I was wondering if any of you remember the grid that had over 600 words? and I wonder what the record for the most word grid is?
I think I remember the 600 grid, and I thot someone told me that was the largest to date
I think it was that one at 744 or something
wow that is huge
I remember the 744
i like those large grids
I didn't have time for it
Must go to sleep....night/morning everyone :)
744 on 21st April last year.....stats are down the bottom of lickety's page
bye smores
Sleep well smores :)
de 7
gnight smores -- and I'll be gone soon too
yo 6
wow, diz; didn't remember it being that recent
I doo dee -- and I remember flosey finished it
quite a few finished...I was one of them
the al7 eludes me.
kudos to flosey... I honestly can't remember if I did or not
al + naked person (change the 1st letter to nearby consonant)... then plural
ty Dee - I'd never have found that!
i finished the 600 one but i wish we could have another biggy
yw
volley you had 12349 out of possible 13761 pts :)
aww ty dart... did better than I would have thot
There's a word would never have got on me own ..
I was just playing Serpentine with flosey
has your snow started, dart?
ty dee
you can look at it in the archives
same here - ty dee
yw med
been snowing off and on since last early monday morn
I don't see how to get to the naked person
... story of my life however...
flurries or heavy?
change the first letter of the naked one
When the grids are that huge, I wish we could use a mouse, as well as type.
going to bed short of mediocrity. nbt, nbs, > halfway, but only 4 7s. sleep, then work. How hideously responsible of me. nite all [poof]
mousing would be great
probably end up with about 8-9 inches...more just west of here...we had some dry air wrap into the storm and kept our totals down...but had 14.2 last thurs so there is a lot on the ground.
I have been having probs with my fingers/hands - would love to mouse now :(
Is that unusually high for Wichita?
last winter had 3 inches all season...and not much up until this last week
they used to mouse in tangleword but it doesn't work in serpentine
I don't think anyplace lets you mouse now...
sounds like our winter this year... minimal snow here compared to previous "norms"... keeps hitting north and south of us
stuck at 120
we'll take it..still about 16 inches of precip below normal for last 16 mths
wonder if you'll catch up before summer (so no drought)
doubt it...that would take a lot
Neb/Kan are so far in the hole right now...severe drought on the scale
I believe IN is also, still, but haven't checked lately
hi everyone, just hope from bridge
IN showed normal on the last one I saw this past week
hi flosey!
hi Dee
hi flos
hi flosey
hi Dart
jilli still here??
hi Medusa
where is lickety's page?
drought map here http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/
Hi flosey -- just about to leave

3 way tie for 2nd place
wow floseu! How any tables?
ta diz
Sleep well Jilli :)
BBL :)
with only 3 1/2 tables
Seee how tired I am? Repeat -- Wow, flosey! How many tables?
Oh, thanks -- sorry so few though.
very interesting... looks like our part of the state caught up... probably all of our winter rains
yes, one player didn't show up
yep...guess we are classified between exceptional and extreme drought now
Who?
Ted - very unusual
so his p went home
Dart, that's awful -- at this time of the year too!
yes -- hope he's ok!
I think we are "near normal" now according to one of their links... very interesting site
we haven't had much rain or snow for the last 24 mths.....and 2 very very hot summers
not like him, so must have been something important
indeed -- was Joh J the p?
yes
That's a shame -- he comes so seldom and they did well
want to use that -itis ending
ditto that
i just tried and got one
don't think it'll deter him though, jilli

Must go to bed -- ty for the news, flosey...*poof zzzzzzzzzzzz

nite volley...you might get a few inches from this one
ty flosey, you, too!
thanks Dee
it will be interesting to see what we do get the next few days

hi ruby
hello sandy
how are you getting on?
Raffie is being sent on the 5th, I think, I've just wired money to Spain. I don't know if she's coming to Lyon or Geneva, but my friend Catherine will take me to pick her up
the puppy looks gorgeous, how old will she be when you get her?
she'll be about 9 or 10 weeks
that's a good age for a large dog
its a little chilly here today, kinda windy
we've never gotten one younger than 3 months, so I hope she'll be as clean as the others
hopefully, Rufie will teach her good habits
tins
now ruby, you can't expect perfection
sorry
I forgive you
all the other chows have been perfect and I'm really not worried! hahah
How is Nicky doing with her sick dog?
her dog is not sick but has to be spayed and has a skin tag on her eye to be removed as well as a possible tooth to be extracted
she cannot cope she is so worried, she loves that dog
it is always hard to have a dog needing anesthesia, so I can understand her anguish
I have been playing a game called Serentine and I am the worst player on the whole site LOL
Jaffa is so little but very robust
serpentine
I don't dare try another game as it would take over my life!
because we are on the farm and limited in what we can do, I can spare some time now- also I am lazy
No doubt busyness will overtake us soon'
if I didn't have a husband walking around in circles with anxiety and yelling at me, I probably wouldn't get much done, either
if I could slip some Xanax or Zoloft or Prozac into his food, I would!
Di's husband works up North and has been evacuated because of the large cyclone about to hit
Why is he anxious, is it worry over the puppy?
another one? You have been very unlucky with weather in Australia this year. Here it's just unremittently [sp?] cold
Why can't you anyway-you could say it was a mistake (got that idea from the south african legless runner)
he worries about everything: shopping lists, trash collection, wood for the fireplace, everything
and he gets up at 4 0r 5, obsessing
well , you have to love him for caring!
My father was like that more and more as he got older
not really [bad nel]
lol
I am struggling with this game , my brain has fallen out after the thorough trouncing I got in Serpentine-it was so bad....lol
I guess I should try it. Do you play Lexulous?
all I care about in babble is getting half, nbt and nbs. I hardly ever finish (maybe 6 times in 3 yrs)
what is that? and where is it? if you tell me its on facebook ....(can't understand that facebook)
it's also at www.lexulous.com
if you join that, we can play and chat at the same time (if I know you're coming....)
I have lost my driving desire to complete babble like I used to but my enjoyment of it hasn't diminished
it's scrabble but with a slightly different board
im going to look at it
I like going into the new grid each day, doing as much as I can and seeing if any of the people I like are on
Ruby, I will try it and let you know how I like it- are the people that play mean like the scrabblers are?
LOL
I just avoid the men, many of whom get fresh
it must be your fatal charm!!
I've made one good friend, however, icelandic. He's a sweeties, a little younger than I, married, dog-lover and lives in NY. He's funny and kind and doesn't talk smut
and sends me poetry and dog photos including a pic of chow puppies after Ruby died
I was just getting off this computor to have some wine - you have stopped me imbibing---he sounds lovely
he's a nice friend
You must be excited about the new addition tho.
You will have to train Raffie to watch the Tour
I am worried that we wont have the tele going by then- we better or I will be upset
and I've met a few very nice women: robyn richardson (who lives in Hervey Bay), Tondeleyo (who lives in Saratoga Springs), Sonya Geyer (who lives in J'burg), Pam Patton (in North Carolina). So it's nice for me
Iwill try it, I promise
Yes, very happy about the new pup, but that doesn't stop me from missing Ruby and checking her "spot" when I awaken in the morning
don't worry
Ihave to be better at that than Serpentine- which I enjoy strangely enough
of course Ruby, that goes without saying , I still look for Sydney two years later
I mostly play lex in the evening, 7PM here, so I'm not sure if our times will gibe or not
I miss Ruby the most, though, at night, when I would give her a massage from 10-11PM
although she was not demonstrative with anybody else, she would roust me out of bed for that
and now, off I go to try to calm Burt down
see you later, cookie!
we will see how I like it , I have added it to favourites, but I have to go, I hear a car- will catch you later (Ruby sounds lovely and I know you had such a good rapore with her but you will love the new pup too altho they never replace ) but bye for now
*woof*
good morning all
hi Sprite
hi lyn :) XXX
must be an easy grid, no-one seems to have been around for a few hours
Hello, Sprite & Lynxxx :-)
indeed. We will see... Ks first though
hiya zooz :)
hi Zooz
Ks are easy, Spritey.
one is a nice bloke - my husband
Ks are never easy
My husband and another way for me to relax
hehe, Lynxx.
x
:D
ok found them, thanks. You are right, these are easy, as Ks go
I knew only as i found them easy to find haha.
wow, I have a vase of se5.16 on my mantlepiece by my chair here. what a coincidence
oh nice, lyn!
called Autum Joy Se***
*Autumn
Thanks, Lynxxx if it's the Se 5/16..then i got it first try.
Listen to me..you even put the stats up..lol...sorry just saw se5 and started to look.
:) Zooz, I can hardly keep my eyes open. You are doing fine.
stop apologising Zooz! if you keep that up I will feel obliged to apologise every 2 minutes myself.
now zooz must say: "Am I apologising? I am so sorry!"
Sorry to hear that, Spritey..hope everything is ok your end ((Sprite))
yeah, son came home from school, he is ill, looks like flu. And I am incredibly tired and sleepy. Might be same.
Ok no more So5 words for a whole grid day.lol
lol you made me type sorry here
Not good..hope you do not catch it as well.
Did you get your back-up hard drive working?
hope not. But if it is to be, it is to be. No, not yet, still debating where to go and what to do.
I thought about your hard drive problem the other day..then noticed at the bottom of the babble page.the advert for Backblaze..an online back-up storage device..i looked into it..and it sounds pretty good...although you do have to pay $5 a month.
I wonder about the safety of having all my data online. Some stuff, like my books, I'd rather not have available so easily.
As far as i am aware as soon as it is backed up it is compressed & incrypted...but i understand your concerns.
What about using Cloud storage?
hi Molly. Isn't that similar?
I have also heard of cloud storage..but do not know a lot about it.
Right back to the grid for me..diving in.
Yes, but it's a little more advanced that the previous back up storage places. Most of the tech community backs up to The Cloud now and so do many businesses.
have a good dive, zooz
ok, thanks Molly, will look into it.
Google seems to be the most recommended one. I guess it depends on your needs.
it is the second time that I cannot access the backups I made myself. So it may be interesting.
Those Ms seem a struggle to me.
I could eat a few of 'm
especially the nutty variety
lol..yes.
am gonna check on my son and then try to nap a little myself. Back later. Bye *hug*
Hope you get a good rest, Sprite.
bye Sprite sweet zzzzzzzzzzz's
radar is a wonderful. It is great to be able to look at it and see what rain is coming and how heavy it is....note: not whinging about heat anymore, we have been having some wonderful rain (just a long as it isn't too heavy)
*wonderful thing
I am glad it has cooled down for you, Lynxxx..i do like radar on the internet and other gizzmos..i have a mini weather forcaster in the house so i can see whats heading my way for the next 24 hours..lol
our Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) has radar on it -over most areas in Australia and you can pinpoint particular areas - its great. So one site - accurate 5 day forecast by major cities, radar, and tides (the last is important to us in this immed area
Hi all - love the BoM local radar site - hubby loves it much more though!!!
Hello, Liz.
hi Liz...I bet you do! Yesterday was interesting as you could see the effect of your weather on us down here.
Yes, we watched that!
It's finally a bit drier here tonight! Clear skies! Got soaked this am - decided to go for a walk in spite of the rain!
hi everybody
Hi Ruby :)
read through the chog and got the se5. thanks. I grow it in my garden and have dried in the house, too.
Hello, Ruby.
hi lizlin
hi zoozz
hi lynxx
hi molly
Raffie is coming on the 5th!
That's exciting news - not too long to wait :)
I wired the deposit this AM
Hope Ruffie will be happy with being the new head..lol
I'm really happy for you - I know Raffie isn't Ruby but I'm sure she'll be very much loved.
it will be funny to see his reaction to a smaller dog. I hope he doesn't think she's a toy and shake her in his (large) mouth!
I am sure he will be thriled to have a new friend.
I think so, too
Thrilled*
He will have to show Raffie around the house..and lay down the ground rules..lol
I hope he'll recognise her as a playful pup! My brother's 2 dogs (choc lab - female and springer spaniel - male) were delighted when the springer's daughter came to the house. But they put her in her place when she got too excited!
ahd hopefully, show her the appropriate "private" places in the garden....
<-- loves springer spaniels
Any stats for the bottom 'i' & 'o' please?
zooz, im5
im5/12
Just the 'i' now please.
zooz, os5, ot4,
Ahh thank you, Gran & Molly.
{{rose!!!}}
Hi Rose and Molly :)
Ok OT4..looking.
{{{ruby}}} my dearest one, loved the photo of raffaele....did i get that right?
I can't decide on the correct spelling - Rafaella, Raffie, Raffaela, whatever....
i really like the first version.....it's the name of our vicar. lol
is she Italian?
is she Italian?
that way i will never forget it. * giggle *
I think that one of the great ocean liners when I was a little kid was named that
ruby, she's as aussie as you can get...but an absolutely amazing woman.
Also got the im 5/12..many thanks.
did you get the os6/24? (chuffed)
No got the os5 bones one.
I think the os6 is intestinal, but I'm not sure. Looking for the os5....
o's ousted
hehe
ty for os 6, Ruby :)
Still looking for that one.
Latin ending, zooz
Ok.
Got it..thank you.
I thought I was doing well until I realized that I had no 7's... :(
oh, dear, ruby. i'm sure you will find them soonest.
aaah, found one hanging from a tree
(((((Ruby)))))). Hoe are you doing, Honey?
Hello, Soodle.
{{soodle}}
Hi Zooz & all.
much better, thank you. I think of you when I call Rufie, Buster!
He is definitely a buster
Bless him. :-)
120 words done and only just got my first 7
how are you and the kids (hahah, big kids)?
hello ishult
Hi soodle and ishult :)
Hello, Ishult.
a good afternoon to all
Irish toast is a phantom!
{{{ishult}}}} long time no see. how are you, mate?
All well here Rubes. I'm going to a funeral later. Yet another suicide. A young man of 28. Too sad.
I think you are one hour later than me, ishult
that is awful, soodles
That's so sad
Sorry to hear that, Soodle.
did you know him well?
that's just so sad. was there no-one for him to reach out to?
launch
Suicide is at epidemic proportions here. No Ruby, but I know his Dad very well.
Very sorry, all.
Soodle, I have a candle lit for you and the rest who gather today.
no, thank you, zoozz, I needed that one!
Who knows Granny? And thanks Molly. (((())))
Me too, zooz - I was just working on that word!
and that gave me two other woords, zoozz
any clues for the mi5/14 would be very gratefully received....
Not surprisingly, I don't have it yet! After all, if you don't have it yet ... lol!
I have the other mi5's hmmmm
lol, liz
hi and nbt
hey josh
hi joshua
Hi Joshua
mi + Peter P*** and Mary
ty Molly :)
thanx molly
Yet another variation of the cat noise.
i am very rusty. i think i have done 1 or 2 grids in the last 6+ months
And from there to the mi 7 - so double thanks!
no idea.....
aaah, looking for the boy who stayed a boy...duh
Ruby, you don't know Peter P*** and Mary? Puff The Magic Dragon?
nooo, ruby, a 60's-70's band of three singers
yes, I finally got it, it just took me a long time. Thanks, Molly
Maybe I should have said John P*** George and Ringo : )
yup, more up my alley
:) Def prefer that music!
But the other was very cute!
Yeah, I was never into the folksy stuff.
but now Puff will be my earworm of the day
I suspect I'll be going to sleep with Puff ringing in my ears :)
Attempts to change Ruby's ear worm...♪ Everybody Wang Chung tonight ♫
off to light a candle for Mary and to send a mail to Spain
*woof*
never was into folksy stuff - still am not.
Have a good day Ruby :)
Louis Armstrong once said, and I'm probably misquoting, All music is folk music. I never heard a horse singing!!
OMG, Molly, used to dance to that!
did everyone see the news report on the poor english woman? she has a rare form of tinnitus. she hears 'how much is that doggy" 24/7.
Bye Ruby. ((((()))))
OMG! No I didn't see that. Poor lady :(
I've had that one and worse!
sometimes I get pieces of Come Ye Sons of Art
{{bye soodles -- will send you new puppy hugs}}
have tinnitus, just a tuneless whistle in my right ear...can drown it out.
Soodle, someone once told me that if someone could not find peace in this world, we can at least take comfort that they will have peace in the next. That is about as comforting a thought as I can muster about suicide.
Hooray!!! I love puppy hugs. :-)
"my" Buster gives huge puppy hugs
Love puppy hugs too :)
are you all just winding people up..i thought tinnitus is just an annoying ringing sound in the ear/s
sooo nice, ruby. one day i too will have another dog...i don't think it's fair as i am still working.
let's give zoozz some more earworms
"Can't buy me love"
zooz, it was reported in the english paper, the metro.
"Ya know it don't come easy"
can't buy me love
Oh i see..i get that all the time, Ruby..lol
I can usually use the Beatles to block out almost anything
I read the Metro yesterday..did not see it in that one, Gran...oh well must google and see.
the hardest ones are orchestral, doing all the different instruments.....
*woof* again, for real
And hello, Joshuavorbis.
zozz, was a few days ago
Ahh ok..thanks, gran...was not on the mainland then..so would of missed that one.
hi zoozzoom
I did not play babble for just over a year..started again about 4 months ago..found it hard for the first few days..but back into it now.
i did the very first grid under a different username, forgot all about babble for 5+ years, and wandered back and did the grid every day for several years. hopefully i'll get my groove back
Yeah will not take long chap.
Just reading back a bit and would like to say that My son has tinitis, it effects ever aspect in his life. He has lots of issues, now 25, it still affects his life tremendously

hi sprite and west :)
hi cwest
good morning everyone:) it is now time for grossy's tidbit of the day!! now i am a outdoors type of fella from way back.i have camped and pitched a tent under some of the most inhospitable conditions you can imagine with bugs, snakes and other various forms of wildlife right there in or near your sleeping bag.this tidbit has taught me a new word "glamping" i was outraged at the idea at first, but the more i look at it and the more i consult the inner train wreck that my body has become, the more i like this idea.so i give you glamping!!...
http://tinyurl.com/aao4byv
crossy's
lol yes, heard of that. Hi crossy *hugs*
hi all... is there anywhere that says how many words there are?
((sprite))
only if you go pro, sanity. 186 words today.

glamping, it is
ahhh :/ not played in 5 years. was free then...
the word stats etc are free for a limited time. After that, you have to pay that one-time fee to become pro and have them forever.
i have been plaing for 5 years this june.the cost was 11 dollars at that time
name that proper noun: country near cambodia
and sprite was standing here when dr_g opened the doors;))
I wish, crossy. But not long after that :)

ah, good going, crossy. And I need to reinstall it! Forgot after the crash. Which, of course, was NOT caused by folding at home, because folding at home is totally safe.
Folding @home info is in my profile too but you have to scroll past my diary of Frank's cancer
our sister site foldit.com hat a hit last year with a protein fold on aids research so it can be done!

So glad you have your family's support. Well done.
ty xx
going to take a tea break and read the daily news, bbs
i still use the stench of a smoker as an incentive to never start again
Bye flosey!
i will never smoke again
bye flosey x
if needed, stand right beside a smoker who has had a fast smoke outside the office or something.it really does the trick
I am always so dismayed to see so many young people smoking these days. There seems to have been a resurgence of it. None of my kids have ever even wanted to smoke, thankfully, and are like me in that they won't even date someone who smokes. Just can't stand it.
hi all- stats for the singleton i please- bottom row?
my mate comes here that smokes i make her go outside and hate the smell when she comes back in i tell her she stanks lol
i + not yours
ty phaeton. :-)
stinks *
My father had quit smoking for 20 years and went back to it. He developed mesothelioma and it was so sad to see what that did to him. I've actually said to kids I see smoking "Let me describe the horrible way my father died due to smoking," but kids think they're 10 feet tall and bulletproof. Some just have to learn the hard way. I read in a journal recently that nicotine is the most addictive substance there is....must be since it is so hard for people to quit.
Clues for the c's? Or stats?
i only have 2 so far ch 4/8 (the singleton- shark food) and another word for towns - ci 6/21

ty to sammys for pointing the way
hi there, peri.. did you enjoy it? what topic?
Hi, peri! (hug)
warning on that ti 6/18 a babbler last Christmas had a cat fall very ill after ingesting just two stands of tinsel.was a long recovery
strands
no specific topic. It was fund but disconcerting. The 4 other women in the class either had some experience or had taken another class by the instructor. so no one was a beginner like me.
it was fun
oh dear.. major pb for crossy
I think I did pretty well for the first time tho
listening to resta qui.. makes your heart swell up, it does
oh, lol, I get it ... collage, not college
lol,i gave the stat first them spilled the word at the end
lovely, sammys.. takes you away
it is a four week course, 3 hours each
Peri, I went back to school after 30 years away and absolutely loved it. Got straight A's and was so proud of myself.
I went back to school in my 30's and finished by under grad degree and then got a masters degree. this is just for fun
collage not college
fun is good, very good
Fabulous...great way to spend your time.
we have a babbler currently doing the grind through school again.a noble effort but at her age and with it going on and on with many unknown letters starting to appear after her name in the near future,i had to ask what sort of retirement package the school offers it permanent students:)
The peace of mind and satisfaction package, crossy.
I'm considering going back to school.
Do it, invictus...you won't be sorry. I went back to school online and was amazed at what a good education it is and how much it offers.
I'm thinking of going for respiratory therapy.
so, peri.. I imagine you will have a final product at the end of your classes - no project in mind? a wall hanging perhaps?
Great choice and there is so much demand for it.
oh, did my post get lost in cyberspace?
something is amiss, am refreshing..
Has peri left the building?!
I've gotta go for now. Bye and hugs all around.
later mimi
bye, Mimi.. strange, but nothing recent was showing up in the chatterbox until I rebooted..
like, everyone left the building!
LOL, Aloy. Poof
fw and I must go.. smooth babbling to you all! Poof
I'm here.
back for a few more
hi everyone, how's the grid today? crossy - i finally got the link for the PB and Bacon cookies on my profile for your perusal. The article in the paper said that it was kitchen tested by them.
i must be hungry, i'm seeing lots of food words
hi Kate
hi flosey, i don't see much of you these days, are you doing okay?
yes Kate thanks, not very often on during the day - always start the grids at flip time - then wander in and out throughout the day
how's the weather for you? we're about to get socked (sigh)
ah, nasty, have had a couple of sunny days, today is just dull, at least not wet
coolish
winter jacket days still
it's been a very gray winter for sure, can't wait for spring - i can smell it in the air :))
making myself walk at least a mile a day - need the exercise
ah, remember that wonderful smell of spring to come
the best exercise, and in good weather, so enjoyable too. i love to see people's gardens green up and start growing
I spent most of my life in Ontario - probably 2/3s
you're out bc way now aren't you?
after teaching in BC for 2 years, we moved back to TO where he taught for 30 years before coming back to BC
yes, Salt Spring Island - small island between Van. Island and Mainland
35 minute ferry ride to Vancouver Island, then 1 1/2 hour ferry ride to Mainland
very pretty country out there. i visited vancouver - mission area a few years ago. stanley park really was beautiful
nasty commute in rainy weather ick!
we pick our days, to us, it's just a continuation of our highways
we do have small float planes - very handy in a rush but more expensive, of course
the small planes go to the airport and also downtown
how very posh, i'd love to go by float plane some time.
very handy if time is an issue
here to downtown Van. about 20 minutes
sounds very convenient flo, do you go to van. very often?
was just over for a few days last week, have 2 daughters there - and one grandson
he's 3 1/2, they change so fast
nice to have family close by, great that you get to see him often enough to watch him grow :)
was with daughter for 7 weeks when he was born - flew home weekends to be with hubby
i bet that was a god-send fgor her, an extra pair of hands never hurts
yes I did leave, but I am back. I made 4 collages today. will make some more during the week before the next class. hopefully one will be good enough to hang on one of my walls.
there had been difficulties, she was in bed for a few weeks
3 more classes. plus I have two collage books at home to learn from

ty, yes have not seen it spelled this way. but got it

The cat in my icon is Lucy, she died the day after I asked the vet to put her to sleep, and he thought she had more time. This was a couple of weeks ago. still miss her (and so does my other cat), but it is getting a bit better. How far away do your parents live?
so I extend my sympathy and empathy
sorry to hear about lucy, mine was called jake and he adopted us and i'm so glad he did. we had him for about 6/7 years.it is hard.i'm not sure if our other cat does or not, as she's push him away from his food bowl and frighten him, bless him.i think it was because the first day we had her she swatted him around his face!if we say his name she looks
me to you too dorens
they live in france
ahh. Nice for them. nice for you that they're coming. Do you get to visit them at all?
not alot as my husband works away alot throughout the year so it is harder for me and the bairn to teval without him, especially on a plane
Then it is especiallly nice that they come to you.
we saw them last february when they came over but now that they are getting older it is harder for them. my dad still drives but now finds it harder in england as it is alot busier on our motorways than in france, plus they always go on the n roads in france as they don't have to pay the tolls :)
teval? lol
Will they drive/chunnel?
I was referring to Trif. "Hi friends" is how I Love Lucy begins her Vitameatavegimin commercial. But Trif seems to have vanished.
they are getting on a ferry and stopping at my brother's who lives in a town not far away to drop their dog off as my female cat is very frightened of dogs and then they will drive down and stop with them a fortnight later for 2 weeks
oh, ok molly. i use to watch 'i love lucy' many moons ago!
hope you all have a great time. I am traveling on Friday... my friend's son is getting married in Costa Rica. sort of a rush job, and not too many people can get down there on such short notice, so I'm going to lend my moral support... have known her since we were 13, and the wedding IS on the beach
as in not far away from the ferry. he lives in kent
that sounds fantastic dorens. i hope you have a lovely time
i think i will. but four days in costa rica is just not enough. want to go climb waterfalls, etc -- not sure how realitic that is
who am I fooling? I'm not about to climb waterfalls anymore at my age. but i like the concept
Its nice now you can get a pet passport and bring your dogs over to UK nowadays
no, i must admit 4 days are never enough, but saying that 2 weeks aren't always either if you like the country you are visiting
lol, well you can dream :)
that i can. well, I'm off for a bout of exercising, so this fat old body can eat well at the wedding. see you later
hi deeha, it is,but it costs alot of money plus the pets have to see vets here a day or two before travelling.i'm not sure about france, but i know that there vaccinations have to be up to date now which is good
doren's you are who you are.you are a mature, voluptuous lady.enjoy your exercise and tc.speak to you soon
(i hope i didn't offend you dorens) we all need hips and bumps in places and not look like sticks :)
See Lilliann? There is the "lingo". "This fat old body". We have been trained to think that our bodies are not acceptable and it comes out in our thoughts and words.
Sad fact is, we have been trained to degrade ourselves. I see it here all the time. "I am so dumb".
i am brilliant but i can't spell
i must admit molly. i'm the same.i have put myself down for years as my ex husband said i looked 'a tub of lard and chocka'.i was 23 when we got married and i still put myself down now even though my ex fiance and my now husband always say i have a lovely body.once in your head,it's never gone, plus we as women are our own worst enemies!
i can spell, well most of the time when i don't have a brain freeze jmc but i'm not brilliant :0 and hi by the way
hi!
We all do it, to some degree. Most of us were brought up being told not to brag on ourselves. Somehow that turned into putting ourselves down.
i needed to say that as i had a not very successful telephone call to raise $$$$$
the thing is, as we get older we do put on weight, especially with having children and the menopause
It must be hard trying to solicit donations in this economy.
i tend to be harsh on myself because i was the brunt of bullies for all of elementary school and most of jr and sr high
it was a try for a big fish molls which would bring me to where i could more easily raise money. . .
what are you raising dollars for jmc?
but i didn't land it
for the organization i started to deal with process issues in the US government like campaign finance reform
hi again all!
but as they say in the marketing world i did get movement. . . i am suppose to call in 3 weeks. . .
hi uu
i've just re-read your profile. sorry, i forget and have to look at all the people on here
i've just re-read your profile. sorry, i forget and have to look at all the people on here
hi jmc, lilli, molly!
i have to too lill so np
oops, i meant to say people on here's profiles :)
ji sue :)
*hi
i suppose i should change out of my gym clothes from this morning. . . i was so tense i decided to take a nap. . .you don't think (much) during a nap
naps are sweet :-)
yes the advantage of working out of home is the ease with which i can take a nap. . . i always set an alarm though
i can't ecercise much now sadly.the most exercise i get is my nose flaring when i'm snoring!
looks like you are getting the worst end of this storm molls and i am not liking what i am getting
no chair exercises?
do you ahve a power nap jmc?
pouring down here in southern maryland
hi everyone
yes it finally started here in DC as well saphyre
depends whether i'm dizzy or not jmc and even then when i do some exercises it makes me dizzy, so i can't win
hi saphyre, big snowstorm here this afternoon in northern IL
i hope you and molly are safe and stay safe jmc
leaving for florida next week - away from this icky weather
hi saphyre
oh dear that is too bad. . . i guess i would be raising my arms until i got dizzy. . . but it is easy for me to say since i don't have the problem. . . .
Honestly, I don't mind what it's doing outside as long as I am home where it's warm and comfortable.
where in florida?
just looking at the weather map, looks like a huge storm, stretches all the way from the Atlantic to Nebraska
yes being at home makes it better. . . and i enjoy watching the storm out my deck sliding doors
But yes, it just started raining pretty hard. Right after boyo got home from work, which was nice. : )
when i'm lying in bed i do some exercises and then i get dizzy and fall asleep for hours so thye excercise i've done hasnn't done much but i'm happy, i've done some jmc
yes that is nice molls. . . i will just assume the boy is home from a hard day at selling real estate. . . or bikes. . . whichever it is today
i'm glad boyo got home safe and that you are both warm molly
well maybe over time you can build up. . . don't mind me. . . none of my beeswax
my son just called and offered to come home and shovel - I am very happy :-)
no, it will never get better but i don't mind you asking
how nice!
that's nice sue
er my nice comment was to sue not lill!
i knew that lol
haha
he said he was shoveling the driveway at his fraternity house and decided there were plenty of other people there who could do that, so he's coming here to do ours instead
Frank is out with the snowblower but the snow is very wet and heavy so it is tedious (I have a cheap snowblower)
well i hope you greet him with hot cocoa!
aww, bless him.it would be good if he could bring some friends, as it would be quicker
I sure don't miss the shoveling from when i lived in NY
I suggested that, lilli, but he said we probably don't want them (he doesn't think they work hard enough)
there has been no shoveling here in DC this year
And YAY and HALLELUJAH for that.
no snow, jmc?
No and we bought a generator so haven't lost power yet either LOL
lol sue
there has been some snow but the sun has been sufficient to clear the pavement
Ugh, Son of Sue is living in a frat house? I hope he's had his shots. : )
i was thinking the other day about how i probably should have spent the extra money to have my solar panels go to a battery. . . .
it's a Jewish fraternity, Molly, so I figure they are at least partly studious
haha
and he is one of the oldest there, so is becoming the responsible adult - it's good for him
*Is thinking of funny names for Jewish fraternities*
*gets the drums ready for a rimshot*
riftshot?
Alpha Epsilon Pi. Don't ask me why a Jewish fraternity has Greek letters :-)
Oy Veta Knishilon
well they are called greeks. . . i would guess they wanted to pass. . .
knishilon?
Trying to mix Yiddish with Greek.
ah
vatsa mushu gana
and i will quit before i get in trouble. . .
U Calla Your Mudda
lol
that could be italian molls
yes it could
U Challah Your Mudda?
better. . .
(I'm copying these down...)
Good morning from here - good afternoon or evening to you :)
uh-oh we are in trouble now
hi liz
LOL :)
hi liz :)
Hi Lilli, jmc, Molly saphyre and Sue - hope I didn't miss anyone :)
No worries, Liz and I are bubellahs. : D
Sure is! I really liked U challah your mudda - mafioso / Jewish, I'd say!
Hi Liz
Just judging by Hollywood representation of mafioso!
I think it would be cool if Jewish fraternities used the letters from the Hebrew alphabet.
Aleph, Bet, Pay - not the same ring to it!
Not sure if I used the right letters - don't use these frat letters in the UK.
Then you'd also have to have frats using letters from lots of other cultures too! I don't know all of the alphabets!
If Ru were here, he would say "It's all Greek to me". : D
Good response :)
Clues for the 2nd and 3rd yo 5 / 6 pls

Oh yes - another obvious one - except as you or possibly Molly said earlier, usually think of that word with a sometimes y!

I've never seen it spelled with an I. Who spells it that way?

Swinging around the lamp-posts!
Watch those lamp posts, you'll end up in Narnia.
Good place to be - might bump into Doctor Who (btw - phone rang just as we were on the way out - hubby now on phone!)
Dr. Who in Narnia? That does not compute.
It was a Christmas Special a couple of years ago!
I can't imagine C.S. Lewis would be happy about that.
The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe
Not quite Narnia - but def based on the idea
greetings fellow addicts!
Hi Gwen :)
OK - off for that walk now. BBL :)
every famous story in the world has been the inspiration for *something* on doctor who . . . including a magical wardrobe kind of thing

Sue, what blood pressure meds do they have you on?
ha, I needed the list just to get nbs and nbt!
Molly, I'm on lisinopril and propanolol
Have you asked about other meds? They had to mess around with mine before it got stable again.
actually I take it back - I am on losartan, not lisinopril (changed a couple of years ago).
It's stable now, so far so good - I also quit caffeine and ibuprofen
I thought I remembered you saying linsinopril gave you post nasal drip, which interfered with your lectures.
uno
during this grid i have added several "new" silly words to my collection of silly words
yes, I remember that now :-). I changed to the losartan back then (I'd also had surgery that had damaged my vocal chords, but they're better now)
