I do what I can cyber ..
cybernan... I agree those P words don't exist <g>
ya baby!
zoot and ying aren't words? that's odd. Capitalized, perhaps?
it's YIN and yang, not ying...
Thank you Angelsong ...
this is the quickest i've ever done one of these - well, not quit done, have 1 more to go & am really not seeing it - very frustrating!!!!
angel, I know that. But that ying isn't a word when ywis is... well, it's just WRONG, I tell ya!
freep brings up a good point... what is a freep, anyway?
it's a family word, actually. And also (unfortunately for our family!) the nickname of the Detroit Free Press
what does it mean in your family?
hellen, I'm impressed. I've been stuck on 61 and thought I was a superdooper!
in our family it was more of a sound effect, though I've turned it into a noun. Ahhh, the power of growing up!
well freep, i think i'll be stuck on this last one for eternity, if that makes you feel any better :)
i been on about 10 mins, i got 20 left, this is too small!
lol hursh
are you looking at the stats, hellen?
maybe the sudoku will take up the rest of your day
whatcha missing helen? maybe by some freakish chance... oh you're not a pro so you don't know
nah, i'm fast at sudoku
got the co7/40, but I can't find the 8.
angel look at co 7/32 and think
angel = past tense

thx andy - that was different
congrats, helen -- amazing, in fact!
no prob hursh, glad to help - but i bet by the time i'm done typing this you'll have, like, let's say, oh, about what? 2 left?
no, 16 - as usual, one of everything. 2 z's.
well nan, i must say, this is the first time i ever saw a board so clearly - i sure hope it happens again (knocking on the desk here)
whatever happened to zoot suits?
I'm missing the co7/32, which is why I don't have the 8.
angel - i think someone already gave a clue for that one - scroll back a bit
angelsong, co + consonant + a thing you do when you write down something you want to remember
nan, maybe that's what the other 'z' was supposed to be, but was a typo instead, lol
oh 2 p's 2 g's also. i am intrigued by this p7/8 that ppl say are not words - clue?
andy - do you have clue for the other co7/32 for me?
thanks andy

nope i'm in lisle. someone else is from niles, i can't remember who at the moment

also need pi 5/ 14 pi 6/ 24
Good morning, Ex-Wren - I've just logged on. Is this concert a solo effort or do you have support?
cashmyre oo** is To flow or leak out slowly, as through small openings.
got the no and oo..thx!
cashmyre pi** is A narrow, usually calibrated glass tube into which small amounts of liquid are suctioned for transfer or measurement. and the pi6 is plural
Hi Wren! Hi Haz! I was actually looking forward to a nice long one today. We haven't had a really big one in a while...
pi 5 is a thin glass tube used in a lab
yes, got em! oh man, i'm so awake now
Yes, good morning, Amandacath - I had hoped for a longer grid today, but maybe tomorrow we'll get our wish!
i have 4 words left. i'm gonna explode
you're done cashmyre?
which ones?
You mean if we just wish hard enough, Dr. G will hear us?
go cashmyre, go
I like smaller ones - time issue..
clues for: se 5/14 te 4/5
I'm not sure how it works!
me too Andy, although this is only my second one ever.
te 4/5 - plural for a discount airline United has launched
Hi haz, I sing in a ladies choir, my husband sings in a male voice choir, and this evening it is a joint concert with both choirs. On April 5th, my choir are travelling to Germany for 5 days, singing with a MVC in what was formerly East Germany!
se 5 - a tough one there were clues posted b4 mine is se + *** where *** is a last 3 letters of a plural for latin for mushrooms
That all sounds exciting, ex-Wren. I hope you have a great time this evening. At least singing in a choir means that you can enjoy yourself without feeling completely responsible for the whole thing.
Morning all..........
clue for ze 6/36?
nevermind...just got that ze
past tense of ze4
Morning, caitlyn.
Mornin Caitlyn!
good night gang cashmyre - need anything more b4 u finish?
Good night Andy have a good sleep
i have one word left!! gi 4/6

cashmyre - GI + a common prefix let me know if it too cryptic
andy, you have been so helpful...thanks!!!
gromit - see u soon which part of Atlantic you are? A
cash - same as other gi4 ("guys"), different ending consonant
There's gi4/6 - plural drink or gi4/6 - Scottish form of 'donate'
my pleasure cashmyre TTYS
Andy - Atlantic?
ok, drinks all around on me... I FINISHED MY 1st PUZZLE EVER!! thanks to all you awesome clue-givers :)
Yeah! Cashmyre!!
Well done cashmyre
i'm in Babble Heaven
Congratulations, cashmyre - your first puzzle finished, but not your last.

Sleep well.
C * O * N * G * R * A * T * S cashmyre
That r is in just about the un-useful-est place I can think of!
Help with the IN's please anyone?
Think of gold
Think gold, Luther
oz 7/48 A clue, please?!
I still dont see em, sorry im an idiot
Make a verb out of oz5 the gas.
gold bars I think
Luther - in plus past tense of 'obtained'
Luther - maybe pirate gold...
thanks haz , super clues i owe you one or better yet three.
Glad to help, Luther.
So just how short is this one - I don't want to keep looking if I already have everything (not that that's the case, I'm sure)
thanks everyone
80 words today.
Ah, yes. Well, 30 to go...
Thanks, I figured it went with the other oz's but I am still not finding it...
Put an ending on that sounds like what you use to see with.
Eren - british spelling on that verb ending, if that helps
I can't get OZ 7/48 either!
oz7 means to make into oz5
Okay - have you got the oz 5 - the one that has a diminishing layer? Take off the vowel at the end and replace it with a verb form that sounds like eyes but is spelt in the British way.
Got it! Yippee!
Well done!
Go Marc!
Thanks. I got it!
Good for you, eren
Oy! 9 7s, 2 8s! - wasn't expecting that!
Ow, a small one today! Morning, dear gang :)
morning sprite!
only 7 to go, i think ill sleep on em, nite nite everyone
Luther, you must be king of self control. No way in this world that I could go to sleep with only 7 to go, LOL!
well ive been trying to find the same 7 for nearly a half hour. its more frustration than self control.
:) Still wise, to leave those frustrating 7 for the morning when you are fresh. Sleep well! And feel free to ask for hints and clues if you are stuck.
thanks goodnite and good luck to the rest of you babblers
Good morning, Sprite.
Hi Haz :)
Could someone please hit me with the fish if I try goonies one more time?
It's a long reach, but I'll try.
It is SO almost there!
Argh! Just found this beautiful P9/P8 combo and it is NOT valid? What else would we call the sounds coming from a bagpipe?
Painful.
OOOHHH Sprite - just got a 7/8 combo from your bagpipe non-word. "Sound to make you energetic"...?
amanda, way to go! Thanks :)
or: sound made at a rally after school (US-specific, I know, but maybe you'll have heard of it)
Another nonword combo: area(s) designed for your favorite animal.
And I'm finished so I'd better do some useful things.
Bye Haz
Bye all!
??? Sprite - the one I'm trying for won't work. Animal you keep in your house + area?
That's why it is a nonword combo. It won't take. :(
Ahhhh, now I understand!
This grid is so full with them, I almost can't see the words that ARE valid ;) Well, one more 7 and I'll have the biggies covered.
Sprite, there are no goonies but there is a gremlin - alt. spelling
Got that one :) Can't make it with the Z, alas.
I'm missing one 7 as well. I've got: 3xc, 1xI, 1xo, 1xp, 2xs - what's missing?
1xm
that's what I was afraid of....
I was missing the O, thanks. For the M: there is a row of 3: Mo5/16-6/27-7/40.
*row = series
Ah, thank you. Had the mo5 - put it in a while ago, thinking "that certainly won't be valid" - but lo and behold...
I had exactly the same with the C-verion of that one :)
That one surprised me too - any idea what it is besides a country?
It's also a black tea grown in China.
What! no ZOOT? Surely!!!
hkj, I know, it's a sad grid today. But change the last letter and you have a word :)
im new on this ,how do i know how many words i need to finnish
Becky, one of the three bottom links on the list on the right will tell you all you want to know :) Good luck babbling and happy hunting!
Oh, and for today it is 80 :)
sprite - are you meaning the links like "Bablers Anonymous" ?
I've heard rumors that there's a yucky se lurking in the grid - it's evidently the one s I'm missing. Anyone know what it might be?
thanks sprite
Redhead: yes, those are the ones. amanda: that's the one I am missing too, apparently. Let's hunt together :)
Good Morning Kiddos.
se5/14 - but I don't know what it means.
Thanks Sprite...
Hi mum :)
Good grid today?
Fun grid, but a lot of almost words that are driving me nuts. I googled and found that Se5 is a kind of field rat.
And it is an anagram of "burn superficially"
Yay - got it. Must be off now to do shopping and stuff. Hope to be back later to get the last ---- arrrggghhh - 3!
I need 2 more, an E and a G. The hunt continues ;)
I don't actually get up this early. I've been out and about and to breakfast already... I don't know what to do with myself.
Holly: did you do the sudoku already? ;)
lol. I don't sudoku. hehe.
The IronSudoku link could bring you another addiction ;) Or... you could read a book!
Hehe. I'm sure I'll figure something out... but it's still weird to be conscious during this time of the day. I'm SOO not a morning person...
And that's me done for today. Great grid, but tricky. Thanks for the fun and company, dear gang. Great day/night/whatever and happy hunting.
Good night! :o)
I actually am an all kinds-of-time person. Late at night and early in the morning. Just NOT afternoons. I am close to a zombie in the afternoons. :)
does anyone have a clue for the o7
oz7/48 - to convert oxygen into oz5/22
sorry oz5/20
thx chris..didnt have the o5 to be able to build it..:)
Morning, all... some lovely, weirdo words today, what with the z & oo's!
ya better believe it jera...hi..

Me too but at 28...
Ditto at 7 left to find. What worries me is that I've found the weirdo words with no trouble!;-/
I just KNOW I can find more uses for the -ism & -ing... I just KNOW it!!
Very mad that zoot is not valid...
but a word very like it is..??...!!
Whoo-hoo, found the gold!

Not THAT one again?! Thanks, Chris!!
I've finished, but will hang around for a short while if anyone wants clues.
thats me finished
I haven't looked at the list so I don't really know what to ask for yet...
*sigh\8..i think im gonna have to resort to the list... but down to 17 without it...is the best ive ever done
Congrats, ruthy! And Chris, too!
Did it without the list
I always feel so silly when I have the big word but miss the little one(s) it contains...
How about some I clues... I always have trouble with vowels... I have the places to stay & the 2 gold bits...
yeah jera...i dont have the en6
I have en + si4/6
io4/4 - charged particles. Do you have the past tense of your gold bits, jera?
thats the one jera..ty
*smack* Can't believe I missed that one... told you I was bad with vowels...
Now I just need one more O... the one that starts from the second row middle...
Still mad oingo isn't valid...
jera - think of a singular number, but plural
What the... ptooey isn't a a word???
hello all
Thanks, Chris, I know I tried that... my finger must have slipped...
Mornin' sha!
oooh yes....i did it...i did it...first time ive finished without using the a2z...woohoo...for me...thx to all who posted clues...
I am missing a G gi 4 6 gi 4 6 gi 4 6 go 4 6 go 4 6 go 5 18
Congrats, rolin!!
jera - gi5/16 a gadget.
jera..gi6...a character from gremlins
oops..gi5..sorry
Thank you... alternate spelling, of course... that's another grey block!
Bah - only 80 words and it's the weekend. Oh well, good morning/afternoon everyone :)
Morning, mac... I wish we could have the big ones on the weekends, or at least not Thursdays!
are there any 8 letter words? help anyone?
I hear that, jera!
I'm done. Gotta run, folks. See you tomorrow.
Help with the p5 please ( not the pi5 that is pi4 + a consonant) I have looked for half an hour and cannot see it.
two 8-letter words
ta
pi5/14 - narrow glass tube for transferring liquid (also plural there too).
I loved making those in chemistry class!
Oh duh, I had the plural but was missing the singular version. Thanks. All done. Anyone need any clues before I go?
can someone tell me the letters & #/# for the 8 letter words?
I don't know how to ask for clues without the list...
pe8/50
co8/50 & pe8/50
co8/50
I have found the longer words often come from the smaller words... esp with the -ing in the grid... that's why I find smaller first... (but that's just me)
ah, interesting. Thank you
Gack... gonna hafta break with 12 to go... back later when I'm warm...
thats me finished
hiya everyone!
Hi Bex :)
what is todays picture theme?
Hello. How is the grid today?
Good morning, gramma... it's a small one
bex... I don't know what the theme is, sorry
Sometimes the small ones can be toughies.
That's true, gramma
Bex, I don't really know the theme for the day. I download them one month at a time. I'm always amazed at what comes up for the day. I'd guess black and white; but, I'm not sure ;}
Hi all - theme today is Black White Ball.
Hi snowy :)
I think gramma got it just right! LOL gramma - fantastic!
Welcome, all, to another small grid......
Thanks snowy. Now my icon makes sense. 8)
Hi macuser -well you were already all ready!
lol, snowy.. so I am... without any effort ;)
Hi movieman :)
just wondering, how many words contain Z?
Don't know how many times it's used, but 6 words start with it
Z is used 13 times I believe...
Just changed my icon to an image from one of THE classic 50's sci-fi movies, so....... REFRESH!!!!!
movieman... is that from... The Day the Earth Stood Still?
It certainly is, macuser...... To coin a phrase..... KLAATU BARADA NIKTO!!!!!
my sentiments EXACTLY, Movieman...
lol, now I remember that phrase! Great movie, indeed :)
Cat will not move.
Hi movieman & Miyavi! - Sorry - washed my hair in the middle of doing the grid- am in a distracted kind of mood today!
LOL Snowy...that makes two of us...I went on BabAnon this morning, now I'm writing a babble parody song XD or trying to...
Morning all Happy Saturday Just finished the puzzle in record time and without a clue from any of you lovely people, used the list but still made it on my own. A first for me. Now I need to learn to do it without the second letter list, lol
lol Sheryl, nice one :)
Congrats, Sheryl! :)
WTG!
I'm waiting for the husband tio get back with the shopping so that I can do some baking -Everywhere he goes now takes an hour! If its for a newspaper or a months shopping -1 hour!

Congrats Sheryl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone got the 2 eight letter words yet....? And if so, could you clue me up, plz......
haha, Snowy...at least you could set your watch by him...
IO've got a HUGE pile of ironing I could send you if you're at a loose end Sheryl !LOL
I have one, movieman... co8/50
movie the one is a P word is a compound word think of waht cheerleaders have and add your to 5/10
I've got a pe 7 & 8 movieman pe7 -1st 3 letters of a mint + quality of sound + plural for the 8
Good Morning All, may I please have clues for the 8 letter words
snowy ironing has to be one of the things I hate most, I will re wash something just to keep from ironing it
Okay, I'm going off on a coffee run...anyone else?
snowy, thanks so much, now to look for the co8
LOl Sheryl -I must admit that my husband does most of ours -But he'd be glad I saved him a job! I think he's beginning to be really sorry he took early retirement! He says Ishould have been a careers officer, I can find him so many things to do
movie the other 8 is a co is a past tense of the one before it
Thanx snowy..... Still searching for the co8/50......
Tea for me Please Miy- weak not milky , no sugar Ta!
at yer service, ma'am...
does anyone know of another site on line that has a babble type game, I am not ready to start being "productive" yet, lol
Got the co8/50 now..... Ta for the clues.....
I can always find things for the hubby to do, but getting him to actually do them, well, lol, and ironing, I have never seen him with an iron in his hand
sorry sheryl =no -there are a couple of quite good word games on MSN - but nothing that compares with this one. Stopped playing everything else now!
Now sewing he will do, all the mending goes to him, but if I want it really fast, I take it to the tailor, lol
Sher, somtimes I'll play word games on east of the web...popword. or eight. It's certainly no babble; but, can be fun.
clue for the co8/50 movieman? Pretty Please!
I play scrabble on line and do crosswords on line, have great sites for them but since I found babble haven't been on them very much
Snowy - here's a definition: To suggest or imply in addition to literal meaning the 8 is the past tense......
gramma is the website popword.com
My Dad could sew really well but mine does do housework & can cook -it's why I've never left him -I'd hate the fact that he can manage perfectly well without me!
*pings bell* tea's up
Sher, it's "east of the web"
lol, my hubby will do housework, if and only when I specifically tell him/ask him to please do whatever. If not he will do nothing, lol
ty gramma will try it out
hi, all.
Lol. Sounds about right Sheryl...
Morning Angelsong 8)
Hiya, angel!!!!!!
Even if he can see that something like... needs to be done... I think he gets confused... like a small animal.
TY movieman Ty Miy! lovelly! Hi Angelsong & Holly Bug
holly are you saying most wives are in the same boat, lol. I don't know how many times we have had the "talk" about how nice it would be for me to come home and he has pushed the vacuum or did the dishes without me asking, lol

Good morning, Angelsong... nice icon :)
lol. Oh goodness... that makes me feel better. I thought mine was like... broken.

lol, holly, a small animal that need to be feed and looked after And to all u husbands out there, no offense, you know who you are
gramma, have you tried googling the definition.....
Angelsong... snowyowl gave a great clue at 7:02 for the pe7 & 8
lol... What I really love... He can watch me work around the apartment ALL day... and like... it doesn't occur to him to ask if I need help. I want to stab him. I probably should not.
no I haven't. I was counting on my fellow babblers
gramma co 8 think a scam artist and add what you might write to a friend, just a short n*** + make it past tense
no you definately should not, you have probalby got him trainied to do some of the things you like and if you stab him you would only have to start fresh with a new one, lol
Sherylr, TY. I cannot believe I couldn't see it at all.
Great clue, Sheryl :)
A block of cheese is quite good to stab when you feel like that Holly! Not that I'd know or anything! LOL
lol. True true. :o)
thanks Sheryl for the co8 clue
ah snowy the block of cheese in lieu of the husband have to remember that one
no prob peri
LOL sheryl!!!! My husband was married before -I always tell him I'm much brighter than him -I'd never do it twice!

to tell the truth I'm not married to this one, living in sin. Got married once, never divorced him because I will not get married again, lol
I wish I could hear mine moving around - I need the shopping!
im in the same situation sheryl...
snowy you send your shopping, I try not to send mine, he always comes home with the weirdest stuff and blows the budget for the week. Then I have to figure out dinner with sardines and feta cheese, lol
Only 80 words? Going to be tough.

he was married before to so he's in no hurry to get married again, told him from the get go that if thats what he wanted/needed I wasn't his girl
We did contemplate living together but I was 22 and too frightened to tell my mother & his - it was easier to get married LOL!!
Hehe. Yes. I do not trust mine to get the right items... so he is not allowed out by himself...
Bear in mind that we met in 1975!
lol snowy, don't get me wrong I am sure marriage is a great thing for some, butttttttttt
rolin, How about mo5/16?
Well were married 29 years last January -so it can't have been that bad really!
gramma...try a tropical fruit with the first vowel swapped to the fourth

rolin, thanks found the co5 and co7
rolin, TY. that's what we called our daughter when she was a baby. The boys would be playing so nicely and she'd teeter over and destroy everything.
pe7 what cheerleaders have a lot of + to4/4, then plural for the 8
pe 7 & 8 1st 3 letters of a mint + quality of sound + plural
well think i will check out the other site that was mentioned. have a great day. Have a feeling tomorrow will be a huge grid, lol we are due

haha...nothing to say to that, is there? huh? huh punk? *cheesy grin* I win :)
LOL rolin -much too lazy for so much excitement now!

hmm..movieman...start with your eo4 insert the 3rd vowel and add a 2 pointed letter
Byr sher ^_^
I've now been firmly put off marriage...I'll get a pig farm instead...less work...less mess... less flatulence...
Oh dear..excuse me..I meant bye
lol...miya...you truly are insightful...
lol, Miya
It's not ALL bad. When we're in bed and my feet are cold... I totally have a place to put them.
Thanx, rolin....
Though I suppose socks would suffice.
I've been taught by the best, Rolin ^^ Holly...I'm not even going to ask...
Need the gi4 & 5 combo now......
gi5 is a character from gremlins

Boo, I'm off...see you all later! And Rolin *raises eyebrows* be seein' YOU on Monday, you ole' flirt...

hm...so it's true what they say about teacher's and whiskey then...:) *poof*
Don't wish too hard Rolin! I did & got 5 in 3 1/2 years!! Gorgeous but very time consuming! there's something to be said for being grey & very old before you become a grandmother! LOL
oh gawd...after mys last comment i darent give you this clue movieman.. but think of a plural without the tonic
I have that one, rolin, so it must be the SECOND gi4/6 that I'm missing.....
oh but snowy...i love babies..its adolescents that drive me spare...
Joe?
ah..ok..then swap a consonant for the second vowel
anyone know how many there are today?
'only' 80 blue
LOL rolin -Well he's home! The exuse -there were no lemons in the whole town (3 supermarkets 1 fruit shop) Are we having a 2nd Shrove Tuesday I didn't know about? Must go - see you later!

Congrats to you too, macuser.....
eo4...a very very very very long time...and then add an ending to that
ty, movieman :)
prana, you can find alot of clues, scroll down the log.

thanks so much gram
I think I just gave the most convoluted clue Ever!! Is there a prize?
Thanks, gramma. No way I could have gotten that w/o your help.
I think there's something wrong w/us, that you got that. I think I've had a stroke or English has become my 2nd language 8)
Good morning, just a few left but any clue on en6/24?

prana to make hay
prana, play the points.
prana..do you have half a te bear?..
prana pl of United Airlines new small airlines
omg... my brain somehow thought that it was a 5-letter word. Thank you all!
Last one so I don't want a real clue but does the first co7/40 work off of the co5/16 before it?
Marc, no, it doesn't. It's a compound word.
I hope that wasn't too much of a clue
you helped me get it prana. thank you.
i dont have a c5/16 ...ack.
5/16- do you like to dance?
err..yes I do. and the plural..am not with it today
here's a clue for the mo7: think of a tropical fruit, then change the first vowel.
5/16 African country and the 7/40 does work off of it as the two letter pl Thanks all I have to go
liana....think Africa
wait, maybe i just thought it was a dance. how about, travel, it's also a place
sandy..thanks..I had it. duh on me..The one i cannot get is the longer version of a long, long time..i have monkey typed my arse off...yuck
try past tense
lian, take off the last letter of eo4 and then add three letters meaning belief
lianakate: the word ends the same as Native Americans.
lian are you working on eo6? Anyway that is the clue I gave you.
yes, mark..I dont know what the heck is wrong with my brain?..still trying..UGH..(indian word)..lol
liana...look very closely at what you just posted...you've written the ending you need for that eo6.
YAY..ty. Mark..i got it with the belief thing, and excluding the s..the s was my problem..
lian eo+contanant meaning long time+ third vowel +constanant+consanant
now that I finally got that word..(thanks to all of you)..i can go on to the other 4,500..(lol, so it seems)
Got to go have a great day and see you tomorrow for more babbling.
I cant believe I have only 12 more to go...generally dont finish a puzzle..i get too frustrated..I MIGHT finish this one..(o happy day)
I love America's Next Top Model
I just need one which escapes me at the moment. en 6/24 ??? I've monkey-typed all around it
Replace the co in co 7/40 with an e.
ExWren: same ending as the co7.
en6/24 en+if you are deaf you use **** language
Did you get it Wren Wren? :o)
I hang my head in shame. I was a Signals Wren, and had to do colours morning and night, raising the en6/24 !! Thank you all
I can go and have a shower now and wash my hair. will look in again later.
and I'm done!
I am done also
you should put easier words in the puzzle but it is fun

Hi Shorty.....what a cutie pie!

the Enable dictionary
aka the "home of random combinations of letters!"
how many words in todays puzzle
80 words
Thanks -- I just looked up Enable: Enhanced North American Baseine LExicon. Unfortunately, it's just a word list, no definitions.
ensign is in the puzzlw
Ensign IS in the puzzle
thx for BLURTING words
ljbs, please don't print actual words
Spellacked, you can get definitions from Dictionary.com
Or from More Words
co8/50 is co4/5 + no5/12
Clue for pe7 ?
where is everybody, am I the only one in?
not the only one; just lost in thought to find a word, or 40
ExWren, I'm here... just busy trying to solve words without looking at clues (yet)
You musst be very clever stidmama, I need all the help I can get
Ohh -- I didn't say I was finding many! Just looking...
pe7: vigor + sound
pe7 - it starts out like the talk given before a big game, but instead of talking it ens with a single musical timbre.......
Hi Brandy, haven't seen you for a while
haven't played much lately. tried that iron sudoku this morning. way too much logic for fuzzy old brain like mine.......
Hi there. I'm new here. I discovered this site last week, and have just signed up for the Pro version. Just wanted to say hello. :)
hi jasmine....welcome!!
hey jasmine
I've got 27 words left to find on today's puzzle. I'm very happy to have found one of the 8 letter words! :)
ExWren - love your black/white ball!!
I can see myself becoming quite addicted to this site. I love word puzzles like this and Scrabble.
Hi jasmine, and a big thank you to (((brandyjack))) who doesn't know me but I love the helping pages you set up!
hi stid, matt, BJ...all!!
one to go!! then i giving up forever!! well i mite have a peep at 2morros grid!
I'm with you there brandyjack, I've tried it a couple of times, but I always run out of options. I know the theory, but can't work it out
Newbie question... when people are asking for or giving out clues and say things like "co7", what does this mean?
Jas - welcome to the club!! Ex & BJ - once you get the hang of Suduko - it's not too bad....those little green numbers are wonderful!!
It means it's a 7 letter word starting with co, and the 32 following it means it's worth 32 points
what green numbers?
Jas - the word starts with co and has 7 letters sometime people will put the point value too eg. zo 5/20
welcome jasmine, what part of the world do you live in? A co4/5 means a word starting with co, it has 5 letters and is worth 5 points
in Sudoku, when you 'select' the number, you can do <shift> click to put a potential "little" number in the grid - one you 'think' it might be (or several it might be)
Cool. Thanks, EasternBlue. I thought it meant something like that. I'm hungry now, so I think I will give this puzzle a break for a while and come back later. Nice to meet you all! :)
bye Jas - catch you later!!
Wren - looks like she's an Aussie!
ExWren - I'm Australian, but I spend most of my time in England at the moment.
you know, there are times when it pays to read the guide. I spent a large chunk of the morning building a spreadsheet that does what those little red and green numbers do.. Aaaaarrrggggggghhhhhhhhh hh!
EB, my grid was full of 'little' numbers!
thanks brandyjack I finally got it; so many uncommon words in babble.
oh, BJ! yikes!! Wren - mine usually is too, until 'something' magically falls into place...
Can someone please tell me where that Sudoko site is that everyone is talking about? Thanks.
don't forget the plural
look at the top right of your current browser for the orange and black icon.....
god - on the right - Dr_God has a icon/link for "Iron Sudoku"...he just put the site up about a week or 2 ago
Top right hand side of the page Iron Soduko
You will have noticed that I hate the game so much, I cannot even spell it!
well, I hear some tea and toast calling my name....
wren - it takes me 3 times retyping to spell it correctly!!
catch you later BJ!!! enjoy the tea & toast (altho' how can you eat something after it's spoken to you is beyond me!!)
only way I know of to shut it up.....
LOL!!!
I'm off for a break, too. Then it's time to check the log for clues... I know when I'm stumped!
bye stid....
Hi exwren, how are you getting on
Greetings
Does the oz7/48 have the same root as the previous oz words?
yes, harpjane
rats
I feel like an idiot. The only word I am missing is OO 4/4. Simple, right? But all comninations I have typed are not valid. Any help out there, so I can start a victory dance?
for oo if you have a wound it might do this. or a pimple.
honk your horn without the h!!
inge - that one stupmed me too, sounds like the noise a car horn makes w/o the first letter. Afternoon all.
I can't stand it! oz7/48?
Yeah! Thank you one and all. I am dancing. Never finished this early. What do I do now???
harp - your oz same start + sounds like it's frozen water....

FMitch... oh, pardon my language!! 8 )
Thanks, Inge!
se 5/14 : se plus first three letters of my name scrambled
what is that?
I've just looked up the def of the mo5/16 and have to share it as it is SO babble, it's a currency BTW. 100 m5/16 = 1 tugrik LOL
Well, that was 2easy. anyone need clus before I go?
chic - just ambling through right now...no rhyme or reason to finding words like I usually do...so i don't know what I'm missing yet! Congrats on finishing!! 8 )
st6/24?
Even Websters Dictionary does not give a definition for se 5/14.
FMitch - everyone knows that 100 mo 5 = 1 turgik, please!! ROFL!!!
ROFL EB
thanx inge. first one i ever finished or likely to!!
short cigars, Harp
st6/24: that cigar from yesterday, followed by its plural.
thanks. i got it right away yesterday, go figure...
se 5 = "In Zaire, a monetary unit introduced in 1967, equal to 100 makuta" according to the Oxford English Dictionary.
so se 5/14 is a word but mosh, goth & zoot are not, so sad. Hi, I'm kinda new too.

co8,50 any help will be greatly apreciated
a toddler takes his first ****
Past tense of co 7/32
bookgurl - the rocks + letter sometimes used as a vowel
st6/24 something you shouldn't throw at glass houses
book- you will kick yrself, un plural the s7 cigars
Thanks, FMitch--I am kicking myself!
LOL don't you hate it when you miss those ones, I know I regularly do.
eo6/21? the earlier clue didn't 'take' for me.
eo 6/21 is kinda of like egotism
harp - I wasn't getting it either...I kept thinking community?? communi on?? LOL!!
eo 6 : beginn with meaning for a long time, then add 3=-letter ending
me too, eb, I thought community, communion, never thought of the ussr.....
we penguins must not know anything about that!!
Good! I finished my first puzzle. No more 199 word puzzles for me!
km- wait until the over 400's pop up!!
400!? It would take me a week!
unfortunately - we only get 24 hours...*sigh*
that last zo is not a word....it's a suffix!
woo hoo! off to grade papers now...
but sometimes the longer ones are easier, since there are lots of plurals, past tenses, etc. Once you get one word, it leads you to fifteen more....
bye bookgrrl!!
not sure how you get 80 from this puzzle... i'm stuck around 50
On my first puzzle, currently at 55 words. Someone mentioned an se5. Is that on the left side or the right?
on the left
llc - the left...
welcome llc, it's on the left.
I've got it as left
travelgirl - do you know about the 2nd letter list?? Look under Babbler's Anonymous (Link is on the right) Then go to General - Stats
go4/6? I have past tense of went, but can't see the other one.
sorry, i don't see babbler's anonymous, nor do i know what "second letter" is
Thanks folks. Still working on it, but at least now I know I'm looking in the right place.
harpjane, try a different past tense of go.
got it! That was my last word. btw shouldn't goest be a word? I go, you go, thou goest?
harpjane: he go** to the pub
travelgirl, babbler's anonymous is near the bottom of the Friends of Babble links on the right.
bah too late..
Travelgirl - under the links called "Friends of Babble" (under the big Iron Sudoku icon) is a link called "Babbler's Anoymous"...if you open a 2nd window, you can then click on the General option & then stats...
Hi Jee!!
I have 16 left to find :( uuh
HI Eastern Blue! How are you doing on the grid today? Doesn't look too bad.
Jee - 12 to go...I'm multi-tasking too, so it's taking a little longer than I thought it would!!
At least this one won't take up the whole day like some of them...Plenty of time to catch up on those weekend tasks....or not....ha!
help for zo 4/9.. I feel like I've tried every 9 pt. combo!
luv - the place where animals are on display + aNother coNsoNeNt

The zo** were the hard ones for me too, finally found a clue I needed WAY back in the log. And that's me, done. Glad it was a small one today, it's lovely gardening weather outside!
phew. got it.
Anyone want help before I wander off?
congrats stid - you're obviously not in Roch. NY where there's a light snow!! 8 )
yes, pe7.36
The best clues for pe 7/36 were that it sounded like a 50's singing group; also that it was pe + the consonant again + "a musical sound" Can't remember who wrote those clues, but they were great.
THNX woo!
done. bye.
bye harp!
Thanks EasternBlue -- no, other side of the continent, near Olympia WA. And one of my peach trees is starting to bloom! I love my garden...
bye harpjane

any 1 wants some clues? I'm done
I still don't have the se5.
I am really stuck on se 5/14
i'm stuck on the co 7s. I have the 2nd 7/40 but not the other 40 or the 32 :s
Matt - fraid not apart from Congrats or fireworks from fellow babblers. "%"%"%"%Fireworks for Matt"%"%"%"%
the dictionary doesnt have anything on it... it ends with an "i"
se5,14 ends with an 'i'
Just got it. Thanks, Matt.
np
co 740 is the plural of co 5/16 and it's an African country
thanks sukee :) never thought of pluralising a country ... :s hehe any clue for the 7/32? :D
co 7/40 means "to imply something"
I mean 7/32
I need help with co 5/12
co 5/12 has a double letter

Can anyone help with pe7/36
pe+the same const.+ musical noise.
stuck on in 7/40... i have the 4/4, 5/14 and 6/24... so it is probably staring me in the face...
luvv add a suffix to the 5/14
ok figured it out... there was a "past tense'" clue somewhere earlier...
Tim, I guess I don't know about musical noise. All I can think of is rap - ha
I used this clue before for pe 7/40...sounds like a50s singing group
A clue for the co 7/32 and co 8/50, please?

hi hursh...thanks pixie
hi, hurshy, done with sudoku?
yes, done with everything
go 5/18 is sticky, messy...
These sure look easy after you get them. I sometimes feel so stupid
I finally need oo4/4
if you got oo5/20, just drop the s.
sukee... did you get oz7/48? I finally found it. It is related to oz5 and oz 6... and is an action... "to _ _ _ _" (brit. spelling)
Ok, just got the oz 7/48. It builds on the 5/20 and the 6/33, it means "to make oz**ated".
Do you have to have the upgraded edition to know how many words can be made and see the clues?
The clue I got for 00 4/4 was : the sound a car horn makes, drop the h.
go kittybat. Ok! Finally done -- my 1st completed puzzle... thx for all te help everyone. have a nice day.

go 5/19 sticky is it?
Woo, hoo... after trying every single combination I finally found it
First time completing the puzzle...gla
KarriD. to get started you call up Babblers Anonymous listed in the upper right hand corner of this page. Call up the general, Stats for today's puzzle. That gives you a list of the first two letters of evry word, the numbre of letters in the word, and the point value.
thanks sukee :) sorry....just saw your answer!
Karri D. Did it work?
Anyone have pe7 & pe8?
Hello everyone :)
pe 8 is pl of pe 7: coach gives the team a ***talk, then add to 4/4
Hi Cybernan, it's very quiet around here.
thanks inge; that pepped me up
thanks inge do you need any?
Thanks for the offer, but I am done. I wish the long puzzles would be on the weekend and the short ones during the week.
eo 6?
congrats Inge! *~*~*fireworks*~*~*
I only have two left- se5 & si6, I bet their something silly that i over looked
There is no si 6 -- two si 4/6's - are you missing one of them?
eo 6: three letters for long time, three letter ending like egot***, communi***, etc.
se 5/14: think of a word (s*****) meaning to burn at the edges, then scramble
my bad ameant si4/6
thanks, Inge -- that's me done too.
si 4/6: stop si** or si** a song.
thanks cyber
Congrats, cybernan.
You still here, Hurshy? --- good afternoon!
hi all
Hi Nat
thanks cyber, im done now! I have been sitting here trying to find si4/6 for 15 minutes and the only reason I didnt try Si** was because I thought i already used it.
yw, luther
hello natalie you look lovely today!
well Im off to play video games, anyone Call of Duty 2 fans here?
got to run -- back at the flip -- good hunting everyone :)
it's "funny" how some words stand out for some of us, and not for others, and how some words just don't a appear obvious atll...oooh my achey head; from beating it on computer when the 'duh' hits me, or when the scrambling of the grey matter goes on...
GIVE ME ANY FUCKING CLUE
s
pe7 = football p** rally + ring to** (pe8 is the plural)
IM GONE
bye luther!
eo 6/21?

En +si4/6
do you have the gi that is the drink, and the one that sounds like guys

any help with the oz7/48 my last one Please
Well done mouseshadow you will now become an addict!!!!!!!!!
try a different suffix on oz5 :)
aha! I got the last gi4, but not the 5
the 7 is like the six, switch the last vowel and move the vowel you switched to the end
beck have you seen grimilins, it's the name of the main grimlin
or a do-hicky, a thing-a-ma-bob
thanks for the kind words - its very friendly here. I'm definitely addicted already. Must turn off computer now, before I cease to exist in the real world. Goodnight all.

co + consonant + pass a **** in class.
To suggest or imply in addition to literal meaning
is that co7/32?
oh wait wrong one... co + same consonant + i think you said what hangs outside a business?
I can't believe I missed that one! I do that with the jewelry and bags that I make!

oz7/48 - somtimes spelled with a zed
hi all! I am stuck on the long pe's
vpchat - the end is the same as the end when you sing with others
vpchat--se 5/14 is one that I had to monkey type, and it is not recognized by the Enable dictionary, so I can't tell you what it means, but I can tell you all the letters it needs are close together

co 5/12 is co 4/5 doubled. I'll trade you for my last one - se 5/14
owl - what ya need?
I haven't upgraded yet, so I don't know
se 5/14... just take the common endING for words and scramble it around a bit.
thanks, gromit. Once I got them, I remembered the plural is a band I saw in Philly a couple of years back...
owl, you can go to Babbler's Anon on the right hand side for that.
co 5/12 driving a ship

Thank you :-) Little sweetheart is a wonderfully sound sleeper. I'll probably try again tomorrow! Goodnight, all!
Hi, is there a link to the Enable dictionary? I'm on my last 7 words

to4/4 is either a sound or the appendages on your feet.
gothaab - think singular
on 4/4 is very common - you'll find them in your wallet

pe 7/36 perky + musical sound
rebekb - like to 4/4, preceded by consonant, second vowel, consonant
rebekb, seriously, my friend sang in a band called "The Pe8/50". Think happy music.

Thanks all. Finished my first one, thanks to many hints toward the end, here....phew. Now for ice cream to celebrate my mental exhaustion. See ya'll tomorrow for more of this madness and obsessive behaviour... {:>)}
i ask again. where do these words come from? i've been a wordsmith and scrabble player for aeons, and i've not heard of many of these
Bye Shadow!
google has never heard of mo6/27
mo5 and 6=think it's a form of currency
si4/4 ?
si 4/4 -- think mathematics.
si4/4 is a trigonometry term
fest should count
eo 6/21?
i agree, whisk
Owl - care to si** for your supper?
Gromit, you went pro since this morning! Hi gang - it's 2 am and I'm so addicted to this game that I had to turn on the computer to get my last 3 words. Had to run off quickly earlier and I've been itching to get back on since!
got the si's thanx
eo6 is related to eo4
interestingly, it's an archaic word for transvestism
any zo clues not do do with the atmosphere?
eonism
and or area
thanks reb
izzy - please don't post words in the log - it's frowned upon
yeah, i know. it was an accident.
two of the zo words -- singular and plural for an animal that makes up a compound animal. Think "place to see animals"
got the zo clue, thanx!
Hey all... how goes the abttle this evening?
the other zo's are a bit odd - sounds like it might be a magazEEn for cart**** (it's not, but it sounds like it)
FIREWORKS for rebekb $@#@#$@!!
any of you run dot coms?
Hi Jera! I was hoping my last 3 words would jump right out at me - they're not, unfortunately
oh stop ;)
oh - now it's suddenly 3am! Happy Daylight Savings Time!
Owl -- what do you mean -- websites?
anyone seen shorty
yes, websites
I have a bookselling website
clues for sn's not to deal with alarm clocks
Owl - the stuff in your nose (ick)
... and heavy petting
one sn = "spooning"
got all the sn's, WOOHOO!
sorry guys I'm new and this is the furthest I have gotten. What happens when you complete the puzzle?
I'm for bed now, goodnight all. see you tomorrow?
i run a dot com selling my music
Owl - no big flashing lights or anything. You just have to know how many words you're looking for. In today's case, 80.
add a dot com to my name to see my tee shirts
i'm a photographer, and have a website... i'm down to three, and they are driving me nuts
Nitey nite, Wren. See you tomorrow for sure!
any hints for mo 6/27?
mo6/27 = alt spelling of mo5, mongolian currency
there's an mo5, mo6 and mo7 that all go together
i need one of the co7/40s , the in7/40, and one other i have no idea what it is...
in7/40 is a form of in 5/14
to 5/14 please?
co7/40 is sort of a plural of an African region
mag - "chic"
to 5/14 "sound"+y
the co7's are a plural of a country and to give over to the care of another; entrust
thank you very much
in 5/14?

ty rebekb!
I'm done! Woo hoo The first one I've finished...probably because it's not so long...
Congrats Laurie, my first too
is there a Oo word - if so hint please
congrats you two !!! ]
i just completed it with a word i was completely guessing with... never heard of it... what is legal? two of those words constitute a country, which should not be legal... so i ask :)
there are three oo's -- one like the owl sound, two like gooey stuff
according to dictionary, in add't to a country also a form of tea, don't know if that is any less a proper noun
thanks
if nothing else, google is just as astounded as i am re some of these words. i can't tell you how often i stump google, and i've done it several times today on this puzzle
This is a very addictive game, even more than scrabble
travelgirl -- www.bartleby.com also a good resource, has a lot of dictionaries
co 7/32 - please
co = not denote
co+"letter" but double consonant for 7/32
Thank you!!!!!
co 7/40 ...antique/curio shops
NO 4/5 is driving me crazy! I've been monkey-typing for 20 mins.!
no + salutation for a single woman
good one renfield -- i love your pic
thanks guigrrl
acronyms count, eh? good to know ...i'm a noob.
Huh? What do I know about single women? I'm a gay male!
think "hey there ____ thang!"
you should have learned salutaions in school no matter what your sexual preference.
no4/5 also plural of a french word meaning "name"
st6/24 - please
st6/24 = cigar I think
the other st 6/24 is like the st 6/18, only with the sometimes vowel in place of the second s
** is usually for lesbians! No really I was only going up, not down so I missed Oscar no**. Which is a better clue... But thanks. :)
pluralize st 6/24 for a 7/36!
Thank you!
no prob
mo 4/5 ...rise above
si4/4 not the homonyn for sign
only one si4/4
Yikes!
bye for now. Thanks everyone for the help in finishing!
I'm stumped on MO 6/27 and In 7/40. No amount of monkey-typing is helping!
in 7/40 is past tense of 5/14 mo 6/27 add an e to word above (5/16)
INGE! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Was so stumped on those 2! Mad about mo! It was right in front of me & i tried every variation! I'm done!
past tense of which 5/14?
past tense of in 5/14 of course
thank you.
Congratulations to MarqueeMarc!!!!
hey... I'm looking for the my second st 6/28 ... not 'rock' related
good grief that was so wrong! I meant... my second st 6/18
I shouldn't post from bed st 6/24
Yay! 80 words, 1257 pts, hope that does it....First time I've finished! And before 7:30 my time....Cool!
Stoner -- hm...is that a literal username? ;)
Guigrrl---Not anymore...........Ahhh...those were the days!
:) LOL -- the past is a good place :)
Woodchick---st6/24...think smelly cigar...rhymes w/ cartoon character Boo-Boo's best friend.
I've got that one...it looks like there's another?
Woodchick---sorry...st6/24--th ese kinds of fields are hard to plow...
Duh! Thank you :)
I suppose I could have said my name with a different last letter.
By the way...Fireworks?
nope. I've got 8 more
anyone have the st 7/36?
St7/36 ....page down to 8:22
thanks stoner :)
i didn't have the plural (whoops)
so what's a "good" score for a day?
st 7/36 if you get this you be smokin'
oh come on it doesn't know zoot??
a good score - the amount of points varies from day to day bc there are different numbers of words - many people get all the words
But it takes a suffix like zo4/9...
I know I'm a little late, but is there a theme today?
any other clues for mo 6/27 ...help!
any clues for the oz words?
Anyone have a hint for gi5/16? oz7/48??
Fireworks for Stoner... Way to go! --**F**I**R**E**W**O**R** K**S**--
oz words all have to do with that hole in the layer above the south pole...
gi 5/16 is sort of a British spelling for a word meaning "gadget"
thanks stidmama!
oz 7/48 ...this one has to do with the atmosphere as well - i don't see it.
Angela, I think the theme for today was "black and white ball" some folks had penguins, and there were a couple soccer balls this morning...
...any other hints, perchance?
Thanks stid - I'm not staying long, just curious... What about tomorrow?
activists are concerned about oz*** and other stuff
brazen -- think of what you would add to any word when you want to change something into it. Again, a British spelling
Phew! Finally finished! This is my first completed puzzle!
Angela, I just popped back on after being gone all day, not sure if anyone said what the theme would be. I hope I can afford to go "pro" soon so I can have fun with icons :-)
way to go woodchick!
YAY!!! (((woodchick))) **F**I**R**E* *W**O**R**K**S**
Thanks!! I'm happy to have finished...even if it was a short list today! Now I'm off for some shuteye!
It definitely makes it more fun to do the icons. I went pro about 6-8 months ago but just recently started changing them.
I started playing last week & went pro today...this addiction finally got to me; now I'm gonna have to govind a 'ba' and see if they have 12 steps
for oz 7/48 - a british variant thereof? ...i still don't see it ...argh.
DONE! Second time finishing, but first time without help from the Mrs. That oz7/48 was darn tricky. This is too much fun. Thanks everybody for all your hints and I'll be here for the next one (only 3 hours away)!
Way to go TommyShag... **C**E**L**E**B* *R**A**T**E**
It is VERY addicting...which explains why I signed in for only a few just to see how many I could get before I pass out! All but 21 but I'm fading fast...
Some of these were SO obvious...but not after staring at them for the day...hope tomorrow is another finisher
**F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S** for all who finished today!!!!!
brazen -- the last part of the last oz sounds like the things you use to see with... ends in the second vowel...
renfield did you complete?
thanks again stid ...i'm looking.
yes guigrrl about 1:30 am this morning....
GOT IT!!! it was indeed a 'british variant'.
I was glad today was a short puzzle. I got some yardwork done, spent time with my mother, and still took a nap! Always a successful day when I can get in a nap...
Man...only 48 words so far. Though I guess not too bad for what is really my first time here. I'd like to know what all I'm looking for, which means I guess I'll have to upgrade. :)
grats ren :)
thanks guigrrl...are you finished?
knee -- follow the Babbler's anonymous link in the box of "Friends of Babble" There is a list of how many words, the total points available and a couple more lists that tell you how each word starts. Not as easy as the pro window, but nice as a help. And AngelSong's Babble Page is my other favorite at the moment.
not yet -- just started a few hrs ago -- sleeepy (east cost USA) so i probably won't today. curious -- film noir fan? (pic is very dramatic -- film noir style)
good for you stidmama -what part of the globe are you located?
Hi Everyone -- just poking my nose in to say that I am here and just starting the hunt :) A small one today - but is it very tricky or is it friendly?
RENNNNNNYYYYYY!!!!!

can somebody help me with the in's? any of them?
me too guigrrl - watching a 40's nick carter right now
black and white ball
GW -- glad Seb is comfy and resting -- enjoy your break :) sorry you didn't get to read tonight :(
in 5 = gold bar
oops, sorry guigrrl, didn't mean to misspell your name -- I must still be a little tired from the last few days :D
LOL guigrrl! i'm trying to inspire myself to think!
in 6/24 = in 5 plural in 7 = in 5 past tense
GW -- no problem - believe me :) and i understand the lack of sleep :) get some tonight! smaller -- :) i love it!
thanks!
y/w
renny, it's a verb? since when? sheesh! babble is so humbling
i know smaller...i really in 7/40 last night!!!! (really)
Fest isn't a word????
mo 6/27 ...anyone got a clue? i'm paying for assistance with good karma ;-)
of course smaller - you must wear your gold lame'
stubie, i understand your pain. it happens all the time.
mo 5/16 + 2nd vowel
renny, ohhhhhh, oopsy it's at the cleaners. dern the luck that i couldn't have in7 with ya!
searching...
brazen, hey i see that a lot on my cell phone!
no cell towers where i live
story of my life ;-)
are you serious smaller
LOL smaller
brazen....it's a currency of a country located between china and ussr.....also a big character in blazing saddles played by alex karras
Sorry I disappeared there -- the first child is finally getting over a week-long bout of "whatever" and now the other one has it. Luckily, they are old enough (11 and 13) they can say what's wrong!
guigrrl, LOL! Oh yes! I drive 35 miles to work everyday and i finally have cell service about 20 miles from here. LOVE rural. (please note tone when reading)
Aw c'mon -- Zots isn't a word?! But it's sounds so cool!!!!
renny ROFL!!!
smaller said a word
smaller -- rural MUST have its good points :)
GW <<<HUGS>>> LOL
ren ...thanks. i thought of that, but thought 'nawww' couldn't be THAT easy
Hey smaller -- "stidmama" is my logon in lots of places (yahoo, google, etc) A combination of our last name and my permanent job title. Ren, I live on the West Coast of the U.S. near the capitol of Washington state. We also don't get reliable cell phone service at home...
LOL brazen....
brazen -- you learn quickly in this game -- if it might even possibly show the slightest signs that it may be thinking about being a word, it probably is! ;D
stdmama - we had beautiful gardening weather today as well
sing-song-copy-cat voice, *smaller said a word*
mo 6/27 comes up with no def. in dictionary (dot) com ...odd.
renny, you're just brown-nosing dr. god
haha haha haha - smaller :-P
renfield are you in so. cal? god you guys have beautiful weather (and people) on the west coast!
no guigrrl - i'm in texas along the gulf coast smaller double :-P
LOL Stidmama!!! it's amazing how many times that job title can be said in a minute, isn't it?!!
anyone have a (even partial) def. for mo 6/27 or 7/40 ?
renfield -- LOL been there...done that :) i grew up in new orleans and travelled to tx a bit :)
got the word, just can't figure out what it means.
gui -- I grew up many years in the Tidewater region of Virginia (paternal unit was military). I loved the changing seasons of the other coast, and the warm waters... can't stand the waters off the west coast!
or is it a variant of mo 5/16 somehow?
add an e to mo 5/16, then pluralize it. Not sure why anyone would want to do that, but it works!
nice stidmama-- i'm in nc now :) east coast is nice :)
brazen, as in my post to stubie at 9:20, I understand your pain. It happens all the time.
perhaps it's esperanto ...or klingon.
not enough hard consonants to be Klingon :D
brazen, do you know that if you click on the question mark to the left of a word it brings up a dictionary page with the definitions (usually)?
esperanto it is then.
stid - yep, thanks tho. this one comes up a blank.
klingon, what about klingon? there's no word for jolly, so don't go looking for one.
I thought of Blazing Saddles for mo 5/16, etc
well fiddlesticks! gotta go! happy babbling!
bye smaller - see you later
g'night smaller!
me too shadow
(*smaller*) -- G'nite :)
me three, Shadow :) Congrats on going pro, as well, Shadow :)
ren - how is mez?
now, that movie will forever be etched with today's word list; not sure that's good or not
shadow and i were caught in a time warp at the flip last night......the transporter caught us mid flip
It's a great movie -- so it must be a good thing ;)
GreyWoulf: it only seemed logical, and a small price for my addiction. The bottles of Scotch, however, will be another matter as I continue to play
to5/14, please:)
good wolf....he had a ruff time thurs & fri, but better today..
LOL, Shadow :D
shadow -- what kind? glenlivet for me :)
that's hedley....
to 5/14 a 1920's/30's term for looking good
to 5/14 is like to 5/10 only with the last letter changed out for the sometimes vowel. I think it means high-falutin'
a girl after my own heart...both glenlivet & glenfiddich for me, though I can be encouraged to sample all of the other single malts from time to time
I think Thurs and Fri were rough days all around, ren -- thur night was when Seb wouldn't let me get more than 3 hrs sleep -- glad to hear he is doing better (*Hug*)
I got it, thanks:) y'all are spiffy
sorry about your loss of sleep wolf......hope you get some rest this weekend.
Shadow and guigrrl -- I applaud your taste in Scotch :) Next question is -- how old? I prefer it old enough to vote, personally :)
Hi GreyWoulf
Hi Berta :)
shadow ...you should try brichladdich single. good stuff.
GW -- at LEAST 22 :)
logically, the more mature, the better. But anything will do in a 'pinch'; but minimu of 12 year old stuff, and 18 is preferred; it just depends on what's on hand, and who is 'buying'...
I'm going to go see what movie the rest of the family is watching... see you-all after the flip!
bruichladdich, sorry.
I am just trying this out. I see that you are on.
is brichladdich available in the US?
You do know who I am don't ya
believe so ...tho not through direct import. meaning you can't web-order.
Berta -- just sing out if you have any questions -- we'll help as best we can :)
Berta -- how could I not? :D
bruichladdich.com - check it out.
hey berta
why is the message board at the bottom of the screen.
I will; it will be my next research project; probably next weekend
Hey renfield how are you
i have 2 left -- any clues on the to 5/14?
to 4/4 + sometimes vowel
nm!

guigrrl -- here let me do that for you :) *pats on back, then gives ((**Hug**)) of congratulations* :D
my feet are soooo cold.
Why are your feet cold, HollyBug?
or the Match Game answer -- How cold are they?
hey holly!!!! did you study this week?
Woulf tell me how can I bring the message board closer. To the playing screen.
good eveing everyone! I'm new and I need help!
hey guarana (like the herb?)
there are 17 I still need and am stumped.... zo 4/9 and zo5/20. I have the words associated with area.
Berta -- no way to move the message screen -- but if you hit the jump down button at the top of the chat log -- it will pop you down to the board and then jump up to come back
yeah, like the herb
Can anyone tell me how many words are suppose to be in here?
Zo4/9 - Move from one .... to another in a MMORPG. zo5 - Passed tense
What I usually do is have multiple windows open so I can hunt in one and track the log in the other :)
zo is one of the ones
80 words today
Sorry, zo5 is not passed tense.
pe7 and pe8 are pretty cryptic
Berta - click on the Babblers Anonymous link in the Friends of Babble box to the right -- then click on the General Topic, then on Daily stats and you will get a breakdown of the word in today's grid :)
g'nite all; see y'all tomorrow sometime
nite shadow
rennie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
brb....have to let the puppsters out
Later, Shadow -- glad to have met you --- sleep well (*hug*) --I am an equal opportunity hugger ;D

Hi GW. How's what? Still negotiating the due date (keeps getting pushed up). Now it is looking like the first of August-about the 5th...who knows?!? :)
kay ren, check your yahoo, i was typing your address from memory.
Any help with the 2 words for the bottom P?
I meant -- how tricks? I have been having serious keyboard dyslexia the past few days ;D
And re:due date -- there is only one person who truly knows and he/she aint telling until the last minute! - LOL
I'm still not getting two of the zo words... there are four total, right? I have the two that are like the signs: No Passing Zo**(+plural). Any other clues? pretty please?
So... Here's a question... do the husbands/wives also babble? I tried to talk Joe into it... but he looked and looked and found two words... so I'm not sure he'll ever be a die hard.
Gotta go for right now -- will be back for my last 20 in a little bit :) (would be done by now, but having too much fun chatting!)
kooooollllll nut!!!! i love your photos!!!!
GW-Gotcha, things are good and yes, that is my attitude about the whole thing. I've got nothing else going on at the point so I'm just flexing with the whole Dr/due date drama...it will be when it is.
Guarana - the other z rhymes with moon (and the plural)
see you in a bit GW
rolotom- what do you mean by bottom p? I have all the p-words, so I might be able to help.
thanks ren, hubby nut has the red hair.
but i'll probably never be in them. i'm the only one who ever takes pictures.
zo 4 = zo 4 /9 that you have - last vowel then insert 4th vowel after 1st vowel then make it plural
oh, thank you MAMA BEAR! I had no idea that was a words, but surprised I didn't try..
HollyBug - no babble hubby here!
holly, my husband will babble with me at times...he actually finds lots of words but then when I'm scrolling up and down trying to chat with friends, he gets annoyed. Sometimes if I'm tired but still want to finish, he'll finish for me too. Good guy he is but babble is still more my thing.
your welcome!
sweet nut!!! i'll try to get my kodak gallery back up. i love your kitkat and pupster!!
Thanks Guarana. I have seven P words but am missing two. The stats claim they are from the P in the bottom row. Am new at this. I know I am missing one each of 5, 7, and 8 letter words. How can I ask without giving away the words I have found?
rolotom - do you have the pe 7 and pe 8 words?
oooh. I love pet pictures.
the pe 7 is pe* (meaning energy ) + on your cell phone you have a ring t****...... and the 8 is a plural
I have more picture of my cats than I care to admit.
No, I don't. Any clues? Thanks very much.
thanks ren, i luv my kit kat and pupster too - it's actually two kit kats, but no one can tell them apart but me. and i just realized that i DO have on pic of me and my mom. i'm so excited. a picture of me!
me too holly...i love pet pictures!!
rolotom - see my post at 10:22 for clue
me three - they are replacing children after all!
way to many pet pictures than I care to mention in my house too!
Hehe. Joe actually wrote up, printed out, and made me sign a "contract" promising to not get anymore animals... I would take them all in if I could... They all have such unique personalities.
Thanks Mamabear! Got them!
Any hints on the eo 6/ 21?
you're welcome, rolotom!
i bring in no more pets, it would screw up the ones i have.
and ren, get your gallery back up, i wanna see some pics.
Do links work here? Like to be posted?
Is there an Oz/7????
yes
ok - i will...prob not tonight....i have a gazillion pix of my cats and dogs..my yard & trees...
How about a clue for the Oz7
Anyone have a hint for no5/10? I am stumped.
http://portfolio.iu.edu/hhinkh ou/Pets/bigcat.jpg
oh and Shorty is here too. Hiya shorty!
well, if it doesn't work.. then it doesn't.
oz7... it's related to the oz5 and 6, except with a british ending
http://portfolio.iu.edu/hhinkh ou/Pets/p5240080.jpg
http://portfolio.iu.edu/hhinkh ou/Pets/figaro.jpg
ren, i remember taking pictures of the field where we built our house. people made fun of all the pics i took of it, but i wanted to remember what it looked like before we invaded it.
OKay. That's totally all. :o)
no5/10.. it's like a sound. or the thing on the front of your face with an extra vowel
nut - and trees we've planted..trees struck by lightening...food we've cooked....yada yada yada memories!!!
ok holly - i see the big gray cat - is that a russian blue?
food we've cooked? how does that impact your yard? WHAT have you been cooking ren?
Hehe. He's just a grey tabby... His name is actually Demon... but we've taken to calling him Big Cat... because he's... big.
ok holly - i see the white and red cat - his he a turkish angora? how big is the gray cat?
He was a "found" cat. He was on the tennis court and he mewed at me. So I brought him home. :o)
nut - we cook out on an open fire....
Hello! I have 1243 points, am missing one word, s 5. Can anyone help me finish please?
That's Mikey... He's my needy kitty. He wants to be in the middle of everything you're doing. When Joe and I watch tv on the couch... he sits between us and watches too.
I have the pe8, could someone give me a clue for the other 8? And my, having bable pro is fun! :-)
Big Cat probably weighs... 20 ish lbs.
rolo - se 5 is an anagram of ythe word used to describe to burn slightly
um...holly...is "big" really the word you're looking for? :)
mikey - similar to my chockie, or hubbynut's chockie. he is quite jealous of me, wants to be first in the hubbynuts affections.
Sleeky, it's the past tense of 7/32.
HELP I CANNOT get in/5,6,+7 cansomeone please help I am not seeing it
lol. He's just a lil chubby. Shh. You'll hurt his feelings. :oP
Guarana - the Oz/7 is still a dah for me - any other hints?
wow!!! 20 #'s...we had a maincoon that weighed 19 #'s now i see the tuxedo cat in a box...my tuxedo maine coon likes to get in boxes and eat them
shorty in 5 = gold bar, in 6 = is in/5 plural, and in 7 is the same in 5 gold bar made past tense
Finally finished this one! Goodnight all!
Tux Cat... is Figs. Figaro. He is VERY VERY vocal... and when he wants food... he cries and cries... not that he's ever starving... They are just little pig like cats.
Thanks renfield! First complete finish for me! Very exciting.
They love boxes... though... any paper product seems to suffice. They once fought over who got to lay on a bit of paper towel that had fallen on the floor.
**F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S** for rolotom!!!!!
magbag- hope this isn't too much of a clue, but for british endings, here's an example: realize, realise
So yes. Now I'm totally up for other people's animal pictures... now that I've gotten to talk about my babies. :o)
**F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S** for kneestabber
ren, only maincoon i've ever know was a real bi 5/#
still have seven to go!!! clues for the go4/6 and go5/18 (have go4/6 that is a variation of the verb)
opps.. forgot the question mark in my haste
hollybug - couldn't get to your pics?
? guarana - go 5/18 is really sticky (go + 2 more vowels + sometimes vowel)
ha! thank you.. now have all the go's :)
Hrmm. I don't know how to make it better. That's my school site... http://portfolio.iu.edu/hhinkh ou/Pets/figaro.jpg
Thanks Guarana
nut - i had to type the address' in to see the pics. my tux maine coon puts me to bed everynight and sleeps under my chin
I don't have them up anywhere else... I don't believe.
oh, yay, magbag. glad you got it. that was a really hard one for me
Lol. Are your cats social? Or are they more "cat like"?
ty ren I FINALLY got it
oh my gosh, under you chin Ren? How do you sleep?
Big Cat is my "cat like" cat... he likes to perch up as high as he can and look down on people like he's superior... (which clearly he is)... but he also loves to lay in bed with Joe and I and coo...
holly, one of mine is sitting on my keyboard under my hands as I speak (type)
kris - i have trouble sleeping as it is...but when he tucks his head under my chin - i go right to sleep. my other cat thinks i'm her kitten and bathes my head....she likes my hair...
He also has a thing for electronics. If your cell phone rings... he wants to be your very best friend and sit on you. Even strangers.
ok shorty!!!
I have one of those, Kris. Hehe.
ren, we have a hair obsesed cat too--we say it is the shampoo we use but who knows...such strange and fun little creatures! (good thing GW is not here since he has that undying love for cats!) :)
en6/24?
okay, the stinkerbug is like a real cat. he loves me and disappears at the first sign of anyone not me. chockie is a lover. he'll go after anyone for attention and loves to groom hubby nuts goatie. no one sleeps with me cause i toss and turn too much.
refresh for my tux maine coon
You know what I love? When they are smelling things... and they like... forget to close their mouths. That's the greatest thing ever. lol.
And who says I am not here, kristi ;) Man, but I do love serendipity :D
does the puzzle close in 10 minutes, or one hour 10 minutes?
1 hour and 10
hollybug - my dog is the opposite about phones. if you let them ring, he howls. sometimes we don't answer the phone just so we can hear him going at it.
awwww! What a perfect little face! :o)
guarana - en6/24 = A commissioned rank in the U.S. Navy or Coast Guard that is below lieutenant junior grade. or like en**** pulver en + si 4/6
ah, we've been caught! cats, what cats?
en 6/24 Wesley Crusher
pfeww.... I thought I was runnig out of time... certianly I can get four words in over an hour, right? :)
Tomorrow should be cat face day. :o)
G-absolutely!
yes guarana - go - go - go
kristi -- I have 3 cats of my own -- Twitch is the momma and when she was younger, was so bonded to me that she would come when I called her :)
ren - such a sweet looking cat! holly, you're totally right about the sniffing thing.
oh, that you sonipitts. Yay Wesley!
okay, then who is it that hates cats? Torgone?
Refresh for a tortured Mikey!
wolf - we whistle for our cats...of course we whistle for each other when we're lost in the store as well....
ren -- he is gorgeous! And as for sleeping arrangements -- all three of mine fight to be next to me on the bed -- many is the mornign I have woken up cos I can't move with one at my head, one curled next to my belly and the last behind my knees!
Figaro is the one that's the worst about the sniffing. His mouth will be like... totally open.
GW-We were all here chatting about cats one day and someone (a male...few of those around here) was jokingly giving us a really bad time...thought it was you but clearly not! It was actually really funny b/c they really didn't like cats
co 7/32 and 8/50?
aww. I want to whistle and make Joe come to me. hehe. You've trained yours well, Ren.
LOL wolf!!!! holly...oh - he has a seet face as well!!!
can we spell sweet?????
chockie comes when you call his name...but like it said, he's desperate for attention.
lol. Isn't that the nicest feeling...? They come trotting for the door when you come in... and you know you're missed.
soni - co 7 = to suggest or imply or co* (slang for prisoner) + no 4/4 co 8 - make it plural
okay holly, that trotting to the door thing only applies to my dog.
LOL nut!!!
okay. My cats run to the door when I get home. Joe was making fun of me today because I was talking to them while planting my flowers.
OK -- I don't have any close ups of my cats, but here is one of Twitch that let's you see her most distinctive marking -- she has a flag on her tail instead of a white tip :)
gracias, ren
i remember that kris...but i don;t remember who it was,,,,,
aww. Another tuxy cat. :o)
<3 the tail!
Actually, just a magpie -- she doesn't have the proper bowtie and gloves
sweet wolf!!!! i see the tail!!
eo 6/21?
Well. She is lovely. :o) And! I'm off to bed. Goodnight All! Happy Cat Talk and Babbling!
nite holly - thanks for sharing!!!
G'nite HB -- have happy kitty dreams! :)
holly - night gw - adorable!
Hello, Any help with st 7/ 36, oz 6/ 33 & pe 7/ 36 pls? Thanks, Paki
eo 6 = transvest*** - or eo + consonant + singular for are + repeat the same consonant
sonipitts- it's like eo4/4, but with a suffix
hi!
st 7/35 = short cigars plural for st 6/24
hi angel!!!!!
---------- angel --------------
Hey Angel!
off to sacrifice wood to the heater.
Hey, anyone know when faeriekae will be back? She has a surprise waiting for her...
oz 7 = oz 5 + the singular for are inserted before the last vowel
got it! thanks.
ok nut...se you later - and thanks for the pics!!!!! (we have the ac on)
ok soni!!!!!
And Done!! -- Definitely a pleasant grid today :)
gj there Grey
**F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S** for the wolf!!!! hey where is mrp?????
congrats GW! Later Nut! Refresh for one of my two cats--took me a while to get it loaded (had to awaken my husband from a long day couch-napping stupor)
Am going to fall asleep soon, and am still missing one word: no4/4. I have the french word (plural for name) and the word that means a short letter or reminder.
Guar -- plural of negative answer
guarana: Not yeses.
oh and hi Angel. So much happens while you're away!
oh kris - sleepy face!!!!
gi 5/16?
so I see, Kristin. I've been off making pages.
Ren...yes sleepy or grumpy (his two dispositions) His sister is all black and would not serve well as an icon...such is life!
a gi5/16 is a whatchamacallit or a doohickey
d'oh, Angelsong.. that was so easy! Thank you! I'm done! First attempt and probably final win. I took me a few hours, and it looks like this was a short puzzle. :(
Angel, I was basically saying (very unclearly) that you arrived while I was out changing my icon (so as to excuse my late welcome of you). Sounds like a busy time with all your pages!
gi 5 = is a thing a ma jig....gi + snakey consonant + abbreviation sor state of missouri
Guarana, it is very short, by usual measures. Good job finishing!
Guar -- it gets easier with time --- you will be surprised at how quickly you get to recognise the odd words over the ordinary in the grid :)
d'oh! I always thought that was spelled with a 'z'!
sorry GreyWoulf- I meant to thank you too. My eyes are too tired
And -- Yayyyy for Guarana!!!!!!
**F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S** for guarana
kristin, it's fun, and I'm learning a lot as I work on them.
Yeah Guar!
wolf - sis you dee marblowesr7???
soni -- those variant spellings will get you everytime! ;) In this game, knowing British spelling variations will come in handy :)
or is that did you see......
hey Ren: I have a question....
woot! :) thank you everyone
hey mark - how's the music biz in texas treating you?
ok angel.....
sorry -- got caught in a thread :) Hi mark!! and thanks :)
I have a feeling that I'll be upgrading soon (next paycheck!)
do you think Faeriekae will be upset with me? I made a Resource page for her, even though she didn't ask for one....I don't want to upset her...
well, Ren, been more concerned with getting a job...now that seems to have worked itself out i can concentrate more on music
Good evening, again, my spouse is playing now (((stidhat))) -- we'll see how many he can get in 38 minutes! Darling, this is your formal introduction to everyone, say howdy.
hey Grey, how r things?
Hi
halo to the stid family! :)
angel....i think it's a very great honor to have you spend your time making personalized pages for individuals. i'm sure she will enjoy the baruch (blessing)!!!
I may need to put babble and ironsudoku on my blocked list. I come to these sites too often.
thanks to the short puzzle I'm the closest I've ever been to finishing! 9 left. My brain is short circuiting on the pe7 & 8. Any hints? Are they related to anything previous?
hey stidhat!!
stidhat mutters hello from his corner of the room, where he is frantically typing away...
Hello kristinc, no time to talk, gotta find like 80 more words! aah
type on Stids-still finishing here too!
lol, stidhat....
the pe 7 & 8 are not related pe 7 = pe* rally or pe* talk + ring to 4/4 then make it plural
mark -- things are going pretty good for me -- the new job is looking good for being taken on permanantly and the family are all healthy. I am looking forward to the day I get to tell Lenscrafter's that I don't need them anymore though.
i got it! the second i ask for help, sheesh. it's sort of like the sound of a cheerleader's voice ;)
Ren and Grey, i have begun tinkering with some melodies... CD #2 is a definite possibility this year!
pe 7 & 8 are not related to other words...i didn;t finish my thought
good news mark!!! austin city limits????
well, i just finished my first week at my new job (long-term temp, hope to go full-time) at MICROSOFT!
way to go mark!
Ren, i'd love to play in Austin...it's only like 5 or 6 hrs from here...we'll have to see
That's great, mark!!! --- CD #1 is on my to get once I am hired on permanantly list. I haven't added to my music library in awhile so I think I am due :)
congrats on the new job, Mark, we know several people who work at Microsoft in Redmond, WA (and a couple who retired at embarassingly young ages) -- but our job paths led to less lucrative and less time-consuming employment...
of course, CD #2 would be easier to do if more of CD #1 were to be sold...(yes, that is a hint)... :)
mark -- Let's make a deal -- you send me good vibes to be taken on perm and I will do the same for you ;)
no 4/4, but not the short message one
lol, Grey! i concur. absolutely. i definitely want to go full-time with them, and i'm sure u wanna go full-time at your place....
no 4/4 should be as plain as the no** on your face, but with a typo...
Hey, Mark......I live in Austin!
Thanks! How about oz 7/48?
well Angel, i don't mind playing for u and Ren, but i would like to be able to pay for the trip down....concerts, etc will be easier to schedule once the job thing is firmed up
oz 7/48 when you get what we have in our atmosphere in a can and you spray it. usually you'd think it's spelled with a z.
GW, I'm adding my own good vibes to Mark's for you.
soni - oz 7 = if you have oz 5 insert the singular of are (or the 3rd vowel + snakey consonant) before the last vowel
eo 6/21?
well, i gotta head to bed...i play at my church, so my fingers need their sleep...
eo6: a very long time + a suffix for a belief system.
Thanks to one and all! First fully completed grid evah! *snoopy dance*
nite mark - see you another day...
yaaaay i finished my first puzzle! i just started playing this week. what a nice saturday night gift. now i can go back to sewing something cute for my baby girl.
okay, finished and a big day ahead tomorrow so I'm calling it a nite. Good luck to all who are still working of the puzzle and our job seekers too!
Thank you, Angel --- the more, the happier
**F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S** for sonipitts!!!!
Sleep well, kristi -- have a great day tomorrow!! ((**Hug**))

Thank you, angelsong. BTW, love the DAL pic. We have a 13 year old DAL, named Dexter.
ooooooo...I love fireworks!

Yayyy for soni!!!! Yayyyy for momerath!!!!!! (do you get to outgrabe now?)
soni - mrp started the fire works...i'm just filling in until she shows up......;-)
**F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S** for momerath66 the semstress!!!!!
G'nite mark -- keep us updated!... about everything :) (*Hug for luck*)
g'night to those who are heading out, congrats to soni and momerath... and kristinc!
how's stidhat doing, stidmama? I ask you so he doesn't have to stop typing :) And welcome to you both!!
I feel so hyped, I'm gonna stay up and get a start on the next one. Besides, there might be more fireworks.
co7/32 +mo6/27 please and then I'm done
He's halfway, sounding discouraged. I am thinking of giving him some clues from the sidelines...
mo6 -- drop the last letter of the mo7
ty GW
co 7/32 = indicate or suggest
ty ty I am done
co 7/32 = co 8/50 minus a letter
stidhat -- no need for frustration -- there is always tomorrows grid -- that is the best part about BAbble!! :) Besides -- halfway in so short a time is a great achievement!!
g'nite all and ty for the clues
**F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S** for shorty!!!!!!!!
Yayyyyy for shorty!!!! brb -- have to fetch laundry from across the hall
nite shorty!!!
ty ren
nite ren + Gw and anybody else
Dream deep shorty :) (*Hug*)
I'm going to tuck in the younger one -- back before the flip (I hope)
do the new Babblers know about Resources? If not, check out the link for Angelsong's Babble page to the right, under Friends of Babble :) and welcome to Babbleonia.
Good evening, everyone :)
gw -- how's Seb and the rest of the family?
hi nan
nan - i think he went to get his laundry. he said he would be right back.
ok - thanks, ren
be right back -- have to refill my glass!
Well, I guess my honey isn't going to finish... he followed the link to Sudoku! I won't see him for hours! [sob!] That's the trouble when one of us is a words person and the other is a math person...
