably better I get the hang of abbreviate first! Thanks, Anj! Everyone here is so welcoming :)

1:21 pm

(abbreviations)

1:21 pm

the v's do rather stink.

1:22 pm

oops...I will get the hang of this one day! Thank you!

1:22 pm

(recognized) from before

1:22 pm

i've appointed myself lemon's english tutor, so anything in parentheses is a correction for him :)

1:22 pm

Or even recognised as she's in England :p

1:23 pm

seriously, lemon, you're very good already. just helping you polish it up a bit. but if you get sick of it, feel free to tell me to knock it off.

1:23 pm

He even

1:23 pm

again, thank you! I emailed a friend tonight with some of the help you gave...hopefully this time they will be able to understand me!

1:23 pm

true tiger but he used a z so i stuck with that

1:23 pm

I would not get sick of it, it helps a lot!

1:24 pm

I'm very grateful :) (and I think that's right)

1:24 pm

it is :)

1:24 pm

warai, at last! ^^

1:24 pm

It is indeed :) and we dont' mind at all. I'm sure your English is far far better than my Japanese will ever be

1:25 pm

Ooh, my turn to ask a question...what does 'warai' mean lemon? : )

1:26 pm

the thing is (just to explain my behavior) i've noticed with some of the foreign students here that our attitude tends to be, as long as we know what they mean, it's good enough. and for those who really want to improve, if we don't correct their errors, they get really frustrated.

1:26 pm

hola lola!

1:27 pm

Hey evaN! How you doing? : )

1:28 pm

Thanks Tigereye! :) It's only because it's the only language I can be understood with now! Lola, I keep meaned to not type that! Warai is like...slang for smile, a bit like lol, I think.

1:28 pm

can someone help with the second sp7/36 not the one to make food hotter

1:28 pm

(meaning) and we like the warai, don't stop.

1:29 pm

speedfreak, ends like what C3PO and R2D2 are

1:29 pm

speedfreak... It has the same four letters as the word before it and the last three are the same last letters of a breath mint in a little tin box.

1:30 pm

Oh, I like it lemon, don't stop! : )

1:31 pm

Thank you, I will carry on then! Oh, and...it is a strange thing to ask, but what do you call this day? I embarrass myself today by writing the characters kayobi in the date (in my English book, no less...)

1:31 pm

soon we'll all be saying warai

1:32 pm

you mean tuesday?

1:32 pm

obi-wan kiyobi? *grins*

1:32 pm

(embarrassed)

1:32 pm

Tuesday! Thank you! ^^;

1:33 pm

warai Atalante! Obi-wan Tuesday :)

1:34 pm

everything reminds me of Star Wars at the moment - I'm having a SW drawing phase

1:34 pm

Glad to see you're back LEMONed!!! anyone have a clue for the vi8?

1:35 pm

thank you, Smaller! ^^ (I feel special!)

1:35 pm

Vi8 Death to viruses

1:36 pm

DEATH TO VIRUSES!

1:36 pm

i just can't help myself. every time someone says it, i want to take up the rallying cry.

1:36 pm

man, it just took me 10 minutes to make my cubucle capable of letting me plug in a lamp...heh

1:36 pm

(cubicle)

1:36 pm

while we are on the v's my last one is the vi6/30 keep monkey typing to no avail

1:37 pm

lol! I got it from that... : )

1:37 pm

thanks tigereye and hurshy!! as you should, LEMONed!!! did you see my lemony icon!!! Has if officially changed to lemon day yet?

1:37 pm

speedfreak - i repeat my clue for the sp7 you wanted before

1:37 pm

lol...thanks hurshy. i know english, i just cant type it...hehe

1:38 pm

oh, i didn't think we were going to make TODAY lemon day - but a day in the near future. to give us time to prepare.

1:38 pm

Thanks so much hurshy two more t's and I am done hubby getting impatient to go out!!!

1:38 pm

sorry eva, just got going and couldn't stop

1:39 pm

warai, Smaller! As the song go..."it's a lemon, lemon, LEMONed I scream!"

DONE! thanks for the clues guys!

1:41 pm

Speed, the vi6/30 ends in R2D2 and C3PO again : )

1:41 pm

Done also :D

1:42 pm

congratulate! The thought of finishing makes me feel dizzy...

1:42 pm

Congrats, TO and Tiger!!!

1:42 pm

Right with you Temple All Done .... sorry for not sticking around to help with clues but hubby and I are taking my Mom out to eat, it is her anniv. (first one w/o dad) we are trying to keep her from getting depressed Bye All!!

1:42 pm

Yay! Well done temple and tigereye! : )

1:42 pm

oh no, I did that earlier! CongratulatIONS!

1:42 pm

Anj? Will you come pick me up in that hat on Friday?? ; )

1:42 pm

bai, Speedfreak! Good luck with cheering her up :)

1:43 pm

Yay Speed & T-Owl : )

1:43 pm

Yay! Wel done speed! : )

1:43 pm

Lo, I don't have a fedora : / ..only ever seen them in Edinburgh...well, decent ones that is : )

1:44 pm

(goes) (bye)?

1:45 pm

*blushes* sorry...I wasn't sure how to spell it, and 'bai' just made sense to me! ^^;

1:45 pm

or did you mean bai, is it a japanese word?

1:45 pm

the goes is from before - as the song goes

1:46 pm

i don't really understand the song though :)

1:47 pm

we sometimes use bai, but I thought since it was almost~ english, it would be spelt the same way...warai, I should stick to sayonara, perhaps!

yay tigereye, speed!

1:48 pm

we do know sayonara :)

1:49 pm

Hurshy, I do not think anybody understands the song...before I came here, the lyrics made no sense to me! :)

1:49 pm

by the way, lemon, you can say "spelt" but it's a little old-fashioned (or perhaps i should say sophisticated). the ordinary way to say that would be spelled.

1:50 pm

Back again -- been through the log and Brandyjack's list and down to 9 words with which I am struggling... ce 6/27?

1:50 pm

personally, i like spelt. but not that many people use it.

1:50 pm

Down to one- ce6/27. Any help would be much appreciated! I have to get off of here and act busy in the house or hubby will make me plant trees! The horror!!!

1:51 pm

ce 6/27 a funny way to spell either a kind of angel or the little feet that may or may not appear on letters, depending on the font

1:51 pm

oops...when people say it, they make it sound like spelt! thank you!

1:51 pm

wow, smith and cyber are really in sync

1:51 pm

...the siren song of Arsenal vs. Real Madrid is a-callin' me folks... BBL : )

1:52 pm

british people probably do make it sound like spelt. they're sophisticated. in america it sounds like spelled.

1:52 pm

warai...have fun, Anj!

1:52 pm

Later babe : )

1:52 pm

Bye, anj!

1:53 pm

Oh well...I was halfway there! arigato, Hurshy-sensei! ^^

night, anj!

1:53 pm

what's arigato?

got to go - happy babbling to all! see you tomorrow!

1:54 pm

you understand, lemon, that spelt is not wrong. right?

1:54 pm

'bye temple : )

1:54 pm

Thank you, hurshy!!! Done! Off to do housework. Beats planting trees in 30-something degree weather, anyway!

1:54 pm

bye temple!

1:55 pm

CAN you plant trees in 30 degree weather? isn't the ground frozen?

1:55 pm

arigato - thank you. I think. LOL. domo arigato = thanks a lot.

1:55 pm

arigato is thank you...though I should have remember my manners and said arigato-gozaimasu :/

1:55 pm

(remembered)

1:56 pm

go atalante! and, you're welcome, lemon :)

1:56 pm

aa, that's it...thank you! Atalante, I'm impressed...do you speak some Japanese?

1:56 pm

So it's actually 41 degrees. So I exaggerated a little, so what!!!

1:57 pm

Thank you Hurshy. oo 6 & 7?

1:57 pm

Bye Temple!

1:57 pm

a bit ... I worked in Tokyo for a few months and learnt a bit during that time!

1:58 pm

lol smith oo6 - eskimo word - some kind of kayak

2:00 pm

hmm, so maybe this is just british - atalante, do you guys tend to use a lot of those - "learnt" "spelt" "spilt" "spoilt" still? i thought they were more dickens-era spellings.

2:00 pm

Tokyo! wow, that must have been difficult...the few times I ventur from Kyoto to Tokyo, it was quite intimidating!

2:01 pm

(ventured) (and ventur doesn't exist at all, it would be venture)

2:01 pm

but hey, lemon, if you can use "must have been" correctly like that, you're really not so bad at verb tenses.

2:02 pm

hurshy - I'll confuse you. We use both. Learnt and learned are equally ok. Though I would say that language is going towards the -ed rather than the -t - which is more old-fashioned

2:03 pm

evening all :D

2:03 pm

I'm new. How long did it take any of you to get the hang of playing this properly? I don't quite know what is expected of me. I know the letters must abut one another...

2:03 pm

Thanks again, Hurshy ov 7? (didn't get any help from previous clues)

2:03 pm

I really wanted to get to Kyoto - but we only went to Tokyo and Niigata. I was working at the National Museum of Science - a wonderful place!

2:03 pm

Well, does anybody need any clues before I go?

2:04 pm

Sherb, what a beauty!! ov7. If you had this, you wouldn't need spermi****

2:05 pm

atalante - basically what i had told lemon, then. ok.

2:06 pm

thanks smithchick :D ...my goddaughter, Marina...

2:06 pm

lodestar - you could start with the babble rules at the top right of the webpage :)

2:06 pm

thank you, smithchick... vi 5/16?

2:06 pm

it takes some people longer than others to "get the hang of it", i suppose. if you're used to playing boggle, it's not as bad. but you do have to start learning a lot of weird little words.

2:07 pm

vi 5/16 you might rent a movie on vi***, change middle letter

2:08 pm

vi 5/16- the thing you view with a different middle consonant.

2:10 pm

If you mean to change the second to last vowel -- I tried that -- "not valid" Also tried changing the second consonant -- also "not valid"

2:10 pm

Did that Hurshy. I understand the basic basics. I was looking for guidance from a human who knows some inside tips.

2:10 pm

Well, gotta go. Hubby just called and needs a beverage brought to him because he is thirsty from planting 500 pine trees in 41 degree weather! Be back tomorrow. Keep up the good work, LEMONed!

2:10 pm

got it!

2:11 pm

'bye smithchick : )

2:11 pm

Just here for a second - Sherb, your goddaughter is beautiful. Smithchick seems to be in a dark place today. Hi hurshsy! Haven't seen you in awhile.

2:12 pm

oh, well, lodestar, you should also check out babblers anonymous. the first post under general gives us statistics for each day. but also, today, angelsong posted a new website with all the babble resources grouped on it - it's the post with a smiley next to it, so you could check that out.

2:12 pm

lode - click on "babblers anonymous" at the right. from there, click on "general" then "Announcing a new Babble resource... " theres a link in there that will be VERY helpful!

2:12 pm

hi mab, nice to see you. :) cats all fine?

2:13 pm

Oh, evana, that picture has to be of you - it looks just like you. Is it?

2:13 pm

Hi mab! Need a hug? : )

2:13 pm

ce5/12 and the ce6/21 right after it, clues please?

2:14 pm

Cats are well, thank you. My car won't start, but the cats are fine.

2:14 pm

ce 4/5, please -- the last one?

2:14 pm

oh...excuse me if I was ignoring anybody! My computer had what my friends call a brain fart :/

2:14 pm

((((lola)))))

2:14 pm

mab -- actually, its my nephew...hehe

2:15 pm

hi lodestar :D ...in terms of tips, it depends what you want to get out of the game... you can just play for fun and the chat, or play to improve your ranking, or both... practice helps, because there are some words we don't use in everyday language that come up quite often in Babble... and there are aids such as a2zwordfinder.com, and morewords.com when you get stuck... and of course the clues in the log... but avive all, have fun :D

2:15 pm

Never mind -- was taking the wrong path.

2:15 pm

mab, at least you have a car.... mine was stolen last week. The cops found it but it was so badly damaged that I had to scrap it. Back to walking for a while : /

2:15 pm

Really! I see a resemblance. Anyway, he's adorable.

2:16 pm

i agree. ;) ive actually had several people ask him if hes mine -- i have a photo of him on my desk, and one of my coworkers was like "wait, when were you pregnant?!"

2:16 pm

(((((mab))))) : )

2:16 pm

hi mab :D

2:17 pm

the funny thing is that he looks more like his mother than his father -- and his father is my brother! but i resemble my sis-in-law more than my own brother...hehe...people ask if we are sisters...

2:18 pm

s 7/36?

2:18 pm

ce4/5 - An edible fish of western Atlantic waters

2:18 pm

Hi Folks ! Back for my last few...

2:18 pm

Lola, your car was steal? That's awful! Did they catch the people who steal it?

2:19 pm

(stolen) (stole)

I'm baaaack....

2:19 pm

That's terrible, Lola! How shocking and distressing. i'm so sorry. Out here in nowhere I don't know what I would do without a car. I'm so grateful I have it. I am about to schlep to the supermarket now. That's awful, your car stolen!

2:19 pm

Hi bugzy : )

2:19 pm

ce 5/12 - ends like julie andrews' char from sound of music

2:20 pm

lol, lemon, i love that you know the term "brain fart"

2:20 pm

sp 7/36?

2:20 pm

hi Bugzy and bunny... and hurshy and lola :D

2:21 pm

cnan - ends like what C3PO and R2D2 are (or have i given you that clue already to no avail?)

2:21 pm

Hey Lola ... that's awful about your car :/ Hi Sherb... adorable baby :)

2:21 pm

hi sherb. have you met lemon?

2:21 pm

Hurshy-sensei, it seems to be essential in my school!

2:21 pm

mab, fortunately the public transport is good in the UK so I can still get around. In fact, the toddler and I caught the bus to nursery instead of walking this morning because it was raining. I do miss my little red banger though : /

2:22 pm

Jullie Andrew's CHAR? ...now that's an obscure fact... ;)

Cyber - sp + more frozen (think Mexican food)

2:22 pm

everyone who hasn't met lemon should know that he is a 15-year old boy recently transplanted from japan to england, and he's very nice. and warai is like lol.

2:22 pm

hurshy -- I'm not getting the ce5/12 clue... Julie Andrews' char??

2:22 pm

sorry, char was short for character

2:22 pm

Hi again Bunny :)

2:23 pm

Thank you Hurshy --- that's me finished now. Will grab a cuppa and be back for a bit.

2:23 pm

hi LEMONed... welcome to Babble :D

2:23 pm

warai, thank you for the introduction! ^^ I'm not really nice, I just don't know enough English to insult you yet!

2:23 pm

Hey sherb! : )

Hello again! Welcom and howdy Lemon, glad to have ya!!

2:24 pm

Aha... that makes more sense. I was thinking maybe you meant "chart", like scale, so I was trying things ending in DO, RE, MI, etc. LOL

2:24 pm

well, if you're not nice, then we definitely won't set you up with miyavi_fan, even if she does break up with her boyfriend.

2:24 pm

don't worry lemon, we look forward to being insulted just as soon as you learn the right words ;)

2:24 pm

There might be a little pause for a minute here, so you may not be able to enter words. We'll be back to normal soon.

2:24 pm

hurshy, that was an obscure clue, but I got it. thanx.

2:24 pm

yay for cybernan!

2:24 pm

i only learned "brain fart" the other day myself, lemon.

2:24 pm

Never mind. Already done. :)

2:24 pm

Thanks Sherb, Bunnyvicious! :) Hurshy-sensei, I don't think her boyfriend would appreciation that!

2:25 pm

*Appreciate! right?

2:25 pm

wow, you are fast, doc.

2:25 pm

That was painless. Thank you good doctor.

2:25 pm

ooh, I blinked and I missed it... hi Dr_G :D

2:25 pm

right, lemon, good catch!

2:25 pm

warai, Hurshy-sensei...definitely a useful phrase

2:26 pm

4:15 pm

(definition) and no, lemon, you probably don't have the definition wrong - it was a joke.

4:15 pm

Hi Lemon!! (I've forgotten how to say hi in Japanese. Is it arigato?) : )

4:15 pm

...everything's going awfully slow again : /

4:16 pm

konnichi wa everyone!!

4:16 pm

babbler - so yeah, we need to schedule a lemon theme day.

4:16 pm

arigato was "thank you", right lemon?

4:17 pm

done - 2nd April! :)

4:19 pm

Anj, my list is all very organised .... pancake day is scheduled... ; )

4:19 pm

warai...take out your notebooks! komban wa is good evening and hai is yes :)

4:20 pm

pancakes, mmmm. Welcome back dear Babbler. You've been so missed. You are well? I must admit, I found your toothbrushing accident funny, but it must have been serious for you to be away so long. I hope that all is better now.

4:20 pm

what does warai mean? komban wa, Lemon! : )

4:20 pm

warai is LOL

4:20 pm

bunny, did you get the or's? 1 ends like the butt inflammation + e

4:21 pm

(((Mab!!!)) lol!! it surprised me too!! :D my shoulder is much better thanks. *sigh* it's good to be back! :D xxx

4:21 pm

toothbrushing accident? please detail.

4:22 pm

hurshy, weeeelll..... I was brushing my teeth, leaning over the basin, and it was a really cold morning, and I needed to cough, so I did.... and something weird happened to my shoulder at the back and I was in utter agony. Pulled a muscle! :o !

4:23 pm

Hajimete ome ni kakarimasu. Dozo yoru-shiku! Aa, ogenki des ka?

4:23 pm

oh, i hate when weird things like that happen. poor babbler.

thanks Smaller!!

4:24 pm

lemon? has your universal translator been confiscated?

4:24 pm

*sobs piteously because she cannot post*

4:24 pm

thanks Mab, hurshy : ) xxx

4:24 pm

kakarimisu, mmmm. Oh wait its tiramisu. Never mind.

4:24 pm

That must have hurt! Though, I remember when I break my leg, and it didn't hurt at all...it was only when it was odd angle that I thought there may be something wrong!

missing one re6/24 and the re7--maybe they're related?

4:25 pm

thank sherby!!!!

4:25 pm

tiramisu.....*lola drools*

4:25 pm

Hurshy, I think I just wanted to typ something I recognize!

4:25 pm

4:26 pm

errrk! Lemon! That sounds horrible!

4:26 pm

*strolls nekkid through the chatlog, just to see if anyone notices*

4:26 pm

evanadine!

4:26 pm

*covers eyes* : O !!

4:26 pm

evening all can anyone please give me a clue for the last de 4/5

4:26 pm

LOL evanadine!! what a cute baby bottom

4:27 pm

ahh, glad to see im not invisible. ;)

4:27 pm

i'm shocked! i can't believe you would purposely spell "naked" wrong around our new friend lemon who is trying to learn proper english.

4:27 pm

Evana! Really! It isn't nude day!

EVA!! Shave those legs!!

4:27 pm

ruthy, anagram of one of your other de4/5 (Bambi's Mum)

4:27 pm

...woot?

4:27 pm

de4/5 - doh! a misspelled de--

4:27 pm

ty babbler

4:28 pm

Bunny, your almost twins are beautiful (saw much earlier photo too).

4:28 pm

oh...so...it DID mean naked O_O; I was scare it did...

4:28 pm

warai, vicuna!! and babbler - why bambi's mum? why not just bambi?

4:28 pm

wow bunny -- you could see it from that far away?? hehe so sorry hurshy *bows head in shame*

4:28 pm

Anj??

4:28 pm

outnumbered, not sure yet

4:28 pm

how u doing sha

4:28 pm

(scared)

4:29 pm

Babbler, belief it or not, it seem funny at the time :/ It show what kind of a sense of humor I have...

4:29 pm

*waves hands wildly* Can anybody see me?? Don't make me get naked...

4:29 pm

*blushes* thank you, Hurshy-sensei! ^^

4:29 pm

(believe) (seemed) (shows)

4:30 pm

Lo? Just flapping about... HI JERA!!! I can see yooooooo! : D

4:30 pm

hurshy..... pls forgive me.... I'm out of practice with the old clue-giving! lol! :)

4:30 pm

*grins* thank you, thank you and thank you! ^^

TY Mab

4:30 pm

yes jera, we see you. we saw you sobbing before, but since you had posted (ironically), we thought you would stop and everything would be ok.

4:30 pm

I see you Jera *waves back*

4:31 pm

Jera!!!! I see you!! lol! or should I say warai! :D

4:31 pm

i need 66 words ruthy u?

smaller--thanks, I thought maybe the request got buried. I'll come back to them.

4:31 pm

*hands over eyes* i cant see you jera!! youre invisible!!

4:31 pm

well of course it doesn't matter, babbler dear, but i was just curious if psychologically female deer seem more like deer to you than male deer

4:31 pm

Anj, did you get my text? : )

4:32 pm

hurshy!!!!! even I wouldn't post words in the log, even after being out of practice for so long!! :o !!!

4:32 pm

Whew!! *buttons blouse up again* That was a close one...

4:32 pm

Because Bambi was a young buck, yes? But that would make his mother a doe. You;re right, hurshy, as usual. They are both de4. What would we do without you (I hope never to find out).

4:32 pm

*waves hands* Jera, you are all a yuuuuumeeee...

4:32 pm

...did I just say yume?! ^^; I meant dream...

4:32 pm

warai at myself - i was so not thinking! sorry :)

4:33 pm

my point exactly, and thank you, mab.

4:33 pm

For awhile there I was afraid I was in the spirit world (Young Guns, anyone?)!!

4:33 pm

54

4:33 pm

bunny, did you get the other or. sounds kinda like alrighty

4:34 pm

warai, lemon, i thought you were saying jera was "yummy" - meaning she tastes good.

Yup, like the potato...

4:34 pm

Jera, what a nice portrait of your gorgeous kids.

4:34 pm

that's a really bad clue but ....well..it's smaller clue

4:34 pm

Now on to business... I need one more re6/24... I have 2 dealing with more scoops of ice cream...

4:34 pm

yay bunny

4:34 pm

Thanks, mab! It's a defense mechanism, you know...

4:35 pm

jera - scarlet not-bottom

4:35 pm

warai! I did not know I had typed it until I realized the word 'dream' has no 'y' in it... though I am sure Jera is this yummy word

4:35 pm

*is very confused but feels slightly complimented*

4:36 pm

the only trouble, lemon, is that usually food is "yummy". if you call a person "yummy", it can often have sexual connotations.

I think the've gone too far...sp 9!! And the death to ovaries one...

4:36 pm

bunny - what about mo7??? that one is nuts.

4:36 pm

Lo, just replied : )

4:36 pm

I especially like vi8... death to germs!!!

4:37 pm

*hand over mouth* Gomen nasai! I am very sorry, Jera!

4:37 pm

DEATH TO VIRUSES!!!!

4:37 pm

*smacks self repeatedly with fish since she had re7/36, but not the singular form* sheesh

It's like they just add that ending to any word near it.

4:37 pm

for joy, couldn't get in earlier

4:37 pm

mooer should be a word. cow = mooer

4:37 pm

warai

jera--I need those--can I have a clue? :)

4:38 pm

hi all--does anyone have a clue for ce 6/27?

4:38 pm

HI Evanonut!!! yes, there was a bloopy bit

4:38 pm

had the same prob evanonut

4:38 pm

anyone wanna make me dinner tonight??

4:38 pm

outnumbered - i gave one at 4:35

4:38 pm

No need to apologize, Lemon... getting naked is part of my religion...

oh, sorry hurshy, missed it

4:39 pm

ce6/27 like a funny spelling of either a kind of angel, or those little feet that may or may not be on the bottom of letters, depending on the font

4:39 pm

what are you in the mood for, Evan? I could do you some pasta? : )

4:39 pm

You can come over to my house evanadine... my daughter is making lasagna!!

4:39 pm

*blushing*

ce 6/27 - angel (sounds like a local man who wears a badge)

4:39 pm

here EvaN - have some of my dinner * pours out some sour cream an dchedder chips *

Eva, I'm making Mexican food!!!

4:40 pm

you didn't know, lemon, so it really doesn't matter - just wanted you to know what you might be saying in future situations :)

4:40 pm

bedtime for me... night all, and see you soon :D

4:40 pm

lasagne sounds yummy... i was just looking through the ikea catalog + saw the sweedish meatballs at the back...been craving red meat lately...hehe

Night Sherb

4:40 pm

mmm... ikea meatballs!!!!!

4:40 pm

(((Sherb))) sleep well, hun : )

4:40 pm

nite sherb!!

4:41 pm

Thank you so much, Hurshy! I am sure you saved me from some embarasment there...

4:41 pm

ty for the clues!

4:41 pm

nighty-night sherb

4:41 pm

Evanadine, it's that word again...:)

4:41 pm

Lemon, you must learn one very important thing here in Babble-Land... we are utterly shameless!!

4:41 pm

lemoned -- which word??

4:41 pm

(embarrassment)

My husband likes Spam - balls...

4:42 pm

komban wa, Sherb. Yoku nemuremashita

...in macaroni and cheese!

4:42 pm

evanadine, i think he means yummy

4:43 pm

brb... my son needs potty assistance...

4:43 pm

thank you, Hurshy-sensei! So now my spelling is going :/ Evanadine, 'yummy'...a word I just learnt and embarrassed myself with!

Ope, finally done, and right in the nick of time, the rest of the herd is here!! See you in the morrow!!! Take care!

4:43 pm

oops...babble bleeped nemuremaShita! I wonder why.

4:43 pm

hehe...yes, its a good word. :)

4:43 pm

lemon - in english, the letters s-h-i-t spell out a swear word, so the chat log substitutes a <beep>, even when it is part of a longer word - in case you want to know what just happened in your post.

4:44 pm

however, when you capitalize the S, it doesn't happen, as you may have just observed

4:45 pm

bye bunny!

4:45 pm

*looks around to see if anj is still in the room*

4:45 pm

oops...thank you! I did wonder why, in my first week at school and I spoke no English, people kept laughed! That might have been it! :)

4:46 pm

hi all -- welcome, lemon! Anyone, could I please have a clue for the or6/21 that is NOT the alloy? Thanks!

4:46 pm

(laughing)

4:46 pm

ch1212, variant of that one. change the 3rd letter

4:47 pm

and (when) would have been better than (and)

4:47 pm

Hi ch12 : )

4:47 pm

whatEVER have you guys been talking about?! shameless indeed. :)

4:47 pm

ch1212 = swap the middle vowel for another one...

4:47 pm

*returns looking sad as she has nothing but evil sp words to find before she can finish the puzzle*

4:47 pm

Aa, thank you! My english teacher will wonder what has happened to me over night :)

4:48 pm

does anyone know the official term for those hair clips that operate on a spring, you pinch them open and then all their teeth grab your hair and hold it? my friend in high school used to call them "instant prom hair clips", but there must be an actual name.

4:48 pm

Hey boreetos! : )

4:48 pm

Butterfly clips.

4:48 pm

hursh, my 2 year old calls them "chompers" LOL

4:48 pm

grippies?

4:48 pm

hair claws, hurshy? dunno..... :/

4:49 pm

overnight is all one word. also, on the internet we don't all capitalize as we would in real writing, but you should know that you should capitalize names of languages.

4:49 pm

thanks babbler and smaller -- got it! My last one, and I hate to babble and run, but I'm still nursing my beloved today -- his fever is gone, but he's still got the flu. Till tomorrow!

4:49 pm

'bye ch12 : )

4:50 pm

wow, a plethora of answers - does butterfly still work if they are the huge kind? that seems more fitting for the cute sparkly ones you see in little girls' hair.

4:50 pm

congrats, ch1212! see you tomorrow : )

4:50 pm

warai...maybe she will not be wondering what has happened to me overnight...:)

4:50 pm

this grid is a doozy.

4:50 pm

Hi Boreetos!!!! innocent english seminars! honest

4:51 pm

Hurshy, we called the bigs ones banana clips

4:51 pm

*whispers* what is a doozy?

4:51 pm

my friend used to do our hair for us (turned out he was gay, big shocker there), while singing "instant prom hair, instant prom hair!"

4:51 pm

:) I've heard that before. Heck, I've SAID that before.

4:51 pm

Has anyone got any clues the last RE6/24 RE7/36 and KS5/20 Please Help

4:51 pm

Grippies is cute. I love how Britons put y's and ies's onto the end of many words. It was prevalent in my home, this habit.

4:52 pm

a doozy describes something that is kind of big, scary, intimidating. a storm might be described as a doozy, or a difficult test in school.

4:52 pm

doozy - what i told my mother growing up when i came home past curfew

4:52 pm

Mab, you'll love "snackies" then! (one of my own..) ;)

4:52 pm

aka: whopper

4:52 pm

hurshy, well said. I was staring at a blank box trying to explain it. :)

4:52 pm

Ye gods, I just found the sp9... heebie-jeebie city.

4:52 pm

boreetos, one normally learns the words NOT to say first anyway! right?!!! right?!!!

4:53 pm

see, i thought banana clips were the ones that were two pieces joined at one end and then you clipped the other ends together.

4:53 pm

Norma - colour + opp of bottom (then plural for the 7)

4:53 pm

of course, in fact there are several languages in which all I know are bad words. :)

4:53 pm

hurshy, i agree on the banana clips, the springy thing i've heard as just "hair clip"

4:53 pm

Snackies, mmmmm. I use smokies. In the hospital where I worked, I called patient smoking times, which required going outside, smokies.

4:54 pm

warai, thank you! oh, demo I had a question...I thought the word gay meant happy, butI was told it meant something else also. What does it mean other than happy? And which was Hurshy referring to?

4:54 pm

butterfly clips are smaller, I believe...

4:54 pm

...your language is full of double meanings! ^^;

4:54 pm

Norma - sk5/20 - add a vowel on the end of the one above

4:54 pm

well hair clip is not descriptive enough - that could be any number of types of clips.

4:54 pm

gay: 1) happy 2) playing for the other team

4:55 pm

Lemon, they are called 'double entendres'..... which is french!! warai!! : D

4:55 pm

Jera, they are the mini ones right?

4:55 pm

Lemon, it gets worse... we frequently make up our very own word-plays here!

4:55 pm

gay does mean happy, but people don't tend to use it anymore because of the other (newer) meaning, which is homosexual.

4:55 pm

evanonut - that is so not helpful! warai!

4:56 pm

how bout "scary big-teeth havin'- hair scrunchin' clip of Doom!" ?

4:56 pm

Lemon: 'gay' is a very acceptable term for homosexual. It can refer to lesbians as well, but most often means men.

4:56 pm

nice, boreetos, but rather a mouthful

wow....I said hello, got pulled into a meeting (so sorry for my delayed responses....) and saw pages of chat going fast & furious!! Hello LEMONed - welcome to Babble!!!

4:56 pm

Jera, should I be afraid? Hurshy, Evanonut, thank you...that makes a little more sense now! ^^ I will try and remember that 'playing for the other team' means that too :)

4:56 pm

and, as you have probably guessed by now, lemon, it was not "happy" that i meant.

4:56 pm

sorry - let me try again gay 1) happy; joyful 2) boys who like boys

4:57 pm

Thank you Mab, as well! This is wonderful, everyone is so willful to help! Thank you :)

4:57 pm

hey look at that, nut, turns out for the best, since he now has an extra idiom under his belt

4:57 pm

HI EB!!!

4:57 pm

6:06 pm

outnumbered, LOL thanks!!!

6:06 pm

ce6/27, sounds like a variant spelling of a fancy angel ("Thus spake the ----")

6:09 pm

Dose yourself up with something soon Evanonut -perhaps you can nip it in the bud. I know how important it is for you to be germ free!

6:10 pm

i could maybe do the garlic thing, that wouldn't stop me from working

6:10 pm

Tylenol, evanout. Take care of yourself!

6:22 pm

i must be really dum just cant get it to type in

6:23 pm

don't look at me, haven't done a single word

6:23 pm

use the 'e' to the left of the 'c'

6:23 pm

ce+consonant+3rd vowel+ph

6:23 pm

ce+ a short word for tear (as in bodice-***per) + consonant.

6:24 pm

I just got here. I'm trying to get the last vi 6 and the last sp7/36

6:25 pm

Hi jacula & musicmom

6:25 pm

sp7/36 - same first 4 letters as the one before it then ends like rear-end ailment otherwise known as 'piles'.

6:26 pm

tks so much

6:26 pm

vi6/30 ends in the same way.

6:26 pm

Hi Snowy.

6:28 pm

Thanks Jac - I'm working on it.

6:28 pm

Are you all done with the grid, Snowy?

6:29 pm

thank you all so much ,it finally worked,i think i babbled just a little to long today ,thank all who helped ,you are all so nice

6:29 pm

You're welcome, Yvo.

6:31 pm

LOL no Jac -still have 57 to go! Started late today - have 3 0f the littlies and Malcolms mum had major surgery today. Air around here was a bit spiky so opted for some comfort babbling!

6:31 pm

Congrats Yvo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

6:31 pm

Snowy that sounds terrible. Hang in there.

6:32 pm

Snowy - I'm here for a while to clue you in then. Hope Malcolm's Mum recovers well.

6:32 pm

jac, music - we're supposed to be distracting her

6:33 pm

OOOps sorry - came in late - didn't get the memo. <G>

6:33 pm

Shes doing OK we think -Shes 82 this year and had a carotid defurring, a heart valve replacement and a bypass. She was in surgery for 7 hours. We'll see how she goes through the night.

6:33 pm

Okay, Evan. *Jac dons a top-hat and tails, fishnet tights and tap shoes. Holding a cane, she dances across the log.*

6:34 pm

Snowy u wouldn by chance make fun of me,!!!!! cause i did not finnish

6:34 pm

Snowy. ((HUGS))

6:34 pm

* jaw drops to floor * did anyone else know she could dance?

6:34 pm

LOl Jac- babbleland's always comforting & fun!

6:35 pm

No and look at those legs. Whooohooo! hehehee

6:35 pm

all i have is some spandex

6:35 pm

NOOO Yvo - I thought you had finished! Sorry - I would never make fun -don't finish many myself these days! LOL

6:35 pm

want me to dance in spandex?

6:36 pm

Sure - i'm taking belly dancing but not good enough to share yet.

6:36 pm

Well, I'd put a pic of me in my fishnets and 'saloon girl' outfit on here but when it's scaled down it makes me looked short & fat, not small & elegant!

6:37 pm

i could never pass for small and elegant

6:37 pm

HAHA Everything makes me look short and fat - that's because it is what it is.

6:37 pm

MM - I thought about belly-dancing classes. (I have the stomach for it these days!) Is it fun?

6:38 pm

MM - Get yourself one of those long, thin mirrors. They work wonders!:-)

6:38 pm

Knock yourself out, evanout (figuratively). Ooo, musicmom, I would love to learn belly dancing! Look at Jacs's feet go! They're a blur! Look out Savian!

6:38 pm

it is --- my best friend and I were too shy to sign up for an actual class. We bought videos and are doing it together. It's a hoot.

6:38 pm

waria

6:39 pm

good idea - Jac.

6:39 pm

I'd like to learn Flamenco.

6:40 pm

OOOOOO that' would be cool too.

6:40 pm

...and I've always wanted to Tango with a haughty look, and a (thornless) rose between my teeth

6:41 pm

Ballroom dancing of all kinds is what I want to do but Greg is always with the band. - He's a saxophone player.

6:41 pm

my cousine found the classes, my husband refused - probably this was a good thing

Done! Off to West African Dance class, talking about dancing... adios!

6:42 pm

Bye Mayan.

6:42 pm

Oh & I'd like to tap dance - I love the sound! My mum can tap dance and my very shy & quiet grandfather could too. We used to ply him with drink so he'd roll back the carpet & tap dance on the linoleum!

6:42 pm

My Mum & Dad used to go to a Ballroom dancing club. I saved an ad for classes for me and Paul not long ago, but he wasn't keen.

6:42 pm

Congrats Mayan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6:43 pm

Okay jac - I hate to be a pain but do you have definitions for the sp7/36 and the vi 6? I am just not getting it tonight.

6:43 pm

My auntie did tap & ballet and I inherited her stuff as she grew out of it. I never got to proper classes though.:-(

6:44 pm

sp7/36 - Resembling a spiral.

6:44 pm

sp7 -if you add more chilli to you curry it gets sp7!

6:44 pm

vi6/30 - An infectious particle, similar to but smaller than a virus, that consists solely of a strand of RNA and is capable of causing disease in plants.

sp7/36 is more of an sp5... think, taste!

6:45 pm

I have that one snowy. Thanks. Thanks jac - I appreciate it.

6:45 pm

MM wants the last sp7, which is the definition I gave. (Am I correct?)

6:45 pm

yep jac that is the one I wanted.

6:45 pm

Ty Jac - I've got it now too! LOL

6:46 pm

Anyone else need anything?

6:47 pm

Well, my daughter's been on my icon all day. Time I gave some web space to Paul (my partner)'s daughter.

6:48 pm

No thanks Jac. Got distracted by Jeopardy. i can get it from here. Have a good evening.

6:48 pm

REFRESH to see Paul's daughter about 10 and a half years ago.

6:49 pm

Got them both THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I was going for the wrong ending.

6:50 pm

They're both sweeties Jacula! My icon is my 3rd granddaughter Mollybeth she is 5 going on 40!

6:50 pm

Very cute Jac.

6:52 pm

Cor -could you get more, more than mo7/32 LOL!!!!!!

6:53 pm

sp9/66 is still the daftest word of the day in my opinion. It's very hard to say and makes me think of very long false eyelashes.

6:55 pm

You ae right Jac - we used to have just those type of false eyelashes in the 60s & 70s!

6:57 pm

Snowy, I know! Top & bottom sets. Used to wear 'em myself. They didn't half irritate if an end became unglued.

7:04 pm

Okay I'm back. Had a phone call. Accidently found one of the or words. Whooohoooo.

7:29 pm

I'm going to bed now - could be a long day tomorrow & I've still got some reading to do -also reached my 1.30 am deadline -so goodnight all. If anyone can finish the 18 I've got left I'd be grateful LOL!!!

7:29 pm

Good night snowy. Best wishes, prayers and hugs.

7:31 pm

Ty musicmom -She'll really appeciate the prayers. She's a special lady.

I used a2z alot, ak!!! weird words tonite!!

8:50 pm

*whispers* 48 for me, but I'm fighting the drowsiness of painkillers for back pain... Go US Bobsled!

8:50 pm

i've been trolling a to z myself tonight as well

8:51 pm

a2z, morewords, enable - it's all good! (except for a very pesky mi 4/5, before the 6/21)

8:51 pm

I figure there's no reason NOT to, ak!!! LOL Sorry to hear you are in pain, JBs...... :( (((((JB)))))))

8:52 pm

8:53 pm

I"M new what are all of these irs anders how do you know how many you are missing?

8:53 pm

*^%*)% sputtering Where's that spicy fish? Goes well with the fog

8:54 pm

8:54 pm

Thanks, MB! Using a cane to get around, but I should get off it this week. Been Babble deprived, so I thought I'd give it a try tonight.

8:55 pm

I have had back pain for 18 years... you have my sympathy........

8:56 pm

What did you do to your back, JB?

8:56 pm

I also have seen une, musicmom, aknitter, and a newbie so far. Feel like I'm on Romper Room - I see MamaBear, and Une, and...

8:57 pm

are all your friends having fun at play miss jean??

8:57 pm

I'm here - watching ladies' short program on the Olympics. I'm done - can give clues if needed.

8:57 pm

Sounds like the painkillers are kickin in, JB!!! LOL

8:57 pm

I could sneeze, bend over to tie my shoe, take out the trash, all very normal activities, and every now and then, all the muscles in my lower back just freeze up, and I hit the prescription meds...for about 2 weeks.

8:58 pm

Thanks, aknitter! I knew I'd find a kindred spirit here with that reference.

8:59 pm

All done....... this one was goofy

8:59 pm

i remember watching that when i was a kid. she never wished me a happy birthday though. i was very disappointed LOL

8:59 pm

Hey, musicmom, I love her musi (the skater), but oh, the disappointment!

9:00 pm

9:00 pm

I vaguely remember Romper Room --- she had a funky mirror or something right?

9:00 pm

Hello.

9:00 pm

whoo hoo for a2z is more like it!!! LOL

9:00 pm

hey harp

9:00 pm

Yay, MamaBear! Um, no fireworks tonight. How 'bout I toss you the bottle of vicodin?

9:00 pm

No doubt. I like that piece as well but she started off rough. I dont' know if I'm going to be able to keep my eyes open to watch the whole thing

9:01 pm

actually it should be harpier, there are a lot of ier words here today

9:01 pm

I'll see your vicodin and raise you some morphine!!! (leftover from surgery!)

9:01 pm

TERRIFIC Mamabear!

9:01 pm

Musicmom, I was 100% certain she could see me right through that mirror of hers!

9:01 pm

evenin' harpjane!!!!

9:02 pm

Tenacious! That's the word for us tonight (thanks Traci the skating commentator)

9:02 pm

Mamma, have you seen the newest Babble resource?

9:03 pm

See what these weird word grids do to us - sharing meds and libations. Hmm, chocolate, anyone?

9:04 pm

how about "tenacier"?????? LOL Yes Angelsong - I saw it in the Bab Anon link. But I don't know how to use it myself.... :( But I think it is wonderful!!!

9:04 pm

Tenacious is a good word. I only saw Romper Room a few times. We were Captain Kangaroo watchers. I even had green jeans.

9:04 pm

Angelsong - it's be ay yuu tiful! Thanks for a lovely job!

9:04 pm

chocolate covered vicodan?? yuck -- plain chocolate please

9:06 pm

*tosses aknitter a FULL bag of Hershey's kisses, all flavors* Plenty for everyone, send it around!

9:06 pm

ahhh do i have to share??

9:06 pm

Angelsong - how can I take that page you created and use it myself?

9:06 pm

LOL, MBear, "tenacier" it is!

9:07 pm

LOLier !!!!!!

9:07 pm

mamma, the links on the page are all active. just click to open them for the resources. Easy.

9:07 pm

The nice thing about virtual chocolate is that no matter how much you share, there's always plenty left over for your own chocolate fantasy.

9:07 pm

Wunderbar!!!!!!!

9:08 pm

Don't you mean wunderbarier?

9:08 pm

mmmmmm......chocolatier!!!!!

9:08 pm

Oh, Mamma, I am SO glad you asked. I will make you one of your own if you want one, with full instructions on how to use it.

9:09 pm

That sounds like alot of work, Angelsong!!!!! I could use the one in BabAnon..... you are sooo smart to have created something like that!!!! Smartier than I!!!!!

9:10 pm

Mama, I did that page, from nothing to full page, in about 20 minutes. so, no, it doesn't take long at all. Do you want one?

9:11 pm

LOL! I'm going to concentrate on the rest of my words, but I'll keep an eye on the log, ladies! I'm also watching figure skating, the one time in four years that I get to control the remote!

9:12 pm

That would be great, Angelsong!!!!!! How generous of you!!!!! ((((((((((((((ANGELSONG))))))) ))))))))))))

9:12 pm

Oh, great phrase: "moments of brilliance followed by extreme sloppiness" describes me on Babble tonight!

9:13 pm

is that their new way of saying "the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat?"

9:13 pm

Folks - i'm going to sign off for tonight. The kids were absolutely wild in class tonight and I'm beat. i want to finish watching the skating. Thanks for the great conversation and all the help. Happy Babbling!

9:14 pm

Mamma, I will need to know what colors you like, and your e mail address.

9:14 pm

LOL, MB! ABC's Wide World of Sports, and that poor ski jumper... Clue request - ce 6/27, please?

9:14 pm

Good Nitier, MM!!!!!

9:14 pm

ce 6/27 - sounds like a type of angel.....

9:15 pm

'Night, musicmom! Happy dreams!

9:15 pm

I love blues and purples, Angel..... *I need to ask you though what a project of this nature will cost though*.......

9:16 pm

mamma: cost is.......zero dollars. nothing, nada.

9:17 pm

Angel!!!!! You ARE an ANGEL!!!!! My email address is mamabear3cubs@yahoo.com

9:18 pm

And there is no hurry..... take your time!!!!!! *I'm so excited*

9:20 pm

I make the pages as a hobby. I do it for fun. I made the one I have online using a different template, three days after I started playing babble. Then I just decided to change the template, and got the idea that others might like to see it....

9:20 pm

Whoo hoo, Emily Hughes - way to skate!!!!

9:24 pm

Mama, help again? An angel (and not Angelsong, either, hee hee)??? I'm guessing it's c-e-r to start, based on the position in the list, but I can't make an acceptable ending

9:26 pm

kind of sounds like a man of the law (like Andy of Mayberry)

9:26 pm

and DUH!!! got it! ....here's the fish, I was sitting on it.... *whack* Hmm, for some reason, I didn't feel that at all...

9:26 pm

why not peerer - I'm sure one at this time of day!

9:34 pm

good evening

9:35 pm

hi doxy!!!!!!!

9:42 pm

Could I get a clue to pe6/21 please?

9:43 pm

add ie to the pe 4, harp

9:44 pm

Thanks, mama! That's a word I haven't thought about for years! (And I have a jar full of them!)

9:47 pm

AAOOWWWoooOWWWOOoooOOWWW!! An d a big hello to everyone tonight!! Seb is doing better & better --- with luck he will be coming home tomorrow -- the dr just wants to absolutely certain he is past the critical 4th day before approving discharge :) His appetite is improved and he is sleeping better :D

9:48 pm

hi GW, great news.

9:48 pm

So is it worth starting the hunt at this late hour?

9:48 pm

Hooowwwwlllll backatcha, GW!! Good news, thank God!

9:49 pm

If you're into weird words, and a speed typer, you just might get through it!

9:50 pm

JB -- your cups o'kitty are absolutely adorable!!!

9:50 pm

I'm so glad about the wee one, GW. Good news!

9:52 pm

No one is happier to hear the news than Kirsten --- she is champing at the bit to get home -- she has had enough of trying to sleep on the fold out bed in his room!

9:52 pm

Thanks, G! I got them from the extremely cute site...um, dang it, too muzzy to remember the address, sorry!

9:53 pm

JB -- do you mean Cute Overload?

9:54 pm

That's the one, yup! I showed it to co-workers one slow Friday afternoon. You could hear the ooohhhsss and aaaaahhhhss from 3 rooms away!

9:54 pm

LOL!!

9:57 pm

Hi all....could anyone spare a clue for the vi8/55?

9:59 pm

vi8 - something that kills a virus

10:01 pm

hmm...tough one...thanks doxy

10:01 pm

did you get it?

10:02 pm

*ashamed* no... but working on it doxy

10:03 pm

the last part think homo****, killing someone.

10:03 pm

uses lots of i's

10:04 pm

ahhh....thanks a big bunch! got it. got so close to finishing last night...musta dun in the brain cells for this one.

10:04 pm

you are welcome

10:05 pm

GW!!!!!! I was on the phone with my daughter and came back and here you are!!! I'm glad wee one is doing better!!!!!!

10:05 pm

((**MAMA**)) -- I was wondering where you were :)

10:06 pm

The grid is a booger...... used a2z ALOT

10:07 pm

If you are working it, general rule of thumb is to add "ier" to EVERY word!!!! LOLier

10:08 pm

Well, I am committed now -- (or should be) -- have found 53 already -- including the 8's and the 9 -- thanks to doxy just now and mrp early this AM :)

10:09 pm

I see what you mean -- just got 3 more that way! ;D

10:09 pm

You are good.... you'll be done in a no timier!

10:10 pm

See!!! I restier my casier!

10:10 pm

Oh, rest assured that I will be asking for help in a bit :)

10:15 pm

Finished. Glad Sebastian is doing well, Grey. Now the grid: not so many odd words, just many words with one or more suffixes: ier, as Mama has said, and ic, id, oid, ide, and then the usuals. I advise the Sprite method - find the endings and then try everything with them. And remember the Inuit boat.

10:15 pm

Well, I hate to say hi and run, but I have a headache the size of Nebraska...... have a good nite all!!!! Sleep well and sweet dreams.... ****mmmmwwwwaaaaahhhhh***

10:15 pm

sp7/36 anyone?

10:15 pm

nite mamabear. Hope you feel better soon.

10:15 pm

already have the hot sp7

10:16 pm

Take care, Mama Bear. I'm off (in every sense) too. Night.

10:16 pm

Thats OK, Mama -- take care of yourself and we will see you again soon enough (*HUG*)

10:16 pm

sp7 - start with the first 4 letters from the sp5 before it, add a vowel, vowel, consonant

10:16 pm

I have to ask before I go..... "Inuit boat"????????

10:16 pm

Hey, Mama, just return the bottle so I can get a refill! Have a great night!

10:17 pm

the oo's, MB

10:17 pm

Thanks, mab -- G'night! (*Hug*)

10:18 pm

think I have that one doxy... it's hot!

10:18 pm

SP 7 was the last word for me. It means resembling a spiral.

10:19 pm

Hail and Hello.... glad all is getting better here... only 76 to go.,,,,

10:19 pm

theres one that hotter, and one thats a shape.

10:19 pm

86 to go here, Blaze :)

10:20 pm

70 here

10:21 pm

hmm...perhaps i'm missing something... thought that was the 7/32

10:22 pm

There are two sp7/36 -- more seasoned, and looking like a spiral.

10:23 pm

hey...why does my total say NaN at the bottom of my list? Does it mean "not available now"? Have I requested too many clues or something?

10:23 pm

there is also a 7/36 that is similar, different ending. Add 4th vowel, 3rd vowel and consonant

10:24 pm

Oops, doxy already said that. Ok. Night for real now.

10:24 pm

nite mab

10:27 pm

YAY!!! ty doxy & mab!

10:29 pm

Cathyar - hit "refresh"

10:30 pm

Ah-hah!!! took one of my words away...guess Dr. God musta goofed!

10:32 pm

Oh, the blashphemy! right in the chat log too! LOL!

10:32 pm

it accepted it at first...then the total for that word disappeared...and when refreshed...the word vanished! but my total came back at least!

10:33 pm

FYI, Dr_God made a visitation to the log today, around 2pm, I think. I had a vision!

10:34 pm

clueless for sk5 please

10:34 pm

LOL...ya...i saw him too JBs... he must have been working on something!!! my game went down for a bit!

10:34 pm

add a vowel to your sk4

10:35 pm

help with pi5 and 7 pls.

10:35 pm

thank you dox.... another enable word for my list....

10:35 pm

He's a sneaky divinity! *looking around to see if the good Dr_ is watching*

10:35 pm

sk5 = they live in northern canada...except lose the first vowel

10:36 pm

doxy!!! u r quick with the clues baby!!!! ;)

10:36 pm

nevermind, found the pi5 and 7

10:37 pm

the word i thought was a word, which Dr. God took away was... hmm...am i allowed to say?

10:37 pm

with just over an hour left? go for it!

10:38 pm

well...it was a to6

10:38 pm

topire... funny...there arent even any to6's in this puzzle 2nite.

10:39 pm

C - add an "ier" to it somewhere, and it would fit right in with this grid!

10:39 pm

i need to find an icon with someone wearing a dunce cap...that'd be moi!

10:40 pm

Suggestion - go to Google Images, and type in "dunce cap" You might like what you find!

10:42 pm

well...got my 8's and 9's...five 7's (all with much assistance)...but i can't take it anymore. 12:39 a.m. here and work comes early a.m.! G'nite all...hope to see you tomorrow! BTW...I suggested earlier that we do car logo icons tomorrow! (I pick the "H" Honda)

10:42 pm

nite cathy

10:43 pm

G'night, Cathyr!

10:47 pm

vi5/16?

10:47 pm

Ahhh....i couldn't leave without taking JBs suggestion... nite!!!! :)

10:48 pm

what you get when you cross video and oreo

10:49 pm

Yay, Cathyar! Looks good!

10:51 pm

While we're still on favorite offspring- I couldn't figure out how to get a picture of Merp the cat to transfer, but this guy looks like his twin.

10:54 pm

Doesn't really show how gorgeous he is. I have to get my computer expert neighbor to come over and guide me through the process of using shots from iphoto as icons. I've tried and tried to do it as the directions on the profile page say, and it will not work.

10:56 pm

Eva, I've had the same problem. I can't get my pictures to load from my desktop.

10:59 pm

gee, i wish i had read this alot earlier - i put in two words that didn't show up and weren't in the total, but when i tried to put them in again, it said they were already there!

10:59 pm

25 to go but alas alac I must go to.... see after the flip...

11:00 pm

been fretting about that for a while, now i know to refresh - live & learn, thx

11:00 pm

helen, when that happens, hit your refresh button.

11:00 pm

still have 56 to go here, Blaze -- Fare well and see you tomorrow :) (*Hug*)

11:01 pm

bye blaze

11:01 pm

Good to know that I'm not the only one who can't get such stuff to work-I'm sure that there's some simple fix and that the way I have the photos stored in iphoto doesn't supply the correct url info. But have no idea how to change that.

11:03 pm

well, 58 left to go and I'm bidding you all a good night and good sleep. Here's to hoping that tomorrow's grid will have more of a resemblance to the English language.

11:03 pm

thx doxy - did it, all better now

11:04 pm

that happens to me on occasion.

11:06 pm

last re6/24?

11:07 pm

11:11 pm

re6 - what you use to cook something with, the written directions including ingredients.

11:11 pm

GW, one is the one you cook with and one you get at the end of a transaction...

11:11 pm

11:12 pm

i'm done, i'm done !!! - ok, i have been on this game for 3 days now to the exclusion of much else - although with this one it was getting easier to find what i missed - are they ever any smaller?

11:17 pm

we had some really small ones, under 100 words, over the weekend.

11:18 pm

Congratulations helen!!!!!!! and yes -- the smallest I remember was around 38 or so, the largest was 474 -- it is completely random as to what we get on a given day :)

11:18 pm

congrats helen

11:20 pm

11:21 pm

ov + i + pesti****(weed killer)

Hello, sneaking out of bed for a cigarette real quick! Grey, I heard through the grapevine the little one is ill, how is it going?

11:22 pm

need help with 1st de6,7 pls.

11:23 pm

bunny -- he is doing very well -- he caught RSV from his sister, but we caught it just as it manifested -- they admitted him to the hospital more as a precaution than anything else -- looks like he may come home tomorrow :)

de 6 - An authoritative order having the force of law de 7 - de + someone who bawls alot

11:24 pm

working backwords, doxy so I can't help you -- would if I could :) help with the or6's?

Great! I'm glad to hear it, it's scary when they get sick that young! Everyone was worried.

11:25 pm

doxy, de plus 'up the creek without a paddle' without the 'e' and de plus weepier..

11:26 pm

or6 - or + 2nd vowel + 3rd vowel + consonant + 2nd vowel. or6 - change the first vowel after the or.

or + one of your e words (sounds like allright) or + aster*** + vowel

11:56 pm

Hey, Grey whatever happened to Smeltzdog?

11:57 pm

kristi -- this whole situation has been all the more bearable thanks to all the support I have received from my fellow Babbleonians --- and the understanding of my new employers -- they have been completely sympathetic to the fact that I have not been able to work my full shift due to having to watch my daughter :)

11:57 pm

chic -- you know, I was wondering that myself just yesterday -- I think he may just be too busy right now, but I really don't know :)
