an old medical man told me that my body was not producing enough acid to properly digest the food ( that i should not have had in the first place), and the vinegar would break it down and start the digestive process........... my nana also told me that 65 years ago.

it was perfect for the Asperger's boy -- very calm and quiet. allowed for movement but not chaos. lots of choices for the kids.

I appreciate the Montessori method, for my nephew it was disasterous, he entered the public school system after 1st grade and still could not read. i fault the teacher more than the method though. She allowed him to do a lot of what he wanted...choices.
he is reading well now. but had a year of remedial work, which was very upsetting to my sister!

exactly red. This teacher was firm but kind. He let the kids choose what they would do unless it meant they were avoiding things and then he added the parts they needed. There was a lot of copying of letters without a lot of reading emphasis on the day I observed

I liked that he had expectations for the number of things to work on each day and they did not get playtime until the work was completed. Our kids get recess even if they have just played around all morning
I think that for so many people reading just "happens" but for him, it was a struggle, and because he really likes to be successful, he really avoided it...
I was surprised to see both of her boys are actually doing better in the public school. I had always thought Montessori to be exceptional.
