Chocolate!
hotdog......how many words?
flip!
flip!!!
Hi, Knut!
flip flip
Here we go again. JB's what is your icon?
how did you-all get here already!?!
Good Evening, everyone :)
Thank you bbnaz, Babble is like ....
mornin knutmeg, you were lurking in the shadows... very sneaky.
watching flips is fun! this is like my second flip *falls asleep talking*
hi there.. i'm kathleen... i've been playing a while but afraid to say hi hi... from gainesville florida
It's a happy kitty dancing in a tiny tutu!
Howdy everyone! stid- I start refreshing constantly about about a minute before midnight. Makes for a quick flip. :-)
wassup - you changed!
<--- Champion Lurker
welcome birds!! It's a pleasure to have you here. Don't be shy. It's a friendly group!
147
Hi, Stid! <tosses yet 'another' bag of M&M's!>
Babble is like ...
hello folks, 148 today
hello birdsandnests
hi birds and firefly! Welcome to our wacky world!
r 7/28
JBs - awwwwwww! I love kittys! For a minute I thought it was Olivia (the pig, with a tutu).
148 -- that's why I have so many already! LOL thanks for the M&Ms JB!
s 7
sue, how'd you do?
silly gromit, my icon is Olivia (but not a pig and not in a tutu) hee hee!
thanks!
hi wassup, thanks for noticing...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz hu h? where am i? No really, been around a month or so, just quiet
Hello and here we go!
Firefly, it gets to a point where I'm so teary and blurry eyed that I just have to go to bed. Usually not up this late, but family issues have made it so I'm home with just the kitties for the next few days.
greetings, birdsandnests! My real name is Kathleen also :-)
t 7/28
i object to 'meese' not being a word!
Gromit, someone yesterday also saw a pig. Maybe I should find some ink blots... and run a survey!
r 7/28
I second the objection!
Babble is an excuse for literate, like minded, geniune "people lovin", internet word game junkies to meet new people and feel good about themselves. I love being on the fringe!
Ha! knut - you're Olivia is beautiful!!!!!!!! I love the name. My sister is named Olivia.
Thank you Gromit. :-)
JB - it looks like a flying pig to me too.......
I second Lickety's opinion! Have some M&Ms folks, and wassup baked cookies -- are they cool enough to eat yet?
Look out, lickety is a little "edgy" tonight! (That's for using the word "literate" at 1am, silly!) <grin>
Okay, how many see a pig?
JBs - I can't spell past 8pm - let alone midnight!
sorry stid. i haven't made them yet. i got sucked back into the babble vacuum. i'm going to make them tonight though, even if it's tomorrow.
I can't vote, I've seen the picture of that kitten somewhere else beore, so I see a kitten in a tutu just fine, JB. :-)
i see a kitty JB
*reluctantly raises hand for pig* but it's a DANCING pig! :-)
pigkitty.
Okay, WWWAAAAYYYY too much chocolate for Stidmama!
LOL wassup!
JB - do you know the Olivia I'm referring to?
*blush* oh dear, forgot to change into my icon for today... BRB
ha ha... i just found an en5 that made me giggle. :) I know, I'm 8.
It's a children's book character, yes? (referencing recent chat from last puzzle - I remember Gomer Pyle original episodes, NOT on Nickelodeon or whatever, so I was past childhood when Oliva was born!)
I LOVE Olivia books. They're so my daughter. She IS Olivia, only child, not pig. And not named Olivia.
There is a new one. From a children's book. Lemme see if I can find it.
JB -- I too remember the original episodes, not reruns. Gads.......Sgt Carter.
okay, now appropriate to the day... birdsandnests -- just noticed you went pro! when did that happen?
When it goes flip, with much haste, I flick a switch, and copy and paste. The Clues are done, So go have some fun!!!! Ciao
just changed my icon **refresh** It's a very small picture of Olivia
Um, wassup, it's way way past my bedtime, I think you are saying you have a wonderful daughter whose character is much like Olivia the Pig in the children's book, but your daughter is not a pig? Help me here! (quick check to ensure "here" is not in the grid!)
Thanks, Lickety!
lickety=my hero. Thanks!
Lickety! Thank you once again! :-)
Thank you Lickety!
correctamundo jb.
TYVM, lickety!!!
Okay, Gromit - now THAT looks like a pig!!
wassup - I love Olivia too. I read the book to my younger son. He would laugh so hard at her attitude.
stidmama - i went pro sometime in early march... ive been playing since last spring
gromit, she's so cute! i like the bows on her ears.
that is weird -- because when the grid just came up, you didn't show as having an icon on my computer.... :-/ maybe i should turn in anyway -- my clock says only 10:20, but I think i'm on UK time for some reason! feels like the middle of the night!
yep, that does it. I am getting things that shouldn't be words... :-P good night all! see you tomorrow/later!
night stidmama. see you tomorrow!
I vote for bed!!! Good chatting with you all - I'll be back on in about 8 hours. Nite, s-mama!! Nite, everybody!
its not too weird... i didnt ever have one til today... i figured that i didnt really need one if i wasn't participating in the chat!
night pigkitty, er, jbs
Nite JBs!
G'night Stidmama & JBs!
wassup - have you ever read any Kevin Henkes? Chester's way or Wemberly worried?
Thanks for clearing that up for me, kathleen! Will see you tomorrow, I hope!
I don't think so, are they children's books?
i hope so too!
oops, almost forgot *******Liv****** and ((all))
Nitey, nite Stid.
wassup - yes. They're really cute too.
wow not bad just started at 31 words :)
We got a new library this weekend in town. I'll go look for those this week. I need to be better about reading to my kids. I am selfish. I want to read to ME!
Nighty nite Stid.
good night all...
So who's still playing at the moment?
ugh, how many puzzles do i have to type in 'aten' before i realize it isn't going to work?!
gromit, i like the david books. i don't remember the author, but my favorite is "No, David". The little boy in the book is a terror and looks just like my son did at about a year.
wassup - yeah, me too. You'll enjoy reading these to your kiddos. Also, look for "The Seven Silly Eaters".
I'm playing, poorly.
lickety, how long have you been pro?
I was... but I'm off to dreamland. I have a fair start at 25 words... fair for me!
I'm here Lickety.
night lodestar gromit, i made a list. i'll look for all of them. i love libraries.
I'm playing, Lickety. Much concentration going on without much result. Might head to bed shortly, though.
wassup - David... Don't know those. I'm going to look for them.
About 90 seconds. I thought I should probably upgrade, even though I don't play.
well, congrats lickety. what an.... evil duck? you are
Everything's just Rubber Duck Duckie!!
you went PRO!! Congratulations *~*~ *~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
Well I'm going to play this one today - seeing as though I went Pro ;-) I'm going to see how many I can get before I look at any clues!
mrp, there's nothing funnier than your icon.
look at you lickety!!!!! you look ducky!!!!
wassup - I agree - It's like - Awwwwww that's just too ......... FUNNY!
where's babbler? we should have a theme day of cats wearing hats in honor of mr. p
I'm off --- only got 88, but the brain refuses to stay awake any longer! :)
maybe that's a bit narrow, though
good night nan!
i'm all for that idea. i'll find a neighborhood cat and dress it up for the camera.
hope it's a friendly one
Congrats on going pro, Lickety!! Leslie -- it could be a Stuff on Cats day :) after all there is a whole website dedicated to that! ;D
that's true, i've seen it, though i prefer cats in sinks
hullo GW and Nan
yeah, can i use one of my dogs?
and Ren and Les and MrP
how about "dress up a pet" day, that would be a good theme
so many folks who have been more than kind and friendly to me!
So it's cats then?
oh not today. today is shakespeare's birthday. we're thinking about future themes.
i think any animal in clothes is funny, rabbits, lizards, hamsters...
ok by me cats in hats
spiders in clothes, not funny (I guess spiders are insects tho, not animals?)
firefly brings up a good point.
Ah, good old Bill. How old?
hmm, agreed. spiders aren't funny, ever.
Se 8/45
thanks LA ;)
What about Ms. Spider -- the kids cartoon?
yeah, she's harmless.
hmm, i've never seen it, but i don't think it would be cute. i didn't even like charlotte that much.
a tarantula was funny when it landed on the guy's face in the original Home Alone movie and he screamed like a girl...but it was really the scream that was funny, not the spider
te 7/32
dalmatian, looks like you conquered google images
We had a rabbit donated to us when we bought the cage it used to live in. This fluffy white rabbit was violent! It would charge your legs with it's head, and then get it's teeth and nails into you. It used to live on a balcony over-looking hundreds of houses. I wanted to dress up that Animal! Something demoralising!
No LeslieAnn, actually I have not. I went to Google and found the icon I wanted. I copied it and clicked into Babble URL but when I went back to paste neither copy or paste was highlighted. This icon is from the only site I have found I can manage. But, I will keep trying!
huh, that's weird. maybe try control+v, that pastes on my computer
you could have dressed it up like the rabbit from monty python, lickety. sounds like it would have been easy.
Thanks, LeslieAnn, you are going to get me through this yet and I appreciate it!
LeslieAnn - is that the killer rabbit? The one that flies?
that's what i was thinking :)
That would be the ferocious rabbit.
Yes... The Vorpal Bunny
Geez, I'm not good at this game at all! !!! Too many words that I just don't know. Practice, Practice.
hey, there's this link to the right, it's called lickety's babble clues, it is very helpful.
Na come on, who needs clues! I've got 21 words so far - how many are there?
148
Oh Crikey!
67 down, 81 to go. My eyelids insist on closing. I'm fading fast...
I just found a good one, and here is a really bad clue : Read the grid for a bit like a book, stop quickly and turn around.
that is a bad clue. ;)
me too. im really going to get those cookies made so i can go to sleep and wake up to cookies and coffee. nothing better. :) Goodnight everyone!
motenu = not a word
I am SOOOO bad at giving clues - I think I'll just be quiet now ;-))
mmm, yummy wassup. save some for us. :)
just kidding lickety :)
night wassup!!
I know LeslieAnn!! Even my scarcasm is aweful
Night wassup!
oh ok good. some people get offended easily, and those people usually don't end up being friends with me. :)
Ok, I'm going to sign off. Hopefully, I'll catch some of you tomorrow and finish this thing!
good night gromit!
lickety an excellent clue but then i had the word already
LeslieAnn - it takes a lot to get me offended ;-) If you were to get close, you'd be hearing about it from me ;-)
jeffer - we must think alike! Got a good one for me?
excellent. and after all that, i think i found the word you were talking about - what you look at at a restaurant?
Bye gromit!
ok but what words do you have?
give me a hint for a seven letter - but don't tell me what letter it starts with
ooh i found the se 8 all bye myself. how exciting.
those who work after the washers ???
LeslieAnn - that's an awesome clue - I didn't have that one - But I did have something that everthing's made of, just above it in the same direction.
oh i see what you were saying. man, we are all so smart.
jeffer - I got it! I had the non plural one - but not that one. Thanks for that!
lickety yw and your read like a book led to leslieann giving me the restaurant one ty leslie, nice tree by the way!
that was an ansel adams photo for earth day yesterday. it's the globe theater now.
well, I'm done for the night. See everyone later in teh day!!
good night meg!
Night knutmeg
oog this is a toughie
bedtime for bbnaz........see you in the a.m. to finish my final 47. have fun babbling. thanks again Lickety for all of your work!
See ya bbnaz! Thanks for the thanks!!!
Hi Lickety - I am curious, is this a job or a hobby? And either way, how do you get your invaluable list so fast?
lynxxx, I've been waiting for someone to ask me that - want to do it off chat - yahoo msgr - same name as I have here.
oh, no, you must tell here - there are more peeps that are curious but didn't have the nerve to ask. please?
How about I put a link on the clues page - with some info - that way it'll always be available ?
im done.
that works for me, thanks a lot.
oggy - that was fast! joey, will do it now and let you know when it's done.
thanks. I am amazed and grateful for what you do.
had to get it done, working all day.
i have 51 to go, stopping for now. see you later.
My poor Duckie has a Bull ish problem. I think I need to take it back
Morning dear gang! :)
hey sprite!
First word I saw was 'tomato'. It is NOT there.
M7/36
this grid is running quite smoothly for me today! How about you Sprite?
how many words today? I'm at 84 words with 3 7's - I assume I'm missing a few big words?
ry.. there are 148 with 10 x 7 and 2 x 8
do you people ever go to sleep? LOL
LOL!
good bye, everyone! see you later - much later!
Night night temple!
morning all... Happy St George's Day :)
just going to check out sudoku...
done!
you went Pro... congrats cying... :)
thanks sherb, this was quite a bit of fun and a good diversion from sudoku :-)
what's your icon... Romeo and Juliet?
it's my drawing of christian and satine from Moulin Rouge... there's a bigger version on my web site if you want to see it closer up.
ah, very good, I'd like to see that... I wondered if it was R&J because today's theme is Shakespeare's birthday... :)
I have to go now and get the papers... be back later :)
see ya! if you want to see that drawing close up, my web site is www.satine.org. bye!
what a week...the queens b/d... shakespears b/d.. kermit the frog's 50th anniv. of being in show biz
happy anniversary kermit t. frog!
good morning everyone!
Add to that Rolin, St. Georges Day
Happy St. George's Day to all my fellow English Babblers, and warm greetings to everyone else!!!!!!!!
good morning everyone. This looks like a rather sane puzzle. But looks are often deceptive. Seems like the plural of the hawaian goose must be the same as the singular? Does anyone have a clue for the se8?
Morning, Eva..... I don't have the se8 either, but then I'm useless with the long ones......
good morning everyone:)
se8/45 the one that sits beside you
ty, gwen...... That's one of the 8's.....do you have the other?
he8/70 look at the point total
he7 & he8 builds on the he5/22
Not a good omen-suddenly lost my connectin and it took all this time to get back. Probaby means it's going to be a rocky babble day for me. Anyway, thanks for the se8 Gwen!
Gwen - which he5/22 does the 7 & 8 build off? The er or the es?
exactly my question movieman!
...not that I can see either of them, but at least it will tell me what not to drive myself crazy with.
er
gwen-after the he5, does it finish downwards or upwards?
Got 'em, but I had to use the dictionary..... Anyway, ty again, gwen....
okay movieman-give us a hand here please?
Eva - the last three letters of the he9/70 sound like frozen water.....
Sorry, I meant the he8/70......
Thanks movieman!!!!Never would have gotten that and can't google anything else because I'd probably never get back to the grid.
yw, eva.....
Anyone have a list of the 7's? I have: he7/52 ri7/28 si7/28 te7 /32 te7/28
and may I mention once again how much I hate re's?
They're not as bad as Ks though.
Eva - I have all of your 7's except the te7/32..... Cluez plz?
k's are much more definite-you never know what you can re and whatyou can't.
plural of te6/21-which builds on te4/5 which is the homonym for your other te4/5
Yeah, Ks are much more definite. I can't definitely find them. :)
ty, eva.....
LOL Sprite.
any clues for the me7?
eva - I just found an em7/32.... It sounds like the plural of those things women use on their nails....
great one movieman!
me7 - a tall upright megalith; found primarily in England and northern France [syn: standing stone]
Obelix loves them.
ty gwen.....
thanks gwen! Knew that all along of course(-: And Sprite, who is Obelix?!
"Who is Obelix?" ????? Oh dear. Asterix and Obelix. Cartoon heroes who opposed Caesar. Don't tell me they are no longer known.
Sprite-I don't think it's a matter of age...I'm 56. They may not have been popular over here. Also, I didn't watch cartoons much as a kid....once we had TV that is. There weren't many, and I found a lot of them frightening.
Well, actually they were books. Comics. And internationally well known. Perhaps they are called different in english, it is possible. They are originally french.
Hi all! have been lurking - Sprite, I wondered if you were going to get that response to Obelix - he and Asterix haven't made it to the States. I'd never heard of them til I moved to Europe.
thanks amanda for the cultural clarification. Never heard of them before.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O belix
Of course without the babble spaces.
Thanks Sprite. I'll look them up later when I dont have to be afraid that I'll never get back.
It's actually a real shame that they haven't caught on in the US - they're excellent!
They are really fun. Witty.
anyone have a clue for that o in the topline? Probably obvious, but can't see it.
I am pretty sure it is not Obelix. ;)
on5/14 sounds like the crying vegetable
Anyone clue up re: the u's plz?
un + ta4/5
un4 the un6 lion goeth the brave man with a whip
ty gwen & amanda....
that crying onion is making me cry.
Has anyone tried Weboggle?
Lawyer-1! Looooooong time no see. Good to see you and no, I haven't.
wot's weboggle?
Sprite, I'm here daily, just normally quiet. How's that for a lawyer?!
I tried some internet boggle site a few times. Among normal mortals, i.e. my friends, I do quite well, but this was like being a minnow tossed into a pool of piranhas. They were way, way beyond my skill level.
Isn't it annoying that the un6 is an adjective but not a verb.....
www.weboggle.com You can play individually or as teams.
Since you can't bill per hour here, I think it is wise, lol. Though you are missed. We recently told all newbies how incredibly smart you are with finding all words, even without any lists.
44 left to find an nearing Merp feeding time. A rainy, chilly day here, but no complaints as this spring has been exquisite thus far and we need the rain. But the blackflies are already showing up.....way ahead of schedule. We can only hope that they will all hatch and then we'll have a killing frost. Cliff - are you there?
Not that smart. I just follow all of the clues left by others. And who says I can't charge by the hour?
Just try to collect though....
You can charge. It won't work, lol. :)
That link refers to http://videosgame.info/?rid=86 0833 here.
the last re - 5 - 10 ?. have tried but now need help, please.
Sticky tree stuff?
Grim - "to misbehave again" or the stuff in trees (same word)
i have the tree one.
That is the last one. The other is same, other middle letter.
then maybe it's that babblet* for the thing a cowboy uses? *typical babble word
thanks sprite. i have it now.
Lol @ amanda... good new word, a babblet!
any clues around for the 8's?
there's he8 - pl. witchcraft
...and se8 - one who sits next to you
thanks amandacath , would you beleive I alraedy had the singular of that!?!
had bothe the se4 & ma4, would never had thought to put them together!?! thanks again amandacath
Anybody know how that he7 got into English? It's German, I'm assuming it came thru Pennsylvania Dutch, but I may be wrong...
YW, Ishult
54 words to go, time to take a break. later
Good morning. Just had to but in. Obelix and Asterix were offered in foreign language catalogs in the USA but not in the stores,
Being totally biligual I am always amazed to see how many German words have made it into English, especially when there are perfectly good English words to say the same thing.
Gotta run! Happy babbling all!
What did I say that noone is chatting for half an hour? Are you all still out there? Everyone gone to church because of the si words in the grid???
It's you inge... you just totally offended everyone & no one will ever Babble again because of you...
;P
Wow, I am off to church as well then.
Have fun... are you finished?
no, I was actually lurking for more clues, when that total silence set in. But I am halfway at 70.
I'm at 56... lots of nice patterns, this one might not be too bad...
good afternoon! :-)
Hallo Mickey, time for breakfast!!
Guten Tag, Mikey!
lol, Inge; well, English *is* heavily derived from German, after all :-)
hey, Jera!!! :-) (((((hugs))))) and it's Michael or 'Mikey', Inge ;-)
breakfast? we've just had lunch! :-P
Good grief, those girls are awake already... they didn't go to sleep until nearly midnight!
lol; what time is it where you are, Jera? kids do have energy, you know! :-P
It's just before 8. Sprite will go to bed early tonight... she needs her 10 hours... that's why she's so beautiful!
I am such a diplomat... "Good morning, girls! Not everyone is asleep so I'm going to close the door & turn the fan back on..."
Sorry, had to take a call from our daughter in Cleveland. Sorry Mikey for the extra c. Will try to improve.
Yea, finally using the darn X...
Whoo-hoo! Halfway!
Mikey is that you in your icon?
lol; it's ok, Inge! ;-) and yes, Jera; just another shot of me :-P
Good Morning :)
Morning, {{{faerie}}}
{{Jera}} *sprinkle*sprinkle*sprinkle*
good morning Mikey :)
*dances in the faerie dust* Not too bad today, I'm at 89 words... found several little nests of patterns...
Jera oh goodie. I'm at 34 and sat down maybe 10mins ago.
I've been off & on for not quite an hour... will be slowing down considerabley though as the girls are up now...
faerie... tell me about your icon? Are you incostume for the day or is it something else significant?
my icon is Shakespears Sister. I couldn't resist.
I beleive they are British rock band.
brb gotta let my doggie go outside. He is crying.
Woot! Done!!
Oh, I needed to refresh, faerie, I was seeing a coastline.
Congrats Knut!!!
Wow, knutmeg! Huzzah for you!
he didn't want to go out. he wanted me to help him up onto a bar stool. he has curled up and is happy for now. Until he wants to get down.
Thanks! I'd stick around and give clues, but I've got so much to do before people come over. I'll try to drop in later with hinty goodness. Later, everyone!
Jera the coastline is Shakespear Lake :) I was going to use that and then I found Shakesprars Sister and had to have them.
Later Knut - enjoy your company :)
morning, Babble!
Morning {{{Angel}}}
Gotcha, faerie, I assumed it was something clever like that...
an clues on the en words?
I have no en words... :<
there is 1 en that is a remedy for constipation
thanks Cliff :)
and by the way....I don't want one of those.
me neither :)
final si5,10?
cdn-sorry dont have it :(
sorry cdn - since it is sunday i am attempting to go listless for as long as possible. but there is an si 5/10 that is plural for what a serf might call a knight or a king.
thanks cliff, that was it
brb phone
cliffopa, if you're feeling listless perhaps you should take some of our special vitamin tonic!
lol vicuna! actually, i am sipping on a mimosa. (champagne & OJ for those not familiar)
Well, that ought to pep you up, then!
i'm hoping so :)
anyone have the 2 u words?
Vicuna, tell me about your icon? It looks quite lively!
"un4/5 us a son is given"
thanks vicuna.
Hi Everyone, the other u word, is un 6, un + ta4
Jera, my current icon is head shots of Kenneth Brannagh and Emma Thompson in "Much Ado," which doesn't look very lively. So I'm guessing you must be seeing yesterday's icon for Earth Day. It's a woman dancing with wild animals. It's a response to the ancient Greek and Near Eastern goddess called "Mistress of the Animals." Was that enough info? lol!
thanks jeewhiz!
Very cool... yes, I need to refresh again...
Mine is a friend of mine playing Puck
That's cool that you know him, Jera. I can't claim that about Ken and Emma!
Good morning all!!! Having a bit of trouble w/the me 6/24. Any help out there???
Wish I had a pic of me... I was one of the three witches, of course, LOL
What fun, Jera! Was the performance recorded?
me6/24 males + not him but *** ... change the vowel
Probably somewhere... some pictures were taken of me, but didn't turn out well... tricky lighting in that scene
macuser - great clue :)
Thank you cliff :)
Hmm... witches are seldom well-lit!
anyone have the o word?
on4/4 - preposition
Oops, I'm an idiot. Please ignore me!
Thanx Macuser. I've been stuck on that one for quite a while.
You're welcome, nonny :)
on5/14 - sounds like an element (or a little like the tearful veggie with the last two letters changed to get the right point value)
At least not the stage ones, Vicuna... reals ones actually enjoy sunshine, especially at MidSummer!
ty vicuna.
cliff - is that your cat in your icon?
Pretty kitty, cliffopa!
I'm back.
Vicuna - love the icon :)
yes macuser - that is Zoey, otherwise known as little miss trouble. she is a bit too dexterous for her own good.
My icon is Shakespears Sisters. British rock band :)
good morning
good morning Harp :)
lol cliff - well, she's very pretty! :)
lovely barbie :)
but Zoey has many redeeming qualities - she loves to cuddle, she is always up for anything involving a chase, and she makes me laugh when she tries to bully the dog.
yes cliff - they do provide a lot of entertainment. I had to put child-proof locks on my kitchen cabinets to keep mine out of them
the same cat I found perched on top of the shower head with all fours
No wonder they need 9 lives ;)
lol - how do cats dream up these stunts!
(Oops, sorry for lacks of responses, etc. Duty calls. I'll be back for more later!)
ahh yes s's
{{{Shorty}}} LOLOLOL I love your icon :)
thanks :)
hello!
Hi Harp:)
Done! Anyone need clues before I go?
good morning, anyone have a clu for he8,70? Thanx, rumple
the he7&8 build off the he5
Morning Rump - sorry don't have it :(
Hi faerie... how are you?
Hi {{Macuser}} I'm great....how are you. Looks like it may rain here today.
doing okay, thanks... rain here too
welp gotta go iron my hair will be back after church got a good start though :)
please re-direct all rain toward me. it is only sprinkling here and we need much, much more.
Im in Michigan where are you Macuser?
he8 builds on he5/22--add German word for frozen stuff you put in a drink to make it cold . . .
Rumpelstilsken: Think of German wrod for witchery
state of misery... er, I mean, Missouri ;)
yup - just saw on the weather channel your getting rain also today. but you know what they say "April Showers bring May flowers" :)
Yeah - and we've been in a bit of a drought here. And I've yet to get my flowers in the ground :/
Come on Macuser, I like living in Missouri. Do you say Missoureee, or Missourah?
I say... Missoureee
Good, you say it correctly.
We don't say Mississipah
I agree... how anyone gets 'Missourah' when it ends in 'i' is beyond me
Missourah is a deep south thing :)
Exactly!
how about the he 7/52 and 8/70? Please :)
Most people on the St. Louis side pronounce it, Missourah
Okay, Une, that makes sense where you live, but try to say it properly in the future, okay?
he8 builds on he5/22--add German word for frozen stuff you put in a drink to make it cold . . .
no no no, not ME!!! but I've been around folks in the Deep South (LA, ALA, etc.) who pronounced it that way
Use the he5, with the -er, to build on.
Oh, yeah, the DEEEP south.
thank you, thank you, thank you, got them :)
there are all kinds of weird pronunciations floating around--I remember my dad saying "MassaTOOsetts" :-D
I like you icon JeeWhiz :) Lucy was my favorite character... my dad used to called me Lucy because I was so crabby... mostly through my teen years ;)
Thanks Macuser. I like all of the Snoopy icons, but I guess I look the most like Lucy. (Whispers...maybe a little of the attitude too....)
i was also called lucy (because of teenaged grumpiness)
And I have never been called Lucy.
funnily ironic, cliff :)
I'm a lot like Peppermint Patty...
Jera, sweet and blonde?
another nickname i was given! (my first name is Patti)
aww... Peppermint Patty was sweet :)
Redhead, not a girly-girl
My favorite all-time Peanuts strip was one where Lucy approaches Linus and says, "From now on I intend to move through life with total serenity..." and Linus responds, "Do you really think you can?" ... and Lucy responds, "WELL, WHY NOT?!" Causing Linus to tumble over from her outburst
lol lol lol. just an fyi, you can find a couple of words derived from how lucy wants to go through life (se words)
LOL Macuser that is cute :)
What a helpful chat! Thanks Cliffopa and Macuser.
whew! scared me there for a sec, cliff... at least I didn't use the actual words ;)
Excellent clues... wanted to spell those but couldn't see them
Hey Jera - still here? Quick GS question.
hello, everyone
Hi Mikey :)
Gonna go sudoku now... happy babbling and bye! :)
Bye Macuser :)
Hi Mikey ((((faerie)))))) -- my internet was down all day yesterday. Didn't come back until after I went to bed last night. Sorry
hi, faeriekae :-)
Hi Mikey, and bye Macuser...I have to go too...Must go and be more productive in my other life.
bye macuser :)
bye mac and jee
bye jeewhiz :)
{{{MusicMom}}} glad to see your computer is up and running :)
It was very frustrating --- couldn't put my orders in, email anyone or play babble. I missed a teeny grid!
yes it was teeny tiny.
I helped BGL finish over the phone. I had left the grid up when I left home = so at least I could see it.
LOL thats great 8)
I did have a very nice visit with my mom and Grandma - they stayed for about 6 hours.
that is always nice Music. There is nothing like visiting with family.
I agree Faerie
morning to all (or afternoon depending on where you are)! back to finish my final 44.
Morning bb
morning bbnaz :)
I'm back musicmom... what is your GS question (my favorite kind!)?
You can email me if it is too much for the log --- I'm looking for a quick, inexpensive thank you for all the leaders in the SU. I have been put in charge of our last meeting of the year which is a banquet for the leaders and their daughters.
The SU is buying chicken and everyone else is carrying in a dish. I found one idea --- give everyone a lollipop that says 'You really licked that big job". But I don't love it. Actually I don't love any of the ideas I have found on the web but am not having any of my own that are any better.
thanks!
this is a polite and friendly grid today - isn't it?
okay, i think i just found the wierdest word today, an me 6/36. here is the definition: "A membrane, especially one of the three membranes enclosing the brain and spinal cord in vertebrates." can't think of a decent clue for it yet.
I have that one cliff--- it is odd
going back to the old television shows it is a screwy version of an old private eye show...or at least that is what it reminded me of...goofy I know.
if some folks need a clue, perhaps we could say males + things that come out of pens (sp)
Hey faerie - one of Capone's fav words is here today
but naturally Hurshy sheds perfect light! Morning Hursh.
morning, bbnaz
LOL Music - I thought I was the only one who would see that LOLOL
and recongize it as one of his words.
It's kind of bad but I thought of him immediately.
thank goodness "hard" isn't a word today....Capone would really be in is glory then. LOL
No doubt.
evenin all..... the grid looks quite easy today
Hi Hannah - yes it is. jump in :)
It is very nice today Hannah
thanx i will jump in now :D
BRB --
ok, I'm outta here. going shopping and then to a frinds for lunch. be back tonight to finish. Have fun everyone:)
Patches or green angels are popular thank you gifts...
I'm back.
wooden spoons!
gd lol i already got 35 words
hmmm hadn't thought about patches. The SUA has always done this in the past and made something. That was the track I was on. Good idea. Think I'll do some searching at Design It and JoyCrest and see what I can find.
Is that for me hurshy?
um, yes :)
Okay... I'm dense - what do I do with them?
patchwork designs has some cool stuff as well. On ebay there is a company that makes great GS patches & there is one i particular that I love... in the shape of a pocketwatch & has the white rabbit on it & it says "Only ONE hour a week??" LOL! That's more of a leader/coleader thing, though
you see i am very unsentimental so if i were one of the people you were giving a thank you gift too, i would want something i could use. if you want a little meaning to it, you could say, "you caused quite a stir!"
but i am weird, so feel free to ignore me :)
LOVE it Hurshy. How about "We whipped another year" and give them whisks. Jera --- I love that patch (pocketwatch) idea. Could do that for the leader/co-leaders and a "my mom's a leader" type patch for the girls. Do you know the ebay company name?
whisks is good too :)
Okay I'm going to go surf the web for patch ideas and whisks and see what I can come up with. Be back a little later to finish the grid. I have to get this event planned because I'm out of town the week before it and only have this coming week for prep.
No, but just do a search in the patches section & you will probably find more than you ever dreamed of, LOL
BTW - I knew I should have asked first - I spent hours this week looking at website ideas for this. Thank you Jera and Hurshy - you guys are terrific.
any time you want bizarre ideas, i'm your girl
Tee-hee... I know how to shop for Girl Scouts. Patchwwork Designs is a personal favorite for earned patches. They have different countries (good for Thinking Day) states & various topics the Girls really enjoy. Beautiful patches as well, really high quality qork.
LOL, work that is...
hello everyone!
Howdy TO
Hi Temple
Hi Owl, I keep seeing tomato???????????
Morning, Babblers.
does anyone have a clue for the last am5/12 pls?
musicmom - good to see you back
hello rolin - look to the 4/5 above
tmple owl i have that one..its the next one i cant find
ril, have a cup of "tea" with that 4/5
thx stunny,...dunno what it is...but i have it now..lol
me either, yw lol
can someone please tell me about the 8's -like what they begin with?
se 8/45 he8/70
How embarassing. I am missing a four letter word: me 4/6, the one after the restaurant list. Please help me
the se 8 is a compound of se 4 and ma 4,
the he 8 is the plural of he 7: German/Amish word for witchcraft
I'm stuggling with the re's as usual. I just need one, re6/18, somewhere around the ren or res, I have the one where you sit down again
Looks like I silenced everyone again. Help!
ty inge for the he8!!
the last re 6/18 I found was the 5/10 with doubling the middle consonannt
what's wrong, Inge; do you need my help? :-/
inge - me5: chins damn i cannot remember how to spell that witchcraft
Inge; do you realize i picture you as being a little green frog? ;-) hehe!
Mikey, see my request at 10:31 I think. For me 4/6, not the restaurant list.
hi mikey! is that you playing a macbeath! LOL!
Thank you inge, I looked at that but didn't think it would fit.
TO, when you put a spell on something, you have placed a he* on it, take several words from there
Done. Now I can get ready to go to choir and then ride my horse without worrying about this puzzle!
yay bbnaz! igne was that the me5/12 you lacked?
anybody want help prior to leaving?
huh, Temple Owl? what makes you say/ask that? :-/
inge-- the other me4 = menu with a vowel replacing the second consonent
oh, sorry Inge; but i'm only on the 'he' section now.....working the list in descending order :-/
mikey, today is shakespeare's bday i believe...my icon is othello
<<word>>
bbnaz, how about te6/21 and 7/32? Can't find those.
I don't think I will finish today, I still have 70 words to find, and I am going to a St. Georges Day Concert this evening. Hubby is singing in it, I have a red rose to wear, and a flag to wave when we sing 'Land of Hope and Glory'
exwren, what a fab concert! What will hubby be singing?
Bookgrl you used a grid word in the chat. thats a no no. Mikey I dont look anything like that, but I do have several frog statues....along with my garden dwarfs!!!
oh, ok Temple Owl; well the only Shakespear play i've acted in was our college production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, in which i played Puck, the woodland fairy; and i played a *very* campy Puck, too.....to everyone's amusement.....and when girls would come back to meet us all after the show, and asked me if i'm gay, i'd just bat my eyelashes at them (still in costume and makeup), and say in a very campy voice, 'well; Puck *is* a FAIRY, you know.....Queen of the treetops, dahhhhlings!' ;-) but i don't have time to fuss with icons for 'themes'.....so i'm boring on here.....i'm just myself, and use my own photos :-P
i like pie
Hydra....think of a group but use the second vowel twice TE(x2) + letter after "l". add second vowel + letter after "q". Then do it again with the plural on the end
lol, Inge; i should hope you don't.....although i do find froggies very cute! :-) and they go great in gardens, i have to agree! ;-)
inge, my use of the gridword was unintentional, nonetheless, i hope you found the word you were missing.
Hydra, it builds off of the TE4,5 immediately preceeding it
ach, Temple Owl.....Shakespeare; someohow, my finger missed typing the 'e' key hard enough there :-P
lol mikey - too funny!!! would love to have seen that!
thnx, bbnaz. Got 'em!
Found my me 4 word. I have a valid excuse : my dog doesnt speak a foreign language and we dont own cats.
I have seen the programme, but can't remember whats in it! There is another Male Choir as well, and a Band, it will be pretty rousing
anybody else?
a valid excuse for what, Inge? :-/ hey; our dog and cat are bilingual.....they understand German and English.....so why doesn't yours? :-P hehe!
how about ne6/18 please
my animals understand plenty of different languages...but the horses that come from Germany, they are quite humorous in the way the vocalizations are used.............
Mo. If you are not far you are NE** but change the last two letters. move the consonant to third and add another second vowel. Then use the singular of "are"
got the ne6/18 thanks
oh ja, bbnaz.....horses are *very* intelligent creatures.....i grew up with them, as our family's always had riding horses, and they were quite bilingual too! :-)
I have show jumpers Mikey. What type of riding did you do?
thanks bbnaz...i had it just before your clue came up
Mikey, Doesyour dog make the sound the cat makes? Thats what I mean. Of course, our dog Nika understands German aswell.
okay gotta jam in a few minutes. anybody need anything else? otherwise will check back in later to confuse and bemuse...........
no worries Mo. glad you found it.
just pleasure riding, bbnaz; i was in ballet and vocal training/lessons while growing up, as well as Tae Kwon Do and theatre classes once a week, besides my homework from regular school.....so, i was *way* too busy for any other 'extracurricular' activities! :-/
OK, last word se 6/21, the one closest to the end of the se's,
bye, naz. and bye mo, mikey, inge, rolin, stunny... *deep breath* exwren, hydra...see you later!
inge: would that be one who sews? or the sailor? that's all i have so far
plural of what guys shoot
take care, Temple Owl! :-)
ah and what type of voice have you?
you find it inge?
i'm a barintone, bbnaz.....although i do sing into the bass and tenor ranges, too
No Temple Owl, this one is further erh down the se's/
No Bnaz, still searching.
its that white stuff that comes out of their outdoor plumbing
afternoon all could someone pls help me with the ni 5 can't find it
Thanks BBnaz, jsut saw your post and got the word.
it is the plural of the SE5,12 immediately before it
whoops TMI from me then. glad you found it!
sheesh, bbnaz! :-o lol
Thant's me DONE! Thats why I picked this icon, I can jump for joy.
on that note I shall leave to warble............see you all later!
aw; then congrats, Inge!!! :-D
aaah Mikey, living dangerously here. you should come and visit our choir, plenty of eye candy with beautiful, well everything. Yes I know you are attached but you aren't dead are you?!?!? ;~)
NI 5 is plural of ni 4
duh pass the fish ty inge
huh, bbnaz? how on earth am i 'living dangerously'? :-/ i'm living anything but.....and of course i'm not dead, but i'm not interested in any 'eye candy' either.....i'm not superficial in the least, and besides..... i'm also fortunate enough to be with my true soulmate; there's only one guy in the world for me! :-) Heinrich's wonderful, and he's also all the 'eye candy' i could ever need! ;-) hehe!
this is easy ant it musicmom
oh, musicmom's here? :-) hello! and ja, hannah lou.....i'm finding it an easier grid today.....maybe Babble's taking it easier on us 'cos it's Sunday? :-P
afternoon all :)
me again can someone give a clue for the re 6/18 either of the last two on the list pls and ty
Sheryl...sit down again
got that one stunny
en 7, em 7, to 7?
Good morning, everyone
hey cyber how goes it
its good evenin lol
no kidding, Hannah.....we're just eating our supper at our desks here! :-D
but.....good morning wishes to Sherylr1961 and cybernan, who are both over the ocean in my homeland! ;-) man; i feel *so* homesick, seeing our beautiful maple leaf flag! :-/
Hello everyone!
DONE...anyone need a clue??
still have 28 to go sheryl -- may have to resort to the list.
still missing one re 6/18 the one after the 5/10 pls and ty
en 7, em 7, to 7?
to7 is the plural of the to6 before it
en7...add to letters to the en5 just before it
Thanks Ouwa, can you lead me the direction of the to6? Guess I am not seeing that one either...
got a clue for the to 6, ouwa?
to6...to4/4 + what you call yourself
ty, ouwa
Muchas gracias ouwa!
only en 5 that I have "cleans" you out -- is there another?
Hello I'm baaaack
Hi shorty :)
cyber...thats the one...just add 2 letters to the end of it
thanks again ouwa
i give - somebody tell me what the 8's are
i mean what they start with, of course
he 8 and se8
he8...starts out with the he5/22
add to the he5, and add to se4/4
Hurshy, I like your icon choice!
and i yours, vi :)
se8...puts two 4/4's together
What is my missing 7? he, em, en me, ri, te x 2, to
ponder ponder
Ouwa, can you please help me on the em7?
i can! em7 - pl of boards you file your nails with
JeeW -- plural of what you use to file your nails
am i adding to the first he 5/22 or the second?
Hurshy, the er one
the one with the cross, hurshy
em7...rhymes with famous song in "Cats" but change the beginning...lol
Hurshy, the ending sounds kind of like German for ice (according to other's clues.)
ok got the he thanks
Does anyone have all the 7's? -- What am I missing, please? he, em, en me, ri, te x 2, to
se, cnan - an unlikely plural
se7? Is that the one you are missing....means tranquil.
cyber...you are missing the si7
That was it, GeeW -- thanks
and *i* am missing this me7 and se8
*peeks in, looks around*
me 7: male +not his, but change the vowel
Hurshy, for the me7, start with males, add misspelling of possessive female pronoun.
ponder ponder ponder
se8...if Hurshy and I went for a ride a car....we would be se8's
*hurshy hits self VERY hard with fish - hurshy LOVES me7, hurshy wants an me6 for her yard!!! hurshy cannot believe she missed that! AND the se8, stupid stupid hurshy!* thank you all though. :)
se 8: the person who shares your chair -- person who sits next to you on the plane, train, etc.
Hurshy, you have heard of the me7 before? That is a new word for me.
yes they are big obelisks. they are in these french comic books my husband loves called asterix. obelix makes them and sells them.
<<<may think twice about being Hurshy's se8 if she smells like fish...have to open the car windows
can i have a clue pls for the re 6/18 the one after the 5/10 at the bottom of the list
Sheryl, maybe you need the re6/18 that is the same as the one before, but change the last consonant.
missing one from the first t -- have all the common ones and the to 6 & 7 -- any ideas?
i am missing 2 of those cnan :(
I am missing two of those t's, myself.
Hi All - Little snippet of useless information -the last 3 letters of the me6( a Breton word) mean the same in Breton & in Welsh. As a Breton once told me ' Le Celt madame, moi aussi le celt'!
:) snowy :)
And how about the m on top....? I only have 2 of those.
So, Snowy, what do those 3 letters mean?
oh i have all those jee, i can help
done! Anyone need any hints?
jee got those two need the one up on the list a bit
I have mo4/5, and mo5/14.
to 6&7 to* ( ahuge weight) + large flightless bird change the last vowel from yew to second vowel, plural
jee, i bet you have a large hill, and maybe a small speck? there's also the full mo5, mu4 (atomic particle) and mu4 (homonym of those religious people in airports)
They mean long Vicuna -the me6 means long stone in Breton - The whole word does not translate into Welsh but the 1st 3 letters of the word mean wagon in Welsh.
do you have the me 6 - that is a brain membrane?
hows everyone doin today
he8
humiliatingly
lol I don't speak Welsh...but Welch..will someday be my last name..if I have anything to say about it! Guess I'd better get bilingual if I'm going to play this.
i also need the o...
shorty do you need help? that is related to a bunch of other he's
Shh, hurshy, you don't *smell* fishy!!
thank you JBsAnno but i'm sure if you came closer you would notice the stench :)
Let's compare, Hurshy: ta 4x1, 5x2, 6x1 te 4x5, 5x1, 6x2, 7x2 to 4x1, 6x1, 7x1 The only other t I have is the ta 4 from the second t
i dont have them I like to do the big ones first :p
i have two ta 4's cnan - little man...
and i am missing a ta 5/6 combo
well I would suggest starting with other he's - there is a set of he's today that are all interrelated - I got to the he 7 and he 8 by way of the other he's ...
loltnDaisy - I don't speak Welsh either. I loved the fact that many Breton words are the same as Welsh tho' They use ty for house and pont for bridge as we do. The Bretons are aslo very proud to be celts so they quite like Welsh people.
no, not a combo - had the sing but not the 6, so i'm just missing ta 5 now
Do what I'm doing, then, and troll (nice way) the log for clues. I have my own fishy pal right here {smack!}.
vybernan You are missing an si 7, if no one has done the research, wchih I just did.
ta 5 & 6 (pl): the guy at the circus who works with lions
ta5&6 at the circus you see the lion ta*** or maybe more then one
the one who ta 4 (or better the one who ta 5's)
got it inge, thanks
ok rycaut!
yeah turns out i'm missing the OTHER ta5 :)
Belated thanks for the info, Snowy! hurshy, on5/14 - sounds like an element
plural of the 4 hurshy -- same root
ta5 what the lion ta*** does
All you who are stumoped by he words; Begin with this: when you put a spell on something you have placed a he* on it, the other words build on that three letter word.
still looking for your little man from the first t
Hurshy all the ta 5s root from the docile word. The only one that doesn't is a ta 4
ok, see, i just thought i had put them in already. and either i didn't or they got et by the ether
it doesn't MEAN little man, it's a title, "little man ta4"
thanks for the O, vi!
hurshy on the o - it is a chemical term
ok, so now it's time for GWHIM! (read bio if you haven't played before :)
OOPs got to go & get dinner - BBL. Happy Babbling all
one A from top row
one m from second row (and i have the membrane)
one H
two S, one from each box
HI everyone!
2 r's from 4th row
ooh look it's FredandKate again!
one n from 4th row, and 2 n from second row
you have that which you order off of?
everyone remember ignorance is the best policy (wow that sounds wrong)
oh goody :-/
NowherePixie Hi!
yes i do rycaut
Oh, hurshy, now my head hurts! I just read your bio... I think I'll just watch from the sidelines, if that's allowed!
It is obviously something I have never read, seen whatever-- will try googling it as monkey typing hasn't produced anything either!
of course JB, as it says in my bio, the game is 100% optional
lol hurshy; that's their forte, but ja; know what you mean ;-) good grid today hurshy, isn't it? :-)
Mikey we meet again
the a from the top row shows up in a lot of grids...
yes i suppose it is a good grid, mikey
you mean ae4? i have that one.
oh no we don't.....sidesteps widely
one of the n's is a nymph...
Hi everyone it's Fred!
well, i mean it's an easier one today, hurshy; at least i'm finding that, so far.....but i'm only on the 'me' section now, 'cos i've had many distractions and had other things to do, so i've been working on it a bit at a time :-)
5 points to rycaut (man, there are so many ways to spell that nymph!!!)
So, Mickey, does GWHIM also involve dancing?
most of the others can be either A...
rycaut, they will count from the FIRST a they could possibly come from, left to right, top to bottom, that is why only 2 come from the second row A
How old is everyone
hmm, JBsAnno? what on earth is 'GWHIM'? :-/
mikey was sidestepping the troll, not playing GWHIM, JB :)
do you have tha a 5 - to see foregiveness?
Read hurshy's bio... I can't explain it!
yes i do rycaut :)
oh no here we go :/
hurshy - what do you use to generate that information?
what, shorty? the troll? or do you not like GWHIM?
JBsAnno and hurshy; what is 'GWHIM'??? :-/
the troll LOL
rycaut - pros can see how many come from each box. the fact of how they are attributed is just something i figured out myself.
do you have the Indian god - a 4?
So sorry, reading too fast. Been in and out, didn't realize there was a *real* troll. I'm still upset that there's a ripoff of Babble in Dutch and that Dr_God can't do much about it (except maybe a flood or a good hailstorm). And other things.... Also, I meant MIKEY!!
indian god - no i don't think i have that!
Hi everyone!
5 more points for you, rycaut!
I thought the ripoof was in Danish...?
hi cassie
danish, yes, not dutch
hannah lou hello!
hmm, ok JBsAnno.....i didn't realize there were any ripoffs of Babble around.....but in any case, will someone *please* tell me what 'GWHIM' is supposed to mean? :-P
mikey - read my bio
hi hurshy and mikey!
hello, cassie :)
Seeing as Dr god ripped ideas off of Boggle and Scrabble, I don't think there's much cause for complaint in having a Danish version ripped off of him! Especially as he is hardly offering a Danish version himself.
<brings out the M&M's> Hey, Mikey, hurshy is multi-Babbling, that's what I'm getting from her explanation. Looks like fun, but I'm just watching! <hands over the bag>
Still can't find that darn ta 4 -- what is the point count?
hi hurshy!
lol
Finished! :D
do you have the two r's that are used in cooking (enzymes)
Guess What Hurshy Is Missing!
I'll be on in 5 minutes!
cnan - 4/4 - like a tuber's nickname w/o last letter
ok, hurshy? i'd read it before, actually; but i don't get involved in anything auxilliary to Babble....doing these grids takes enough of the time i don't really have :-P lol; anyhow, i *still* don't understand why JBsAnno's asked me if 'GWHIM' involves dancing? :-/
because you sidestepped, mikey, and she was confused
hi, Cassie!
rycaut - i do not think i do - you may have 10 more points coming!
oh, ok hurshy! lol
And now Mikey's confused! ...my work here is done! <grin> but I still have 67 words to go
How many word in the puzzle
Hurshy -- isn't that one off the 2nd t? -- I have it -- I'm looking for the one I'm missing off the first t
rycaut - help me out with these enzymes, i don't think i've heard of them. 10 points for you for guessing them though!
lol; don't flatter yourself there, JBsAnno.....i'm in a perpetual state of confusion in here.....nothing new there! ;-) hehe!
Speaking of going, I must. It's been fun, y'all, and I'll BBL, but right now - time to declutter my desk!
oh, well you said you only had one ta4 so i assumed you had the root of all the other words and didn't think about the boxes.... do you have 2 ta 4's after all?
one of them is an i 5 from the grid backwards... (with an extra letter)
cnan, looked back at your list and maybe you are missing a to4, then. classic babble weirdo?
Spreading confusion and chocolate whenever I Babble... It's good to have a goal! Just so you know, I'm going to check in every now and then. My computer is on my messy desk, and it's very tempting to keep playing and ignore the clutter! But I want to surprise my husband when he returns on Thursday with a "made over" living space, all clutter banished for good!
your not the only confused one whew too many drugs I think
yes!! -- from the first t, I have ta 4x1, 5x2, 6x1 te 4x5, 5x1, 6x2, 7x2 to 4x1, 6x1, 7x1
oh, and the other one is a 5 without the double cons? cause i had the 5. so now i got the 6 too, but i still need one more R then.
I'm back everyone!
That was it, Hurshy -- thanks
lol, JBsAnno; but i couldn't have been much of a challenge, 'cos i'm already perpetually confused! :-P
yw cnan - sorry i didn't read more carefully in the first place!!
and.....i don't consume chocolate :-P
do you have the bird feather/quill? (r 5)
no problem, Hurshy
don't.... consume... chocolate... !!! *hurshy fights for breath*
I'm 18 how old is everyone else?
Mikey, you mean there is no imitation chocolate on the market, made of carrrots or some other veggie?
Older than that! :)
aha, rycaut, no i don't think i have this quill!
WHAT YOU DON'T EAT CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!
Help!!! - Mikey needs an analyst - he doesn't eat chocolate!!
there is imitation chocolate - carob
Thank you Vicuna for answering my question
Hey, it just means more chocolate for the rest of us.
Old enough to be your grandmother, Cassie
not at all, cybernan; i'm raw vegan, and i don't consume anything with any animal product (including dairy) in it.....hence, i'm exceedingly healthy :-) but, let's not get into that here and now! ;-)
You all know that eating dark chocolate every day lengthens your lifespan?
Ooh -- I would never survive on a vegan diet -- you're talking to a chocoholic here!
i suppose there is, Inge; but i'm not all that interested.....i've just never had much of a sweet tooth; for anything other than fruit, really :-)
don't know about that, Inge; but i'm quite sure my diet and lifestyle do, in any case ;-)
gotta go - good luck everyone!
wait rycaut, what is the quill i can't find it!
bye rycaut
okay down to one word left and it's still that stupid re 6/18 i have the 2 on the bottom of the list and one after the re 5/10 need the next one pls before my brian blows.
although, who can say; lives get shortened by things unforeseen all the time.....accidents, etc :-/
OH SO THATS WHY YOU WERE SO QUITE when ANGELA and me were talking about Lobster
Is "brian" your husband, Sheryl! LOL!
all of the re 6/18's are based on other words in the grid...
sheryl - it's confusing bc so many re's with same point values - i have 5/10, two 6/18, 5/10, two 6/18, 5/10, for the end of my re's - where are you missing one?
Yea, life's a b**ch and then you die! Hi everyone!
shorty; i was probably doing the grid, or else i had nothing to contribute that you would've wanted to hear, no.....that, and i was probably talking with Heinrich here, or with someone on a messenger, too! :-P
or at least related to (as in an alternative spelling)
hurshy missing the one after the 5/10
sheryl, have you got the re with a double consonant in the middle, which I thought wouldn't fit?
hi, Chic! :-) well; don't know about that.....my life's pretty good, thankfully! :-)
hurshy then i have one 6/18 after the 5/10 need the other
sheryl - after WHICH 5/10??
re 6: to wed again and to "run into" again
Sheryl, do you have all the re 6/18 based on the word "Looking", then you are missing the chemical one. Just like re 5/10 but double the central consonant.
hurshy - there are a number more re's one I think you are missing is very sticky...
the quill the quill, my kingdom for a quill
think i have that one
so do you critisize people who eat meat and I won't ask you anymore questions :P
hey ho, I didn't think I would have time to finish today, but I just did. Now to get ready to go out to my concert. Hoorah for St. George
rycaut - i wasn't listing all my re's just the ones near the end... i think i need the quill you mentioned
Hi Mikey, I'm just having pain that I don't want today and it's stopping me from doing want I want to do...Grrrrrr!
inge that was it never thought of the old double ty so much finis, complete
the sticky one is the last re
aww whats wrong chic?
i have that, rycaut, i need the quiiiiiiill
afternoon all :) ...Happy St George's Day!!
how many re's are there?
another approach - think going to the country south of us again...
15 re's
YAY!!!! 1000 points to rycaut, thank you :)
15 re's
Thank you rycaut!!
That clue only works in USA, recaut
sorry rycaut
true - sorry should have clarified
shorty, my left hip is protesting and I can't walk without pain... it sucks!
jera, not if rycaut meant US, not us :)
hurshy the quill is begins with the bottom of your skirt he * and adds second vowel and that rare consonant.
You guys have a St George Day?
oh dear -- wonder which two I am missing?!!
aww I'm sorry do you have pain pills to take for it
two re 4/4's, cnan - and maybe you miss the first re 5/10
BTW, my roses are called "William Shakespere"
hi chic :) ...St George is the patron saint of England... and a bunch of other places too... and April 23rd is his day...
there very pretty I might add
Never much cared for that St. George character... poor dragon!
Yes I have pain pills absolutely....
are they not working
lol Jera :) .. St George is a very dubious character... ideal for a patron saint...
Cool, Sherb, I have a lovely painting of St George doing his thing...brb..
Have both re 4's -- first 5 is "trysted" again
GWHIM update: need one H, one S from each box - two of these words are 4's and one is a 6. 1000 points if you guess the six first.
afternoon sha
"refresh" for ST George
yeah, cnan, there's an earlier 5/10
shorty, haven't taken them yet...:-(
only h6 is a plural of the one who casts the spells
alrighty then, the 6 is an S!
Hurshy -- should say the only one I have -- missing an h also
Hurshy do you have the world se ****
oh well take them and be happy happy happy
s is the 6
sha howz jordan?
yes i do inge
I mean world se **** in sports, like baseball etc.
Finished. the grid was fairly easy today.
great picture, chic... :)
ohhhh cnan you trick me :)
do you have the one si6
take it back take it back it could be an H OR an S, cnan tricked me :) yes i have an si 6
thanx, sherb got it mostly for the horse. nuts about horses....
s 6's that I have so far: se x 2, si x 2, sn
Hurshy how about the se 6 : the doer of appearing? appears
I Give up to much guessing :P
hello folks. shorty, your icon is cracking me up.
excellent inge, 1000 points!
Make that se x 4
I didnt read your bio to the end, what do I get for 1000 pts?
hmmm... I've been wondering what Will has on his head, but didn't like to ask...
thanks LOL
Can I get a hint for the ae4/4 please? Already have the 5 and 6...
and what else are we hunting for?
it's a birthday hat! shorty was being very literal today.
its a birthday party hat
thanks inge -- didn't have it either!
umm...inge.... the points are kind of like on "whose line is it anyway?" ... they represent my love and affection though :) :)
teehee!! :)
scribble, there used to be a cartoon ae** flux
scribble it's usually an e3 word, but alt spelling
ae4/4 - long long time This word appears in every single grid. Type it every day before even looking at the grid, just as a precaution.
I Love that show
the ae 4 is the one for long time period
sha u there
all i have left is h4 and s4 from bottom - can probably monkey them
Oh Hurshy, I am touched.
TY inge!!!!!!
si4 - from bottom you should get easily, hurshy!
yes, i have the trig function
What am I missing from the a's (two)? ae 4, 5, 6 am 5, 6, 4, 5, 5 at 4
there are two si 4 from the bottom, same four letters, alternate the two after SI
at 5/10, nan
thanks leslie -- the other?
i'm not that far yet :)
another at4 cnan
inge - i can't!
ok I have some cleaning to do will BBL BYE BYE Everyone PS I think we lost Mikey
Not lost, just misplaced. I'm sure he'll turn up.
Hurshy I think I meant the hi's from the middle row.
thanks, Hurshy will do some monkey typing-- have the miniscule particle
yes the other is an indian god cnan inge - THANKS, now that i can do! 5 points!
bye shorty!
ah - vi - i had the REGULAR trig function but not the hyperbolic one!!! i'm done!!!
thanks, Hurshy -- the clue helped!
afternoon sharron
congrats hurshy!
at5/10--a + to4/4 (music term)
i know, cnan - it helped me when inge gave it (it was you wasn't it inge) just sound-wise
^*^*^*^*^*FIREWORKS^*^*^*^*^*^ * for hurshy!!!!!!
ty leslie :)
ty scribble :)
@*@*@*@A*@*@*@*fireworks*@*@*@ *@*for Hurshy Sorry, I am still practicing with fireworks
ty inge :)
Congrats to you Hurshy --- still have 13 to go and if there's a trig term in there, I'm done for!!!
inge, it kinda looks like your fireworks are cussing ;)
*announcer voice* and thanks for playing... Guess What Hurshy Is Missing!
TWO trig terms cnan, TWO :)
eek, i'm done for, too, nan
ok can I ge a clue for the in 6/18, please?
that trig term is latin for" without", does that help?
well one is pretty much the most basic trig term there is, and the other is hyperbolic, so you change the last letter of the first one
in6 - unlikely plural, chic
no -- french is my only other language -- and that very limited
the basic trig term is a homonym of a STOP si**
in6/18 - pl of previous in 5 (though how an adj gets a pl, I don't know)
oh ok nan - two si4's - one of the seven deadlies, then add two different letters on the end
hi everyone! i'm having trouble with the to6 and to7...any hints?
vi - i think it's like with shoes - leather uppers... somehow something has inners
Hurshy -- you don't understand -- the last math I took was 45 years ago -- and then only the basic -- I was useless!
No just shooting circular designs!
well I didn't even try that because it makes no sense..thanx, Vicuna
well cnan, that's why i gave you a really easy clue at 12:55
Quite possible, hurshy, but you said a word, ha ha ha ha!
oh DOH, i am so silly.
hi hurshy
shhh, hurshy said a word...
had them!! -- didn't know they were trig terms -- just words that often appear in puzzles and have something to do with math!!
em7/32? has there been a clue, for i am without one.
hellooooo hannah louloulou
em7 - boards you use to file your nails
how u doin
em7/32 - lots of those boards people can file their nails with
cheers, thanks hurshy and vicuna!
to 6 add the thing people call you except change vowel in the middle there
i'm doing ok, how are you doing hannah lou?
vi - were you here when i mentioned i saw robert sean leonard up close and personal in the market in williamstown, cause he was there for the theater festival
my brain is blocked on the last am 5/12
No, I missed that. Yowza, hobnobbing with celebrities! (You didn't really hobnob, I suppose, just bask in the presence.)
ah, lovely, got it as soon as i typed that :)
change the last letter on the other am5/12
he's a lot more muscular that you would think and he was hanging out with some pretty scary looking people, so i did not try to hobnob
am after prayer word with a cross letter, for the full symbollic effect
While there is a puase in the chatting I will bow out. No doubt I will lurk later again.
THAN you would think
bye inge, thanks again!!!
bye inge!
en5,12 and 7,32? I'm just not seeing them today...
ty hurshey, got it!
What play was he going to be in? Something in which scariness was part of the role, or do you suppose he's like that on his own account?
en5 - icky icky - cleans you out, as they said... 7 is the plural (parallels the way stigma is pluralled)
Bye, inge.
en 5 a refreshing internal irrigation
to7?
hmmm... vi, it was like 6 years ago so i don't remember what play (i didn't go to see any of them...). but HE didn't look THAT scary, it was mostly his friends.
to7 is pl of to6 no wait it was more than 6 years ago... i think it was 8 years ago
lol, i'm an idiot, thanks! was trying to look for a different word completely. ok, back to cleaning now.
or even 9... yeah, 8 or 9
I like to tell people that I danced with Mick Jagger once. It's my only celebrity claim to fame.
my how time flies.
I danced, he danced, we were in the same large room...
lol how intimate, vicuna
well it's a pretty good one, vi :) i saw other celebs in williamstown but i missed the really cool ones like gwyneth paltrow and paul newman. i saw eric stoltz and the lady who played susan on friends though...
lol vi!
Which h am I missing? -- Have 9 he's, 2 hi's and 1 hu
an unpronounceable hi4, cnan
another hi cnan
another hi4 - probably the unlikely-looking one made by reversing the last two letter of one of the others
You nailed it Vicuna -- thank you! -- and others
You're welcome, cnan.
10 words to go, but must leave them for later -- tee time coming up in 1 and a half hours so better have some lunch and get going.
i'm back for a few minutes -- the sun is out and it is warm -- really can't justify spending too much time inside... happy day, all!
hmmm, i never pictured canadians golfing
hi nan, bye nan!
bye stidmama
on 5/14?
Well, in Nova Scotia they must!
Why on earth not Hurshy ? -- it's why we spend our winters in Arizona!!
i dunno cnan, i'm just silly :)
good point vi
lol -- logging out ;)
i didn't know you spent winters in arizona, either
sorry leslie - thought vi would take it - on5 - ends like many chemical element names
oh geez, think i monkeyed everything but that. thanks hursh
Oh, I guess I let down the team, LeslieAnn and hurshy. I was momentarily away from the chat in order to procure some chocolate-based sustenance.
vicuna -- that's what I'm missing! *off to find chocolate*
Mornin' all!
well, as long as you share we won't hold it against you
choc based sustence is vital
wassup, wassup?
hi wassup. i always want to say wasssssssssssssssup but i imagine that's old by now :)
Leftover chocolate eggs for all!
I'm enjoying my special k red berries. It's 11:20 and we all just woke up. :)
talking of food... bbl...
Believe it or not LeslieAnn, you're the first Babbler to do that.
hmmm, i think i'll spend some time storing up future icons
really. i've held back just about every day :)
that's because the rest of us showed better manners... ;-) Hiya LeslieAnn!
that's a true part. hi stid.
Leslie, feel free to waaasssssup me anytime
me6/36 after the stone monuments?
sorry, bonk, don't have it yet
Me neither.
thanks anyway leslie, i'm just another of those monkeys, waiting for hamlet to appear on the screen
oh i thought you were done vi it's some sort of membrane - the big point letter comes at the end
how appropriate for shakespeare day, bonkler :)
or for tomorrow - pig day - "hamlet: the story of a young pig"
I've still got 18 to go. I'm spending too much time chatting to get words with any efficiency.
me36is a 3letter word for males + opposite of out + x
thanks oggy. don't know if these monkeys would have ever gotten that!
ty oggy -- the best point word I've found so far (almost halfway)
thanks oggy for making it plain. lol thanks for others too.
nobody laughs at my classic muppet joke???
LeslieAnn, the hitch is that we've got only ten monkeys each, and it takes an infinite number to get Hamlet!
sorry hurshy, to quote from yesterday's grid: haha
shoot, i knew there would be a problem with this somewhere
hurshy, i laughed.
Poor hurshy. Wocka wocka!
Hello. Barbie Juliette wants on5/14?
on 5: if the n were a p, then it would come from poppies
and how about some clues on those "stone monuments" me 6 and 7?
obviously an idiot clue, cause the stone monuments didn't help :)
*jumps into the idiot line* stone monuments didn't help me, either!
anyone have a clue for the last si6/18?
ty stidmata
me6 - males + employ - e
yay thanks vicuna
ty Vicuna!
You're all so very welcome! (smiling and waving graciously)
me6/7 3letter word for male + her but change the e for another vowel + s for the 7
i'm halfway, gotta go outside... later, all!
bonkler si6 is a type of alarm + s. used in the war.
missing the 1st two me 5/12s, among many others. any help?
oggy i have the claxons, i'm after the last si6. unless i've jiggered my list again
me5 referring to the mind, ends on first vowel
bonkler you have jiggered your list, they are the last two.
2nd me5 is males+ 2letter word for thank you.
thanks bonkler
the sound of one hand clapping, is that of the clammy palm of witlessness, impacting my forehead. thanks oggy lol
bonkler you're such a poet
why thankee miz leslie ann, but i'm just a humble canadian fella. and with the echo of the slap, ringing in my ears, i aimed the monkey lower in the alphabet. and now i am done. thanks oggy for some crucial clues and to everyong else for standard babble cool and assistance.
congrats bonkler!
i can't get the ae's today
i have the ae 4.4
ae 5 - a + lake e*** (one of the great lakes) and plural, 4 is a + a long time
ae** flux ae*** an eagle's nest + plural
ae5 and ae6 - eagle nest and nests
congrats bonkler.
any clues for the em 5 & 6? they're among the last ones i need...
em5 + 6 variation on middle east religious leader(s)
e + "i" + hospital show on nbc
ty bonkler...not sure why i didn't see those
no prob. i often stare right at the simplest of words, utterly baffled. hence the palm print on my noggin.
so, what about clues for em 7/32 and en 7/32? Please?
i can't remember the ae eagle's nest word. it is right there...
en 7 starts the same as en 5, then adds consonant + vowel
em7 stumped me for a long time, the pocket files that nice ladies use to sharpen their claws ;-)
a + ee 5/10, drop an e
that en...I swear I tried that!
bookgrrl ae + rhymes with canadian whiskey
im off see you all 2morrow.
thx. i wasn't spelling it right. how about EN 7
thanks guys!
cheers oggy
en 7 is en 5 with cross letter, first vowel
thx bonkler. how about he 7 and 8
thats me finished
thats me done
bye all
congrats sha and hannahlou!
way to go hannah lou
he5 the dark magic user +2 vowels, then plural. the vowels aren't in an intuitive order.
wtg sha
well done sha and hannah!
thanx blocker
bonkler i mean lol
bleugirl did you find the clue? the vowels are arranged like the german spelling of three
thanx LeslieAnn
ok my last two: ne 6/18 and re 6/18 (between re + a number - e and to look at again)
ne6/18 n+emergency room, pacman vowel, vowel with a dot and the pluralising letter
thanks bonkler i got it but don't understand the reasoning of the "pacman vowel"?
re6 to take a chair again
ooh, b/c that's what he kind of looks like?
ee looks like pacman...or i'm getting tired
well my mum will be on here soon
oh how embarrassing, i should have gotten that. thanks, bonkler, i'm done!
cheers leslie ann! congrats
se 7/28 & te 7/32?
oh, nice job Leslie!
te 7/28 is a plural of the 6 before it
hmm, yeah, don't have the 6 either.
same with the se 7
te 6 - an alt. way of spelling "go te**!" + hospital show and plural
se 6 - calm, tranquil (and plural)
got em all. thanks!
15 to go!
Hi everyone - any clues on me6/24
se 8/45?
me 6/24 - males + offering someone a job - e
se 8/45 - someone who sits next to you on the train (compound word)
those compound words always throw me off. thanks! got it
Good afternoon/evening all. I'm starting late today so hope the grid isn't too unkind!
Hi, Haz Hi everyone else too!!
hi haz. you won't have a problem, but it's a toughie today
thanks LeslieAnn - got it!
Hello periwinkle - how are you?
missing 6 re's and 3 se's. Ugh.
Haz, I am doing very well, just got my income tax refund. first one in 8 years, the sun is out, life is good.
That sounds onimous, wassup!
I don't know why, but the res aren't there! :)
An income tax refund - how nice to get some money back from the government! No wonder you're happy!
I'm going to go enjoy that sun now. No more laptop for this afternoon. I'm sure I'll see many of you at the flip though! Good day!
Have a good day, wassup.
ok, i'm going to take off unless anyone needs any clues?
Think I need all the help I can get!!
lol need anything in particular?
this is only my second grid and I just can't seem to leave it - I'm totally hooked already
me6/36 anyone, have the me7/36
I am working backwards today, plowing through the re's... forcing myself to not save them for last like I usually do...
me7/36 is the plural of me6/24 - (large standing stones)
peri, me + the number before ten, drop the last vowel and make the highet point letter
Sorry - ignore that!
Haz, I don't have the singular of that word yet
Afternoon, evening and Hi all.
Hello FMitch - how are you?
Haz, I have the words you are referring to.\ LeslieAnne, thanks, what an unusual looking word
Greetings, FMitch!
Hey Haz, didn't se you there! Just finished printing 1000 pages, printer has died and I am knackered. but only have 8 words left to find. And am ready for client meeting tomorrow.
all right, folks, i'm going to go. have a great day everyone!
Well, it sounds like you've had a busy day - is the printer's condition terminal?
Good morrow Jera, fine frend! How doth the day day treat you?
Haz, printer will be ok for non client use but will have to get new one in the next day or two for cleint work.
missing an me4/6- have the thing you look at in a restaurant
At least printers aren't as expensive as they used to be - but it's a nuisance you could probably do without.
peri - possibly the sound a cat makes?
Hi, FMitch, thanks so much, that was the one I needed, always seem to overlook those cat sounds and I have a cat too
y/w peri, it's a sound that can be spelt so many ways :)
missing an ma4/5 - have partner, these 4 letter words are driving me nuts today
Not too bad, FMitch, been bery casual with the puzzle today... lotsa family time & on-line research... started at 7 & still not done...
Jera?
ah; so that's where you disappeared to a while back.....wondered why you'd dropped off our chat ;-)
Yes, I wander off sometimes during a conversation lull... sorry!
Well Jera, its good to see you anyway :) I don't have time time to catch up as much as I used to.
re5/22?
Done with the re's, yay!
peri... go south of the border again...
Jera, thanks for the great clue
:)
Haz - you still there?
Yes - still hunting words.
only have two of the re6/18 - to take a chair again, and something used to make custard or pudding
How are you finding the grid so far?
to6/21 and to7/32 please
It's okay - some old favourites. I'm getting very fond of those eastern sultans.
back later... family beckons...
The bottom part of the grid seems to be more productive than the top.
down to my last 3 finally :} does anyone have clues for em 7/32, en 7/32 or ne 6/18
em7/32 - plural of the type of nail files some ladies use.
yea - potentates rule!! LOL
ty got it haz
help needed with to6 and to7 please
to6 - is formed by adding a personal pronoun to the preceding to4/4 then pluralising for the 7
Still haven't got ne6/18 - any clues??
thanks, Haz, more new words for me
26 words left to find, bbl
I only knew it from doing linguistics for a year many moons ago.
candy - I haven't got it yet, so can't help.
i'm still trying too, but no luck yet
Have just reached 70 words and I am ready to pull my hair out.
Don't do that, candy - is this 70 words on your own?
ne6/18 is ne and anagram of move up
candy, after the obvious 'ne' part, 'ne6,18' rhymes with the organs of vision....same vowel again, followed by the the next vowel in succession ;-)
oh candy; lol.....that's what i'm *always* saying when i get frustrated, too.....but that would be rather a *lot* of pulling, in my case :-P hehe!
ty mikey
Hello.
one to go! does anyone have a clue for en 7/32
ach, candy; i'm hopeless at giving clues sometimes :-/ so sorry; forgot to mention the 'r' after the 'ne' part there :-(
for what, lgorms? :-/
To your en5/12 - add a shortened version of 'thank you'
yes, lgorms; 'en7,32' is the preceding word, plus a slang 'thanks' :-P lol; thanking someone for that?
ty haz; found it :} can i help anyone else now that i'm done before i retire for the day?
Congratulations on finishing, igorms!
Eventually - I have learned a new word and am almost bald in the process. Thanks for the help
thanks! i wish i could do it without the clues, but oh well
evening all, fantastic day so I thought I would finish it with a bit of babble :)
lgorms; ask Haz here.....i used to drive everyone mad begging for clues (and 'tearing my hair out', candy), til i learned a few more words, and grew more accustomed to finding them, via figuring them out, guessing, and 'monkey typing', etc! :-P
KatieW.....hiya!!! :-)
Igorms - it comes with practice. And nobody minds giving out clues.
Hiya Mikey, stopping at Mum's so don't have MSN but hope you & H had a good weekend
Igorms - it is all part of the fun of babble!!!
oh yes we have thanks, Katie; just a quiet one.....been doing more spring cleaning, and just taking it easy some of the time, too.....playing some board games, etc! ;-)
thats me done
nite all
Good night ruthy.
have a good night all
Good night igorms.
Gotta go too - have a good evening all, and hope to see you tomorrow.
Thanks FMitch - see you tomorrow!
Haha This sure is a talkative groupp
I was thinking the same thing :)
haha yeah
Hey Mikey...I was reading your little run-in with the troll yesterday. Very strange...
Hellllooooooooooo *listens for the echo in the biiiiig empty room*
I just cam back to lurk. Is really nobody home???
Still here - getting words.
newbie here. the em words are stumping me big time! got the 4/5 but the 5, 6, 7, are seriously impeding my sanity Any help?
Apparently there was a mass exodus from the chat log...was it something I said??? :)
em7 - plural for nail file.
I've only gotten 2 of the 4 em words Tara... Haz just gave you one...the other sounds like the plural of the letter "m"
em5/12 - em, plus start of 'strange' or 'ghostly' gives a different rendering of an easter sultan. Pluralise for the em6
many thanx! found the 5 and 6 monkeytyping just broke 100 words so may even finish today
I'm back for my final 25...
willing to give clues if you ask.
I'm not feeling quite so alone anymore...sniff sniff :)
I don't talk much but enjoy the chat. It's a lovely group! You've ovbiously been friends for a while...
Angela it happens to all of us. This a.m. I was wondeirng wy noone talked for 30 minutes and was convinced I had done it. Just ask Jera>
good evening everyone:)
Hi Jean 1953. Is that your birthyear?
I've finished. so will head off - now that I've stopped chattering, it will leave room for others! Have a good evening everyone.
Hi, Mikey--how's your eye today? I can't see either one in your new mugshot.
yes it is inge good vintage lol
Actually I belong to an even earlier vintage. Was in highsschool when you were born. HEhe.
inge - tara - I enjoy the chats greatly even when I'm not talking. I have only been really participating for a couple of months but everyone has been so nice and welcoming, I feel like I've known them for a long time. That's why it was so strange to see noone say anything for a few minutes :)
evening Jean
thats brilliant this babble certainly keeps the brain matter alert doesnt it
Need help with an mu4... I have the elementary particle...
hi angela
Hetty, I think Mikey is gone for a while. He pops in and out.
the other mu 4: first four letters from the word referring to city, like mu**cipal parking lot.
Never mind, I monkey typed it...
re mu/4 bonds can be issued by a country or a state or a mu** (short form...)
i love moneky typing, though i often forget what i've already tried
Considering how many chat logs go down the drain quickly, I am impressed by Dr. God's achievement. Though he has competition in Denmakr now.
what do you mean Inge?
Hi all back for more; I'm on the re's...ugh...
refresh for the 'william shakespere' roses
anyone have a clue for the me 6/24?
A Danish participant on our game copied the whole thing and put it out in Denmark in Danish. Dr. God told us about it on the log yesterday. He is quite concerned. I think that with only 4.5 million Danes and billions of English speaking potential players, eh has nothing to worry about.
I missed that on the log. I have been working out of town the last month and haven't played as often as I would like. Very intersting though.
me 6/24 is a prehistoric monument Me* to Boyz plus female possession h** with different vowel in mid.
me 6/24 is a kind of standing statue, next one is its plural, me + last letter referring to males + direct case pronoun for she (change vowel to third vowel),
oops! I meant me 6/36. And after those 2 great cluse - sorry!
bewitchers
me 6/36: first three letters of the one we just clued, add opposite of out and the rarely used letter in the grid.
yup. definitely would not have gotten that one. Tx Inge.
that 6/36 has something to do with brain membrane, I cant call up its definition for some reason.
sorry my meds just kicked in! that was for he 6/36 but had ya thinking...
hi all -- well, didn't get outside much after all. headache. sometimes the sun does that. oh well. better enough to try for a few more words. did I see that DrGod is worried about someone copying Babble? I think that's sad. Is there anything we/I can do to help?
I knew exactly which one you meant chich - I was going to let it slide though...see my post of 4:28 ;)
No Chic, I just figured you were calling us names!!!
chix de clix!
hey stidmama - sorry about the headache :( It's pouring here...
yesterday Dr. God was searching for someone who could trasnlate Danish to English.

NUT!! Long time. Good to see you.
Hey 'nut!

hi periwinkle, nut, all! small victory for me just now, got the word that means "ages" without help (or a list)! going for the list now, though... :-)
What's shakin' bacon??
angela! yes, i began to think i would only see you in the presence of trolls.
on 5/14 take the back end of the other highly radioactive element not uranium
Peri: think of that vvegie that makes you weep. change last two letters to ending of for**, (talking convention)
just workin' the grid; I only have 33 to go.
Apparently I missed a good one yeseterday. They went after Mikey and Hurshy with a vengance!

Refresh for a more playful Puck now that I'm done...
tarajane, thanks, but your clue is not helping me
can you still access yesterday's log and if so what time was that about, Angela?
I thought maybe there was a play about a pig I was missing...or maybe he wrote Charlotte's Web...
inge, trying to figure out the on but can't get that ending right :(
3rd se 6/21?
Um...I would say sometime around 9am?? I'll see if you can still acess it...the screen name was fredandkate.
peri -- a clue I tried this morning was to think of it as if the n were a p ... poppy derivative
i'm free chix, but no late games tonight, i actually have to go back to work tomorrow...ugh!
first time babbling - how am I suppose to know how many words there are in each day's babble?
tarajan's clue gave the ending on the word urani**
they were on earlier today but everyone ignored them and they went away quickly. either that of DR God yanked their chain
on 4/14 plut*****

justformarge: look up Lickety splits page in the list of resouerces on the top right of this page,
tarajane and inge, thanks so much, just figured out the on5 word

justformarge--go to licketys babble clues at the link to the right. (2nd one up from bottom)
te6/21 and te7/32 anyone
Chic - the first post by fredandkate was at 7:45am yesterday. I didn't read the log early this morning to see that they were on again.
Does anyone have the first am5/12 and the following am6?
sure chix
thanx, angela are you on IM yahoo?
Peri, try the te4 (baseball te4 misspelled) + suffix + plural
te 21 and 32, Build on te 4/5 above, like the football crew word but double same vowel.
nevermind, found the te6 and te7
inge - thanks !
nope, no yahoo IM
Can anybody help me please?? A box popped up on my screen that says I have an infected file. Virus name Exploit-IframeBO. It says the infected file cannot be cleaned. I should delete the file and replace it w/a clean copy. My options seem to be: Stop Clean Delete Move File to Exclude When I press delete nothing happens. Help me please, I am clueless about anything but Babble.
te6/18 and te7/28 anyone?
am 5 is related to em 5/12
there's bunches of us on it playing literati at times
So, Inge, can you please help me with the em5?
gramma, i can't help, but you have all my empathy. If you have Norton or another anti-virus program you might be able to get help from that?
Good to know chic. I actually was reading Mikey's bio and read about Literati. I joined as "harley.deluxe" just to check it out.
stidmama, I ran 2 programs and it didn't touch it!
there is a double 2nd vowel in the em 5
Peri, use the adolescent word and add similar endings of your previous questioned words.
JeeWhiz, just found the te6 and te7 right before I saw your clue
Thanks Angela, that was what I needed....:)
stid, I am desperate to finish this puzzle. Can you help me? I have 6 left. Monkeytyped my brains out.
Hello?? Anybody else, help me, please?
yw Jee
I wish I could gramma - I'm not much of a techie though...
gramma, The only thing I can think of is for you to use your Antivirus program
2nd re 5/10
Angela, we'd like you to join us on yahoo...
wassup, I am only half done, myself. Slept for two hours just now with a bad headache... gramma -- it looks like your problem is related to windows xp... have you tried going to the windows website for info?
I feel bad not being able to help out a fellow vermonter :(
oh, sorry stid, thought you were done. anyone else with clues?
I only go to Babble. I don't know how this could happen.( Gramma says...sobbing hysterically..)
re5/10 tree sap
missing an ne4/5 have the one that sounds like a girls name
wassup, when you are introduced to some1 again.
er5/10?
chic - do you mean Literati or IM?
gramma -- sometimes these things come in on email, or from following an innocent link.... it's not your fault, but the fault of the nasties who make these viruses. now relax and focus: if you can play babble, you can definitely work through this! ((big hug of support))
gramma - you definitey have a virus. What programs did you run? you may try the online website for those progams for more information about removing it. I like the norton anitivirus help and the hijackthis webiste.
er 5/10 spooky
I have both of those. I'm thinking my list is screwed up... hmmm. i don't like the re's and the se's. 5 left. Arg.
angela, literati
ne 4/5, use a double vowel in the middle.
peri sorry looking at wrong woord ignore me i'm an idiot!
do you have the same names over there?
Tarajane, do you mean ee5? Or does the er5 mean the same?
Angela, IM put your email add. in your profile for one min. and I'll send you an invite
circe and stidmama, it's from Mozilla
Gramma, my S/O is a computer tech. Now, do you know the name of the virus that got you?
er 5/10 is the plrual or er 4/4 and it's a bird, a kind of sea eagle (not much help, huh? I think I got it monkey typing)
JeeWhiz, thanks
it's the re 5/10 right after the 5/22. any help?
I've never tried their info, but you can still probably look it up there. Generally I have found that someone else has always had the virus before me and the forums explain what to do about it...
Thanks Taraj, guess I needed the fish.
chic - I don't think I set up a yahoo email address when I signed up. I'll go do that now...
tndaisy, it's called Exploit_IframeBO
Peri: all the er words have to do with the birds try a vriation of making money / salary
For the re5, use the 'n' twice, but not together.
OK Gramma...now, what anti-virus program do you use?
Angela , you don't need that but if you do go to Instant messenger and signup them put my name in and we'll be able to talk chicashton
Spybot and ad-ware
wassup, re plus the 1st 3 letters of a number after 8
right thats all I can do tonight good night everyone happy babbling :)
Those aren't anti-virus programs...those are anti-spyware programs. You need something like...AVG or Norton or Macafee. I prefer AVG myself. There is a freeware version of this, on www.grisoft.com
got that one. thanks guys. now four more to make me crazy.
gramma, you might want to go to mcafee.com and subscribe to their virus protection. It will lead you through what to do.
I'll try and be right back.
missing an se6/21 have the one who sews
en 5/12 and en 7/32 ?? Please?
good night, jean!
Peri, do you have the sperm one?
I like AVG better, bcs it doesn't (usually) conflict with any programs you might be running. Norton and Macafee do not "play well with others"
JeeWhiz, just found that one
Tarajane, think of a body cleansing for the en's.
chic - I'll keep your info and do that soon. I'm off to dinner in a few...
found the sse6/21
hay all... http://www.albinobla cksheep.com/flash/lolwtfomgbbq m8

gramma, if you're there, I just found this online: -- Update December 01, 2004 -- Microsoft has released an out of schedule patch to address the vulnerability exploited by this threat: http://www.microsoft. com/security/bulletins/200412_ windows.mspx
always up for a laugh - I'll keep trying

YVW, smaller
am 5" compare to em 5
did any one go look at lol when i posted it earlier?
JB, one of your re's is NOT "resex". I've tried that several times. Prudish Dr God won't take that one either.
smaller - just working out a clue for you but JBsAnno got there first with a brilliant clue.
There was a split vote last night whether it was a pig (looks like Olivia) or a kitty. I Google Imaged cats +ballet for that theme a few weeks ago, and got this picture of a twirling kitty in a tiny tutu.
nut, ? when was that?
what time posted, nut?
jbs - i like the tutu smaller - resex = when some fool thinks they were born into the wrong sex and has a dr try to fix it!
http://www.albinoblacksheep.co m/flash/lolwtfomgbbqm8
(humble bow) thanks, MAH! smaller, I can't tell you how many times I tried sex.

What # anniversary, nut?
very subtle, nut!! they need that kind of subtle
fifth anniversary - and he's got plenty of time since its in october. he did such a fabulous job of botching valentines day that i'm taking pity on him.
nut! we'll beat him up for you! how did he botch v-day?
We will be at 21 in November. Next year, after he graduates from his fellowship we can look at jewelry options!
Congrats! I remember our 5th year (I think!). What did he do that he needs to make up?
21?!!!! omg! no wonder you're so experienced with variations!!
smaller - it was something to the effect of... "oh f*&%^, its v-day, now i have to buy you something" so i told him not to bother, the bum.
jbs - fellowship? please expand on that one!
LOL! I needed this grid and you ladies to take my mind off current events... Thanks for keeping me laughing!
* takes a bow and links arm with jbs * now about those varying positions, do you keep notes?
evanonut - Google "steak & BJ Day" Now who's talking about sex?
After 20 years, I don't need no stinkin' notes!
hmmmm...always looking for outsider input you know!
Fellowship - additional medical training in a specialty after completing a residency. His 4 year Psychiatry residency ends in June (yes, I'm married to a psychiatrist, so watch what you say, LOL!). He is doing a year in Sleep Medicine, and will graduate to being a Sleep Specialist for people with sleep disorders due to various causes.

I'm back and fully loaded w/antivirus software. All to no avail :} I need help. What is w/this nasty bug? Could some1 help me please? It's called Exploit-IframeBO.
nope, ducks are sweet!
Tell all, mrp!
gramma, you may need professional help then.
which anti virus software did you choose gramma?
I quite honestly can't afford to take it anywhere.
tndaisy, I did the grisoft AVG.
gramma, it says that mcafee virus scan 8.01 can get rid of it
Cool! ok then...let me see if I can get Mikie's attention...and I'll get back to you. Don't give up!
8.0i - sorry
Where do I get that?
i don't know, i just googled it and the norton page said that.
it also recommended upgrading to sp2 from xp
TY evanonut. I'll wait for tndaisy and see what mikie says.
good idea on account of i don' t know much!
Ok, first...Mikie asked me to ask you...how did you first discover which virus you had? In other words...which program detected it so that you'd know what the critter was? The reason this matters is...every program seems to have different names for viruses, unfortunately. AVG might be able to fix it, but calls it by another name, you see. so...how did you first figure out the exact name of it?
Hello, everyone. Just popping in for a few minutes, anyone need a clue while I'm around?
I don't know. It says : infected file name C:\Documents and Settings\
Ok...but which program detected this infected file? Something's bound to have found it for you.
tndaisy, AVG recognized the virus by name; but, didnt have a patch? for it. It said it's from windows.
i bet it was her adware since that virus puts adware on your comp
hey knutter!
*thinking*
'ello, evanonut!
evanonut, you're probably right.
that's a new pic i believe - still adorable!
I'm at a loss; I went to AVGs encyclopedia of viruses...and it says it can't even find it. So I honestly dont know....AVG found it by exactly the name you first gave me? If it did...I don't know why it says it can't find it in search mode...weird.
tndaisy, thank you very much for trying. I'm at a loss *_*
missing the se4/4 after the plural sperm
I'll do some more messing around and see if I can find some way to eradicate this animal. I'm too stubborn to give up just yet.

Hello, Jera!
Hey all back to finish :) *just had to say that* :)
Knut she is simply beautiful :)
Hi, Faerie!
I'm back from SOGO (Orchestra).
the third se 6/18 anyone? please
my last word si4/5
Knut is that the latest pic of your littlie?
knutmeg -- glad you mentioned the new icon, I hadn't refreshed yet! What a lovely, wide-awake face!
i popped out just now to have a nose, there were cops at the top of the road.App a couple of youngsters lost control of their car, hit a wall and a car then tried to drive off(drink involved as far as i can tell), but the front wheel fell off when they turned into our road, then they ran from the police, but were caught quite quickly,
hey faerie - thats an interesting icon
Evan - don't you reconize it??? It's Shakespears Sister :)
my son came in after visiting a friend on foot, and said that the police were shouting at him, thinking that he might have been one of the two people in the car
I only have 2 se18's, jeffer... maybe you mean 21's?
si4/5 same as the previous si4/4 with the letter that comes 3 later after the second vowel in the alphabet instead of that second vowel se6/18- I watch the CSI se**** on TV all the time
no i don't, and i haven't even heard of sister...or do you mean its a picture of his sister ;-)
LOL they are a British rock band that I found on the web and well.....see what happened :)

O words left to find!!! I monkeytyped my last word, an si4/5. I am Done!!! Thanks for the help.
oops yes jera the third se 6/21 ty
Thank you, faerie! Yes this is the latest pic of my Liv. Just took it yesterday afternoon before we went out to Rockford to visit her great-grandparents and great-aunt
just googled pig, not sure where it came from actually
i dressed for the wrong day and haven't fixed it. too lazy
Just add common suffix to the 4/5 before it... one who does
knutmeg, thanks but I found the si4/5 before I saw your clue, very proud of myself. Another new word for me.
3rd se 6/21 - throw an second vowel+ consonant before teh curvy one onto the previous 4/5
Scatty - lots of drama going on around your place. got you heart rate up huh? I hate seeing stuff like that.

9:16 PM mrp
It has a chemical name ending...think of the element Marie Curie discovered.
back from dinner.... disappearing into grid *poof*
Templeowl, there are dolmens and then there are these things--ancient Celtic (or Druid) monuments..try following old boys with "her" (only change the middle vowel)
Dive in, stidmama! I threw some M&M's in there, go git 'em!
thanks JB! hi hetty! (disappears again)
oh, and once you have the singular form just bang on an"s"
hi there, mr. p! thanks, jb!
YW, Temple! I stand on the shoulders of giants - there are LOTS of great clues in the log today. I've been on & off all day. Hubby out of town seeing his dad (who is sadly debilitated by a stroke from last summer, but there is hope with a new medication).
Hi Temple!! Just need to call someone in Chigaco now!! BRB
shorty, I'm so glad you've honoured Shakespeare with your icon, even if it is whackified. Now if only we could find a good one for poor old St George (St Patrick and even St Andrew get far more honour.) Anyhoo, God for Harry, England and St George ( and she disappears over the barricades)Oh, and by the way, I can't find the final me/4,5----?
hetty, trade you the me 5 for one of the lat me 6 (I have the one that's used in restaurants...) which one do you need?
Hetty, think of something HUGE, a penultimate measurment.
stid, what did you have for your dinner, i only got as far as a sandwich
sorry to hear that. i should have checked the log but sometimes you just have to finish as quicly as possible.. of course, you HAVE to finish- LOL!
shorty - r u here?
we had pasta with "red sauce" usually we eat vegetarian, but today I used some turkey we had and added spices to make a sort of sausage. It was good.
scatty -- why did I think you were turning in for the night? isn't is very late in the UK?
Hey guys! what is the web address for the telephone directory in chicago please!!
mrp -- sometimes you can find that info on Yahoo...
mr. P - use whitepages.com
Oh, no, Temple, I didn't mean you SHOULD go check the log now, just that I saw good clues that I don't mind sharing. Thanks for the kind words!
thanks!
oh yeah Im here sorry just busy looking for words
no problem - was just trying to chekc out your icon! mine is othello...
Thanks sweetheart, but all I can come up with is MEGA and there aint no GT
This icon has garnered more "what is it really" comments than any I've used yet! Class - does anyone remember what it is?
hetty -- I'm a dunce. the me 4/5 you are looking for is related to the greek letter for "B" change out the first letter.
Hetty - change the G to the cross consonant that rhymes with G!
Hands, please, no shouting out of turn!
it's a dancing pigkitty! *pats self on back*
LOL, stidmama!!
whats a pigkitty?
i'm off to bed now, my daughter has just come in way too late for my liking so i can lock up now nighty night, see you all tomorrow, good luck with finishing the grid
stid, you made me snort! (and NO, it's NOT a PIG!)
How old is your daughter, scatty?
good night, scatty! here pigkitty, here pigkitty! *grin*
TE 7.32 - any clue pls
Hull stid, good you're still there t. The me/5 I have are 1) something that we women put up with (just take the "s" off the medical term) and 2)Latin for "mind",as at beginning of our derived adjective
ren -- we had a discussion last night about JB's icon. She says it's a cat, but I had always thought it was a dancing pig. So I have compromised.... (wicked giggle)
Grrrr...unt! *oh, no, it's coming true! Maybe it is a pig kitty!*
ah stuff it!! can't find the darn person I need on the telephone directory... but can find out their criminal record... according to the site I just fell apon!!
mrp, ain't a free society wonderful?
JB, you are really good for my soul. you'll never know how much i needed this conversation, but thank you anyway! :-) (((hug)))
my daughter is coming up 21, she doesn't live at home anymore, she is just visiting all her friends and us, well she is sleeping here
Okay, okay. <grin> It's a ballerina cat twirling in mid air, head cocked to the right, legs flung to the left, and a tiny tutu to finish off the look!
i have one me, two re and two si left... doing WAY better than I expected today.
lol stidmama!
hetty, did you get the me clue about the greek "B"?
Oh, good, I thought maybe she was in high school and hoped she wasn't in *too* much trouble!
Sounds like a song, stid! {{{HUGS}}} back. It's been a good Babble day for me too. TWO r words left!
jbs, if its a cat where is it's tail???????, def looks like a piglet performing a pirouette
*here we go again....*
It is a little stub,
got the last r's --- JB what are you missing?
anyone got a clue for the ee word?
rish -- think *scary* word, *spooky*
Yes Stid--TY I have the one you mention. I also have the restaurant list, the one that builds on it but changes the last vowel, the noise the cat makes, what we put on the table (Mmm that turkey sounds good!) and the french word for mother. Lickety says there is another one but grrr I can't find it!
jbs, i was a nasty mum, when Rachel was at school, she had to be in by ten, and when she went to college, 11pm, there is no reason to HANG around the shops in crowds after they close at night, that how they get into trouble, my son(16) has to be in around 9-30 /10pm unless he's at a disco or cinema
hetty -- do you have the me that "sounds like" the stuff you eat for dinner (turkey, ham, steak)? as in me** and greet?
That is like my house!
two left, both si... the last two... *squints eyes at grid* i think there's a pig somewhere in here, too!
rish - ee= scary, creepy - ee+letter after q+ 3rd vowel + 2nd vowel
Okay, just went hunting for it again on Google. Found the original on http://www.photoclub.by/images /council/329_council.jpg No tutu, tail is above bottom leg, pointing to the left. But it's still a CAT!!! Not a pig, or even pig-kitty!
dun dun dun DONE! (thanks again Lickety for the list!)
scatty, that was a give away!
wow here i thought maybe tonights was a small puzzle... i'm only at 55 and stuck, geez. i definitely won't be finishing this one :(
WE'RE PLAYING THE BABBLE FORM Of TELEPHINE TAG, STID. YES, I DO HAVE THE STUFF YOU PUT ON THE TABLE--we had rack of lamb toniught wiole you were enjoying your turkey. BUT ThERe's STill another one (agitation affects my typing)
GO MOM!
yeah stidmama!
i gotta say, it is so nice to see such a happy parent-child relationship as yours, stidmatt and stidmama. it makes me happy. just wanted to pop in and say that before i head to bed. :)
a friend of mine lets her 16 yr old, go home after midnight, he hangs around the kabab shop and plays on the fruit machines, when i asked why,(he stayed out so late) her answer was its the weekend and he has to learn how to be streetwise, he smokes(behnd her back) and at the weekends, he's usually seen with beer on him or staggering along the pavement, and nothing is said
Look out stid - he's telling on you!!! Oh, and here I am going on about icons when I still have 2 r's left!! Okay, right after the re 5/22 with the high value letter there's a 5/10 and a 6/18 right after that all my monkeys have not yet been able to type!
okay hetty and all, here are the me 4s in order: the stuff you put on the table a homophone for the previous (double vowel) opposite of "ladies" + round vowel restaurant list cat sound "only" me + ending of greek "B" (two letters)
well done stid
thanks hurshy -- "happy" not always, i'm afraid, but I hope always loving and with a se*** of humor!
scatty, we did not have to know that he smokes. That is <i>sick</i>. I'm a geek. The <i> etc. was HTML code. It makes it italic.
Believe me, scatty, your daughter is probably most happy in her secret heart that she has a mom like you (that waits up for her) than a mom like his. What's a fruit machine? I'm intrigued (while waiting for stidmama's clues...) <more M&M's, stid?>
well stidmama - the fact that he finds you humorous, cheers for you when you finish the grid... it's all very nice.
he 7/52 and 8/70? i'm confused by these words
TY Stidmama!
re + ***compoop (silly person) re + single hump cons + opp of out double the middle cons for the re 6
yw beazus... (what did i do right?)
jbs, a slot machine(game machine) that you 99% lose money in
you're just plain awesome, thats all Stidmama.
any clues for the em7?
he 7 and 8 end with GERMAN endings... don't know why! take the he 5 just before and add two vowels to the end for the 7, then add the plural letter for the 8
on second thought, maybe they're greek endings? quick, somebody smarter than me jump in!
.....aaaannnnnndddd away we go!!!!! DONE!!!!!!! Than ks stidmama - that's IT. <thinks about throwing a handful of M&M's in the air to celebrate>
stid, what does HTML mean?????
em 7 stumped me, too! the board that you use to smooth out fingernails, the plural form only
Thanks again, Stidmama. I can't believe how dumb I am. All this fret about the simplest word one could magine. So, when shall we three blankety-blank again? I wish I could return to the days when my son and I, and his 3 sisters, played scrabble together. It's lovely to see your son babbling right along. You're a lucky lad, Stidmatt
It is a computer code. Used for making web pages. HyperText Markup Language.
YAY JBsAnno!
thanks stidmama!
WTG JBs!
well done jbs ^*^*^^*^^*^*FIREWORKS^*^^ *^* for you
stidmama--for the he 7 do you add those endings to the he 5/14 or he5/22?
I hope to see you tomorrow, hetty :-) My grandparents all played scrabble, so did my folks, so did we growing up, and now we play scrabble with our kids. Families that play scrabble are WONDERFUL, it seems.
~~~~~JBS~~~~~ ~~~WINNER~~~
sorry scribble, to the he 5/22, which could mean "one who casts a spell"
scatty- is there a minimum gambling age in the uk?
TY so much stidmama!!!
my son loves to play scrabble as well, he also sneaks onto babble when i'm not looking and adds a few words. ( I'm not complaining though, he finds quite a few hard ones)
Right, i'm going now, my tablets are not working so i might as well go to bed and suffer lying down, see you all tomorrow if i can get out of bed, nighty night, for eal this time
one word left....last am 5/12
And, once last year we were at our Auntie Gloria's house. She is the FAMILY CHAMPION! At the moment, but we beat her as a team. She was so shocked!
Hi Everyone -- back for my last 10 -- had the best golf round of the season so far, this aft.
scatty *sending healing vibes your way* hope you feel better soon. bye.
'Sup cybernan?
hi nan! good for you on the golf!
all done!! anyone need a clue?
Great job abe!
young man -- " 'Sup " is not an appropriate way to greet your elders (or for that matter your mother's elders) *stern look* what's wrong with "good evening" or "hello" ?
YAY abe!
They are so old fashioned! I use 'Sup everywhere! Even... Oh, never mind....
ok. back to homework. thanks to all for clues and goodnight
how many words do you have, Matthew? need help with anything?
WTG Abe - could you spare a clue for the am 5/12 pls?
talk24 -- I don't think I said hello when you came in, come to think of it. Hi! with almost 2 hours to go still, you might be able to finish. :-)
35. Everytime Scott comes over he wants to play since he can't at home for family and personal reasons.
am 5/12 am+ sounds like what you listen with, change the second vowel. pluralize for am 6
Kaurie - i know you have to be 16 to play bingo, alot of fruit machines have (slot machines) have no -one under the age of 18 years of age. I think the lottery is 16yr's / could be 18 as well
wait, beazus, did you mean the second am 5/12?
Good job Scatty at no gambling. But, what about in games? (I am addicted to gambling in Triopoly.
I'm sorry, no, the first am 5/12...thanks.
okay, you have an hour before bed -- half an hour of "play time"
)
missing one e from the second row -- have weird, the potentate ones, the nail files and the 4/5 with no def.-- any idea of what I'm missing, anyone?
yw. goodnight all
TY abe, g'nite.
nan do you have the e with the high point letter?
am 5/12 -- same as em 5/12 with different first letter (arabic potentate)
sorry, didn't finish my thought. that one is e 4/9...
no -- that's the one stidmama -- thanks-- how many letters?
stidmatt, if money is the prize, you have to be 18 years old, if its something like easter eggs, you can play at the age of 16, no alcohol can be won without proof of age either(18)
TY cybernan.
got it -- thanks, stidmama
scatty -- *stern mama look* please go to sleep... your body will heal faster and you will feel better sooner if you can rest.
Does that mean I can't gamble in Triopoly?! Stupid question.
Oh, sorry, I thought you were my mom, Sorry.
Matthew, board games in the family or among friends don't count as gambling... our family does not gamble with real money -- ever. as Shrek says, "end of story"
and fifteen minutes left to play... do you have all the 7 point words today?
"Bye bye, see you later." Is the end of the quote.
more missing!!!! -- two m's have gone astray -- have: ma x 2, me x 11, mo x 3, mu x 2
there are 13 me
do you have me 6/36?
oh it's the stid family!! hi stid family!!!
I've been so disrrupted in the game - I've still got 98 to go, and now I have to work. Don't think I'll finish it! Oh well. I got 52 at least ;-)
Pleeze, need last word to call it a nite. Help with se6/21 too tired!
se 6/21: plural of se 5 just before...
Thanks Stidmama! I'm popping back here everynow and again to see if I can get more. I'm actually taking a day off holidays, but need to work on something other than my usual! Won't miss the FLIP though!
OoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. thanx soooo much. Jet lag.
or... se 6/21: naval persons of the male persuasion? or... se 6/21: person who sews se 4/5?
good night all!! thanks for the fun!!!!
good night smaller! see you tomorrow!
YAY mam20! (assuming you got it) :-)
would you have a clue for the 3rd se 6/21? pls?
Missing an s 6.... I have: se 6/21 x3, se 6/18 x 2 si 6/18 x 2 sn 6/18 help, please
se 6/21: one who appears to be
hi - could some-one pls help with the TE 7.32 - thnx
three si 6
te 7/32: plural the te 6 just before...
te 7's -- both are plurals for the 6's before
Thanks 'Nan....searching. Wou;d it be possible that we might be missing all of the same ones? If you cou;d tell me which one in the lickety's order, I'll try to help....
Not using a list Beazus but the clue I gave is for the third se 6/21
thnx mama! can you also assist with the MU4 - I have the one ending oppos of up but can't work out the other.
lynxxx.. the two mu made little sense to me. one was clued as a type of city-pledge bond, a "nickname" for that sort of investment; the other I think is some sort of subatomic particle?
THX cybernan!! - got it.
Sorry Stidmama -- I have 3 si 6's -- forgot to say that I'm working from the s in the fourth row -- still missing one s
one s 6, that is
4 se 6/21
Have one who appears to be, one who sews, and sailor
thnx mama - got it 5th time round! having problems w. connections I think
change the last cons on the sailor, nan!
get a not valid on the only possibility (used the r -- one who sews)
sorry, nan -- it "sounds like" the one who sews, double vowel at the beginning
got that one too (one who appears to be)
Thanks for the help folks! I'm going to bed now, not finished but close enough for me! <<<cross-eyed>>> g'nite!
i'm sorry i'm so dense tonight! do you have the "calm" se 6/18? the prince of monaco is called his se**** highness
good night, beazus!
yes-- that and one other se 6/18 (baseball's world se****)
okay, do you have plural of men's contribution to baby making?
That was it --- my heroine -- thanks -- done!!!!!!!
YAY cybernan!
*my brain hurts!*
Oh dear -- would an aspirin and a cup of hot chocolate help?
What is tomorrow's theme, Stidmama?
hot cocoa, yes, probably spiked with something a little stronger, tonight. :-) the gears in my brain are just not fully engaged -- i feel so dumb that it took me that many tries to give you the clue you needed! you were very clear...
pig day is the theme for tomorrow, apparently.
good night all - was quite addictive for my first time onboard
what's a clue for si4,4 the one before the math term?
marge -- did you get all the words? glad you had fun, either way. Hope to see you again.
si4/5 same first three letters as the math term, then add the letter that comes 3 after the second vowel in the alphabet
mklein -- the first si 4/4 is a math term, then there's an si 4/5 that starts same three letters but a tall humped consonant for the last...
the only other 4/4 is what would would call a king or your progeny
knutmeg -- you're back! how was your nap? haven't seen your mom around today, is she playing or taking a day off?
hey, knutters, you there?
jaianniah! just asked after you! happy sunday evening!
My nap was good. Liv is up and fussing. She slept through the night last night, so I'mhoping after she eats some more she'll repeat her performance. mom and I finished the puzzle around 7 am this morning, so I imagine she spent the day doing other things. I haven't spoken with her because I had company among other things. She'll probably see us at the flp
or she's here! Hi Mum!
TY - i'd swear I monkeytyped that in. Just 13 left, but I just can't seem to figure out which ones I need today.
knutmeg-- did you say your one (1) month old slept through a night???? you are so lucky... :-) *envious, but pleased*
i had the same problem, mklein -- really felt foolish most of the day!
*grins proudly* Yep!! Olivia slept 7 hours straight last night. It was awesome... except my husband and I spent the whole night getting up checking on her because we were worried when she didn't wake up.
I dunno what's wrong, but spent the day in absolute HELL- the pain in my back is so bad, I am consiering tossing in the towel and calling the doc tomorrow. It didn';t hurt this bad the day after surdey- must be from my little car "incident" yesterday! How r u, kiddo! Have heard lots of good things from your Auntie!
*less envious, totally understanding* I spent Matthew's first month home hovering afraid he'd forget to breathe.... his meds made him so groggy when he slept.
ready for tomorrow with the world's most popular pig *refresh* -- not very original, I know!
Sorry about the typos....Lots of pain med onboard....
jaianniah! car incident? are you -- obviously not "OK" but okay? yes -- go see someone and get "fixed" sooner than later... {back problems are something I understand too well}
nan, that's perfect! c'est vous! (or is it tu? my french is so horrible)
Mum- please call the doc tomorrow, no need to stay in pain if he can help Stid- so much hovering after she finally woke up at 6:30 am, I fed her and went back to sleep :-)
I just got my little piggies for today
Who is mum (or should I say grandma), knutmeg?
but... does miss piggy play golf? this could be a petit problem, no?
nite from my little piggies
cybernan-- Jaianniah is my mom, Liv's grandma :-)
renny :-) cute. ditto for NatLT
good night, renfield!
Only golf on Tues, Wed and Sunday (sometimes Thurs) -- so that's ok.
thanks, I thought about puttin up a pic of our dog (she is an english bull dog and everyone says she looks like a pig)
oh, fine then -- wouldn't want you to have to break character! :-)
Yeah- it was the first day out after my surgery and some guy ran me off the road by crossing the center line. He was too busy abusing his girlfriend to pay attention to driving, and I spun around and got shaken up- not good for after-back reconstruction....
oh jaianniah, that's awful. *good vibes coming your way*
OOh -- Jai!!! -- you should get yourself to the doc!
Stidmama -- vous for the formal -- tu/toi for friends, so the latter is more appropriate here.
Thank you, Stiddie- I know lots of folks are caring about me- look at how nice you all are to my daughter!!!:o))))
My pic is my little piggy :-) Mum--fresh pic from yesterday before I took her over to your parent's house.
Of course, she is THE most cutestest baby in the world!!!!
Jai -- stidmama is the same age as my daughter -- at least for another month!
merci, nan. I took French in 6th and 7th grades (parochial school), then Spanish and German in High school and college, and italian and chinese for a year each in college... sometimes they all get squished up and confuseled together. but... even college was 20 years ago now!
now I'm getting mixed up -- it's Knut & Jai that are daughter& Mom, right?
right, cyber :-)
Stidmama, I took French (special program) from fourth grade until junior year of High school, then two years of college- still blurt stuff out in French it is so ingrained in me even 30 years later...Can you believe it? Growing up in Illinois?
You have a lot more languages than I -- tried to learn Italian for our trip to Italy 2 years ago, but not with much success -- memory's not quite as good as it used to be!!
nan -- I had no idea you were in my mother's generation! wow -- appearances can sure be deceptive!
i like languages... but I don't like to read "literature" -- so I always fizzle once I have a bit under my belt. Can understand a good bit, though, when the opportunity presents itself.
Yes -- we have 6 granddaughters aged 6 - 16.
Did you see what they did to "rig" Sudoku? I had to pay to play today...ooo, that rhymes.....
jaianniah, i think it's really cool that you were able to learn French that way! I wish there were something comparable for our kids -- we have studied italian, german and spanish together, and have a smattering of other languages from our international friends... but it's hard to teach more than basic vocabulary when I don't have a good sense of conversational patterns.
five minutes left... does anyone need assistance?
Just my back.....
TY so much!
The Learning Company has some excellent cd's for learning to speak second languages -- I found the "Learn to Speak French" one was really great --- had forgotten most of my highschool French when I got it. Couldn't find a "Learn to Speak..." for Italian, much to my regret, but I know there is one for German and Spanish.
i'm not a medical person... but have you tried alternating heat and ice today? supporting your back so you're comfortable and the muscles can relax? those are things that usually work for pain management for me...
nan, I will check out the Learning company -- summer time is coming up, and we usually try to work on languages at some level! Thanks!
Their standard format -- is a story line, vocab, grammar and interactive pronunciation and games sections -- you do need a mike for your computer, though
Flip
***FINISHED**** just in time
i have a computer mike... BRB -- dog needs outside (catch you all on the other side!)
YAY lshult!
flip early!!! LOL
