How come relet is a word and rerent isn't?
'Cause English is weird.
r7/36
t7/36
T 7/28
pe/8= form of government
en8 - plea
(and the en7 should be obvious...)
Thanks, Judie ...............for you, maybe, hurshy!
Thanks, Hurshy!
i meant once you have the 8. i can't find any of the others that have been mentioned!!!
Hurshy is da man!

Hi there, peoples.
Welcome, Voyager :)
ah, got r7
ta 7/36
ah, got that, thanks
the almosts are getting to me already
E 8/50
and there are a lot of them!!
Heh, I tried to make pentagon earlier.
spose that's why!
creator, penetrate
generate
i can only get one of the gy's - sandwich... is the other one... female related???
Still havent found the t 7/28
Wow, I suck at this...
me neither... or the pe8... does it start with the five prefix??
ae 7/28
Morning Hurshy :)
it's still night to me, but hey debs :)
Oh keep forgetting... Evening Hurshy
yes the p/8 starts with the 5 prefix
Just been in Sudoku.... it's easy today finished it already
hurshy, p8= 2 words p 4/5 + a 4/6

Congratulations, Sandyloo!
thanks all!!
ugh, we just had my's yesterday, must we have them again???
I can never find those ae's no matter how many times they keep appearing! --- think I have a mental block there.
It's the same my 4, Hurshy!
cybernan, think what you might do to your lawn for the ae.
i know, i got that one, i don't know what else to get
i always want the simple things like s's
or did you have that one already. sorry if i overstepped there.
and the y is the same way, one obvious, one...maybe i just need a fish?
as a newbie i am constantly fascinated by the mention of fish in the chat am i missing something??
if you do something stupid you hit yourself with a fish. there are many different fish. the pollock of plurality and past tense, the haddock of obviousness, etc.
ROFL how did i not see that one!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Hurshy
for explaining the fish? did you not know about them either, cnan? how is that possible?
Did you get the pe 8, Hurshy?
yes, and used the haddock vigorously
No -- i was thanking you for the ae clue!
hurshy- the y's SOUND exactly the same.
oh, then i think you meant to thank corpsvalue
ah, the relief, thanks grigs
hail and hello to everyone
begorrah to you blaze who is your group
Hi Blaze :)
it is an old photo of the beatles.... hmmm I should go find a shamrock or something to change the icon...
i love the beatles was such a mad keen fan when i was 13
we are are probably around the same age then
how can there be 3 from that r?!?!
2, sure, but 3?
hurshy think of someone shouting......
Thank you corpsvalue
you mean like ____ and rave? nope, comes off the middle
yw
Which r, Hurshy?
which two do you have? I also have two... maybe they're different?
the 1st row, 4th column... it's almost impossible for anything to come off it, bc most things you can make with it you can make with the one next to it
my 2 go together - unusual and more unusual
pooh, those are the ones i have...
Hurshy the other r is an r 4...think shouting
blaze - see my 1:12 question....?
Think of a kind of wrench. without the et.
oops sorry for the mis direction and thanks for the clue got it....
nice try, ava, but still comes off the middle
What about the person who is the law in the forest?
cy- that's stil off the middle r :(
the words count towards the first letter they could possibly come off of, right to left, top to bottom, so all these count for the middle r
You're talking about the r next to the c right?
yup
did i say right to left, i meant left to right - staying up too late...
the last 'r' is a compound word
ugh, this is NOT going well, only found one O, so many many boxes very far from being grey
The only other I can think of is raree, but it's not accepted!
ra8/45
ooh, hmm... only one i cant think of is welsh ______ but that's not it
ahhh... lovely lovely lovely
macuser, you are the... mac. Hurshy, it's 2 r4/4's together, one of ours, and teh other is a fruit that's done
nobody has any 9's yet?
yup, got it grigs (hence the lovely lovely lovely)
i have the ge 9/66. somebody ALMOST got it a while back as one of teh "almosts"
of course of course!!!
hah.
just got that ge 9/66
What kind of word is that last r????
the silly kind
although actually i think i may have seen it in harry and david catalogs
i only have 125, how's everyone else doing?
Didn't take it quite far enough!
113
That's where I've seen the word... in a catalog. It's not one that's used in everyday conversation though. Perhaps I'll try it on the produce guy in the grocery store, heh
I have 100 and the rest can wait till tomorrow -- just too tired! Good night, all :)
so... nobody has the second gy or my?
G'night nan
the second gy add a consonant to the end of the first one. funky def:A subordinary of triangular form having one of its angles at the fess point and the opposite aide at the edge of the escutcheon. When there is only one gyron on the shield it is bounded by two lines drawn from the fess point, one horizontally to the dexter side, and one to the dexter chief corner.
thanks but oops eren :)
hiya everyone!!!!!!
bex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hello bex
second my 4: ancient story about supernatural creatures.
Oh poop on a stick. I will be more careful!
for the last my ...add na
just thought i would start before school!!!!!
I usually make my own definitions for clues. thatll teach me.
my4/8 - mystical or half truth
More than halfway done... that's enough for now, the rest can wait 'til tomorrow. Goodnight everyone and happy hunting :)

Anniversary on St. Patrick's day... ...that must make for a lot of good memories, if you can remember them...
hahaha voyager u just wait til its your turn and i can remember most of it LOL
I remember about 2 minutes of my wedding day/night! It was a whirlwind!!
i want so much to put in gentry but it just wont go
I think I'll just stick to this puzzle...it's my first time, and I seem to have hit a wall...again... (I made it to 450)
a whirlwind of good wine i hope and you should be out on friday nite in sydney!!
LOL me to sandy
Is there actually a word with the "J" in it? I don't want the answer yet, I'm just wondering...
LOL Sandy, I have young children... no going out for us!!
leave them at home tethered to their cots
Once they're in bed, the night is yours. Mommy gets to take a night off every now and then.
Voy - no j in any word I have so far
If the little kids want a glass of water so badly, they know how to work a faucet.
press next time i come to sydney you will have to get a babysitter ill go halves
...tethered to the cot! can you just imagine the headlines!!
Voy, they know how to use the pantry !! They would just be counting the seconds before they would be out of bed and into the bisquits!!
sandy, would love to catch up!! Please do come over and have some wine!!
oh just remembered you dont have a cot the man over the road purchased it!!!!
LOL!!
You could always just slip them some "sleep supplements".
so cruel sandy!!!
Ah! Curse this babble! "IGNORF" I'm a fifth of a letter away!
u betcha press i dont go so much anymore now my daughter has moved over here but we will probably go sometime i LOVE Sydney especially having breakfast at bronte and doing that walk to bondi
brb, gotta wash their feet! They are going to bed now!!
Bu-bye!
voyager u may be interested to know that i never get this completed and that press gets it all the time
...it would be cool if "goymfj" was a word...
I'm a student of Hurshy. She is my math teacher.
lol i agree and earthtonger and have u tried the iron suduko
I looked at it briefly and promptly gave up.
I broke 500! Yay! (501)
WTG Voyager! do you want to know how many words there are today? or do you already know?
No idea...how many are there? (and that was 501 points, not words...)
hang in there voy u r going well
199 words today, total points 2759.
Yeah...I'll keep working on that...
...I'm guessing I'm running out of little words?
--- Word Sizes --- 4 - 74 5 - 74 6 - 34 7 - 11 8 - 3 9 - 3
i find it fascinating that there are so many words you should buy a boggle game if you keep playing this you will blitz it in and truly amaze your opponents
Good morning, everyone.
Yeah...I'm at 55 words...total...
Ooh it's trying to snow again :(
it's snowing here ...
Morning Haz, are you well?
Good morning, fellow stranger.
I am indeed. Just got started on the grid and it seems okay.
Morning all, 70 words down, but struggling!!
I'm only babbling til 10.00 then am stopping as have a lot to do today. Grid isn't too bad so far but I have nothong over 6 letters so far.
Good morning!
So maybe it isn't an okay grid after all! My icon, by the way, in honour of St Patrick's day, is of Slemish, where he is reputed to have herded sheep. It's about 5 miles from where I live.
Wonderful scenery Haz, and Happy St Patricks Day.
I"m going to quit at 5:00.
(AM)
Thank you - not that I do anything special! It seems that the Americans lead the way in St Patrick's day celebrations.
If you mean "College-age deaths by alcohol poisoning", then yes, we sure do!
Am I also right in hearing that a traditional St Patrick's day meal consists of corned beef, cabbage and potatoes? A meal I have NEVER eaten or made for anyone!
doesn't sound very appetising does it!
Yes, as a matter of fact.
Depends on how badly the Corned Beef has been overcooked...it's not one of my favorites, to be honest.
hi haz and i have had that meal its actually quite yummy if you cook the corned beef yourself and my icon is because its my wedding anniversary (36)
We first heard of it when we had American visitors. I was horrified!
morning all. Not sure if I will be joining you today again, (I missed yesterday). I'm out this morning for a couple of hours, and at a meeting this afternoon. I'll need more time than that to tackle this grid.
Hello, new European person.
im surprised that its an american dish i always thought it was english or irish
We think it is, too...but you know how good Americans are at world culture and geography...
see what fun voyager- we got the world covered!!
Congratulations sandyloo
Nothing better than a corned beef sandwich!!!
Go America!
thanks wren its a nice dinner out- but tomorrow nite
te9 - Any agent that causes a birth defect
We will compensate for our underwhelming performance in the olympics by butchering your cultural heritage and traditions!
thanks press got it!!
MrP so glad to see limecat is back - just love that icon.
ge9 is such an easy one! Automatically kicks in when your power goes out
Rats, 10am already, time flies when you're having fun, must be off Bye all
what about the tr 9
Yay, other people's answer's make me feel smart! Thank you, real smart people!
Bye FMitch
Bye.
I have to go now, too. Bye-bye, babblers.
husband is home from the" farm"-- means i have to cook him some dinner--hmmm
bye voya... see you again soon! Nice chatting
sweet dreams voy
Bye Voyager.
pres your icon is it your cat with an apple helmet?
tr9 - tr5+ar4 captain of a greek warship
my puss is a melonhead!! some days it is limecat some days it is kumquat cat!
pe8 is a compound pe4 + ar4
ra8 is also a compound ra4 + ri4 (very odd word!)
en8 - an ernest request or petition
on7 very similar to the word meaning Mean-spirited, disagreeable, and contrary in disposition drop the second letter for the on7
The tr 9/60 could also be seen as a builder's first attempt at a curved structure.
did your cat pose for this picture (headlines in newspaper)
ae7 - a device used for airing
LOL Sandy! My cat would kill me if I posted a pic of her looking like this, no, this is someone elses unfortunate
Is that enough clues everyone??
lotsa nice clues, thanks MrP .... hi everyone :)
Trish!! good to see you again!
That has been very helpful MrP. Can I just ask about the check list which I used yesterday for the first - can you save the list to come back to it later in the day? I didn't want to tempt fate by turning the computer off!
You too, MrP... how are you today? And how's everyone doing on the grid? I've got no brain today... trying to spell your ae7 and getting my vowels in a knot, lol.
Haz, I don't turn this thing off, so I didn't think anything about that... will ask lickety when I see him. I would copy/paste to word in the meantime and save it there ..... to be sure, to be sure.
Thanks MrP!
9.30pm and have a big day tomorrow, kids sports starting really early. better go sleep! Thanks for the chat everyone and see you on the upside of tomorrow !!
thanks for the clues press still working on the greek warship
bye
'night 'night, Mrp!
Sleep well, MrP
Thanks, night!!
Well, finally time to babble!
Hi, Sprite :)
Hey trish :)
Good morning everyone : )
Ha lola!
Hi Lola :)
Ooops, forgot to change my icon! Hi trish and sprite : )
Me too :)
sprite, have you done the sudoku grid today?
Yes, I did. You too?
no, not yet. Is it better than yesterday's?? : /
It's fairly easy today.
oh good! Looking forward to trying it. I save it as my reward for finishing babble ; )
We had a blast in the chat this morning :) Was really fun!
sprite, the babble chat?
sudoku chat
Started with the Karma Sutra and went downhill from there, lol.
oh yeah? I'll have a look when I go to play! : )
now I COULD ask what the karma sutra has to do with sudoku but.... } )
I had to laugh so hard, I couldn't even see the grid anymore. With Debs and Kryst10 and Atalante... even Dr_God had his say :)
oh, now I have to know! Back in a bit : )
sprite, would you mind posting the sudoku link? For some reason it's not coming up at the top of babble chat for me tonight.
http://www.ironsudoku.com/
thanks muchly. :)
Very welcome :)
My daughter loves to play, but although she's 18, the chat may be a little mature for her, do you think? I haven't been there yet.
sprite, my 'veiw entire chat log' button isn't working, can't see this morning's chat : ( ...might have to wait 'til tomorrow to view it.
how many words today??
199 Ricey
er, that would be 'vIEw' : / luvmy, I don't think it's too bad. No worse that what you see/hear in the media : )
Pom, it wasn't that bad. No foul language or anything explicit. An 18 yo wouldn't have had problems with it, I am sure. Poor lola, you have to practice patience! That's bad! ;)
Maybe I'll take a look and see. I saw earlier on this board that it got a little gross one day talking about abortions, etc. She loves to Babble with me. Sometimes a pair of fresh eyes see the most obvious words right in front of my nose! lol
sprite, grrrrrr I know! I sometimes think that learning patience is my life lesson. It sure as hell don't come naturally, lol! : D
Don't you know that brilliant prayer? "Please God, grant me patience. AND I WANT TO HAVE IT RIGHT NOW!!!" Missed the part about abortions, Pom... that sounds unpleasant.
right now?? I wanted it YESTERDAY damnit! : D
LOL!
I am nowhere near patience myself either. I can be patient with kids or clients, sometimes even with friends... but that's about it, lol. Not with myself and most certainly not with things! I hate waiting.
sprite, I'm the same. My three year old has made me discover depths of patience I never knew where there! lol : D
:D They are good at that, aren't they :) I am done, got to run. Happy hunting all! :)
Yay! Well done sprite! See you later : )
bye Sprite... I'm off too, have a good day everyone!
'bye trish : )
Mornin' folks! How's it look today?
hi amanda! Not too bad : )
morning everyone, merry christmas
it still won't take goth - I try it everytime, in the fruitless hope that someones updated enaable...
me too amanda...and mosh : )
Ah, I see we've got the "sort-of Lone Ranger's friend" again - anybody know what it means?
nope! : /
It looks like an Itlalian or Spanish word for 'such' or 'so many'
I googled it: "The t**** is the knife worn traditionally by the Samurai. The t**** was not so much a working knife, but a secondary weapon that was kept with him at all times." So now we know
companion knife to a katana
hi haz. What is you icon today? thanks amanda, now we know! : )
Did you know that, Capone, or did you look it up?
My icon is Slemish, a hill where St Patrick reputedly herded sheep. It's about 5 miles away from where I live.
http://tinyurl.com/zfcml kata na, wakizashi and tanto set
no i collect swords
right, gotta run. Back later : )
Bye lola!
I see - you're a good resource for weapon-words then. Now all we need are experts for ... well, I suppose just about everything else
Hi all any clues please for the re5/14 thanks
lol, not an expert by any means. started collecting because i was a huge "Highlander" movie mark and then later even incorporated the "Highlander" moniker when I did a stint as a ringside manager for a local indy pro rasslin fed. once, my katana got a little too friendly with a prop one of the other guys brought to the ring (blow up doll) and sliced through it and the ring canvas...funny stuff
re 5/10 - the duration of time for a king or queen to be on the throne.
TY haz
You're welcome!
Sorry Haz i have got that one its the last re5/14 i need
mornin babblers!!
Morning evan
the toon thats smarter than the average bear is in the puzzle today! anyone got a pic-a-nic basket?
hi evan
D***, I was going to start throwing Highlander quotes at you, Capone, then I realized I only know them in German! I love the movie as well, and I'm sure I've seen it a dozen times in one language or the other, but I was conditioned on the quotes by German boys...
Hi evana, hi all. Happy St. Patrick's Day.
Hi mab
Better; changed icons.
lol amanda. they are working on a new trilogy w/the guy from the series. hopefully it will be better than the last few lambert sequels
hey mab, merry christmas
St. Patrick's day is very big in a town near here that is home to old Irish families. Big parade day, shamrocks permanently painted on the roads.
Why Christmas Cappie? Separate question, are you homicidal?
because its christmas no
Isn't it appropriate that Eire is in the grid on St. Patrick's Day
no, that would make too much sense
That's a good crossword word.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!! Im still looking for the second re5/14
Good morning everyone! Got the kids out the door, the coffee's on. Life is good.
Caitlyn... re + oil ***
Have you got the latin equivalent of the other 5/14?
morning MM, merry christmas
Morning mm! Sorry Caitlyn -- re's are my weakness.
Caitlyn - dic doesn't give a def, but it sounds like it might be the she who does the other re5/14 ...?
Feliz Navidad Capone - I take it you aren't Irish.
OOHHHH NOOOOOo Not Re words. Next to words that start with vowels they are the worst.
It's an anagram of an5/14
italian/german on dads side dutch, irish and welsh on moms
Hiya -- haven't been around much recently but wanted to say "Slainte" and Happy St. Patrick's day!
Morning sproing. Beautiful icon!
Thanks! It's my family crest (I'm a McGill -- most of my family is Irish)
Oops! I just realized I put a word in the log earlier - sorry!
Hi Sproing -- it's been ages! Happy SP to you!
So did Capone Amanda.
re words and no s. boooohooooooo.
Did he? I'll have to go back and check!
lol...ooops, so i did. sorry folks, won't let it happen again. well time to go, i have an appointment with a yo..... nm
Bye capone. have fun?
that was a joke
Sorry Haven't had my coffee yet. :-)
me either, then again i don't drink coffee
Okay now i feel really stupid!! I have the first 2 re5/14 s it is the last one that i cant get!! Im confused now with the clues(for which i thank you all) Please pass the fish
HEY the coffee pot just beeped. be right back.
re + something in the ocean used to tap into teh oil
also a term for a semi truck
TY capone got it !!!!!!!!!!Hurrah
Thanks Amandacath and cluers - I have three of the fearful re's that I would have fretted over.
Or to 'fix' elections.
fearsome re's, not fearful.
i need the 3rd i have the one i just clued and the king/queen term limit
Try Haz's anagram of an 5/14.
Capone - the other one is an anagram of an5/14 - fury
Thanks everyone for your help.I have to cook lunch now .Catch you all later bye
stuck on last 2, te9/66 and re7/28, any clues please??
back
re 7/28: to pull back or run away; or to give a little gift again.
Ty Mab, I'm sure I've put that in more than once today
prego. still working out the te.
te 9/66 - First four letters Miss Hatcher's name with different last vowel, then two letter preposition, then start of Mr Pitney's name.
The ending resembles the tonic 'Sana*****
Just got all the 8's & 9's using http://www.morewords.com/wor dsbylength/ It's brilliant!!!!!
'An agent, such as a virus or drug, or radiation that causes malformation of an embryo or foetus'
ty haz, done, never heard of that one
took some puzzling out, but I got the te9. Thanks all!
hi all - whats the count to day - am on 102 and reaching for the stats methinks!
ok, im lost, wtf are mrs hatcer and mr pitney?
sandr - 199 - you are doing well.
Haz. Thanks for the te - the def helped too. You're the greatest.
Sorry, Capone - I'm showing my age with Mr Pitney. How about Mr Hackman instead?
had almost the same problem, Capone - knew ms. hatcher but not mr. pitney. Try: prefix meaning trillion + preposistion + the thing on a chromosome - last letter
Thank you Haz.
199, huh? I've exactly 100 to go - ugh
106 down, 96 to go. time for a break
what i menat were who are they? the actors?
Ms. Hatcher is a Desperate Housewife, used to be Supergirl, if I remember correctly
Yes Terri Hatcher, Gene Pitney and Gene Hackman.
lol. whos giving out words now MM?
PPHOOOEEEYYYYY We're even. I didn't have that in my log yet. SORRY everyone!!!!!
Well if you're going to do it - you should REALLY do it. Right?
twice even. ;p
I think i should go work on the dining room. I don't want to though.
happy pats day everyone
Morning Sandyloo.
merry christmas sandy
morning music
thanks santa
welcome
what is the present you have for me in your sack?
is TSM on yet? ;)
i would like one dozen crayfish and 20 bottles of wine
morning, all. quite a puzzle today!
morning angel
Hi, everyone!!!!! Now, I may not be of the Irish persuasion, but........ HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!!!!!! Now to catch me a leprechaun.......
Hi Angel. Your resource page is terrific, by the way. Thank you for doing it.
Hi movieman. Do let us know if you catch one. Does one get a wish if one captures a leprecaun?
HI all! Go mbeannaà dia dhaoibh, a chairdhe (that means may God bless you my friend)
mab - a wish, a pot o' gold, anything'll do for me......
leprechaun.
hi jen what language is that?
mab, your icon's in the grid!
Wow Jen, say that ten times rapidly. The same to you.
Oh yes, t'is!
Irish Gaelic... don't ask me to pronounce it though!! I am 1/4 Irish, though. :) The coat of arms I'm using is one of many coats of arms of my maiden name.
OK, at 109 and going nowhere fast. Before I resort to the lists, can anyone tell me how many biggies? 7, 8, 9+
7-- 11 8-- 3 9-- 3
3 9 letter words ge 9/66 te 9/66 tr 9/66
Go dtachta na péisteoga do thóin bheagmhaitheasach!
craic maith
oy, mishegas!
3 8 letters pe 8/55 en 8/50 ra 8/45
Eek! Thought I'd covered the 9s with the Ms. Hatcher/Mr. Hackman dealie - off to type my fingers bloody trying to find the others!
I've already heard 'Danny Boy' today -- never fails to make me teary, even the 78th time.
if you mange to make the 9 letter words then you will yourself be an example of one of them (sort of)
the tr one means the captain of a greek warship but i havent got it yet
Got the g - had tried to find that word earlier but was going the wrong way, now for the captain...
google is, as always, your friend.....
tr/9 three + mcdonalds logo
i google but didnt glean
as capone said, but it could also be a MacD on a German/Austrian city???
or a famous St. Louis landmark
Look a little bit further in when you google, sandyloo. I got the ship mainly, but it's captain is in there.
It is a compound of tr5 and ar4.
Yay - got it. The German city gave it to me. It's one that's often in the grid (the city, I mean) and it took me forever to figure out that it's not the city, but rather one who attempts
google for trireme and then read the articles.....
i obviously dont know any st louis landmarks cant think of mcdon logo but i will google trireme
The pe8/55 is the same is at Greek Captain but there are two more. Damn this is addictive....
ge/9 clue?
ge9 - what you need in the winter if the electriciy goes out?
Capone: I am sure you have the power for that one!
Hello all! Happy St.Patty's day!!
lol, yea. got it. i need to delete this site from my memory. i'm getting nothing done
merry christmas TSM
Hi Toes!
Morning TSM!
Have to work for a little. I'll be back later.
ROFL Capone :) Your the best :) (((Jen, Mab)))
ditto. TSM, email, now bitch!
no, TSM, you're teh best. so adorable.
Aw RAWR! lol ok checking
199 words today... huh .... well ok :)
any clues for en 8/50 and ra 8/45?
hard... no S
en would be to plea or beg.
The ra is NOT a rodent on a big farm - although I think that should be a word
ra 8/45 is a combination of the unusual ra4/4 and the ready to eat ri4/5
ra 8 is a strange word made up of two words which are ra 4/4 and ri 4/5
Thanks Sandy & Haz - got it (although I like mine better)
en is an extension of the en 7
Thanks Sandy - once you said that, then Angels magic list of words came to the rescue.
im embarrassed to say i still h avent got that tr 9 although i have the pe 8
and im sick of reading about triremes they are not mentioning their captain!
Sandy - German city (or one who attempts) + geometric figure
Sandy - put together tr5 - one who attempts and ar4, as in Triumphal Ar**
a five sided shape is to the pe8 you have as a three sided shape is to the answer you are looking for - cryptic enough not to give it away I think
finally got the ra8/45 and I am defintiely not doing that this morning! :-) oh well, lunch break over - back to work
LOL I have got the fact of the rainbowlike thing and the three thing its the 4th letter i cant get
Ok, whoever asked me if I was homicidal earlier....I change my answer.
what was your answer cap?
no but the worm has turned
Sandy - the middle er3/3 you are looking for is a long period of time
ROFL
That was me. What's going on with you?
Sandy it's the only letter that can come between the 3 and the rainbow
lookout, capone is going to gun down a worm that has changed direction!......take cover!
im getting the giggles now
He can use his Japanese knife!
Good morning, all... finally made it to the half-way mark, whoo-hoo!
no, but I am going to shove my size 12 up the ass of the hump at my mortgage company that has not sent my escrow payment to my new homeowners insurance company. old coverage runs out next week
i would have thought there was only one but its not taking it lol lol
thats shoe size btw....gutterminds
Okay i have 30 minutes to play. Morning again.
I'll bet if you call them and speak real sweet to them, they will rectify the error.
r u sur u tried all options? this game is gr8!
sorry, last message was for Sandy
Morning jera. Love your icon! I got Hannah's Daisy tunic yesterday - putting petals on today.
Still not got it Sandy? 3 + suffix for one who does something + rainbow
sweet went out the window a month ago, thats when all this started
Same here, musicmom... gotta clean house today or it will be unbearable this weekend!
Morning Jera.
Yep there is five gallons of joint compound waiting my assistance in the dining room. Need to get it done so I can paint.
Morning Jera!
im going to give up and have a coffee but im sure everyone else has got it by now
TSM, daddy needs a monkey dance later, kk?
Are you creating a textured surface, mm?
No I wish it was that fun. I'm fixing drywall that got damaged in wallpaper removal phase.
So after I put it on and it dries - I'm going to have to sand it -- YUCK what a mess
Good morning, my Queen! Hiya, Jen... coming out to our Cookie Booth tomorrow? Free samples!
Capone, yes of course darling
Alright, I'm off to the lists - are BJs stats up yet?
thank you boo bear
Musicmom... I have a Girl Scout idea I'd like to run by you...
XoXoXoX How is work today my love?
If I can get our taxes done, I am always up for free GS cookies!!! In the Starbucks shopping center we met at? And when?
Lots of work... Not into precision here; I'd go gloppy and try to convince others it was intentional.
TAXES UGH!!!! I just sent our check to the state. OUCH!
work? what wor/ can't get any done thanks to babble! your fault! 8p
Most of my Girls were never Daisies... what do you think of a Law Learning Workshop where we talk about each part of the Law, relate it to a petal/color & make a pillow with the petals on it??
grrr *what work
hehehe mab - I hadn't thought of that. hmmmmmm wonder what kind of fun design I can come up with.
hubby usually does ours. First time we have to pay state taxes (we were FL residents) AND 2 jobs for hubby from last year. What a pain in my ass
en7 and ra8? I'm getting cross-eyed here...
Yes, Jen... we're in front of Starbucks from 12:30-2:30, then over to Giant from 2:30-4:30... gotta lotta Cookies to move & we need the cash!!
en 7 - add a nice tr5/10 to help along a request
Jen AMEN!! Last year was my first year of being self-employed. I handled the fed part fine but screwed up on the state.
We will definitely try to make it! I think what I am going to have to do is rent a bunch of movies for munchkin so I can concentrate on the taxes.
ra 8 is a combination of the unusual ra4/4 and the ready to eat ri4/5
Jera - I feel your pain - I'll be at the Walmart tomorrow doing the same thing. Sarah can't find her sash since we moved. I've got to get her to do that so I can get it updated tonight.
Angel - en7 - to plead, ra8 = ra4/4+ri4/5 (seldom + mature)
Movies and a box of cookies -that should do it!
Got the en7, but no idea on the ra8. Got the first bit... Ah, I suck.
got them, thanks! that RA8 nearly broke my jaw...
(((Capone))) It's ok my love... not check your <beep>ing email! lol
Jera, Jen, I know just where you are meeting, I think, and am envious and more than a little wistful. Some day I'll get home again. Great idea, Jera, on selling cookies. I know you will have great success. (cookies, mmmmm...)
same here Angel
ktf - when fruit is ready to eat it is ri**. Or add part of a vegetable.
Haz, I have to laugh at myself -- I picked up on your ra8 clue with the "ununusal ra 4/4" and monkeytyped all kinds of impossible combos looking for a ra 4/4 that is hardly ever used... then I finally realized what you meant :)))
Thanks Haz. Will work on the bastard.
have the tr9...any clues for the other two?
Oh, we get ourselves into all sorts of trouble with these words!
Queen Mab, you hail from Northern Virginia? Wouldn't a DC Babblers Convention be a good excuse to come home??
morning all whats the theme?
I almost always miss the obvious ones anymore. Always looking for the obscure ones.
Tis St. Patrick's Day
kissmy... I love your icon... that's what we call my two kids...
People my BUTT and my legs are sooo sore from working out yesterday. I like I can hardly walk... I love it lol
the ge9 is something you need in the winter when the electricity goes off
I'm very happy for you TSM...
ge/9 a yes album from the 80's, big ge******* te/9 agent that can cause birth defects
don't lie TSM, we all know why you are sore.
DC is my home, um, was. I might could get to a convention there.
ge9. Woo! Never would have got that without help. Can you tell I'm a noob?
don't feel bad ktr, i needed a clue too.
I'm so jealous of the Brits getting together & hanging out... I want us to do something this side of the pond... more difficult with US so big...
We have meets on our board all the time. *grin* Had an international one in Paris last year. This year, NY.
lol jera thats what we call my cats... too funny
I never got around to finishing yesterday's puzzle... Thursdays are bad for Babbling...
Okay my time is up for a while. I'll be back after I do two walls.<G> See how disciplined I am?
Kissmy -- my cats have a thing1 that they play with- I tried to get a picture of Terri with it in his mouth for yesterday but he wouldn't be still. Okay now i'm leaving - really.
I don't understand the te0 clue. any way to break it down?
this one is a little more "theme" appropriate... why is this all i think off when someone says st patricks day? drink much?...*passes around glasses of green beer so she doesnt wallow in her sorrows alone* :)
te9, I meant, not te0...:)
ttfn mm, come back later
te9 = prefix for trillion + preposition + Mr. Hackman - last letter
its st patricks day?
An agent, such as a virus, a drug, or radiation, that causes malformation of an embryo or fetus = te9
te 9 - If you have the te5/10 relating to the earth, remove one consonant. Then add a preposition that sounds like a number, then add part of Mr Hackman's first name.
Yeah it is
SSsssshh! Capone! Don't tell them that! lol
tell them what?
Good St Pattys Day Everyone!
te= 1st part of an antibiotic ....cycline (change the last vowel to a round one + what DNA is made of minus last vowel.
(((( Fearie ))))
((((Toes and baby Toes))))

Brrr... gotta take a break & warm up with some housework... later, all
ge9 - or BJ has one for words in the grid
D*mn! No, that's off The Unforgettable Fire isn't it?
BBL, I gotta get to the gym before Kids in Motion (for son, not me LOL) is over.
anj - i can't place the song title... hi jacs!
ty une
its The Unforgettable Fire
clue for last ae6/18 anyone? It's my birthday today. Mum should have named me Pat!
Yup...had to go and dig the album out : / I should really get that on cd now.
ae6/18 - more ae5/10
ae what you do to your lawn
thanks anj! : ) hmmm stuck at 35 t's...
ae5/10 - hilltop home of a bird
Happy Birthday Hydra : ) T-Owl, Atalante got that...there are no lyrics on the vinyl apart from 'A Sort of Homecoming'
Thanks, Haz and Sherylr
I hate ae's - need the 1st 6 & the 7 ... anyone?
I loooooove U2
ty ata - so do i!
And thanks for birthday wishes, Anj. I thought the postie had nothing for me, then suddenly the letterbox clanged at 3 o'clock!
ae6 - add ra4/4 - and for the 7 make it the person who does the ae 6 ing
Ata, they lost me after Joshua Tree, and got me back at How to Dismantle... The bit in between missed my target : /
coo - I got the pi6/27
happy birthday, hydra!
Hydra, welcome to the new postal servicel. Of course, they alwasys deliver at 6am unless it's really important to you, lol!
yes hydra - happy birthday! see how many people are celebrating it! LOL!
thx, all - the magic "ask for a clue and you find it before anyone answers" set in...
Heeeello everyone! : )
howdy, lola!
Hi babe (((xx))) : )
Well, I've finished the grid, so should really head off and do something useful. Any clues needed before I go?
hi lola! : )
Hey babe! (((xx))) : )
congrats, haz!
actually, same here Anj. I got used to Zooropa and now I love it, but the others ... bleh. Love Atomic Bomb though and The Joshua Tree is probably my favourite album ever. We went to the Joshua Tree National Park last year, and the music *fits*, really really fits with the land and the heat and everythign
oh haz, before you go - the on7 and or6 please!
hi une and temple : )
or 6 - first three letters that of musical instrument or part of body. Follow that by three letters meaning to consume food.
Mmmmm....just put in onerier and Babble took it, went to check the meaning, and dictionary.com gave me "No entry found for onerier." - Have we found an error?
way to go, haz!
The on7 looks like a comparative adjective for the 'first' number.
david- quite often the word doesn't have a meaning listed in the dictionary. We're just glad of the points!
David - please don't give away the words. There are lots of them that the dic doesn't have a def for
Thanks haz! Thought I'd tried all combos after those first three letters
i don't know - i just still love them! maybe it's that for a long time there was not much going on musically, besides pop...maybe it's my growing up in the age of supergroups, and their being the only true one around...
Sorry, couldn;t think of a way to describe it, without giving the word away. So if dictionary.com and encarta don;t have it, what does it mean?
You're welcome - I'll head off now. Happy hunting!
on7/28 means more given to acting in opposition to others
Thanks, Jacula - in that case, the clue should be what my boss does best! :-)
hi jacs. Aaaah, so it is a word to describe my three year old then?? : )
I think it's some variant spelling of ornerier, as in more ornery
Amandacath - Correct. Hi Lola - Yes! LOL.
aarg - this stupid ar5/10 is driving me crazy. I've got the one where gladiators do their thing, what's the other one?
got 2 pi6 words - how many more should I look for?
3 more, david
david, pi4 x 1, pi5 x 2 and pi6 x 2 : )
Well, I'm down two 3 words now and I bet I'll need a fish slap for every one of them: an5/18 3rd re5/14 (not kingdoms or what a monarch does) 2nd tr4/4 (not the one found in an arboretum)
an5/18, cross! : )
Jac, you'll be very an*** at yourself for not getting this one!
AmandaCath - add a vowel to your ar4/4.
do you have tr4: a horse's gait?
cheers guys - much more fun than working, espec. on a friday!!
re5/14, add oil *** (found out to sea)
re - do again to sails
Need to nip out for a while - BBL : )
tr4/4, like the horse's gait but different vowel : )
I did need a fish slap for that 're'! Still looking for the other 2.
Thx, Jac - is that the latin plural or what?
Awww! : (
the neurotic office manager just told me that my boss disapproves of my taking ANY personal phone calls at work, and during the ONLY break i get in an 8 hour day, my lunch break, he also disapproves that i smoke in my vehicle and is mandating that i stop. I asked him if he owned my car and if he woulkd like to buy it for me because that was the only was he was going to stop me from doing what i wanted to do in MY car. He said ok
later, anj! :)
ive never had a convo with my boss go that was before, i actually won. thats what i call sticking it to the man
yo kiss! power to the people!
Got the 'tr' from your clue thanks, Lola. Can't actually find it in thr grid though! Never mind, it's on my list.
hiya everyone!!!!
thats what im saying! today is nationaL stand up to your asshole boss day
jacs, top right T to left hand one over the A : )
Woo! Go kissmy! :D
Hi bex! : )

Lola - Ah! I see it now. *Cleans specs.*
ALL DONE! Thanks for the clues.xxx
Yay! Well done jacs! : )
how bout the last ge6/24?
good job, jacs!
Does anyone need any clues before I get back to cooking and laundry?
ra7/36? : )
*sigh* I am so addicted to Babble...*sigh*
Jac, can I have a clue to the re7/28 Hi everyone, sorry been lurking trying to get the grid finished.
Last ge6/24 - One that rules or manages. (Think actor Richard, an officer and a gentleman, + the Nursing Times.)
ra7 - more ra6/24
Hi FMitch! : ) re7...run away! Or give a sweetie again : )
aaargh, thanks jacs, knew I was being dense! : )
ok, got it - strange. Thx.
H lola and many thanks! That was my last word woohoo!!
I'd better go and get some work done. Happy Babbling!
Yay! Well done sis! : ) 'bye jacs : )
Sis did you try yesterday's sudoku, it was a killer and definately not a medium level.
just finished today's sudoku. with a bit of guessing. I'm strange, I think, I found yesterday's a lot easier than this one ...
That is so strange Atalante, I guess it just highlights that our brains work in very different ways.
congrats, mitch! bye jacs - see yoou later! : )
Hi TO, how are you today?
I know! I'd really love to see how other people solve the same puzzle - I wonder how different people's methods are
Atalatnte, esp as 99% of the time there is only one solution to a grid.
sis, I did! And I managed to complete it...with a bit of swearing and cursing, lol! :D
Well done lola that is more than I managed.
thanks FMitch...but I think I just got lucky! : /
sis have you been in contact with lotti at all since she stopped babbling and I haven't seen macadam in a while or have I just not been on at the right time?
FMitch, no I haven't. Saw macadam a while ago though. I'm going to mail lotti tonight : )
Sorry about that, folks. The server decided to take a little nap.
thanks for tellin us i thought my computer had broken!!!
DG...you know we're not supposed to give computers human qualities!!!! They don't like that!!
Thanks for fixin it Dr_G
Lola I have to go now but say hi to her from me when you mail her. Prob see you here over the w/e.
FMitch, just have! I mailed her while I was waiting to get back into babble. 'bye, have a nice weekend : )
bye mitch! lola - is lotti ok?
temple, I think so...I'll let you know when I hear from her, okay? : )
ty lola - th way mitch said stopped babbling, it sounded like something happened...please say hello to her for me when you do... may i ask for a clue to the te9 if anyone has one?
you know, for someone who has a 'thing' for Cap'n Jack I miss the pi6/21 far too consistantly : /
Owl - I think it is some substance that causes birth defects. If that doesn't help I can break it down for you
temple, I spoke to her daughter on here at the beginning of the week and she didn't say anything was wrong. I told lotti we were all missing her and I'll tell her you said hi : )
DONE...anyone need a clue???
temple, te9...try te plus rodent plus what we breath without the x and y : )
ty amanda, lola: i kep trying to make the word for birth defect earlier...i didn't know there wre that manyt words in the world! : /
is anyone else having hassels with the site today? My chat log keeps showing an error message : /
Good clue, lola, for the te9 - ty
yeah, the server is being funky - I just realized it threw out 3 words I'd entered right before it went to sleep. Now I have to figure out what they were!
the clock that tells u how many hours are left is broken too!!!
yes - i've been on and off several times in an attempt to get it right
I've gotten the same message several times today, Lola, and I had difficulty getting back on the site, having left it for awhile.
Well at least it's not just me then : ) If I disappear in the middle of a conversation with someone I apologise in advance! lol : D
where did everybody go?/
quick! hide! kissmy is back! ; )
Yay! Done - anyone need anything?
*shhhhhh - we're hiding* : D
*whispers* temple, did she see us?? : )
I'm baaack - just got off the phone with one of my sisters 94 mins on the phone. We had lots to talk about. and I gave 198 words to go. tee hee*
Amanda - Congratulations!!!
((((Lola)))) *sprinkle*sprinkle* (green sprinkles today)
Yay! Well done amanda : ) Hi faerie : )
(((Temple))) *sprinkle*sprinkle*
hi faiiirrrieieeikaeee! that's how many words i have left too!!!
Oooo, green sprinkly sparklies! : )
hey got a quesiton about a word
((((Smaller)))) - we are doing really good today huh? LOL
Hi smaller : )
out with it then kissmy! : D
Kissmy - whats the question?
i figure my role on earth is to do crappily at many things to bolster others. i'm very good at it. it's my greatest skill.
hi Lola!! your name was in the grid the other day!!! how flattering!!! yay for Amandacath!
LOL Smaller - You are great at many things. I'm sure of that..Your a Mom.
smaller, that is not true :)
I really wonder about the 4 c-words - I have the c**** that can move a c**** around, unless it drops it and causes a c*****, but the fourth word escapes me completely.
(((Angel))) - Hi :)
smaller, I know! And my real name was in there yesterday! : D
awwww! that's so sweet, you guys! and just because of your kindness, i now have TWO words! yay me
Take the ending from the 'hole' and put 'on' another.
Lola, is dr G stalking you?
an amazing insight, smaller; I believe I understand myself in a new way. Thank you.
go Smaller, go Smaller your ahead of me now...lol
(((Faerie))) hi, hon :)
smaller, the thought had crossed my mind.... } )
Kissmy-we are waiting???
last cr has the same four letters at the "boxes"...+opp of "off"...
LOL mab! is it working? feedback helps my performance
faiiirkieaeeee, i'm at 13 now!!!! i'm a babble giant
kissmy, you're KILLING us!! WHAT IS IT?

Dang Smaller - your are zooming now.....whoosh...your fingers are a blurr you are typing so fast...lol
Have fun with the small person Lola...don't get wet.
later lola!
Top o the morning all.
those hints meant nothing to me right now - guess my brain fell asleep
No, smaller, I think that my mission in life is identical to yours. I feel so much better about myself now.
{{{{MusicMom}}}} Good afternoon!
hi music mom!!!! happy st p day!
Balker - children use a cr**** to colour in. The word you are looking for differs only in the fourth letter which remains the same as the box and the hole in the ground.
Happy St Pat Day. (((faer and smal))))
Mab, as i contemplate it further, I do believe Freud would call it reverse bullyism/productive victimization any thoughts?
Has smaller swallowed a dictionary?
aha! yeah, didn't know that word at all, thanks :)
LOL - Haz... I do believe she has.
Glad you got there in the end balker
Hi all :) Hows the grid looking today?
Or has she been kidnapped and replaced by a lookalike?
that one really bugged me, since there are so few possibles
Haz - I got it...thanks. 5 words now.....zoooommm
Hi Tiger
Nicely put smaller. I'll reflect on that, but it sounds plausible.
Tigereye - the grid is okay. Faerie and smaller are just eating it up.
Hi Tiger - my husband would love your icon.
*tee hee* yes we are. 6 words and still going.
It's a photo I took in Dublin last summer
Tiger - very cool
LOL Haz, yep and it isn't digesting so I'm burping up these gems!
Have you found ye olde English streetfight? ry4/6
Hi all.......
Hi cait
Hi caitlyn :)
A pint of Guiness is like an entire meal. A really awful meal. It is virtually syrup. But then I don't care or anything beer/lager like. Yech.
hi cait!
fr5/18 describes what you get at the top of Guinness.
Hi Cait
mmm
I totaly agree mab, but for st patrick's day i can cope with an icon
Guiness is excellent for making beer bread.
Oh yes. Guiness looks good to me. It's just that flavor thing....
Thanks again Haz...10 words.
mab when we went to Ireland a few years ago I was made to try the Guiness wow it was brilliant. But when i ordered it at home it tasted nothing like the other one
My phone has not stopped ringing today...what is up with that. Talked to Connie (sister) for nearly 2hrs and also to my friend Flash for 35mins. And 3 phone sales calls and I'll thinking of just letting it ring the rest of the day and not answer so I can get my work done here. LOL
did kissmyglass every tell us what she was going to say?
what, no terran? tsk
what's terran?
heheeh Faerie - do you have an answering machine? That's what they are for.
No Smaller she did not. Maybe she decided that we weren't smart enough to answer since we so few words. LOL
I think pigotry is a fine word.
i tried terran but not for any legitimate reason. is it actually something?
a terran is someone from earth
ohhhhhh
I'm worried that she has shot her office manager and she's been dragged off by the police....
Music-I do have an answering machine. I think I will let it do it's thing for a while...I'm just too busy to be bothered today. *grin*
That sounds like a great idea - I would hate for you to get behind on your "work".
LOL Mab! LOL Haz!
Haz - could be - maybe we should turn on the news..
well, made it more than half way now - not bad for a second language first timer ;)
time to go to work. I'll peek in later.....
Well done, balker! What is your first language?
go balker! hi to all joiners since ilast spoke! : D
Bye Angel - have a nice day.
bye angel.
danish
bye, angel! : )
Bye angelsong
Balker - what is your first language?
Terran isn't in the grid but terra is
you are doing well balker
Danish - then yes I would say you are doing great. Haz is the lady to ask for clues....I think she may be finished.
Yes, but you're not supposed to tell anybody!
should be clearer now ;) goth is also in the grid
Yes, I am finished.
Generator is a word but not generate?
Greetings All. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Generate is a word, the grid doesn't have enough e's for you to spell it though
Hillobeans, one of the rules of babble among those who use the chat log is that we don't post full words. Two letters only.
Smaller are you getting all this?
I'm not? Then why have a chat log because I thought this was to help people.
O Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling...
Minski Hi :)
hillobeans you are not supposed to put words into the chat log
The chat log is to help people, yes, but we give clues only, not full words.
It is, however people use it togive clues rather than actual words
Rat and Pig are words but it won't let me add them. Is this thing broken?
Hillobeans - we actually give lots of clues but not the words. Makes it a little more of a challange.
Words must be four letters or longer
Oh okay
Hi Minski! HI Sherb! faiirieiekae - ? oh....shame on you! you silly nut!
The grid only accepts four letter words and above. Otherwise we'd be here all day!
Now wait I saw at least three people give words earlier when I was lurking.
'tis ye mun go, and I mun stay...' Minski, who is the great artist who created your icon? It's darling.
hillobeans that was one of the clearest hints i ever had!
Haz, that's true b/c there are already a ton of nonsensical, babble-only words. i can't even fathom the volume 3 letter word options
In my case it wasn't on purpose Hillobeans - I promptly apologized!
Occasionally people do it by accident. Today we have had some new people who aren't used to the 'rules'.
hillobeans, sometimes it happens by accident too.
Jeffer - LOL
It took me forever to find a good different icon online. It's from a website with projects to do with children on St. Pat's Day.
http://www.enchantedlearning.c om/crafts/stpatrick/
hi smaller :D nice singing mab :D
It's very sweet.
Minski i love it !!!!!!!
Minski-you look like Mr Hat the hand puppet on South Park LOL
I see. Well at any rate I don't wish to tear away at the rules by spoiling the grid. Feel free to crane kick me in the face next time.
They call it potato face
Hillobeans - where are you from?
fairiekae! LOL!
Thanks Sherb. I made it a little more ethnic than one usually hears.
Wyoming, USA
I hear it is a beautiful State. Unlike Michigan where I am.
Hi everyone! I have police academy stuff to do, but I wanted to wish all Happy St. Patrick's day!
Hi Deutch
Deutsch - Happy St. Pattys Day!
happy St Paddy's Deutsch :D
Yes it is real treat to live out here with all these neat cowboys.
Hi Deutsch!
fotangeer should be a word
Welcome to the game hillobeans
hillobeans - you're putting more effort into putting words into the chat log than into the grid!
I bet it is. Would love to visit the state some day.
What pigotry, balker - that's not a word.
LOL Haz
Have ye ever been across the sea to Ireland ?.......... Top o' the morning to ye all!
mornin cnan
brb - need break from hobo
hillobeans, you're incorrigible, aren't you?
Morning cybernan
hi nan :D
gotta go baby's crying later dudes
My zebra is Irish. The icon is a movie poster for Zebra about a man from Tipperary who trains a 1/2 horse. 1/2 zebra to race in the Grand National.
Bye minski
Bye minski
hillobeans, i empathize COMPLETELY!
Very nice deutsch
I recognized it immediately, Deutsch. Well, no, actually not.
Yes it is. My husband and I are going to tour Fort Laramie tomorrow for our anniversary.
Deutsch - zebras get everywhere... amazing... :D
Not to pierant, but 'tis dinner time
ok, am I the only one humming 'The Man from Laramie... '?
can i have a clue for the en 7 & 8 pls?
thanks, musicmom LOL, Mab Yes, they do, Sherb!
Not at all, balker. Later.
Oh no. A stupid pigeon just pooed on my laundry that was on the clothesline. Better get it in gear and go clean up. BRB.
I'm back
hillobeans ... are you enjoying spoiling everyone else's fun? or is that just a side effect?
rolen: attach your prefix to an agreement between nations for the 8 and then shorten it by one letter for the 7.
thx mab...that was great
take your time hillobeans...
I'm back. Did I spoil someones fun? I'm sorry.
missed you faerie:-))
Sherb - Thanks .lol
Not at all rolin. I think hillo has been at the green beer for awhile already today.
I did not answer the phone MusicMom...*grin* you know what I was doing *tee hee*

teehee the same thing I need to do and I haven't been hitting the green beer. brb.

I haven't started to drinking yet. But I am about to enjoy a nice gyro sandwich and a glass of fresh pear juice.
so you have no excuse then ... !
back - thanks for that clue on the ae
Thanks, Rolin
What am I doing wrong?
could you only find the easy words hillobeans?
someone better contact dr god
ata - bet the irish mythical creatures can kick the scandinavian mythical creatures's ass every time! X D
I was just thinking the same thing rolin.
Hillobean - thats enough. Please for the rest of use who would like to play this game without some else being a distrubance would be nice. Clues are great but please try not to use any more of the words in your chat.
Irish people rule!
I think dr_god is on the sudoku site
e-mail sent.
Ok, I will just shut up then. Don't want to hurt anyone.
Thanks haz.
does anyone have the last ne4? i just can't see it...
Thanks haz this is getting worrying
to try a double vowel in the middle and use the numbers. stupid word.
ne4/5 - Scottish word for turnip. Ends in letter that sounds like a vegetable (round and green)
Your not hurting anyone your just not supose to use the words that are in the grid in your chat. Accidents do happen and words are sometimes used before we actually know they are there. Please just try to play the game and exchange clues "not words"
popped over to sudoku - will grab Dr_G if he's on the log
*grabs Smallers hand* it's going to be alright Hon don't be afraid.
grrr.....i know that! just oculd not see it! and speaking of turnips - don't fee the scandinavian mythical creature!
supper time... later folks :D
Bye Sherb.
bye sherb!
Hurry back Sherb - no wait - bring some back for me.
bye sherb

Bye Cait - be safe and have fun.
Bye caitlyn, sherb... Hi hurshy. What a lovely shade of green.
thanks mm, i always have trouble seeing the ones that cross over themselves
ME TOO!!!!
thanks mab - it's a field of clover
bye caitlyn- hi hurshy
hi temple
bye cait
sigh, there are just too many possibilities - clue for ar6?
hurshy..ar +bottom
drat, it was a real word. thanks rolin :)
hey guys..don't you think most times a troll will leave if you ignore - or just stop chatting for a while?
TO-yes...
Great hurshy now I feel really slow. All I can think of for bottom is tush.
mm - took me a bit to think of what it was too :)
Musicmum try Ar + back rather than bottom
MM-it is what you sit on...
ar 5/10 (last one)?
it would be neat if there were a "d" b/c i've typed "gonad" a couple of times
I'm going to need a barrel of fish when I find this = aren't I?
lol Smaller
cnan, you prob don't want the last one, you prob want latin pl of the prev 4
mm - if a car hits you from behind you've been ____-ended
thanks Hurshy ----- like I said a barrel please. sheesh and crimeny
MM-think of the ****end of a car. or I'll kick your ****
right on, Hurshy! -- thanks.
thanks faerie maybe I should play pictionary today instead
Thanks for the 5/10 too Hursh.
yw all around :)
a very quick note: I've added my instant messenger contact information to the resource page, and I don't mind IM's.
Thanks Angel :)
Hi guys, I'm back : )
hi lola! :)
I'm just not into this today. I can't stay focused. I feel like I should be doing house work or yard work (too cold to do yard work) think I'll through a load of laundry in and do some dusting. I'll be back a little latter. Our intruder really ticked me off.
Hey hursh! : )
Bye faerie - I understand. Have a good afternoon.
Speaking of which - I probably should not have said anything but I just couldn't stop myself.
aww, don't be gone for too long faerie! *sprinkles some of her extra faeirie dust on faerie*
Thanks Lola - bbl
argh.... en6? i know the points should help but i'm still not seeing it
I don't have it hurshy.
Me neither --- wasn't any better with the ep's.
huh, weird - it doesn't accept "negro" but awhile back we had a flap about it accepting ni6... what's up with that?
en6/24 - en + gi4, meaning circled around
vi to the rescue!!!
That's what I always hear, everywhere I go. Ha ha.
What is up with that indeed.
Thanks Vi!
mab - you were the one who was most upset about the ni6, weren't you?
Has Anj been back today?
Yes.
Yes, hurshy. I don't know, lola.
i've only been here about half an hour, lola... haven't seen him in that time
vicuna! thanks! ni6? there's not ni in the grid?
ep7 - ends with go4 meaning not here any more. For the ep6, remove the last letter.
Hi everyone again! Negro is usually capitalized
smaller - referring to an old puzzle, sorry
It was, smaller!
Need to take a break and go back to working on dining room walls. Be back later.
hi deutsch! : )
'bye mm : )
amazing that there can be 199 words with no s
Hi Lola, I'm an Irish Zebra today!
*gasp* i think i know what you're talking about now. oh my. that word counts? oh tha's horrible
*lola quickly refreshes to see this incredible phenomenon!*
Oh helllllp! Can I get a clue for the last re5/14 (the one before the 7/28)?
I refused to enter it. My great stand on the issue.
it is, smaller, as are several other offensive words. but, as we said at the time - it's a computer, it doesn't know.
It's a movie poster for Zebra, about a man from Tipperary who raised a 1/2 horse, 1/2 zebra to race in the Grand National
*...is a little disappointed that the said zebra isn't drinking a pint of guiness....* He's cute deutsch, but irish?
*sings* it's a long waaaaay to tipperary...
and deutsch explains while I was posting! lol : D
It's a long way to go...
Thanks for the ep's, Vicuna.
You're welcome!
Lola, well, it is a bit of a stretch! LOL
on the contrary deutsch, you are always very creative with your icons! : )
i think it's a great way to get the theme and your personal theme in, deutsch!
Nonsense Deutsch, zebra goes with everything!
please guys, this last re5/14 is diving me nuts!
*Blushes* Thanks, Lola (((Lola)))
jen, add oil*** (found out to see or in Texas) : )
hi again, lola! i have to go - BB tonight! have fun! may the words rise up to meet your fingers ! LOL!
jen - sorry, not there yet...
nevermind...
aaargh..SEA not see!!!
hi again temple! 'bye again temple! see you later : ) lol
I hate to leave, but the future police officers need to learn how to write! Happy babbling!
pi 5/12?
'bye deutsch : )
cnan - i think it is a think rock climbers use - they stick it into the rock and use it as a handhold
Somebody has to do it, Deutsch. Bye.
cyber, pi plus large weight : )
Bye deutsch
lol, i think it is a think
pi5/12 - a metal spike used in rock climbing. Add a suffix for a town.
or....a painting or sculpture of the Virgin Mary holding and mourning over the dead body of Jesus.
Ooh, didn't have that one, lola. Thanks.
Thank you both (mary clue gave it to me)
there are two diff ones, cnan, did you get both?
cybernan, there are two of them. Lola's clue is a different word from the othr clues.
yes, I had the other one.
grrr, how am i supposed to get or6 and on7 with no other words around them???
ooh, monkeyed the on7
on7 is apparently an alternate spelling of more contrary and difficult to deal with. (Normally it would be spelled orn...)
hursh, the or is a strange one. Take or and add 'the ***** gatsby* but leave out the second letter : )
that IS weird, thanks lola
and thanks vi :)
tr9, anyone?
ooh, there's a tr9 - good to know...
tr9, someone who attempts something and round doorway : )
tr9 - captain of a Greek warship, start with one who attempts and add a monument of triumph
what about the pe5/16 shortly before the pe8?
sorry hurshy, don't have that one : /
ty vicuna for the tr biggie
me neither
got it. thanks Lola and Vicuna
I have two pe5/16's but I don't have the 8 so I'm not sure if either are the one you want
well there are three, and i have the adj related to the things you find in scotland, and the flower, do you have a different one?
For the pe think of what might be slang for the arctic bird.
pe8, pe4/5 and ar4/6 : )
The first is the boggy 4/5 plus sometimes vowel and the second a flower
Some really strange words -- thanks for the tr Vicuna --- is it just me or is the grid unusually difficult today?
nooo! Thanks mab : )
te9? I always have trouble with 8 and above words...
lol, thanks mab, that is so funny
te9, te plus rodent plus what we breathe without the x and y : )
I'm not finding it TOO bad today, but it's really never safe to give that opinion with a quarter of the words still left to find!
lovely clue lola
that's the one, mab ty
thanks lola. thats a hard one! i would've never figured it out...
i have 26 to go, all r's and t's
aww, thanks hurshy : )
walnut, me neither if it hadn't been for some great clues earlier! : )
I was really struggling with your clue, lola... until I realized I was trying to make a ti9. Sigh... (I've got the te now.)
vicuna, lol! Don't you hate it when that happens and everyone else is getting it! : D
2nd pe 5/16: writing implement + opp. stop
wow, i didn't realize when i had 26 r's and t's that it was exactly half r and half t! 13 t's to go!
at 5/12 (last at)?
at - same first 4 letters, make the points work
cnan - i'm bored staying at home, i think i'll take a t***
oops, sorry, my clue's for the wrong one!
i thought goth was a word...
thank you.
tried it too, ellocin :)
clue please for the last re5/14?
mary, put up the sails again
words, words, words....... some you think are there aren't, some you think aren't are, and some that are are not.
And some really should be. I vote to make "pigotry" a word. It isn't quite bigotry, but I think we've all encountered it...
lol, cnan, that comment almost made me dizzy. i'm done!
I'm back, everyone!!!!! Still haven't caught me a leprechaun...... Still trying to get me hands on that pot o' gold......
vicuna, I agree! : ) Yay! Well done hurshy! : ) Hi movieman! : )
Hey movieman, thanks for keeping us posted on the leprechaun deal. Are you finished with the grid?
mab - nowhere near finishing, kept losing the connection to the web (I have wireless broadband)......
congrats, Hurshy!
I used pigotry earlier today, Vicuna. It goes nicely with ywis, I think.
Back again...
ok, off to sudoku now... see some of you over there, perhaps
Hurrah hurshy!!!!!! Yes, movieman, the site was down and out for a bit earlier.
Any other clue for the re5/12, can't make out the sails one.
There's no rest, is there, hurshy!
*lola throws her arms around Anj and gives him lots of kisses* Missed you babe! :' )
Later hurshy.
Mary, find the word for "tear again" which it won't give you, then move over one to the right for the last letter!
ri 7?
me too mary!!! i have NO idea.
Thanks babe : ')
oh looky there! thanks again, vicuna!!!
ri7: something that will help the ri5 process go faster
My pleasure, smaller!
pe8, pe7/40?
Thanks, got it, follow Vicuna clue
pe8 - one of five joint rulers
Thanks w--chen --- wouldn't "sun" just be a lot easier? lol. Don't think some of these words are ever used.
cyber... Hmm. didn't think of that.. was thinking more along lines of nitrates or fertalizer..... Yeah, sun would be much easier.
cnan, I think we WISH the ri7 used on most of our fruit was the sun! Yikes!
did you get your mail babe?? xx
Did anyone remember that today ios National Pajamas Day, too? ...not just St. Paddy's?
*scuttles off to read mail*
pe 7/40?
Don't have it walnut ........... er 6/18 (have the one meaning gone astray)?
so now we need a leprechaun in pj's?
er6/18 - section in a newspaper where they print correction to previous issues
I'm glad you spelled leprechaun first!!!! *S*
Thanks again, Vicuna -- had thought of it, but didn't see it, so didn't try it.--- guess that'll teach me!
pe7/40 - a 360 degree angle, but starts with previous pe4, ends with suffix for a geometric shape
thansk vicuna
robrob, national pajama day? do they have to be green?
yw, all
can someone give me a clue for the ra 5/10 after the ra8 pls..
probably should be...today...But the third Friday in March is not always a green day. Clean better than green!!!!
got it..
and...."pajamas" means different things to different folks! (Pyjama for the UK crowd)
robrob, and how do you know it's pajama day? is this YOUR decree?
smaller...I just promote things...never decree!!! I'm sure that somewhere...someone...somehow. ..has thought of this, too...not just me!!!
and..it has nothing to do with me wanting to walk into a room full of women wearing nighties!!!!
promote? hmmm... didn't hitler say that too? and hugh hefner?
of course not rob..... ; )
If its pyjama day we wouldn't be wearing nighties :p
of course not, rob. paragon of purity, you are. oooo I just channeled Yoda.
ra 5/10: material used in wicker work.

lola that was funny - can i have a clue please? ra 8/45
Still friends, Lola..... Still very much friends......
ra8, ra4 plus ri4. Opp of common and what fruit should be before you eat it : )
i doubt the wordiness of that one :)
that's not a word! } /
LOL! Snap Leslie : )
Lola - whre the hell do these words like the ra8 come from...... Mars.......?
whoa! and it has a meaning too ty
Movieman, Garden Centres by the looks of the definition : /
Oddly enough, it is a word. Just means a fruit that ripens early. Evidently ..
LOL! No idea! : D
hey tor! : )
I doubt even horticulturalists and fruit-growers use the ra8.....
Hi kids ..
we'll have to ask tbear if she's around later! : )
Hi Groucho, I mean torgone......
ra8 means there is a word that starts with ra and is 8 letters? sorry, i'm new :)
Right, so if r8 is a word, why won't it accept tartare, as in steak ? That's not capitalised... : ?
Hi Torgone!
...it likes the sauce tho babe! ; )
Howdy Anj! Movieman, you need to refresh ..
yep, jason, and if we say ra 4/5, it means a word that starts with ra, is 4 letters, and worth five points
Nice! thank you...
my biggest word is 7 :( you guys are killing me
I've just refreshed, torgone, and it looks like you're a day behind with your icon.....
welcome jason! Yup, ra8/45, word beginning with ra, 8 letters long with a point score of 45 : )
that's great, jason... i only have an 8 because of lola's clue!
Back again! Dining room is completely mudded and drying.
jason, here's a welcome pressie for you then...ge9/66, what kicks in when the electricity fails : )
hi mm! : )
wow! big word. thanks lola :)
Correct. I haven't changed yet. And this is one of my favorite photoshops.
Hi jason are you new? Glad to meet you. Stick with it - it gets easier. Lots of great help here too.
Mud in the dining room? Sounds like a Genesis lyric.. : )
very monochrome this evening... hi folks :D
haha i was wondering, torgone... i was like, i don't remember the cat in the hat having back...
hi sherb! : )
Yes, sherb, it's very green...... Either everyone's feeling very eco-conscious, or it's St. Patrick's Day...... Can't decide which.....LOL

okay, I give up. What is the at5/12??...please : )
Heya bex! Refreshing to have a new yougster in the group ..
torgone, you're almost in the grid
Anj - you don't want to get me started about the ignorant people who lived here before us. A simple paint job has turned into a nightmare.
bex are you finding the game easier with the stats panel?
Lo, if you go on a journey you would be taking at... : )
Lola - a+ journey.....
Torgie works ...
yes thanks!!!! i am stuck on the y's though if anyone wants to help me!!!
on7 or or 6?
*mutters* stupid word. Thanks guys! : )
M-mom, so you thought you'd bought a Renoir and ended up with a Pollock? : )
There is a cartoon bear by the name of YO4 bear.
or6, or plus 'the ***** gatsby' less the second letter : )
Exactly. Or we thought it was the taj mahal but it is really a cardboard box on Broadway.
Thanks, Lola
on7, it means mean spirited. Sounds like more of the first number? : )
or6 - sounds like an invite to a Roman romp : ) *Hail, there's an or..... Roberto's place tonight! Bring a wineskin..." : )
LOL! I like Anj's clue better! : D
M-mom, ah, Money Pit : /
Basically. Fortunately the two contractors we have had here recently said it isn't anything structural or unsafe - just a pain in the re**
I like Anj's clue also.
More work that you were planning then M-mom, but nothing terrible : )
I have two words left -- struggling with both...... on 7? -- didn't get anywhere with the more first # clue pe 7 (last one)?
Exactly and nothing that is an emergency. I'm just a major type a personality and try to undertake it all at once.
im stuck with on7 as well
cyber, on7 on plus tv medical drama plus 'me' vowel plus tv medical drama : )
B*!!$ I thought pitot was a bona fide word but it's capitalised : /
Ty lola. I can never say or spell that word.
Thanks, lola -- got it -- just have the pe 7/40 left.
pe7, fruit plus consonant plus that tv medical drama again : )
Found it and I am done!!!!!!!!
jeeze, does anyone have any idea what on7 even means? ;)
M-mom, you and both on that score : ) WTG C-Nan : )
yay! well done cyber! : )
jason, mean spirited apparently : /
I wonder how Ace is making out -- sounded a bit bewildered and none of us were much help!
Whooohwooooooooo Erin Go Braugh C-nan
jason, how did you find babble? Are you from iron sudoku? (lola is the nosey one here!) : )
Off to fill my growling tummy --- slainte! :)
funny, on7 is kind of the opposite of pe7 or pe5/12 :)
bye c- nan
'bye cyber : )
finally finished the T's...
lola: i found this through a blog, evhead.com
I'm immersing myself in the grid for a while.
jason, you're gonna be signing up for pro status before you know it ; )
haha. i have 777 points. i really want to know what i *could* have :)
so yes.... very tempting to go pro :)
jason, if you click babblers anonymous link to the right, then general, then stats, there are the details of what you can get
Hi all another late start for me - whats this one like?
jason, if you go to the babblers anonymous link (top right hand corner) and look under general you'll find a stats posting. Gives you second letter list and points : )
jason - I only played for one and a half grids before I went pro. I definitely have never regretted it.
snowy! ((x)) How are you? : )
hi snowy :D ...it's slow for me tonight, but I'm tired...
Snowy - Absolutely horrible!!!!!
snowy - my friend s is missing today. i'm struggling.
Hi Snowy : )
snowy - 199 with no S...
Aww, go on jason, go pro! You get a stats programme and a flag and a handbag (and we need more guys round here!) : )
It's always much easier when there's either an s, ed, or ing in the grid.....
I'm gonna laugh if jason is a girl.
hursh! did you tame the beast?? : )
I'm Ok thanks, the usual creamcrackered at the end of a long week &3 of the littlies are here.
no, def not a girl :) go to my name.com! that'll prove it! :)
creamcrackered - love that phrase.
mm-OOPS! I always assume too much....lol! : D
yes lola, finished sudoku :)
It's okay Lola - i did the same thing just teasing ya.
well done hursh! How was it?? : )
LOL MM it's a good one isn't it? Says all you need to say without being too rude!
not bad, lola, not bad
Think I'll use it when Greg gets home tonight<G>
bex? were you looking for another hint?
Help with the na5 that ISN'T the snazzy one......
movieman - slang for "of course"
ty's please i have one but dunno what it means
movieman, short version of a word for drugs (think US tv shows, the na*** squad) : )
Ta, hursh....
ep 6/27 and 7/40 have me beat clue please?
ty - one is ms. daly - one is ty + no ifs ands ** buts, backwards
*sigh* movie, that was for the na4! Sorry! The 5 rhymes with how a chick gets out an egg : )
ep6 - ends as if it's a shape ep7 - add vowel to ep6
let me know if you don't get it, bex
hurshy? pe5/12, pleeeaase : )
Is there a way to see which words come from which letter?
jeffer, ep plus word like the I....s that come from the Uberwald in TP's Discowrld - "alwayth willing to lend a hand thur" and change the last letter
pe 5/12 - like what beats inside you or pe 5/12 - rhymes with asian country ko5
thanks hurshy : )
yes, tigereye. a word will count as coming off the first letter it could possibly come off of, left to right, top to bottom.
anyone help with the re7 please?
re7 - beat a hasty re7
(so, you have to think about it carefully, tigereye)
many thanks, Hurshy
hey I didn't know that - thanks Hursh.
Thanks hurshy
i don't know if it says that officially anywhere, it's something i figured out myself.
any help with a few ae...s

hurshy, you're a bit scarey sometimes....
ae4 - long period of time ae6 - put bubbles in ae7 - the thing that puts bubbles in ae5 - eagle's nest ae6 - more ae5

ae 6 - to get more air ae7 - the machine that does that (think ponds or wells)

Hi Evan.
eewww, is that what it really means, lola? ick. ((((bex))))
heh, i already feel flattened today...hows about a Friday inFlation? *yawn*
The ne4/5 is slang for turnips......
um, I have two words left and can't see for looking anymore. At the risk of looking like a complete idiot....ra5/10 and ra6/24, the first two after ra8/45, please?? : )
oh, turnips doesn't sound as gross as something unidentified that you eat mashed with haggis.
ra5 = ra + what you get from the sun at the beach ra6 - add sometimes vowel
help please with the tr9/66 it is aluding me ....as are so many others!!
movieman, thay are turnips? I thought they were a whole veggie on their own...lol! (spot the foreigner...who has never eaten ne4's!) : D
tr9 = one who attempts + round-topped doorway
ty ty ty guys ae...s kill me every time
me too, kiss... i am awful with words that start with vowels for some reason.
tr 9/66 - combine tr5 (one who attempts) with ar4 as in Marble **** in London.
thanks hurshy *lola wallops herself twice with the fish* And I'm done! : )
Hello everyone......yeah ne4s and tatties
wOOt! babe : ) slow dance? } )
lola, those weren't fish-worthy!
The traditional Burns' night supper consists of haggis, potatoes and mashed turnip (ne4)
Hey, hey it's the tBear : )
Mmm, thought you'd never ask! } ) xx
congrats lola!
tbear we have a question for you
silly me, i thought working at home would be more relaxing... but the connection to the work server was moving at a snails pace, so i had to work twic as hard to create the same results!
hursh, the ra6/18 should have made me think of them : /
as a plant person, have you ever used the word ra 8/45? if not, we're declaring it not a real word
Haz ...here we are again ...you helping me...i have the tr9 now thank you
tbear! ((x)) : ) How you doing?
It's me......da bear!!

now which lovley person wants to help me with the tr 9?
i have 28 words!!!! did u finish sudoku?
That's okay, Mo - glad to help!
LeslieAnn...only just got here so I'll get back to you in a tick...
yes, i did finish sudoku, bex. there are tr9 clues just down the log a bit. :)
Hi tbear! Anyone else having trouble with this site over the last few days? The chat log has frozen a lot
bex, clues at 3:03 and 3:04
yesterday, yes, snowy - dr_g was faffing about with the server a bit (look at me, using the british slang)
snowy, yes! I had hassles this afternoon but it's fine now, so just hang in there! : )
hurshy, lol! : D
ino but i dont understand the first bit!!
off to check out sudoku, back later : )
Hi Snowy :)
bex 3 prefix+medical drama on tv+the thing a rainbow makes in the sky
oh, bex, the first bit rhymes with where you put your clothes after they go through the washing machine
bex, three-letter prefix for three + hospital tv show (two letters) + ar 4/6
I'm glad it isn't this ancient excuse for a computer!Sorry if I missed anyone in the hi's Congrats Lola!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
still confused !!!
LeslieAnn give me a clue to that ra8/45 please and I'll let you know
are you starting at the top T, bex?
i have the ar
ra8 - unusual + ready fruit
Bex - take a deep breath - find some other words and come back to the clues. Your brain is muddled:-)) Happens to me all the time.
yep!!
compound word - ra 4/4 + ri 4/5
ok, bex, go down-left, then down, then up-right twice, then down...
yey got it with the directions!!! thanks evryone i have never heard of it!!
Does the last at5 (the very last at) start with the a in the upper rh corner?
oops lh corner?
yes mm
ty

LeslieAnn...never heard of it,can't even find my magic name book...sorry
Right, that's it then, the ra8 is COMPLETELY made up!!!!
haha not a problem tbear! we were all just saying we didn't think anyone had ever used that word! someone suggested checking with you :)
evening all can anyone please give me a clue for the 3rd re 5/14
Nice to be remembered :)
right, it's official now :)
hi ruthy! I agree with the sentiments expressed re the ra8, that cannot be a real word!
ruthy - add a word that can be attached to oil, can be used to fix elections, or describe a sail on a boat
went to sodoku for a break... that was a mistake...
ty haz
A break? Numbers?
it was supposed to be medium... huh...
Words are the way forward.
i don't think the difficulty levels are quite right sherb... i'm finished some of the hard ones but not the easy ones
I'll second that Haz! Only maths I ever felt comfortable with was algebra because it had letters!
thanks LeslieAnn... that makes me feel a bit better :D and Haz, I agree, words over numbers, and I love numbers...
words and numbers... everyone read the phantom tollbooth now :)
Any help with the first en5/10 and both er?
hiya leslie - i'm with you, for some reason the 'hard' ones seem much easier than the 'medium', of course the easy ones are a snap, lol
en 5/10 related on the mother's side (i think!) er6 - latin for mistakes er6 - adj, off-track, ...like, an "er6 knave!"
bex - need any clues?
er - think of a pupil who has gone astray for the first one. er - add a rodent then a vowel.
got all three of them Thanks! Hurshy - you were right on the def for en.
how about the on 7?
Off to sew GS patches. DOn't know if I will ever finish today.
bex - first number + last four letters of that tr5 that started the tr9
Good day, All! can I have a clue for the ge 9, please?
ge9 - when the power goes out, it's nice to have this backup
thanx, hurshy!
i know thta when i type in ge/9 it works buti tried to follow it letter for letter in the puzzle...dead end unless im missing something
oh nevermind scratch that last post i was definetly going the WRONG way...lol
kiss, the fifth letter (r) is in the top row, middle... i had the same problem!!
Cluez for the re5/14 plz..... I have two of them, (the re+oil platform) & the one without a def....... What's the other....
hey everyone - great job! on all your icons - it's like going to an art fair - i just love the variety & the creativity - thanks!
to rule as a king or queen
helen do you recognize mine? don't think anyone else has yet...
Thanx yet again, hursh..... You really have been my saviour tonight....
what's the re 5/14 without a def?
it is some kind of word related to queen, jeffers - latin i think
OMG leslie - i was looking at it earlier & couldn't make it out, so small & i was focusing on the buildings - but now i know - i mistakenly thought the green was grass! i'm such an idiot, cause i knew it was something here but i couldn't figure it out -IT'S THE DARNED RIVER!!!!! LOL!!!!!
excellent choice leslie :)
haha that's pretty funny helen
LeslieAnn-Just came on, surfing for clues. Is that Chicago river dyed green?
i feel like such a fool!!!!, but i'm glad you were here & you asked me, it would have bugged me!!
yep!
leslie - where is that shot taken from?
i dunno - it's not mine, i just googled for pics of it
i thought the shorter white building in the back was the sun-times, but then the ibm building would be behind it & it's not there, no matter, i can rest easy now
here it is bigger: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/718247 0/
yep, every year a huge debate rages over whether or not to dye the river - environmentally safe, etc. but with a mayor named daley . . . need i say more
hurshy can you expand on the re 5/14 with no definition?
jeffer - add the beginning of g4 (bug)
lol helen
hurshy - how did you make that combo work! thanks
leslie - you know what - that pic is backwards, lol - that IS the ibm building in the foreground (i used to work there, met the old ball & chain there, lol) & that IS the sun-times, but i kept thinking that there was no large stretch of grass there - lol, i just slay myself! mystery solved
Finished, at last...... *Invites others to join him in the doneness dance*

An agent, such as a virus, a drug, or radiation, that causes malformation of an embryo or fetus
is that the 9 or the gr?
looks like the Olde English version of the crotch area! :)
crotch is the gr
what?!
the definition is the te
bex, the first clue une gave is the te9, the second is the gr6
did you find the an's, bex? and what about the fo's i suggested?
ok how about an easier clue!!!! im smiling really hard!!!
easier clue for the gr? i thought that one was pretty good, no?
bex - the nice thing about long definitions for clues is that if you copy the whole thing into google, it will often give you the word :)
une - bex is 14...
ooohhh, i thought that was a reference to the gr6
hey i'm 25 and i still can't get the crotch clue!
sorry, bex!
you know, leslie, the muscle boys don't like to pull...
eee your right hurshy i got the answer!!! i wasnt really cheating i wasjust getting help!!!
lol bex
the gr6 starts out g + Siegfried & *** (*** is the Las Vegas showman who was attacked by the tiger during the act on stage)
Just checked the rankings, and I'm no. 114 on the Cream o' the Crop list, 71st on the Village Elders list, and no. 123 on the Who's Hot list....... What about everyone else......
how do you know your rank movieman? did you count?
just click on Player Rankings
crotch is not a word to type into google.
Leslie - I used CRTL + F to highlight my name on the list, then I counted down.....
aha! i rule the crotches! ok, that might have come out wrong...
2 milesdown on each!!!!
LOL, I bet!
mm - no, i was referring to googling the te9 definition :)
but don't worry bex, if there were a "who's lovable" list you'd be at the top.
hehehee I know - I was looking for the gr6 though. Bad idea...
Anyway, gotta go now..... Happy Babbling to everyone else who's still struggling, and I'll see you all on the morrow...... Seeya.......
you don't have to do that--your player ranking is in blue at the top of each column
i have 36 nwords now!!!!!
bye, movieman!
bex, you have te4, what you are?
congrats, bex!
unea, it just says my score... not ranking (like, i'm 132nd or something)
no dont think so!!!
Gail, r u on?
bex, you're four____
AHHHHH!!!! i get you now!! i thought i was the thing u put up in a field and i was thinking how am i one of them!!!!!

yes!!!!
did you have the fo's i suggested earlier?
I need the ra 8 to finish, anyone have it?

couldnt see that clue but just seen the compliment u made me before about the lists thanks!!!!
ok, try fo5 - to fake a signature, and fo6, person who does that
UGH any help on the og? If it was a recent request I don't mind looking back in the log.

Musicmom - thanks for great clues...
last tr4/4 - I fell on that one, too, earlier. It's not obvious this time. Think of the tall, woody plant and then change the last letter to a consonant. (One that sound like a much-lovefd British drink.)
thanks for great clues, jacula

hitting the hay -- 5am comes mighty early. be safe,
hi everyone! before i get booted off - again- may i have clues for the ae7/28 and fo4/7 please?
Happy St. Pat's day all -- clue please for the pi 6/21 and the pi 5/12 that follow the bird please? Also looking for either of the two na 5/14 s that follow the slang for 'of course'.... boy, it's a long day today! Really working at this one, and it seems like it's the easier ones that are slipping through my grasp... or should I say gasp? (I'm verrryyyy sleeeepy)
templeowl, the ae 7/28 is the kind of thing you would put in your fish tank to make air bubbles. A machine.
templeowl, if you mean the fo4/7 between the military building and the little green amphibian, then you have the first 3 letters ... just add the second vowel.
as a noob, can someone explain what ae 7/28 is?
newbie -- how many words are there in this puzzle?
I don't know
oh i think i know -- the 7 is number of letters, 28 is points score I think...lol
and the ae?
ae is the first two letters of the word
199 words in todays puzzle
a seven letter word that starts with ae? I may be in way over my head here... Thanks for the help though!
quality, don't get discouraged -- you can scroll back through the log to find clues (sometimes more than one) and also ask for clues. There is also a fantastic list of the first 2 letters of each word and their points at the Babblers Anonymous link on the right-hand side of the screen. That link has lots of resources too.
AE7- something that pumps air in!
thanks circe egad only half way there quality 26 - some of the words are very obscure, but you would know that particular one
thanks ch1212. this is day two of being here for me
199 words in today's grid but still possible to finish in the time given, if you go some.
Still waiting on any clues for the na 5/14s that follow the slang for 'of course', and the pi 6/21 and pi 5/12 that come after the bird ... please! Pretty please! And thank-you!
hmmm..I have the 6 letter, but the 7 is elusive...
na 5/14 -- only one i have means 'dapper'
na 5/14 - stylish (slangy word) pi 6 - arrr, matey pi 5 - metal spike used in rock climbing
pi 6/21 - ahoy matey
anyone else having trouble with the site? need 1st fo4/7... pi6 buccaneer pi5 what rock climbers use
fo 4/7 - you might use an ae7 in it
templeowl, the style of type we use in Word is the fo 4/7 :)
Thanks hurshy and ilandrah! Got the pi's (groan, can't believe I missed those!) ... and figured out the stylish na 5/14. Still plunking away for the other.
ch1212 - there are only 2 na 5/14s
Can I please have a clue for the last re14?
ge9/66? ge5/14? struggling to finish before site goes down for me again
ge9 - if you have a power outage you would use this to get electic.
!!!! Yikes hurshy! Thank you! Pays to pay attention occasionally to the list. (Grins sheepishly.) Well, gee then ... how about a clue for the re5/10 that follows the 'behind' AND the re 5/14 after that one that is NOT what the king does. Please?
re5/10 - re + 3 letter word for eaten except change the last letter to a different vowel. Still looking for the last re5/14 :(
Found the re 5/10! (thanks, Dianne!) Now just need that last re 5/14 that follows... (not what the king does)
re 5/10 showed an episode again re 5/14 add beginning of g4 (bug)
ge 5/14 - ge4 (dna) plus consonant
hurshy, thank you thank you thank you! Dianne, you want the re followed by what digs for oil out on the sea ... an oil r**
dictionary.com doesn't have that one ch1212...
it works, but it isn't in the dictionary..
that does happen, quality
quality - you aren't by any chance a williams grad?
ch1212 - how come I coulldn't see that? I've been looking for that word for an hour. Thank you so much. Finished now so i can pay back for all the help I've gotten. Ask away :)
makes it harder... ;)
dianne - i am reading a book that takes place in hong kong.
I am not
Hurshy - what book?
ah...it's just i had this friend whose middle initial was Q, and when i asked him what it stood for he joked "quality" and i always called him christopher quality after that.
I am off for the night. Thanks for all the help!!
oh, dianne, it is "mrs. pollifax and the hong kong buddha" by dorothy gilman.
Diane, that one has had many stumped today... I only found it by scrolling for clues, and it's mentioned several times, so don't feel bad. Now I have to go to sleep because we are heading out tomorrow at 5:30 am (it's 10:01 here now). Good night all, and thank you again for the help and company!
Hurshy - I never even heard of that book. Is it good?
Okay, one last note: Hurshy, I adore the Mrs. Pollifax series -- have read them all. Now to bed.
good night, quality and ch1212
Bye ch1212 - have a good day tomorrow.
it's light reading, dianne, not high literature - but there is a whole series of mrs. pollifax books. they are about a widow who decides she needs some excitement and becomes an occasional spy for the CIA. :)
i'm working my way through the series as a spring break time occupier :)
hurshy - sounds like a series I would like - I love Ms. Marple stories.
yes, people do say if you like miss marple you will like mrs. pollifax. i like marple better, but pollifax is good too.
i love who dunnits as well love morse and monk and agatha christies ect
monk was funny tonight - if implausible
sandyloo, do you like the lord peter mysteries by dorothy sayers? they are the best.
well, it's a new day here, so i will dress in my new icon... excuse me a moment
ok, refresh!
I just got "Mary Mary" by James Patterson but haven't started it yet. Saving it for when I have some time off from work (and Babble). Books are soooo expensive here. This one is a big paperback and cost USD $20.00 - phew.
dianne - can you order off amazon or does the shipping make it cost just as much that way?
with the shipping it is almost the same. I recycle all the books i buy here - after I finish it i send it to my mother-in-law and when she finishes she give it to her 2 sissters - so one book gets at least 4 reads!
well, that's good, at least. :)
ty for clues - see you tomorrow - hope site is better - server went down this afternoon
what time is it now in hong kong?
Well I guess no one needs any clues so I'll go get some housework done before the flip.
bye temple!
it's 1:10pm
wow, 13 hours ahead. that is a lot.
it is 4.10pm here! Hi all!
when you go on daylight saving's time it will be just 12.
Hi mrp.
it must be great to have the flip in the afternoon instead of at 1 AM. i don't often get to start at the flip.
hi mrp :)
Actually it is good - I start the puzzle at lunch, go back after 5pm the I can still have time to finish up in the morning.
hurshy, what is charlie doing to that ape?
kissing her
don't tell me you haven't seen planet of the apes?
No, i haven't actually! That movie was released when I was born!
planet of the apes, how lovely
well, i am only 28 myself. but it is one of my dad's faves - he loves all the sequels too.
it's the "b"-est movie i can think of :)
is it b movie icon day?
yes, i mean, for the 18th it is
and as it has only JUST become the 18th here, it is late and i must go to bed. see you later mrp, nut, etc.
nite nite!
((MrP)) hi, hon
ok, I'm in need of a hint to get at least one 'o' word, I'm at a total loss
May I have a clue for to 7/28 pleeeeeease?
7/28 is part of the 8 letter
Angel! How are you!!
good, MrP. Glad it's the weekend. Did you get my e mail re the stats list?
not yet, will go look now!
en7/28
en 7 is en plus tr6, or en plus an agreement between nations.
or 6/24
on 7 is the number before two plus a comparative suffix. put an r betweeen the number and suffix. Sounds like cantankerous (sp)
Angel, you have mail!!
or 6 is or plus a word for fabulous beginning with g, drop the r.
ot 5 sounds like a water loving mammal, but change fifnal vowel to a.
MrP, tag (you have e mail)!
Good evening all -- everyone just about finished? :)
thanks for the o help, have 3 of the 4 now :)
Don't watch many movies, and never B movies if I can avoid it! --- I'll just be me today.
nan, are you going with your beautiful flowers again??
The last og4 can be spelled out as it sounds. o g, I locked my keys in the car.
Mr. P -- no -- with my elderly mug this time.
I think it's nice to see everyone's face from time to time.
