did I tell you my hubby finally agreed to have a doggy come fall? He told the kids, they are so happy. And we approached some breeders with a list of carefully thought-out questions. Got some stupid reactions, some good ones and a very good one from a breeder that is only 30 minutes away from here!

we decided upon a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. From a good breeder who checks out the parentage of the dogs for the inbred illnesses.
best of luck spritey...and although I'm not that knowledgeable, I would think that summertime is the best time vis a vis housebreaking...
high maintenance Sprite but adorable little creatures that become very close to their family my girlfriend breeds them
oh wonderful, lobo! They are darlings, aren't they. And high maintenance... well, only in cuddles and attention and brushing and such. They are also very happy to be lazy at times, like all spaniels :)

no, though that did not help things. It is related to my living with ptss for whole my life and not knowing it. I have lived on my will power alone for so long, that I exhausted myself. Got severely depressed, burned up etc. And I am physically handicapped, which does not help things much. Will take years to find my way back.

DE works well on soft-bodied creatures, the spiky bits annoy them. Doesn't work well in a rainy area, though. So we use that in the summer to create a barrier around the beds, and hand-pick the slugs that are inside. That works okay most of the time. But not on really large areas (like where I have my hostas)

The problem with panicking over "grubs" is that some of them are beneficial. You don't want to just kill everything, because the plants need some of the critters to do well.
