LeslieAnn - love the tree! Is that the theme today?
oh i ALMOST won :)
Harp! My heart sings to see you!
where were you-all hiding?
There, there, LA - have some M&M's! mmmmm, chocolate....
it's Earth Day.
Stid, for a moment there I thought you got left behind.
HAPPY EARTH DAY! my favorite celebration of the year...
i was trying to win the flip! thanks for the choco, jb
Morning all. Can anyone tell poor, broke me the word count?
Oh, right! Been recently so focused on work and family issues that I've lost track of many Babble things.
hard to leave me behind, JB! LOL
only 61 words today
61 words.
*yucky face* I can see why...thanks...
61? hmmm. doesn't look like too friendly a grid... what do you more experienced players think?
Good morning all. JBs, did you know "Pig Day" is coming up next week? Your icon will be perfect.
do it, stid, do it!
flip
Here, Stidmama, I saved you some M& M& M& M& M's. H elp me eat them before I finish the rest of the bag!

*happy dance with friends who have chocolate*
refresh if you don't see a LIvia picture, just changed my icon back
bbnaz, how's the mare today? how's the dog? how's you?
Uh, okay, ch1212! You're right, it does look like a pig...but it's actually a dancing cat with a tiny tutu (head is flung to the right). Leftover from Dance day a few weeks ago.
okay....cannot see clearly...too much fun at dinner. going to watch some netflix but know that I will be back and will attempt to finish this puzzle also.
Have fun, and here's some M&M's to go, bbnaz! I'll see you later.
later bbnaz!
AAAAhhhhhhh ... I see it now, JBs -- still, could work :)
Virtual chocolate is so much fun to share, huh, Stid? But I must to bed, much to do in the morning.
okay, i'm gonna go fer it! *splash*
stid....... the mare (Iris) is doing FANTASTIC. she is walking and complaining about not enough food (must reintroduce slowly) and the filly (Luna) is even better. God is very very good. The dog (Res, as he was rescued from an Indian reservation) is still recovering. His leg is massive but he shouldn't suffer any tissue loss nor the leg. Me? Heck, I have finished (with tremendous help) the last two puzzles! I am very good.
r 6/21
bbnaz, you're my current hero! I haven't finished a puzzle for ages (months at least)!
oh i see it now, kept trying to make racing work
To quote Hans Solo ... I have a bad feeling about this. Been typing for over 5 minutes and only 10 words.
Thanks, c-nan! Got it.
i know, 15 from that c? hardly seems possible.
ditto, ch
i have 5 words, but i chatted for a while... this is gonna be yucky
Great, it'll take Spanish, but not Navaho. Whassup widdat?
And before I really get into the grid, I will quote the most used line in the movies: "Let's get out of here!" So, I'm going, but I bequeath the M&M's to Stidmama to share out - don't get your keyboards sticky... Good night!
soni -- what navaho word did you find, and what does it mean? in case i'm ever in navaho country...
Oops...make that Navajo.
later JB! will take GOOD care of the M&Ms for you! ;-)
hmm...18 words so far, and most i don't know
stid - hozho. Literally 'walking in beauty', but it really means far more. See my article: http://ezinearticles.com/?id=3 603
ty soni - what a great expression for earthday!
purely coinkidinky - I' perpetually on something like Indian time and rarely know what day it is. :-)
Hmmm...sorry for the bad article link. Should be http://tinyurl.com/mfmfo
22 so far and I'm dragging...
thanks, soni, was just trying to figure out if it was me or... this time of night, I never quite know what's going on! :-)
seriously, ch. this is hard.
Not much better at 27. Half my words have been pure monkeytype.
Nah, stid, I grabbed a truncated link. The full one was too long, so I tinied it.
g 6/24
Hey...I found Shamu!
hey all -- this article is GOOD! soni, you have real talent. Thank you for sharing :-) ((hug))
Ta, Stid! It's what I do. Write, coach, Babble. You know, the basics. :-D
Noticed, though, that I did the Navajo with an "H" thing in that article too. Gotta fix that.
that's what this grid is; a lot of ho 5/16!
Soni, by "it takes spanish, but not navajo," do you mean 'hora?' It's also the name of a dance, you know. :P I was looking all over for Shamu ... until I realized what you meant and I already had it :P
Soni...do you mind if I include a link to your article in the Babblers' Homepages section of the resource page?
r13, please don't post words in the log.
up to 20...
A 6/21
So sorry, LeslieAnn. I realized my faux pas after clicking 'post' *hides face*
chic ae 4 before it plus the first two letters for frozen water
lol, don't worry, we've all done it :)
AngelSong - Gee, do I mind link backs from highly populated sites full of crazy word people. Lemme think about it.... Do I have to pay you? :-D
who you callin crazy?
25 left for tomorrow -- good night all :)
Soni...only if you want to :)
...ok, you're right. :)
Night cybernan
My kinda of crazy, that is. Like, crazy smart and crazy funny. :-P
good night nan -- I have found 25!
the grid also doesn't take yanni. i know, i know, proper noun.
all done!
LeslieAnn -- you know that we are much to sensitive to call a real crazy person crazy -- so when we say crazy, we obviously don't mean you! ;-)
Leigh not asking for clues calling out the large # words. Thanx, anyway
cying.... done? with the grid?? you are a mastermind!
cying are you serious? You finished? If so, hats off to you!
I've only found 17. Since that's my 2nd most lucky number, and since it's my bedtime, I'll call it a night (which it is). t/c all
good night r13!
Oh. Sorry. I'm tired. =/
'nite r13 ... I'm about ready to stop at 31 for tonight.
don't worry it got it for me!
leigh -- I needed the clue -- it worked! :-)
good night r13!
:-) no, just a shorter list today, no weird or longish words
ch1212 31 is my lucky number backwards :P
i can help with clues if anyone would like.
wow, congrats cying. i bow to your babble expertise.
Gah...who scrambled this grid? Torquemada?
YAY cying! *stops for a moment in amazement*
how about just the first two letters and score for the 3rd 6? we have r and a.
go 5/14 is something I've never heard of and probably will never see ever again in my life.
go 6 / 24 :-) leighperfect: "and living like a king in pata*****"
woot, done with 6's. calling it a night. see you soon, folks.
cying- whatever you say. =) i take your word for it
good night LeslieAnn!
Soni, your link is up :)
leighperfect: *hint* the quote is from someone named "dread pirate roberts"
Ta, Angel. Always nice to see my babies being passed around. :-D
Stuck at 32, methinks.
do you have the crying veggie?
Lots of Babble words in the grid today. I was hoping for a larger grid :)
pass the fish, please !
that got me to 31...
make mine a veggie fish. :-D
night night!
good night, cying! thanks for the clues!
Now I'm at 56 and trying to decide if I go to bed now or finish it up... if I go to bed now I'll have some babble for tomorrow :) Any clues before I go?
ch -- I still don't have the go 6.... and monkey typing isn't doing it for me.
co 4/6 and the co 5 after it?
stidmama, that's one of the 5 I don't have yet :(
got the co 4/6
oh well -- worth a try... :-)
go 6/24 - uses the stinky veggie
co 4/6 -- if you were going to put on a party with a friend you would be co**sts ... drop the last 3 letters. The co 4/5 that comes after (with another word inbetween) is singular loose change
*more fish flying about* always the ones i didn't try! :-)
Thanks leighperfect!
ch- thanks but i meant the co 5/18 is what i needed. i should have been more clear! my bad..
oh the co 5/18 is hilarious! If you were pigs and you were going to throw a party :) you would be co***s...
ch- thanks, that is pretty cute!
LOL! Sounds like some roomates I've had!

Night ch, thanks for the help
good night, ch! blueskies -- when something is so obvious that a child knows about it (like tuna fish)... ? it's a babble thing
Mmmmm...babblefish. Translating the ordinary into the obvious.

That's all my little crossed eyes can take tonite. I'm out. Toodles one and all.

I've just started - what's the opinion on the grid?
got yr emails yesterday Haz - thanks!
grid's too little for a Saturday, but prob just as well as have lots to do today.
I realised that the initial error was my failure to take down the right address - glad it's sorted!
Have you finished?
thats mke done i ave been on this 4 10 mins anfdi ave done
not quite still got 11 to find and have resorted to the list a little while back.
Hannah - we're going to enter you in a speed contest one of these days! Congratulations. The old tortoises will just keep plodding along.....
So off to the grid I go. DON'T set your watches...
HAve fun HAz, I'm only here til 9.30 and then must be off but will catch up later Im sure :)
Thanks FMitch - have a good day!
ok then!! that was challenging and quick too!
Congratulations MrP - some strange words today!
good morning everyone! :)
Good morning, Bex. Don't tell anyone I'm here - I'm supposed to be doing constructive things...
Hi Ho, Hi ho! It's off to grid we go. I thought it might be an easy one, but I've just read that there are some strange words in it?
There are some old favourite babble words and some new ones as well. Didn't the Queen look lovely yesterday?
Queen looked great and I've finished already! Must be a good day
One more h to find and I'll be done too....
If I could look as good as her in seven years time.....!
But the lovely thing is that she doesn't look artificially young - no plastic surgery!
sorry! had to run away for a few minutes!! Hello everyone!
for goodness sake. whoever heard of a yl4/7 word?
bex, haz, exwren, spellit you wanna see something extreeeeemely funny!?
yes!!!
Ex-wren - Stephen Hawking and his cronies! It's a word to do with the big bang theory! (An anagram of an equally unlikely el4/7)
Go ahead MrP!
I came across this after chatting about vegan food! This is perfect... you have to read the whole thing.. the recipe and the comments!! remember to take out the spaces or it won't work! http://vegweb.com/ind ex.php?topic=6137.0
MrP - it gives the term 'experimental cooking' a whole new meaning, doesn't it?
And now I must go - thanks for the laugh MrP and have a good day everyone.
Give me a good beef stew any day mrp
what the??? that is scary!! who the hell is this sharla and what planet are they living on!! I am laughing hard though... hoping it is a joke on the other hand!!
Good morning everyone! Off to a meditation retreat today, so can only play for a very little while. Looks like a teeny but snarly one.
anyone got the ha4/6? can i have a clue please? really stuck :)
i got it :)
bex... I am clueable tonight... what do you need?
how about the ae 6?
ae6 add an ending to the ae4 .... 3rd vowel + 3rd letter
thanks!!! :)
Happy Earth Day, Everyone! Sun is rising here, and it looks like a beautiful day ahead... Babbling wakes up my brain; coffee helps too!
Sun is shinning with blue sky here in Colchester, England
Aloyisius-you are blinding but I can't seem to look away:)
Morning all.
Hi Matkin :)
{{{faerie}}}
Hi Katiew :)
{{{Bex}}}} Hi!!! How are you doing with the gird? Looks like a tuff one.
faeriekae - tell me about your icon..
i have 3 to go!!! :) with only 1 clue!!! :)
Aloy - I just went icon shopping and found this in a photo galley related to earthday. So I grabbed her. Just looked really cool to me :)
OMG Bex you are doing fantastic. You go girl:)
:) if anyone needs a clue i will try to help
Aloy - yours is adorable. Did you do that one yourself? I see a few players are drawing thier own now. And we've had some really nice ones.
Good afternoon dear gang :)
Ok Bex how about the an 5/10 please.
{{{Sprite}}} Hello!!!
if u have the on 5/10 (the vergetable) change the first letter
hiya sprite!!! :)
thanks Bex got it :) good clue
my last 3 are killing me i have been looking for them for ages!
Hi everyone just checking to see how big the grid is today. I'm on my way out to do a show. Sprite - Dr_God was in looking for you yesterday. He needs a translator. Told him I would tell you if I saw you. Have a very wonderful earth day everyone. It is damp and rainy but clearing here. Should be gorgeous by afternoon. Hugs!
Have a nice day {{{Music}}}
2 words to go
((((faerie)))))) thanks. I got your email will answer later. See ya!
you can do it Bex, go, go, go...I'm of no help at all since I just sat down unless it's and ae, or ah...LOL
Anj already told me and I checked out the copycat website. It isn't dutch or flemish, it is certainly scandinavian, probably danish. Babbler.dk is a danmark address too. I emailed Dr_God about it, hope he finds someone who can translate danish.
Ibetter - Hello :)
thanks faerie but its the ho's
Great Sprite - glad you got the message. Okay. I'm out!
hi i need ho also
Bex I have the ho 5/16 if you need it?
well one of them.
2!!!! just found one :)
yes faerie throw it my way. although there are 2 of them :)
Isn't the Ho5 a name from a Potter personage?
the ho that I have is a brand of playing cards.
actually there are 3 of them :)
ho + sometimes vowel + stick letter + 2nd vowel
i think that is the one i have
ah that isnt the one i have thanks!!!!! 1 to go !!!
Sorry that's the only one I have right now.
YEah
Bex - do you have the ho that is a nickname for moonshine? (the illegal drink kind of moonshine)
yes that the one i had origionally
Ok, then the ho that you need is a word that you would use if you don't believe what someone is telling you, as in, "that's a bunch of ***** !"
Don't forget the babbler regular Ha4/6 that sounds as a laugh, but actually is a kind of fence.
could I have a clue for co 5/12 and the following 4/5 please
thanks Sprite :)
Aloyisius that is the one i need but the word i type just keeps saying no.
katie if u have the money co 4/5 then put a n in it
Bex that is a "ha" word like to laugh Ha + samething again.
Hmm... try this. The first three letters are the sound an owl makes; the last two letters are the beginning of the word that describes what you see with... better?
yes thank you very very very much!!! finished!!!! any clues wanted?
*%*%*%*%*CONGRATULATIONS BEX*%*%*%*%*
bexs thanks for the clues I got them both from it :)
way to go Bex! I'm down to 9 words now..
Hello! I finished!! Now, why are the USA folks not lying asleep in their beds???? My excuse is a recent back operation that woke me up after four hours of sleep. What a list! I don't know what half these words mean! LOL and I am sooo glad you ARE up to help me celebrate!
well done jaianniah!!!
WTG jaianniah! And sorry about your back. Hope you can get back to sleep for some more rest and healing.
Jai - I get up early everymoring. I wouldn't want to miss one minute of a beautiful day. You just never know when it will be your last-sounds pretty sad huh LOLOLOL
Well done to you, Bex!!!!!
Oh yes and congratulations on the finish :)
so.. does anyone want any clues?
Yes- anyone want clues?
Not yet, I am doing about 2 million things at once and only have found 1/3 or the words. Will look a little longer myself, lol.
I'm ok for now Bex thanks though :)
ra6,21 bex?
I do have some ho words now that I didn't have before thank to guys :)
ra 6 garbage raider!!!
Ra6 is an animal, I think.
an animal with Black circles around thier eyes.
yea all those things i kinda got distracted but im back:)
LOL Bex :) sit your but down and give clues now :) Unless of course it is bedtime. What time is it anyway where you are?
co 4/5 is its nickname
it is 12:32!!! so not bedtime :)
Good God some of us have only just got up!!
Of course it is not bed time. It's bound to be active living time somewhere in the world... like here :)
I thought it was much later than that. But wow what a time difference. It is 7:33 am here at my house LOL Saturday Morning. And I think it is going to rain.
for anyone looking at the world cup soccer! this is an awesome site! take out the spaces in the address bar or it won't work! http://nikefootball.n ike.com/nikefootball/au/sitesh ell/index.jsp#,en,0;jogatv,,1
Amen to that Katie :)
LICKETY {{{{{ I LOVE YOU }}}} thanks for the wonderful list that you provide for us everyday. I couldn't do this with out it. You are a life saver :)
I don't even use the list and I love lickety too :D :D
stuck on go5,14. Any clues anyone? Thanx
awww Sprite that is so nice.....
aaawww! shucks!!
I'm using Lickety's list now, couldn't cope without it :) Thank you
Thank you Lickety from Kansas. We couldn't do it without you.
Lickety, It is an honor to meet you! I am a newbie, and really appreciate your help!!!
Bex get that will ya *teehee* Rumple I don't have it.
Good morning, all... Happy Earth Day!
morning all
{{{{Jera}}}} *sprinkle*sprinkle*sprinkle Hello!!!
Capone - please don't tell me that your working on Saturday???
well i would help with that go but i have no idea what it means :)
I don't know if I can do today's puzzle... my husband reset everything & the font is realy teeny! I've found 10 words & already such a headache!
no, im running up my itunes bill right now over $120 so far this week
capone if u use itunes all the time u should get limewire
Jera - make him fix it - I hate when that happens lol.
I'm the only one up, or I would.
I don't know what it means, either- it sounds like the study of the sexual hormone producers- I'll look it up!
Jera - I think that's a waking offence - I'm sure he won't mind ;)
i dont mind paying for my music (esp since i know what its like to create something and not get paid for it...lol), but i am updating my limewire now b/c itunes STILL doesn't carry "headless cross" from black sabbath!
Jera - Wouldn't he just die just you went and woke him up to fix the computer so you can Babble without eye strain. *teehee* See I would do that.
You don't know my husband the night owl. I have another gripe... he forgot a bag of trash in here. I figure if I can collect it, he should take them out!
Capone I seen Black Sabbath in concert 6 times. They really rock.
Evening everyone! Morning on the other side!!
Go 5 is an Indian carp- not much help- but there sure are a LOT of places that end with it- like a country that starts Pat.....
only saw them live once, the '94 "cross purposes" tour, but i love the tony martin era of the band.
Oh yea Jera - he would be up right now if he lived with me or maybe I would just save it and slap him with it all as soon as his feet hit the floor. LOL
You guys are so cool!! Lickety is chuffed!!
Oooh, even better... the kids are getting up. I usually try to keep them quiet until a decent hour, but I'm considering siccing them on him. Yes, I'm passive-aggressive.
Mr P - I couldn't do the grid with the list. Lickety rocks.
Gwyd's on about his crayons... left them in the car last night & I ain't gong out in the rain tp fetch them for his majesty...
Jera - get the kids all riled up and loud and that will get him up.
Okay, is chuffed good or bad?
The Sprite is still sleeping like one dead.
Chuffed is good, but can be used sarcastically
Jera... chuffed is pumped!! happy as a tent in a camp site!!
Not sure Jera
I be done. Lickety - thank you for the "non-box" option on your wonderful site; sometimes when we travel I have to print out a worksheet, and that REALLY helps. Anyone need a clue before I go greet the sun?
man I gotta teach TSM about good "sex" music (lyrics wise), shes always telling me about some stupid nickelback song...think i'll mke her a cd of some old whitesnake (slip of the tongue era).....kids these days, NICKELBACK?
So if someone is chuffed & you gave them the mickey, that would be mean, right?
Capone I saw them in 76, 78, 82, 85, 88, 01
Whitesnake ROCKS!
Sab or Snake Faerie?
Not sure what context mickey is being used. Over here to take the mickey means to poke fun as someone
Poison rocks along with AC/DC.
Poison? ROFL
OKay, I've been reading Harry Potter again. Somebody had done something good but wasn't telling anyone, thinking they'd be teased. So that makes sense.
AC/DC rocks all over Poison!
Capone I like Sabbath and White Snake and most of the old rockers.
Mr P - your right AC/DC is fantastic.
Jera what book and page I will read it and double check for you
Sorry Faerie, I admit I do have the first 3 Poison cd's but only cause the girls loved them back in the day! Jovi, Skid Row, KISS....now those are my staples
I don't remember exactly, i think it was about Ron being a prefect??
Love Angus Young he has more energy than anyone else on the face of this earth.....
I saw jovi about 13 years ago, they were awful, I am assuming it was at the hight of their excesses but it has put me off them for life
Capone - see - that's right the girls like them. Kiss is alright but I'm not that crazy about them.
yea, AC/DC is awesome, never changed the straight forward rock your balls off style of r&r
oh yeah. Shook me all night long......
Okay, I am doing the view/text size/largest thing with no results... any suggestions??
ummmm good luck!!
yea, 13 years ago, during the "Bed of Roses" era was a real down turn for them (jovi). when they reformed in the late 90's and released "these days", the music took a more mature turn. good or bad i could relate to a lot of what was on the recent albums, thats why they've always been one of my fave hard rock bands.
Ooh... co5/16 is one of my favorite aussie words
Go6/24: the vegetable that makes you cry must leave.
Thanks, sprite that's 2 words for me!
yeah thanks Sprite <g>
:) The veggie has an A cousin too.
Whoo-hoo, 22 words... wach a small victory I can't let this headache get too bad as I have plans later on...
faerie how many u got now ? anyone need clues?
Jera go take something for your headache now so it doen't get any worse hon.
It's the tiny print... I just took my morning meds...
Bex - I've 29 wrds.
How many ae words are there?
2!
faerie... everytime AC/DC come to Sydney... we go to the concert! It is better than anything you have seen!! (unless you have been to an AC/DC concert!)
Good, I hate it when I look for words that aren't there... best thing about a list (which I haven;t looked at yet!)...
For some reason I cannot stop looking for orchard.
Mr P - Yes I've seen AC/DC several times. They are unbelievable. I see them nearly everytime they come to our area.
I want ionic. If the y was up a bit we'd have annoy!
Oooh, Greek god blood!
That ionic of yours just made me find the Ae6/21.
Jera - just had a look, Ron is chuffed (really pleased)to be made a prefect and his brothers are taking the mickey (making fun of him)
So I figured it out right, Katie? Yea! It's so cool, how it's the same language, but such different terms...
I'd never thought about it before but you are so right.
Yeah, he is stoked!!
Only one r or we'd have razor... is that darn z used at all today?
zero z words today.
26 words... gotta take a break at halfway, if I make it that far!
Is it used in any words, cliffopa?
I've finished (with the invaluable help of Lickety's list). Going to stay with Mari for the weekend as going to the FA cup semi tomorrow. May see you tomorrow if not Monday :)
Sounds like fun, Katie!
Congratulations Katie have a nice weekend :)
i don't know that jera, i've actually on got about 30 words. none have z's so far.
There are at least 40 words that do NOT use the z.
Jera the sad truth is it's only fun if you win!! But at least I get to see Mum & Dad and fuggles is coming for his first trip in the car.
I can't imagine finishing without a list, either lickety or BJ's. Sometimes BJ's doesn't happen, & lickety is invaluable
only 1 words uses the z
Thanks for the progress report... (re z's)
Thanks, bex!
Well, that's that then. I think I will be able to spend a little time in my (very) neglected garden today. The sun is shining and it looks very nice out there
Hi Wren :)
Gj! Both on finishing and on gardening. I will follow your example in one of the two areas.
duran duran my all time fav!
I got most of my gardening done yesterday *says beaming* and I got my backyard mowed and racked. Need to mow the front and side yards today if it doesn't rain. It is forcasted for rain today but ya never know.
Morning faerie, you are safe to use my name today, I am not in the grid. I was know as little brown bird yesterday!
LOL - Wren - I know the feeling. My name comes up once in awhile also. LOL at the little brown bird :)
ExWren & Faeriekae were both popular this week!
They always are :)
awww *blush*
In the grid, thoug, I mean, LOL
I knew what you meant, just wanted to say :)
We know you love us Jera :)
;>
LOL
YEAAAAAAA!! I had a kid hijack him during a bathroom trip... I can SEEEEEE now!!
Good Morning -- it's 35 centigrade today -- 95 fahrenheit -- enough to boil the brain
And then there are still people asking why we wanted kids.
YEAH Jera can see again!!!!
Chilly & rainly here... but we are still going to the Spring Eagle Festival! Might see some soggy eagles!
When my daughter complains a bout a chore, we tell, why do you think we had kids? Go do it!
Done too. Have a great day/night/whatever.
ARB - I'm so sorry it is so hot there. It is 48 fahrenheit here in Michigan. Kinda chilly.
Congrats Sprite !!!!
found a word with a 'z' in it. a cz 4/10 (another word for the male ruler of old russia)
I just now hit halfway...
thanks Cliff :)
Thanks, cliffopa! Did you play the grid where the ts counterpart was a word... & the female form? That was pretty cool!
Hello folks.
Morning Jac :)
Morning, Jacula... tell us about your icon?
hiya jacula and is it your birthday today?
i'm usually much quicker at finding those ts and cz words. a former hobby of mine was studying russian history.
jera--great minds! *sets off to find different icon*
Yes, it's my birthday today. My icon is the 'birthday Babble' that Paul wrote in my card. Don't know if you can see it that well though.
happy birthday!!!! :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACULA !!!!!!
happy birthday, jacula!!
I always found the Romanoff story fascinating... sick kid, manipulative clergy, out-of-tocuh monarchs... it has it all
Thank you.:-))
Many happy returns Jacula - 21st?
Oh Unea... I can change...
Just joined in -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jacula!
I have lots of pics of Girl Scouts doing outdoorsy stuff...
happy happy b-day jacula!!
ExWren - 21 x 2 + 7!
Cool icon, ch! Did I say Happy Birthday, jacula?? I don't think so... Happy Birthday, {{{JACULA}}}
Oooh, big one next year then Jac?
Thanks for the greetings, everyone. This is a tight grid, isn't it? Got 45 words so far but need to get off and do shopping soon.
Jacula have a fun Birthday shopping spre :)
new icon, jera!
ExWren - Yes. Not sure where all the years went!
Ok - break time for me. Gonna jump in the shower and start some spring cleaning of my closets. bbl to finish.
see u later faerie!!!!
me too, faerie--off to soup kitchen board meeting!
You didn't have to do that Unea... you picked a cool new one, though!
Sorry for the delay, we were in the midst of a rainbow discussion... my son is currently obssessed with rainbows!!
:-D
I don't shower before cleaning... I just get dirty... so I shower afterwards...

How old is everyone
hiya, bex!!! :-D how goes it? and just fine thanks, Kate.....how are you? :-)
I'm fine I guess
im 12
Know one laugh now but I'm 10
what's funny about being 10, Kate? i think most of us have been that age at one point! ;-)
i think thats really cool. idk why anyone would laugh.
Thanks MikeyInBerlin
im finished todays but im still here giving clues if any one wants any!
Thanks scribble
Wow Kate and Scribble! I'm impressed! I'm as ancient as the hills and this game's tough!!!
lol, Kate; you can just call me 'Mikey', really! ;-)
i would be obliged with any clue given. (i only have 6 words)
Okay Mikey
scribble, thank you for only having 6. i have 13 so, phew, i feel better about myself : ) just kidding!
ah, well.....i'm just starting the grid, and haven't entered anything yet, scribble.....so maybe once i find a few words, i'll be able to help out! ;-)
Smaller that was so weird
smaller--youre not ancient! 33 is young.
I'm baaaack... what did I miss? {{{MIKEY}}}
lol kate! scribble - you're destined for politics
scribble heres some clues for you = on 5/10 = a vegetable that makes u cry ra 6/21 = a animal that goes through rubbish and has black eyes
Mikey is that a picture of you
Mikey do you like Kate or Jera better?
I'm only 37 but sometimes I feel ancient...
bex, thanks for the clues! i'm ignoring the fact that you're young too since you're done.
{{smaller}} lol :)
Hey Jera!!
want any more?
Mikey are you there.....
I have 33 words but I have been at this off and on for nearly 2 hours... had some trouble with tiny print earlier & got a fierce headache... that slowed me down considerably...
smaller--i dont think i like politics that much. i want to be a chemical engineer actually. bex--thanks!! though i dont fully understand the 2nd one...
{{smaller}} Happy Earth Day!
jear is your headache still there?
sorry typo Jera!
Getting better, bex, thanks... it was the stress of straining my eyes
Is mikey there.............
bex, not yet, gotta go. my little 2 year old is up now, i have to go get him so he can kick my bottom at babble too lol bye all happy babbling!
lol see ya smaller !
yes, Kate? i'm working on the puzzle.....yes, this is my photo, and why are you asking me if i like you or Jera better? what kind of question is that.....especially considering i don't even know you? :-/
DONE...anyone need a clue?...this was fairly easy today
Later, smaller! Have fun!
mikey is it u or santa again?! :)
and Jera??? hi?
lol, bex :-P no Santa.....just me, i'm afraid :-/
Hi, Mikey! Did you miss my hug??
always happy to see u! :)
aw; i guess i did then, Jera.....so sorry!!! :-( (((((((hugs))))))) :-)
awwww; thank you, bex!!! :-)
well i'm sorry I guess you already hate me don't you. I'm just going to talk to scribble. Because Jera is all over you. And smaller is so WEIRD!
okay - my most unfavorite word in this puzzle is definitely the yl word (4/7) maybe the young chemical engineer-to-be can appreciate the definition: A form of matter hypothesized by proponents of the big bang theory to have existed before the formation of the chemical elements.
Good Morning to all in Babble Land
Hi Sherylr196
I have this sneaking suspision that with the last few days being such little puzzle we are in for a real big one coming up very soon
hey frednkate
ummm....kate, do you feel bad or something? and no one hates you...
smaller isnt wierd
hey sheryl :) were you the stephen king fan? i just finished his newest book "cell" last nite.
who's this guy? he's sooo cute
MIKEY here is my sister. Her name is Kara. She is so pretty.
Well yes scribble I do feel like I'm left out
We've had a few big ones recently, as well, I remember cuz I tried to do one & ran out of time with 20 to go... the other I didn't start as I was very busy that day...
are you guys really from Berlin?
yes that's me but I must be slipping because I haven't heard a thing about a new book from him, how was it
excuse me, Kate? where on earth is *that* coming from, all of a sudden??? :-/ Jera happens to be a friend of mine, and isn't acting any differently than most of my friends do, for heaven's sake.....now, why would i hate you, for crying out loud? i'm not a hateful person, and i don't hate anyone.....that's an awfully strange thing to say? :-/ i don't even know you, having only just met you on here now! :-/ *shrugs*
cliffopia were u asking for a clue for the yl orjust saying it was wierd?
thx cliffopa. but i dont appreciate that word, as i dont believe in the big bang theory.
Well bye guys I have to get off. My sister Kara wants to get on.
Kate, it's really of no concern to me what your sister might look like.....i'm very happily attached, and gay, as it happens! :-)
bye, Kate!
(apropo of nothing) You know what I'm gonna suggest to Dr. God for this site? An ignore function in the chat. You know where you can choose to not read the chat of annoying people? That would be nice.
bye kate lol mikey! :)
what 'guys', axe? yes, that's where i'm from.....why question that; is it so strange? we all have to be somewhere in the word, don't we? :-P
bex - i've got the yl word. sheryl, the book was pretty good. a fairly quick read. plenty of gore (which i don't really get into) but it was an interesting concept. subject of the book is cell phones and a disaster that happens one day to everyone making or receiving a call on a cell phone.
Hi Mikey its Kara my sister Kate told me that you were mean! But from your piture you look sexy!
what about the hide log button? and please let me know if im ever annoying...
to borrow from Yiddish vernacular, Bex.....at this point i feel like rolling my eyes skyward, smacking my head, and exclaiming 'oy vey iz mir'.....you know? :-P
Oh I wouldn't want to hide the whole chat. Just might come in handy sometimes to ignore a troll.
sounds like King, I am going to go out and buy it this afternoon
im sorry mikey i didnt understand a word of that!! :)
cliffopa--im reading that book now. i dont know if i like it as much as his previous books, though.
'mean', Kara? that's a new one :-/ read the chat log here for yourself.....nothing mean in anything i said, but i suppose a 10 year old mind could read anything into it :-/ *sigh*
mikey's not mean!
My daughter is 10... I know how ten year olds act.
jera - you have a great idea there. it gets a bit uncomfortable at times and i often hide the log when women/girls start hitting on Mikey. it's embarassing.
ah, yes Jera; 'troll'.....i'm beginning to think that's what we have in here now, possibly.....ah well; nose into the grid, which is what i came here for anyhow! :-P
But anyway, back to the game... how many letters in that yl word, please?
4
no kidding i'm not, Bex.....but that *is* giving Heinrich and i a good chuckle here! ;-)
the yl is a 4/7
Never mind, i found it monkey-typing, LOL
No Mikey you are mixed up. My sister Kate is going to eat. But I already ate. I'm 17.
ja; tell me about it, cliffopa.....i might soon be doing the same thing; but.....you have to admire their persistance, hitting on a gay man, hmm? ;-)
lol; i'm not mixed up in the least, Kara/Kate or whoever you are.....but i dare say someone else probably is! :-/
Mikey were you talking to me or someone else.
mikey - lol. i guess maybe some females take a while to learn.
ahhhh!!! an attack of the pop ups!!
Our favorite small buffalo is back today...
good morning all reading the log , very strange girls, Mikey is very nice person, and dont want anything to do with you girls(teehee)
hiya shorty!!!
I have to go I have to get ready for my prom
RA 6 please?? didnt understand the clue about the animal with black eyes...
All we can do is admire him from afar, right shorty? *sigh*
Is it just me?..or is this puzzle frustrating. I only found 24 words..one word a minute lol. AND..good morning, Babbler buddies!!
animal that wears a mask for the ra 6
hi bex
scribble if u have a co 4/5 put ra on the front
Think bandit, scribble
Okay bye! I guess no one wants to say bye!
oh thx sheryl!!
ja; well.....perhaps so, cliffopa! :-P lol, shorty; why thank you.....that seems to be the conclusion of all who actually *know* me anyhow! ;-)
cya frednkate
oops sorry! bye kate/kara.
oh, but indeed i do, Kate; i'm very happy to say 'bye' to you.....so bye bye!!! ;-)
and enjoy your prom ;-)
Mikey..Tenor, Baritone, basso profundo?..I used to sing with bands til my vocal chords gave out..ack!!
i'm a baritone, lianakate :-)
thx all!
MikeyInBerlin that is so mean. I HATE YOU! EVEN MY SISTER DOES BECAUSE SHE HAS TO GO HER PROM AND YOU MADE IT WORSE FOR HER. ONCE I TELL MY FAMILY AT DINNER THEY WILL THINK YOUR A BULLEY!
ah , nice Mikey. My father had a wonderful baritone..ty for the info :)
well thats it for me all finished in record time, anyone need any help
im always embarrased cause i sing lower parts (tenor probly) with the guys in our choir.
What's with this Fred and Kate character???..How very annoying!!!!!
KATE!!! chill out!!!! god you are a troll! :/
scribble I can relate to the low voice, I am always mistaken for a man on the phone
scrib..I usually sang tenor when my family harmonized..Nothing wrong with that!!!!
mikey i would hide!! :)
yeah fredandkate did this to me once before - this is not the first incident
For your info I'm 10 years old and I'm named Kate and I have a sister named KARA who is 17! And I also have a mom and dad!
Yeh beware, they might come back with even bigger capital letters next time... fear for your life Mikey!
I like singing tenor... often the parts are more interesting than soprano... I like to jump around and confuse people, especially when i go to church...
hey hurshy!!
Hurshy remember me! We were good friends!
Sheryl..HA, yes I need help. ALL of the words I cant find. *errrrr*...Are most of these words ..archaic, or just hidden well!!??? (looking at board, crosseyed)
jera-- i have trouble with the tenor parts cuz i cant pick out the notes alone.
yes, fredandkate, i remember you, i am not sure i consider it good friends when you said i was mean and a bad person :)
hi scribble!
lianakate you are mean!
The Sprite is taking voice lessons... she finds all the parts fascinating... I'm just happy she's getting a bucket... she loves to sing & has a lovely voice, but is very much the individual, if you know what I mean...
No hurshy I was talking to Mikey
WOW YOU GIRLS NEED TO GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!!
lol, bex, hurshy, and NowherePixie.....i'm just ignoring it, and working away on the grid! ;-) i just *so* can't be bothered with this! :-P
kate shes right. you are being really annoying. and no one on here is being mean except you.
i know you were, today, fredandkate, i am referring to a while ago, before mikey was even a babbler
We got out a church songbook (I have 5) & I showed her how to read all the parts. I like to encourage her musical talents.
i guess acting like an adult = mean.
I think this Kate person..*really a child?* needs a good arse whoopin..or parents that supervise her online involvement better..
LOL cliff
I did well I didn't mean too. you are not selfish like Mikey!
LOL lianakate!
lianakate, is her 'child' status really in question here? :-P
Has anyone e-mailed Dr. God yet?
what exactly did Mikey do ayway?
amen lianakate a good arse whippin would do them good
i did, jera
ja, really cliffopa.....acting like an adult must equate being 'mean', to a child, i'm sure :-/
why *them* shorty?
lianakate my parents do not believe in spanking for your info and you are a LOSER
read the log for yourself, NowherePixie; i'd be happy to have you see what went on.....i didn't do anything, of course; heck.....i didn't even have to! *rolling eyes*
Well, enough for me this AM. Am off to play wordscape or literati..my two online faves..Off line I am a Scrabble dork..Later, all..and good luck.
lianakate? you play Literati???
scribble - i think shorty was just employing the common practice of saying "them" when the gender is unknown, not implying that multiple folks need a whipping :)
jera--how do you find the tenor parts in a songbook?
So does anyone have special plans for Earth Day? I'm taking my Girl Scouts to an event at a local state park, even though it's raining
wow; that's my very favourite online game!!! :-)
Scribble, it's the top notes on the bottom staff. Soprano & alto over the words, tenor & bass under the words.
hurshy lianakate said I need a spanking but I don't do I?
Mikey..yep! Havent played in awhile, have been too busy. I do love it though.
oh thanks hurshy!
if you're still here, lianakate.....and might like to connect for some Literati games, then add me on yahoo.....same user name :-)
pixie - all Mikey has to do is show up and this kind of stuff happens. he is always a good sport about it - i would lose my patience a lot quicker.
LETS ALL go to a different place for a while maybe they'll get the hint Oh and thats there problem no disapline in there life
yeh me too!
lets all go to sudoku!!
I didnt say you needed a spanking, Kate. I believe my exact words were.."arse whoopin'"..(wicked grandmotherly smile)
hurshy........................ .
'MikeyInBerlin that is so mean. I HATE YOU! EVEN MY SISTER DOES BECAUSE SHE HAS TO GO HER PROM AND YOU MADE IT WORSE FOR HER. ONCE I TELL MY FAMILY AT DINNER THEY WILL THINK YOUR A BULLEY!' oh my good grief.....now i've seen everything, i really have! *rolling eyes skyward, exclaiming 'beam up UP, Scotty!!!'* :-P lol
well, cliffopa; really.....how can you get angry or hate anyone who's so obviously messed up? :-/
fredandkate, i'm sorry, but you confuse and perplex me, so i feel it best to avoid conversing with you
OH BROTHER!!!!!
Well, if you guys are gonna keep feeding the troll, I'm jumping into the grid...
You know why I said that Mikey because you said that you were happy for me to go.
jera--can you tell me how to find the tenor parts in a songbook????
no, Jera; nobody's feeding the troll at all.....i'm finished; i just happened to see that though, and well.....couldn't help but laugh!!! into the grid now.....and if we all ignore her, i'm sure she'll run along and find some toys to play with or something :-P
Mikey..am still here..My Email name is Soffit@aol.com. On literati I am TooterbugGA..(eyeroll).. I would love to play some literati with you! I also like to play Spades and Cribbage..
no one likes me
i'm off to class (but will babble there, so see you in a few)
sure; always happy for someone to go when they're behaving like this.....so what do you expect? bye! *officially ignoring now*
hurshy u forgot to change!
Same as at 8:32, scribble, you must have missed it...
speaking of discipline....my son called me from USAF officer training last nite to thank me for being strict/tough on him. he said what he is going through now is not that bad because he is used to having to meet higher standards. who would've thunk it?
oh thanks jera. i missed it earlier.
oh wow thats cool cliff
Morning/afternoon all cliff - what a lovely thing for him to say to you!
woohoo I have 4 boxes blackened
hiya fmitch!

Hi Jera, wasn't sure if you were still here - good to see you.
I'm back!
ok ah 4/7= a captain on a boat might shout this "ship ah**"
I was concentrating on the grid a bit to hide from the troll. Then Mikey fell off yahoo & I got sucked in here again...LOL
i did forget to change - was in a hurry, but now that i think of it, i believe my icon is still apropos - it's earth day, and william is one of the finest things on the earth :)
i am, indeed, a very lucky mom.

evanonut!!!!! :-) are you still in here? and nice photo, cliffopa, very pretty flowers adn butterfly! :-) btw; i think i've added you on yahoo.....if you use it, and have the same 'nick' there as here? :-/
scribble - if you spray it in someone's eyes it can incapacitate them long enough for you to get away from bad people
mikey! i've only been here a few minutes scribble, yes, its what miss plum would use.
nut, you always inspire me! (mostly to laugh, which i greatly appreciate) you should write humorous articles for publication :)
oh i see, evanonut :-)
FMitch, me too! Had ALL the windows wide open this morning : ) Anj is fine, he's just a bit pre-occupied with job hunting at the mo but is always asking me to say hi for him : )
Hugs, scribble. Hope he's ok. Hurshy's right, though, there are some scary people out on the net -- who are *really* out in the real world! It's ok to worry about him online, just not give your specifics... Book

oh I'll have bisquits and gravy Please
aw, cliffopa; sorry to hear that :-/ hope you feel *much* better soon!!! :-)
mmm, scribble, i'll take some of everything but the sausage
nutty would say *oh handsome prince, were i not married to a dashing, charming, and handsome william of my own i'd marry you this minute!"
I would not want to marry PW (hey, that's a county near me!), but he could come over & sit on my couch... just be decorative, you know?
thanks Mikey :)
*alas, then, we are but two ill-fated star-crossed lovers! perhaps our souls will reunite in the next life."

puts a differnt twist on the old "the dog ate my homework" excuse.
Maine? Sigh, I miss Maine--from New England myself, but now soooo landlocked, no fresh ocean fish for me... ***pities self terribly**
lola! poms poms! yes!
oh, i am so sorry book - i CANNOT eat fish if it isn't fresh
aww thats terrible book where are you now?
Shorty--what part of Maine do you go to? My family heads for Damarascotta/Boothbay..
Middle of no...ummm, central Pennsylvania. Amish and Quaker land...
we go to york usually
you know what people in cow hampshire call people from maine? mainiacs :) although we're much more nervous about the people from taxachusetts!
sometimes wells
And well you should be, cliffopa!
ooh ooh i have a joke!
aww I'm sorry why did you move?
hmm; i've never been to Maine, but i have a Maine Coon cat.....does that count? :-/
let's have it hurshy
Teaching career of spouse...caused the move. It's a pretty nice place to raise a family, though.
whats yr joke hurshy?
so there was this farmer who lived in maine, right on the new hampshire border, and one day a man from the government came to him and said they were re-drawing the boundary between the states and his farm would now be in new hampshire. the farmer says, "that's good!" and the man says, "why?" and the farmer says, "can't take another one of those maine winters!"
there is a resturaunt in maine called mainiacs
Counts for me, Mikey. Those cats are definitely Mainiacs!
arrrrgh, hurshy.....grrroannn :-P
lol hurshy !
*grin*
lol hurshy

Anyone know the theme for tomorrow?
I was Rumpleteazer back in the day...
afternoon all :)
Shakespeare's Birthday
tomorrow - shakespeare's bday
not in an ALW production, surely Jera? i was Rum Tum Tugger in a Toronto production for a few years at the Elgin, then again here, when i first moved over.....which is why i made this move when i did! :-)
Oh no, purely amateur... high school musical. I can see you as Rum Tum Tugger, LOL
has anyone heard that song 'Bad Day' by Daniel Powter?
is that the one they play on american idol when they lose?
ohhhh, then yes!
My daughter loves that song *sighs deeply*
oh, i see, Jera; lol.....just asked you about it in yahoo messenger, actually :-) ok; makes sense now.....hehe; you're quite right, that role did suit me down to the ground, as much as i suited it, i suppose? :-P

Hey Jac. Have a great day!
Good morning everyone! How's the grid today?
Billie Joe! oops meant good morning Angela!
he looks how I feel this morning - hehe
any clues on an5?
did ya ever notice the 'fresh out of bed' look works for guys - (but definitely not for women)
it's like the veggie that makes you cry, but an instead of on
I think the look works on women too
some people like to put on***s on their hamburgers change the o to an a
oppositoni of cani***
i meant cat*** electrodes and such
definitely not fair - same with the grey hair thing
thanks, fig, i was biting my tongue. :)
I have to disagree with you on that one, too, Angela
yeah well billie joe looks better in eye makeup than i do too...
the more gray my husband gets, the better he looks. not fair :(
mine too - he has a long mustache and it's got skunk stripes in it - but I love it. Billy Joe looks good in anything ;)
lol @ skunk stripes
Any clues on co 5/18??? Please. It is my last word.
co 5/18 is like a type of mussel...but without the 'qu'
nice clue!
add aletter to the end of your c0 4/6
Inge instead of "pig" use the other word for the same animal
thanks grigs. rhymes with fig(s)
don'know about ya'll. but i like when there are fewer words that are harder to find...it makes the challenge more...oh, i don't know. within arms reach :-0. plus then i don't spend ALL DAY on this uncomfortable chair in front of the pc. :-)
go6,24? *bats eyelashes*
add a g to the on 5/10
makes the challenge more ... challenging :P
fig, I am, like, sooooo there for you? I mean, totally? you know?
FER SURE Totally!!!! (puts fist to heart in show of solidarity)
Thanks, bex... any clues for on5,10? ;)
Boy I am dense. finally got it. Thanks for all your help and now I am done.
like, omiGAWD, there's, like, a yl5 here? and even though, like, I GOT it? it's like, i mean, what ARE we? totally, like, Lovecraft or something. I mean, fer shur, gross me OUT.
haha found 'em both - thanks bex
yl. puh-lease. how many peopel actually know and use a word that starts with 'yl' that aren't writing wiki-notes for a living. sigh. how do the japanese play boggle?
probably with more tiles ;>
(begging for help) yl and then what? got a definition i can play with?
yl and it's a definition of the matter that existed before the big bang. Or, it's a CRAPPY small town just outside of olympia, washington, with its middle two letters swapped.
and I am finished :) too bad it was a lil grid, the boyfriend isn't even back yet and I'll be bored!
thinking. and monkey typing. argh. well, only 20 more hours until the NYT is delivered and i can bust my neurons on that puzzle.
welcome to yun-nga
welcome yun-oh :)
good morning all.
yep it would be nice to get the mega grids on a weekend rather than during the week. at least for me it would be.
would suit me that way too, bbnaz... hi bendamalina :)
just need some help on the very last NO4 (not the holiday one). my chimp fingers are not finding it.
have the midday NO too
the Gary Cooper one? ...High....?
the Italian grandmother one?
and the first HO 5 would be nice if anybody has a clue.
apparently, it means 'a ninth', but it's also what Italians cll Grandma...
TYVM Sherb. I was putting the third vowel there not the first........smacks self in head
ho5 - slang word for alcohol
merci gracias thanks! all done now i can go ride my horses before it hits 100!
you're very welcome... gotta run now... have fun all, and see you soon :)
Just testing to see if my icon works...don't mind lil ol' me...
i will check back later to help also! until then see you around.
bye bbnaz... enjoy yur ride... :)
anyone got a clue to the ic5?
how many words? (on the ic 5 - what devils drip...)
just 61 words today
ic 5 is the fluid that flows through Greek gods veins. if you replace the first two letters of *****s aweigh! with the first letter of the word you need, you'll have ic5
that's an****s aweigh! pardon
thanks for the clue bendamalina Just 2 more words to go (both h's)
I also need an h....ho 5/16, the first one (not the hobo's delight).
that's now the last one that I need?
lshult -- how are you? I haven't been able to share grid time with you in a looong while. How was your Passover?
Had a good passover thanks GW. Been working too hard tho. Hows all with you?
new job going good, new son even better, though he is teething already, rest of family happy and healthy -- so I can't complain :)
Need 2 clues, if anyone's willing: ch5,14 and (just CANT see it) ha4,6. Thanks in advance.
Just got that last word. ho5/16= sound a cowboy might make when happy
co 5/12 and the or 5/12 please anyone?
ch 5/14 is full of links
ch5/14 is an easy one, "you might want to link up with it"
ha4/6 repeats itself - it's a low fence.
ha 4/6 is what you'll do when you see the ch 5/
Jeffers- lovers are all biiley ans co***
co5/12 resembles the middle name of Sherlock Holmes' creator, different last vowel
Pardon the typos.
thanks haz
You're welcome - just popping in to see how things are going with the grid.
for the last ho 5/16 - think rules of cards (and why is this allowed?)
haz that clue could also fit the ho 5/16
earth day!
or 5/12 or 5/14 both please?
hi everyone!
hiya Temple pretty quiet right now
Time for me to go -- I have to go to work at Lenscrafters :-\ -- I'll be by later (*Hugs*) to all
hi and bye, woulfie!
hi/bye Temple :)
need ahint for or 5/14 please
is it me or does this grid just look like a mishmash of letters that don't add up to even 61 words???!!!
it's like pulling teeth, to!
Temple, I thought the same thing when I saw it! What a MESS!
that's what it looks like indeed at least for the first few minutes
out of the gate at a blazing 14....whooo-eeee!!!! i only have half an hour break from school...
Hi all - YIKES on today's grid!
but someone - i forget who - finished in about 30 mins at flip
Sorry to delay - or 5/16 - or plus the beginning of a 'pain' - often associated with teeth.
why isn't "chai" a word?
i was considering trying without the list today, since there were so few, but i think that might just be cruel and unusual torture :)
or5/14 - that is
done - fairly quickly but lots of strangeness
or5/12 - add the start of the fairy tale character who just couldn't leave the party at the right time.
haz ty the or 5/12 i'd found but the or 5/14 was giving me an ***e
yay ry!
congrats rycaut!
bye everyone -- see you tonight!
bye to
to are you done already? I only have 37.
i thnk temple had to go to class
Hey, did everybody leave?
I'm kind of lurking for a while.
nobody has said anything for a while.
Maybe everyone is busy trying to find the words.
Maybe, that's what I am doing!
How are you getting on?
I only have 19 words so far, but I'm working on it!
It is a tricky little grid today, but the words ARE there, even though they seem unlikely.
I had been tracking all my words on likkety's chart. Just came back and they're all gone. This is just my 2nd time playing. I guess you have to stay logged on?
I'm up to 21 words, but I rarely ever get mor then half of them anyway. Hopefully I can get atleast 30 today.
Stunny - yes - although you can save it as a 'word' document and then retrieve it later.
On licketys page, you have to keep it open and not refresh it or you'll lose all of your work.
Managed to find 34, but I'm truly stumped now
for lickety's page, yes, stunny. but they'll keep track of them here. i copy and paste lickety's chart into a word file, then i can save that.
ty all. newbie frustration. lol
Welcome to babble, Stunny
ty, I can tell I'll be hooked
Stunny - if you want to continue the hunt, I find www.morewords.com very useful.
ty Haz
also try a2zwordfinder.com
.. or you can paste into excel that works too. Hi Haz, Hows yr Saturday going?
And if you want a Pollyanna perspective on things, let's be glad that you hadn't been entering the words for a 300+ grid!
gr8! I'll try them both. Have to leave for awhile, but will def. be back tonight. have a good day all.
Stunny! you here again? or still? Good morning/afternoon/evening all!
Hello FMitch - I'm fine. Did Tesco's in the morning, went downtown with husband to choose a picture for our wedding anniversary and this evening am heading out to a Table Quiz.
Hi Stid, lol, no just on for awhile this morning. be back later. Yes, I'm hooked! :-)
welcome to the true madness, then! I have 21 left to find... going to be pretty focused for a while, folks! *shifts to lurk persona*
that sounds like a good day all round Haz, do you have the lovely sunshire too it's been beautiful here?
'Sup y'all?
It was lovely in the morning, but it has been raining this afternoon. Nothing new there!
good morning, son! 61 words today, but I want you to spend lots of time outside in the sunshine, as well... give yourself an hour, then take a break.
I'm interested to see how the Table Quiz goes. I had to set the History and the Quotation rounds and am therefore banned from taking part in those. I've pitched them pretty low for the most part but we shall see.
any clues for ha4?
ha4/6 repeats itself. It's an old fashioned name for a low fence.
oh that's a shame it's still ovely here but I am in for the rest of the day. r13dc - have a laugh!
thanks bunches, haz
You're welcome!
Okay - time to get the family fed and watered once more. Hope the hunt for the words goes well and I'll see you tomorrow!
Hello, fellow earthlings! Happy Earth Day. It's like totally globular, fer sher!
na4/no4 giving me fits ...
r13dc: No4 - middle of the day time wise.
what is getting on your tits, r13dc? :O
Judi, I got that one, and Oct31 too
lolol w00fie
na4/4 - inner sanctuaries of Greek temples, n + a whole slew of vowels
r13 - no/4 - another word for christmas.
thanks thefiz, but i already said i got Oct31 :P
I'm starting to really dislike the dictionary this is based on. It should be based on Webster or something like that.
thanks vic - that was most helpful (though still quite a challenge for me, which is good)
sorry - try a prefix for 9. As in, not an octagon, a no**gon.
Webster? Not sure if I trust him. Rumor has it latest dictionary includes irregardless
aarrgghhh! I once worked with an EDITOR who used irregardless--set my teeth on edge!!
Well, it is only regardless with another prefix.
No such thing as "a" Webster's dictionary. All different publishers can stick Webster in their name.
many thanks fiz
well, irregardless, it should be based on a standard text. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
aaarrrggghhh!!!
how are you doing, son? technically, "irregardless" is a double negative -- our family does not use it... :-) I have two words left, *back to lurk*
I just got a new shirt: bad grammar makes me [sic] - from a friend who has me edit all her writing. Une, sounds like you need one.
Yes, TheFiz, we all have our complains about this blasted dictionary and its inconsistencies. We hate it... Yet here we are!
how FABULOUS!!! must go looking for one!
two negatives equal one positive. (-3*-4=12 ya know.)
dun dun dun DONE! will stay about ten minutes to help with cluse, then the sun calls (and the german shepherd dog)
Congratulations, stidmama!
anyone know what ca5/18 means? Here in RI we have a clam that sounds like that, but it's spelled with a "q".
Nice work, stidmama! Stidmatt, you better get cracking...
kudos, stidmama!
how many words today? this one is tough!
i don't see a ca5/18 ...
61 words today -- not too bad, really
Sorry, sorry, I mean c*O* 5/18. I turned the heat off today and my fingers are a little stiff...
its a CO 5/18 afternoon all! :D
evanadine! hi there! happy earth day!
co5/18 - looks like a mispelling of the clam that starts with q, or think of two people being pigs together
Hi, Evanadine!
hiya stidmama!
hola judi!
Matthew's friend just arrived, gotta go! BBL!
is it just me or is this a total beetch of a grid>?
Encarta says it's a different spelling of quahog . . . is that the clam?
Beastly grid today. Only 17 words so far (after 40 minutes). Plus, the cat wants to play and won't leave me alone. But, those claws in the rib cage can be convincing.
Yup, that's the clam!
funny word, eh?
That's it, Une -thanks. Took me 3 years of living here to figure out that Quahog was pronounced like co5/18.
oh, really?? that's how it's pronounced? Wow!
Yeah, it's derived from Narragansett language.
Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone --- back for my last 14 and hoping I can do it without the list. :)
Yeah - it's like the state food or something - also the town where the cartoon Family Guy takes place. And if you say it wrong people look at you funny, like you *clearly* don't belong.
'Sup Cybernan?
too funny :-D
go nan go!
also the name of the town the characters live in, in the cartoon Family Guy
Please can someone explain 'codes' ie co5/18. I am a newbie and you guys have me baffled!!
it means the words starts with "co" and is 5 letters and totals 18 points :-)
I also only have 11 words so far and am already hooked.
candy co 5/18 means the word has 5 letters, and is worth 18 points
Thanks for the help I might get on better now
ah, tndaisy, how much do we miss Mulder and Scully *sigh*
welcome candy, fellow newbie. I started yesterday and am also hooked (and initially befuddled by the code these guys were speaking in)
It's like a foreign language!!
Mulder and Scully can be found on TNT, certain nights of the week
Candy, don't worry, you'll pick it up fast. And get totally hooked, too, if you aren't careful. I'm quite often guilty of babble-while-"working".
aaah, I'm nostalgic for my glory newbie days in Babble back in December 05 - when I actually FINISHED some grids!! Welcome, Candy and r13dc. Hey, r# - have you been up all night? I left you at the flip! (did you get some chocolate?)
yeah, I know . . . it's also on the SciFi channel . . . right now I'm sharing DVD's with a friend who's just recently discovered the X-Files! :)
Have you any advice on how to get rid of the addiction. I can see my work load piling up already
good afternoon all!
And, with a little clear of the throat, I'm done!
Missing r? -- have ra 5/12 and ra 6/21
candy and r13, you'll also get familiar with recurring bizarro words that only appear in Babble! :-D
lol Candy:) Don't worry...just enjoy it! HIre a monkey to do your work for you!
candy, don't ask US for help! We're the ones who have not broken free!
Anyone need some clues? I've got nothing ahead of me but a long day of housework - and I'm happy to procrastinate a little longer.
ra4/4
congrats, Fiz!
oops -- also have ra 4/4
so you have rh4/5
any hints on ra5 and yo? much obliged :P
Not sure a monkey would be much good at running a bakery! Could have trouble with the Environmental Health Officer
thanks, une
Nan - do you have rh4/5?
ra5 is ra6 minus a vowel
You and me, too, Fiz. I just hopped over here waiting for my Palm to finish syncing so I can take my shopping list to the store for cleaning supplies. No hubby here this weekend, time to get the place shiny.
yo4 sounds like a cheesy singer with long hair
the RA6 i have is an animal...am i missing the other one?
Tx, Une, got the word! Up to 17 words, will save the rest for later.
doh, nevermind!
ra5 is the animal minus one of its double vowels
r13: the first yo4 looks like you were trying to say "yoga" but it got stuck in your throat. the second is an eastern image of a vulva - Matt's not still on, is he?
its the only 6 i have right now...heh
There's an ae6/21.
silly me - i already had ra5 :-) thanks for the long hair hint, une. How could I forget the stylized vulva? :O Not that the two remind me of each other *clears throat* now i just need yo4/9 and yo5/16
and a go6
yo 5.16 ...do you like gin and '....'
lolol thanks lynxxx
go 6 is g + on 5 (that veg. that makes you cry)
ok, down to my last one: ho 5/16 (not the one that'a a whole load of, or the brand of playing cards)
leslieann -- HO5? nonsense!
i have that one...
ho5/16 - cheap liquor ho5/14 - circle dance
slang for booze
wow, can't believe i didn't get that one :) done! anyone need clues?
Leslieann: looks likeyou're missing the Jewish dance (yes - you've got in once in 4-letter form - repeat the first letter at the end and you've got it.). Also, the bathtub gin.
r13- did you get that yo 4/9?
Congrats, LeslieAnn!
i'm done too! congrats to all the other finishers! Am off to walk the dogs in the beautiful sunshine--we needed rain but enough is enough!
Yay, Une!
Yay Une! Yay LeslieAnn!
only halfway here...still have 30 left to go!
Ok - unless someone needs a clue (please, please?!?!) I'm off to a glamorous day of vacuuming...
Yeah, I got all the Ys. Thanks Fiz. Still struggling with Ho...
sure fiz -- whatcha got for the 30 im missing?
This is frying my brain! Think I will take a walk and come back later Bye all
have a good walk candy
Evan - try me - what you need, babe?
only 29 now...heh
eva - i have a niece named Nadine <3
*plugging in vacuum cleaner*
fiz - nature abhors a vacuum salesman
i love the name :)
missing an n from the second row -- have the Christmas one -- any hints?
na4/4 - popular Babble word for sanctuaries in Greek temples
n + three vowels
well i'm not trying to *sell* you one. though mine is fabulous. Just trying to be helpful. but fine - I'll go clean - good luck all!
lol bye fiz! see you later!
i know fiz - just had to share a joke. hints when you return?
Ok, R13 - but just cause you're being nice. I've got small rooms - I'll check in between.
ho4/5? already have the one that sounds like a dull prostitute
thanks, leslie -- at the moment can only see one combo that applies to that n, but will keep working on it!
cybernan, did you see mine right before LeslieAnn's?
it is an na4/4, nan
All three vowels are different, too.
thanks, vicuna!
Is there an ly?
nope. two le's
Nope. No ly.
there is a yl, though
evening everybody:)
Happy Saturday! Should I even try this one? It looks awful!
Cybernan try an 4/4 but put first letter last for the no 4
Have the le 4/4 -- what am I missing?
le4/5
Have 5 words to go and am fairly stumped ... anyone?
(German for teach)
wassup, it is fine if you use the list, otherwise it is a nightmare
Of course -- another babble favourite -- thanks vicuna
le 4/5 is the German word for empty, think of the John ****er Report
r13, do you know which 5 you need?
Thanks **plunging in**
Sorry, the German teacher has the * letter, not the empty
leslieann, ho5,16 for starters (both)
inge, i tried to use your name in the puzzle yesterday but it didn't take it
there are 3 ho 5/16. if you never pay, and always eat everyone else's food, you are a mo***. change m to h
anything is ho + fourth vowel + second vowel + sometimes vowel
whoops, anything = "another one"
last is ho + sometimes vowel + first two letters of my name
Vicuna - I was checking out your art work. Fantastic!!
thanks les - i need to keep better track. turns out i only needed one ho5,16 :P your clue was most helpful
last word -- a y 4 -- I have ye 4/6 x2 yl 7 yo 4/6 which y 4 am I missing?
Hey gang :)
Thanks, faeriekae! Kind of you to say so -- and kind of you to look!
And hello, by the way! :)
Vicuna - really I'm amazed at your talent. Do you ever do any faerie drawings?
GAH! This grid is annoying! Need three clues, please: Co5/12, Co5/16 and Ho5/14. Many thanks to those more learned than me.
yo 4/9, nan
ho 5/14 -- add a consonant to the ho 4 preceding it.
co 5/16 - co + fourth vowel + second vowel + sometimes vowel
Thanks, Leslie
Judi co start with the same 4 letters of the word before it and then add and n on the end.
co 5/12 - late night with co*** o'brien, change last vowel
co 5/12: Arthur Co__ Doyle -- change last vowel
No, I've never really done any fairies, although some of my people are somewhat elfin.
Yaaaaaay! Thanks so much. All done now!
co 5/16: "...according to Ho***" (man who wrote the book on card games)
ho5/14 - circle dance, add consonant to co4 of same meaning
Vicuan - Yes I see that. That's why I asked. I just know you would do beautiful faeries if you decided to add them. And should you do that, please let me know :)
yay judi!
Congratulations Judi!!!!
"0 words" -- how lovely!!! - no list, but a lot of help from my friends -- thank you.
Congratulatons Cybernan !!!!
great job nan!
just popped in to see Vicuna for a sec. I finised this morning so I'll see you guys at the flip.

Anyone need a clue before I leave?
cybernan - thnx - need go5.14 & or 5.14 pls
please any clue onco5/18 my last one
Well, faeriekae, I will certainly let you know if I do. You are the faerie expert around here, so to meet with your stamp of approval would be important! :)
yvo, co + another name for a pig
co5/18 - alternate spelling of clam that starts with q, or you can think of two people being really piggy together!
go 5/14: tough one -- rhymes with Miss Hennie.
or 5/14 - think of or + ****s and pains - drop the e
0r 5: or + throbbing pain, minus last letter
Leslie once again you helped me with my last word thank you so much, i finnished it
go 5/14 - or patago***
hooray yvo!
congrats yvo!
Thank you so much im always feel like i acomplished something ,even if it takes the better part of my day.
Did you get them, lynxxx?
cybernan - one of them tnx - still trying to get go 5,14 - miss hennie?
Figure skating champ in the 30's --- try leslie's clue: patago***
still missing 4 ... 2 cos and 2 hos
r13, if you go to lickety's babble clues link to the right and figure out which ones you need, it will be easier to clue
You'll have to be a bit more specific! -- no of letters? points?
co5,12 co5,16
Got to run -- the gardener has just arrived, and I'm a grass widow this morning.--- see you later :)
bye nan!
clues for those at 1:24 and 1:25, r13

i don't even know 3/4 of the words in this puzzle today. where do they find these words?
The Martian dictionary I expect, Lady.....
lol
i swear. i have 11 words left, and I feel that I tried all the possibilities already.
I know how you feel, Lady...... I've said it before, but I feel they're lulling us into a false sense of security with this one....
you're much better off with a puzzle with 200 words in the end than so few. these ones are really distorted
I agree, at least with a 200+ grid you're guaranteed at least 100 words that you've heard of.....
oh yeah!!! Hurrah!!! I found another one. lol.
any clues for yo 5,16, please??
yo 5/16 add a consonant to yo 4/6
at the end that is

Wheareas with me, I try a word, and if it's accepted, I swear it's been made up.....LOL
well, that too movieman. lol
thank you lady...I have that one -how about the other ye4/6
ok, anyone got go 6/24? I'm going crazy on that one.
another word for skinny....change the first letter to y
oh ok. the other ye, think about mean
Lady - go6=g+vegetable.....
g + the veggie that makes you cry
go 6.24 make your eyes water at he end
Lady, go 6/24 think of a veggie, but add a G to the beggining.
make my eyes water? Then that must be today's puzzle lol
This puzzle only makes your eyes water, Lady..... It's making my brain melt......LOL
thanks. no wonder i couldn't find it. can someone give me the definition of it without looking at a dictionary? LOL.
actually, it's making me feel like i really don't know english
Lady - go6= the outer point on either side of the lower jaw at which the jawbone angles upward.
So unless you're in the medical profession, you'll never see that one......
did you know that one movieman or did you have to look it up?
Lady - had to ask for a clue.....
lol. that's what i thought
If you have BABBLE withdrawals because you have finished today's puzzle and can't babble anymore today, does that mean that you are hooked? LOL

lynx...a disparaging name for a black person
I do look at the clues sometimes, but I feel it is kind of like cheeting. I do use licketys list sometimes, and that helps a lot.
I just use the stats panel and the chat log for clues. I've never looked at the other lists. Probably should sometime :) hehe
Lynx, if you are thinking of the word I am, it is a brand name off instruments, if you know them like I do!

no we vacation around there every year and I thought if you had rental property we could check into it
husband sneak up on you again, hurshy? Hurrah for hurshy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
it would be the sound of hurshy finishing entirely with no list, no clues, no help or resources of any sort, just her own little brain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
evening, everyone! :-)
We mostly rent to college students or single room (studio) apartments in southern NH. Where do you vacation (if it's not prying)
afternoon Mikey

What a riot. We rent a house right down the beach from there (whenever it's available). Have you disovered The Amore Cafe in Ogunquit yet?
I dont think so
It's on the right side of the road that goes down to the Marginal Way. Their breakfast is AMAZING, but get there early - 7am or so. By 7:30 the line is out the door!
oh yeah I've seen it but havent ate there I'll have to remember that ty
You won't regret it for sure. :) Enjoy! Hopefully we'll get over there ourselves this year. What a coincidence!
I know that is sooo wierd. we eat breakfast at Ricks alot in York
I'll have to look for that one - I don't think we've been there. We always want to try the Egg & I but it's always so packed.
I know every time we go by it is soooooo packed
Hm, I am missing a co4, I have (in order) the fish, the money, the swindle, and the animal. Help?

I'm making myself hungry for lobster
here too in Ohio its ridiculous
True - it's the place to get it for sure. I bought my hubby a 5 pounder there once and it was heavenly!
isnt lobster expensive ANYWHERE?
thanks
mmmmmmmmm not in new england shutter
It's not too bad here in NH. Usually you can get a chicken lobster for around $6-8 a pound.
I guess I will have to go live there then, but he I can get free crabs 2 minutes from where I live :)
ok i have cheese and crackers now so talk all you want - it ain't lobster, but it's something
we bought 6 lobsters at a lobster lb last year for about 8 bucks a lb and oh my gosh to die for
My cats love it when we get them - they hear them in the bag and are amazed!
I'm eating little chocolate covered bits of biscotti so I'm not suffering too bad
When I dropped a crab on the floor once, my dog went nuts barking and chasing it, but I think she ended up getting pinched in the nose.
do you catch them your self?
LOL shutter
Me either, I just ate some funnel cake that my dad made!
Yes, I catch the crabs myself. My dad, brothers and I go on on our rowboat.
what's funnel cake? is it like fried dough? i LOVE fried dough
I could go for crab also
Not me - I'm a BIG fan of the rubber bands on the claws before I handle them!
funnel cake is deep fried dough with powdered sugar on top. YUM YUM!
yes, then that is one of my favorite foods in the world!!
Id much rather eat Lobster though easier to eat and much better
do all the g words start with go?
in rhode island we called them doughboys
Mine too, though I hardly ever have any.
oh man I'm freaking starving
yes, angela, they do
yes they do
Shorty, go eat your dinner!LOL!
ae 6/12?

oooooooo - don't even start with the steak talk!!
Sounds good.
LOL Angela
I hope so
I think all of you gals need to go get something to eat
one more hint Hurshy? Pls? 10 words left - haven't been this close to finishing in a while. :)
methinks you are correct Shutter!

I'm working on it
Tx Hurshy - got it. Never heard of that word before...
what site is that Carra?
aww carra for what?
me either, but i looked it up so now i know what it is - the outer place on the lower jawbone where it angles upward
you'll just have to make your own fried dough.
i haven't got a deep fat fryer
they put it up before the weather.. "furry friends"
interesting...sounds like some sort of foot disorder :)
you mean like a bunion :)
awww
bingo ;)
hmm, shorty, didn't know bunions were so touching
Well, I have a deep frier, but I couldnt get it to you on time :( lol.

it does sound funny Hursh Any Y clues - I have two ye 4/6. yl 4/7, yo 5/16
yo 4/9, yo 4/6
yo 4/6 is yo5 - the last letter
tx eren and hurshy - got them!
Why would le4 be alllowed, but not "goan"?
once one starts down the path of the whys and wherefores of the enable dictionary, one can easily go mad
co 5/18?
co 5/18 a qu6 shellfish, misspelled
ah, well; that's me finished! :-)
carra, co plus a pig
^*^*^*^*^*^*^FIREWORKS^*^*^*^* ^*^^*^* for Mikey!

aw; thank you, Angela!!! ;-)
Having spent 9 hours travelling from a small village in Cornwall back to London today, I have reached 53 and stalled. Think bed is calling!
absolutely Mikey - I'm feeling fireworks-y today despite the rain :)
Goodbye hydra.
Hydra - don't quit! If I can get to 5 words left, I'm sure you can finish ;)
hydra, what time is it at your house?
FINISHED!!!
shutterbug, it would be almost 1 AM in london

It's only 10.55pm but I'm pooped! Went to bed at 2 and was woken at 6.30 by my host leaving for a day's work in Exeter.
Goodness, it is only 6:00 pm here.
Where are you, Shutterbug?

thanks for the benefit of the doubt :) I only have 3 words left...haven't been this close in a LOOONG time.
Don't believe it but I've finished! Had a little help from a2zwordfinder on the last two ho words. Nite nite, everyone!

I'mmmmmmmmmmmm back! I got so frustrated from not being able to babble I took it out on my poor Harley. rumple
sorry deeha! night!
my first guess, angela, is that you are missing the first ch4/6, before burn
both from the top - a ci 4/5 and co 4/6
got the ci
oh then either italian hello or a word that usually starts sc
and co 4/6 is the co5 (shellfish) minus last letter
just finished the grid -- and just in time for me to sign off -- I will be gridless for a week, as I am taking off for Orlando early tomorrow morning --- I wonder how bad the withdrawal will be??? be safe all.

I'll take what I can get HK :)
took a break earlier, still 24 words to find!
oh crud !! checklist says 1 left to find & list says 2 - i hate this part :((
Angela, you go girl. rumple
ok found it, overly eager with the checkmarks
wtg angela and others! I was grateful for a small puzzle today.
OMG Angela, I just looked at your profile. We are both Harley freaks. I wanted a Deluxe too, but already have a green FXR and a white Heritage Classic, so couldn't justify it. rumple
argh - was missing the co 4 - that jingles in your pocket - someone please shoot me
I started with a 250 Ninja last year, but quickly started eyeballing the Deluxe. NEver looked back. I love it! I'm definitely a Harley freak for sure. I just read your profile and am impressed that you have been riding so long! That's great!
all done !!! anyone need any clues before i go suffer at sudoku?
shoot a blind/deaf/mute?! i don't think any of us have the stomach for that.
LOL hursh !! - ok - when you put it that way . . . i guess i ought to go easier on myself :)
maybe if it was 2 out of 3, but deaf dumb AND blind - can't do it.
Jera? :-)
Mikey! Yea, at last someone sees me!
signing off - time for dinner Thanks again for the clues Hurshy, everyone.
oh jera - i meant to ask you, why do you suppose fredandkate was marrying us this morning?
Not a clue, hurshy... I won't even try to understand the troll mentality...
i mean i was a target, clearly, but you just got tossed in there randomly. anywho...
Maybe cuz I hugged Mikey... I'm such a hussy, you know...
oh yes... you trollop you...
afternoon from the desert. anybody need any clues? howdy hurshy and jera
Desert sounds nice... veeeeerrrry soggy here today...
we could definitely use some soggy!
lol, hurshy; i seem to have been the initial target, then when i 'officially ignored' him/her/it/them, they seem to have targeted you.....and of course i see you, Jera; just don't mind my being slow to respond here, 'cos i'm talking and doing other things, too! ;-)
like.....getting some funny pics ready to use as avatars in here :-P
I try not to do that cuz then I forget to come back for half an hour... especially if I'm shopping (esp eBay, LOL)... so i understand...
oh, mikey - fredandkate had targeted me before - shortly before you began babbling, i think... and then didn't remember doing it when i mentioned it today!
and hi bbnaz
I think an ignore function would be agood additon in here...
Might not be the same person, hurshy... who knows? I don't think that was a 10 year old...
i dunno, jera - people might use it when they got mad at normal babblers and not just trolls, and then we could have even more drama than we already do!
it didn't seem like a 10 year old the first time either... but made the same claim then
I have a 10 year old & I work with 10-ish year olds... they don't talk like that...
yeah, i don't think they do, though i don't know many myself
ho 5/14 and ho 4/7? My last two...I need to finish this b4 my O/H gets back from the hardware store! lol
that would be YIPPEE in the HO form, but not doubling the "o" and the Georgetown HO** the sometimes vowel and the first vowel
i need no 4/4 and ha 4/6
TY bbnaz:)
i have the christmas no and the time of day no
ha4 is a very funny word...
invictus the ha think laugh which NO do you need? the one that is no then the same first letter plus the first vowel?
yep, thx got em both :)
co5,12 and co5,16, anyone?
oh i see, Hurshy.....and i'm in complete agreement, Jera; i really wish we could put trolls on 'ignore', and that would mean we couldn't see any more of their posts.....ah; that really *would* be bliss! :-) and congrats on finishing, Angela!!! :-D
Ok I'm done! TY wonderful people! I suppose I should go and have a life now...until tomorrow;)
co5,12.....late night talk show host but spelled with a different third vowel co5,16....doves make a co*** noise
ok.....*refresh*.....i'm just an eye now; though at least it's one of mine! :-P
ewww I dont like it Mikey
what's wrong with my eye, shorty? :-/
late night talk show host ... with more than 2 vowels? hmmmmm
should i use my ear or nose instead, maybe? :-P lol
tooooooooooooo close
ok, ok; i'll back away again.....sheesh! :-P hehe! ;-)
better? :-P
BETTER

a certain tree-like
its ok found it, all finished
Huzzah for scatty!
that was a nice quickie for the weekend, i'm glad as i've been out all day, just been to see Ice Age 2 with the family
jera, what did you find out in the state park then
How was that scatty? My kids want to see it but I'm pretty picky about the coarse humor...
Oh, just that one of the trails, the one that's best for spotting bald eages even, is handicap accessible... I can hike with my Scouts, yea!
Jera, scatty, faeriekae and mrpresident!!! :-D
Yea, Mikey's back! Did you finish the puzzle?
oh ja; a while ago, Jera! :-) i'm just an eye on here now (you may need to refresh to see it).....lol; but at least it's one of mine! :-P
Mikey you are so silly...
Im having trouble with ths, there artent any of the normal sylable strings i use to make letters.
Hoon isnt a word???
silly, Jera? hey; i figure i may be bothered less this way, no? :-P lol.....and anyhow; what's wrong with my eye? :-/
no, Student; not to my knowledge it's not.....but 'hewn' is :-)
I agree Student, it was hard finding patterns in this grid, unlike most...
Over here a hoon is someone who drives a car in a reckless fashion.... I guess it's a local thing. But.... apollo made it the other day.
oh i see, Student; it's probably a local 'slang' term, then?
One of my favorite Aussie words is in this grid, though!
what's that, Jera?
oh, lol; doh.....no; you can't tell me in here! :-P i'll be ok.....*really* i will!!! :-P```
co5/16
that's an Aussie word?
Hello Mikey!! what aussie word??
HEY GANG I walk away and look who all comes in :)
Hi Mikey - Hi Jera, sorry I hit an ran a few minutes ago.
I've only heard it in an Aussie context, might be other places as well...
oh, hi faeriekae! :-)
No problem, faerie... you are a busy woman, right?
Jera - co 5/16 you co* to a baby make it double vowel + 2nd vowel + sometimes vowel.
oh!! that co5!! it generally has double e or ie on the end here
co5/16 is one of my favorite Aussie words, MrP...
what does that mean, mrpresident?
i feel so funny addressing someone female as 'mrpresident', i really do! :-P
I don't know about busy but the I sat down then got up and went to the kitchen for a Pepsi and from there I just lost train of thought. I hate it when that happens.
Also, "ropeable" that word is used to describe me driving in this crazy construction traffic in my area...
It is how we bush people call eachother across long distances!
lol, ok mrpresident.....so you're an aborigine, are you? ;-)
sorry jera, was tidying the kitchen up, housework is never done. The film was ace, the was a little girl infront of us was a bit scared of the underwater animals(scary)and a bit nasty, i would say from 6 years onwards would understand it properly. there were a couple of things that i don't think the kids would have picked up but the adults would notice, but yes it was very funny
I learned it on Koala Brothers!
well you could call me mrs mrpresident!
Hi Mikey
LOL Jera - I know the feeling there is highway construction right here by my subdivision. I could pull my hair out. You know that feeling don't you Mikey :)
hi, scatty! :-) oh; is your other half the real 'mrpresident' then, 'mrpresident'? :-/
I wish!! when I am in the bush I could use alot of their knowledge!!!
How would you compare the scary factor with Nemo? Worse or the same?
Hi ya Scatty :)
uhm; ja.....figuratively speaking, i sure do, faeriekae.....when i get super frustrated with some of the grids in here! :-P
The road that runs in front of my house is being doubled... they have been working on it nearly as long as I have been living here... now it's right in front of us... yikes!
but.....not *this* hair, faeriekae (refresh!) :-P
LOL Mikey :)
jera, my mother in law is always going co5/16 when she see a friend walking up the road
ja, faeriekae; thought that would make you laugh! :-P ok; you can refresh again, and it will nicely disappear! ;-)
Hi faeriekae, been busy today
oh ja; i'm sure, mrpresident ma'am! ;-)
uhm, faeriekae; i sent you an im on yahoo.....wondering if you got it? :-/
nope
Scatty not really just mowed the yard.
its actually been a lovely day here today, lovely and walm and the sun actually came out for the whole afternoon, my seeds in the greenhouse must have liked it as they have nearly all sprouted
I had a lazy day. Finished early mowed the front lawn (did the back lawn yesterday) took a nap and then played outside with my dog :)
Mmmmmm... meatloaf smells good...
Jera - I love meatloaf....and mashed potatoes????
how do you make meatloaf jera, that is one thing i have never been able to make sucessfully
Sounds lovely... I got up, Babbled a bit, took a bath, then took a carload of Girl Scouts out to the local state park for the Spring Eagle Festival... ended up bringing one of them home with me!
Scatty my seeds are sprouting too.....I love it. My garden have little green popping up everywhere and my tulips finally are in bloom. And my Magnolia is in full bloom it is beautiful.
what colour is it
Jera - did it ran all day? I hope not.
Pink
Haven't decided on the sides yet, maybe a broccoli/carrot/cauliflower mix we have in the freezer... I use oatmeal & BBQ sauce in my meatloaf... very simple recipe. I don't use measuring cups, I go by feel, LOL
Rained all morning, thunderstorms all afternoon... some of the Girls got pretty scared...
But then they brought out the monitor lizard & the huge honking python in the reptile tent & the storm was forgotten, LOL
Oatmeal and BBQ sauce did you say? I've never heard of that. I always use bread crumbs and ketchup and brown sugar mix then I might add some green peppers and mushrooms if I'm really into it.
OMG
Sorry it stormed on you all day :(
i'm growing - marigolds - carnatins - sweatpeas - sunflowers (all sizes) - petunias - lobelia' - Zennia (big blue flowers) - Loads of cherry tomatoes - lupins and quite a few i can't pronounce
No veggies in my meatloaf. Oh, a couple of eggs as well to bind it all together... that's what we're eating most of the week!
oh yeah I add eggs also forgot that.
We made a pretty big one a couple of pounds of hamburger.
ok I'm outta here. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Good night
I love when everything pops up in your garden. I have peas, lettuce and radishes. I'm not having a big garden this year, too much work. Lots of flowers though.
Bye, faerie... sweet dreams!
night faeriekae, sleep tight
i've got to keep all mine in pots as we are not sure how long we will be living here for as my hubby has just left the airforce and we are ment to be out of this house by the end of May, but we haven't got enough money to buy our own house, so we will have to see if there is anything to rent that we can afford
Because i an classed as disabled, i need a bungalow, and they are either very expensive to rent, hardly any to buy around here plus the council try and put us in a house which is no good for me as i can't climb stairs
I can empathize totally, scatty... we are thinking about moving to Georgia to be near the rellies... no family thi far North
so we wil have to wait and see if the airforce take us to court to evict us, then the council might get their fingers out and find us something, FINGERS CROSSED
we want to stay here as jon has a job (self employed) but travels all round he country, and i don't want to be left somewhere where i don't know anyone, my family are quite spread out, my sister is in Aussie land at the mo, she won't be back for another four years
go 6/24, please? It's my last word.
We have a lease through the end of 2006, but our landlord is selling the place... nervous times. I need a rambler or ranch to get around in. Of course if it were big enough, I wouldn't mind a 2 story, as long as I didn't have to go upstairs!
Put a g in front of a veggie that makes you cry, Student
Does anyone know if the Z is ever used?
Sorry, gwenski!
The z is used in one word
That's okay - even though I've played this for a while, I'm still learning words! Thanks for the help.
gwen - go6 - same first four letters as above +3rd Vowel +letter after m
sorry forth vowel
Over where you live are the houses quite big, when ever we see houses on the tv they are usually huge, over here they are getting smaller and smaller
hello everybody! : )
in the lounge, you can usually fit a three seater, a single chair and a tv unit, the kitchen is usually a strip, (very thin) or if you are lucky enough room to to put a really small table
if you get a three bed house, the third bedroom won't even get an adult bed in, only a cotand a very small cupboard. the new houses that have been builtbehind my house are really small, i'm starting to get really worried as we will have to get rid of most of out furniture as it won't fit into any of the newer houses
Hi Temple
sorry having a bit of a moan, i feel beter getting it off my chest though
Depends on the area as to size. The newer ones tend to be bigger & more open. Where we are was built in 1935 & the bedrooms are tiny. We have a king size bed & made the dining room alcove the master bedroom
No problem, scatty, that's why we are here... well, for the puzzle, too, sometimes, LOL
Greetings, TempleOwl, how are you this fine Earth Day evening??
i'm good - if a bit waterlogged! : D
Same here... rain all morning, thunderstorms all afternoon... put a bit of a damper on the festivities...
all in all, did it go ok?
i'm off to bed, a busy day tomorrow (later), have a good night, hope everyone finishes, see you tomorrow evening, nighty night, sleep tight
goodnight, scatty!
Oh yes, the Girls had a blast... lots of critters to see out at the festival...
Sweet dreams, scatty!
gee - mighty quiet here tonight...
Food's all ready... I'd better go be sociable. might pop in later. If not se you all tomorrow!
night, jera!
Finished! Thanks to Musicmom on the phone! :)
yay, bgl!
?
??
hey mom!!!
SilentButDeadly, do you need help?
silentbutdeadly is my mom.
no im new and looking around thanks
well hi, scribble! and mama scribble!
Ok, but I hope you are not TOO deadly. LOL.
Warning - if you are using Lickety's clues, don't backspace to delete something you misentered. I just erased everthing, and I was down to 13 words. I've still got my score, but I can't tell for sure what I still need. ARGGGH!
only to your nose lol
and hi bug!
MOM!!! lol!!
klein, have u tried saving the list to your hard drive?
mklein, thanks for letting me know.
bye people gonna watch a movie. c-ya!
Well, welcome to babble, you havent killed me yet! LoL.
bye, scribs!
I only need 7 more words! Will I actually finish a game for the first time ever?
I should have done that - next time i will. Oh well.. I'll just keep monkeying around. Anybody got a clue for ic5,14
ic5/14: 1. Greek Mythology. The rarefied fluid said to run in the veins of the gods. 2. Pathology. A watery, acrid discharge from a wound or ulcer.
ty eva, good clue
hi eva and missy! have u completed the c's yet? i am stuck for the last two...
got it - ty, eva
Hi-I'm missing 5: ha 4/ 6 no 4/ 4 (not 12 & not the one that rhymes with mona lisa) or 5/ 14 or 5/ 12 yo 5/ 16 Help most appreciated!
last two co's that is...
ha4/6 is VERY FUNNY!
hi TO- yes, the c's are done cr4/6 and cz4/10 are the last two. Let me know if you need more help.
thanks BGL! Thought I'd done that, but hadn't.
or5,14 sounds like a sore ear...
TO- take the sound pigeons make and make it an adjective. Then short for a bandito critter.
thanks mklein!
thanks eva - DONE!
CONGRATS!!! so how about the last 3 for me?: no 4/ 4 or 5/ 12 yo 5/ 16
yo5: make the word above it an adjective
go5,14??
or: take the 4/5 and add opposite of out
Thanks TO-who would have thunk it?
no4/4: either yule holiday, italian granny, or midday
go5/14 - common a flower (be*****)-be
That's it for me! Thanks a lot TO.
where do they get these words? Ty, BGL
yay, eva!
musicmom misses everyone... her internet is down so she is here via phone (and me)
good night everyone. Sorry for playing and running, but went to an 8 hour meditation retreat today and am exhausted. So tiring doing nothing(-:
bgl - please say hurry back, musicmom!
Hullo m'dears all. In honor of Earth Day (and St George's Day, and Shakespeare's birthday) I decided to play seriously with the aim of achieving a complete finish--something that has been within my grasp but for a few words for the past 3 games but which I was too busy joining in the chat to persevere with= Golly that sounds Irish! As a result I have only one wod left to find and no amount of scanning he dictionary seems to help. So, please, anyone out there, can you give me a clue to the final co4? I have the animal, the piece of money, the Latin plural of ice-cream ****, and the word that sounds like a double ***man. but Lickety says there is one other. Please help.
happy earth day, hetty! do you have the co 4 that is short for a "masked bandit" of the forest and now common around cities...
Hetty~Daniel Boone's hat
the other co 4 that was hard for me to find is an anagram of the co 4 for "metal money"
YAY eva (and everyone else I missed while I was out...)
hetty -- one more co 4 you might have missed... did you get the type of salmon?
Yup, Stid, that's the one I called "animal"--turns up in an age or so. Same to you BGL, and many thanks to you both.
Going to bed now... good luck to all still working on this one! 'Til tomorrow, g'night
Bless you, Stid. I had the salmon on my list of possible answers--and I hadn't clicked it in. Is everyone as klutzy, I wonder? Anyhoo, I now deserve fireworks, which I dedicate to dear old Will Shakespeare.
cco5,12 and co5,18? Only 10 left to go, but blindness has set in.
**F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S** for hetty!!!!!!
YAY hetty!
co 5/16: the sound a dove makes + the first two letters of something you see with
co 5/12: sounds like a Barbarian's name, or the TV host "C**** O'Brien" with the last vowel changed.
hetty -- I often think I've typed in something only to discover that I typed "around" it! I think that's 'normal' (to Babblers anyway), especially as we near the end of the day. :-)
found that pesky barbarian, but still missing the co5,18 - the one that lives next to the salmon.
yay, happy dance, second time finishing, thanx all!
HI everyone
mk if you share ownership of a harley davidson, you have a co***, oink
oh -- sorry mklein! I'm more tired than I thought. if you were one part of a pig-pair, you might be a co***; think of another word for a Harley Davidson bike, or where bacon comes from.
mklein that was my last one... if big pigs were jointly in charge of something, one of them might be a co***
hello shirin
I am trying this out and have been reading your messages. I have to say this is pretty fun and I am hooked.
YAY missyem! (sorry that's late, i'm trying to multitask, and not being very successful)
I have a cousin named shirin -- unusual name!
**F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S** for missyem
thanx stidmama... hey Shirin! It's addictive, glad you could join in :)
really? Where is she from?
she is from (and still in) Germany
ty missy and stid. that is the same as the shellfish clue which I couldn't figure out. You are too good!
friend in high sch. is Shirin, too. In Farsi means "sweet" I think?
*blush* aw, shucks, mklein!
is her named spelled the same way? I have met only 2 other people with the same name and spelling.
Yes, spelled the same way. Her father is Croatian, I think.
You are correct missyem! That is exactly what it means.
Shirin, you don't live in SF do you?
I have to say I admire you all and I have enjoyed "listening" to you and your clues, they have really helped a beginner
no, Im in TX. How about you? I do have family there, though
helping others is at least half the fun for me, chatting is the other half. Finishing is just the icing on the cake! :-)
I am almost done, three more to go!
just thot it'd be too funny if you turned out to be the Shirin I know in SF. I'm in Portland, but grew up in Seattle
go shirin, go!
Good day! so, helping is FUN you say.... :) would you mind giving me a few clues? or 5/12 and 5/14?
missyem, I'm in portland too, well hillsboro.
oh -- I meant to say helping everyone but wassup is fun! ;-)
ooh, burned...
or 5/12 .... if you a piggy you are porcine, if you are this answer you are shorter.....
or 5/14: a type of edible plant like spinach; or + german word for attention ***tung
that's neat to know there are more Shirin's out there in the big 'ol world.
hillsboro isn't quite PDX, but I'll give you some slack. I wondered when you had the nighttime downtown pic if that was why :)
yay, thanks! 8 left!
my in-laws moved to tri-cities from hillsboro just a couple years ago... it was a nice suburb, but growing too fast in my opinion!
go wassup, go!
my friend Shirin said she always felt special having "sweet" as her name. Her family got out before the Ayatollah, long time ago!
yeah, we live in good ol' suburbia, but my hubby works downtown and we play downtown. was out til 4 am this morning!
heavens, more fun than I had last night, and I live in town!
hillsboro is growing way too fast. there's an intel and a starbucks on every corner. at least i dont have to go far for coffee!
so wassup, or anyone else, what else you need before I go to dinner?
so did my dad's family. I wonder if your friend might know my dad's family in SF? I am always so amazed how "small" this world really is. Have you been babbling a long time?
we went to see my brother's band play at the hawthorne theater. it was an all ages venue, so i felt really old. :)
Missy, about 30 words.....lol!
Actually I do need help, with the yl4, 7. Any clues?
ic 5/14?
yl 4: yl + the name of Dorothy's Aunt in Wizard of Oz
Shirin, me & babbling, not very long, maybe 10 days? I really look forward to taking a break from my day & finding pesky words.
wassup, your clue is: a fluid like discharge secreted from a wound.
ooo. thx stid
thanks! I thought I had already typed in every possibility!
BRB
this is only my second puzzle. are they always this hard???
wassup, I'll give you a shout out next time I see you here. Shirin & Stidmama, catch you both later too I hope :)
hmm, that sounds disgusting. unfortunately i dont know what the heck it is. my husband just said. "ew" when i asked him if he knew what that could be. :)
ic5,14 - the fluid which runs in the veins of the greek gods. Sounds a little gross.
bye missy. have a good dinner.
I just signed on is this puzzle particularly difficult or am I just brain damaged after driving 120 miles to see my mother-in-law?
nice chatting with you, missy. Have a good nite
did you get it? Mklein, very good-the definition in the dictionary.
anyone willing to spell the ic 5/14 out for me? maybe i've been in the sun too much today.
nevermind, got it by monkeying.
ichor
shirin -- we don't ever post grid words in the chat log -- except by accident
sorry ;(
sorry shirin, i lead you to into it. i meant to give clues to the actual letters. i should have been more careful as you just said you're new to this. :) no harm!
Luwanda, this grid is tough, but manageable, I think. You will have to focus really hard to finish though. 61 words is not too many... :-)
I'm rather new here, but I got the impression that spelling out the words was a "no-no".
shirin -- ((hug))
thanks stidmama, means a lot. have a good nite everyone.
shirin -- did you finish the grid?
night shirin, see you tomorrow?
Stunny -- this grid is a bit low for number of words, fairly easy for me today...
no, I still have 2 more words to go, but I will finish in a few. Thanks for the help
So it is. In the lag time, stidmama addressed my concern. Thanks!
let us know when you're done so we can celebrate with you... :-)
how about an5,10
yw lodestar! how is the grid going for you today?
Never mind an5,10 I saw it as soon as i wrote,
an 5/10 an + charged particle
help with the go6, please?
mklein: like a smelly vegetable that makes you cry: actually a negatively charged particle
go 6: the same smelly vegetable flying at you... :-)
Woulf -- what is your icon today? I can't make it out!
Thanks, stidmama -- and now I am done!!
YAY GreyWoulf!
hi peeps...
since you're done, how's Sebastian, and Kristianna, and you and yours?
i'm missing all of the ho 5's except for the one that follows turner & ***** from the movie. any clues?
Let's try that again. I still need the 2nd ho4,5.
Its a leftover from red day -- it is a red wolf looking around -- there is some underbrush in front of it
ho 4/5: spanish for hour, also a type of dance
mklein - swap the positions of the letters of the 1st ho4/5
How come the Yiddish word for thief was on the grid the other day, but today 'goyem' is 'not a word'. As a shiksa, I am still offended! I realize most people spell it 'goyim', but STILL!
add h to get the ho5 after it
Thanks -- sometimes my eyes play tricks on me. I knew it couldn't be a cr** going after a baby elf!
thank you all. got it
marymary -- the ones to be contrary with are the editors of the enable dictionary -- they are very arbitrary about what they consider to be real words
Uh, I second that !
anyone with a clue for co 5/12?
ren - r u here?
co 5/12: think of late night talk show host co*** o'brien, different last vowel
co5 - co*** the barbarian, switch the last vowel
renfield was here earlier... really pretty icon, too!
i'm here t-owl
hi stidmama...hoping to hook up for a game of literati...getting late, anyway
1st ho5/16?
ho 5/16: another word for moonshine/liquor
lovely tie-dye...anyone up for literati?
ho 5/16: double vowel...
let's go
oops, my list is out of order, the one right next to the booze, please?
well, that's a bunch of ho***! sounds like chewy...
woulfie? ren - i am online
thanks stidmama!
i am too tired, to do much in literati, but could try if you want :-)
yw bonkler! how many more do you need?
I absolutely cannot figure out the booze clue:(:(
I have some things to do before I can play TO -- so I will have to pass for now
the booze clue, could also be a word for someone who is skanky
i'm six away if i haven't botched my list :-)
Victory is mine!! Gonna do a little dance. Thanks to al.l
instead of booze, think of the bad Tom Hanks movie where he was paired with a dog -- Turner & Ho***
last ho 5/16?
well done mklein!
YAY Mklein!
Stacy - think of the movies: tom hanks - turner and...
last ho 5/16: a book of games you play with cards, sounds vaguely irish
ok, I need help with the ho 4,7?
Yay Thanks guyss I finally got itt:D
shirin! you went pro! wow... took me three days to make that commitment... :-)
shirin, it rhymes with the opposite of girl + 1st vowel
ho 4/7: I have one, it's called a wax plant! ho + a two-letter word meaning yes
well, I am really enjoying this so it was an easy decision.
how many words total are there?
hi yum. only 61 today
ok - i seem to have lost renfield...
i am down to deeding the na4 and the three yo words.
no renfield? where did she go?
Temple - she may have headed over to Literati already -- she did say let's go before
na 4 is followed by two other vowels, it's the greek origin of the term "nave" used in churches
how would you know where to catch up to her?
i'm im'ing w/ mama - and where are you miss t-owl???/
i'm sorry. i'm not getting the clues. still need co 5/12 & ho 5/16 (last one)
here -and in lounge 2 my im does not show you online
i feel so dumb, but I still cant get it.
ho5/16 sounds like what water does at 100 degrees celcius
ho 4/7? take the word that's opposite of girl and add an a and change the first letter to an h
ho4/7 ho + she love's you **, **, **
bonkler, my hero! that's what stid meant by card game. i get it now... :)
thanks!!!!!!
did you get it shirin? do we get to do fireworks for your first grid?
one stinkin' word left. i hate this grid!
not yet, still working on the last ho5, 17
wassup, what do you need?
i mean 5, 16
wassup! attitude, attitude!
i need the same word shirin's looking for. we'll finish together!
yeah!
ho 5/16: ho + sometimes vowel + tall letter + second vowel
ho 5/16: this fellow wrote a whole book about different types of games, mostly card games
i'm a liar! i had the ho 5/16, i need the co 5/12. man, i'm ready to be done. :)
ho 5/16: sounds like the last name of Popeye's girlfriend
and i'm done. yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
yeah, I got it!!!!! thank you!
t-owl...where are you????????
co 5/12 is the one that sounds like co*** the barbarian or the late-night talk show host co*** o'brien
ho5/16 an affectionate term for a goggie, but with an h instead of a p balogna, nuts, no way. that a load of ho**** double vowel, second vowel sometime vowel and the cards one
YAY wassup!
wassup, I'm so proud! You're a good kid Bibs!
YAY shirin! ,,,,,,,.......------- *******YIPPEE*******-------... ....,,,,,,,
thanks mommy! how are you doing on the grid?
congrats wassup and shirin!
oh, and i'd like to introduce my mom, sueq. everyone, my mom, mom, everyone.
Just started.
ren - was booted out - shall we try lounge 12?
Pleasure to meet you, (bowing)
it's actually not that bad. you'd think otherwise by my recent rantings, but it was ok. just use the list!
t-owl go to 24 table 4
hi sueQ! I think i've seen you once or twice before?
yo4/6 and 5/16 anyone? please and thankee
hi sueQ! ren and temple - what?
anyone need any help? i'd love to give clues!
Howdy!
co5/12?
yo 4= sounds like j*** and chachi, 5= yo4 + c
co5/12 co*** the barbarian, swap the last vowel
ren and temple have gone to play literati, I think.
co 5/12= like the barbarian but with an i instead of the a
hi gromit! hadn't seen you for a bit... how are things going?
Wassup, hysterical clues, but I got 'em!
and that's me done! thanks very much wassup!
YAY bonkler!
good, sometimes i'll go back and read them after i post and realize they're much better in my head. :)
nice job bonkler!
Hi stid! Yes, soccer and baseball are taking over our lives lately.
bonk, thanks!!! and a lovely movie! the someone-shoved-an-airhose-in-m e-and-turned-it-on-full-bore look was all the rage then
i need a bigger screen. this laptop isn't big enough for the chatting. oh well. **scroll**
Just 9 words left. go5/14?
LOL wassup!!!! yay bonkler!
hey what's a few steroids between frinds? i mean mr. governor...
the next couple weeks will be concerts from he** season... three or four performances for different groups within 8 days... argh.
gromit, like the flower be*****
Stid - what do you play? Sing?
i'll be right back. the kids are needing a snack before bedtime. then i can babble my head right off.
fortunately, I just have to show up! :-)
Thanks wassup!
LOL bonkler!!!!
Matthew plays the trumpet (three concerts) Grant plays violin (one concert)
Stid - LOL! Kids perform?
nothing quite like kids, gamely thrashing a musical score
stid, is that stidmatt that plays babble? does stidgrant?
Stid - That's great. My 7 year old is taking guitar. He plays a mean "Blue Suede Shoes".
;-) Our elder son plays as well as many college kids (he's in 7th grade); the younger has an excellent ear and touch, but admittedly only just started in earnest a few months ago. We got lucky to have musical kids!
ic5/14?
smaller -- yes, and yes.
i'm a singer songwriter thingie. music is one of the best things to carry in your heart. does wonders.
ic 5/14: apparently means something yucky that comes out of wounds? ic + tall single hump consonant + either/**
oh stid, that's so cute!!! el4/7 sounds like a girl-slam. oh your sister's so willowy, but with your massive thighs you're kinda...well, el4/7
i'm back, and el** as ever.
Thanks Stid. You must be so proud of your boys! Must make all the "taxi-driving" worth it to see them perform well.
bonk, "thingie"? is that official music biz terminology?
LOLOLOLOLOLOL wassup!!! let's form a union and stomp the willows
yes, they are good kids, and it's nice to know they are involved in positive things. Hard sometimes to find things kids enjoy enough to keep them out of trouble.
tree people unite!
LOL! Small - I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but I like willows! couldn't we stomp the tent caterpillars instead?
i just have to say, i laugh a little inside everytime i see my icon. :)
evening friends!
let's have chocolate at our union meetings
kristinc! how goes the day? did you get to play outside any?
i don't think we're too discriminatory, stid. we'll stomp everything. hi kristin!
wassup - can't make out your icon. What is it?
hey kristin!!!
UUURRRGGGHHHH!!! need 2 words!! I am SOOO STUCK!!!
definitely chocolate! hmmm fudge. haven't made that in quite a while. I'll bring some to the first meeting.
Stid-yes, we got quite a bit of yard work done and then took a trip to Bellevue for dinner and a little shopping. A fabulous day! Did you finally make it outside?
well MelRina -- what do you need?
i'm not sure! i know a guy who's an illustrator and this was on his website the other day. it's a head with jellyfish things or something. you can see it bigger on his page to the right under friends of babble. pirate and alien
hi smaller, wassup, and others! What! Chocolate/fudge meetings...where?
augh! my first puzzle, almost 10 minutes left, and 4 words left! anyone help me out with any of these? yo 4,9 yo 5,16 ah 4,6 ar 4,6 thanks!
feather, you have an hour. :)
featherbee, just arrived so I can't help w/ clues quite yet but you have an hour and 10 minutes btw
yes, was outside a good bit. Tom and Matthew built a nice big burn pile to get rid of brush -- and there were enough logs and good coals that we could treat the kids to food cooked like the pioneers did... a real stew made in an old-fashioned cast-iron dutch oven buried in the coals, and fry bread in a skillet atop the burning logs. It was delicious!
lol, i do? i thought it refreshed at midnight....wait, it's not midnight everywhere is it? lol, pressure got to me...
yo - like j*** and chachi only with the y. for the 5, add a c.
stid...no way! That sounds amazingly fun...good for you all!
ah 4/6, the sound you make when you clear your throat
it was great fun! I highly recommend it. I took benadryl before I went out, and I think it will keep the allergies from getting to me tomorrow (fingers crossed).
wassup - just went and looked. He's cute! Did you name him?
ar 4/6- when you go under a rounded entry way?
ar 4/6: the raised part at the bottom of a foot
wassup, thank you! geeze, how'd i miss the ah?
i'm going to name him...phil
**bowing deeply*** Stid - you domestic goddess, you!
feather, no problem. im usually last to finish or dont at all. i'm loving this early finishing.
woops, my bad...i had ar 4,6, needed ar 4,5

wassup...great. I grew up in Milwaukie and moved to Seattle in 2004...still love Oregon even though this is home now.
very cool! My husband found Babble about a month ago from some geekly website blog he reads regularly, and showed me, and...
the other or rhymes with porcupine? sort of? i have no idea what I'm saying.
Stid - and the rest is history, right? A friend at work showed the site to me and I instantly knew I'd be hooked.
YES! I got the last yo 4,9 on my own! figured out i could add the points to see which letters....a little late in the game to learn that trick but oh well. thanks for the welcome everyone, see you tomorrow!
sueq, you still around?
yep! I think you know within the first five minutes if you'll come back once you log off, and within the first ten minutes if you'll be here as often as possible... LOL seems that people either really love Babble or they really don't!
bye feather and welcome!
Yup, still here, up to a staggering 31 now
LOL, wassup!
YAY featherbee! see you tomorrow!
not bad!
goodnight feather--yes knowing the point values will help you very much in the future.
go for it SueQ! you're more than halfway!
how about ra5/12?
where'd smaller go, all this talk about chocolate and then she disappear...a dessert tease I guess :)
ra 5/12 is just like the 6 below, bandit animal, only missing an o

chocolate chip, but my daughter picked the chocolate chips with peanut butter swirl. should be heavenly
5 words left. na4/4 **blushing** I hate when I can't get a 4 letter word.
*passing fish to gromit* you'll need this when you realize this word is a Babble regular.... na 4/4: na+ two more vowels, means "church nave" in greek....
gromit, that's because it's a made up word... na+round vowel + dotted vowel.
LOL - got it. I'll have to remember that one.
oh, sure stid, now these words make sense... :)
or5/12? Sorry, wassup - couldn't make it rhyme with porcupine.
that's because it doesn't. :)
or + c + dotted vowel + one hump cons + 2nd vowel.
sorry, no e.

kimber which HO5?
one ho5 - homemade liquor.
one of the 5/16 have the liquer
one of them sounds like the Jewish holy book just change the "t" to "h" the other is when a person is full of crud you say that they are full of HO +4th vowel + 2nd vowel + sometimes vowel
oops, you have that one. add the 8th letter of the alphabet to the end of the ho4/4 right before it.
from the middle h
and then there is the name of the card game guru. Sound like Sir Arthur Conan DO*** but you change the d to an h
last ho5 is ho+sometimes vowel+tall consonant + 2nd vowel.
