fliperoo!
darnit, guess that means you win, huh?
here, have some chocolate and cookies and ice cream... :-)
my clock says there are NaN+ hours left before the puzzle closes... :-D
hmmm....
212 today... i think i might skip it. or at least wait until morning to decide. night, mama (and lurkers)
good night LeslieAnn! sweet dreams!
stidmama hi a question ...
hi jeffer! quest away.
why do people skip grids ?
I think there are two reasons, one is (as you may have noticed) it is really hard to not finish once you started; the other is that your total points depend on how well you do on the grids attempted.
the most points you can get for a grid is 1000, plus the number of grids you have completed. If you look at the player rankings, you will see how this works.
hello again... looking at another night of fussy baby, whee!!
oh ok and how do they know so quickly how many words?
So, if a grid looks like it's bigger than you have time or energy, then you can keep your average higher by not attempting it.
knutmeg! xxxxxbabyxxxxx
ok that makes sense
the stats panel figures it out and posts it pretty quickly. I only just learned that sometimes you have to hit refresh a few times before it registers, though.
oh ok one more question ...
somehow I managed to get 42 words already...
yes?
woo! gotta love a grid with bodily secretion and body part gutter humor.
hello, Stidmama!! Liv screams her hello, too:-)
be 7/44
knutmeg -- it is possible she's teething already? Matthew cut two teeth at 7 weeks...
not working..why..erros on page anyone else!!!
at three weeks???
devilgirl, try refreshing your page. There are a lot of "hits" on the server this time of day, and sometimes things just bog down.
oh, right. three weeks would be a bit early (i get all the babies' ages mixed up... who has the 2 month old? Woulf?)
considering how much she'seating I'm voting growth spurt
knutmeg, a friend of mine had a baby with 2 teeth at birth! That's not normal though. Obviously.
yes, that would make sense, too. also, colic sometimes shows up this age -- does she seem gassy but not able to get it out?
jeffer -- still waiting for the next query ;-)
no problems expressing gas :-) in all it's forms
there's an American-made truck in the grid!
well, that's good. hugs and nursies, then, and know that when she does grow she'll sleep a lot more!
you promise?? :-) 5 hours of sleep since Sunday morn :-(
yes, i promise. and it works at least up until age 13... when the kids are getting ready for a growth spurt, they eat and eat and are restless. when they stop eating, they sleep and grow~ some days they wake up and the whole shape of the face has changed!
i was going to say why is the sky blue? (seemed funny at the time)
I will love you if she starts sleeping lots after this restlessness ends :-)
oh the sky is blue because I wish it to be so, and in my special happy place the sky is always blue when I am awake, the breezes are always gentle and there is no land-based mollusc to eat my plants!
R 7/36
hello chic!
whoa! I am at 58 words already!
oh
mama - sounds like AZ = come on down... about 70 outside right now!
Woot!! Sleeping baby for the next 15 minutes at least!! lets see how many words I can get in before she wakes up...
44 for me!
Hi stid! 64 for me.
pthomp, so jealous. I'm in oregon. raining. ugh, can't wait for summer.
we had no rain for 4 mo. waiting for forest fires this summer
but -- isn't AZ a desert? with snakes and scorpions and gila monsters? besides, if I went someplace dry, my gills would shrivel up!
wow chic! doin' good!
i guess every place has its ups and downs. i used to live in palm springs, so i have been in two extremes
yes, at least this year the fire season in the Pac NW will be short and hopefully not too bad. It's rained enough for a change!
no stid , your bones dry out and feel great...Endless summer in AZ yay!
yes a desetm but that doesn't mean NO rain. the pests leave you alone if you don't bother them
we have to put up with a lot of wet so we can have so much green. it's worth it.
okay -- maybe i'll wander through one of these days! I do like warm...
ah yes, and the sneaker slogan... just ** **! fun when the grid does things like that!
we have subtle greens. can't beat the clear skys. come down for some enchiladas & margaritas
I had a lovely Guaymas shrimp cocktail for lunch today-fresh!
dunno if B7/44 has been mentioned yet
hi Krys!
s 7/44
quick question, how is the theme for the icons decided?
people suggest them and Babbler posts them on her profile page... of course, we can always just do what pleases us! that's part of the fun!
hi stidmama! how's it going?
thanks, you're just full of answers. :) just got an s 8/55 !
well, i had a nap earlier, so I am a little more alert than most nights... all in all, yesterday was a fine day.

80 words done, and nap or no nap it's late. good night, all! knutmeg, hope Liv lets you sleep a bit more tonight -- and if she naps in the daytime -- YOU nap too! {{hug}}
110 -- time for bed! :)
so far i've always managed to escape jury duty... but would like to see what it's like some day. civic duty, and all that! glad you have a week off -- it's nice to be able to change your routine.
good night nan!
goodnight hugs to you both!

I could stay for hours, but I'm going to bed at 112 words. Goodnight!
'night wassup.
Hi all I just played my first game yesterday and now I am hooked!
Can somebody tell me how the points work? I was reading posts before that you can only get 1000 points maximum per game?
ah, another victim of babble. Welcome.
But I'm at 905 points and only have 69 of a possible 212 words
There's no limit to the points - it depends on the number and length of the words. Go to Angelsong's Babble page link at the right; it will tell you how many points, as well as give you a list of the first two letters of each word, and lots more.
thanks mab that was really helpful
Angelsong did a brilliant job on that page; glad you found it useful.
sup guys

Well, good morning Deutsch. Insomnia?
Not much, zero. It's almost 3:30 in the morning. Can't sleep, so I thought I'd babble. sup with you?
not much, just killin time
Hi mab, someone is hogging the bed and woke me up. Tried to go back to sleep but decided here would be more interesting. And You? A little late, isn't it?
so, good morning. Since I am working, I figured I'd play.
New to the game!
good morning, AF!
Oh, bed hog. My second guess was that you were the replacement for katie couric. I'm chuffed. good grid so far. Night.
Mab! LOL Yeah, I'm sitting next to Matt even as we speak! Nighters!
weocome to babble, AF! You'll be addicted soon enough.
This is pretty hard for me. Especially since I have only slept like 3 hours today and now I am sitting here at work.
bye guys. time to go home.
use lickety's clues from the 'friends of babble' list to the right
bye, zero!
AFshortie, the clues help, plus the more you play, the easier it is to see words.
Santa's right about lickety's list Hi Santa!
morning all
hi Deutsch
how goes it?
Hi Sha! Santa, couldn't sleep, so here I am. It's 4 am here.
its 3 here...i took too many naps today...that and i dont usually go to bed till 5ish
good morning, good morning !!
ou8/65
hola sherb, sha
Hi sherb! Hi mrp! Santa, you're making me tired just thinking of staying up 'til 5. thanks!
hola santa :D ...I'm curious, do you have a May Day connection?
oh oh oh, it is bike day! BRB with my icon!
hi Deutsch !! ...you're up pretty late yourself...
glad i could be of service deutsch lol
may day? dont believe so
ou 8 opposite of in and cuss, (curse words) st8?
I was wondering if 1563 represents a date...in the UK, 1/5 would be May Day...
I'm up early, sherb. someone is being a bed hog. Santa is helping me get sleepy by talking about naps and staying up late.
oh, no. i was 15 when i came up with the handle and the scifi channel was 63 as well as my good friends football #
and the santa part is a really long story lol
so much for my powers of deduction, lol
well it is the most imaginative interpretation ive gotten so far lol
Sherb - your powers of deduction would have been correct with my numbers!
hiya everyone!
see there? it was just a bit misrouted lol
Morning Bex and everyone else!
sup bex
Hi bex, Hi haz!
hi Haz :D ... well, what do you know... and it's nearly your birthday...
morning Bex!!
A fact that gets anticipated less with every passing year....
Happy prebirthday, Haz!
haz when is your birthday?
Thank you Deutsch - I tend to think of myself as being one year older than I really am so in my head I've been 48 for a while. It's less of a shock that way!
LOL haz... I have been 29 for years!!
It's May Day, Bex - they kindly gave the country a holiday in my honour....
My grandmother was 39 until the day she died! Just like Jack Benny, if anyone remembers him...
29 is a good age - not too old, not too young!
I'd settle for 39...
Mr P - was lickety cheered by people giving him their support for his clues page?
Hi Haz! Yes! He was so happy... and thank you!
That's good - at least he now knows that he is appreciated.
lickety's clues page is very helpful, mrpres!
I agree Deutsch... and glad you are all enjoying it too!
got lost in the T's... Lickety's list is a lifesaver... he and BJ are very public-spirited... :D
Hey peeps! How many words today?
Hi puppy, 212
212 words
Oh dear. Lol.
4 more T's to find... this is when Lickety's list is a lifesaver...
Good for you, sherb. I'm working on the S's
This is an enjoyable grid so far. Lots of nice words - my favourites are the st6/6/27 and st7/44 - what bad cooks produce(d)
*ponders Haz's clues*
Lol Haz.
Haz, I thought it was an impolite way of referring to middle-age spread around the waist!
Well - if you eat enough of it, that's probably where it will settle!
Deutsch, have you found the word(s) yet?
Yes, strangely enough! I'm going to try to sleep a bit. see you all later!
Goodnight, sleep well Deutsch!
Finished - good puzzle today - but many thanks to Lickety for clues!
Congratulations, Dippnal!
later Deutsch...
Taking a break - see you later.
66 left off to work bye all
dipping in and out... also playing sudoku... later Haz and sha...
morin all
bye sha
I love this grid!
its kind of easy
But there's sooo many!
PP - this is nothing... wait until we get 400!!!
Haha! I can't wait! I think this is awesome!x-x-x
in fact, it's about time we had a monster... haven't had one for a few weeks now... Dr G must have a surprise in store for us...
=D I luuuurve surprises!
can i have a clue to the bu 6 30 please
hannah...alt spelling of 'watch the *******'
thanx rolin
Any clues for de5/12? Am I being really stupid? I can't get it...
Haha. Never mind. I'm there.
de5/12 - one who believes in god.
Lol Haz you're such a sweetie! Thanks. I would've got it from that!x-x-x
You're welcome, psycho!
hi everyone :)
Hey Atlante. Join the party. Lol.
Morning, Atalante!
morning Atalante :D
this looks like a nicer grid - finally!
It's the sort of grid a nice person would give you for a Christmas present.
no a2z so far... that's the measure of a good grid for me...
sudoku, on the other hand, is not good today...
I quite liked the sudoku today
I agree, Atalante! Good afternoon, dear gang :)
hi sprite!!
Nice size, this grid, looks promising. I hear there was a bit of a row yesterday, after I was stupid enough to let someone know she was too dogmatic to my taste? Never meant to cause so much fuss :(
now I''m getting a sudoku inferiority complex... at least there's Babble...
Sprite - it was not your fault! She was being unreasonable.
urf. don't even worry about it sprite ... it wasn't exactly intentional, any of the fuss, was it!
Sherb, I have been stuck 3x with the sudoku. No genius here, only a persistant inability to give up.
you weren't the cause of it, sprite... it was a fight waiting to happen...
and yes, she *was* being unreasonable!
Hi guys! Just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone. No time to play this morning, loads of things I need to get done first! : )
I remember the fuss about that T-creature troll and Mizu... should have kept my mouth shut. Sorry for the disturbence of the nice babble atmosphere.
Lola! :D Hi right back at you and *hugs*
hi lola :D ...I have loads to do too, but I'm finding excuses not to do it...
there are some thing you can't keep quiet about and feel happy about. the babble community is like any other, there's bound to be a few spats!
sprite, I read back through the log yesterday when I heard about the fuss. It was not your fault. Poor jacs was very upset and looking for a fight. It was going to happen eventually... : (
sprite - no, you shouldn't have kept your mouth shut... why should you!!
Ah well, I should be grown-up enough to know when not to open my big mouth. Glad you don't feel I was very unreasonable ;)
sprite, squeezy hugs for you! {{{{sprite}}}} ....in fact, sqeezy hugs for everyone {{{{everyone}}}} (there are NOT enough squeezy hugs in the world!) : )
woot!
Lola, I couldn't agree more. We are a hugging family in a degree that makes some people sick, lol, but we are all unwilling to change that even one bit. Moooooooore hugs are needed in this world!
the funny thing is, it could have been an interesting conversation about Alzheimers if things hadn't got out of hand...
hear hear!!! {{{{{{hugs all round}}}}}
Sometimes I react badly to dogmatic statements, that's all. I should have been more aware of the mourning process involved, not have jumped up the barricades like that.
Hi girls
can i have a clue 4 the io6 21 please
I agree sherb. Jacs could have got all the support (and more) that she was desperate for if she hadn't been so angry. I have learnt though that grief is actually sorrow and anger mixed : (
Hi ferrari :)
Hey ferrari! ...want some squeezy hugs?? : )
hi ferrari... I was just going to come over and get you, lol :D
Hannah - it's a science type word - add an anagram of si 4/5
sprite - me too, must be our logical minds... :)
thanx haz
if this had been the fist such incident, I might have been more understanding...
you're welcome!
oh dear, I just entered a word. Must go before I get sucked in! I will be back later, have fun everyone : )
now I know I'm an old Babble hack... I found the ta6/27 without the a2z...
go sherb!
later lola :)
I'm fine; just goes to show you can't make asumptions about other peoples cicumstances, there's always somebody worse or better off in all sorts of ways. Trouble was made unecessarily and not by you sprite at all, or me neither I think, I hope I wasn't unreasonable
Hey Lola, (((hugs ))) back. lol
let's look on the bright side... I've never been called a stag antler before!!! :D
That was funny sherb Do you like my icon, it was an ecard for my birthday from my daughter, she's in Guatemala
thats certainly original!
ferrari - it's beautiful... the only way it could be improved is if it was red... :D
just realised, you probably didn't mean the car... I've refreshed!!
thanks sherb, really must go now, I'm late, I'm late...
bye ferrari... see you tomorrow :D (((hugs)))
Good evening! Hope this is as easy as the Sudoku today!
I see what you mean now, pink elephants but not red; and definitely a red Ferrari is better than blue :)
for sprite and anyone else interested ... 2 new random pics ...http://www.deviantart.com/d eviation/31424463/ and http://www.deviantart.com/view /31629700/ I have a sudden urge to draw something babble-esque
Atalante, they're beautiful :D ...I wish I could draw like that...
maybe you could incorporate a stag antler into your next picture, lol!
Sorry, was reading up on yesterday's log and am really surprised about the aggressiveness. I think I go with that earlier suggestion here, about grief being a mixture of anger and pain. Perhaps when you are deep in grief, you do feel like you are the only one who knows how that's like. Anyway, glad no one is mad at me ;)
Sometimes you do feel like you are the only one who knows what something feels like ... but then again, you can also normally see - if explained - that other people have been there too, and could possibly help
you're both probably right... but bad temper is bad temper... and what did upset me was the attempt to send us all on a guilt trip...
I think the ff'ing and all is very unnecessary, especially here where everybody wants to understand and make people feel heard. But then again, grief can make people narrowsighted, we've all been there probably. Let's just stop about it and enjoy this beautiful babble day. I am going to take a look at Atalante's links, had to reboot first.
I think I am glad I missed all that 'feedback' yesterday...I don't need any more aggravation... and so, for a spot of relaxation, could some-one pls let me know how many 'a' s are here are today Thnx
There are 10 a words.
lynx - there are 10 - 7 from the top row and 3 from the second... :)
A's are NOT relaxation! LOL!
Thankyou
A's are distraction!!
Atalante, they are delightful! I am sure I see 'ywis' somewhere in that first one, lol.
Any clues for do5/16 please? =(
do5/16 - insert another vowel into the do4/7- ruler of Venice
thank you :) ywis really does deserve a picture ...
You star! Thanks a lot. x-x-x
ok, time for an early lunch... or late breakfast... later all :D
Have to go feed the horses! Thakns for all your help, guys, especially Haz! Lol, back soon! x-x-x
Glad to help, psycho.
Brunch covers it all ;) Bye sherb, *hug*
anyone got a clue for ab 5/16?
ab5/16 - literally means to lay end to end. Or add words of doubt or hesitation.
hello. late start for me today, but already have almost 50 words. this grid doesn't look to bad.
Welcome all!!!!!
It's a very nice grid today, Cliffopa.
woot! got one of the 8 letter words
care to share atlante?
maybe .... *grins* ST8/55. Made stronger
thank you Atalante
Thanks, - also look for the fe8/60 - to be found on faces or magazines
oooh thanks haz!
I got the ou8/65....if anyone hasn't !!....hello everyone :)

You're welcome!
and I am convinced that there just cannot be any i's in the second row !!!
and thanks Karys!
got the fe 8, but need a little more help for the st 8
ok....so there is ...1
cliff - it includes a rather unpleasant word in its middle
karys - howsabout a clue or a def. for the ou8/65......
lol...atalante :D
got it now! thanks :)
opp of in + to use naughty words
that was for you movieman !!
karys - thanx, but I'm not convinced that's a word..... Unless somewhere there's a cursing contest going on....LOL
i've noticed a few unpleasant words today. they jumped out at me. probably because my son dragged me to a very juvenile movie yesterday. "benchwarmers" it was stupid humor, but i ended up laughing through the entire film.
I agree....very strange word....but then what's new in babbleland !!
Good morning everyone! How goes the grid today?
Hiya, Jera!!!!
hi jera....was ok....but getting a little stuck now
thanks for that clue karys.
yw :)
Great clues on the 8 letter wrds. Thanks and GOOD MORNING!!!!!
I'm breaking my rule this morning... chatting with only 72 words...
Good morning Jera and Faerie!
morning jera, faerie, anyone else who is lurking.....
I have 120.... but seriously stuck now....and don't use the stats until he very last minute....hope that isn't now !!
Hi Jera, Karys, Haz, Cliffopa, Haz, Movieman, Atalante, and Rlee :) and anyone that I may have miss...I'm sorry
Hiya, faerie!!!!!!
hi there faerie :)
hi Faerie and anyone else I've missed
{{{Movieman}}} nice bike you got there.
guess i had better go change. today's theme just became clear to me.
Thanx, faerie..... I tried looking for a pic of Arnie on his Harley from Terminator 2, but I wasn't successful.....
That would have been a great pic Movieman. Sorry you can't see mine. Or what once was mine.
morning all
Speaking of nice motercycles... I know nothing at all about the (which is why I'm not participating today). BUT, it's my husband's fondest wish to have one again. How can I sneakily get him one keeping the surprise?? Is it a really personal thing & I should just get him a gift certificate let him go shopping? What sort of price range should I have? He's just a regular guy who would tool around for fun, not go to shows or do anything extreme or fancy...
Welcome, capone!!!!!
{{{Capone}}}
hi capone
Jera are you thinking of a Harley or did you have something else in mind?
He's not really a black leather knd of guy... a harley might be too extreme.
Maybe my own assumptions/prejudices are showing, which is why I'm asking for some objective help...
Jera - I know LOTS of business men how ride Harleys.
/sigh I have not done any puzzles since mid-week last week....hoping one day I'll log on and see like 10 extremely hard words..no luck. 8(
Are they expensive? They sound a bit too much, but again, myabe my ignorance is showing...
Yeah pretty pricey.
well I've just put up a pic of the only motorbike I've ever been on ...
=D Back! Soz for abandoning you all!x-x-x
snoop is gonna be pissed dogg doesn't count
er, ignore any clues i just gave away on that one. kthxbye
lol go capone!
I want 'studio' !!!
Jera - the Honda Shawod Spirit runs about 9k the honda deluxe about 6k and the rebel which is really nice bike runs about 4k all brand new pricing. So you should be able to get a used much cheaper.
Atalante... I forgot you ride... what is your opinion/recomendation on the matter? He used to have a bike, big enough to drive cross-country (when he was in the Navy). I don't want to spend a fortune unneccessarily, but I don want him to have something nice & cool...
Capone - just found out what your pic says LOLOLOL
That sounds reasonable, faeriekae... I could handle that range!
Jera - my icon is me...
i found out yesterday that i got an audition for the show "jeopardy" later this month-- i'm not overly confident because i've heard that not many folks pass the 50 question test to make it to the 2nd part of auditions-- but i will have fun trying!
yea, TSM love to chew on kitty ears...I lol'ed when my cat took a swing at her once.
I don't really ... I wish I did more but we're back in the realms of husbands / partners not seeming to appreciate girls on bikes!! So I don't really know enough to say anything useful ... I just want a bike with a sidecar so I can put the dog in it and drive her around!!!!
Ooooh, faerie... I had no idea! Your name conjurs much more delicate images...
bookgrrl - that is awesome. way to go. best of luck to you keep us posted I would love to watch if you are selected.
Now I'm curious... what does it say capone??
fa 7/44...any clues?
Jera - I've rode bikes all my life. still only 103lbs and nothing but skin and bones LOL
thanks, fairiekae-- send good wishes my way on april 30
How cool is that bookgrrl... keep us posted & we'll watch & cheer for you!
link in profile Jera
not closest to you
Jera it is hysterical....
fa7/44 - gary larsen comic
fa 7/44 - combination word meaning as distant as you can get
thanks, jera!
All words found and am taking a break - I'll check back later.

Huzzah for Haz!!
CONGRATULATIONS HAZ!!!
Hi all faerie how did th op go not been on for a while
Well Done Haz !!!
{{{Adsman}}} didn't have to have it. Doing physical therapy instead. Down to once a week now. How the heck are you?
I'm back, everyone!!!!! Just been searching for a new icon, sooooooo, You all know what to do!!!!!! By the way, being a Gary Larson fan, I really should have got the fa7/44.......
Thanks guys.x-x-x
Thats good news, im good thanks in full prep mode for the wedding
Very cutre, capone... is that you in the other link?
no, its my twin brother pedro
LOL, the puzzle is getting to me with the re endings...
Yes Jera it is Capone...
no, i told ya, it's my twin bro
Just changed my icon, sooooooo...... REFRESH EVERYONE!!!!!!!
I've been looking for an ar 4/4 for the last 15mins and I already have them all. duh.
I want an Indian... or a Harley :) Don't have the money though. But i LOVE the sound they make. There is something so very relaxed in it, that I do not hear from other motorcycles.
Good job Movieman...*Grin*
Thanx, faerie......
Sprite-plus the louder bikes are safer on the road. Really.
OK -the joke is over - my icon is really not me. *teehee*
Of course they are :D All be warned... here I come ;)
Just a friend of mine in Florida. I actually have darker hair.
Sprite - LOL - You should have seen me when I first started to learn to ride. I was riding down a sidewalk and ended up in the street going the wrong direction and couldn't turn around. LOL
I don't think I know enough to buy one second hand... but if I went to a deal with 10, I could shop well?
Sorry Jera *sprinkle*sprinkle*sprinkle* Someday I'll post a pic of me. For real
afternoon, everyone! :-D
Jera you would be the best wife on earth if you suprised him with a bike no kidding.
Hi Mikey *wink*
My first time on a bike was when a friend let me try it on a parking lot. Made me drive a figure 8 and was impressed I could do it right away. After that I thought I had to try some speed... that wasn't a good thought, lol.
got something in my eye :) oh wait its candy LOL
Hi Mikey :)
Guten Tag, Mikey!!!!!
Sprite - LOL - learning is fun huh. I did end up taking a rides training course before I got back on the road.
off for some lunch :) be back in a bit!
He puts up with so much crap doing the family thing... he used to be a really cool guy... I just want him to have a taste of that again... not too big a taste, I don't want him to leave or anything, LOL
hi Candy, and faeriekae.....ja, right; putting candy in your eye, are you? seems a strange thing to be doing! :-P
Ata - hurry back.
guten tag, movieman; wie geht's? :-)
Mikey - It just seems to happen.....LOL
{{{Mikey}}} Guten Tag!
Especially with the heavier ones, a training is necessary, lol. I agree. Wasn't that wise at that age, though, I still thought I could do everything.
hmm; ok, faeriekae.....you're a strange one! :-/ hehe!
Enjoy Atalante ;)
hello, (((((Jera))))) :-)
Jera - I don't think you have to worry about that. But a bike would be awesome. Actually the Yamaha V twin 800 is a nice bike also and very inexpensive.
Ich bin sehr gut, Mikey.... Und du...?
Mikey -excuse me, you are calling me strange?
Hi
Froogle - good morning :)
My first time on a bike was when my dad snuck me off for a ride... my mom had an absolute cow. My second time was in college, with my boyfriend... he scared the bejabbers outta me! But in a fun way...
Thanks, faerie, I'll start there...
Hi Froogle!
well; you're the one putting candy in your eye, faeriekae.....call that 'normal', do you? ;-) lol
Jera - the Yamaha vtwin 500 was my first bike.
'und dir?' ja; es geht mir ganz gut danke, movieman! :-)
Can't see the candy in faeriekae's eye because of the chocolate bar in mine...
Mikey *blush*
*sits back as high school German starts oozing out of storage... nope, better not try it & make a fool of myself* I know just enough German to get myself in trouble... only a bit more French. I took third year French & first year german the same year... that's when the horrible brain implosion happened...
Sprite LOL
morning all dont I look good for 47 yrs old LOL
Shorty - Wow - are you ever hot this morning.
Way too good, shorty, making me wanna dress in black drab and hide, LOL!
Mikey - Just read your profile..... That's not a profile, it's an autobiography......LOL
why thank you!
ok, movieman; well.....now go read my yahoo profile, linked to there.....if you can? ;-)
I'm back... had to hide the grid so my husband wouldn't see the motorcycle talk... or as my daughter used to call it, motortickle...
*wonders why one would hide while dressed in black... maybe it's a witch thing to show off in black*
*puts on her witchy clothes and feels better immediately* ;)
I think Dr_God intentionally made the grid so that 'bursitis' isn't in there. That's a nice thing to NOT have. :)
why are you blushing now, faeriekae? :-P
When I lie I blush.
no, sprite; a lot of dancers end up with that
Mikey, just read your autobiography... we have much in common! My last name is Shadowdancer... mostly I sing, now though... the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak as they say. My cat Zack is a Main coon mix.
*is tantalized by ALMOST being able to spell witch in lower left corner*
have you guys noticed alot of these words go with motorcycles!!!
Shorty your right - hadn't even noticed until now.
Some of the ou words are making me think of Survivor...
Jera; i've never seen such a surname before, but mine is nothing like that.....and that doesn't necessarily mean you're a dancer, does it.....or are you, in any way?
I used to be... wheelchair make it difficult now...
Mikey I see you got your flag
Now I sing & make jewelry... my daughter dances, not ballet, though. She prefers tap & jazz & of course, celtic folk dance...
She's learning the Jacobite dance for the Gathering of the Clans we are going to this summer...
oh, i'm so sorry, Jera; i didn't realize, had no idea! :-(
yes, shorty; Dr. God kindly whipped one up for me, which was nice of him!
that was very nice of him indeed
where do you sing, Jera; do you perform anywhere?
ja; sure was, shorty....very nice indeed! :-)
any one able to help me with last word please.. re 7/36
Rlee....re7/36....where you lived
No problem, Mikey... it's my best friend & saves me lots of pain! I just do Community Theatre & weddings these days... used to have my own band, though!
i think that is the one i have
i got that one thanks
good night all.. stay safe
With all the names in yesterday's puzzle, I was sure diego would work today...
I tried the same thing!
oh wow, Jera; i'm sure you have a lovely voice, then! :-)
karys - could you give any further hints for that re7/36 plz.....
thanks for that clue Kary I got it
Re7 other word for lived.
Thanx all - can't believe I didn't see that one......
You'll have to post a picture for us with you in costume, Mikey!
which costume, Jera? :-P
Lol, we've all been there, I am sure. I see 'ywis' as soon as I see the grid, but words like Re7 take hours to find. Babblipational hazard?
Something eye-candy-ish, preferably! ;>
Re/7.....means 'lived' or 'inhabited' :-)
in a way....lived, as in lived (at)
good morning!
{{{Angel}}} Good morning!!
morning, angel
Hi Angel :)
Une - good morning to you :)
Hi All - back from my breaks
hey, faerie :)
Anyone wanna help me with the e & i from the bottom row....? Danke.....
Angelsong, hello! :-)
Hi angel une and spellit!
Well, at 124 words, I need to go drug the littlie & get him off to school... no spring break for the preschool set... back in a few hours...
E4/6 protection, alt. spelling.
eg4 is a common Babble word--in the "real" world it's often spelled beginning with "ae" . . .
later Jera :)
morning, shorty!
Bye Jera, wb spellit :)
Got the e now, need the i.....
all the "i's" start with the other one a couple of rows up :-)
*poof*
oops, my bad! didn't see the bottom one!
No, une, there's one from the bottom row......
One doesn't, lol, but I haven't found it yet.
it's an i4 that looks like German!
une - what's the points value of that i4...?
i4/6
and the 2nd letter?
hi everyone! mikey - i see you got your flag! : )
Temple.....hi!!!!!!
Hi Temple brb
ic4/6
ic 4/7 --plural of German I
Thanx, une.....
Thanks :)
really stuck on the two 5 letter 'au' words :-/
lol; thanks for that clue, ARB!!! :-D
first one is plural of au4/5
one au is what you drive
oder, sollte ich sagen, 'vielen Dank', ARB! ;-)
Jawohl
Au5/12 looks like plural for gold. Ar4/4 with inserted letter.
sorry wrong one I thought you said au4
thank you *so* much, Uneaixoise and Sprite!!! :-)
I really want TARDIS to be a word!!!!!
Must be in some language. I think it means lateness :)
starting to tear my hair out over ba6,24 :-/
never mind, got it! :-P lol
you want to give a clue for that one Mikey? Please
'most naked', shorty ;-)
Ba6: covered (meat) in thin pieces of bacon or fat to preserve moisture during cooking. Or: equipped a horse with Ba4/7.
TY
Lol, yeah, also that one, thanks :)
I want to make an 8 from that Ou7 :(
you want a clue sprite ?
You mean there IS an Ou8? Please, I'd love a clue then, because the one I keep seeing isn't valid.
ok....opp of in + when you say naughty words !!
I'm back. di 6/36 please.
Lol, great clue, got it right away :) Thanks!
LOL Karys thats all most the the same clue I gave at 1:30 this morning
Good morning/afternoon all. There are two further 'competitive' words in ou6/21 and ou7/52
faerie, I did finish yesterday's grid...:)
yw....not got di6/36....so I would like a clue too !!!
di6/36 past tense of what you do when you create holes in your garden.
Angel -excellent - even after having Dylan thats great.
obviously great minds then shorty ...lol
thankyou
I am such a bad Babble-Mom...
ty Haz....thats as stupid as the ou word !!
how many words today?
Karys - so true.
No your not Jera.
I was whisking my poor kid off to school with no breakfast!
faerie, first we had an appointment for counseling; then we had to go pick up Dylan, but she had forgotten to leave the car seat for him so we had to go to her job to pick that up, then we picked up Dylan, then I had to log in for work. Finished the grid after work last night :)
212 words today.
The good news is I have a few more minutes to Babble while he eats, LOL
Jera thats what pop tarts are for right?
Angelsong, I'm worn out just reading that...
At least you have your priorities right, Jera ;)
And if you give him second helpings, you get even longer....
yes get minds!!! :)
Actually French Toast Sticks... that's all he'll eat for breakfast these days...
heh, Jera...the trick is to just do it. if I stop to think about it, I'm lost :)
got the ou7..... not in one.....but not got the ou6
No second helpings... 2 sticks, cut into 3 pieces each... eaten with a metal fork... Did I mention my son is being testing for autism?
Angel - you were one busy Lady yesterday. My Insurance guy is coming over today. We are going to go over one of my IRA accounts and stuff like that so I worked on getting the paper works he needs most of the evening.
Karys - it's what you would get if people were competitve in how good their vision was.
Karys: when I use my eyes better than you do. Jera: *hug*. Must be tough.
praes u lurking
got now ty :)
The worst part is not knowing... an offiicial diagnosis would actually make me feel better, it would explain a lot! Plus get him whatever help he needs because I'm barely coping, certainly not helping him
Jera - how is that going anyhow? I know you were talking about it a week or 2 ago.
now back to the 'd's
The ou6, 7 & 8 could be a Survivor slogan...
I am waiting to hear when they will have a meeting about him, which I will be invited to... I think I'll give them a call... it was estimated we could have an IEP by the 20th, which is fast approaching!
clues for either of the do 7s?
Jera - at least you will be able to find out something. I'm sure right now anything they tell is better than nothing at all. The not knowing has to be the hardest part. Because you have no idea what your dealing with.
just got the do 7/36, so just need the 7/52
do7/52 - to be canine-like is the best way I can describe it. do7/36 - superlative of the grumpy d04/6
The other do7/36 - plural of the preceding do6 - do plus French for late.
Well, gotta go again... back later... thanks for the encourageing words, faerikae!
Later Jera ((x))
Or for Dr Who fans, do plus Dr Who's time machine minus a vowel (do7/36)
ty Haz...lol
thanks, haz!
You're welcome!
de5/12, plz......
de 5/12 - belief in a god (dr god?)
Movieman - de + 3rd vowel + plural letter + cross letter

Hi Haz! Better than yesterday as far as sleep goes, but Liv is still uber fussy and only sleeping for an hour or two at a time. Feeding her now. :-)
need a clue for di 6/36
hello again, everyone; i'm back to the puzzle for a bit now.....and i'm still really stuck on be7,44 :-/
Mikey, a man with a hirsute chin can be described as be7/44
Hi Mikey! You'll tear your whiskers out when you find it!
re6/24, plz......
mickey a type of tit bird
or a hirsute.....well; like me, Angelsong? :-P
Hey look, the german flag!
re 6/24 - add what a cricketer hits a ball with , then a vowel
no; i've tried everything i can see and think of, according to your clues, and nothing's working! :_(
ooh, thanks Haz; i played cricket at school! :-)
mikey, some clams are also be 7/44
ron - di6 = how you made holes MM - you do it again to your fish hook
MIkey, if that's your pic, you are not a be7/44 man
ahhhh; thanks, Angelsong!!! :-D finally!!!!!
I meant the 2nd re6/24.....
I meant the 2nd re6/24.....

So are you still missing a be or can you be off to the bu's?
hi everyone im back! mikey is see u got your flag!!
Now it's a go that doesn't want me to find it. I've got: dieties 2 sicknesses sing. + pl. veggie sing. + pl. What's missing?
One of the veggie ones has a vowel ending.
veggie + 2nd vowel
Thx Haz - who would have thought...
I am missing one of the ar 4,4
Oh, I know.
ja; that i did, bex777.....Dr. God whipped one up for me early this morning, which was very kind of him! :-)
l dun did them all, well rusty did most of them. any help needed
Two of the ar 4/4 are anagrams of each other. The other is linked with drawing etc.
merk your sitting on one possible!!
1st ta5/12, plz.....
Thanks, Haz. That last one always reminds me of falling on my ar.. and do you think I can recall that fool thing when it comes time to fill it in!!
movieman try italian dr who mobile!!
Thanx, ron.....
It'll become second nature eventually, Merk.
good morning (afternoon), everyone
Hi C-nan!

Just got the fa7 - think Gary Larson

oh; how *cute*, MAMABEAR!!! :-) and no, who/what is 'a2z'?
hi sherb!!!!! You have more than I do - haven't started yet!
it's a website that is very helpful: www.a2zwordfinder.com
hi MAMA!!!! ...played this morning, but spent more time chatting that wordhunting... :D
oh, ok MAMABEAR; but it's enough to keep switching back and forth between Lickety's page and this one, for now! :-P
shrink the screens and have them on screen together
68 to go -- think I'm going to have to resort to the list today.
go6/24?
go6/24 is a medical condition relating to the throat
That's a mean one - go6/24 - a sickness (I think lack of salt?) spelled wrong (and plural)
not lack of salt, lack of what they put in salt so you don't get go6/24
It's spelled the British way! To do with over/under production of thyroid.
Ok, ok - so it's not spelled *wrong*.... didn't mean to offend
Hey all, I'm back for more...
No, I wasn't offended - it was just so the American contingent could find it more easily!
thank you for that wonderful clue, Haz1558! :-)
Hi Jera!
hey Jera :)
I've picked up a lot of British ways from chatting here...-ise rather than -ize, -re rather than -er... now I'm weirder than ever to my mundane aquaintances...
well, you know us american.....if it aint from here...it aint RIGHT
You're not trying to say that Americans are insular, are you??
There's the Ugly American 'tude we are famous for, Donster, LOL
Haz, my right hand helper. Are you still here? I am stuck on two ba words, near the bottom of the lickety list, I think. the final ba 4,6 and two above it 6,24
WHAT..me? never....were just always right
The final ba4/6 is used in all sorts of games to hit balls with.
Yikes, 84 more words to go... guess I better go visit BA...
I have that stick, but I put it second to the last, So what is above that stick then?
ba6/24 - the most naked you can be (superlative for ba4/6)
Above that stick are places where people hang out and drink.
Same with me, Jera - my spelling is all over the place nowadays!
I could I have missed naked as a jay bird.
re 7 36 ? need help from some kind soul
So I must be missing the 4,6 between very naked and the stick used in games.
Why are jay birds naked, anyway?
really stuck on 'do7,52' now :-/
re7 - used to live
Jera....I know. I just love poking fun at my own expence. after all the brits arent the only humorus ones!!
re7/36 - a polite way of saying 'lived in'
or is it humorous?
Or re7/36 - the fisherman gets his line ready again
Mikey - like a canine
re7/36 'lived (at/in)'
We share a proud history with that 'tude... got it from the Brits who got it from the Romans... I love History... there is nothing new under the sun...
or humourous...?
no, it says i have used that. i will look again thanks
aint it da truth
humorous
used everything i can see/think of that way already, amandacath.....nothing's working :-/
do7 - first three letters as canine. Next letters, a word that can mean water rushing from a tap or someone talking over sweetly. Change the vowel.
mikey--ending for word you're trying for is one way to pronouce 1st person singular in German...
Thanks Haz....I never could get used to the way the Brits use all the proper letters.
just pulling his leg ;)
With babble it pays to know all the possible ways of spelling a word!
that's not working either, bookgrrl :-/ nothing is!!!
Then try - canine (three letters), creature that lives in the sea (plaice, haddock) but change the f to a g.
It took me a while too, Mikey - how 'bout silent-film-star-Lillian's pet?
ending isn't ich, mikey, but a softer way of saying it...
oh duh; finally....yes, it did work, when i realized you meant the other pronunciation of it that i don't use personally! :-P so *thank* you!!!
ja; ich verstehe dass jetzt.....und vielen Dank, bookgrrl!!! :-)
Micki if someone asked you where you live you say i re****in Berlin
Haz1558: just wanted to tell you I thinkyour clues are the tops.
ich sprech deutsche nur ein bischen, mikey, aber sind Sie wilkommen. (and i don't even think that's right!)
Haz ROCKS!
hmm, Yvo??? i'm not stuck on the clue you think i am, it seems.....i have that 're' word already, long ago :-)
not quite, bookgrrl.....'ich spreche'
sorry about that guess i didnt read back
'ich spreche nur ein bischen Deutsch' it would be ;-)
that was a typo...saw it after i hit enter...but thanks, mikey
oh, ok bookgrrl :-)
Oh, thank you. Sorry, I was distracted there booking my daughter's flight back to university next week.
thanks for all the help but one more still eludes me. re 6 24 ? not the angling one
do 6/24?
Good morning - How is the grid today?
re 6/24: put a worm on the fish hook again
The other re 6/24 - add an implement used in sport to hit a ball, then the circular vowel.
Hi musicmom -- not too bad
that's ok, Yvo; thank you anyhow!!! :-)
thanks haz
do6/24 - add French word for 'late'
does anyone have a hint for the go 7?
Sounds good cybernan. think I will take the plunge. didn't finish after is tarted yesterday.
do6/24 - a senile person re6/24 - maybe if you get money back in Italy?
just when I was beginning to give up on the R's, clues appear... thanks Haz and nan :)
go7 is plural of the thyroid throat condition
thanks guys:)
got it, Haz, thanks -- at first all I could think of was the phrase "en re____"
ru 6, anyone?
Glad you got it - it's pluralised for the 7 as well.
nevermind... i keep getting the word right after i ask for the clue today!
bookgrrl - same as that elusive re6/24 - I have to think "Domo arigato, Mr. R*****" when I hear those two...
that was the best clue EVER!
ru6 - same ending as the re6/24 featuring the sporting implement. It looks like an instruction to scratch a foot digit!
funny clues, both, amanda and haz!
Just for you Hurshy....DONE...anyone need a clue??
dr 5/12? (one of the last two -- have the one that sounds like clothed)
hey hey Ouwachita!!
Congratulations, Ouwachita!
dr5/12 - plural of the dr 4 preceding it. dr plus double vowel.
Congrats, ouwa!
dr5/12...plural of the dr4/5
I've got a mild sw5/18-word for dr5/12...
cybernan, d plus riddle me --- (in plural!)
cineva vorbesti romanieste
thanks, Ouwa *banging head against the wall*
Okay, the sun is shining so I'm going to take the opportunity to walk the dog. She's happily snoring away in the kitchen but one shake of the lead will get her roused! Happy hunting!
CYA Haz.....have a GREAT walk
Break time -- back later -- thanks for the help, everyone.
bye haz. Cyber
bye Haz... enjoy the walk :)
did haz say sunshine???....sheez..she cant be near my neck of the woods...its peeing it down here
I'm back.
hi faerie!
any clues for the first do 5/18 please.
{{{{{faerie}}}}}}}
Hi Ata :) nice bike.
{{{{MusicMom}}}} Hi how are you? And did you ever get your diningroom finished?
Ooops refresh. I was still wearing my avalanche from yesterday
Faerie - best-selling pickup ever, if I'm not mistaken...
first ta5/12?? I'm racing to finish before work. Help is welcome.
I'm doing great. Yes. I just finished it yesterday. We went and got a hutch and an antique organ from my grandparents. It looks soo good!!!!
Angel - nasty name for a mentally handicapped person?
Music - congrats on the big job done. I know you must be very happy to have that mess over and done with. And there is nothing like new/old furniture. I just got and Antique bedroom a week ago and I love it.
Amanda I didn't get the clue about the best pick up line ever????
Thanks. this was by far the biggest home improvement project I had taken on to date. I'm ready to rest for a little while before starting another.
I bet you are. Such a mess.
Inge's husband gave me some lily of the valley so I got those planted as well. I need to decide what kind of flowers I want to put on the front of the house. It gets full, strong morning sun.
not pickup line, pickup truck!
Oh....that makes sense. Thanks Amanda.
the sanding was the worst. A friend showed me how to use a nail gun to put the chair rail and baseboard back up. That was fun!
Anything to help!
Nail guns are fun. I used one putting up my privacy fence. Actually I used to nailgun just to get them in place and then used a screw gun or what ever it is called. Works wonders huh. And yes the sanding is a terrible mess. Hope you wore a mask.
Hi all........
Hi Caitlyn
Yes most of the time I wore a mask. I have to with my allergies. Hi Cait.
Music - l love your icon. So sweet.
Angel don't you know you can't wear heels on a bike? LOL
Thanks. I found it on the web - I am afraid of motorcycles:-)
Hi All, Don't be afraid, MM!
Hi chic
That's what everyone tells me chic. But, I cannot make myself get on one.
really stuck on the 1st 'to5,12' :-/
st8?
Mikey plural of yourto4/5
Music-as for plants I grow lots of daisies and blacked susans and purple salvia and lavander they all do great in full sun.
Those sound good Faerie. Are they perennials and do they require a lot of care? I'm a lousy gardner.
can't be, Caitlyn; that word's already pluralized? :-/
Angel when you have made something stronger you have st...... it
Hi Caitlyn, just appreciate MM, they are a thing of Beauty!
Yes Music they are perennials and require minimal care. and come back bigger and better each year.
Oh I love to look at them. In fact, I love to watch American Chopper.
there ya go!
Mikey there are 2 to 5/12 both are plural words
st7/44?
That sounds perfect Faerie. I'll have to pick some up the next time I'm out. LOVE the smell of lavendar.
ja, Caitlyn; but it's the first to/5,12 i'm talking about, and the word just before it is already pluralized :-/
past tense st 6/27
Angel add a cons to your st6/27
Has anyone seen Toes lately?
I haven't, but I haven't been on very much in the past few days.
Faerie I have been asking about her but no one replies
Just wondering how she is feeling. She had been having some morning sickness I believe and Capone doesn't talk about it so thought someone might know.
haven't seen her either :(
Caitlyn - I'll e-mail her and see whats going on and I'll let you know.
TY
Oh yes Faerie - check on her. Thanks!
I miss that little stinker.
doing it right now.
Need help, please with the st6/27...
I'm not there yet Jera. Sorry
good morning, will be in and out all day -- perfect gardening weather!
st6/27 'heavy' food
I have an st6/27 that has to do with warfare, but I don't see any way to add to it for the st7/44. what am I missing?
Jera-fire a weapon at low altitude in WWII. Think Nazi
Oops. mine is st4/27, too. Sorry.
Oops, I need the last st6/27, if that helps anyone help me...
Ok I just e-mailed Toes so hopefully I'll hear something soon.
I should check my e-mail & see if JoelGee replied...
st6/27 - rhymes with do5/18
Jera have you heard from Toes?
I have one that st6/27 that doesn't have a definition. Ends like an american made truck
ST + cons + british air force + vowel
It can be past tensed.
I got the rhyming one Dipnall gave
Got it, thanks! The war clues finally kicked in...
st 8/55 please? lunch is almost over! hi all since my last visit

Oh yes, musicmom... everyone knows just how rude you are...
*sneaks up and sprinkles MusicMom* she loves it in her hair *sprinkle*sprinkle*sprinkle* *teehee*
Hi just in from work, a quick babble before shopping.
Im sure you are never rude musicmom
thank you faeriekae! oh, that feels delicious! :-) *dance on tiptoe*
Hi Kate :) *sprinkle*
*spins around in a big circle waving madly in a widespread greeting so no one will feel left out*
katieW -- a reindeer?
oh - it's no use : ( ..i'll try later... must go walking...i have developed babblebutt!
Oooo I'm all sparkly. Thanks faerie. I try not to be cait.
Stidmama - I love your drawings they are so clever :)
45 words left & I must go do something productive in 13 minutes... think I'll finish??
TO -- see you soon! take my German Shepherd with you -- he keeps whining at me to play!
Sure - Jera - You can do it.
Later TO
go Jera, go Jera, go Jera *sprinkle*
go Jera go!
stidmama - it's a moose as my hamster got rejected on grounds of phobia.
how many out- words are there? out of curiosity...
I'm sorry Katie :(
212 words
*light bulb comes one* OK! thanks MM!
Katie if you want to use your hampster its ok. I can hide the icons. No prob.
No problem faerie - I just hope we never have a butterfly theme or I won't be able to post either.
oh -- okay -- these itty-bitty icons make it hard to see sometimes. what are you shopping for?
Really - butterflies are your phobia? Angels is moths. So you too are in the same boat.
good morning.
Faerie - that's really kind but I like my dopey moose and I wouldn't stop anyone having fun with the icons, I'm just not technologically advanced enough to change mine every day!!
hi boreetos! : D
Hi boreetos
Hi Boreetos.
boreetos! (i always want corn chips when you are here...)
Katie Lol - you could do it. I'm dum as a rock with computers and I finally figured it out so I'm sure you will too. :)
can anyone give a hint for either go 6/30?
Boreetos Hi :)
corn chips huh? ok...
no, Caitlyn, sorry.....we were busy clearing up and rinsing/loading all our supper dishes here :-P i'm still stuck on that one! but we're off to walk the dog shortly :-)
im generally too lazy to change my icon eveyday.
Stidmama I'm really tall so have had to order in extra long white jeans which I can pick up tonight. Don't know how long I will keep them clean at a time but always willing to give these things a go :)
Katie It took me a while to learn how to change the icon but i enjoy doing it now
Hey Mikey - how many words so far?
hey, katieW; there are no 'meese' in Britain!!! lol; i figure if the plural of 'mouse' is 'mice', then the plural of 'moose' should be 'meese', no? :-P
is anyone else having trouble connecting to babble?
how "really tall"? I'm really short -- only 5'3.5" I just cut the bottoms off all my pants! and haven't successfully worn white in years...
one go6/30 is the plural of the go5 above it
im having no difficulties.
well; i only have 130 words so far, faeriekae.....82 left to find yet! :-/
Mikey that is great. :) I only have 90 words so far myself LOL
Krys10.....an avid Scrabbler, are you? do you play Literati, by any chance??? :-) if so, i'm always looking to add people who like to connect for multiplayer games.....so you could always add me on yahoo messenger by the same username i have in here! :-)
I finally have 102.
Katie I'm curious also on how tall you are? I'm 5'4"
I'm just under 6ft everyone knows the plural of Moose is Moosies - I went to Canada at Christmas and even got my Canadian relatives saying it!!
Uneaixoise- i'm afraid i'm missing that 5 too, any other advise?
Finished the do's. now to the dr's
i have two words more and then i'll have 100 and will go ou 7/36...
the other go6 is the brit spelling of a neck growth
lol; i'm from Canada originally, KatieW.....i just live in my mom's birthplace and former hometown, now.....where i have lots of relatives! :-D
4 left... all do's
there are 3 go 6's. i have the neck growth but that's the only one i have
Mikey, I forgot to mention that I play Literati as well... what name do you use?
I wish I had long legs :(
i disagree, if we examine the wisdom of Brian Regan, the famed comedian, he states the following: Ox, Oxen Box, Boxen Goose, Geese Moose, Moosen
Boretos - LOLOL
it makes perfect sense.
boreetos lol :) I like your logic
i think it would be nice to be tall -- reach cabinets without standing on a chair... but then, it's less of a distance to fall when I venture onto skiis. :-)
it's a 'vegetable' that grows on a vine usually in the fall . . . go5 comes in many shapes and colors--they're very decorative
ok; anyone here who wants to add me on yahoo messenger to connect for literati games can either add me by the same username i have in here right now, or else 'mikey4literati', which is just an alias of my main yahoo account, anyhow! ;-)
Good point Stidmama...:)
mikeyinberlin@yahoo.de is the main account
thank you! that helped a lot!
yw :-D
one more word... *squinting eyes at grid*
faerie its not always good to have long legs it takes ages shopping because short people ask you to pass things from high shelves for them!! Im 5.8
Hi Blue :)
I love being tall now but no so much fun when I was 13. I always get called upon in supermarkets for reaching stuff, which makes you think that at least you have helped someone in the day.
hi faerie :)
I'm 5'8" as well. I dont mind now, but I hated being tall as a kid!
caitlyn - At least I know it's not just me now
ok, i'm horribly stuck.....the 1st of the 2 'to5,12' words, 3 spaces up from the bottom of that section, anyone? :-/
I'm 5'9" and i love it. although i'm taller than my husband in some heels
Caityln - Wow - I don't know I think I could handle it. I have long waist line so I think long legs should fit nicely :)
WAhhhhhh I'm 5'1" (1.5") on a good day<g>
lol, KatieW; i know that feeling.....i'm 188 cm (6' 2") :-P
Im from a tall family my youngest brother is 6.4
Is everyone here tall except for me and Stidmama? Whats up with that?
done!
Hi everyone and what a coincidence! A friend just emailed and is worried about her daughter who is a trim third grader. Unfortunatley, she's a head taller than her friends. My friend is 6 ft, and understands, but her daughter is still not coping well.
I'm the shrimp of us all it seems.
sorry, faeriekae; shall i take myself in at the knees a bit? :-P
as a vertically-challenged person, I am officially thanking each and every person who is 5'6 and over for all the help over the years... ;-) ((hugs))
since when is "Eggo" not a word. I've been legoing them for years.
My last partner was smaller than me so I just wore the heals anyway. Always good when I walk into meetings with heals on as almost everyone is smaller.
Mikey - No your perfect just the way you are *wink*
YAY rycaut!
LOL boreetos
i dont mind being 5'2'' ish........when i have my 5'10" partner to cuddled into...
lol, musicmom; i guess we wouldn't see 'eye to eye' really....more like eye to....kneecap? ;-) hehe!
Ok Music how tall are you?
well, i'm far from 'perfect', faeriekae; and are you winking at me??? :-o oh my!!!
Or how short are you?
I'm 5' 1"
Tell your friend's daughter to hold her head up tall. If she tries to stoop to look smaller she will just look like a tall person trying to look small, if she stands up straight she will look really elegant. As for boys, they catch up eventually.
Mikey - did I wink? Just an eye twitch :)
My husband is 5'10"
I was 5'-1" when I graduated high school, am 5'-10" now, had a bit of a late growth spurt.
warum heisst du 'Deutsch', Deutsch?
Music - my niece Kim '38 yrs old' is exactly 5' and she thinks she is the shortest woman on earth. Short is good.
My ex-hubby is 6'4"
i see Gary Larson's in the grid today! :-)
always good advice, katie. Thanks!
she isn't faeriekae; i know a woman older than her, who is only 4' 10"
Faerie - I'll be 37 next week so I don't think I'll be growing any more<g> Yoga helps stretch me a litte<g> At least, that's what I tell myself. Short has it's advantages but I imagine it is as hard to buy pants for extremely tall as well as extremely short.
best comic ever. Just got the box set this past Christmas. :)
i agree, boreetos!
Lets face it if you are short or tall it doesn't matter as long as you are happy - my official thought for the day!!
4'10" is Short ....
well said, katieW!!! :-D
well said Katie, I'm out kids, I'll be back later.
I second that Katie
Mikey, it's a college nickname. naturally, I was taking Deutsch at the time. But I'm rusty now. My nickname was so ingrained, some people thought it was really a part of my name. Even professors called me deutsch LOL
Yeah - why can't we just all be happy with the size/height we are huh? I guess I'm happy with myself I have no choice. I work out and I am who I am.
Bye Bor Yep agree Katie. I like me just the way I am.
I'm 5'2" and don't realy mind it 'til I get on an elevator full of tall people... then I get a bit claustrophobic
happy with my height -- and now at 100 words, will go play with the gods/dogs. later, all!
can anyone help, please??? i am *so* stuck.....the 1st of the 'to5,12' words, 3rd item up from the bottom of that section in Lickety's clues page :-/
Macuser - 5'2" is a good height.. and Hi :)
Hi faerie! :) How are you?
I'm 5'4" & happy with that...
Mikey I'm there yet sorry.
*blush* didn't realize that word was in the grid... oh well. outta here!
I was supposed to stop 15 minutes ago *sigh*
Macuser - great and yourself? The grid isn't too bad today.
hi bluephlox
Stidmama are you finished?
Bye stid
Doing okay faerie, thanks :) And yes, the grid is a fun one today!
oh, i see, 'Deutsch'.....well; if you want some good practice, try reading my yahoo profile! :-P http://de.profiles.yahoo. com/mikeyinberlin
The first to5/10 = plural of to4 above it... usually a y after it in English, for someone who acts all fancy & full of themself...
you can always tailor pants that are too long... not so if you are tall.
thanks, Mikey, that will be very helpful!
ja; too true, pthomp.....unless you want to add material to the bottom of the cuffs :-/
lol, Deutsch; not sure how 'helpful' it will be, if you can't read it all.....but still, good practice anyhow, i'm sure! ;-)
The B's are killing me, am I going' to have to whip out the 2nd letter list on this one?
bunny..is that YOU?
you could get by adding to the bottom of your jeans, but that went out in the 60s
Hi Bunny - who's the pic of?
brb
Make-up less, but yeah...
thank you *so* much for your wonderful clue(s) there, Jera; much appreciated!!! :-)
I need to get my German back up to speed ... going there in a few months ...
reading the grid i am 4 10 :)
Oh your so cute....
LOL we know your short Shorty....*teehee*
you're coming here, Atalante? wow; to what part?
Faerie, are you hitting on me? LOL, Thank you.
Its great to put a face to you I have wondered what you look like!! Now i know you are lovely!!
wasn't there a song out a long time ago about short people? *running away*
Bunny - Welllllll - your cute.
i don't want a pickle... i just want to ride on my motor-sickle and i don't want a nickel... i just want to ride on my motor-sickle and i don't want to die... i just want to rid eon my motor-sy (cle)
yes my husband sings it to me all the time
"blushing", thanks... And here you thought I was white and fluffy....
i'm still badly stuck on the first 'to5,12' word :-/
LOLOLOLOL Shorty
with a cute little tail.
faeriekae "Short people got no business to liiivvveee" I think it was 1970 or so. I was living in Hawaii at the time at 5'0. :) Ooops haven't updated my icon. BRB
what's with this motorcyle 'theme' in here today? :-/
mikey, it's the plural of the word just above it . . .
Mickey - to5/12 plural of the to4/5
I try, Mikey... that was a kinda tough one...
Mikey we have themes everyday.
Mikey plural of the to4/5 above it
I'm 5'5", I think having kids stunted my growth, there was more potential there. My dad is a giant.
the word just above it *is* already plural, though!!! at least in my word list here? :-/
Aachen. To visit friends and do some painting :)
I told Mikey that an hour ago LOL
oh no; my mistake.....don't mind me, i need a vacation!!! :-P
hi hi atalante!
Love your pickle hurshy!
i don't have the t's yet so just spell it out for Mikey he has been stuck on the same word for an hour.
Hi Mikey - glad to see you have your flag now. For the to5/12 - when you go somewhere new, do you ever go on a **** bus? Try the plural of that...
hi hursh :)
ja; i had things entered wrong, and was totally confused, caitlyn.....not that it takes very much to confuse me! :-/
ty musicmom, did you read the song?
Mikey, I managed to get the gist of your bio. sounds like you and Heinrick have fun!
Hi hurshy :)
I did --- I'd rather have the pickle<g>
Hello, again, can I have a clue for the do 6/24 and the do 7/36 (first one), please?
hi mac! well the song is something my dad used to sing... does anyone know where he got it?
Okay, I got my yahoo all set up... who can I add next *rubs hands together cackling loudly*
If you have got it now hurrrrah!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pour yourself a glass of wine and relax
mikey, sounds like you're missing a 4 letter. try to + 3rd vowel + 1st letter again then make it plural
Me
What's this, first Randy Neuman, then Arlo Guthri. What next, donovan? (They call me mellow yellow... quite rightly)
fkae614 - Jera
Can I do it with just a nickname or do I need e-mail??
You're right, Deutsch, it was Arlo guthrie that did hurshy's song :)
Oh, I know your e-mail, faerie, cuz you joined my pitiful yahoo group *reminds self to work on that soon*
Jera I'm oumusmom same email address that you already have
Jera I think you can use either.
yay, i broke 600!!
oh, thank you! according to my dad, he wrote everything - including row, row, row your boat - so i have a sad lack of knowledge of who actually wrote things
Well done coRRie Im going to cook supper now, catch you all tomorrow Happy babbling bye
Bye Cait.
Bye Cait
Bye Caitlyn :) enjoy
bye Catilyn!
That was fun... I love a new toy...
going shopping now BBL :)
mikey - you might go on a to** of the continent
and then more than one
Mikey - to + 5th vowel + r then make plural
Bye Katie.
Bye Katie
wombat, are you there?
Whew! Done with the stupid G's...
st5/12?
i was just thinking, maybe there could be more b words... ugh
bbl - need some lunch.
Bye Faerie
st5/12 st + yours, mine and *** (singular)
go on a to** and add a curvy letter to the front
bye faerie.
Hi everyine -- just popping in for my 10 minute lunch visit! (*Hugs*)
Hallo everyone. I have been working silently and am about to scream. Well, I am screaming for help now. Anyone have a clue for the two ba 5's, the first two.?
Hi GW!
hi inge hi grey
ba 5/14 - plural the 4/6 above it, what you fish with ba5/16 - add 2nd vowel to ba 4/7 before it
{{{GreyWoulf}}}
...and hello!
Hey chic -- just visiting today -- I tend to avoid the >200 grids lately -- I need to spend some time with my family :)
Hi GW - Hi Inge.
Jera -- did I interpret correctly -- are you now set up with Yahoo IM?
Can I get a clue for the di 5/14?
Thaks, bunny. MM how does your garden grow???
Time for lunch... BBL
di5/14 science term. di+poem.
Bye Mac
one is the plural of something you use for fishing the other is a poet like Shakespeare with a funny ending
gw-family is highly overrated. just kidding. I was just thinking my kids could stand a little attention this morning
I need di 5/14 as well.
Yes, GW, which is why I'm not done with this puzzle yet, LOL
*sigh* those were for the two BA5s. Clearly I'm way behind the times :)
di 5/14: di + a poem
I got them all in Inge. I can see them popping up! I watered this morning since it didn't rain yesterday as it was supposed to. We are in the mid 70s today and going to be near 80 by the weekend. That was a ton of starts!!! Filled my whole space. Thanks again!
di5/14 I think of batteries
GW; merry greet.....heard you were here!!! ;-)
er.....'merry meet'? or whichever's correct? :-/
Inge- Faerie has been helping me decide what to put at the front of the house because it is full, strong morning sun. We were discussing blackeyed susans and lavendar.
Jera -- you can add me to your list -- use my yahoo address -- I can't IM while at work, but we'll be ready for later :)
What is your nick, GW & I will add you...
thanx, nan got a clue for the do 6/24 and the do 7/7/36 following?
Mikey's trying to be pagan... we're a bad influence on him, GW...
Your seasons are ahead of Michigan. Our lilies of the valley are barely peeking out. I also need the fa 6/33 and fa 7/44
broke 1300 and 93 to go ... back later
Mikey!! (*Hug*) -- glad to see you man -- and whichever works for you -- I am not that picky -- though I have met some pagans who make the pope look like a laftover from the 60's! :D
In Yahoo, I am gw_babbler -- someone else stole greywoulf on me :\
aw; thanks for the (*Hugs*) GW.....and a (((((hug))))) for you too! :-)
the fa7 is a cartoon by Gary Larson I'm still ooking for the fa5/18 and the two 6 that follow it.
TY for the di...
DUH DUH DUH!!! They are go5/18 and the two 6 words. Not fa.
i know a grey wolf.....the canid variety; his name is 'Thor', and he's back home in Ontario.....he owns neighbours of my best friends' :-) lol
Green thumbed hubby says both are good choices. For summer color you might want to add gloriosa and/or perenniall sunflowers.
what's also known as a 'timber wolf'
No sunflowers - for some reason I hate the way they look. I enjoy the seeds though:-). I will look at gloriosa. Thanks.
gotta go - order arrived for an afternoon parent and it is about time for class.
That is too cool, Mikey -- living on Long Island I never had the opp to meet any true wolves, but who knows what will happen here in PA :)
i love sunflowers! they remind me of paintings by Vincent van Gogh.....they're wonderful! :-)
Oooh, I look popular now, LOL... there are 2 people on my contact list I have no idea who they are... must be from some old group...
Bye MM
Van Gogh is my favorite artist... I have a big tapestry of Starry Night over my couch
Thor's nice, GW; a very quiet, placid, reserved but very gentle creature.....he has that natural timidity they have, but will gradually and eventually approach you, once he's sized you up from further away, and decided you're safe enough! :-)
Hi/Bye and (*Hug*), mm :)
Bye, MM... we must chat sometime (like we don't enough here, LOL)
Hubby just added echinacea to his suggestion list.
and then.....he loves to be petted!!!
Be warned Jera -- you think chatting on the log can be distracting? Wait til you have the log and three other IM convos going on at the same time!!
I'm a cat person, but Wolves are very cool. My son is way into them, he got one (adopted) for Yule. He sleeps with a little stuffed one...
Back from lunch and the garden, ready to work on this and I realized I'm still so, so stuck on the "di" 6,36 and the last 4,5 s. Any clues?
My head has been spinning with just one, GW!
di 6/36 is past tense of making a hole in the ground
get this for multitasking - babble, babble log, 3 IM conversations, including one which is real time role playing a horribly complicated story line. No wonder I haven't got any words recently!
i have a photo of Thor on my computer actually, GW; get me on the messenger, and i'll show you :-) he's gorgeous!!!
The last 3 di's differ in only last letter...
got the GWs
You are just telling me all this to make me jealous, Mikey
One of the last di 4/5's is an anagram of the first di 4/5, the leave off the last vowel and plural for the other
awwww; MissP.....what a *cute* little kitten!!! :-)
hmm, GW? hardly; he's not *my* wolf....and i hardly see him :-/
thanks
thanks for ignoring me , guys, no one ever gave me my clues I asked for twice. Not nice :-(
Got the echinicea recommendation Inge. thanks Yes Jera - I'll try to remember to turn my chat on. <g> Out the door ---- shhhhsooooooosssshhhhhh
Mikey -- as I said, I don't have access to messenger on my company computer -- but you can always email the pic to me-- My daughter will love it too!! :)
'st'uck.....lol; on 'st6,21' and 'st6,27' :-P
OK chic, what did you ask for???
Thanks, now there's still the 6,36 and one final 4,5
sorry Mickey I have neither one yet.
oh, ok GW; will do that later then, unless i see you on yahoo! :-)
look back at 12:50...
Sorry Chic, don't have em yet either.
Sorry, chic. I'm not up to the 'do' yet. If you still need them fifteen minutes from now, ask again. I should be there by then if I ever get the "di" finished.
OK, time for me to return to the real world -- I will check in tomorrow and probably later tonight ... much later--- Gramma is coming over to babysit so Kirsten and I can have a Date Night!! :)
That's greta GW... have fun! Merry Part!
Have fun, GW!
Afternoon, persons.
do 6/24 - def. do + ta 5/12, leave off the vowel at the end Plural for the 7.
Before I leave for good, chic do you have the do6 -- puppie?
y dont u lot try doin the words back wards
Hi Judi!
Merry part and (*Hugs for all*)
Yes GW
Thanks Bunny. I wrote it down and when I get to the "ta" I'll use your clue.
bbl, not feeling good....
evening all can anyone please give me a clue for the fa 7/44 and the io 6/21
The ta 5/12 is like slang for mentally ill, reta**ed, add third vowel to the end
Hi Ruthy! Hope you feel better soon, chic!
hi deutsch
I have neither of those, ruthy :(
io 6- they do this to salt
thanks for looking deutsch
fa 7/44 - not close but fa* away + a box has six ****s.
Sorry I had to check my st words. chic, you want the do+ french word for late, and the plural, I hope
ty bunnyvicious and bluephlox but i still dont get the io 6/21
io 6/21 - spell like the first four letter of the io 5/14 before it, the add letter for plural and vowel
ta 6/27?
Well, folks... I have 20 left but must go do something productive... my daughter is boiling eggs but other weird smells are coming from my kitchen... I'd best go pretend to be a responsible adult...
ty buunyvicious
Hi Dennis! You're lovin' the crack, aren't you?
LOL, bye Jera, good luck!!
ta 6/27 - add onto the ta 4 before it + you drink egg n** during the holidays
ta 6/27 - ta4/5 +2 letters (opp. of stop) don't ask me what it means!!
got to run -- lunch meeting in one hour!
Bye nan, have fun at your meeting!
It's a fish, go figure...
Guess I'm gonna jet to, lots of candy to make. Any last requests?
hiya
'ru4,7'.....help, anyone, please??? :-/
ru 4/7 rhymes with tu 4/7, what you breathe through in the hospital...
oh doh; i had that one already :-/ my mistake.....it's 'ru6,27' i'm stuck on now! :-P
Thanks Bynny and Diipnall, my ta list is done now, but I have to go do volunteer work at Orchestra Hall. Will try to finish after 10 p,m. Please all be there to give me clues....
ok; i'm not awake today/tonight at all :-/ i'll figure this one out, somehow!
thanks anyhow, bunnyvicious :-)
Bye Inge
ru6/ 27 - ru 4/ 7 minus last letter + 1st vowel + cross letter + 4th vowel
Oh, you can do it Mikey!! ru 4/7 - def. An unsophisticated country person...or... ru + a little yellow and black bug with a stinger (use one with one vowel instead of two)
Darnit, I'm in moron mode...
ru 6 - ru + you hit baseballs with a *** + loop
Allrighty, this is me leaving. See you guys tomorrow. gonna hype the kids up on sugar and take em to grandmas.
OOOh, what a fun plan, bunny! Have fun!
hi kids.
ok; been typing like mad, and i'm *really* stuck on the ''ru6,27' word now :-/
ru 6/27: Rhythmic flexibility within a phrase or measure; a relaxation of strict time.
Hi boreetos!
hey mikey, I think you get the prize for most indepth and lengthy bio page. good job.
ru 6/27: italian adverb ending...
boreetos, try reading it in German!
Mikey ru6/27 ru + *** in the belfry + round vowel
ah; just found it on my own, finally.....but thanks anyhow! :-D
anyone have a clue for the re7/36? (the first one)
mac - i have lived - dunno if it's first...
I have looked for that to no avail, macuser! *stands behind macuser waiting in the clue line*
re 7/36 -- plural of the word before it -- to put the worm on the fish hook again
Thanks hurshy, have that one... need the first one
thanks, ARB!
oh my goodness, thanks ARB! Figured it'd be an obivous one :/
obvious even
mac, i think you mispel'd "oblivious"
re 7/36 plural of re 6/24 - to put food on fishing line again!
lol, good one boreetos
:)
can anyone please give me a clue for the tu 4/6 and tu 5/14
which ones ruthy? there are two of each.
oh wait, nevermind, I'm dumb.
tu - pooh
boreetos, you're not dumb. You're babble blind like I am!
That should be tu=pooh. Sorry
ty sonipitts and boreetos
clue for io6/21 please?

Also what Carroll's momeraths do.
'io5,14' + 'io6,21' are *killing* me :-(
outgrabe is not quite there...
thanks sonipitts those compound words drive me crazy
de nada - it's the alternate spellings that always trip me up. :-)
Oh, out GRABE. Isn't that last four characters a kind of broccoli product, tho? Not in grid...
thanks mary. Mikey- io 6/21 - think of a type of salt
Ha! Finished those be's
yes i do believe rabe should count for broccoli rabe, but what do i know? i am a mere lowly slave of the grid.
And Trafe = Not kosher. Tho sometimes spelled Trayfe, the former is the usual spelling. Or is that in yiddish?

fe7/44 a word to describe a facial detail, someone with fine fe...

Karys, just job hunting really. Simple but frustrating : /
good afternoon (or good whatever applies) everyone!
you looking for something in particular Anj ?
hello helen...nite time here !!
Stidmama-I will - I can't begin to imagine.
Karys, training role or senior admin. I'm finding that 21 years experience is scaring potential employers away : /
Anj??
I can imagine Anj...too clever for the rest...a potential threat !!!
Sorry babe, missed that post. Yes, please do : )
what line you going for Anj ?
Karys, it's the salary that's the issue. They know they have to pay for that experience, but they run shy before asking ME what I would be happy with : /
go 6/24?
what do you do Anj ?
soni....big swelling ...usually on neck
Karys, training & development but I specialised in product specification rather than softer skills so I'm a technical trainer really.
I would be happy with $250,000 + a car,and 12 weeks annual leave and an assistant!! (and complete 24hour access to the stationary cupboard)
in what field Anj ?
curses! foiled again by alternate spellings. TY! :-)
ok MrP....now ...welcome to the real world !!!
Is there a clue for "st" 8/55?
Karys, Financial Services. Specialised in pensions and given the tax simplification that's just been passed I would have thought they would be screaming out for my line of work...
st 8/55 - strengthened
Mr P, I would be happy with anything just now, lol. Although unlimited expenses, full IT support, a psorty company car and hot & cold running PAs would be nice... } )
absolutley Anj...have you thought about teaching or (sorry) social work ?
This is a normal English word st 8/55. Nothing Scottish or medieval?
Anj! No sexy pa's for you! : D ...but can I have siggi if you get the company car?? } )
english, yes. heavily used, I think not.
hi mrp! how's the weather in NSW? I have been doing some reading (never knew folks in Australia before) and learned that there are mountains with snow! how come the tourist boards don't advertise that?
mr p - cant help with the salery, car, holidays or an assistant - but the stationary cupboard is another matter !!
Karys, don't you need a phd or something to teach? Social work is an option, but I prefer the business sector really.
Oh Anj... I have all that anyway!! But not the $250,000 paycheck! Wish my business was more supportive on THAT level!! LOL
i cant spell either :(
od 5?
Anj...as a carer...I have the services ( albeit occaisonal) of a 'social' worker...he works for social services here..but in afct he is much more...he sorts out all the things I should have and should be claiming etc..etc
ou 8/65 please...
Karys, i'm not even sure what I could claim, lol, let alone anyone else. : )
babe, I'm starting to feel invisible :' (
stid... tourist boards don't advertise the snow because we don't have the accomodation for all the tourists... it is a far cry from the US or Canada!! believe me!!
me neither Anj....thats why i need him !!
Lo, Siggi stays whatever : ) I will buy you a matching Siggi though : )
ou 8/65 opposite of "in" + saying a bad word (this was the previous clue)
faerie...ou....opp of in + when you use naughty words
compound word not used much, what you put on when it's winter
Merk - st 8/55 s + fecal tu 4/6 + he L*** to his wife about where he was last nite.
oh --that's too bad! because the info I saw about kosciuscko park in the mountains looked really neat with all the xc trails and all! there is so much history there that I never knew about -- makes the U.S. "old we 4" feel a little less peculiar.
should have said: st 8/55 = s + fecal tu 4/6 + he L*** to his wife about where he was last nite.
Woot! Can I have a red one babe?? } )
What a clue, cliffopa! the miracle is that i understood and followed it successfully. Thanks!
Thanks for the clues got it :)
that is truly scary merk :)
Lo, if you want...thing is with Coupe's you need a good one. The colour is secondary. Hey, where did you get that F/polisiekar track???
i got 39 to go....havn't used the lists yet...but going to have to now I think
we have history?? We have only been a colony since 1788!! The US outdoes the history bit! The Snowy Mountains are just beautiful! We took the kids for a surprise car trip and drove into the snow and they were gobsmacked!!
Not if you're a girl babe! ; ) Ummmm, where do you think?? lol : D I've got quite a few, want me to burn you some?
hi faeriekae - just popped in and read the news..sad
hi Templ;e :)
Lo, no need...I will hunt some down myself : )
Temple- I'm still in shock. I just knew something was wrong.
:-D well, 1788 is a fair piece of time... I have an ancestor (my great-great-grandfather's father) came to the U.S. -- his brother went on to Australia in the 1850s...
okay, but I promise I'll do it properly with iTunes this time, lol : D
hi TempleOwl...
hi temple : )
ou 7/52?

I gotta go to the bank before it closes it is now 5:10 her and the bank closes at 5:30 so I better get a move on it. bbl

i have an ou 7/36, but no 52...
I meant OUR kids....
later (((faeriekae)))
sonipitts - ou7/52 - opp. of in plus Ms Barrymore
karys?? are you seeing a girl with four pigtails?
TY!
ou7/52 word opp to in + dr4/9
I have not-convict blood in me LOL My great great something grandfather was the first governor of South Australia and he went over right at the start
hi ata : )
I suspect we all have a bit of "unconventionalist" blood in us somewhere! LOL certainly our ancestors had "wanderlust" -- they kept going west until they reached the next ocean!
Captain John Hindmarsh !!! Atalante!! that is cool!!
yes lola I am !
hey lola :) and what sad news about toes :(
LOL! Then no, it's not me, it's a drawing : )
thank you MrP :) My aunt still has a lot of original furniture and stuff in her house in the Flinders. Its the most amazing place!
The name Adelaide was chosen for the capital of South Australia, and Captain John Hindmarsh named it after the King of Englands wife.
good heavens MrP....just how many ou's are there !!!
any help for the last ta4/5 and fa4/8?
*pout* the closet I can claim fame is that Princess Di was descended from a child of the second wife of one of my ancestors... I descend from the surviving child of the first wife. But that's way back in the 1600s. most of my ancestors were just plain old hardworking (but literate) folks!
Anj, isn't ezio's angelsong special?? : )
ou4 x 2 ou5 x 1 ou6 x 1 ou7 x 2 ou8 x 1
mrp, you are a wealth of info *bows to helpful sage*
*Anj goes back to listen again* Sorry, my mind is on the words, not the music : /
Hey all, how's it going?
did they put the wagons in a circle whilst waiting for the cavalry stid ?
fa 4/8 to paint one's face (like stinky fa 4/7, with diff consonant on end)
Hi Jera : )

As I live & breathe... Anj & Lola... long time no see!
ty MrP :)
Hi Jera how are you
thanks for clues, all!
well -- i don't know if they had to do that, though the one-legged shoemaker in Iowa might have as he made he way from New York... my great-great grandfather was a marshal in Azusa California when it was very new -- and once he and the constable had to bring back some prospector's body from the hills -- I have a picture of them with the horses!
LOL Jera, i'm never too far away : )
well, the kids have emerged! better go get the breakfast going! nice chatting!
Abandoning us for sudoku, huh?
happy breakfasting! later mrp!
jera, lol! You okay? : )
Later, MrP!
Been a busy beaver today playing around with yahoo messenger... got my avatar up & everything!
stid... it's a family thing here...when we need help...the wagons have to circle while we wait for the calvalry !!
My son is playing with his caterpillars...
hi karys and everyone - my puter hiccuped and i was bounced out.
later MrP : )
but is he making them circle Jera ?
bye mr. p
I hate it when that happens, TempleOwl...
No, just giggling like a maniac as they crawl up his arms...
my puter was very upset on Suinday pm...wouldn't play at all.....turned out he was poorly !
*has the feeling she missed somethign about circling caterpillars*
ok then...giggling with him !!!
Anj, you got mail babe : ) xx

Hi mikey :)

Hello!!!! Trying to decide if I want to dive in or not? How's the water?
artlady...you slipped in without me seeing you...hello :)
Hi Mama, It's not bad.
I used to be shy and quiet. Learned to over-compensate. Never demure.
demur?? Ha! : D

hello mama...I have 36 to go...and at this rate I will still have 36 to go when it's bedtime !!

fe 8/60?
yw... di 7/36 made me nuts because of bad grammar I didn't think of it... if you didn't know past tense of dig was dug, you say di**ed
'ta5,12', anyone....pretty please? :-/
plural of fe 7/44 --- and now, our fe***** attraction!
FE7/44 - the main part. If 2 movies are playing, there is the 'b' movie and the main fe*****. FE8 is pl.
Wonderful clue! Thanks.
facial characteristics, gwenski :-)
charm, we must both want to go see a movie!
Ta5/12 - looks like another word for late (esp. in school) but with a different vowel ending.
'ta5,12', anyone....pretty please? :-/
Aww man, "tardis" isn't valid? No fair!
ta5/12 - pl of the ta4/5 meaning drawn tight, not slack.
lst ta 5/12 is a musical term, google: a direction to perform a passage slowly
I have a 3yo, haven't been to a movie in ... um ... 3 years!
thanks, charm; but i have *that* one already.....i mean the first 'ta5,12' word???
2nd ta 5/12, t+ female uncle minus n
Oh, charm, sorry.... but I kind of know...I date a 48 year old and we haven't been to a movie in a year!
You mean my husband won't take me to movies when the baby is older???? bleah....
uhm, weegee.....it's the FIRST 'first 'ta5,12' word i'm looking for? :-/
got both ta 5/12s now mickey?
'You have 4 word(s) left to find'.....oh man; i *have* to do this!!! :-P
ja, mickey, see my clue at 6:16... google that phrase
no, weegee; i've asked a few times for a clue for the FIRST 'ta5,12' word.....and so far only received hints for the second one, which i already had long ago :-/
charm, oh yes he will...until he becomes a grandfather!
i appreciate the thought however, so thank you! ;-)
MickeyInBerlin - are you sure you're looking for a ta5/12? There are only 2, and both clues are here.....
i'm back, anything exciting happened
yes, charm; very sure.....i'm still looking for the first 'ta5/12' word, and haven't seen a clue for it here yet? :-/
ok Mickey, lst ta: 3 letter word for thick black liquid + ** re me fa so la te **
maybe you're looking for the ta 5/14?
ok weegee; nm.....looking for your clue? :-/
Mickey - did you see my clue at 6:14?
Mikey try this - ta5/12 take the word meaning late, change the final letter used as a vowel and replace with zero!
mickey - ta 5 first four letters are the same as the first f word = fourth vowel
Does anyone have the stats for how many words are supposed to be in the puzzle? Thanks!
ahhhhh; thank you, weegee!!! :-) once i saw your clue at 6:16, i knew right away what it was!!!
212 words and 3020 pts today
staff 212 words
lol; thanks scatty and spellit, and charm.....appreciate you all trying to help me out there, too!!! :-)
Thanks!
staffer, click on lickety's link in on the right side of your screen for neat list
all: I have placed a message of condolence on BA for Hannah (ToeSock Monkey).
ok mikey, what've you got left? Let us have a go
fe7/44 and fe8/60 anyone?
Angel - what happened with TSM?
I'm finished so off to bed as it's gone midnight here - see you all tomorrow
peri, get fish ready..... our main fe***** attraction tonight is... (and plural)
night spellit. Hi musicmom!
Hi weegee - I'm kind of lurking. Need to feed the kids dinner and then I can sit down and play for real.
fe8/60 rhymes with All cr8 great and small and fe7 is singular
later then mom
ok, weegee, hit me with the fish, If I wasn't so impatient I would have found it myself, but it is my only fault 8) thanks
re - fe7 fe film plus the plural
ah, peri, impatiens is a virtue in the garden!
MM. Faeriekae had an e mail from TSM. She has had a miscarriage at 17 weeks.
omg; it says i still have 1 word left to find, yet i have everything filled in on the 'LicketySplit' page??? :-/
helloooo. could someone help me with the di 6/36?
cliffopa.....di 6/36, is past tense of 'unearth'
CLIFF!!!!!
poor grammatical past tense :-P
Oh Angel - that is terrible. I need to feed the kids and then I will add my message. Poor thing!!!!
cliffopa, bad grammar for past tense of dig
nutttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!
spellit, i live half hour away from you
hey cliff, i was thinking about you...at 5:30 this morning as i drove in to work.
Great minds think alike mickey :p
is that what woke me up! and i was trying to sleep in :(
how do you get on the message board
Mikey, try refreshing...if that doesn't work, for the word you're missing, which letter does it begin with?
by the way, thanks for those di clues babblers. got it now.
it may well worry you, that a stranger miles away would think of you at that time in the morning, but who knows what makes the gear turn around that time. any whoo, i figured out why i'm so fond of your name, would you care to know?
please please, why so fond?
why it reminds me of cheers, and cliff the postal guy. poor cliff, every time norm entered the bar he was greeted with a big hearty norm, but cliff, no one noticed really. i think from now on, i'm always going to give you a big cliff greeting - not norm, cliff!
mikey, did you do the wr5 word
MIKEY, have you finished yet
excellent nut! i loved cheers. espcially because there was a cliff. it happens to be part of my surname - my siblings and i were all called cliff, cliffy, or cliffie. a few called me clifford the big red dog when i dyed my hair red in high school. didn't bother me though....at least they noticed me :)
i'm a genius...
yes you are.
any clues needed before i go to bed
i try to be modest, but really, what's the point?
howdy folks. hope all are babbling away. i won't finish today as i have opening day to attend to in ninety minutes............
ok; stuck on my very last word.....the 2nd 'to4,4' word? :-/
exactly. some think that is being conceited - i call it being confident.
sure did, scatty; and after that.....'W'ell, i can 'rest' ;-)
2nd to4/4 - v. to carry around or n. the bag you sling over your shoulder to carry things around.
excellent interpretation cliffy, always knew you were a woman of strong understanding.
charm, the 2nd do4 is the same spellong as the to4
oh man; thanks Charm.....here's the silly thing.....i had that already typed in and checkmarked on Lidkety's page, but i hadn't added it to my list for the grid!!! :-P
well done Mikey
hi I need a clue for io6/21 please
fortunately i found a man who can appreciate that. it doesn't mean everything is smooth sailing, but at least i can be myself. (although friends say he married me because my birthday is the day after his - he will never forget it!)
'You have 0 word(s) left to find'.....i am DONE!!! :-D
mikey, old word to "to carry" or synonym for satchel
rosalind, think of a box of salt,
Way to go, Mikey!!! Good Job!
standing ovation for Mickey!
i believe men have married for less important reasons than that.
thanks, weegee; had that word a long time back, only i hadn't typed it in on the grid for some reason? :-P
i;m off to bed, screen going all fuzzy, see you all tomorrow, nighty night
thanks, Angelsong and weegee! :-)
rosalind, you'd think there'd be a z but it's an s here on the salt box

nite mickey
cliff, like radio only math...
weegee, thanks, that do7 is a stupid word
hey, nut! bye, mikey!

ra5/10 relation between things, usu. numbers. the ra*** of boys to girls in China is skewed.
peri, I agree! Some that should be included that aren't really tick me off even MORESO when words like this are OK..........some archaic foreign terms aaaaaaaaaarrgh!
i need some help please for the re5/16, 6/27, and 5/12 (i hate re)
okay I'm back and going to finish. 49 more words to go.
re 5/16 - think re + the thing you sit on. the next one is plural
to - I don't have any of those. Sorry:-((
OK, g'night everyone & good luck. If anyone needs clues, ask mickey because he FINISHED :p (for true tho mickey, you give really good clues) & on that note, TTFN

g'night mom & Hi & 'bye to hurshy....I'm gone
thanks cliff & hursch - downside of working backwards when there are re's! MM - now we both have them! : D 5/12?
by the thing you are sitting on, i did not mean chair, seat, stool, ottoman, etc. if you have the last bu 4/7 that should help some temple.
taking a break, may be back later
5/12 - cut last letter of 6 "to live in"
15 words left, almost all are b's. i'm hating all b's tonite.
hey 'nut, you there?
Yep I scooped those clues right up. Charlie Brown Easter is on. Ahhhhhh childhood memories.
why do there have to be re words?
go to go - bbl!
Will someone please take these jelly beans away from me - I'm going to make myself sick. No self-control I tell you.

* tips a few more jelly beans into mm's dish *
ou8= opposite of in + another word for cursing
MM--I can cuss more than you...
OH SHEESH!!! Thanks badcat~!
ou8 - opp. of in + cussing.
knutmeg, were you able to get any sleep? the last time i was on you seemed so exhausted.
Thanks charm Hi everyone!
you're welcome, musicmom. The other long ou's continue to elude me...
I had a lovely, lovely nap this afternoon once my husband got home from work. :-) Olivia has finally slept longer than an hour or so, too. So both of us are in better mindsets. Thanks. :-)
Knut that is very good to hear.
that is wonderful for the both of you.
ou7/36 - the trees, sky, etc. are ou*****, not in**** your house.

oh dear, i can't find the notebook i wrote all my words down on today!
the ou 7/36 is where we like to be on a gorgeous day like today. The other 7 I haven't figured yet.
fa7/44 - cartoon by gary larson
yikes nut!
fa7/44 is the opposite of near + s4/5
who's gary larson?
NUT - that's a tragedy.
thanks to both of you got it now
rosalind - the creator of fa7/44 (ornery grin)
famous cartoonist whose cartoons are usually about animals and are quirky and wry . . .
musicmom the ou 7/ is what the one gunslinger did to the other
big hugs jeffer. thanks!
yw
i'm pleased to see that the board contains both boobies and gas
Yep bonkler - we're playing the jr. high version today
zero words left to find. i love that line. i am done!
thanks jeffer
Bravo Cliff!!!
evening all how goes it? Doesn't look good from this end, only on the b's and already i am stumped. Might be one of those don't finish puzzles tonight
It isn't too terrible sheryl. lots of words that twist and turn in different directions though.
hi sheryl. i've taken to working backwards on the list. of course, my mother said i was always doing things backwards as a kid.
I like to work backwards - it keeps me from having to scroll down.
should i stop and go to the end? Only problem there is i run into those drated re's which i sooooooooooo love
re's were not too bad today. and i haaaaaaate re's.
any clues for the one and only "c" word...sheesh..
Actually today I have worked all over the board. That usually happens when I can't just sit down and play because I pick up clues on and off all the time
have to go tuck Hannah in. Brb.
misshoax the ci word --- a fluid filled benign tumor (many women have them on their ovaries)
thanks...but..it isn't usually spelled that way...this game is odd.
i know it isn't spelled that way but if you misspell it you have tlolhe ci word -- i don't give very good clues
any clue for the ST8? I have to go and would like to at least get the 8 words
no! big thanks to you! the clue was great! i just find the dictionary spellings in babble are sometimes very peculiar. i very much appreciate your clue.
that ci word is actually something else, i looked it up in the dictionary haha
i mean, the meaning of it
here is the google definition of the ci word --- why just the other day I went to the store looking for one of these!! **** A wicker receptacle used in ancient Rome for carrying sacred utensils in a procession.
any help with the ai?
ok nevermind
well, gotta go watch a movie with my son. < 24 hrs before he goes off to the usaf. i'm holding up pretty good so far.
st8 -- if you have a rickety ladder and you prop it against something you have st8 it.
Oh Cliff. Give him a big sloppy mama hug. I'll be praying for you all.
Hey Clif...enjoy and be proud. You must have raised one heckuva child!
sorry MM but that went right over my head as I cannot seem to make any word work with that clue.

Uhm boots are st**** - y+i +past tense
i got it when i moved my chair and looked again. TYVM MM and now I shall quit with a mere 54 words to find. I need to meet my mum at the baseball game in an hour. I think I would rather finish this puzzle or at least try to. Am I sick or what?

I think batdog should be a word

Hey gang - need the first ra. ra 6/24 please.

ra 6/24 - now i know it's there, i'll look for it!
thanks anyway Music. Did you hear Toes e-mailed me :(
Yes = Angel told me. Very very sad news. I feel so bad for her.

there you go Hurshy if you find it let me know please :)
I pray Capone is being compassionate to her.
oh, that i had.
Yeah - I can't begin to imagine...
or ra 6/18 --- a drunk god? (ra)
anyone around who likes to play guess what hurshy is missing?
I'll try hurshy. We're watching a movie so I might be distracted.
um, a jetpack for the pickle in your icon, hurshy?
well start with...which F would i be most likely to have overlooked?
still looking for ou 7/52 --- ou 8 is " cuss more than you" --- does ou 7/52 mean the same thing?
sorry nan - see told you I was distracted. The winning artist ou7 the others. (the gunslinger ou7 his opponent)
ou7/52 starts the same as the 8...gunslinger
Hurshy I thought they were all pretty common other than fa 4/8 , 6/33 and 7/44
Music - he is. He is really hurting right along with her. He did tell me he was in great pain just yesterday I believe and I thought he was talking about his gout and I told him to see a doctor and he replyed that his ankles were doing better it something else that he did not want to discuss in Babble. So I knew right away she must be having problems. I e-mailed her today and bless her heart she said today was the first day she had even turned her computer on. And she was going back to the doctor this afternoon because she is still having a lot of bleeding.
6/33 that's the one
fa6/33 maybe? Hurshy
ou 7/52 + cross letter + dr 4/9
Oh faerie --- I feel terrible for them. I wish I were closer.
So do I...
thank you , everyone
hmmm... clue on that fa 6/33?
fa 4/8 past tense.
thats for you Hurshy
hand me the pollock. (i also feel for TSM and capone...i'm just tired and sick and need to finish so i'm not able to say much right now, hope i don't seem unfeeling)
now, would anyone like to guess what G i might overlook? :)
No Hurshy - we understand being tired and being sick.
No problem hurshy. Sorry you are under the weather.
You got the flu, Hurshy?
just a cold
go 6/30 maybe there are 2 of them
Musicmom -- please pass along my good wishes to tsm.
go 6/24?
i have one go 6/24 and one go 6/30 (since i am missing only one odds are it's not part of a combo)
go 6/30: add a vowel to the 5/18
european spelling of a thyroid condition
other go 6/30 is a plural
5 points to cybernan and 5 to faerie!
cnan - angel started a condolence at bab anon. I haven't added mine yet.

Hard veggie used in fall decorative arrangements -- can also be used to make maracas
Loved National Treasure. I'm down to four now. I'm missing a b word but I'm not sure which.
Hey everybody. BGL is my little sister:-)
se x 5, si x 2, st x 12, sw x 3
You're way far ahead of me! Although, I'm not "pro" so it doesn't matter how much I get done.
Hi BGL
aha! sw
I still think you should go pro. Look at our cool icons<G> You know you want an icon
It's all Beth's fault I'm an addict. She sent me the link.
all sw's are 5/18's -- one has a double vowel
ty cnan
But then I actually have to finish a puzzle! I do have a life ya know.
You don't ever have to finish. Nobody will hold a gun to your head.
ok now i'll give you ones with better odds: 3 B's 5 D's 3 R's 3 T's
Better go make some supper -- back at the flip :)
bye cnan.
HAH! Got me a cool icon!
On the b's a little b_____ told me -- different first vowel than usual.
Nice one Jera.
Who's that in your icon, MM?
hi just trying this out...strongly considering getting a list..lol...do points just accumulate every time you play?
Just some little girl I found on the web. I'm afraid of motorcycles<G> I thought she was cute
sadly, i have that one cnan
Ah, I thought it might be one of your kids
Hey Beth - you still here? I can give you clues so you get more words than Josh.
if people do not enjoy this game, i can get the list. :) i only offer it bc some people like to play (like me and macuser)
Okay, I thought it was H in you icon! Stupid aunt! :)
Neither of my girls has ever had a trike.
back to finish, everyone! hi!
It could have been -- but she went right to Sarah's big girl bike and skipped the trike stage.
Hey to
Just playing for fun tonight. I really think a bubble bath is calling. My back's been bothering me again.
You better tubble then. Your back needs to be healthy so we can hike in a few weeks.
back to try to finish!
Gwyd's getting a Big Wheel as soon as the weather is decent enough for Sprite's birthday party...
Hike to the stores that is! It's gotta get better so I can golf on Monday! I'm outta here. Talk to ya later.
*likes this idea of a bubble bath helping a bad back*
I'm sorry Hurshy. I usually love that game. I'm just distracted tonight.
I'll talk to you later. Shhhhhh I'm not really playing up the shopping thing yet<g>
'sok mm. i'm just gonna use the list now. 14 to go isn't so bad.
hey mr. p!
Musicmom... when are you gonna approve my yahoo messenger add request?
Sorry Jera. I left right after I sent you my name. I'm going to go do it right now because......drumroll please......... I'm finished.
guys - my puter is going wonky...i'm going to try to hide the log and just type for a while - c u later!
yay musicmom! and thanks for earlier clues!
musicmom gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*

Huzzah for MusicMom!! *sweeps her up in happy dance of doneness*
think forgetful old person, hurshy
that'd be me then :) how about second re 6/24?
You are accepted Jera.
YAY musicmom! i just got back... 56 words to go...
You can do it, stidmama!!
I'll try to help Stid, but I have failed hurshy miserably tonight. Too many distractions.
MM, did you find the thread for TSM on BA?
you didn't fail me, mm, don't be silly. i'm on my last word so i am ok.
I was just headed over there Angel. Finished the grid and accepted Jera's invitation on messenger
it's okay -- I am not completely uptight about finishing tonight. I spent hours ou 7 in the garden and feel very satisfied with my day. :-)
I have spent practically the whole day on the puter, chatting & playing here... I've been very, very bad
done and done
CONGRATULATIONS HURSHY!!!
thank you faerie :)
Found it Angel. Thanks
BRAVO HURSHY!!!
thank you and good night babblers
Oh Jera - I need a day like that. I haven't had a pj day in ages.
Good night Hurshy --- take care of that cold.
Good Night Hurshy Sweet Dreams :)
good night hurshy! YAY hurshy!
Hello everyone!
Hi Douglas :)
Hi douglas
I have four words...how many do I have to go?
208 more
you have 208 words left to find.
208 douglas
Welcome to the insanity BGL! Finish a puzzle? Hope I live to do that. Have been playing for almost 2 years now and have yet to complete one. I think I have a life away from this! I only compete with myself and can't remember the last time I checked my stats. Paid my "pro" money & takes my chances--at least now I know which squares in the grid are used to start words! Before that it was really challenging trying to use letters for which there were no words! As if you need more of a challenge with this *#@%! game! Enjoy!
most of them begin with re no doubt...
Well part of the reason I was so inactive most of the day was my brief but intense period of going & doing... helped the Easter Bunny today, which is always hard on me...
does anyone have or has anyone seen clues for the di6/36 and di5/14?
I just got a word that describes what happened to my hope when I noticed there were 2 hours left...
not too many Douglas. Jera - the EB needs lots of help here this year. Sarah's b-day is Friday, Greg is Sunday and I'm next Fridays. Birthdays are overshadowing baskets. Fortunately Greg's mom is doing an egg hunt for the kids.
di 6/36 I went out today and di+double letter+past tense in the garden.
di 6/36: an unusual way to say something was dug.
poor douglas
ty! and the 5/14?
hi douglas -- the hopeful thing for you is that at this time of day so many people have finished, there are bound to be clues for everything! :-)
I have just tripled the number of words I have...all I have to do is do that three more times, and I'm more than there!
LoL Douglas
dinner time BBL!
I just got a ti word that I didn't expect to be in the dictionary...
bye stid I'm going too everyone. Too hard to watch the movie and clue at the same time.
Later Stidmama
Good Night Music - enjoy the movie.
bye stid...
bye stid, mm!
I wanted to do a big area-wide egg hunt for the Girl Scouts with my big back yard... but the troop just wanted it for themselves... better goodies that way I bet they figure...
Jera - they are probably right. We had a big SU egg hunt this past Sunday. One of the cadettes put it together for her leadership award.
di5/14 and tr5/18 clues, please?
to di5/14 - think batteries. di+poem
All I want is $.01 for each time I've heard it said that Thomas Jefferson was a de 5/12
tr 5/18 rhymes with taming of the shrew plural.
Well I am back. 23 words to go. someone asked for re 6/24, which I also need, but there came no clue. Please?
A stiff flaring collar wired to stand up at the back of the head, worn by men and women in the 16th and early 17th century. (re6/24)
thanks musicmom...!
Oh! Jedi Master! You seek io 4/4! You know him? Take you to him I will!
Thanks MM, got it. how about st 6/27?
rhymes with moose lo5 (club for men)
anyone have clues for the ti, 5 and 6??
I know have 2*2*2*2*2 words, only 2 doublings and change left...
Oops there are two st 6/27 . How about the second one?
Nat - ti5 & 6 = French for 'title' and its plural.
ti5 1. Concentration of a substance in solution or the strength of such a substance determined by titration. 2. The minimum volume needed to cause a particular result in titration.
And all will fade to silver glass A light on the water Gray ships pass...
To attack (ground troops, for example) with a machine gun or cannon from a low-flying aircraft. st6/27
Thanks musicmom
Inge - 2nd st6/27 - what low-flying aircraft did in WW2.
Apple 1 rules!
thanks jac!
y/w, Nat.
Al Gore shouted "He [President Bush] betrayed this country! He played on our fe 5/16!"
Okay that's it... I actually nodded off at the 'outer... time for bed! Nite all! *poof*
great clue, douglas
okay, back and working on the last three di 4/5s... mumble mumble
Night Jera I'm outta here also. Good night Babblers.
nite faeriekae. Pleasant dreams.
Does anyone remember the "hideously named jam" sketch from Saturday Night Live?
night Jera, Faeriekae! see you tomorrow!
night, jera! night, faeriekae!
Stid - Not sure if you know the old musical 'South Pacific' but if you do, think of the song the 2 children sang in it for those last 3 'di' words. The titles of the song literally translates as 'Say to me' from the French. Hope that helps.
good night Jera and faeriekay
Goodnight Jera & Faerie.
thanks Jacula! good clue! (i love old musicals)
do ursines defecate in deciduous regions?
TY MM I finally got it. A bit slow at this end. How about to 6/33 and to 5/10?
Douglas - LOL.
to6/33 same as do6/36
inge, the to 6/33 -- sometimes a switch is called a tog***. Take off the last two letters and add past tense ending.
douglas we live in high desert and believe me, ursines defacate in non-deciduous regions too :)
Stid - y/w. S/P is one of my faves, closely followed by 'Calamity Jane' and 'The Sound of Music'. How about you?
hi, jacs! : ) i am done - but too tired to stay. see you tomorrow everyone!
'nite templeowl. Sleep in peace
I want fatuous to be in the grid...I had no idea so many words started with f
Ch - Oh yuck! I'd hate to clean the kids' shoes after they'd stepped in that. Doggy do's is bad enough!
fe8 hints ne one?
Hi & 'bye, Temple. Sleep well.
jacs - no one recoognized my vincent black lightning '52! : (
jacula, one of the rural counties here is considered "Dairy capitol of Idaho" and the local saying is, "Welcome to Jerome County. Watch your step!"
I have three fe words, but you will have to pay a small charge for one of them...
It's a lovely bike, Temple. Be proud of it. x
lol ch!
I really like "Into the Woods" by sondheim -- it's weird and compelling; Phantom (I actually saw it when it was in Portland, OR) was beautifully staged; Almost anything with lyrics by Lorenz Hart or Irving Berlin (old-fashioned and corny, but sweet)...; and of course Richard Rodgers' music is so singable that nearly anything he wrote is good by me! I also like Gershwin, but his intervals are harder for me to get...
CH - not sure whether to say LOL or YUCK!
freck, fe8, if you are watching amovie they say and now our fe***** presentation, make it plural for the 8
what do u mean by charge douglas?
good night, TempleOwl!
i love richard thompson if u see babbler, plese aask her for a summer of love theme day? and psychedelic day?
That was a clue, Freckle : )
oooh, stidmama, you named one of my all time favorites - Into the Woods, although Sondheim's Passion is tops. We love all musicals.
O:(
i love musicals...except for all that singing and dancing
ba6/30 hints?
And "Light in the Piazza" ... and "Wicked" are two of the most recent favorites. Still love the old ones, though.
freckle, I gave you a clue
L O L bonkler!
I don't get to many/any stage shows these days... time and money :-( and distance -- but there are some videos... I just love Kevin Kline in the version of Pirates of Penzance he did with Linda Ronstadt!
?? Kevin Kline? I didn't see that one -- I will rent it. Thanks, can't believe I missed that (shaking head in puzzlement)
does ne one have da6/30? hints plz:)
past tense of ba4/7
Dave Barry said one of the words is the greatest invention in the history of mankind...
I'm more than 25% of the way now, with 56 words. Now I need a little less than two doublings...
DA 6/30?!! I don't have a da 6/30 and I show zero words left. What's that? Is there an extra Dr. God missed today?
oh I see, I think frecle meant BA 6/30... whew.
All the world is God's own field, Fruit unto his praise to yield Wheat and ta 5/10 together sown Unto joy or sorrow grown
From hell's heart I st 4/6 at thee!
Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan -- good quote, Douglas.
any clues for the 2 au 5/12s?
I'm having a little trouble with ou7:(
TY Natl T I used it. How about fa 6/30?
<geek>But more originally from Moby Dick. Khan used a lot of lines from Moby Dick in that movie. He said that line when he was starting the Genesis device...</geek>
take au4/5 --- for one, change the last vowel to 2nd vowel and pluralize... for other, add 2nd vowel.
my garden is ou 7 my house, in the op** air, not in
ou 7- think of two cowboys who are going to shoot one another...past tense
omgosh, seriously doug? Wow, didn't know the original source. Great trivia!
TSM--Know it's late, but sorry to read about your terrible loss. Heartfelt hugs to you ,TSM, and all who share with you. Peace.
Do you recall when Khan said "He tasks me...?" That was from Moby Dick. I'm momentarily up on my Moby Dick trivia because the final trivia question in the Ultimate Coffeehouse Crossword Challenge was "Who was Captain Ahab's first mate in 'Moby Dick?'"
One of my grandfathers was called Ahab. He was a sailor, too.
inge---fa 6/ 30 is past tense of the 4/8
I have 2*2*2*2*2*2 words! Woo-hoo! I have observed that people in the UK use Woot! as an exclamation...
Douglas, I just shared your insight with my beloved, also a hard core Star Trek fan, and we are both amazed... and plan to read Moby Dick now. Thanks!
mom23: Angelsong set up a thing at BA so people can leave notes for TSM... http://p105.ezboard.co m/fbabblersanonymousfrm2.showM essage?topicID=54.topic
YAY Douglas!
Woot is also good computer geek speak on the muds (and I am not explaining what muds are for the uniformed)
I believe a Star Trek TOS episod was titled "Whom Go 4/7 Destroy"
Can I get help with the au words? I for the "colors around your body" one, but that is the only one I am familiar with
stid--thanks for letting me know. I'll post there.
dino: try a few creative plurals
Dino - and don't forget the car.
ahhhh! that's the one I was missing - duh ;) thanks!
You believe correctly, douglas. :)
thanks ch1212
Prince has a new song where he sings about workin' up a black sw 5/18
do 6/24?
does anyone have ba 6/30?
bleh.
ba 6/30 - armoured, as in a horse
ba 6/30 #2 = in the manner of Will Shakespeare
I just got the ba 6/30, but it was such a lucky guess...ba 4/7 is a prefix
hi hollybug, wassup, all -- was just checking off which words I have on my list... now I can ask for clues intelligently! or at least more informedly!
thanks all!
stidmama, I couldn't get the link to work you kindly typed out, but did find it... if anyone is interested, just click on Babblers Anonymous link from the right on this page, and then click on "General" then on the topic Condolences for TSM...
hi hi. How is everyone?
tired, want to finish...how are you?
sonipitts, do 6/24 -- do + ta5/12 minus the last letter.
All is well here, Hollybug, except that I have 139 words left to find...
hehe. I have 121. So all is well. :o)
sonipitts, and then plural for the do7/36
ch1212, thanks big time - those were the last two and I've been tearing hair on them all day! Whew! All done.
CONGRATS SONIPITT!!!!!
YAY sonipitt!
sonipitts, I bow to your most excellent awesomeness!
gj sonipitts!
The letters seem to be smushing together, and everything I try is either not a word, or something I already have...murmul murmul murmul...
Where are you from, Doug sir...?
if anyone want to help me out, I could use some clues for the first 5 re's on the list (the 5, 6's and 7's)
I want goiter and idiot to be in the grid...
St. Paul, Minnesota
na na na na na na na na, bat dog!
I see. How old are you? :o)
48...bat dog?
It should be a word. That's all I'm saying. :o)
oh, I get it...yes indeed!
I should sleep sometime.
sometime.
I'm absolutely going to class tomorrow. Oh yes.
You don't understand, if you're interested in sleeping, you're in the wrong place...
What class are you taking, Hollybug?
I'm aware.
The grid will flip and I will be in for another hour... at least.
I'm taking a Logic Class... a Special Event Management Class... a Psychopharmacology class... and I'm doing an internship.
st 6/21 or 27? tired and desperate..
special event as in "psychotic episode?"
st6/21--add vowel at end of st5 word just above
um, i think i'm missing the st 5 too :(
st6/27 rhymes with do5/18
Fundraisers, etc.
ok then you need st5/12, which is an anagram of to5/12
Though your rendition is close to accurate of most events that require the type of planning I am learning to do. It's an elective, however. My major is Sociology.
I'm taking it because I want to work for non-profits... and I think that having the ability to organise fundraisers and events might be a good resume builder.
uneaixoise- thank you SO much. i've been struggling with that one for hours!
yw!
I can see that a sociology major could come in very handy regarding identifying emerging cultural trends.
In reality, I'm just bad at math and science... and I don't want to take a bunch of writing classes. :oP
I want Geddy (Lee), the bass player from Rush, to be in the grid...
But you have to know a little statistics, do you not?
There was a NYT crossword where the clue was "Deal in sweet tu 6/27?" and the answer was "TRAFFIC YAMS"
I do, indeed. I toughed it through sociological stats... and I kicked some statistical tail. yay Holly.
okay, down to my final 8, fading fast... ta 4/7 and the following 5/12 please?
Good for you!
ta 4/7. normally spelled with 'oo'
lol. Thanks? I'm almost done though... so I'm excited. I've actually found my dream job, and I've been encouraged to apply many times by the powers that be... so... it would be great.
tu 4/6 was a word I wasn't expecting...
24 words left, I really hope I can get this, I have only gotten like 5 clues all day
It's not every day that you're invited to apply for your dream job...
I've noticed that some words are the reversal of some other words...
thanks, abe! that one always throws me!
last one... ra 6/24...
actually... rE 6/24 (but who's tired?)
the second one, I got the wormy one.
Whaddya mean restab isn't a word?
dun dun dun DONE!
***** fireworks for stidmama *****
thank you douglas... any way i can help confuse the rest of youse guys?
YEAHHHH Stidmama!
Rusty Staub was a player for the Mets and Expos...In Canada, they called him Le Grand Orange for his bright red hair...Staub is in the grid...
thanks ch1212 -- I only just figured out your "Texas Harley" LOL giggle giggle giggle
all that is left are the darn T's
I don't need your help in that department, I can be quite confused without any help whatsoever!
well, let's darn the Ts then -- I'm already wearing darned socks! *no, really folks! my favorite pair and i wasn't going to throw them away*
hello hinters! need re6/24 not the wormy one and st 6/27 the second one please
re 6/24 is just like ru 6/27 with the obvious change...
st 6/27: what fighter planes do to ground troops (not bombs, using the guns!)
is that like an italian discount? ty
ty stidmama got both
ok stid, how about a clue for the first ta 5/12?
yw -- :-)
11 words to go
ta 5/12 is stupid-dumb: the thing Dr Who travels in - is + round vowel
go Nat, go!

I monkey typed it so not sure how much help I will be, I don't know what it means but st+ you float on a **** -the t + 2nd vowel

weather permitting, i live in the greenhouse, come the winter isit and paint or make cards for the family and friends, i love the outdoors, hate being kept in
that's cute stid!
Need a clue for io6/21
Hi smiley face
yes, though I am not much of a foul-weather person -- when it rains, or is too cold (less than about 13), I stay indoors! Luckily, most of the time our weather is pretty decent!
it's what they do to salt, but use an s not a z
io 6/21: if salt has a particular element added (used to avoid go 7/36), it is io****d [british spelling]
Thanks all got it
well, i have a 12 hour day of work tomorrow, so I better be off for the night, good luck on the flip everyone!
our weather is all over the place, one minute t-shirts are out then jumpers again, we had sun here yesterday and 2 hours down the road they had a snow blizzard, about three foot of snow
good night, Nat! see you tomorrow!
ashley???
I like the old days when spring, summer, Autumn and winter came at the proper time of year, you knew where you stould
oh my! that's awfully hard to garden in... usually our weather is quite predictable and temperate, but this last winter even we had a rather cold snap - went below freezing several times in a row!
wuddup kal
thats why my hubby bought me a greenhouse with a heater in it, i can still go out and potter
it seems that weather in the States has been more variable/unpredictable also.
we have glass windows to make a greenhouse, but haven't got the money to buy wood for framing (the windows were salvaged)
tryna find sum words in here
okay, see you on the other side!
we used to be able to put the plants out at the end of Feb, mid March at the latest, its now more like end of April
