love your icon, justa! the lorax is my favorite dr seuss book
Do you think the Lorax was a kind of nature spirit?
ummm, not a spirit at all! a real person 8-)
(as real as any dr seuss character, i mean)
My daughter and I took my niece to see Horton yesterday , it was so much fun , love seuss
129 left. going back to bed for a bit!
As long as were on the subject of nature thingies, I read something today where Minnesota is trying to ban merchant ships from dumping their ballast water in Lake Superior

Ornith, I'd like a cup of coffee, with room for a cat...
it's not a big coffee, it's a teeny cat!
ty orn i have no idea what they mean either lol
ty orn never heard it either
instruction to start using the bow again...
apparently it's some sort of white metal alloy
I got the French boat but it won't accept the plural
GN all - 100 left for morning
nn kje
gn kje that was quick
the French plural needs an "x"
I mean, my statistics day to day.
thanks erda I thought that might be the case
i am drinking coffee right now but neither of my cats are in the room with me right now
heh, mine was on my lap right up until the flip
I'm just so happy I got the word in the first place

I know of the Ragdolls. Oh cute Orinith
not yet ML
me either west i cant monkey it
he bred almost true on everything but the fluff - huge, soft, sweet, and a total klutz lol
sounds like KC
MLF, use the A in the next to bottom row
MLF its before 1am most people don't ask clues before an hour
Ornith isn't that a ragdoll trait to be a totally flop?
herin i wasnt asking for a clue
yup
but I mean he's bad at jumping, which is a ragdoll thing too
it's like having a purring dog who uses a litterbox, he comes on command (when he feels like it, lol) and gives tons of kisses
Ok Mlf sorry
Norrrrrrr Orinth too cute
yeah, he's so cute my vet snorgled him, lol

hi mrp
I generally have to refresh for my picture to change
Hey mrp and everyone!
i've refresehd several times and it's not going
but it is if you click on it
Well hubby wants to go to bed good night POOF
I find I have a harder time finding the word that go more right-to-left. I assume that is common. What do folks do to combat that difficulty?
he has pretty blue eyes but you can't see them in the picture
Words, that is.
bee, it gets easier with practice
Well done Bee.
Night MLF
Also bottom-to-top is more difficult.
although in this case, there just aren;t that many from that side
I has kitty too know
Thanks, Ornith!
HEYYY Lickety
HEYYY Lickety
Thanks Herin for the kudos.
Ok i have my kitty up now too
aw, kitties
Oh I look glamtastic with my new bandaging ...!
he's very pretty orn must groom himself all the time
PRESSSSIE
extremely sexy mrP!
Sexy Pressie. Lickety you are a lucky man
hi mrp -- new bandaging?
good evening/morning/afternoon BabbleBuds
hi mar
good eve mrp good eve just happy babbling
someone asked me what happened (after seeing the huge wad of bandaging) and I told them I had been shot in the chest... they believed me! So I went with it and said it was a drive-by... I am so naughty! yes jilli... it is appauling!
thanks west! yes he does, he keeps himself nice and clean
Hi Jilli
even smells good, hehe
been lurking for my 1st half hour...92 left just in time for the L list! :D
bandaging where? Around your arm? Holding your arm to your chest?
oh my chest... at the central line site
hiya kiwi
you got a lot done just
brb, need to take child for a massage
oh, I see! Oh dear!
this grid seems to be a mirror image of itself
orn do you ever read Get Fuzzy in the comics?
I'm not trying hard -- too tired. Tomorrow will be busy too so what's the use
MR PRES your naughty.
Hi Jill.
occasioally west
a lot of them are just
hi herin m'dear
today Bucky ( has to be the best cat ) has called in an exorcist because his litter box is possessed
lol
that's nuts, west -- lol!
I am giggling my butt of at the stupidity of A Current Affair. Ages ago there was this website www.planethiltron.com that photoshops various celebs and makes them large or just geeky. Now that ACA have jumped on it and said its 'appaling to battlers'. Please its a website for a giggle its not hurting anyone
used to read it years ago just started again it's too funny
I am up to 54 words, and fewer than half are 4-letter.
nice bee
yeah ta 7/8 done and dusted lol phew
Thanks Ornith.
this is a pretty hard one again
herin it's their job to make mountains out of molehills
anything special happening tomorrow jilli?
West seriously its so amusing. I can't watch it but hope to be able to see it online
oh, did you guys hear, they just put almost all of south park online? all but the latest few episodes
I saw today that there is going to be a free download of Photoshop on the web wonder if it will be any good?
really west? full photoshop or elements?
just a sec I'll look
just routine stuff, west -- doc appointment to renew prescriptions, recycling centre to take stuff to, library AGM to attend, yada yada yada
Orinth a lot of stuff i can't see :(
Is there any record after yesterday's puzzle is done of how I did?
said it's the basic version
free photoshop? Son gave me Elements for Xmas, no freebie.
That's cool, West. I woudl like to try Photoshop.
herin, let me see if i can find the name of a site that lets you pretend you're surfing from us
ooh, neat west!
you need a BA to learn it methinks :D
It's a start anyway
Oh thats net
bee not sure if you can check it ...if you join babble you can
I had the Album Starter Edition before -- bet that's what they're giving away
OH thats the words. Celebrity photos and the cruel jokes played on average suburbs (i think im missing something here) POINT being people gees. Some of the celebs need a good smacking upside the head
all I have is iPhoto and I need more editing features
Hi all
if I ever get around to editing that is
hi diem
hi diem
hi diem
Thank you Just.
here, try through this herin http://www.unblockall.net/
west, you can try either picasa or GIMP for better editing
Thanks Orinth. i was loitering at that sight
good eve dien happy babbling
westford, download picasa
then photofilter
you can view easily what you need in picasa, then edit in photofilter
will they work on macs mrp?
MR PRESSSSS (huuuuuuugs)
((hugs)) infern :)
ahah, the free photoshop isn';t photoshop at all, it;s a special stripped down web version about as powerful as picasa.... no layers
I found the 8
yeah!!!!!!!!!!
i believe so westford
Mr Pres Have you seen the ACA add for tonight?
te
ooh good
thanks mrp
yes infern... looking at the pics... silly stuff
photofilter is an excellent editing tool! It does just about everything
not much is really 'free' ornith but for those who don't have anything I guess it's a start
ACA have stooped to an all time low if they need to say ' its appaling and cruel on battlers' when its really just taking the piss out of celebs that generally need a slapping
This puzzle has 213 words total, but does it say anywhere how many points total?
1345
"battlers"?
hi all
not alot of points... all 1 point letters really
hi dee
Mr Pres is that Opanda PhotoFilter?
hiya dee happy babbling
bee, points don't matter to me -- just getting the words does.
bee you can open up lickety's babble clues...link below tiles...great help
grrrr hershey has gone and hidden her kittens again for the third time this week
hi dee hi
hey jili
it just says photofiltre
hi Dee
1345 points, Ruru?
Battlers Ornith people that are having a hard time living. Allso the add mentioned Frankston my old home town which deserves as much of a piss take as possible. Think of the most redneck/bogan subarber and thats frankston
Thanks Pres i spelt it wrong
2572 points bee
battlers are backwater rednecks who marry their sisters... better known as Tasmania
oh, rednecks
can ya remind me to leave at 5.30pm infern?
LOL MR Pres. Hey my parents live in Tasmania
you guys are bad lol
Thanks Mrp, how do you tell? Thanks for the tip, Jilli. I wa sjust curious, nice to have the data.
bee, open up lickety's clues
but with very few exceptions, celebs' problems are all of their own making
bee.....scroll down and see what I told you at 1;15
Good old Aussie Battler is usually a struggler that finds it hard to get by everyday. Bogan or Westie for you Mr Pres and yes i can
I'm sorry, thanks *Just* for the tip.
in the box below the grid is a list of babble friends, open up lickety's babble clues
yw
Hey at least these are stock photos not stalker paparatzi photos.
Sorry all, this Chat format is difficult for me to follow.
so more like working poor, then, herin. which celebs are SO not.
my favourite worst pics are when they the paparazzi lay on the concrete and take pics up the skirts of starlets with no undies... charming people!
Yes orinth. oh Bogan: http://www.bogan.com.au/ this site MAY be OFFENSVIE. funny but offensive
too fast bee?
charming starlets lol
Hello everyone. Welcome Bee, yes, you need to take a course in speed-reading to keep up sometimes
Mr Pres Brittany SPears famous sans undies photos are her own fault as you could have driven a bus between her legs when she stepped out of that car
hi lynxx... too right lol
hiya lynxxx
when my husband was in the navy they issued a pamphlet for the women visiting on the ships and they told us to 'always wear underpants' lol
good eve lynx happy babbling
eewwwww infern! that is one lady garden I never care to look at
hi kiwi :)
that was before slacks were allowed
westford, in school, we had undie inspections!
aha, bogan = white trash/trailer trash
hi lynxx
oh my goodness mrp
and yeah, any photo of britney, paris, or lindsey lohan showing lack of panties is their own fault - proof positive that money =/= class
let's be fair maybe they didn't have a chance to do laundry
lol West
as usual, my blank tiles all start with vowels. What is it with vowelly words?
playing babble most likely
and, if we were lacking the official undies, we got detention! an hour of solitary boredom with a very cute teacher... we all just stared at him for an hour and fantasized... like they didn't work out why we broke the rules! LOL
no clean laundry and that much money = wear your dirty pants down to the store, dammit
vowelly words are uncooperative
lol mrp. you had official undies? yikes
I had to find 45 words out of BOMBARDED today... all using the letter B.... it shit me! I can only find 32
we had official undies... only available at the department store David Jones... sad sad sad
did you use the ancient french instrument?
volcano alert
It's the bottom-up rather than the top-down format, Just. It's not so much fast as it is that each Comment takes up a lot of space. Also my monitor doesn't show the full screen.
Mr Pres 530 pm
Thanks for the welcoming, Lynn!
mrp - I'm on the way home to inspect your undies ,hehheheh see ya when I'm there - call me if you are out and about in about 50 mins
TY Jilli
yu can close the chat log bee
Lickety! I am embarassed!
ok lickety... will make sure I am wearing some then
I don't have any trouble following the Chat in Scrabulous, for comparison.
that's strange bee...the chat is top to bottom
LICKETY
maybe you have your screen resolution too low?
G rated chat please
geez, if someone tried to inspect panties these days they'd sue em for molesting kids/sexual harassment... and can't say I'd blame the suer!
gotta run - and no - I just wash them, don't inspect them.
Blank tiles, Jilli?
brb, need to pick up my son from massage
when my granddaughter was little she called them "unnies"
bee, she means ones that read 0/some number
I don't wnat to close it, do I, Mrp? Then I wouldn't see the chat!
ones she hasn't got yet
Thanks Ornith for the explanation.
I will quote my GrandMother. Girls today don't realise how short their dress are as they don't ahve seamed stockings these days you can see what they had for breakfast' That was my grandmother
I don't think you can see the tile stats if you've not paid?
what do seams have to do with the length of your dress?
just, bee s new enough to have the free stats trial
ohh sorry didn't know
Seamed Stockings you had to turn around to see how straight your seams were in the stockings.
I think Herins grandmother was refer to stockings - not pantihose
ah, i see
i was trying to figure out how vertical seams would show length
Stockings the kind with out panties. Garter belt style
Just, yes, I mean new Chat comes in at the top rather than added onto the bottom.
but i think a lot of girls know exactly how short their skirts are
yes that's the way it should be, bee...
they probably do and they probably don't realise that their buts are showing
Yes, Just, this is only my second game.
no herin, i think they know and are just skanky!
bee, the Tile Stats under the grid. One of my goals is to get at least one word for each of those letters before packing it in for the night. At this point I still have no words starting with two of the Os, one of the As, and the U
Gotta run. Love that word skanky
Yes, Just, I but it is easier fo rme to read when the new chat gets added to the bottom.
bye herin
bye herin
enjoy
bye herin
bfn herin
Bee - bet you are used to it in a week. We all had difficulties when the format of Babble changed a couple of years ago
this grid is looking tough
Oh, I see, Jilli. Thanks for the great explanation! I have 1/1 for the second O but none of the other two.
yeah, it is dee - i've pretty much given up and am hanging around chatting
though i think i shoulod go to sleep now
i think this is hard i guess Dart is finished
nn all
You'll need oa4.4 for the rowboat
Jilli one of the O's.....think ot**man empire
Jilli, also, I have 2/4, 2/3, and 4/10 for the As, but 0/0 for the U.
gnt orn
don't have u's yet either
diem, I don't think dart has shown up yet. Mitch did, I think, but hasn't announced a finish as far as I know, so it must be a tough one.
i have one of the u's, before i go - latin bear
thx orn!
thanks, ornith
I bet you are right, Lyn. (Sorry I called you Lynn earlier when I thanked you for welcoming me.) I get more of the Chat with the UNIX text format of the Scrabulous Chat, though; here each Chat entry takes up more room.
maybe you have your fonts set too big also, bee?
got that A -- now for those Os...
late flip.....here but soon to go...mitch finished about 15 min b4 i did....early morn tom...was trying to figure out mrp's bombarded....wonder if it was 3 letters or more forthe word size...or 4 letters or more
scroll down jilli we gave you O clues
try German mans name Jilli
Hi Dart
Thanks for the U clue, Ornith!
back... time to start the grid
hi Dart
hi just...watching hockey game late start but done
did you win?
ty lynxxx, and sorry, mar, I missed the O clues -- will scroll now
mrp 3+ letters or 4 + for bombarded?
minn 3 edmonton 1 :-)
4+ dart, I have the usual suspects
nice....as I'm sure you know the Habs finally clinched a spot!
hi dart! :))
nice pic by the way mrp :-) which arm cant even tell!!
ett a
LOST: four kittens been hidden by their mother and we cant find them lol
that's cause your eyes are not on either arm darty (wink)

ok, NBT :D
is mother around Kiwi?
I have a blank jilli....
no she gone into hiding too and not coming when called
lol just..was distracted by all that talk b4 about the short dresses
55 left and still a blank
which one, mar?
not under the beds behind the dressers in the wardrobes lol
lol :D
thanks dart... right arm is broken, left side ventrical has a central line
the middle t 2nd colum from right
and column too
stupid cat! under the house? in a shed outside? in the boys rooms (underneath all that boy stuff!)
ok, after doing verify... I only have 28 words from BOMBARDED
mar -- greek T?
well yesterday she had them under my dresser which is no more than about 4cm gap between bottom and carpet lol
plural, that is
i have that so not from that t
tks jilli
found 22 pretty quick...and another 6 3 letter ones
ok, I will email you my list... is your email avail?
It's hard to tell which T anything comes from!
have 12/14 of the t next to it so all my words are going to that one
Jilli, did you get the four-letter word for the O in the upper-right corner? That was the one I got on my own, and I can help you with it if you'd like.
mine is in my profile
Greek T?
dart0 at yahoo dot com
lol I know jilli
thanks :)
Hmm, the font size didn't seem to help. Thanks, though.
then it must be your screen resolution bee, do you know how to change it?
bee, try changing the resolution
Mrp was it 45 words?
Nah, Jilli, that will mess up my whole computer. Thanks, though.
mar, I think I know -- it's a tr word
It didn't mess up mine, bee
clever Jilli! TY
thx jilli it is!
:D
halfway... time to open lickety!
ok dart
wags from school too!
Maybe I misunderstand to what you refer then, Jilli?
diem, it was 48 words!

bee, you go to your desktop and right-click. Go to Properties and you can change the resolutions so that the whole screen is a bit smaller and everything fits in.
MrP.....did you see my question?
Mrp i will make it a long term project lunch at work thanks though
yeahh got the ta7/8 combo
Ah, yes Jilli, that actually messes up everything for me, so I will leave it alone. Thanks though!
Well, having reached my NBT goal, although nowhere near halfway, I'm going to crash. I hope to drop in tomorrow, but have no hope of finishing this stinker.
yes mar! on the phone!! email me and I will send you the game
bye Jilli, sleep well
night jilli....actually it's not that difficult.just long
Other application work fine for me. I cna see the entire Scrabulous screen no problem, for instance.

hi hill :)
hi mrp
she is recounting an episode with a boy at school... telling him that if he swears again, she will dob him in to her mum (ME!)
hi again mrp
Yike! he'd better watch out
he said, 'ooooh, I am so scared!' She said, "oh you will be!!"
well he might not be served at the tuck shop so she probably thinks its a good threat
ooh scary mrp
well i have six to go and my brain is frozen... time to take prima donnas to ballet class, bbl.
then I saw his dad that afternoon and told him what he did in the bag room to one of the girls, and told him what maddison said... he laughed!
bye hillary
Mari you still with us?
al6/24 please
so he says, 'I will go home and tell him that I saw Maddie's mum and she told me some things!'
Next day... Maddison goes up to him and says, "did your daddy punish you?? Did he take away your PlayStation? Did he take away your dollies , oh, I mean "action figures"??
Sorry Diem - I was deep in the grid
I laughed too hard... wet pants laughing... she is so like me! She even used 'air' quotes when saying "action figures"
did the sizes look ok?
Haven't been yet Kids are coming down today so I'll let you know
Thanks for the tip, Mrp!
oh I have something to tell you all... would love a global opinion actually... cause ain't sure how to do this. ??
TKS
no prob bee... he is on the way home now... he will get your email and send you the link
tell mrp
a very good friend, for many many years, announced a couple of days ago that he was a father... he didn't tell any of us or his family that his ex-girlfriend was expecting a child... She is 45 and she allegedly lied to him about how old she was, and about taking the pill (birth control). So she also allegedly told him not to tell anyone, incase the child was deformed when born?? Anyone buying this??
so did she have the baby?
is the baby born yet
The child was born a couple of days ago... a healthy baby boy... apparently she had all the tests done before the birth and the child was fine. He didn't even tell his parents he was a father to be until the baby was born... I am kind of confused to that one! We always ask him how things are and what is happening?? They are not getting along and he has no plans to be with her
He told us after the baby was born
does he seem happy now?
too wierd mrp
was she in hiding?
He called me today and talked to me about it, saying he hated the names she picked for the child, didn't get on with her... etc etc... I just congratulated him and he brushed it off
Some people prefer not to announce they are expecting until after the birth (apart from to those to whom it will be obvious).
she was andree... she was hiding incase the child was deformed cause of her age
some men take awhile to warm up
bee, can you express how you know this?
If i use that other interfact, will I still see that chat?
west, he was great about it, but very upset that he wasn't 'allowed' to tell any of his friends, and even his family!
sounds pretty strange to me, thought you could have tests these days to check on such things
she did andree, it was all fin
Interfact=Interface
more mothers now are in their 40's but there is always that worry
yes bee
and i have never heard of anyone keeping it quiet until birth even people i know who were not pleased to be pregnant
How I know that some people prefer this? Because it has at times been my experience. Seems odd not to tell even close freinds or relatives, though.
totally bee
Okay, I will contact Lickety, thanks.
he is a good friend, very close to my husband, even works with him!!
he'll be bringing in pictures soon enough
I have never, in my years, heard of anyone suppressing the birth of a baby to anyone. That is just plain mean
a friend of mine had 6 kids and she said to her husband i have really bad news, he said you haven't lost your new bracelet have you, she said no i'm pregnant again, we roared laughing at that story
Well, I think it is good that a person respect another person's wishes for discretion. I think it is the woman whose behavior is odd, not that of your friend.
love that story andree!
rotate
when I was pregnant with my 4th in less than 6 years our 2nd daughter asked if I couldn't just have a kitty instead
thanks!!
TY Diem
sorry pb for me dont have to look far for the fish
Pregnant teens used to be sent away. I guess I can understand the woman being nervous, though it is a shame she didn't tell mor epeople so as to get support while being worried.
my friends kids were constantly asking their mum for another baby and she was about to elant but as a last try she said a baby or a dog, they chose the dog, roared laughing at that story too
relent too
Hello All!
Darn it all my icon is wrong again.
Hi Andree! and Red !
hi red how goes the battle
bee, she is 45
pb for wes
Today is really find. Hopefully it can remain like this.
my daughter is adopted and nobody told her brother[ my daughter's birth uncle] until we found her birth mother 21 years later
I told my hubby that I got something for the house... he thought I meant furniture... when I told him I was pregnant, he cried!
And then I get some time off to clean and pack!
sigh okay
hi lynxxx and red
oh wow andree!!
with happiness i hope mrp
I can understand a teen hiding a pregnancy, but not a fully grown 'normal' (allegedly) woman
overjoyed andree! overjoyed! he still is... she is a beautiful, darling, wonderful child!
Right, I know, sorry I didn't make it more clear that those were two separate thoughts there.
no i agree mrp, your friend sounds as though he has a real weirdo on his hands
like her mum mrp
totally andree!
oh thanks andree! I needed that today! (((hugs)))
i notice you are in your knickers again mrp, do you have any clothes? lol
Right, the woman sounds a bit off, Mrp. Your friend sounds like he was just respecting her wishes.
LOL!! sorry darling! it is hard for me to dress cause of the arms...
Surprisingly bee, he did... I am so sorry for him though, it sounds as though he will be paying, but not having much to do with the child
I have to take todays pic... I look like a shotgun victim
bee, where do you herald from?
sorry if I have been abrupt today... am usually a kitten, but today I am a leopard with a thorn in my paw.
deep breathes!! aahhhhhhh....now where is the valium? :D
got chucked off , forgot i was ouside on battery, the reference to the knickers for everyone else is when i met mrp when she was in hospital she was in her undies, lol
hi all
hi Ardilla
mind you if i looked that good i would run around in my knickers too, but those days are behind me
hi ardi
hi ardilla
I am in the United States. Your friend should get a paternity test, first of all, and if he wants rights as a father -- especially a relationship with the child -- he should get an attorney.
had to refresh browser looked like no one chatted for 3 hrs
how is everyone?
good here Ardilla - you?
I'm up to 69 words. How are you doing, Ardilla?
ok got to go outside today but overdid it
going slowly without the list are you feeling better ardi?
don't push yourself Ardilla - its only been just over a week hasn't it?
had to take a 4+ hr nap to recover
tried to walk to an appointment and overextended myself
ill be taking taxis for a while
but happily today is last day of bed rest
phantom: carriwitchet
Hi BabRab
hello, peoples
hi BR any jokes today?
I agree bee!
hi bab
good morning all... I see applause as a phantom, probably because I deserve it :)
Ardilla - it takes a while to get everything working up to speed after complete rest. Just increase your walking by 5 minutes everyday
Hi Sprite!
wonderful advice, lyn!
What has more lives than a cat?
hello sprite what did you do?
A frog -- it croaks every night.
hello, sprite
oooh bad
but good!!
ty lynxxx for your wise advice *hug*
sprite!!! *hug*
lol BR
had an absolutely crazy day yesterday, but did not panic. To give you an example of how crazy: I cooked an ovendish in the morning, so we could eat even on a hectic day... I started the oven in time... and when we got the dish out, it was still icecold.
why?
hi lyn and BabbleRabble and ardilla and west and mrP :)
oven broke down
wow...sorry :(
oh bad luck
That's a good joke! *grin*
and did you kick it Sprite?
phantom: alcohol
yeah, it was really a mess, all that could go wrong, went wrong. And still I have not panicked, was in time to teach symbolism at the church and made it a terrific lesson for all of us. So I am proud of me.
that looks a bit desperate Ardilla
lyn: this morning, yes :D And it helped too. Yesterday, I just asked my love to go out and take out chinese.
YAH, sprite!
alcohol is volatile stuff, turns to phantoms too quickly
yah, found 7 6's & 1 7
wtg ardilla
time for jeopardy! bbl
hi babrab and sprite :) just back from another phone call
yay finally worked out the bear
wb mrP!
worked out the bear? I bet this is a clue :)
no, just the ur4.5. can never remember it
wb mrp how are you?
phone call again!
and latin plural the bear guys.
my favorite Peter De Vrees line is "Gladly, the cross-eyed bear"
thanks lyn :) I just started, so thanks for a vowel word! Always makes me think of L'ours, that movie about a bear... so touching and beautiful
TY Red
hiya red!
I am a bit worried already starting to slow down at 77...
Hi Sprite!
our mrP is busy and popular tonight :) Hope they are nice phone calls.
Ooh, thanks Red.
hi bee!
I have 84 still left and really really slow - and not a single A from the bottom!
aw, you guys make this grid sound scary. That bad huh?
Lynxx, you have a Yellow coloured Au**... from the bottom.
Hi there Sprite.
Pleased to meet you.
good grief! TY Red
same here, bee! Having fun with this madness?
More than one as well, in fact, Red and Lyn.
It is fun, yes, thanks Red.
I mean Sprite, sorry.
thnaks red :)
YW guys.
actually 2 types of plurals, and found the al4.6 love songs
rth!!! *hug*
np, red and I are mutually exchangeable, aren't we red? :)
Sure Sprite, that works for me!
darn, even sure is a phantom. Phantom city again today.
Thanks Lyn, yes, two plurals!
ohhh found a 7! Found 2!
I have only 2 sevens. A to and A co.
a co and a ta
*grin* Sprite and Red, thanks. I find this chat interface a bit difficult, so my apologies for errors I make.
long phone call, back again, hi sprite and anyone else who has joines chat
hiya Andree!
My daughter loves Miami Ink
if you can and want to, go pro, bee, and ask Lickety for the Babble Expert. If you are on windows, that is. It makes it much easier... our lickety does what drG cannot or will not do :D
I dont use Babble expert, btu I do spend a great deal of time in the Penalty Box.
i don't use it either red
of course, our FMitch has made the sin bin so attractive that people like red err on purpose, just to get in there...
co7/36 please
LOL distraction.
I cannot afford that at this time, Sprite. But I did contact Lickety at the suggestion of Mrp. Thanks for your advice!
The only clue, I have Andree is that it is a great musicla group from Cape Breton.
yvw, bee :)
I have two 7-letter words as well!
I think Mrp said Pro wasn't necessary for Lickety's special interface?
so it's a french word red?
tough to clue, that co. Or maybe not... a partner, a friend, a mate, com****. Change 3rd letter.
co7 metals does this when it rusts but change the last o to another vowel
lol lyn!
how about small bed, plus sticky stuff and plural it.
thx sprite, red and lynxxx
ty got them both
My 7-letters are an AL and an RO.
red thats the only one i got
bee, if mrP says so, it probably isn't. I thought lickety only gave the expert to pro players or longtime players, to avoid problems with drG, but I could be mistaken. MrP is in a much better position to know :)
my ta is a plural, permanent pics on body
Lickety gave me Expert when I was not pro, but probabkly because he felt bad because I spend so much time in the PB.
another 7 is ro to turn past tense
I am having trouble following the recent clues. Can you restate which clue goes with which two letters?
I might be remembering wrong what Mrp said, Sprite.
tks red had the 6
7s: al; au; ba; co; co; pl; ra; ro; ta; ta; to; to
Thanks Sprite for your clue! Got that and its singualr as well.
thx babble
What is the PB?
need clue for the al7 please, haven't got the 6
TY BR
PB= penalty box = sin bin = virtual place where babbler go who put grid words in the chat
penalty box
human error respite
Oh, by accident, Sprite, because of trouble navigating between the two text-entry places?
al6 al4.6 + abbrev for thankyou - then plural
indeed, bee! The setup of this babble site is not user-friendly in that respect, if you chat and then go on babbling it is bound to happen.
but its alright thats why we have the PB, its fun to hang out in there with the clue sinners.
thanks for the list, BabbleRabble
man, not an easy grid today. I could use some satori.
Thanks Sprite. The Chat at Scrabulous works pretty well for me. This layout here is not easy to manage.
Thanks Sprite. The Chat at Scrabulous works pretty well for me. This layout here is not easy to manage.
In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.
ahhh, sprite, all the grids are easy
bee "pass the fish" is when you ask for a clue and it is an easy one,we all get the fish at some point
I agree, bee. And I was stupid enough to say so, when the site was changed into this pro setup, so drG still hates me, lol.
Amen, BabbleRabble, but only in retrospect!
thx lynxxx, what a strange word
I feel badly, because I like to respond to people who say somethingto me in Chat, especially if they are responding to something I said or asked, but here I am having troubel manuevering, so I am probably being rude to people who have been answering my questions.
bee, don't worry be happy
nothing stupid about saying what you think sprite
Thanks Diem. Was that definition in reference to something I said?
bee, we usually do not think people are being rude. The chat can move very fast too, and you should not worry.
Aw, thanks Babble.
the pl6.24 & 7.36 is right up Reds alley
Thanks Sprite. It is indeed good to assume the better of people.
Andree, the only stupid thing about it was me thinking that if someone asks for feedback on changes, he wants real feedback, not just compliments. I really learned from that experience, I usually check first now if people want real feedback. Most don't.
if someone asks me for feedback, they will get it ... if they don't like what I say, TOUGH
The Chat doesn't seem to move fast in and of itself, but rather seems -- to me, at least -- to take up too much vertical room per entry. Also, my preference would be to add new entries to the bottom -- as Scrabulous chat, Instant Messaging, and IRC do -- because that is more natural.
sort of like that old saw, beware of what you ask for
hm... you got me there, BabbleRabble. Still scared to make people angry at me, I think. Will think on that one.
...it might be given :D Too tr4.
i a just saying to my daughter yesterday that the best part of being 64 is when asked i say what i think and could not care less whether they like it or not
ok... I wanna be 64!
I actually like the format, I can move the chat out of the way if I want to etc...
no you don't sprite
Andree and me, just 2 "grumpy old women" - and proud of it!
I am so used to it, I don't notice format nor peculiarities anymore. Took me a very long time though.
i'm back
if you respond to a request and the response is not appreciated, there is one problem... if you get concerned there are two problems .. one too many
bye all - have a nice day. Peaceful night Diem sleep well
beats the hell out of 41 and scared though, Andree
night all brain dead
be well, mari
bye mari & diem
be well, diem
nahhhhhh diem. Please don't call us braindead. Tsk! And... sleep well :)
Bye Mari, nite Diem
If I could get the whole screen to fit on my screen at once, I might have an easier time. (Please don't suggest tinkering with font size and screen resolution as both have already been suggested, the former I have tried, and the latter I am not going to do just for the sake of this one application.)
you too, mari, and wb ardilla
nd while i am in the mood for saying what i think, we love to have new people on babble but you have come up with an awful lot of critisms for a first timer bee
great minds think alike mari bye all poof
ah, it all fits on mine, that might help
Bye Diem! Still confused about the refernce, but thanks and sleep well.
poof
I SO want that -tle ending.
me too and i keep trying it,lol
so do I :)
rock a by baby in the tree top
? babble
piece of furniture too
as we all frantically sing the rest of the song to work out a word...
Andree, it seems those hwo are 64 know the correct phrase is "could not care less." It drives me nuts when people say they "could care less."
when the wind blows the .....
Yes, indeed, I am sure when I get more used to things it will be smoother. But It is s
But it is hard to not have both the chat and that puzzle on the screen at the sam etime.
that can only be solved by a high enough resolution, and if you don't want to change that, it won't become better!
bee - the problem lies with your computer or something. My puzzle and chat are beside each other.
for me too, Haz, and hi :)
oh my, just had a 30 minute survey over the phone... love those during dinner
(Andree, that was to say thanks to you for using the right phrase! It was refreshing to see.)
I am certain that will be an easy clue, once I found the word, BabbleRabble ;)
goodmorning Haz - great to see you
hi mrp how are you?
lol mrP
hi haz
i fit licketys clues to the left then the grid and chat, can fit it all on, i am a computer idiot so took me months to size it up properly
Good morning/evening all. I'll be back later.
hb andree
*haz
hi haz
Sprite and Haz -- hi Haz, pleased to meet you -- my resolution is the best that it can be for this setup, other thinsg work fine, and they are indeed beside eahc other -- there just isn't enough room.
Andree, I wihs I ocudl look over your shoudler to see what you have done.
Bee - Haz is probably right. I have played Babble on at least 7 different types of computers (incl Macs) and screens (large & v small) and have never had a problem with the "sizing"
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
my only problem with it not fitting was after my computer crash, before reinstalling the screen drivers.
lol BR
clue for the 8 pls?
and bee, you will find that lots of babblers use correct phrases. It is wonderful to chat with chatters who know their language(s).
and God, while you are at it... please grant me patience. And I WANT TO HAVE IT RIGHT NOW!
lol sprite
ta 8 -- extend the ta 5 piece of furniture with two vowels and plural
Hmm, Sprite, that is good information, that it works for you easily on more than half a dozen computers. I wonder what the problem is, then.
ta7.40 & 8.55 a scene eg a landscape, french type end
babble just got word from your silly rhyme, though you had early onset senility, lol
can't rule it out
Indeed, Sprite. It is so refreshing! That is why I wanted to apprecaite it, but, ironically, I did so quite clumsily.
thanks BabbleRabble and lyn.
throw me a fish...i knew that was a word
Aw, I don't have the TA 5 furniture.
*throws ardilla a smoked salmon and some crackers*
Bee - set the ta*** for dinner
dining room ta***
ooh...yum!
bee, my son is almost 12 and now often puts his feet on it. Just to hear me say I don't want that.
coffee ta***
i use my laptop at home, computer at work andif i'm babysitting my kids computers, so i think your computer is the problem bee
cons***** --- a lawman with less authority and jurisdiction than a sheriff
must be, and it IS probably a resolution problem. With the correct drivers and a high resolution, my laptop works fine with babble as well.
ta 5 -- lone ranger's kimosabe, sort of
volcano(s) alert
tr 6 -- not false, less one, and a pismire
OKay, thanks all! I set it, I didn't put my feet on it, my coffee is on it, so don't call the authorities!
*
what's a pismire?
BBS coffee and a few odd jobs to do - AND it has been raining for 2 days now! joy of joys
grin*
good bee :)
an emmet
what's a emmet?
I probably coudl have gotten that, but I went into another window an dthen came back and saw the clues.
lolol I don't know either either.
picnic pest
glad you asked ardilla , i would love to know
ah, now I got it, thanks BabbleRabble. Learned 2 new words!
Now to figure out the TA 8, that piece of furniture plus two vowels, pluralized, you say?
to 7 -- high wind storm, abbr, and marquis de ****
Ah, got it, and the singular too, thanks!
to 7 -- capable of being born
can't have any fake pismires running around
I wonder if pismires are the same bugs as dutch pissebedden.
It's funny, this format for clues.
hm no, only the picnic pest bug is called this.
pissebedden does not appear to be what I had in mind
*kicks narrator fiercely back deep into phantom land*
no, I checked it, BabbleRabble, and you are right, they are not.
how are the bahamas babble, got the hammock set up?
co 6 -- has the ta 7 ending
ra7: having the capability to be a rodent?
have hammock will rock
Ooh, I got the not-false picnic pest, thanks!
BabbleRabble, you rock even without a hammock
awesome clues sprite & BR
help with ba7/40 pls
not getting to7 :(
ends in french water, hillary, and hi
Got the CO 6 TA 7 ending one, thanks!
well i have to be up at 5am, doing the flowers for a wedding and have to be at the market at 6am, must think about having an early night
sounds wise, Andree. Sleep well and have a terrific day tomorrow!
See, when I can follow along CHat, it helps!
yep
any ideas for ba7/40?
just gave you one, hillary
Happy flowering to you, Andree!
i shall bring home some extra flowers for you all
has the ta 7 ending too
oh, that would be lovely, Andree *hug*
oh... or should i say ***... and hi sprite
starts with a cudgel
i love going to the flower market, if you are early it is just beautiful
and ends with a long mesaesque stucture: pla****
and when you can actually keep your eyes open, you enjoy it much more :D
happy babbling all
be well, Andree
bye andree
ba 6 has the pla**** too
rose essense and plural are grid denizens
nicely put, BabbleRabble. Thanks
can anyone help with first ta5/10?
furniture with other last vowel? Not sure about first though.
no the indian drums is ta5/14
then maybe colour from the sun and not from.
the kimosable clue was for the ta 5
kimosabe
tr4 to gridform, that typo, BabbleRabble!
BA 7/40 with water has me confused. BA is worth 4 points and French water is worth 6, so how is there another letter in there?
french water is worth 4. It is the singular.
french water is worth 4 ... it's only three letters
jay silverheels was to*** ta 5 has the same end letters
snap, hillary ;)
thanks babble, i'm not great with tv history
there is another ba with the same ending but the whole word is only six letters long... means boat
and fireworks
congrats sprite... don't know how you do it
congrats, sprite .. another one bites the dust
awwwwww the vid is not available anymore.
Oh, my fault. I was adding an article before the Frech water. French water is three letters so it is Ba then two letters then the Frecnh water, right?
yep, and the two letters are a double consonant
today I did it with lots of help from BabbleRabble and others.
sorry sprite - it must have left just recently - maybe click on it and find another
can anyone help with the sa5/10?
*hugs lickety*
congrats Sprite!!
Thanks Hillary. Got it now, that double clue helped. Looks familiar, but I don't quite know the word.
sa 5 -- precedes domingo
refuses to let me click on it, it went blanco. But no harm done, I can do without for once ;)
hi lickety & hillary
hi ardilla
the only precedent to domingo i know starts with pl...
thanks all! I must be off, but leave you in the more than capable clueing hands of our BabbleRabble. Have fun babbling, sleep well and/or enjoy your day. *hugs*
cya sprite
bye sprite *hugs*
bye sprite
claus with a diff last vowel
babble can you clue that sa5 again?
woot got the ba7!
just did
sa5 Sa**a Claus - substitute another vowel at the end
d'oh... now i feel thick!
oops sorry BR didn't see your same clue
how about the co7?
co7.36 what metal does when it rusts but change the second o
hmm... that's a new one!
that's fireworks for me
congrats, hillary
congrats Hill!
wtg hillary
i guess no one needs clues... so i'll be off to cook dinner.
i need some 7s clues
which ones?
i have ba cox2 ra ro tax2 what is missing?
there's an al7
and an au7
and a pl7
and two to7s
and that's is
in fact,that's it
I don't have any of the words beginnning with the E.
clues for some of these pls esp a's?
thear are three ea4s, an el4, two et4s and an et5
ea4 merit
et4.4 think italian volcano - & -plural
ea 4 listening device
al7 is plural of al6 before it, think of the seagoing bird in the rime of the ancient mariner but end it in the first vowel instead of -ross
Thanks Hilary. That will help.
OKay Lyn, I will try.
au7 is past tense of au6 before it, related to au4, ghostly shadow
Babble, I coudl have sworn I eneterd that early on! I knwo I saw it.
ea 4 -- our planet less first consonant
ty hillary
el 4 -- church el*er*
so i still have a pl & 2to
et 4 -- greek letters
I wonder what other ones I saw previously and thought I had entered didn't get entered due to lag.
pl 4.5; 5.14; 6.24; 5.12; 5.12; 4.6; 6.24; 7.36
whatever you enter at the lag usually gets entered bee.
TY BabRab was missing that pl4.6 (which looks so wrong!)
clue for pl6 pls?
Wow, I have all the E words now. Thanks all!
PL 6 is a plural. Do you have the PL 5?
to 4.5; 5.12; 4.4; 6.21; 5.12; 4.4; 5.10; 4.5; 4.4; 4.4; 7.32; 7.36; 4.4; t.12; 5.21
i need the 2nd pl6 pls
Hi fellow babblers...would you help an incurable lurker who just cannot find the sa 5/10? Any clues would be greatly appreciated!
pl***isy is an inflammation of the lungs - end with a vowel and then plural
Hi ddb
hi lynxxx...can't sleep, but can't find this one either!
hi nana
PL 5 is PL then two vowels then a consonant. PL 6 is the plural of that PL 5.
PL 5 is PL then two vowels then a consonant. PL 6 is the plural of that PL 5. Hope that helps.
sa5.10 Sa**a Claus - end in a vowel
to 5.12; 6.21 ... last two
hi ardilla!
errr....looking at the wrong s...need some sleep!
ty lynxxx
Those PL words, I found them myself! It feels good to be able to give a clue on a words I found on my own.
Ardilla - did you get the pl6.24 & 7.36?
best thing about finding words is you don't have to look for them any more, unless you want to
Well finally...fireworks! Thanks for all the great clues and goodnight!
congrats and sleep well
lol goodnite & congrats ddb!
Okay, I have the LIckety interface up now, after some weird warnings. Thanks Lickety! But this doesn't help the problem of space, for now I have even less room to display the full Babble screen.
I stil lhave to scroll around. How does haveing les sroom help people with the PB issue?
If you use the 'Lickety Add' feature it will allow only a single word to be entered into the grid. If more than one word entered it will go to the chat
Okay, thanks. That explains that. But I have even more scrolling to do, though it goes mor esmoothloy now.
Bee - your size and scrolling unfortunately seems to remain a problem just for you. I am afraid I am no computer whizz so cannot advise
wow wtg & gn nana
still not getting pl7 or either to7
OKay. Wish I coudl see over your shoulder! Thanks for your help!
:(
I have a TO 7. It is a word of which I had never heard.
clue pls?
I got it from an earlier clue given.
pl7 pl***l is more than single, but add another vowel after the l for pl6 - then plural for the 7
to7.32 to* is a hill & not happy & vowel
I am trying to remember how it was phrased. Just a moment, sorry.
to7.36 means able to be added. to + the piece of furniture in the grid
tyvm lynxxx *hugs* got all 3 *hug again*
123 left
Lyn's clues will do it for you, Ardilla, I think.
51 here - struggling not to open list
they did
Hello everyone.
Hi Scrabs
SCRABBS!!! *hugs*
how was work?
**sucking down coffee in order to warm up**
Hello

hi herin

opps does anyone want a kitty
i have bunny callie on me now
How is bunny Scrabbler?
oh, i thought you meant you found a kitty in the grid...lol :)
She is doing well. I had to put her down--she was not happy.
oh Scrabs - you gave me such a fright - what you said could be read another way!
nor poor kitty.
Sorry Ardilla i just got home. Scrabbler i hope work as better today
"Have tea, will babble" - hi all !
Opps that was Nor poor bunny
HI Montreal
Monty!!
Lynxxx, I picked her up because she was chewing on her rug and I needed to talk to her again about that habit.
hi mont
Hi Luc
*sigh of relief*
hiya there babble friends - how's the grid today ?
interesting
So far it is fun, Luc.
Boy grumpy pants has gone to bed. We signed the lease and saw the new place today
did i scare everyone off?
nope
Nope, I am typing like mad.
ditto - nope

Morning bablee
Hi Nono

Hi nanette
Hi cabbage
Hi cabbage
Hey guys
G'd morning Babblers! This grid has the potential to suck, big time.....

date
hi cab
good morning Lori !
Lori !
we have that one cabbage - you have to do better than that !!lol
Hi everyone that just entered
5 words, 208, whatever. :-)
sorry, had the cursor in the wrong box...!
entering new game into pc
Hi Lori...I am having fun so far, finding lots of words, but the big wall looms, I am sure.
good morning Lori
hello one and all!!
LOL Scrabbler. I'm just undermotivated this morning. Again.
Hi Pink
hi pink
Hi Pink
bonjour pink ! - what game is that herin ?
hi pink
ok i'm diving in ...... splash!
Let's move it, Lori! Stop whining, start typing.
*waves*
Jeez Nono that bellyflop had ta' hurt!
lol Scrabs
New expansion for the Sims 2 HI pink
Hey pink! Whining sounds so harsh. How 'bout whimper?
i have played SimCity wwwwaaaaayyyy back .... but have heard about SIms - sims interesting :-P
naahhh Lori landed in the middle of some nice soft co6/21
Lori, you were whining, now move it, fireworks are in your future.
Monteral. Im horridly addicted to the game i have all the expansion packs
Yes ma'am. ***kicks at dirt.***
THat would be 11 packs probabbly a good couple of hundred dollars worth
more addicted than Babble... or sudoku ?
yes indeed. Oh poop i got to give the b.f $40
Lori, when you are looking at fireworks you will thank me. **sounding like a harsh mother**
What's this world coming to when ya' can't even whine, and screw off? Yeesh.
brb
herin, how does AUS $ compare to either US or CAN $ ?
This is Babble Land, Lori. We come to search and destroy.
Bought 90c in the dollar.
***locks and loads, seeks out words lest Scrabbler send an elite squad to "reeducate me"***
hello everyone
I tend to try and get stuff cheaper (or buy books online)
G'd morning Tones
hi tones - makes sense herin
Hi Tones
I'm doin' it, but you can't make me like it. ***pouts***
I have whined about this before. One book i want is $70 in the stores and $30 delivered to my door. It makes no sense
Hi Tones
since i read quite a bit, i have stopped buying books - i use both Longueuil's and Montreal's network of libraries - i thus have access to over 30 libraries and it's expanding all the time...
Lori, you are one of the Babble Rangers, just having a tough morning on assignment. A fellow soldier like me is trying to get you motivated. Hey, there aren't even any RE words today.
I am jelous mont that is a lot off librarys
Okay, that's the deal breaker. No re's! ***Puts on fake happy face, and stares at yellow tiles earnestly.***
Hugs Lori
I have access to Montreal's network through my brother Richard since i don't live in the city proper, otherwise, it would cost me a fair bit - as it is, it's all free !
Lovely
Libraries are bargains!
finally greyed-out 1 box (corner P)
**wondering if Lori is having fun yet?**
I am amused that one of the Sims 2 new characters has the same name as me and also likes the same stuff as i do.
Yippee, Monty!
lol herin AND scrabs...
Yea monty. You're in MENSA mode today! I however, retain all rights to DENSA.
Lori! You are being a Cranky Pants today. Haha
lol lori... temporary situation i'm sure...
Lori do you have the same problem as me? To big undies wedging up your butt?
1st there were grumpy pants... and now cranky pants... ? is this a new trend ?
Lady!!!!!!!! Hahahahahaha
I am Sleepy Pants. We are the dwarves of Babble.
Seriously i was grumpy pants today as everything i was wearing was too damn big
in that case i am .... pants... nah, rather not say...
I have had 3 nights in a row of lousy sleep.
Happy Pants, Luc?
is this usual for you scrabs ?
The problem is not my pants, and in the interest of International Diplomacy, I will not discuss my pants further! ***Stoopid yellow tiles***
Love you lorry
not happy exactly...
Oh yah i just found a bus from my door step to the mall
When I am stressed out I don't sleep well----Monday it was work stuff/boss Richard Head being an idiot. Tuesday it was money worries. Last night it was money worries.
I have 14 words. Am I done yet?
er not quite lori ... but close to !
Where is Uniquity? Lori needs an intervention.
you know you need your sleep scrabs...
morning all
HI Nutstar
hi there nutty !
Yah 10 min bus trip after yoga YAH happy bounce
I think Lori needs a soothing word or two. I can feel the vibes from here.
Hi Nutter--help Lori, please. She is being defiant this AM.
Hazel--off to the PB---so5!
i'm not one for soothing words...i'm more of an aggravater
hello there dear hazel !
Byeee - off I go to PB.
G'd morning Evan, Haz. Scrabbler, Uni may be late this morn.
"hands hazel a hot cuppa and croissants"
***laughs heartily at Haz*** ---------> PB
Objection. I used so5 within a word, not on its own. Others have done worse. I'm sitting down in protest.
OK, I shall take the compassionate route. Lori, we love you and know that you are having trouble becoming motivated to find words. You are a darn great Babbler and we know that you will finish this grid in the 17+ remaining hours. You go girl!
lol hazel and tr4/5 !
And Hazel gets off on a technicality. **wondering when Hazel went to law school?**
I think Scrabbler is showing signs of double personality.
know what i say, duck the words...it's just a stupid silly puzzle. pick your nose instead, the results can be much more interesting
Nope, you made me consider another approach to Lori.
go Lori go !! - lol nuts !
Hands Lori an Easter Egg or 10
Who polices the police then? ***points @ Haz***
off to do hair and stuff
***Wonders why I have this sudden urge to sing Kum-by-ah***
Later Nutters
later nutso - need more tea myself - BRB
Have a good one evan
'We shall not, we shall not be moved'
Haha, Lori, let's hold hands and sway.
That's okay, I didn't want any tea Monty. ***sniffle***
We shall overcome, we shall overcome.
"will bring you a steaming cuppa lori"
since i have a new game im off to play. later gators
I've just had an awful thought. If Vicuna hears us singing, we're done for. She'll join in and then we'llbe arrested for public disorder offences and breach of the peace.
bye bye herin have fun
enjoy Sims 2 and all attachments Herin - bye
Bye, Lady---have fun in your alternate world. Sounds fun.
I will
i'm back
bye herin
wb ardilla.
niger barker is so hot!
*watching america's next top model*
Finally, 100 words found. Now I have to make rounds at 2 different hospitals before going to the office. Bye all. Enjoy the day. Lori, I am sending happy and motivational vibes your way.
bye Scrabs - have a good day
bye scrabbs *hugs* hagd
Lynxxx, Ardilla, Luc, Nanette, Hazel--keep a close eye on Lori, will ya?
100? Impossible. Have a good one, even though 'yer delusional Scrabbler.... :-)
Bye Scrabbler.
i found 103...
103 now----bye!
I think Lori will be okay now. Won't you, Lori?
yah, we're tied!
C'mon people, I'm not that dense. There are not 100+ words in this grid. This is a conspiracy!
Who's involved in the conspiracy? Can you name names?
Hi All!!!
As a pseudo intellectual, I know a hoax when I see one.....
morning everybody!
rth!!! hugs
So excited, the doctor just gave me ten dollars for my Doctors without Borders Marathon, puts me up to 463.60...
morning littlebit
hi littlebit
hi tones
wb Red
G'd morning red. Haz, you know I'm not at liberty to name names. Yet.
Hi Little
Hi Little bit, tones, ardilla, lynxx, and lorip.
and Haz.
Oops, g'd morning little
hi tones, ardilla, lynxx lori and red and any one else i missed!
How is everyone this morning?
i'm back - hi red and littlebit !
Waving hello. I'm on sit down protest, though I've forgotten why.
or afternoon or evenign or late night as the case may be,
hi mont!
Hi Montreal. Early for you?
able
i'm not awake yet!
"whispers to hazel - it's about the unfair PB you got for the quote USE unquote of the word so5/12"
Egss in the PB possibly.
Ah yes. I feel the sense of injustice rising once more. 'We shall not, we shall not be moved'
it's 7h30 here red - been up for an hour now - i got to bed at 10 or so last night...
brb
I should translate time better, 5 30 here.
Soo I shall be on your time zone.
Florida correct red ?
Yes, your time zone, not your weather. how are you enjoying the rest of winter?
Whoo Hoo, 99 left. I am under 100.
Right, I'm going to abandon the sit down protest for a while and take Spangle for a walk. She was starting to howl at my singing. Bye for now.
believe it not, it's snowing right as we "speak" - with minus 1 C (about 30 F) - yesterday, the winds were harsh and it was quite cold...
later hazel
Haz, your singing was lovely.
Enjoy your walk Haz.
Bye!
bye Haz - and Spangle
bye haz
bye haz
have to run, bye everyone have a good day
bye Tones
enjoy Tones
Bye tones. Have a good one yourself.
Montreal, I dont envy your weather.
bye tones
bye tones
not that bad...usually; this is a record year - actually broke 2 scrapers shovelling this season..."sigh"
Wow Montreal. I can not begin to imagine.
You and Scrabbler seem to have difficult weather.
sorry mont. i'm supposed to have a high of 75 today (nice and warm!)
it was funny : a few days ago, mrpresident was asking, after viewing my flickr pics, what was that white stuff in my yard ? - i offerred cocaine and dandruff as possibilities...
I am headed to NC this time next week, I can not wait.
then Fl, and hopefully I will be good enough not to complain when it gets too hot.
75 littlebit... we'll not reach that in months...lol
lol mont!
we're just starting to. it will be a nice change, but nothing like what you've had!
now at 123 words and the grid looks like mush.
humans get used to just about anything... and we canadians can attest to that...lol
Montreal, you are just tough. I am of the weaker species,
yeah, i used to live in northern michigan. it got pretty cold up there.
finally, 100 words found...still only 1 tile greyed-out..."sigh"
female you mean red ?
Not cold blooded
lol red
er cold blooded, not not, meant No, but I am afemale.
i accepted your insult, np red...lol
northern Michigan yep...you would get the big winds from the great lakes...
An insult, no I didnt mean ti that way, I feel weak but I must insist on a hot climate for the rest of my life!
red, you didn't find NM's weather too hot ??
Oh gosh, Montreal. I am in Northern NM, it got to freezing last night, and then up to about 70 in the day, not hot enough.
ABout 60 miles from Colorado. We flew a pt to denver tonight.
ahh okay - Florida will have the added bonus of "humidity" though...
I actually like humidity. I am odd, but I lived in NC sooo long that....
we have it here as well red - so when it gets cold (or hot) we feel it much worse...
could anyone please clue for sa5/10? Just not seeing it. Thx.
Was just looking at your snow pictures Mont...no wonder bears hibernate - who could be bothered getting thru all that snow - 'cept mad canadians of course
well thank you lyn - makes me proud !
I am just used to it, NM is really really dry..
sa5.10 Sa**a Claus - change that last vowel to another
hi nurse
tx lyn - 3rd tile greyed-out !
hiya there nurse !
Hi Nurse.
2 nurses in the chat - WOW ! - we are safe !
ty lynxx and hello ardilla , montreal, etc.
and hi red, also
this nurse has laryngitis this AM so you wouldn't want me to help today. Ugh with this cold!
I keep wanting to see and type croatalid. A snake species but its not here and it may be spelled incorrectly!
i know crotal is a snake,,, maybe u r referring to it's family...
GM all - how are things in Babble Land?
hi kje
i'm back. hey nurse and kje!
Hi kje
hi kje - fairly easy start for grid and, snowing here of course...
hello everyone!!
bonjour Annie !
hi annie!
AnnieB!
Luc, I think you had enough snow..tell the snow gods it is spring
69 in Dallas - and suppose to hit low 80s - wanna trade places Montreal?
Yes crotalids are a family of venomous snakes, copperheads and stuff.
HI kje!
nah kje but thanks - i think the shock would kill us both !
red, are you going to Florida next month?
just moved here from NE - so actually this is too warm too fast for me - but not sure I'd rather spend it in snow
we did Annie, we did...but it's snowing still ! what can we do ? What CAN we Do ?
I am going to Florida in April, yes.
fun stuff red?
red, you will like florida if you like hot and humid
I hope so.
April is lovely in florida
I will be in Florida for 3 months Kje for work and some training at the triathelete training center...
It's always a Cr** shoot until you get there and see what the place is like, you know.
wow - cool!
Luc, may Dr_God can help since he seems to have some influence with the other guy
goodnite everyone, now fading fast
red, that sounds great
night lynxxx - sleep tight
maybe Annie... but i don't believe his influence reaches the northern climes...
gnite, lynxxxie, nice to see you
LOL, luc
gn lynxxx!
sweet dreams lyn
it sounds good, and I hope it is, but the hospital could be crud...as is often the case. I just hoope it isnt too cruddy!
on to the grid...lots of doubles..dives in *splat*
where in FL red?
hello.
hi dc!
buenos dias DC !
hi dc
i'm going to be out of town tonight through sunday night, just so yall know, with no computer access.
Hello everyone!
holy cow...dc...how r u???
bummer dc
hi pink
hi pink
hi, pink.
{{pink}}
hi dcs
*waves*
hi pink and carlee - are you feeling 100% now DC ?
did the expression "holy cow" originate in India?
hi luc...snow disappearing yet?
i'm well, carlee, ty. School's going well, the dealership has my car through Tuesday AM to fix the clutch - again, and i'm going to an ecumenical conference this weekend to study hinduism. :)
hi pink whatsup------------------
i'm at about 98%, luc, but doing well.
hey cool
hi everyone
good one BR - and sadly, no carlee..."sigh"
i keep seeing taco
morning, babrab and cool.
hi there cool !
taco that isn't there
its going here...slwoly..and I saw ab out 20 robins gathered at the golf course...no golf clubs in sight tho
hi pink, carlee, BR(groan) and everyone I missed
hi cg & carlee
hi annie
here, the maples, crabapples, lindens, dogwoods, forsythia are in bloom, along with many bulbs.
cherrys are coming up soon, likely this weekend. :)
hi, annie
hi ardilla, how's the ankle?
too much snow here yet for blooms dc
here, only snowbanks are in bloom !
clutch go out because of all that stop and go traffic, dc?
hi there ardilla
morning annie
halfway done...going to the list
not too bad
hi, ardilla.
the forsythia is in bloom in brooklyn
i love the forsythia with the cherry trees - the pink and yellow together are fun.
crutched to an appt and overdid it took a 4+ hr nap to recover will take taxis next times
phantom: tartar
did not know snow was a cash crop ... geese are flying over now to canada
geese never LEFT canada...we have a HUGE flock that stay all winter here...
gm carlee, dc and BR!
well BR, i think they will be a bit early this year - BIG surprise for them...
hi little
ah, canadian geese. the migratory ones are back here again. We have year-round populations of them too.
hiya, littlebit
i hate those things...filthy birds... and bloody agressive too
if we could marlet our snowbanks BR, we'd be RICH !
waiting for the whooping cranes to whoop in
you could melt, purify, and bottle it for a healthy profit, luc.
our blue jays seem to stick around all year...
must be a cash cow if you have snow banks
it's the "purify" part that would kill that dream DC...
feldspar is on the neighbour's deck, trying to hunt the flying birds
"double groan" BR...
the blue jays, and other corvids, only just rebounded here last year. west nile was not kind to them.
BR, you're killing me
when our sea gulls start eating at the beach again, winter is officially over!
seagulls never really leave here either
I live near the ocean, seagulls abound
eventhough the ocean is far from here, our seagulls stick around ... mostly around the fast food joints...
good morning everybody - we are all searching for signs of spring, but it is still very cold here - birds are silent today
gm JBV
good morning, jbv!
hi there JBV
hi, all. I had a great time last night. I moved my main blog to a different platform
gm angel
good morning Angel
morning, angel.
hello angel
you have more than 1 blog Angel ?
good morning babblers
don't know what that means, angel, but congratulations
morning, nance.
hi there nance
hey dc
hi nance
gm nance
hey montreal
jbv, my memory of living in Boston is that what they call 'Spring' we call 'Winter' here. LOL
hey annie & little
LOL, dc, if you're getting ready for cherry blossoms, you're way ahead of us here in NJ -
dc - do you know the Spanish saying that there are only 2 seasons in Madrid - el invierno y el infierno
indeed, jbv, i lived there for a year in my teens.
130 down, 83 to go - time for a break - BBL - happy babblings all - enjoy the day - bye - "POOF"
bye, Luc, happy day!
ciao, luc
bye mont
bye montreal
they dryness of La Mancha amazed me, as did that fact that most of Spain is altiplano and desert.
we have a similar saying here JBV - we have 2 seasons, winter and july ! - Ã la prochaine ! - "ACTUAL POOF"
really, monty? interesting - it seems the reverse of the Spanish one - bye for now
here it is winter and construction
i don't recall the heat in Madrid being bad. Maybe because it's so much less humid than DC.
winter and construction, babrab?
well, I remember broiling summer days - it's a good thing I never understood the Celsius temperatures or I would have never ventured out
i remember days of 38-43ºc in Barcelona. 90or so F that is.
Back for a moment, trying to keep up my work. DC I saw you on Facebook.
yes, i'm on facebook, too, which i actually use, if not to its fullest.
yes, dc, me too, except 39 is more like 100 degrees
I have just discovered Facebook. It is rather a good timewaster.
~51= 100, as 100 = 212.
indeed so, red :)
But I did get in touch with a very close friend from College, and its neat to see photos of his kiddos and such.
dc, if you do the calculations, it's not that direct, there's a website that does it for you: http://www.csgnetwork.com/tempconvjava .html
dc, if you do the calculations, it's not that direct, there's a website that does it for you: http://www.csgnetwork.com/tempconvjava .html
sorry about the double - I just did it and they say that 39C = 102 F !!
39 c is 102 ish. We do temps in celcius...
I do temps at national weather service
that's why I said I was glad I never figured that out while I was there - it wasn't until I came home that I found out why they say only mad dogs and Englishment (and American tourists) are out in the midday sun
huh. my bad. i've worked mostly in C in my life, and had little need for conversion, so i guess i mapped wrong early. :)
a friend originally from NYC complained to me one day that her then-8-yr-old son never went and ran around during the day, like she did when young. I explained that it's too hot for that, and that we played school and hotel and what so we didn't have to move until very late in the day.
it befuddled her that children would be that impacted by the heat and humidity. LOL
Did she play in NYC?
hmm, another sign of global warming ? children can't play outside anymore?
JBV, I think it depends on the kids. Kids here play outside, and klids in NC definitely are out in my neighbourhood, playing Bball...
yes, red, in brooklyn
good morning...I made a deal w/myself that if it was over 200 I wouldn't do the grid today (yesterday's was too hard!) but...I do see lots of S's.....as in plural....what to do, what to do
WOnder if she didnt go to the parks?
jbv, we were lackadaisical about playing mid-day 30 years ago
so is this grid worth starting?....i still have not bothered to start
I am at 139 Asg...it is a bit difficult after that for me. I have 74 left...
well, two s's - lots of t's
the grid is very easy, AsG
there are lots of very nice parks in NYC where children can play...I was a park and street kid myself, lo these many years ago
lol carlee - that's my question! good morning
i'm from the generation where our moms sent us out in the a.m. and we didn't home until we were hungry or it was dark
jump in, green
BabbleRabble, have YOU ever met a hard grid? :)
they are ALL worth starting, the question is do we finish them?
jvb..my kids...fortunately... are able to do that where we live
don't think so
the first 100 or so aren't bad - after that it slowed down - went to lickety with 100 to go
morning green...
hey green
hey, annie - I'm an Astoria Park girl, myself - great pool for swimming (at least then it was)
hey carlee
I figured! :) ****oh to be like BR****
i'm halfway, only in 30 min
hey kje
and lots of chatting :)
My Grandma (90 yrs) grew up in Grammercy Park, back in the day.
hi nance
i m new here...
i'm going through pics...am going to have to hook up old cpu and sort through more pics.... hubby complaining we no longer have pics up in the house of family...soooo
that's great Carlee - it's a true way to experience childhood - without too much structure in the play
jbv...and Pitt St. pool was fun and huge
I expect in a couple of years with diligence I could get good at this
ooooo so tempting.....ok, um, here we go I guess....
printer is ur friend, carlee :)
hey & welcome sz
chocolat almond croisants are a happy.
it is great...we have a crap house but amazing neighbourhood
welcome sz!
wow, bad spelling
( neighbour's printer is my friend dc...but yep )

hey ardilla
njoy, carlee.
thanksfully am done those for yet 1 more year
ttfn *poof*
my kids play outside a lot - and even ring doorbells to see who can come out and play - it's very 50sish here
mornin babblers!
we do the same ( I didn't poof fast enough )
morning eva
huh. the black thing on the floor looks like a bee my cat killed. at least she didn't eat it.
morning, eva!
only here they don't bother ringing doorbells...its a knock and walk neighbourhood...as in walk IN
hi eva

mildly random query: Do any of you play Ticket To Ride?
not me - what is it?
natted
PB - not a word anyway - sorry
I tried that one as well nance :-)
no pb if it's not a word - nice try though (made me try it)
lol
Ticket to Ride is a board game in which the players build train routes.
afternoon all :-)
hey katie
sounds exciting dc - lol
hi, katie!
sounds mathematical
did time change there this week, or is it next, katie?
I think it is this weekend dc, really must check!!
TTR isn't mathematical. One collects cards to place littel train cars on bits to connect cities.
90 left
ah, ty katie. The early change here has thrown me off relative to europe. 4h to Britain is odd.
156 left
65 left and I'm off for a bit
****thinking I should have given myself the break!*****
is it a children's game
162 for me
jbv, we've played with people from 9 to 80. So long as the youngin has an attention span, they can play.

As...think halo
cooted isn't a word?
ahhh..ok..im kinda wondering if my looking up and down from the keyboard to screen is whats slowing me down on scramble
ummmm ?????? :)
might i ask why you asked?
oh! dunno, ro. mayhap.
green, au---sometimes you see this before a migrane
praps its something i oughta start practicing
how many letters?
AS 4 and the plural

i finally am, thank you.
the thingie that closes and opens the door in my car makes this awful sound..going to get it fixed today and finally get a new hubcap to replace the one I lost when I had a blowout
cool, annie. glad the hubcab was all you lost in the blowout
thanks annie
well, I have at least one word from every tile except the o in the 2nd row...
quite a few of the longer words end in calypso's cous****
dc, my first blowout and it was frightening..had it in front of a hospital too...Triple A came quickly and had the card towed
i'm taking a break for a bit. i can't seem to find any words - bbl - y'all be sweet

Morning all. I think I discovered a new species in this grid. Albatoad.
hi judi!
hi Judi - um, I think you have to start the am in the pb?
(just for the last part of your word)
judi>>>>>>>off you go to the PB
the front part was a word too
work of the grim reaper
Yes, I see that now. The migraine medicine is affecting my perception. Sin bin for 2 minutes for me.
hello, my fellow Babblers, please tell me that this gird is friendlier than yesterdays
judi, there is chocolate and tea in the PB for you
hi pab...dont think so
pab, they convinced me to jump in - so.....go for it!
this grid is so easy it almost finishes itself
Babble - you kill me
Ah, hence the "sin" in sin bin, Annie.
lol - ok, with that - I'm off (btw, haven't opened the list yet for those keeping track)....I have stuff to do - will see y'all later!
to 7 --- high wind storm, abbr, and marquis de ****
BR... I am giving you my last 96 to finish
okay, will gird my loins and my brain
later, green
that was a great clue
all of BR's clues are great
I am buttering you up, BR
y, they are, even with the smug "it's easy today"....
to 7 -- capable of being borne
140 left...so actually, it'll just be like a fresh start to a "regular" grid when I return
BR is trying "smug" but Atalante beats him
in really all of the grids are extremely difficult for me
HAH!
***doesn't believe BR for a minute!****
gtg - friend picking me up in 5 - must hide all evidence of addiction
good morning
BR, how long did it take you to finish this grid?
hi flosey!

BR, you are a wonder!
BR, you are a wonder!

it's a happy grid today, angela
I'm stuck on last few words
wonderful! good to hear DC
ot 4 and 5 ot** von bismarck and plural
tyvm for the o clues 74 to go
yw
i always expect the set of 8 to be an octet. Too many years in chamber groups, apparently.
I looked for that one also dc - it does come to mind first
ra7 - something that can be ranked is ra7
ty dc
thanks for the o's
ty dc
orrae
ty, sandr
there are only 14 letters in this grid - kinda cool
yay! the textbook i ordered for my classmate is arriving today, as promised.
woo hoo - what is the subject dc
arabic, angela.
don't get that ra7 clue, little more help please
he didn't order the 2nd book, which we're starting tonight.

bl5y eyed
ah, cr5/16, a bane of my childhood
okay, my brain must not have recovered from yesterday, all I can do is look at those cluse and laugh
the crustacean DC?
my cr5/16 was a comment, not a clue ;)
pab trek - ra 7 - ra + ta 5 (dining room ***** and chairs)
ra7 ra+ set the ***** for dinner please, and use the plates
yes angela, i hate eating them, but we ate a lot of them growing up. back then, you could walk to the corner of the main road, and there was a truck, selling them and shrimp by the bushel. usually $2 for the cr5/16 and half that for the shrimp.
ah, much better clue crpw
oh man, duh, thanks JBV and crp
song sung blue, everybody needs one....
yw
took me a while too pabtrek, was looking at the wrong ra
you don't like them dc I loved them - they are one of the things I miss about the Chesapeake region!
they are much more expensive today, as there aren't as many to harvest, espcially in the Maryland parts of the bay.
I'm heading back to bed, too bl***y eyed to see this grid
sound yummy to me DC :)
rest well, flosey
this is something that I don't get - why can we have an English plural for ta 8/55 but not for ba 6/27
I think the last time I bought them - last spring - we paid laround 80/dozen for the jumbos - ouch
agree JBV - I tried that too
maybe we took te ta into English earlier, so it naturalised?
coated with lots of Old Bay and served with fresh eastern shore corn - nothing better in the summer
ever go to a clam back - dig a hole in the sand, put hot rocks, then layer seaweed, cr5 and corn, cover with sand, late roast while you play and swim, then dig it all up and eat?
been to clam bakes...
we used to spend summers on Long Island - did that every year, dc

I believe I actually have a tooth ache. Not so pleasant and I am hoping its a wierd sinus problem instead.

ungood, red. i hope it is merely a sinus thing.
awww thats doesnt feel at all good red hope it stops hurting soon
deal
oh phooey sorry ww
i never had one before, so I suppose I shoud go to the dentist, but I need to wait until I am covered again.
ungood is the word.
how long is that red?
if you're gonna type words in, give me the first co 5/12 : )
A week or two at most. I also think it may just go away...
aren't you flying soon too rth?
we always hope that don't we - worst patients - anyone in the health profession : )
No lots of driving next week, I never fly the dog...too risky for poor guy.
sorry i try to do words y'all need next time hehe
Well, lets hope it does go away.
co + what the sun does to your skin
I hate having any work done on teeth because my mouth doesn't open very wide.
oh! I remember you saying you were headed east...thought you were flying...which can be uncomfortable with a sinus thingy
terra co5/12
c's done - thanks!
yw
i'm a bit out of it today. i wonder what's wit hthat
yes. I can not wait. I think if I took a bit of motrin, I might feel better.
worth a shot then...
hit it with 800 red
but I find I am very allergic to this juniper polen, so that could be it too, but I have not been to dentist in a few years so I imagine I am pushing my luck.
Well, either way i will live through this.
I would say so red - never a bad thing to check the pearly whites
I have to go every 6 mos for a cleaning or else I end up with something wrong...
I need to go but I just really hate to try to hold mouth open for so long.
We shall wee.
just fyi: I am going to be getting a paid webhost soon, and will be moving the resource guide and my other web projects to my own website.
errr,. See, not wee, though I am sure we shall wee too.
have you tried taking the advil before you go? that helps me
did you really mean wee - that is funny
Angela I have to take Advil and benadry, but its more that my mouth really opens narrowly, and my jaw gets sore.
that's a classic freudian slip, red - you just need to find the right dentist -
makes me hafta
No kje!!! typo!!!!
Sorry Angela!
:( don't blame you for not wanting to go then!
very cute & funny rth :)
someone with the right chair-side manner will make it a little better
well. it just started to be painful last night, and perhaps it is the sinus....
I'm lucky - my dentist is REALLY cute. Makes it not as bad :)
LOL angela.
LOL, Angela - whatever works
hubby has told me that he thinks I chew lifesavers on purpose just to break my filings :)
this grid is just killing me and its ranked 4.7 so kindof easy right? 68 left.
angela, that just happened this week to my husband - chewing on ice cubes, broke a cap!
LOL angela
lol jbv!!
but we have a dentist we love - sees us right away in an emergency, lots of TLC when you're in the chair
my sister was in a mental health unit because she kepot trying to ci=ommit suicide. A filling fell out and she was sent across to the dental school - she made a date with the dentist and has been happily married to him for 35 years now - no further problems!!
brb - have to weeeeeeeee
:)
not sure I'd want my dentist too cute - pretty sure plastic thing hodling mouth open and lips splayed is not a sexy look for me

hello nance... and bye *sending healhty thoughts&
good evening everyone
hello orange cat! how was your day?
clue for the 8 plz
sorry movieman, not up to the list yet (only have 3 7s so far)
we saw the Horton Hears a Who movie.... it was nice. NOT completely dumbed down, which was a bit of a novelty considered it had a G rating! I loved it.
several banged knees and we're still teething. had a good time digging at the beach and feeding fish. they're off for the evening visit to grandparents
I saw Spiderwick and 10,000 B.C. yesterday.....both pretty good movies I thought
how nice to have grandparents close enough for that. :-) teething is SO hard on parents!
i'm hoping the Horton thing comes here soon. i'm getting sick of this penguin dvd!
My kid wants to see those, also. I think the 10,000 BC movie would probably be best on the big screen, but am hoping we can put off spiderwick until we can get it from the netflix
I think you'll like it orange, there are some funny references to adult/pop culture that don't interfere with the story line, but certainly gave the adults a giggle.
MM, ta8 french for picture plural
hmph. up to 100 words, but slowing down a lot. hello pabtrek!
thanks for the 8!
ty pab......*looks up 'picture' in online French dictionary*
hi all :)
movieman, sorta builds off the platform you put plates and things on to eat supper.
hey atalante!
stiddy? how long would it take to drive from seattle up to vancouver?
hey OrangeCat, my 20 yr. old daughter college student) was just offered an internship in Athens this summer and we are hoping to be ale to go visit her there. Any recommendations for what we should definitely try to see? Should we try to go to the islands?
they all like the dr seuss books. the 1fish 2 fish one is their favorite
got the 8 (and a 7)......ty all
B.C.? I think I would allow five hours (border crossing, not sure how fast it goes) I think the actual drive is probably about three and a half or four hours. Hold on, I'll check...
athens is a great city but big and dirty. 4days max. then u should hit Crete or Rhodes
yw
in athens definately check the parthenon and the outdoor antique markets
my husband has a strange idea to drive up from Seattle to Banff / Calgary area
thx, do they have ferries to get you there, or would we need to book something beforehand?
I think that's about right -- it's what I would allow from seattle, but I tend to like to get places early, rather than late.
u can jump on ferries really easy. best to book when u get there. flights are often and cheap too
oh -- I went to Banff about 30 years ago. Beautiful place. Calgary felt like a cow town still, though it was a city... not sure what it's like now.
the ferry from athens to crete is an overnite thing. same for rhodes
and when, atalante? we could maybe meet up briefly while you were in seattle...
ok, thx. what about santorini or myknos?
You might like it better to fly to Vancouver or Calgary directly? Or is Seattle really part of the destination?
we went to banff a few years ago in the winter, he now wants to see it in the summer. and we're going to be in portland in august so somehow I need to combine everything. 2nd week of August is around Seattle I think. I'm actually going to be in Oregon all month, but most of the time preparing for Dragon*Con and stuff
santorini is a tourist trap. very beautiful, but not a whole lot to see or do other than eat and shop. there is a nice day trip to the volcano. santorini i'd say 2 days max unless you're into non stop shopping and eating. not much else there. mykanos is more or less the same, but it's a bigger place so there's more shopping and eating
satan not a word?
oooh! ooooh! I am stuck in Washington in August (kid is in a summer play). I know you will be focused, but... if you're driving up from Portland anyway, we really are pretty much on the way, and a good stopping point on the way to Seattle (about two 1/2 - three hours north of portland, seattle is another hour further)
team- its a proper name
I know, team! I tried that several times already!
I think it's a proper noun.
definitely!
i never knew the devil to be proper!
LOL team!
well there you go
now see, devil would be a word.
need one more R from fourth row - have ru4,6, ra4,4 and ra6,21
agreed!
we are not big shoppers, and eating is not a major priority although I do enjoy trying new foods, so it sounds like we could probaly avoid the more touristy places. What about traveling to other places in Greece (not the islands)?
okay atalante... let me know when you have plans firmed up. *starts cleaning house frantically*
when is it you're coming?
July
i will do!
sorry deb, I am completely confused by that corner myself!
depends on your tolerance to heat
deb- ra** and rave?
not sure of the exact dates yet. my daughter will be there from June 1 to Aug. 2
have that nb:)
oooooh hot!
woot! down to 100 *proud mama look* off to try to find something that will stay down. tummy is being very very peculiar today.
southern islands get reallllly hot. crete will be 45+. northern areas cooler. mainland to the south and west of athens really really pretty and not terribly touristic. some areas still badly damaged becuz of the big fires last year tho
i prefer hot to cold, but I'm no longer a sun worshiper (thanks to melanoma).
is it wise to rent a car and travel around mainland?
greek drivers maniacs! but car rentals are cheap and its a ton of fun to find the back roads and see the smaller villages
the islands of kos and samos are also great choices. rhodes is amazing
another really nice island which is close to athens is Andros.
do I need to be worried about my daughter living in Athens for 2 months? (she would kill me if she knew I was asking that question)
the norther area of thessalonkiki is great. that's sort of on the way to turkey
if my husband manged it as a student, anyone can!
thx, Ata, I need reassurance!
not at all. a woman can walk around completely safe. of course, there are bad areas but that's just common sense
he is completely clueless and managed to stay there unscathed!
haha, sounds encouraging
she will be living in the Kolonaki section
Done!! any clues needed?
i see a ta6/18 that i can add the ending ab4 to it and make a 10 letter word that makes sense but must not be in the dictionary.
alot of students there i think. i dont know athens all that well. i can find the IKEA and the Starbucks and that's about it. my husband is the guy to ask. he's a policeman and spends alot of time in athens
aha! if she has a connection to a policeman in athens, that should make you happier, sassy!
well, I REALLY appreciate all the info you've given me, and I will def use your suggestions when planning our trip.
any time..glad to help. i know i was really overwhelmed when i first moved to greece.
yes, that does help, Ata. I hate being a worrier, but I just can't help myself.
he's not a policeman in athens. he goes to the criminal courts there for trials
hopefully not too many!!
I used to accidentally forget to tell my mother all the dangers of the places I went to. I'd tell my step-dad, so he knew the real picture!
oh me too, why do you think I worry so much!!
same here, ata--when I lived in France and hitched all over the place with friends!
I'll always remember coming back from the Philippines and telling her that actually yes, we were up the road from (what was in the news then) some pirates going onshore and beheading people
mother was unimpressed!
:-D
oh dear....
help with the u's ??
so compared to that, I think she's fairly safe, sassy ;)
ur4 part of a constellation
i still haven't told my mom most of the "adventures" i've had over the years
ur5 latin plural
ooooh tell *us*!
oh, I would never tell my mom EVERYTHING! LOL
yes, I believeyou're right, Ata. Hopefully no beheadings in Athens!!
no beheadings in athens :-) lots of pickpockets tho
meeting friends from out of town for lunch--BBL
uhoh, i'll have to warn her about that
I would always tell my step-father everything I knew beforehand, cos I did end up in some fairly "interesting" places. But he was always fine with it, and wouldn't tell mum!
big problem here with gypsies.
talking of dodgy places - guess what the average life expectancy is for a woman in Zimbabwe now? (just saw this on the news)
that was good, Ata. I don't know if my daughter tells my husband things that she doesn't tell me, but he certainly never seems to worrry as much as I do.
she probably does then!!
i'll guess 55, Ata
30?
hi FM!
Hi all
34. Isn't that awful?
and 37 for men
are the gypsies confrontational, Orange, or just anoying?
I hoped I would be way out on my guess.
nope *sigh*
yes, horible, Ata
makes me want to run round and scream a lot in frustration
I am very fed up with that block of Ts, they are taunting and tormenting me.
tsk!
gypsies just lurk around watching for opportunities to grab whatever. and don't fall for the 'sick children' routine. the gypsies dope up their kids with cough meds and make them look ill and then lay around with their hands out. it's an act.
are they actual gypsies?
if they spot u watching them, they'll follow u around begging. best thing to do is ignore them
yes. the real deal. mostly from romania. some from albania. the romanian ones are the worst. albanians just trying to get by. romanian ones cunning
good to know, Orange. She goes to college in a town with a lot of homeless people, so I think she's become pretty adept at ignoring the begging. But she prob doesn't have much experience with actual pickpockets (except for our visit to Italy 2 years ago), so I'll have to warn her to be very careful about that.
surprised there;s any albanians left in albania lol
i think most of them are here ata
yes - and not to give in to any sob stories however awful they seem
there's a lot here too!
some of them look really pathetic. the tourists are generally horrified when they see these scrawny sick looking small kids. but it's an act
Pickpockets are all over every big town or city and tourist areas the wold over, you just need to be aware and astute and don't flash money, mobles passports etc arouond. All common sense stuff really.
and I guess if the kids are raised that way, the problem just persists indefinitely. pretty sad
Im stuck on another easy one -I expect!- sa5.10 the one before to fill up
spanish for male saint
Start with the s in the bottom left
Doh - bottom right
Ata what did you think of The Apprentice last night?
Good afternoon.
Haz!! Spangle!!
(Oh good, Apprentice talk)
Good afternoon Haz :)
It's us! We're here!
oh pffft they are all stereotypes, Alan Sugar would do better with some real people!
Did you watch it?
Raef is the new Tre.
but it was very very funny watching them not be able to identify fish
I would have done soooo well in that task
and selling lobsters for £5!
loool smugness would have filled the street
thanks FM I am thinking very slowly today finally got it!!
You could have sold smug instead of fish!
Fish are my best Speciality
Couldnt decide which I disliked most Raef or the one that got the bullet!!
The boys (well you can't call them men) are so wet behind the ears, ego inflated twerps
haha so you watched it, FM?
If they were selling conceit they'de have made a fortune
oh I like Raef, he's such a twit
Might have done
I thought it was very funny when Michael turned all sensitive for not having been selected for praise.
hi all
Raef's hair is interesting.
hi robin
yes, very
husband and trips back.. time for bath/bed. ttfn
Wimps the lot of them
loooool you'll be hooked now! just to see the egos deflate
I bet there isn't one chest hair between the lat!
*lot
I know two tone hair is in, but brown on black?
hi Tones
Pink beret woman should be watched.
I loved watching them all skate around the edges of saying it was the lads vs the posh boys
yes, she *should*
By Orange and Hi Tones and robin
The cultured versus the riff-raff/hoi polloi?
why did I start this thing>?,,i JUST started.>WHY...WHY?!?!?!?!

I'm trying to work in a poetry clue....
Oh thank you carlee I got it from that.
Or a Fleetwood Mac song.
I think it's time for the list
Raef: He includes spending time with his girlfriend, acting, lawn tennis, antiquarian book collecting and cognac among his interests.
I'd just take a baseball bat to him and be done with it.
he has a girlfriend? a real breathing one?
who are we taking a baseball bat to?
apparently!
isn't the past tense of ab4/6 a word?
"I am a terrific conversationalist and raconteur with stories to tell..."
Raef, one of the new Apprentices (Brit version)
apprentices for what?
Knuckledusters to accompany the baseball bat....
*waves flag* weren't there some girls in it too?
Apprentice to Donald 'I have the weirdest hairstyle in the world' Trump in the USA, Apprentice to Sir Alan 'I'm a diamond in the rough' Sugar in Britain.
carlee its a reality TV show, where the winner gets to work for a tycoon/entrepreneur
but they weren't as funny!
ahhhh...ok..I don't watch either of them..the only reality tv show we watch is idol
They get tasks to do - they start off the series claiming they're God's gift to business, then quickly make fools of themselves.
Can't wait to see the best saleswoman in europe in action (yea right)
Lucinda is the one in the pink beret. And there's an Irish woman who claims to be the best salesperson in Europe. Yeah, right.
oh she's awful
Jannifer is the Saleswoman: ""I can sell anything. I can sell pieces of paper for £50 and making a living out of it."
hi Haz1558
phone brb
Which one is awful - Irish one or Lucinda (pink beret?) Or Redundant question since they are both pitiful.
seriously? Jannifer?
sorry. Jennifer!
ok good...cause that's my name and if she was spelling it Jannifer, that would just be...awful
back from lunch - how is everyone?
I think the International Car Saleswoman is fairly awful too
sorry rae!
it's ok!!!
Internatyional car woman: ""I’m a true example of pure class and elegance. I don’t try to be glamorous – I'm just naturally like that.""
Is that the Asian girl who plans to thrash everyone?
yep!
carlee: http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/candid ates.html
I assume they must be bribed to say all this stuff about themselves. They can't be serious, can they?

But wouldn't you think somebody would have deflated their ego before now?
hi angela
bird like creature lives in a cave and french ending
ba6 - French boat.
hi robin
ah ha, the boat - thanks! tx Ang too
no. people like that wouldnt believe it if you told them they were plain stupid. they always go away muttering that its Alan's loss that he hasnt hired them
No not if you think about Anthony whose only failiure was getting a B in French
I didn't know the meaning so that's all I could think of :)
HI HAZ1558
ahahahahahahaha yes oh my. that was amusing
Poor love. Getting a b in French.
I got a B in art once *sadness*
I SAID HI HAZ1558
flunked all 4 semesters in Spanish one year...
It's not the French that annoys me, it's the fact that he's got a lot of growing up to do. Life throws a lot worse at you than a B in French.
but I had a GORGEOUS boyfriend - so things even out
I have never pfft so much at a TV show nor been quite so gobsmaked for so long.
and now look at you Ang! :)
robin perhaps if you stop shouting she might respond when she has finished her converstaion.
a's done, b's done

Oooh, Sting. You name-dropper, you.
VERY cool
ooooooooo!
crap my rotl not in the grid
Ata log has gone laggy
yes, it was very cool - couldn't have planned it if I tried. Hubby LOVES Sting too, so it was awesome. OK - need to jump - see y'all later!
Bye As.
my dad met Martin Landau two weeks ago while having breakfast...that's all I've got for famous sightings
Haz's friends hat was on the head of someone who met the ween last week. Did I tell that right Haz?
I thought the hat met the Queen but maybe the ween was there in some capacity.
My sister-in-law lent a hat to a friend whose mother was being presented to the Queen. We're getting a plinth made.
For the mother or the hat?
Ah well those who ahve met her know its ok to call her the ween
Vi!!!
For the hat, Vicuna. We're wondering whether it would be tacky to take money in order to view. What do you think?
£5 per view. £10 to touch it
And hello, by the way!
My children were the recipients of "the James Taylor hats" when they were born. Apparently the singer James Taylor has twins, and they were handed down, through 2 intermediary sets of twins, to ours. That's my famous hat tale.
That's more than they were charging for a lobster...
Hello!
Hi, all....Stidmama, are you here?
Touching only if wearing white cotton gloves, of course.
perhaps £15 for touching the hat plus a lobster
The hats were handed down, I mean, not the singer's kids.
Did I ever tell you the story of the headmistress and the hat?
15 for touching a lobster? That seems a bit steep, even with a hat involved.
Oh great! story time with HAz *settles down*
No, £15 for touching the hat and a lobster thrown in as well.
Oh, I hope it's quick, though! I have only 10 minutes!
Shhhhh
is liam neeson involved?
Okay, the story of the headmistress and the hat.
Preceded by the story of the headmistress and the slip.
*squirms impatiently*
Sister-in-law was on a school cruise with headmistress - a single woman who lived with her mother and two sisters, the mother being very much in charge.
Headmistress couldn't find her slip. Chaos ensued - people accused of theft, she was sure that someone had fashioned some sort of implement to reach in and steal it.
*types some words in for Vi to help her along*
Must have been some slip!
she only brought 1 slip for a whole cruise?
perhaps it was edged with lobsters
Finally it was found. The steward had put it under her pillow, thinking it was her nightdress. What worried the headmistress most (and bear in mind that she was in her fifties at this point) was that her mother had packed her case, the slip was new and HOW WOULD SHE EXPLAIN TO HER MOTHER?
And had been to visit the ween.
OMG!
Poor creature.
Okay, so now for the headmistress and the hat?
This same headmistress (think browbeaten etc) had bought a new hat and coat. However, the hat was just a shade away from absolutely matching the coat. The solution was to put the hat in the front window, turning it at intervals to make sure that it faded evenly.
it was hidden under the slip?
She actually told this with great glee, thinking how clever they all were. It was so sad.
A bold and risky plan.
As long as she didn't hang the new slip in the front window, as well.
It was a good idea in theory but as it rained everyday for the next 2 months she was foiled
so clever! did she take equal delight in putting baked beans on a plate in neat rows?
I don't think so. I think she nearly had the vapours at the thought of a man having handled her slip.
i bet it was washed 10 times before wearing
the apprentices couldn't have done any better
I'm not sure how long the process took (for the fading of the hat) but it must have worked.
But after it's faded just right, can she then wear it only on cloudy days, lest it fade too far?
It was just terribly sad that this woman, who had a responsible job,was kept so much under the thumb by a tyrannical mother.
looool good point vi
he slip story reminds me of a cute story about a man who tells his wife he's going on a fishing trip, but she's a little suspicious of his recent behavior. When he gets home she asks if he had a good time and he says yes, but he hadn't caught any fish. He also tells her she had forgotten to pack his pajamas, and she smiles sweetly a him and says "oh, really, I did pack them, they were your tackle box
Hard to have confidence in her headmistressing when she isn't even her own mistress.
if only her students knew ...
Oh dear, sassy!
(Poor cat has just made herself supremely comfortable on my lap, all unaware that in just 3 short minutes she will have to be evicted.)
I have a lap going free if you want to pass her over here Vi
awwwwww poor babe
Are you going to leap up without warning or will you ease her off gently?
*with a burst of superhuman strength, heaves the cat clear across the Atlantic* mrowwwr!
Ahem, have you got a pet passport for said feline?
Watch out for the claws, there, FM!
Rules is rules.
Urff, .. aaand caught, ouch ouch, settle down now.
I say she is adept with the keyboard Vi
pet passports domt apply trans-atlantic
Pet? Passport? It's a fur hat -- see, it's landed on FM's head.
Turns hat around so taill hangs down my back.
You look just like Daniel Boone.
FMitch Crockett.
Watch out for fading, though.
don't wear it in the sun too much.
(Sun -sun?)
Alas, must scamper to school to meet the darlings. A friend is coming home with them, too, so when I next log on, I apologize for shrieks of laughter in the background.
Don't worry, FM, I don't mind if she comes back a cream-colored cat. I mean hat.
We'll just turn down the volume, Vicuna.
LOL TTFN Vi
Byeeee!
Bye Vi.
I should go as well - dinner time soon. It was good to have a chat! Bye for now.
Great British menus is covering N.Ireland this evening. Didn't know you were competing Haz :)
bye haz
Oh, I'd forgotten about the British menu thing. I wonder who they've got? See you later!
Byeee
thank goodness for pet passports it means our pooch can come to USA with us
Do dogs suffer from jet lag I wonder?
its not so much the jet lag it is his change of accent when he gets there that bothers me
good question, FMitch.. need to ask Haz's hubby... hi all!
hi alo
lol jmh
hi aloy
LOL JM Hello Aloy, good to see you.
happy to be here.. its Babble Time!
Its a good grid today, you zom along through most of it and then Wham! brick wall time.
JMH - you need to keep his rabies jabs up to date or else he won't be allowed back in
I have got just 5 mins to pop in and say hi.......
FM I have definitely hit the brick wall!
Tic toc, Evening cait
well, I babbled earlier this morning.. have 38 left. Funny thing happened.. when I logged back on, all my words in the list were gone, easily retrievable tho..
hi, caitlyn!
Ata It is a bit of a minefield but he has done the journey about 6 times now so even he knows what he needs!
Had a great afternoon, went to see Gary Wilmot in Half a sixpence.....he was brilliant in it
hi cait
ohhhhh! in that case, you can advise me of everything I'll need to do when I take Hobbit over to the US!
66 left here and they eyes are going wonky
Sounds like a good way to spend the afternoon cait
Ata the going over is ok , its the coming back in to UK that is the most difficult bit
the t's all together can wonky your eyeballs for sure
does your dog seem phased by the trip?
I've actually missed some very simple 4 ltr words looking for the biggies...
Definately Aloy and I am missing 2 of the little blighters
lol, i missed the FISH, co4.6
not up till now although he is getting older, he is 8 now. But even though he is in his cage for 10hours in total he is happy and bright when he gets out.
hi all, having a large problem with expert. list is from yesterday alongside today's grid. i have refreshed a zillion times new list comes up for a second then reverts back to yesterdays. i have also closed page & then re entered -no joy. any suggestions?

I don't use expert either beth
Ata happy to help . If you can fly virgin they are far more pet friendly than BA.
h'mm... interesting, bethn.. i finished every grid but found, when I checked the ratings one day that i had an unfinished grid from a while back... so i dunno what happened, and this morning's list disappeared, as i just mentioned.. but i have it back
its something I'm likely to have to do in the next year or so, its so good to know someone that does it as a matter of course!
so, now i am going to list my LAST word each day in the chat, just to have a record..
the pet passport is cute, he has his photo in it!!!that cracks me up I always have visions of the immigration officersin us checking him against his picture lol
maybe some words get lost in cyberspace?
hi again - i'm back again for the last 49 - does anyone have a clue for the al 6 and 7 - keep seeing al**core - but it's just a phantom
al + baseball club + start of the alphabet, JBV
same thing happened to me earlier aloy, words dissappeared, was able to retrieve them but hadn't tried to access the list at that point. i should have realized there was a problem all added words showed "yellow " in box not green

Hello again, all!
Can I have my cat back now, FM? I mean hat. I hope she behaved herself.
hello Vi! how's you? how's kids?
Everyone dandy here, thanks, stidmama. Is everyone in full health in the stidhouse?
Oh if you must Vi she has been a pleasure to look after. Get ready to catch ... *Flying Cat alert*
Ow! Thanks.
all healthy -- more here than usual. in addition to pet-sitting a bearded lizard, two degus and about 12 mice (four adults and many babies), we just adopted a soft-shelled turtle!
And right on cue she jumped onto my lap! lol
*holding hands to e4* owie... next time let me get my plugs in before cat screeches!
You can have Sily for a bit, she's running round like a psycho creature
just a side note - when you throw someone's ashes into the ocean - isn't that deurn?
Lol how funny! pootles off to google to find out what a degus is
LOL angela!
degu: think chinchilla with a tuft at the end of the tail...
I had to go look up degu, myself.

No no, tr6/21. *starts search over again*
What did you do to deserve that, Ata?
cats are one critter I love and avoid from allergies... I can tolerate them, but Mother swells up and gets a rash. :-(
oh, 6/21! much easier (I hope)
I don't know. I think I looked at her ...
Bye everyone - almost time for me to leave the lawyers. I'm sure I'll be on later to try and finish.

you hope you'll commit suicide? i'm ok.
i was going to say that hurshy but i offended someone last week with a similar comment :)
oooh you can join me in the fat marker club!
what is the fat marker club?
it is a club for people with fat marker syndrome
need more info
so far i'm the only member
does that mean we get to be officers... ie power wielders?!?
*picturing hurshy wandering around with a big fat Sharpie marker in her hand*
in college my two best friends always knew the right thing to say and i did not, and i analogized that they were like fine tipped markers who stay in the lines, whereas i was like a fat marker that couldn't.
monkey was throwing boogers i was terribly offended! she can join too
tattletale!
i dunno if throwing boogers counts. it's not about offending people per se, it's about saying things you don't realize will be offensive
i cant help myself!
or rude, or just taken the wrong way, or whatever
hurshy, i would love to be a fat marker
there is a lot of that going on in the log from what i have seen
i mean, i already AM! i mean i'd love to be in the club
really? i hate being a fat marker.
oh, well if you already are, then, welcome to the club!
let's start a Fat Marker Group on Facebook
let's embrace our fat-markedness
lol
people take everything too seriously,, we are all just playing & typing off the tops of our heads.
i have been told many times my sense of humor can be offensive... i'm with you bethn, let's not take everything so SERIOUSLY
i am offended by the use of the term fat couldnt we call it big boned marker club?
markers don't have bones
LOL!!!!!!
how about the weight-challenged marker club?
Hello! :)
hi carra!
it's been fat marker syndrome for 10 years, you can't just change it now
as due to recxent illness/ injury my bones seem to have gotten much larger than ever before in hitory, i am rather sensitive o the issue
Hi Lil Monkey!

LOL chrissie
I'll have to run out to Penneys this weekend and get some, MOM

oh do, they are darling. I tried to remember the brand but I forgot. Sorry
same here, chrissie.... i still look thin but i have this mystery basketball in the abdominal zone
they also have pirate socks
i remember thinking unkind thoughts about ladies wearing tank tops in dec. that highlighted bellies. god has a mean sen se of humour

I am with you Chrissie and Lil Monkey
i have wicked hot flashes! BF can feel the heat wave emanating from across the room... then he says OMG you are beet red
how old are yoou carra
hot flashes are cool!
(no pun intended)
22
i liked them at first , BDG, as I am cold-natured, but lately they are getting too intense!
i used a spray that worked wonders, i will try to find the name...i think it was trans mist or trans derma
lil my thermostat is a bit wonky but the worst thing is facial hair !!!
keep plenty of cold water on hand, monkey
actually i think ive been losing weight b/c ive stopped eating like 3 bars of a candy ( a day) lol

carra, wait till the nasty 50 arrives
i have tweezwers in every room of the house just in case one sprouts as i go between rooms
i'll have to read that hurshy... i don't want to take hormone drugs
It is posted on his website, have been taking the stuff for years. It has helped me greatly
lol, me too bethn
oh me too, i just starting getting waxed to combat it
i have a question. does menopause like, just keep on going, or do you eventually stop having hot flashes and things?
yes monkey, tou rotated where you sprayed it, fore arm thigh different place daily for 3 weeks then a few days off then start again. it was very helpful
thanks, MOM for the website info
http://drphil.com/articles/article/118 /
I dearly hope so hurshy

LOL italian
english for a silly billy i guess monkey!!
Je ne comprends pas
hard enough to speak engrish
daft bat
here we speak franglais
what term do you use in the US then?
for what, lindie?
no you speak canaglish just
some one who is a little silly
yeah so I guess now I'm quadlingual lol
depends on the gender and age, i guess
i guess you are!!
silly young blonde = airhead
can I put that on my resume?
2 beer shy of a six pack
it is a very polite way of saying you are very silly ( do silly things or say silly things)
not the sharpest knife in the drawer
oh we just say dumbass lind
sure you can just, as long as you don't say you are wearing a jumper or a zipper!!
elavator don't go all the way to the top
blockhead
oh that would do just!! but is it polite enough?
yeah monkey
do you know ian dury monkey?
just a jumper in english is a sweater
no lindie
and a zipper in english is a zip!!
that's what the quebecois call us english blockhead = tete carre
jealous that everyone is finished with this grid but me!
oh he coined the phrase blockhead
LOL
no italian i have 98 words left!!
ian dury and the blockheads!!
lindie get busy! get your 98 words!
it actually came from when the french and english were here back in the 1700's.....the english would put a bowl over their heads and have their hair cut!
are you coming early july just?
we call that a basin cut cos they put a basin on their heads just!!
oh i'm fading... must get to bed
fishing in July lind the 12 to 19th
we call it a bowl cut
aug when my sis's first grandchild will be born
no way monkey too busy chatting to my mates
only little boys have it
oh ok i am off sick til end of first week in july for def!!
LOL monkey
ignore this...i wanted to see if the additions to my previously barren profile appear
and the quebecois translated it from block or squarehead to tete carre (pronouced carray)
night everyone!
I refuse to set my keyboard to include the little french cidellas and whatevers
night monkey catch ya tomorrow twonk!!

Aaaaah, I still have 52 left, I am not paying attention.
aaawww
so red is that a pic of you?
so who is left here now?
i'm still here, but barely :)
it is all squished, but its me in Mancos Colorado abotu 2 weeks ago.
anyone?
oh cool
I'm here! Just arrived!
it looks warm!!
hi cord
still trying to finish, Lind
hi jandy, welcome
cool italian
LOL, it was freezing. Its just that its sunny. It is still snowing in some parts of colorado.
Hi Jandy.
Hi red, you look good in your namesake!
oh really, i just imagine it will be warm in the US as it is south of here!!
Hi Lind and thanks... not a snowball's chance of finishing this one! Shouldn't have gone to the movies last night!
Well, it was at freezing last night in Santa Fe.
I mean at the freezing mark, not just cold.
i will see everyone tomorrow night, i hope...going to snuggle with the pup and maybe the husband and go to bed :)
i still have 98 to find and will have when i go to bed real soon!!
It now gets warm during the day and very cold at night, but hey I have less than a week to live in the cold.
Bye Cordelia... happy snuggling!
104 for me...
nanight cord cya tomorrow
kiss that puppy for me cord
yeah but what time is it there jandy?
thanks jandy and lindrick :)
Is it that close, red! You can leave that toilet for ever!
Oh Yes, I can not wait, toiet, cold drafty house, etc.
It is 10 to 2 in the afternoon, lind... but duty calls me, cause I have to go the doctors and exciting stuff like that!
Have you got your new accommodation sorted, red?
LOL jandy it is 10.50pm here and i have to get up at 6.30am ):
Yes, company does all that, all I do is show up and get the key. But I picked the apt this time, much nicer.
Groan.... lind.... don't envy you!
me neither!!
Oh that's great red... I would much prefer to do that myself.. what's important to people in their accommodation is so different from person to person.
Is it dark at that time of the morning, Lind, and is it warming up? We are just getting really crisp evenings and mornings this past week...
Well, since i have to move so far, its easier to let them do it, but I did chose the apartment since it across the street from the gym, I dont get to chose furniture or stuff like that, but its tempoirary.
Jandy how is your hemoglobin situation...?
Sounds good. And you can still have your dog, I take it?
we have changed our clocks jandy so it is a little light and we are still snow covered at the moment!!
yes, dog comes with me....
Going for a blood test this afternoon, red... don't think it's as good as it was, cause the inevitable week of the month came round ..... so hoping I'm still in triple figures at least!
hope its good Jandy.
do you have a problem with your blood count jandy?
Lind, I grew up in Liverpool, and one of the hardest things to explain to native Aussies is the short days and the effect of the darkness... we just don't get it here.
Thanks red! Me too. I'm really bored with the whole thing now but don't dare ignore it, which is my usual strategy! LOL!
oh cool, i grew up in harrogate which is only 75 mins from liverpool
Much better than it was, Lind, but turns out I've been (really) anaemic for months and months.. wondered what was the matter with me!
oh how odd! i had depleted levels of vitamin B12 which is a different form of anaemia!!
I came to Aus as a kid with my family when I was 12 in 1970 (big birthday fast approaching) but still have lots of fond memories. Though I count myself as an Aussie through and through!
had to go for B12 shots
i have only been in canada almost 5 years!!
My grandfather had pernicious anaemia, which I think is that kind, but mine is much less glamourous! I got mine the gory way!
oh me too!!
gotta go, see you all tomorrow.
I am going in for surgery in May, so hopefully i will feel better after that
bye dawg...
bye dawg, sleep well!!
LOL, I'm booked in for the 22nd!!!!
of May, that is!!!!
jandy while my levels were low i contracted whooping cough, which i am still hacking away at
hysterectomy jandy?
Seems like everything knocks you around when your levels are down... every stupid thing sets me back
Yep!
me too!! fun eh
nevermind we can recover together in babble!!
I'm torn Lind, between the normal reluctance to have surgery and the party feeling of never having to think about it again!!!
i have no choice as my problem has caused other problems and they could become permenant if i don't get it sorted!!
Indeed we can! Because I travel so much for work (interstate most of the week, every week) I have been on sick leave for the past five weeks anyway, to give me a chance to recover BEFORE surgery, or they were threatening me with more transfusions...
I have a big advantage in that I work in surgical sales and for the past two years have worked in women's health.... so I'm a very educated consumer!
i have never had surgery before so it terrifies me frankly
i am working 50 hours a week until the friday before my surgery!!
i just wish i was male!!!
It's really routine surgery, Lind, one of the most often performed procedures with very low complication rates. Just make sure you have a good surgeon and anaesthetist...
Oh me too... though my prostate would probably just be starting to play up!
i have the best surgeon in the area jandy, i will have only one internal incission of about 1.5 inches, no external ones at all
My employers have been fantastic... I said I would go back to work last week, but they told me to stay home and get really well
i have a prolapse bladder and it is doing something to my liver at the moment and my uterus is the size of a 22 week foetus
Was going to ask... if it's laparoscopic, you will recover really, really quickly. I have to have an open...
it is great when you employers are understanding
but i have no incissions on the outside at all, no little ones for cameras, only internal
Yuk.... well dealt with now, Lind.. things like that just do not sort themselves out and only get more and more complex. And as you get older your recovery is slower... so doing it now makes perfect sense..
Oh, very intruiging, Lind... would like to know what the technical name of the procedure is...
yeah i will recover quicker, but cos of the corrective surgery i have to have the op is 3.5 hours long and i can't drive for 3 weeks and can't word for 6-8 weeks
erm, not sure, intra vaginal hysterectomy?
And that not lifting anything or straining or anything is VITAL to the success of prolapse surgery, so don't be tempted to push the boundaries!
*work
Well, I wish you sucess and a quick recovery! We can keep an eye on each other!
oh the only thing i will be lifting is this laptop onto my knee (as soon as is advisable) to play babble!!
yeah i hope yours goes well too
Yeah, LOL, sure you will be able to word! Your Babble rating will skyrocket!
have you had surgery before?
i never bother with ratings, i'm just here to have fun
are you on facebook jandy?
I had laparoscopic surgery for gallstones about two years ago... it was an absolute piece of cake. couldn't believe how well I did afterwards.
oh cool
And it was quite funny cause I knew all the nurses in the hospital, so I got my hand held, and the surgeon was holding up the boxes with our company's product in at the end of the bed as I went under, to prove they were using the right stuff on me!
I haven't got onto facebook, lind, but i should now I have more time.
well jot down my name now and when you join up you can find me
Linda Launchbury
And my only other advice from both a personal and technical perspective is to not be afraid of the pain killers and don't try and be a hero. You recover more quickly when your pain is well managed.
find me and send me an invite on facebook
That is funny Jandy. I need to focus on the grid I am distracted by Facebook and 43things and my blog today...
o
You agree about the pain killers, red?
i'll remember that jandy
Nurse Red, I should say?
Will do, Lind, my graphic designer son has just moved back into home for a few weeks (!) so he can give me the idiot's guide to facebook... another distraction, as red says!
yeah do
my son is doing computer science in university at the moment!!
Painkillers? I missed the thing to agree about, but sure why not.
how many kids do you have jandy?
not to be a hero after surgery!
I think I might give up on the grid, I have 48 left but I am tired.
I have two sons, Lind... the one back at home (they just broke up) is 26 this year and I have a son who is 28, married and just moved to Melbourne
I like your style, red... grin...
yes, everyone should use pain killers post surgery. As prescribed, not the haf dose. not some other idea that you have. This is what ends people up in the ER.
On the painkillers, that is, not the giving up!
i have 2 girls and a boy they are 25.22 & 18 and all moved out
Latey I dont care if I finish or not.
I thought it would be tragic, lind, but it just isn't!
Me neither, red.. enjoy the grids I finish, the grids I don't and the chat!
i still have 98 left red, i'm just enjoying the chat
what when they move out?
Yep.
I think I need to get some more sleep tomorro is big old pack clean and shop day and I am right now a bit hungry and tired.
so seep is the answer.
Bye all.
i did suffer from empty nest syndrome for a while i think, as in i had to find a new purpose in life, but i love them being out my hair!!
bye red
Sounds eminently sensible red! Sleep well... and good luck with all the move and all it entails!
yeah ditto!!!
hello again, babblers!

i was doing much better - it really surprised me, then i hurt my back working out too hard in the pool & took it easy & haven't really stopped taking it easy, lol
