There's those esses you always want Nan
I am not sure why, but it always takes me a long time to load after the flip
Nat, Grey Goose Vodka is the best..
Lot's of them -- lovely!
Lots of luck - only 7 vowels! Yes - grey goose id great and the bottles are better!
i agree, for the price and the taste gotta love the goose, Vox is also quite tasty.... a lady stumped me the other day, she aked for f'ing vodka, but she meant effin ( thought she was really pissed lol)
Ok, ran out of time, missed the last puzzle by less than 10. But now I have time to update my icon!
You def lost me on that one Nat. Splain please.
I once missed a 400 word babble puzzle by 1 word...boy was I sad...couldn't babble for a week
133 words: 1x8, 8x7
How are we going to get 133 words out of this one? and no 'e's
ok, so this women came into the bar I work at and said "do you guys have f-in vodka" I thought she was using the f word without saying it, but there is a vodak called effin
pinecone I bleed with you! I thought I had finished one and found out the next day it decided a word it had accepted wasn't acceptable. Pain in the a**! Now I check after I've finished. - OFTEN!
This is going to be interesting with no e!
how about that! The Babble dictionary includes urban slang! (ph 4/6)
to me, 133 means a lot of weird words and atoz to find them!
Panhandle - you will find the Babble dictionary changes from day-to-day and whatever whim hits it!
excellent :)
B 7/40
c7/32
Being a beginner....I would like to ask why a word I "know" is a word isn't accepted. Punched in 3 times...can I go ahead and type it out on this chat page? I know we shouldn't give away words.
B 8/50
if it isn't accepted you can type it
tophat?
never heard that word, is it a proper noun?
Stoner, it is the program based on another dictionary because I have words in a dictionary I use that are accepted all the time...Oh Well....
chic: are you asking for hints for B7/40 and B 8/50?
like the old song " putting on my tophat.... putting on my white gloves"...I think....
No Panhandle, the 'game' at the flip is to find the longest words; it's too early for clues....
perhaps tophat is, more correctly, actually "top hat" or "top-hat"?
As I a 'Pro' I can flip to the stats on left and see the word sizes....
ah - thanks chic. I thought it might be something like that but wasn't sure. What is the longest word? (I dont have the stats)
8 letters
wow -- found the 7 & 8!
one 8 letter and 8 seven letter ones....
Ok, have fun all. Gotta drag myself away and watch TV then sleep, so I'm fresh to play all day tomorrow. Good luck.
'nite, Dirster, cute kitten...
Ok - this finishes me! I'm going to bed! Nat - woulf can give you my e-mail addy when you want it. I love meeting people I met online. Heck - it's how I met my BF! See ya tmorrow night. Night all!
'nite chic... ok, really, I'm leaving....
night hoot, I will be on lots now, nice to meet you!!! Night!
Got 21 words, but short ones only. GOod night all, thanks fora ll your help. It was a fabulous feeling to complete my first babble. Thanks to all.
Good night, hootowl :)
night andy!
Hmm. I like how some of these "words" aren't real according to the dictionary link.
yeah, ornith, you'll have that...makes me wonder about why some words are real according to some and not to all
I am a virgin player. When I click on the letters ...nothing happens. Am I not getting something?
I typed in something that looked like a word, had it take, and then wanted to know what it meant... apparently nothing
bluesmoke, you have to type them in the little box underneath, not click them.
Blue, you have to type the words in the box below the grid, clicking doesn't and shouldn't do anyhting
'nite, hoot and andy!
Now go away, or I will tont you a second time...
Got it Ornith. Thanks a lot
doug, was that a monty python reference, welcome to the game!
clue on c 7/32? please :)
A famous coan..what is the sound of one synapse snapping?
Y'know douglas, that's "taunt"....(which is why it won't take "tont", if you were trying it) ....silly k'nig-it!
How many words are in this puzzle, or do I really want to know, so that I can experience the full humiliation?
t 7/32
133
i think someone said 133. i've only got 47 now
panicoty...isn't that like manicotti?
I'm at 52, but I'm trying to not use the community...
4/5 is what my mind is about to do...
Soba is so a word ( ._.) bah
is the b4/6 part of the b7 and b8?
A tasty word at that, forresto. It must be counting it as foreign or something.
it is for me, angelsong
angelsong, i think so. bo 4, 7, 8
The b 4/6 is not a prefix of the b7 or b8
SOBA is in The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition... http://dictionary.reference.co m/search?q=soba
if tuille was ok in yesterday's, soba should be ok today!
re soba: only as an acronym though. doesn't have soba as in buckwheat noodles.
On further review, the b 4/6 might be a prefix of the b8, but it's not a prefix of the b7
not the first bo 4 but the second bo4 is part of the 7 and 8, angelsong
morning all
a 7/32
clue us in, cybernan
I've got it too, but it's not a word I ever use...
Noah should be a valid word...
s 4/5, a person who keeps the Sabbath...and everything else he can get his hands on...
Hi, ruthy!
s 5/12, more than one of s 4/5
b 8/50 Woo-hoo!
it's showing noodles for me ( ^_^) so·ba n. A Japanese noodle made with buckwheat flour. [Japanese, buckwheat, buckwheat noodle.]
yay, b 8/50! i had the first two vowels switched for the longest time - wanted the twirler to be in there. the band geek in me, i guess :>
suffixes should not be words...Grr!
54, 553 pts. time to sleep...
Hittin' the sheets...ciao for now!
I'm at 44 and stuck... gotta wait till the stats get posted. in the meantime, sudoku!
Good night Chic.
I want nabob to be a word, as in "nattering nabobs of negativism..." but it isn't, and all my wanting won't make a difference...
finally got the 8, now I don't feel so left out
go nat go!
80 and 712, getting light headed and head hurts out
night schi, night cash
it's a word, it's just not in the puzzle. I keep being like "argh, the y is over there, or I could spell "apathy""
Bedtime...48/551
I don't even see the 8
wow that was supposed to say chic
night stoner
90 is also a good place to stop for the night --- taking my brandy alex with me to bed though...see you tomorrow :)
angel, start down, then slide up and right. that's all i can give you, going to beeeedddd.... or i'm gonna be living alone!
you will angel, if you need help later let me know
Isn't isn't a word?
Nat, partaking of your own mixings?
douglas -- it's a contraction. they don't work.
no contractions
oh yeah!!! Gotta have a little for myself :)
And what about sicopath?
it's psychopath
hey, pabst should be a word. i had a roommate, all he could SAY was pabst :)
ok, found a b7. it won't accept the plural for the 8.
lol, was that in chicago, they have a lot of pabst there
And that stinks...it's a perfectly good word...
angel, same root, no pun intended, but it's a person who ...
Angel -- 8 is a person
doug it is, but only if spelled right
The plural for the b7, that is, not Pabst Klaatu baradis nocto!
Good night! :)
nat, no, it was in the pacific NW, where we are given to understand that beer was invented... go microbreweries!
got the 8. slippery word, that one.
You're obviously not a gardener!
Vanity of vanities, all is vanity
There's gotta be a cotangent in there somewhere!
ah, I see griggs (pabst is a midwestern company though ;) ), although I do love the micobreweries, not as many as I would like around here being that Anheuiser is only an hour away
Oops...
You give me the sweetest taboo...
Anybody like n'sinc?
hey doug, where are you from?
o 4/5
Minnesota...I'm the proprietor of Crossword Bebop, and I hope that Dr.God will list me as a friend of Babble soon

pt6/24
It's still too cold for rain here... although it's been hovering around 0 these past few days
Aren't light particles called phatons?
Douglas: photons.
photons
You might be mixing 'em up with Phaeton, from Greek mythology.
phatons are particles of hipness
LOL doug
doug I know how you feel, I want so badly for things to be words cause I know how to use them, you're funny!
obonics is language used by African-American double reed players
And snobots are skiing robots.
Somehow knowing the 7's isn't helping me...
epitaph isn't in this puzzle, is it...
Confusion will be my epitaph As I crawl a cracked and broken path If we make it, we can all sit back and laugh...
</King Crimson>
I keep seeing phonic
im playing tangle in another window and they are talking about sleepwalking and sleepeating LOL maybe im eating and dont know it!!
On further review, maybe it is helping...co 7/32
The oc 7/32 isn't ocarina
ok can't think anymore, and have a long day tomorrow, hope to see you all soon, night!
I wanted ocelot to be a word, either yesterday, or the day before that...it's getting a little blurry, but ocelots isn't the oc 7/32 either

In Minnesota in the USA. I was in Perth about 36 years ago, and I spent most of it asleep, as I had just flown from Johannesburg.
very pleased to see an s today
and boy, were my arms tired...b-dup psst!
doug u missed a great place i love it here and particulary today because its cool
why the question about the paper?
douglas, what part of MN? We're neighbours
The reason I ask is because I'm currently only doing crosswords from the New York Times at Crossword Bebop, and I thought it would be cool to do crosswords from around the Anglosphere
I'm in St. Paul, hugabugs
ah i think the crossword of choice is the one in the london times
and I want rapt to be a word
I've noticed that they have a regular version and a cryptic version, which is significantly harder.
good afternoon all
The Hindu Crossword is a cryptic
and obtain isn't a word, so obtains is right out...
i have recently learnt to do cryptics and now i dont do anything else they are really great if you take the time to learn them
My late mother was very fond of cryptic double-crostics, now called acrostics. I felt this enormous feeling of accomplishment when I did one without her assistance
You can tell I'm reaching when I want Gynt as in Peer Gynt to be a word...
doug have you tried the iron sudoku that was something i found hard to learn but i can do them now
hugs are you still here
I haven't tried it yet, I'm still too busy getting my tushy whupped by Babble. Does IS use pictures?
Sandyloo I recently started doing crytics too but found my new found skill didn't work for different puzzles....needed to adjust tuning for different styles...if you get my drift
no numbers but it came from this site and its very good too i play tangleword at iwin.com and thats good
sandyloo - yep, still here. Just cleaning up a few more words
bear thats the ongoing challenge to a cryptic all i can say is non of us will get alzheimers thats for sure LOL
I just signed up for IS
have to take a break need to give my husband a cuddle as you can see hes really gorgeous (or it could be wine oclock)
....see you later....sandyloo
I'm going now, heaven forbid that I should interrupt sandyloo...Cheers everyone, stop by Crossword Bebop sometime and say hello!
Hi and bye Douglas...nice to meet you
goodnite doug and sandyloo
81 words, 709 points, and I think I'm stuck. I'll have to come back later when people are giving hints.
night all
I have to travel the last 7 C's then I'm done.
Gnite Ornith
133 words 4.74 1569 and time for bed. G'Night All... enjoy
goodnight Hugs .. :)
ooooo and congrats
Morning. Isn't it cold and shiny in the world this am?
Morning shatterproof, it depends what part of the world you live in. Looks OK here. 133 words doesn't seem too bad this morning
133. Is that the total for this puzzle? Oh well, only another 108 to go...
Morning dear gang :) Shatterproof, you are close then ;)
hello sprite
*bounces in from sudoku*
Just like me :D Did you finish?
lol at and hi
yup!
Wtg! It's nice, isn't it. I like the double challenge every morning ;)
yes its lovely! I've decided I like doing sudoku first and then coming over here and doing babble on and off through the day
and I rather like this grid. It's interesting.
We have s's, but no e's
I agree, it is not an easy grid today. Not halfway on my first run through. And I also start with sudoku, because it takes concentration to finish. The babble can be done more leisurely, doing other things in between or at the same time ;)
I'm just about half way, but nothing more than a 6 yet
Same here.
same here, 65 words to go , only found 6 +'s & nothing bigger!!
And there must be 8 7s... hard to believe! Until we start seeing them of course.
ive got only 2 so far sprite
morning everyone :) there's a nice at7/32 (it's a plural, and uses to6/21)
the 8 letter is a profession
ta trish
thanks trishtrash, hadn't spotted those!!
yw :) thanks for the 8, cellardoor!
I have To6/21, but it won't accept an A in front.
But the plural To is my first 7 :)
then I guess we both have another to6/21 to find, Sprite, heh :)
Must be, unless Babble is partial ;)
Found them! Mine are words you'd expect finding with X.
Thanks, Sprite, wouldn't have tried that without the X tip :)
Nice teamwork :)
for sure :)
got 6 seven letters now
cellardoor - finally found that profession, thanks for the clue
Only 2 so far, and the 8 still obscure to me. But I'll find them yet.
still only one 7 tho (at7)
Hey, found the 8! I thought that was more of a hobby, never knew people were doing that for a living :)
Nice summer profession, anyway ;) (there's another 7 if you change the ending, too).
Ah, so there is, thanks :)
this is a really random comment - does anyone here like mythology? and norse mythology? I've just found the most AMAZING picture and I want someone to share it with!
Share away, I am interested :)
me too
Atalante... I've only an amateurs interest in mythology, but I love amazing pictures of all kinds :) Share!
I just think this is an amazing pic - based on Odin being hung from a tree for a while - http://www.deviantart.com/view /2090102/ (take out spaces)
Saved on drive! Fascinating picture, Atalante!
That's a fantastic tree, and the whole pic has twisty atmosphere which I like. And, ooh, nekkid Odin! ;) Thanks for the link!
its amazing! I think I could look at it for hours and see new things
great drawing really impressive
*gets a sympathetic back twinge*
A large edition in the livingroom, and then sitting there for hours just finding new details. Truly fascinating.
saved the site - how the heck do you find sites like that
its my favourite site :) its where I put up my art, and you get to know hundreds of other galleries when you've been there a while. actually, I'm just redecorating my study, and I really think I'm going to buy a print of that pic. Its not often I'm so immediately struck by something, but just - wow
Hey, another Bo7! The fish is back :) (black grouper pl)
i'm not an english spoker. someone can rite a long word today ? ty. i find only 50 till now. bad v bad.
atlan can we see some of your art there (are you an artist)
50 is not bad at all, iiosefi. Just keep going and use the hints in the chatlog. Good luck hunting!
I'm an almost artist lol - my main gallery there is http://elegaer.deviantart.com/ but ... my cat now has her "own" gallery there too! http://silver-claws.deviantart .com/ if you like kittens!
Thanks for the fish, Sprite :) Okay, I'm out of here for a while, the sun is tempting me outside. Have a good day everyone, if I don't see you later :)
ty sprite. but people wrote abot 133..
Eeewww - this looks icky! Hi all!
Atalante, how am I ever gonna finish this grid now that I am browsing your site? That lure of the dark side... sigh... Nice cats too... God I love fantasy art. You are a great artist.
sorry! ok - I don't have a gallery there at all :) better??
Oc7/32 think 8 and navigation, pl. :)
Nope, will not work, Atalante, now that I've had a taste :)
Oh, and let's not forget the Pt word.
Couldn't see the Op7/44 for my Op7/44, I guess. Beautiful words again today :D
Atalante, I like how that tree looks very rooted in place, while also looking like it could walk away with Odin. Gorgeous, delicious photo. love the curves and textures and so many aspects.
ooooh I'm glad people like that tree pic. I get far too excited about new discoveries and want everyone else to love them too!
I do! Also found another 7, Ob7/44. When a pinetree drops its fruits upside down.
ive got that one sprite hmmm clue.... op + small word then add c4/7
For the Ob add C5/14
I love that site, Atlalante - continue sharing please.
atlan did you create that"dark side"piece yourself its very good
i LOVE the site too at my daughter is a bit of an artist she will adore it
yup! I was having one of my many drooling-over-Anakin moments and felt the need to draw him :)
I want that dark side piece. It talks to me. A little checklist: 7s: At, Bo x 2, Co, Ob, Oc, Op, To
deviantArt is a wonderful wonderful terrible site. You can get caught up in stuff there all day - which is wonderfull good and wonderfull bad!
wow atlan it is fantastic you are soooo talented do you sell original pieces over the net?
get a room... oh look, letters!
my son is cooking something i better go and see what it sure smells good!!
That sounds great, a son doing the cooking :) Atalante, I wondered the same thing: do you sell your work?
do you? hmmm maybe I should do a decent scan of it and make it into a print. Then I could send you one and you can stare away :) and sandy, some of the pics in that gallery are available as prints - every time I have a day spare I try and make some more available - and I have been known to do a few pictures that people have begged me to do for them!
afternoon all, how many words today?
banton 133 atlant im in awe you are fantastic bb later
I'm starting to sell more and more stuff, I'm hoping by next year (ish) to be at least making a half decent amount of money from it. At least enough for pencils, papers and books - and pet food. The essntials of life!
thanks, Sandy
Atalante: I'd love a print of that. Please email me on the details, both financial and practical :) bin _ there @ planet . nl (no spaces ofcourse)
It is a drawing? And yours? Atalante you are a versatile artist and the few pieces I've seen are not just finely rendered, but have great depth as well. Sorry, don't mean to be a flatterer, but it's true to me and I'm sure to anyone else who can look and feel. Ok. Done gushing for now.
*blush* thank you mab. I'm just glad people seem to like them as much as I enjoy making them! I could live without most things, but not my sketchbook and pencil! And Sprite, I've written that down :) I was actually thinking about making some prints at the weekend - my husband's going away so I'll get peace and quiet to concentrate for a few days!
hey all! does todays babble have a theme?
Atalante, please to put me on your mailig list too? tikvaeve@msn.com.
good question, kartra! I've been happily monopolising the chat with art talk ...
Is there are "something-opath" word?
I don't know what it is kartra.
We should have an Atalante Art theme one day :) Thanks Atalante, I'll be looking forward to your mail whenever you find the time n peace n quiet :)
Done! Shatterproof: no, there isn't, alas. Would have been very nice indeed :)
lol! only on a day I'm not here please!!!! I'm only just getting used to the idea of shoving my gallery in people's faces and making them pay for things!!
Oh pish Ata. Well done our Sprite!
done? DONE? I think I've only glanced at the grid for about 2 minutes in the last hour LOL ooops
I am sure it would be a bit embarrassing, but what a great way to get used to the attention you so truly deserve :) There is a subtlety (sp.??) in your work that just draws me in and in and in...
I think its called growing old. My mother always told me she hoped I'd get more subtle (and tactful!) when I grew up :P
Oh, I also love that deco art moonlit cat!
stuck @ 35 :// hint me folks :)
She must be very happy when she looks at your art then :)
chopped: lots of hints and clues in the log, just scroll down!
chopped... you need the stats page!!
she keeps bringing pieces of "art" I made in infants school out and waving them around in front of all my relatives LOL
all right, guess I'll have to ask. Got all the 7's but one bo - I have the plant one (and an 8 from it as well), is the other one also planty, or does it have to do with a sailing vessel, or none of the above (probably)?
amandacath, it is a fish plural. Black grouper is another name for them.
fish, huh? Well, let's see what my brain can dig up
Wouldn't it be fascinating to see the juvenalia of, say, Rahphael or Picasso, or all artists.
one I know, cos I'm reading a huge biography about him, Dante Gabriel Rossetti was disgustingly talented at about 10. its totally sickening!
Got it! had to google black grouper, but now I know!
Pre-Raphaelite juvenalia -- I must look that up.
I've hit the halfway mark - hurrah! How many 8's - or bigger *cringe*?
I'd love to see what Leonardo da Vinci could do if he was alive today. He was such a revolutionary thinker and designer, I just have this feeling we'd be up in space or something if he was around now
amandacath, that's how it works! Next time you will know the crazy word and put it in right away :)
1x8, 8x7 I agree, Atalante, there were just no limits for his thinking n intuiting.
I am off, thanks for the great company again and happy hunting to all of you. :)
Oh hurrah! That means I've got all the big ones - or not hurrah, that means alot of yucky little ones...hmmm
a few years ago I worked in Milan for a few months, and between there and Lake Como, there is a river which can be crossedby ferry. The ferry they use is the exact same design that Leonardo created when he was asked to design that ferry when he was alive. They actually used *his* ferry - the actual one - until a few years when it started to fall apart a bit
It's always a pleasure to be on with you Sprite. Have a great day.
Finished!
Good morning all! mrp, before you disappear, could you nudge me in the right direction for the oc7? I've been working with the 8 + navigation clue for ages and can't see it. Atalante-how do I get to your site?
yay mrpresident!!!
hi eva! my site is at http://elegaer.deviantart.com/ and here's another wonderful thing - just so cute and dragony and catty - http://www.deviantart.com/view /29385228/
Hi Eva, I'm still here and will be for a while, it looks like. That one drove me crazy too. Think of an apparatus used to navigate and instead of a 6 at the beginning...
Eva -= if you have the 'one eighth' word, just plural it for the 7
mrp you always come through for me!! Thanks!
eva - 6 is sextant =therefore 8 is oc**** then plural
YW!!
thanks to you too amanda! I was looking in all the wrong places as they say...
Got half the big words. Go me.
YW! I know what it's like
Does the V or the G get used at all?
I haven't put the ab4 in my stats list this time around... sorry !!!
the G starts 1 word
...and its a plural
atalante-I went to the site but am confused. Is all the work there, the posters, etc yours?
I wish :) no - I tend to write big long articles on there about different things and gather some interesting pics together for people to look at. actually, this link is better: http://elegaer.deviantart.com/ gallery/ - that's all mine!
oh - of course. Thx, shatter
it is a bit of a confusing site unless you're used to it!
Morning everyone
hi jmds!
Back for another day of Babbling...
Nite
atalante-WOW! I can't believe the range and depth of your work! So many questions: Why "deviant"? So many of your pictures look like illustrations. Are they? Do you also write the stories? Who do you do your work for?
nite mrp. Sleep well.
why deviant - no idea. its the most STUPID site name ever, I think! but its one of the biggest art sites on the net, so everyone puts up with it! A lot of the pictures are illustrations for Tolkien's books, especially the older ones, a good number of the newer ones are illustrations for a role play I run with 2 friends. Well, its slightly more than just a role play now, its a story we've been writing together for about 2 years now. And the rest? Just stuff that's come into my head, or from books I read, or from Star Wars - mainly!
another small one methinks?? How many words today?
Amazing. Is this your livelihood, i.e. how you support yourself? I hope so.
It's not at the moment. Hopefully it will be over the next few years :)
im back 133 ricey
eva what is your icon i cant tell
lloks like a tiger? and a hungry one at that!! :-o
ob7 anyone?
whaey - UK Babblers - Its Budget time - I hope we have all filled our tanks with fuel this morning....
ob7: having the apex downwards like a pine cone that drops
it may be interesting to know what u all pay in petrol its about 1.29 per litre here
Boys, that's a strange one - like an upside-down ice-cream holder
I walk everywhere. I only need a fill-up 1 a month, sometimes 1 time every 2 months.
UK Prices are between 0.89GBP and 0.95GBP. Costs me £80 every ten days to fill my gas guzzler 4x4 up with diesel
Thanks Amanda and Sandy
is that for a litre ?
how many litres to a gallon?
ElPayo - wow! an American who walks! Thought they were a dying breed. Been thinking about moving back to the States, but one of the things that prevents me is having to get a car. Where do you live that it's possible to get around without one?
i think petrol is really cheap in america compared to australia
is funny on the way home from work this afternoon, shell was 1.29 and across the road quix was 1.14
Yes that is the per litre price. 1.55 USD per litre and 2.17 AUD for the lower price!!!
where r u rlee
melbourne
in San Francisco, it's $USD 2.50
1 litre = 0.264172051 US gallon
david dont americans pay by the gallon?
think so - so that makes it dirt cheap in the states, compared to UK prices. Was in Iceland in 2000, and the fuel there cost 0.35GBP/litre, but a loaf of bread was 3GBP!!
Us Blue Staters/West Coast Liberal Elites have to subsidize the cheap gas in the Red States. It's the 'Bush Tax' for not voting Republican.
It's around CAD$1/L here
what is a blue state and a red state?
Its more than 2.50 a gallon here in NC (Red State)
"blue state" = inclined to vote for the democratic party "red state" = Inclined to vote for the republican party it's based on the election maps the tv stations use to show 'who won' which state... even if it's a 49/51 split
I wonder why Ford/GM/Chrysler are busily advertising pickup trucks and monster SUVs... </conspiracy theory>
at 1.29 australian i think it works out to about 3.80 a gallon us so you can all feel sorry for us here down under
Because they're so slow to react to rising energy costs- they found a cash cow in SUVs in the 90s and had no 'Smart Car' for the current situation. They have to sell what they build.
I'd ride public transport to live in AUS
thanks for that info payo its interesting
have to admit its pretty fabulous living here (im in perth but its fablulous everywhere in aus!!
yeah it is
we are lucky rlee
just my take on things. Interesting to hear NC is higher than we are... I wonder if Katrina is a factor there more than here?
can anyone find a word with more then six letters? if so can u give me a hint plz x
two x 7 letters - both starting with 'o' - one is an inverse cone and the other is a 45degree arc
Jojo - there are 7 7-letter words and 1 8-letter
at 7/32 the plural of something that makes you feel better
Despite all the North Americans' complaints, we do generally have the lowest gas prices comparing to most parts of the world. (Maybe it's lower in Middle East?)
your linen and bedsheets ect is cheaper than ours too
my favourite thing about the States was looking through the catalogues
wow, i must b stupid today. most i have been able to find so far is 6 letter words. :(
Nah, textile is dirt cheap in Asia. :P
jo jo i cant find the 4 letter words especially the last to 4/4!! lol
im doing fine on the short ones, ive got 26 4's so far
believe me sundae your sheets are cheaper that ours keeping the quality in mind
Sandy - you're sure it's the last to4 you're looking for? That one's "little kids"
ok i guess i shouldnt complain ive got 47
Up to 55 and am stuck... Might have to start using the word list...
'manda you are the best!!!! couldnt see it for looking and ive been looking and looking thanks
By Asia, I was thinking China. :) I can totally understand why manufactured goods are more expensive in Australia though. Shipping is too costly.
hang on!!! i have got that its the second last one LOL
yw, sandy. I know how it is - forest & trees kind of thing
i dont know what makes things more expensive but generally your products are cheaper when i was in the states i bought stuff out of the catalogues and had them sent home and that was great!!
just out of interest is there a wor which uses the v?
No 'v' words
yeah, Sandy -- when I was there I spent lavishly because our dollar was stronger.
Sandy, thought that might be the case - the one you're looking for might be an old way of saying a to**** salad
amanda i have it at last thanks
Or maybe: "Thou villain! Thou hast to** me out on my buttocks!
Hi all, has anyone found the ab4? if so please can I have a clue.
can anyone say the first letter of the 8 letter word lol???
Hi Mitch! The dic says the ab is a disparaging term for the people who lived in Australia before the Europeans got there
8 letter word is bo 8/50
mitch - abo(plural) i think
Blue Eagle - it's a bo8/50, and there's a 7/40 that goes along with it
Thanks amanda, no wonder I coudn't see it or find it on a2z.
JoJo - please don't post more than the first two letter of words in the grid
i might add i dont have it but i believe its a profession

Make me jealous Sandyloo and tell me if it's sunny in Oz today.

Good moring all, I found the bo7/40 but can't find the 8 after it. The pl doesn't work. The 7 has to do with flowers Any help please
DAvid that is a brilliant clue and I love that song.
hydra this is the worst time of the year its been over 95 for the last 10 days and today its lovely and even raining i love the rain we dont see enough of it!
Marc the 8 isn't a pl - it's the person that does this thing.
I'll send you some of ours! Actually, here near Heathrow it's sunny and I've been able to hang washing out for the first time in weeks.
capone is that tsm
yes
she does look gorgeous

can anyone give me a clue about the bo/7 plz
she's ok.
well have to see a pic of you next! maybe she can put one up
Sorry FMitch typed to fast and left out the M
wow the ob7 is counterintuitive. I kept wanting to put another letter in there.
there are 2 bo7/40 one is a type of fish (pl) and 6 for sing. and the other is to do with plants. Dont have the 1st one so can't give a decent clue. LOL Marc no probs.
hey, im in the puzzle again today! well at least one of my nicknames is.
link to my ugly mug is in my profile
is the first bo4/6 a prefix for the first 7/40
Yes Mark, it is
Sorry, phone rang - let's see if I can catch up on the clues: ta6/18 - the heir apparent to an ancient Celtic chief, elected during the chief's lifetime; maybe someone who studies the art of getting brown in the sun?
message to me
the bo6 & 7 is another word for black grouper - had to google it myself from an earlier clue
i m @ b'lore mahesh.kumv@sify.com
second ca4/5 please
No Marc, it isn't. The water vehicle stands alone today - no compounds with it
lol capone u must have a good personality!! LOL you look fine
boys ca4/5 - The special vocabulary peculiar to the members of an underworld group
a good personality? whats that?
thanks amanda
anytime, sandy!
Thanks amanda, do you have a clue for the ti5 please?
don't worry, got it
any clues for the to7?
to7 is pl of to6 above meaning: 1. 1. An alarm sounded on a bell. 2. A bell used to sound an alarm. 2. A warning; an omen.
marc, sounds like poisons that you want to get rid of from your body, spelt differently
marc think of poisons
to7 - poisonous substances, spelled differently
Oh yeah, morning everyone!!!
Hi Jen!

Sandyloo that is not your husband LOLOLOL
Sandy, you're married to Brad Pitt?!?!?! Does Angelina know?
yes it IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(((Jen))) Hi - didn't see you. I'm good. Thinking of heading up to my friend Johns place for the rest of the week. Not sure yet.
you may be confused faerie by the fact that some people think he looks like brad pit
Morning Faerie! at6: "Please give me an agin and at****"
cant you see hes wearing a farm hat?
faeriekae, at6 is" a" plus gin and to/5
that's amazing sandy. my husband looks exactly like hayden christensen. really! aren't we all lucky having these beautiful men!
actually i think ill go and give him a cuddle (eat your heart out girls!!) bbl
Oooh faerie cool! Where does he live?
Sandyloo if that is really your husband you suck....Hes adorable...Looks exactly like Brad....My ex look exactly like Tom Selick.
I guess I'm at the point in the puzzle where the only words left are archaic or just plain ridiculous.
Hiya, everyone!!!!! A Pina Colada for anyone who can clue me for the bo6 & 7 combo.......
You will all be quite jealous to know, my husband looks like Grandpa Simpson.
El Pyao how many words is that?
You probably are ElPayo - we all are at some point.
40 left... so, uh, forty.
Jen he has a beautiful weekend home overlooking a lake just 2hrs North of me. It is so nice up there. No one around, just me and the trees and squirrels. LOL and my Dog Max (shih-tzu)
Hi MM! black grouper - where's my pina colada?!?!
movieman, black grouper
Sounds great faerie! (and btw, looking like Tom Selleck is a good thing! LOL)
Thanx, amanda & Gramma...... That's two Pina Coladas coming right up!!!!!
Yes Jen Tom is very handsome and really he does look like him. To bad he's a drunk.
morning all. I'm much better today, although I'm still weak. Salmonella is no fun.
Does he still have that Detroit ball cap?
{{hugs}} sorry about that faerie.
FARIE!!!!!! /lick
ugh, I feel for ya Angelsong. Had a bad bout w/that a few years ago
Jen - it's not my problem any longer. I still Love him with all my heart and I cry every single Sunday when I see him and it has been 4 years since the divorce but I am so much better off. I just hate to see such a wonderful man ruin his life.
(((Faerie))))) Just wanted to pop in and tell you to have a good time in case you left before I get back to play. Have to go to the bank, the postoffice and run a GS errand before I can do any serious babbling. We got our first significant snow fall yesterday so I have to go clean off the van.
(((Angel))) glad your feeling better Hon.
EWWWWWW Angelsong. That is terrible. Greg forgot to work on my page - I WILL get him to do it tonight. I need it:-)))
Capone - Wanna drink its um craberry juice.
You are a great lady faerie! :)
me, too, faerie. the really scary thing was despite how rotten I felt, I still finished the grid yesterday....
heheheh WTG Angelsong! that is babble dedication.
(((MusicMom)))-Goodmorning - enjoy the snow lol. and be careful you know how people drive....
No, I want TSM..... 8*(
Yes I will be careful. The roads don't look too bad. I just didn't go anywhere yesterday so the van is buried. Okay. I'm putting on my coat and going. See you all in a few hours.
Too bad Capone she is high in the sky on her way to see Jen.
She is beautiful and intelligent Capone! A great combination!
gramma - ROFL - Grampa Simpson????
Whaaaaaa faerie?
Shes in orlando for the next few days
bo 6/27 anybody?
Angel - that just proves Babble is good for everything.
Gotcha... but what does that have to do with me?
Jen - Toes is on her way to Florida Today...
Got it down to 34 left. Time to sleep.
Bye El PAyo! I don't live in FL... I'm actually up in DC. (but I grew up there... in northern FL)
faerie, what it proves is just how severe the addiction is. I dream about Babble grids. woke myself up the other night muttering: "I need a BA5/12."
Jen - OMG - your just the Seminoles fan - sorry - forgot your in Virginia - North Virginia?
Angel - ROFL - thats a nightmare....
El Payo - Later - Good Going.
S'okay faerie! I went to FSU for bachelors and Masters and my Dad teaches there, I grew up there, etc. ANd seeing as how I'm so rabid about the NOles it's understandable.
me too jen, i grew up in Jville
between the grids and my page, it's inevitable. By the way, I added a link to the Links section yesterday for Google image search, for icon finding.
angelsong - could your page have a links section for babblers home pages? if enough people have them??
I lived in Orlando for just over 3 yrs. Does that count for anything? *teehee* Wasn't real crazy about Florida but it wasn't bad. I just didn't like the great big bugs and the love bugs.....twice a year....love bugs yuck.
Thanks Angel - I'll check it out.
Capone - Jacksonville is a nice area - Nice boardwalk there.
blue girl Another name for the black grouper - I had to google it from an earlier clue.
Growing up, I couldn't wait to leave! I love going back to visit, but we really feel like VA is our home now. (and central/south FL is veeeery different from north FL)
what do you mean, atalante, by Babble home pages? it's certainly no problem to add a section to the page...as long as I understand what it is I'm linking to.
Jacksonville Sucks! AC boardwalk is better!
mornin babblers!! anyone up for some shrimp cocktail? ;)
I just thought when Capone put his pic up - some babblers must have their own web sites? I would have thought? Maybe? I'm just nosey LOL
Mornin evaN
Hiya, evan...... A shrimp cocktail would be absolutely great right about now.....
Jen - Va is one of the most beautiful states I've been in. Just passed through and visited friends but it is really awesome. Do you know where Boone County is? And have you ever heard of the Dancin' Outlaw?
atalante, of course I could do that, if Babblers want it..
(((Movieman))) good morning don't think I spoke to you yet. Sorry!
yeah .. I just wondered - I'm not sure how many people would have their own sites etc
I'm afraid no on both, faerie. My knowledge of VA is pretty much limited to NoVA and the VA Beach area... and seeing as how I no longer teach, I don't have to learn it. :)
Hiya, faerie...... How seems the world to you today.....?
Atalante - you could have a link to your wonderful artwork perhaps :)
i have a few online journals and a myspace. :)
apologies, Hi Everyone.
I can't believe you've never heard of the Dancin' Outlaw. I have one of his Videos. He is a mountain dancer/tap dancer. It is truly about his life Jessico White/aka/Elvis/aka/Jessie talk about inbreding....
and there's a few other arty people, aren't there? Vicuna I think? And - um - someone else (I should remember but I don't)
Greetings, FMitch.....
Hi FMitch. good morning Hon.
ok, my suggestion is this: if you have a homepage you want me to link to on the resource page, can we make a list on BA or something, so I don't get swamped with e mails? I can pick the links up from there and add them to the resource page. Now I think of it, it's a terrific idea....
atlan i think that is a great idea or alternatively what about a babblers picture gallery we have one at tangleword and everyone emails their photos and the person (like angel) puts the photos up
and Evan - goodmorning.
mornin faerie :)
Just been out for a while, lovely sunny day today. Still only on 50, will have to get going
Help please I need 2 the co5/12 and the next co6/21 and they are driving me mad

what do you mean You Won?
Oh my - we are having the same drink. lol

Exwren - that is so funny I also picked it last night. But I have never played snap. But now I know what it means. lol
I'll go and make a thread Angel :)
Karys-this is the first time I've seen you not looking like the cat that ate the mouse. lol
Movieman plural of the 5/14 above
Jen - Yes - good guess.

KatieW I'm thinking - I'm thinking!!
I felt sure Mr Mari would know this one!!
oh poo. yours looks better than mine now faerie
you too faerie....got to get some lunch now after all that hard work !!
ti5, take a word that means to dye, then add a consonant before the last letter. I usually see this word with the ending ...ure.
KatieW - He's in the kitchen!
ExWren - I downloaded both of these last night and thought yours looked my tasty....
Karys - have a nice lunch. see ya later.
mari that would be about right! He is going to get it and really annoy you. Cant give you a better clue without giving it away.
katie, did you see my ti5 clue?
Jen - just got it, fantastic clue, thanks for your help I have just finished.
WTG katie!! :)
*~*~*~*~*KATIE*~*~*~*~* CONGR ATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!
heh...the West Virginia town where my in-laws live is in the grid today.
KatieW reckon you have some intelligent genes there

Still can't get the co6/24, as I don't even have the 5/14 above it....... Help me plz.......
Angel - really what town did you say they lived in? LOL
Poca. I can post it because it isn't a real word :) but it is a nice place.
co6/24 for Movieman: hyperbola, parabola, ellipse, circle. These are all...
Hi all. Movieman - your 'c' words: think of a funny man or a child's magazine and then change the middle consonant.
Angel - sure now you tell me it's not a real word - you little stinker...LOL
Obviously from Mr Mari's side!! ;)
Greetings, all! Only have a few minutes, gotta haul the littlies to the doctor this morning... check out the sore throat issue(s)... such fun for all!

133 words, 1539 points today.
bluephlox - 133
why thank you jacula
and movieman
That's how I got it, I had to look up the definition on google as it wasn't in my dictionary
faerie at 6/21 swallow it and it will make you feel better
fyi...for folks using MrP's tick box list, it is incomplete. there's a AB4 in the grid that is not on the list.
Hey, Jen... how are you, hon?
I'm good, munchkin's still sick and now also grouchy. ;)
KatieW Got them! got them! who needs a man!!!!!!?????
well done Mari, I knew you could do it.
I wish there was an E in this grid...
Sandyloo - Thanks I found it...
Mari - this is not Fuggles but it does really look like him!
Katie - I truly have a mouse phobia...no shit...please change icons or I have to close chat.
Faerie - It's a hamster, not a mouse.
Same thing.
going into shock now.....
later guys.
faerie - why didn't you just say you have a phobia of all small, furry mammals.....
Changed it - will confuse the hell out of Mari now as she will think I have traded Fuggles in for a Moose!!
ok i do
Okay, I saw the def for the ob7, but I just don't get it... and can't find it on google... anyone have a dummy babble clue for me?

Hmmm, don't have the co5 yet (I am working backwards)... thanks, I'll work on that too.
oh dear God KatieW-I'm sorry should have told eveyone sooner. I'm soooooo sorry.

Sigh, had to resort to a2z, but at least I got it. :( Thanks again katie
true faerie i have never met any one with such a severe phobia
ob 7 - ob + bars serve gin and t****, change the t to a c

Got to go and do some work now...see you all tomorrow.
any hints on the 8?
Just changed my icon, so if any of you would care to...... REFRESH!!!!!!
hi ev i dont have it but i believe its a profession
*JUMPS away from movieman* horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE!!
lol movie you ratbag!

i have all the 7's except that one
thanks bunny! sandy -- think plants

i like spiders (just dont like crickets)
Hint for the bo7?
TY bunnyvicious got the ob7 thanks to you!

thank you muchly
evan - I take it you'd like me to change my icon back, then.....
lol when i had the phobia i hated that cricket it made me feel sick
ill give you a shrimp from my shrimp cocktail if you change it to something more evanadine-friendly! :D
Bunnyvicious do you happen to have a clue to the bo 6/27 and the following bo7/40 (the first one)?
i overcame it myself- i started by staying in the room when there was a cricket and then i was able to train my dog to kill them once i did that i got a lot better now i just dont like them
sandy -- i take it you probably also werent a fan of "spickets" they look like crickets but move like spiders! *SHUDDERS*
OK, Evan, it's a deal...... REFRESH!!!!!! How sabout a nice little cuddly-wuddly kitten, then......
much friendlier! 2 scrimps for movieman!
The other bo 6&7 combo - same first three letters as the bo 5/18 + the name of the card that has a value of 1 in a deck, change the last vowel to the third vowel
no i dont mind them - we call them mole crickets its the hopping ones i dont like which can be quite dangerous because they can hop in any direction
thats them! the spickets! they hop. *UGH*
much better movieman!!! I can't stand spiders either! Got bit by one when my parents were out of town and since I was underage, they wouldn't treat me! Arm swelled up about quadruple in size.
Movieman - If I actually do laugh my head off at your ic4/5 an6/21's, how am I going to see to find my last few words?
I can really be an evil S.O.B. sometimes.......
they dont hop very high and the dog eats them too
jac u have a lot more drinks that the rest of us!
Suddenly I feel very glad I live in the UK LOL
op7/44 plz......
Sandy - I've got plenty of drinks 'cos I know you lot will drink 'em when my back's turned.;-)
op7/44 - think of the qualities of frosted glass.
op 7/44 - op + first vowel + Weatherford is the name of the **** I live in
thanks, jacula!
Just changed my icon again......
Thanx, Jac.....

Need help with the bo6 & 7 between what you go to sea in & what lies over the ocean...
Jera I'm with you on that!
ROFL movie
think of the last name of the red-headed kid from the Partridge family... then remove some letters from the middle...
the bo 6 & 7 - are a fish, another name for them is aguaji Starts with the same first three letters as the bo 5/18 after it, then add the card in a deck that has a value of one but change the last letter to another vowel
sorry, best I can do, it's an odd word...
tyvm, BV!!
6 words to go & then I have to go hold my son... he has a sore throat (I assume) & is doing that nerve-wracking whimper-cry... aaaack!!
ive got 23 left ooooo im getting excited have never finished one yet
Jera do you have a clue for the fist co 5/14 please before yo u go??
bo6 & pl. 7 - anagram of 2nd part of a drink: Chinzano Bi****.

Well done, Jera. 3 to go here.
Does anyone else need help before I go? Sorry to be so unsociable, but sick littlies are not fun for anyone...
to 6 & 7 - def. - An alarm sounded on a bell to + third letter in alph + god forgives you of your ****
tyvm, BV... if I hadn't seen it, that would have done the trick right away... you're the best!
ty
WTG Jera!!! Yes, co7 please and thank you!
co7 = what makes of something, what it co7 of... ingredients
or if your female sibling is in prison + a cross
Thank you hon! Give gwyd a big ol' feel better hug from me! :)
I'm finished.:-)))
co 7 - co* man (someone who jips you) + sounds like c4/5 (growth)
8 to go.. time for break :)))
The worst part of it is I have some meds that would probably help him, but I don't want him to have masked symptons before going to the doctor...
I'm slow today, my coffee pot has broken - sniff...
Huzzah for Jacula!! *happy dance of donesness*
Jera, all five of mine got the stomache flue in a three day span, it was great! My husband and I had it too, so I know what you mean! They get better soon as you walk into the doc office.
Thanks, Jen, I will... Better go hold him so I can get sick, too... later, all!
Gotta go and get some late lunch now and then get my greenhouse cleaned up ready for seed sowing. Might be back later for clue-giving. Hope Gwyd's better soon. TTFN, all.
If munchkin isn't better tomorrow, I'm taking him in. He's ticked because we aren't going out and about today.
Bye Jac
bye Jacula!
I love the weather this time of year, but the kids start passing around so many colds and flu's it's crazy! We all get stuck inside!
good morning all!!!
Faerie got cheese?
Morning, oooh yum, Bloody Mary!
my favorite
Faerie ran off due to hamster phobia...
She doesnt like rodents, TSM is scared of spiders....I can see myself having a lot of fun on here in the near future.
good thing Toes wasn't in here then, Movieman was toting a taratntula earlier!
who does Capone?
someone said Faerie doesnt like hamsters
*Bunny said Faerie doesn't like hamsters
small rodents

Don't think i have any phobias except for the well being of the kiddos.
*Bunny said Faerie doesn't like small rodents. So I take it she isn't into gerbils?

Morning MM! (and everyone else who snuck in while I was confoozled about the bo6/7 combo!!)
LOL
musicmom you're making me hungry oreos are one of my favorite cookies!
Jen, did you get them though?
Bunny that doesn't look like a bloody mary
Here have some lucky!
I'm not even sure what mine is, I was hankerin' for Shorty's drink.
Yup, thanks for asking. And for some reason that bo5 was eluding me too. Then I had to dope slap myself for missing it!!
AHHHHh I see! Bunny - just saw in the log that you need coffee. Here have a cup a kona.
OH!!! You are a saint!! I was having withdrawls.
Fresh brewed - just poured myself a cup as well.
musicmom, would it help with your resource page if I use a different tool to zip the file with, I wonder? I used zip genius when I put the zip file together
Sigh, I'm supposed to work ONE day a week and they just called me in for the 12th day in a row, guess I better get. See ya'll tomorrow!
Lucky - come get these cookies from me - I'm going to eat the whole bag if I'm not careful.
morning shorty:)
Poor bunny - take care.
Angel. I'm calling my husband and asking him. Just a minute.
Can anyone tell me what the missing a word is......? According to mrp's list, there's 11, but I've found all of them and I'm still one short.....
I'm anoyed that ph4/6 is even valid (although I have always loved the to6/21 poionous homophone...)
movieman, there is a missing AB4 from MrP's list.

Yes definitely it will help. I'm going to make it one of my tabs for every day. I LOVE the green. Perfect!
reckon we have a lot of work ahead of us:)
lol - I have 8
now i have 6
MM, if you have Firefox, you can set it as one of your home pages. I also have included info on how to update your page to keep up with the online one, in case you want to do that. I'm so happy you like it.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to hide the pictures b/c I really want a bloody mary!!
Yes I use firefox almost exclusively. I will do that. I read the directions. i will play with it later this evening so I can keep it up.
lol after our new years eve party Tina hasn't drank anything LOL everyone celebrated a little to hard except me:(
LOL
haha shorty. I had a bloody mary for the first time in many years last summer on our anniversary. I had it at a japanese steak house - I don't do sake.
Hello all! What is the theme today??
Applebees makes the best Ive ever tasted
if the instructions are not clear, please let me know, MM. It's one of those things where it's easy if you know how to do it, but it can be confusing if you don't know how. I tried to pretend I didn't have a clue when I wrote the instructions.
UGH My deepest apologies - I used a word a few posts ago. I'm very sorry:-((
theme is cocktails
Well, amen to that!! :)
I will Angel. Greg can probably help me too. He is a techie and builds pages for other people
hmmm let me look for that word!!
I'll have to remember that shorty.
greg will likely think I'm an amateur, which I am, but the pages are a lot of fun to do.
the out back makes a mean drink though I don't care for bloody marys give me anything with fruit in it and I am happy :)
Outback puts ALOT of alcohol in it
oh he won't pass judgement at all. He is really an amateur too. Computers are his hobby like sewing is mine. We are both musicians by trade.
brb
hope i got the theme right, good morning babblers
ok
morning kiss!
LOL :) Hey did you know I was helping take care of foster babies:) it is awesome and I may even go through the classes and become a foster parent
are you serious!!!at your house or somewhere else?
Morning Kiss That's terrific smiley
awww that would be very sad though when they found a home and then they have to leave
Hope nobody minds - combined 2 themes...coctails and Tom Cruise...
I watch the kids at my house and also Harriets and we will take in no more than 4 of same gender any gender we have one room we can rearrange
Great idea Angela. I haven't seen that movie in ages.
we are saying good bye to one 5 month old tommorrow and it is sad but I think he will be in a better place
Now if only the icon would change darn it!! :)
don't mind at all Angela WOOWOO Tom Cruise
its showing up on mine after I refreshed
People are kind of luke warm on him these days but I still think he's great!
aww that sad but hopefully he goes to a good home
awww...smiley...you are an angel for fostering.
Ah! There he is!!
*diving into grid now*
If you can do that Smiley - I think it is terrific. I couldn't handle the attachment and separation.
me either I get TOOOOOO attached
how is the baby and matthew
good good the baby is getting big well he was big to start out LOL
it is hard but when it works out for the good then things are wonderful though I have a case coming up where the mother doesn't even deserve to be alive and she may get her boys back urgg
thats what would make me mad
I can't believe your doing it as sensetive as you are.
brb gotta go potty
LOL that is exactly what tina says but I don't know I feel like it was what I am meant to do isn't that weird.
back! that is too weird!!!
hello smiley.....I was a foster carer for 28 years
LOL I know trust me I totally know:)
Going back in the log for a bit looking for clues. BRB
wow that is amazing did u love it
are you feeling better smiley?
yeah i am though I am babysitting today last minute thing and I am still contagious:) I have the kids in one room and I watch from a distance:)
LOL LOL LOL
:) how is the family?
good except your dads had a cold for like 2 weeks and hes the one that says HE never gets sick cause he takes vitamin C
LOL yeap that sounds like him I had both the flu and pnemonia shot so i did not think I could catch much else I was wrong How are you coming with you words
I STILL have 6 LOL
I'm back. I knew there had to be clues for the bo6/7 combo if I went back. There were and I found them. YEY!
Yay MM
A little surprised to see the ph 4/6 in there. I was kidding when I put it in!
Why doesn't the Latin plural work for bo7/40? it is a word!
Okay fellow babblers, Help please. It's my last word. It's not a biggie. It's "Ab" blank! I just keep staring at the grid and it's not coming to me. :{
Which latin plural are you trying to use?
a
try a*** where *** is s supervisor without the last word
gramma I don't know.
hi haz
Gramma- think slang for Aussie native people
gramma ....ab + forth vowel and plural
Hi, musicmom - the latin plural for nouns ending in a is ae.
TYVM 8)
Ph4/6 can be found in the "American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition" Surprising, eh?
gramma...add a round vowel and curvy consonant to your errant AB
excellent clue haz
lol over my head :) I need to get off here and check the kids:) will play later though :)
it wasn't me with the plurals. I have all the b words. Thanks though:-)
ok bye love you
how many words are their???
mmmmmm MrP's tick page doesn't show any ab words. How many are there?
bye luv u 2 :0 tell everyone I said howdy:)
Surprised but really amused :)
ok
133 words today
MM, you sure did put a sparkle in my day. Nice to know your page is working for you.
grr, the lack of an E is a real pain!
Why of course I would use it. I wouldn't have you waste your babble time making me a page I wouldn't use. <G>
Karys, where's smileycat?
133!!! ive only got 41:(
Angel.....I posted a message earlier to say thank you...'cos with your help I was able to join in and be a cocktail !!!
Keep going blueeagle! You'll get there!
lol thanks, but i'm really struglling lol how many 7 letter words are their i got the 8 letter one
Andy 12489 Thak you!
oh, Karys...is that because of the instructions on the resource page?
y/w
There are 8 seven letter words
yes Angel :)
good, Karys. I know the instructions are okay, then.
lol their are some really random words in here, like words which i didn't know existed or didn't know were proper words lol
well I did it today......but then I have to go to sleep tonight...by tomorrow all will be forgotten and I have to start over !!!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Babble my friend! It's amazing how many words are out there that you never knew existed!
blueeagle - forgot the idea of popular words there are many abstract ones here. There is a music store called Blue eagle here.
I seem to have an 'o' word blindness....there are some really arn't there ?
im just choosing anything random lol not the popular ones, n thats cool lol, and wheres' here in your case
The music store is in Athens Ohio
Athens.... home of the U of O?
Blue - that's called "monkey typing" here if you ever see that term. You're not the only one who does it, for sure!
cool cool, i just made it up lol it just sounded good, and i use it for random things, i wouldn't know it anyway, me in UK :D
so, tomorrow, Karys, just refer to the resource page again. Pretty soon, changing your icon will be no big deal. I even put a link to Google Image search in the links section to make searches easier.
YES! Are you familiar with Ohio University?
that was how I found this one Angel
visited there once. Pretty crazy place. Had a "Black Widow" at one of the bars, and partied at, I think it was called the CI?
Why isn't obonics a word? n - the language of people trying to speak through a woodwind reed. ;)
lol obonics.. like ebonics for music nerds
AHHHHHH yes it is the CI. Haven't been there in years but played lots of pool there in my undergrad years. Haven't heard of a Black Widow in years either.
:) that little page is sure a gem. People seem to like it. I orignally put it on the internet so Babblers could check it out to see if they wanted one of their own. Now, it's a fixture.
You probably had a Black Widow at the Cat's Eye or the Nickolodeon.
Yep, visited a friend there 2 years or so ago.... great place. Reminds me of a small Penn State.
Angel....what would I have on one opf my own ?
We love it here. I did my degree from 1987- 1991. My husband did his bachelors and masters. Now he works for the U and I teach Kindermusik classes here. Our kids will probably go to OU.
Karys, your own page would have most of the same content as the online one.
kindermusic! my son (he'll be a year old next monday) is in kindermusic. we love it!
Awesome! This is my first day here at Babble.... Heard about it from ironSudoku. Glad to be here.... 36 words so far :)
Welcome! We love to give clues so ask for help if you need it. Just don't put words from the grid into the log. We like to keep them secret:-))
hang in there tp but beware of addiction some others here are really addicted
and tp 133 words in this grid today
Excellent. Where do you take KM? I love working with the babies.
but would be easier to access I presume
hahhahaa sandyloo. Just who would you be talking about. I can quit any time - really I can.
Its addicting nature could see it renamed "Babblesmack"
Karys, if I make a Babble resource page for you, it will be stored in a folder on your own hard drive. not online. But the links would still work. You would just open page in your browser.
so 4/5 not the clean one please
I need to go but before I do I need a clue on the co7 as it is my last 7, please?
well so can i music i had a really good sleep last night and im staying up past midnite just becouse i want to
good one turbodog!!! But seriously - I CAN walk away.
co7 co + skin growth spelled wrong
co 7/32 - a normal word meaning to comprise of
Hello. My 3rd day...consumes lots of time. So far managed 59 words 4.46 539 . Tomorrow 100's of peole will score full house. How do you do it, honestly?
Angel....then please may I have one ?
MM, I gave up all pretense at being able to walk away from Babble yesterday. I was sick as a dog with Salmonella, and still did the grid.
Luke with lots of help !!!
LukeM - I think we all have our own methods. i go through and find as many words as I can. Then I go back through the log looking for clues, then I ask for help. I also work on it in small bits on and off through the day.
Karys, Yes, of course! send me your e mail address and what color you'd like, and also tell me which browser you use. my e mail address is in my profile and it's also on the resource page under Contact me.
turbo nice clue!!
I know angel and we are proud of you for finishing. True dedication!
Welcome Luke M! Hi all! sn4/4 liquidy boogers is in there soooo many times. we should get points for all of them!
will do Angel...thank you x
i have 13 words to go can anyone help with the second pesky bo4/6
Luke - my method is to go through the grid, finding as many words as I can myself. I also keep an eye out for clues on the chat log. Then I get the second letter list, go through that to see if I can find any more on my own. After that, I use morewords.com to fill out the blanks.
Hi all - Just popping in to see that all is well -I have some unexpected extra time as I have cancelled a meeting . Babble bliss!
haz is that beautiful creature you?
The pesky bo4/6 is an anagram of the first one.
and then you get stubborn people who find as many words as possible then swear and kick at the grid until it releases the rest of the words for them
I don't know about the beautiful creature, but yes, that's me!
Hey all are we having fun yet?
lol haz! and thanks and what kind of a word is that!!!!!!!
Hi everyone who just came in. I'm losing track<G>
LukeM there are also great stats to be found under Babblers Anon to the right of the screen.
Hi chic -looks a tricky one to me!
they must be chic the log is huge today
Yes, Snowy is the other English language from the planet Xenon!
Okay I'm still here but digging into the grid. I have to work on the dining room at some point today and I won't if I don't get busy.
turbodog and haz, good clues but I must be too thick still can't get co7 any more clues?
Snowy - did you cancel your meeting to give yourself more babble time??
The what we need is a translator! I think my husband is often on another planet -must ask him if he speaks xenon!
co 7 - first three letters as in 'to trick', then shortened form of female sibling, then shortened beverage
Lol Haz- no, but it does mean I'll have to double the prep tomorrow!
How many words are there to be found today?
a few more cocktails may bring meaning to all, if you know what I mean!
marc top right corner head up after the co
133 words
I'll drink to that chic!
Luke - there are 133 words today. Don't beat yourself up if you don't get it completed. It took me weeks to finish my first one.
haz you look lie Helen Degeneress and yes thats a compliment:)
That was a good clue Haz TY
my 3rd game, and my 2nd FULL score.. yay!! \o/ <o/ \o> \o/

STOP you guys are cracking me UP!!!!!!!!
I cant I dont have a scanner
that's a bit scary, I think. Why shatter everyone's fantasies?
i hope faerie comes back soon
I don't know Sandy - my driver's license picture looks like I drank my way across 5 states!!! LOL
I don't have a scanner either. I just use a photo that was taken on the digital camera.
Sandyloo - did she go to John's?
9 words left!!! have never got one out yet
How about if we put up pictures of what we would like to look like:-))
yea really Chic just imagine, that I'm a beautiful person
The new rules for passport photographs are something else. You're not supposed to smile so you really do end up looking llike someone they'd want to incarcerate.
ROFL ange my passport photo looks like a drug dealer
I dont have that either
she went somewhere where there are no rodents
music i am about to reput up a photo of my husband he is eye candy and its candy day here in aus
I think there was a picture-of-yerself theme a while back...my picture looked like a ghost, wearing a pink-red mop :)
HI Miya
Hey Shorty, how goes it? :)

LOL Capone! that's sweet :)
Coulld be my husband thinking about something -I'm sure thats what the inside of his head is like. Pure as the driven snow and empty - bit like the arctic really, except when there's football on!

I've added a bit of new content to the Resource page....
I need to go for now. be back in a little while. I'm going to sand walls for a bit.
What is this resource page of which you speak? Pro users only?
bye MM & shorty * Miy - going to prepare dinner now BBL
Pwin, the Resource page is available to all, Pro or not. Look in the Friends of Babble list for Angelsong's Babble page.
"vays" should count. as in "vee have vays to make you talk"
LOL, smaller!
Thanks, Angelsong. I'm gonna wait a week to see if I'm still playing before registering. I suspect I will be, though. Your page helps makes the wait not so painful.
Lupe, please look at the Resource page. see if you think Jera will be pleased.
yes! i agree with pwinn! thank you angelsong!!! pwinn, i did the wait thing too! I hope you stay. It's quite addictive!
pwinn, that's why I put the page together. I'm a fairly new Babbler myself, and it helps to have everything collected for easy access. I went Pro in just ten minutes when I played the game for the first time.
smaller, did you want your own personal resource page? I can't remember if you said you did.
I definitely think she will be pleased - good job!
nope, i like stealing!
pwinn - trust me. You'll join. It took me 2 days to go pro :)
any ideas on pt 6?
erm, smaller, it isn't stealing when you have your own...and you can't steal what is freely available...:)
HI lupe!!!! how's the weather?!!
would anyone have a clue for my last 's' please....it's one of the bottom ones....but don't know which one
karys - two sc4's same except last letter, and lathery stuff
no, scratch that, lathery stuff but not the others... hang on
Hi smaller - babble page going nuts on me today. Weather is fine - suppose to get cold(er) from this point forward...how are you???
angelsong, ....can i still call it stealing. i live such a squeaky clean life so i get to be subversive here!
one rhymes with the last name of the actor who played big on sex and the city, he was also on law and order
Hurshy....thank you....don't know why I couldn't see it...it was the cleaning one !!
the other is a 5, what you might call a little boy if you're being chummy
I like him Hurshy -- and I don't know his name :-O
google!
lol karys
karys, I don't have your email yet. did you send it?
yes angel.....hang on I'll see if it went

ty doxy
!!!!!!!!! HI Karys!!!
Hi all, just starting today, but I have alternate clue for bo 6/27 & its plural 7/40: 4 sylable child actor (partridge kid?) Danny Bo++++ci, minus du in middle
the doxy is acting up. He peed on the floor 3 times yesterday, on purpose. I wanted to kill him.
oh, how embarrassing, forgot to dress - refresh!
thanks for reminding me about the icon theme... ok all better.
Hi there smaller :)
like your icon hurshy.
peester - i would have gone with 1,1,2,3,5,8... series discoverer minus the beginning
great clue peester!
thanks doxy
doxy st 4/5, what you do at an intersection or st** light 5/12, add the second letter to the end
ty lupe, its a challenge to be creative
nice clue, peester!!! neat name too!
back in a mo....fat felines need even more fattening !!!!
Hurshy - nice icon... :)
wrong ones I'm missing. I'm missing the middle st's - st4/6, 5/14.
hurshy, that wouldve been an awesome clue
lol, hey angela :)
lol karys!
nevermind, just got it.
Hey - great minds, eh?
what's the 8 start with, please?
hurshy, esoteric is as good as creative!
angela, how are you?
I am excellent! Yourself?
guess so angela ;)
have to go for now. Will finish up later.
8 starts with bo, related to a bo7
ty peester
later doxy
The 8 starts with bo
ah, of course, ty andrew
much better today than yesterday, Angela. If you like the Babble Resource page, and want one of your own, I'm happy to make one for you.
I actually haven't been to any of the pages. I usually just go by the stats and the clues in the log. Of course, I've only finished twice - that may be why!! LOL
angela, go have a look at angelsong's Babble page...link is to the right under Friends of Babble. See what you think.
I'll definitely check it out. TY!
i am missing one B and one P if anyone cares to take a guess at what i might have overlooked :) anything particularly weird...?
Oops - just realized I'm showing as a man!! Yikes!
i'll be back later kids, got to do some "work".
Much better!
actually angela i belive that's grey/black meaning unspecified
silly boreetos
Phew! Thankfully my name is pretty self-explanitory!
Do you have 6 b 4s?
cocktails... and it's not even the weekend yet!!
hurshy, maybe 2nd bo 4/6 (anagram of lst one, leather bag to hold wine)
no munner, only 5, only one ba4
stuck on sc 6's. help?
That's what you're missing, one more ba 4
sc6 - one's plural, one means the same as the 5 basically
hurshy, other ba 4 is anagram of tub one, unit of Thai money?
co5/12?
I need a hint for o 7
yay!! another grey box!
co 5/12 a trig function
ty

b_c finhished yesterday ;)
i think it's a nice grid (poor little grid, don't listen to them)
I gave up yesterday probably after the 11th word.
how many words are there?
133 words, 1569 points! any clues for ob7?
133?
Look at Andrew's 11:55 clue for ob 7.
ob7 = pear-shaped
Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone :)
ob = ob+ co5

sc 6/27 differs only ending letter from sc 6/21
yes yes cnan
a + employer - last letter
terrible terrible grid

book grrl -- was that clue for me?
yes, sorry, cyber nan
for bo combo google grouper
(munner quietly dancing away after monkeytyping last word.) No excuses now for not getting started on housecleaning...
did people notice my i clue request at 12:02? :)
congrats munner!!!
Little problem... Put in a word it accepted, but isn't in stats. Lists as 4 letter word, no points, and my total points is now "NaN" Any ideas?
fardle - may not really be a word. when glitches like that occur, just refresh.
hurshy, that in was my last word. If you don't want to go out with friends, you stay home in your ---
fardle, refresh the page
evening everyone
Thank you muchly.
Thanks, Hurshy
you stay home in your.... sty?
LOL Are you actually seeing those two rooms I need to clean?
You stay home in your rented rooms.
Hurshy - in 5/12: not appropriate
stay home in your.... cot?
ohhhhhhhhhh
Bye everyone, back tomorrow, but only if I clean the bathroom and tidy up room for grandbaby to sleep in.
Did you get them, Hurshy?
yes that is why i said ohhhhhhhhhh
one more S and one more P and that will make a happy me (although i won't be done or anything)
woohoo, monkeyed the S!
clue for ba4,7 , not the easy one please ?
is there a p7? otherwise i welcome guesses on what weird P word i might be missing...
nevermind :D weird
farruska switch last two letters
yup hurshy :) what word is that :D
some kinda money
98 words, 1039 points... my brain is imploding...
Quick!!! Someone give EBTG the anti-imploding device!
can anyone please give me a clue for the TI 5/12
ti 5/12 has to do with colors. has only the one vowel.
ph 4/6 is a word?!
ruthy, rhymes with "winked"
yes :)
only for today ca$hmyre
ti5/12 - also ryhmes with "inked" - lol
well, ca$hmyre is my rapper name ;)
WORD!
it means cool! as in, that is ph4/6 with a capital PH!
(in case some of the older players don't know)
(which is not meant as an insult, only i'm sure my grandparents have never heard of it)
hurshy what's your definition of "old", hehe?
hmm... i don't know!
Hi all just popping in for a little while....I REALLY like the icons today!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks hurshy for your assistance to we 'older' players! (mock indignation)
Hi mab!!!
Hey Caitlyn!!
i am finding the a2z wordfinder from angelsong's page so useful. although i feel like i'm cheating when i use it /;[
now mab, you are not old, you're only in your 40's right?
ty hurshy cashmyre and turbodog
Someone doing a quick side step?
clue for bo4,6 ?
farr: it floats :)
the only one I have is row, row, row your bo4/6.
The older you get, the later in life the term "old" applies. Right now old, for me, is 80.
I've found that if you define OLD as ---- OLD = (Current year - Year of birth) + 2 You will never get old!!!
habe that one already james :9 and the other that means two things ;)
switch last 2 letters on the bo
farruska, i have two bo 4/6 one floats one is a gardening prefix
OR the spanish word for winter bo*** you wear on your feet
Oh--- I like that turbo!
hurshy i had no idea that was a word! LOL
at the copa... copa cabana...
ca$ a one is a gardening prefix ?
LOl hurshy...
ca$h -- the other is the gardener
ah ca$ have that one too. need another one
40 is the *new* 30, right? so that means i'm 28 LOL
Turbo ty i feel better after reading that!!! I have been looking after a 14month granddaughter all day and are feeling really old
farruska - from bo** of us
hurshy have that one
so is there anything in this puzzle that actually uses the V ?
domo aregato, mr. ro***to
the last 4 letters of robo** - think technology
ohh... farruska...sorry... um, ever seen battle ____?
Farruska, do you have the nickname for mechanical humanoids?
oops, gotta run. hungry child awaits her lunch! c u later.
*dryly* thanks Lupe613... i'm done for the night... 103 words... nites!!
vicuna have no idea :/
bye ca$h
jasonplan no the v isnt used
Bye - EBTG
Not the only thing that word is a nickname for Vicuna. ;-) Evening everyone
I'm a little more middle aged, hurshy. Before ph4 became a pretty hot and tasty word, I thought it meant pleomorphic hyalinizing angiectic tumor -- I'm such a dolt.
huh. that's a shame
hey jmds - hows the baby..
did all the women notice obgyn or is it just me?
missed that hurshy WHEW!
mab - not dolt, that sounds very impressive
Evening jmds
Good ta Lupe. Gorgeous as always. Takes after his mum!
pt6?
:-)
cybernan...just saw your post about what old is...my mum said she didnt start feeling old til she turned 90..
preety please with cherry on top? :D
movie with Will Smith: I, Ro***
cybernan pt +vowel +you might have a nervous ...
une yes i know but that's 3 letters only
farr - add an S
make it plural farruska
hurshy it has accepted. but.... how do you build it on the grid ? :/ it's not according to the rules or is it ?
the upper T, farr.
back to subdue the rest of the grid. maybe.
Thanks, Cait :)
Hi Atalante...
(Sorry, Jarruska. Children were implored not to mess with the toilet that's plugged. Children messed with the toilet that's plugged. Ugh.) there's a bo4/4 that means the parasitic larvae of a kind of fly, but sounds like it's short for electronic metal people (think of "femmebo---" in Austin Powers?)
hmm. i still don't get that nervous clue...
ata - status? i went to list w/ 18 to go :(
YW cyber
(oops, *Farruska*. Sigh, not getting anything right today!)
justafreep i'm missing something on the rules then .... don't get it how the plural of bo** is accepted. has a letter on the grid in between the upper t
5 words left -- all oc's and an on -- totally stymied!
There's an s directly above the upper t.
15 to go Hurshy - and just about to get the list I think
vicuna maybe i'm not explaining. so you have BO than you have the upper T, but i though one could only use direct horizontal and vertical and diagonal, not skipping letters. now i'm really confused
jason have you got the clue now?
as long as you don't skip over a letter you are ok...in this case, all the letters are concurrent as you go around the other letter to get to the last two letters in the word - like boggle.
oh hurshy i was just joking - i looked that up.
cybernan - all the oc work off the same next 3 letters, think about the popular st. paddy's dring, black & *** than use differnt endings & plurals
There's an o to the NE of the b...
farruska - you have the rules right - just go UP UP UP
Farruska - you have the BO then the upper T then the S immeditaely above the upper T
The oc 5/12 is the first three letter of the prefix that denotes eight followed by the first half of Hathaway's first name. The 6/21 is a plural of that.
lol, then, mab :)
Thank you, jms
op7? am i going to regret asking for this?
its not very clear, Hurshy :P
Atalante i got that, but what about the C in the middle? how does it not go againts the rule?
Just looking for the on 5/12, now--please?
nan - take an5/12 and kick the a out for the o
ata - all i can think is opaque - related somehow?
hurshy, op+lst vowel + ci 4/7
doesn't have to be a straight line, just "touching"
Farr - as long as you don't skip over a letter you are ok...in this case, all the letters are concurrent as you go around the other letter to get to the last two letters in the word - like boggle.
Hurshy -- degree of transparency
You're very warm, hurshy!
the C really has nothing to do with it. you have a make a "snake" as it were, so you can go diagonally to the right then back diagonally to the left without a problem
hurshy op + vowel + ci4/7
UP UP UP UP UP
i got it ty all
very related, hurshy :) how clear would you like?
I seem to be missing it with respect to the to4/4'2. I have the one that has to do with weight and the one that has to do with Napolean Dynamite's lunch food. But I can't find the third to4/4 - any hints?
64 words - I'm done for the night I think.
jmds great clue ty
sorry hurshy, that really was a dumb clue. sometimes I find myself amusing, to the detriment of all!
(I liked it, Atalante!)
Thanks, Atlante -- swear I tried that! Done--woo hoo!!!!
ok..im all done..would anyone like any clues?
no ata, lovely clue, prob was only my momentary op7!
^5 rolin!
I like clues like that. I can always beg for something more obvious if I don't get it.
Got to go now catch you all tomorrow happy babbling bye
nan - I swear I tried that earlier too without it being accepted! LOL dear babble!
bye caitlyn
Bye, Cait
bye cait
Anyone want a clue before I leave?
Thanks Cyber...
turbodog, I haven't seen Napoleon Dynamite. Does he eat a food that involves taters?
ta6?
Yes - tater to/4's ;)
ta 6: one who cures hides?
vicuna yes, and anagram them
ta6 - someone who likes sitting in the sun
I can't seem to get the a word that is on the bottom row. Any hints?
ab4, chris
I think George Hamilton is a professional ta6
There, turbodog, did you catch jeffer's comment?
ta6 also ryhmes with "a supporter of Mao"
to 4/4: toddlers
ab 4/6 - another word for stomach muscles, with a round vowel in the middle.
hello!
Vicuna - thanks I did see his comment. I have the tater one and I have the weight one, but I am still missing a to4/4 somehow. <scratches his head>
thanks folks, got it
down to this to 6/7 combo... if it is easy don't give me a clue but if it isn't then go ahead
Hi TO!
There's one where you just rearrange the letters of the taters/toddlers.
its a common babble stupidhead word (s)
Hurshy -- the bells are ringing........
turbodog not only anagram, but go opposite direction
argh - found it - many thanks
Bye everyone -- see you at the flip :)
the BELLS are ringing... the bells are RINGING... the bells ARE ringing... THE bells are ringing... the BELLS are RINGING...the BELLS ARE RINGING...THE BELLS ARE RINGING... (this is me pondering)
bye cyber!
homonym for word meaning poison
The bells in question are alarm bells.
Cybernan - sorry to miss you! I'm back to get my last words.
hurshy sounds poison- y
Good luck, Haz :)
ok got it thanks all :)
bye nan!
Thanks - see you tomorrow, hopefully.
funny, when i have seen that word before i just assumed it was an alternate spelling of the poison word
Babble: entertaining AND educational!
A male chicken castrated when young to improve the quality of its flesh for food
Was that in response to anything, Dirtyd, or just an outpouring from the heart! :O
ca5 word
*relief* :)
dirty -- kid being helpless over and over and over?
Another day, another puzzle. Just put that one away, in other words, I've finished and it's still quite early.
way to go, wren!
Congrats, ExWren!
how about a clue for the 8 please?
hello everyone.....back from feeding overfed cats, underfed kids, and not so overfed me !!
bo 8/50 - one who studies plants
thanks, haz! hi, karys! : )
build on b4/6 and b7/40
hi Temple :)
this is probably a stupid question, but I'm new here.... you seem to know when you're finished? How's that?
there are 133 words to find ylleria
Find out how many words there are for the day - either by asking or by going to the Babblers anonymous link to the right - and when you have found that number of words... voila! you're done!
Thanks, karys, but how do you know that?
ylleria: there are no stupid questions in babble - just stupid head words...welcome!
Ditto that Temple!
Thanks, folks. :)
ylleria....did you see Vicuna's post ?
ylleria - just out of curiosity - what does your name mean?
good afternoon all
12 to go, now I really am getting the list!
<-- New. 133 words?! *looks at 44 words* oh my
b7/40? I'm just not seeing it...
aloha smiley!
Hi smiley :)
Yes, I saw vicuna's post, thanks for that. My username doesn't really mean anything, it was just made up for a role-playing game. It's really useful online as it's never already taken.
bo7/40 - relating to plants, some cities have these type of gardens.
Atalante...21 here....not giving in yet !!!
can't believe "catonit" isnt a word. I use it all the time - "Why cant I sit on the sofa?" "Because theres a ......" ;) Even' all!
The only time I had heard anything like it was on the TV show Angel - Illeria was a character. I'm sure it's not ever taken!
i must not be very smart b/c I don't see 133 words in this this is my first day at it maybe I will figure it out:)
ha! great clue, Haz I love the b7/40 gardens in San Diego, actually
I wouldnt either, Karys, but I've got to go in a few minutes, so I'm rushing through the last few!
LOL...LOL...Dachef !!!!.....hello bytheway :)
Oh yeah - I'd forgotten about Illeria on Angel, I was quite surprised when it first got mentioned!
Glad you got it agate.
thats it Atalante...time !!!
Dachef, usually I can't get up from the sofa because of a catonme!
LOL Dachef - there should be dogonit too!
Been too chatty - 50 to go... HA Dachef! I suffer from that as well!
going to make a big effort now with the 'c's
Atalante, "dogonit" is useful even when you don't have a hound. "Dogonit, kids, I told you not to sit on the cat!"
So you know the show ylleria? that's great. Usually a Buffy or Angel reference gets me laughed out of the room! LOL
here its "dogonit dog, I told you not to sit on the cat"
actually, because I am a bachelor (and typical slobby male), its usually more along the lines of: "Why cant I sit on the sofa?" "Because its got the rancid remains of last nights take away on it."
I watched all of Buffy and Angel. And Firefly. In fact, I was at the second ever showing of the firefly film :)
As long as you can still tell that apart from the cat, you're doing fine.
done
Well.
Good to know I'm not alone then...my husband gets a good chuckle that I own the entire DVD collections. hehe
congrats Atalante! Got a clue for the bo6/27?
Congrats!
Atalante - now that you're done - who is your icon?
OOOO!! And congrats!!!
dachef - its a black grouper. you know, one of those words you use 10 times a day ... right ...
and its Hayden Christensen
First three letters, 007's surname, next three begin opposite of alkali
oohh WELL DONE Atalante !! :D
Thanks Haz - the other grouper clues I didn't get but that one worked.
That's good.
got it! Its actually Catalonian for "good-to-yes".
*interested* how do you know catalonian, dachef?
I dont really. My girlfriend is from Girona nr Barcelona. I only speak a few words. And those badly.
its a weird coincidence - I don't think I've ever known anyone who speaks catalonian before 2 weeks ago - and now I've met 2 people who speak it straight after each other
I really hate 7 letter words, my mind is just not that good! Anyone got the co7/32?
Chef...a dish co/7..of so many ingredients
and I realy hate it when the word turns out to be a word in common usage like that instead of a medical term or something else obscure! Cheers Karys!!!
Atalante - who else do you know speaks Catalonian?
yw chef....know exactly what you mean...I couldn't see the 's'. washing thing earlier !!
she's someone I met through a Finnish friend - she's an artist and fellow Tolkien freak who comes from somewhere near Barca but lives in Ireland!
May I have guidance on pt6 please? was sure it had to be ptocin, but obviously it's not. (I'm so annoyed with myself -- spent at least 20 minutes looking for the last sn5/10 if you can believe that)
pt plus ot4
Bless you Haz. Done.
oc 6/21 (2nd) and oc 7/32 are hiding a hint please
Congratulations!
The second oc 6 uses a different last letter - just one along in the alphabet
Hi all -back from dinner & watching Child of our Time - it was a lovely episode about triplets.
oc6: oc + what you get when you sit in the sun, plus t. Pluralise for the 7.
congrats Mab!!!!!!!!!!!
like a sextant, jeffer, but 8.
I have a word that's not on Mr. P's list....I'm confused it's ab4/6
haz1558 - i didn't stare enough! ty
agate, mrp forgot that word today
yes agate...was mentioned before
The ab 4 used to be used as a derogatory term for native Australians.
ty mab and dachef
whew! I thought I was going crazy....
Sorry, agate, you already have it...
Hi all!! One word left...not even a biggie....*sight*
well thats it....STUCK...going to have to go for the list !!!
Maybe that is why MrP left it off the list - she is Australian, and that word can be pretty offensive there.
Hi Schroeder
good call chef....could be
evening all
It's possible, you're right, Dachef.
hi there Schro :)
hi sha :)
Evening sha.
tough two? hints for on 5/12 and sn5/12 please

on 5/12 - add a nervous twitch
hi kids.
thanks haz i must've tried that one before!?!
wb boreetos :)
Hi Karys and Snowy, I hope you are both doing well..the sun is finally out here, at least for a few days
sn 5/12 - add three letters which sound how someone with a lisp would pronounce AS.
Hi boreetos!!!
We've had sun today too! It's the 1st time the sun felt warm today! There's hope of a spring yet!
haz excellent! i was nowhere near that one. ty
Haz - you should make clue giving your lifes' work! you give really clear clues TY
It's a funny word - looks like something Lewis Carroll might make up!
Snowyowl - just found out that I am moving to Swansea in August. Opening a retaurant in Salubrious Place in the town centre!
Hi Folks :)
Hi Bugzy!!
Hi Bugzy :)
haz i bet you can't do as well with ta 6/18 and ta 5/10 ......
Thank you, Snowy - I'm glad they work!
an 5/10?
how bout some help on the ab4?
Wow Dachef, that sounds so exciting!!!
An 5/10 - if you have the an 4 which means 'against' then the an 5 is the plural.
Dachef! great news! You won't be far from home then! CATHB works not far from there -she'll no doubt be popping in for lunch -They have a ladies who lunch group.
ab + hoop + plural
Hi Bugzy
Ah, ty
The Engine - plural of your an4/4! Boreetos: derogatory term for Aboriginals in Australia. Snowy - tell her I'll give her a discount!!!!!
thanks schroeder!!
I'll come too then Dachef!!!!!!! Is this a chain or a private resteraunt- Didn't you used to work for Nandos? We saw the one in Bath not long ago and thought of you then
OOOPs Spelling!!!!!!
Snowyowl - yeh, thats the one. Just signed the deal with the contractors for Swansea. Also going to open a new one in Mermaid Quay in Cardiff in the summer, so should be fun!
OK, I need a hint for my last word - ba4/7, not the one where you get clean... Please?
You'll beon your old stamping ground definately then -Welcome Home!!!
Bugzy - switch the last two letters around
Bugzy - swop the last 2 letters..... bloody stupid word.
bugzy anagram for a currency
Bugzy, swap the end around
ba4/7 - Thai (I think) currency, mix up letters in the clean place
ta 5/10 please anyone?
a little assistance on the in5?
ta5/10 - sounds like Lone Ranger's sidekick
Aargh... no wonder I couldn't get it !! Thank you, everyone :D
in5 - not appropriate, like clumsy, but with different middle vowel
ta 5/10 always gives bother! First three letters 'to colour in the sun' then homonym of two
I am totally new to this..how many words do people get on average
thanks vicuna! great clue!
vicuna - trigger? just kidding thanks all for all
evening folks :D
Welcome, adavant! The number of words people get varies from day to day, since the number of words total varies for each puzzle. There are 133 today...
hi sherb.
Hi Sherb!!!!
advant - depends on how many bottles of wine you've had. In my experience, the more wine you drink, the more words you find. After a coupla bottles, you dont really care. (hic).
how many words are there today?
hi there sherb :)
anyone notice that the P in PBR is in the puzzle today?
Hi sherb LOL Dachef !
hi boreetos and Schro :D :D
thanks for the welcome..let me get this straight.. are you telling me you have found 133 words in this puzzle.. cuz I got sumpin like 12..lol are we all seeing the same letters?
hi sherb!
LOL Dachef, now I know your secret to finishing.....
hi Karys, Bugzy, snowy :D :D :D ...I'm feeling tipsy just looking at the log...
lol dachef. I prefer beer, but the rules are the same either way.
Many people find all the words every day, using the tools on Babblers Anonymous or Angelsong's Page (links to the right under Friends of Babble)
the wac follow the thread for adavant who just asked a similar question to yours
and after lots of alcohol, all the stupidhead words somehow seem to make sense ...
how can I get a little flag beside my name ..sniff
lol adavant. . same here
But all the real words don't...
great isn't it sherb? LOL
go pro!
Evening all Finally finished today's grid, Work just so got in the way today LOL!!
hi fmitch.
Hi FMitch, Congrats!!!!!
To get a flag and a picture and a handbag, you need to buy a Pro subscription. $10 for a lifetime of fun and addiction!! You also get a nifty little grid that shows you the # of words beginning with each tile...
Hi Fmitch!
hi FMitch....Well Done there..!!...:)
im still waiting on my handbag.. :(
Ya4 for Fmitch!
whats the point of playing if yer going to look words up..am I missing someting, I mean besides an h
Must heat up lunch...brb
I agree, adavant.
you got a blue one boreetos....how many do you want ?
But you've got a lovely blue handbag Boreetos!
Hey to everyone and thanks for the greetings.
:) wow, I'm really dense. I finally get that joke. :) thanks for pointing out the insanely obvious. I'll just put my head down now and wait for someone to touch my thumb.
how many words?
Boreetos, that little light-skinned bloke in the blue shirt next to your flag, that's meant to be a handbag!
stubie..it hardly makes much sense does it?..I mean..why not just get my mother to play for me ..
What's the biggest word anyone's got?
People use different help tools as they wish. Some use no tools at all. It's personal preference, and not really a competition for many of us...
Err, I want a clue, not the word.
oh dear boreetos....never mind...just shows you're one of us !!!
hey stubie, wouldn't telling you be the same as looking it up?
i have a snobtap fro 7 letters..
I still say the "handbags" are more like coins going into slots. Although that could just be a macho thing cos I dont want to be associated with owning a handbag.
Hi all. cocktail hour already? I was here earlier and no one was drinking. This must be the fun group.
Clue, dude, not word.
stubie didnt ask for the word, just how many letters
i look until I get really stuck, then I look at the second letter list, ask for hints as needed as pretty much proceed like that until I run out of time for the day. But there is the rare exception when I've got just a small handful of words left and really want to finish the grid, a task that happens quite infrequently, and so I resort to the wordfinders.
The largest word in this puzzle is 8 letters.
There's one 8-letter word today, that's the longest one...
bo 8/50
Stubie, no one ever gives out the words. (At least, not on purpose.) The lists people are talking about give the first letter or two, and number of letters or points, so that you can figure out which words you already have and where you should try looking for more.
Oh, drat. If there's only one, I already have it. It's a 50 pointer.
bo8/50 someone who works with plants
And done. All hail the little grey boxes. Anyone stuck?
too much help
stubie/adavant - lists give you a CLUE if you're stuck, and they only show the first two letters... :D
Hi peester. It's always cocktail hour somewhere on Babble :)
Hurray Dachef!!!!
Congrats Chef...!!!!
I'm not trying to insult anyone. As was pointed out, there are people who use tools (including a dictionary) and those who don't. I have no problem with those people at all.
Congrats Dachef!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya4 for Dachef!
hey! I'm a bo8/50!! yay me!
....and then there are those of us who come to blather and enjoy great conversation....instead of EVER finishing a puzzle - hello all....
Is tophat really not a word?!
yay for dachef!!
Lupe LOL and Hi!!!
"let's go back to headquarters for debriefing and cocktails."
Hi Lupe LOL blathering again!!! LOL
hi lupe!!!
Hi Smaller....LOL
Hey Smaller and Lupe :)
hey smaller!! ...I grew some mustard and cress once... does that make me a bo8 too?
hi tink!!!!!
Stubie, and anyone else who wants to know, there are: 69 x 4 letter words 39 x 5 " " 16 x 6 " " 8 x 7 " " 1 x 8 letter word Total 133
hi Lupe, that's really what it's all about isn't it? I don't see this as a competition or anything, just an escape for a little while. :)
Hey Lupe! good conversation? Here? Where? I want it conered and shot. Things like that should not be allowed on Babble.
HOLY COW THAT IS A LOT OF WORDS.
all hail the blatherer... hi Lupe!!
well I still say using clues is like getting yer mom to do your homework
sherb, did you grow them in a bo7 garden?
You're right bugzy... and the clues do seem more spot on after a martini or two! I finished early today, thanks to some botany & math clues from some newcomers (Hi new people)
Hi smaller!!
Another option if you don't like clues: Hide the chat log.
hi smaller, bugzy, snowy, schroe, *takes breath*, FMitch, Dachef, boreetos *blacks out momentarily*
It's not homework, adavant, it's supposed to be FUN! :)
can anyone tell me how many words are in today's puzzle? Still haven't sprung for that premium membership yet :)
adavant you can always hide the log if you dont want to see the clues.
exwren.. I have no idea what any of that means..
Smaller: as long as you're not a sn4/6!! :)
HI Sherb!! Of course!! I only have a degree and a job in it, but i'm still quite ignornant. I'd probably kill cress and mustard! hi bugzy and snowy!
oops, nevermind, just saw it! thanks!
Vi - actually, I grew them on a flannel... but thanks for the clue!!
well can I just add that for those of us not as clever as some others ....any help is welcomed !!!
Hi Lupe, Hey I have sun today :)
Everyone to their own choice. I prefer to use a2z when I am stuck for a word, there are some very unusual words in these puzzles
ok kids, I got to get back to work, I'll see you all in a few short hours. :)
f mitch.. I dont even know what or where or where the log is..
Bye boreetors.
*wakes up* and hi Sherb.... LOL Dachef.... Shoot to kill! *ducks to dodge bullets*
Later Boreetos!
Bye boreetos
bye boreetos :)
bye boreetos!
Bye Boreetos!
81 words left to find, huh? we'll see about that...
lol bugzy!! one can never be a sn4/6 when one grows corn co4/7!
Schroe - not sure - no windows in my office..brb
dont get too schnockered before I get back!
adavant - what you and I are typing in is the log
adavant - the log would be the long wordy thing that says 'CHAT LOG' at the top... :D
<runs to catch up with log that is moving faster than a whippet with diorrhea> and on that note I must leave you all. Good luck, and good night.
Yup - got sun out here too! nice blue sky.
adavant, try spending a little time reading Babblers anon, you might learn something about us babblers
Night Dachef!
LOL Smaller ! And what a nice mental picture Dachef!! See you :)
rofl dachef!!
sherb... forgive this is my first time in here.. if you gave me a clue, I wouldn´t know how to decypher it.. so no need to hide nuttin
Hi Ex wren -nice looking cocktail!
Oh, Lupe, that means we'll have sun tomorrow! Yippee! It's gray and nasty today :(
Dachef - always ready with a perfect turn of phrase :D ...nitey nite :D
bye chef :)
hi there - is there really a word that starts with PT?!?! I'm at a total loss here....
Just 3 words and I'll be done. Any clues for the last three ca's? They may be obvious words, but I'm oblivious!
2 of the three ca's are small chickens...
exwren..I have no problem with the chatting aspect of the game.. I think its good.. its the clue stuff I dont get
Hope so -- you never know with Chicago weather - there could be 2 feet of snow by the time I leave work in an hour. I'd never know since I am enclosed in my little box here.... rumor is we'll be getting colder weather....
pt6/24 - add the o4/5 that has to do with ears
The FIz - try a2zwordfinder.com or morewords.com... :D
but the third from the end is the chicken with its tail cut off!
gwen - ca4 - a hat plus a vowel (guitarists use this) ca5 - instruction to child to don a hat ( or type of chicken) ca 6- plural
Bye Dachef... Lupe isn't it a beautiful site :) News says no snow here till Friday....woot
It's an Irish cocktail, and faerie and I started with the same one, but it's like going to a wedding in the same dress, she changed hers!
I'm looking for 80's - so so disappointed.
adavant - read Angelsong's Babble Page - link on the right of the screen... it's really useful for new Babblers... and have fun :D
There were wet flurries flying around at lunch... Not supposed to get above 45 here for the next week or so... This is spring???
thanks bugzy - anyone know what that means? been following the clue discussion and i personally like to learn new words.
Thanks all!
It is in our parts Bugzy.....
adavant, the kind of clues you see depends upon who's here at the time. Some give definition clues, some give "sounds like", others hint at letters (hoop = o, 2nd vowel = e). It just depends - there's mystery! there's humor! there's helpfulness! even, dare I say, sarcasm?
The Fizz clicking on the ? next to the word should give you the definition
Fiz - it's the adjective form of "Abnormal lowering or drooping of an organ or a part, especially a drooping of the upper eyelid caused by muscle weakness or paralysis." If you click on the ? by the word, it pulls up the definition. :)
I agree Bugzy, hard to get excited about spring when I have 4 ft of snow on the ground and more still coming....
I hear you Lupe & Schro ... Oops, BRB ...
Well, it usually gives a definition, but for some reason the question marks use a different dictionary from the game and sometimes the question marks don't know what the game is talking about.
Man, the bo 6 and 7 are giving me fits
bo6/27 - first three letters of 007's name, followed by first letters of opposite of alkaline
bo 7/40 is the plural
engine: bo 6... think child star (partridge kid) now obnoxious adult actor Danny Bo++++ci and drop the du in the middle. For bo 7, add s to the end
how many words today?
TheEngine - it's a fish, which might not help. Think of the actor who played the youngest partridge - and take out the "du" from his last name.
schro!
133 words
peester - glad to see I'm not the only one!
Oh fiz... were you here earlier or did we both watch some of the same dumb TV?
been away for a while .....but i need help for the bo6/27 and 7/40 if anyone can help please
RobRob!!!!!
Hello mo - clues just given recently, take your pick!
ooh, Partridge Family clues... now you're talking... :D
Hi mo!
thanks Haz
let's go build a tunnel in the snow
thx haz :)
many, many years of the same tv - and now recycled as their lives fall apart on VH1...
I heard you can stay really warm in snow caves......
I heard that too...something about body heat or something
willing to test that rumor schroe? LOL
.....and? come on! it's a slow afternoon here and the grid's boring. the capone/tsm wedding thing didn't pan out so we're itching for a little sumthin sumthin
smaller - I swear you are reading my mind - we didn't lose TSM did we????
Smaller, will you marry me?
Maybe we should try...just to make sure it's true..wouldn't want false rumors floating around
Oh wait, I guess my family might not appreciate that. Sorry.
hi snowyowl... how are you doing? have finally got the bo6 and 7 thanks
and...the snow doesn't melt????
*blushes*
I was just trying to shake things up for you.
vicuna, and my handbag is pink so it isn't legal in my state! lololololololol
How about a snowball fight instead? Losers have to provide the hot toddies afterwards? *Lobs a volley of snowballs in the general direction of USA*
Well, I guess all soaps have their "slow" days...
way to go robrob and tink, it's good for science!! these things must be determined. for all posterity
I'm fine Ty mo! Bit frazzled with this grid but OK otherwise
* splash splash splash* That the best you can do?
*gets giant rubber band and lobs massive snowball westwards...*
LOL Lupe and Vicuna!!!
any quiddlers here? today's is awful, only 4 vowels, 2 u's and 2 i's
where's my snowball super-shooter!!???
*adds some snow from the UK direction*
I don't know.....we will find out..
(Yikes! Run for cover!!!)
any help on ca5/14 and ca6?
Hi again hurshy :)
hurshy - no more games!! ...I can't cope with Babble and sudoku as it is... :D
Don't run!! Fight Fight Fight!
hey you should all come to N.Notts ...we have had a few slight coverings of snow this year...its been cold but that is to be expected.....and today has been glorious...a bit cool but very sunny
ca5 and 6, one and two castrated chickens, respectively
You don't want to start a snowball fight with me...I have a lot of snow and I know how to use it!!!!
oops, rubber band snapped...
Lupe, I can't tell whose side you're on!
You go GIRL!! er- You go Schroeder!
email alert
Switzerland
Darn it sherb! Shro - go on lob it over here - it's so mild here it will melt before imact :)
ty
No snow in Kentucky... I think I'll just throw those castrated chickens!
Schroe, you live in California. How much snow can you have?
Lupe you are only saying that cos Switerland has lots of snow and you can you yr own army.
co5/12 and co6/21 are alluding me any clues please
Well, if you join us, Lupe, we'll have the British Isles cornered.
Vicuna, She gets a TON!!! Doesn't seem right does it? I questioned that too. Shouldn't it be a law that if you get to live in CA it has to be sunny and 75 always!!
mo - ever take trigonometry?
co5 and 6 - think of people browning their skin together (sing. and pl.)
Oooh - I didn't think of that FM - I like your way of thinking, wanna join my team?
thats it....all gone grey !!!!
LOL Vicuna, I don't live in sunny S. CA, I live in the mountains in No. CA...currently have about 4 ft+ on the ground...
mo, for co5/12: two people lying on a beach, catching the sun's rays. co6 is the plural.
And here I am in New England and no snow anywhere. Just goes to show I shouldn't make assumptions! :)
email :)
Oh doesn't lying on a beach sound lovely ( properly lotioned of course) - a book, a sunbed & water gently lapping at your feet - bliss
Congrats Karys!
Congrats Karys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
Snowy - I hope to be doing exactly that in about 3 weeks!! In Mexico!
Vicuna - whereabouts in NE?
ty..ty...thanks for the help received x
suburbs of Boston (Needham)
Except that I will also have my 11 year old nearby building sandcastles.
oohh lupe...wish i were going too
Vamonos Karys! The more the merrier!

Glad you can - it's tough for me!
I so would love a vacation, I so need a vacation, some where that the sun shines......*dream*
aahh...been there....done that....doesn't look so bad from this distance in time !!!
Hey all... I'm back from the dungeon (been taking boxes dow to the cellar for storage). Good news: the kids don't have strep throat, but Gwyd has an ear infection...
Can't chat any longer, didn't realise what the time is. Have fun all and see you again real soon.
How lovely Lupe! I'm so jealous! Send the 11 yr old a safe distance away to dig -they can annoy somebody else then! LOL
Vicuna and Angel thanks for your clues but i am being so terribly thick .. i still cant get them!!!!
Good news/bad news - Hi Jera!
Bye FM!
bye FMitch....see you soon :)
nite FMitch :D ...hi Jera :D
Bye FMitch
Hi Jera! Bey FMitch!
Every February I get the urge to run away to Australia... then Spring comes & I'm okay with Virginia once again
okay, mo, start with a camp bed or bed in an infirmary, then add first two letters of the name of Shakespeare's wife. Does that work?
LOL snowy.. the only downside is that we have to travel for about 5 hours to get to the "sleepy fishing town" we'll be staying at....all this to stay away from spring breakers!
Ooh Jera - I'd love to visit Australia in Jan/Feb...too soon after x-mas cash flow usually low then.
thats the bit 11 year olds don't like !!
ok, MO...try this. Use the co4/5 for small bed + first vowel + coNsonant for the co5.
wow. first time here. this is fun. how do you know if you've found all the words? and how do you see current scores from everyone? i found an 8 letter one! woot!
LOL Karys....
Back to work for me..... *sigh*
well done drosera !!
Sorry Vicuna - work calls :) I live in NH so I was curious when you said NE. I have relatives in the Belmont/Framingham area.

It'll be worth it when you get there. Was on holiday once and my 10 yr old daughter screwed up her face and said ' Oh look mummy TOURISTS!' I don't know what she thought she was!
drosera, there are 133 words today in the grid. Check out Angelsong's Babble page via the link under Friends of Babble for lots of helpful information on Babble.

Hello, All, I'm back from my shopping trip, lots of good stuff. Smaller, did you catch any of evanonut's andmy chat yesterday? We were wondering who we would cast in the movie version of Stephanie Plum, Ranger and Morelli. Got any ideas?
hi chic :)
Hey all. I'm done sanding the dining room and running the vacuum. 37 more words to find. They are making a movie of the Steph Plum books? Cool! I am just finishing 7 UP
Hi Karys, that's a lovely pink drink you have there..What is it?
hi chic :D
Thanks gang. I finished this one with only two hints. Still took 5 hours though
busy girl there musicm

Sandra Bullock for Stephanie...

WOW pg - good job!
Karys - I have to get it done. We are having a party on April 2.

Excellent pg !!!
No, MM, we were just speculating on a movie for our own fantasy of course. Although I think it would be a great HBO series.
ooooo....loads of time yet then music !!!
34 words left and I'm going crazy...
Hi chic & MM MM it's so good to multi task! LOL I saw the Steph Plum conversation yesterday & still can't think who I'd like for either. Johnny Depp is very good to look at but is he too slight to play Ranger?
mo - it ends and begins with the same letter - the middle three letters are used in many company names?
Oooo chic I agree. UM scept I don't get HBO we're on satellite.
Snowy - that's funny. I thought Johnny Depp for him as well.
Hi Sherb and Snowy, 'nut did pick Sandra Bullock too. I think we need to search for hot Italian and Cuban unknown actors!
Karys - I go back and forth thinking I have loads of time and totally freaking out!
Oh I am glad -not very good at actors or groups & I didn't like him at all until I saw Chocolat & after that - well ****************************** ** A girl can dream!
mo....try hair colour with third letter of the alphabet just before last letter of word
Of course I want Vin Diesel for Tank...
That's a good idea chic. Do you think Sandra is a little old?
know that feeling music....I am making 3 bridesmaids dresses in much the same manner !!!
all finished!
ohh ... the light has dawned thank you Lupe
Congrats Angel !!!...:) :)
congrats Angelsong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

I've just got a question about how you guys know what you're missing... like I know I'm missing 3 A's, but how do I know how long the word is and the point value of what I'm missing?
Sheryl, ta 5/14 is a weed, poisonous to cattle and can poison the milk as well; if you change the t to a p it spells a common flower in gardens
tobin, go to the babbler's anonymous link on the right of this page, click on general and then go to the stats page. It will give you the first two letter of the words in the puzzle and the point values.
Maybe I should introduce myself. I have been here about five days now, with a personal goal to get at least 100 words each day. Balancing work at home with word games... And this week one of my two kids is home sick. So I am only getting about half the chatter today.
tobin... go the the babblers anonymous link to the right, then click general, then click stats, you'll get a second letter list
tobin, see babblers anonymous link to the left for stat sheet
Also, if you upgrade to pro it will give a you a stats panel that tells you what tile the words are in.
nice to meet the new folks
oh yea right
Welcome new friends. Hello old friends.
awesome, thanks, yeah I went pro, but I didn't know how everyone was coming up with the first two letters, lengths and point values from the info it gives you there
ty stid thats the t's done down to 3 words
Well between the two aides Tobin you should be great. I actually like using both on long puzzles because the pro tile help and second letter list really give you two different types of information.

LA...you're killin' me! :)
op7 - obscure, dull. Think a type of glass you can't see through. op + vowel + large town/metropolis.
You're welcome Pele
ob 7/44 -- Conical, but having the apex downward; inversely conical.
ob7 - ob + shape of ice cream holder (adj., another word today).
Hi AKnitter! Thanks for the help from you and Charm. I have a meeting to go to but will be back late for my final 15. goodnight for now.

i'll consider myself duly warned!
he he he ......
hey andy 12489? your birthday? 12 4 is mine but not 89
Evening you lot! 1st bo7/40 is a fish. However, it is also an anagram of a plural of white vermouth. Cinzano Bi*****.
Ok, I am officially word blind with 5 to go...I need a clue for the pa5/14 and the subsequent pa6/24. I would be verrrry grateful.
The bo6/27 before it is the singular.
lwg 'don't pa****"! you will get it
pa5/14 - if you are very afraid you might pa***.
pa6/24 following is the plural.
hi aknitter, not my birthday, it is i n Dec b4 Xmas just a geometric row (1248) with an exceptional termination (9) LOL
thanks, Jacula. I guess I did pa***. I am also looking for clues for the first 2 to words. to6/21 and to7/32
mr. pres also thank you
AKnitter - I'm currently knitting (yet another) hairy scarf for my Mum. It's a grey, silver, white and black mix and looks like a ZZ Top beard. I think I might get photographed wearing it and pretend I'm Dr_God. LOL.
i can only imagine what you might look like with a beard jac I am working on a shrug right now
Hi everyone!
to6/21 & plural 7/32 is/are a warning sounded on a bell, or an omen. However, they sound rather toxic, like poisons.
Wolfie!)))))))))))))))HUGS(((( ((((((((((((((((( (Sorry, Seb! But you must be getting used to it by now.)
Oh I got smart tonight, Jac -- I finally pulled out the old bouncy seat we used with Kristianna - he is snoozing in it right now :)
(((((***Jac***)))))
Wolfie - Wonderful inventions, those things, provided you don't put them on a table or something and then leave the room! My son used to bounce to, aaargh, I can hardly say it, 'Agadoo' by Black Lace in his bouncy chair back in 1984.
thanks Jacula... I am finished. I appreciate the help!
ta6?
Well done, lwg. I hardly did anything, really. I only just got back in here.
ta6/18 - sounds like someone who sunbathes professionaly. Anagram of 'taints'.
pt 6/24, anyone? will trade any clue
thanks
pt + vowel + small annoying insect
pt6/24 - adjective form of term for abnormal lowering or drooping of an organ or a part, especially a drooping of the upper eyelid caused by muscle weakness or paralysis. Go for the clue before mine to find it!
Failing that, it's an anagram of 'tip cot'.
It figures --- Kristianna is asleep, Momma just stepped into the shower, and I get settled at the keyboard and guess who decides that waking up and making noise would be a good idea? :D
Wolfie - Give me an 's', give me an 'e', give me a 'b', give me an 'a'....etc., what's that spell? With thanks to the cheer from Woodstock. LOL.
thank you Jac and bruzie. It was the 'tipcot' that solved for me.
but but .... soba is a kind of noodle
Badcat - any time you need an anagram you know where to call. LOL. A lifetime of doing cryptic crosswords is my only excuse.
whisk -- you know that, I know that, but the Enable dictionary doesn't know that!
Whiskbisk - Welcome to the unfair world of Babbleonia, where words we know and love are rejected and words we've never heard of before are embraced and accepted like long lost sons.:-)
at 6/21?
gin and a
LeslieAnn a + kind of soda water
hmmm, always so much easier after i have a clue...
hi badcat - look what you made me do!! this is addictive!!
at6/21 - an unaccented word or syllable or a lack of muscle tone. Or, if you want a gin, you might also want a t*** to go with it.
Tarak - Oh dear, Babble claims yet another victim. LOL.
i KNOW jacula - this is crazy! good thing i can't do this at work or i would get nothing done...
I mean - why do 'you people' keep on falling for it? We leave warnings on the doormat these days so that other 'poor souls' don't fall into the trap we all did. *Sound of eerie, cackling laughter.*
op 7/44 anyone?
Andy - op7/44 - think of the qualities of frosted glass.
I am down to two words... can someone help me with ti 5/12? I am not sure which other one I am missing yet.
Jacula - thanks but don't get it :-(
ti5/12 - more normally seen with 'ure' at the end. Think og a shade of hair dye and add another consonant in the middle.
me neither.
op+vowel+a metropolitan area
Andy - frosted glass can't be seen through, it is op****. (That word uses a 'q'.) It therefore has op****. Op+ large town.
Think op+ New York.
weslie, maybe we are related!
op7 -- the quality of being impervious to light -- root word is a op5 that uses a Q
oh... got it! duh!! good jacula... now only um 71 to go says the newbie...
maybe...my middle name is ann as well...from the south, where we all have 2 names...hah
GOt it, thanks you JAcula and GreyWoulf
well, i usually don't use the ann but when i signed up just leslie was already taken :)
Wolfie - I take it you either have Seb on your lap or he's settled down?
Anytime, andy -- you have but to ask :)
i don't usually use it either...just have memories of getting in trouble as a child....the parents always used both of them if i was in trouble
y/w, Andy.
Weslie - parents ALWAYS use your full name if you're 'in trouble'. It's a fact of life. You will also find that, depending on what you've done, you will either be 'just like your father' or 'just like your mother'. This can also be detected by seeing which one is saying, 'YOUR son has just....' to the other.
TY Jacula! I must be tired... took me forever to figure out what you meant!
Weslie - or daughter. Sorry! Just noticed your handbag (purse) is pink. Not used to Weslie as a female name here in England.
very true...not just indicative of the southern usa
Stidmama - y/w. Mind you, you may not be tired. I could just be obscure. LOL.
my dads name is david wesley...mom was julie ann....they compromised with a little combo, but changed the spelling ...i was stinky in the 3rd grade when i had a dorothy hammil haircut and looked like a boy!
LOL, Weslie. Despite being 'a Brit', I know what you mean.
hi guys...back for my final 21!
This site, and others, on the word wide web, where you get to spea from people all over the world, has taught me that the greatest difference in language is, amazingly, between Britain and the United States. On the face of it we all speak the same language, but the differences and misunderstandings that occur on a day to day basis leave me wondering how our countries are still allies. LOL.
Hi, Kristinc. Not sleepless in Seattle, I hope? Sorry! Bad joke. I'm sure you've heard it before.
Hi Kristi! (*Hug*) -- 26 left here :)
very true Jac, there have been quite a few moments of confusion over differences in word usage
LOL Jacula! To be honest, I think this is the first time so actually very funny.
I did it!!!! I got them all!!! [for the first time] Time for ice cream, and then back to work. Thanks to all for clues -- and for giving me something that approximates adult conversation (grin).
Kristinc - The first? Blimey! That's a coup for me then! LOL.
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR STIDMAMA*~*~*~*~
great job stid!
hooray Stid!
hi all could someone give a clue with the bo7/40 which doesn't realate to bo8/50?
Her are a couple of words used differently that my other half, Paul, has almost got himself into trouble over.... Pants: UK = men's underwear or big knickers for girls. US = trousers. Cooker: UK = stove with grill atop and hob and oven beneath. US = ??? What?
bo7/40 you seek is the plural of the bo 6 before it.
sounds about right for cooker here jac-though not a common word. What about Napkins? That gets misunderstood in lots of countries though here in the US most of us wipe our hands and face with them.
*a depressed hurshy enters the chatroom* *is slightly cheered by sight of evilolive, whose palindromic name pleases her*
oh hursh feel better! good choice of cocktail!
here rubber=eraser, and while living in the states i asked to borrows someones rubber.... was rather embarrasing!!
hurshy, depressed?
Hurshy-Why so glum? Hah! I didn't even get the evilolive thing until now!
thanks leslie
co 7/32 hints pleease
what's up, hursh? (*hursh*)
glum bc... someone doesn't want to talk to me. don't know why.
very true evilolive. That would not get you an eraser in the US.
The proper word for the now-called 'serviette' to wipe your hands and face on IS 'napkin' here in UK. Not many people seem to know that now. The other 'napkin', now a nappy or nappie, here, is what babies wear.
hurshy you are the first to notice!!
that's because hurshy is a smartie!
i noticed the other day, evilolive, but didn't say anything bc you had already left
a napkin in Mexico will get you help for women--I learned that one the hard way.
anyone important hurshy
Chrome, you can have your hint once I've ((((HUGGEED)))) Hursh. What's up, love?
very important to me, yes.
hugs for Hurshy! (((((((((((((Hurshy))))))))))) )))))
i'm sorry then hursh, you think it will work its way out?
yes, nut... in about 5 days...
thank you all so much for the hugs. they are very very appreciated.
co7/32 - if something is a mixture of things, it may co**** of various ingredients. Failing that, think of your sister in jail (or gaol) - she'd be your co* s**.
co7 - to be made up of
hello everyone. does anyone have a clue for the big op word?
you guys are fantastic thanks!
op7 - the quality of not being able to be seen through, or thick-headedness
((((ALL))))
Pinecone - scroll back on the log a bit. All the clues you need for the 'op' word are there.
thanks Hurshy!
hello everyone! I was onn site around late this afternoon when chat became unreachable - anyone else have that happen? may i have a clue for the very first word please? ab4?
to 6/21? (not the plural)
thank you hurshy and jacula...i got it.
a+ your supervisor minus the last letter Hi TO!
temple its an aussie slang term for a native austrailan
to 6/21 as i learned today - alarm bells - sounds like a word for something poisonous
to 6 is clock noise + bad deed
Hi Temple. First word is a derogrative term for Australian natives.
leslie ann: alarm - think french revolution
ah, thanks folks
Thing is, Carl, it sounds like 'ebbos' when you say it! LOL.
hello lil leslie!
thanks jacs! i would really appreciate your help, all to finish last two...ti5/12 is one of them
well hello nat!
ti 5/12 has to do with color, and only has one vowel
Done...yipee! Hiya Nat!
start with a word for color and add a letter in the middle
I was once at a writers' convention, trying to translate between a Glaswegian and a Brisbanian. The Scot was trying to tell the Aussie about the point of a film, that the so-called heroes shot the Aboriginal. Eventually, tired of hearing them not understanding each other, I resorted to my knowledge of 'strine' from watching 'Neighbours' and 'Cell Block H'. 'Thay shat the Ebbo!' I told the Brisbanian. 'Oh!' he said, understanding at last. 'I always wondered what that was about.' RESULT! LOL.
