Hi ru!
Hi ru! We're winning the couch wars!
lol. you are?
hi ruru
Oh hi Mary. Thanks and yw.
hi jilli.. hi m9
thanks Neil, once again
Yep. Check today and yesterday's updates on profile, ru... links there. Pretty funny.
yw flosey.
could you explain to me neil. how the hell Newt is still in the race?
Ours competitor's is much nicer than ours too, lol.
You think I can explain that, ru? You're asking the WRONG person.
huge ego?
i listened to his q/a tonight and was astonished that he's planning on winning several states in short order
I can't imagine that they won't run out of insults before the end of June
Here ru... here's the page I posted about the competition: http://bit.ly/yxoO1p
I'm even more astonished that it's actually possible for him to do that. WTF is wrong with people?
ah -- that shoelace thing is here -- haven't seen it in ages
you're not in knots about it are you jilli?
knot me, ru
naw.. she pulled herself up by her bootstraps
I knew you wouldn't be a loafer
Then here's our couch and Szubski's, side by side: http://tinyurl.com/6tllzhs
even though you're a heel?
His is nicer... ours is winning. lol
but not an arch enemy!
do you have no sole m9? jeez
we must keep our tongues in our mouths
80 down -- good night, all :)
Did you get those links ru?
but I'm on manmade uppers!
yes..I'll check them out
Ok.
I've gotta get in step with y'all...

Hi scouser!
scouser is toeing the line
hi scouser
so long as we toe the line.
Hi Neil. we got you off politics for two minutes
LOL m9
SNAP!
I was just gonna use "toeing" but you beat me to it ru.
Oh well.
me and rex ryan
I rarely even mention that topic in the chog, scouser.
*coughs*
What's in my profile, you read at your own risk. :P
*coughs again for extra measure*
But I don't generally discuss it in the chog. At least I don't bring up the subject in the chog that much... others do though.
*hack*
Cough all you want ru, but that's how it is. I'm not usually starting discussions on that subject.
wow... our cat Tai Tai is running about like a little maniac. She's not usually playful like that.. at least I THINK she's being playful...
You started it, not me.
lol
you're right I did
I do tell you to check updates about it, yeah. But that's about as much as I usually "discuss" it in here.
"not I" (ducks)
back to the grid: today's moan - in here there are words ending in -le why isn't there the matching one that starts with fa? usually has new in front
Doesn't seem to be popular discussion material... or too appropriate, due to differing opinions, shall we say.
Ok Neil. hands up, and toes. here
puleeeeease
Huh, ru?
and my usual moan.. it doesn't take "thang" LOL
Well I've had complaints, for responding when others have brought up the subject!
is that a verb or a noun?
too bad for them neil.. it's the real world
Doesn't matter..LOL "it
your thang...do what you wanna do.."
next line any one??
(can't remember)
Yeah I know. But once someone else brought something I'd posted in an update into the chog, taking exception with me over it... I shouldn't have even responded but I did, only to have a few others jump all over me for it, because they didn't agree with the fact stated in it.
"I can't tel you...."
"who to sock it to"
I believe in free speech
That's when you start to wonder where Scotty is when you need him... you know?
Yep. And I didn't put them down for their opinions.
But their behavior was another matter.
hi
sometimes words get misinterpreted here.. it happens
Hi sammysmom.
who is Scotty?
hi
You know... "Beam me up, Scotty!" ?

I was off watching this: http://tinyurl.com/3pdyhkn LOL
jil i laughed when i say your theme tonight-.. when my son was 2 or 3... he loved to pee on everything... including my neighbor's flowers.
is it me or is anyone else lost in this grid?
i's here ru
were the flowers peonies?
that would explain his behaviour
not my theme, smom -- sprite chose it!
oh god, ru
mostly tulips ru... i can still her fanny holling ........ your valter,,,, he's vatering mine tulips!!
LOL
we were at the beach once..and picking blackberries. My brother felt something on his ankle..turns around and there's our nephew (about 4) "Ralph?? Can I pee on you?"
when i "spoke" to him about it he gave me a sweet smile and said ok ma.......... and promptly went to the neighbor on the other side of and watered her roses
Grooooooooooooooooooovy! http://tinyur l.com/ygjsurv
http://tinyurl.com/ygjsurv
he misunderstood.. that this is yeruncle.. and instead took it as urinal m9
Weird how this sometimes breaks up URLs even when there's plenty of room on one line.
That must be it, ru!
But I thought you were going? You said "goodnight" to me a little while back didn't you?
i think that what the like to do at that age m9... discovering a penis and what it can do is a wonderful thing for a little boy
bet M9's brother was flushed with pride
Oh god. :P\
Ugh. *swats ru*
*ducks*
gives a whole new meaning to eau de toilette?
*looks down at the boundary he crossed*
Wow Neil! Groovy yes.. but they're all just wannabees! Stick with this til 1:22 http://tinyurl.com/3lm56c heh heh
hmm.. don't wanna know how you drew that line in the sand ru.
whiz not?
er I mean why not?
ah.. to pee or not to pee....
:P Mary.
C'mon... they're sooo groovy!
catheter got your tongue???
I know.. I was bideting my time
ROFL m9
when he was 8.. he like to practise snow writing....... he is 42 now and i do not keep tarack of what he does with it
UGH! *swats ru even harder*
HAHAHAHA
( I think he likes it Neil)
I'm going to bed. Goodnight all -- peace.
Night jilli
nite jill.. be well
night jilli..sorry for the madness
Or should I have said peece?
lol
ROFL
Yeah.. if you want ru to stop jilli..just try jiggling the handle,
she's such a squirt .. that jilli
Here at Babble we believe in the trickle down theory.
ROFL
so some of it's gonna hit ya
that depends m9
if we're not careful I'm gonna need some of those!!!
we'll go ahead and pamper yourself
aww.... what a charmin suggestion
Which reminds me of a true story. When we were newlyweds in our first apartment, we had my cousin and his wife over for dinner. Our toilet need that handle treatment, and when cousin went to use it I said "Don't forget to jiggle it when you're through." Raucous laughter ensued.
dammmmm we're punny tonight
Haha, jilli!
ROFL!!
love it jill
No matter how you shake and dance...
the last drop always lands in your pants.
You'd laugh at some of my dad's comments in his updates, ru.
And now...*poof
me too.. time for me to plunge in bed
Like this for example: @milestougeaux: A brilliant strategist, Gingrich is withholding claim of Romney's illegitimate black child on welfare until weekend before super Tuesday - 4 days ago
that's funny
maybe in a TIffany's storeroom?
Haha!

thanks.. that's what I needed
Okay pajama boy.. have a nice night
My typing deterioriates more and more, the more tired I become. Yep, pajama boy is off to bed!
*giggle*
You too ru... take care.
52 to go and pretty backed up.
down to 20 , thanks to Neil's list
must get to bed, goodnight to anyone still here
hi and nbt
night flosey. pajama boy still here? night all and fireworks here. Hi Joshua
hello pearl r u there
hi and goodnight to joshua, scouser and Aaronitor - was just off reading emails
all real words in here today - no Babblets
hi all
Hi Aaronitor
have u all got snow where u r
I think there will always be a few odd ones scouser but today's is pretty good
no snow here, have had two beautiful, sunny days
no we had 1mm sleet which has frozen onto windscreen and it looks icy out there. rained all day yesterday.
here is absolutely loaded with it, it was snowing all day yesterday and all last night so its just a white sheet
is it "proper" snow Aaronitor?
yes it is "proper" snow
for playing in?
sort of its not deep enough to make a snow man but there is enough to have a snowball fight
goodly
scouse-land is often protected from snow. Last year we had lots at Christmas - only.
weve had an odd few snow storms but it was never dry enough for it to lie bt this paticular one has taken its revenge and lied
got to go cya
byee all
Bore da - good morning
and bye Scouser
bore da to yu glanta! I was just lurking, trying to get a few words in
bye to scouser's back!
i have just arrived Ruby
Do you have snow Ruby?
we had about a foot of snow but then it got REALLY cold, about -9C, 10F?
Unusual for here
the house is freezing an husband is laid up
It snowed all day yesterday, but only about an inch settled.
part of you is in the grid!
This house is freezing too - but that's because the heating system is broken
So I see ;)
*poof*
Bye Ruby
could i have a clue for the 8 (not co8/55) please
sorry jenny, don't have it
but I'd appreciate a clue fo the co8/55 ;)
Hi Glantarell. Was here earlier and left to go to sleep, but I'm back for a little bit.
Hi Neil
found the co8/55
co8,55 -- co + a******, meaning to ire, irritate, etc.
co8/55 thinking and add a d for the 9
oh I found the one which means to mull over, think about
and the pl
sorry, *pt*
And the de8,55 Jenny -- de + making someone very happy?
sorry: d + making someone very happy.
I'm very tired so excuse errors in cluing.
ty Neil
Tired but happy: we're still winning the couch war!
yw Glantarell :)
couch war?
Yep. See my latest updates on profile.
From today, yesterday and the day before.
Links are there too.
Here's the page I posted about it: http://bit.ly/yxoO1p
I see. I voted
Wow, thanks! :)
Here's our couch beside our competitor's: http://tinyurl.com/6tll zhs
Admittedly his is nicer... nicer abode too. But is his photo funnier? I think not.
I agree on the funny front
Haha yeah. I look like I'm on prozac there.
A little too happy for a "negative" Neil huh?
I was thinking your friend on prozac, you on amphetamines LOL
Huh? My g/f doesn't really even look happy there.
just landed temporarily on the couch after bouncing off the walls...
Haha!
don't think prozac makes you happy, more zoned out LOL
Oh maybe. Dunno. Never been on it.
Everyone seems to think it's the "happy pill" though.
I had a brief dabble with it last autumn
Oh, ok. You'd know more than me then.
actually it doesn't make you zoned out, it just gradually improves your outlook
So sure, let's go with amphetamines then, why not?
Well that's good... sounds better than some other antidepressants I've heard about.
and of course I'll never know if it was the pills which heloped or the fact that the ass**** got out of my life!
Ah ok. Probably more the latter!
;)
Actually, Glant?
actually what?
"Before diagnosing yourself with depression or low self esteem first make sure that you are not in fact surrounded by assholes." -- One of my favorite quotes, haha!
ah, I wasn't exactly surrounded by them but the one I had was certainly surrounding me being being one in various areas of my life...
I saw it a while ago and just had to go looking for it again to share with you. ;)
He is now in New Zealand, the house is sold, and the divorce may even have finalised by now...
Well I hope you're free of all that now?
Oh good!
That's far enough away.
The only thing I have left ot resolve in my house purchase, which is still hanging ion the balance - should know tomorrow if I am to move in next Sunday or walk away form the whole thing
sorry about the typos - brain wokrs faster than fingers
Oh wow. Wishing you the best of luck with that!
Yep. I make enough of them so I read them well.
there's evidence that we all do as long as the first and last letters of a word are in the correct places
Yep. I've read that one and it's funny.
I was able to read that entire paragraph easily.
me too
well, I'm half way, so off to enjoy the day - finish in the evening - hope you get back to sleep
*poof*
Just sent you a funny joke, Glantarell.
Except it bounced. The email address in your profile doesn't work.
And you're gone I guess... and so am I again.
Hello, all. Late start, tonight - oops, already 'tomorrow'.
morning all

hello sheila
Hi there from snowy North London
hehehe snowy here as well. It is very pretty. I hope it won't last too long though.
i have co7,40......
first 3 letters are the same
The 8 and 9 end in past tense of eat
just got it :)
Enforced eight weeks at home waiting for eyes to adjust before cataract surgery. Need big grids!
wtg! cool words. Hello Molly
Hope the surgery goes well Shelia
oh sheila :( I am so sorry. I bet you'll need lots of distraction. Can you read a little or is that too tiring?
Thanks. Counting down to 7 March
Can use the iPad for a short while but using it for Babbling
recorded books maybe? Will keep my fingers crossed for you, both that time will go fast and that the operation will go smoothly.
Oh, this is interesting- the word list is entering my words twice!
Double double the fun fun
hi Kaplan, you get the royal treatment?
How kind.
It gave me two of the same wi4 bird thing, and two of the noose treatment.
i'd prefer two wi4a over the noose things.
*wi4s
help for the g in the left column?
The big bad guy who chased Beanstalk Jack
BIG person.
gi6: a kind of booze + a kind of girl
thank you :)
thanks for the big one
And a g6 that rhymes with the sound sleigh bells make
yw
And the other g pls
From the left
from that tile? There are two clues for it.
how about the t in the fourth row?
the things you chew with
Presumed both clues were for same word. N being letter three?
and drop a vowel from that one
yes sheila
A type of dance, t in the 4th row
the dance is from the T in the 2nd row though
Okay, I'm done cluing now.
Keep trying gingle
sheila, make those last 3 letters into a short word for girl
how can things be new fangled if fangle isn't a word?
How many letters?
hi hursh.
I was looking for moose things: antlers?
eyes aren't so great
sheila: gi6. First 3 = booze. Last 3 = colloquial girl
hi ruby. Close, but no cigar :)
Sprite - got that but can't see the other
I'll have that cigar, please
the other from that tile? That is the BIG person.
*hands ruby a cigar and tells Freud to stuff it*
hahah
So obvious!
and deta6 is a word. not just unta6, because you can buy deta6r.
I thought it might warm me up; it's extremely cold here
thanks for the t's :)
coldest in 15 winters!
babble blindness, sheila. We all know that :)
N?
Ruby, how is your husband? I looked for news yesterday, but didn't see any.
I will borrow Molly's clue: N + Past tense for a word meaning beer
ty sprite and molly :)
*grin* yvw
he is no better, but then I blacked out and fell on Friday, and when his doctor came, he got scared when he saw me.
I don't know if I blacked out from hitting my head when I fell or if I blacked out and then fell
It looks like a pig has been slaughtered in the bathroom where I fell
um so i assume you are babbling from hospital????
OMG, ruby, are you ok???
no, I'm OK, I think, but the doc ordered immediate bloodwork
oh Ruby! What did you hurt?
I've never blacked out before, but my bBP is VERY low
glad you're ok but jeezomeez!!
luckily, I made one of my spectacular landings, so hurt multiple places rather than breaking something
aw sweetie, darn :( That is not ok. Until they find the cause or a cure, pls be very careful? Slowly getting up and down, and hold on to stuff while you stand?
I don't remember falling, though
Ruby - remember to take care of you
should I put salt on everything? lol
ruby LOL!!!
at least with husband laid low, I'm getting lots of exercise
lol I don't think so :) Maybe getting mad at hubby more often?
could be related to fatigue and stress re caring for hubby, no?
did he do anything for youe hubby ruby
Ruby, Kosher salt is best. How is Burt, is he home or in the hospital and how are YOU?
as sick as he is, he still finds the strength to be nasty!
just painkillers for Burt
hi Annie, hi witchy, hi Une :)
hi all
{{annie}} I get fancy sea salt here, I thought maybe it will raise my BP
hi sprite :)
but I think it was just fatigue and stress, nothing serious
hey, sprite ;-)
ruby, dear one... falling down and hurting yourself is always serious. Take care.
Blacking out is serious. I'm glad the doctor is doing bloodwork.
it could have been much worse
oh, ruby, wish a host of Babble helpers could arrive at your door reporting for duty!!
yep, could have been worse. Can be a lot better too, though.
morning, annie :-)
he called the nurse at her home on Fri night and she was here at 7:30 Sat morning to take the blood
sounds like the doc thinks it is serious.
but did he get anyone to help you with bert
I just must have looked really pale and tired plus I was still a little bloody
husband won't accept any outside care, stubborn as a chow chow!
i think it's time you overruled him!
none of my business . . . sorry
if it becomes too much for you to handle, he will have to accept outside help.
Sometimes we have to do what is best for the caregiver.
I agree with you, une, and I appreciate your input but he gets really nasty if I bring up issues like that
did you get hold of daughter in ca? maybe she could do something
what if doc and/or nurse tells him you need help??
I am with Une and Annie. In the long run, he will benefit. Maybe don't bring it up, just arrange it.
she's both dumb and a ditherer, would be no help at all + she lives in Calif
he doesn't want to see his daughter while he's in this state....
must run -- please take care of yourself, ruby -- big big big hugs flying across the Atlantic to you!! :-) *poof*
bye Une, *hugs*
I have someone to do the housework
{{une}} bisous
if she is no help at all, you can do without her. But neighbours? Friends? Your son?
and, hopefully, the handyman will come to bring wood in as I can only carry one or two at a time
and the sun is shining!
what if you left ruby? he'd have to accept outside help then
<-- trying hard to be optimistic
if not for the dogs, I would
if you could get to uk you and dogs could stay here
thank you witchy, that is very kind, but they are big and stinky, but angels nonetheless
woot! That is a wonderful offer, witchy.
they know that things are "off"
I have a big fenced in back yard, you can come here.
just took down the terrarium/pool, so more room for the dogs.
you have all made me smile, which I truly appreciate!
just come for a week or two, by then he will be so hungry we will accept help from the handyman.
think about it, ruby. Take a holiday at least.
we=he
hahah
he wouldn't even take out a piece of chicken for his own lunch, said "I just won't eat!" Passive-aggressive like his mother
that will only work as long as you let him blackmail you with it though...
he doesnt know what he has until he doesnt have you for a bit.
so, he has 40 days before organ shut down
my reply was "fine"
good girl!!!
i do the same with the kids.
good!
(he had a big breakfast, prepared by me)
STRIKE STRIKE STRIKE
yes!
like the ancient Greek (I think) women
let the Greek Gods feed him
I think I head the handyman
he can always send Hefaestus to fetch for him
your like my twin sprite
lol sue *hugs* I think we both hate to see ruby in this position.
nope
no handyman
better not head him, grin.
lol, didn't see my typo
ruby, I can really understand why your husband is being such a pain. And I sympathize with him. But when he treats you like dirt, I really feel you shouldn't let him. Make sure he knows where the boundaries and limits are.
I have this nasty eye... I see all typos. I am great at revising texts :)
I just stay away from him when he's like this. I do as much as I can, but when I don't feel well, I just stop
Ruby, I hope you will remember to take care of yourself too. Over doing things can lead to bad results, as you found out.
there could be nothing nasty about you, sprite!
I'm with Molly too. Stop doing as much as you can, and quit before you don't feel well.
playing babble is taking care of myself!
as most things, the eye for typos can be both a good or an irritating thing, grin.
playing babble is very good :D I wish my girl was better, then I could come over to yours, ruby. I cannot yet leave her though.
but from what you've said, she is on the mend, right?
Burt would have a fit to have "company" see him like this
oh yes, she is! Going in the right direction now.
he'd have to accept me, honey. I can be very persistant. And I kind of like him, and I think he knows that.
persistent? Yeah, I think e, right?
close enough!
well let's keep in touch. When my girl is better and things are still bad at your place, we will see what can be done.
max downey twiss
I am hoping that you will come in Spring when it is so beautiful here.
hello sea... you lost me, lol
sea????
I hope so too, ruby. But we can always do it earlier if that is better. And if we like it, we can do it ag6 ;-)
ear-to-ear grin!!!
:)
I feel much better; thanks for listening, ladies!
yvw ruby... take care of yourself first from now on, ok? Promise?
latin, latina - no good? hmm
leta
I tried those too. I think Latin needs a capital. Not sure about latina though.
G'morning, all.
hey gramma :)
I curse my daughter and her recipe sharing!
Have you ever had slutty brownies?
oh dear... what happened :D
hm not yet. What are slutty brownies?
need to go coupon hunting
bbl
slutty brownies are the BEST
good luck sue. I hope you will find good ones.
most Worst for you brownies
my son made them with triple stuffed oreos
Chocolate chip cookie dough, layer of double stuff oreos and then brownie mix. Baked together for an evil but yet delightful concoction
ouch! That sounds just too delectable!
Oh sue, then I curse your son too.
fireflies! :D
WTG, sprite!
I'll celebrate for you with another brownie.
very nice grid. First 90 - 100 are fast, and then it becomes quite a challenge. For me anyway.
Luckily, I don't like Oreos, so slutty brownies hold no appeal for me.
I'd kill for such a brownie, grin. Anything I can clue before I go?
How many altogether?
How many words? and good morning to all
124
124 shouts the chorus
thank you
Oh Molly, you don't even know they're in there. It's a gooey goodness.
I don't like oreos to eat plain. But we used them for a bottom of a cheesecake and that was awesome.
Don't like oreos?????
hi BLouie
and grant
I just started. Too many words needed.
ok, I am off then. *hugs* and have fun.
what are the stats for the n?
Hi Sprite
sprite, wait!
na5/12
Could you just clue the hardest word to find?
sure. For me that was La6/24. Ends the same as the fear of heights.
thank you sprite
yvw :)
great clue sprite
:) Anything else?
ty
oh and at7/36 was tough for me too. But that was because I couldn't let go of the at- prefix. While it is a-t*****
Huh?
?
I mean it is not a word like attack or attire. It ks a word like aglow.
mmmm
thanks for that.
"Every time I see him, my nerves are all at7"
yw. Have fun, all. *poof*
atwitter? Tweet, tweet to my peeps!
Who is he?
hi and bye, Scrabs! Yes, like atwitter too!
that was a clue, gram.
I want to see him too
pool boy? LOL
Fear of heights = altophobia.
I thought it was acrophobia.
Kaplan, I could use a good stimulation. It's been years since I felt that way. ;)
I was wondering where "phobia" was in the grid.
Old movie. Vert***
Acrophobia (from the Greek: ἄκÏον, ákron , meaning "peak, summit, edge" and φόβος, phóbos, "fear") is an extreme or irrational fear of heights. It belongs to a category of specific phobias, called space and motion discomfort that share both similar etiology and options for treatment.
That word means dizziness.
Yes, that is another word for it, Kap.
Gran, that sounds so racy I hardly know what to say.
anyone know the stats on the 9?
Don't say anything. Just let me enjoy the memory
What's the difference between Acrophobia, Altophobia and ... answers.yahoo.com › ... › All Categories › Social Science › Psychology 1 answer - Feb 3, 2009 Top answer: Acrophobia is an extreme or irrational fear of heights. Altophobia is a fear of high places. Hypsiphobia is also a fear of heights
OK, I have la6, now I must find that at7.
I learn so much here.
I was reading Phobia List.
Scrabs, the last part of the at7 rhymes with what sleigh bells do
got the la.
Now, what is the difference between heights and high places?
Hypsiphobia- will it be in tomorrow's grid?
Heights+ Brooklyn Heights. High places= Haight Ashbury circa 1967.
Silly Kap.
:)
being at the top of the empire state building and being unable to look down = is afraid of heights. Being afraid of Flying in an aeroplane is being afraid of high places. yes? maybe?
how many words today?
124
thanks scrabbler
NA5/12? I can't figure that one out. Help, please.
I don't recall a clue.
na5/12 rhymes with what you hammered into the wall to hang a picture
anyone know the stats on the 9?
Huh?
Na 5/12 N & pt of beer
ty
I passed halfway so that is enough of this grid for me for now.
co 9/78
Hi does anyone have a list up today plz?
sorry no idea
Not that I know of.
negativeneil has one in Babanon
Thanks - found it.
Are the co 8 - 9 - 7 all related?
I still don't see any difference in being afraid of heights and being afraid of high places. Heights ARE high places.
I guess there is no oxta4 soup.
8 & 9 are
Is it really ox tail?

It is def there because I just used it.
I know, I saw it when I went to the page itself
gm
gm, kje
fireworks thanks to Neil's list
fireworks here too
wooohooo ice!
congrats, vanilla
ty you could also have said lice kje lol
not that I have spotted any lately
or slice.... you know, I just realized I always read your name vanillaice, not slice.... stupid me
youre not familiar with our pastry
I guess not, what is it?
(thankfully vanilla lice hadn't crossed my mind)
Hiya Marion...... please say hello.....
puff pastry filled with custard and cream coated with icing
mine wil have a touch of brandy
that would be good right now with my coffee
no doubt
Our German baker makes the best he sells tons
and it is called vanilla slice?
yes
'morning (yummmmm ... vanilla slices - kje, they're like napoleons)
will start looking for it
are they more german in origin? there is a german bakery in dallas
here in canada, we have vanilla slices - had no idea what my husband was talking about until i saw them - and aha!
so more brit then?
passion fruit icing is great
not that I need to discover more sweets that I like
they might have a flavored icing and an extra layer of filling, like raspberries
no I think its Australian but I may be wrong
well... there ya go, the fruit makes it practically a health food
no theyre not healthy just delicious
(it is called rationalization, slice)
the pastry has to be crisp
here you go, the leading authority, Wiki *lol* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mille-feu ille
decadent
oh wait, I've seen those at the french bakery!
ok not Australian we'll defer to the French
there was a place I would go to in Baltimore every Sunday morning called Napoleon's Bakery.... good coffee, hard rolls, and a pastry was their breakfast special..... but never tried that one, couldn't get past the really good chocolate croissants they made (only decent croissant this side of the pond I have ever had)
well at least the Pavlova is Australian created in Perth up the road from us here
pavlovas... a gorgeous dessert
I didn't know it was australian.... cool
named after Anna Pavlova the Russian Ballet dancer
yes, I always thought it was russian
reminds me of the caesar salad.... not italian, created in mexico actually
1935 the chef of the Hotel esplanade in Perth Western Australia cooked it up
back in the early days we had ceasar salad till we were sick of it, can't stand it now
(I am eating mandarins with my coffee.... should stop the sweets talk before I am forced to go find something rich)
spoiling your coffee
caesar salad is good, when made traditionally and fresh.... every cheap knock-off has made it boring and blah
maybe we should have another try of the cs
caesar salad, vanilla slices, all we need is a main course and cocktail :)
the anchovies make it for me
and a pavlova! i love meringue
see, its still the same
I have some fresh pink gulf shrimp in the fridge waiting to be cooked, could make you a lovely appetizer
anchovies and good croutons :)
ok ok don't let my better half see this
fresh croutons rubbed with garlic and anchovy before baking to a crisp
you know, vanilla, it's early sunday morning here in alberta and texas - but we're ready for this spectacular feast you started!
good for you
shrimp? where?!..ill have 3 pounds and a pail of garlic butter please:))
its us 1 % of the world population that can enjoy it
my time is same as the babble clock... but I will eat good food anytime of day, I am not a "this is only for breakfast, dinner, etc" type
sad thought isnt it
for anyone looking to up their carb intake (a lot) can partake of the monkey bread muffins that are in the oven as we speak
vanillia.95% of us are indeed the 1%..then there are the 1% of the 1%
I do sometimes feel guilty
actually, my breakfast will be a vegetarian scramble with broccoli, mushrooms, a little cream cheese mixed in as the eggs cook, and sliced tomatoes on the side.... I am dieting
best you can do is pay it forward in your own circle of life, and if enough people do that the circles will overlap:)
you'll get fat on the diet lol
vegetable scramble, I meant, not vegetarian... I am not a vegetarian
no, I have lost weight on that diet...
i thought you were having scrambled vegetarians for breakfast - you'd need a pretty big frying pan
and you would have to add some bacon..the meat would be too lean..turn into pellets in da pan:))
whenever we have birthdays etc we don't give presents, just money for a particular cause... eases the conscience
well... I could eat scrambled vegetarians, since I am not a vegetarian, but I will refrain
nah, i really didn't think that - but the image is funny
daughter started that when she was 6 she received a doll on her birthday and gave it the girl next door, because: I've got three and she hasn't got a doll
ok...well i may as well dive in since i seem to be alone lol
that is sweet, slice.... how old is she now
shes 43 now
All four kids are carrying on the tradition more or less
nice
anhyway time fr bed it near 11.30 have a great day everyone and do try the vanilla slices and the Pavlova!!

No Madonna fan is Molly.

on the other side of the coin, they will upstage madonna
sure wish we received the US commercials
lol Crossy
I've seen the Ferris Bueller commercial. It's very clever.
It won't make me go out and buy a Honda CRV, but it's well done.
Hmmm. I already own a CRV, so it's not doing them any good with me. LOL
It did make me want to see the movie again though. I was kind of cultish about that one.
I just finished by making up words. Could someone please use gl5/14, gl7/40 or gl6/30 in a sentence for me?
I can't remember buying anything because of a tv commercial
Hego, you know you ran right to Wendy's and bought a burger after "Where's the beef?" : P
<<<<<loves Ferris
lol Molly
I came very close to naming my third child Ferris, but thank God, thought better of it.
great movie, though
I bet your child was glad too Molly :-)
That was back when Matthew Broderick looked happy. Ever since he married, he looks very forlorn.
I'd guess SJP is pretty high maintenance
Ya think Mag? I heard she threw away a 500$ pair of shoes because she stepped in dog mess.
Poor Matt
Oy! When I think of the bills I could pay with $500
she enjoy's making designers rich
The sad thing is, she pays all that money for clothes and ends up looking laughable most of the time.

Hi Peri
hi hego, hi all
hi peri
hi Aloy, made any good soup lately?
hubby made awesome potato leek soup.. what soup have you made?
Aloy, a friend of mine recently moved to Sarasota and is loving it
no soup made lately :(
lots of cultural attractions there, peri
would love to move somewhere warm but do not want to do it myself. she recently married for the first time in her 60's
I am planning sweet potato chowder - it has converted several sweet potato haters
so there is hope for me (not sure about marriage but a partner sure would be nice)
sounds wonderful, rasta
hmm, sounds interesting, rasta, do you have a recipe?
let me see if it's online before I type it all in -
Aloy are you on the east or west coast of Fla, I forgot
we have a butternut squash waiting to become a soup, but pizza will prevail today
we are on the Gulf Coast, peri
about an hour south of Sarasota
if I were to move to Fla I would move to the gulf coast too
very nice Aloy
ok
outside of Punta Gorda, an old fishing village.. lovely
A lot of my neighbors go there for the winter,
I am jealous, hate cold, snow and ice
so.. not urban like Sarasota, Tampa, Orlando, etc
not much this year, Peri
need help with g words, missing 5 of them
I know, hego and I am very happy about that
I'm missing 7 of them..
but we do have a snow blower, snow broom, and cover for the windshield just in case
here it is on some Indian food page - http://tinyurl.com/6rdlg8h
love Indian food, thanks rasta
ty, rasta.. saving that
I don't know that it's indian. It's in a vegetarian cookbook that we have.
It's the blend of spices that is unusual - you thing it's going to be awful, but it's delicious
*bangs head on desk*
they you have made it before, rasta?
I have always just used frozen corn. The tortillas is an unusual touch too. Yes, it has become a staple in our house, esp for company
no one else would eat it here :(
would have to freeze some and freezer is small
Ruru, are you okay
for the i words I have in5x2 and in4, what am I missing?
Aside from the headache

What in the world are y'all fixing for Superbowl? The game doesn't start for six hours.

Amaized indeed : P

I'm making chili.....but have to clean house as well. ugh!
<--- going to a friends.. I have to only bring some wine :)
and an appetite
lots and lots of wine I hope ruru
I love the Target ad where the guy is on the phone with a girl inviting him to a Superbowl party. She asks him to bring dessert. He thinks: M&M's. : )
yum!
yes.. lots of wine.. no supply problem here
I also love how people who don't watch football all season long are suddenly football watchers on Superbowl Sunday.
i'm there for the party :)
I don't care for them molly. they get in the way of us who really want to watch!
Atta girl. Shirl will be knocking back drinks in the kitchen while everyone else watches the game.
hi all
i will be at home drinking my own wine. i watch skins but have no interest in the superbowl
Sunday greetings to all!
hi judi
jmc....I'm a skins fan too!
<--will be rooting for Patriots today
I have no interest in this Superbowl. I have unmentionable feelings about both teams.
wd suz!
is there no Lickety list yet?
go ru go!
I'm with you Molly. We'll be watching thing on our DVR
are the teams decently matched are is this likely to be a blow out
Ravens fan here... What a heartbreaker! They earned it, they beat Brady in my eyes
will be rooting for the best commercials
they did..Patriots got lucky with the Ravens
yawn..let me know when a hockey game is about to start...
What Kevin? You are not doing as Gisele asked and "praying for Tommy"? *GAG*
Hell yeah they did! We freaking gave it to them :(
voting for the best chili
that was a heartbreaker indeed yad--if the ravens were playing i would watch it and root for them
lol Molly
semi chili off at the party :)
the ravens destroyed my team this year
Me too jmc, me too... alas
Who's your team ru?
because you know we destroyed a lot of teams this year *wink wink*
Ru, you will notice that I had oodles of grace in not mentioning the demise of Houston.
haha i was invited to a chili party where one chili was being cooked by a canadian and the other was vegetarian! sacrilege! I almost went to bring them real Texas chili
49'ers long time fan
it's been pathetic for soooo long
molls you are the soul of grace
in many ways i feel bad for vegetarians
Oh gack JMC, my Canadian husband made terrible chili.
haha me too shirl
I wanted the Brother Bowl sobad ru! Harbaugh showdown!
but then i remember it's a personal choice
Curious. What do Canadians put in their chili that makes it so ooky?
well molly .. injuries did them in.. Houston's a pretty good team
my point molly -- if god had wanted canadians to cook chili he wouldn't have put spice in it
If I am ever forced to become vegetarian I will weigh 85 pounds because I will take no pleasure in eating anymore.
now, now jmc, I'm canadian
totally agree molly
we all feel for you Shirl
i love lots of canadians but they are weak on the spice end of things shirl
*maybe I should get on the Molly vegetarian diet*
i do eat and like veggies, but i'm a carnivore and canadian :)
Nah. I tried it ruru. Once I found out vegetarians can eat pasta, I was doomed.
you will take steak from me only when i am dead
jmc chops.. hmmm
the pasta is okay it is the cheese that makes for tubby veggies
Ahaha...Tubby Veggies sounds like a PBS kids show.
i eat from my garden all summer long but i loves my steak (medium rare please)
so it do molls
And chocolate. Chocolate is a vegetable.
would someone clue the la 6/24 please?
you're making me hungry jmc
of course judi -- semi-sweet
la + note of the scale + not stop
sorry shirl
Ru, sounds like a word for dizzy
hey snuffy!

happy belated birthday TO
they dissing us shirlock?
Yes, all co from the bottom c, sorry.
ty je and ru
only your ability to cook spicy food properly -- other than that i loves canadians
yeah! see what jmc is saying! I do chinese spicy food!
one would think that two of the three Ts could be together...
we do not bury the taste of our food in hot spices
haha you will have to cook for me some time--every time i eat spicy food cooked by canadians i have to add hot sauce!
the more northerly the country, the less spicy the food
Praise the bland Cross! AlthoughI do LOVE pasties!!
i have the easiest tasty chili dip recipe if any interest, in case of late nvite
*walks around the chili pot holding ring cards*
Meat pies Kevin, meat pies. People are going to think stripper thoughts.
that's white bread food jmc, szechuan is spicy
not bland..we use spices we just do not bury things in HOT spices
i ate szechuan in canada shirl but it was at a restaurant
But they are pasties and they rule! Covered in gravy! Mmmmmmmmm
I like to put a little nut brown ale, cinnamon and red pepper in my chili. All things in moderation, tho. Don't like it real hot - just a little zing.
white bread soaking up the chili sauce left behind mmmmmmmmmmm
I lived in MI for a long time and we used to serve them in one of my restaurants
you guys are making me hungry, going to go grab lunch
<- is drinking a virgin caesar with a ton of horseradish and tabasco - must be because i'm "transplanted"
if i want to burn off my tastebuds i just get my east indian friend to make something
if i want to burn off my tastebuds i just get my east indian friend to make something
the chog has more than its average food talk today
stew meat cut in quarters from the size you get it at the grocery browned and the simmered for hours in a tomato and cayenne sauce
re-hi, kje - now it's chili time
caesar?
soup to nuts.. where are the nuts? don't answer that, lol
he has these samosa,s that are on 9 out of ten on the hot scale then they dip it in this spicy mint sauce..whew!
hi kje
like a bloody mary, jmc, but with clamato instead of tomato juice
its been a while since we had a food orgy on the chog
hi
Why do y'all Canadians call Bloody Mary's, Caesar's?
French fries and gravy... Canadian beer, Labatt's Blue, Molson Ice, hockey, Mike Myers, Bryan Adams
<-- makes killer samosas
makes me want to go out an buy stew meat and make chili for tonight
just to mess with you molly:)
It has Clamato, not tomato juice
I know where the wingnuts are aloy...
superbowl chili - sounds like a plan, jm :)
give me a bloody mary with lots of tabasco or give me a margarita
i tried american beer once, had 28 of them and just used the rest to water my garden:))
Oh GROSS! A Caesar has clamato in it???
mmhmm
ooh, close to PB, ruru.. (-:
i never had the french fries and gravy dish
*adds clamato to the list of unlikes*
depends on the beer crossy--there are good ones but they are not made by anheiser-busch
clamato sounds like a venereal disease
The list of unlikes?
clamato?
hi everyone
Clam and tomato juice mixed
it is very close ru
hey nass
ugh
hi nassy
hi nassy
Clamato makes wonderful Bloody Mary's.. but.. it is a bit expensive
*bluuuuurgh*
sounds disgusting!! sorry!!
you guys do not have motts clamato juice down there..how odd...
my son in law is in the process of brewing a maple bacon porter
I would try it - I like clams
There are plenty of excellent American beers.
hi kje did no tsee you come in
we do crossy -- but i have to good sense not to drink it
we do have it clamato can be bought here, just never have
We do, Crossy. We just ship it all to the crazy people in the great white north.
mmm bacon porter..but i am more of an ale fella myself
Welki, mail some to my house!
it's just a little thinner and more flavorful than plain tomato juice - not 'clammy'
the problem molls is everyone things of bud and miller when they think of american beers
ugh
if the very first word that you see represented you then im thinking of a suicide lol
Well that is like saying the only Canadian food is poutine.
oh?
with a celery stick and celery seed.. off I go - may your favorite team win today! Poof
well good thing the grid has no control on your life nassy
bye snuffy
everyone does that, some think the only food in mexico is tacos
bye aloy.. thanks for your help
Sam Adams, Bell's, PBR, National Bohemian, Milwaukee's Best, Colt 45, Fat Tire, Harpoon, Anchor Steam
don't tease, nassy, first two and stats?

lol
Uh oh. We've veered dangerously off the food subject.
Hahaha
i really could not leave it alone hehje
Like I said Kevin, plenty of good American beer.
but more interesting!
now,back to vodka...
All our ears are pricked, at full attention, standing tall, waiting for the finale
see people complain when we talk about food and when we don't! hahahaha
gimlets :)
*covers eyes*
voda gimlets? yum
Did you stiffen when you read that yad?
agreed Molly, but I quit beer and all alcohol, for the best. 10 months sober :))
what are gimlets?
*Pats Kevin on the back*
wahtdoes the 8 begin with besaides co 8?
lime and vodka
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
good for you yad
hurrah for you yad
sorry, taht was what and vodka
gin and lime originally but vodka is invading everything gin
gimlet is lime juice and vodka, no//
I prefer gin..
lime juice and gin or vodka with a little simple syrup and a wedge of lime - or use rose's lime juice
now crossy will share his perfect super bowl martini recipie!..take one large martini glass from the freezer, add 4 ounces of chilled ketle 1 vodka, take a sterling silver cocktail sword and skewer 3 pearl onions with it and gently float it in the vodka.now lean over the glass and say.."Antonio Benedetto Carpano " and serve
I hardly ever drink hard alcohol though
ah, yes, right. Gibsons have the little onions
je is correct. i like gin but vodka is the drink of choice given the crackdown on drinking and driving
beer and wine have gone by the wayside as well.
what's the diff, owl? proof is the same
Which is funny because it's a total myth that you can't smell vodka on someone's breath.
<---spent too many years as a cocktail waitress to get drinks wrong
(gin and vodka, that is)
i have a de 8, what is the c 8?
apparently co8 yad
I can smell vodka from ten feet away
Me too Ru.
to think about something co 8
is that pronounced jimlet?
very few things have no smell
yes nassy
i can smell water and sugar where most people cannot
hard G in gimlet
if your lucky
it smells less, don't ou think?although the silliest thing i have experienced is a liqourcompany throwing a free try my product night and giving out preety tins of mints as a favor
Which is why I don't drink vodka because I used to work with an alcoholic who reeked of it all the time.
hi esprit
Yes - hard g.
btw, kudos to you Yad on your committment to sober living :)
hya jmc
I don't really care for vodka..
i prefer vodka based drinks... learning to like some gin
well there you go i can't pronounce it!
thanks all for the kind words. It fells good and took a long time to make the choice
i find gin too flowery
try a top shelf gin--it makes all the difference
good choice yad
i like gin, it does not like me.
haha i am afraid we are not being too supportive here yad talking so long about booze -- but really good for you.
jmc - I know no other ; )
anyone have the first column g stats?
anyone need anything from the store? thinking of some ribs and baked beans for superbowl supper
What's wrong with Lickety's link??
:) i dont really drink but now im intrigued
whats gin and tonic then i thought that was lime and gin ...
haha you snob kje!
rib! more ribs! in a nice honey garic sauce!
gin and tonic is gin and tonic water
oh, owl - speaking of alcohol - gi6 = liquor girl
with a squeeze of lime kje
I'd rather have less of something really good than lots of something cheap but mediocre.... I guess I am a snob
haha welki

last de6
*brings over nose supports for kje*
lol welk - ty
now now don't take me seriously there is nothing wrong at all with having good taste
I'm actually in the car with my dad (man in profile pic, spitting image) right now, headed to MI to turn myself in on a felony warrant for child support arrears, something I would not be able (willing) to face or do if I was not sober...
most of dick tracy kje de 6
oh yad how hard. . . and good for you for starting down this road
oh crap, a fish
does the de 8 add a prefeix to an existing word?
Aw Kevin, good luck with that. I will keep you in my good thoughts.
wow yad
you should know you have lots of supporters here!
adds a suffix to a de 6
wow yad - good on you for stepping up and accepting responsibility - best of luck
do you need an attorney? (not me--someone else)
that takes a lot of courage, yad... best to you
thanks y'all *sniffles*
*sneaks over to hug yad*
best wishes, to clear the road ahead.
{{yad}}
I have an attorney thanks.
good i am glad to hear that
It's the start of an honest life Kevin. Hard to face up to, but good for you for having the guts to do it.
I have cleaned up a lot of my mess already in the last 10 months. This is just the biggie. I will be able to get my license back after this also... THANK GOD

Ha. So true, Molly. My husband and I were having a discussion and night, wondering if schools even taught handwriting anymore. Do they? (Obviously I don't have children).
great comment TO
But I'll stay away from that subject because someone got all huffy with me about it the other day.
*last night*
they are eliminating hand writing
not much any more; there are some teachers that do. The one I volunteer for requires it!
oh bother,molly
mrs ru watches dr phil and you should hear him murder the english language
this grid would be sooo much easier if I knew what I was looking for
agreed nan :(
Kid should at least be taught to print. I can see cursive going the way of the dinosaur, but I think some form of making a personal mark should be maintained.
the only way I can avoid yelling at newspapers to get better editors is to not read the news...
he is folksy.
words, nan.
you're looking for words. Not necessarily English words though...
Mr. president we depend on Lickety!
right afte rthat pathetic attempt ive got to get going thanks for the chat bye yall
pee cigarette break
My husband is doing a historical property search of the farm he grew up on. I transcribed a deed from 1830 the other day. Believe me, I was cursing the hand-written documents of the era.
they are taught a hybrid of printing and cursive, supposedly faster to write than either
bye, nassy.
and they are taught to type very early (unlike we were)... times change
you're peeing cigarettes, yad? that sounds uncomfortable...
if you pee on the cigs they're hard to light
watched sunday morning and the typewriter is making a comeback in some circles.
At least printing looks like typed text. In a pinch, you can scraw "S.O.S." on a sandy beach if you need to be rescued.
*scrawl* eesh.
watched that too, TO -- was surprised. I couldn't go back to that heavy touch!

Is the Super Bowl always in the evening?

Oh and congratulations to Bleu. I think it's not so much about how fast you finish the grid, but more about how much you enjoy finding the words.

Hi folks
Hate this grid.

hi hego
thanks so much!
It's full of stupid words Hego
yup!
babble's always full of stupid words!!
I know Lilliann, I was just thinking about how silly that was of me to say. And yet, we keep trying to find them.
true, Lil
Hmmm, then how silly are we?
That is the question Hego. : )
: )
i'd say we're all mad for putting ourselves through it everyday!! :)
yup, yup
I am stark, raving myself.
a bit sado-masochism...
yes, i would say very few of us are truly sane
exactly lbd
hi lbd and dorens
(well, those of us who are nuts enough to want to finish every day, for years and years, no matter what else is going on in our lives)
I've gotten to the point where half way is fine with me. That "drive to finish" (especially the big ones) was not mentally healthy for me. For me, mind you. Everyone has their own way of going about this.
nothing wrong with being insane...us crazy people have more fun! :-)
lol lbd...very true! :)
unfortunately, my hubz isn't as crazily insane as i am, and is expecting something for dinner. bbl
i have to finish molly. once i start something i have to finish it no matter how long it takes me!

No football for you Dose?
The game is not on until 6:30
... not a big fan anymore ... ... too much talk radio ... too much gambling ... too much manly stuff ... not enough fun anymore
Oh, I think there is still lots of fun in football. A lot of other dumb stuff, but great fun watching the games.
I agree, although I've always been a baseball person.
takes way too long those basball games
the nurse in me cringes watching football
haha
I never see the point of all these guys crashing into each other and running this way and that
one does need patience for it.
with a funny shaped ball.
... me too ... ... in my youth I was a Yankee fan ... my Dad was a Dodger fan ... hmmmmm ... ... just noticed that ... maybe it explains why I grew up a Montreal Canadiens fan in a family of Toronto Maple Leaf fanatics
lol
Dose how are you feeling these days?
I'm sure it looks that way to people who don't understand the sport.
... except for a damnable case of the flu that I can't shake ... everything is fine
then they all fall down. it's like a game of ring-around-a rosie gone haywire
what good is a ball that don't roll. lol
and the imaginary orange line thing?
funny Kap
Men in tights.
I llike that part
:)
My husband was sick all week and my daughter is sick- guess who's next
poor Kap
My biggest complaint- my hand! I have thumb pain so bad that it is hard to write and draw.
... there was an ancient comedy routine ... I can't remember who did it ... but it explained football as a religous rite ... ... with the sacrifical pill ... and vestal virgins on the sidelines dancing to delight the ball ... and and it went on and on in that tone ... ... it was hilarious ... but I can't remember who did it
why?
The two things that keep me sane. I am going to a specialist this week
I think it's latent homoeroticism. How's that?
Football, I mean- not my thumb.
Oh, yes, Dose. It's all Roman coloseum, for sure.
war substitute
computer related
So the specialist is a hand surgeon. What are the chances a surgeon recommends surgery?
your thumb, that is.
Not computer related.
pretty good chance of that.
Not carpal tunnel. It doesn't bother me at all to write on the keyboard, but put pressure on a pen- ouch. It's arthritis, I believe
Have you tried an NSAID Kaplan?
In the joint, not the wrist.
what is a NSAID?
hmmm...... interesting.
yes arthritis
That space between the thumb and forefinger- OMG
she means motrin or the like
All this stuff has been creeping up on me
Oh yeah, I gobble motrin
sorry to hear
alleve.
yes Aleve too
You can get a stronger on than Motrin by prescription. But, you have to be careful about your tummy
It's in my genes. My tummy can tolerate motrin pretty well.
My parents both had all kinds of arthritis, and much earlier in life.
I am afraid I won't be able to draw. Or cut paper, which I also do a lot with my drawings and for collages.
that's too bad. I have those kind of problems also.
Beyond Naproxen Socium, super strength, I don't know what else there is
*Sodium
Cortisone? I really don't want surgery on my dominant hand.
Hego, it stinks.
But it could be worse.
I've had cortisone injections all over the place.
do they help?
they usually help. For a while at least.
Kvetching.
sometimes a long while.
they are worth it for me.
I tried denial. My favorite treatment.
I see the hand guy on Wednesday.
not too effective
good luck
See, this is what happens when people use abbreviations. NSAID, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
The trouble with hand specialists [or others like them] is they want to operate
Kap- if you can find a certified hand therapist to do physical therapy with you, it's worth it. It did wonders for me with some of my repetitive motion injuries
I don't type that well.
I went to draawing today and I couldn't believe how much it hurt. And I think I twisted my knee in Body Jam, so I might just take to my bed and have my personal maid attend to me, like in Downton.
I know- that's what I am afraid of- I just want a diagnostic x-ray and some less drastic treatments.
Good advice Mag, I know people who have had the same results.
yes, that would be nice. tea please!
molly, do you have de's?
Yes Molly! The girl I went to just did hands. She had the hand therapist certification and the exercises she taught me are so helpful!
much better than when I went to a regular physical therapist with the hand problems. They're just not specialized enough.
People don't realize what kind of repetitive motion damage they are doing to their hands with keyboards and tiny cell phone buttons.
I need an x-ray first I think. I have put off PT for a year because the location of the pain keeps shifting.
Which is I think a characteristic of arthritis- that it shifts.
pt might help
The computer doesn't bother me. I think I need OT.
yes, true
And then there was the Christmas I crocheted 21 scarves as Christmas gifts. I thought my therapist was going to throttle me. LOL
Mag...glutton for punishment. : )
ouch!
which is true?
the shifting
and flat broke, Molly :-)
As much as it pains me I must go finish cleaning the bathroom floors.
Good luck with the thumb Kap!
really? I have noticed it, but thought I was imagining. Sometimes it's my shoulder, sometimes my hip- lately my thumb. My husband thinks it's made up.
Kap, are you more likely to do repetitive motion with the keyboard, or with your drawing? It's what stresses the hand that will make it painful.
Thank you, enough kvetching from me for today.
mine occasionally moves up my arm into my elbow.

Hey you wanna hear something REALLY funny?
... yeah ... but put all these words down for the next grid ... they'll score lots of points
I've got everything "itis"-itis
On NPR I heard that Newt Gingrich's robocalls in Florida said that when Mitt Romney was governor...
took Kosher food away from Holocaust survivors in rest homes.
Oh Lord!
It was on "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me."
And you believe that because?
Because it's true?
anybody have the de8?
No politics!!!
I mean the robocalls- apparently there was some kind of benefit that was taken away that made it possible to not subsidize their food
please....
de8 sounds like the gerund form of erasing something, but change the first vowel
like the opposite of onflating qithout the L
... builds from de6/21 ...

Ha Cos, I just put Stromboi and wings in the oven. : )
i guess theres also a game going on between the commercials idk idc :)
we also made pickle/ham roll ups
I see you've gotten into those roll ups. I like them with ham, cream cheese and chopped green onion.
what's stromboi?
Typo: Stromboli
ive always made these roll ups for lke 5 years now.. theres one forgot all about.. with tortilla, cream cheese and ham. i shld of made that!
what's stromboli?
Oh, I thought that was a thing of the mother-in-laws that you didn't care for.
there must be 500 sharpies in my house from work, kid's projects, etc. Why can I not find one when I need it?
oh i like these - just not as an entree lol
Stromboli is bread dough rolled out with ham, pepperoni and cheese on it. Then you roll it up and bake it, then slice it.
ruru stuffed bread
so thats how you make it.. sounds easy enough. ill have to do that
oh.. never had it
That's one version anyway. You can put anything you want in it. A hamburger/cheese/onion mix, sausage, peppers, onion and cheese mix...and so on.
do we have word stats anywhere??
I have in6, in5, in4 whats the other i please?
Have you had Calzone, Ru? It's another way of making that.
Another in5
in5 x 2
I've had Calzone.. like that a lot.. never heard of Stromboli
thanks hm
Sounds like an Italian Horn Section in an orchestra
Stromboli is good for parties because you can make a big one and slice it up.
are both in5/14? thats the one i have
stats: http://babblersanonymous.yuku.com/topi c/663/master/1/#.Ty8FAVw5KrZ
Cos, which in5 do you have? One sounds like Kris of Christmas's last name.

hagn, sue. Hi torgie!
brb
hi, babblers
howdy welki:)
ohhh, it's been a few minutes since anyone chatted *sits and waits for a little while*
hey crossy - beans came out great, but boyhowdy, they sort of tasted like Heinz!! strange!
(and the ribs were spectacular)
i even used salt pork belly in the beans - molasses, brown sugar and a splash of maple - not too much sweet, just a little of each - onion, coleman's mustard, a little bbq sauce/ketchup - and yep, you could swear Mrs. Heinz had a hand in them!
help with TA 5 / 14 please
mmmm...ribs...
a romantic dance
sounds like you had all the good stuff for perfect beans...
thnx welki
i make great beans - no recipe, though (if i don't have something, i'll use whatever i can find)
made enough to give away some and freeze the rest
hi welki, wv and crossy
hey dawg
howdy lbd
mine are similar welki... except I don't put anything resembling tomato in mine... and I do put in onion. I also soak mine overnight , and then bring to a gentle boil with a tsp. of soda, ( sweetens them ) then assemble and cook in a brown crockery beanpot. I quit using salt pork as sometimes it was TOO salty, sometimes not enough
baking soda and a little bit of vinegar
i put one nice squeeze of ketchup in them - i thought they needed some color :)
:-) you got it ! .... and have to keep skimming off that foam.
and i cook mine in a dutch oven
sorry... I just saw that you put in onion too
pssst - soaking beans is for the young and culinary inclined - i used canned organic navy beans for this batch (only because 'organic' was all they had in the store)
Yummmmm... however they're done.
i stopped soaking beans ...hmmm, 15 yrs ago
If you don't presoak them though, they take forever to cook .... I use the white pinto beans... maybe that's the difference.
i guess if i was making a huge batch, i'd use dry - too expensive otherwise (and yes, you need to soak them - even if you boil them twice, they take too long)
the only time i use dried beans is to blind bake a crust.
Yours are already precooked. .... I have another recipe that uses several types of canned beans... wonderful in the slow cooker.
i used to have a jar of those beans, too -- for pie crusts :)
There's 20 of us when we all get together, ... never any left over to freeze or give away LOL
that's a good sign for some good beans!
i loved cooking for crowds - jealous :D
we were up at the lake on friday, diane - had to bring the trailer back to town for some warranty work - not much snow left, strange winter
I saw the picture on Facebook :-))
Very strange winter... I keep waiting for something to happen !!
still could - we've had some very cold feb/mar/april
same on your side of the border, too, dawg?
Yes we have... :-) Alberta is unpredictable !
the hill we have to negotiate was icy - slid backwards and had to put some gravel down
We are heading out to Victoria for 3 weeks , leaving Feb. 15.... Just wait.... it will then dump a ton of snow for our neighbors to contend with !! They get to use our snowblower though :-))
can someone please help me with the la 6/24 thanks
my inlaws live in victoria - we love it there. last time, we found a couple of lakes in the city and took the belly boats out for some flyfishing - and caught trout for supper!
