I think how much time is left also has to do with just how much of a hint I will give. If it is crunch time then I'll lead someone to the word.

i like clues the best that break down the different parts of the word, then you can figure it out a part at a time. but i don't mind third letter.

Ok, I'll confess. I'm a programmer and I can produce Stats. Love the game, thought I'd just prob some minds on what sort of stats I could produce that would make me 'loved'.

hi, what does the number behind the / mean?
re 6/27 means that there are 6 letters in the word and that you get 27 points for that word. That is reached by adding up the point value of the letter tiles and multiplying by 3. 5 letter words are doubled and so on.

I've been to Big Sky in the summer, but haven't skiied there. Montana is a Big Square State and Big Sky is actually 6 hours away. We're cross country skiing on an old mountain trail an hour from home. On the divde between Montana and Idaho.
There is no re7, have the one married again the re8/45 is no the re6/21 again as far as I can see.

You have plenty of resources at your disposal -- In the box to the right, the Friends of Babble the Links that are the most helpful are Babbler's Anonymous where you can find a breakdown of the current puzzle by first two letters, total length and score in the General Topic; AngelSong's Babble Page which is chock full of all sorts of Babbly goodness to help find the words; And the Babbler 4 Dummies which has bunches of stuff as well. (I haven't had time to explore it fully yet as it is a new addition ;) )

I really don't see how this game is any better than boggle...the points dont really change how you find words, so it seems that they're almost arbitrary. If you find 50 words, you find 50 words, the points make no difference in your inevitable personal outcome.

arfnarfsi - since this is not really a competitive environment, we don't really dwell much on the point value, it's just finding and learning new words - more a challenge of the hunt to find them all...
arfnarfsi the points count towards your score in the rankings, and it also makes it easier to differentiate between words when you're looking for them/asking for clues
arfnarfsi -- the points come into play sometimes when asking for help. Or if you are trying to randomly type a word (commonly referred to as monkeytyping) knowing the point score allows you to eliminate some combos :)

dan the letters are the first two letters of the word, the first number refers to number of letters in the word, the second letter is the number of points the word is worth. To find a list of them go to Angelsong's page listed at the right.

kristi -- nope -- I have one that set herself up as guardian of Kristianna who is so complacent about the kids that she is a wonderful conundrum -- she freaks when other adults are around, but will let Kristianna poke her and Seb lay full on her with no probs whatsoever :)

Given the former home environment I was in before Kristianna was born and especially before moving to PA, I think the cats are pretty much inured to the chaos that children represent :D
