2:55 am

A shaky Tr7/32 as well.

3:02 am

Morning all I see the volcano and cheese are back again.

3:03 am

We would miss them if they didn't come up in every other grid.

3:03 am

Thanks Fmitch! That enabled me to enter two words before I even looked at the grid!

3:03 am

LOL sprite. good grid today so far!

3:04 am

It is! Not too many stupidhead words and lots of nice finds.

3:04 am

3:12 am

Hello lynxxx - how is the grid today?

3:12 am

Morning Haz, jump right in, its a good one, well the 1st 126 words have been anyway :)

3:13 am

It does look nice - I've got 14 words so a bit to go to catch up!

3:13 am

Would agree FMitch

3:14 am

How can ja 5/22 be a word if rome isn't?

3:15 am

thanks for that joy - was missing the j5

3:16 am

Because it's a black enamel as well as a country.

3:17 am

Another thing we would never have known, hadn't we started babbling :D

3:20 am

a 8/50

3:22 am

already got the ja5/22 need a clue for the other j?

3:22 am

and the pa7?

3:23 am

I'm disappointed for Mikey's sake that 'jete' isn't there.

3:24 am

Ishult - denim? LOL Haz

3:24 am

The other j is both a girl name and singular blue trousers. There is no Pa7 as far as I know.

3:26 am

Ooops!! That's my Mum's name. GLAD SHE DOSN'T USE A COMPUTER

3:27 am

LOL Ishult! Shame on you ;)

3:27 am

She would be very mo6/21 to think you had forgotten her.

3:28 am

But Ishult's Re7/32 is honest enough to placate her.

3:28 am

I hope so!

3:30 am

I suppose I couldn't fo7 what a mistake I was going to make!!

3:31 am

ooo nice one Ishult, didn't have that one, thanks.

3:31 am

She's your mum, she'll just think you are an Er6/18 youngster and forgive you.

3:32 am

FMitch: don't forget the person doing it then.

3:33 am

woohoo, thanks sprite that both 8's nailed

3:34 am

I still need that A8. Could you give me a clue, please pretty please?

3:35 am

3:35 am

It's a good run a5, a7 and a8. thank ability to change for the 5 and then items you might need for plugs when travelling for the others.

3:36 am

dif sp I think re the a 7&8

3:36 am

Thanks FMitch!

3:37 am

I think I don't even have that A5 yet.

3:39 am

There's an na7/32 ' marked by a condition of stupor' - relates to a type of drug.

3:41 am

I am being so incredibly blind. Could someone find it in his/her heart to give me another clue for that A5 that leads to the bigger ones?

3:42 am

ad5/14 - to change according to circumstances

3:42 am

sprite, start from the 1st a and think about someone who can handle change .. they can ad5/14 to it

3:43 am

omg... please hand me the fish... thanks :)

3:45 am

And to think I was proud I had found the A4 for a door not completely closed. Real proud I was. Guess I just got kicked back into humility, lol.

3:46 am

Don't beat yourself up sprite, as you have often said, we all do it!!! Nice to see instead of the russian royalty we have an indian one for a change.

3:47 am

Babble is very cosmopolitan.

4:00 am

Okay - I've got 100 words and have to go. I'll be back later. Bye all!

4:01 am

Lol, I feel like I am in good company now ;)

4:21 am

da 6.21 ? thnx

4:22 am

(((hugs)))

4:22 am

Someone playing with little metal throwable arrows. There is a plural too.

4:23 am

lyn, if a group of people challenge someone to do something you are the D*****

4:24 am

Or it could be the frequentative of the Da4/5

4:25 am

daaa - I would be a 'dag' 'cause there is 4 da 6,21 and all the ones clued I actually have. I believe it is the 3rd one. sorry.

4:26 am

I'm missing that 3rd one too :(

4:26 am

People that go out?

4:28 am

I have 4. People with nerve The one throwing Da4s the frequentative People that go out.

4:30 am

The frequentative of Da4 starts with the throwing object and ends the same as the slow hardshelled animal.

4:35 am

HaAd to go to a2z for that one, the endling is the water version of the slow hardshelled animal.

4:36 am

thnx sprite! tried and tried again to put the start of tortoise on the end of the throwing object (duh!) but got it in the end

4:36 am

Lol, true. I'll be more precise next time, sry.

4:37 am

LOL sprite, no probs :)

4:38 am

:D

4:43 am

161 words under my belt so it's definately time for me to go. It's been a real fun log this morning, catch up later and happy babbling :)

4:44 am

It was great playing with you, as ever :) Have a nice day!

4:45 am

Thanks for all the da clues.

4:48 am

Good morning everyone. What a nice puzzle. Got through the first 166 vry smoothly. Now it's archeological dig time.

4:49 am

Hi Eva, I agree!

4:49 am

4:51 am

4:51 am

there are only 2

4:52 am

oh i take that back, just found ja5/22

4:52 am

I have at least 3.

4:52 am

2 for starting letter, 1 in the middle.

4:52 am

sorry-I meant that there are only 2 beginning with j

4:53 am

I have 4-the two begining with j, one beginning with a and another beginning with r.

4:54 am

Nice, I had not found that r yet :) Thnx!

4:54 am

yr wlcm

4:55 am

just found the tropical bird

4:55 am

what tropical bird?

4:56 am

One of the real nice finds, to me anyway.

4:56 am

a very typical one- starts with a p

4:56 am

Pa6.

4:56 am

yes- it tickled me to find it sitting on its perch.

4:57 am

1 p left to find.

4:58 am

There is one Pa5 that only uses letters in the upper left corner. That was the last I found.

4:58 am

I don't understand why dogs with their tongues hanging out of their mouths on a hot day aren't pa_____!

4:59 am

wow it took me a while to catch on to that clue lol

4:59 am

Probably for the same reason people that leave us aren't Pa7.

5:01 am

you've got me stumped with that left corner one Sprite-either I can't see it or i have it and am not recognizing it. Pretty please for more of a clue?

5:01 am

does anyone know todays longest word?

5:02 am

Ad8 and Fo8.

5:02 am

Can anyone give me clues for the first re 7/32 and the re 6/21 that follows?

5:03 am

Pa5/12 A song of joyful praise or exultation. P + very long time alt. spelling.

5:04 am

dalmation-the ones I have are about a church official and then that same official minus a consonant

5:04 am

Phew - got them and am finished!

5:04 am

I don't have all the R's yet, so I do not know which one is first or not.

5:04 am

thanks Sprite! The p's are a thing of the past.

5:05 am

wow-you mean totally finished?!

5:05 am

yw :)

5:05 am

Yes, and actually enjoyed this one!

5:06 am

WTG Dalmatian! You get... ~~~%%%~~~fireworks!!~~ ~%%%~~~

5:06 am

ive only got 55 words. your making me feel inferior lol

5:06 am

Boy and are they ever welcome! Good Babbling to one and all.

5:07 am

i've only got two

5:08 am

jo_jo, NEVER feel inferior. You found 55 (!) words! That's a lot of words, and if you enjoyed finding them, you play the game as it should be played.

5:09 am

I'm missing 1 7. I have: ad7/36 cr7/32 cr7/44 da7 /32 fi7/44 fo7/44 fr7/40 na7/3 2 ra7/28 re7/32 re7/32 se7/28 te7/28 tr7/32 tr7/32

5:10 am

Another Fo7, I think.

5:10 am

jo jo- I often marvel at how some of the others do. Today I'm on a roll for some reason.

5:11 am

do you know how many points in that other fo7?

5:11 am

Fo7/40

5:11 am

i was lol. not managed to complete a puzzle yet, just like lookin for words

5:12 am

I truly believe that is the whole purpose of the game, enjoy looking for words. Nm how many you find, each one is fun. Well, that and enjoying the chat log, I admit ;)

5:12 am

the one I have is about telling the future. I also have the person who does that , which is an fo8. Is there another 7 with the same point count?

5:13 am

You listed a Fo7/44, which I do not have. There was no Fo7/40 in your list.

5:15 am

oooops! It should have been fo7/40. Mea maxima culpa to anyone I may have confused! The corrected list is: ad7/36 cr7/32 cr7/44 da7 /32 fi7/44 fo7/40 fr7/40 na7/3 2 ra7/28 re7/32 re7/32 se7/28 te7/28 tr7/32 tr7/32

5:16 am

still one missing.

5:17 am

FMitch posted this: "found another f7/40, don't know if it's been posted before. Means to preceed/go before." I am not sure if I have that one.

5:17 am

I've been assuming that it's the seeing the future one...but maybe not.

5:18 am

Doesn't seem to fit the word, but who knows, lol.

5:18 am

thanks for the reminder sprite! got it. It wasn't the same one. use the same prefix and then to move swiftlyin the past tense.

5:19 am

sounds like a computer language minus a t.

5:20 am

Ow of course! I think I better hang on to that fish today. Thanks :)

5:20 am

No fish needed-I never would have found it without your nudge.

5:20 am

Good teamwork then, for the same goes for me :)

5:21 am

well a cold but bright day for the moment, so I think with 27 left to find that I'll feed Merp and go for a walk before the rain rolls in again. Been lots of fun playing with you this morning Sprite!

Good evening babblers! stunning grid!!

5:22 am

I enjoyed your company very much too :) Have a nice walk, see you later.

5:23 am

Hey mrP! Jump in, it's a real real great grid indeed.

5:23 am

melon cat to the rescue!! Off for a walk but see you later mrp.

5:29 am

wahoo, 71 words now. how many is there in total?

5:31 am

198 today.

5:32 am

:-S not even half way yet then

5:32 am

Almost halfway, which is pretty good, actually.

5:37 am

there is an aj4/9 if that helps anyone

5:38 am

Yeah, that's a nice one, I was proud of myself for finding it :)

5:38 am

na 5.12 and 6.21 clues pls

5:40 am

Short for the state of stupor Na7 + plural

5:42 am

thnx sprite - and I thought I had all variations covered.

5:42 am

Oh, don't I know that feeling :)

5:46 am

i cant even begin to comprehend how so many words can come from so little letters

5:47 am

jo_jo, this is actually a medium grid. There are grids of 400+, 500+ words!

5:47 am

i really wouldnt have thought it possible. i think im going to call it a day soon

5:48 am

Hope you enjoyed yourself. See you around :)

5:48 am

bye bye x

5:49 am

ssshhh sprite! the last time i heard talk of a 400+ grid, one showed up the next day :)

5:50 am

That's true, cliffopa! *hushes up very quickly*

5:51 am

let's all think of small grids....not too small tho because those under 100 actually seem harder.

5:53 am

I remember a 23 words grid that took me half the day, but that was before the lists and clues time.

5:54 am

before lists and clues? yikes! i can't imagine. i've only been able to do one complete grid without a list.

Mornin all from Kansas! Cool here today but supposed to warm up later this week. Well, time to get started - 6:00 a.m.

5:55 am

The only help we had back then was what other players chose to share. The chatlog was usually not over 30 posts.

5:57 am

i think the chat is one of the greatest resources now. seems like a friendly, helpful bunch.

Yesterday was bread baking day so I made part of the dough into cinnamon rolls. Will have one with my tea for breakfast. Yummy!!

5:58 am

morning rumple - hope your clear of all those tornados i keep hearing about.

7:40 am

Hi Abe :)

7:40 am

I'm back. I see zippers abound now.:-)

7:41 am

Hi Jac --- yep we'll have closure on this grid today.

7:41 am

Hi MusicMom. *groans at joke*

7:41 am

LOL Music

7:42 am

mm - now that was 'funny'

7:42 am

sorry - it's early.They will get worse as the day goes on.

Hi Shorty, is that your cockatoo dressed up like my blue & gold macaw? Cute

7:43 am

Well I'm fairly zipping through this grid. I've really got my teeth into it.:D

7:43 am

I wished it was mine but no I found him on google

7:44 am

be careful there might be a catch in the middle.

7:44 am

Today's phantom word for me is 'partner'. How about the rest of you?

7:45 am

secrete is my phantom word. BRB -- laundry calls.

7:48 am

mine is ferret

7:48 am

i want corset:)

7:48 am

LOL. I can 'see' all of those now + 'acres'.

7:50 am

deal

7:52 am

Why isn't someone who arfs an 'arfer'?

7:52 am

i'm adding another, i want factor

7:52 am

I've wondered that for a long time jac

7:52 am

good question

7:52 am

Hey Jac - isn't it nice how we all come together and get in a groove here?

7:53 am

Yes, MusicMom. It is.

7:53 am

trace is my word

7:53 am

and why isnt some one who wears pa**s a pa**er?

7:54 am

Shorty - I wondered that, too, but I was thinking of someone out of breath.

7:54 am

excellent question Shorty

7:54 am

here is a question for the group. abe and i are coworkers so are right next to each other. is anyone else here in the same room with another player?

7:55 am

No not me

7:55 am

Not normally bluephlox but if we get a wireless connection at our cabin next week BGL and I will probably be playing together.

7:55 am

bluephlox - I'm alone today but, sometimes, my partner's on the laptop playing in the same room.

7:56 am

whos that jacula?

7:56 am

that's fun. it's nice having someone doing this in the same room even if you're not doing it together. you can complain about phantom words- which we do often.

7:57 am

Anyone managed to get the third (from licketysplits list) pa5/12. I need a clue. Its my last word! and I have been stuck on it now for 40 minutes.

7:57 am

Mt partner's also been known to nip onto a computer when he gets back to the depot and post on the log asking me why I'm Babbling and not making his dinner! LOL.

7:57 am

because babbling is more fun:)

7:57 am

Shorty - My partner's Paul69 but he doesn't often post on the log.

7:58 am

oh i was gonna say ive never seen him

8:02 am

My pa5/12's so far are: Polynesian wraparound skirt omething you peel fruit or potatoes with. Young fishes (esp. salmon) (Think of one of Henry VIII's wives.). Latin 'father'.

8:03 am

*Something (lost an 's' there).

8:03 am

anyone done with the re words? How may of them are to do some verb again?

8:04 am

ok refresh

8:05 am

There are 13 re words

8:05 am

it is a rhinestone zipper and I want one now.

8:06 am

LOL faerie --- I think every faerie should have a rhinestone zipper.

8:06 am

LOL me too !!! (*^_^*)

8:07 am

MusicMom - I think ARB said earlier that only 4 of the re's are doing again words.

8:07 am

I want craft to be a word.

8:07 am

BRB. Need lunch - my tummy's rumbling.

8:07 am

Thanks Jac. I would hereby like to declare (once again) I hate words that start with re and I believe that we should decree them illegal.

8:08 am

later Jacs

8:08 am

does anyone know how many words is there to find?

8:09 am

I second that Music....

8:09 am

198

Jacula, I have homemade bread with butter and cinnamon rolls and a Highland beef roast with potatoes and carrots in the oven. Sound good?

8:10 am

hmmmmm rump - think i'm coming over -- I'll bring some coffee.

8:10 am

Thanks for the help Jacula. I think that I am missing the "Polynesian wraparound skirt". Now I just have to work out what that is!

OK, around noon

8:11 am

Music I had one the cinnamon rolls earlier I'm have roast for lunch with Rump. Sounds delicious.

8:12 am

I may need to do leftovers for dinner or tomorrow. I drive fast but not that fast. It is at least 12 hours to Kansas from here.

8:12 am

Greetings, fellow Babblers! How goes the grid today?

8:12 am

the cinnamons are to die for (;drool;)

8:12 am

thank you - a good bit to go then...

8:13 am

It's not too bad Jera. Well, except for the dreaded re.

8:13 am

Ugh... re words... ptui!

8:13 am

{{{Jera}}} *sprinkle* *sprinkle* *sprinkle*

8:14 am

{{{Faerie}}} Thanks!

8:14 am

yw :)

8:16 am

*takes a deep breath & dives into the re- list, hopefully to return before too long*

8:17 am

recrap should be a word. It is recrap every time we have to type re words<G> Feeling like a whiner today.

8:18 am

You'll get through the re's Music you always do. Me on the other hand.....not so sure???

8:18 am

let me go first Faerie and then I can zip you through them.

8:18 am

I just finished the c's does that count for anything? LOL

8:19 am

so far what I am seeing is that they are all common babble words and not too difficult. I make it harder when I look for the really strange ones and miss the normal ones.

8:19 am

of course! congrats on the c's!

8:20 am

thans Une - love the icon :)

8:20 am

*Crys*! I finally got it! No wonder I could not work it out. I thought the Polynesian wraparound skirt ended in the letter "U", but it has another spelling! Thanks again for the help Jacula, I can now go get some sleep!

8:20 am

:-D

8:20 am

absolutely - that means you will have clues for me when I get there. I'm trying a new method today. I'm working back ward through the alphabet but without the list first. When I find all the words I can with any one letter then I go to the list.

8:21 am

Uludaas are you finished?

8:21 am

Wonderful Uludaas!!! Does this mean you are finished?

8:21 am

that's my "method" too, MM :-)

I changed my icon because if you eat enough of these you will have to undo your zipper.

8:22 am

Done with the R's (please don't hit me!)!

8:23 am

Yes I am finished! I am improving slowly I can almost get half the words without looking at lickeysplits now.

8:23 am

Rump - I'll have another one please and thank you. Looks soooooooo gooooood.....

8:23 am

BRAVO Uludaas

8:24 am

Huzzah for Uludaas!! My goal is halfway without help... very good!

8:24 am

~~~~~congratulations uludaas~~~~~~ WHOOT!!!!!!!
8:24 am
I am happy to stay for a while and try to provide clues for anyone that needs it
8:25 am
Jera - how dare you tell everyone that. You know how sensitive Music is about those damned re words.
*********FIREWORKS*********** for ULUDAAS
8:25 am
Jera, I find that I can only do it for the lists that have around 150ish words anything more or anything less are usually to obscure for me to get
8:25 am
oops was supose to <beep> out the bad word.
8:26 am
This one is nice... lots of patterns... The good news is you have another hint-giver in me, Faerie!
8:26 am
I think bad words are called for when discussing re words...
8:27 am
Excellent point Jera!!
8:28 am
brb-- Music knows where I'm going :)
8:28 am
<gasp gasp gasp> one more re but I had to come up for air. Jera --- I don't know whether to congratulate you and ignore you................. okay ---- Good Job!!!
8:30 am
LOL Faerie Jera what in the world is the re5/10 between the get up again 6/18 and the cut again 6/21?
8:31 am
Maybe this will help you feel better... I can't find a <beef> pa4/5!! I hate it when the little words elude me!
8:31 am
is it the "look at again"?
8:32 am
Maybe cuz I don't get that hint...
8:32 am
that was for the re5/10 :)
8:33 am
It's either the last pa4/5 or the second to last one... I have the tope of head one
8:33 am
LOL, Unea...
8:33 am
pa 4/5 is also a bald head
8:33 am
Thanks Une. It is but I swear I still don't see how to get there. Oh well. It's in the list now.<G>
8:34 am
I have that one, I need the other one Llysse
8:34 am
MM, i find that it often helps to stand on your head and cross your eyes!
8:35 am
Oh, um--the breathing hard?
8:35 am
Do you have the one that is what you do to an apple?
8:36 am
Yes, that's the second one...
8:36 am
do you have the wife of Henry VIII?
8:36 am
I need either the 4th or 5th one, I have top of head
8:36 am
Or what you do to your hair, or the red sea...?
8:37 am
Ye gods, I'm an idiot, had the plural but not the single! Thanks, Unea!!
8:38 am
There's also what you do to an apple or potato, another word for peel. Sorry I never know which one is being asked for!!! :(
8:39 am
Just watched Helen Mirren in Elizabeth I and have all those courtly women on the brain! :-)
8:40 am
Jac LOL's at Jera because she, of course, has *never* had a plural but missed the singular. *Hopes nose doesn't grow as she types this.*
8:41 am
That ja is dirty pool... proper noun!!!
8:42 am
DONE...anyone need a clue??
8:42 am
Jera - it also means to coat with black enamel.
8:42 am
brb
8:43 am
I lost my coffee cup.
8:43 am
kudos, ouwachita!
8:43 am
Yea, well, spam also means junk mail but it's not allowed...
8:43 am
Huzzah for Ouwa!!
8:44 am
found it.
8:44 am
Bravo Ouw!
8:44 am
Well done Ouwa and anyone else who's finished while I've been off filling my face.
8:47 am
Oh GREAT! Oreo is my new phantom word.
8:47 am
How many total words today?
8:48 am
198 words today.
8:49 am
MusicMom - not so much phantom as not allowed!
8:49 am
Yikes.
8:49 am
Thanks true Jac. I just keep seeing it. UGH!
8:52 am
OUW - congratulations!!!
8:53 am
Just found an Irish county in the a's - it's not allowed though.
8:54 am
sorry got distracted by Cirque du Soleil.
8:55 am
Wow, French is coming in handy today... 2 more words to go!
8:56 am
MusicMom, a friend and I are going to see Delirium next week and we are soooooo excited!!
8:56 am
8:57 am
Whoo-hoo! *happy dance of doneness*
8:57 am
*~*~*CONGRATULATIONS JERA*~*~*
8:57 am
Une I have never seen them live. We had the DVDs in the music library where I worked. They were just on the Today show. It is fascinating to me.
8:58 am
Musicmom, what does your icon say? The answer to the question, I presume?
8:58 am
yeah jera!
8:58 am
Bravo Jera!
8:58 am
Jera - Well done! I'm at 157 found now and still no list. BBNAZ - it's a lovely grid.
8:58 am
gotta take Max for a quick walk I'll be back in and hr or so.
8:58 am
I have 108 --- combo of list and no list.
8:58 am
easy for you to say, i have been staring at it now for a bit over 30 minutes and barely have 20+ words.
8:58 am
I'm so proud of you Jacula! I think I set up the list around 50 left, not sure
8:59 am
BB - have a coffee and try again. It'll soon start falling into place.
9:00 am
My son actually went in to school today so I should get busy doing something useful around the house... but I'd rather hang out here! :>
9:00 am
MM, they are absolutely magical live--this will only be our second show . . . but it's fun to watch them on Bravo
9:00 am
Jera - I'm bound to hit a wall soon. I'll get a list when I do.
9:04 am
Someday Une I'm going to see them live. I love watching them on my little t.v. screen so I know I would love them in person.
9:05 am
brb - laundry time again.
Yeah, finished the R's, now on to the P's. I always work backwards. My daughter & fiance have Rockbanners booth at OZZFEST and get to meet and have lunch with all the bands on tour. Exciting, but sure wears them out.
9:11 am
I do the same thing Rumple... working backwards. Just seems to go faster for some reason.
9:12 am
Well, I am literally falling asleep at teh computer, so i think it's time for a nap. Gwyd wasn't feeling well last night & he just had to sleep with me... I woke up to find him on top of me. The kid must like a lumpy mattress...
It's easy to see the words as they come up. Don't have to keep scrolling down
9:12 am
Back later to chat more... bye! *poof*
9:13 am
Have a good rest, Jera.
9:15 am
Later Jera
9:25 am
10:15 am
lol, done! but just remember, what happens in Vegas....
10:15 am
hi, musicmom! :-)
10:23 am
I count 253 words. Is that right?
10:23 am
10:23 am
If you've found 253 you are pretty amazing!
10:24 am
OK. Thanks. Will recalibrate accordingly!
wow; friendly bunch in here today.....noses must be in the grid, though ;-)
good to hear, musicmom! :-)
10:37 am
anyone have the cr6 between the 7 and the 5?
10:38 am
Music diffrent spelling for what goes down the front of you jeans legs.
10:38 am
it's the singular of your cr7
10:38 am
If you've got the cr7 you've got the cr6!
10:38 am
faeriekae! really! :)
10:39 am
i think musicmom means the one after the cr7. i don't have it either.
10:39 am
spellit and ch --- I have that there is one after the 7 that wouldn't be the singular.
10:39 am
cr + double 2nd vowel + plural + 2nd vowel
10:40 am
cr6/21 - has the same ending as a dairy foodstuff
10:40 am
ty Faerie --- I knew you finishing those c's before me would come in handy. three f words and I will have zipped this one up. Back to the grid.
10:40 am
Hi haz. thanks
10:40 am
LOL you were right.
10:41 am
spellit- there's a cr7/44 - a farmer (especially the small Scottish variety)
10:41 am
spellit, is that an ocarina in your icon? I have one -- learning to play.
10:42 am
10:47 am
OH DUH --- Double fish for me please. I left out an e. was only making it a 6 instead of a 7
10:48 am
10:51 am
CONGRATS MUSICMOM!!!!!! *APPLAUSE!!!!A PPLAUSE!!!!!!*
10:52 am
Mikey -- I see your eye has been enlarged lately.. How about the rest of you?
10:53 am
YAY musicmom! hi all!
10:54 am
Hiya, stidmama!!!!!
10:54 am
Morning Stidm :)
10:54 am
Good Day to all! anyone have a clue for the fo 5/18?
10:54 am
I Katieq :)
10:55 am
fo 8/55 someone who can predict the future
10:55 am
fo 5/18 -- a robber would fo*** his way into your home
10:55 am
Katieq - use the F****.....
10:56 am
fo 5/18 = ____ someone to do something (against their will)
10:56 am
oooh, movieman, MUCH better clue than mine -- love it! Speaking of clues ... the pa 5/12 that comes right before what we wear with a shirt?
10:56 am
fo 5/18 strength
10:56 am
any hints for the 2nd pa 6/21? i'm sure i'm overlooking something obvious.
10:57 am
pa 6/21 - Latin for fathers
10:57 am
pa 5/12 great praise -- there are 3 vowels in the middlle of the word
10:57 am
a very colorful bird --- I think rumpelstiltskin has had in her icon
10:58 am
i've got that one, ch. i've also got the plural for what you use to peel food.
10:58 am
pa 6/21 --it's a bird---in Casablanca, Sidney Greenstreet's bar was the Blue P******* thanks for the clues--now of course it's quite obvious
10:58 am
thanks, musicmom! that was pretty obvious--*sigh*
10:58 am
faeriekae -- did your plants make it last night? how's the weather this morning?
10:59 am
Thanks, ARB -- got it
10:59 am
good clue, kateq
10:59 am
no worries bookgrrl. I monkeytyped it and then felt really stupid.
11:00 am
Any cluez for the other j? I have the girl's name......
11:00 am
Stid it was 30 when I got up this morning but and yes there was frost on the ground. I had everything covered so all my flowers are doing fantastic today :) I was worth the work.
11:00 am
thanks for asking :)
11:00 am
i'm sitting at 188 words, and these last ten seem quite impossible today.
11:00 am
The other j is also the name of a far eastern country
11:00 am
j --- far eastern country --- also a way of placing enamel (I think)
11:01 am
j5 = what is the name of a country but also a kind of black metal
11:01 am
Thanx all..... Would have tried that, only I didn't think it accepted proper nouns.....
11:02 am
It's not a proper noun when referring to black enamel
11:02 am
I'm down to 4-- cannot figure out the first fo 7/40 (major F trouble today LOL)
11:02 am
fo 7/40 to predict the future
11:02 am
Kateq - to predict the future......
11:02 am
fo7/40 went through the race before everyone else.
11:03 am
good. I had dreams last night of all my pear blossoms looking like they had been "sugared" and then shattering... not okay.
11:03 am
SOrry the first 7/40 is a compound word pre + operated
11:03 am
where is hurshy today?
11:04 am
Musicmom--TY! I never would have seen that
11:04 am
kateq -- I often forget to look up.
11:05 am
last two tr's anyone?
11:05 am
i am here, just been buried in the grid
11:06 am
more of the last tr4 and then pl
11:06 am
tr 6/21 -- has to do with 3's tr the plural of the 6/21
11:06 am
Oh good --- just wanted to be sure you were okay. Hey I've decided to go wtih your wooden spoon idea! Thanks!
11:06 am
Missing one d..... I have all the variations of the "brave" word, all the variations of the pub game, and all the variations of the romantic meeting......
11:06 am
hurshy! looks like it's a neighborly day in the neighborhood!
11:06 am
i had the chat log closed but bex alerted me that you were asking about me, SMF :)
11:07 am
Shalom Hurshy
11:07 am
bbl - post is here
11:07 am
shalom, ARB, hi stidmama :)
11:07 am
thanks again, musicmom; hadn't tried that because the spelling didn't seem right.
11:07 am
oh, yay on the wooden spoons! :)
11:07 am
great zipper icon Hurshy.
11:08 am
ty, i love mr. rogers :) i wanted to find one in the act of zipping but i couldn't.
11:08 am
movieman, da 6/21 = pub game plus tall skinny letter plue second vowel
11:08 am
Hiya, SCD.....
11:08 am
movieman, the da 6/21 I think you are missing is your pub game with a weird ending -- think if you were to sneak up on someone and st***** them.
11:08 am
hiya, CHS :)
11:08 am
ty, bookgrrl.....
11:09 am
Hurshy - didn't mean to distract you. Was concerned because I didn't see you.
11:09 am
da 6/21 to dash about + suffix syllable like the end of the animal with a shell that makes a great soup
11:10 am
oh no, it's fine SMF :) i just wanted to get down to not many left before risking seeing any clues by accident. i have 25 left now, that's not bad.
11:11 am
Missing an n now... I have the na4/5 and all variations thereof (the na5, 6, 7 & another na5)......
11:11 am
thanks for your concern - is it just general or have i given you something in particular to worry about?
11:12 am
Just general because you are always here when I'm on in the morning. Was missing you!
11:12 am
Nevermind, just found it..... (It was nothing).......LOL.....
11:13 am
movieman, you have squat, you have nothing, you have na** :)
11:13 am
LOL movieman
11:13 am
na 4 spanish for nothing
11:13 am
aw, thanks SMF, that is awfully sweet of you.
*peeks in again*
11:13 am
I have my moments Hurshy. Just don't tell anyone.
11:13 am
11:14 am
hiya mikey! hows it going?
hmm, Arb? :-/ i'm not just an eye anymore, though?
11:15 am
Hurrah! Done! Thank you all for your clues--the last ones are always so painful--not least because they are all so obvious in retrospect.
hi, stidmama! :-) it's going just fine thanks, Bex.....how's everything going for/with you?
11:15 am
One of my piano student's mom has the same birthday as me. She bought me a lovely kit for pedicure and manicure but then in the bottom of it there was a little package of gum. The package said 'Cool and calculating gum for the Total B****" I cracked up. She said I was the only person she knew she could buy it for that wouldn't get offended.
11:16 am
found 47!
11:16 am
Bravo Kateq
11:16 am
If you're not just an eye, what are you? Or is that an indiscrete question?
11:23 am
movieman - ad8 - pl of ad7, a gadget that helps you make 2 other gadgets work together
ad 8 builds off the ad 5, 7 ad 5--to make useful or functional
tr5/12 is an odd past tense of the previous tr4/5.
12:48 pm
clues for tr 5/12 were given within the last half hour
12:49 pm
or you could be nice like vi and give it again :)
12:50 pm
Yup, I am nice! :)
12:50 pm
You have my rapt attention.
12:50 pm
12:52 pm
I dunno. Maybe you are or you aren't.
12:52 pm
unrapt?
12:53 pm
And if you are again, you're rera--
12:55 pm
oreo doesn't count ?! ...i think we need a ruling on this one. not so much a simple confection, as it is an institution. ;-)
12:55 pm
but it is trademarked :(
12:56 pm
help with the j's?
12:56 pm
true enough.
evanonut; you missed me being all gobbled up by smaller.....and this is all she left of me, 'cos she didn't want to gag on hairballs :-/ wait; how am i typing, or even thinking, when my head is gone? :-o
12:57 pm
12:59 pm
12:59 pm
Wait, just a minute ago I was being called nice! Ah, fickle reputation!
12:59 pm
It's the mascot of Akron U .. I see you are from Ohio, and thought you might be from my old area ..
1:00 pm
where the kids made a big 'Z' on the ground with their feet (in the commercial).
ja, well; you just might be right there, Vicuna!!! :-P ja, MAMABEAR; part of me is still here, anyhow :-/
1:01 pm
Oh ...those Zips - sorry. I'm outside of Columbus ...but I do recognize the mascot now that you've told me.
1:01 pm
AOL Instant Messenger. It's a free download - www.aim.com
1:01 pm
if you get it, and sign up with the same screen name, i will chat with you :)
1:01 pm
I still have 144 left - I may not be able to make a dent until tonight, but I shall try! Did everyone catch Jacula's icon earlier?
1:02 pm
I don't remember that commercial, and I'm definitely old enough ..
1:02 pm
if you pick a different screen name i will also chat with you but you will have to tell me what it is :)
1:02 pm
1:03 pm
Mikey - your icon looks like the inside of a sandbox
1:04 pm
i have the original album and the zipper actually works. neat.
1:04 pm
speaking of, did anyone catch the Stones at the Super Bowl? Someone needs to tell those boys to retire....
1:05 pm
it's painful. saw The Who a few years ago - before the Ox passed away and they were incredible. But Keith Richards looks like h-e-double hockey sticks.
1:05 pm
have to agree with you there mamabear corpses on stage is not my idea of entertainment
1:06 pm
Someone needs to remind them that they're dead ..
1:07 pm
Wow. Then Mikey needs a shave!! :)
1:07 pm
1:25 pm
Helen - I went back to doc on Saturday. the Xrays show bone spurs in both heels. and he gave me a cortisone shot in the left one since that is the worser of the two right now. Seems a bit better - but I have been on it alot.
1:26 pm
Hi Angela! Hi Cliffo! Hi Helen!
1:26 pm
i want you all to know that i was tempted to use a pic of my husbands 78 staples where he had surgery - really looks like a zipper. but i didn't want to turn any stomachs after all of yesterday's sh** talk.
1:26 pm
sorry nut.... false alarm!!!! LOL
1:26 pm
many thanks for reconsidering, cliffopa!!!!
1:26 pm
aw, man...I missed the sh** talk?? dern.
1:27 pm
1:27 pm
We could make it cr4/6 talk ..
1:27 pm
sh** talk????? what the sh** !!!!!!!! Da**.........
PUT THOSE FEET UP NOW !!!!! :))) i had a hip x-ray once & the doc showed me a big bone spur on the side of my hip, never knew it was there, sometimes they bother you, sometimes not - glad the shot is giving some relief though
1:27 pm
cliffy - i have a similar one of my hubbys staples, they are stomach turners.
1:27 pm
ANGELA POSTED A WORD!!!!!!
1:28 pm
1:29 pm
ok vi - did you successfully download, and is your name on it going to be vicuna?
1:29 pm
see ya Vic.
well, mama, take the rest of the day off then - tell them the people at babble gave you permission - i'll write you a note too !
oh, MAMABEAR; sorry to hear you have bone spurs to deal with in both your heels now.....why didn't you tell me this when you emailed, though? :-/ what can be done about them, anything?
1:30 pm
which one more like cliff - complete removal of lymph nodes in neck, then a redo on that one. removal of the upper third of his lung. the lung one was like no incinsion hardly at all though.
1:30 pm
Yea Mama come home so we can literati all afternoon!
1:31 pm
Mamabear - have same spurs - Voltaren is great when area inflamed - prescription tabs
1:31 pm
Poor Hubbynut! :(
1:31 pm
It's not a big deal, Mikey - didn't even think to mention it...... but thanks for the concern!!! Chic - I wish I could!!!! Want to play tonite? Anyone else?
1:31 pm
yikes nut! is he okay?
1:31 pm
* perks up at suggestion of literati *
what is literati?
ok, *refresh* everyone.....since it's fairly obvious that smaller didn't really eat/gobble me up anyhow, leaving only part of me behind that i found very difficult to 'speak' with (hehe), i'm back to my face again.....for now! :-P
1:32 pm
Oh cr 4/6!!! I forgot - I have choir rehearsal tonite! *mamabear looks up to sky "sorry, Big Guy!*
1:32 pm
Much better Mikey :)
1:33 pm
helen - Literati is a game in Yahoo Games very similar to Scrabble..... WAY fun!!!
you're all playing Literati tonight, when we'll be asleep.....without me??? :-(
helenkeller, Literati is yahoo's version of 'Scrabble', basically :-) lots of fun!!!
1:33 pm
i cannot find the last re today, an re 6/21? - i have the first two.
1:34 pm
No, hursh, I haven't downloaded yet. I set out to do so and was distracted on the way. Now my parents are to arrive this afternoon and I have to transform my "studio" into a guest room, etc etc. Stuff that is not nearly so satisfying as Babbling/babbling. Yet it must be done...
but you're all going to play without me :-/ unless i stay up all hours.....which i can't be doing :-( darned time zones!!! :-/
1:34 pm
ok well just so you know i'm not just plain hurshy on there, i'm hurshy238, ok?
i used to play cutthroat scrabble with my mom all the time - miss that, maybe i'll check this out, thx!
1:35 pm
No, Mikey - I'm not literati-ing tonite - have choir....
1:35 pm
don't feel alone Mikey - small consolation but I won't be there either :)
'cutthroat scrabble', hellenkeller? :-/ what's that?
1:35 pm
you'll live to literati again mikey
1:35 pm
okay, thanks. Does that mean there are 237 other hurshies on there, or did you just pick a number?
1:35 pm
helen - definitely!!!! If you like Scrabble, you'll LOVE Literati!!!! *so ends this commercial message, and now back to our regularly scheduled program*
1:35 pm
tis a number of special significance - i'll explain later :)
1:36 pm
*chuckles at Vic*
1:36 pm
(Notice how eagerly I am rushing away to the work. ha ha.)
wel, Angela; i'm sort of part of this little 'Literai' gang with MAMABEAR and a few others, you see.....and you could be there sometime, sure.....do you use yahoo messenger at all?
aw; you offer Torg one, MAMABEAR.....but not me? :-/
1:37 pm
chic gave me the pitch already - it's finding 5 minutes to get it done. I already created a name - but not an email or IM. It's harley.deluxe if you ever see me there though.
1:37 pm
Re6/18 pls?
bye hursh ! bye mama, feel better soon!
1:37 pm
bye Hurshy!!! Angela - check it out on Yahoo Games.... you can play with anybody in there, you don't have to have someone lined up at all. But it is more fun with people you know!
1:38 pm
*mama's gettin' all the boys worked up*
1:38 pm
1:45 pm
helen dear, when you get hit on the head, you're not supposed to lay down.
ah yes; right you are.....*thank you*, movieman!!! :-) great clue!
2:16 pm
Only 3
2:16 pm
awww, Deutsch! I was seriously considering watching that (yeah...because I'm 18...*coughs*) because of the guy it was based on, Ed Gein...but I decided, er, against it in the end *lip trembles* Well, okay, my mum didn't let me...:)
2:16 pm
any help on the other j word. I've got the denim one.
2:16 pm
now Mikey, it would depend on which pink -- not the light, fluffy pink, I hope! nor even the bright fuschia color -- perhaps something a little more dignified, like the color of the edges of the english daisies in my lawn?
2:17 pm
Yes, he does, Mikey. and the next day, he was in the backyard without a shirt. He's just a skinny old hippy. yuck!
2:17 pm
go grant go!
2:17 pm
sc 5.12 pls
2:17 pm
wah, several j-rockers wear skirts and stuff but by some freak of nature thing they actually look GOOD in them. unfortunately it lead to my science teacher telling me a male j-rocker in my planner was "very sexy"
2:18 pm
which sc 5/12?
2:18 pm
boreetos - wood/varnish finish (I think) same as country
2:18 pm
he, who hasn't worn a dress a time or two. Hell, I wore a bright red spandex bodysuit for halloween one year. (I was Marvin the Martian)
oh my yes, stidmama; it would have to be just my shade of pink, of course! ;-) hmm, Deutsch.....i don't see anything wrong with a guy being in his own backyard shirtless, but i'll remember to always have one on when i see you on messenger from now on! ;-) lol
2:18 pm
yes boreetos, but when you were ten doesn't really count :-)
2:19 pm
I'm waiting for X3 as well, also Sin City 2, the remake of The Omen (released on 6/6/06, how apt is that?), Pirates Of The Caribbean 2, Superman Returns, Clerks 2, and the remake of Casino Royale (it'll be much more serious this time).....
2:19 pm
sc 5.12 the last one mama
2:19 pm
boreetos- did you see memoirs of a geisha? might help with your J-word
wouldn't want to frighten you again, after all! :-P
2:20 pm
I don't mind that he was shirtless. But the image, along with the day before's visual were a bit much.
2:20 pm
im done. late today.
2:20 pm
sc 5/12: I think it's a sort of curtain they use in the theater? like a sc**** door in the summer without the last cons.
2:20 pm
Interesting visual there, Boreetos...
i wear a lot of spandex/lycra, boreetos.....dance tights, unitards, etc!
2:20 pm
Deutsch - you should watch TCM, 'cos despite the title, there's hardly any blood or gore in it at all...... It's more psychologically scary......
lol, Deutsch; ja, i guess that would be a bit strange! :-P
2:21 pm
movieman, glad you mentioned Pirates 2 -- we will definitely go see that (but usually we see movies at home -- it's cheaper)
hmm; at least he wasn't shirtless in a skirt.....or was he?
2:21 pm
movieman, i concur, Clerk 2 especially. I'm something of a Kevin Smith fan(atic). Pirates 2 looks really promising, and I hope the best for Superman Returns... Sin City 2 cannot suck folling the sheer unadulterated awesomeness of the first one. And being a fan of Lay3r Cak3, I have good feelings about the new Bond.
2:21 pm
mikey -- i'd rather a man be shirtless in a skirt than the other way round!
2:22 pm
yeah, its true, I got the bodysuit at a dance wear supply house. thanks for the j clues as well everyone, I forgot to say before.
2:22 pm
okay, I really must focus now... disappearing momentarily into the grid!
2:22 pm
ooh, I lie. There's like...ONE movie I'm looking forward to seeing. Oresama! since they're actually subtitling it at last, so I don't have to try and follow the plot going on whenever they say "thank you"
2:22 pm
Mikey, LOL. No, he was wearing je**s. thanks for the tip movie. I sometimes forget about that channel.
lmao; shirtless in a skirt, stidmama??? :-P hehe; you've really got us laughing here with that one!!! :-D
2:23 pm
tnx stidmama - sc 5.12 are actually small loose stones
huh, Deutsch? why write it as 'je**s', if you mean 'jeans'? that's not a bad word around here, is it? :-/
2:23 pm
I like the look of the Promise as well. It looks awesome. Along the same lines as Crouching Tiger, Hero and House of Flying Daggers.
2:24 pm
Deutsch - when I said TCM, I was abbreviating the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.....
2:24 pm
no mikey, je** isn't a bad word, but its in the grid today.
2:24 pm
*whispers* (It's in the grid)
hi all. just got started...any help for cr6/21 please?
and of course, that figures, boreetos; i get all my dancewear from such places! :-)
2:24 pm
i wonder if that's the first time that Turner Classic Movies and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre have been confused?
i know; i did the 'je' section some time ago now....but had you not drawn attention to it that way, i'm sure nobody would've concluded that, anyhow? :-P
2:25 pm
I also like the look of Tony Jaa's next movie, Tom yung goong.....
2:25 pm
thanks, for the clarification, movie. I thought you were strangely changing the subject! LOL Okay. I think Friday afternoon in broad daylight I will watch the movie.
2:26 pm
mikey it's babble protocol.
2:26 pm
Tom yung goong - sounds like something you should have on rice with sweet & sour sauce and an eggroll
2:26 pm
Movie, now I look forward to watching it. Psyco scary is my favorite.
2:26 pm
D, i think the original TCM is better, creepy in different ways. But the new one isn't too bad. They pretty much just updated it and changed some things.
2:27 pm
can anyone please give me a clue for the 1st pa 5/12
2:27 pm
boreetos, I think I have to original. At least that's what I meant to get.
2:27 pm
Mamabear - that's actually what the movie is named after..... Those crazy Thais....
ruthy: think dorothy lamour
2:28 pm
argh! Deutsch, nooo! I can't deal with psycho horror at all T_T how do you DO it?
2:28 pm
blueskies there are 2 CR 6.21 - the last and weirder one is same as the 'ripened' milk and change second letter
2:30 pm
ruthy pa 5.12 last 3 letters as je 4.9
2:30 pm
speaking of psycho horror, I just picked up this game called "ZOMBIES!!!" It's an ever changing board game that pits the players against eachother and a hoard of advancing Zombies! It's good fun, and come to find out, there are several expansion packs that feature things like Glow in the Dark Zombies and DevilDogs! woot!
2:30 pm
With a side order of sum yung ting
2:30 pm
Miyavi, I don't know. But I've always liked those types of movies. I'm a fan of Hitchcock. *thinks for a minute* Actually, my mom was pregnant with me when she saw Psycho....
2:30 pm
sorry temple owl i havent got a clue
2:31 pm
Mamabear, sure you wouldn't prefer Sum Yung Guy? :P LOL Deutsch... so much makes sense now...
thanx lynxx..stilll missing it tho..
2:32 pm
LOL miyavi!
2:33 pm
blueskies - edam is a type - change second letter
2:33 pm
^^ having said that, though, Deutsch... whatever my mother watched when pregnant with me... *shudders* I would NOT like to see that movie O.O;;
2:34 pm
I'm sure it was japanese, what ever it was, miyavi!
ty lynxxx...again! i got it that time! :P
2:36 pm
I'm a big fan of "psycho" movies as well..... Especially The Silence of the Lambs, Se7en etc....
2:36 pm
boreetos, zombies sounds like it could be fun. Is it a computer game? who makes it?
2:36 pm
ty lynxxx i got it there as well
2:36 pm
i remember watching Nightmare on Elm Street when I was little. That movie was creepy and awesome.
2:36 pm
I agree movie BRB, need to get the dog
2:37 pm
lol Deutsch...well Japanese cinema does have a rep for being slightly warped :) however, I can't really imagine my mum bopping to Diru with me nestled up in the womb, unless she's been hiding an obsession really, really well...
2:37 pm
Is anyone else, like me, a fan of Peter Jackson's pre-LOTR output, i.e. Bad Taste, Braindead (aka Dead Alive), The Frighteners etc....?
i''m going to have nightmares just reading about these movies!! i didnt' finish nightmare on elm st. as a kid..it freaked me out too badly! and i haven't even attempted to watch the Ring!
2:38 pm
It's a board game, and it's made by Journeyman Press. It's cool, veryone starts out at Town Square and on your turn you flip over a map card and lay it down to add to the board, so its different everytime and you never know what the city is going to look like. Plus you might be going somewhere and someone else puts a dead-end on the end of your road. The first one to the helicopter wins. :)
2:39 pm
Boreetos - I can rember watching some of the Elm Street movies when I was younger too, (about 12 years old I think)..... I couldn't sleep on my own for at least a week afterwards.....
2:39 pm
movieman, heck yes! Not too keen on meet the feebles, but Dead Alive and Braindead are terrific. And the Frightners is one of my fav Mike Fox movies!
2:39 pm
Blueskies - don't!!! don't watch the Ring!!! *rocks gently back and forth, humming* it does...strange things to your mind...O.o
2:40 pm
ugh these dr are making me mad.. im trying to call and no one is picking up lol
2:40 pm
Boreetos - it's good to know you have such excellent taste in movies.... By the way, Braindead and Dead Alive are alternate titles for the same movie....
2:41 pm
carra -- didn't see you come in!
2:41 pm
yeah its true.. I meant Dead Alive and Bad Taste.
2:41 pm
just came in :D
2:41 pm
How are you Stid?
2:42 pm
did you spot Peter Jackson in LOTR?
2:42 pm
Boreetos, sounds like a fun game Movie, didn't Jackson also do a movie about two girls in Australia who kill one's mother?
2:42 pm
pj is hilarious in Bad Taste.
2:42 pm
boreetos - I spotted him in Fellowship..... He was the hairy guy standing outside the Prancing Pony....
2:42 pm
Hi carra!
2:43 pm
crap, I gotta get back to work!!! See you kids in a few hours.
miyavi...i had to change the dvd player in my room 'cause it made that clicking noise like in the Grudge..i have NO intention of ever attempting to watch the ring......
2:43 pm
doing okay -- having a quieter day than I wanted, combination of little things, you know? but it's not too bad. you?
2:43 pm
chomping on a carrot!
2:43 pm
Hi Deutsch!
2:43 pm
Deutsch - he certainly did..... It was called "Heavenly Creatures" and it starred a pre-Titanic Kate Winslet....
2:43 pm
bye boreetos!
2:43 pm
bye boreetos!
2:44 pm
Later, Booooorrrreeeetoooossssss!!!!! !!!
2:44 pm
LOL Blueskies, sounds like me...I haven't entered my lounge in four days, I won't be alone in a room with a TV, and I always leave rooms backwards now. I freak out at puddles of water on the floor! *shudders* oh, the joys of being a wimp...:)
2:44 pm
2:49 pm
2:50 pm
2:50 pm
On purpose T_T he also got my best friend (she's Chinese and with very long black hair) to put her hair over her face and tap me on the shoulder...more screaming, and I think I involunatarily hit her in the face...:)
2:50 pm
I've got to run along now, see you all later! (((Miyavi))) that's incase you start trembling again. :)
2:51 pm
2:52 pm
Later, Deutsch.....
2:53 pm
Still here, M_fan?? How are you?
anyone have the second re 7/32?
2:53 pm
Lawl Movieman...he said it was payback for the time a firebell rang during both his and my P.E. lessons, and all the girls ran screaming to get changed, so we were all covered up on the field, but the boys weren't, and me and my friend kept going "nice leeeeeegs" and singing "WE can see yer knees, ooh, WE can see yer knees!"
2:53 pm
I'm great thanks, Torgone! And yourself? :)
2:54 pm
bye Deutsch!
2:55 pm
Not bad. A lot of cr4/6 going on, but that's nothing new ..
2:55 pm
My friend set up his sister's DVD player to the scene where the Ring girl crawls out of the TV, and turned it on from his room when she was alseep... And she wouldn't even touch the cover *before* he did it...
2:55 pm
3:53 pm
Hello shutterbug and stidmama... It's been crazy around here. Hubby glares at me when I spend all day babbling, too. He thinks I should be productive. Don't know why!
ja; i know, cybernan.....but as i explained, i had that word already, in the wrong slot.....so what i'm really stuck on now, and need, is the second-to-last 're5,10' word, please?
3:54 pm
The 1st TR6&7 are another word for shakes and its plural. I think there was once a movie by this name but I could be wrong.
3:54 pm
tr 5/12: add a consonant to the tr 4/5 tr 6 & 7(plural) -- what you feel during an earthquake
3:54 pm
Mikey, I just meant glad to have you whole and nice pic. I'm an Enlish teacher who stresses clarity and then I don't practice it. LOL shame on me!
3:55 pm
Hey Mikey! I'm way too obsessive. It doesn't usually take me very long if I use a list and don't chat, so when he's home, I usually do that. But I miss chatting!
ah, ok; thank you, Deutsch! wow; didn't realize you're an English teacher? :-)
3:55 pm
Sorry those were for sandr
3:56 pm
3:56 pm
4:04 pm
another stupid word! --- congrats, Hurshy -- I resorted to the list today --- got a sunburn yesterday while out on the golf course, then came home and painted trellises until 8:00 pm.
4:04 pm
mamabear, just read your comment. I can't glare back right now because hubby is fragile... we just found out it was going to be triple our estimate (which we thought was already high) to have a water main put in on our property. He's despondent.
ah; thanks anyhow, hurshy.....appreciate the thought! :-)
4:05 pm
sunburn! trellises! both lovely words.
4:06 pm
4:10 pm
4:12 pm
Bye, Deutsch... Yowch cybernan! I'll be happy when all of this is behind us.
4:12 pm
later Deutsch!
4:13 pm
The real shocker for us was the $3000 estimate for painting our living-dining room, entrance hall and stairwell! There is so much building going on around here, the trades can demand just about anything!
4:14 pm
Finished - see you all later
4:14 pm
okay, I am stuck on the ar 5. monkey typing isn't doing it for me!
4:14 pm
bye lynxx -- thanks for the help
4:14 pm
YAY lynxxx!
4:15 pm
It's pretty reasonable around here usually, but we bought four lots and the water company is treating it like a subdivision of which we are the developers as opposed to being the sole owners of a 30 acre tract of property. So we can't just run a line. We have to do the whole main. The engineer that gave us the estimate was my husband's uncle. I shudder to think what it would be without a family discount!
4:15 pm
Congrats, lynxxx!!! Bye!
Thanks for ryinhg to meet my needs, Stid. My last message was all scrambled because the phone rang in the middle and made me jump; then I pressed "send" without pause to regard the work of my clumsy fingers. Now, Spanish is not one of my languages--I thought the masc. sing pronoun was as in "* *Cid", and there isn't an "L" in the grid. Is there some other way of suggesting the last letter, please?
Does she spell it "Rhyse" perhaps, or "Rise" like the opera singerof my day?) and also the name of a Malayan dagger, which I'm sure will come in useful around the house, much as the iron used to do. so what 4 do you need, jacula
6:12 pm
Chic - don't let Mikey hear you say that...You will be his hero for ever and ever and ever...
6:13 pm
Erm, what 4 do I need? Let's see... (Nips off to get BJ's list.)
6:13 pm
Not all ballet danseurs are like Mikey, if you know what I mean...
6:14 pm
True, Chic, but eye-candy is eye-candy anyway.
6:14 pm
Yes I do Chic....and I do love watching ballet. they are truly amazing.
6:15 pm
the only gay guys I droled over were some of the ones as the showtime show "Queer as Folk" Gale Harold is superb...
6:15 pm
once again Jacs in correct....good eye candy is hard to beat :)
6:16 pm
Right. I need es5/12, 1st re4/7, 1st re5/10, tr5/12.
6:16 pm
Chic I've noticed that most gay guys are really hot. What a shame.
6:16 pm
ooh la la, Gale Harold. See him guest spot on Law & Order? a while ago
6:17 pm
We love that show Queer eye for the straight guy es 5 you might hire a companion for the evening; take out the 'r'
6:17 pm
es - take a person from north of england and put a vowel in front (which one is obvious)
6:17 pm
Never heard of the guy but just looked him up on Google images. Pretty!
6:18 pm
1st re4/7 Australia's Great Barrier RE4/7
6:18 pm
Missy he just did a spot on 'The Unit' last week...
6:18 pm
Thank you Chicj & Missyem. Got the 'es' now.
6:18 pm
6:19 pm
Minski, thank you for the re4/7. Can't believe I didn't see that!
6:19 pm
Hi Jac, how are you today?: Like the others I'm quite wowed by your icon. There must be a reason you chose it, but perhaps it's best not to know. I've been strugglung with strange words for three hours and I'm only halfvway through, so I'm off for a while to cook a good dinner for my very own hero.
6:19 pm
rre 5/10 do a race over again
6:20 pm
been studying for my arch. exams & not watching tv at night for WEEKS now, which is why I'm taking a babble break :)
6:20 pm
wut do you guys mean by 5/10 and stuff???
6:20 pm
Later Hetty :)
6:21 pm
I was so hoping he wasn't gay but he's an excellent actor. His role might be recurring on " the Unit" as one of the wives got a job on his radio station...
6:21 pm
Jaa - ro 4/5 means the word starts with ro has 4 letters and is worth 5pts
6:21 pm
Thanks for the re5/10, Chic.
6:22 pm
Jaa - you should go look at Angelsongs resource page and look at the rules of the game and the 2 letter word list. Welcome to babble.
6:22 pm
oh, hubba hubba! so now I gotta watch the Unit ;) or tape it
6:22 pm
ohmm k thanks
6:23 pm
tr 5/12 is the past tense of the tr 4/5 above same letter as starting one....
6:23 pm
Hetty - Not sure if you're still here. I chose the icon I did (the cover of The Stones' Sticky Fingers album) some time ago when I saw 'zipper day' on the theme list. I have the album on vinyl and it was the first thing that came into my head when I saw the theme.
6:23 pm
6:23 pm
Jaa - your welcome. if you need clues just ask we are willing to help :)
se7/28 - like the wavy edge of a knife blade.
6:31 pm
ty :)
6:34 pm
Just completed about 7 hours' worth of ironing (done on and off throughout the day) and came here after watching Jack Osbourne's 'Adrenalin' programme on tv. He seems to have turned his life around, I hope it stays that way.
6:34 pm
Holly cow....I've still got 23 wrd to find yet...I'm never going to finish if I dont just get right in the grid and stay there.
6:35 pm
Faerie - you do that and just yell when you need a clue. I'll be around and about for you.
6:35 pm
and I join in the dance of doneness.......... huff, puff
6:35 pm
I like Jack he is cool. I actually got my entire yard mowed and raked again today. That took about 41/2 hours. But no ironing...I gotta iron jeans tomorrow.
6:35 pm
Well done, Joey!
6:35 pm
my mantra of the day... when in doubt add an "s" or "er" to the end -- or both!!
6:36 pm
Congratulations Joey WHOOT!!!!!
6:36 pm
thanks, thanks, and congrats to all who finished before me
6:36 pm
Thanks Jacula I may need you before its over with :)
6:36 pm
Faerie - you need to build up lots of steam for ironing jeans. I hope you don't put creases in them though? (Saw the log earlier. LOL)
6:36 pm
joey's great at clues
6:36 pm
i was trying so hard to finish that I stayed out of the eye candy discussion - but it is one that is near and dear to my heart.
6:37 pm
missy - thanks. i will be here for a while
6:38 pm
Oh yeah Joey I'll be needing you. And as for the eye candy. Well we are not dead or blind so it must be ok to look :)
6:39 pm
i love to look - don't know the Gale person that was mentioned, I will have to look him up
6:39 pm
Nope Jacs I don't. Thanks for your concern. I used to do that years ago. But I learned my lesson.
6:40 pm
Missyem - sometimes it's a Latin day and you need to add an 'a' or an 'ae', if in doubt. Today's definitely an add an 's' or an 'er' day.
6:40 pm
brb I need a cold Pepsi.
6:40 pm
OK I've finished at last, but I really regret starting this one, I found it very difficult. That blessed colourful talking bird had me stumped for ages,
6:41 pm
CONGRATULATIONS WREN!!!!!
6:41 pm
congrats ExWren
6:41 pm
WELL DONE, ExWren. I'm sorry you found the grid so hard. Strange how we're all so different in what we find easy to see. Pretty Polly jumped out at me.
6:42 pm
could anyone spare a clue for the ja5/22 or je4/9, pl?
6:42 pm
Jac, thx, this is the first one I've tried that's so straightforward! usually I'm spelling with ae's oe's etc. :)
6:42 pm
Oh, and, Wren, life's too short for regrets! (Sound of Edith Piaf singing.)
6:42 pm
ja is the country
6:43 pm
ja5/22 is an Oriental country and also a decorative technique using black enamel.
6:43 pm
je is a girl's name
6:44 pm
TY....searching..
6:44 pm
je4 is a girl's name (think Miss Harlow or Norma J*** Baker) and also a fabric known as denim.
6:44 pm
6:45 pm
Hi everyone!!!, need help with cr7/44
6:45 pm
Beazus - what is the guy in my icon wearing? Your je4 word is the singular of that.
6:45 pm
Well you know my pet hate and there were thirteen of them!
6:46 pm
TY everyone! I can't believe I missed BOTH of those! I need coffee now.....thanks!
6:46 pm
Hi Peri. Your cr7/44 is a (Scottish) farmer.
missy, I already said, colourful and talks
6:46 pm
cr - if you are a person who does arts and cr......., change the a to an o
6:47 pm
6:47 pm
Wren - Yes, I know your pet hate. I was stumped by a couple of them myself today.
6:47 pm
6:48 pm
missy, it starts with a pa
6:48 pm
Long John Silver's shoulder pet whacks Missy with a wet and slimey haddock.:-)
Just popping in to say hi, and show my team spirit. One of my necessary computer programs threw a fit this morning, and I've spent the majority of the day trying to get it back right again, which I finally did. I have a few words babbled, from before the computer episode, but really should make like June Cleaver b4 S/O gets home. I'll do my best to do both:)
6:48 pm
I'm back
6:48 pm
I have 3 p's left, I've been saving them....
6:49 pm
indeed, Jac!
6:49 pm
need help with both fr7's please
6:50 pm
Missy - I do hope you mean you have three words beginning with 'p' left!
6:51 pm
Peri - fo7/40 - did the race beforehand. fo7/40 - to predict the future.
6:52 pm
yes, this isn't scrabble. there's something about 13 words that start with "pa" that is a little daunting -- got all the 6 letter ones, tho.... now to Lickety's clues & monkey-typing as reqd
6:53 pm
Hi again, Faerie. Was it you I saw in the log a while ago saying your place is haunted? If so, there's probably nothing to fear. My place is full of animals 'gone before', or used to be. It's been quiet lately, though.
6:53 pm
tndaisy, just read your bio, I figured CA is California but where is TN?
6:53 pm
I need the 2nd ta 4/4 it has to get the rest of be related to the 5/10 and 6/18 right?
6:53 pm
thanks, Jacula, had them, it is the fr7's that I need.
Tennessee, and yes, CA is California...er...Kahleefoinya ;)
6:54 pm
Peri - Only one fr7, a 7/40, plural of the fr5 before it.
6:55 pm
Peri - Sorry! Plural of the fr6 before it.
6:55 pm
Oh yes, didn't think of all those n's and e's and s's! I have been to Calif. though
6:55 pm
(Latin for brother/s.)
6:56 pm
thanks, Jacula, guess I don't have the right fr5 yes. Haven't checked lickety's list yet,
where in Calif, Wren?
6:57 pm
Faerie - 2nd ta4/4: 1. The weight of a container or wrapper that is deducted from the gross weight to obtain net weight. 2. A deduction from gross weight made to allow for the weight of a container. 3. Chemistry. A counterbalance, especially an empty vessel used to counterbalance the weight of a similar container. All the words sound like black sticky stuff on the roads or on flat roofs.
6:59 pm
OMG - I should know that one by heart I worked for a trucking company for 14yrs. I know all about the gross weight and ta** weights....pass the fish
6:59 pm
My husbands Male choir had a tour there, started in San Fransisco, then Yuba City, Sacramento, Fresno, Porterville, and Los Angeles, (I've missed one out but I can't remember which one)
6:59 pm
Peri - for the fr word you seek think of the first 4 letters of the fr****cide word that means the murder of a brother. Failing that, think of an fl** (level surface) and change the 2nd letter.
7:00 pm
I think I had it last, don't mind the feathers....
7:00 pm
Passes the pa4/5 and pa5/12 over to Faerie.
Eeep! My guy is in Yuba City quite often, for his job...that's still 3 hours away from where I am, but it's alot closer than the UK! lol
7:02 pm
Could someone please help me with the ES5/12?
7:02 pm
Yuba City is supposed to be the 'Prune' capital of the US isn't it?
Wren, I have NO idea, but I'll ask His Majesty when he gets home! lol
7:04 pm
Minski - es5/12 is a Scottish tax, apparently. It was a new word to me, also. The clue that got it for me was, 'You might have to pay for one to accompany you at night. Take out the 'r'.'
7:04 pm
LOL
7:04 pm
es 5 - old fashioned neckware - change the a to an e. or what you need for a formal night (partner of the opposite sex) drop the r
7:04 pm
2nd cr6/21 anyone?
7:05 pm
'Prune' capital?? Does that mean they use more toilet paper per capita than anywhere else. Sorry! UK toilet humour. We can't help it!
7:05 pm
cr 6, what you put in your pants if you iron them, change the second vowel to the second vowel
7:05 pm
Thanks Jac. Joey - I was just about to ask if the ES5 was the word for the old fashioned necktie. Thanks for answering my question before I asked it.
7:06 pm
thanks joey
7:06 pm
welcome minski, glad to help
7:06 pm
cr6 (2nd one) - Sounds like a dairy product you'd put on a sandwich. What is really is is this: A Malayan dagger with a wavy double-edged blade.
7:14 pm
fo= someone making you do something you don't want to do, and then add a consonent
7:15 pm
7:15 pm
7:16 pm
I'm going to turn in now, goodnight all, happy babbling
7:16 pm
8:06 pm
the cat is attacking my new belt
8:06 pm
no walmart - go to target, cute belts on clearance
8:07 pm
Blinkin' 'eck! Ren and Nut are going to go through Babble's allowed quota of exclamation marks for an entire month in a minute!
8:07 pm
oh no, i can't get the jingle bells off....i must get the jingle bells off!
8:07 pm
lol mistress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! - it'such fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8:08 pm
great nut - now i'm singing jingle bell rock!!!!!!!!!!!
8:08 pm
yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! exclamation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8:09 pm
If you pair don't quit exclaiming I'm going to go off on Google zippy mini skirts. LOL. (P suggested earlier that I should have done so!)
8:09 pm
one bell down, eleven to go!
8:10 pm
oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8:10 pm
just had me some major retail therapy guys, mostly in the form of bras
8:10 pm
er5/12 and er6/18 pleeze!
8:11 pm
*Sighs* I'm 'A Writer' girls! LOL. Such a stupid title. Our art decrees that any more than 2 exclamation marks is over the top, extraneous, not necessary.
8:12 pm
ah. got the er5/12.. now onto er 6/18!
8:12 pm
my art says the more the merrier!!!!!!!!! the bells doth toll no more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8:13 pm
er6/18 - roving.
Pls what is that ja5/22? Monkey is tired:( ty
8:13 pm
daisy: ja5/12 is a country in asia where Memoirs of a Geisha is from!
8:13 pm
oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is the expression on my face...total surprise!!!!!!!!!! 8-O
8:14 pm
Daisy - ja5 is the name of a country quite like China.
8:14 pm
I have located my two missing escapees: the last te 6/18, just above the Latin earth, and pa 6/21, the one after the apple skinning gadget,
omg...*SLAP* ty ty...I told you money is tired...I must be, to have missed that one...
8:15 pm
okay, time to bathe and bed, you all have a lovely night!
8:15 pm
walnutchen, could you clue me in on er 6/12?
8:15 pm
Inge - does that mean you finally have '0 words to find'?
8:16 pm
Nut - have a lovely slop and tickle. LOL.
8:16 pm
nite nut nite mistress.....going home in about an hour...must finish this "work stuff"
8:16 pm
I just need those two 6 ers, then I am done. I expressed myself poorly didnt I?
8:16 pm
hopefully we'll get to chitter chatter more tomorrrow
8:17 pm
Abe - there is no er6/12?
8:17 pm
My post impied that those two words had gotten lost on my records, so I found them. Still dont know what they are though.
8:17 pm
just realized that...my brain is mush. less than 20 words...thanks jacula
8:17 pm
'Bye Ren. Thanks again to you and Smaller for the cards. Much appreciated.xx
TAking a break, finished or not; my eyes feel like two holes in the snow...bbl if he's not home by then. Ty for all the help, asked for and mooched.
8:19 pm
'Bye Daisy.x
8:20 pm
Inge - what words are you referring to?
8:20 pm
me, too, time, now, away from the computer, 15 left, oh well! brain is MUSH & there's always next time.....
8:21 pm
'Bye Missy. 15 to go. You'll do it.
8:22 pm
found the te 6/18, now only the pa 6/21
8:22 pm
ok, i was trying to ask for es 5/12 before...will trade for other clues!
8:24 pm
thx Jacula
8:24 pm
Not sure if anyone wants (or is even left in here) to get advice on Babbling now. However, the best method I have found is to find words in no particular order, except for the patterns they make and lead on to, and also to go away and do other things when you hit a wall. I (or more often my Other Half, Paul, who gets up before me) handwrites the grid. So, most of it is done on paper, stream of consciousness etc., with no lists and no clues.
8:25 pm
Jacula, I was referring to my 8:15 post, the pa 6 I need is above the talking bird and after the apple skinning gadget.
8:25 pm
hi all, ap5,12? i have one, like you are ap*** to do something (lol, i guess that's how you'd use it!)
8:26 pm
Inge - pa4/5 - young fish (usually a salmon) under 2 years' of age. Otherwise, think of one of Henry VIII's Wives, one of the Catherines.
8:26 pm
that's great advice, jacula. i do the stream of consciousness for the first hour when i'm at work. it gets a lot of words and you can then fill in the blanks
8:28 pm
Sorry jacula I have the fish, I need the lpa 6/21 rigth above it.
8:29 pm
Abe - did you get the es word yet? If not, think e+someone whose surname begins with a 'Mac' or a 'Mc'.
8:30 pm
Inge - pa6/21 above the fish is the plural potato/fruit peeler.
8:30 pm
still looking jacula. thanks for your patience/ clues at this hour!
8:31 pm
Abe - I'm a night owl, hence my 'nick'. No probs.
8:32 pm
I deserve the fish, but I dont like fish. So here I am finished at last, at last at last at last ................
8:32 pm
Abe - for the es word - think of a nation that celebrates Hogmanay with Haggis and whisky etc.
8:33 pm
First time I've done this today, but Inge derserves it... *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR INGE*~*~*~*~*~*
8:33 pm
aha. it was the haggis that did it!
8:33 pm
Thansk jacula for your patience. I do usually follow a routine similar to yours, but often itleaves me with 20 to 50 words.
8:34 pm
Abe - WELL DONE! A haggis casserole is on its way to you.:-)
8:35 pm
mmm, i can't wait. it will go with the chocolate pudding i just brought to the computer
8:36 pm
Featherbee - Welcome and thanks for your input! How are you doing with the grid?
8:37 pm
Abe - don't spill any of that pudding on your keyboard unless it is one of those very expensive Health Service washable/scrubbable ones!
8:38 pm
ok I'm back to find my last word it is an fo but haven't figured out which one yet.
8:38 pm
i have a laptop (named bernie) so if anything gets on the keyboard i am in big trouble. the pudding has its own table, away from my elbow
8:38 pm
YAY inge! (hi all)
8:38 pm
hi stidmama
8:38 pm
hi all.... so i thought my vocab would get a lil better but damn, i'm only around 55 and struggling, though i must admit i've been watching tv also. **sigh**
8:38 pm
congrats Inge! :)
8:39 pm
My friend John fell asleep on my couch so I just covered him up and left him there. He was so tired. He drove 800 miles today.
8:39 pm
well three+ hours left and I am still at only 88. But Jac taking a step away helped a tidge.
8:39 pm
And a great big weary cannot find words HOWDY to all.
8:40 pm
8:41 pm
8:42 pm
Hi Harp ( I can call you that today) and other Babble friends, and Babbler'ss friends asleep under blankets. Who needs what now?
8:42 pm
jacula, thanks for the welcome! I'm at 105 right now, so doing so-so. Doesn't help that I'm watching tv too. :)
8:42 pm
I be good how you b T.
8:43 pm
Tamara-I've one word left and trying my best to find it before I ask Jacula to help me. Don't you love her icon.
8:45 pm
And I am finished..Thanks for all the clues Jacs :)
8:45 pm
crap. I just started. hmmm, I need better classes or you guys need bigger icons *grin*
8:46 pm
*Jac sniggers to herself. 'Mick Jaggers left 'plum' has been very helpful in the distraction stakes today.* ROFLOL. If you have the album on vinyl and care to undo the proper copper coloured Levis zip, you will find there's a dull pair of white y-fronts beneath the jeans. No more unveiling allowed. LOL.
8:47 pm
Tamara - please how can you miss her icon...You need better glasses for sure hon.
hi everybody! : )
8:47 pm
8:54 pm
Thats what I thought you said also but how strange. The Babble server is going nutts lately.
8:54 pm
Oh believe me, I will scream in a minute. I have the 2 letter list and I am getting all the ones I see and going down through the list.
8:54 pm
If it's Star Trek later, does tat cover all series'?
8:54 pm
*that
8:56 pm
So before my company showed up Jacula you were about to say something about my ghost friend or your ghost pets.
8:56 pm
Tamara - many of us are just here to chat and clue now. Ask and you shall receive...
8:57 pm
well, it didn't specify, so assumed it covers all series -- I chose to represent DS9...
8:57 pm
hmm, either of the ea ones?
8:58 pm
featherbee -- if you drop the h from your name... and the insect and the first letter... then plural...
8:58 pm
Ah, yes, Faerie. I was going to say that the adice you have been given about telling them whose home it is now is valuable. It often works, should you want to get them to leave. However, your lady is something I'd like to talk about in more depth in private... Are you on MSN Messenger?
8:58 pm
ea you sit down to the dinner table to ea* so you are an ea***
8:59 pm
wait, nvm! didn't check them off, thought i didn't have them and nothing was working
8:59 pm
Oh, Stid, you look so strict and sexy there. LOL.
8:59 pm
Yes I am Jacs. Let me give you my MSN address just a sec I just downloaded it a few days ago.
9:00 pm
Jacs it should be Kayfaerie@msn.com
9:02 pm
wrong it is kayfaerie@hotmail.com
9:02 pm
Dear Jac, dinner is now over and I'm back for the last 40 words. Please can you clue me for one pa/5 and one pa/6? I have the hymn of praise, the plural of the kitchen gadget (6), and the Italian form of "park": so what am I missing?
9:03 pm
Oops---for p/5 I also have the Latin for father
9:04 pm
Thatt's okay Faerie, have now added you and sent an e-mail about MSN Messenger to a total stranger. LOL.
9:06 pm
Hello Hetty. I think you need the plural of the Mrs. Henry Tudor! A Catherine.
9:06 pm
ROFL
9:06 pm
How strange a place the mind is--once my uncrossed eyes saw the Latin for father I realized that like everyone else in the world I had two of them. . .
9:08 pm
does anyone have the first fo 7/40?
9:08 pm
the one like predicting the future?
clue for the 2nd re 7/32?
9:09 pm
i'm stuck on my last one -- the te 6/18 before latin earth -- does anyone have a clue -- please?
9:10 pm
re 7/32 --> bitter regret
9:10 pm
Of course! There are zillions of these young fish spawning locally every fall just a few miles from us. Bless you.
9:10 pm
te6/18 - One who rips.
9:10 pm
re 7/32 - you feel re***** when you have done something wrong that you feel bad about now.
9:13 pm
fo 8,55? i know how it should be with points, but am not getting it
9:14 pm
fo 8/55 is plural for fo 7/40
9:14 pm
brb
9:17 pm
it is? i'm still not seeing it! the one 7,40 already uses the plural letter, and the other doesn't end up near it.
9:17 pm
Gurugirl - te the 5 before it just add the 2nd vowel on the end
1st te 5/10?
9:18 pm
ok, last word . first fo 7/40. not the plural, but the other...
9:20 pm
fo 7/40 that the 5/16 before it and add the 2nd se4/4 to it.
9:20 pm
faeriekae -- thanks -- but i'm having trouble with that for some reason...the double vowel on the end is coming back to me as an invalid word.
9:20 pm
Can anyone clue me on the last na 5/12? I know I'll need the fish afterwards, but it'll be softer than this piece of plywood I have been whacking my forehead with...
9:20 pm
10:13 pm
BB - I think you may have tried to go it alone for far too long today. Ask for clues now, in earnest!
10:13 pm
10:15 pm
jacula - how far are you from Oxford
10:15 pm
198 mark
10:15 pm
Just to keep you busy, Jac, have you a tip for na/5 12? I have the sleepy one yawn yawn
10:16 pm
thx Kristin....im right at the halfway mark then
10:16 pm
Scatty - no idea without checking a map. My village is 10 miles from Birmingham.
10:17 pm
10:17 pm
i will need plenty of help but still hammering away here. got the FO 5
10:17 pm
10:18 pm
i think it takes about an hour from here, there aren't any engeneering jobs up there are there, hubby still looking for work.( since begining of Jan )
10:19 pm
I think the distance is rouglhyl 112 miles, as I recall from going out on the road with my other half.
10:19 pm
god, my spelling is getting worse
10:20 pm
okay only need the FO 8 on that last set of clues
10:20 pm
Scatty - what kind of engineer is he?
10:21 pm
I ask that last q seriously.
10:21 pm
fo8/55 - one who sees the future.
10:22 pm
TYVM Jac. I was using the wrong consonant.
10:23 pm
Scatty - where I live, or near to it, the major Midland car factory died recently. T'was a long death, but it's gone now.
10:23 pm
Jac, my pachyderm may never forget the way but he refuses to take me back to my birthplace near Brum. He also reminds me to remind you Iam seeking help with na/5 12, please
10:24 pm
engineering to do with aircrafts, just looking at his cv
10:25 pm
na5/12 - plural of the sleep disease starter.
10:25 pm
na5/12 - plura; police informers.
10:27 pm
Scatty - had you asked me that back in the 70s, I would have lead you to Lucas Aerospace where my Dad worked.
10:28 pm
I don't think that either the Hall Green or the Solihull plants are still working full tilt now. However, tell him to try Lucas Aerospace.
10:29 pm
Jacula - this is what he has in his cv aircraft related engineering, advising on maintenance policy, procedures, equipment, spares forecasting and procurement.Responsible for training, health and safety, quality assurance and technical standards of 70 personnel
10:29 pm
he joined up in the 70's
10:30 pm
Scatty - the only space in the workplace I can stil see for him is Lucas Aerospace. Just based on my own experience though.
10:31 pm
You're such a help, Jac. Now could you find for me a way of cracking of/5? It must be another slang term methinks
10:32 pm
of5/16 - more frequently!
10:32 pm
i'll get him to have a look, cheers, he didn't think it was going to be so hard finding a job, but when you have been doing the same thing for 30 years, its quite hard to adapt
10:32 pm
Think Shakespeare.
10:38 pm
I've got my head down with printouts, and word lists on the screen, and trolling the chat for clues every now and then. I've got 80 words left to go. Loving the word runs with the er's and the plurals!
10:38 pm
10:39 pm
