lol Fran... good one to leave for last. I often end with hate. Blind to it.
at least he doesn't fling pooh moon!
i often find hate toward the beginning, if not first. always good to face it and push it aside.
i learned something new today, that he6/24. i'd never looked up the definition, now it's been tucked away for next time.
I guess that's true. Still coulda warned a girl. I'll Try to get him back to you like I got him, but I can't promise... I dont have doritos.
moon, there are doritos in the sin bin, you can let him loose in there later
that is very heavy dc
so true, dc. I try to learn, but seem to have trouble there.
oh yeah lots of doritos there...
loose! Are you out of your mind, Fran, no loose monkey in the sinbin! I left pancakes, bowl, roasted chicken legs and lots of chocolate in the sin bin!
chocolate...
okay, maybe take him in there supervised. :-)
Ok, good. Well, I got that leash, sprite... Maybe we could just hang him next to the window...
misspelled again, dc? chocolat?
*adds a 65% w/hasselnussen and currants to penalty box*
are the the 'first' pancakes Sprite?
I dont get to supervise anything after the petting zoo "incident".

wanna brag about my hubby. I had offered to pick up a friend in Zeeland, which is a 3 hour drive, because the boat (ferry) is broken. Hubby decided that 6 hours of driving was not good for me and offered to go himself. He is on his way now. I bless him and the Powers that sent this great man my way.
Hey ruru! quit Throwing the chocolates!

Nite Ruru!

stop petting it moon
Just Three Words is up there w/Scrabulous for me :)
just make it work on the words
dc, I don't understand italian, (though I can guess a lot from latin), but I always love to see how multitalented you are.
gefeliciteerd, sprite
dc, I LOVE Just Three Words!
"If i were to believe that my response were to a person who would return me to the world, then i would answer without fear of infamy"
thanks, BabbleRabble :) It is a blessing, I know!
It's okay seain. Honest. I was joking, really. Although, in all seriousness, Italian books on tape are one of the only things that can put me to sleep.
sprite, dc, i think the three of us are the most active on just 3 words
It is very cool that you actually remember how to speak another language and practice.
I think so too, Fran! Have to get back to it today, I couldn't for a while because of the crash and after that I was so busy with reinstalling everything. But I miss adding words :)
my job pays me in part for my ability to speak, read, and write Spanish.
Is "just 3 words" another online game?
it's a Facebook app, moon
woof: it is writing a story together. You can only add 3 words per turn :)
ty, dc.
i haven't added anything for a while because no one else was adding anything new, i didn't want to add to my own words.
you build stories, 3 words at a time, with it
Oooh. That could get random.
mostly not, oddly.
you cannot, Fran! It tells you to get lost when you try and add to yourself.
like adding: "your point is?"
woof: often does. But with players like Fran and dc it is fun.
dan's story is getting pretty crazy, he has the most people contributing to his.
exactly, BabbleRabble!
there's one from a friend of mine that no one has updated since me, which has disappointed me. It's story of the death of an Orange.
dc, I would be happy to contribute to that. Is there a way to find it?
yeah, it does, it just pulls up the last three you added, and that's that.
if it's public, sprite and i can search for it and add to it
it's in Spanish, Fran, else i'd refer you.
ah, alas, dc
hah! well, that's not going to work
talk about random
my spanish consists of about 10 words total, I'd say.
my hubby could, though... he speaks spanish.
the title is 'La naranja que murió a tu culpa' - the orange that died by your fault.
by uliv
yeah, taco tamale burrito etc
eduarde del cerro
eduardo del cerro
hey, you know the same ones I do, BabbleRabble :D
I know about that many swear words in spanish. It's been so long tho, that I get the flow of it all messed up or remember the wrong words.
i found it dc, only two contributions!
the word 'taco' is profane in Spain.
yes, fran, like i said, moribund :(
I can ask hubby tomorrow, dc, if you like?
I havent bothered trying to practice since I last called some one a monkey face.
oh do, i think it could go in fun directions :)
will do then! I will ask him to translate, and if he cannot come up with words (not really his strong suit), I give the words and ask him to translate back :)
i'm going to follow it, just to see if i can understand bits and pieces...after all, i do speak menu in quite a few languages
it's hanging with 'It nevr thought...'
ohoh, woof... although for some people I would consider that a compliment... but somehow they never see it that way themselves...
dc: it would become....
It probably would have gone better if I hadnt been asking for direction, sprite =P
yawn......hi all,boy it is early here I couldn't sleep so I'll try Babbleing for a while.........yawn,yawn...;-(
orangent you outrageous?
LOL woof! But not as painful as the toupet...
hi hodag!!
hi ho
LOL babrab
morning, hodag :D
Morning hodag!
dc, if you can translate my entry, I will be happy to add it
True. And it probably sounded more graceful in spanish.
hi Hodag
wb Lynxx
spite, question - which sense of become - active/intentional or transformative?
hiya dc,moon sprite and lyn hows it going this morning???
slower, but nice, so far.
nice grid, ho!

night lynxxx!
Gnite Lynxx. =)
good night, lynxxx
'que se convertirÃa'
sleep well lyn............;-}
sleep wel, lynxxx!
sprite, you studied Latin?
I did, dc
enjoy, ho!
i helped a roommate study latin vocab back in our uni days; i could understand about 70% of it from my spanish.
exactly, I can understand quite a few things written in spanish, though I couldn't pronounce it correctly for the life of me, or produce acceptable spanish myself. Words added, dc!
dc, the story is still very very young... does your friend speak english? He/she might consider starting over in english and invite us to the game.
ty sprite........8-}
yes, he speaks English - he went to uni in England and plays babble :)
i'll suggest that to him.
Did you not hear, sprite? seain's been recruiting.
tomhundleyrn, acelightning, grlsctgnbad, and uliv all in the last several weeks :)
yeah, I heard :) wtg dc. Well, if he does, he will find a lot of babblers willing to contribute to his story, I think :)
good point :)
ahhhh hence the rough way dc treated acelightning, grin.
she and i have known each other for several years :)
it sounded like that, indeed, dc :)
we see each other every October.
that regular, huh!
though she's in New Jersey, i could probably arrange to visit other times.
we both go to the same privat gathering each October. And we're both on LiveJournal, too, and a mailing list.
I cannot for the life of me find the last ro word...
moon, you'll find it like you learned the multiplication tables, by ro4/5 combo.
I have only one ro combo
those are the two I have =) ty though.
yes, only one, sprite
well, ro4 and ro5
that R gives ro*2, ry, and ru*4
are there 2 ro4s?
looks like there cannot be anymore T words then... got them all and only 2x ro
no, you have all the ROs, moon.
ro4 and ro5
well, no wonder I cant find em. head desk
do you have the soccer ry4?
Yes. It appears I'm missing an ru
plural of the woman's name?
ty. That was it.
There's one i forgot to look up after last night =P
ru5 chris steak house :)
yummmm
Ok. that's only somewhat funny. I've never heard that in a sentence unless it was a name. ]
And I Am getting hungry again. Where's that monkey...
Oh my ru4less queen.... you are still the treasure of my dreams...
song from Kayak
ruthless
ru4: commiseration: a feeling of sympathy and sorrow for the misfortunes of others; "the blind are too often objects of pity"
ack, stupid typo in the wrong place - sorry!
wrong box, rasdan, go eat chocolate in the penalty box! i hear there are doritos there, too.
Good. Otherwise we'd need to talk about you serenading ru's monkey. {{grabs monkey back}}
hungry, fran?
lol Rasdan, at least you know the song!
no dc, i just love ru**s chris steak house
Just found this game earlier today - it's addicting :)
Why? You going to toss her ras for a snack??
terribly so, Rasdan, be warned! Before you know it, you are pro and spending an hour or more here every day... :)
yes, it is addictingn
It is that ras.
i didn't realize you were that new rasdan! welcome
There's more abulia for you BR
Thanks Fran :)
whence hail you, rasdan?
I'm from Oregon
sorry, wherebouts live you?
oh, you understood! :D most peolpe get baffled by the whence
heh, no problem dc - I have friends that like to speak like that :)
and welcome to the game and the madness, of course, Rasdan
may i ask which part of oregon?
Rut ro. Another scadian LOL
I'm still not very good at finding the big words but I'm getting the hang of it
yeah, that was my thought, too moon :D
I live in a town called Gladstone - just outside Portland
oh, cool. i have a friend in Eugene, and my friend's wife is from near Coos Bay.
Is there some sort of "internet trolling device" I dont know about?? Something with a reel and a large chunk of emu on it somewhere? I'm starting to worry.
Cool - small(ish) world :)
confused me, moon, like trolling for fish?
Yeah. But more trolling for geeks... Wait. I suppose it would have a rare edition book on the reel.
haha, or put some C# books on the end :)
C++ is superior to C#
no need for all of that. People like that always end up here one way or the other :)
nah - I started out in C and C++ now I program in C# and I like it much better
It's been a couple of years since I've been to Mt hood. It was a beautiful area.
true, sprite. it was a fellow geek from a weekly geek dinner i sometimes attend that told me about this site.
I found it while stumbling actually :)
i've heard that from several peoaple, rasdan, but it's microsquash, so i'm uncinvinced. but i hate to code, so my opinion doesn't matter.
So did I ras. One day online and I find *this*. I havent been anywhere else online, really. Maybe this Is the End of the Internet.
I code for a living - it is microcode ut computers are so fast these days that it doesn't matter if it's bytecode or not
no, just a deep well in it, moon
Nah, I've been to that site and this one isn't it
It's a great sucking vortex of geekiness.
good point, ras
but it's close enough for me :)
ah, I love it when you talk dirty, woof :)
haha
If you like that look at These multisyllabic babies ;)
oh! brb
I need to finish this grid... I chat too much lately, babbling is taking up a lot of time that way, grin.
i got my elder nephew this for xmas: http://tinyurl.com/3xuuh5
Oh, gee. That's just awful sprite. I Hate that. =P
well, at least the conversation matches the name :)
argh, I had the long i words and not the short one... I can be so dense
I love it, woof, that is the problem :D
i'm seeking the long REs now
cool, finished the first row :)
it seems my family thinks they deserve some part of me too
wtg ras!
negative chatter tsk tsk tsk
Oh well, silly Family.
*grin*
Good Morning evryone, can i please ask what a communty chest is ,i found under babbller anon?and where does one send the Money to if needed
Congrats ras. I've been at it about 2 hours longer than you and *I* just did that =P
that mousekit is cool, I kinda want one
Morning Yvo. I dunno, tho. I'll have to go look.
gelid /JEL-id/, adjective: Extremely cold; icy.
morning, yvo
the community chest is where we donate to keep that site running.
You know seain, a friend of mine makes something like that for fair. But instead of on a stick, it's on a string lol
hi ivo
nice word, dc, for scrabulous!
nephew needs to see practical application of math and reading, and that mouse kit is step 1
yes, it is, sprite, ur right.
It's got a little superball in it that rolls up a rubber band and you can lead it around on a string or wind it up and let it run through the booth. I'm not allowed to do that anymore, but it was fun.
sounds fun, woof
would that be beside the onetime dues and thank you dceain
if I got one of those and put some fur on it, I could Really have fun.
t
yes, yvo.
t to you too, Angel!
morning, angel!
Morning angel =)
thank you kindly
it is just to keep the babanon site running, Yvo. It is not related to the babble site itself!
The thought just occured to me, sprite... today's your theme day and you seem to bee the only one without feet.
sprite mostly doesn't do the themes. :)
got it now ,but need to find out where i can help to keep that going ,brandyjack does come in handy for me
woof, I have this weird problem since the reinstall. I cannot open any profile. I can click on the icons, but nothing happens. Nor with control. It is driving me mad!
I bet he'd be happy to help if you emailed him to ask, Yvo.
Does having the pro account help you when solving the puzzle?
click the make a contribution link on the main page.
yes rasdan
Still? I thought you were going to have the hubby look at it.
good morning all!
Oh yes, ras. It does greatly.
we get to see how many words come from each letter, and how many words of each length there are.
I will have to consider that then - it's somewhat time-consuming without it
Morning Mva.
morning, MVA!
and besides, dc is right. I am usually loyal to my own icon. And if I join the theme, I like to make my own icon... for which I would need a program I still have to reinstall, lol.
hi mva!
my hubby? Lol, never. I am the computer one in da house.
hi MVA!
Rasdan: when you are pro, you can email Lickety for his browser (unless you are on a Mac). With the clue list next to the grid, you can go through the puzzles really fast.
Ah. Ok. But I thought I'd mention it =P
how's the grid today?
not too bad, mva
twisty M. But not too bad.
it was pretty good mva, with the help of friends. :-)
and if anyone has an idea what might be blocking my profiles and such, pleassssse let me know! It is driving me bananas.
You'll have to work around the Q alot.
it is fun, MVA. Some weird words, but mostly good ones!
Wait, sprite... What version of windows are you running??
thanks for the info - it's fun to try it without it but once you get stuck, it would help :)
ur sure it's not a windows, yahoo, google, or other, pop-up blocker, sprite?
sprite, despite your espoused reluctance to do so, my suggesetion is to write dr
god, exlain the problem and ask for help
windows xp pro, woof
it is not a babble site problem, BabbleRabble, it happens on other pages as well. I think I can escape the evil fate of emailing drG this time :)
Are you familiar with it's firewall, at all?? Ie, have you turned that stoopid thing off and gotten something better, yet?
wait, I could turn it off for a moment, I guess. Hold on.
i disable windows firewal, i find it a royal PIA to configure and use, and it's overly restrictive.
Try it, please.
XP's is Useless.
I call those PITA's lol
doesn't seem to make a difference... let me restart this thing.
I guess it is a small world, today.
You have to, sorry
sprite: use this tool: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/def ault.htm
pitas, yes, lol. Thanks BabbleRabble, will try the protection scan then... so far no difference. Should I reboot with firewall off? Or just restart IE and Babble Expert?
how many words today? and is lickety's clues working today?
cheeky, lickety is on holiday, no clues there.
sprite - try using Firefox, see if it helps
brb, wil reboot first.
rasdan, if you yous babble expert, it uses IE only.
Oh - I'm just doing the regular one - ddin't know that :)
oh, dear, channelling my inner Pennsylvanian. i meant ... you use...
I figured it out but thought it was funny hehe
You can have both open at the same time, seain. It's what I do.
not at work, i cannot
going to make some tea, bbl
and at work, only IE anyway
Ah, I forgot about that. You're right. You can't
I made everyone at work switch to FF while at work
ok, rebooted without firewall, no difference. Let me put it back on now, and let me curse in silence
small company so I also moonlight as the IT guy so I can do that kind of stuff :)
Hmm. Ok, sorry sprite. But that thing really does suck. I'll email you about it for your liesure.
when i worked in private industry, everyone used firefox or opera
hmm, this one word on the U is my bane right now
but, this be the gov't
the ut5 is a latin plural, ras
Oh, figures why I don't know it then
You'll be surprised, ras. It concerns female parts I'm sure you Do know.
more than one of where a baby mammal grows.
I even added the babble expert to the programs that are excluded from the firewall... no change. What on earth can it be... I bet it is something so incredibly simple... like a check or uncheck in the internet options... grrrrrr.
hold down the control key while clicking on it
oh, the re8/60 is not at all spelled as pronounced in my dialect. rarelyseen the word in print.
probably, sprite. It usually is.
alt+click sometimes works when ctrl+click doesn't
makes no difference, Rasdan, that was the very first thing I tried. It is not the popup blocker.
Oh, a javascript error perhaps?
finally found the 8s :)
could be... how do I fix that?
wtg dc :)
You can't - youc an go into the browser settings though and have it warn you of any JS errors it finds
sprite, is java webstart installed?
ok, will do that, thanks
Congrats seain. Gjob.
not as far as I know, dc... I have the standard java installation
it's always best to instal the full JDE.
woo - got the ut word - thanks for the hint dc and moon
Not a problem, ras. But I figured even if you didnt Like em, you knew the Word lol
Java Development Environment. or at least the JRE w/webstart (Java Runtime Environment)
not just the base JVM.
haha - I have two kids :)
let me check, dc... perhaps that is the problem. I used the have the whole package, I think... all I did after reinstalling was letting the update run.
Still I've been practicing being "subtle". Work with me here =P
and on Windows, make sure to use a SUN Jave environment - more stable than MS or IBM's
oh well then I have two things that are from the latin plural :)
I have many. But I said SubTle. lol
hmm, I need to work on my subtlety then because I thought that was :)
-i is 'latin' or 'italian' plural. -x is french plural -en is german plural -e is latin plural -a is latin plural. for your reference, ras.
I have sun, dc... and I just checked on the java si4. It says I have the version 6 update 3, which seems to be the latest one, sigh. Ras, I cannot find any JV checkers. I have only one check/uncheck line under Java and that is Use JRE 16003 for <applet> That one is checked.
that will help as I come across it
I thought suggestive had a different meaning than subtle...
No, not java - javascript
this is an ajax game so it doesn't use java - it uses javascsript
sprite, i feel about H words almost as you do about K ones.
Ok, now That is subtle. lol
poor dc :( Would a Hug Help?
how are points for words determined?
I can't find a pattern - some are doubled, others aren't
LOL Eveil sprite.
see help link above, ras, for explanation
Ras, I can't find one single thing about javascript in the options, but I do see a check for check on every scripting error. That one?
hugs are always good :) *hug*
Yeah, that one
great :)
oh, I guess it does help to read the documentation :)
Ras: rtfm... isn't that what they say? :D
Based on the tile value as listed in the help link. That would be one of the ways "pro" helps. Instead of having to go look all the time, for me, the tiles all have the point values on them.
oh, mine have the point values on them
No, sprite. That's what they type. They rarely say It.
you get it all for 2 weeks, ras, then it goes away if no go pro
Oh, well then I should probably go pro because I like that
Uhm, ok. So if they had the points on them, that was a very good question...
well, the points aren't that useful but the tile stats and word stats are
nothing happens...
i think the point values stay on the tiles, but you lose the other stats.
I figured it was worth pro just to get rid of the big ears on the generi-head.
points value will stay on the tiles, yes
you won't get tile stats or word stats or even how many total words there are
sprite - then it's not a javascript error - sorry, don't know what the problem is
sprite: whats up?
those ears match mine so it look slike me :)
profiles don't pop-up for her, bgfsog
morning, bfsog
hm... what is this... in the windows firewall, it says under advanced: your network settings are damaged.
hi bfsog
And I know it's grey in prtland, alot, but that's silly, ras. =P
Morning bf
good morning Babblers!
I figure if the shoe fits :)
I have an issue with some links... can't get to the profiles when I click on the icons, in Babble, for instance, bsfog
hey all
hi Angel, wb
Morning again angel, wb =)
wb, angel
If you can navigate to some web pages then your network damages shouldnot affect that. You have tried holding Ctrl + clicking an icon? Try holding Shift + click icon
stuped estate recipients. i always miss th4.
shift-click doesn't work bfsog.
this is a good one too, sprite: https://account.live.com/autocare.aspx
Have you recently installed new browser/software? Did you re-launch your browser? Did you restart your system?
yes, she recently reinsalled whole system, bfsog
bsfog: contrl, shift, alt + click tried, no joy. right mouse click + open in new window: no joy. Same with control and alt: no joy. Popup blocker unabled: no joy.
disabled, sprite, not unabled.
what browser?
thanks BabbleRabble, but it is not an msn problem
IE7, bsfog
dc, thanks :) disabled, I mean.
ahem, get firefox
could be an IE7 isuse, it's weird about javascript.
how do you know that?
evidently it only works under IE
lol... sweet, bsfog. But the Babble Expert works with IE.
sprite, have you considered switching to Firefox?
which I don't quite understand since I'm using it right now in FF 3
wouldn't solve my babble problem, Angel
what is babble expert?
babble works fine in firefox. babble expert, a seperate program, only works with Ie.
it's a program from LicketySplitAUS that many of us really like, ras
babble itself even seems to work best in ff, they say.
sprite: since you wiped your system then re-installed, have you rebooted
yes it does, sprite.
several times, she has, just in this short while :)
ok BabbleRabble, am doing the check for msn now...
I haven't tried it in IE but it's very fast in FF 3
Rasdan, babble expert is a program developed by a pro member to make playing babble easier.
what does it do dc?
bsfog: about 30 times now, yes...
okay, the links are JavaScript so I think there's the problem
combines babble and lickety's babble clues, and provides a single-entry box, which sends a single word to the grid, and muliple words to chat.
for instance, Ras: it has an Add box for words and chat. If you type one word, it is added to the wordbox. If you type more words, it goes to the chatbox. No more bloopers that way :) It is why I use the expert, even though I don't often use the 2nd letter clues.
oh clever
wow - that's nice
okay peeps, time for me to get to bed, see you all tomorrow!
sleep well, fran.
I will have to try it out if I can bring myself to use IE :)
It also interfaces with Lickety's clue page. When he's not on vacation.
bsfog: Rasdan had me put on the warning for every scripting error. No warnings so far.
ras, after ur pro, you can request expert from lickety.
Night Fran. Sleep sweet.
cya, Fran
the only thing I use IE for is testing webpages under construction.
it still interfaces, moon, just doesn't update while he's away.
night! *poof*
hmm, I wonder why it only works in IE - I'll hav eto take a look at the source code for it and see if I can't help make it work under FF too
Rasdan: since IE is included in windows, the Babble Expert will use it automatically. You don't have to do anything special. Will work, unless you are on a Mac :D
ras, becuase it's an IE-embedded app.
I'm on a mac sometimes too but right now I'm on a PC
Shhh. I prefer to think of his being "away" as a software problem. =)
Rasdan, if you can: lickety would love that! Drop him a line!
hi again
many of us would love to run expert w/FF
he would love to make the expert available for macs too, but he can't do that himself.
wb ace. Good morning.
hi ace
well, make it work on FF and it's now available :)
where do I find this app?
what only works with IE? i refuse to use it, except to test web pages i make. my usual browser is SeaMonkey
BabbleRabble: no problems with msn found, alas.
BabbleExpert, ace
dc - i suppose i have to pay for Pro first...
Honestly, ras, I use ff as my browser, and I would use expert in it, if I could. But I'd rather use Babble expert in IE than try to do the puzzles on the page, ever again.
you'll have that soon, ace.
sprite: goto http://andrewbuchan.co.uk/testing/jste st.html
you're part of a group of people i'm going to upgrade
to check if JS is enabled
well, what URL do I go to to find the app in question?
obviously if she's here JS is enabled
ras, you must be pro, and request it from lickety
well, obviously should have been in ""
dc - hey, you don't have to do that for me! i really was gonna check my cash flow, maybe even now-ish
you can email him from his page, lickety's babble clues, link below grid.
up to you ace, i'll be doing next week
Yeah, I'm on his site - I'll have to remember to look into it once I get to pro
dc - that's mighty sweet of you...
took me all of ten minutes to go pro when I first found Babble. I had it bad, even then...and I haven't regretted going pro at all.
I am doing the one care safety scan now
i went pro the moment the stats went away. :)
It's not really hard to remember, ras. People mention lickety or expert often enough.
*hugs Angel* Angel made a terrific help si4 for beginners too, it is among the links at the bottom!
likety is the husband of mrpresident
I went pro the moment drG made proship available, just to support him.
yes, angel's site is nice.
LOL welcome to Babbl-Anon. My name is Woof. I'm a Babblaholic.
angel - first, i have always hated paying for software, websites, etc. second, i have a cash flow problem at the moment because of xmas
ack, it's almost 3am - I have to go to bed - see you all later
seeya ras
night Ras, thanks for trying to help :)
did you try the link sprite
sorry couldn't get you to the final answer - night :)
Night ras. have a good day.
moon, you got it, exactly. I can quit Babble any time........I just don't want to.
or night.
g'night ras
will do so now, bsfog, onecare did not find problems
{{sigh}} I'm tile afflicted. I had a friggin dream wake me up the first night I've slept in a couple. Just to get the last word I was missing. That's Silly.
no known antidote for babble abulia
lol, yeah, jvscript is enabled, we already knew that, bsfog, :)
sounds normal to me, woof. What is the problem?
I know, BR. I appreciate you warning me early, even. It didn't stop {{shudder}} the dream.
Nothing that won't be solved once I've got work to distract me again lol
I'm flighty as hell, for the most part... until you give me a Project. Then I'm like a rabid dog. It's wierd, but I've gotten used to it.
Right now I just happen to be gnawing on tiles. =)
well, I give up again. I will finish the grid and then go to my kids. It is an idiotic problem and it is BUGGING me! You all: thanks a lot for your attempts to help me find the solution. If you happen to get a brainwave over this, pleasssssse let me know!
Good luck, sprite. And I'm sure we will.
beforeyou go can ypu view my page again and click link
I really hope so, it is so SILLY! :)
on my way, bsfog!
anyone have a clue for HE6?
I get google from that link
Angel: he + form of to be + greeting.
Odd! thats what i get too but then why cant it work here
found the he6.
if I only knew, bsfog :) it is really weird.
good Angel
i have three QUs - how many are there?
one more, ace
sprite - how many letters, and i'd like a clue
4 Qs in the grid
All ordinary words, Ace.
one of them is a 7. They go 5-7-4-5
Have you got an ending on the QU5?
morning all..., we have a dinky grid today!!
ah - got it
sprite, go here: http://www.playbabble.com/profile_mini .php?id=2889\
finished, pantpant. Fireworks for me :)
WD Sprite!
nice job, sprite
Congrats Sprite!
that works fine, BabbleRabble!
hi pink, liz :)
so... if I could get all the profile links, lol...
so you are being blocked from getting profile links
yay sprite!
exactly, BabbleRabble. Does that help? I'd love to get access directly again...
my thought, is since the problem is extra-babble, to uninstall I
Sprite, I think you will like Firefox. I have used it for several years, and I will never go back to IE.
BabbleExpert does not work under FF, Angel.
Sprite, have you come to this web page in IE, without expert, since you reinstalled?
BabbleRabble... to uninstall IE? Or Babble?
ie 7 and see if the problem continues
yes woof, am trying both, the whole time.
ok, will give it a try!
I know, Sprite. I have IE installed; I just don't use it as my default browser.
Cause with the expert I got I've never been able to load the profiles. But I can in my broswer. I was just wondering if it was this version of expert...
i can load profiles in expert, using IE6
if not, install ie 7 again to see if it there was an ie 7 installation problem
does anyone besides me use SeaMonkey?
I'm using version 12 of expert.
profiles won't load for me in the Expert, either, but I don't mind that.
I have. But I dont normally, why angel?
Angel are you using v12, too?
It says at the top of the page.
so do I, woof... is anybody else using V12 and still getting access to the profiles?
ace, I do not even know what it is!
Anybody else???
top of page, guys... Babble Expert from lickety..etc... : Beta V12
SeaMonkey is a browser like IE and Firefix, sprite
sprite - SeaMonkey is a Mozilla browser/email combo - sort of does what Netscape used to do
ah, thanks :) Didn't know that.
opera is another browser that some like
i love SeaMonkey, but for some reason it's not as popular as Firefox/Thunderbird
I'll ask around tonight sprite. But you said that you had other pages that won't work, either?
I would like to try V11. Could someone send me the email with the link? Please? My addy is in my profile, just leave out the spaces.
woof, I seem to have resolved the other problems. Links will open now, when I use Control with them.. so that would be the popup blocker.
Ok. Thought I'd just double check that, in case.
Anyone please, for version 11? Because if it is only in this new version of B12, Lickety will have it solved in no time once he is back.
Like I said, I can ask around, tonight at the flip. I know quite a few people who use expert then. And see if maybe it's expert.
don't use lickety, sorry, sprite
sprite, i can send it when i get home.
I only have the v12 link.
oops, i only have 12, my bad.
Morning al. 've never received a V12 from lickety, only V11. Was it something I said? LOL.
Morning al. 've never received a V12 from lickety, only V11. Was it something I said? LOL.
Ah-Ha! Seain's a paladin in his "real life" =)
oh, frances, you can send sprite 11, then? good morning :)
Sprite I'll swap you V11 for V12.
Could you do us a favor, please Frances, and email sprite a copy of your babble expert?
Frances: no it is very very new, he is still working on it. Please, can you send me an email with the V11 link?
You may not want to, Frances, that's the problem lol
Frances: fine with me :D But I think you better wait!
Oh and good morning Frances. Sorry to pounce so early =)
Frances, my addy is in my profiles, just leave out all the spaces. Thanks in advance :D
i've got 60 words now, but i'm falling asleep at the keyboard...
in that case, ace, you might reconsidering your nick... :P
nite/morning all...
ace, sleep ye then, and pick up the last words later
*reconsider
the grid is making an impression, ace?
g'night, ace
Nite again then ace.
night ace
sprite - link sent
Thank you frances. Very much.
Frances thanks, you are the best
The reason we were saying you might not want it is that we're trying to figure out if it has a bug, or not..
You're welcome sprite.
As a mater of interest, what does V12 do that V11 doesn't?
v12 works for me with IE6. it may have an issue with IE7.
*matter. Sticky keys
v12 works fine for me with ie6 as well
That's a good question, Frances. I dont really know. I Do know that lickety, when last asked, said "very little"
Well, now I gotta go check to see what version of IE I have. brb
lickety indicated that v12 was a clean-up of 11 w/out much by way of added functionality.
ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?
http://www.fox.com/areyousmarter/featu res/
well, one great thing is: you can make the Add box a thin box or not with a single click at the top of the page. I love that.
ok, it does not work, alas.
BabbleRabble: we have a telly program here about that. Kids win.
I get quite flummoxed playing it
And I'm running IE6...
I am running IE7. I am gonna follow BabbleRabble's advice and reinstall IE. But not now, time for the kiddies. *hugs* to all and thanks for your help!
Kids have been shown in studies to react more adaptably at stressful situations. Perhaps that could affect how well they play games like that.
ciao, sprite, have a great day
Cya, sprite. have a good day
have a great day, sprite ...say hi to caya and tim
Hmm. One more grant idea I'll never use.
tim is standing right next to me, BabbleRabble. He says thanks and many greetings in return!
Waves at Tim }}}}{{{{
great
Bye sprite and thank you. Enjoy your day.
bye sprite
i waving back
{{grin}}
But you can't take Rurus Monkey!
you ate it already?
Just the Drummie.
ok, Tim and I are off now, for real... thanks for everything, good people!
But it stopped biting me =D

Buy One Get One Free lol
I'll also add I'm pretty tired.
Ok. Really tired. Idiotically, so. ty lil and frances.

Yes, lil. She's spunky. Have you refreshed your profile page?
yes i have, but will do again
How about he6.24?

Good to see you back this morning Tanja.
Good morning or from my prspective good evening
I tend to find longer words and miss their shorter roots.
I wish I had that problem, sort of lol
me too - I struggle to find the shorter words quite often
hello all
Sorry tanja. I didn't realize. Wb bf
That it was evening where you are, that is.
this is so cool! I can make our mortgage payments online.
That is cool. As long as it's safe.
lol thats cool
must see about an icon and flag - only been doing this about three weeks
it's a secure site.
I'm just so used to it, and it's early enuf, i didnt even think to ask =P
Then that's very cool angel =)
Tanja, you need to go Pro to get the flag and icon.
I have gone pro went a couple of weeks ago
after my first firewords lol
If you want to add that the flag, it's under your account. There's a little box to check that says "show profile" =)
Well, welcome to Babble-Anon, Tanja. Pull up a chair.
funny thing is...I called to inquire about the easiet way to make the mortgage payments. The company charges a fee to make payments by phone or with the help of a customer service agent...but not if I make payments online.
That's kind of backwards.
thanx

That is what I feared, BR. So where will I get challenged today, besides housecleaning?
How cold is it in ND?

Life is good, Enomis.
good to hear scrabbler, life is good here too, even without the list...LOL
Yesterday was tough, even with BJ's list. Those HE words made me nuts.
I am spoiled... will go have a look at brandy jack's list in a moment but... it is not the same!
I did not finish yesterday, I gave up with the he too
Scrabbler's alchemy... words to nuts
sometimes you have to choose between your pride and your sanity...
how is it this morning?
And because I am nuts I play word games.
not nuts scraqbbler, perseverant...
should get a patent for making nuts out of words
And I have OCD.
what is ocd?
no known antidote for babble abulia
obsessive compulsive disorder
Sometimes the words ARE nuts.
I looked up abulia the other day when you mentioned it, but now I forget what it means.
only with babble?
found 35 words without the list... pathetic...
a loss of will power
Well, I have obsessive-compulsive personality, not the disorder. OCP is a virtual requirement to become and be a good MD.
BR, how was your Xmas?

jbv, laughing sounds
he4/6 - plural attempt to reproduce laughter in speech? Or he plus male possessive minus the vowel.
And good morning/afternoon to all.
he4/6 laughs
Hi Haz!
good grief look at all those H's
good day Haz
ok, ty haz and nono
Okay, I'm all bundled up and I can't get out the door. EQ? Help, please, before I sweat to death
You're welcome, JBV! Waves to flosey and Annie....
how many words today?
I need a clue for he6 please?
i think its 115
*waves back and throws chocolates and kisses*
all together now....push gramma out the door...lol
eq8/55 - four letters relating to a horse, then rearrange what you sit on.
117 words today
eq7/40 - e plus the qu5 made into a plural
he --vowel -- i love su*** (raw fish)
ahhh I was just trying to cut 2 off...
TY DS
Wow, I returned just in time to get a clue for eq8, a word I would have never tried.
no problem
he6 - first three letters of the greeting associated with Hitler, finish off with the first three letters of today's lavatory word.
thanks annie was just trying to monkey that one without success
How do you find these words, Hazel?
I use morewords, Scrabbler. I cannot lie and say that I know them all!
Haz, I just love that picture of Spangle. Every time I log in and see you online I have to check out the bigger picture....so cute.
oops, seems my grid is frozen, not accepting or rejecting
Alright, time for breakfast and the newspaper. BBL
don't destroy my mental pic of you Haz -- you are brilliant
haz, I have been marvelling at your genius since started playing this game
trying to finish the e's - need et 4 - I only have one that looks like an adjective ending
Yes, I was really pleased to get a photo of Spangle smiling - she looks so much more cheerful then.
ty I got the 7 from the clue but the * isn't doing it for me.
* = 8
and Hazel's clues are awesome too!!!!
I am no genius - I just make use of all resources available!
gramma, thought you'd gone for a walk
That's it. She's smiling.
I can't!
my daughter painted a beautiful picture of our dog and gave it to me for Christmas
gramma is stuck in the door
need a wider door?
and that makes you genius!
I'm stuck in Babbleonia.
is it the fridge door?
when I told her that Misha had had a mini stroke she came over that weekend, took several pics and when home and got to work - she knew how upset we both were
No, bb, I just don't advertise when I get stuck on stupid little words. It's all illusion and trickery.
haz, don't shatter the illusion
Happy Sunday, All... (and monday if it is monday for any of you)
Flosey, it'll be lovely to have that picture to look at now and in the future.
I'm whimpering. I didn't know you could all see me.
hi pam!
morning all (and Pam, you didn't tell me about this snow storm!!!!)
You have to pay to disengage the web cam, gramma. And besides, Anniebrook is a mistress of disguise.
sure will Haz, we've had the dog as long as we've lived here, just can't imagine this place without her
I know, flosey, and don't even start imagining. Just enjoy each day.
help, please, trying to finish the e's - need et 4 - I only have one that looks like an adjective ending
hi dorens
Dorens--it was rain until yesterday!!! Sorry!!!!
for sure Haz, thanks
How long are you "here," dorens?
pluralize a lisp, jbv
I wanted a larger grid--so maybe I will just chat for a few then start my errands...
going home on new year's day (if I can :) )
ok, thanks, dorens
8-), dorens...
luckily I have a snow brush in my trunk (at home I'm garaged, haven't needed to use it in years)
weather man (have tv on right now) is saying this storm is sure to break the record for snowfall in Masd for the month of decemnber.
And is he saying it in a cheerful manner?
oh absolutely, haz!
Does he think that will fool you all into thinking it's a good thing?
sounds like it.... they really do love their records, don't they?
But I suppose it keeps them happy and it's harmless.
yes, but nor particularly useful
I don't know. Who knows when it might come up in conversation or a trivial pursuit question?
ok I have 16 left and am going blind trying to finish the s's... can I clue for a while?
And I can proudly say that I was here! still haven't found out if it's going to be snow where I live as well, and if it will be a horrendous ride home on Tuesday.
looking for ad 5 - have tried every possible combination...
french good bye
good bye in french
litterally to god
Say farewell in French, JBV.
duh! didn't have my french in gear this a.m. - ty!
That's the downside of living through weather records, Dorens. It's not always pleasant to try to lead normal life.
I guess that was every possible combination in English
you set a few this past summer, haz?
missing two 8s.....have eq8 and re8
Your French can be brought to play on si5/12 - part of mister.
Dorens, we don't really like to talk about last summer. It was SUCH a washout.
thanks, didn't have that one either
bloody "re" words..........
movieman there are two re8 words.
understood
Correction there are three re8 words.
3 re8 words

hello all
Well, hello FMitch. Spring cleaning fever hit you early? Has Mikey been a good influence at last?
Afternoon Haz and the glittery one :)
Hello bf.
Ya ya ya *grin*
I knew he'd win you over eventually.
IT was one of those I'll just do that, that then leads to a full onslaught. GO wash your mouth out!

Oh I know. I once started onto the linen cupboard and two days later..... well one day later.
Hi mm - seen I am Legend yet?

It looks really good mm, I look forward to your review. Hello flosey
I seen it on fri#
hi FM
off to get icon ready for next grid
Good? bfsog
That's what I call being prepared, flosey.
yeah well good i wouldrecommend everyone watches it.
Haz, I too watched the Grumpy Old... the other night, guffawed on quite a few occasions.
LOL how appropriate the first word I find is d4/5, lots of people will be starting one of these once the festivities are over.
It was so good. I remember watching the Millennium Dome fiasco while suffering with the flu and feeling glad that other people were having an even worse time than I was.
Some have already started their di4/5, of course.
... and some of us have just demolished large helping of crumble with thick cream and can't move right now.
missing a 7.....have eq7, ho7, id7, qu7 and re7
Well, you obviously don't have my gall bladder.....
any clues for the re8/55?
there are 2 re7's
re8/55 - present tense version of re8/60
I can't think of anything to say to that Haz.
ty, dont know how i missed that one!
Is it a genuine conversation stopper? I just meant that if I ate thick cream, I'd suffer later.
the other re 7 is re + si 5/12 - placed again
Happy new year all. Any help with the hi5/14?
ty jbv
need mi 6/24 - looked in all directions - need a clue, please
I know, it's just I've gone all soporific and trying to find words. Full multi tasing capability will return shortly.
There is no hi5/14.
mi6 - when a tennis player doesn't strike the ball well.
you are absolutely right. I meant the hi/12
ok, ty, haz
hi5/12 - present tense form of hi4/5 - to rent or lease
Should we whisper, FMitch to allow you to doze?
On no! Noise is good. Plese prod me if you hear snoring.
haz thanks. I can't believe I missed that little plural. DUH.
okay 20 to go so will bbl after the horse. cheers!
No problem, fit.
If I hear snoring, I'll probably reach for my ear-plugs. I'm conditioned to it.
How is hubby, has he been on call?
He's fine, off today, working tomorrow, off on New Year's Day. We worked Christmas Day this year so that was interesting.
Did he have to go out on Christmas day or was it just phone calls?
last ri please? ri5,12
He had to go out - a couple of calvings and there was a poorly bitch to be seen. But dinner wasn't interrupted, so that was a blessing. I hold my turkey for no-one.
Thats not too bad then. Holding the turkey can get a bit greasy I find.
ri5/12 - ri plus the start of actress Miss McClaine.
Greasy and hot. Not to be recommended.
Hello everyone. re 8, 50
Hello everyone. re 8, 50
re8/50 - past tense of re6/21 - what the surgeon does to join up something surgically. (incorporate a religious division)
I couldn't get that one earlier this morning..not sure why I am drawing a blank.
The religious division is s4/5
need 4 more all t's - can I have a clue for the last th 4/5
Haz. Thanks for good clues - as ever.
so easy after one gets help. And I had the se4...TY
th4/5 - on its way to going not around, not under but right into the middle of something.
You're welcome, kath.
thanks, haz, that's 4/6 - still need 4/5
It's just the same, save for the vowel, JBV
any clues for the first si5/12?
On its way to being refers to it being an American spelling of the British, longer version.
si5/12 - attached to mon, addresses a French mister.
ok, got it! thanks, haz
You're welcome - have to take a break, daughter needing computer -back shortly.

Hello to Scrabbler Mom from the UK
Harp, I LOVE your choice for the icon theme...
She called me 4 times yesterday! She always starts by reviewing the death notices in the paper.
Urgh My Gran used to love to do that.
My mother gets lost in the details of life and misses the big picture.
Too bad you didn't know she was calling--you could have read them on-line and told her about them....
liz take the th4/6 and change end to another vowel
I always start with that too. I live in the same small town I grew up in....
UGH, scrabs... 4 times?
brb
Plus it's always good to make sure I'm still alive!
LOL, harp
My mother always says, "Why do you think she/he died at such a young age?" She believes that bad stuff shouldn't happen.
Had a good Christmas pam?

eq 8 comes before the eq 7
No, eq8 - use the first four letters of the horse-related one (if cow is bovine, horse is eq***?) then rearrange something you sit on, or plural English breakfast drink.
though the first four letters are the same
anyone want clues?
i'm good for now, thanks nan
eq 8 sounds like it should be a spanish horse!

Got it, finally!...thanks for the clues
lol harp
thanks Haz for the eq 8 and hello everyone
Hello Mom - glad the clue helped.
it sure did :)
hi mom
Hi Angelina
Rasdan, the last four letters are an anagram of the word for chair
The next four in the eq8, are the same as a four letter s word that appears in the grid. Work with the letters that appear in (different words) - to satisfy, plural beverages, a place to sit down. The word ends in a vowel.
on my way --- back at the flip :)
{{Nan}} bye bye
See you again, cybernan.
Hello everyone...I'm back to try to finish up. how are you all?

ta for that matty
ut is latin plural of womb
Gotya - thanks!
bye red, joanne, matty, everyone!
female part where babies live prenatal
*poof*
Jacula, if you are out there, I am enjoying the dusting off of the wits without lickety. Reminds me of the early days and I am surviving!
How about my missing C - I have three that are related to each other, meaning to give a reference, then to have given a reference in the past, and giving one now...what am I missing?
me 5/14 please- the first one?
me + if you go out in the cold you can get s***
the other "c" is to change the first vowel
sorry, me + if you go out in the cold you can get ***k
me, plsu was editors use to indicate a mistake is done intentionally or authors original...in a quote.
Thank you, I thought I tried that
matty, did you plural your c?
oh the 4th is not related....think of pavement without the r.
Yep - I have ci4/5, ci5/14 and ci5/12 - all related
It sounds like she did, she needs the ce4
think of pavement without the R....
Got it - thanks :)
and put a cuppa on the end less the final vowel
(But how is that like pavement...? Is it a strange word for sidewalk?)
Can I also have RE8/55 please?

That re 8/55 is hurting me too
(Hi everyone)
hey joan
look out....one of my faves made the grid
I am looking for my last re...but not the one matty needs
if you have the re 7/40 above it; make it plural
the re8.55 is a continuance of the ones above. When a love goes un "returned"
Ah. That could be my sticking point ;)
okay red, which one
Trying to figure it out.
Thankee kindly
have all the love words
have the time when you redo the table
what are the stats for your fav word nut?
have the surgical ones
do you have the big ones?
I have 3 8's
do you have the one where you change the location?
2 7's
yes
so do you have the one that sounds like when you hurry about (but you have changed the vowel? it is four letters)
Is it the re6,21 that you are missing
I need a 6. I have 6, 18 6, 21 and 6, 21...
sh 4/5 ktc
to warm up?
re + warm
yes and I have the warm one
gotcha...I always like typing naughty words (and I didn't have it yet so, thanks!)
re + do, ra ** + the giant **quoia grows in California
do you have the one where you change the wording? except instead of a "v" you use another consonant?
I think I may be missing that one?
what are the stats on your 4:44 word bb? (I'm not sure what word you're referring to and if I have it or not)
bubba, I got it TY all...what a chore.
re6.21

hi krista
feather - you old softy :)

If not a Jones, not to worry, usually heals, fast and fine

hi lady
I'm sorry I don't get the me clues :-(
I think so Krista! :) He's been like that since day 1
bye bubba
i read this interesting article the other day, debating pros & cons of kids growing up using computers - one person was talking about the 'loose parts theory' of child development, where kids need to manipulate items in 3 dimensional space for proper/better cognitive growth
bye bub
lovely $15 dollar baby einstein (sp?) toy, boring. lovely $1,000 laptop, interesting! weird kid.
byeee bubb ty for clues
Ok my last one please. SI 5/12 the first one?
he6 = he + "I am, you are, he **" + informal hello
Hi everybody need a clue for si5/12 please
daniel got a workbench from grandpa for christmas. he's getting a lot of manipulating out of that!
think of french for mister, rosalind... mon*****
they booed the einstein toys too - whatever they are
however, i do agree helen. if the only thing they're playing with is the computer, they won't get the hand to brain perceptual experience they need
It all needs to be in balance, I think, Helen. Too much of any of it can be bad.
this one is just a big elaborate rattle with some music. he likes to chew on it.
ty lady
my neice loved the baby einstein, it was the adults it drove mad, couldn't help thinking there was a little brainwashing in it.
always looking at wrong beginnings
one person postulated that's accounting for the great increase in add diagnoses
Alex had a video!!
Yeah thanks! Fireworks!
welcome, joanne
I absolutely believe that Helen...most of Zach's toys are very, very simple Tons of studies have shown that toys that have a lot of visual change-too much of that at a early age directly affects attention span
thanks LadyNatts got it at last now finished and fireworks
congrats pmo260
woohoo rosa!
Congrats rosalind
Are there 117 words? If so, I am done!
there are, boo
although my mom got him this very obnoxoius singing Christmas toy and he loves that...I just won't be buying him any myself! :)
they were saying that this generation of kids is growing up wired in the brain completely differently from all previous generations due to computer learning & games & huge amount of time devoted to the screen
boo you are done congrats!
congrats rosa
yay to the finishers!
congrats to all!
there are boo, congrats you have fireworks :-)
hooray finishers!
wtg boo
clue for Sh4 pls. I have the butter, the shelter, and the potty word
I believe that totally, Helen. Not to say that my kids don't watch too much TV, though. Guilty.

thank you and goodnight
Back from getting pizza out of the oven Yahoo for boo!!
good night, rosalind
Good evening, everyone! Any clues for re8,55? Thank you!
yes kris - that's what they were saying, too rapid change - also the same thing goes for sesame street - 10 seconds of one thing, then off to another
Red -- the piece of wood you shove under the uneven table leg
daniel does NOT like sesame street! it's funny
They are good, Feather (Melissa and Doug). I packed away Eric's Bob the Builder toys last night. First THomas, now Bob. Sigh.
will do feather...I'll google that in a minute
id6 pleasse
heck - we thought we watched alot of tv, but in reality we didn't, simply cause there wasn't all that much on, compared to now
I love Melissa & DOug toys.
Brookie, it is plural of the unanswered love words that surround it.
thank you!!! My mom helped me with that last one...
brookie, re8/55 is the same as re8/60 with a different consonant to end it
I'm visiting with Parents for the holidays.
Fireworls... finally
aww krista! daniel got the imaginarium roundhouse for his thomas set from his aunt and uncle this christmas, so we've got a little more mileage out of thomas again
I think my generation loved Sesame St so much because there wasn't much else!
joanne, take out fish, what you think up
Yeah red!!
And yahoo for redturtlehead!
sesame street came on the air when i was 10 - too old for that then & i never got into it, don't have kids, so lots of it is foreign to me
wtg congrats red!!!
thanks lady!
TY....
id6 builds on id4.... add some green **a
I loved sesame street.
yw
Congrats red :-)
but it was a bit different then compared to now.
same here for romper room & treetop house, those are the only kids shows i really remember
Apparently, they've released the very first Sesame Streets from 1969 (I was 2) on DVD - and declared it not suitable for toddlers!

Helen, you are the only other person I know who had a crush on Mr. Green Jeans, too. Lol! I need to google a pic of him..totally forget what he looked like

Anyone remember Wonderama?
Argh, I am such a moron to miss the other tense of ci4 for another ci5.
heya mousy

Hi Mousey
I remember HR... vaguely
dang didn't know sh4 was actually gonna be there so didn;t try it lol ttyy
I grew up on Long Island - I always wanted to be on Wonderama. Never happened, though.
My sister loved Banana Splits and H.R. Puffinstuff. They were so psychadelic. Oh, and the Monkees.
Matty--you grew up on LI? How did you get to the UK? (I know, an airplane.)
Hey, hey we're The Monkees. Mickey, Peter, Davy, and ???
hubby is a big HR fan scrabbler
I married an Englishman. Someone had to ;) - October 1988 - nearly 20 years ago.
Mike
With Bob McAllister?? So did that originate from LI?? Huh, always thought that was a local program. I can still sing the theme song (sad).
kris - i just googled him, lol, i forgot what he looked like too - i guess it must have been his charming personality that attracted us

oh, he's not THAT bad, lol
th6-same first 4 letters as the greek letter th5 + first 2 letters of frozen rain
The fourth Monkee was Michael Nesmith (first to leave the group also). His mum invented white out so he didn't need the work. He was also the only one who could truly play his instrument in the beginning. He turned his attention to music videos at the dawn of the music video age.
ty kris

When the Monkees came to Phoenix back in the day, my older sister got to have dinner with them and ride in the Monkee-mobile.
*wicked grin* you were probably just to old when the reruns started, bb!
I really liked Peter in the Monkees. He was quiet.
He was the biggest head of them all no less. He became a teacher after fame faded
Could I have a clue for the ri 5/12 please

Yep. They were talking during the bengals game about all the teams that could beat them in the post-season. I personally think only Indy would have a chance this year
I got the vaccine several years ago..forgot I had it, actually, but very glad now. Yes, Kristin, it was a quiet Christmas. But I have to say it was nice to have a quiet holiday.

Lickety does that so we will appreciate him. ;)
then I think I need help with the 7 Brookie, please?
the 7 is e + qu5 + plural
not me mm...krista has the sickies (we get on at the same time just to confuse people)
Okay I'm missing on r word from the top r. I have two RO, three RU, and an RY. Help?
THanks Brookie!!!!
*raises hand as one of the confused*
True, Krista..I mean Kristin...thanks, Music. They're all getting better though.
{{{kristinc}}} keep it that way! how's the kiddo enjoying the holiday?
Krista confuses me because that is my real life name:-) Only I use CH
the eq8 is eq + 2 vowels + *** the table (get ready for dinner) + vowel
there are 4 ru's
are they all 4s Katie?
Krista, what part of MD are you from? I'm in the Northeastern corner, just a 1 minute walk from DE.
Oh that's right, Music! Someone told me that recently. I'll start using your real name and make it even more confusing.
no the last one is 5/12
alrighty...that's me...all finished
si 4 not the past tense one
pleasseee
down to lucky #13...
I'm in Hagerstown. So, are you near Elkton or such?
si5 sorry
Plural of the one above it
LOL in the arts center where I work there were 2 Kristas and one Christa at one time. It's a small center too!
Yes, Elkton. Yahoo. Detect sarcasm.
I have a friend named kristin who is married to a husband w/ the same name and spelling as mine (and we have kiddos 2 days apart)...we love to confuse people!
Congrats, Kristin! Yay for naps.
thanks katie
rofl... that is a great gag!
Wow, Music, that's a lot of Krista/Christas. I was the only one I knew growing up, believe it or not.
Me too!
My husband's cousin, Joe, is married to Kristabell. I'm Christa and her best friend's husband is Chris. Talk about confusing!
Gotta go everyone. Also, nice making the acquaintance of a fellow Marylander! Happy babbling and hope to see you all tomorrow! (poof)
bye brookie
I have a really unusual name (obviously not katie) and everyone I meet think that they are the first to tell the jokes, I have the fake laugh off pat now, on the bright side i've never met anyone with my name anywhere!
oh! joanne -- French "mister" monsi***
Oh, I hit the Elk on the head, huh? Pretty boring there, I take it? I'm not exactly in the Hub of the Universe here, but we do have Prime Outlets.
later brookie, thanks for the help
I am back; guinea pigs happy with clean cage and belly full. I guess I can clue while I watch the rest of the skins/dallas game
Kristen and Music..whoa...I bet you have some good stories to tell! I thought we were bad with the four Patricks, but that's nothing.
hello phand!
Katie, you have us curious now.
down to TEN!
The worst was when the pharmacy mixed up prescriptions. Oh yeah and we both have 2nd graders and scheduling conferences can be fun through the automated phone system
go Stidmama
Yes Katie - do tell.
Hi Ph! Come clean my guinea pig's cage, please. I'll pay you.
My Tom is a Jr. His brother-in-law is a Tom. He had two dear friends in college who were Toms also...
clue for the u please
no thank you; it is a bit of a hike; you would have to pay through the nose
helen -- plural baby growing place
plural female repro organ
yes...my husband is a pastor and we have a religious lat name (take your guess...it is not very original). Everyone we meet thinks they are the first ones to make some sort of reference as to the oddness of that his career choice. They just beam w/ creativity (We usually just smile and try not to burst their bubble)
yeah for clean pigs!
thanks !

Please please please no Nightrider jokes, I was 14 when it came out, my life became a misery!!
That's funny, Kristin! As if no one ever thought of that before. You must be a patient person (a saint, dare I say?)

Yes, please.
hi matty :-)
re + mi 4/5
no re 6/21 = re + mi 4/5
si + first 3 letters of the coin
the second of those, scrabbler
first si5 = last 5 letters of French Mister
Thanks Stid - and howdy! Back to the UK tomorrow. We're off to the airport at 4.45. AM.
french for mr
he 5/18 + sometimes vowel to above word
Ty, Stid and PH
Matty, are you in LI now?
Nope - northern suburbs of Philly
scrabbler -- is your nephew doing okay with his broken foot? It would be hard to be his age and not allowed to even stand on it.
My parents moved there over 10 years ago
Sorry popped out for a ciggie. Hi diem. Scrabbler I think this is why I always get asked if it is going to be my real name :-)
dang was never good at french lol
Guess what, Stid? My mother just called me and told me that Jon TOOK HIS BRAND NEW CAST OFF with his friend last night. I am fuming, to say the least, as I called an orthopdeist friend Friday night who met Lisa and Jon in the office yest AM. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH, teenage boys!!
got it
you finished katie
done done done
joanne: si + the first three letters of the new coin in EURope...
My married name is going to be McGrath. i'm going to sound like a dodgy irish bookie
YAY joanne!!!!!!
Yahooo Joanne!
No got 22 left Diem. have now turned to the vodka!!
tyty
Congrats Joanne
oh NO Scrabbler! BAD Jon! *stern mama look* I'll be right there with the official STIDPADDLE! you hold 'im down and I'll do the rest...
He took his cast off!!!!!!!! Oh my!!
ty katie and thanks for all help
rofl Katie... it's a perfect pen name though. Mysteries or romance novels? Or romantic mysteries?
I am so disappointed, Stid. And I was going to write my orthopd friend a thank you note later....now what? An apology note?
i must go lay down now. congrats to all and have a great nite!!
Yes, let's get the Stidpaddle out and whoop him!
how did he get it off?
later joanne! see you again soon.
I imagine that various tools were used.
I can't believe he did it. Honestly the stupidity of youth ;-)
Scrabbler, I would write a thank you to your friend. I am sure Jon is not the first STOOPID kid to do something like that. He'll understand
grounded, grounded, grounded
And I would tell Jon to not complain when he is 25 and limping for the rest of his life!
I can thank Dave for his courtesy appt with Jon and not mention the home cast removal.
I can imagine various tools being used on Jon by his mother...
evening all
right stid - only hurting himself, but teens are bullet-proof, dontcha know?
That won't happen, HK, my spineless sister has a child-run home.
Lol stid & helen.
hi mom
hello Mom -- would you like to help hold Scrabbler's nephew down, or actively take part in his spanking?
{{Helen}} hello
seriously, he's not going to get grounded - he should get grounded & write his mom (or whoever paid for his medicals) a paper on aging
*grumpy mama face* GRRRRR *folds arms and sits down before she breaks something other than Jon's foot*
Let's go, Mom and all mothers--Jon needs a spanking with the Official Milton-Bradley StidPaddle!
{{Stid}} hello, I will help scold or hold either one
let's get him!
*straps on SUPER*MAMA suit with matching cape and takes off*
hey i'm not a mother and i would ground him!!
hbe would be in for a rude awakening in this house
however it does make having kittens seem a real pleasure :-)
he*
true katie -- after this, kittens must seem a reasonable alternative! (they do to me, and I am not a cat person!)
Diem - are you done?
I agree with all of you, but my sister declines to be tough or have rules.
OK, last re6 please?
my brother's ex is the same way, Scrabbler. She wants to be their friend. Never any discipline.
Then your sister will have to take the consequences -- and so will her children. That is a very difficult non-lesson to teach.
last RE 6 is to put on a place again: re + s4
Stid remind me of that when I am on here complaining about their kills being brought in ;-)
re locate
and past tense for the 7...
*grin* I'll try katie!
ooh. phand. excellent clue!
Yes, a chum/pal/buddy...the real-life consequences emerged at about 13-14 for all 3 boys, sadly.
12 left4s 5 s &1 6

it is definitely the tail wagging the dog in there house and sounds like in your sister's house as well, Scrabbler
HE 6 anyone? I've been going back to the archives, and am still stuck
10 to go
I enjoy my children, and we have good times, but there is no question I am in charge... people thing I am too harsh with the little things -- but bigger things don't tend to happen. So...
You had a good day diem? Hubby2b still poorly so we have been in all day again (good job we stocked up on vodka!!) we are going to Worcester tomorrow for new years eve
their*
re 8/55
and eq 8
Never mind, got it :)
well monkeyed, matty!
thanks phan
Mom, Stid, et al, it is so sad to observe but I have no control or power and my suggestions have been ignored, despite troubles ocurring.
I agree, Stid, people always referred to our house as "the rock" from Andy Griffith but our kids ages 23 and 19 have never been in a bit of trouble
yw
did zip football/beer babble beer etc
yes, the hardest thing is to watch the kids unravel because they needed (and subconsciously wanted) limits and didn't get them.
Its more difficult when it is your help that is abused scrabbler but i'm sure your friends know that you have no control over things
what is "zip" football?
My favorite psychologist, John Rosemond, who has written many outstanding books, just published a book called, "Parenting by the Book."
brb
I agree Stid. and to be told they are loved
Kitt---it is my sister and her 3 teenage boys!
sorry did nothing
hey diem that sounds a good day. We watched football most of the day (the proper game!!) both rubbish matches, but the best thing on tv. We now have forensic files on......200 channels and so little to watch

Oh it's ok they have just shown him without his glasses, he doesn't look so similar now!
Thank you phandmd :-)
yw; unless anymore are need I will he 4/5 off now
{{Phandmd}} have a good evening :)
I like the "Dog Trainer's Guide" for parents... it really made sense and encouraged me to stick with the discipline when it was tough
later phand! thanks for the help
Thanks for the clues phandmd, have a good evening :-)

{Aknitter} hello
We have a thing called Sky + which means you can record things. Usually works well as I can tape what I like and watch it when I can. however we have both been ill for a week and haven't been out the house, that combined with the writers strike means we have run out of good tv
{{{{{scrabbler}}}}} with I could offer you more than just understanding.

r + sort of + 3rd vowel
wow!!!! that crazy k.w.

Also I have no ties with ANY of the 200 plus arsehats i went to school with (same year level)
I went back!!! However still don't have 3 grandchildren :-)
katie, Thank you
I've resisted the temptation to get in touch with people from my past, trying to remember there was a reason you lost touch!! Also not fair on Hubby2b, he didn't grow up here!

Actually, i can't play any instruments... took piano but have NO ear...
The other instument i adore is the hammer dulcimer
i grew up with a lot of Appalichie music - dulcimers galore :)
wow, glad i'm looking for tomorrow's icon already. newer thought it'd be that hard to find what i want.
It seems whilst playing I could not hear a mistake, so I had to watch my fingers. Seems I have mild nerve deafness. Too bad, I loved practicing...
what is tomorrow's theme, dc?
hi, everyone... can somebody clue the U word, please?
new year's eve, pam.
more than one of where mammalian babies grow, labecs

Thank you, DC!
well, my muscian (and certifiably crazy) mom would not allow that and my musician (and loving, but didn't live with us) paternal grandmother didn't think they should spend the money on a kid with no ear...
I found languages instead...
les idiomes sont joyeux :D
phantom: neuter

Has anyone else heard of a cat snoring?
mine does all of the time, herin...
yes - our previous maine coon snored
can anyone clue the he6
he slept on me and i had to wear earplugs
My cats snore all the time.
my Jasper snores all the time.
he + personal pronoun + su*** (raw fish), lil
he + me + be qu5 + me
that was just the non-wrapping daniel safe ones. i have the top 1/3 of the tree to do now, with all the breakable ones.
Ok not just me then. I have never heard a cat snore before. Ren what are Maine Coons like as pets/
maine coons are cuddly, and look like barrells on stilts :)
they are wonderful herin - peaceful, moody, friendly - BIG
My b.f wants one wondering how Princess Pandora would like it
and maine coons don't vocalize much, if at all, and the ones that do have a tiny, high-pitched mew.
they get along w/ other cats just fine - we've had siamese w/ our maine coons
Mine makes enough noise for two
mc's definitely have an attitude! at least my neighbor's mc does
sean is right - they just mew and it's usually when they want you to go to bed
We had a maine coon for years..gentlest cat I've ever seen
Hi Uni
My cat just rolled off her cushion (its on the floor) I laughed she death stared me
they are moody dawg and their feelings are hurt very easily - and you can tell when they are pouting

I only have 3 left... Can I get a clue for the ru5?
niters scrabs - sweet zzzzzzzzzzzzs
night scrabs. i want to too.... but how many have you left tyger/
dorens, that sounds like a great clue, except I'm just not getting it :(
he6?
ru5 is plural ru4
I have 4 left, dorens
ru 5 is the plural of the woman's name ru 4/5
ok then the easy one. re + qu5
ohhhh. thanks SO much!
duh - ty!
yw
he6 please?
I just found the re8 that built off the re7 you gave me, dorens
he6 is a Japanese word, MLF
there's anoather tyger
give me a minute and I'll try to clue it
the word sounds like the subject forms of the male & female pronouns
he + personal pronoun + I ate su*** last night at a japanese restaurant
yup, I know, dorens
he 6 = he + personal pronoun + ** (be silent - as in a library) + persoanl pronoun again
tyger the first or the second req?
oh, a great clue, dorens
tyger just change the last letter
what are you asking MLF? I'm only half-brained today
thx, dorens - not I've got only one left
and it is...............?
gotta figure out which one. it's an m with 5 letters. :P
re8 built off the second or third req/
me + the word to a dog to attack?
me + command for dog to attack?
I'm new at this game is there somewhere to get clues
lol dc
okay, it's the 2nd me5/14
plural the 4
two left!
this is where you get the clues donna. also check the help above this window, and babblers anonymouse (bottom left)
thx, DC
ty
yw, tyger :)
donna babblers annonymous links below
donanna, try brandyjack's clues at Angelsong's Babble page (link at bottom left of this page)
gives you how many letters and pts i think
ok folks, this is where I get off... good night, happy babbling and see you tomorrow. tyger, hooray for your fireworks
One is re 6.21 (I think) not the warming one or the chopping one
yes, babanon does that, in the General link.
and, except for the next 2 days (after today), Lickety's page (also linked at bottom)
re + se4/5
Lickety & family are on a well-deserved short vacation
but i dont pay and my trial period si over so...
so, pay.
hee! he put that he's camping 29 Dec- 1 Dec, so we may not see them til next year ;)
the first re6 is a word from the real estate business
that's 2nd re6, tiger, the 1st is to warm again.
the 4 letters after re are also a French word that I know from a French phrase dealing with theater/movies (**** en scene)
is that the one below the re8..the second re8 i mean?
oops, you're right, DC
re + se4/5, yes, mlf.
nope. the one I just clued is before all the re8s
i got that one ty dc so easy and i missed it lol
the word I **** is also here - it's the one before the man who hoards
I feel so much better than last night. But this is a reminder that - like all people with head injuries - the losses are progressive :sigh:
well thats all i kind find 74 words is what i got.. i may be here for flip bye
mlf, it has a past for an re8/50
tyger are you aliling?

hi, praise
old ones, Uni - 1966 & 69
Hm, I'm sorry...That's a bit of a longstanding illness
Is this one of your problems from before that have flaired up again Tyger HUG
but when I was in rehab following my hip replacement, I saw a young man (19 or 20) who had lost just about all his memory, including speech & writing, from an injury very little worse than my first one
hi uni
hi dc
didn't see you there
Hey Praise!
not exactly, herin. it's just that I sometimes notice that something else has gotten harder to do (mentally)
it shouldn't be aging - I'm in my mid-60s, and my grampa was sharp as a tack at 92
gramma was also sharp when she died at 73
I don't usually talk about it
I am blessed in many ways, including with friends
I dont remember hearing about this before Tyger...It sounds very difficlt to come to erms with, especially if problems snowball
and there are people with FAR worse problems than mine
well, Uni, sometimes it is. It really bugged me last nite
I hope more days of success and acceptance come your way Tyger
and I was pretty maudlin in here, I'm ashamed to say
thx, Uni
yeah tyger there is always someone out there that has it worse
Thanks tyger - that was the one I was missing
including a very dear friend of mine who is only 46!
Tyger sometimes our brain dictionarys forget the most simple words highly annoying
Aww, but we are here for listening to complaints and problems. perspective is importance, yes, but it is also theraputic to just feel bad
tyger, what are friends for, if not to listen when needed :)
you guys are great. hugs to all!
(((tyger))) hugs back at ya
biggirl, what was the word? did I type a grid word in here?

I'll hafta leave pretty soon, but if I can help with clues, speak up :)
TYger take it easy OK?
I don't do that much, herin :)
Well you should :D
should take it easy?
Yes indeed Tyger
hon, that's about all I do. I need exercise, but my treadmill needs repair
just remembered that I copied a political cartoon to use for a day or 2 here. I'll put it up before I leave.
Man its finally hit 100F. Its a bit hard in winter to get out Tyger. What about a Yoga DVD or something like that
can't do yoga. too many bum joints
how cold does it get where you live, tyger? Generally, i think MS is in the upper 40s/low 50s much of winter, no?
Oh dear TYger
Think i may need to finish this and go lie in a cold bath
think I am going to go for tonite
been a long day

Oh dear i had a booze pop and its gone to my head
These last seventeen words are, once again, attempting a coup so that they can come suffocate me.
what's a booze pop?
maybe a second one would counteract it, fern lady
This is the latest I've ever been to finish a grid.
Its a icy pole with booze in it
There is like 6 percent alcohol in it.
They are kinda not an the market as it 'promotes excessive drinking'. I have had one and i feel seedy as its the sugar in the product.

yw ping
Saddy, your icon shows two beautiful people
is the mi 6 related to another mi?
no ping
to punch wrongly, ping
it's a bad strike
Yes, lickety's is easier, for sure. But I find that on grids under 200 words BJ works well enough for me. Above that, and I just content myself with getting as many as I can...
I like Lickety's a lot better too, but beggers can't be choosers so I used Brandyjack's list. Still finished grid
no, ping, it's naughty, contains poop
the mi 6 is unrelated -- a bad shot in tennis or mi + poop
I am glad you were able to get to work today Saddy -- it's already Monday, right?
