I truly believe in representing all holidays this time of year--we're such a wonderfully mixed country--but a lawsuit?
a rabbi complained that the seattle airport only had xmas trees, he wanted to add a menorah. they decided to take down all the trees because there was no way they could put up symbols to honor all religious choices/holidays

we bought the boys long johns last year -- it was the first time we took them skiing. They were a little unsure why -- until we got to the pass. LOL

During the holidays the ones who weren't visiting with their families would visit with us. My children benefited so greatly and so did the client. Unfortunately, we're not allowed to do this anymore. nonnie, harpjane,faerie, just came on and was reading the chat...my son has Down Syndrome--he is 41 years old and is still at home. He is the kindest, most considerate person. He travels to work by himself and he is completely independent in taking care of himself personally. Everyone who knows him get to really care for him.
Most of our patients/clients have been abandoned. And we can't take them home with us either but like you just said it used to be common practice but no longer
