Hi Jilli
great jilli too bad you didn't bid it
we weren't playing against flosey and her hubby though

I think I'm glad I didn't find him roaming the halls lol
I think we were still using Culbertson -- my partner today had never heard of Culbertson but she's a very good player -- just younger than I am, which isn't hard to be, lol

this is a great book jilli, I'm really enjoying it - very sad in parts, but humour as well

it's hard for us to imagine thousands of young children walking/running through the desert, running at night, for years
just read your review flosey would like to read it too

such a beautiful continent in such dire straits
flosey just saw a good movie about the lost boys... but my brain isn't remembering the name of the flic... rented it thru netflix... terribly sad... the group that was filmed had ended up in Pittsburgh
if you remember the name of the film Dee, Please let me know, I'd like to see it
brb I'll see if I can find it in my list
re
flosey name is: God Grew Tired of Us.. here is the blurb info: After raising themselves in the desert along with thousands of other parentless "lost boys," Sudanese refugees John, Daniel and Panther have found their way to America, where they experience electricity, running water and supermarkets for the first time. Capturing their wonder at things Westerners take for granted, this documentary, an award winner at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, paints an intimate portrait of strangers in a strange land.
Now how did that re get in there?
Sometimes I get in the chat very mysteriously!
Took it down, thanks so much Dee for going to all that trouble, I really appreciate your interest
Trying to be a lurker and there I go revealing myself!
Goodnight all...
I'm going to Toronto next week for 3 weeks, I'll look for it while there

I have also seen several flics about Rwanda.... I decided I needed to do a better job of educating myself about other parts of the world
I have all of 9 words, busy day tomorrow so won't finish this big one
you will have so much fun
well this book has certainly opened my eyes
this one is going slow for me, too, jili
for me too, thought it was because am so tired
odd how quick our media is to discuss some topics, yet they ignore others
I get so very irritated
yes, some things are uncomfortable perhaps - and downplayed
sp 7... a dog... a cocker ....sp
ty dee!
oh, thanks, my first 7
my brother is a minister in inner city Pittsburgh, PA, and visiting there has been an eyeopener... ty jili.... no one wants to discuss the poverty in America either...
I'm hoping the headache I have and the one side of the throat sore doesn't mean anything...
another sp 7/32 and a related form 8/45... looks like the body part starting with same 1st 3 letters
oh jilli, hope not, you've had enough of that for this year
wow me 2 jili....
I'm telling it to go away and may go away myselof -- to bed, lol!
sleep's good jilli for fighting these bugs
think I'll be off to bed - maybe this grid will look better in the morning
agreed flosey
great chatting, and thanks again Dee, now, goodnight all
be back early tomorrow
I just have to go through the tiles once
G'night, flosey
good luck jill

Hi
re-hi
How are you?
hi herin
pretty good; how about you lady
good just got back from the library
I did that last Friday... found so many fun books... Evanovich, Nancy Fairbanks, Joanne Fluke... fluffy mysteries
our local library is fairly poor. I am getting a book ordered in from another library
the one I go too is puny too, but they are all so very nice... will get books from other places, just like yours.... I love going to the library LOL... feel like a kid....
I like librabies and im not used to this tiny little library that we have
I am used to 'get lost for hours' library's
One of my earliest memories is sitting in the egg shaped window at the library when i was a kid
I totally understand
So how are you Volley?
our small library has over 40,000 books plus DVDs, tapes. etc and interlibrary loans. I work there -- it's run by 2 part-time pros and 150 volunteers
Thats Small? Not in my world sigh that sounds lovely
?
hanging in there lady... our weather has been nuts, so my RA has been painful... but have been reading alot, babbling, and doing a little needlework... so life is good
people like it. There are magazines too, free computers, copier, and a great kids' section downstairs
Needle work is good for bad hands
Jill that sounds lovely our library has free 'local' library connections
helps keep my fingers limber, but sometimes it kills my thumbs, must be how I hold the needle... not really sure. I'm not great, but I make simple things like bread covers, table runners...
sounds like a fun place to work jili
I am currently hunting down a full list of Jodi Picoult books
it's great, dee
Jill that sounds like a fun volunteer job.
oh lady.. I just finished her book, "My Sister's Keeper"... wow what a twist at the end of that one
I had never read any of her books before
I want to start reading the very first book. Ill just borrow them. I have already made a bad book choice this year
I have a cousin in NC who has her degree in library science. She is librarian at a grade school and also teaches 4th - 6th graders how to use the net for research...
what was her first one lady?
and of course closely watches that they don't end up places they shouldn't...
Um looking now
SOngs of the humback whale
herin, it's been perfect for me -- meeting like-minded people, lots of laughs, feeling useful, seeing lots of good books, magazines, helping people learn to use computers, etc etc
http://www.jodipicoult.com/
NBT so going to bed -- night all!
Night Jill. Also Jill you are an inspiration
Night Jill. Also Jill you are an inspiration
ty lady; I'll check it out. jili I hope you feel better!!!
Volley i made a really horrid book choice today so now im going to read Harry Potter
thanks herin and dee xoxoxo *poof*
Question: Would it be really mean of me to email an writer and tell her what i think of her book (its not good)
what book was horrid? I have never read the Harry Potter books... I've seen a few of the movies; I am just not a fan of wizadry, so didn't want to spend so much time on such large books. Have you read any Sue Crafton books?
I have done that before; I just make sure I criticize the work, rather than attacking the author.
pa 8/65
The Book was Keri Arthur's Full moon rising. Its just sloppy
No i haven't read Sue Crafton.
she is nicknamed the alphabet author... mysteries... starting with letters ... I think she is up to "S"
http://www.suegrafton.com/
One of my main gripes is the sloppiness of the writing for instance a bunch of vampires attack this club (random factoid not going anywhere in story) and she mentions that two of the women were raped. My point with this is there is no need to include that as there is no point in it. Also her technology is sloppy.
then, you should share those observations ...
have you seen the movie August Rush yet?
I am thinking so. I think its just that i am a big nerd and a big role playing nerd. No to that movie.
great flic... worth seeing just for the music in it...
http://www.apple.com/trailers/ i like to look here for future movies
I'll check that out; I have only used netflix.com and imdb.com
you always have great websites to investigate
I like to trawl about the net you never know what youll find
I love ask.com for that very reason
li 6/24... have never heard that word before...
here's the meaning... odd word . 1. a slightly rough or ripply surface on a body of water. 2. spray from small waves.
oh dear. I just found a very odd movie Zombie Strippers
yuk
Robin Williams is in August Rush... plays a really strange part... wish I had the cd for just the music...
i think i just cracked up laughing at its badness of it. OH i have heard of that movie
lol
my nets just died
how can you still be here?
I am here. I just rebooted
I just found that you can get the August Rush cd at Amazon.com
welcome back
I first rented thru netflix, then bought it at walmart
Thanks
Silly pc
Keri Russel was in another flic... director actually was murdered right before movie's release... I think that one was called Waitress.
have guests back soon
okay... I should be going shortly; ty for all info

HI mr pres
hi infern!

good grief MRP! does she work in the canteen? tell her you're new & need to make a good impression and you just can't spend any more time with her...although of course you 'hear' what she is saying!
well im breathing i suppose.
pa8 - thought pattern in any science
mi8 - unintentional begging ?
mi8.55 you ***** your case in court - but you make a mistake
fi8 - the end of it all - as in cubism so is the end of it
OK coffee in (may help) and icon updated : )
that might be all I have in the 8's
more help with the pa8 plz
don't have it yet movie
Pa8 sounds like 20 cents
To the preceding pa4/5 (start of famous red beret regiment) add what you do with a spade and finish with a consonant
dont look at me
pa8 - pa** legal + make a hole with a shovel + my first name letter
Hi Haz & MonkeyGames

HI Haz and Monkey
Hello lynxx - back to lurking! Spangle is a clue today, sp7/32
hi hi hi lynxx! have missed chatting with you... we need to powwow on yahoo sometime please!
thanks
hi haz :)
Hi! I'm not really here... just got back from playgroup and checked in. In half an hour I can really be on over lunch after Walter goes down for his nap.
hi kje :)
Hiya Haz
Hello MM.
hi Mr P
lynxx... I got bombarded by a drama queen who is 36 going on 14... just wanted to tell her to shut the F up, but can't do that... had to 'advise' her to ignore the problems she was facing
hi monkey
by ignore, I mean just leave it be and stop dragging everyone else into it
another clue for the sp8 pls?
sp8.... a person who speaks spleen??
Deep breathes MRP. Don't do yahoo I'm afraid
a person from spleen!
Mr Pres you need a natter
what's a natter?
thanks for sp 8 mr p
ty mrp how are you?
Natter to talk
sokay lynxx... I had a good laugh at her expense though... she thought all the crap about her was coming from one person... she found out the difficult way it was coming from all corners! I felt sorry for her for a few seconds, but when she started swearing her head off ... I just put my hand up and said.... "not involved, deal with it darling"
SP 8 please
ardilla! am well thanks! did way way way too much today, but am happily resting on babble
just clued herin
a natter is a chatter
good call Mr Pres. Swearing in the canteen where small kids are about is not cool
sp8 - sp, three letters for shortened Mr Bernstein, the greatest boxer's letters rearranged
brb , dad on the phone
THanks
Back later.

haz
bye Haz
OH shoot me. I didn't see the bottom L
yah, d's are done!
Yah how are you Ardilla
Lots of Dutch words.... prei, plein...
my dutch is weak
Mine is weaker than I thought. People still have to check the grammar in my reports before I turn them in.
actually, my dutch is severely disabled
mine is non excistance
tomorrow should be my last day on crutches!
Do you actually have some Dutch, kje? Given that je is a normal diminutive to end a name with? Walter is Waltertje, to many, dfor example.
Yah Ardilla
Yay Ardilla! That must be a relief.
well - my deepest sympathy ardilla - but your arms will get ripped!
no dutch - except chocolate
I've been over here 15 years. hought my Dutch was pretty good until I went back to college.
yeah, they're quite sore
Happy days Ardilla!
I thought my english wa pretty good until I went back to college
think of toned upper arms and all the arm wrestling you can now win
Is it your native language?
yes
ha ha ha :)
Mine too.
g about moving somewhere, I was having a nice convesration today with a Japanese lady and a Czech lady; we only had Dutch in common. So three native languages and one additional common one.
Where do the first parts of my posts go? That was supposed to start "Fun thing"
OK, got to get Walter up for his nap. Back in a while.
that was one of the weird things when visiting Switzerland - since they have 3 languages... you would meet 2 or 3 swiss people who used english to communicate as that was their common language - surreal
Monkey sometimes you typein stuff before it has a chance to load
I'm at mid point and really starting to not like tis grid
i have 57
Its hard work KJE

HI CARLEE

ynxxx, dense me is not getting that mi clue. Can you steer me closer to the do in ocurt bit?
TY lynxx
Carlee im getting there
We're fine, Carlee. Sprained toe better, looking forward to tomorrow (Queen's Day)
my eyes feel SO heavy...
found mi7 is the 8 related
Peri - a p word for beg ... see p5.14
queens day?
what's the thing with the purple crayon?
Monkey what bit you?
thanks lynxx, have all the 8's now
Bit me? Oh, I see. Well, I walked into the kitchen in the dark and the step stool jumped out and tried to push the toe intoi my foot.
oh thats right. SOrry
kje...there a book.. a children's book ( someone pls supply name)...and the lottle boy colours out anything he doesn't like with apurple crayon..myself..i like to colour out the re's
owwies bad stool
We have Harold and teh Purple crayon-- but he draws fantasy worlds, doesn't scribble stuff out
not familiar with that one - but like the concept - LOL
maybe that the story... i've not read it myself
It's quite charming, really.
hence..purple crayon...
He gets bored so he draws himself going for a walk under the moon. Lots of puns, like when he makes land or draws up the covers.
G'd morning Babblers! At first glance, I'm not liking the looks of these letters.....
Got to go check my soup. BRB
i'm not liking this one yet either lori...( checking macaronis )
what's it called monkey?
Hi Lori
hi, Babble family...
Mornin' all
Harold and teh Purple Crayon.
Hi Lori and Angel!
hi angel! - spent so much time on Sunday looking for thing sin my office that I thought - I must get organized like angel - have moved to the planning stage angel : )
ty monk
& Kristine
We have the DVD too. Lots of stories, read by Sharon Stone.
Prefer the first book to the other books or teh DVD. Book was written I think in the 20's. Classic.
Phantom: eland
good, kje. It is so much easier when things are in order. I can't believe how much better it is.
is that just dutch?
I just found awesome food
no - eland is a real word
kje, didn't you order the filing system?
an antelope like thing, no?
Does it mean the same thing (moose or elk)?
HI anyone i missed
this is work office angel?
What sort food?
whats for food herin ( am making koshary right now for missie's class tomorrow)
but monkey - it doesn't exist in this grid
I'll be making Korean Pancakes with 9 fillings tonight. Might just do 5 though.
That's why I said phantom, kje.
what makes a pancake korean monkey?
Maria Gracia has an organizing book for the office as well as for the home, kje
oops - missed the phantom part : )
OK angel (are you sure your not getting a kickback?)
The pancakes themselves ar epretty straightforward. Thin things made of milk and flour and eggs and chili powder. But the fillings use Korean spicing and teh whole affair is a Korean dish.
Carlee im looking at the amazing delievery of tiffins in the city
absolutely sure, kje...I just know a good thing when I see one :)
tiffins in the city?
What's a tiffin?
sound yummy monkey...
They're good. Just do a Google on Guchul Pan, and you'll find 'em. Easier than they sound, too, just a tad time consuming.
The dipping sauce is best with Chinkiang vinegar, but what isn't? That's at most Asian groceries.
Ok a tiffin is a stack of food (think Bento but small stack of tins)
What's a Bento?
Bento is a box of fud
kje, I've been collecting online resources for getting organized and for frugal living for months. very helpful.
I am finished, I am exhausted looking at the defs to see what all these words are! Must get some dinner - bye for now
i'm just working on last part of koshary... making for 30
Gotcha.
<POMPOM TOSS> for lynxxx
Bye Lynxxx!
What's Koshary? I know, I'm useless.
woohoo lynxx
Congratulations, and take care lynx!!!!
Ok so in Mumbai they have the wives family members cook the food into these boxes and then this company collects them and delivers them to the offices for about 300 R a month. My city has just opened a delivery service in the city at a small price
Yah lynxx
Mumbai? What kind of food? Sounds really yummy!
Indian
koshary is the "staple food" of egypt... meaning..its is equivalent to mac and cheese in North america...or... eggs and chips in england
Of course.... I cook from several regions. I'll look up Mumbai recipes.
Great, Carlee! What IS it, though?
Its a great way to make sure your rice isn't soggy and your bread is covered in goo
its a mixture of long grain rice..over cooked macaronis ( they like pasta cooked to soft there ) and lentils..with diced tomatoes..and fried onions...then baked
OH carlee i need to look that up
That sounds really nice. Thanks!
am just finishing the macaronis... then pour over the tomatoes..and sponn on the onions..and bake
our next-door neighbor gave us a weed-eater yesterday.
t to go check the soup again.
I am a puss id have to leave at the hot
leave out the hot even
oh...the hot BARELY there... cus rice and macaronis naturally kill the hot
I am a puss
no seriously herin..if u ever in a situation where the food to hot foryour palete....spoon it over rice... cuts the heat in 1/2
I just avoid hot
i put in...to a pan to serve about 30...maybe 1/4 tsp of cayene... I'm doing this the EASY way
this grid stinks
yep
fine
oops!!!!!!
thanks MG...i didn't have that one
I have that one
but I have a bit of cayene in my nose...
nose and eyes running
eww
Ooh, that can be a problem! Sometimes when I'm frying up the peppers for various dinners I smoke us all out with the pepper gas, though, but at least that can be aired out. I have no suggestions... snort milk???
Poor love
mmm mmm mmm spicy hot food! can i have some for breakfast morning all
lol snort milk
Hello!
I don't like it Fran
eww
perhaps eat some bread.
I like snort the milk as a concept
people make the mistake of grabbing a glass of water when somehting is hot. that just spreads the heat.. besides, most hot things are oil based.. so water doesnt wash it away.. you have to eat bread or like carlee said.. rice
bread
Milk is one of the things that does pick up the chili. But she got it up her nose.
sees someone stuffing bread sticks up their nostrals
I still say snort milk
me too! your right snorting milk might help.. it couldnt hurt
or she can drink a glass and we can make her laugh till it comes out her nose !
Or snort Whizz Fizz and then you will ahve a frizz nose
LOL whats whizz fizz?
Frantique, you the winner! Hee hee!
lol
Pixie Stixx
my nose is fine all...koshary in oven now
perhaps soak a tissue in milk and blot the inside of the nose
yay LONG LIVE THE NOSE ! hip hip hoooray!
mmm yummy'
ok now when do we eat the Koshary. we all want a taste!
inabout an hour...its done
its better tomorrow tho..is why am doing NOW....for tomorrow...
i just found something thats is as amzing an invention as sliced bread !
all the flavours just kinda mix together
whats that fran?
Gas bbqing !! I've always been a charcoal wood girl
Gas is so freakin easy and fast!!!
yuppers
duh where have i been all these years!
not sure... I am already having apanic fr camp NEXT year..our guide cook is DONE this year and she is FAB
Can't do it. I'm a charcoal girl, not briquettes even, and wood when I have the time.
oh but carleekat.. don't ya wanna pick off the top crusty part cold in the morning ?
she and hubby built a grill thingy that can grill up about 10 omelets at a time....
i swore i'd never go gas.. I picked up a little portable one, and now going to run out and buy a full size and toss my charcoal one
at camp...without electricity
she gets up..cooks... has breakfast including oatmeal done for when girls get up..cleans up....and starts lunch....
we used to cook mega meals off a tiny stove
WOW Carlee thats awesome
I have a gas pipeline to outside. we've never used it. I wonder if the gas grills that have the tank can be converted to use the piped gas.
she also does the camp in the fall..called wacky paddles..its for 60 girls... and does the same..she shops for camp... and works out her meals so that the raw veggies..or fruit left over...work into next meal
no..they cannot fran...diff fittings
my oven had broken years ago, I went 7 years with out an oven. Just had stove top. I use to cook a whole thanksgiving meal on charcoal webber grill every year..
u have to buy the BBQ made for the outside line..its also illegal to do so
oh good thing i asked carleek. Now I better decide if i want it plumbed or the tank
i lived 1 week without an oven and cried the whole time...
My cure for curry burn and all similar hotspots is sugar. Always works for me.
My cure for curry burn and all similar hotspots is sugar. Always works for me.
Lol and i didnt miss mine for 7 years
Hi Pat
both are good..i've had both...but withthe gas line..u cannot move the BBQ... cannot put away in winter... cannot move out of rain
mine is milk or yoghurt
or ride it out...i generally ride it out
My gas line is next to my porch. i'd rather it be off my kitchen
oh yogurt you can put yogurt up your nose that would cool down the pepper LOL
oh another questiong, If i get a tank bbq. can leave the tank attached all winter and use it in the winter?
sigh
i love to grill in the snow
argh... i wonder where scarlet is..i have a cooking question...
Can I help?
Hi all. Please can someone explain how I change my icon. Worked the first time but can't sort it now. Will be grateful as this grid is driving me up the wall. Haven't finished one in ages.....think I must be turning stupid.
I have three parrots, I don't cook in the kitchen until they go up to bed. smoke is bad for them
try refreshing your BROWSER window to here
sometimes it takes a while to refresh
We have three feral scarlet macaws here.
lee, really, maybe I know teh cooking answer?
ra ne
Monkey did they survive i remember they were on watch last year
do you know middle eastern cooking?
cool whats a FERAL? i know scarlet Macaws .. the red ones right but whats a feral?
feral means wild
Some. Mostly from teh gulf region and Palestine. What's the question?
i make mock middle eastern stuff.
Hi - I'm here - kinda
Feral means wild from birth but not a native species.
WOW wild ones! you've domesticated them? or they live outside?
lean
Monkey did they all live ?
see pb alreadu
I make mock things by just adding every spice i have and then grilling them in a hot pan on top of stove.
gm babblers, how's the grid?
These three are the third generation and the fourth. There was a BIG flock 20 years ago but people stole teh babies. This third one is the first baby in 20 years to make it and stay wild. He's 1 now. The parents are about 18.
Lemme find the website about 'em.
wow cool what country do you live in monkey?
grid's not bad Hoffs
wow, very interesting re: macaws
Netherlands.
COll monkey i remember you talking aoburt it
Hoffs it sucks
like your giraffe photo - did yuo take it?

they are coming.. I need to order the chickens today... and I need to figure out how much of any ingredient i need for raspberry cordial... and pound cakes.. ( 3 batches of each) I need... and I need to come up with a nice black current punch
I can't get it and I am leaving soon. I wanted to get a good start before we 'hit the road' so I could do it alone.
you have lots of work ahead of you kat ! - bravo for even contemplating doing this !!

Hello montreal - I'm well, thanks.
it keeps me young luc... or 1/2 crazy... or is that the same thing?
**i Geller
hi there haz
I am sorry i am so lost
'xactly kat ...lol
Back for a min and off topic. I found a TV. It works fine. Had a sign on it saying "free, take it away". SO here it is. But the universal remote I bought needs to be programmed. I have the code lists. However, the TV says it is an RM 2000, which the guide and online sources say is a sattelite dish. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I just need the code to tune the remote to the machine.
Hello carlee - I'll be back later once lunch is done and errands run.
carlee is preparing a sleepover celebrating "Anne of Green Gables" at her place herin...
later hazel - take care !
googled it and got it with Haz's clue. ty
Glad you got it, Merk - bye!
( at the church around the corner actually )
ok...people..suggestions for making black current punch... I have rybena
had to program a number of TVs MG...but none that gave me "satellite dish" source...sorry...
limeaid?..lemonaid? pineapple juice?...what flavour do you think would go best?
brain aid would be good right now
lemonade would be my choice kat...
lol herin
Montreal, have now found TV in Dutch listings only but no sign of code key. Is there a way to get it to respond, is there a "universal" code, anything?
i'd call the help desk for either of the products..when in doubt...be a blond and ask ]
i think i might have mislaid you herin...carlee is organizing but it will be at her church - is that right kat ?
Even though it's a free TV I found on the street? I'll see if I can get the web to cough up a service number...
how do they know... could be your dad's old tv for all you know...or an old roomate...
don't believe MG that there is a "universal" code - i remember going through hundreds of codes and eventually returning the remote to the store to get a more expensive one that worked...
( not my church..hahaha...its not important... its just the church where our guides meet every week )
Dang. OK, back at it I go...
but DEFINITELY not at my house...
i know what is happening
LOL kat...
montreal, hello...
good for you herin...cause i certainly don't...lol

I like the stats page because it's automated a bit.
it was fine Angel - did you get negative comments from elsewhere ??
ANgel my dear where do i find the stats that you have done please
no, I've had no negative comments. It's just I've never done a spread sheet like this before.
herin, go to the main page of the babble online resource guide...under Babble links...Angelsong's Stats
at some later time, i would like to know how you automated that page Angel...
your thingie?
lori, not getting your FA7 clue - i only have 1 FA4 and it doesn't work with Guy's last name...
I just used Google Spreadsheets. If I enter numbers, then select the data, it gives me a total automatically, and it is set to republish each time I edit the page.
I can't find it angel can you please URL it
best part is, it cost NOTHING.
Oops, typo monty, extend the fl 4. Man. I need more coffe. Sorry!

ok, the link for the Babble Stats page has been changed. someone besides Montreal, please go to Babble links, in the sidebar of the first page of the resource guide, and click it open, then click Angelsong's Babble Stats...let me know if it works for you or not...
herin, try the new link, please...
Sheesh. Finally got this remote working by tracking down an obscure set of instructions for having it search for the code itself. Off to do some real housework now. Happy Babbling!

hello all!
(wink)
Hello TO!
hi owl
Written in invisible font, I should hope.
hey TO :-)
Oh no! We can NOT allow our unexpressed thoughts to be recorded in anyway...they would all involve very NOT G rated things..
Hey TO! Are you lurking too? :-)
wont be much help at the moment ... only just started!
Invisible font, indeed.
no lori! just began lunch. say there is a babbler in the grid - and it counts!
How about "Lurkers Anonymous?"
I just feel that the term lurking has a pejorative sound to it. Silent Observation sounds less threatening.
HI Im Ruru.. I have been lurking for an hour... group says "Hi Ruru!"..lol
LA LA land?
kje i am always there lol
no, i like lurking.
Hello ruru!
could someone clue the OP?
mo no problem i only have 80 words and started last night
Silent observer seems much more unnerving to me. Like a voyeur..
but SOSO is just ...er... well...so-so
HI haz
hey this could end up a large club.
o + double consonant + vowel + *** Rathers
op + Life of ** + Mr. RAther
and plural
Silent Observer sounds like you're in a tree with nigth vision goggles.....
You see, this is where we need someone with Mo's diplomacy to sort out the duties and functions of the self-help group. Lurkers versus observers.....

lol
9...
8...
do you think he looks like your George?
Magesse. Look at Help above the chatline for the rules. Basically you have to find the words within the grid to the left. At least four letters long, touching, any direction.
Magesse - above this chat box, click on the "help" icon. Also, below the grid in friends of babble box, see "angelsongs babble page". Double also, Don't Panic and always keep your towel with you.
Two eyes, a nose and a mouth are about as similar as they get.....
I always thought George had a special third eye...
I have seen Sir Terence in real life. Jealous?
I cant understand why people think they are alike.
How about instead of Silent Observers, something like Non Participating Participants?
Terry is the only reason I watch the Eurovision.
yes, yes, yes I am, you lucky soul!
ty
Mo's icon doesn't look anything like George! (no offence..)

I only have a minute, because Renee Zellwegger has made a nuisance of herself, since she's learned of my Haz secret.
LOL!!
Never trust a woman who can lose weight like that.
omg she is a withc did you see hte bridget joneses?
i keep thinking represent but that doesnt work
ty got pa 8
George, Renee has always been insecure. I feel sorry for her.
I GOT IT
She's a nice girl. Just a bit stalker-ish, her and some lady from New York state as well.
Not from Ireland though I hope George
Well, we all know the one from New York state. She drives about with skis and canoes on top of the car.
i love renee zellweger but i still dont know what she was thinking when she married that country singer and then later they were divorced
But George, you're so good at coping with all those delusional women.
There you go, wax is for more than just skis. It's a burden to be sure, but I have broad shoulders.
Oh and those shoulders are soooo dreamy!
HI Uni LOL!
Broad shoulders and a big heart. I'm not surprised the others want you as well.
wax .. shoulders ... george has hair on his shoulders
I'm just so glad that you found safe haven in the understair cupboard. Who'd have thought it?
Oh yeah, I used to be lurking. I can't convince myself to work on this grid! Have been reading webcomics instead.
then he will need the wax, won't he?
Hi BabRab
grrr 60 left and not a clue
What's wrong with hairy shoulders? Not that I want them myself, you understand.....
Trade you TO, I've only got 61..
what do you mean not a clue owl have you put the words in lickety?
Hazel's cupboard has been, like Hazel herself, a respite from the artificial Hollywood world I've been thrust in to.
mf, cannot get lickety
Uni you found 61?
why not owl?
Does she let you out though George?
blocket at work. time to go, all! later!
Bye TO see you soon
Bye TO - good to see you again.

Bye George.
Bye George

It's a tear jerker.
"Have some tea, will babble some" - hi all !
hi Luc
Hi monty
Montreal!
Hello montreal!
bzz but a classic bzzz
hiya there babble friends !!
Hi flosey I didnt see you come in
Bzz did we get enough rain this weekend??
2.5 inches in two days.
small interlude in rain he**... "sigh"
monty I love reading your profile, some interesting facts there
have been in and out all morning caitlyn, baking a brioche for first time -- we'll see!
well ty Caitlyn "visible blush appearing from my neck up"
I hope it works well for you flosey.
brb
thanks caitlyn, will let you know
I hope there is enough for babbleland flosey!!
wow Luc, you do keep quite a record, I check in at the ratings once in a while, don't know which one you're referring to
if it works, I'll make more Caitlyn, how's that
Great idea
1st column of rankings flosey - "Cream of the crop"
ah, I'm so far down in that one, never thought to keep track of numbers there, must try
almost always complete babble, but will be in Toronto for 3 weeks next month - may miss a few
well, for the other 2 columns, Village elders is straight forward - and Who's hot is almost impossible to maintain at 1030 unless you do EVERY grid...
{{Lucien}} I am laughing so hard now... we have the same book cover!
have been on top of that one but it fluctuates
Im guilty of that at the moment monty!!
is the top one the first to finish the grid of that day?
(((SCARLET))) - amazing isn't it ??
Yes!!
But not surprising!
Flosey, are you going to visit your sons again?
lol caitlyn !! - no flosey - it's closer to how you perform (percentage wise) over time...
interesting
will start watching it closer
t'was a GREAT book O Red One !
now must try to find my last 23 words - have errands to run and summer clothes to drag out and get ready for TO
For me, Oh Northern Great One... it was the pivotal time of my life! Later flosey! Be well!
that much effect scarlet ?
Yes, Luc... some things just stormed into my heart and soul, and should be, by all accounts, paying me rent! :-)
ahhh - you write I see in your profile... seriously or more keeping a journal like ?
I was a newspaper editor and features, political and sports' writer for many, many moons, Luc!
Scarlet you must ahve had a very interesting career
well, i'll be darned !! - never knew that ! - i understand the culture now...:-)
I did, Cait... and now, it is time to continue with the imperative...
What culture, Lucien? I am a little lost now :9
Cait, my passions are politics and sports... so, they are not so different after all...
well you don't exactly appear to be a wallpaper dear one !
LOL... Luc... you always tickle me no end!!
Both the things Im not very good at Scarlet LOL
not very strong in sports either Cait...
The practice of politics in the United States is a lie wrapped in hypocrisy inside a half-truth.
Have you all been reading about that dreadful man in Austria?
Sport trivia question: Who was the 1st man to run the mi** in less than 4 minutes ? (no cheating allowed)
Cait... I would have, in the long past, have truly enjoyed doing feature stories on so many Babblers... everyone, no matter whom, has a story and I have been humbled, brought to tears, learned and forged on through disasters... so, I learn from every person here. Hello, BabbleRabble-rouser!
***tiptoes in to hug Scarlet, greet Babblers, and consider lurking***
Its no different in the UK Bab
roger bannister
yay BR !!!!!
Lori Darlin'! Thank you for the hug! Much needed today!
Thats a lovely thing to say Scarlet
run to hug ((scarlet)) !
Caitlyn, what I want to know is how his wife did not know all this was going on. Give me a break!
in that case Scarlet, allow me {{{scarlet}}}
Bab are you talking about Dr Roger Bannister Bab?
It doesnt make sense at all Bea
Which is harder to believe. That the woman didn't know what was going on, or that she did know and went along with it?
Buncha' hug copycats! ***never can be enough hugs.... :-)***
it was my sports trivia question Cait...
Awwww... thank you so much, flosey. {{Hugs to Lori and flosey, too}} Hello, Haz! I have missed you all so much!
Hello Scarlet!
He used to live around the corner from me in London monty
well hazel, i would find it UNBELIEVABLE that she did not know !!!!!!
Haz, it's all hard to believe.
did you meet him Cait ?
Oh, I absolutely agree. Whether she knew or not, the whole situation is ghastly.
Who lived around the corner form you Cait?
1954: Bannister breaks four-minute mile. Roger Bannister, a 25-year-old British medical student, has become the first man to run a mile in less than four minutes.
Please clue in the floundering American on this story?
That poor girl must have had a life of sheer hell
Are y'all talking about the freak that locked up his daughter? ***too lazy to scrolll back***
Bea Roger Bannister
Whoa!
Creepy.
Yes Lori
Scarlet, Austrian police have discovered that a 74 year old man has imprisoned his daughter for 24 years. She bore him seven children.
ACK!
No way that family was THAT ignorant to what was happening. They allowed themselves the be ininvolved.
imprisonment started when she was 18...
She and three of the children were kept in an underground basement of their home. Three of the children were raised by him and his wife. They adopted them - they were 'left' on their doorstep, supposedly with a note from the daughter saying she couldn't cope.
That is disgusting, horrible and mind-blowing.
whew, it sure is scarlet
What I found really disgusting that the penalty in Austria for this is 15 years imprisonment!
Some of those chidlren never saw the light of day for their entire lives.
It truly is. One 18 year old boy emerged along with a five year old. They had never seen daylight.
They think the younger children ,who have never seen daylight may recover
The daughter and those children will never know normalcy.
horrifying story... am sure it happened in the past but now the whole world knows...including youths...not very good images to put in their minds...
don't know that I could have left this to the court to decide punishment!
bichon... that is equally disgusting.
I can't imagine such a lenient punishment elsewhere.
I just can't fathom how that man could continue in such wickedness for so long.
How were they dis- or UN- covered, Haz?
No, they won't Scarlet. I'd prob'ally start in International Bable incident, but I can never be convinced, that he pulled that off, without arousing the wif/Mother's suspicions. Never. She had to be suspicious of somthing
There has to be a special place in Hell for those who commit such deeds.
Scarlet, one of the children kept underground became seriously ill and had to be taken to hospital.
Stockholm Syndrome, perhaps?
One of the older ones got sick, and needed medical care
I agree Scarlet
who delivered the babies, him?
almost hoping there is a hell at all...for such persons
Yes
you'd think hospital staff might have obtained information from that child
Oh, Haz... I am thoroughly flummoxed by this story.
The police must have become involved and the father led them to the basement. He had it locked with access only by password.
The father delivered the babies when they arrived.
One of a set of twins died at birth. He incinerated the body in the house boiler.
One of the babies was a twin that died so he threw it into a furnace
he was a newspaper editor wasn't he ??
He can rot, and he makes me pine for an afterlife, which he can rot in again and again.....
Am I right in supposing that this isn't being covered much in US news?
they said that the dead twin died of neglect. I wonder what the father provided for these children and how did he get all these things in the house without the wife knowing?
It's been in the papers Haz
It's making press here Haz.
I have been out of the loop for other than political and weather stories, Haz.
No, it's big news here
it was on 1st page CNN web site yesterday...
yep, that's where I 1st saw it monte
Okay, I was just wondering how much attention it had received.
unfortunately, worldwide attention hazel...
I think the whole world feels sick about this story
A lot, but don't forget, there's the Polygymous Sect news here too
I have had virtually no computer time lately, so these horror stories have eluded me... this one will be a Hollywood production for certain... either the Coen brothers or Quentin Tarantino...
Newspapers here are wondering - why Austria - this is the third such long-term imprisonment story to emerge in the past couple of years.
It will be on "Law and Order" for sure
i see George as the le**...lol
Yes, the Texas polygamous sect is getting minute by minute coverage here, so otehr stories are being overshadowed.
There is another gut-punch, Lori... and it goes on m ore than any of us realizes.
in Texas lori ? haven't heard that one...
Do others feel slightly sick/guilty at the thought of this being served up as entertainment in the future?
I saw that last week Lori but no news lately on it
wow, I'm surpised the txas story is getting that kind of coverage in NS lori
absolutely Haz
Of course, Haz... but it is as inevitable as the sunrise.
Very much so Haz
of course hazel...but if there's a buck to be made..."sigh"
It sell papers, so when there's a profit motive, it will be news
I have to admit that when I watched the coverage of 9/11 - people saying 'It's just like a film' - I cringed - we have enjoyed violence as entertainment.
Here monty http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2008/04/ 28/texas-polygamyranch.html
I, too, heard that, Haz, and I WAS ill from it...
It's quite sickening Haz, but won't be the first time, nor the last that profit is made in Hollywood, from others real life suffering.
Phone... be right back.
tx lori, will take a peek...
14 year old girls ??!! hard to fathom...
I know - it just makes me sad. I didn't go to see the film based on the Flight where the passengers took over the plane.
There is no way they'll ever be able to enjoy a sense of normalcy, they'll always be seen as a side show, and I hate to be crass, but would there not be health issues on top of th pain, via the too close genetic relationship?
Unfortuantely, people are very desensitized. :(
There must be a lot of genetic issues as you say Lori
You would think so, Lori. It's a ghastly situation that isn't going to be cured just because it has been uncovered.
wouldn't be surprised lori... 463 children and 50 odd teenage girls - don't know how many men were involved though...
What's even more sad is that any problems that have arisen genetically will be continued indefinitely if they have children.
Do ya'll think that this it is clear this is the FLDS (fundamentalist) not the regular LDS church - being a (regular) Mormon I wonder how it is affecting how people are making the association or if
Didnt it get uncovered by someone escaping?
sad but true Uni...
Lex - I think it's been made pretty clear thta this is a fringe group
No, it was an 911 call that was never really justified. They never found the girl who purportedly made it
caitlyn, the raid happened as a result of a call from a supposed 16 year old cult member that they can't find, so it may place the legal ground for the warrant in jeopardy, or not.
fa5 please
"never jusitified"? hmmm - maybe not owned up to, but justified considering there has been stauatory rape
sorry, must go BBL - happy babbling all - "POOF"
Bye monty take care
I had to explain to my classes that (because they asked) if they were doing this in our regular church - they would be excommunicated
I think people understand that there's always sect offshoots that take astrange directions. I'm Jewish, but I hope people don't think of all Jews being like the fanatic Hassidim
lex, honestly, most people aren't going to differentiate, given that polygamy was only abandoned what, a little over a century ago by the LDS?
It is so sad that so many of those people are so lost and confused about normalcy - and genetics definately can play a part of the issue
fa + jazz grat L*** Horne
I meant justified, as in finding the actual person making the call
disagree lori - mormon faith has become pretty common in the states - I don't think most people believe they still practice polygamy
abandoned in 1865 - I think
thanks Lori
And Ken Jennings earned a lot of good press for Mormons.
There always will be sects that go under the name of religon but only are doing it for self gratification
My daughter was in a class last year where the spelling word was polygamy - and the teacher used this sentence for the example - "it is only legal to practice polygamy in Utah>
Well, I don't live in the States and don't know any Mormons but was certainly under the impression polygamy was not only practised but promoted. I seem to recall a program on TLC with a Mormon gentleman with several wives a little while ago...doesn't mean it's true though, but the perception is certainly there.
Lots of horrible thing shave been done in the name of many different religious groups - hopefully people understand the difference between true believers in different paths vs extremists using it to their own benefit
kje, only my opinion. One need only look at a number of recent news, world wide events, that paints an entire group with a brush, based on the actions of a tiny percentage.
911!!
I don't know where somee teachers come up with these things. When my son was in grade school the kids had to write a story about Easter and my son wrote about Easter Island. The teacher said she'd never heard of Easter Island and that he was making it up!
Oh man - bichon
LOL bichon - No Way!!!
Not gonna' mention specific events,. because there'll be a fight. i'm just saying it's the nature of the beast.
I have heard it all now bichon
yes, lori, there are extremists on all sides - those behaving in extreme fashions, and those interpretting all people different from themselves in extreme ways
Sounds like teacher needs to brush up on her geography ! Hi all :)
Hi MaMa
G'd afternoon MaMa
bichon, tell me you're kidding.
bichon! Wow...just when I thought I have heard it all...
Him MaMa!
Or, *Hi*
if you want to know the Church's actual stand on polygamy you can look up LDS.org and look at frequently asked questions or mormon.org
In Canada, we have the equivalent in Bountiful BC, with Winstons Blackmore's cult. Government ahs avoided it like the plague, to date.
hi back Scarlet :)
:-)
lex, myself, I'm quite aware of the differences. In general, people paint with a broad brush.
funny thing - is - I am trying to get my daughter to wear something "mosdest" to prom and she actually thought that I meant she should look like one of those texas women
Freedom of expression, religious beliefs, press... and on and on... Even the American Nazi party is protected by law!
LOL lex - she was just being a typical teenager...knowing how to push your buttons!
"but mom, you don't want them to think I'm in some cult , do you?"
That's her job as a teen lex.... ;-)
LOL lex, you should get her a dress like that and see what she says
good luck Lex trying tofind something modest, let alone getting her to wear it
She shouldn't wear what they wore at that Fashion festival Haz showed us the other day...
Oh - I know to misunderstand and think I am an extremist
LOL, DO NOT wear any of the hideous dresses that haz linked to.......
UNi!! {{Hi}} Sorry about me disappearing yesterday... a monster storm knocked me off the 'net right in the middle of "Tell me your favorite male actor" conversation! :-)
Well I really must get some supper ready!! I have enjoyed having a good conversation tonight.See you tomorrow, take care all.....bye
afternoon all - how's the grid? It's a bit late for me to be starting, and word count over 200 - I think I won't - but, I was just curious!
The room got quite warm during that conversation yesterday...... :-)
(Red) It's okay...we all agreed to love Clive Owen. You didn't miss much.
bye cait!
bye Caitlyn
Happy cooking caitly, take care!
OK until about the last 50 or so AsGreen
G'd afternoon As!
As, don't even look at the tiles, they are pure evil.
I was there for the Clive rant! Bye, caitlyn~ So good to see you~ Hi, Asgreen.
lol - ok, I'll take Uni's advice!
I told her she could truly stand out at prom - be the talk of the prom - no go though
I missed the Clive rant.... hi kje and Lori and Scar too!
And I have to go as well. Bye! (The grid is doable but gird your loins)
It was a grind, As, but fun. New words for me in this one. Later Haz!
The rant being a unified opinion that Clive Owen is one of the most amazing actors in the world now, and it is kinda pretty, too. Later, Haz... girded and set to go! :-)
*kinda* pretty she says...only one we could all agree to droll over! Everyone else had at least one vote against.
pr6 and 7 please
maybe I'll "dabble" in my profile a bit, and see if I can figure out how to update photos, etc...
LOL, Uni...
pr 6 = before + arms and legs are ***bs
thanks Lori
pr 7 is before + the move The Wedding ****ner
thanks Lori again
Let's see, I found a GOOD one....does it show?
Oh for cryin' out loud, Lor... I had the mi... and never thought about this! **Fish bath**
nope, it's the same photo I think....
LOL Scarlet. YVW pab
do I need to log out and log back in?
only a bath Scarlet, I'm swimming in fish
**giggle** pab...we are not at our best today! LOL
No, just refresh, green.
NO, As... just refresh
As, I see a family photo (it seems) when I click your profile, but to see in babble, refreshes are usually required
I am failing miserably at this grid..Lori tells me I will hate myself when I ask for a clue, but instead I hate the grid :)
LOL.. Uni, don't listen to your mother...
**ducking**
ok, I think I did it...
Scarlet! Don't encourage her disrespect! ***lobs guppy at Scarlet***
that's a family photo, yes, with one particularly famous person that we met while on vacation!
Hi Babblers! "The gang's all here!"
Hi Aloy
**Gulp** Aloy!! Are you in Ohio now? Are you well? Did you find any MIckey's this year?
oooh, it's very distorted....oh well...
G'd afternoon Aloy
I feel like a Babble seal... Lori lobs a guppy and I had it for lunch!
Going back to COLD Ohio tomorrow evening, Scarlet.. hopefully, my Downy dryer sheets have kept all the Mickeys away!
**slapping flippers together...acting cute for the hope of another guppy treat**
So, you had a bad storm yesterday, Scarlet?
LOl, Aloy... it is COLD here today, too... Yes, Aloy, a real bright-light strike of lightning and no phone, Internet nor lights for quite a long period of time~!
oh dear.. glad the lights are back on..
There is a limit, Aloy... all but upstairs in the noggin... this grid is fun but sloooowww.
Lol.. some weirdo words in this grid for sure
Yep! When does your husband pick the oranges, Aloy? Is that in the next month? I don't know anything about citrus crops.
ok, profile done, Uni won't let me start, so I think I'm off to do some other puttering around the house until it's time for the kiddos to descend!

I thought I was really on to something with the PA8/65... like a belief in Utopia... it was not a word, but it "sounded" so good... LOL
Oh! Got it.

Yes, a buzz-word for a certain type of "shift" in thinking or scientific study, inge.
eating lunch - anyone need clues while I'm hanging out?
pa 8-4/5 + 4 letters that sound like 10 cents
It sounds like having a duet for the coin up from the nickle! LOL
Thanks, kje... I am still in my suffering mode...
*playing violin in minro key for scarlet*
how about ur6 for a clue, please?
**sobbing quietly as I bleed** The music is so beautiful, kje...

I know that is a lousy clue, but it is kinda hard to clue
it worked for me!
I can't wait to see them, flosey... I can smell them all the way from Canada to Asheville!
OH, good, 'cuz I was trying to come up with something better : )
NO need, kje... it was perfect.
Is the bread done !?!?!?!?!
**Holding a plate with two sticks of butter and several knives... all set to dive in, flosey** Knife, kje?

ok, enjoy all
no knife needed - just rip me off ahunk!!
Thank you, flosey! Superb! LOL, kje is a purist, I can tell.
sorry, had to take a phone message there
Scarlet - I believe tearing bread apart makes it taste better than cutting it : )
yes, lol, have done that on way home from shopping
Evening all. Trying to get this finished before I go off to work. Any clues for the 2nd PI5/12, please?
It's okay, flosey... it was worth it for your bread! I know, kje... my beloved does that to all my breads... especially the crusty ends... says it's the best way to eat it. LOL, flosey... so has hubby!

Ursh, kje... chopped whatever-it-is-called.
Right, kje!
scarlet - how was the political rally?
ahhhh, that kind of neutral.
little slee[py after gym, sorry...
Fairly amazing, kje... Sen. Clinton is very impressive, but not enough to make me change my mind. It was exactly like every other rally I've attended, but the energy was way, way different.
LOL, yes, red... do you like your new placement, and is it with the geriatric folks?
now be careful what we say about the geriatric folk - LOL
its ok scarlet, had a difficukt start, but it was imagined, i've been getting nice thank you notes etc...florida is warm and nice...
As I qualify... geriatric but feisty! :-)
Oh, red... why was it tough in the beginning?
much busier than last place and sicker people, but i am used to it now.
plus i was sick again...
thank you notes from patients Red?
After looking at every single picture in your FliKr account, red, I am in awe of your travels, your experience and your photography. You are one special young woman.
from some patients, one from the mgr, one from one of the charge nurses....
NIce to be appreciated, red.
Scarlet thats nice,i'm fairly regular!
very cool Red - congratulations
it's nice, i'm just glad its all working out.
So am I, red. You said that you specialized in ER work, primarily, so you have to have a well-balanced approach to geriatric medicine.
howdy my Babble clan!
PUgness!!
hi pugmama!!
Did you ever get to posting your poems, Pug?
how art thou my babble homies?
lol scarlet, unless obvioudsly dangerous, i do what the doc tells me...

Ellen Degeneres really can not dance!!!
You have to, red... the doctors are the gods... and I am not being cruel... my father was a surgeon, so I know the XXX commandments... LOL
Welcome to my world, pug... I had a couple of Trojans and some parasites two weeks ago, and they have been making me very snarky... blasted computer troubles!
Ahh, ER docs are waaay different than surgeons...they tend to be a lot more laid back. And in my home hosptial I am more suggestive, but these docs are older etc...
Better for your peace of mind, then, red. :-)
going to make coffee...
got tech support on speed dial now ! every bloody day this week! they just brought me a new modem today
hi kids!
hi k21!
Hey, k21!!

One who does the da4?
da 6/21 - mending socks + the mass transit system in chicago
There's also the color of a horse or the way that light hits the ocean?
da 6/27 - d + granny smith fruit
Thank you! it was the light/horse color I was missing.
Yea for Carol!

*playing twilight zone music for scarlet*
**Kersplat!!**
Throw in a dirge while you're at it, kje! :-)
How about Taps?
***not so fast!!** LOL
*playing Taps slower*
only after proper resusitation efforts have failed Doc.
**snort**
ooops typo queen strikes again!
a good doc knows when an attempt is futile
LOL

Sounds like a line from said Twilight Zone... "Resistance is futile"...

I always snort when humor is so sharp... Go get it, kje... let's the three of us do a line...
An ugging Pug has pulled her plug...
coffee done. this grid is not coming easily for me...88 words so far. I need a few more before I hit the list.
NO violence, red! NO hitting.
clearly scarlet is avoiding the re's
with you red 86 here
Clearly.... where are the next verses?
86?
oooooh....
don't blame her I hate the re's!
I was thinking of 86 as in the term to 86 something.
hello friends! how's the grid today?
I can start giving random clues if you like red - bet I canguess the heinous ones
hey red! long time no see!!!! you okay?
As in: throw it in the drink?
Hi, stid.
roti
A beastie with fangs and a vile sense of humor describes this grid, stid.
oops - wrong box
STIDDY!!!
its a nice word kje, but not in this grid.
stid!!!
hi StidM.
hm. so like the mother of teens, eh? I think I can best this one... LOL
redT, that dog seems to asking how he got into that predicament.
hey BR!
Hello, peoples
hi babrab
hi BabRab
Another innocuous grid to stroll through
Hello, BR-r.
I don't think that is the sentiment in these here parts BR
doesn't everyone think upon finding a word, "that wasn't so hard"?
yes, and then I spend twenty minutes on a fish, BR...
No, BR-r... I think, "I am getting slower as I age rapidly, and this is accelerating the process."
I must say, attitude adjustment is in order. This is fun. Make it so.
It is. I am still aging rapidly.
BR is in his mean dad mode today : )
YAY ! I greyed the G tile!!!!
"no grumbling in there or you'll go to your rooms!"
That's just fine with me, kje... I need a boot to the tailfeathers every once in awhile... LOL
ayay stid!
Aging as a biological process does not prevent choices as a thought process.
So right, as usual, BR-r. Choices saved my life.
okay, I give up. got to 82 words. see you-all tomorrow!
'Bye, stid.
Be well, stid
leaving so soon stiddy?
awww stid - bye
too many die, without ever learning to live
And, in having lived, having learned to love and forgive.
Yeah for you, Scarlet
And to you, BR-r.
As an editor, Scarlet, did your paper have a code of journalism ethics that included opinion articles by the editorial board?
Yes, BR-r. We all had to study not only ethics, but journalistic law. The primary opinion-giver was the publisher, but many times, he allowed guest editorials. Our board, since it was a privately-owned paper, consisted of the entire editorial staff... read that, reporting staff.
I learned to not be bullied by politicians and not allow being pushed into a corner for the "greater good of the community"... which translates as the "special interest" of the said bully.
is there something specific that you were thinking of BR?
That is wonderful, Scarlet. I have been telling the local paper at best its editors are at best more puppy dogs than watch dogs and too often lap dogs. I also found them to be akin to political operatives acting as boosters or champions of their own agenda. Papers has so much influence in choosing what is fit to print.
One editor now calls me his buddy, although I doubt I will ever get a Christmas card.
the buddy he most wants to shoot?
Probably
We find that condition wherever we travel, BR-r... one, in order to maintain one's integrity, must take a stand and offer sometimes unpalatable opinions to kick-start some awareness and/or action on the part of the readers, the politicians, the public at large, and maybe the periodical's staff who play it entirely too comfortably... one must have some guts to say: "The emperor has no clothes!"
Please clue the first sp6/24
Please clue the first sp6/24
I have been writing letters to the editor with the theme of "who will watch the watchdog"
sp 6/24 - round, like an orb
duh - tx kje
yw
Please don't stop that, BR-r... one voice in the wilderness is better than the alliance of silence or shoulder-shrugging that has become the median behavior. One voice can and often does make a differnce... you just can't allow the slanted opinions of those "in charge" to call the shots.
in keeping scarlet's theme music going...now starting to softly play the battle hymn of th republic
I love the Russian Naval Hymn...
not sure I know that one *flipping through sheet music*
Just watch Hunt for Red October and it will give you gooseflesh, kje~
does this mean we can stop Taps - Rs completed?
Three more taunt me, kje!
Does the Russian Naval Hymn have lyrics too?
will ggole
It must, BR-r... I have only heard the choral underpinnings of sound relating to the music... so beautiful. I bet I will end up Googling that after I finish!
apparently yes, but in russian - LOL
I found an MP3
says the hymn was written for the movie
my typing in english is bad - but my typing in russian would be worse
that's what I saw also BR
It was so beautiful... I have watched that movie, probably, a dozen times and every time I hear that music, I get chills.
LOL, kje...
Unbreakable union of free republics, Great Russia has joined forever! Long live the created by the will of peoples United and mighty Soviet Union CHORUS: To Glory, our free Fatherland The stronghold of the friendship of peoples Party of Lenin is the power of the people It leads us to the triumph of Communism 2. Through storms the sun of freedom shone to us And the great Lenin lighted us the way He raised peoples to the right cause He inspired us for labour and for acts of heroism CHORUS 3. In the victory of the immortal ideas of Communism We see the future of our country, And to the Red banner of our glorious Fatherland We shall always be selflessly loyal CHORUS
Not exactly memorable.
While I have major disagreements with the political philosophy, I still love the music... the lyrics are truly outdated.
not a lot of great communist political music out there I imagine
Music is apolitical.
music yes, lyrics no
LOL... I just can't put those words to such a magnificent sound... LOL
hope that didn't ruin the music for you scarlet
why are we singing communist songs?
It can't, kje! :-)
We'
We're getting ready for MayDay, EJ!!

help with i words, don't have any
evening everyone :-)
hi kate
k-k-k-katie
il 4 and 5 - relating to a body part (intestinal, I think)
found il4/4
both have to do with pelvic bones
il 4/4 - the bone
il 4/5 - realted to the bone
never remember if they are related to pelvic bones or intestines
in 6/21 - like tile, in + la 4/5
in - in + la 4/5
this one is the intestine - pelvic bone is spelled with i in the third place
thanks, have all the i words
oh, okay
7s: fi (fi 8); fl; fl; fl; mi; (mi 8) op; (pa8) pr; ra; re; re; sp; sp; (sp8)
you are correct JBV
unfortunately, it's because of my medical experience (not mine, my husband's) = we now know more than we wanted about internal anatomy
crones disease
I know anatomy too, just forget :-)
thanks BR
crohn's disease, that is
help with U words, don't have any
what about Crohn's disease, BR
no, not crone's, long story starting with colorectal cancer and several operations in the last 4 years - he's amazing, doing very well right now, so we're not worried, just too much hospital experience
deals with the large and small bowel
I have un 6/24 - like the in 6/21 - opposite, I guess
good to hear he is doing well, JBV
That is great news for you and you husband.
thanks for the un6
thanks, peri - he is such an inspiration yet he does not like to share this story - does not want people oohing and aahing, etc. so you'll never tell him I mentioned it, OK?
never, my li** are sealed
As long as he talks to you.
help with ra7 please
well, I'm the at-home nurse so there are not too many secrets between us right now (after 30 years of marriage I thought we were close, but this is another level of intimacy)
he is lucky to have you, JBV

afternoon babblers!1!!!!
watching a creepy episode of Dr. Phil
why creepy, lil?
thanks
there's a man who changed himself into a woman, and he and his 2 ex=wives are on the show, plus his 2 daughters
anything containing Dr. Phil is creepy
does that work for you?
that is pretty weird
ooh i'm watching that too monkey.
the father says his daughters have to call him Mom or Aunt Michaela
i'm pretty open minded but i have to say gender issues like this stretch me
it's creepy... plus that guy is a VERY UGLY chick
lol
i would have to say, if children are involved, the transgender surgeon should JUST SAY NO
this man is so selfish
i might agree with that. aside from that tho, he handled it Poorly. telling the girl on her bday? showing up at the other's work as a chick out of the blue?? he's got More than 'gender issues'. Issues = Capital I
he just told his 21 year old daughter that he is happier now as a woman, not being her dad
see that's where it's totally wrong IMO. he will Always be "her dad"
Dr. Phil is now ripping him a new as*hole
doing what he does best. :) i *heart* Dr Phil and don't get all the criticism against him. he just enlightens with common sense, which a surprisingly large amt. of people seem to lack
i agree saintfranny, and hello, by the way. I don't think I have met you before
:) heya. i've been around for several years, but tend to lurk a lot. plus usually on later.

that is so sad
so true...but did i answer the question kje?
not done yet nut!
I'm at the shameless plugging part
hmmm - I don't think benny hill music could have made that kid funny - but might have made him scarier : )
that's not shameless! that's the whole point of the show...promoting this site.
true kje, that's why i didn't benny hill him, but i thought i needed to stick him in
no - I'm talking about promoting babblecast - LOL
whoa - glad you did, though it makes me depressed
logic time kje...if you don't promote babblecast, then other people won't listen, then its not promoting this site
ok so i was only on for about 20 mins, but i am pooped, nigth all, my socks and i salute you
good night oh shoeless one
pulease!!! I tested outta logic class in college
*saluting shoeless with my big toe*
*nudges kje back into the logic classroom*
LOL
just promote the show and quit being a whiny baby
nut - is your fisher price head green?
I have you bookmarked...and have told everyone I know how wonderful babble is : )
I thought it could only be blue or ppink - how did you manage that
ok, good girl...but make sure you download instead of stream...it's downloads that you have to have to get ads
oooooohhhh
you should say that on the site
yeah...well, i don't think podango would take too kindly to that
besides, if everyone would just subscribe in something like itunes, then i wouldn't have to announce everytime a new show went up
just say something like... for best sound quality, download...
and when are you going to submit a short story kje?
OH, I'll do that, I'll add it to my podcasts in iTunes
what, me lie? when have i ever twisted the truth?
not a LIE
yay! and write a review too!
you sure? i think it might be.
I think it sounds better when not streamed - then if there is a blip in the server, you don't get interrupted : )
ok...i concede the point
i wonder how i update the feed on itunes?
searching for you on itunes...
Nut - It's typed and I'm about to send it to you.
ok jac, i might not read it till friday or saturday, is that ok?
there are two babblecasts in itunes...
That's fine, nut.
ok, good...now i think i'll go get me a bathy bath
**passing Nutty a loofah**
li 6/24 please
It's sent, Nut. Enjoy your bath.

lol, now you do !
not going to PB, I refuse, must finish grid before I go to bed
snap kje !
peri said a wooord - she didn't have yet
i LOVE david cook!!!

I have to go do laundry - watch out for aussie's side effects
3 columns all gray, 36 left
lol kje.... see you soon xx
one of the singers on american idol
need a break, bbs
lucky peri, I havent even greyed one box yet !
Ah, I see hursh !
now brooke is singing i'm a believer - i LOVE that song
me too.... **I take it we are talking about the song by The Monkees **
but, you know, after dunkey's version...
I hear her having difficulty in the low range
lot of them have troubles with the low notes
i dunno what it is this season with the low notes
i can't believe harrison ford did another indy movie. i mean i'm thrilled on the one hand. but on the other hand, i'm wondering if he had to spend hours in a hot tub every day after filming
they have to start that low so the high notes are where they can actually reach them, it's hard to sound great at both ends
jordin and melinda sounded good at both ends, as i recall
wondering the same thing hursh ! I LOVE the INdy Movies !
so part of the talent is knowing your own voice strengths and picking the right song in the right key
and of course having a great voice like jordin, melinda and so many others
i'm not sure why they keep saying that this year has so much more talent than ever before. i mean, melinda - that gal could do anything
Guten Abend, Babblers. Finally finished. After supper i discoverd that I had left 50 words for after sudoku and forgot. Well It is all made up. Is there a clueless babbler whom I can help?
i think she has more vocal talent than every other idol contestant put together
Guten Abend inge !
yes, danke, inge, I need pe 6/21, please
Hello inge! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
oh! just found it !! thanks anyway Inge!
Sorry, I had to refresh first to update my list. NOw I am open for business.
Hi MIn, I am fine, and you?
I'm doing well.I'm not going to finish the grid tonight
min's just a walking contradiction
lol hursh
Aww. Some words come vry easily, MIn
i could use a clue for fl7/44, inge
I have 145 words and 64 more words to go.I am very tired. I stayed up quite late last night playing Pinball.
Just here to say hi. Hi.
fl 7: 4 /7 + french ending, like chauff***
Hey Scrabbs... How is Bunny Callie ?
Oh, I guess I can type some words in.
fleur
Hi Scrabbler! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
Scrabbler, that was a clue for Hurshey!!!
Oops, shoot me.
its ok Scrabbs, its not a word !
thanks inge :) i saw the clue and got it before sc popped in
i was being stupid about the points
HI and thanks scrabbler
hi, all
hey herin !
Callie is currently chewing on the furniture. Apparently she wants some attention. She is no worse, but I do not expect her to live much longer.
hey pam !
Hi pam
h'lo pam-i-am
{{{[ Scrabbs and Callie}}}}
Hi Pam, and guten Abend Freundin Scrabbler! I forgive you
hi, herin and aussie, scrabs, and inge and hurshhhhhhhy
OH Scrabbler hunny. What is wrong with Callie?
i dunno if i didn't pay close enough attention to house last night, but it seemed a little scattered to me, what about you? and plus, GEEZ wilson, get a backbone already!
Every evening I clean her bottom and cover it with diaper rash cream, then give her 2 medications.
I'm back. ((Bunny hugs)) to Callie, Scrabbs.
awwww, it must be so hard Scrabbs !
LOL--I was SO irked at wilson!!!!!!!!! And, I missed something--think I was too brain-dead...so it was either scattered or I was...
LOL--I was SO irked at wilson!!!!!!!!! And, I missed something--think I was too brain-dead...so it was either scattered or I was...
JAC!
Callie is an old lady, with lower spine arthritis and a very weak left hind leg. She has a tilted hop and falls over a lot.
Did you manage to find any of the Avent Magic Cream Scrabbs ?
hurshy, we watched house also and felt the same
you know, with the calendula in ?
Scrabbs - it was a bit sad sending the remaining dry rabbit food etc., over to my daughter's friend who will be looking after the animals when we are all away on hol. (She has a bunny, too.)
Poor bunny. Hugs
I use "Triple Cream" or 40% zinc oxide, both of which work very well.
usually house episodes are so much more... put together... and satisfying... glad it wasn't just me.
Hi, pam. Hi Herin - welcome back.
Jac that would be hard. :(
Did someone in tis chat say once taht hamster live only four years? My granddaughter says that mine is four years old on fathers day
na 5 /12 please
((Flossy + Jacula))---very sad and tough!
thats good that it works Scrabbs...
four years is quite a long life for hamsters!
I can't remember Inge
Wow, Inge--the longest I ever had a hamster was 2 yrs 7 mo, and he died last Sept.
four years is so good for a hamster ....
I remember someone here used to do hamster dressing up
ruru, the na 5/12 is the water sprite who bubbles up every now and then
2-3 is the norm, i had a 3+ year one, that was quite long
g'evening folks
yes, I loved those icons
Scrabbs - Flossie had lived a very long and happy life for a bunny and was not disabled or ill when he died. I don't feel too bad about it. Just have to remember to stop bending down to his hutch and chatting to him, since he's no longer there.
That reminds me, I need to tape Law + Order:SVU---Robin Williams is on tonight's episode.
what just happened ?
erm, evening Eyes !
yikes
Evening K21.
thank you got the na 5
Ankhorite always has hamster icons, and some silly ones.
and um, is paula on drugs?
thanks for the reminder there, scrabs!
Hello, k21. I think you need less pressure on the send key. LOL.
Jac will you ever get another bunny? Not right now i don't mean to be insensitive.
can someone clue the pl 5/12 please
It is hard to lose a beloved pet. Very hard!
JBV what you fly in !
Herin - Not for now. We still have 5 guineas and a cat.
Very hard i agree Scrabbler even if its a fish.
I will never not have a bunny, at least until I get taken away to the assisted living home, hospital or morgue.
was there really an fl7?
any help with the 2nd RE 6/18? Pretty please
Ok Jac i didn't realise that you had guineas.
oh I have that one, aussie - there's one after that, thanks
Yes pam
Yes, it is very hard, herin. I miss my dog, China, terribly
ah, will have a look then JBV !
Scrabbler i can see you as a really old lady even in assisted living with a rabit.
((China + Pam))---she had a wonderful life with you, I am sure, Pam.
na 5 is an aquatic nymph
Maybe an assisted living home would let me keep a rabbit.
thanks, scrabs...
fl 7 - french word - start with Spanish dessert - and french ending - amat*** (not professional)
Excuse me i have to look up Feline Cystitis as someone peed on the floor this morning and i want to double check something
thanks, jbv
OK, I must take care of Callie, set the VCR, then get to bed. I was on-call last night and am tired.
Bye everyone.
well, then good night Scrabbler
Pam - It's about 13 years since Ihad to take my old dog on his fi5/16 journey. It's only now that I feel ready to find a new one.
{{{{lots of Bunny Hugs for Callie, and big hugs for Scrabbs}}} night night Scrabbs xx
i have never found someone attractive because of their singing ability before... sigh.
'Bye Scrabbs. Sleep well.
I can understand that, jac...
bye, scrabs...
Pam- actually, he or she will find me. My pets always seem to come to me that way.
does anyone have the 2nd RE 6/18?
found the pl 5, aussie - do you need it?
yes JBV !
it's an anagram of the thing you fly in - just switch the vowels!
Hugs scrabbler and callie
pahn - to bash a pointy metal thing in with a hammer again.
re 6/18 - hammer again
well, good grief !
thanks JBV !
ugh, i am an idiot, kje! thanks
pa 6/21 either one please
NICE poem today, kje...
was just thinking the same about the poem pam !
hmm, how about an OP clue?
! aussie... I love Paz...
thanks pam and aussie
ruru - 1st pa6/21 = pa** (ashen or wan) + Mr. Bundy or Mr. Gore.
pa 6/21 - french basket (usually spelled with a double consonant)
o + double consonant + vowel + Mr. Rathers
thnx, it took me a couple but finally got it.
ruru - 2ns pa6/21 is more glassy? Or a donkey basket with the middle consonant missing.
Um question of the day does any cat people know of cat fud that is good for cystistis?
thankee kindly kje
thanks, kje and jac
lately i have been reading that raw meat diets are the best, but they are complicated and expensive.
science diet c/d--here in the states, herin
is cystitis the crystal thingy? my boys eat c/d for that
I fed evo, which was grain free and human grade, to my dog because I didn't want to deal with raw...
hi, nut
but, i read stories where people's vets had told them to just put the cat down, and then the owner switched them to raw meat diet and they lived for years and got lots better.
hee haw.. don't get the donkey basket clue..
due to her cystitis and crystals, the cat has eaten c/d for over 4 years and is doing great
hi pam
i just started mine on a brand called "life's abundance" which i read is next best for cats if you aren't doing raw - has more protein and fewer carbs, and higher quality ingredients. no decaying meat, for instance...
Herin - your cat needs to see a vet first to be sure of the cause. Then you can add 250mg of vitamin c per day to canned cat food. Himalayan Salt is another thing you can use.
not a pot but a p** + me myself and * + **, a hospital drama on NBC, ruru
Hi Nuttie. Yes she peed outside her box and i will watch her and stuff but i just wanted to find out what wet food would be good for her.
I wish I had known that before the crystals took over, jac... now she needs the special food....
has the cat been checked for bloakages/stones?
High protein, no carbs herin...
Jac i rang the vet It just happened once. She could have just had and accident.
got it thank you pam
i didn't know girl cats could have blockages too...i thought it was just boy cats
sure ruru!!!!!!!!
human females are more prone to UTIs, so i don't know why it would be different in cats
Evan girls are known for it. My old girl kitty had a problem. She is still runnning about like a dumb arse and not yowling at nothing
My cat is a girl cat, nut, and she started getting crystals a VERY long time ago...
yes girlies get it too...also should see what the crystal composition is....would help in coming up with a tx
hmmm...my vet told me blockages were more common in the boys
herin, I just found this.....
Cystitis can also be caused by stress. Stress may be a result of a change in environment e.g. moving house, a new addition to the home e.g. anything from furniture to a new pet, visitors, a change in diet or even the weather.
david archuletta isn't a person, he's a perfected image of the 1950s. i love him, but he's so funny
might be more common--that's what I was told, too--but my girsl has one!!!!!
any clues for the ra 5/14 - there are 2 of them, I have neither
my cat pees outside the box
lol peri
my cats pee out of the litter box if they don't think its clean enough
you make it sound like a good thing for a job interview
sometimes they use a cath for a short period of time to try and get rid of the blockage
i think outside the box....
the first ra 5 is a man's name
Good point, nut.
thanks for that, inge, i remember that now from another grid
could it be cystitis, she had kidney/bladder infection several years ago and has been peeing outside the box some of the time since then
the second ra 5 is a water fall , Grand RA***s, Michigan
Cat's are very fussy about their litter tray and also doin't like sharing it. Ideally, they should have one each which is cleared of solid matter daily (or more) and thoroughly changed and washed out every 3-4 days.
one cat, one litter box
Herbal remedies include Dandelion, Parsley, Bearberry and Watercress (taken as infusions). To prepare an infusion: Add 1tsp of the dried herb, to one cup of boiling water. Leave to stand 20 minutes then strain. Give 2 tsps twice daily with food for a week (when the cat has an acute infection). Make a new infusion every 2 days. Chinese Medicine: 1 tsp of hops diced finely and added daily to the cat’s food. Homeopathy: Cantharis (acute dosage) for acute painful cystitis. Causticum, Equistetum and Thlaspi Bursa (chronic dosage) for persistent cystitis.
also found that too herin !
I don't mean to sound gross but my cats dirt box is so clean that you could eat out of it
Most cats eventually die from re5/10 failure, brought about by the fake diet we give them of tinned and dried foods. Dried are the worst culprits for this.
*feels bad for the non-US folks, who can't get a cat genie yet*
of uh, i feed my cat canned and dry food
Herin - is it so clean that it stinks of disinfectant (to a cat). Cats HATE that smell and will avoid it.
an6/21 please
inge, I thought the ra 6 would be a plural, but can't find it, can you clue that also?
No i don't use dissinfectance
I have been cleaning out the litter box using a homemade mixture of distilled water, castille soap and some teatree oil.
But I will just use castille soap or ivory liquid from now on
an6.21 an + **n (where you put deceased ashes) + mr. gore
Once a week i clean it out with a small dash of laundry stuff that i have always used (safe stuff you can eat it if you want) and every time she uses the box its scooped out.
thank you
Hurshy what is a cat genie?
it is a self-washing, self-drying cat waste miracle!
Ok i have seen it that would be useless for fuzz but she must dig to CHina
ra6/16 ..... ra + 3rd vowel, stick letter + 2nd vowel + 20th letter
you can get the dome to keep the granules in
i mean you can't cause i don't think they are shipping to australia yet
OH i like that idea. My friend in the states uses the Litter Robot.
If your litter tray (or any pet place, or even your own loo) gets stained with hard pee crystalline deposit, you can use citric acid (or boiled lemons) to remove it.
i can't believe i used to live without a cat genie...
thanks again aussie that was the ra 6/18, I need the 6/24
ra 6/21 # 2 please
My surviving cat never uses the litter tray unless he's got no choice. Dunno whose garden he goes in, but it's not mine.:(
a clue for the mi6 before the runner, please?
hey Jac...does that work on walls from boy pee from being half asleep and having bad aim?
jacula...you dog you!!!
ra6/21 think ires, ruru.
Jac but your kitty is a tad gross
Hurshy works well then? THat is good
*tires
have that need the other
My old cat would lift her skirts, so to speak (she was long-haired), and charge in from outside to 'go' in the tray in private. She was a re4 lady!
yep, it's a rockin' good thing
I need the second ra 6/21 please
K21 - Yes, it works.
same leters except for the last.
BzznBea I have all the m's and there's no mi 6 before the runner
Jac, I'm sitting hear reading this story and thinking OMG I can't read this in the show!
ruru, that's the one i've been asking for too......
Nut you sneaky
Hurshy thats good
ok, wait, you have a HUMAN peeing on the wall? it sounds like you have bigger problems than can be solved with citric acid
all this kitty talk made me go and scoop, LOLOL
Ferrats do that
LOL, Hursh. Most males misaim once in a while.
ra6/21 is the same letters as the 1st ra6/21 except for the last letter.
Jac my aunts dog used to walk on his front legs so he wouldn't get his 'dingle' wet on the grass.
oh, I still need the ra 6/24, please
LOL, Herin. My old dog did that in his older years, too.
i hope you at least hand HIM the lemons and make HIM clean it!!!
Good point, hursh!
got it thanks
THis was one of those rat dogs.
How about the mi5/14 after the miler.
Mind you, if there are 2 resident males and one who visits frequently, how do you know which one to hand the lemons to?
JBV: eminem, eg
BBea said a wooooorrrrdddd !!
mi 5/14 - first 3 letters of runner, then not ma but **
Well butter my buns and call me a biscuit!
oh, thanks, hursh!!
so who's up for some quantum leap on ION?
ok, now i can finish, american idol is off
BBea is a biscuit !!

well it has quantum leap reruns, and who's the boss reruns... need i say more, really?
clever, jac!!!!
ruru, when you can't poop, you may have re*** failure
LOLOL, nope, say no more, hursh
rur - re5/10 - to do with the kidneys.
even though that was a good clue that went right over my head
gosh, I remember Who's The Boss !!
Let me guess all those R words at the bottom are RE
Thanks, pam. And there was me just about to clue an 'unborn egg' clue. LOL
Yes AUssie
re-fish me
nah, go for the virginal...
re5/10 has nothing to do with POOP...
really had not thought of that word since highschool jacula, brings back memories
lol
*8passing ruru more herring**

*stung like a bee.
y/w, ruru.
i have one of the si 6/18 - not sure if it's the first or second - looks like quiet with a vowel at the end - need the other si 6/18 - clues, anyone?
floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee !!
that is a wooord? I'd almost rather be stung...
si6 - some one taking small drinks
have that one, Bzzn, that's 6/24
Aussie - floated. I knew that was wrong! Thanks.
the one I need is before that
lol Jac !
si + small road
Aussie i am and also ni am so unpure i don't get the virginal clue
Both si6/18s have a vowel at the end. 1st is si + country road, 2nd is same but with a personal pronoun at the end.
greetings babblers
thank you! I could've sworn I tried that
and thanks, Jacula
hi Cordelia
Herin - the un6/24 - think of an unborn egg. The hen hasn't deposited it yet.

I might lick one, dont know if I will like it herin !
ruru - s + another word for a heap.
sp 5 /21 - s + a stack or a heap (pi 4)

you're in rare form, Jac
See pick on me day pick on the one thats blond is showing
Speaking of which, I was sent a good joke earlier... hang on and I'll post it.
thank you.. does it relate to the sp7?
Inner Peace I am passing this on to you because it worked for me, and we all could use more calm in our lives. By following the simple advice I heard on a medical TV show, I have finally found deep inner peace. A doctor proclaimed the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started. So, I looked around my house to see things I started and hadn't finished and, before leaving the house this morning I finished off : a bottle of Merlot a bottle of Shhhardonay a bodle of Baileys a butle of vocka a pockage of Prunglies tha mainder of bot Prozic and Valum scriptins the res of the tchesescke an a box a choqolettss. Yu haf no idr who gud I fel.
there are 2 sp 7's - the first is breed of dog
first sp7 is a type of dog, ruru, cocker sp7 comes to mind as well as a brittany
LOL jac
oh lol Jac !!
Like your book selection, BTW, jac
have that one need the second sp 7
lol...now those are words to live by
OK there was a US speaker that said 'to expensive to pay of their loans' but his accent sounded to me like 'pay of their lungs.'
Spangle is one
kje - I thought you meant on Goodreads for a moment, then I realised you meant my icon.
2nd sp7 is like the fake sugar, but change 2nd to last letter to to 3rd vowel
second sp 7 looks like it might be related to a body part, ends in 2 vowels
sp 7 - related to the spleen - ends in 2 vowels...then add stick for 8
i need some of that ( Inner Peace) it may help me finish this grid
thanks, kje
splendid... thanks
I LOVED Isable Allende's latest, jac... The Sum of Our days...
*Pours a glass of Merlot, for starters, for crpw.*
I have one un 6/24 (the non-virginal one) - what's the other, please?
Don't think I have updated goodreads yet...

Pam - I've not re4 any of that author's books yet, but I have so many books stacked up to re4. Have watched first 4 episodes of 'Dexter' with my son and we're both loving it. Wish I hadn't clicked on Wickepedia, which has a spoiler in it. GRRR! However, I'd like to read the novels by Jeff Lindsay.

I have 2 6s and a 4 whats its lenght please
pe+ what you do with a book minus last letter
oops, i slipped a word in their...apologies
I define a book i love by the fact it is just held together from being read so much
cordelia - just red several on poemhunter.com - I like her, will pick up a book - thanks!
Oh, meeting does help!!!! I can read ee cummings' lectures regardless of my mood....
Pam - 1st novel was Darkly Dreaming Dexter, 2nd is Deearly Devoted Dexter and te 3rd (out on 24th July) is Dexter in the Dark. Supposed to be far more grim than the TV series.
OH... forgot that Dexter started as a novel, LOLOLOL
ee is a tough (at least, for me) but worthwhile read
pe 6 please.. can't monkey it
i "got him" right away, cordelia... I did like him more as I got older, but even in jr high school, he moved me...ts eliot, too...
Aussie -is that one of your fave books, too? Don't tell me I'e got to read in a full Yorkshire, when I find the software on my pc? Can't I do the full Yorkshire version of Lady Chatterley in the woods with the gamekeeper instead? LOL

I meant to add more to my blog tonight. I think it's going to have to wait until later now.
hello all -- just dropping in for a minute now -- wanted to give those of you who heard about the horrible "starving dog art" to get an update from Snopes, the urban legends site which investigates such matters. The verdict on this one is UNDETERMINED and if you wan to read all about it, see http://tinyurl.com/4rgdz2. And if you want to check out the latest rumours, go to http://tinyurl.com/6h3lk. Whatever, the way to check out what you get in your inbox is to go to www.snopes.com
theres no Y in the grid lex !
Hi, jilli. I saw that story. Didn't know what to make of it.
hi and thanks, Jilli
well, going to go to bed now... I am so tired..... It 20 to 3am !! so time to go to sleep !
sweet dreams Babble Family.....
i'm not sure if i can check that out...it might disturb me
well, jac, now you can check it out -- stay tuned!
nite aussie :)
it's very disturbing but there's apetition going
'Night, Aussie.
night aussie!
**poof**
ick, jilli...just checked it out...the pic just about broke my heart
Jilli - you are thrashing me in our latest game on Facebook, as is feather. *wilts in an appealing feminine, daughterlike fashion in the hope that it will disarm her opponents.*
nighty night, aussie
*A false hope, she knows already!"
hi jilli (the only one of us that can post her own book for this theme - impressed)
You crawler, you, kje! LOL
hey Babble friends :) Is everyone done with this grid?
I am, Mama. Dunno about the rest.
hi mama...i'm not even close to finishing
crawler?
How many words tonight
kje, I had a hard time choosing my REALLY favourite book -- Just So Stories, all the AAMilnes including the poem ones I adore, Alice... yes, I know, kid stuff, but are they?
hoper hope
kje - it was a joke about what you said to Jilli.
209 jule
still loooking for 100and some
I just don't know what a crawler is - besides like a night crawler which is a wrom?
MaMaWa, I have all of 58 words but haven't had time today to get any more.
Nce book, jilli! 8-)
jilli - So-called 'kid's' stories, if they are well thought out, work on many levels. If you're clever when you right them, you also appeal to the adults who will be reading them to younger children.
Jac has lots of writing to her credit but she is too modest to mention it
jilli - in general, I hate choosing my favorite anything - so confining : )
Hear hear, kje
I NEVER could pick a fave... franny & Zooey? Garp for what it mean to me? any of th ebooks I re4 last week? Waaay too many options...
i was catching up in the chat and all a bout who read what when, I read the Hobbit long ago (35YRS) and several times since. Did anyone ever read WAtership Down?
kje - I meant a creep/ar*se licker, sycophant.
Jac has been holding out? - are you an author Jac?
I did, Ma
I liked it, mAmA
ooooh - a brown noser - that's what we'd say here
jac's an author, kje...
EEK! write them, not right them! What did I TYPE? aaargh!
Me too and reread ? it several times I read alot and many books over and over
Pam - did I give you permission to blow my cover? You naughty girl!
LOLOL, jac! Can't blame a greengrocer for that!
don't you right them, too, jac? 8-)
HMM Jac have I read any of yours?
wasn't watership down about animals - or am I confusing it with Rabbit Hill
Other than babble chog? lol
about rabbits if I'm remembering correctly
It was about rabbits
Yeah - I think I read that one
weell the characters were rabbits,
you're remembering correctly, kje, and the use of experimental animals
I'm back....still with 96 words left.
but about much more
Hiya red ;)
Why can you be a playwright or a millwright but you can't actually wright something?
a hint for the an 6, 21? Please
Watership Down is a brilliant book. My daughter wrote to the author to say how much she'd enjoyed it and he sent her a very long hand-written letter back and a printed map of where everything was.
Hi mama.
I have to go and get supper, as usual (leftover stirfry)
very nice of him, jac!
hi, red
an+a mountain range
good question tor, and HI!
It made a huge impression on me when i was young and read it
I've written to authors to show my appreciation since I was about 5. It's not very often I've had an impersonal reply.
Hi, torg. No idea!
working on it, thanks Granma, and Hi Pam!
I have 3 left and need your help. 2 S's and 1 M. Anyone game?
Hi guys .. Just one of those weird werd things ..
I agree Jac most are all too happy to interact with anyone who takes the time to correspond
Jac, I LOVED The Secret Garden and was totally enchanted by a friend of my grandmother who had created a "secret garden" on the grounds of her home in Louisiana . . . she had speakers in the trees and we would go visit . . . and I danced in her gardens to Debussy!
Sorry, gramma, I haven't a clue, much less 150 words, lol
Oh thanks anyway
do you know which ones gramma?
fe 5/18?
Oh - has anyone read Mandy - by (believe it or not) Julie Andrews Edwards - very along the lines of secret garden
Oh Une!!! I wish I'd had a grandmother! "Specially one like that!
Speaking of animals used in experiments... there was a book I loved as a child all about animals who had escaped from a lab... 'The Long Journey' or something like that.
fe + pan top
secret of Nihm??
The last SP6 and the last MI8.
thnx, Kje
Jilli, my grandmother's friend, Emma Louise Biedenharn had sung opera in Europe and was so lovely and magical to me!
Une - I dream of having a garden like that!
mi 8 to beg wrongly
last mi8 - give the wrong answer in court
Jac - seriously go check out Mandy - you'll love it
to put peanut butter on bread you must sp* it
There was an article recently (in Time?) about how terribly hard it is for the people who care for lab animals, but those animals are heroes who have saved many human (and other animal) lives.
iwas so disappointed when Narnia came out as a movie and it wasnt the whole saga but now see where the caspian yrs are about to hit theatres
The last sp6 s what you do with butter or margarine to put it on bread.
I remember a small tree in her garden that was covered in bells she had brought back from her travels . . .
ty
gotta run--BBL
Oh you guys Rock! ty
Or, I could give a very coarse clue for te last sp6.
time to leave for now, methinks. Back later.
let's not jac : )

See you later, jilli. You blew my cover, too. Dormez bien mon ami.
Night jilli ..

Yes please, jilli.
I'll be back apres diner.

Oh drat! Jilli's heard of that jolie jac song.
*bye
time to head out. see you all tomorrow, i hope
bye lbd
you knew that, jac :)
I'm not admittin nuffink. LOL
Heh .. I love craigslist ..abalony! Ha!

Is the mi connected to the PL**?

you pl**d? and you're ***sing something?
Gramma - listen to Babblecast in the next few days to hear one of my old stories back from 1991. I'm sure Nut will re4 it far better than I would have done.
MaMaWa, you've got it. Mi = plural consonant + your pl word
Okay I figured out the mi was missing the last letter
Jac, I don'tknow what Babblecast is.8(
crp I personally dislike the re words and still havent found all of them lol
Hang on, gramma. I'll give you the link. I'm not in there yet, though,
http://www.podango.com/feeds/feed.php? pid=2668
I have the re's, who needs help?
an 6?
This is an easier link, gramma: http://tinyurl.com/47w6vw
an+ mountain range
I only have 2 re and dont know what to ask for KrisE but give me a sec I am going to the list TY
an4/4 = look BEHIND you!
an5/10 = a + not far.
Alrighty then are all the r

gramma - try my 2nd attempt with the tiny url aaddress which is one one line so only requires on hit.

lex - an** retentive
lex - your behind is your re**.
Well done, phan!
I must go soon, my ability to type seems to be impaired.

I tried to get the thing men pee into, but of course that's not there
Last time I did a long trip (to Crete) my legs and ankles swelled. That may have been due to 7 hours in the airport beforehand and a dawn landing in Crete rather than a 1am landing.

not getting the double vowel ending on ur6 - sorry
good for you Bzz
pa8 is a grammatical word. Think of the army guys who jump from the sky, then add what you do with a spade in the garden, then add the first letter of the name ou give to the woman who gave birth to you.
nm - got it. thx!
serveral countries have this pair of vowels as an ending

re 6.21 please?
i am watching"carrier" which is on until Thursday night.
to put down again, dorens, or the other one?
i'm watching it too, TO, much better than watching to see who gets voted off the island, right?
to have put down again, rather
the new 39 steps or the old one dorens?
tonight was a real departure - not so much peyton place, more business
i realize the new one is actually pretty old!
after putting down again. and the new one... on broadway
re 6.21 is either re + put down or re+ what you do in court
i feel sorry for the guy who's gf hasn't emailed him!
did you like it?????
hm, got re7 from you rhozee, but it won't take teh present tense

august: osage county?
yes.... collette is raving about it
it's gotten rave reviews . . .

until i can afford to come back, you'll have to "represent" at all the great shows! :-)
i will see august... but will wait for you to come and see thurgood with you
no . . . it's a very limited run . . . sigh
39 steps is on broadway? lol that means i can drive 300 miles to see it in Spokane, about 2010!

harp, it's fabulous--won awards in London--London cast came here with the show
